Hey so, care to share any of the mood boards and /or playlists that I'm 99% sure you have your your next gen marvel universe?

Okay, I know you sent this like yesterday morning, but you’re asking for me to share a piece of a universe that @justanotherwannabeclassic and I have been developing since…July? Which is insane but I made my first post about our Earth-6828 universe on the 26th July 2019. We have an estimated ninety-three characters for this universe that categorized as a next generation or involved in the next generation narrative. Ninety-three characters. Nine. Three. It’s insane. WE’RE INSANE. We created an entire universe over the course of a half year.

Anyway, with that many characters, I don’t think it’s possible to share everything on the internet involving them. So, I’m gonna focus on the OG team - the Daughters of Liberty. They’re the catalyst for Earth-6828 universe and they’re eleven women from different backgrounds and skill sets. We deliberately made a all-female team that’s diverse and we really have fun playing with them. So I’ll share some mood boards and playlists that I made for them.

NOTE: Please note that when I make playlists, I’m a weirdo with very specific rules. I make playlists made of songs sung by the genre of music I think the character would listen to, in the gender they identify with and I only do one song per artist. So, a character like Bekka who likes old school country and jazz, she’s a big fan of Duke Ellington and Miles Davis and Wendy Nguyen who is folksy really likes the Lumineers and the Mountain Goats but neither of those artists are featured on those lists because both characters are female and I like to think of the songs as being from their perspective. It’s really weird but I feel the need to make the disclosure.

I’m gonna put this under the cut because this is gonna be LOOOOONG. Also, if you’re interested in other characters and nuances of the universe, you’re also welcome to hit up not just me but also Shea because she’s done some amazing work too.

Valeria “Val” Richards

Val Richards is an Earth-616 canon character and the daughter of Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) and Susan Storm (Invisible Woman). She’s the smartest woman in the world and holds more degrees than she knows what to do with. She’s constantly working on a new degree and really hates the amount of condescension she gets sometimes from people who don’t believe how smart she is and underestimate her. It’s half the reason she’s involved with the team - she wanted to show that she and the women she works with shouldn’t be underestimated. She’s the team coordinator and is the most tech savvy. She’s known for drinking her weight in coffee, listening to Led Zeppelin on full blast and always having her hands in one project or another. She has a habit of never going to bed because she’s constantly involving herself in a project and because she’s constantly blasting music, her hearing isn’t always the best. She constantly has people repeat things since she often can’t hear them. Though she’s not involved with the family business, she’s got a great relationship with her parents and especially her brother, Franklin, who is without a doubt her hero. She’s a part of the LONGEST slowburn I’ve ever written and it took SIX YEARS for her and the team empath Wendy to get together.

Val’s Playlist: Classic and Hard Rock, this is the type of music that Val generally listens to when she’s in the lab. It features Lita Ford, Pat Benator, Joan Jett and The Pretty Reckless. I think shows a lot of her attitude and some of her anger.

Eleanor “El” Rogers

El Rogers is an Earth-85826 canon character and the daughter of Steve Rogers (Captain America) and Sharon Carter (Agent 13). She is a professionally trained spy and is a specialist in various forms of combat. Though she offered the mantle of Captain America to Dani Cage, she is very proud of her father’s legacy and sometimes nags Dani on how she should handle things, which sometimes leads to some contention between the two. Prior to the starting the Daughters of Liberty with Val Richards, she was a SHIELD agent and often known as “Espionage Barbie.” Growing up in the spotlight, she’s a gifted and knowledgeable public relations specialist and has more than a few headaches trying to manage this team and the array of personalities she deals with. Despite her PR skills, she’s naturally more introverted and prefers to spend her time with her close friends and working on her art. Though she’s more like her mother, she did inherit Steve’s sense of justice and morals while also keeping questionable company seeing that she often finds herself in some morally grey company, namely a couple of rebellious Southern mutants and three SHIELD trained professional killers. Most people often see El as perfect but she is riddled with anxiety and constantly beats herself up for not living up to people’s expectations. Before her father’s death, she was seen as very upbeat and friendly, but has been much more subdued and even more argumentative. She’s incredibly stubborn, which often gets her into epic fights with Dani and Meredith, as well as the leaders of the Avengers (Sonny Stark) and X-Men (Olivier LeBeau).

El’s Playlist: El is very much a pop music kinda girl, but her playlist comes with a bit of a twist of her anxieties, depression and desires to live up to that expectations that have been put on her. It features Taylor Swift, Elle King, Demi Lovato and Ruelle.

Danielle “Dani” Cage

Dani Cage is an Earth-616 canon character and the daughter of Luke Cage (Power Man) and Jessica Jones (Jewel). She’s the current Captain America and it’s a job she’s very ambivalent about because as much as she is honored by being bestowed the title, it comes with a lot of pressure and criticism which Dani is not great with. Due to her super strength and invulnerability, she rarely uses the iconic Captain America shield which is one of the many things she gets criticized for by El. Like her parents, Dani is tough as nails, a little rough around the edges and swears like it was its her job. Despite her short fuse, Dani has the biggest heart of them all and tends to come from a place of compassion rather than a place of judgment. This doesn’t stop her from being one of the sassiest members of the Daughters of Liberty however. When she’s not shouldering her duties as Captain America, Dani is working out her frustrations in the gym through boxing and acting as a volunteer for the Harlem Boys and Girls’ Club. Dani is a creature of habit. She goes to the same gym that she’s gone to since she was a little girl despite having a gym in HQ, she eats the same thing for breakfast and orders the same thing whenever she goes out for dinner. Her teammates often make fun of her because of this habit, but with all the stress in her life, she clings to these habits as a source of comfort and normalcy. Dani is best friends and incredibly close to Lucy Rand, who is about 85% of her impulse control. Sometimes the only thing keeping Dani from punching out her teammates and the occasional reporter is Lucy.

Dani’s Playlist: Her playlist is the perfect workout playlist because it’s intense and high energy R&B, Hip-Hop and Rap songs. It’s an ode to black excellence and being unapologetically awesome. It features Beyonce, Cardi B, Lizzo and Salt-N-Pepa.

Lucy Rand

Lucy Rand is an Earth-21722 canon character and the daughter of Danny Rand (Iron Fist) and Misty Knight. She’s a highly skilled martial artist and gifted detective. While Val might be the most intelligent person in the world, Lucy is skilled at picking up social and culture nuances quickly and reading people despite not having empathy and psychic abilities. Despite having great tragedy in her life and losing her parents at a young age, she’s a very positive person who tends to do her best to make any difficult situation manageable. Lucy’s anger rarely comes out but when it does, it usually is when people disregard the sacrifice her parents made. Though privately, she’s very upset with them for not being there for the major events in her life and though Luke Cage and Jessica Jones had a big hand in raising her, they are not her parents. She has a permanent job at handling Dani’s short fuse but she wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. Like Dani, Lucy is very involved the community, but she has a lot of other outlets including knitting hats and managing the Instagram of her favorite little gremlin - her hairless cat Dobby. Lucy is the type of person who tends to put the focus on everyone but herself, something that the team does their best to curb. Very rarely is Lucy in any photos, mainly because she’s normally the one taking them. While she’s not field commander like Dani and El, she’s certainly the team negotiator when it comes to arguments. Needless to say with the amount of big personalities on the team, there is a fair share of fights she needs to break up and while Dani might be her best friend, Lucy’s most trusted companion is her jumbo sized bottle of migraine reliever pills.

Lucy’s Playlist: Like Dani’s playlist, Lucy’s playlist features a lot of black excellence, but completely genre. Like Lucy herself, it’s a playlist with a lot of Soul and with a focus on fluidity rather than high energy. It features Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone, Whitney Houston and Ari Lennox.

Rebecca “Bekka” LeBeau

Bekka LeBeau is an Earth-41001 canon character and the daughter of Remy LeBeau (Gambit) and Anna-Marie LeBeau (Rogue). She inherited her father’s kinetic manipulation and her mother’s enhanced durability and flight. A complete Daddy’s Girl, she’s an incredibly gifted thief and has a penchant for using her abilities to blow shit up. However, instead of using playing cards, Bekka’s weapon of choice is…random objects from the dollar store? Don’t be surprised to see this chick throws weaponized plastic army men or marbles at your face. Despite her charisma, revolving door of men and natural extroversion, Bekka rarely opens up to people nor does she let people get close to her. This is a result of a very traumatic event in her childhood that completely changed both of her and older brother’s lives and caused her mutation to develop early at the age of eight. Due to this, she often suffers from nightmares and can be seen putting her absurdly gifted baking skills to work in the middle of the night. She’s the unofficial chef of the team and has introduced the team to a lot of Cajun cuisine. She’s a proud New Orleans girl and prepared to stomp your Southern stereotypes out of you. A running gag with Bekka is that despite being a very observant person, she is a penchant for refusing to see what’s right in front of her if she doesn’t want to see it such as her brother and best friend hooking up or that a certain ginger SHIELD agent is madly in love with her.

Bekka’s Playlist: Like Bekka herself, her playlist is a mixture of old school, new old and a little bit of subtle darkness. It has a mixture of Old School jazz, Classic Country and Southern Rock. It features Billie Holiday, Delta Rae, Dolly Parton and Gin Wigmore.

May “Mayday” Parker

Mayday Parker is an Earth-982 canon character and the daughter of Peter Parker (Spider-Man) and Mary Jane Watson. She inherited Peter’s enhanced physiology and wall-crawling abilities. While Mayday has her father’s intelligence, smart mouth and penchant for science, she’s more of an athlete than a nerd. She’s an avid lover of basketball and even played two years of Division Three basketball at Empire State University. She is a very frustrated New York Knicks and New York Mets fan and is often antagonized by Dani Cage, who has a tendency to be a very obnoxious Yankees fan. Though Mayday has a spot on the Daughters of Liberty team and often works outside the team as a research chemist, she has struggled with her identity since she stopped playing basketball. While she is currently Spider-Girl, she always views it more as her continuing her father’s work rather it being her own thing. Despite being incredibly bright and formidable fighter, Mayday also struggles with a lack of confidence and anxiety. She is often makes sarcastic jokes and often at her own expense. Mayday is loyal friend and often agonizes over the fact her superhero duties sometimes make her break her promises to her friends and family. However, she’s found a good support system in her girlfriend Nancy Lu, a telekinetic member of the X-Men and in her mentor, Val Richards. Though she is seven years older, Mayday often mothers her younger sister Annie, whom she sees as reckless and impulsive.

Mayday’s Playlist: This playlist is a mixture of Alternative and Rock music. It has a lot of songs that deal with self-esteem and discovering who are you is enough. It features Paramore, Avril Lavigne, Halsey and P!nk.

Anne “Annie” Parker

Annie Parker is Earth-18119 canon character and the daughter of Peter Parker (Spider-Man) and Mary Jane Watson. Like her sister, she inherited her father’s enhanced physiology and wall-crawling abilities but that’s where their similarities end. Like her mother, Annie is an incredibly outgoing personality. With her love for pink, glitter and partying, most people look at Annie and think of her nothing more than an empty-headed party girl who does stupid shit and has nothing to add to the conversation. Wrong! Annie has one of the world’s highest IQs and is usually the smartest person in the room. She’s gifted in both sciences and mathematics. At the start of the story, she’s a student at Empire State University and is pursuing two degrees in Mathematics and Physics. She’s got an endemic memory which helps her manage her schoolwork, hero work and social life. Annie wasn’t initially invited to be a part of the team, but Mayday convinced Val and El to bring her on in hopes of curbing Annie’s partying. She’s a bit of hedonist and often does things to an excess. Since she was a child, Annie has been known for her bubbly attitude and infectiously positive attitude. This was developed at a young age as she rarely saw her older sister happy (not understanding that her sister suffered from depression and anxiety) and she made it her personal mission to make Mayday smile. Annie is a fearless girl with a big heart who doesn’t often think before putting herself in harm’s way, which unknowing stresses out her older sister more.

Annie’s Playlist: This playlist features a lot of Pop, Hip-Hop and Dance music. It’s high energy, upbeat and makes you just want to have a good time. Honestly, a good chunk of these songs have featured on RuPaul’s Drag Race as Lip Sync for your life songs. (Annie is a massive RuPaul fan). It features Arianna Grande, Britney Spears, Rihanna and Tove Lo.

Meredith “Mere” Pryde

Meredith Pryde is an Earth-41001 canon character and the daughter of Piotr Rasputin (Colossus) and Kitty Pryde (Shadow Cat). She inherited her mother’s phasing power, tech skills and ability to make epic callouts. She inherited almost nothing from her father, whom she doesn’t really remember since he died when she was young. She was raised mainly by her mother and her aunt Illyana Rasputin. Meredith joined the Daughters of Liberty so she didn’t have to deal with her brother Cameron second-guessing all of her choices and telling her to calm down. When Meredith sees injustice, she does her best to correct the situation and she doesn’t care who she has to call out. When she’s not doing work for the Daughters of Liberty, Meredith is active activist who is involved in various projects but especially on mutants’ rights. She attends and supports every march she can and her instagram is full of all her favorite protest and march signs that she sees. Aside from being involved in activism, Meredith’s second favorite activity is trolling her teammates, especially those who tend to be nonplussed about things. She’s notorious for her pranks and for playfully flirting with her teammates’ siblings to make them uncomfortable, namely Bekka. While she’s a notorious flirt, she has no interest in relationships and will punch you in the face if you ask her if she has a boyfriend or girlfriend. Though she is involved with the Daughters of Liberty and various movements, Meredith often suffers from loneliness because she doesn’t have a lot of time for herself and fostering her friendships. She’s every girl’s friend, but no one’s best friend.

Meredith’s Playlist: This playlist highlights Meredith’s confidence and unapologetic nature. She is who she is, and you can take it or leave it. It’s an eclectic list which has mixture of Pop Rock, Pop, Alternative and R&B music. It features Superchick, Billie Eilish, Lily Allen and Icona Pop.

Wendy Nguyen

Wendy Nguyen is a character Shea and I made up, she is not related to anyone. Shocker. She’s a licensed therapist who often treats other superheroes and was actually assigned to El Rogers after the death of her father. She is an empath who is capable of sensing people’s emotions and when she touches them, she gets not only your emotions but your thoughts and even your memories. Her senses are incredibly strong and she often cannot be in the same room when someone is feeling things a bit too strongly, particularly her teammate Maya Ayala during the team’s first year together. Because she feels people’s emotions so strongly, Wendy is often confused whose emotions she is feeling - hers or someone else’s. This is one of the reasons it took her so long for her to admit her feelings for Val. Wendy is often seen as a quiet and thoughtful person who does her best to make her teammates confront their feelings for both her sake and theirs. She has an affinity for tea and has the world’s most absurd tea cabinet which is filled with tea from all over the world from her many travels. She also as an affinity for butterflies, which she views as being similar to human emotions - intense, sometimes beautiful but fleeting and fragile. Wendy often wears gloves to keep herself from accidentally touching others and taking their thoughts and memories without their permission. The ethics of her ability sometimes is a struggle for her since while they allow her to be good at job, however she feels them without control or consent from others. She rarely goes out with her friends in public areas mainly because being around so many people who are feeling a variety emotions is too much for her and causes her to have splitting headaches.

Wendy’s Playlist: Best described as folksy and acoustic. Wendy prefers most chilled out music because feeling others’ emotions can be very overwhelming. However, there’s a range of emotion here because she feels a lot. It features Of Monsters and Men, Regina Spektor, Jolie Holland and Hannah Connelly.

Yasmin “Yas” Khan

Yasmin Khan is a character Shea and I made up, she’s the niece of Kamala Khan (Miss Marvel). Like her aunt, Yasmin has Inhuman heritage alongside holding Pakistani and African heritages from her parents, Aamir and Tyesha. She was exposed to the Terrigen Mists and gained abilities similar to her father in which she can create psychic force fields, however she also has telekinesis and touch-telepathy. Yasmin is a practicing Muslim and while most of the women don’t wear hijabs nor expect her to wear one, she often feels to try and normalize Muslim practices in a society that is suspicious and often hateful towards her culture. She likes to joke that it covers up her bad hair days. Yasmin loves fashion and color, and though she is often the most modest wearing person in the room, she is definitely the most colorful and enjoys outrageous patterns. She is a big lover of pop culture and can often be seen playing Pokemon Go and watching shows on Crunchy Roll on her phone. She has a massive sweet tooth and can be seen in the kitchens watching Bekka bake in hopes of being allowed to have a bite. Though she doesn’t drink, she is best friends with Annie and often accompanies her on nights out and makes sure her friend doesn’t get into any trouble. Yasmin is one of the few people who isn’t out with her personal identity and this is mainly due to her fear of people hurting her family due to the rampant Muslim prejudice in the United States. As one of the youngest members of the team, her teammates are incredibly protective of her and have actually a designated plan ready to cheer her up if they ever see Yasmin is upset, which is called Operation: Yas Smiles.

Yas’s Playlist: Like Meredith, Yap’s playlist is very colorful and has a diverse range of generics from R&B to Soul and Rap. It has a range of emotions since while Yas is a very cheerful person and absolute sweetheart, there’s some anger there at how she and other Muslims are treated. It features Mona Haydar, SassyBlack, Daya and Azealia Banks.

Maya Ayala

Maya Ayala is a character Shea and I made up, she’s the daughter of Hector Ayala (White Tiger) and the niece of Ava Ayala (White Tiger). Nothing happy ever happens to the Ayala family and unfortunately that saga continues with Maya, who witnessed her entire family and boyfriend being murdered in front of her during a shoot out in the Bronx. She took up the mantle of White Tiger and has been on a search to find their murderer. Before becoming the current incarnation of the White Tiger, Maya was a former competitive gymnast who was almost on the United States Olympic team and was working as a gymnastics coach. However, since the incident, she’s put all of her energy into getting revenge for her family and joined the Daughters of Liberty to honor her aunt and to use her resources to get justice. While her focus is on revenge, her greatest desire is to see her family and her boyfriend again. At the beginning, she kept herself from her teammates because she didn’t want to get attached, but after awhile, she became very close with Wendy, Val, Dani and Lucy. Maya has a secret love for telenovelas which she tries to keep quiet because she’s afraid of being seen as stereotypical. Despite this, she’s very proud Latina and gets pissed off when people write her off as “Mexican” or “foreign,” especially since her family hails from Puerto Rico and she’s just as American as anyone else. However, occasionally she does share her culture with the others, and occasionally makes arroz con gandules and pollo guisado with Bekka for the team.

Maya’s Playlist: This is list is a mixture of Latin Pop, Alternative and R&B. It holds a mixture of Maya before the loss of her family and after. A lot of the latin pop are from gymnastic routines she would create. However, there’s also a lot of anger and sadness here, which is understandable. It features Audri Nix, Ciara, Lana Del Rey and Skylar Grey.

Some screen caps from Chop Suey. Truth be told, though I knew about Ian Svenonius’ involvement back when I got the game, I’d forgotten about it over the years. (I mean, I hadn’t played the game or seen anything about it since, probably, ‘99?) But as I was playing it yesterday, two things stood out to me. Dooner--pictured in the third screen cap from the top--and the beatnik fireflies, pictured fifth from the top. Yesterday, I looked at Dooner and thought: “Oh wow, look at that retro sorta-mod hipster boy, he looks like he should be listening to The Make*Up or something.” (Side note: I totally had a vague sort-of crush on Dooner when I played the game at age 13-15, I remember thinking, god, I wanna meet a boy like that. Reader, I met many boys like that, and most of them were disappointing.) And then, as I clicked on the beatnik fireflies, I recognized the voice of the one who said crazy. I thought: “I am 99% certain that is none other than Ian F. Svenonius.” I remembered that Brendan Canty had done the music, and that Theresa Duncan had been part of the DC punk scene, so I thought it was certainly probable. And then, while watching the credits at the end of the game, I saw that Ian was the fucking illustrator! Like I said, I’d forgotten, and I laughed when I saw his name there. It’s kind of funny and awesome when I think about the fact that Ian S. and stuff he’s made or been part of making has been an important part of my life for well over two decades, now.

A visit to your Facebook page yields similar results, especially once people see you’re online. A second later, the house phone starts ringing, and the rest of your family snaps out of their collective stupor. Mom leaps up to grab the phone, Erik and Carlie crowd around you, Dad storms out of the room...

“Are you okay?” That’s Erik, shaking your shoulder gently. “(Y/N)?”

“Yes, she’s right - " She pauses to glance back at you. " - oh, no, she’s in the shower. Of course, I’ll tell her you called - oh, I have a call waiting, can you hold? Hello? This is Mrs. (LN). Oh, (Y/N) isn’t available right now, but I’ll let her know you called…” The calls are coming in faster than Mom can field them, the texts flashing across your phone screen like gunfire.

“I’m fine.” Your voice sounds hollow, distant. Like it’s coming from someone else. Dimly, you’re aware of the fact that you’re standing up again, clutching your cell phone. You walk up the stairs, Carlie at your heels. You climb under the blankets fully clothed, not even bothering to turn off the lights, and, with your little sister huddled besides you, you close your eyes and try, try to sleep.

Thank God for best friends. If it weren't for Steven, you'd never make it through school alive.

"I can't believe your parents are making you go to school," he mutters. You shrug and nod, as if to say, I know, right?

As it is, you aren't too sure you will make it out of this building alive - sure, there are some girls that you are friendly with, some that support you, some that pity you (in the nicest way possible)...but you've received a handful of glances that carry more than a little malintent. Case in point: most of the girls in your eighth period chemistry class are too nice (or, at present, too focused on saponification) to glare or make snide comments. But at the lab table next to you, Lara Jennings is staring at you with such intensity, you're almost afraid her goggles will melt.

"Is it five minutes to passing yet?" you whisper. Steven's gaze flickers to his watch before he shakes his head, and you draw your lips into a pout. Steven, bless his soul, is pretending to have a sprained ankle so that you can be his book carrier and leave class early with him, thus saving you from those four minutes of passing period hell. In class, nobody can do much, but the hallways are fair game. As it is, there are some places you can't avoid, like the cafeteria, for instance. Or gym. I swear, if Annabelle Wilkes makes one more comment about how corseting is sure to do wonders for my figure, I will throw her stupid purse so hard it, it’ll end up in the boys’ locker room.

Not that Annabelle would mind. After all, it would be just another excuse to prance around the gym in her booty shorts and sports bra, whining to Coach, winking at whatever poor boy accepted the task of returning the pocketbook.

But you digress. You don’t take science with Annabelle; nor do you share a ninth period class, thank God. Finally, Steven raises his hand, and, upon receiving a nod from the teacher, limps to the hallway. You follow after, sighing in relief when the door shuts behind you.

Steven falls into a normal gait besides you. “One period left.”

You groan. “Oh, God…”

He grimaces apologetically. “Sorry.”

“What? No need to apologize. I’m, like, super psyched,” you whisper back sarcastically.

“Really?”

You roll your eyes. “No, genius. I’m freaking out. You really think I want this?”

“No. But it looks like you’re alone on that one.”

You push open the door to the stairs. “Huh?”

As if on cue, Anna Wilke’s nasally voice rises up through the stairwell. “...totally hot, from what I saw.”

One of her friends - Lydia, you think her name is - pipes up. “It’s the hair. Ugh, Bells, I’m so jealous! I literally missed the cut off by a week. So unfair.”

You freeze as they reach the landing. Annabelle gives you a disgusted once-over before plastering a faker-than-her-breasts smile on her face. She looks perfect, of course - auburn hair piled on top of her head in a strategically messy bun, scarf adorning her collarbone, her stick-figure physique enhanced by the water bra. “(Y/N), sweetie! So funny meeting you here!”

You grimace. Be polite. “Hi, Annabelle.” Honestly, if you weren’t in the same grade, you’d have no idea who she was. As it is, she never paid any attention to you until your name was drawn. Just another one of the many, many perks of being Chosen.

“I can’t believe you’ll be gone in - what? Less than twenty-four hours?” She looks not to you for confirmation, but to Lydia, who nods enthusiastically.

“Yeah, I’m, um, pretty nervous.”

She raises an eyebrow. “I can tell. Just a word of advice, from one girl to another, I’d lay off on the stress eating, all right? What’ll happen’ll happen. No point in worrying if King Loki will like you, because it’s never gonna happen, right?” Before you have a chance to respond, she looks to Lara and jerks her chin in the direction of the exit. “Anyway, toodles, and break a leg! Make sure you give us a shoutout!” She winks at Steven before sauntering out of the stairwell.

You turn to Steven with a look of disbelief, and he nods, looking equally as disgusted. “Did she just - ”

“Some girls think it’s exciting. You know, they want to be you.” He whacks your shoulder playfully. "She's intimidated of you."

You shake your head, glancing over your shoulder one last time. “That’s, like, revolting. And honestly, does she really think I’ve got any chance of becoming queen? I mean, what were the chances it was anyone from our class? From our school, even? Zero.” You throw your hands up in the air. "I'm sixteen! She's sixteen! I don't want to get married!" It feels good saying it out loud, and Steven does nothing to stop you as you continue to rant. "This whole situation is, like, stupid beyond belief. I should be focused on passing quarterly exams, and AP exams, and...okay, so I hate tests, but this is like an even bigger test, you know? I don't want people watching me try to not be noticed by 'His Majesty,'" you say, adding air quotes at the end. He shrugs. "And, and, like, why am I the only teenager? It's like, thirty, twenty nine, twenty seven, twenty five, twenty one, and then boom! Sixteen-year-old! What the hell?" Slightly calmer, you make to continue down the next flight of stairs, but… “Steven?”

“Yeah?”

You look down at your t-shirt and jeans. “Have I really gained that much weight?”

He rolls his eyes. “(Y/N)...”

“I’m serious!”

“First of all, just because I’m a guy doesn’t mean you get to make me into your sassy gay friend who you can go to for fashion advice, all right? I have a girlfriend. And, second of all, don’t let Annabelle Wilkes get into you head, all right?”

“Regardless of your sexual orientation, you are my sassiest friend by far, and I can and will go to you for fashion advice. And…” You sigh. “Thanks.”

He rubs your arm as you two head down the stairs, just as the first bell rings. In forty five more minutes, you will be back home dealing with the same obnoxious government officials who have been in and out of your house all week, finishing up last-minute paperwork, picking out a Transport Day outfit, and then tomorrow…

Well.

You don’t want to think about tomorrow.

Instead, you scrunch up your nose, thinking again about what Annabelle said. Really, I haven't been stress eating that much...

sleepwalks, is considered the “manliest” and can get quite nervous. he is the oldest and doesnt talk a lot but is quite wild, funny and random. really awkward and cries a lot. members tease him.

johnny seo (seo youngho), 23 (24 in korea), AMERICAN/KOREAN

is really good at parrot impressions and loves ten. first language was english (because he’s from chicago) but is just as good at korean. knows quite a bit of french/spanish/japanese. biggest boyfriend material and is the strongest of the group. can play the piano. is very talented and is very soft.

lee taeyong, 22 (23 in korea), KOREAN

is really adorable and soft even though he may not seem like it. is like a mother to the members and is a really good cook and cleaner. hates aegyo. bit of an introvert and doesnt talk much. constantly getting picked on for his “ty track,” especially by haechan. nicknamed TY (tee-why)

nakamoto yuta, 22 (23 in korea), JAPANESE

is probably the most dirty minded member. sassiest and the cutest. nicknamed “healing smile yuta.” loves to climb mountains and play sports, especially football. absolutely hilarious. taught winwin korean and is very close w the dreamies/foreign members.

qian kun, 21 (22 in korea), CHINESE

is a really good chef and good at magic tricks. plays the piano and guitar. roommates w lucas. not perfect at korean so the language barrier makes it a little awkward w everyone. is absolutely adorable and squishy. quiet. savage af but takes care of the younger chinese members.

kim dongyoung (doyoung), 21 (22 in korea), KOREAN

can play the flute. loves baking and was going to be a baker. jokes w jaehyun the most and groans in his sleep. just like taeyong, constantly nagging. relieves stress by jogging and loves valentines day. makes quite a bit of noise.

chittaphon leechaiyapornkul (ten), 21 (22 in korea), THAI

speaks fluent thai and korean. loves drawing, dancing and sports. a little random but really funny and quite confident. very very cute. is also very bubbly and energetic. really close w johnny, taeyong and mark.

jung yoonoh (jaehyun), 21 (22 in korea), KOREAN

lived in america for 4 years and has forgotten quite a lot of english but is learning again. was nicknamed “caspar” because of his fair skin and nicknamed “jeffrey” by johnny (because “he looks like a jeffrey”). is quite optimistic and smart. born on valentines day. very caring of other members and will always try to cheer them up. really sweet and funny, like a second mother to the group (after taeyong).

dong sicheng (winwin), 20 (21 in korea), CHINESE fluent in chinese obviously and mostly korean. was very shy w the members because of his ability in korean but is starting to open up now. members adore him and he’s really sweet. is an absolute savage.

kim jungwoo, 20 (21 in korea), KOREAN

he is very observant and a little quiet. close to mark and doyoung. is very calm. is quite humourous. good at imitating people. has a huge appetite. nicknamed “zeus”/“jungwoos”/“juwoos”

wong yukhei (lucas), 19 (20 in korea), CHINESE/THAI

knows cantonese, korean, chinese and english fluently. hobby is playing pc games. likes spicy food, not sweet. quite crazy. loves the dreamies (loves everyone tbh). extremely dorky and precious. insane.

mark lee (lee minhyung), 18 (19 in korea), CANADIAN/KOREAN

fluent in korean and english. close to taeyong and haechan. gets picked on by the dreamies. is very loving and sweet. really funny and is a quality meme. stubborn and hates aegyo. very protective of the dreamies. cannot cook to save his life.

huang renjun, 17 (18 in korea), CHINESE

18 in a couple of days!! (23rd). his korean name is hwang injoon. absolutely loves moomins with all his heart. knows korean almost as well as chinese and also knows quite a lot of english. very charming. helps translate for chenle when he’s stuck so they’re always together. very good at drawing and cooking. quiet, polite and very cheerful.

lee jeno, 17 (18 in korea), KOREAN

is allergic to cats. loves jaehyun and cars. he can play the violin and guitar. his favourite subject is science. mature and calm for his age but can sometimes come off as cold. dreams to be happy and works extremely hard.

lee donghyuck (haechan), 17 (18 in korea), KOREAN

is a very good cook and cleaner like taeyong. best friends w mark. makes fun of everyone at every chance he gets (especially mark and taeyong) and is a jokester. can play piano. mood maker; makes sure the atmosphere is always happy and fun and light. is definitely the loudest nct member.

na jaemin, 17 (18 in korea), KOREAN

nicknamed nana. loves sports, watching anime and cooking. has a very positive energy and vibe. is very cute and cuddly. takes short showers and has very prominent abs. eats apples every morning and relieves stress by listening to music. his mouth sometimes drops open when he doesnt notice.

zhong chenle, 16 (17 in korea), CHINESE

his korean name is jong jinrak. always next to renjun. has a laugh/scream like a dolphin, therefore always being called a dolphin. plays piano and is afraid of spiders. talks in mandarin in his sleep. is very mischievious.

very clueless a lot of the time. very good at football. shy, patient and loves to play pranks on the other members. quiet and doesn’t get angry easily.

hey there! omg welcome to the fandom c: sure sure, i will try my best to get you a small description of the boys, i hope you enjoy it. yeah, it’s totally fine to be honest and omg i’m glad to know that c: thanks for stopping by c: i apologize if this is very messy but i still hope you can get the main ideas out from this- let me just tell you that the original six members all have a mole on their neck- yes this information is very important...

hanbin / b.i.

hanbin is the leader of the group, he is not the elder of the group though and the other members have said that they are able to be where they are thanks to hanbin’s leadership. hanbin is however, very serious when it comes to work and he has stated before that out of the group, he’s the one who stays back later to work - he’s a workaholic; whenever he’s working he is pretty much strict with stuff to the point they call him tiger leader. apart from being the leader, he also works on the choreography, lyrics and what not- he has composed for other artists, other than his band (such as winner’s empty, together with bobby; he also took part on blackpink’s whistle, epik high’s born hater) i am not, under any circumstance saying that the songs are only hanbin’s creation though. he does write their songs but there are other people involved as well, either on the composing part or the lyrics. he’s also very dorkish and a bit shy sometimes. he has a huge passion for his little sister that has been present in the survivals he had been part of and the concerts as well. oh- he also has an obcession for mickey mouse haha and his favorite snack is probably pringles. he is called by his members gorilla / monkey and is a model for nona9on together with cl, bobby and blankpink’s lisa (i’m sorry if there’s anyone missing here). i’m sorry, i almost forgot his love for dogs- i had to state this.

jiwon / bobby

he’s the other rapper in iKON although he can also sing; he has composed songs for his own and also for iKON as well as for other artists (as stated, winner’s empty, took part in epik high’s born hater, hisuhyun’s i’m different). he is the winner of show me the money 3. he also debuted under the subunit MOBB, together with winner’s song mino. he is, as stated before, a model for nona9on. he’s the mood maker who’s 99% of the time all hyper - for concerts he is the party itself. he’s very close to his family and let me just say he is very charming. jinhwan and bobby are the ones who have been with hanbin since the begining, them being the very original team that later on had four other guys joining them. he does get along with everyone pretty well. he has an older brother and used to live in virginia, i believe; his family moved back to korea when he won show me the money 3 as he had promised to buy a house for them. he’s good at basketball, by the way. and has an obcession with winnie the pooh-

junhwe / junhoe

he’s the sassiest out of them. and he’s awkward as hell, tho he is aware of that. and i’m sorry but i gotta say this - he is probably the silliest out of them. he’s part of the vocal line, as well as the maknae line. in all honesty, is vocals are probably the easiest to distinguish from the group. oh and he is loud as hell. he had participated in kpop star (not sure of the season, sorry) and well, he has an undying passion for michael jackson. he’s also very good at dancing. i believe he took part in composing at least one of the songs in their album, rhythm ta it is. other than this, he’s the one to tease the other members and atcually mock them because he has no shame. okay, i didn’t say this haha. he has an elder sister

donghyuk

he’s a very smart, loving and sweet guy. has been part of jyp entertainment before joining yg entertainmend and team b. his father passed away when he was eight. he was part of the DEF company (just in case you wanna see him dancing, which you should because he’s life). he has a younger sister. omg lemme say that this cutie patootie hurt his beautiful foot on the last episode of mix and match. and he’s the paparazzi (dongparazzi) of the group. he also plays the piano and his voice is sweet like an angle’s- don’t try to deny it, fight me if you do- he’s a cutie and probably gets teased often. he offered his debut album to his late father as he promised he would when he visited him. and you gotta know that his laugh is life- lemme just- on bobby’s holl up, there’s donghyuk laughing and i feel like my life is complete. he also speaks english as he had studied overseas, in america, i think? i’m not totally sure about this-

yunhyeong

he has a huge passion for the nivea lipbam which got him to participate on a commercial. i had to start by here... he’s the closest to hanbin and junhwe (as he had stated he joined when junhwe did). he also has a sister that’s a model or something like that and a dog. out of everyone, he cooks the best as his family owns a restaurant. he is one of the most underrated members and he tends to keep his feelings to himself especially if he’s sad because he doesn’t want to worry the others tho he is always looking out for the group, making sure they’re alright. oh and he looks alike chanwoo...or better, chanwoo looks alike him so they are the monster twins- yunhyeong also likes pranking the others and he is pretty clueless when he is pranked- cue in that one time jiwon pulled a prank on him and yunhyeong was real lost. he’s mostly smiling as well, because that’s just how bright he actually is

chanwoo

he was the last one to join the original group. he is the maknae and a very kind person who hates crying in front of other people. he had improved a lot, both dancing wise and singing wise after the show and even though he was real closed and probably even akward, he is now more carefree to the point he goes around mocking the eldest, especially bobby (you gotta know they are natural enemies). he’s one of the tallest out of the group, together with junhwe but this kid- damn. he has an older brother and he was an actor and joined ikon to follow his dream. he had participated in tvxq’s balloons mv (i believe) when he was a kid, together with astro’s moonbin who’s his childhood friend. we need actor chanwoo tbh- he is the satan of the group the evil maknae

jinhwan

he’s the eldest and a very sensitive person who doesn’t like people fighting. he has a sister, not sure if younger or older. he participated on mari and i with b.i., a show where he roasted the living hell out of hanbin where he played with dogs and animals in general. he’s the shortest out of the group and gets teased about it, our little 13cm fairy- he has an heart shaped mole under his eye ermg- so cute tbh. also, he’s trustworthy and he was born in jeju so he loves the ocean and whenever they go there, they have to swim or he’ll nag at the members because coming to jeju and not going for a swim is like a sin- his vocals are very sentimental as well, he can easily express his feelings through the song and he is very funny too- he likes teasing his members a lot but then gets roasted and just yeah- poor him-

Hello and welcome back to Morning Mindset. I am your host Paul Markel, Thank you once again for taking the time out of your day to join me here for the Morning Mindset podcast, as I sit in front of this microphone and record today's episode. I was just recently, or just I don't know an hour or so ago, made aware of the passing of Marvel Comics Stan Lee.

Stan Lee was 95 years old when he passed away. I think that we can all say that Stan Lee probably lived a very, very full life. He was not taken from us in his prime, he wasn't taken from us too early. But regardless of that the fact the matter is when someone an icon like Stan Lee passes when he leaves this world leaves us all behind and makes us feel sad. I mean, I feel sad obviously, I didn't know Stan Lee personally.

I never met Stan Lee, but that really doesn't matter because Stan Lee has been a part of my life since. I don't know. I was since I was old enough to walk into a comic book store and give them 35 cents for a common core 45 cents or 50 cents. I don't remember what Comics were, how much they were when I was a little kid when I was 10 11 years. But I spent a lot of time in comic book stores.

There was one comic book store, in particular, that was located a few blocks, I don't know quarter of a mile from my house when I was growing up in Detroit and I would walk over there with you know, 50 cents or 75 cents in my pocket, and I knew I could only afford to buy one comic book that day.

You know, I had just enough in my pocket to buy one, and if you want to do a comic book shop in the 70s or 80s, there were hundreds literally hundreds and hundreds of titles available to, you know the Spider-Man and the X-Men and the Hulk and the Fantastic Four and the, you know, of course, I'm trying to keep it all Marvel. But of course there is Batman and there was all the other stuff. So there I am agonizing over which comic I'm going to buy with the 2 or 3 quarters. I don't remember what they were.

They were definitely way less than a dollar when I was buying comic books. But what was I going to buy was I going to take home with me? What story was I going to keep up with what storyline and I used to go back and forth between storylines like I would get hooked on whether it was a Spider-Man 1 or whatever and I would follow that story for a while and then I would get interested in something else get interested in.

I was very big into the X-Men comics when I discovered those, and I follow the X-Men story, The Saga of the X-Men. Angel and you know Cyclops and Wolverine, of course, Wolverine, maybe not of course, but Wolverine was my absolute favorite I think is probably most young boys young men as we were growing up. They idolized Wolverine because he was he was a sassiest smart-aleck, but he was he was strong and he you know did his own thing and he was his own boss and all that and how did.

This all became part of our lives. How did in a lot of you guys who are younger you 20-year-olds and 30-year-olds? You may not have ever hung around in comic book stores or comic shops, but the Marvel Universe was made real to you. Thanks to cinema, thanks to Hollywood. I think that we can all say that when we examine the life of Stan Lee that he lived a life. He had a life well-lived, and he left a legacy behind for millions of people now expect that you will be the next Stan Lee or anyone like him, but when someone like Stan Lee departs from us when they leave this earth and they leave us all behind we were in obviously we're sad we're glad for what he has left us.

You know, we're going to continue to enjoy. The heroes and the stories that Stan Lee created and he helped bring to life. You know, my grandchildren will probably be enjoying that you know, when they come around I don't have any grandchildren yet, but my son and his wife need to work on that, but I'm just saying the same thing as we examine a life well-lived. This gives us an opportunity for introspection that gives us an opportunity to look at our own lives and when it is time for you to depart from this earth when you have departed whether you depart early or late or meat medium or middle time or whatever.

It is Will others be able to honestly say about you if they were to describe you. Would they be able to say that you led a life well-lived? It's not that hard of a question. Not that difficult of a question. But it's a question. Nonetheless that we should all consider, you know when you leave this world will people be able to say about you that you know, if you leave early some people leave us far too soon Bruce Lee, you know Bruce Lee was in his early 30s when he left us. But even though he didn't live to you know, Stan Lee lived three of Bruce Lee's lifetimes, but both Bruce Bruce Lee and Stan Lee and they were not related by the way.

I don't believe they were related in any way, but we can say about both those individuals that they low they lived a life well lived before, how'd you take some coffee or something? So when it's time for you to go? And and you depart and leave all of us behind will people be able to examine your life and honestly be able to say that you lived a life well-lived you had and you led a life well lived in shape all you know, you can't expect everyone to be Bruce Lee or Stan Lee or and I didn't mean to just pick out those to lie people there, but just jump to the Forefront of my mind.

Do you expect that? No, I don't but what we all have the opportunity to do now, you know when someone like that passes is to look at our own lives and think about you know, when we go, what are we doing with our lives today, and it's a serious question. We're talking, you know Morning Mindset, we talked about being positive and productive leaving leading positive and productive lives. So as you go about your day as you go about your week as you make your plans think about that.

Are you making the most of the time that you have available to you? And I'm not talking I'm going to tell him you that you can never watch television. I'm not telling you that you can never relax and just do nothing and veg out now. I'm not saying that at all, but what do you do with your creative moments? What do you do with the time that you have available to you?

This question the only you can answer but. When I when someone like this, you know every once in a while and we lose someone, you know, last year. We lost Gene Wilder and I was a huge fan of Gene Wilder's films and we lost him but we could say that he lived a life. Well, let he led a life well lived. So that's all I've got to say to you guys today. I just thought I would come to the radio come to the microphone and talk about my own personal feelings and how I am glad that Stan Lee was in this world.

I'm glad that he produced what he did it gave me a lot of joy in my youth and of course as I became an adult I was able to take my children to see the film's the Spider-Man films the X-Men films, you know, the Captain America films and all of that and it's something that I've enjoyed with my children basically their entire lives. So thank you, Stan Lee. Thank you for everything you left behind for us. Alright, ladies and gentlemen, that's all I have to say today.
