sure thing fam.
so. mako's the only one who can and actually does cook, full stop. that's not the most important point but it's one i think about a lot. bolin always had mako cooking for him. mako goes and buys groceries and fucking cooks them. bolin is a takeout kinda guy -- how else would his and mako's food (withheld from their wages) money s1 be so expensive and mako not know about it? bolin was just buying food from other people and not actually buying groceries that he brought home to cook. korra can't/doesn't cook because she's, and i quote, "always had people taking care of her". all her basic needs have been met all her life pre-show and after she comes to RC, where pema and the air acolytes probs do all the cooking on Air Temple Island. asami is rich af and has personal servants. the chance of her actually having to grocery shop and cook are extremely close to zero. mako on the other hand, was actively shown casually cooking and seasoning up some noodles. he buys groceries, he brings home food for bolin, he kept his brother alive for years. home boy can cook (and is probably pretty decent at it too)
next on the list: mako has held down a steady job for years. prior to being a pro-bender, he was working cleaning the arena in exchange for room and board. sure bolin was working too, but we all know mako was pulling the brunt of the weight. he also worked his ass off for the triads while bolin goofed around and bet all their money. and sure sure they were both kids then, but im saying that to set the precedent and demonstrate a pattern. bolin goofed off and splurged their money all the time but mako took everything (and their finances) very seriously. kid picks up extra factory shifts on top of pro-bending to scrape up extra cash, working long physically demanding hours, (and the first thing he does, is bring bolin his favorite food as a peace offering). then he holds down his job at RC police for years. he gets promoted to detective because he's so good at it and so competent. (and then he get's promoted to guarding literal world leader because he's so trustworthy as well). Meanwhile, Bolin jumps from job to job. Pro bender, mover star, kuvira's lackey, varrick's assistant (tho he didn't have a choice in that last one). korra never even had a job. she was on tarlock's task force for a hot second before she bailed on that. sure asami saved and ran a massive successful technology company for several years, but she wasn't already working from the start of s1, as well as her company did technically go bankrupt (tho that's not really her fault).
when no one wants to knock on Lin's door in s3 in zhaofu (idk how to spell anything sorry y'all), they're all making excuses and mako's just like fine whatever i'll do it. and he steps the fuck up and braves whatever the consequences may be. because. he's. responsible.
mako is trusted to guard prince wu at age 22 (maybe earlier since we don't know how long he was doing that for). he's a 22 year old. and he is entrusted with the safety and security of a future world leader to a country in the midst of a major civil war and a major world crisis. like think about that in real life. how insane that actually is, to put a 22 year old by himself in charge of keeping the next world leader alive. he got that position because he is responsible as fuck. now compare to bolin, who was not actually in kuvira's inner circle (until they wanted to use him as a tool to persuade Su and her family). or korra who was never put in charge of guarding or protecting anybody and who frequently needed to be guarded and protected herself.
mako perpetually talked bolin and korra out of numerous bad rash ideas, and then proceeded to save their asses when they went ahead and did them anyways.
he is captain of the fire ferrets because he's the calmest most level headed, reliable, and responsible.
mako reliably takes care of the krew. he tries to keep them out of trouble, he tries to protect them, to rescue them when they get themselves into situations (too many to count or name for bolin and korra, for asami when she literally makes a business deal with a duplicitous fuck (i love varrick ngl) who then double crosses her and steals all her products and bankrupts her. but mako has that plan for how to save the day, and by god he fucking executes on it. sure he gets framed and put in jail but like. semantics lmao. if he hadn't have been set up and framed, he would have succeeded. and even then, he literally did succeed in the end.), and to make everything right. the kid knew how to responsibly spend and budget money, which none of the others did.
during the stakeout for Aiwei, mako was utterly focused and determined and on task. bolin and asami were literally playing a board game. korra was killing time, and trying to get up and barge in on Aiwei. Mako was sitting diligently and patiently at the window, never distracted or looking away, literally taking notes in his logbook.
when they were investigating aiwei in zaofu, bolin goes and touches and moves Aiwei's things, mako is the responsible adult putting them back in place since bolin didn't bother to pay attention.
mako always had a plan. he was never flustered, he never went into a situation half-baked. he always planned and figured shit out, and he was reliable af. korra barged into countless situations with zero caution or plan, but always counted on mako to come up with a plan to save the day and get them out. in s1 when the equalists took bolin, korra just fucking kicks down the doors of the triple threat triad's hq, while mako was all about going in cautiously. then when they get to the equalist rally, mako stops korra from just jumping on stage and starting a fight against hundreds (probs thousands) of equalists to grab bolin. instead he thinks of a good plan and he executes it and gets them all out of there alive and bending in tact.
listen, asami can also be fairly responsible, but she is not Team Mom the way mako is definitively and unequivocally Team Dad.
hi hello would you want to talk about mako with me?
hell fucking yeah I do!!! I could talk about Mako 24/7!! What about Mako do you want to talk about?! His amazing bending skills? His guilt and savior complexes? The struggle and internal angst he must have with bending the same element that was used to kill his parents? The trauma of watching his parents be murdered in front of him when he was eight? Him literally raising his brother entirely alone all by himself on the streets with no support or help from anyone while he himself was a homeless child? The work he did for the triads? The things he must have seen and trauma he incurred? What he must have had to do to get himself and Bolin out of the triads, because top secret dangerous gangs don’t just let people walk away with potentially dangerous knowledge and secrets? Or should we talk about how he was the only responsible member of the gang? How he couldn’t trust anyone and was always used to having to take care of everything all by himself? Should we talk about how he never felt deserving of love or affection and always let other people mistreat and misjudge him and he never resented them for treating him unfairly because he literally didn’t think he deserved any better? Should we talk about how he just wants to protect the people he loves and keep them safe? Or should we talk about how much of an outsider he probably felt like in his earth kingdom family and how he had no connection to his fire nation side or any family members who looked like him? Should we talk about how he had no positive firebending role models growing up and even as an adult, how the only firebenders he ever interacted with were triad members? Or maybe we should talk about how betrayed he must have felt by everyone when varrick framed him, or how betrayed and lonely and abandoned and useless and low he must have felt when Bolin had left and he found out korra had stayed in touch with asami but not him? Or what about the guilt and shame and trauma from when he straight up killed sparky sparky boom lady 2.0? Or what about the fact that he full on sacrificed himself—fully expecting to die— to save Republic City from Kuvira’s evil spirit vine weapon, and was permanently scarred (and probably disabled from it), and how he first ordered Bolin to get out and save Kuivira’s soldiers and himself while Mako stayed behind to blow up the weapon (and probably die in the process)? Or maybe we should talk about how he was so insanely fucking smart and clever and resourceful and logical and rational and brave and also such a huge dork and nerd when he was allowed to be and didn’t have to have all the responsibility and weight of the world on his shoulders? What do you want to talk about friend because I could talk about mako aaaallllllllll fucking day!!

Gideon has a whole protocol for when it gets too cold for Kremy. It's just how his brain works. He solved the issue like it was some machine acting up rather than his friend having a natural reaction to the cold.
First and foremost; GET WARM FAST. Whatever the quickest way to get Kremy warm is, that is the first step. Usually this involves wrapping a blanket around both of them so that Gideon can use his own heat to help him.
Secondly; consider how close the next town is. Is it less than an hour and there's no active snow storm? Great, hot foot it to the inn. Are they actively being snowed on and the next town is half a days walk? Find best cover and set up tents, his own fire could only do so much, and it's not worth the risk at that point just to get inside a building.
Thirdly; once in a relatively dry and protected space, remove any wet clothing and replace with comfy, dry jammies. If no wet clothing, removal beyond jacket and hat is unnecessary. Simply place sleepwear near the bed if Kremy wants to change later.
Fourth; alligators are evidently still able to drink during brumation. Grab waterskin and warm it a little. This will help with internal temperatures. AVOID ALCOHOL.
If all is well, simply prepare for bed. Grab a snack to assure internal fire keeps going all night. Ideal sleeping situation has Kremy on top of Gideon to avoid cold floors if they are in a tent, otherwise just having his arms around him in any other position.
There's only been one time when any other steps were needed. Thankfully they had the rest of the Krew by that point, so Gricko was able to assist, but Gideon really hopes he'll never have to do CPR again.

—(I can't think of a title)

W/C: Idk 1k+
Pairing: Daisuke x GN! Reader
Warnings: nune.
A/N: MY POOKIE GAVE ME A PROMPT SO I WROTE IT,, SAW @freakyydaisukee POST, LUCKY I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF WRITING THIS LOL.
°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・°❀⋆.ೃ
Daisuke had always been one to find excitement in everything. Whether it was the smallest detail of a passing cloud or the newest trend everyone at school was trying to follow, he could always find something to be enthusiastic about. It was just who he was. And it was something that people admired about him—his unrelenting optimism, his constant enthusiasm for life.
But of all the things Daisuke had ever been excited about, there was one person who stood out from the rest.
You.
From the moment he first laid eyes on you in the hallway of their high school, he knew there was something special about you. You weren't like everyone else.. Daisuke admired everything about you. You were pretty smart, funny, made a few friends, and were pretty attractive too. It made Daisuke feel like he could conquer anything, just because he’d seen you smile.
As the years went by, Daisuke found himself drawn to you more and more. He would always try to sit near you in class, though he never had the courage to speak to you outside of group projects or class assignments. His friends always teased him about it, but he didn’t mind. They didn’t understand. His feelings for you weren’t something as simple as a crush—they were a quiet, constant thing that swelled within him each time he saw you.
He would watch you interact with your friends, and he’d wonder if you noticed him at all. Did you know how much he admired you? Did you ever catch his gaze from across the room? Did you ever wonder why he always had that excited smile on his face whenever you were around?
But Daisuke was terrified. High school was the time when everyone was either figuring out who they were or hiding who they were, and Daisuke knew that his feelings for you were something he couldn’t quite put into words. What if he confessed and ruined everything? What if you didn’t feel the same?
So he kept quiet. For years.
And every time he saw you leave school with your friends, he felt his heart sink, knowing that his chance might be slipping away.
--
Graduation came faster than Daisuke had expected. It was a bittersweet moment for him. Everyone was so excited about what came next, about the future that awaited them. He’d felt the same way, once, but now it just felt hollow. The future was full of uncertainty for Daisuke. Sure, he was going to follow in his parents' footsteps and become a mechanic—just like they wanted. But it wasn’t the future that excited him. The future that excited him was the one where he could finally tell you how he felt.
But that opportunity never came. Graduation was a blur of ceremonies, farewell parties, and promises to stay in touch. And you—well, you were already gone. You had plans. Your future seemed set. And Daisuke was left wondering if he would ever get the chance to confess his feelings to you, or if you would just fade into the background of his life like so many people did.
He didn’t know what happened to you after graduation. You disappeared into the vast world, as far as he was concerned. And as time passed, Daisuke told himself that he needed to move on. He needed to focus on his job, on making his parents proud. Maybe he wasn’t supposed to have a grand love story, after all.
--
Two years later, Daisuke found himself on the Tulpar—a spaceship that was about to embark on a long-term mission to ship whatever was in the boxes they couldn't touch or see. His parents looked for a while to find a job that he could do, and when the opportunity to work on a high-end spaceship as a mechanic opened up, they nudged him toward it. He wasn’t exactly thrilled, but he figured it was the right thing to do. It wasn’t the adventure he’d hoped for, but it was steady work. And steady work meant stability.
--
The day of the ship's space launch. He was accepted last minute as an intern but he could care less. He was pretty nervous though, the thought of being in the middle of space for a year is kinda scary for him.
He was just minding his own business before someone crept up to him.
"O-M-G!!," The person exclaimed.
Daisuke froze mid-sentence as he turned toward the voice. His heart skipped a beat.
Standing there, in her flight suit with a clipboard in hand, was you.
It took him a second to process. You. You were standing right in front of him. His mind spun with disbelief and excitement.
"Wait—what?" he blurted out, still in shock.
You raised an eyebrow at him, half-smiling, but there was something about it that felt more genuine, more knowing. "Surprised? Anyways, how have you been... uh... Daisuke correct? We went to the same high school together!" you say excitedly.
"You—you're... you're planning on working on the Tulpar too?" Daisuke asked, the words tumbling out.
You nodded, your eyes scanning the room before they landed back on him. "Yeah. I didn’t know you were here too."
Daisuke's excitement was barely contained. After all these years of admiring you from afar, here you were. In the flesh. On the same ship. And now he had a chance to talk to you—really talk to you.
“I—yeah, I’ve been here for a while.” Daisuke couldn’t stop smiling. “It’s... kind of crazy that we’re both here. You know? I always wondered what happened to you after graduation. I didn’t expect to see you again.”
You smiled softly at that. “I guess we both ended up on the same path, huh?”
He nodded, though his brain was still struggling to keep up. You—here, on the Tulpar, working alongside him. It felt like a dream.
“I never thought I’d be working on a spaceship,” you continued, leaning against the wall as you casually chatted. “I didn’t even think you would, either. But... here we are.”
For the first time in years, Daisuke allowed himself to feel the weight of his excitement. There was a universe of possibilities in front of him now. You were here, and maybe—just maybe—he could find a way to confess the feelings he’d kept hidden for so long.
--
“So... what do you think of the ship so far?” he asked, trying to regain his composure.
You laughed lightly. "It's impressive. But I'm sure you've seen much more than I have. You've been here longer."
“Yeah,” Daisuke said, a gleam in his eye. “But if you want, we could look around together. Maybe help you an I get more comfortable?”
You smiled again, this time in that quiet way that always made Daisuke’s heart race. “I’d like that.”
As the days passed, Daisuke found himself spending more and more time with you. He was thrilled to just be near you, but this time, he didn’t have to hide behind the walls he’d built in high school. He could be himself, and you were there to see it. Slowly, Daisuke began to open up, sharing stories, laughing together, and finding joy in the little moments. And all the while, his feelings for you grew stronger, more real.
Maybe, just maybe, the universe had led him to this moment for a reason.
--
One evening, after a long shift, Daisuke found you just sitting in the couch, the dim lights of the ship casting a soft glow on your face.
"Hey," he said softly, walking up to you. His heart pounded. He didn’t know if he’d ever have the courage to say it, but right now, in this quiet moment, he felt like he could.
“Hey, Daisuke.” You smiled up at him, looking tired but content.
"Look... I don't know how to say this, but I've wanted to say it for a long time. I—" His voice cracked slightly as he struggled to find the words.
You watched him intently, your expression calm, understanding. "What is it?"
"I think... I think I’ve liked you for a long time. Ever since high school," Daisuke blurted out, his face turning red as he stumbled over the words. "I don’t know why I never told you, but... I think I just... really like you."
For a moment, there was silence. Daisuke’s heart raced, waiting for your response, unsure of what would come next.
You stepped closer, your smile widening. “Hehe... I’ve always known,” you said softly with a cheeky grin, and Daisuke’s heart nearly stopped.
“I’m glad you’re here, Daisuke,” you continued, taking his hand in yours. “I’m glad we’re both here.”
And with that, in the endless stretch of space, surrounded by stars, Daisuke realized that sometimes, life’s most beautiful surprises came when you least expected them.

First Kiss
Tumblr media
Summary: your first kiss with each of the Krew!
A/N: this was requested by the lovely @amethyst-gemstone and I love doing these kind of asks so it's here and it's done! Please enjoy!!
Kremy
It a was a rushed first kiss, it was a dire situation to begin with. You didn't know how you got in the predicament you where in but here you were, hiding from a creature that wanted to eat your soul.
You held onto your dagger as you listened closely to the movements it made. The roads it kicked around as it sounded like it got closer to your hiding spot.
“Come out,” it hissed, “I just want a taste.”
You held your breath as a loud hiss came from behind you, readying your dagger to stab at anything you could reach. A sudden darkness filled the space and a steady beat of drums before you heard a yell.
“Voodoo blast!”
A sickening scream and the creature was thrown further into the cave as you heard more footsteps and shouts.
“Chérie!”
“I'm here!”
You ran from your hiding spot towards Kremy, his features going back to normal after his spell, with his arms open to you as you threw yourself on him. As soon as he was able to hold you, he pulled you in and kissed you. It was a quick kiss, as he immediately pulled away and looked you over.
“Are you alright? It didn't hurt you?”
You were too shocked to say anything before he gripped his cane as Gricko came flying over you two.
“Alright we kill this son of a bitch and I'll get you home to take care of you.”
You watched him rush in after the rest and smiled before Grickos groaning caught your attention, rushing to heal him before helping everyone else.
Gideon
Your first kiss with Gideon was kinda messy. You were in the kitchen trying to make a pie when Gideon came into the room. You smiled at him as came up behind you, wrapping an arm around your waist as he pressed a kiss to the side of your head.
“What are you doing gorgeous?”
“Just making a pie. What are you up to?”
“Watching you make pie.”
You laughed as you brought your flour out to start making the dough when you jumped as a hand smacked your ass.
“Gideon Coal!”
“That's my name,” he chuckled before you threw flour at him.
He looked down at his shirt before looking back at you. A sparkle shined in his eyes as he smirked and took a step towards you.
“Oh really? This the game we're gonna play?”
“Gideon-”
You were caught off by Gideon wrapping you in a hug before a his hand reached out and smeared flour on your face. You screeched as you struggled to get out of his grip before he let you go. He was laughing as he ran a hand through his hair.
“Looks like I won.”
You sent a glare his way as he gloated before grabbing a fistful of flour and throwing it at his face. You cackled as his face went from red to white. He wiped a hand down his face, shaking what he could from his beard, before he charged at you.
You squealed as he picked you up and rubbed his face into your neck. You smacked his shoulder with a whine as he laughed and pulled back to see how much he got on you.
You were both covered in flour and the kitchen was a mess. But as he held you up, both breathless from the fight, you could have sworn that sparkle in his eyes got brighter. His eyes went from yours to your lips and back. You wrapped your arms around his neck as he leaned in and pressed his lips against yours. You both smiled as you could feel the flour from his beard and just know it was going to get everywhere. You pulled away for a breath before he pulled you back in as he pressed you against the counter. He pulled back to take in air as he pressed his forehead against yours.
“Well we definitely need to clean this up.” You giggled as he smiled.
“We definitely need a bath. Mind if I join yours?”
“You wish,” you smacked his arm again as he shook his head and helped you clean up.
Frost
Your first kiss was warm. You remember that it was a snowy day outside. Everyone was inside and drinking hot chocolate or something else that warmed them up. Playing card games or telling stories of what they got up too before meeting you. You sat next to Frost as Gideon and Kremy got into an argument about who's retelling was correct.
You shivered a bit as a cold draft hit you and Frost noticed.
“(Y/N), are you cold?”
“Oh just a little.” You started to rub your arms before Frost opened his robe to you.
You smiled and snuggled close to him as his tail wrapped around and settled on your lap, twitching here and there. As you snuggled against him and Kremy finally just kissed Gideon to shut him up, Kremy continued his story.
Everyone was happy and content, lounging around as the snowy continued to blow hard outside. You watched from the corner of your eye as Frost's hand twitched and you noticed his face. He looked like he was concentrating and debating something in his head. His brow furrowed before his hand twitched again before he gently placed it on your thigh.
You stared at it for a second before slowly placing your hand on top, resting it there as you smiled up at him. That made him relax more. You turned your attention back to Kremy when Twig handed out more hot chocolate. You happily took a sip as it was the perfect temperature, no one could make a hot chocolate like Twig.
As it filled you with warmth, you relaxed more into Frost. You felt a puff of air as Frost let out air through his nose and deep purrs. You looked up at Frost as he was watching you and you stopped sipping your hot chocolate. You felt the chocolate on the top of your lip as Frost leaned down and bumped his forehead against yours. You smiled and pushed your head against him as he maneuvered his to the side and stuck his tongue out to lick the chocolate off your lip.
You inhaled sharply as he let out that same air and purred again as he tasted the chocolate. You let out breath from your nose in amusement before he gently pressed his lips against yours. You hummed as your nose twitched as his whiskers tickled. You felt your cheeks warm at how gently he kissed.
He pulled back as you smiled and bumped your head against his again. Frost let out a laugh as you both sat and watched as Gideon now chased Gricko around the house.
Gricko
It was a sleepy kiss. You were ready for bed by the time you got home. Running errands and chasing Hootsie in the sun made you feel warm and eyelids heavy. You finished your bath and washed your face when a little chirp interrupted your thoughts. Hootsie made her way into your room and made herself comfortable by your side. Watching with rapid curiosity as you finished your routine.
You led her out of the bathroom and climbed into bed as she made herself comfortable next to you; spinning around a few times before plopping down with a soft huff. You let your heavy eyes blink once. Then twice before you let then shut and start drifting off to sleep.
A loud bang and huffing startled you to shoot up and rapidly blink at Gricko as he entered your room.
“(Y/N)! This is an emergency! I can't find Hootsie anywhere and I know she comes into here and I figured you would have seen her-”
He stopped mid ramble when Hootsie blinked her big eyes and huffed in annoyance that he interrupted her sleep. He looked to you as your eyes slow blinked at him now that he stopped talking.
“Huh?” Your brain didn't process what he said as he blushed and looked away in embarrassment.
“Sorry about that.”
You gave a sharp nod as you collapsed back into the bed and watched as he floundered in the doorway.
“Are you coming to bed?”
You mumbled it out as he quickly joined you, already dressed for bed in his fox onesie. You were giving him sleepy giggles as he argued with Hootsie to share the blanket as he finally got under the covers. You rolled over and closed your eyes as he said a quick goodnight to you.
“What no goodnight kiss?” You mumbled as you felt the bed shift. It was silent for a moment before a soft brush against your lips woke you enough to realize Gricko was kissing you.
You inhaled and pressed your lips against his. Feeling how soft they were as his hand cupped the side of your face. He pulled away as you smiled softly, keeping your eyes shut as the warmth and comfort made you slip into slumber.
“Goodnight my sweet beauty.”
Torbek
Torbek's first kiss was just sweet. You were enjoying a few sweet treats that Gideon brought back to you. You had a few hard candies, taffy, and some cookies. You were happily munching on taffy when Torbek joined you on the couch.
“Hello Torbek,” you mumbled out with taffy in your mouth.
“Hello (Y/N)? What are you eating?”
“Oh just some taffy. Do you want some?”
“Oh yes please,” he grabbed the handful out of your palm before stuffing it all in his mouth.
You tried to stop him, to tell him that he had to unwrap them, but just watched with your mouth agape as he just chewed them all. You grimaced as he stuck his tongue out and grabbed a piece of paper.
“Torbek thinks it's good but would be better without the wrapping.”
You just giggled before it turned into a burst of laughter as he just watched you. You waved your hand to try and show him that you weren't really laughing at him.
“S-sorry Torbek. That was just really cute. I couldn't help myself.”
You glanced over as he looked a little disheartened and you immediately sobered up. You quickly sit up on your knees to reassure him before he just wraps an arm around your waist to hold you. He nuzzles his face into your boobs and you stroke his head. He looks up at you after a while and you smile at him.
“I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings Torbek.”
“That's ok.”
He still looks sad but you pressed your lips to his reassurance as he makes a noise of surprise before melting into you. You smiled and pulled away as you brush his hair back. He smiles as he locks his lips and hums.
“Ooh, it tastes like huckleberry.”
“My favorite,” you giggled before he pulled you down for another kiss, holding you tight to him as he smiled and you enjoyed a few more sweets.

So, I got a little into Frostbek last night and because I am one to do I made it angsty. Also I wrote a fic!
So....imagine if you will nearing the end of OUAW Torbek has an internal battle with The Duke because he has been getting more violent towards his friends. Because this is fantasy it takes just as much out of him as a real fight. He wins but not without fatal damage. As he comes back to the physical pain of existence he collapses. He made the rest of the Krew stay and at this moment they rush forward. Frost is first and catches him. He let's out a sigh of relief when Torbek opens his eyes slightly and he sees they are both amber. Because during the fight one was amber and one was pink. Torbek smiles up at him and goes, "Torbek won, you are safe, Torbek did it." Frost let's out a watery laugh because for someone who won, Torbek sounds so weak. He moves to call Gricko, not letting go of Torbek, forward to heal him but Torbek stops him. Telling him it won't work but he's glad he made sure they were safe before he goes. Frost looks down and sees Torbek fighting to stay awake/alive a little long. He starts to tell him not to be ridiculous and to let Gricko heal him. But Torbek cuts him off saying "Torbek is glad you're safe, Torbek loves you." He smiles because he finally managed to tell Frost his feelings for the first and last time. And despite Frost's pleds and growing pitch, Torbek finally stops fighting and lets death take him.

One of my fave things about people who write angst + hurt/comfort fics for the Krew is that those fuckers have to pool all their brain power together to come up with like 5 positive coping skills - and even then, those coping skills are vague and barely helpful if that.
In other campaigns, people like the Witchhunters have spent pretty much decades of their lives being tormented about their traumas and having it weigh down upon them so heavily they can't help but be aware it's trauma - same with the Icebound gang and so on. Like by episode 17 of EoM they fucking saw their deepest most traumatic memory; and by like idk ep 10 or something of Icebound they all physically experienced one another's life story. But the Krew are middle-aged men who have been friends for over a decade and yet by eps like 40-50 they can still barely share basic personal facts about themselves without feeling deeply weirded out. And yet several of their party members - let's be real, the whole party - is deeply fucked up and traumatized; but God forbid they know how to handle it.
That's why I looove OUAW fics. You get to watch a dude who is like "oh yeah my brain is just like this and wants to kill me and I wanna blow up and die all the time like most human(oid) beings, it's very normal as I am also very normal." and the rest of the krew is like "hmmm, maybe [interchangeable party member] isn't doing so well. Idk how to help, though, " and you get to watch them stumble through giving another person basic comfort and do so with the best intentions and the emotional intelligence of a preteen.

I kind of want to see Kremy writhing with guilt
Hardly coherent rambling below the cut
I want to see him guilty for what he has done to others, I want to see him filled with cold, choking guilt for having emotions. Everyone in the Krew has had it rough, Gideon with the train, Frost with the order, Torbek with literally everything. Kremy also has had it bad, with Garou. But it was his fault.. he CHOSE to work for him, practically begged for it. I want Kremy to be painfully aware of that, not because he would have done anything different but because his suffering was a choice. I love reading about Kremy having a terrible childhood but I kind of like to imagine that his homelife was just ok. Sure his dad was absent and maybe his relationship with his brother wasn't the best but his Mom and Meemaw tried their best to keep him afloat. He always had food on the table and at least a roof above his head. So if his life was decent and is still considerably not horrible why does he feel empty, sad, and unfufilled? Why does he deserve to cry himself to sleep when the rest of his buddies went through so much worse and still hold their heads high? Would their lives have gotten better faster if they had never met him? When they all sit around the fire, sharing stories and companionship in their shared trauma, I want him to feel apart from them, with something almost akin to jealousy at that they share something he could never understand. And I want him to feel guilty for that. So very guilty. But he swallows it down and pretends that he isn't. Kremy Lecroux is a selfish man, a sinner, he doesn't feel guilt. And if he does, well noone has to know, and he can just sit down next to his little family and offer everyone another cup of coffee and move on. Until the freezing little ball of guilt inside of him decides to rear it's head and it's just rinse and repeat inside of his head.
I don't know if this is logical in any way but I felt like yapping :D

Tumblr media
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ ‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ ‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “ 𝓘'm sorry, is this OUR stab wound.ᐣ ”
Tumblr media
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ With one hand trying to put pressure in a red spot to stop the blood while the other was throwing fire attacks in a desperate manner, you were helping the Krew to fight a group of bandits trying to terrorize a village. One of them was a metalbender who got you off guard and made a deep cut on your left side.
Sweat was dripping down your face, it was notorious how your breathing became irregular by the way your chest was moving and your arm use to bend was starting to ache.
You were tired already and your opponent seemed to notice that, at one point you needed to buy some time to breathe so you decided to make a maximum effort and put your last reservation of energy in taking him out.
You made him back a couple of steps when throwing kicks and fire and at the second you realized he got disoriented, a lightning was shot at him by you. The only sound after the rumble of said element was his body impacting with the floor and your heavy breathing while both hands took place on your knees, trying to calm yourself down.
The voice of the avatar made an echo behind you, she was yelling your name looking for you once everyone was defeated.
You were quick to take a piece of fabric and tie your abdominal area to stop the bleeding; it wasn't that bad of a injury, you thought to yourself, it will heal quickly.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “There you are!” The southerner exclaimed when she got eyes on your figure, you were fixing up your hair. “I heard the lightning, are you okay?”
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Course,” you move a little bit to show the body of your opponent, Korra raised her eyebrows. “He's going to be fine. . . I think, don't worry 'bout him!” your hand was fast to reach hers and make her walk beside you. “Are we leaving?”
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Yeah, everyone is on the ship already, you got the farthest.” she said, her brows frown a little bit at the sensation of liquid in the hand she was holding yours. The avatar took away that hand and look at it. “You're bleeding!?” she asked horrified and looked up at you.
You were serene at the situation, you dismissed the seriousness of the injury moving your hand. “It's nothing, Korra, it was a superficial cut, I'll be fine.”
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Are you sure? Let me see—” she tried to reach you to look for said cut and you moved away way too quick that made you groan with pain.
The adrenaline was washing away leaving you with a sore body and a stinging pain on the side. Your girlfriend frowned again. “I'm okay! Stop worrying about me! I know how to take care of myself, thank you very much.” you tried to defend yourself, left hand was stretched out to stop her from coming nearer.
The brunette was silent for a bit, she knew how hot-headed you could be when about your problems it was. “But you're not alone anymore! You have me and if you are hurt I want to know so I can help you.”
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I don’t need your help, I can handle this!” you exclaimed making your way in the airship, interrupting a 'want some fruit pies?' coming from Bolin who only stood there afterwards watching you walk away to rest and turning back at Korra.
The whole team was on silence after the scene, three of them looking confused while Korra looked annoyed.
The rest of the trip back to Air Temple Island you were sleeping without interruptions, that was more than you ever did, your girlfriend took that as a sign of tiredness after the fight and you using the lightning to defend yourself.
Even if you were a pretty skilled lightning bender, it wasn't a bending you used on your daily basis so she didn't know if the use of that defense mechanism was tiring for you or not. In fact, she didn't know much about how you reacted to injuries or problems since you were so reserved with anyone about your weak spots, living in a conservative family where you were taught that any emotion besides courage was a weak and useless emotion that people could use against you.
And Korra knew about that when she met you in a tournament of pro–bending, there's where she fell in love with you.
The avatar tried so hard to break your shell so you could opened up to her and trust in her with everything you did or felt, no success at all it seemed.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Honey, we're here.” you heard the voice of your girlfriend, your body moved a bit with a groan of pain and your eyes opened lazy, feeling your eyelids still heavy. “Let's go, you can sleep better in your room.”
A bit slow, you were able to stand up from your sleeping spot. Your eyes were trying to focus on the brunette, blinking a lot when you saw blurry. “Where. . .?” you were able to say hoarsely.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Air temple island, you slept the whole night.” she said giggling a little bit, acting as if the fight before you slept didn't happen. She felt the nuisance in her, but thought maybe it was better to talk it once you were fully well rested.
You nodded and stood up. Black spots started to appear in your visual field and a sensation of dizziness invaded your body; when trying to take a step you stumbled and if Korra wasn't fast enough you could've hit the floor. “I'm okay. . . I. . .”
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Oh, no, you are definitely not okay.” she said with a mix of worry and anger in her voice. With so easiness (you really didn't had the strenght to fight her off) she found your cut and her eyes shot open when she saw how deep it was and how soaked your whole side was, your clothes being a tone darker than the fabric usually was. “What the fuck!? You're bleeding out! This is a big cut!”
Your words tangled in your tongue, not making a coherent sentence while trying to stay awake. The southerner was quick to take you in her arms bridal style and almost run inside the temple, asking for help.
Korra was in charge of healing you, once she got access to water her hands moved automatically over your injury. The first contact got a scream out of you and then, you relaxed.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “You'll be fine, it's okay, darling, you'll be fine.” she said to you, now that there was better light she could see how pale you got overnight. Her teeth got her own inferior lip, nervous about the whole thing. “I'm sorry, I should've insisted last night, you wouldn't have lost so much blood.”
A shush came from your mouth, smiling weak afterwards. “It's not your fault. . . I'm the one who's sorry, I shouldn't be so proud. . .” you frown raised a bit. “I know I should communicate more to you if I want this to work out.” the way you spoke hoarsely made Korra shake a bit.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “We'll work on that,” was her response. Once she made sure you were all good, she moved now to help you get all bandaged up to let the cut heal completely. “Together, as we have been doing all this time.” she murmured.
When she was done, she sat at the bed where you were lying and smiled fondly your way. Korra loved you. She loved you so dearly and it was reciprocate, the love both of you felt for the other was so strong to the point of wanting to change for the better, to be the better version of each other that could exist.
The avatar leaned on you to leave a sweet kiss on your lips, caressing your cheek with devotion, you tried not to smile with excitement at the thought of her love being yours and yours only.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “You know what this also means?” she said interrupting your thoughts after pulling away a little bit to speak to you on whispers, you made a sound of question. “You will have me all on you to take care of you and give you the best pampering sessions.”
You laugh with happiness at the thought of that, another groan left your lips followed by 'stop, you're hurting yourself!' that made you laugh with Korra again. She was careful to lie next to you and take you in arms to take a nap together. Neither of you were slow to get yourselves lost in dreams a minute later.

Does anyone else remember those highschool AU fics (or college AU fics written by someone who clearly doesn’t know how college works and just treats it like a highschool AU) where one of the characters would ultimately throw a party and play games like Never Have I Ever, Truth or Dare, Spin The Bottle, etc, and have two characters in a ship ultimately kiss or whatever?
Anyway, I want a OUAW fic like that, except there’s no AU, and it’s just the rest of the party desperately trying to get Kremy and Gideon to kiss (or, at the very least, admit they like each other). Like, just imagine Gricko suddenly wanting to play Never Have I Ever one night at camp, the others deciding to entertain him, and we just get a scene like this;
Gricko: right, so, never have I ever fallen in love with my best friend
Kremy and Gideon: *visibly sweating*
Or the Krew playing Spin The Bottle, and Kremy and Frost are having a sort of magic-off because it’s Kremy’s turn to spin and he’s desperately trying to make the bottle stop on anyone other than Gideon, meanwhile Frost is desperately trying to get the bottle to stop on Gideon because he is so sick and tired of the mutual pining between his two idiotic friends
Or playing Truth or Dare, and we get this scene;
Torbek: Mr Kremy, truth or dare?
Kremy: truth
Torbek: are you in love with Gideon?
Kremy, sweating: uh, dare
Torbek: Torbek dares Mr Kremy to kiss Gideon
Kremy, immediately jumping to his feet: WELL WOULD YOU LOOK AT THE TIME, I BEST BE GOING TO BED NOW
GUYS SERIOUSLY THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS!!! I just want a fic with all those cliche party games while Frost, Gricko, Torbek, and Twig are just desperately trying to get Kremy and Gideon to kiss, is that so much to ask?

I need to apologize in advance if I get their lore, characteristics and literally everything wrong. I haven't finished watching the whole series yet but I'm desperate to write something.
Inspired by @opheliajupiter99 on my main blog abt Kremy
Motivated by @pyrit on one particular ask I sent a while ago
Magic out of hand
Fandom: Once Upon a Witchlight (Legends of Avantris)
Pairing: Gideon Coal/Kremy Lecroux; side Grimmorning that could be perceive as platonic
Warning: Slight body horror, badly written due to not having a good grip on the lore (blame the author)
┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈
A daring escape, one might say. The krew had barely got out of trouble with their hides intact, but they were lucky that they did. Thank the Baron, Kremy did not have the energy to put up with more trouble today.
He wouldn't blame everything on anyone in the group, not tonight, not now. It was their night out, similar to the guy's night they once had when Frost was absent. This night, however, wouldn't be described as fun to Kremy's standard. Gideon had his fun, picking up girls with relative ease while he offered to pay for their drinks in hopes of getting someone home with him. Gricko drank his senses away while rambling about something that Frost seemed to find interesting.
Those specifics weren't the reason they got in trouble. Maybe. They all went about their usual business, drinking and laughing. Kremy had been dealing cards with a few good looking folks who looked like they had their pockets lined with money. Kremy needed that, the krew needed that. What with four extra mouths to feed, not counting Gideon and himself, Kremy had to do what he was best at if no one was going to step up.
The actual reason why they got in trouble in the first place was entirely Kremy's fault, but also partly Gideon's fault. He had way too much to drink that night, the rum tasted better than he initially thought after one sip. His tricks and hands were slower, the alcohol running his system made him sloppy, and one of the guys sitting there with him managed to catch a glimpse of him slipping to exchange the cards.
The next showdown between them weren't pretty.
The enormous man had pressed Kremy up against the wall with one hand, having him dangle his feet in air before placing them on the wall he was pressed up against. The tavern had gone quiet at the display, some still chattering but all eyes were trained on him. Gideon had been a fool not to hear the telltale noises of Kremy being in trouble before it was too late. Frost didn't drink anything the whole night, yet he still had trouble helping Kremy in the first place.
When Gideon finally realized, the man had already threw a punch to Kremy's face, kicking more than a breath out of him. Soon, he met solid ground in a bad way, with a foot on his chest, a knife at his throat with silent threats being thrown his way. Frost managed to keep the rest of his goons away from Kremy, but Gideon was late to start throwing punches at the man towering over the gator. By the time they left the tavern, Kremy was in pretty rough shape.
Gricko and Frost walked ahead, muttered apologize being tossed between them, Gricko occasionally looked up at Frost with guilty eyes. Gideon insisted on staying behind to help Kremy, though the gator doesn't feel like he should be grateful. Gideon was so busy with some floozy that somehow, he forgot that his job was to protect Kremy.
Even if Gricko didn't have much involvement with the situation, he still look pretty banged up with Gricko holding his bruised up arm, taking a sharp breath in every now and then.
"Don't worry, I'm sure we still got some bananyas back at camp." Gricko reassured everyone eventually, earning a small hum from Frost and silent nods from the rest.
Kremy had his arm around Gideon's shoulder, practically being manhandled by the genasi. Gideon had a few cuts here and there, but not as roughed up as Kremy at that moment. His suit was dirty too. Damnit.
Their camp soon came into sight and they all sighed in relief. The fire had died down to flickering embers, but it didn't take long for Gideon to start it back up. Kremy settled down with a painful grunt, holding his arm while mentally questioning if there was a cut on his neck. He definitely felt blood trickling there, but was still not sure.
Torbek sat in one of the many tents they had set up, with Hootsie snuggled up against him, half asleep. Kremy assumed the reason why the fire died is because Torbek was stuck with Hootsie on him so he just refused to move. Gricko came over and smiled down at the groggy Torbek, waving a hand over his face and offering to take Hootsie from him.
"Hold still Kremy." Frost said in that monotone of his that always made Kremy want to snap at him with how calm he sounded.
Frost barely shows emotions from time to time, but today he looked more worried. He made no movements to touch Kremy, his eyes scanning over his form in a way that made Kremy uncomfortable, like someone checking you out in public. The tabaxi hummed quietly and moved to the fire without another word.
Gricko fished out a few bananyas and tossed them at Gideon, who catched them clumsily. Torbek was offered one first by Gricko himself.
If he dies one day and it was Gideon's fault, may the Baron be good to him. Of course, he knew Gideon likes to run off a whole lot of times, but today was not acceptable. He straight up left him to die, one way or another, with some pretty girls buying him drinks for the night. Kremy didn't get the attraction that Gideon felt towards girls, he never did. And with their revealing clothes and breast, Gideon acts like he's tied to a string of one sided love.
"Kremy?" Gricko asked, shaking Kremy's arm gently as to not cause more damage. "You haven't taken a bananya yet." In Gricko's palm was the bananya that he didn't took. Maybe the last one even.
Kremy sighed and mutter a thank before taking it. Peeling it wasn't a problem, but his whole body ached and protested against any movements. Nevertheless, the rest already looked healed up besides him, so with some reluctance, he peeled it and took a slow, small bite.
Gideon was already helping Frost cook something even if he knew the big genasi couldn't cook very well. Gricko gone to tending Hootsie's feathers, comforting her since he was away for a while. Torbek stay silently in the tent, eyes casting around the area like paranoia was crawling on his back. Kremy pointedly ignored any glances or questions that might come from Gideon, giving only wordless nods when Gricko asked if he was alright.
Of course he wasn't alright, anyone with eyes would see that, even the ones who weren't trying. His suit is ruined, with dirty shoe prints on the fabric. His bowtie was in tatters, torn here and there for whatever reason he didn't bothered wondering. Gideon, of course it had to be Gideon's fault that he ended up like this. But, then again, he can't say it wasn't his fault as well, he had lots to drink so he has to be the one to blame as well.
His thoughts were cut short when he took another bite, not feeling healed up but rather more pained. His muscles still ached, his heart was still pounding in his ears, his scars and bruises didn't look any better. Another thought hit him, blaming Gricko for giving him a bananya that wasn't having the effects it usually does.
Another ache, then a sharp, stinging pain like a bullet being shot through his temple made Kremy groaned in agony.
This immediately attracted the group's attention, with Gideon being the first one to come to Kremy, reaching out and cradling him in his arms. Worry painted his face, his eyes searching but nothing came up. Gricko was half way off the ground, kneeling with one knee propped up, a hand suspended in the air that seemingly tried to reach out for the gator.
"Kremy, hey man, you alright?" Gideon asked, genuinely worried for him.
Kremy was just about to brush Gideon's worries off until another sharp pain presented itself near his ribcage, making him choked out a quiet groan.
Frost checked in with Gricko, cataloging everything that Gricko told him that he had given Kremy. Frost brows knitted together at the mention of the bananya, a hand coming up to hold his chin in a way that detectives usually do.
"Gricko, did you put the same amount in like you usually do?"

During one of the many Krew missions, Asami get hurt, knocked down by some goon that used his bending to throw her down:
Korra seamlessly swiveled around the earthbender's attempt to knock her off, hurling a goust of water at him. The water froze at his hands, shackled his feet so as he could not bend his way out, leaving him to be picked up by one of the metalbender officers.
The day was almost won. Almost. Because as soon as Korra let her guard down, the air froze with the terrible cracking of bones. The Avatar's heart sunk before she'd even glanced as to whom had fallen, the rest jumping into action at once.
Lying there, unmoving, Asami's chest did not even flicker.
"No..." Korra ran, skidded and dropped to her knees beside the other woman, her hands hanging around Asami's face as if the mere act of touching her would shatter her. "Asami, no. Come on, baby, wake up."
Silence fell upon them. Tears glistened behind Korra's eyes, her fingers twirling Spirit water above Asami's body. She could feel it all, the broken rib, the bruise on her skull, and the awkward bend of her wrist. It was the head that scared Korra the most, concentrating all of her effort there.
Minutes seemed like hours, the tears now freely falling to quiet pleading, and a touch upon the pristine skin. Behind them, Opal clung to Bolin, Mako looked on his face growing paler by the second, and Lin had ordered the place clear of the goons, barked to get Kya over here at once.
"Sami, baby...please...you promised, remember? You promised."
Korra buried her face against Asami's chest, clutching at her leather jacket. Then she felt it. The quiet thrumming of a heartbeat, the flicker of a chest, and finally, a gasp.
Asami's eyes sprung open, a pained moan curling from her lips. Her gaze unfocused, it took her a moment to see Korra smiling down on her, cheeks tainting her visage.
"I'm okay..." she croaked. "I'm okay..."
"You better be. I love you. I love you so much."
Despite the aches, Asami pulled Korra closer to her, arms wrapping around her as much as she could. "I love you, Korra. I'm not going anywhere."

Dutifully watching Uprooted so I can watch it live next week, but I've had to put a pause on OUaW, which sucks cuz the witchlight krew has wormed their way deep into my brain. Every moment my mind has rest, it's immediately taken over by witchlight krew. They make me so happy, this is honestly the happiest anything has ever made me and the deepest anything has wormed into my brain. I love these stupid idiots so much.
Also, was talking about Frost to a coworker today and she immediately recognized LoA and started talking to me about Bitsy and we both agreed Bitsy is an amazing character. I can't tell you how fun she is, we all know. I love her. Can't wait to watch the oneshots and see more of her.

Gid isn't stupid, we all know this.
When he says he doesn't know something it's generally because of one of these reasons: He
actually doesnt know something
He's pretending not to know something to get a reaction
Actually not knowing something but over exaggerating his ignorance to make people think he actually DOES know something and is pretending to be stupid for the bit
knowing something and being rly smart but keeping his mouth shut because he doesn't wanna be looked at as a nerd
Knowing something but keeping his mouth shut because it's easier to be seen as the lovable idiot (also a trauma response)
And finally:
Knowing something but he likes it when Kremy gets all haughty and corrects him, so he's provoking him
Kremy can only tell about 50% of the time AT BEST which one it is
This is a true fact.
Ahh it's okay Kremy, Gideon just loves making reading him extremely hard.
Gideon is very smart, I am actually willing to fight anyone on this (genuinely if you think learning mechanical engineering from nothing and learning FEY TECH isn't smart you may need to reconsider your biases).
He likes to fuck with the rest of the Krew a lot (I don't mean that way but also I guess that's true too). He and Gricko really keep the vibe light, or try to at least. And well, one of the best ways to lighten the mood oddly enough is getting a rise out of the others. If they are irritated, or confused or haughty well they aren't *sad*. It's also, frankly, just rather amusing.
But he also doesn't wanna be the nerd of the group. He likes punching things and it's what he's good at. He doesn't wanna wax philosophical, he just knows shit, okay? And, frankly, he knows too much about magitech engineering for comfort.
Defaulting to "big, strong, loveable idiot" is to put on a mask, not dissimilar to Kremy in all honesty. He's an unbreakable wall, both in physical strength and mental reliance. Gideon Coal doesn't need to know anything, he doesn't want to know anything, he is incapable of knowing anything. All he thinks about is his friends, fighting, and fucking. Everything just bounces off him, even traumatic things. And he's okay, because he's not thinking about it, he doesn't think. He's happy all the time unless he's over-the-top angry. Leave the thinking and worrying and grief and trauma to the nerds. There is nothing wrong with Gideon Coal.

Do you think if Aiwei had been brought back to Suyin, she would forgive him? I mean surely, I hardly doubt any of Suyin’s kids would be happy to have Aiwei back after his betrayal — especially Opal, the twins, and maybe even Huan.
Though do you think Suyin could even forgive him?
I'd say maybe. I'm sure she was furious at him, but I think moreover, she was devastated.
Tumblr media
Suyin is a very open person, due to her childhood which seemed to lack affection from her family. Which is what I think leads to her quickly bonding and getting attached to others.
I think that part of the reason she wanted Korra and the Krew to bring Aiwei back was because she wanted to make him explain himself (and maybe torture him a little). I think it would depend on what his story was and if he genuinely regretted betraying them buy we don't know shit about him.
Nevertheless, Suyin has proved herself to be an incredibly forgiving person. She values her precieved family too much to fully reject them. This is why I believe she was so quick to forgive Baatar Jr and later Kuvira.
Tumblr media
I don't think the kids would be willing to forgive him, at least not immediately. Though depending on when this is happening Baatar Jr has no legs to stand on so he might. I always headcanonned that Aiwei and Kuvira's relationship was kinda like a school therapist and a belligerent teen, so I don't think Kuvira would be too willing to forgive him.
Huan is someone I theorise was incredibly close to Aiwei, and I think he would've been very hurt by Aiwei's betrayal, so it would take a lot of coaxing. I think he'd make a lot of passive aggresive art like "oh don't mind this it's my newest piece it's caller 'The agony of betrayal'" while making direct eye contact. I think he'd just kinda hide in his room he's emo like that.
Tumblr media
Opal would, similarly, feel betrayed, especially after what the Red Lotus did to her and the other airbenders. Though, one of my headcanons is that one the reasons Zaheer took Aiwei out was that he knew Aiwei was close to Opal and that Aiwei would not be willing to endanger her. So I think this would also affect Aiwei's forgiveness by Opal.
Tumblr media
The twins are, from what I can infer, very protective of Suyin, Opal and the rest of the family, so I can't see them forgiving Aiwei that easily. I think they'd be pretty alert and hostile with him, but not as much as with Baatar Jr and Kuvira post B4.
Though I could also see Wing being the one to get comfortable around Aiwei the quickest out of the siblings. Once he asserts that Aiwei is not a threat, I can see him loosening up more, especially if Aiwei would try to make amends and reach out. Wing seems more social, open and laid back, so I can see him being very hostile after Aiwei returns but also mellowing out later. He's like a puppy he barks super loud at first but you can win him over real quick. I think Wei would probably be similar to Huan- keep to himself but also be very angry. I can also see Wei being the most actively weary of Aiwei and making sure Aiwei is actually not planning something again.

I have so many Thoughts TM about episodes 41/42 of Witchlight, but what I really want to hyperfocus in on is a smaller Gideon moment that just shattered my heart into a million pieces.
And that is in episode 42, after they are found by Bavlorna, and the rest of the krew leaves the closet/storage room that they were fighting the shadow in, and Gideon stays behind. And he is cradling Twigs now marionette body in his arms, sitting on the floor, flames licking up his back as he is desperately trying to regain/maintain any sense of composure.
That scene in particular fucked me up in the best way possible. Because seeing a character that is quick to anger, who has a short fuse, who does not normally restrain themselves because for good chunk of their life they were imprisoned and enslaved and they never want to feel that way again. To see THAT character do their best to hold themselves back is beautiful and heart breaking. It shows the level of care that Gideon has for the rest of the party, as well as the respect he has for Twig, even in death. Because while it is never stated outright, I do believe it is implied that Gideon doesn't go through with attacking and attempting to kill Bavlorna becasue he knows that Twig would not what him or the others to die for her. All she wanted to do was to help and protect her new family, and Gideon potentially getting himself and the others killed in a fit of rage is the last thing she would have wanted
instead we get Gideon quietly seething with rage, barely holding it together, but ultimately stopping himself from outright violence against Bavlorna. He still isn't completely playing nice, that moment with him turning the teacup widdershins being a good example. (and GOD did that moment give me chills. Just. The quiet, deliberate, threatening nature of it was wonderfully played out). He refuses any food or drink from Bavlorna (despite Mace knowing above table that the food offered would give an instant long rest if eaten) and only makes that deal with her to bring Twig back because he so clearly feels guilty over her death, viewing himself as being responsible (as least in part) for her wellbeing on her first adventure. And if he can make it right, if he can make it up to her by bringing her back, even if it means making a deal with a hag that he would much rather seen burned alive, then he'll do it. Because Twig is worth him setting aside what we wants, is worth setting tamping down his immediate gut reaction to violence.
