I was going to do tags but I'm a lawyer so I actually have a lot to say about this:
In the US, our right to sue is literally our most protected right (look into 5th and 6th amendment if you're interesting in delving into this!) because it is often the only legal remedy available to anyone. Over the years, other protections like "statutes" and "regulations" have been pared down so systematically that they're basically worthless.
This is also why other countries consider America sue happy - most other countries actually have methods to hold people (and businesses) accountable for their illegal actions that don't involve going to court, if you can believe it.
The fact of the matter is, we do need to challenge every single improper word used in every single improper law because those are the only tools we have right now. Republicans control every arm of the government, including most judicial seats and the entire supreme court. That means literally the only thing we can do right now is sue, especially on the state levels. (besides mutual aid and civil war, which most people are (rightfully!) not truly interested in participating in)
That said, I get where the frustration with this is coming from. Does the fact that the law "made everyone women" make trans folk safe? No. Does it even matter if it does say that if this administration has been so successful at ignoring the rules and getting away with it? Probably not.
None of this will make trans folk safe right now, or stop deportations, or end war in Gaza - which is why so many people, especially younger folk, are frustrated. And the fact of the matter is, they should be.
I have not been alive for a period of time where a Republican has legitimately won an election. And I'm not talking about popular vote vs. electoral college, I'm talking about the fact Republicans stole the 2000 election from Al Gore even after a recount showed Florida was in favor of Gore, got away with it, and then stole two more elections right after using the same methods and the same cast from the first round. Ever wonder how Roberts became the chief Justice? Or how Amy Coney Barrett and Kavanaugh got their seats? The Supreme Court has 3 Bush v. Gore alumni on it.
We are at a historic low of trust in the judicial system and the supreme court, because so many Americans have not been alive for a period of time where the Republicans were playing fair. Unsurprisingly, as of December 2024, only 34% of Americans trust the supreme court - down from 45% before the election (a number that was already abysmally low). This is an easy metric to look at and say "no duh" given how corrupt the current court is, and it's easy to ignore the implications, but this is one of the most dangerous statistics out right now. Our entire legal system is based on believing in the legal system, and when the majority of Americans don't believe it works that means the majority of Americans have already accepted the status quo must change - aka actual civil war.
The only other countries that had a drop this steep in judicial trust recently are: Syria in the runup and early years of its civil war, Myanmar during the period that overlapped the return of military rule in 2021, and Venezuela from 2012 to 2016 during the extreme economic collapse and political power vacuum.
There are two factions fighting here who both want the same outcome! A functioning legal system, an end to Gaza genocide, trans protections, abortion, lgbt rights etc etc etc: group 1 that fights with the tools that are available, and group 2 that rebels in search for a solution because they've lost trust in the tools. Neither group is wrong, but the solution to group 2's problem must be much more violent than group 1 - and I think most of us still want things to work out without literal war breaking out in the US.
That means we need to use all of our tools right now - malicious compliance, obstruction, technical legal language, mutual aid - before giving up and accepting that nothing will work. Because admitting that means the only solution is actual civil war, and I think we should plug away systematically at a few other options before we insist on signing people up to kill each other while the rich watch us from another country.
“This thing is legally dubious and therefore technically unenforceable.” Is not a “useless liberal gotcha” it’s how legalism works in this country. Tying up stupidly worded EOs in court is the quickest way to keep them from being implemented. It is the definition of “doing something.” But it doesn’t usually involve much tweeting so of course a certain type of leftist feels obligated to mock it.

the problem with fiction using robot racism as a metaphor for the dehumanization of black people during slavery or the violence done against trans women, is that it seems like most audience members did not understand that the robots in question were suppose to be a STAND-IN for actual real life minorities, and instead internalized it as literally just being "racism against robots is bad" when that's like. not an actual real life issue. you don't have to wish death on those black people for being mean to the robot it's fine actually.

Hi, can I request a gojo x foreign reader?
You can make the reader feel high self-esteem because of the compliments they would receive.
I have noticed that Japanese people see foreign women with a curvy body even if foreign women say that in their country they are flat, the Japanese praise them for their physique, personality, beauty.
I have even heard testimonies from foreigners who have just flirted with couple where the person flirting asked their partner if they would look cute together and their partner responded they would also be with a foreigner.
That's all, thanks for reading me (。・ω・。)
─୨ৎ── gojo x foreign reader ⟡ ݁₊ .
cw: one little horny implication at the end because im ovulating and its everyones problem
wc: 580ish
hi lovely anon!!! this is genius because gojo would be SO feral for a woman who doesn't exactly fit into beauty standards, and that's canon because I said so.
hope u like it!! <3
Tumblr media
the people in japan always complimented and praised you so highly, so genuinely. in your home country, it was more common to hear neutral or backhanded 'compliments'.
you'd never quite gotten used to it. sure, it was great. the lingering stares, the frequent compliments on your physique, the adoration from children... it was all incredibly ego-boosting, and you found yourself feeling a little more confident by the day.
pre-moving to japan, friends and family had kindly taken the time to warn you about the japanese beauty standards and how they might make you feel a little alienated, considering how slender the typical japanese woman is. however, almost immediately you discovered that this was incorrect. since day one, people have literally tripped over themselves just to get a look at you.
japanese people, particularly the men, complimented you relentlessly. and somehow, it was never in a way that made you feel objectified. It was gentle, respectful, and sincere.
you'd met satoru gojo not long after arriving in japan, for work purposes, and had become pretty close comrades. he was nothing short of charming, and not to mention very handsome. even despite being considered incredibly gorgeous yourself, your confidence faltered in his presence.
one afternoon, as you were sitting across from gojo in your headquarters attending to some work. well- you were working. he was watching you.
he raised an eyebrow at you with that signature smirk of his.
you met his eyes and blinked before plainly asking, "what?"
"you." he answered, pushing his glasses ontop of his head, eyes staring straight through you.
you raised an eyebrow at him and shook your head, returning to whatever it was you were doing. gojo was almost always flirty towards you in some shape or form, you'd grown accustomed to it by now.
"hey! don't ignore me! im being serious. you don't give yourself enough credit.. you're like, this perfect being. an angel sent straight from heaven."
and when you look at him with utter confusion, his jaw goes slack, and his eyes widen in disbelief, he looked as if you had just broken his heart.
“oh my god,” he breathed, his voice low and almost reverent. “you really have no idea, do you?”
before you could even process his words, he pulled up a chair beside you, moving in closer until your faces were mere inches apart. you could feel the warmth of his body and the faint scent of his cologne that was quickly filling the air between you. your face immediately flushed hot, and you instinctively leaned back, but he wasn’t about to let you get away.
his voice softened, laced with sincerity. “listen, doll. you’ve got this beauty that’s rare. genuine beauty. It’s not the kind that can be bought or manufactured. It’s the kind that’s just... you. and I, for one, think that its the most gorgeous thing.”
his intense gaze shifted from your eyes down to your figure, his smirk returning as he looked you over with a profound appreciation that had your heart doing backflips.
"and you, baby," he leaned back and gave you his signature wink, "are insatiable."
gojo stands up, his hands rushing into his pockets suspiciously fast, and gives you a kiss on the cheek before leaving the room.
as the door clicked shut behind him, you realise that from now on, no other compliment any other man is inevitably going to give you will have an effect on you.

I don't go here but where does he think the trauma comes from? His next line is "she has daddy issues" which ... Come from daddies? Mommy issues typically come from mommy's unhealthy attachment or traumatic reaction to either hubby or her own daddy? The root cause of all of these is ultimately domestic violence which happens in any kind of household but like most households are heterosexual, you know? And of course there are abusive women who make their children misogynists by being horrible mothers but like, how did they get there? Who hurt them?
I'm not a statistician but I think a lot of this really is a cherchez l'homme problem, you know?
You don't become an abusive piece of shit who gives partners trauma in a vacuum? Things have to happen to you, you have to learn beating people up makes you correct, which is just not, like, generally speaking a feature of female socialization in most societies. There are women who abuse their sons because they're like small men they can get away with hurting, which evidently any decent person condemns, but think of why they would want to hurt men

I think anyone who reduces common complaints about misogyny in fandom spaces (f/f ships getting overshadowed, sidelining of female characters, the way rl women are treated, etc) to 'their fans just aren't insane or horny enough to compete w/ yaoi fans!!' has never interacted with people who actually like women

Sometimes I wonder if people understand that you cannot make people stop comparing mentally ill and neurodivergent people to like serial killers and horror movie monsters without abandoning most of how we conceptualize and categorize mental illness. It's not like an ableism that comes from outside of the DSM or ICD from laymen, it's entirely baked in. The entire mental health system is about categorizing mentally ill and ND people as threats, liabilities, and inconveniences, while blaming it on intrinsic brain illnesses based on the ideas of typically incredibly biased and bigoted psychologists from several decades ago which are not founded in evidence (and said ideas persist mostly unchanged with the reasonings merely altered or justified with a shrug). The fact that after every mass shooting there is more posturing of "mental health awareness" and increasing MH services, when most mass shootings are committed by radicalized cis (and usually white) men tells you that a lot of this is security theatre. The MH system really just makes it more unsafe to seek medical help but it helps "neurotypical" people feel better, and it is the comfort of "NTs" that is most prioritized by this system. And of course, anyone who commits acts of extreme violence like mass shootings will likely be labeled mentally ill first (rather than radicalized, exc.) because of the circular logic that no one can be a Threat without being mentally ill. Do you see The Problem?

I think we should stop saying Paul was basically a woman and start saying Ringo was basically a woman, not because it's any less stupid but because it's exactly as stupid and much much funnier

In one of the 647968 posts going "What You Like Says Nothing About You" (broadly agree) the first comment in the reply section was, "well I'm never going to apologize for being a Swiftie and a Reylo and Destiel shipper and Snape fan and loving ACOTAR and LOTR and Hamilton and B99" and I'm like, actually being this much of a pathological white liberal makes you the exception to this rule 😭😭

Sometimes it's just so funny to me whenever Miruko is on a poll and people be like "You're voting for the bunny girl"?
Look, if you can find characters attractive what's wrong with Miruko? Okay, she a bunny woman. Oh, wow. Like people haven't been attracted to stranger before. Ain't the first time and it won't be the last.

It’s Bisexuality Visibility Month (also Suicide Awareness Month), and the biphobia has been constant and intense, even in our own bi spaces, mostly from fellow LGBTQIA+ people.
Bi women have been told they are tainted for being with men, that we are dirty and dick obsessed. We’ve been told we are perverted fetishists by both cis and trans lesbians, with even gay men joining in on the insults, with one even threatening violence towards bi women if they come near lesbians. We even got told we deserve to be abused, raped, and murdered by our male partners because that’s what we deserve for dating men.
Bi men are being accused again for being HIV carriers, with gay men saying they are only good for sex because they will end up leaving them for women. One trans man said he would kill himself if a man started dating a woman after him, not leave him for one but just start dating again and that person being a woman.
I haven’t seen insults directly about non-binary bisexuals, but I’m sure there would be and a lot of hate lumps us all together. All this hates stings me but I can’t imagine the pain of all this for non-binary, trans women, and trans men dealing with it all, and it makes me so disappointed and angry that fellow trans people in this community are hurting them.
Pride Month a lesbian wrote “I wish god would eradicate all the bisexuals” while another wrote “For Pride Month let all the bi people disappear” with both having thousands of likes and comments agreeing. Now during Bi Visibility Month, a non-binary lesbian with feminist in their profile posted “Happy bi visibility month, I hope they find a cure soon 💖”. While continuing to mock us after.
Our allies and so-called LGBTQIA+ advocates have been silent and have even participated in bierasure, laughing at us when we point it out, saying “It’s not that serious.” “Lol the bis are getting upset over nothing again”. Only the bisexual advocates and pages have spoken out against the hate.
The B in LGBTQIA+ is suppose to be for bisexual but this community says and treats us as awfully as the bigots do to all of us. Bisexual is the sexuality that is attracted to two or more genders, that we have the ability to love anyone regardless of their gender. But we’re treated as greedy, perverted, hyper sexual, unfaithful, which from bigots you understand and usually brush off, but from those within the community who go through similar prejudice and should understand, sharing the same ignorant mindset.
These spaces are suppose to be our safe havens as well, but are just as dangerous. We try making our own spaces and even that is invaded by these people, we are beyond exhausted. We need the other members of the community that aren’t biphobic to speak out more and shut these people and this hate down. Because the lack of empathy from this community is frightening and all this in-fighting will allow the bigots to pick us a part more easily.
#i’ve been struggling mentally since pride month because of all the hate#i had to unfollow a lot of lgbtqia creators due to them ignoring or participating in it#i even had to unfollow most lgbtqia pages because of the comments#i’ve been sticking to bi pages and tags but it’s full of biphobia#i’m a sa survivor being told by the community that is suppose to be the most understanding and supporting that i deserved what happened#why do i deserve to be abused and die because i have an attraction that isnt limited by gender#the trauma from that relationship has left me disabled#i thought i found a community that was safe for someone like me#but the biggest deception is that us bi people are a part of lgbtqia#them and the bigots could settle their differences with their combined hatred for bi people#but i’m the one that is the danger and doesn’t belong#i spent my youth hiding my attraction to women during the 90s and early 2000s due how that time was#and now this community is making me feel ashamed again#my mental health was doing okay until i opened myself up to this community#i regret coming out#i wish i went ahead with killing myself in 2012 like i planned#bi visibility month#bisexual visibility month#bisexual#lgbtqia#tw: biphobia#our rights are being striped away again but sure bisexuals are the problem#i have too much unfinished business to end my life#i was harassed through out school being accused of being a lesbian and was assaulted by one of those girls#pulled down to the ground by my hair and kicked non stop in the ribs until someone pulled her off#even my gender came into question when that show there's something about miriam came out#telling me i don't belong in queer spaces when i've been assumed queer almost my whole fucking life and before most of you were born

I cannot describe how much I hate the "nobody hates women more than other women" group and response. God yall are so fucking annoying and my opinion of your intelligence immediately plummets
Because truly are you dumb? Or do you just not exist in the real world????
Like I truly fucking hate it because it is a narrative concocted to literally demean any women's movement because;" look there are women that disagree so the movement is obviously misguided and unserious"🙄
Like I'm not dismissing that internalized misogyny exists amd there are definitely women that want and love to uphold the patriarchy and are very vocal in their disbelief in women's right, Since women began fighting for their right there have always been women, and there probably always will be women, working in opposition of women's movements. but like point to any group in fucking history and see people that actively worked against their own best interest.
But also sometimes women disagree with each other and they might not even like each other. And it's not internalized misogyny and it's not being a "pick me" and it's not trying to tear other women down. It is simply two people who just happen to be women, not liking each other.
Men are actually violent with each other at truly astounding rates, most violent crimes are men against other men, Men actively work against the best interest of other men all the fucking time. Men can kill each other over beefs and nobody would even think to say "wow nobody hates men more than other men" or " men hating men what else is new" or "Men just hate other men it's in their nature". Nobody would dare suggest that all men must be a hive mind and their views on something must all be aligned before it can be taken seriously.
And that's because men can be people but women will always be women.

LIKE!!!!!! BEING TRANSGENDER BEING QUEER IN ANY WAY ISN'T HARMFUL BEHAVIOR!!!!!!! IT'S LITERALLY NOT EVEN A BEHAVIOR!!!!! IT'S JUST A THING THAT YOU ARE!!!!!! And SOMETIMES. You act accordingly! You may change your name and pronouns! You may seek HRT! You may look into surgery! You may only do a few of those things or any combination of those things (or maybe even none?!), whichever works for you and your sense of self-actualization. BUT. Doing ANY of those things. Is NOT HARMFUL BEHAVIOR!!!!!!!!!!! And in the sexuality department! If you have "same sex attraction" as they like to call it. Also not even a behavior. It's just a thing you Feel. But of course you gotta moralize Feelings, too. Forget about it!!!!! And if you Act on it. That's still not harmful. Who are you harming? Giving a little kissie to your same gendered homie???? Or getting handsy????? But on God. Do not get me started. My MAIN POINT. Is that there is literally no harm. There is nothing to correct here. There is nothing to fix here. Except for the hatred in your heart!!!!!! Your fear of the unknown!!!!!!!! WHY DID YOU HAVE TO GIVE ME ONGOING EVERLASTING TRAUMA OVER THIS THIS IS FUCKING STUPID‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
#SAME LOGIC CAM BE APLLIED TO AUTISM. AUTISM ITSELF IS NOT A BEHAVIOR.#but bestie i know i do not have the fucking words or capacity to get into it. i'm so sorry#i feel like. there's such a difference. for me personally. and i think it's entirely rooted in the time periods#i experienced each trauma/how long it's lived in me. like yeah homophobia/transphobia sucks ass#and can really fuck w me esp on a bad day. but most times i can move through it and articulate it#bc i was like. 15. i probably knew around 13. but i do feel like the brunt of it started at 15#the autism. i. internalized that i was a bad kid as soon as i was in kindergarten.#i internalized that i was a freak in 3rd grade.#i've had to work through SO much internaized ableism. as a previously high masking autistic individual.#my entire life i've felt like i've had to correct myself. and when the queerness became apparent#everyone made it their fucking job to correct me too.#THE APP. CRASHED. MID RANT. the power... of my rage.....#but like i was GONNA add. another key difference actually is i literally never understood Why#queerness in any form was 'bad' or sinful. like. straight up just never fucking got it.#like... why is it uniquely sinister.... for me (presumably something of a girl as it was understood at the time) to also like girls...#idk i just never fucking understood why it was such a fuckinh problem. why i 'should' have felt bad for it.#literally... who gives a shit....... and also??? women are people? just like guys? and what if i like her. what then.#idk arbitrary rules and autism don't really mix.#i have no greater point btw. it was probably Something about how

my problem when I say that I find most discussions on biphobia don't factor sex well isn't even "I don't think this is (as much of) a problem for bisexual men" because when you talk to them it's more often than not easy to trace a parallel experience. I just find odd how often bisexual men and women can be aggresors in discrimination against one another based on/related to sexuality.
I know a lot of bisexual women who have had bisexual men still treat them with assumptions of promiscuity and being "kinky". even more I can think of three guys with a pattern of preying on women who tend to be discarded for stable prestigious relationships because of those hyperseuxual bisexual stereotypes and then behave like domestic parasites on these relationships (and this is impossible to untagle from misogyny) but some of these same bisexual women and many others were disappointing contributors to "you will be left with HIV and dumped for a man" / "no but girl... how does it work being with a man who's been through more dick than you???" when I was dating a bisexual guy. (this in turn is tangled in a homophobia specific to sex between men) and so on and so on. of course any oppressed group can reproduce and enact prejudice that affects them but I'm not certain that's an accurate description of what happens in either direction.

It is because these people are stupid. Hope this helps.
#like. I don't know what to tell you. most people who commit murder are not Super Genius Criminal Masterminds#if your priority is killing someone and not anything else you don't make a flashy spectacle of it???? most people who do shit like this#want attention. it's not about some moral obligation they want attention. and when people prioritize Getting Attention. they do some#pretty contradictory and myopic things. have you ever observed a human. jfc y'all are not serious people#current events#tw: guns#okay sorry I'M SORRY. I'll stop talking about this. I just feel like I'm going insane#worshiping this guy is NOT it#y'all are going to drive me to substance abuse is2g#In the Vents#also.#if you are a feminist. then you should be against this. hold on let me explain before you go 'how are those even related you're deranged'#violent men are typically the ones more likely to hate women and abuse their partners because of it. and spousal homicide is going to#be a LOT harder to do if no one has access to guns. if you say 'oh there's an acceptable situation where you can point blank shoot someone#because they're a loathsome enough person' then. these people are going to take away the message that if their girlfriend/wife/female#relative/partner/etc. is 'bad' enough. is making their lives difficult enough. then it is acceptable to murder them. if you say 'there is#an acceptable circumstance for this' then EVERYONE WILL THINK THAT *THEY* HAVE THE ACCEPTABLE CIRCUMSTANCE#holding up guns as the solution to your problems IS ONLY GOING TO END WITH MORE WOMEN MORE KIDS AND MORE MINORITIES DEAD#and if you think that's an acceptable sacrifice because someone you hate might die. then I think maybe you shouldn't be talking to me.#like I said. I'm not going to be patient anymore. this is non-negotiable for me. if you're valorizing this guy and the culture of#gun violence that made his actions possible then get out I don't want to talk to you.#oh also once again: if your takeaway from this is that I'm somehow defending the CEO and you come on my post to say that I'm putting#you on blast so everyone can point and laugh at you for your lack of reading comprehension. again hope this helps :)

Me when I see another main characters trio (one parentified smart girl used as a tool to story progression that literally takes care of the two boys who are allowed to be goofy and are not watered down version of a human being Spoiler: the story is actually about them)
Bonus points if she has ✨going from a cold character that's wary of the main boy to close friend / love interest✨ arc
