We're currently living through the consequences of exhortations to "be kind." That nice-sounding lies that make people feel good, regardless of the consequences, are better than the truth they want to deny.
But reality cannot be denied for long.

sorry no one except maybe hiba (ily mwah) is going to care about this but one of the most popular dramas on right now (mujhe pyaar hua tha) is driving me utterly mad with the fan response it's like people's collective horniness for wahaj ali has banished all critical thought or sympathy for women who are thrust into situations like maheer's (the female mc). i simply cannot grasp how anyone can call a girl bratty bc she dared to fall in love with someone other than her cousin and then when that person's family humiliated her she decided to marry her cousin without complaint bc it was what her family mandated for her and then when her ex-fiance began harassing her somehow she got accused for being an adulterer even though she had accepted her new relationship with her cousin despite it making her miserable. like a girl has been thrust into an impossible situation in which everyone feels entitled to tell her what to do rather than leaving her to ever make her own choices and somehow her being depressed and anxious because of all of this makes her bratty and inconsiderate of others. the most ironic thing of all is that everyone lauds saad (the male mc) for being an absolute angel bc he's patient and doesn't impose on her and is ready to leave her if she wants him to but somehow that adoration of him doesn't actually translate to holding similar sentiments for maheer? like if you like saad so much maybe you should do the same as him and support maheer rather than acting like she's the brattiest scum of the earth. i hate pakistani drama audiences so much it's unreal
#mujhe pyaar hua tha#also the funny thing is everyone says hania chooses weak bratty characters consistently and that couldn't be farther from the truth lmfao#admittedly i do think mere humsafar was a terrible horrible regressive drama but anyone with a brain can tell that hania's#inclination is towards naive characters who are MISUNDERSTOOD and ABUSED but remain confident and independent in the face of it#either that or they gain confidence the way hala did in mere humsafar#the ending was absolutely corny and hamza's mom didn't deserve any forgiveness but prior to that maheer took a stand for herself against#EVERYONE. and somehow her managing to do that only after years upon years of physical and psychological abuse made her a weakling#there's such an omnipresent sentiment in pakistani society that women who refuse to withstand abuse are weak and incosiderate of others#and i HATE it. what maheer is going through in this drama is nothing short of emotional abuse she's literally being toyed with by#everyone except saad and no one cares how depressed it's all making her except for him#we have so little sympathy for our female heroines it's unreal like i read these youtube comments and i feel murderous i swear

[clip from episode 8 season 2 “Drive With a Dead Girl”]
INCOMING TRUCOOP SCENE ANALYSIS!!!
this scene always kills me with the angst and not enough people talk about it </3
harry never doubted dale during the entire investigation. no matter how out of the box or weird coop’s methods were he was ALWAYS extremely on board with it all! even going so far as to defend cooper when people pointed it out.
it honestly stunned me a bit seeing harry get to his limit and do the exact same thing everyone else had been doing to cooper the entire series ): it’s so obvious that cooper trusted harry enough at this point to tell him about his dreams without the fear of being looked at like he was crazy…
the way harry speaks to him is still so kind despite how worked up he was getting. he tries to be gentle, even putting his soft hands on cooper to comfort him in some way. he knew that the honesty was going to be too much again. he didn’t really mean what he was saying.
i love how you can tell that it hurts harry to say these things out loud as much as it hurts cooper having to stand there and hear it. you can see cooper taking it in but as soon as harry mentions tibet his heart drops. the way he tries to hide his frown by the end but can’t UGHHH harry was the last person cooper expected to feel misunderstood by.
what’s worst is that dale found so much comfort in the town of twin peaks to the point where he’s ready to move in when he has the chance. he sees twin peaks/the sheriff’s station as a place where he’s openly welcomed so i can totally see why dale makes the “outsider” comment. this was the first time we hear harry not so subtly remind cooper that he’s the one in charge at the station since it’s his home and his job. it was almost as if that entire conversation reminded cooper that he is “out of place”AGAIN!!! i felt so bad for him…especially since it’s obvious that people see him as this off putting/weird person despite him literally just living his horrifying truths & being a good person.
i also think it says A LOT that cooper didn’t stay to try to argue or defend his stance. usually he’d be quick to counterpoint but the fact that he simply agrees so he can leave the conversation is SO SAAD he couldn’t even give him a fake smile before he left the scene ):
i wouldn’t have thought much about it except afterwards you can clearly see regret on harry’s face… he knew he had made a mistake. also i noticed that later that night cooper calls the sky “starless” and speaks to diane about how the ending of the case gets super difficult while a piece of comfort pie sits on his bedside table ):
they care about each other so much WAHHH

i couldnt get a good screenshot of this last one for the comic but its my favorite fringe theory. certain patterns of rock carvings by ancient peoples look similar to patterns of plasma discharge when the plasma is magnetically confined. where would various cultures from millennia ago have observed magnetically confined plasma? well, the aurora is made of magnetically confined plasma. the paper suggests that the solar wind may have been one or two degrees of magnitude stronger millennia ago, creating giant plasma structures in the sky, which were then seen and recorded in stone

Stunning Greek Mosaics Uncovered in Syria
A rare and stunning mosaic panel depicting Greek scenes has recently been uncovered in the Homs province of Syria. Experts say it dates back to the Roman era.
Syrian state news agency SANA reported that archeologists unearthed the sizeable mosaic panel constructed 1,600 years ago in the city of al-Rastan, adding that “the panel has no parallel in the world”.
The Syrian Directorate of Antiquities noted that it was found in an area previously held by the opposition forces of Syria.
Dr. Humam Saad, director of excavation studies and the archaeological mission in al-Rastan, said that the discovery actually took place in 2018. But the Syrian opposition forces who controlled the Homs province meant that archeologists could not uncover it earlier.
However, with the return of Bashar Assad’s regime forces, archaeologists finally received access. This allowed them to reveal the mosaic, which has a length of 20 meters and a width of 6 meters.
Archaeologists still believe there is a possibility of finding more remains under the mosaic.
Unearthed Mosaic depicts two main Greek Scenes
The uncovered Mosaic features two main scenes. One depicts soldiers carrying swords with shields seen with the names of Greek leaders who took part in the Trojan War. The war was a legendary conflict between the ancient Greeks and the people of Troy more than 2,000 years ago.
The second is a portrayal of Neptune(Greek Poseidon), the Ancient Roman/Greek god of the sea, and 40 of his mistresses.
Around the 12th century BC when the rift between the ancient Greeks and the people of Troy began, the Trojan prince Paris abducted Helen, wife of king Menelaus of Sparta.
When Menelaus demanded her return, the Trojans refused. In turn, Menelaus persuaded his brother Agamemnon to lead an army against Troy.
The Greeks ravaged Troy’s surrounding cities and countryside for nine years. The city held out nonetheless, being well-fortified and commanded by Hector and other sons of the royal household.
On the 10th and final year of war, the Greeks had the brilliant idea to build a large hollow wooden horse and hide a select force of men inside. The Greeks pretended to sail away, and the Trojans pulled the horse into their city as a victory trophy. In this manner, they entered the city of Troy and won the war.
A long-held argument about whether the battle actually took place is still raging. Nevertheless, there is enough evidence indicating its truth. Unfortunately, however, no one has ever found the giant wooden horse.
The reality of the battle now justifies all the stories spread about the war. This includes the tale of Achilles. The great ancient Greek warrior was invulnerable because his mother dipped him in the River Styx while a child. Yet according to ancient Greek mythology, he was left vulnerable at the part of the body by which she held him; his left heel.
Greek Mosaic in Syria “complete and rarest of its kind”
Dr. Saad said “It is not the oldest of its kind, but it’s the most complete and the rarest,”
“We have no similar mosaic,” referring to the significance and uniqueness of the unearthed mosaic.
He also told the press that “What is in front of us is a discovery that is rare on a global scale.” Furthermore, he stated, the images are “rich in details, and includes scenes from the Trojan War between the Greeks and Trojans”.
In Ancient Greek and Roman mythology, the Greek demigod hero Hercules slayed Hippolyta, queen of the Amazons, in one of his 12 labours. That finding apparently connects with history.
Saad further added, “We can’t identify the type of the building, whether it’s a public bathhouse or something else, because we have not finished excavating yet.”
Prior to the armed conflict in Syria, there had not been significant excavation efforts in the city of al-Rastan, despite its historical significance in the country, Saad said.
He added that “Unfortunately, there were armed groups that tried to sell the mosaic at one point in 2017 and listed it on social media platforms.”
By James Ssengendo.

Allah calls Himself Al-Baseer— The All-Seeing, The All-Perceiving, The All-Comprehending — on 42 occasions in the Quran. He is the One whose perfect sight encompasses the whole creation. Al-Baseer has insight into all things and Who perceives every detail, every state of existence, and every circumstance!
The All-and-Ever-Seeing, The Comprehending
Baseer comes from the root baa-saad-raa, which points to four main meanings. The first main meaning is to see or notice, and the second to understand. The third main meaning is to have insight or to perceive, and the fourth is to be precisely aware.
This root appears 148 times in the Quran in 10 derived forms. Examples of these forms are al-absaaru (the eyes), al-basaru (the vision), mubsiratan (visible) and absara (sees).
Linguistically, baseer is on the structure of intensification. Al-Baseer refers to the perfection and the totality of Allah’s seeing, which cannot be compared with the seeing of any other created being.
Al-Baseer Himself says: Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing. [Quran, 17:1] . . . There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the Hearing, the Seeing [Quran, 42:11] . . . And Allah judges with truth, while those they invoke besides Him judge not with anything. Indeed, Allah— He is the Hearing, the Seeing. [Quran, 40:20]
Supervision in worship and worldly affairs
An employee will most likely work harder when his manager is watching him; how much stronger is the effect when we know we are being watched by our creator? When we engage in our worldly affairs, like our job or our interactions with others, we should be aware that there is much more at stake than just the supervision of our boss or even our parents. Al-Baseer loves for the believer to do the best in every work we do, and He will recompense us in the Hereafter far beyond whatever worldly profit we might earn.
This is why the Prophet told us about the formula to live by: Allah loves that when you engage in some work, you do so with proficiency. [al-Bayhaqee] This inspires us to engage in our work with honesty and integrity and this is the best quality assurance for everything a believer does in this world.
How Can You Live by This Name?
1. Watch your deeds!
How many times have you watched your deeds when certain people were around? As a Muslim one of your tasks is to mind the acts of your limbs and your heart anytime, anywhere, and in any company. A practical tip is to imagine yourself being watched by a camera which follows you 24/7, whether you are with people or all alone. The sight of Al-Baseer cannot be topped by a hundred million cameras.
2. Trust in Al-Baseer at all times.
He sees every obstacle and sorrow you face and everything others do to you, He is the Only One Who only gives you what is good for you at all times. Therefore submit and put all your trust in Him only. Al-Baseer says: And put your trust in the Mighty, the Merciful, who sees you when you stand up (to pray) and your bowing in prostration with those who bow down. [Quran 26: 217-219]
3. Strive for quality.
Knowing that Allah sees everything you do encourages you to be more devoted in your worship, more righteous in your deeds, and kinder to others. This is why Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Excellence in faith is to worship your Lord as if you see Him, and though You do not see Him, know that He sees you. [Al-Bukharee, Muslim] Strive for ehsaan (excellence) in every act you do.
4. Persevere.
Al-Baseer reassured the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and says: So wait patiently for your Lord’s decree, for surely you are in Our sight. [Quran, 52: 48] Isn’t it the most comfortable and reassuring feeling for your heart knowing as a believer Your Lord is so close to you and sees and hears everything you go through? When others do injustice to you and no one seems to notice, take strength from the fact that Al-Baseer is seeing them and will recompense them.
5. Believe in the decree of Al-Baseer.
Whenever Allah creates something, grants something, gives life, causes death, guides someone, or allows someone to stray, it is in accordance with His wisdom, His perfect knowledge, and His complete vision that nothing can escape.
Jihaad is ordained for you (Muslims) though you dislike it, and it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know. [Quran, 2:216] Al-Baseer observes how you respond to His ayaat. Believe that everything Al-Baseer does is a complete tailor-made test for you and only for your own good, even though you might not like it.
6. Seek refuge in Al-Baseer.
Knowing that Allah is the All-Seeing protects the believer from committing sins. Since Allah ‘azza wa jall is taking account of everything we do, there is no escape from Him except to seek refuge with Him. Use the isti’aadhah (saying: a’oodhu billaahi minash-shaytaanir rajeem) a lot in your daily life, in times of anger, fear, and despair.
7. Ask Al-Baseer to bless your sight.
Allah Al-Baseer loves those who use the abilities He gave them for His sake. Did Allah give you eyes to look at forbidden things or to work in unpermitted business? Did He give you the blessing of understanding and having insight, like when you study, for you to be lazy and not care? Ask Him to help you to use your sight and insight only for things pleasing to Him.
8. Make dua to Al-Baseer abundantly.
Al-Baseer sees every hardship you face, so invoke Him and supplicate to Him. Remember at all times; the fact that you are able to make sujood and even say Yaa Allah is a blessing that surpasses all others.
O Allah, Al-Baseer, we know You see every move we make. Aid us to watch our deeds and use our sight and insight for Your sake only, and make us grateful for the blessings of our senses. Protect us from bad deeds, and support us in doing everything we do, in worship and worldly affairs, with excellence, ameen!
And Allah knows best.

ISLAM 101: AN INTRODUCTION TO HADITH: Part 18
Pride and Humility
TRANSLATION Abdullah ibn Mas’ud, may Allah be well pleased with him, reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
“No one who has an atom’s weight of pride in his heart will enter Paradise.”A man said, “And if the man likes his clothes to be good and his sandals to be good?” Allah’s Messenger said: “Allah is Beautiful and loves beauty. Pride means to renounce the truth and abuse of people.” (Sahih Muslim, Iman,147. See also: Sunan Abu Dawud, Libas, 26; Sunan at-Tirmidhi, Birr, 61).
NARRATOR
Abdullah ibn Mas’ud
One of the leading Companions, Abdullah ibn Mas’ud is among the first
of those to believe.
He is the first Companion to openly recite the Qur’an in Mecca.
Abdullah ibn Mas’ud is the Companion who killed Abu Jahl.
He was a gifted reciter of the Qur’an.
Ibn Mas’ud is one of the founders of Islamic jurisprudence, being of the Companions well versed in the religion.
He is, in particular, the linchpin of the Hanafi school of jurisprudence.
He returned to Medina towards the end of Uthman’s caliphate. Falling ill at age sixty, he passed away in the thirty-second year after the Emigration.
EXPLANATION
1. Pride refers to haughty self-conceit and refusal to submit to Allah.
The Almighty has cautioned human beings in this regard throughout the Qur’an:
“…Allah does not love those who are conceited and boastful” (an-Nisa 4:36).
Do not strut about the earth in haughty self-conceit; for you can never split the earth (no matter how hard you stamp your foot), nor can you stretch to the mountains in height (no matter how strenuously you seek to impress). (al-Isra 17:37)
While these verses exhort human beings to be mindful of pride and arrogance, another again describes the human attribute of pride as being in actual fact a Satanic attribute and explains that unnecessary pride constitutes an obstacle to submission to the Divine command. For even Satan was banished from Paradise due to his pride:
(Allah) said: “O Iblis! What prevents you from prostrating before the being whom I have created with My two Hands? Are you too proud (to bow down before any created being in defiance of My command), or are you (of those who think themselves) so high in honor (that they cannot be ordered to prostrate before anyone)?” (Saad 38:75)
2. While Allah warns human beings in relation to pride and self-conceit, He has employed verses of encouragement concerning its exact opposite, modesty, and humility, even characterizing such people as “the (true) servants of the All-Merciful”:
The (true) servants of the All-Merciful are they who move on the earth gently and humbly, and when the ignorant, foolish ones address them (with insolence or vulgarity as befits their ignorance and foolishness), the response with (words of) peace, (without engaging in hostility with them) (al-Furqan 25:63).
From this standpoint, those who are proud and obstinate enough in their pride not to prostrate before Allah assume the characteristic not of being the servants of the All-Merciful, but on the contrary, being servants of Satan.
3. The hadith under consideration indicates that a person with even the most minuscule amount of pride in their heart will not enter Paradise.
A conceited person will either face punishment until they are completely cleansed of this affliction and then enter Paradise as a result of their belief or Allah, Who has full power over everything, will forgive that servant and place them in His Paradise with a heart that is purified. We learn also that the desire to dress well is not connected with pride. What can be the wisdom behind a seemingly wicked characteristic being placed in the nature of a human being? This quality has been given to human beings with a view to their protecting the position of Islam, the honor of the Qur’an, religion, their spiritual values, their integrity, and similar cherished things. If a person is to have pride, they ought to have it in protecting these. Unfortunately in our day, however, people have for some reason become rather lax and lazy in protecting these; but they have become quite industrious and even oversensitive when it comes to their personal pride. The Pharaohs, Nimrods, and the Abu Lahabs have lost because of their pride.
4. After all, does Allah not charge His Messenger with humility, through the language of the Qur’an:
“Spread your wings (to provide care and shelter) over the believers who follow you (in practicing Allah’s commandments in their lives)” (ash-Shu’ara 26:215).
There are many such verses in the Qur’an. Moreover, Allah’s Messenger sought the same thing, wanting to be “a Prophet slave” when Allah had asked him. This is why we say, “Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger,” in the Declaration of Faith.
5. Acknowledging all the bounties that Allah has bestowed is a form of thankfulness.
This, in turn, leads to an increase in such bounties. Turning a blind eye to Him, however, is ingratitude; ingratitude necessitates punishment and causes the discontinuance of the bounty. A person must always see everything as coming from Allah and must proclaim, “Everything is from You, and You are the All-Wealthy. To You have I turned my face.” However, a person must not conceal the Divinely bestowed bounties in fear of being arrogant. That is, a person must also know how to announce and testify to Allah’s favors when necessary. So, how is this balance to be maintained? As a case in point, a man gives a coat to someone as a gift. If another man says to the bearer of the gift, who is wearing the coat, “How fine you are,” and he responds by saying, “The beauty is in the coat,” then he would have combined humility with verbal expression and announcement of the bounty.
WHAT WE HAVE LEARNED
If pride has reached the point of disrespect towards Allah, the proud person forfeits the chance of entry into Paradise.
People who see themselves as superior to others and are thus haughty and conceited commit a major sin.
A person can dress finely, provided that they are not overtaken
by arrogance and self-conceit.
A person must see their own shortcomings if they wish to free themselves of pride and arrogance. A person who does not see their own faults cannot achieve self-correction.

Okay, look, listen to me: there is nothing weird about grown ups having sex okay? It's a thing people do and it's not extraordinary, and its not shameful.
For two grown adults in a relationship, you don't need to do a bunch of buildup to them having sex; you can just have them ask"hey wanna have sex?" and move on to other things.
Similarly you don't need to start looking for "evidence" then go "oh my god they fucked!!!" for characters who have been in a several years long relationship, that is kinda to be expected, even if it's not a universal truth.
To quote gone too soon hip hop and reggae legend Natasja Saad: "sex is good, sex is cool, sex is healthy".
You absolutely don't have to have sex, and you're the only one who gets to decide when you're ready for sex - but if you're gonna be weird about it, at least be the fun kind of weird that involves people getting chained up by nuns and having gallons of heavy cream poured over them.
#valk yelling at clouds#What are you here for if not me rambling about whatever little thinh that currently annoys me?

BE THE ONE ;; someone she hurt ?? a friend or a lover , maybe she ran because feelings got too heavy too fast or maybe her busy scendule ultimately caused her to leave them behind ?? either way , this ode is for them , saying she’s wrong , and how she wishes to have them back and for them to give her another chance .

NEW RULES ;; the classic toxic ex trope . someone she still has a hard time shaking off bc she still cares about them so whenever they keep on knocking at her door in the middle of the night , despite her “ new rules “ to keep him away , she can’t help herself .
IDGAF ;; an ex lover who broke her heart , so she wrote a song about him hehehehe .
DON’T START NOW ;; yet another ex - lover song that turned out to be a massive bop hehehe .
PHYSICAL ;; something that started out as purely physical ... a fwb of a sort , but it’s ELECTRIC , unexplainable , and despite them not being exclusive , it’s almost an unwritten thing that they care and how they have each other’s backs .
LEVITATING ;; maybe someone she met on a vacation somewhere , they had one of the most amazing flings but it’s never been anything serious , but it still made an impression on her despite how short it was , so she wrote him a song too :)

THE LETTER T_Tee
The letter T, pronounced "tee," has its origins in the Phoenician letter taw, symbolizing a mark or sign. The Greeks used it as Tau, and it became T in the Latin alphabet. T is a pillar of structure, often representing time, trust, truth, and teamwork.

Ali Junejo in Joyland (Saim Sadiq, 2022)
Cast: Ali Junejo, Rasti Farooq, Alina Khan, Sarwat Gilani, Salmaan Peerzada, Sohail Sameer, Sania Saeed, Ramiz Law. Screenplay: Saim Sadiq, Maggie Briggs. Cinematography: Joe Saade. Film editing: Saim Sadiq, Jasmin Tenucci. Music: Abdullah Siddiqui.
Haider (Ali Junejo) is a milquetoast, serving as factotum to everyone in the large household in Lahore, including his father (Salmaan Peerzada), his older brother, Saleem (Sohail Sameer), his sister-in-law, Nucchi (Sarwat Gilani), and their daughters. While his wife, Mumtaz (Rasti Farooq), works, he stays home, unable to find a job. When we first see Haider he is being pressed into service to take Nucchi to the hospital on his motorbike because she is about to give birth to another daughter. And then things change: Haider finds a job, and it's Mumtaz's turn to stay home -- though she really doesn't want to -- and cater to the family's needs. And so begins Saim Sadiq's prize-winning debut feature, a comic story that turns tragic in its course. Haider's chief problem is with the job he has found: backup dancer to a performer in a musical revue. Her name is Biba (Alina Khan), and she's transgender. At first, Haider tells the family that he's a stage manager, but the truth emerges. Everyone realizes that there's not much they can do about it as long as he's bringing in money, so he's allowed to continue. Haider is no dancer, but under Biba's tutelage he gets by, and soon he becomes a favorite of hers. There the complications really begin. Joyland reminded me of the Italian comedies of the 1960s by directors like Pietro Germi and Mario Monicelli that centered on a traditional society's conflict with contemporary ways of looking at the world. Sadiq's Pakistan is like their Sicily, but Joyland turns serious in ways that those films don't. It's a film that maybe doesn't quite set up its turn from comic to serious well enough, but the splendid performances make up for its flaws.

This applies perfectly to internalized white supremacy too. “Oh my god, no I’m not racist!” You sure? I grew up thinking the same thing but I also grew up laughing at derogatory jokes about other cultures. I grew up instinctively being suspect of folks who weren’t white when questioned for the truth (my parents loved cop shows, ugh)
thankfully I found sources created by various folks of colour (sassy latte on insta, Layla F. Saad’s works titled White Supremacy and Me are two off the top of my head)
my point is there are soooo many tiny ways you might not even notice in which ya you are racist too, or how ya you could have ended up a “bad” person really easily. Good, kind people can be racist. Have a good look, it’s sneaky
u ever see someone with extremely fucked up views (or actions) and think wowww if a couple of things in my life went the tiniest bit differently that would have been me

38:1
Ṣãd. By the Quran, full of reminders!
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, The Clear Quran
Sad walqur-ani theeaththikr
— Transliteration
˹This is the truth,˺ yet the disbelievers are ˹entrenched˺ in arrogance and opposition.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, The Clear Quran
Bali allatheena kafaroo fee AAizzatinwashiqaq
— Transliteration
˹Imagine˺ how many peoples We destroyed before them, and they cried out when it was too late to escape.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, The Clear Quran
Kam ahlakna min qablihim min qarninfanadaw walata heena manas
— Transliteration
Now, the pagans are astonished that a warner has come to them from among themselves.[1] And the disbelievers say, “This is a magician, a total liar!
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, The Clear Quran
[1] The pagans demanded an angel to deliver the message, not a human being like themselves.
WaAAajiboo an jaahum munthirunminhum waqala alkafiroona hatha sahirunkaththab
— Transliteration
Has he reduced ˹all˺ the gods to One God? Indeed, this is something totally astonishing.”
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, The Clear Quran
AjaAAala al-alihata ilahan wahidaninna hatha lashay-on AAujab
— Transliteration
The chiefs among them went forth saying, “Carry on, and stand firm in devotion to your gods. Certainly this is just a scheme ˹for power˺.[1]
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, The Clear Quran
[1] They meant that the Prophet (ﷺ) is not concerned with their guidance, and that he only wants to gain dominance over them.
Wantalaqa almalao minhum aniimshoo wasbiroo AAala alihatikuminna hatha lashay-on yurad
— Transliteration
We have never heard of this in the previous faith.[1] This is nothing but a fabrication.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, The Clear Quran
[1] This refers either to the concept of the Trinity in Christianity or Arab polytheistic beliefs.
Ma samiAAna bihatha feealmillati al-akhirati in hatha illa ikhtilaq
— Transliteration
Has the Reminder been revealed ˹only˺ to him out of ˹all of˺ us?” In fact, they are ˹only˺ in doubt of My ˹revealed˺ Reminder.[1] In fact, ˹they do so because˺ they have not yet tasted My punishment.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, The Clear Quran
[1] In other words, they do not question the honesty of the Prophet (ﷺ), but question the Quran itself. This verse is similar to 6:33.
Aonzila AAalayhi aththikru minbaynina bal hum fee shakkin min thikree bal lammayathooqoo AAathab
— Transliteration
Or ˹is it because˺ they possess the treasuries of the mercy of your Lord—the Almighty, the Giver ˹of all bounties˺.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, The Clear Quran
Am AAindahum khaza-inu rahmatirabbika alAAazeezi alwahhab
— Transliteration
Adakah di sisi mereka perbendaharaan rahmat Tuhanmu Yang Maha Kuasa, lagi Yang Maha Melimpah pemberianNya?.
— Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih
38:10
Or ˹is it because˺ the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and everything in between belongs to them? Let them then climb their way ˹to heaven, if their claim is true˺.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, The Clear Quran
Am lahum mulku assamawatiwal-ardi wama baynahuma falyartaqoofee al-asbab
— Transliteration
This is just another ˹enemy˺ force bound for defeat out there.[1]
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, The Clear Quran
[1] This verse alludes to the defeat of the Meccan pagans later at Badr.
Jundun ma hunalika mahzoomunmina al-ahzab
— Transliteration
Before them, the people of Noah denied ˹the truth˺, as did ’Âd, Pharaoh of the mighty structures,[1]
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, The Clear Quran
[1] i.e., pyramids and obelisks.
Kaththabat qablahum qawmu noohinwaAAadun wafirAAawnu thoo al-awtad
— Transliteration
Thamûd, the people of Lot, and the residents of the Forest.[1] These were ˹all˺ enemy forces.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, The Clear Quran
[1] i.e., the people of Shu’aib (ﷺ).
Wathamoodu waqawmu lootin waas-habual-aykati ola-ika al-ahzab
— Transliteration
Each rejected their messenger, so My punishment was justified.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, The Clear Quran
In kullun illa kaththaba arrusulafahaqqa AAiqab
— Transliteration
These ˹pagans˺ are awaiting nothing but a single Blast that cannot be stopped.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, The Clear Quran
Wama yanthuru haola-iilla sayhatan wahidatan ma lahamin fawaq
— Transliteration
They say ˹mockingly˺, “Our Lord! Hasten for us our share ˹of the punishment˺ before the Day of Reckoning.”
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, The Clear Quran
Waqaloo rabbana AAajjil lanaqittana qabla yawmi alhisab
— Transliteration
— Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih
