I'm about to set asian activism back 20 years but tbh I don't mind when white people are a little too into asian stuff. like those koreaboos that say "omo!" and "jinjja?" and their twitter DNs are like their english names written in hangul. idk I think they're funny and endearing in a certain stupid little way. it's when they're on the other end of the spectrum and refuse to acknowledge the korean-ness of the korean things they like that I get pissed off.

2 9 22 for the ask game <3
Ty for the ask!!!
2: (album of the year) for this I have to say fantastista. I think it's the only album I've listened to all the way through on purpose this year and it's also named after the first Käärijä song I listened to that wasnt Cha Cha Cha.
9: (best month of the year for you) this one was kind of hard because I don't even remember what happened yesterday but I think I have to say October with the last week in March-Early April being a close second. In October I was finally getting into the groove of uni, I had new friends and was having fun, it was my birthday, Halloween was coming up, it was just a vibe. And in March-April I did my last production with my high school theater group which was so fun, and then I went to visit my uni for an admit day which was also super fun :D
22: (favorite place you've visited this year) this year is actually one of the years that I've traveled the least, so there's really only one place I can say: Portland. Portland is where my uni is and a place I'm proud* to call my second home. It's been beautiful pretty much all year, and they actually have seasons here (unlike back home)!!!

Voltron - Golion is keeping me company while I work and - And.
(I don’t know about the english dub, but the italians are a bit, uh, interesting. As in “Woah, Zarkon, you are so chill” and “Haggar! You happy thing! How’s life?” or “They called the lions “damn cats!” again, awwwww”)

Maybe Home Isn’t Far Away At All (Aitana Bonmatí x Lioness!Reader)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Part one - The Begining Of Something New
Warnings/Notes: Slight physical abuse, Arguments, Slight portrayal of mental health issues.
Tumblr media
You had been a player at Arsenal for many years, having trained at the academy before getting the call up to the senior team. You’d easily made friends within the team, a lot of them being your fellow Lionesses. You had grown particularly close to Arsenal’s queen herself, Leah Williamson, and with her friendship you had gotten close with many of the older teammates.
If you weren’t with Leah and Lia, you could be found laughing with Beth, Steph, Katie, and Caitlin or causing havoc with Kyra. Not to mention the many times you’d sit just talking with Manu or in the dinner hall with Lotte and Alessia. Before Viv’s departure from Arsenal, you often sort her out too, particularly when you wanted to read quietly or take a quick nap.
Then there were your relationships outside the club, you were close with a lot of the lionesses, of course the girls previously mentioned, then the others through both your natural friendliness and their connection to your Arsenal teammates.
Most of the girls were easy to befriend, all the girls eager to welcome you when you had got your call up way back then. Of course, you had known the Arsenal members beforehand and known of the others through playing against them. Alessia and Ella vastly became your friends after seeing how well you got on with Mary, their teammate, and often you would join them to make silly TikTok’s or to joke around. There was never a dull moment with them, especially with Tooney’s knack for cracking jokes.
You had met Lucy on one of your first days, she had been quick to help you find your way around and offered guidance if you asked, something you had been eager to accept much to the older girl’s amusement. Leah had told you that you were like Lucy’s little puppy a joke that quickly made its way around camp much to your embarrassment and lucy’s amusement. The girls dubbing you “Pup” from then on to further annoy you, though Lucy most often simply called you “Kiddo.”
Speaking of your Arsenal teammate, Leah was who introduced you to her best friends Keira and Georgia. The former of the two was a little harder to befriend due to her being unsure of what to think of you. However, a swift talking to from Leah about how nice you were and how reliable and good of a player you are softened her resolve and soon you were always laughing and joking with the trio. The four of you chatting complete rubbish and finding the simplest of things hilariously.
As for Niamh and Bethany the two were quick to tease you eagerly making digs due to club rivalries though it was clear that they didn’t care at all that you were a die-hard Arsenal girlie. At least not while they were in camp, there growing friendships with you wouldn’t spare you any hard tackles, teasing or defeats by them come next season.
Then came the kids, as you called them, Aggie, and Grace. You had immediately offered support and help when they first moved onto the team. You remembered how you felt on your first day how daunting it had been. You remembered the crushing pressure you had placed on yourself and wanted to make sure the two of them were okay and had all the support they needed. You were very fond of the two thinking they were the sweetest and such hardworking girls.
--
You were nearing the end of your 4 year contract with Arsenal, having no plans to leave you had hoped to simply renew your contract and continue with the cosy life you had made for yourself. You were comfortable in your flat close to Leah and Beth, easy traveling distance from the training grounds. You had the most supportive and loving friends a girl could ask for, what could go wrong? A question you had regretted even thinking when you woke up this morning to an email from the club detailing that they wanted to meet. The email was brief and to the point they wanted you to come in that afternoon and discuss the ending of your contract. You tried to shake of the impending feeling of dread that filled you to your core, surely, they just wanted to discuss your renewal, there’s no way after all the years you’d dedicated to them they’d just sell you off… right? Of course not! You shook your head ridding yourself of your doubts deciding against bothering Leah or Beth with your worries, briefly debating asking Viv what she thought before backing out. You didn’t want to bring something up and risk upsetting her, due to her own recent departure, especially if it was nothing.
You quickly got ready, finishing your food, and rushing to shower and change into your gym wear planning to do an extra session at the training grounds since you’d be driving over anyway. The drive was fast, it always was, though something about today made it go impossibly quicker. The walk from your car to the meeting room felt like the blink of an eye, you were sitting in front of the head coach before you could think.
Your leg bounced as you sat in the chair, your fingers drumming against your thigh and your lip between your teeth as you chewed at it a sinking feeling in your chest as the words fell from his lips.
“-So, it is with a heavy heart Miss Y/n that we must not accept a renewal of your contract… We just don’t see where you fit into our plans going forward…” He went on, only half of his words truly sinking in, “… Few offers…. Barcelona…. Accepted…. Sorry...”
The rest of the meeting was short, you getting the information of your Barcelona transfer and the dates of when it would be made public knowledge. Not that you paid much attention simply nodding through your tears as he went on. You were on autopilot, the planned gym session long forgotten as you climbed back in your car, driving home in a blink before collapsing into bed not bothering to pick up your phone. The fact you should let the girls know not even coming to mind.
--
Two days. That’s how long you gave yourself to mope, wallowing in self-pity as you ignored the world. But Monday was here now, and you knew you couldn’t miss training, it would be unprofessional to do so. People move clubs all the time, you had to accept that your time at arsenal was up. As hard as that was to hear. Your morning routine was a blur, you spent it internally monologing and practicing what it was you were going to say to the girls, to Leah. You knew she would take it the hardest, but you also hoped she could understand after all it wasn’t like you were the first of her friends to leave and there’s no doubt you wouldn’t be the last.
When you pushed open the door to the changing rooms you were met with the usual chatter and buzz that came from the rowdy group of girls you called teammates. Usually, you would join in on the jokes and teasing but today you stood there dressing into your training gear quickly before scanning the room for Leah, only she was already halfway out the door when your eyes found her. Great. You huffed, quickly racing after apologising absent mindedly as you stumbled over someone’s bag, the only thought in your mind telling Leah before management did or the post went up.
The rest of training went a similar way, you trying to talk to her and something coming up. She was either doing treatment, being pulled for a chat by the staff or busy in training to the point she was dead to the world. You only hoped you could catch her after your shower, having gone in the second training was over and speedily washed and changed complete oblivious to the huddle around Leah in the corner of the changing room or how they were staring at a particular post from the Arsenal account.
It was only when you awkwardly shuffled in front of them shakily asking Leah if she could talk now that you realised what was wrong. The glare she shot you send a shudder down your spine as she leapt to her feet.
“Tell me your fucking joking!” She scoffed flipping her phone to show you, and you paled immediately recoiling and the sheer anger on her face. You looked to the others for help, but they all held their own expressions of anger or betrayal.
“L-Lee” you chuckled backing up slightly and she growls a little, and you swear you have never seen her so angry. At least not so angry at you, or anyone within your circle of friends.
“Tell me,” She chuckles darkly grabbing your shoulders a hard, hard enough they would bruise. It brings a pained whine from your lips, one that goes ignored by your best friend. “That you didn’t fucking leave Arsenal without talking to us, to ME!” She shoves you hard and you go stumbling back steadying yourself on the wall as you start trying to defend yourself.
“I-I-I- Leah! No- I didn’t want to- I was going to tell you! I was! You just-“ She raises a brow her features in utter disbelief her eyes full of anger, or was that… Hatred? You go to grab her hand, but she acts on impulse punching you in the face, hard enough so you stumble further back. A few of the girls gasping, Kyra moving to help but Steph grabs her shaking her head silently her mouth open slightly as Leah continues.
“I- I- No- No- UGH you sound like a fucking CHILD!” She laughs, her remark leaves you staring at her watery eyed in shock. One of your hands clutching your cheek as your lip wobbles. You don’t know how you feel from the pain in your cheek to the sheer embarrassment that fills you as you stand there like a lost scared child in front of the girls. Some turn away hurrying to continue to change and leave to avoid what’s happening, Leah has turned away completely ignoring your entire existence as Beth and Alessia help calm her down.
“Well? What ye waitn’ for?” You hear Katie yell, “Ye clearly not welcome, don’t embarrass ye self.”
Your cheeks flush as you feel your embarrassment grow when you realise you are still stood there, in a room of girls that obviously didn’t care what you had to say. They all thought you were a great joke. You scratch at your neck, an anxious habit of yours that you had picked up young and kept into your adulthood.
You kept your head down as you grabbed your bag, rushing to your car. You drove home straight away needing to get out of there, and fast. But the second you got home the dam broke, and your tears fell freely and loudly as sobs racked your whole body.
You didn’t know if you were crying from embarrassment, physical pain, or emotional pain. Thinking logically, it was more than likely all three. But right now, you couldn’t think about that, you couldn’t really think about anything. You lay there for days crying and whimpering as your body filled with shame and heartbreak.
You hardly realised how much your phone had pinged, messages from the girls expressing that you had blind sighted them. That out of respect to Leah and considering your lack of respect to let them know you were leaving, hell the fact you had told them you planned to renew, was just something they couldn’t look past right now. You planned to shut your phone off right then and there and melt away into the bed and just never get back up, and you would have done so had you not seen the next wave of texts.
Luce 🥉💙
Hey Kiddo, heard you were going to Barca! You couldn’t have told me yourself huh! Well don’t worry your little head, I’ll tell Ona to look after you, I think you might have met briefly before... But if not, don’t worry she’ll pick you up from the airport next week. I know you would have asked Keira... but after hearing about Leah and you from girls…
Luce 🥉💙
Anyway! Just don’t blow it yeah? Barca actually has standards you won’t get minutes just cause your best friend is Vice Cap. 😂
You roll your eyes at lucy’s message of course shed find a way to make a joke of it, she always managed to know when you needed her to cheer you up. Sending her a text of your appreciation and a slight jeer to her talking about standards and then joining Chelsea, knowing she knew you honestly did not care where she played because she’d thrive anywhere. You opened Niamh’s message next, already knowing she’d be taking the piss just as much.
Niamhy 😎💙
Really Y/N? You Couldn’t beat us at Arse-enal, so you just HAD to jump ship to Barcelona huh? 😂
No But good luck you big Idiot! And if Williamson gives you any more shit, I don’t mind Sorting it you know that 😏💪
You laugh properly at that, knowing that she fully would punch Leah if you asked her to, she really was that sort of friend. You were quick to reply that assuring her that you didn’t need any more drama, and you just wanted to get on with what was shaping up to be the transfer from hell already.
Ags 🦫💙
Barcelona? REALLLLLY? If you wanted a blue kit, you should have joined us, you know we always have our eyes on good players like you babe 😘
You chuckle when you read Aggies message the girl, ALWAYS flirting with you any chance she got. She had since the moment she had decided you were her friend during her first camp, and you covered for her when she was late. But the both of you have zero feeling for each other, it was just always amusing to get reactions out of the girls when you would quote on quote “be all over each other.”
You were about to close you phone and drag yourself for a shower, so at least when you inevitably slept the rest of the day away you could at least claim you had gotten up when you got a series of notifications. You went to Grace’s messages first.
Gracie 🌳❤️
Y/n!
OMG!
WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME!?
OH, NVM Tooney says you didn’t tell anyone…
Apparently Alessia is still pissed…. But Ella says she hopes you find what you’re looking for over there…
BUT
Y/N!! I’m actually gonna miss you! Good Luck!
You chuckle at the young United player’s messages, she really did have a heart of gold, and you always found yourself in awe of just how kind and thoughtful she was. Sending her back your own message, assuring her you’d visit and your place in Barcelona would always be open for her.
Then came Bethany’s Message. It surprised you honestly, the two of you were friends. You talked at England camps and were never shy from offering her help or training with her. But the thought that she might reach out had never really crossed your mind. Reading it though, you weren’t sure how to respond other than thanking her and assuring you’d not take any shit from your ex-teammates at Arsenal.
The BFG 😄🩶
Hey Y/N, I heard your transfer caused a little riot at Arsenal… I’m Sorry if they aren’t being supportive. You have to do what is best for you tho! And if they decide to be bitches next camp just come with me, yeah? 😊
The last message had stumped you originally until you read the first message, quickly changing the contact.
Unknown Number
Hiiiii, Its Ona! Lucy gave me your number I hope that’s okay? 😊
Ona 💙❤️
So, I need the date of your flight, the time you need picking up and then when you are here, I will sort everything…. Since Lucy has made a plan... 😂
She was realllllly worried you know… 🥺
Shed KILL me if she knew I told you so SHHHHH 😂
You smile as you read the girl’s messages, you’d gotten the impression she was a caring girl through Lucy’s lovesick rambles before, but seeing it made you realise just how nice she really was. You'd made a mental not to thank Lucy for leaving you in Ona’s care before shooting off a few replies to Ona. Details she’d asked for, a few teasing messages about Lucy, and your thanks and hopes that you weren’t bothering her. Your worries quickly brushed aside at the girls next set of messages. The reassurance of the messages made the pain in your heart a little lighter, and you found a soft smile settling on your face as you got up to shower.
--
The next week was spent packing and making final arrangements for when you would be over in Barcelona. Ona and Lucy being absolutely amazing through the whole process, they helped you with anything and everything you needed. With Lucy coming over to your apartment telling you what you would and wouldn’t need to take and Ona clearing out room in her guest bedroom and making sure her house was well equipped for the two of you.
You liked Ona quite well, at least the version of her you had gotten to know over the texts with her and of course the joint face times with her and Lucy. That didn’t, however, mean you weren’t still terrified about the move. You knew every detail, Lucy’s plan was of course thorough and well thought out. She’d never let you go to a new country and join a new team without any help or support. But with the day of your flight nearing, you just couldn't shake the feeling that everything in your life was going wrong. You couldn’t help fear that you’d be miserable in Barcelona.
The day of the flight you were a bag of nerves, your leg bouncing as you waiting to board your flight and once you sat in your seat you were restless, mind going a mile a minute as you debated just catching a flight right back to England once you landed. No. You couldn’t do that, your job was here now, and you’ve come all the way there anyway. Not to mention the weeks planning with Lucy and Ona and it’s not exactly like you could just let them have waisted all that time and effort.
Once you’re off the plane you grab your luggage and make your way through the airport to where you and Ona had arranged to meet. Once your eyes locked onto her you could see her waving enthusiastically, a grin plastered on her face. You chuckled hurrying over to her, surprised at the eagerness and force she hugs you with.
“Y/n! I am glad you got here okay! Let’s get you back to mine, yes?” she hums taking your luggage from you before you can protest and leading you to the car.
You take a deep breath to steady yourself, mentally psyching yourself up. With an affirmative nod to no one but yourself you step forward, following your new roommate. A step forward out of the airport and the first step into a new life. What could go wrong?

Your fingers hover over the brightly lit screen of your phone. Your friend, Katie, invited you to a barbecue at Toad Lake and assured you it would be a relaxed group. Just food, drinks, sun, and swimming. But how can it be relaxing if Joel is going to be there? If he was even invited. If he even shows up. He drives you insane. It’s her fault anyway.
Katie’s boyfriend was friends with Tommy. Tommy invited Joel to some karaoke night at a bar a few months back. That was the catalyst for your personal hell. You don’t even know why he showed up; he refused to sing anything. But he did offer to give you a ride home so Katie could leave with her man.
You were surprised by the gesture. The way he’d barely said anything to you all night made you think he wasn’t interested in remembering your name. But the way his shoulders filled out the green flannel he wore and then when he rolled up the sleeves? He was like The Brawny Man come to life. And that paper towel mascot lookalike was so your type. In fact, the way he nearly flat-out ignored you was also a turn-on but not one you thought your therapist would approve of. So when he offered a ride, you accepted.
You tested the waters on the ride home, attempting to make some small talk. He was different one on one. Charmed you with his sharp wit and some flirty compliments. You couldn’t tear your eyes off him, his hands, his arms, his profile, and his dark features in the glow of the streetlights. You lingered when he pulled up to the curb in front of your place.
“I’m glad you drove me home,” you said, “it was nice to get to know you a little bit.”
“Was nice,” he agreed dragging his thumb under his bottom lip, pulling your attention to his mouth,  “I’d like to get to know you a little more.”
You felt your cheeks warm at that and smiled back. “Would you like to come inside?” you floated the offer, and the look on his face sealed the deal.
But today, you haven’t heard from Joel in over a week. He doesn’t usually last much longer than two weeks before you find him at your door. He disappears just long enough that you start to build up the courage to tell him off for being a flake. The only reliable thing about Joel, though, is that when he does show up, he always leaves you feeling completely spent. What’s the harm in enjoying what he can do with his body? You don’t think you spend an unhealthy amount of time daydreaming about him.
You don’t want to anticipate seeing him at the lake and get disappointed if he’s a no-show. Instead, you’d rather your chest constrict with anxiety until Saturday while you debate sending him a text to ask him yourself. You decide against it. You don’t want to double-text since he never answered your last message anyway.
Saturday arrives quickly, and it’s the perfect day to be at the lake. Clear skies and hot sun. Your car is an oven as you slide your beach bag and cooler backpack into the backseat. You sit in the driver’s seat and roll down all the windows. You flip down the visor to look in the little mirror at your reflection.
It’s casual, you remind yourself. Just friends, food, and floating in the lake. You put on some waterproof mascara anyway, definitely not because Joel might be there. You look casual. You found your favorite black bikini last night and tried it on to make sure it still fits the way you like. Basic triangle top and bottoms with strings that tie on your hips. It still fits snugly but without cutting into your back or shoulders. It hugs everything in the right places and displays all the right skin. For your friends. At the casual barbecue.
You stare at yourself, practically pointing a finger at your reflection to drill the idea into your head. If he’s there, it doesn’t mean anything. If he wants to be nonchalant, you’ll be nonchalant even harder. And you’ll look good as you do. Give him a taste of the same rejection you keep experiencing.
Toad Lake is almost a secret. It’s small, outside of town, and private except for one small area with access to swimming and a small dock. When you and Katie lived together, you used to hit it up after work. Jumping off the dock unless there were people fishing. Or just floating near the shore with pool noodles while debriefing about the day.
You pull off the main road onto the winding gravel road that takes you to the public access. It’s dense with trees and full of potholes. You bounce along in your car, listening to the gravel crunch under the tires.
Parking is tight. The first lot only fits five or six cars on the gravel spots, and past that, maybe another seven or eight would fit in the dirt spots. You recognize most of the cars already parked as you pull into one of the furthest spots. You don’t see Joel’s truck, and your stomach drops with a wave of disappointment as you pull in between someone else’s truck and a jeep. You don’t want to think about him or feel let down.
There’s a short but steep and winding path that leads to the water. You round the corner, finally able to see through the trees to the beach, and recognize him immediately. The unmistakable frame of Joel Miller. The shape of his body and that signature stance. You’d recognize him by the back of his head in a crowd with one eye closed. Butterflies stir in your stomach, and at the same time, your throat feels dry.
He’s such a dick, you think as you trudge down the path in your sandals. Maybe you should ask him if his phone still works. No. That would blow up in your face. You’d just be broadcasting that it hurts when he rejects you. You do not want to face that fear. Maybe coming here was a total mistake. Regret and fear claw viciously at your throat with each step you take.
Joel seems to dance around you, just avoiding being on your path as you greet everyone and catch up. Tommy is friendly and chats with you for a moment before getting Joel’s attention, forcing you to interact.
“You remember Joel, right?” he asks.
You laugh brightly. “Of course, the one and only,” you say with a smile.
Joel nods at you. Doesn’t even say a fucking word. His dark brown eyes just bore into you for the longest second before giving you a curt smile. Tommy laughs at something while Joel turns away to find something to look busy with. Or someone. You gawk briefly as you watch him turn to chat with some woman you don’t know.
Blowing you off on your attempts at dates is one thing, but acting like he doesn’t even know you? What the fuck is with this guy? Who’s the woman he seems so friendly with?
You remember how to close your mouth and decide to set up your spot along the beach. You strip off your T-shirt and adjust the straps on your bikini. Rifling through your bag for some sunscreen, you find the lotion first. Smiling to yourself, you imagine asking Joel to help get your back. Would he refuse? Would his lady friend be jealous? You actually don’t want to know. You dig around until you find the spray sunscreen. You don’t need a man applying any cream to your back.
You swear you feel his eyes burning into you, but when you look around, he’s turned and talking to her. Whatever. You figure it’s safest for your sanity to head straight for the water. You grab your pool float and start to blow it up. You feel that burning sensation again, but you turn, and he’s busy swigging down a drink. You grab one for yourself, and with a drink in one hand and the pool float under the other arm, you march right into the water. It’s perfect. Just warm enough, it doesn’t shock your system. Cool enough to ease the oppressing heat of the sun.
“The water is perfect! Why am I the only one in here?” you call to Katie.
“Alright, I’m coming!” she calls back.
You laze in the water for most of the afternoon. Chatting with friends, cheering on a wobbly friend learning to stand on a paddleboard, and just resting peacefully.
Joel sits in a beach chair, observing. You stare back under your sunglasses, hoping it’s not noticeable. Your thoughts spiral again. What is his issue? You aren’t good enough? He doesn’t wanna get caught talking to you? You consider cornering Tommy to dig up some dirt, but it’s too late. Joel is pulling his shirt over his head. You’re locked on. You fight to keep from reacting. His sun-kissed frame strolls towards the lakeshore. You watch as he gets waist-deep before he pushes off and glides through the water. When his head re-emerges, and he shakes the water from his hair, you feel your mouth drop open. You quickly fill it with the beverage in your hand.
You keep staring. Watching the beads of water roll down his shoulders. You’d like to sink your teeth into the skin on his neck. You’d like to wrap your legs around his hips under the water—“oh, shit!” you yelp.
A kid swimming behind you got a little too excited, kicking water and splashing it all over your face. You grimace. You didn’t mean to swear at the kid. It was just the shock of it. No big deal. Since your hair is wet now anyway, you might as well get all the way in the water.
You drop off your floaty and empty drink on your blanket. Tossing your sunglasses off, too. You walk back into the water and dive under yourself. It’s refreshing. You’re close to Joel when you pop up again. He looks at you this time. Acknowledges you’re a real, live human in front of him.
“All wet now, huh?” he smirks.
“Oh, fuck off, Joel,” you scoff at him. You swim away before he can say anything else.
You lay out, letting the sun dry your wet skin. Until you’re ready to leave. The idea of a shower and aircon sounds pretty good to you. You gather your things, say your goodbyes, and hike up the path to your car.
With your bags in the backseat, you grab your towel. Your bikini and hair are still dripping wet. You squeeze your hair with the towel when you hear someone approaching. You look over your shoulder, and of course, it’s him. You turn away, continuing to towel at your hair. You can feel his body hovering behind yours.
“Hey, baby,” he says, low and syrupy.
“Are you joking?” you spew incredulously, not bothering to look at him. “Where’s your girlfriend?”
“My what?”
“I didn’t catch her name.”
“She’s not my girlfriend, baby. It’s not like that.” His large hands wrap around either side of your hips. “Y’look nice in this,” he coos, ignoring your spite and toying with the strings tied at your hips. You turn and shove at his chest. He leans against the truck behind him.
“Why are you up here, Joel? You want to ignore me around our friends, then follow me to my car like a dog? You’ve got fuckin’ problems, man. Why are you looking at me like that?”
He’s smiling at you like it’s endearing that you’re telling him off.
“Oh my god, let me guess. You think I look sexy when I’m mad?”
“No,” he defends and steps closer. He runs his fingers under the strap on your shoulder. His touch burns white hot against your skin, branding you. You shiver. “You always look sexy,” he rasps. It’s not charming. He’s still an ass. But it feels so good when he says it. He’s so close you can smell the sunscreen and sweat on his skin. Everything about his presence chips away at your defenses.
“Could barely stand watching you in the water,” he adds. When did his mouth get so close to you? His hot breath runs over the shell of your ear. “Want you bad.”
“Liar,” you argue with less venom.
“Am not,” he hums. A hand slides up your neck, thumb under your chin, tilting your face up to look at him. His eyes are heavy with lust. He’s still smiling. You wonder if that’s how he’d look if you woke up next to him. A dreamy smile with his tousled hair and scruffy cheeks.
He takes your hand, so delicate compared to his. Slowly, he brings it towards his body and wraps it around the stiff bulge in his swim trunks. “Feel like I’m lying?” He watches the tiny muscles in your face twitch as you suppress your reaction. Then your brows pull together, and you glare.
“You think you can just follow me up here, get your hands on me, and then what? You’ll have me on my knees in the dirt for you? You think I wanna catch some dirty lake water disease from your cock in my mouth?”
He squeezes your hand harder like his dick will argue for him. Maybe you’d hear it out.
“You gonna tell me you don’t want this?” he asks, narrowing his eyes, “bet you’re wet from more than just the lake, pretty baby.” He’s not wrong, but you’re not going to admit it. Wait, did he say pretty? A laugh, shriek, and loud splash from the lake below breaks you out of his trance. Your tunnel vision expands. You pull your hand from his grip.
“Why are you up here, Joel?”
“Couldn’t just watch you leave.”
You scoff at him and whip back around. You’re quick, but he’s bigger and stronger. His hands pull at your hips, slamming your body back into his. The damp skin of his chest sticks to your back.
“We’re not fucking in the parking lot,” you snap. You can feel how hard he is. Pressed against the curve of your ass. His swim trunks and your wet Lycra bikini are the only barriers between you.
“Maybe s’what you get for being a filthy fuckin’ tease,” his gravelly voice rumbles in your ear.
“How am I a tease?” you squirm against him, but the friction only makes both of you more pathetic as you gasp and he groans.
“Wearing this.” He pulls at the string of your bikini on one shoulder and lets it snap back. “Laying on that towel, ass up, like you were waiting for me to fill it,” he squeezes a cheek for emphasis, “floating in the water with these perfect tits barely hidden.” He pulls at the triangles of fabric covering them, sliding them apart until your breasts pop out. Exposing you under the shade of the trees.
“You’re delusional,” you accuse. But all the venom is gone. The words come out breathy. His body is wrapped around you, constricting. His hand travels down your stomach, slipping under the bikini and between your legs. His fingers find exactly what they were searching for. Your slick folds part easily, welcoming his fingers deeper.
“Doesn’t feel like a delusion to me, baby.” Wretched man. Always has to prove a point. You’re running out of the mental fortitude to argue. You also feel ridiculous, standing between someone’s truck and your car, tits out, his hand between your legs.
“Isn’t someone gonna wonder where you are?” you try to find a reason you should stop.
“No, said I had to make a call.”
“A call? So your phone does work,” you chide, using your last brain cell. He plunges two fingers into your aching pussy, effectively shutting you up. A moan is the only noise you can form.
“Thought I already taught you to quit arguing with me.” His irritation is muffled by his lips pressed into the skin of your neck.
“Fuck you, Joel.”
“You wanna try askin’ nicely?” he goads in your ear. His fingers curl as he drags them in and out of you. You let yourself focus on the sensation. Your head falls, chin to your chest, and you watch the muscles and tendons in his arm flexing and rippling while he works you into a needy mess. It’s hot. His arm is firm and tan from days spent working in the hot sun. Against the soft, cushiony flesh of your curves, it’s almost menacing, but it provides you with support. Like he could balance you forever against his one arm. He might have to if your knees give out.
The noises coming from you both are obscene. You feel his chest rising and falling against your shoulder blades, slowing down time. Joel moves shamelessly, his hips roll and grind into the swell of your ass. He’s curled around you like a wild beast claiming his prize in the forest. It gives you some kind of sick ego trip; he hurt you, but now he’s here attached to you with desperate want. You slide a hand behind your head, feeling for his soft, damp hair on the back of his head, confirming this whole perverse scenario is real. You tug at his hair, eliciting a rough groan from his lips. He seems to have forgotten his own question, entranced by you.
Joel watches the sweat beading on your chest and runs his hot tongue up your neck into the hinge of your jaw. He savors your sweat-salted taste with a deep hum that vibrates from his chest into your spine. It lights sparks along your nerves.
You grind back against him as his palm presses firmly into your clit, and his fingers keep stroking at just the right spot. The pressure building feels overwhelming. He’s all consuming the way he surrounds you. The sound of his breath, his scent, the way your skin sticks against one another, it floods your senses. Your breath quickens, and your muscles coil tight with tension, buzzing with need.
“Give it to me,” his words scrape across gravel. The tension in your core snaps, abdomen spasming, and your pussy clenching at his fingers for more. The hand you have on the back of his neck clings tightly for support. He loosens his grip around you and slows his movements as you start to take deeper and deeper breaths of air. Fresh air. Because you’re in the parking lot at the lake. Your senses sharpen, and your vision clears. You fix your bikini top in a rush, adjusting the fabric and straps fighting through your tangled mess of limbs crossed with Joel’s.
You can hear other footsteps on the path. Turning to face Joel, you flash a smile on your flushed face at him.
“Good timing,” you quip as you look beyond Joel and past the bed of the truck to see who’s coming up the path. You wave at a couple of friends as they carry their bags to their vehicle. Joel doesn’t turn to look. Doesn’t seem to move a muscle. You look back at his face.
One brow raised; he looks like he knows something you don’t. A frown pulls at your face. He executes his maneuver before you can devise a retort for his expression. He yanks hard on the ends of the bows that tie your bikini bottoms together. Your jaw drops as the fabric falls. Your hand flies out to slap his chest at the audacity, but he grips your wrist in his hand.
“Not nice to hit people, baby,” he condescends as if you were the one in the wrong. You’re fuming. Blood boiling.
“What–” you’re cut off by his other hand grabbing your jaw with a vice grip.
“Quiet,” he snaps. You hear the sounds of the car backing out and pulling away. Tires kicking up a cloud of dust. You can’t see past Joel’s wide frame as he holds your head in place. You grab at his forearm, but it’s useless. You’re defenseless in his grip. Vulnerable between the vehicles and the trees. Why does that make your cunt ache and throb? You squirm. “You gonna behave?” he asks, but you know it’s not a question.
“Uhuh,” you respond through your clenched teeth, your lips unnaturally squished and parted between his fingers and thumb. You give up on prying at his arm and run your hand down his bare chest towards his swim trunks instead. Your touch brings a smirk to his face.
“Yeah, you are,” he agrees. Reading your sordid motives like a love letter, he carries on. He drops your jaw and readjusts your positioning. Joel moves you with ease. He lifts you and backs you into the window to the backseat of the truck, his hands under your thighs. If you had any sense left, you might consider it vulgar to be fucked wide open in a parking lot, but the animalistic expression on Joel’s face wipes your mind blank. You lock your legs around his hips and your arms around his neck as if he were the one caught in your trap. He looks at you like he’s trying to etch all the details of you in this position into his mind. It stirs that depraved sense of pride in your chest.
“Take it out,” he orders. You obey. Snaking a hand between your bodies to free his cock from his swim trunks. Both of you watch, chins tucked to your chests as your hand wraps around his stiff shaft. The sight makes your mouth water. He seems similarly affected. You think you’ll have hand-shaped bruises on the back of your legs the way his grip tightens and his fingertips dig into your skin. He leans closer, seeking your slick, wet entrance. You guide his leaking tip with your own pleasure in mind instead. He watches as you use him like a toy. You swirl the head of his cock around your swollen clit. The pressure and heat blur your vision. You slip him through your folds until he’s coated in your glossy arousal. You keep playing, creating lewd noises between your legs. He’s talking to you, you realize, and tune back in.
“Keep teasin’ like that. Gonna fuck you til you can’t walk. Give it to this needy little pussy the way no one else can, right, baby? Stretch you out and fill you up. Send you home dripping.” He rambles on with his threats. They make you dumb.
“Fuck, please, please, please,” you respond with tight exhales.
His head shoots up.
“You hear that?” he asks, and you freeze. Straining to listen. You can hear the birds in the trees. The muffled voices down at the lakeshore. You listen for voices or footsteps getting closer, but they don’t exist.
“Hear what?” you pant.
“The sound of you begging for my cock.”
Your face heats. You feel another surge of arousal flood your already-soaked center.
“Fuck off, Joel.”
“It’s a pretty sound, baby. Want you to be bad.” His words light something fierce inside of you. You need him inside you, now. He doesn’t help as you wiggle in his grip, trying to slip him inside of you. He exhales a puff of air in amusement at your struggle.
“Do it again. Beg.”
“Please, Joel.”
“Please, what?”
“Please, fuck me. Need you to fuck me hard.” A twisted wave of humiliation and need for approval courses through you. Begging for him, trying to tug him closer. You’re a mess for him.
“There she is,” he smiles. It’s devious, but it makes your heart flutter and your pussy throb even harder.
You line him up with your entrance, and he fills you in one motion.
“Fuck,” you mouth as your head slides back against the truck. He fulfills his threats and splits you around his cock over and over. His hips snap into you with a force that sends shockwaves rippling across your body. Joel fucks you like a man possessed. Driving into you brutally, rocking the truck behind you. You try to stifle the cries pouring out of your throat, focusing on breathing, squeezing your eyes shut, and digging your nails into his shoulders. Pinning you with his body frees his hand, and he wastes no time using it to grope at every inch of you he can.
He slows and rocks into you more tenderly, confusing you. He peers around the cab and waves at someone. Oh, shit. They can’t see you through the cab windows, right? Fuck.
“Hey, put me down,” you hiss.
“It’s just Tommy,” he replies. How is that better?
Then you hear him calling to Joel.
“Hey, you see my sunglasses on the dash?”
Joel looks through into the driver’s window as if you didn’t even exist.
“Yeah, you want ‘em?” Joel calls back to Tommy.
“Yeah, you comin' back down?”
“Yep, be there in a minute if you want me to bring them.” He calls back to Tommy. Still rolling against you, just grinding at a mind-numbingly slow speed.
“You’re sick,” you whisper at Joel while you grind back into him, and Tommy shouts a thank you in the distance. Joel thrusts up into you more harshly. Your breath catches as his eyes lock onto yours with his full attention.
“Felt to me like you enjoyed the risk.” His voice sounds like a taunt, but he’s not wrong. Joel talking to Tommy like you weren’t wrapped around his cock sent a rush through your veins. You decide not to admit that out loud.
“This is Tommy’s truck?” you ask between gasps.
“Yep.”
You had some snarky comment to make, but you give up as he resumes his pace, and your thoughts fade away. Joel’s filthy stream of consciousness starts up again between low grunts and groans. His voice and the noises he makes bounce around in your skull. He makes you feel weightless.
Each time his hips meet the cradle of your pelvis, you nearly burst, complimenting his movements with an enthusiastic rhythm. You arch your spine, angling just a little deeper, chanting out breathy prayers of fuck, fuck, fuck, and yes, yes, yes, when he slips a hand down to draw circles around your clit.
“That’s it. Let me feel it,” he demands as you writhe.
You give in, and it drives him crazy. The way your nails dig into his shoulders, your brows pinch, your mouth hangs open, and your body involuntarily shudders against him. He feels the way you start to relax, but your body jerks and clings tighter to him a few more times. He can’t slow down. It fuels his unbridled urge to come inside you as deep as he can.
“That’s my baby,” he husks. My baby? You feel butterflies as you try to catch your breath while he ramps up his force.
“Gonna fill you up. Fuck you full.”
“Yes,” you reply, not sure he’s even listening with the intensity of his look as he barrels towards his release. When he stills, and you feel it, you can’t stifle the sounds in your throat. You feel his cock pulsing inside you, and his hips lurch into you as if he could fuck his come any deeper. He smothers you as he comes down. With his chest crushing you into the truck, you can feel when his breathing starts to slow. You rake your fingers through his hair, scratching his scalp and breathing him in. Your pussy might be sore for a day, but your ego is full, and you feel sated.
Joel pulls out of you with a barely audible pained noise and asks if you can stand before releasing you fully from his grip.
“I still have two legs,” you joke. But you look like you might topple over if he lets go. He hugs you into him for a tender kiss; it’s quick, but you drown in it. He props you up and presses another kiss to your sweaty temple.
Then it’s happening again. He pulls his shorts back up, opens the truck, and grabs Tommy’s sunglasses. You grab your towel to wrap around your naked lower half. The truck door slams, and you turn. He’s already walking away.
“Drive safe,” he calls over his shoulder while you pick up your bikini bottoms from the dirt.
An empty feeling starts to shroud your satisfied glow as the sound of his footsteps fades away. He did call you “my baby,” though. He doesn’t say that to just anyone, right?

update! I’ve found a very small number of people willing to help, which I (unfortunately) don’t think will be enough. We’ll need as much reach and as much help as we can get, so any assistance is welcome! No prior experience is needed to voice act, simply a mediocre mic (recent apple phones work fine, idk about other brands) and no background noise. I appreciate all the help people are offering! I really want this to work out.
For voicing, I could probably do Lance and Shiro if I found a way to lower the pitch a little. I could comfortably do Shay, or Allura if I figure out a British accent. MALE/AMAB VOICE ACTORS NEEDED! (ftm on t works too!!!) A lot of the characters have deep voices, so any masculine voices we can get we’ll take. Of course, we could always do fem!paladins if absolutely necessary but I’d prefer to keep it as close as possible to the original. Thanks!
yall I’ve decided I want to do a redubbing of the ENTIRETY of voltron!!
This would obviously be a big project, so anyone who wants to be involved in script editing, placing audio, voice acting, etc. PLEASE reach out to me! Most importantly, I am LOOKING FOR VOICE ACTORS!! I imagine the male characters will be the hardest to find voices for, so lmk if you have the voice for that! doesn’t have to be exactly the same as the og as long as it fits the character, of course.
we would probably go episode-by-episode, my best way of communicating would be Instagram dms since I don’t have discord but we would also send emails/google drives of the files needed. Please dm me either here or on Instagram (same username) if you want to be involved!! Voice actors, I would appreciate a voice sample as well so I can properly cast you but we can wait until necessary. EVERYONE WILL GET CASTED!! I imagine we won’t get enough actors to fill each tiny role individually, so if you don’t get the role of paladin you’ll certainly be able to voice multiple side characters, so please stay on standby throughout the entire thing in case you get another opportunity to participate.
Thank you! I hope I get to work with a bunch of you :)

A couple days ago, I took a look back at my life online that all led to where I am now.
It was crazy. The very first thing I made for the internet 16 years ago was a video called “Mario Kart Glitches”, a camripped video that featured no actual glitches. I then made Youtube Poops (although less with sentence mixing and more “take a video and replace words with CDI voice clips”)
Then high school came around and I started to fall in love with collaboration. I made an abridged series with my friend, and I started doing voice work, looking around for dubbing projects and making friends that way, usually through Pokemon-related stuff (including one friend who kinda disappeared off the face of the earth one day. I don’t know if you’re still out there, but if you’re reading this: Hey, Kasumi)
Later on in high school I would start collaborating on Newgrounds and would eventually change my name to Chongo, as it is today. I’d made friends with a small circle of animators on there who took part in an annual animation tournament, usually willing to lend voice acting and occasionally music.
When I went into college, I branched out a lot more. I started my Tumblr, which led to a lot of posting and meeting more people. I started a side blog that ended up more popular than my main blog for a while (shoutouts to @dhmis-audio and All The Stuff I Did There)
Then one day I reached out to send in auditions for a Gravity Falls fan project where I’d meet one of the most important people in my life: Penny Parker. After meeting her and having an incredible time during a table read and a voice call afterwards, we started collaborating. And from there the rest is pretty well-known history. Spagoots, leading to Snapcube and Spagoots Realms. Snapcube would lead to the dubs and making a whole host of friends like Red, Scout, Joy, Alfred, Mar, Ellie & Bee, Camilla, Katy (and that’s just naming a few), and Realms would lead to the Red Kraken.
From there, as I went into the working world, my content went more by the way of music and mashups, but I’d still have an urge to tell stories like with CPU Kerfuffle, with my storytelling getting deeper with stuff like NCCT. And the mashups would lead to stuff like Mad Rat Monday.
And now here we are. It’s crazy to think I’ve been a creator online for well over half my life. 16 years. I wouldn’t watch most of the stuff from my past (and I wouldn’t urge you to look into stuff from more than 7 or so years ago for multiple reasons) but I’m glad it all happened. It led to who I am today.

Theo is different. You know it, everyone knows it.
His presence in the room is immediately known, but only when he wants it to be. Theo comes in – all eyes are on him. Or not. It depends. His eyes, however, are on you. Always on you.
The fluorescent light simmers quietly above your head, letting neon purple envelop the space around you. You feel him staring into your back, and you swear you could feel a hole being burned into your flesh. It’s scorching hot yet icy cold at the same time. You’re afraid to turn around; everyone knows how charming Theodore Nott is, how he always seems to get what he wants from anyone, and no one minds. You made a vow to yourself to never fall for his charms, to be different, to prove something to yourself, to others and possibly to Theo himself.
You never look into his eyes.
You can’t hear him approach. He’s quiet when he wants to be, which is pretty much all the time. It’s always the same thing: you flinch, suddenly feeling his breath on your neck – his chilly breath that sends shivers all over your body, his presence heightening your senses to an unspeakable degree. You hopelessly look around, but there isn’t a lot of people in the bathroom, and those who are are busy with their own thing – it’s one of those times Theo wants to be discreet, and of course, he gets exactly what he wants.
"Dolcezza."
His voice is a deep murmur, and you never know what he’s saying, but your mind almost shuts off nonetheless. But only almost. You stubbornly stare into the window, trying to burn your own hole into the dark starry sky outside.
Theo stays silent for several excruciating seconds. His hand hovers next to your shoulder, but he doesn’t touch you – he never does. You try your absolute hardest not to lean into the touch and embarrass yourself. His hand being just a couple of centimeters away from your skin makes you fell tingles everywhere, even in a place that isn’t supposed to have this kind of reaction to a simple hand – and still, no touching.
"Look at me, pretty one," Theo murmurs into your ear, and it takes every single bit of your resolve not to do exactly that. You don’t know how you’re still holding up, to be honest – you’re sure you’ve never wanted anything more in your life than to look at him right this second.
Theo sighs, becoming a witness of your resistance once again. His hands moves down, along the outline of your arm, still without any physical contact, and you feel the tingle intensifying. You have to clench your muscles to stop your body from twitching, and your jaw, for some reason – your whole body protests and craves for his touch at the same time. It’s torture.
Theo notices the way your jaw tenses up and quietly chuckles. He leans in, and his breath is now on your face, that same chilly breeze with a hint of mint and citrus in there – is it gum? Stupid question, you think, even though you don’t say it out loud.
"You’re so stubborn," he purrs again, his lips almost, almost brushing against your cheek. You wince, because it’s really not helping the situation – but it’s probably his goal. Your determination to win gets stronger, as strong as your desire to finally lose.
You let out an audible sigh of relief when you hear footsteps of a person moving further and further away, until the door to the bathroom creaks open and, a second later, claps shut. You did it once again. You’re good.
The last couple of people left the bathroom, but you’re still there, half an hour later. You have a suspicion that Theo is still there, at the party and probably planning to ambush you. Maybe it’s just your sudden paranoia talking, but you decide to wait him out anyway. When you glance at the screen of your phone, you notice it’s two minutes to midnight. Time to move – you’re getting tired anyway.
Before leaving, you decide to splash your face with cold water – Theo is still lingering on your cheek, as much as you hate to admit that. You turn the tap handle all the way to the right, letting the water hit the porcelain surface of the sink and feeling water drops land on the back your hands. A moment later your face feels less flushed as you bend over and press your dripping palms against your cheeks and eyes.
A squeal echoes through the empty bathroom when you straighten up and see an unexpected figure behind you in the mirror. You should’ve expected it, though. His eyes. You should’ve expected… His eyes. His eyes. You should’ve…
"Shh, dolcezza, it’s fine. I’m here. You’re safe."
Theo’s voice brings you out of the darkness that has been surrounding your mind for the last… minute? Hour? You don’t know. You blink and look up at him.
His eyes. His beautiful, striking blue eyes that are studying your face with such intensity and tenderness at the same time. You lips curl into a silly, lovesick smile. His fascinating eyes…
"You’re safe," he repeats, bringing his face closer to yours. The scent of mint and citrus hits your nostrils, and you can’t help taking a deep breath in, savoring each molecule of his air that comes through your airways. You lift yourself up on your tiptoes, softly connecting your lips together. You’ve done it before. It feels familiar. It feel like home.
Theo smiles against your lips, and you feel his hand cupping your jaw, pressing his fingers into your skin and bones. He’s strong. The thought makes you moan into his mouth, and he eagerly swallows the prettiest sound he’s ever heard in his life. His other hand finds your waist, pulling your body flush against his. You’re his missing puzzle piece. He finally has the full picture.
The fluorescent light simmers quietly above your head, the faint noise mixing with the sounds of your sloppy kisses and your needy moans. Theo’s eyes light up ever so slightly when he pulls away and looks into your hazy, glassy ones. You stare back, the same lovesick smile making its way back onto your face. He looks otherworldly.

Alessia Russo x Aussie! Arsenal! Reader
Warnings: Little bit of angst, fluff, coarse language, suggestive if you squint.
Masterlist
________________________
Alessia were a bit like Katie in the sense of your aggression — or, rather 'passion' as you put it gently — on the field.
Arsenal had a rocky start to the season, with a loss against Liverpool to being dubbed as 'second-halfsenal', as your fans and rivals alike found the comedy in your troubles. There was no technical malice behind the name, the girls would joke about it ever so often during training, but that didn't stop the hidden linger of doubt among the team. As the season proceeded, with the crucial derbies of both Chelsea and Tottenham, you started to notice how it was having a negative effect on your girlfriend.
You grew up in Melbourne, Australia, playing for your local club before being scouted by recruits when you were in High School. You joined Melbourne Victory at Seventeen, playing alongside your future Matildas teammates, Kyra and Courtney. The three of you went to school together, before graduating and parting ways. While they moved to the Sweden league, you chose to head to Bayern Munich, where you spent four years strengthening your skills and gaining wider international attention.
The move was incredibly difficult. You did not understand a word of German walking into your first day, and still struggle to communicate in the foreign language. It definitely helped when Lioness player, Georgia Stanway transferred from Manchester City, and you ended up spending a lot of time with the English girl.
Due to this connection, you had met the other Lionesses by association, one girl sticking out to you specifically.
You had properly met Alessia in a friendly match against your two National teams. It hadn't taken long for you to realise your feelings for each other, but the timing never seemed right. She was in Manchester, playing for United, and you were in Germany, both consistent in your hard work for your respective teams.
You both were called up for the World Cup squad, you playing as a regular starter in the Midfield. From your early career, you always had a deep-rooted chemistry with Kyra and Courtney, so the opportunities the three of you created set the scene for your forwards up front. It was heartbreaking losing to England in the Semi-finals, especially in a home World Cup. You remember how Georgia sat with you after the game, waiting until she knew you were okay before she went off to celebrate.
You reciprocated the kindness by watching the final, feeling upset for the Lionesses when the score did not turn out their way. The two of you wondered what the next step was for you.
You had trouble mulling over the end of your contract, knowing Georgia had just renewed hers. After the World Cup, the recognition of the public had a great turnout, and your agent was met with many expressions of interest.
When Arsenal's name popped up on that list, you knew it was a no-brainer.
You and Alessia had both transferred in the same week, Kyra a few weeks later. The blonde and you moved in together, having both no place to live and hit it off from there. Now, a few months in, you've never been happier.
"Alright girls, we can do this." You heard Kim shout from beside you. Alessia was holding your waist, fiddling with the hem of your shorts as the team huddled around each other.
"Go out and set the scene. First tackles, first corners, everything, alright?"
You were versing Chelsea, the London Derby, in a sold-out Emirates, and you could feel the nerves radiating off Kyra from in front of you. Kim was the Captain today, her Scottish accent shouting as both the starting eleven and subs hugged one another. The lead-up to this game was beyond stressful, the pressure of starting in such a critical game building on Alessia and you over the past few days. The whole ordeal was daunting, having not ever played in a derby of this significance before.
"London is Red, girls, let's go!" Katie shouted, earning the huddle to disperse as everyone took their starting positions.
You could feel the sweat compile over the creases in your hands, wiping them twice over before jogging to your place on the wing. You found yourself looking out to the crowd, waving at the group of fans chanting your name. Erin Cuthbert was quick to join your side, standing close by as the cheers grew louder in anticipation.
Alessia was upfront, watching you with adoring eyes. You offered her a tight-lipped smile, pursing your lips and blushing when she sent a toothy grin and thumbs up your way. However; the moment was short-lived as the referee was quick to blow her whistle, commencing the game.
It was apparent that Chelsea was not expecting the energy Arsenal brought to the game. Errors and miscalculated passes were being carried out left and right, the chemistry between both sides slipping beneath the heightening apprehension.
“I'm here!” You called, speeding along the wing as Katie hesitated on the other side of the pitch. The Chelsea girls had left your front wing open, crowding in the midfield, evidently oblivious to the mistake they’d produced. You heard Emma Hayes yelling to cover your end, but Katie had already seen you, crossing the ball to your end. Cuthbert was on your tail, trying hard to stub your sprint in an attempt to stuff you up.
Victoria was to your right, onside yet swarmed with about three defenders. Beth was not far behind; Chelsea defenders were swarming the box in a desperate endeavour to clear Arsenal’s attempt.
You had no other choice but to nimble the ball through Fleming’s legs and towards Vic, who helplessly maneuvered the ball through the maze of defenders before passing to Mead. Cuthbert had put her hands behind her back, using her body to shield Beth’s fake attempt at the goal. You watched with your breath hitched as Beth powered the ball to the goal, observing the swift motion of the back of the neck.
Alessia was the first to wrap your arms around you, holding you up, carrying you over to where Katie was gripping Beth for dear life.
The rest of your team celebrated around you, screaming among the thousands of people in the crowds, smiles etched on all your faces.
“You’re doing so well.” Less yelled, hoping you’d hear her praise over the booming echo of cheers circling the Emirates. She knew you heard her from the blush that spread your cheeks, making your already flushed face all the more flustered. Your girlfriend wrapped her hands around you, swaying you from side to side one more time before you patted her back and let go.
Her eyes watched your figure jog back to your spot near Cuthbert, who pushed her way into your shoulder before the whistle for the restart blew. You tried your best to ignore her antics, using your legs to propel you towards the ball.
Turns out, Chelsea didn't like what you just did.
Erin followed you up and down the pitch, tugging your shirt everywhere she went. Whenever you tried to run forward and make a chance for your team, the Scottish woman would yank you back, locking her arm around your body, keeping you glued to the sideline.
Chelsea evened the score only a couple of minutes later. The sweat dripping down your forehead was enough to tell anyone how hard you were trying. Erin wasn't the only one giving you grief; Fleming was always a few metres away, darting through the midfield easily without you to worry about.
You were finally given the ball from a cross from Victoria, who mustn't have realised how cornered you were. You hadn't left the sideline in twenty minutes now. Fleming was now to your left, running up against you with Erin’s arm holding your waist. You struggled to keep the ball at your feet, the crowd watching in delight as the three of you battled it out alone.
You had managed to dart the ball between Jessie’s legs, causing an audible reaction from the fans, but it seemed that your face was too preoccupied with meeting the grass to soak up any type of honour you were receiving.
You felt the ground against your cheek, your body falling from stubs to the foot. You groaned at the instant pain up your leg, causing you to hold your shoe and roll onto your back. The adrenaline from the game made the pang bearable, but you knew the tackle was far from clean way before the whistle had blown.
“Oh, get up. What a fucking baby.” You heard Erin say, her Scottish accent full of malice.
“I didn't know Chelsea hired my Nephew.” An Irish accent quipped nearby. “Cause all he does is throw a tantrum when he doesn't get what he wants.”
“It was clean.”
“Oh, fuck off, you slimy t—”
You didn't get to hear the rest of their dispute, too busy nursing your foot with your hands. Steph had broken the two up, ordering Katie to run back to the other side. Sam Kerr was also around, kneeling beside you amidst the strain.
“You ‘right, mate?” Your Aussie Teammate helped you up, holding out her hands and rubbing your back as you regained balance. The Skipper had been your mentor since you joined the Tillies. The older woman was an idol of yours, and you looked up to her despite the few years between you.
However, you couldn't respond to Sam in time, for she was pushed away harshly by a certain blonde, her blue eyes reeling with anger at the sight of the tackle you endured.
“Stay away from her, Kerr.” She snarled, using her arm to support your weight onto one foot. You put your hand on her chest, shooting a silent apology to Sam, who shrugged nonchalantly before sauntering off.
“Y/N, are you alright?” The referee asked the yellow card still in her hand. You knew you had the power to play it over the top, but this game was everything to you. You didn't want to be subbed off any time soon.
But your girlfriend wasn't having any of it.
“She,” Less pointed to Erin, who was standing by a regretful Fleming. “Needs to be sent off for that. She's been harassing Y/N all game. It was obviously on purpose. Did you see it? It was stubs to the—”
“Lessi, stop, it's alright. I'm fine.” You swapped glances from your girlfriend to the Ref, who was still looking at you for reassurance in regard to your physical wellness. “I’m fine.” You repeated, and the whistle was quickly blown for a free kick, and a yellow toward Cuthbert.
Alessia looked down at you cautiously, eyeing your leg and the slight weariness in your step. “Are you sure?” She asked.
When you nodded, she jogged over to her position once more, sighing at your stubbornness as you prepared for your kick.
Ilestedt’s goal only a few minutes later sent all of the girls into a frenzy. You sprinted over to the Swedish player, jumping onto her back and kissing her head, laughing as you felt the rest of your team surround you in hugs and celebrations. The screams and cheers in the stands were phenomenal. No one expected the Reds to be beating the Blues so early into the game.
Erin was hot on your tail when Caitlin punted the ball towards you. You made the sprint down the line, your Aussie teammates Steph and Caitlin both yelling out for a pass. You were about to boot it behind you, where Steph was waiting for the assist when you felt your legs give out for the second time that game. The grass met your face, the power of the fall leaving you in shambles, the ball long forgotten by the time your hand shot up to the blood running down your nose.
Steph was by your side, forgetting all about the game still in play. Alessia had gained possession of the ball, holding it in her hands by the time you had sat up, the whistling blowing when the Ref noticed the amount of red spilling down your shirt.
“Move your hand.” Steph uttered, holding your face and using her own shirt to hold your nose. “It’s not broken.” You did as you were told, your nose warm at the contact of the ground, only slightly sore. She looked up to Kim, who you knew was fuming underneath her worried gaze.
“I don't want to be subbed off.” You said, and you saw Kim nod, agreeing before storming up to the Referee, who was talking sternly to Erin.
Beside her was Alessia, with her arms crossed and eyebrows furrowed into a furious knot, you watching in horror as a yellow card was shown her way. Katie had made it just in time to take her away, gripping the girl’s shoulders and guiding her towards you.
The medics had come on to see to your nose whilst handing you another shirt to change into. They assessed the blood, which was slowly halting, and declared that you had just knocked it. You told them you didn't want to go off, and with a nod from Katie and approval from the Referee, you stood off the field patiently before you were allowed back on.
During those painstaking moments, you pondered on what Alessia had said that made her get the yellow. You knew Erin was already on thin ice, and in yesterday’s training, Jonas had said that if given the chance, Alessia was to take the penalties. You knew the English girl. She was never much of a violent person on the field, choosing to stay calm and collected rather than angsty and irate when something didn't go her way.
But in games like this, where everything was on the line, it was hard to deny the apparent tension behind her actions. When it came to you, she’d sacrifice everything. For you, she’d take a million yellows if it meant sticking up for you.
You had sprinted up near Fleming when the girls ran towards your goal. The stadium stood in anticipation, the adrenaline of Arsenal’s streak pumping through their cheers. Alessia found the ball under her feet, her shot hitting the back of the net with a swish. You couldn't hear anyone but yourself, the pain and exhaustion from the half leaving your body the very moment you wrapped your legs around Less’s waist.
The girl held you up with her hands, holding under your thighs, squishing the skin just under your arse before putting you down. You laughed at her cheeky grin, relishing the private moment between the two of you before the rest of the girls stampede their way around you.
“LESSI RUSSO!” Beth screamed, hugging the two of you as she jumped in excitement. Arsenal were beating Chelsea — the top of the ladder — three-one going into the second half. If they scored once more, it’d be the Blue’s worst defeat in five years.
The thought was the utmost motivation.
You would be lying if you said you weren't surprised to find yourself walking back on in the second half. Your nose had stopped bleeding during half-time, but the ache was still attending when you made your way to the wing.
Just before you went out, you felt familiar hands grip your waist, pushing you against the wall of your cubby. You saw Alessia’s glare eye your kit and the way she licked her lips at the sight of your flushed countenance. Her starved eyes roamed your face. Your lips met hers in a hungry kiss, knowing the rest of the girls were in their own world as they prepared for what was to come.
“You’re playing really good.” You said, holding her biceps, your finger drawing circles against her skin.
Alessia hummed, meeting your lips again, nipping your bottom lip before pulling away. “So are you, baby. ‘Making me so proud, you are.”
The compliment went straight through you. Her eyes continued to linger on you as you walked back out onto the pitch. You swallowed any pre-existing desire you had for the girl as Jessie Fleming walked by your side, offering you a curt, determined smile, then going stone-faced.
The rivalry in the second half displayed by both sides was nothing in comparison to the anger radiating in the last forty-five minutes of the London Derby.
Katie and Caitlin both got cards in two minutes of each other. Lauren James, Chelsea forward, fifteen minutes later. Illegal tackles were thrown left and right, pushing, shoving, ploughing everywhere you looked.
Emma Hayes must've thought Erin would've been sent off if been marking you for another second. Jessie was a much cleaner opponent, but as the time ticked over, the end of the match and the taste of victory near, the Canadian found haste in her decisions, making a rather late decision in tackling you near the sideline.
“Fuck, sorry.” She spoke, and while remorseful, she seemed too engulfed in the loss to speak much truth. She took her yellow graciously but made no attempt to reconcile with you. She walked over to Sam, who gave her a scornful glare, making the younger girl cower. You took your time getting up off the grass, stretching out the tension in your hamstrings before straightening back onto your feet.
On her way over to you, Alessia shot the dirtiest glare she could muster towards Fleming, not realising that many fans would catch the interaction on their phones. She made her way over to you, kissing the top of your forehead, making no endeavour to hide her public affection towards you.
Your relationship with Alessia was extremely private. You didn't want the public to know every detail of each other, and how you lived day to day in each other’s company, but that didn't mean you didn't like to tease your relationship over social media every once and a while. The Arsenal girls were all for a photo dump on Instagram, and many of the fans had caught onto your close proximity in some of the photos.
One of them in particular caused the rumours of your relationship to form. It was in Katie’s dump, a couple of weeks after your move to Arsenal. A group of girls were all sitting together in a booth, somewhere in a random London pub, but there wasn't enough room, leaving you to sit on Alessia’s lap when the photo was taken. From there, everyone assumed the two of you were dating, and while neither of you confirmed anything, it wasn't a secret you were trying hard to keep.
The game proceeded and not long after, an easy penalty was given to your side after a Chelsea defensive miscommunication. It was Alessia who took it, and the crowd made deafening sounds of joy as the Reds crowded around each other in celebration.
You were beating Chelsea 4-1.
The feeling was euphoric. Nothing could beat the sour, everlasting annoyance planted on Cuthbert’s face. Nothing could take you away from the overwhelming happiness that overtook your body when the full-time whistle blew, leaving Arsenal in glee at the massive takedown on the reigning top-of-the-ladder.
Alessia was up against you the moment you met each other’s glance. She pulled you off the ground, spinning you around in circles, making you squirm and squeal as she tickled your sides.
“You did so well, baby.” She sounded, her breath tickling your ear. You shivered, trying hard to hold in your yearning. Alessia knew how to rile you up, hands coming up to glue to your shoulders, massaging the knots that had formed from the tiresome run you just had. You groaned at the relief. Alessia smirked at the whines coming from your mouth.
“All for me, baby?”
You hid your face in her chest at that, face red at her undistinguished connotations. She laughed, holding your chin, placing a quick peck on the side of your lips, pulling you back into her afterwards.
You waited until she was soaking up the silence, a small smile decorating your sweaty face.
“Did it all for you, Lessi.”

Okay, nice! My prompt was the lia wälti one: "I could kiss you right now" + first kiss
Something along the lines of a team game night and r and lia being paired up. It gets competitive and r wins the final game for them, lia saying that in the spur of the moment (they are not together yet) and then later some fluff and the kiss between them
Take your time, whenever you feel like it, i'll be patiently waiting to see what you do with my muddled thoughts <3
L. Wälti - I could kiss you right now | WC: 1.1K
AN: the game I’m referencing is called “Incoherent,” where you have phrases spelled weirdly, and you have to try and figure out what the actual phrase is! (shoutout to Smosh for telling me about this game lmao) || hope you enjoy bff <3
Kim’s living room was loud as you and a few of your teammates yelled (playfully) at each other, everyone’s competitiveness getting the best of them during team game night. You and Lia were paired together, having been the last two to arrive, and were currently in the lead.
The two of you worked well together, having spent the last few years getting closer and having feelings develop. Feelings that you’ve yet to tell her about out of fear that she doesn’t feel the same and fear of losing the closeness you had with her. Instead, you opted not to tell her and keep the feelings to yourself (and Steph, who had to listen to you ramble about Lia on multiple occasions).
You had all been playing the game Leah picked out for a few hours at this point, and time was drawing close for everyone to start heading home. “Okay, Lia, Y/n! You two are up, and then we can count our cards and see who got the most,” Leah nodded as she scooted the deck of cards closer to Lia.
The midfielder nodded at you and then at Leah, signaling the blonde to flip over the mini hourglass. Lia quickly held up a card with nonsense written on it for you to sound out, which earned some laughter from your teammates at how ridiculous you sounded.
“Just think about it, Y/n/n,” Lia encouraged, and you took a moment before saying the correct phrase. Lia mumbled a quiet ‘Yes!’ before picking a new card to repeat the process.
You quickly flew through as many as you could before Kim yelled, ‘Time!’ and you held up your hand to highfive Lia. “How did you get literally any of those,” Steph laughed as you gathered all the cards you had guessed correctly.
“Dunno, guess I’m just that good at this,” you shrugged at your fellow defender with a small laugh. Steph rolled her eyes at your comment before Leah interrupted whatever retort she had ready.
“Seeing as though Lia and Y/n got almost every one right, I don’t think we really need to count, but Kim and I got nine total,” the blonde huffed as she sat the nine cards back on the table.
You took a few minutes to count your cards as your other teammates called out their totals before you finished by saying, “Nineteen.” Your teammates around you grumbled and spoke over each other, jokingly accusing you and Lia of cheating.
“I could kiss you right now,” Lia said quietly with a small laugh when you called out your total, having beat everyone else by a significant margin.
Your eyes widened slightly as you processed her words, and Lia’s expression matched yours once she realized what she had said. Neither of you made an effort to speak, your teammates’ jokes still going.
“Okay! It’s getting late, and we have an early training tomorrow,” Kim finally broke everyone’s jokes off, using her “captain’s voice,” as Kyra had dubbed it. Her words earned a chorus of groans from everyone else except for you and Lia, who had yet to look away from each other.
“Y/n, Lia, good game! Can’t wait to beat you next time!” Katie laughed, pulling you both from your thoughts.
“You wish, McCabe,” you joked as you stood up from your place on the floor, reaching a hand out for Lia to take so you could help her up.
The midfielder took your hand, letting you pull her to her feet, and reluctantly dropped your hand once she was up. You didn’t try to say anything else before you and your teammates made your way out the door, yelling goodnight to Kim and saying goodbye to each other.
You hugged Steph quickly before the Aussie got in her car and took off. You slowed your walk to your car across the street, watching Lia hug Leah before the blonde headed to her car. You and Lia were the last two left outside, yet neither of you made any effort to get into your cars.
Lia hesitantly made her way to where you stood by your car, her eyes never meeting yours. When she was finally in front of you, both of you stood silently, waiting for the other to speak first.
“What I said earlier-” Lia started at the same you start with, “Did you mean it-.” Both of you stopped, processing what the other had started to say.
“Yes,” Lia muttered, her eyes meeting yours. You swallowed lightly as you took a step closer to her, giving her enough time and space to back away, which she didn’t. You closed the gap between you even more until you were as close as you could be to her.
You hesitantly brought a hand up to her jaw, rubbing your thumb along her cheek softly before mumbling, “Can I kiss you.” Lia nodded quickly, tilting her head slightly. You bit back a smile as you leaned down, your lips meeting hers in a soft yet passionate kiss.
You moved your other to cup the other side of her jaw, holding her close as your lips moved against one another. Lia moved her hands to grip the hoodie you were wearing, holding you just as close. You both pulled away after a few moments, panting as air filled your lungs. You rested your forehead against hers, a small smile gracing both of your faces.
“I’ve been thinking about that for a while,” You confessed, pulling back so you could see her face fully.
Lia smiled at your words before leaning up to give you a quick peck, “So have I,” she mumbled against your lips, a light blush coating her cheeks. Your smile grew hearing her words, and you let a deep breath you hadn’t realized you were holding.
You sighed before taking a step back, letting your hands fall back to your sides, “We can talk about this tomorrow, after training or something, maybe,” you shrugged softly, hopefulness lacing your words.
“Are you asking me out on a date, Y/n/n,” Lia smiled, tilting her head slightly. Your eyes widened slightly, and you opened your mouth to respond, but nothing came out. “I would love that,” Lia continued, finding your reaction cute.
You chuckled softly at how nervous you feeling now that you knew Lia felt the same way. “I’ll see you tomorrow,” you mumbled, giving her a quick kiss before she made her way back to her car. You waved as she drove off, and you took a deep breath, smiling as you got into your car.
You normally hated having early training, but now you were hoping it came quickly. The entire drive home was spent replaying the kiss over and over in your head, and you couldn't be happier to know Lia felt the same way you did and the fact that you two had a date after training.

Pairing: Caitlin Clark x Reader
Summary: Caitlin finds you courtside and can't help but get to know you (based on THIS request)
Warnings: fluff
Word Count: 3.6k
Sweetbans Masterlist
AN: A little different than the initial request but I feel like we got to the same finish.
Caitlin doesn't get nervous. Never has, at least when it comes to being on the court. When she is locked in - nothing phases her and this holds true during games. Why couldn't it be like that all the time for the 22-year-old girl?
Caitlin finishes with a courtside interview when she sees a handful of her teammates head to a girl sitting courtside. Before Cait can fully see who is sitting down, her teammates block you as they begin sparking up a conversation. She notices you are standing now and is giving hugs as more of the team goes running over.
You greet the team as they make their way to you. Hugging them one by one.
"Way to come out with the dub," you say as you give the last hug to Lexi.
"We had to show up and show out, you know that," AB says as she playfully elbows your arm.
"Girl I am here every game, I am not the reason. But thank you for saying I am," you say smiling back.
Caitlin is walking up to the group at this point when she finally sees you. The calm, cool, and collected girl she was is now replaced with a fidgeting, trying to keep her breath controlled girl. She stands towards the back and just watched the interaction.
"Who are you wearing today?" Erica asks as she pulls at the jersey you are wearing.
"Well wouldn't you like to know," you tease her and swat her hand away. "Guess."
"Well you wore mine last home game," Katie says proudly. "One of my best games of the season."
"And that was before you knew I was sporting you," you say.
"I bet it's mine," Nalyssa says. "Haven't seen you in mine since last season."
"Ding! Ding! Ding!" You say and point at Smith, revealing her number on the jersey. "Got my girl Smith on."
The group cheers as Smith gives you a high-five and a side hug.
"'Bout time," Nalyssa says.
"Smith was on one today," Erica says. "Another double-double with 23 points, it only makes sense."
"You guys make it sound like my jersey choice directly correlates to who does well and we all know that is crazy," you say with a laugh.
"Maybe you are just a team motivator," Boston says.
"Sureee, it has nothing to do with the thousands of fans that show up to cheer you on every time you play," you say sarcastically.
"They are here to see her," Lexie says smiling. Caitlin freezes as all eyes turn to her now. You smile sweetly at her and wave. There is something in Cait that is new and unfamiliar with seeing your smile. Something that has her questioning everything she once knew. She is mesmerized by you and she has no idea why.
The team says their goodbyes as Cait realizes she never smiled or waved back to you. She feels like an idiot. She follows the rest of the team back to the locker rooms and sits down, still deep in thought.
The second Cait saw you, she thought you were stunning. Has she ever thought a woman has been stunning before? It is something she thought she would remember but doesn't. She was unfamiliar with her breath getting taken away by someone, not even her boyfriend had that effect on her.
Caitlin feels like she is going through a quarter-life crisis. Ya, she has felt closer to girls her whole life but that was because she was a girl right? Forget the girl she had met in college whom she hit it off really well but decided to swallow her feelings because that just wasn't her. She has always had teammates who had liked girls but the thought of it for her was never one she grew up able to believe. So why now? Why now, after years of swallowing down the thoughts and feelings that threatened to creep through and destroy everything she knew? Would it destroy everything she knew? She was so confused.
"Caitlin, earth to Cait," Aliyah says, shaking the girl out of her thoughts.
"What?" Caitlin asks. She was in trouble.
"You have been sitting there for the past 20 minutes, everyone is heading out - are you good?" Aliyah asks. She notices Caitlin's thinking eyes.
"Who were you all talking to after the game?" Caitlin asks. Aliyah smiles. She says your name.
"She has been coming to Fever games since last year. She is a friend of one of the coaches, always sits courtside, and wears a different tea jersey every game," Aliyah says. "We all have this theory that whoever's jersey she is wearing is who plays best that game. It is kind of dumb but it's fun."
Caitlin takes in all Aliyah says and nods.
"You know, you kind of acted a little weird when she waved at you," Aliyah says and observes Caitlin's internal battle. She sits across from Caitlin.
"She is at every game?" Caitlin asks, still in thought.
"Ya, maybe she will wear your jersey next," Aliyah says, watching Caitlin's reaction to see if she can get a better understanding of what the girl in front of her is thinking.
Caitlin's head whips to look at Aliyah. She opens her mouth to say something but nothing comes out. Her lips close.
Aliyah begins to understand. Before she can speak someone is coming into the locker.
"Hey, Caitlin? Your boyfriend is waiting outside for you," they say.
Aliyah stands and looks over at the girl sitting. Caitlin nods but doesn't feel herself doing it.
"She'll be right out," Aliyah says and Caitlin is thankful.
"Cait, I'm here if you ever need to talk," Aliyah says and keeps it vague.
"Thanks, AB," Caitlin says as she is pulled from all of her thoughts. Now is not the time to be questioning everything she knew. There's no need to question everything right?
Caitlin had been counting down the hours. They had two gameless days but are back at it. The last two days she had tried to keep her head down and work but every time they were on the court, she couldn't help herself glancing over at the seat you had been in just a few nights ago.
During one of the days off, her boyfriend came over and they hung out. There wasn't anything exciting about it. Cait thought spending time with him would remove you from her brain, the two seconds she actually saw you, but it didn't.
Maybe Caitlin just wanted to be friends with you. She had been pretty lonely with the move and a new team, which she had been quickly getting to know thankfully. But that's what it was, at least that's what she was trying to convince herself of. She just wanted you as a friend because you looked like someone who would be a lot of fun to be around.
The Fever Thursday night rolled around and Caitlin found herself looking at the courtside seats during shootaround. You are nowhere to be seen yet but if there is anything she had learned from the team, it is that you would be there. Hopefully in her jersey...
Aliyah sees Caitlin checking your seat every five minutes and feels bad for the girl.
"She'll be here," Aliyah whispers to Caitlin.
"Huh, oh. I wasn't thinking about that," Caitlin tries to be convincing but is far from it.
"She's always here," Aliyah says, knowing very well Caitlin's boyfriend has only been to two or three of their games.
Caitlin nods.
They all finish warming up and get ready. They run out of the tunnel and go through their last-minute warm-ups. Caitlin fights every ounce of herself to keep from turning to that one courtside seat.
After what feels like forever, she finally turns and sees you sitting there. You are watching them warm up with a smile. Caitlin immediately perks up and tries harder in her warm-ups.
'What the hell', Caitlin thinks to herself. This isn't her, she isn't the show-off type. Maybe you are affecting her more than she realizes.
"It's my lucky night," Lexi says as she comes over and 'brags' pointing over to you in her jersey. The team playfully pushes Lexi.
Caitlin can't help but feel the overwhelming sense of disappointment that has pooled in her stomach and chest when she looks over at you to see exactly what her teammate has just stated. I mean why would you wear her jersey? She is not doing what everyone expected her to do.
Lexi runs over to you and you pat her hip, showing her the jersey you were wearing. Lexi says something to make you laugh and Caitlin has two thoughts.
One - Caitlin wants to be the cause of your smile and laugh. So much so that she is throwing out all the thoughts she suppressed about you.
Two - Oh what Caitlin would do to feel your hands on her hips. A tap. A pinch. Skin to skin. Caitlin swallowed.
You push Lexi back towards the team and she jogs back. Caitlin needs to figure out how she can get to that point with you.
The game begins and you lock in on watching your team. You watch them start off fast - they set the pace really well and are pushing a lot in transition in the first quarter. You observe as Caitlin is reading and running the floor like a true pro.
When she is working off the ball you see her occasionally glance over in your direction. At first, you didn't notice it, but then she started doing it with the ball in her hand and you couldn't help but smile every time she did. As the glances became more frequent, the butterflies in your stomach managed to grow.
You try to get the school-girl feeling to pass as you watch the rookie control the floor. She's in a relationship you tell yourself. She is in a relationship with a man. So why is she looking over your way so frequently?
Halftime comes and you feel like you can breathe. The Fever is down by 4 going into the half which is better than they were the last time they matched up against this team. You hope their halftime talk is enough to push them ahead going into the third.
The team runs back out and you watch the team put a few shots. Your eyes immediately find the rookie as you watch her get loose both with the ball and with her team. As you watched the young Fever team this season, one thing that you have seen is how it has taken some time for the new team to build some chemistry. You have heard your friend talk about it but it could visibly be seen. So seeing Caitlin smiling and messing around with Lexi and Lyss has you hopeful that the chemistry is brewing faster rather than slower.
Caitlin is laughing at something Lexi says when she leans her head back, hand on her stomach, all with eyes closed. When her eyes open they meet yours. Cait holds your gaze, a smile still on her face. You grow a smile looking at the girl and give her a little nod. Her smile never fades as she finally looks away from you.
Well, if you were questioning the girl before, you are for sure questioning the rookie's thoughts now.
You watch the rest of the game and the Fever takes the win. A fun one at that.
You walk over to your friend who has been stressed the whole game and give them a hug.
"Good job, coach," you say and pat him on the back. he just shakes his head.
"They are going to be the death of me," he says jokingly but with a hint of seriousness in his tone.
Erica runs over and jumps on his back, only proving his previous statement.
You see Lexi and Caitlin make their way over as well.
You give Lex a hug and congratulate her on a stellar game. You then step over and introduce yourself.
"I'm Caitlin," the girl says.
"I know," you say with a soft smile. "Everyone knows who you are."
She blushes but tries not to break eye contact. It is as clear as day to her team that Cait is acting differently towards you, they all take a mental note.
"Way to come out with another win for the season. The turnaround in the fourth made for an exciting game," you say to the group.
"Would be better if they could do it a little faster than in the fourth," your friend says.
"Hey, we got there, didn't we?" Erica says.
"You did, and that is all that matters," you nudge your friend who just shakes his head.
"Hey, we are having a game night tomorrow and would be fun if you joined," Lexi says with a smile looking at you. Caitlin's eyes are wide as she wants to yell at Lexi to take it back. A light panic begins to grow in the younger girl's chest but she chooses to keep her mouth shut.
"That sounds like fun, can I let you know in the morning?" You ask.
"Of course," Lex responds.
Great, now Catilin has to worry for the next 20 hours to see if you will be at their team hangout. Not only that, but a team hang out where significant others will be, her boyfriend included. There is no need for Cait to panic just yet but she can't help it.
The next morning rolls around and Caitlin toys with the idea of calling Lexi to see if you will be at the game night. She decides against it remembering she will see Lex in the weight room. She gets ready for the day and makes her way to the gym.
"Hey girlie," Lexi says walking up with Katie Lou and pulling Caitlin out of her thoughts.
Caitlin smiles but doesn't say anything. Katie bumps the younger girl's arm and Caitlin looks up debating if it will be too much to ask the one question that has plagued her brain since last night.
"Ready for our game night?" Katie asks.
"Who all is going to be there?" Caitlin asks, trying to get the information out without directly asking if you would be there.
"Wouldn't you like to know," Lexi teases.
"Yes, I would," Caitlin says in all seriousness.
"Could it have anything to do with me asking a certain courtside girl to join?" Lexi asks.
Caitlin stutters and doesn't know what to say. Lexi's hand comes to her shoulder.
"She will be there," Lexi says sweetly.
The three girls go through their weight routine and head out for the day.
As Caitlin is getting ready for the night her boyfriend texts saying he has to bail on the game night. Cait should have been disappointed but she's relieved. Maybe tonight will help give the girl some clarity.
Caitlin was right.
The whole night was spent getting to know you. She found out shortly into the first game that your competitiveness matched hers. It made for a fun night for the two of you. The night ended with you and her playing a game, just the two of you. It didn't occur to either of you that it had just been you two for the last 20 minutes.
What was most surprising to Cait was how easy it was. She thought it would be weird or awkward but your conversation flowed easily. By the end of the night the younger girl didn't want it to end.
You are walking out with Caitlin when you decide to be a little bold. You walk her to her car.
"That was a fun one," you say.
"It was. It was great getting to know you a little more," Caitlin says, feeling her palms become sweaty. She looks everywhere except your eyes, trying to suppress the thoughts and feelings stirring inside of her.
You bring your hand up to brush come of the hair out of her face, tucking it behind her ear. You are a lot closer than Caitlin remembers. She finally looks up and her eyes meet yours. Your hand remains by her face, not quite touching.
Caitlin leans her head over just a smidge, drawing the contact from your hand. Her eyes close as your thumb rubs her cheek.
To anyone watching, it was all innocent. But between the two of you, it was electrifying. The closeness. Your touch on her cheek. Caitlin's curiosity gets the best of her and begins to lean in.
You lean in but instead of your lips meeting, you lean your forehead against hers. To say Caitlin was disappointed was an understatement.
"I know you have a boyfriend," you whisper. "And I am not going to be the one to make you a cheater but I do want to kiss you."
Caitlin blushes like crazy, eyes still closed and forehead still on yours. She is not ready to part from the closeness.
"You intrigue me, rookie," you say and finally part from the girl.
Caitlin wants to tell you how she has not once felt what she is feeling now with her boyfriend. That she has felt more alive with you that night than she had in the last three months. Neither of which escape Caitlin's lips.
You give the girl one last look and head to your car.
The next few weeks the team sees the crush that Caitlin has developed on you. None of them say anything considering she is still in a relationship, that is until she isn't.
Caitlin had replayed the game night in her head more times than she could count. She had thought on it so much that it led her to a sitdown with her boyfriend, ultimately ending with them taking a break.
Caitlin thought she would be sad and angry even at the fact that the guy didn't seem to be upset in any way but all she could feel was relief. If that wasn't a sign, she doesn't know what would be.
Another game night approaches and outside of playing, Cait help but think about seeing you. You have yet to wear her jersey and it has been driving Cailtin insane. She has been doing great things on the court but for some reason, you haven't chosen her yet.
Clark runs out to the court, eyes immediately looking for you. She has one goal today and it involves you. She doesn't see you as names are called for the starting line up and she begins to worry. You are always there for the starting lineup.
The teams get set to kick off the game and you frantically make your way to your seat. Caitlin sees you sit down but can't make out the jersey you are wearing. She has to remind herself that isn't what is important at the moment, the only thing that matters is showing up and out for this game.
Caitlin goes out the gates with a bang. Over the course of the game, she is doing everything on the floor. It is in the fourth quarter that Caitlin reaches up to grab a rebound when the crowd erupts.
You jump to your feet and cheer on Clark as she becomes the first WNBA rookie to record a triple-double. The crowd is going wild but Caitlin knows the job isn't done. She pushes pace, passing Lexi the ball where she draws a foul. When the clock stops she looks over at you still on your feet and clapping.
Her heart jumps when she sees you in her jersey. About damn time, she thinks as she pulls her attention back to the game. The team pushes in the last final minutes and pulls through with the win.
The team celebrates, Caitlin, trying to pull away to find you. When she spots you, she runs right up to you.
"Just had to show off, didn't you," you say teasing the girl.
"You and me, Friday night. I am taking you out," Caitlin says with the utmost confidence.
You look up at her, beaming.
"Okay Clark, Friday," you say and Caitlin is now the one beaming.
The team comes up, shaking Caitlin. You think it is for the triple-double but soon find out it is because she has finally asked you out.
"About time," Erica says. Caitlin looks appalled.
"About time? About time? If anything there you should be saying 'about time' to is this girl wearing my jersey," Caitlin points at you in her jersey, a sight she wants to see every game moving forward.
"Hey, I had to give you some time to get there, and you did so I don't know why you are complaining," you say giving Cait's shoulder a little shove.
"Oh you wanna go, I am ready to go," she says bumping her body with yours.
"The only play you two are going is out tomorrow night," Lexi says and both of your heads whip to her.
Caitlin's cheeks heat up as she looks to hide her face. She leans into you, hiding it on your shoulder.
"I mean, she isn't wrong," you say to Cait as you feel her groan.
AN: Another cute one. Sort of feels a little choppy but let me know what you think. And as always, thank you for your love and support 🤍
