Blind Date and Neighbours 👀

Sebastian and Jenson are neighbours who don't see each other that often. Both have busy schedules, and are only on friendly levels

As in they wave at each other and make small talk on the rare occasions that they see each other

Sebastian is a teacher for primary school aged kids (5-12 year olds) who also volunteers with youth groups so he's often away weekends and evenings

Jenson is a firefighter with a chaotic schedule, who mostly waves at Seb when stumbling home after a shift

They do not know what the other does and just knows their name

Enter Lewis: Lewis is a firefighter who works with Jenson and volunteers with youth groups with Seb

He has no idea that Seb and Jense know each other, but he thinks that they'd be perfect together so when Jense sighs about being lonely and Seb says it's time to move on from his failed almost marriage, Lewis jumps at the chance

He sets them up on a blind date

While nervous, and waiting for his date, Seb goes to the bar to get a water to try calm himself because this is his first date since he was left four days before his wedding

And he spots Jenson

When Jenson spots him, they start laughing and joking because "fancy meeting you here" and admitting their both on a date that seems to be not here yet

Except when Lewis texts Seb with a description of his date, its Jenson, and Jenson receives the same text but with a description of Seb

And Jenson is just grinning because he is absolutely down for going on a date with his very cute neighbour who he's been meaning to get to know

While Seb is blushing because his hot neighbour is his blind date and this is just straight out of one of his trashy romance novels he loves

this au has taken over my brain i can’t lie

seb’s so supportive of jenson but jenson also knows when to keep his mouth shut lol

he’s not going to tell seb how to do his job, but he will make suggestions if he’s stuck, bc jenson has a different perspective

who knows who wins this season 🤷‍♀️

but i imagine that over summer break, they’re already dating-but-not-dating and thrown off when they’re not seeing each other almost every day

hanna gets sad texts from jenson, wondering if seb is bothering her about him too

but seb is offline whenever he can so there’s radio silence on his end (even if he is feeling the same privately)

so when hanna tells jenson he’s said nothing, secretly jenson thinks he should stop pursuing him, that he’s making him uncomfortable

so when the break is over, jenson still hovers around and stuff, but he’s a little off, spending more time in his own garage or with the other drivers instead

(mark thinks seb rejected him or smt, so he doesn’t push, but he can tell something is off w jenson, just offering him his presence so he doesn’t have to be alone)

and you know, crashes are inevitable

after 2009, jenson was a lot better at compartmentalizing and keeping his personal life and emotions out of the car, so he swears up and down to seb that it wasn’t his fault when they finally talk it out

it’s nothing bad, just crashed into a barrier, but for a second, on the tv, it did not look good

the view of his head was obstructed and he lost his front wheels

on top of that, he was winded enough that he couldn’t reply to hanna right away

so seb is focusing on kimi, telling him there’s a red flag, when he hears hanna yelling at jenson to come in a few seats down

and seb knows the risk of driving. he knows what it’s like to hold his breath and hope is friends are okay, but seb had to grip his seat so hard that his knuckles turned white

when jenson finally replied, out of breath and chest tight, seb felt sm relief and he couldn’t explain why (ofc he could, he’s not dumb just trying to suppress it)

so jenson comes in, gets checked by medical, the races finishes w kimi on the podium (not quite p1, bc ofc susie has it, but close enough that he’s still a contender for the championship)

after everything is all finished for the day, seb wants to talk to him

but bc jenson’s race ended early, he’s already gone

so seb stomps his way up to jenson’s hotel room and knocks on his door

the first thing jenson sees is seb’s angry face and he knows he messed up lol

seb’s yelling at him, trying to understand why he’s been avoiding him (bc deep down he worried that if jenson had died today, he would’ve never known why) and maybe jenson braked too early, and seb is technical. so he’s like “how could you have been so reckless”

and at this point seb is just yelling to get all of his pent up frustration out, even if he’s not saying what he really wants to

but then he notices jenson wincing

and seb, the man with no concept of personal space when it comes to jenson, steps forward and pulls his shirt up

and jenson’s bruised, bc he only crashed a few hours ago

and automatically seb calms down, fingers running gently over the bruises, and just stares silently

jenson reaches out to grab his wrist, just to have an excuse to touch him and tells him “they’re not as bad as they look”

seb just rolls his eyes “well, they look horrible so they must hurt a bit”

and just to antagonize him, he lightly pokes at one of them to watch jenson wince

so seb spends a couple of hours helping jenson take care of the bruises and jenson’s just like “i was cleared by medical” and seb replies “just let me help you”

they fall asleep curled up on jenson’s bed after talking for hours

even if they didn’t get to talking about why jenson was avoiding him, or about their feelings—

everything was gonna be okay

He laughs again, Jenson catching his left ear between his teeth, heat sparking low and rolling in his stomach, and when he comes, Jenson’s smile is pressed against his mouth, Sebastian’s hands in his hair.

Sebastian’s skin welcomes his touch, recognizes the words even with Jenson’s terrible penmanship. “I’ve always wanted a tattoo,” he says, words smudging soft with sleep. He has two minutes left in him before the world slides and gives way to dreams. Even so, he imagines branding himself with Jenson’s mark in a way that will no longer be temporary. Black ink on beige, a ring on a finger.

Jenson’s hand slips under the sheets to find his, and he interlocks them together in a way that speaks of permanence. “Right here?”

Sebastian savours the feel of circles being drawn around his fourth finger. “Right here,” he agrees.

I'm having a mental block night because I'm tired and I feel guilty not having posted any fics lately so I'll gladly babble about headcanons 🥺

Seb/ Kimi

They have worn every variation of ' I'm with stupid' 'I'm stupid' t-shirts in multiple languages while drunk

To annoy Mark and Jenson, they will communicate either in Finnish or through gestures and facial expressions that no one but them understand

Outside of Jenson, Kimi is the person Seb feels most comfortable around drunk

Kimi has scared off everyone that tried to hit on young drunk Seb just by standing nearby and glaring so Seb could dance in peace

Seb didn't even have to ask Kimi to be his best man, Kimi just showed up and had plans for a bachelors party and suit fittings already booked

Once when Kimi was drunk he told Sebastian he loved him more than his wife but she was prettier so he had to marry her

Sebastian has woken up multiple times to a drunk Kimi in his house. He took away his key. He still gets in. Seb is confused but has given up trying to figure it out

Kimi always looks for Seb first if they get separated on a night out

They have once, due to absinthe, been found hugging each other and babbling nonsense over mcdonalds nuggets

Sebson

Notorious for PDA sober or drunk

Seb had given Jenson a lap dance.....multiple times in front of the others

Jenson doesn't mind, he encourages Seb's bad behaviour

Jenson gets a tattoo of a rising sun over his heart because Seb is his 'sunshine'

Seb cries when Jenson reveals he was learning German so he could understand Seb when he tiredly or drunkenly rambles in German

Their first I love you was said at 4am in the morning when Jenson was sick and Sebastiam stayed up to look after him

When drunk they act as if they're going 4o die if they go more than half an hour without being near the other

Kimi and Mark

They have a silent friendship

Mainly they raise eyebrows, shake heads, and sigh at the things their friends get up to over drinks

Kimi once threatened Mark when he thought Mark was messing with a young Seb who had a crush on Mark

Mark appreciated Kimi's concern for his friend even if he told Kimi to 'get fucked you cunt'

They aren't close friends, but respect each other

Kimi and Mark coordinate before nights out to make sure someone has emergency first aid and snacks and Mark knows what food to pick up the next day

They grew to appreciate each other

Occasionally they send each other memes via text but never actually speak to each other

True! I mean yeah we’re not “owed” any interactions between them (also worth remembering that even if they’re not seen together during the race weekend that doesn’t necessary mean they didn’t interact with no cameras around or text or whatever). From a fan’s and content creator’s perspective though it would be nice to get some new footage. That’s all. Because I have ideas for new content I just don’t want to reuse the same footage endlessly and that’s kind of what ends up happening with the limited resources that we have.
