Okay, I figured out the exact wish the Running One could have made that would enable them to remember the loops... as well as possibly be what prevented Dormont from getting frozen in the initial attack.

When Siffrin is asking around about wishes, they tell them "I asked for Vaugarde to be saved, of course!"

But I think their exact wording, and the wish held deeply in their heart, was more like "I wish that Vaugarde will be saved so no time or freezing shenanigans will stop me from experiencing the joy of running."

And they were probably running around the Favor Tree at the time of doing so--stirring up the leaves and such. Perhaps accidentally stepping on a few in a way that led to them becoming folded over. Their obsession with running such that the "number of times that felt right" to "whisper" their wish was just the once.

So--no freezing of Dormont until the very end because that is the simplest way to stop the King's time stuff from interfering with their hobby. And even if the Saviors had failed, then they just would have needed to be frozen in the same way as Act 5 King, perpetually stuck in the moment of joy. And in between those possibilities, them remembering every loop because to forget any would mean they couldn't explore the joy of running they'd experienced during that particular one.

...Possibly also not being able to think too deeply about the implications of eternal looping through time specifically because doing so would also run the risk of ruining the joy... but, honestly, I don't think it ever would have come to that. Because it is way funnier to imagine that their obsession is 100% their own, no outside influences needed.

We are well beyond canary in the coalmine warning levels with the way trans people and particularly trans women are treated on this site.

Maybe you've heard the metaphor of allowing wolves and sheep to share the same space, welcoming everyone. You end up with just wolves because allowing them in that space makes it unsafe for any sheep. Or the story about how a nazi goes into a dive bar and is refused service. The bartender then explains to someone else at the bar that if you serve them once they tell their friends and before you know it you're the nazi bar they all go to and normal customers don't feel safe.

Terfs and other bigots are seeing these targeted harassment campaigns succeed against trans women and rejoicing. They see Tumblr ban them and officially stand by those decisions as endorsement for their harassment. It's a sign to bigots across the internet that Tumblr is a good place for them.

And what's more is that a lot of us probably don't realize just how much trans women contribute to Tumblr. The women banned recently were sources of site-wide memes and posts I wasn't even aware originated from them.any years old memes and references can be traced back to trans women on this site.

How many of these folks have to be removed before this is no longer a site you want to be a part of it? Sure you cultivate your own experience, but you can't follow or interact with people who aren't here. And if I wanted to interact with the nazis and terfs I'd go to reddit.

I encourage everyone to reblog this. Trans women shouldn't have to be the only ones speaking out against the bigotry they're experiencing. They shouldn't be the only ones risking their blogs being nuked by staff. We have to stand with them.

hey, so people need to be aware that youtube is now (randomly) holding basic features for ransom (such as being able to pin comments under your own videos) in exchange for Your State ID/Drivers License, or a 30 Second Video Of Your Face.

not to pull a "think of the children," but No Actually. I've been making videos as a hobby since 2015 (and I've had my channel since middle school), I was a minor when I started and I'm not sure I would have understood the kind of damage something a seemingly simple as a video of your face can do.

this is a Massive breach of privacy and over-reach on google's part No Matter What, but if they're going to randomly demand a state ID or license then they absolutely should not allow minors to be creators.

google having a stockpile of identifying information on teenagers is bad enough, but the Alternative of recording your face and handing it over to be filed away is Alarming considering it opens the gates for minors who Aren't old enough to have a license.

and yes, there is a third option, but it's intentionally obtuse. a long wait period (2 months), with no guarantee of access (unlike, say, the convenience of using your phone's cameras for either of the other two), with absolutely No elaboration on what the criteria is or how it's being measured.

it's the same psychological effect that mobile games rely on. offer a slow, unreliable solution with no payment to make the Paid instant gratification look more appealing (the "payment" in this case being You. you are the product being offered).

and it's Particularly a system that (I think intentionally) disadvantages people who don't treat their channels like a job. hobbyists or niche creators who don't create regularly enough or aren't popular enough to meet whatever Vague criteria needs to be met to pass.

markiplier would have no problem passing, your little brother might not be able to. and while Mark's name is already out there there's no reason why your little brother's should be too.

something like pinned comments may seem simple, you don't technically Need it. but it's a feature that's been available for years. most people don't look at descriptions anymore. so when there's relevant information that needs to be delivered then the pinned comment is usually the go to.

for my little channel that information is about the niche series I create for. guides on how to get into the series, sources on where to find the content At All (and reliably so). for other creators it can be used for things Much More Important.

Moreover, if we let them get away with cutting away "small" features and selling it back to you for the price of your privacy, then they Will creep further. they Will take more.

In Stars and Time AU where the Running One also remembers the loops.

The reason why could range from weird shenanigans due to their proximity to the giant Change God statue in town, or due to the bends and breaks in reality currently plaguing the world, or due to an early experiment with time freezing by the King before he settled on his current freezing method, or due to more wish craft shenanigans… but whatever is the cause, the important thing is the effect that it would have on canon:

Nothing. Literally nothing else would change in canon.

They never comment on it or bring it up to anyone—let alone Siffrin. Literally no one in town notices anything is off with them… because nothing would be off with them. Their demeanor and personality do not change, no matter how many loops have gone by or what Act Siffrin is currently in—beyond any of the dialogue changes already present due to Siffrin themself being off and clearly suffering, such as in Act 5. But even that is more of a response to Siffrin’s situation, and an attempt at offering some advice or help to someone else who is struggling, rather than because of anything going on internally. Because the Running One themselves? Doesn’t seem bothered by it at all.

If anything, they’re actually secretly pleased that the loops went on for so long, because they were a little annoyed about the fact that the massive planned party in Dormont if the Saviors succeeded was going to end up messing with their daily constitutional given all the decorations and tables and such that were sure to get strewn about and blocking their preferred running path.

The true reason they’re able to always veer away from Siffrin whenever he tries to block the path is because the Running One has been looping and remembering such since possibly even before Loop started their own loops in the Prologue, so they’re on to Loop/Siffrin’s tricks in that regard. …Even though they might not be aware themself that either of the two of them were messing around like that due to loop boredom and testing, vs it just being due to the jokester/trickster personality they’d heard rumors that the Savior with the dagger and darkless hair was said to possess.

And the only reason anyone might find out about their own looping after the fact is if the Running One happened to make some idle offhand comment at some point that probably wasn’t even directed at the Saviors.

Because, like… the Running One never actually figures out what was causing those loops. They didn’t bother questioning it at the time, and they don’t really care one way or another in the aftermath. Beyond maybe, maybe feeling slightly silly for dreading the victory party and its possible ramifications on their preferred running route, because everyone was actually pretty good about cleaning up after themselves and keeping tables and chairs away from the main pathways.

Possibly even the Change God is unaware they were also looping, because they would literally have been doing the exact same thing anyways with or without outside interference.
