there's something about Hayward dying as he watches Paige continue on and leave him behind, and Carpenter watching Faulkner's body as the White Gull carries it down river. there's something about watching the people we love become lost and forever out of our reach. it just sticks with me. the misery of both those who move on and those who are left behind. the beauty in the amount of love that it takes for the person staying back

no but seriously, imagine:

You're seeing the parish of flesh and tide live. Faulkner and carpenter seem excited. Then, the river prophet says, "we have a surprise for you all..." All of a sudden, shrue and all the other politicians come out and start singing the talk tuah song.... Then you hear a voice.

"If she don't hawk tuah, I don't wanna tuak tuah."

The spotlight lands on two people....it's mercer and gage! All of the silt verses cast proceeds to start singing talk tuah, and everyone in the crowd begins to cry and cheer. And then, as if things couldn't get any better, the pleasure god and the president walk out on the stage and kiss.

Thinking about how Faulkner’s body mirrored the unidentifiable body at the beginning of the series. Thinking about how they all believed that the High Katabasians and Prophets would get one last grand speech before they died and Faulkner’s last word was “sister”. Thinking.

Ok so first up, the starting where they constantly shift between Carpenter and Faulkner, hmmm holy shit. Love it! And the difference between Carpenter being rightfully horrified at all this and angry even at Trawler man!!! Tell him girl!!!

Meanwhile Faulkner is exhilarated and almost high on it and even daydreaming about a future where he's literally cheered for and Carpenter and Paige are also there for him. He really wants to be Most Special Boy ever but this time with friends!!! Love that for him!!!!

Carpenter's angry voice has me like-

Have i ever mentioned I love her voice so much?

Anyway the fight!!!! Neither of them are listening to one another!!!! Not only that but both of them decided to strike right into their insecurities/trauma!!!! Deeply unwell behaviour I love!!!

And thing is they do care for one another at this point, it's pretty much why Carpenter was angry at Trawler-man and why Faulkner came back!!!! But also god!!!!!

Also Daggler is here, i guess. But also Hayward!!!!!!! Ok I knew Daggler was going to be a dirty cop, there's no way a series this critical of corporate won't also be critical of police, but also yikes! That being said, I love how Daggler wanted that toxic early season "us vs them" gay Daisira dynamic with Hayward, meanwhile Hayward is like no?? Fuck you??? Good to know he's got some morals. Or maybe he is still in love with his ex-wife/j (who apparently doesn't exist. A spoiler i still hate being spoilt about, this is something that I needed to learn about organically!!! While listening to the series!!!!! Not through random untagged tumblr posts on my dash!!!!! AAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH)

Anyway horrifying way of dying but I also really didn't care about Daggler so ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

And ohhhh the Wither mark is bad news really bad news. Carpenter is right, they really can't trust that thing with anyone. But atleast it got destroyed and the only person who could have remembered it hates the idea of it so all's well, right??? Right??? Hahahaha (we are screwed)
