Y’all, my buddy Nick has reached the Solar War! If you’ve been following his progress with me, he started reading the Horus Heresy a year and a half ago and has read from Horus Rising all the way to the Buried Dagger, the entire Eisenhorn franchise, and all the Primarch novels- including the Valdor novel. He is THERE! I can hardly believe it. My man really did just decide to finish the whole Horus Heresy in less than two years, after having not read a single book since he graduated high school. It’s amazing. 🥲

It's such a weird take for me. Have these guys never had to do a group project with really smart people? Especially really smart but slightly(very) narcissistic people?

Siege of Terra went very much as expected. Easirly the most belivable moment in 40k.

Now I am going to read the Ahriman short-story in "Era of Ruin" and I am very much looking forward to this.

But even more to the short story with both Narek of the Word AND Fabius (with a touch of Erebus even!), because there are two people I trust with writing Fabius and since Josh Reynolds is no longer available (whyyyy????), Nick Kyme remains alone. And guess who wrote it!

No matter how hard it tries. Here he comes, Encarmine gleaming. He still thinks he’s going to win. You dodge the blade. You swing Worldbreaker. He evades, but you hadn’t intended for the maul to hit him anyway. The swing was just to scare him into the air. He takes flight, white wings wide, a flash of gold to encircle you and strike you down from above. He trusts in his one advantage: the ability to fly, and turn a two-dimensional fight into a three-dimensional assault. But what are his three dimensions compared to the multitude you command? He soars above you, a vertical ascent. You reach along the eighth angle of space and grab. Your Talon closes around his trailing ankle. His climb arrests with a brutal jolt. For a second, he is anchored in the air. You bring him down hard, swinging him by the leg, like a hammer, into the deck. You let time slow so you can relish every detail of this moment.

Or like, what about Rogal Dorn huh? This man spent his entire life, his entire fucking life dedicated to this cause, he gave up everything to serve the Emperor because he believed, he believed in Him and he spent 7 years in agony destroying everything beautiful he had built to create something monstrous to make it survive, who cried when he said goodbye to the brother he loved and who had made it through hell to come and fight at his side and then literally spent an eternity in the wilderness alone holding on to the one thought that he would not give in, even when he didn't even know his own name and then he just walks into the room where his father is almost dead and his beloved brother IS dead and just like, pretty shrugs and is like, welp, pops his other brother's dead head in a grocery bag and keeps on keeping on WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK DAN. WHAT. THE. FUCK.
