It had been so long since he remembered his old life, the life before his death, he sometimes got flashes and they ached deep in his chest. Like glass in his heart, so he was grateful he didn’t remember anymore. He stared up at the lights above the large tank blowing a few bubbles to watch them rise, his wrists heavy in his lap weighted down by the shackles and chains, a collar tight and choking his gills barely giving him enough air through his ribs. His tail was long and flowing, almost like fabric, his scales a dark iridescent green that shimmered bright in the lights of the enclosure denying him darkness to hide. How long had he been here now? Made to sing for a man who was addicted to him and his voice like a drug, his hair shifted and flowed around him like tendrils as he closed his eyes and began to sing. His voice rippled through the estate melodic and haunting, a melody accompanying him by shadowy whispers and hums of impossible sounds that seemed to bleed through reality. An abyssal song for a lonely siren.

Snake Nerd, here to tell you more about snakes. This one is gona be a bit more scientificly dense, but very interessting.

Today’s fact, Snake teeth and Fangs.

There are four different types of teeth/ fangs. Or better like one type of teeth and three types of fangs.

Frist are the non-venomous snakes. These are called aglypen snakes. These snakes have no fangs, just normal teeth. See your Pythons, Colubridae, Boa and every other non-venomous snake.

Next are solenoglyph snakes, these are the snakes that come to mined when thinking about snake fangs. The Fangs of these snakes can rotate by 90 degrees, when their mouth is closed the fangs are nicely tucked in the mouth. If they open their mouth their fangs jut out by a pretty good amount.

These are your Vipeirdae and Crotalinae. Depending on the species of snakes the fangs can be 2cm to 5cm long (google won’t cooperate so I don’t know what it is in inch)

Third are proteroglyph snakes. Here the fangs are fixed in their position in the mouth, only able to move a little bit. This is why these fangs aren’t as long as the fangs of solenoglyph snakes. Snakes that fall in this category are cobras, Elapidae and Hydrophiinae.

Now this one, if you know this one I’m going to be very impressed. This is the secret third type of venomous snake that’s not very well known. Opistoglyph snakes. They’re venomous snakes who’s fangs are located further back in of their mouth, right under their eyes. Also, the fangs are in pairs.

God examples for this type of snake are hognose snakes and False water cobra. (one day, one day I will have false water cobra, and I’ll love it)

As you can see, you have quite the choise when it comes to your Naga!boys. Plus depending on the fangs it could make for some cool characterization, potentialy.

I am absolutely making notes about teeth and how they could translate to the naga boys! Not to mention a good host of snakes that can be used as bases for such creatures hehe I'm also fascinated with the fangs that can be tucked away before springing back out—imagine a wide grin framed by two wicked fangs!

Viper sat in the hospital bed gingerly sipping at the straw in the bottle of mango fizzy, his green. serpentine eyes partially blown in enjoyment as he did his best to swallow the drink down without it spilling down his chin or escaping his mouth. The IV drip lead to his arm trickling antibiotics and pain relief to help him cope with the burning itches, as various shades of green scales broke through his skin all over his body like freckles. He rubbed at the hospital gown and shifted the covers over his legs, looking to Izzy he tried to speak and it came out as in incoherent slur as his jaw unhinged at the slightest motion, baring fangs to the air before he covered his mouth embarrassed still not used to his sudden changes as he looked to the woman who helped save him and displayed a message on his RIG public display screen: It tastes really good and it feels like the food is staying down this time, I don’t feel as sick as I did before. He said looking a bit proud of his progress during this rough time on the quarantine ward.
