A Sims 4 Players Guide To The Sims 3 By Simmearly

I am putting this together based on my own gameplay experiences and expectations, so some of this is purely my opinion.

I recently decided that with my new PC I would re-install The Sims 3, and All EPs, to see how it ran and play around with the features I miss in TS4,

I followed this guide on steam to set the game up to run smoothly.

To paraphrase just a little, this includes a TON of information, but basically, it shows you how to replace the launcher, and run the game on modern machines without issues.

Gameplay would not be possible for longer than an in-game week or so without the fantastic NRAAS & Lazy Duchess Mods.

I Use, Nraas Overwatch, Master Controller, Register, Error Trap & Traveller, which is my personal favorite, as it allows you to travel to more worlds for vacations, and own vacation homes in them etc. It also allows for you to move to a new town and retain relationships from the other town(s) you've lived in.

I recommend good default skin and eye replacements, as well as default replacements for Eyebrows and Beards, I Recommend Checking out @brntwaffles on Tumblr, as they have these as well as lighting mods to brighten up the in-game lighting and water!

Gameplay Mods,

I really enjoy TS3 Vanilla gameplay, so this list is short (For Now) however I do want to expand upon it, the Growing Pains Mod - adds a lot to the child stage and I feel like it integrates so well with Vanilla that it could have been in the game from the start.

That's it For Now, I will probably update this post as my Legacy continues, I am currently on Gen 4, and am having a BLAST!

Also - I do own quite a bit of the Store content and I have found myself using it more than expected, I bought a lot of it years ago, and I failed to realize then just how much gameplay is involved,

The Steam it up sauna is currently my favorite object due to its regenerative properties, but the Business-as-Usual industrial Oven, placed on your home lot allows for you to basically have a private chef! (Don't pay full price for any store content, wait for a sale or find it on other avenues) ;)

Work In Progress - Spring Rolls （春捲）

Yes, another default replacement is working. ✅

I'm making default replacement mesh & texture mod for replacing Spring Rolls that EA horribly made. The GeoStates (Full, Half, Empty) are all working.

I need time to finish this CC/Mod because the custom Spring Rolls still not looking right and not realistic enough, must be because the image I took for texture is from internet and too bright & over-saturated. The transparent still doesn't working although I use Alpha .dds.

I have to eat real Spring Rolls in real life to see how the actual Spring Rolls should look like.

Reason why I made the default replacement:

To Westerners/non-Asian people, I remind you that actual Spring Rolls look like these.

No matter in what condition and which Asian country.... Spring Rolls are put in one plate and separated from other meals. We're Asians (Chinese & Southeast Asians) do not add noodles to a plate of Spring Rolls. Spring Rolls are just Spring Rolls on plate. There might be leaf decoration, but not another carbohydrate such as noodles on same plate。 In making of Spring Rolls, skin and filling, there is no egg used.

Below are photos of Americanized "Chinese" junk food that USA people themselves call "Egg Rolls". I took these photos from USA brand of American Chinese Food Instagram.

They are legit look like these, not photoshopped, not propaganda. Really shocking that westerners in real life eat Spring Rolls with noodles on one plate... I thought it is just The Sims game... wow

No offense, U.S.A people. Those are horribly not healthy and not aesthetic at all. On the same plate, there is oily fried meal + oily fried meal + oily fried meal again.

I wonder why U.S.A people as the employees in The Sims 3 Studio making World Adventures Expansion Pack really thought in China Chinese people eat "Americanized junk food Spring Rolls with fried noodles" as same as they (the employees) eat in their own country in U.S.A. 😂 ?

You are making Shang Simla, China world, as content of profitable product (video game) you sell worldwide and get massive revenue, but the food is Americanized junk food "Chinese" food, instead of normal food in China that you can easily google on internet if the employees not sent to China for doing research while actually EA has headquarter in Shanghai. China...

Googling image in English language, you'll get normal results of Spring Rolls on one plate, no noodles, no rice, no other carbohydrate meals on the same plate.

Hello! I created an academy lot for Sims to learn martial arts or the Sim Fu in their homeworld without the need to travel to Shang Simla. I kept it to a lot size of 30x20 and instead of a usual dojo, I chose instead a refurbished building to make it a modern dojo or academy for the community that will hopefully fit in any world.

This lot will only require the World Adventures expansion pack for the lot assignment to show up and work in your game. I have included only 5 Sheng Hai Training Dummy and Board Breaker each so that it does not get crowded. I also decided not to include gym equipment to keep this lot exclusive for martial arts.

I tried to place Shang Simla books in the Posture-Perfect Bookshelf but the game removed the recipe and fishing skill books once I turned it back to a community lot so I decided to just scrap it and keep it a normal bookshelf instead. This lot has been play-tested and let me know if you experience any problems on your end.

📣 For those who prefer downloading through MTS rather than using Sim File Share, I will be uploading all my recent content to the MTS site but it will still have to go through their moderation process and may take time. I will update the links once it gets approved.

In Champs Les Sims

Allister has just arrived in Champs Les Sims to start a new adventure that will earn him visa points.

The funny video his kids sent him made him laugh a lot.

But then he had to mourn on the Forgotten Burial Mound, at the Celtic Ruins. This in order to open the entrance to the tomb, I guess? He's supposed to search there for a lost object that he has to return to Jolene Montaque as a part of the A Trivial Affair adventure.

14 years of The Sims 3 World Adventures

On the back cover of the Prima Guide of The Sims 3 World Adventures is the old PEGI rating logo.

This black logo was used by the PEGI system for hames released until June 11, 2009.

The expansion pack was released in November of the same year.

This means that the most of the content of the World Adventures expansion pack were ready long before the release of The Sims 3 base game.

And Prima Guide most likely contains things, mentions them, that were not included in the release version of the World Adventures expansion pack.

I unlocked the violin case.... Of course I didn't know how to play it, but we are powerful mimics. As Marius said, we have superior concentration and superior skills.... I looked down at the violin and tried to remember my idea, and I ran my fingers along the wood and wondered what this thing looked like to them. In a hushed voice I explained what it was, that I wanted them to hear it, that I didn't really know how to play it but that I was going to try. I wasn't speaking loud enough to hear myself, but surely they could hear it if they chose to listen. And I lifted the violin to my shoulder, braced it under my chin, and lifted the bow. I closed my eyes and I remembered music.... I plunged into it, the music suddenly wailing upwards and rippling down again as my fingers danced. It was a song, all right, I could make a song.... I went madly on with it, rocking back and forth...louder and louder as I bore down upon it with the frantic sawing of the bow. I was singing with it, I was humming and then singing loudly.... And suddenly it seemed my own voice became louder, inexplicably louder, with a pure high note which I knew that I myself could not possibly sing.... I knew suddenly that I was not the one making this strange high note!... I looked forward and I saw Akasha...! ....I was stammering, unable to hear myself except in the pure abstraction of intention in my mind.... I did not hesitate.... I felt my fangs break through the skin as if through a glacial crust, and the blood came steaming into my mouth. Oh, yes, yes...oh, yes! ....I was clinging to her, my living statue, and it didn't matter that she was harder than marble, that was the way it was supposed to be, it was perfect, my Mother, my lover, my powerful one, and the blood was penetrating every pulsing particle of me with the threads of its burning web. Recently, for the first time ever, one of my sims managed to get to visa level 3 for Al Simhara. I was so excited to be able to buy a vacation home! Imagine my disappointment when I realized there were only three homes available, and ALL of them were out of my sims budget! So I build a vacation home myself, and I tried to make it blend in with all the other homes in town. I'm actually quite pleased with the result and decided to share it with others, who may not want to build their own home in Al Simhara. Details:

TS3 World Adventures - Chinese Chopsticks Longer & Texture Replacement Mod

D E F A U L T   R E P L A C E M E N T

New custom mesh and 5 textures to replace EA default chopsticks.

Reason why I made the change:

Chopsticks portrayed in The Sims 3 World Adventures are too short. Shang Simla is China world, therefore chopsticks in-game should be portrayed as Chinese chopsticks, which are the longest compared to Japanese and Korean chopsticks.

EA Default Chopsticks. Short, too boxy and have pixelated & stretched texture of "random Simlish Chinese writing".

The modded textures:

福 ( Fú ) means happiness, luck, blessing, good fortune.

龙 ( Lóng ) Chinese Dragon symbolizes gods who control rain, weather, and seasons; kind, benevolent, powerful, who bring luck and prosperity.

Peacock symbolizes "grow old together" and will bring harmony to the couple and a long-lasting marriage.

FuZi_Mu ---> Hanzi writing "Fú" with wooden texture.

2. BaiNianHaoHe ---> Peacocks with Hanzi writing "BaiNianHaoHe" / 【百年好合】 means "To bless this unison with harmony that would last over hundred years".

In short, wishing the couple everlasting eternal love.

Recommended for your couple Sims and especially have just married.

3. Long_HuangSe ---> Yellow colour and has Chinese dragon image with Hanzi writing "Lóng".

4. FuZi_HeiSe ---> Hanzi writing "Fú" with black colour.

5. FuZi_HongSe ---> Hanzi writing "Fú" with red colour.

This is custom 3D mesh I created by myself. The bottom end of chopsticks has round shape and upper end has rectangle shape.

I increased the size of texture to 1024 pixels. You can see the details on the chopsticks clearly.

⚠️ Disclaimer: The mod doesn't alter the animation in-game. If you see the chopsticks going through Sim's hand, you should ask that to EA employees why they made the default chopsticks position and animation like that. Default EA The Sims 3 chopsticks are already going through the Sim's hand in the game.

Requirement: World Adventures Expansion Pack

Sim must have Asian trait to have chopsticks while eating.

Tips to unlock Asian trait: NRaas > Master Controller > (Sim) > Advanced > Traits > Change (Master Controller Cheats add-on module required)

⚠️ This package will be replacing the default EA, so you have to choose one. Installing more than one default replacement will cause conflict. ⚠️

As usual, install one of these packages on Package folder. You can safely delete the package if you no longer want to use the default replacement.

This was the first nectary lot I created for the Sunset Valley world when I bought the World Adventures expansion pack. Originally 25x30, I changed it to 30x30 to make it easier for others to place it in their preferred worlds. I removed all CCs and decided to keep it exclusive for WA objects only. No spawners but it does have WA grapes, so your Gardener Sims can harvest them without traveling to Champs Les Sims. Unfortunately, all of them are normal to nice quality only but when I have more time on my hands, I will definitely get back to this and update it to perfect quality.

I placed a L'amour des Fruits Nectar Maker for your Sims to try making their own nectars and added a bedroom, bathroom, computer and fridge in case they get tired or hungry waiting for the nectar process to complete. I only placed 18 nectar racks to prevent routing issues because, for some reason, this lot is busy in my world almost every day.

This lot has been play-tested and I've used it in all my saved games. Let me know if you experience any problems on your end. Click on the link below for more information about this lot.
