I am so sick and tired of seeing all these “I know biden is bad, I know biden has done some bad things but vote for biden because trump will destroy our democracy” posts bc a) clearly our democracy is a sham and b) STOP DEFENDING BIDEN, STOP DOWNPLAYING WHAT HE HAS DONE! you do not need to, nor should you, defend biden to any degree. you can say that we cannot let trump win without that other bullshit. biden is pure evil, he is scum. and part of what makes him so horrendous and disturbing is the charade he puts on like he’s the good guy and trump is the evil, the bad to his good. quite literally the only thing that he has going for him is that his opponent is somehow even worse than him. that his opponent has no pretense of even trying to act like he doesn’t want to fully be a dictator. stop fucking defending biden. stop fucking downplaying all the horrendous, despicable, evil things he has done and is continuing to do. he is fully funding and supporting and enabling a genocide. it helps no one.
and if/when biden loses, he only has himself to blame.
ideally we would all rally behind a third party candidate and the electoral college wouldn’t exist. ideally these wouldn’t be our “choices”. idfk what to do because trump cannot win but how can any of us in good conscience vote for biden’s evil, fascistic, decrepit ass ??
what makes biden so different from or better than trump? nothing!!
- he is unconditionally supporting netanyahu and his genocide of Palestinians
- democrats have done nothing to protect nor help us as roe v. wade was overturned, we still have student loan debt, the cost of living is unaffordable and the minimum wage remains unchanged, biden has increased police presence and funding for police (more so than in 2020, despite the eruption of BLM protests and the murder of George Floyd and his promise to George Floyd’s family that he wouldn’t let his murder become just another number, another hashtag), and so. much. more.
- biden is building off of trump’s policies - specifically and most recently, biden has just announced an executive order to deny asylum requests. the increase in police funding and the further militarization of police was also built off of trump’s policies
the u.s. is an evil sham of a country.

rule
Hey, Tumblrettes, Tumblrpersons, Tumblrinas? Wtf do we call you, anyways? I'm following the r/196 rule of old by reblogging and just writing "rule" & tagging the word rule & 196 and/or anything else it may be pertaining to. Is this the thing to do so I don't dirty the carpet or stain the couch while I'm here, or?

You know, there are these old archetypes of scary stories that would get retold & bent & morphed, mostly passed by word of mouth through internet boards, during early internet days. My brother, somebody who used such boards, would then tell them to me, somebody very young that didn't know what a computer was.
One such story was one about hotels/motels. It's a story of staying a night or two in such a place, & when you lay your head down, you notice a smell. Maybe you switch out your pillow, or try to wash up, or hunt down some waste that was maybe missed by housekeeping -- nothing fixes it, & the smell persists. Eventually, you figure out where it's coming from -- it's strongest when you're at the bed.
Different versions of the story will wither place the source underneath the bed, or from under the mattress. Either way, the smell is caused by a human corpse hidden in your bed, & you speant the night with it, entirely unaware. Maybe even laid directly over top of it.
Anyways. I just picked Voices of the Void back up, after not seeing it for many updates.

Question for my fellow travelers… if you are staying in an airbnb and happen to open a bedside drawer and see a previous occupant’s lube, do you:
1. Shut the drawer and never speak of it again?
2. Suit up with proper protection and properly dispose of it?
3. Leave a note for the host that they might want to check the drawer and it’s not mine?
4. Some other option I haven’t described (please elaborate)

What a BS take LMAO. Firstly, why would you as a decent person want to consume content that has genocide supporters (especially when celebrities who even hint at supporting basic human rights for Palestinians are dropped immediately, condemned even for sharing just an aid link to help Palestinian children, while Zionists can support a genocide and say the most vile, racist things without any repercussions). Yeah, I’ll boycott these shows so they can learn there are repercussions of being a terrible human being, like why is there even a “hint” of support for Israel when its existence is based on genocide of Palestinians.
“Nothing we’ve reblogged so far has made a significant difference in the world.” What a negative and discouraging thing to say, and SO UNTRUE. You must be living in bubble to not realise that, as an example, all these informative posts and documentation of war crimes turned the tide and shifted the narrative of Israel being the “victim” of Oct 7th. People who were once ignorant suddenly wanted to participate in actively aiding Palestinians, by donating, calling their representatives etc. To major news channels, even governors changing their tune when they saw how huge the people’s support was for Palestine. E-SIMS. I could go on.
A reminder: PALESTINIANS WANT THEIR STORIES TO BE HEARD. THEIR BEAUTIFUL LIVES TO BE REMEMBERED WHEN ISRAEL IS HELL BENT ON ERASING EVERY TRACE OF THEIR EXISTENCE. SO NEVER STOP SHARING. EVEN IF YOU’RE THE ONLY ONE DOING IT.
And Israel is very conscious of their image, why do you think censorship exists. They want you to move on with your life, to become numb to the atrocities. It’s power to be able to control the narrative.
Yeah, obviously don’t just only participate in online activism, do the most you can outside of it. But to imply it’s useless, don’t piss me off.
I feel like. Part of the reason we're seeing hot takes like "video games like Stardew Valley are bourgeoisie and you should feel bad for playing them" and "if any actor in a TV show even hints at supporting any part of Israel then we need to boycott that entire show" and stuff like that is.
Online activism does virtually nothing. It does virtually nothing, guys. You can reblog and repost stuff all day and it does nothing. And so there's this desperate need in people's minds to Do Something, but social media platforms have so thoroughly trapped us into the idea that This Is How You Connect With People, that we think blogging = activism.
But nothing we've reblogged thus far has made a significant difference in the world. So we keep reblogging, desperately, convinced that if we root out the real evil in our media consumption or if we pare down our beliefs to the One True Ideal and force everyone around us to share that ideal, then finally Something Will Change For The Better.
Log off. Go give blood; there's a critical shortage right now. Help someone in your community; it might not fix wars that are thousands of miles away but it'll help that person. Call or email your local representative about issues that matter to you. Fucking vote. Do something in the not-online space. It'll matter more than 100 posts in a row about Important Things.

I mean you could look up the nakba, and realize that colonial nations have no right to exist. Yes that includes Canada and the US and Australia etc...
and yet you only hear this shit about Israel, and not about Canada or US or Australia, with the sole exception of bringing them up whenever anyone accuses you of specifically holding Israel to a double standard not imposed upon the other nations of the world. I'll believe that you mean it with regards to "actually all nations shouldn't exist" when I see it, buddy.
