♤ Ship ramble ♤

There are many reasons why Allen and Deuce are perfect for each other (list), but a fair share of said reasons are rooted in or can be traced back to one massive, highly important core point: these two have extremely similar experiences in a reversed order.

Said experiences shaped their personalities, goals, insecurities and "masks" — all of which are highly important factors for Deuce and Allen's relationship development.

So today, I'll be talking about how their backstories influence Allen and Deuce's relationship.

Something I noticed is that if Spade of Storms weren't dating, they'd pretty much end up experiencing at least parts of each other's backstory... and end up in a super miserable state.

Allen is a former honor student who overworked himself to the point of burning out, all because he was a people pleaser and his stellar grades still weren't enough for his teachers who expected nothing but the absolute best from him. Additionally, he had to suppress his true self and interests because he was expected to be a model student in every single way, and anger was something only "bad" kids felt.

Sounds familiar? Deuce is unknowingly on the path to end up in the same situation, except in his case, the fact that he can't seem to achieve better grades no matter what causes him even more distress. If he actually ended up becoming a honor student, Deuce would experience a ton of additional pressure, not to mention that he's already struggling to hide the delinquent tendencies that are a fundamental part of his true personality... Sure, "honor student" sounds like a nice and admirable title to have — but the reality behind it is cruel, and Deuce isn't aware of that yet.

Which is why I gave him Allen.

A large part of Allen's trauma is rooted in his past as a honor student and the crushing expectations people (including himself) threw at him, and he desperately wants Deuce to watch out for himself and approach his goal of becoming a honor student carefully and logically rather than bite off more than he can chew and end up drowning in even more pressure, self-suppression and insecurities. Allen doesn't want Deuce to experience all the negative sides of being a honor student and instead supports the Heartslabyul student's goals by working towards them with a pace appropriate for Deuce, helping him study through actually unique methods specifically tailored for Deuce, and — most importantly — giving Deuce a safe and healthy environment where he can be his 100% authentic self and learn how to properly get his impulsiveness under control at the same time.

And the other way around? How does Deuce's past help Allen?

Deuce quit being a delinquent because it not only disappointed his mom, but also caused him a lot of trouble and massively stained his reputation. While Allen can handle his own delinquent tendencies just fine on the outside, his anger is actually much worse than Deuce's, not to mention that he has incredibly violent fantasies about the people he can't stand...

So far, Allen hasn't done anything bad. But Deuce, despite being a delinquent at heart himself, is able to calmly remind Allen to not do anything he might end up regretting or that might stain his reputation, especially since this is a major fear of Allen's. Deuce's worries and loving way manage to keep Allen in check, no matter how strong the Ramshackle student's hatred for society grows.

Now, HOW exactly are they able to help each other grow? WHY did they form intimate levels of trust to begin with? And especially, why can Allen actually efficiently help Deuce in the first place when nobody else can?

Nahyuta is the most OVERHATED character in SoJ

"He's constantly repeating the Holy Mother stuff" yes, because a character's speech should be recognizable to some extent, especially if they are an important character. Religion is also a very important part of Khura'in and its legal system, too, of course he will rely on the Holy Mother a lot. Also, many characters have repetitive speech (Franziska is an amazing character yet uses the word "fool" a lot)

"Ema says he's a good person outside of Court but he isn't" We have BARELY seen him outside of Court, but you don't have to in order to know he is a good person. He suffered in silence so Rayfa wouldn't have the same fate as he did, gave a witness a name despite having no need to, and didn't confiscate Dhurke's badge when interrogating him in hopes that he'd save him.

"He's annoying and extremely ruthless" Because his perception of defense attorneys was completely warped. When you live in a place where they're hated, you'll be bound to do that, too. Besides, he never believed that the person he was prosecuting was innocent and just wanted to give the victim their last rites. He is shown praying for the fallen, having respect toward them.

Not to mention Khura'ins legal systems rely on Rayfa. Outside of Khura'in, naturally he is going to believe the accused is guilty and will do his best to make them pay for their crime.

"He was rude to Athena" Because she is young and, again, he does not like defense attorneys. He at least saw her as a worthy adversary after seeing her strengths.

"He kept throwing beads at people" As if the other prosecutors haven't done WORSE? Throwing coffee, whipping people...

"If his rude persona was an act, why was he mean when outside of Khura'in?" Okay, one, maybe he didn't want to break the persona. It'd be weird if he were mostly ruthless and suddenly switch personalities. If he wants to help Rayfa, he can't show something is going on at home. And if that won't help; maybe he's just a bitch???? He has every right to be. So many other characters are flat out mean. Also; he's in only ONE GAME so far. He still has a lot of his personality to develop.

"His writing sucks, he's basically a second Edgeworth" I agree some parts of his character are not as good as I wish they'd be, but he and Edgeworth are quite different. Even if the character arcs mimic each other, it isn't as if it hasn't been done before. Also, many just refuse to see Nahyuta past the stuck-up religious guy perspective. It's so interesting to wonder how his relationship with religion, rebellion, obedience, etc. would be before, during and post canon.

"He's the worst prosecutor of the series" Because he wasn't easy to beat? He was described to go from place to place, solving difficult cases. Of course he's not going to give up easy and will be a challenge to face

I admit his writing is not the best and could have been better. His redemption arc was a bit short and I think it could have been more interesting if he actually believed in Ga'ran, but Nahyuta is being treated as if he killed everyone's families. Seriously, people seem to forget so often he did so much for Rayfa, even working under someone he didn't believe in.

I have a question for you! I have noticed in your writings that Twilight and Yor begin a romantic relationship after their secrets are revealed. Are you opposed to any romance between them before they find out? I assume if so, it’s because it’s morally questionable, though a lot of fans find romance before compelling as it raises the stakes considerably. I’m not suggesting one is right and the other is wrong, I’m just interested in your take on this! I love your writing! Thank you! 😊

Oh boy! Thank you for this ask — it's a big question but also I do have thoughts XD Sorry it's taken me a few days to get my ducks in a row!

I want to start, though, by emphasising that my thoughts and preferences here are exclusive to Spy x Family as a canon enterprise; they don't pertain to fanworks or other fan theories, I'm not out to yuck anyone's yum ✌️ ditto for even my own writing! You're right that I don't really have an interest in exploring that dynamic but I reserve the right to change my mind ;)!

Right, so. There's lots of things I love about SxF, but one of the things that interested me early and keeps me engaged is that it operates under an interesting and complex morality. Spy work and contract killing are obviously an ethical minefield, and in the real world, generally to the bad. Within the world of SxF, Endo takes pains to write Twilight and Yor both firmly on the morally right side, even if Twilight’s tactics or Yor’s actions in a vacuum are frequently questionable. With Twilight especially it seems Twilight is currently (resisting) working through the impact and ethical implication of his actions on Anya. When it comes to Yor, I expect that’s where we’ll see him wrestle with similar questions through a romance lens. I think it was quite deliberate and important that Twilight specifically articulated that he’d been wondering if Yor had previous romantic relationships, and that it was now confirmed she hadn’t. As far as I can remember, it’s the only time he’s had that sort of reflection on Yor's life before the Forgers; I mention it because it mirrors times he’s reflected explicitly on Anya’s history and trauma and her needs as a child, with implication that his actions and motivations for adopting her could/probably will hurt her. I hazard that his observation about Yor will be similarly indicative of an arc down the line.

When it comes to canon, if the Yor x Twilight romance were to firm up while Yor still believes Twilight is Loid, I admit there’s a high chance I’d nope out. I want to emphasize firm up though… I tend to think Yor already has feelings for Loid (Twilight?) whether she’s fully aware of them or would necessarily articulate them as romantic (and I think this is being really interestingly conveyed and explored through her current feelings about kissing, though I may differ with some on how I think that may shake out). I also think there’s a… less high but not impossible chance that Twilight is aware he has or is developing feelings for Yor. I’ve argued before that he knows he has formed/is forming an attachment to her and that he knows he trusts her. I don’t think it’s too far from there to romantic feelings for Twilight: after all, attachment and trust (intimacy) are not things he's had in a long, long time. And given his current pseudo-short temper and general malaise comes out most with Anya, with Yor he’s been notably softer and more receptive. In my view, this is partially because so far he hasn't really done much that would really hurt Yor and nor has she done anything that would really hurt Twilight. So far, Twilight and Yor are on a fairly even footing.

This is a very long way of saying that I trend toward thinking we’ve got at least a few toes into the romance already.

The reasons I’d be a squicked by the firming up of the romance, pre-reveal, are related to its being morally questionable as you pointed out (I'll talk a bit more about that in a moment.) But it's also because I think it would undermine character arcs and dominant themes.

Twilight’s arc involves finding and forging a new pack, a new family. Somewhere safe and loving that he’s been denied essentially for his whole life (I don’t dispute that his mother loved him deeply and did her best to protect him: living with an abuser and then with her under war was never going to actually be or feel safe). A big part of this safety and love for Twilight is about being accepted, warts and all. Twilight started lying because he wasn’t accepted by his father as he was. There’s a fair bit to work through by way of accepting Twilight’s warts already — I think Yor will be fairly understanding as things currently stand, and that’s part of why they’re a good match. Their moral compasses, their sacrifices, how they see the world and how they want to try and make it better, align and/or resonate in foundational ways. However, given their current standing, pursuing deeper intimacy of a romantic/sexual relationship with Yor before reveals, I think would take it past the line. And particularly when considering Yor’s character arc.

Yor’s arc is also around finding love and security, but centred less around acceptance (although that obviously also explicitly features!) and more around self-worth and understanding her value. If the romance were to firm up pre-reveal, the false pretences are… I mean, to me, they lob a Molotov cocktail into that theme of self-worth and being valued, as she really would just be being used: the intimacy could never be real because Twilight is not Loid Forger. To expand a bit on an earlier point, perhaps ironically, Yor’s relationship with Loid is mostly on the up-and-up: they both know any marital connection they demonstrate is fake. They may be (are) friends, and also they’re under no illusions that it’s something of a tenuous friendship (at least for now). They co-parent Anya but are clear that this co-parenting comes with clear lines around and between their relationship otherwise. I want to tread mindfully here, because I also really like and appreciate aroace interpretations of Yor and Twilight and their relationship: I think this discussion around firming up their romance actually also holds true in the case of attempting to substantially deepen their platonic bond, pre-reveal. In the same ways, Twilight needing acceptance and Yor learning self-worth would be severely undermined by a pre-reveal apparent and false deepening of their commitment to one another.

On the point of it being morally questionable generally, yeah it is. I mean, look, it's fiction and they aren't real people who can be hurt by those actions. So in principle, Endo can write what story he wants, I wouldn't think it reflected poorly on him or anything like that. I just don't really want to read a story that goes to that place; it’s a squick. I'm sure this has been discussed before in fandom, but my read on the moral dubiety centres around the idea that it isn’t possible to actively choose or meaningfully consent to emotional or physical intimacy when one person is lying about who they are (and in this case, they're both lying about who they are... Although Twilight to a greater extent). This does tie back into SxF themes as well, as choice and consent are also… maybe not big themes of SxF exactly, but active choice and informed consent are things which have come up more than once (I have my thoughts as to why: for a character whose choices drive so much of the narrative, Twilight is actually also a character who’s shown to have little actual choice or control over much of his own life. Considering his motivations for a world where children don’t cry, imo valuing active choice and meaningful consent are important factors required for that world. And I also actually suspect the theme of choice will become more important the more we learn about Donovan, and his role as foil for Twilight.)

Also, honestly for me, it would be too close to a common trope in a lot of popular western fiction/media that I don’t like: a woman being taken advantage of by a man in some way, shape or form, and then through the magic of her non-specific womanness, forgiving him his gross transgressions under the thinnest of pretences. Particularly as Endo has already taken pains to sidestep that as a foundation of their arrangement. To be fair, I wouldn't be surprised that were Endo to take the pre-reveal romance path, it would be a deeper interpretation of that trope, but as with other sexist tropes utilised in pop fiction/media, I have to ask why the choice couldn’t have been for a more interesting path, rather than retreading that one. And particularly given everything he's established for Twilight and Yor: it goes against much of what Twilight stands for — and indeed goes against much of what he meaningfully brings in his current relationship with Yor, that of encouraging her, supporting her, and shoring up her thoughts, opinions and self-image, particularly when she voices upset or doubt about them. It also goes against much of what Yor stands for: while the power imbalance would lie firmly with Twilight, it remains true that Yor’s lies in an apparently deepening intimacy would also undermine the safety and security she ostensibly creates for Twilight. She also so obviously hates lying, the prospect of her keeping her secret into what she believed was a real relationship would wreck her. Doubly so, given the weight Yor puts on Loid's acknowledgement of who she is and what she believes: something she hangs her self-worth on, a recognition of her value. And I'd argue here that it would actually, conversely, be impossible for Loid Forger to acknowledge or accept Yor's truth: that's only something Twilight can do.

And so I guess there’s also just the bare fact following from the above that I think a pre-reveal firming up of their relationship is the less interesting choice for what is a major franchise that has otherwise done innovative things. Another reason I love SxF is that it subverts tropes and complicates cliches. One of which includes communication: for a pair who have crossed lines as a foundation of their relationship, Yor and Twilight actually do a lot of communicating. That’s a subversion of many heterosexual romantic tropes and norms, at least in a Western context, and, to put it sort of flippantly, it would bum me out if it failed at the final hurdle.

I just want to emphasise one more time, my opinions and preferences here are strictly related to Spy x Family in an official canon capacity, and nothing to do with fanworks or fan theories or what fans want to explore in whatever fashion. Part of my feelings here are also honestly because of the tone and pacing of SxF. I think it entirely possible to do interesting things with those tropes and actually think Endo is the type of writer I would trust to do so. But the way SxF is written by way of tone, pacing, narrative priorities and audience demand, I don't think even Endo would be able to do them within SxF in ways that wouldn't squick me out and make me lose love for Twilight, specifically, pretty entirely. I'd rather he just didn't 😂

Tl;dr: in canon exclusively I’m not into a firming up of their romantic relationship pre-reveal! Their situation is complicated enough as it is; give these goobers the love they want and can share with one another, kindly and gently, when the world has been neither kind nor gentle with them. In my view, it’s already primed in their character and thematic arcs 🫶

Survive the storm, then smooth sailing! Jinx inherently struggles with forming real, true relationships. A Taurus is genuinely the perfect match for her-- to supply the stability and empathy Jinx so deeply desires. At first, Jinx will self-sabotage, testing her Taurus just to see how far they can be pushed before they jump ship. No one would fault the Taurus for leaving-- but a real stubborn bull can bring her home.

Collaborators... And more. Ekko's bond with a Libra is precious. It reminds him of his youth, and makes him feel free. His Libra works with him at his side, to reach common goals. You seldom fight (Dear Libra, your habit of leaving minor issues unspoken can poison Ekko rotten), and often fill nights with long-winded conversations about your ideas and beliefs.

Libra, though, is very committed. Ekko is not ready to settle down, and while that doesn't mean he plans on screwing around, he simply isn't ready to commit to a forever partner. This can dishearten his infatuated Libra, and may even be the final unspoken disagreement that ends their relationship.

However, Ekko and Virgos both share a similar issue-- Unending aspiration. Ekko's priorities can make things inconsistent, while Virgos tend to prioritize their goals in a way that leads to comfortable change and strict ritual. Ekko can't promise those rituals will always be around, and it poses a serious risk for the both of them.

Angry Armin yelling at Annie would make her flinch, I believe.

See this is a girl whose method of surviving next to her dad was by withdrawing into herself, developing a cold and aloof exterior to protect herself from other people as a whole. She went on living like this, used very much to it, for all the years and years until Armin finally broke through a bit. By the time she'd softened to him to the extent of having a special soft spot for him, I like to think she'd subconsciously learned to hope that he'd always treat her with kindness despite what ended up happening (crystal. even then he was kind to her... as much as his confusion allowed him to be, anyway).

Because that's who Armin always was, right? Soft-spoken, kind, level-headed, empathetic, friendly... 'not one to lose his temper', much less have a violent one in the first place.

At least, it's really easy to fall into this kind of expectation.

Post-rumbling, Annie seeking out Armin and their relationship growing from there on out, it's highly possible that Annie begins to open up more readily than expected, even adopting a more "hopeful" way of thinking, and inevitably, getting used to the softness and kindness that Armin treats her with.

So very different from her father, right?

But Armin is not above losing his temper, we've already seen (that S4 scene with Mikasa). Pushed to the very end of his tether, mentally, it's really possible he bursts, even without meaning to, and if Annie's at the receiving end of that outburst... can you imagine the damage it would deal both of them?

She would flinch.

And then, withdraw, like you said.

Because in the end, maybe getting yelled at is all she's worth receiving. Anger and violence, and if the latter hasn't yet been dealt, then it will come soon, surely. A natural consequence of anger; her skin knows to expect it.

And Armin... he's not good enough for her, is he? He wanted to treat her differently, so very gently, try his best to give Annie all the love she's never received to make up for lost time, but... in the end, he lost his temper instead. That's all he did, and now he has to watch her become quiet with her eyes dull and unresponsive when he calls her name.

The last of my Binderary books, #10 and #11, are here! This is The Mathematical Improbability of Reaching the Stars by cassieoh and D20Owlbear and it is another very long fic that I had to split into two volumes. It's a wonderful Good Omens human!AU with believable relationship development and very likeable OCs. I like to go into summaries at this point in my binding posts but I have trouble pinpointing the reason I like this one so much. It's just compelling and I like spending time with these characters. It reads like an original story and yet it's undeniably a GO fic. I don't know how else to phrase it.

I had a major disappointment with the bind, though. As you can no doubt see in the photos above, there was major glue leakage when I did the htv and it ruined my book cloth. That's a homemade paper-backed cloth and it's this wonderful textured green fabric (I think it's polyester but it's shiny and lightweight) but it did not like that silver foil htv At All. Really sad that it turned out like that. The silver leaves were also an absolute nightmare to weed. So many teeny tiny pieces, and I had to do four of them. I stand by the design, it's very pretty and I still think it fits the book, but I have got to find another option for putting titles on homemade cloth. I've done five of them now and I have this issue every time.

You can see the fabric texture really well on the backs, and there's no glue issue there either. Part of me wishes I'd left the front covers blank like the backs. I love how the spines turned out; that's black faux leather and it always takes htv like a champ. I like how I did the titles here too. I really wanted them on the spines but it's such a long title that I'd have had to scrunch it down really small to make it fit. Weeding tiny text is always a pain and it limits the fonts you can use and still be legible, but splitting it up like this? Love it. Looks so good on my shelf.

Silver foiled edges! I had trouble getting the foil to stick, like always, but I ended up sort of layering it over the unstuck parts and got this kind of patchy look that I love. Handmade double core endbands, and this is one of the most complex patterns I've done in endbands so far. I love them and think they came out really beautiful.

The endpapers are this beautiful chiyogami leaf pattern. I bought these for this fic before I'd even started typesetting it because I knew they'd be perfect. Chiyogami is my favorite thing to use for endpapers lately, I love it so much.

I went really simple on the typeset here. It's a contemporary story, as opposed to a lot of the historical and fantastical ones I tend to bind, and I thought the sleek typeset suited it. I'm not as in love with the title page as I could be but I do like it. It's about the text, not the flourishes, once you get into the meat of the story.

One fun typesetting thing I was able to do with this one happened in the headers and footers. Usually I do page numbers at the bottom, author's name on the top left and title on the top right, but the combination of two authors and a really long title meant the headers got really unwieldy. They were too long and bled into the body text. So I split them up like this, and I love it! Looks so sleek. I've been looking for an excuse to do it like this again on other typesets but it hasn't fit anything yet.

And that's that! I asked for author permission for these but never heard back, so I hope they're both ok with what I did. I'm overall pleased with the results (and in love with parts of it) and I know what I still need to work on.

This is the last of my Binderary books! 11 is too many! I'm never doing that many books in a month again! Now I've got everything posted I feel like I can move on to new projects, though it may be a bit before I have any new books to post. I've got a format experiment in mind.

Robbie Reyes relationship with Love and Sex part 2: what happened with Lisa.

A Road to Recovery headcanons dump.

Okay, so maybe you have noticed (or not) that Lisa hasn't been mentioned (yet). He would have at the very least thought about her if they were still together, so you can guess that they are not a thing at the moment. But were they a thing in the past? Yup.

Then why are they not together? I've seen some takes that state that Robbie wasn't actually that into her or that he didn't actually like her and the reason they got together was compulsory heterosexuality but I personally don't like that interpretation. Robbie is straightforward enough that he would just not put up with someone he did not like in his space and also he wouldn't just let anybody into his house and into his life near Gabe if they weren't important to him.

I prefer to think that he did like her and had feelings for her, but even if Lisa tries to reconnect after witnessing that episode between Robbie and Gabe, the relationship ultimately failed because they had way too many things against them.

For starters, Eli would try to ruin things between them in any way that he can. Eli is an abuser, and just like every abuser, he prefers his victim to be isolated because if Robbie is more vulnerable, Eli can have more control over him.

I mentioned here that I don't think it's too farfetched to assume that Robbie would develop some sort of fear of intimacy. I don't think he'd be able to discuss that without disclosing what's going on with Eli first, which is not something I see voluntarily doing.

Also it would be the fact that I think that Robbie would consider himself too dangerous for anyone to be in a relationship with him and would try to pull her apart.

So there would be a lot of issues to begin with, but even if they do love each other and somehow managed to navigate all these problems, I think the relationship would ultimately fail because of the secrets that Robbie keeps between them.

Here is the thing: Robbie has killed a guy and under the promise he made to Eli, he will have to kill again. That makes him a murderer and that's a burden that he will have to carry his whole life. I don't think he would want to make anybody else to carry his secret. He wouldn't want to put that weight in their shoulders. Also, as far as I know, if you know that someone is a murderer and you don't report them, that makes you an accomplice, so he'd be putting anyone who knows about his secret in (even more) danger if he ever had to face legal repercussions.

The way I see it, you can't have a solid base for a relationship without trust and honesty. I think at some point Lisa would start suspecting that there are things that he's not telling her and it would become a breaking point. If she gets too close to putting the pieces of the puzzle together, I see him being able of dumping her in the spot in order to protect her, just so his shit doesn't end up affecting her too. What she doesn't know can't hurt her etc. So yeah, I think that one way or another either she gets tired of his secrets and the excuses he would need to make up to hide his activities as ghost rider or he ends up pushing her away in order to protect her.

It's a case of right person, wrong timing, and it hurts him. It hurts him a lot.

I'm not saying that I think they could never work, I'm just saying that in the Road to Recovery universe, they didn't, and it wasn't for a lack of love.

Also Road to Recovery is, unsurprisingly, a story about trauma recovery and I think that if Lisa was in his life, he'd already be in a much better mental state and there wouldn't be that much of a story to be told.

Really not looking to start ship wars in your asks so please don’t take this a certain way or anything, you are one of the only helaemond friendly team green blogs I know! I like all the Greencest ships but am particular to helaemond and it’s been so weird to see how TG fandom has turned on these shippers. I get having problems with how Aemond has been written this season, but even before season 2 came out people were making fun of them, there’s a whole dumb Helaemond vs Helaegon ship argument that in all honesty seems fairly one sided, and now it’s a popular discourse about how hoping they (helaemond) have some scenes together in what remains of the 3 episodes we have left 😭 is treating her character poorly. Nevermind there is also no chance for us to explore her and Aegon meaningful either (I actually loved their first scene this season but anyway it is clear that is not happening) and we all want to see more of her? I don’t know it’s all very frustrating, I get people have preferences for one ship over another, it just comes across so mean spirited when we all obviously like the same characters. I also don’t remember it being this way for a very long time, I was lurking in season 1 and over hiatus. This is all so recent 🥲

It's all right, anon, I don't mind the occasional ship discourse. It's been a while, hasn't it? :)) I haven't been on twitter in ages, but is it really that different now than it's been during the hiatus? Because I remember people being very anti-helaemond all the time, I don't even think there was a time where this ship wasn't being called into question over every little thing. Not to mention generally nasty behaviour towards shippers.

It's no secret I've been unimpressed with Aemond's development this season. I am still looking forward to the Phia-Ewan scenes, especially since they revealed they were playing them with a helaemond twist in mind, even though it will remain subtext. But the compounding problem is that they haven't done anything with Helaena this season either. Her big event was minimized as much as possible and her descent into madness wasn't even removed because they wanted her to be less incapacitated. They're not giving her anything to do now post-B&C either! She is simply sitting in rooms or walking down corridors, not having much of an opinion on anything and completely uninvolved in the lives of her family or in the conflict. She is being written without much agency at all: she is the queen, yet she doesn't even seek out anyone or initiate a conversation by herself - everything simply happens to her.

The helaemond vs helaegon argument remains dumb, because they're both equally underdeveloped on screen (the first is subtext, the second is..... criminally absent). Basically the pot calling the kettle black. In both ships and, unfortunately, in all her relationships seemingly, Helaena is just a projection for the other person to react to. She makes Alicent feel sad, Aegon feel awkward and Aemond covetous. Will we ever get a scene that's about Helaena? Forget the Bechdel test, we'll have to resort to the Helaena Targaryen test

So, in that regard, IDEK what kind of interaction she could possibly have with Aemond at this point. Will her story yet again be subordinated to her interlocutor? I hope I'm wrong, but at this point, I expect the scenes between them will actually end up being about Aemond and his characterisation. Will he be the one who figures out her gift of prophecy while she simply exists alongside him in a room? Remember that she never even received one scene next to Dreamfyre - but Aemond did!

It's just so unbalanced and it goes beyond any shipping wars - Helaena doesn't have an arc. She never received one in the first place. In the last episode, she acted the same way she did in S01E08. There's no emotional progression to her character: so far, she's been threatened by Meleys, become queen, had one child brutally murdered in front of her, witnessed her mother's affair and now her brother lies on his deathbed, with an incapacitated dragon, effectively leaving them with only Vhagar operational in a full-blown war. She was a little sad and now she's over it and back to her baseline melancholia. Come on.

It's not the concept of helaemond that's treating her character poorly. It's the fact that they have no idea what to do with her apart from having her glide throughout the castle like a ghost.

-Quirkless? Not that much of a shocker he'd fall for you. The boss being in a relationship? THAT is the shocker everyone hasn't managed to let go of just yet. In fact, most of his inner circle thinks he's holding you hostage while the other half wonders how you could've ever fallen for someone as rough as Overhaul in the first place. Did he even know how to date someone? Overhaul doing gentleman shit? Overhaul possibly kissing you one day or holding hands? Overhaul being in the same vicinity as someone else for longer than a few hours? There was a slew of gossiping he couldn't really shut down (or intimidate out of the men) for a very long time. He was trying to at least get it out of control before bringing you around to meet everyone for the first time.

-He took the time you introduce you considering he would have some of the members of the Hassaikai be your personal bodyguards or escorts when he couldn't join you out. Aside from this, he didn't really want you interacting with anyone else than himself. You were headstrong (or stubborn as he'd put it) and wanted on your own to develop meaningful relationships with his main group. Where he saw workers, you saw his friends despite him never calling them that. You wanted to be as important to them as he was. None of the men really complained since you were a breath of fresh air compared to Kai. With the help of Pops preventing Kai from killing the guys, you were able to try and get to know each of them.

-Hojo thought of you as a little sibling almost, no matter what your age is. You could literally be older than him and he'd still try to treat you like a little sister/brother/sibling. It was odd, but you didn't seem to mind how careful he was or protective nonetheless. Setsuno was a lot more careful with you since he didn't want to end up like mince meat. Had you not pushed hard for him to come out of his shell, you never would've learned all the wonderful parts of his personality aside from being a legitimate gang member. Tabe was more or less clingy to your kindness. This is especially true if you end up trying to greet him with something to eat. He adores you now.

-Rappa was actually pretty taken with you from the moment he met you. Someone brave enough to go against Overjerk's rules and do what they wanted regardless of the outcome? Oh yeah, he thinks that's fucking awesome of you. Tengai is more careful about guarding your feelings and still doesn't greet you by your first name even to this day. He also spends a lot of time scolding Rappa when he's around you since he's worried the big lug will offend you somehow.

-Nemoto has been and always will be the absolute most respectful with you. He greets you with the utmost proper manners and tries to make sure you have everything you might ever need whenever he's on duty for you. You've been trying for a long time to break down his walls and get him to chill out more but I doubt that'll happen anytime soon. Deidoro fucking loves you and loves even more the fact that he can be as crazy around you as he wants to be...well, as long as Nemoto isn't there to stop him from having that fun. You don't mind it. The man is a hoot!

-Chrono has become somewhat of a close friend to you. He knows when to let his guard down and relax ever now and then. Don't get me wrong, he still respects Overhaul very much as both a friend and a leader! It's just that when he's out with you, he's not gonna say no to putting a dollar in a prize machine and trying to win an IPAD with you. If you could chose anyone to hang out with for a day, it usually ends up being Chrono. It makes sense that Kai has gotten jealous a time or two of you relationship together. Mimic on the other hand...he doesn't worry as much with you two being together. In fact, your first impression of Mimic was that someone must've been pulling a prank on you. There's no way this beanie baby can turn into a full grown man on command. Mimic thought you weren't real when he met you too either. "How much did the boss pay for you to pretend to be his partner?"

-Katsukame was...a lot upon first meeting. He let a few inappropriate comments slip and you nervously laughed it off until Kai came out and killed the guy in front of you. Since then, Katsukame learned his place around you. Oh and Pops? That old man adored you since the very first moment. How could he not? You're giving his misguided boy a chance to experience real love for the first time! To him, you were considered family from the very first day you took Kai's heart.

The show's never had any gay characters and I legitimately never think they will. Don't get me wrong, a show doesn't NEED lgbtq rep to be good. But I'm a little worried they're avoiding it for the wrong reasons.

If characters in a show don't naturally fall in love, it feels rushed or forced. A lot of people feel this way about Titan and Titania- We don't know if this'll become a true canon ship or anything yet, because Titan does seem to be a little more distant from Titania's affections, but alas, it is Titania's affections which are the problem. Some think its shoehorned in, and I can't really blame them. The blushing was obnoxious, and Titania didn't spend too much time on-screen with Titan, and Titania never got the development AWAY from Titan to BE a proper character, really. It feels like shipping the main character with a side character who hasn't had their own story fleshed out yet.

So, if love isn't natural, it's hard to lapse into it. I don't want this to happen for any ships on the show, let alone a gay one lol. But I think the whole Titan x Titania thing kind of presents my issue, that they might be falling down the road of forcing ships just because one character is a girl and the other is a boy. If i haven't made that clear, that's bad and I don't want that.

Relationships between characters are hard to handle, and admittedly Solarballs has done a very good job so far! Pluto and Charon were handled wonderfully and I do get the appeal of other hinted ships like Calisto and Triton. Genuinely, they CAN handle ships well. One day I would LIKE to see a gay ship in Solarballs handled with the same grace. But that kind of rises the problem of community shipping discourse. No main character in Solaballs will be revealed to be queer. I'm just saying, the likelihood of that is like. 0%. And it's not because Solarballs is homophobic or anything,, rather its a conflict of interests.

Make your main character gay and anger the fandom who had their own headcanons, ORRRR keep everyone ambiguous! Shipping culture is HUGE especially in Solarballs. The people who make Solarballs KNOW their community, at least a little, and they do listen to our feedback. So, why upset the fandom by taking away one of the Main Characters they PROBABLY have headcanons for already.... and instead just, keep it on the low? Oh also the whole 'their audience is kids' thing and the potential backlash they could get for representation,, if ykyk.

So I guess, no character is gay and no character is straight or whatever you headcanon because we'll probably never truly get a reveal on any character being gay. I kind of hope the same thing is true for straightness, god forbid they make Mercury crush on a woman, you could get the best woman alive and I'd still keep him 16 ft away. LMFAO. ANYWAYS

That was my rant because I needed to get it out and I've seen a bit of this topic from kids in the fandom. Yep. Thanks for reading if u did because lord is this long.

Okay so like I’ve seen a lot of people talking about how in the Knuckles Series; Sonic still calls Maddie by her name and not “Mom” like he calls Tom “Dad”, but like to me it makes sense. For one; Sonic obviously has a closer relationship with Tom, culminating in him calling him “Dad” by the end of the second movie. Going by the fact the house is still under construction during the series, it’s clear not much time has passed since the end of the second movie, so going off of that, there hasn’t been much development time for Sonic to also grow comfortable calling Maddie “Mom”. After all, if it took him the months that occurred between the 1st and 2nd move to get there with Tom, he’d really be speed running it calling Maddie “Mom” by the series.

But think I it might be even deeper than that. Longclaw was Sonic’s first adoptive mother, who he blames himself for her loss. As far as we know, he never had a father figure before, so there’s no previous baggage with the term “Dad” like “Mom” would have. Sonic may still be calling Maddie by her name as a way to protect himself from future harm, from the possibility of potentially losing another mother figure. After all, you can’t lose something if you never acknowledge you have it in the first place, right?

Yes, to everything! This is something I've thought of a lot!

Time to answer with my own rant. 🤣

Yeah, I can definitely understand why Sonic would have more trouble calling Maddie "mom," because of Longclaw (even though he called Longclaw by her name as well, but the books confirmed that he saw her as his mother). It was easier for him to latch onto Tom, and even though it took what, eight ish months of living with the Wachowskis to actually call him "dad," he did eventually. I still think Sonic will start referring to Maddie as his mother eventually, but it totally makes sense why he hasn't yet.

I think it's a similar case with Knuckles, but it's the other way around. Knuckles's mother was never mentioned, but his father was heavily involved in his childhood. Everyone got the implication that he was going to be a mama's boy after the tidbits from the end of movie 2 and the short, "Sonic Drone Home." And I still think that will one day be the case. Since he's a bit older than Sonic, and is more independent, however, I think it'll take Knuckles a long while to be able to think of anyone as his parents. I still think it'll happen at some point, starting with Maddie, but I wouldn't be surprised if it takes a while. Even longer than it took Sonic.

I like how they did that arc in the second movie. It was mostly unspoken, but I liked the sort of parallel from the boat scene's "Stop trying to be my dad," to "I've got a lot more than that, Dad." 🥰 There are many implications that this is something Tom & Maddie have been wanting for a while. It's clear they love all three kids dearly, and Maddie herself referred to Knuckles as one of her kids. Sure, she got (rightfully) ticked at him for basically destroying the living room and the car, but there was zero implication that she was going to give up.

I'm very curious to see more of Tails's and Knuckles's relationships with Tom & Maddie in the third movie. Maybe there will be an arc similar to Sonic and Tom's in the second movie? Of the two, Tails would become more comfortable with calling them by such titles sooner, and I'm hoping to see some of that soon.

I have a lot of hopes for sure. Jeff Fowler has said a lot that he has a ton of plans for the Sonic Cinematic Universe, so we could easily get more spin offs and more content. 🥰 Our little space kids will get there eventually! I'm just so glad they have parents to care for them in this universe. 💙

Pussy pt. 2 /positive end/ (Jude Bellingham) *Smut*

A/N: will come out with a negative ending too. I feel like this story could develop more, and the positive end is slightly finite, so to give more opportunity to continue, i'll make a negative one too.

Y/N's POV:

It's been 3 weeks since Jude walked out on me, and saying I miss him is an understatement. He's lurking in every corner of my mind. "Are you sure I have to come?" I ask, hunching my back at maya. "Yes!! You'll have fun, Y/N. You can't rot in here forever." She tells me, blending my eye makeup. "You know who's going to be there!" I tell her. "Oh my god. Big deal. Your lover is going to be there. Why do you care? Stick with us and you'll be fine."  Phoenix says. "How am I supposed to 'be fine' when he's around?" I tell them. I don't think I'll be able to bare seeing his stupid face without kissing it. "He's not even worth it. You'll find some good dick, tonight. Trust me. It'll make you forget all about him." Milly says. She's probably right. How am I tripping over a guy I never even had?

The girls were right. This is the most fun I've had in weeks. I'm sat at the bar, chatting away with phoenix while the rest of the girls dance in the center of the club. "I just thought that she was so much better than that! Oh- Hey baby." Our gossip gets interrupted by Alex. "Hey, love. Can I sit?" He asks for my permission. I stick out my hand, pointing to the chair next to his girl. He takes a seat and orders his drink. "So, what are you ladies on about?" He asks. "Just updating Y/N on the latest gossip. She's a little out of the circle." She tells her boyfriend, whispering the last part, jokingly.(in like a whispering loud enough to seem like she's not trying to keep a secret from me idk if that makes sense)"Yeah, I've noticed. Where've you been lately? Jude's sweeping you away from us." He says, sipping his drink. Phoenix lightly nudges him to where he gives her a questioning look. "Jude and I aren't talking. He hasn't told you?" I ask him. We all know all about Jude's past hoes, so why hasn't he starting shitting on me yet. "Oh. I'm so sorry. I didn't know. Umm, no. He hasn't mentioned it." Alex tells me. "It's fine." I smile at him.

About 2 hours of gossiping and drinking at the bar with phoenix has passed, but it feels like less that 10 minutes. Her and I are obnoxiously laughing about something that I said. At this point, we're damn near falling off our chairs, holding our stomachs and wiping the tears from our eyes. This girl makes everything so much better. I haven't even thought about Jude. Jude. Where is he, anyways? I haven't seen him. "Hey, Alex?" His attention turns away from his light conversation with the bartender. "Hmm?" He raises his eyebrows at me. "Is Jude here? I haven't  seen him today." I feel Phoenix roll her eyes without even looking at her. "Yeah, he's over there." He points towards the corner of the dance floor. He's talking with Sienna, a friend of Milly's. She knows nothing of Jude and I relationship. He look so focused on her, his arm rested on the doorway of the bathroom, his body towering over her. I feel fire burning in my eyes as he indulges in her, the same way he used to indulge in me. "Hey. Leave him. Let's go dance." Phoenix and I are much more reserved than the rest of the girls in our group, but after a few drinks, were the worst of the bunch.

She grabs my hand and pulls my off the barstool I was sat on, leaving her boyfriend alone. She drags me up the stairs of the nightclub to the dancefloor on the second floor, far away from Jude. It is the VIP section, however. "Phoenix, we can't get in here." I tell her, pulling her hand. "We have tits. We'll use them." I roll my eyes at her crude, drunken ideas.

Phoenix has been arguing with the bouncer for what feel like an eternity. "Let's just go dance downstairs. It's not that serious, Phoenix." I tell her, my feet hurting due to my very high heels. "They're with me." We hear a deeper voice say from behind us. We both turn around to see Jude standing there. He looks so beautiful. His hair as clean as normal. Despite my heels, he still towers over both of us. He looks down at me and gives me a warm smile. The same warm smile that made me catch feelings for him in the first place. The bouncer immediately apologizes to Birmingham's golden boy and let's us in. Hmm, I wouldn't exactly trust myself answering this question exactly, but I can give some of my current insight on the dynamics. A lot of this will continue to be fleshed out as I write the "romance" tinted scenes. (I'm also not certain about what exactly you are looking for so hopefully my answer helps!) (I'm also going to try not to spoil much in these answers, but all the same they could give insights that you don't get with the game and by extension spoil certain things. You have been warned.)

Everix: Everix is very caring, in a soft way, preferring subtle gestures and displays of affections. They have a noble upbringing and some traditional views on relationships as a result, reigning in their emotion as most nobles are taught to do. More specific to the MC, the rune that gives them power over the MC unsettles them quite a lot. Furhermore, the situation the MC is in Everix sympathizes with quite a lot. They worry for the MC and see themself in them (at least at the start). The exact details of how the relationship will be a little up in the air depending on the MC. Any same sex relationships will furthermore be Everix's first relationship of that type and will be addressed.

Hayes: Hayes is a lot more forward with their intentions, preferring to "live a little" while they still can. They, like Everix, have a noble upbringing, yet buck against most of the decorum they were taught, but not necessarily the "keep your emotions in check" part. While Hayes may be quick to flirt with people and even enjoy one-night stand type relationships, they do not actually open up any more then that (at least haven't in their past). For their relationship/attraction to the MC, they are interested in the thrill that pursuing the MC gives them. The fear they experience around the MC brings something to their attraction that is different from the other people Hayes has had interest in. Hayes themself is a very physical person, showing affection through touch, both platonically and romantically. A lot of how Hayes will address their fears and desires for the MC will come later as the relationship develops.

Sam: Sam completely avoids emotional attachment to people and has since the MC was imprisoned. (This goes doubly so for a Sam that the MC admitted they loved romantically in the past). It will take a lot for the MC to get Sam to be willing to open up, let alone actually commit to a relationship. As the MC can learn, Sam has never been in a relationship (outside of a possible one with the MC). As you might be able to glean, Sam before the MC's imprisonment was fiery, passionate and a overbearing optimist and in their past possible relationship Sam would've been eager to do just about anything with the MC, as long as they did it together. But if that Sam will return is a mystery.

Quinn: Quinn has very different approaches to relationships then the other characters. Mainly stemming from her species. Being an Estriel, she outlives most of the other mortals around her and since she has chosen to leave her home she rarely associates with other Estriel. This of course has made it so that she doesn't truly connect with those she dates or gets with. At least not openly, most of the time hiding her true feelings or masking them, to attempt to save herself later. This was the case with Morganna's parents, despite the fact she did care for them a lot, she knew that they'd die long before she did, so tempered her own feelings for them. With the MC, she sees opportunity. The MC being something she has dedicated her life so far to studying, spending as much time with and learning as much as she can about the MC is something she wants. She is more then willing to enter a relationship with the MC to learn more. But at the same time, while it hasn't been proven, Quinn hypothesizes that Corruptants are immortal, so potentially she wouldn't need to temper her feelings towards them.

Maverick: Growing up surrounded by "family" in the cult cell he was in, isolated Maverick from a proper experience surrounding all things relationship. Add onto the alienation he faced due to his visions and status in the cult and Maverick has absolutely zero experience and similar levels of knowledge on dealing with feelings of attraction. The Cult's "sex-ed" is unsurprisingly not really focused on and thus Maverick is partly unaware of how/why he feels a lot of the way he feels. Mavericks own quiet and anxious personality don't really help him when it comes to admitting or addressing those feelings, and like Sam, a relationship with the MC will be the first/only one he has had up to the point. A lot of the relationship will be exploring that but even more specific to the MC is his worship/deification of the MC. Maverick will do basically whatever the MC says, but views the MC completely "untouchable"/out of his league. A romance with him will have to explore these types of themes.

Again, I'm not sure exactly about these types of things, and a lot of expansion will come when I write the scenes. Hopefully this answered your question!

I'll also add that while this story has character interaction and will have more romance, it is not a romance story, so I apologize in advance if I'm not that good at writing that type of stuff.

pran-so-cool to pran-so-brave

We all talk about pran so cool to pran in love and yes of course everybody needs to talk about that growth all the time forever and ever cos really it gave us one of the most beautiful and respectful love stories of all time, but i also wanna take a teensy second to talk about how pran so brave too.

Jumping into a body of water to help a drowning person not easy. putting your thoughts and feelings into a song and then singing it out loud, not easy. Confronting years of lying and suppression and hurt, standing up to an overbearing parent is definitely not easy.

Dealing with insecurities, voicing those insecurities, working to overcome those insecurities not easy. confronting your feelings, taking a leap ready to get hurt if that happens, and then deciding to stick through one person no matter the hurdles also farthest from easy. Pran has done so many brave things over the course of his young life but right now i just wanted to focus on what he did in episode 10 in this scene.

Like seriously picture this, you're out with your boyfriend, grocery shopping have a wonderful time teasing and goofing off with each other and then bam, his bitch ass of a dad appears and see's you in a not entirely uncompromising situation.

And then without even thinking of where they are or how they are literally just kids, this man begins to get aggressive with them.

I can't even explain just how triggered this scene or just the gif of it even makes me...that said i need to talk about it because just can't get over the significance of what pran did here.

On paper he is just standing up to defend his boyfriend from an aggressive man but of course in reality he is actually putting himself between a fully grown adult man and his own adult son (who lets not forget is physically stronger than Pran). I need me and you and everybody to process the fact that Pran is at heart (and brain development wise) still very much a child. He is barely 20 and he is gay and he is in public with his boyfriend in a conservative country (i know there is no homophobia in the bb universe but still!)

And suddenly he is outed and then this aggressive loud man who is his boyfriend's dad and his family's sworn enemy comes and starts being aggressive with Pat with whom he has as far as Pran knows had a pretty smooth at least non violent relationship (that we know of) so then do we realize how incredible is it that Pran immediately put himself between Pat and Ming??? Not only is he physically no match for Ming. But in how society would view it, he really had no place there? and because there hasn't been a history of Ming being aggressive with Pat, Pran needn't have done what he did, since in his mind such a grim possibility is not looming large.

And yet the moment he saw that Pat was possibly in danger, that very instant he comes in front of Pat, trying to calm the situation down? I'm just...that's just....so so very brave of him?!! My brain truly cannot comprehend the inexplicable amount of love Pran must have towards Pat to exhibit that level of protectiveness without even taking a second to think of his own safety or anything against Pat's own father??? Pran who hasn't had the best most healthy relationship with his own parents was standing up for Pat against his father!

And then to be shoved aside like that to the side, in such a violent manner, being looked at with so much contempt, with all those people watching. And then going back home to stand up to his mother only to get shouted at and slapped??

And then years of distance and time and growth later, he comes back and he actually brings a gift for that very man who as far as we know didn't even apologise to Pran or Pat for what he did to them there. a man who for years had kept them away from each other, filling ideas of hate into their minds (with ample help from dissaya ofc) and disrespecting and demeaning both of them??

Pran really took all that hate that was directed at him and he returned it in the form of love, he did it for pat's sake, but he did it none the less.

He really embodied "i will be tender hearted despite despite despite" and he did it while he was growing professionally and personally.

I'm sorry but look at that smile???? only the vilest spawn of satan could hate him my heart is about to burst rn.

He fr took some of the sourest lemons life offered him and along with pat turned it into a lemonade so sweet even 20 rewatches can't wash the sweetness off of it and i genuinely can't help but marvel in awe. I seriously need to sit down and think about this for days weeks ever cos really it is just something else. Pran is just something else.

He shows us how we're more than our trauma, how our choices are what define us and that even if it's difficult we can make that journey, and that we can do it with love.

You might, after all, see him as nothing but a friend. A good one - a really good one, though who was truly differenciating - without any creeping thoughts that were plaguing his own mind.

You made your way over to him, body swaying, hips detaching in opposite direction and you were breathtaking. Tight dress that Jisung had cursed when you first walked out of the apartment and into his car, heels high he wondered how your feet haven't sored yet, jewelery and hair, make up all planned out to accentuate you in ways that left him knocked out of air in his lungs. Wondering if you planned to drive him on purpose, or if Jisung was, simply, getting ahead of himself.

"Dance with me. You're standing here like a lost puppy."

Your hands moved swiftly on his arms and everywhere you touched ignited fire, millions on millions of sparks across his skin, and he nearly confessed then and there. He did almost, alcohol in his system far too mamipulative, and it was, too, the only reason he let himself pull by your force eventually and onto the dance floor, onto a mass of people he would feel overwhlemed by minus the drug within his stream of blood, and he let himself guide by you. You started dancing and so did he, you smiled at him and he smiled back. You were everything he saw, and you were so very oblivious to it it pained him. Face changing when the music did and you took him by the hand to tear it up, towards the ceiling and farther even towards the sky, jumping to a song Jisung didn't recognize but that you must love, given reaction.

And you sang your heart out, purified, powdered and eventual injected joy in your every move, your every glimpse of the eye, your grin that has grown so wide he wondered if your face felt numb by now.

"I love you."

Screaming through the noise of the room, voice far too quiet in comparison and Jisung's body froze in it's entirety. He was dumb, so utterly dumb. A moment, one singular moment and he had ruined it all surely, years and years of tended friendship, malicious years sometimes of hiding feelings and adoration yet years he cherished, and he took them all by materializing the three words he hasn't even planned on letting out, at all. His world crumbling and you merely looked at him, eyes sinking, body slowing but only softly, Jisung thought he imagined it after all. Face falling, grin disappearing - he had read you wrong all along, despair and agony in your visage living proof, and he cursed the damned alcohol. And then your face shifted again, if disguised or not he wasn't sure and you gave a smile, scrunched brows and your body leaned forward.

"What? What did you say?"

Maybe you pretended, maybe you didn't. For the sake of his feelings, of the friendship, or of genuine unknowing he didn't know, though it didn't matter, not now, not for the moment. Jisung's heart eased off, bricks on bricks turning into softest feathers that stayed a weight on his chest though lighter now, and he granted a smile, shaking his head, hand in hand with you again and jumping to that same song he yet hadn't recognized. Maybe he's gone wrong and maybe it would stay like this for an entirety; or maybe he would risk disaster anew, when he felt time right.

⚠️Long ass XO Kitty post with spoilers⚠️

OK I need to say this: I would MUCH rather people were honest and said that they just personally prefer Kitty x Minho because of their fun dynamic instead of saying stuff like "Kitty x Yuri came out of nowhere" or "it didn't feel natural" or "it was already too late in the season"

Like... No??? It?? Wasn't??

You cannot IMAGINE the euphoria I felt when I realized that this plot is actually going somewhere. As I was watching episode 1, right off the bat I felt like Yuri's and Kitty's "meet-cute" was the most powerful.

With Dae, Kitty had asked him to take a picture of her with her family.

With Minho, he bumped into her with his bag then pretended that he doesn't speak English.

But Yuri??? her car ALMOST runs Kitty over, it STRIKES her, sweeps her off her feet then Yuri gets out in a hurry, worried, offering a ride then they actually have a genuine conversation in the car.

The first half of the season is them being "rivals" while still respecting eachother. (So the whole "enemies to lovers" argument for Kitty x Minho doesn't even work cause like, it was the same??? For Yuri and Kitty?? If not more intense because there is actual tension, not only bickering) Then learning about how their mothers were best friends and roommates adding to the "fate" factor of their relationship after their over the top meet-cute. Finally, they become friends and support eachother as best as they can and as they do, Kitty realizes that this dream she had of Yuri wasn't "just" a random dream and she actually *does* have feelings for Yuri and this. ALL of this progression just felt so organic and gradual and overall just, well-done?? And not rushed at all how some people claim it to be.

To me it just feels like this is the first time in a while (if ever, for ME personally) that the audience of a show got "straightbaited" and honestly? I loved it.

Everytime things were going well or starting to go well between Kitty and Dae I couldn't help but be worried/sad/disappointed, thinking that surely this whole development with Yuri would be dropped and they would go back to being friends but it NEVER HAPPENED. Thus far, everytime things were going good, great or even amazing with Dae, Kitty couldn't help but think back to Yuri and I felt so much relief from it everytime.

And to be clear, this isn't meant AT ALL as hatred towards Kitty x Minho or their shippers. I think their potential is very solid and Minho is really lovable BUT I just don't want Yuri to be erased from the picture by people's claims that their relationship "wouldn't make sense" or that it was rushed or any other complaint of the same type.

People say that while Kitty hasn't shown any interest in Minho (yet) Yuri hasn't shown any in Kitty either and that she's still very much in love with Juliana... now I'm just entering speculation territory here so feel free to leave if you're not interested or take this with a grain of salt but -> I almost fully believe that if (and I hope to god there is) a season two of this show, Yuri and Juliana might encounter some difficulties and break up. Now I don't want to undermine the feelings they have for eachother AT ALL, but as we've seen with this season with Kitty and Dae, the author/writers aren't afraid to end a couple that had (apparently) been going strong for 4 years. So if a 2nd season gets greenlit, although Dae is out of the picture, I bet Kitty Minho and Yuri will somehow end up in a triangle (well, in a way they kind of already ARE but you get my point.)

Realistically we really don't know that much about Yuri and Juliana's relationship beyond the fact that they were most likely eachother's first love and that their parents separated them after finding out that they're gay. I don't think it's impossible that in some way or another, their romantic relationship will end (on a good note hopefully!) To let place to the love triangle. Not that I like love triangles but well, they gotta set something up for 2nd season and this is the most safe bet atm.

On a completely unrelated note, I loved that scene on stage where Minho and Dae were looking at eachother like typical rivals in love with the same girl right out of a k-drama while their "girl" just accidentally set fire to the stage and her clothes because her mind is full of another girl jdhzhdjdhdhd. And that's also a big part of the reason why I'm rooting for KittyxYuri! I feel like a concept like this has never been done to completion. In general the girl will go right back to liking one of the guys while her "crush" towards the girl will be written off as just a short-lived attraction but here? There's still a strong possibility of it being legit.

Aaaaaa anyway this all ended up in a rambling. Sorry about that
