Sonia and Komaeda getting along well enough to room together is so good honestly. Even if its mostly bc she takes no shit, Komaeda was still like the only person to stand up for her when Teruteru was trying to get frisky about her naiveté in the prologue/ch1.

I kind of suspect she was acting more unknowing than she really was then, to suit her role as a princess, but he had no way of knowing that then. Plus, if she was aware then, it might be easier for her to recognize the side of him that isn't all hope n murder? Since outside of the killing game he's pretty polite (if self effacing) and generally not down for creepy behavior.

If you've got any more thoughts on these two's interactions postgame, I'd love to hear.

do you have any thoughts on zelda not staying as a dragon? me personally I like it and am very cool with it mostly because I think zelda should get to be happy forever (and because I'm smart enough to know she changed back because of recall and not some ambiguous power of love lmao) but a lot of people seem to dislike that it made the draconification inconsequential?

i think there's like. some valid concerns surrounding inconsequentiality/"curing" the physical problems characters have as a way of giving them a "happy ending" but I think those concerns don't necessarily apply to totk in the way people seem to be applying them, especially irt zelda's draconification and link's arm.

most of the time when the criticism of this "magic cure" trope is applied to media, it's because the trope is used as a cure-all to erase a character's suffering or trauma and make them "normal" again, and often ignores the character development or themes of the story in favor of giving the character a happy ending. I don't think that applies to totk, though, because the "curing" link and zelda experience is both within the realm of possibility given the worldbuilding present in the game (recall could easily have done it, as you mentioned) AND thematically consistent with the rest of the game. One of if not the most important central themes of totk is the idea of failure and second chances. we see a hyrule that has been given a second chance after link's initial failure with the calamity brought it to the brink of destruction. we see characters who were deeply unhappy and entrenched in the shame of their precalamity mistakes like purah and zelda become active, beloved members of their communities. we see the people of lurelin village take back and rebuild their destroyed home. we watch this kingdom and its people make an unprecedented comeback after a century of struggle and ruin.

Similarly, totk's gameplay is LINK's second chance, his comeback from the initial mistake of losing zelda, of specifically being unable to reach her with his injured hand when they fell. The consequences of that--the master sword's corruption, the loss of his arm, and zelda's draconification, are all supposed to SEEM irreversible, because that's how LINK initially sees them. he believes that he doomed both himself and zelda all because of that SINGLE moment in which he wasn't enough, a viewpoint which is obviously left over from the pressure he experienced to perform to an impossible standard of perfection pre-calamity. The story of totk is about deconstructing that belief and proving it wrong. the mistake he made caused harm, but it's never too late to repair things. he can fix the regional phenomena ganondorf causes and rebuild those communities. he can revitalize the master sword. he can GET ZELDA BACK, with his own arm, uninjured and able to reach her this time. no matter how impossible those things may initially seem, no matter the perceived finality of his mistakes and their consequences, there is always hope. there is always a second chance. no one person's single mistake can doom an entire kingdom for eternity. the fate of hyrule was NEVER resting on link's shoulders alone. he was never their final hope. there was always going to be an after. the whole POINT of the draconification and the loss of link's arm is that they AREN'T final. they ARE inconsequential, because they were born of one mistake and ONE MISTAKE IS NOT THE END ALL.

yeah i've seen people really mad about what he said on the podcast because now checo's little cult think daniel was crying and not announcing anything for attention as if he's the one who is tweeting leo dicaprio clips?

Yeah I saw a tiktok from a fairly-ish large F1 content creator talking about the podcast and quoting the account/explanation given by Jonathan Noble as fact.

Not once did she highlight that this was unsubstantiated or that other journalists have gone on the record very much in complete disagreement with this version of events - and even when she was challenged in the comments she didn't apologise for misleading her audience or clarify that what was being reported was at best heavily disputed rumour or at worst red bull PR-fed bullshit.

But even more than the tiktok itself, it was the way that this framing was being used (obviously very intentionally by Red Bull) to push blame and scrutiny on to Daniel and his camp for how Singapore played out - AND my goodness was it painfully obvious in the comments.

huge props to marinette for spinning up that lie so fast and on the spot, too. I thought I was good but damn. of course she must have had a general idea of what she was going to say to adrien beforehand going off of gabriel's "make me look good" and her own love telling her that the truth would hurt adrien even more, but that's just a very vague idea. she could not have possibly spun up that entire story of a lie in her head beforehand with all that was going on - dealing with all the truths coming in one after the other, the crying, the emotional trauma, getting the kwamis back -

and of course, there's adrien. he is one of the highest things on her list of priorities, his safety being the first thing she needs to take care of. the problem is, she doesn't know how. the only thing she can do in that situation is lie. a small lie. just one to make it better for now and then she can make it a long-term lie later. make sure no one else finds out.

and once she started telling the lie, once the first words were out of the mouth, it was all improvisation. her next words showed up in her head as she was going, spinning up a believable story, just good enough to be taken as the truth. she rambled - a rookie mistake for liars - but you couldn't blame her. she's a professional liar, almost, with her superhero identity, but this one is different. just one hour after learning the truth she had to cover up all this with no warning beforehand.

she couldn't tell adrien the truth. but she couldn't do much to comfort him either. ladybug couldn't tell him something only marinette knows.

she had to lie. she had to come up with something on the spot. those words would haunt her for the rest of her life - that lie was all she could think about for the next couple of months because she had to make it work. she had to keep the truth and make everything work out. it wasn't a big deal. she just had to tell adrien something, anything that would comfort him! what would comfort him about his father? what would convince him that he was a good guy this whole time? that he was a, a, a hero! yes, she would tell him that. it was a white lie! she wasn't a bad person! she just had to tell adrien that his father was a hero so that he would never have to know the truth and suffer like she did. he was a hero.

was.

once that word came out of her mouth, there was no going back.

i am begging people to stop going “but my sensory issues!!!” on every single post about shaving. it is so frustrating and unhelpful for so many reasons

1. you are making it about yourself. you are contributing to the “what about-ism”. bean souping the post, if you will, by derailing the conversation to turn it to you and your personal preferences

2. i’m being so for real when i say a decent amount of y’all are lying about your supposed unshaven related sensory issues. i’m sure there are some people who genuinely experience sensory issues related to having body hair, but when HUNDREDS of comments on a post are all claiming sensory issues? sensory issues are not just things that bother you, or make you a bit uncomfortable. people with sensory issues have their ENTIRE LIVES affected by them, whether that be foods they can’t eat, materials they can’t wear, noises they can’t be around, whatever. i really feel like the term “sensory issues” has been totally co-opted by neurotypical folks who just mean that a sensation bothers them a bit

3. the staunch refusal to look even a LITTLE BIT deeper into your own personal choices is infuriating. you cry “sensory issues!!” and then don’t think any further than that. it’s completely stunting to any kind of productive conversation surrounding women, body hair, shaving, and beauty standards

4. why do you need the approval from people who don’t shave? why go onto a post about shaving like “b-b-but what about me?? i have SENSORY ISSUES, i HAVE to shave every hair below my eyebrows 🥺 can you please validate me?? can you please tell me i’m still a good feminist?? can you tell me that it’s fine i’m upholding the status quo because of my SENSORY ISSUES that FORCE me to shave??”

y’all act like we’re breaking into your house, stealing your razors, and forcing you to grow out your leg hair at gunpoint. no. all that’s happening is people are saying women shouldn’t be forced to shave their body hair, and yet the people who seem to be most upset about this idea… is other women!

again, i am sure there are people who genuinely have sensory issues that mean they absolutely must shave their body hair. that’s not the issue here. the issue is other women jumping into a conversation about shaving, crying sensory issues (likely from a misunderstanding of what sensory issues actually are) derailing the entire conversation, and preventing any kind of successful discussion

and i just don’t understand why! if you truly, absolutely, 100% shave only for yourself and your comfort, that is fine! but that shouldn’t prevent you from understanding the patriarchal influences around shaving, and encouraging other women to do what they want with their own bodies, including not shaving

but your choices and decisions around shaving don’t exist in a vacuum. i highly doubt anyone in this day and age is deciding to start shaving for themselves. you were influenced by the people around you. be that adults telling you it’s a thing grown women do, be that other people your age starting to shave and you feeling left out, be that being mocked by peers and family members over your (completely natural) body hair

if you shave, that is FINE. that is completely valid. be it because of sensory issues or not. but you don’t need to talk about it! you don’t need to go into the comments on posts about not shaving and make it about how you still choose to shave. you can realize that not everything is about you personally, and most posts about not shaving are a comment on society. you can work on deconstructing your own reasons for shaving (and can still continue to shave after doing so if you want). you can help actually contribute to the conversation about the patriarchal influences behind women and hair removal

just. for the love of god, stop crying “sensory issues!!” on every post about shaving. it’s not that hard

Alright I have to speak about this topic again…

As I said in the other post about the creator and people harassing them… yeah they are mad mad because of the new update.You know? The one where you can’t go on him anymore? Yeah that one. I already made a repost about it which I’m just sad about it. I ain’t gonna stop playing to see him though I’m just gonna say bye from the distance and do the /e wave. He is an introvert so he isn’t gonna be a fan of physical touch and whatnot which I won’t press it on him to continue. It’s the developers idea and stuff so don’t get your panties in a huge twist about it. And no the whole thing with the creators oc and whatnot isn’t Sebastian’s wife or whatever… and if it was a wedding band it’s not gonna stop people from doing their thing. Which the developer knows this, they’re not gonna stop you. Unless you all harass and shit like some of the fandom is doing.

I love Sebastian too, but being sick in the head and hurting the person who created him isn’t gonna make it better for you. It’s going to make you loose that connection and whatnot and eventually we won’t have a game, if it keeps up. You have to be positive and read fanfics or draw like I do and many others as well. Don’t shove it in the develop’s face tho cause it’s just going to annoy them. You can share and then talk amongst yourselves about your ocs and stuff I will gladly see your ships with Sebastian. Yeah it’ll make me hurt, but I won’t hurt you and “flame you” and say you’re incorrect.

It’s sad how I have to say this again… and people still spreading miss information left and right and it’s pissing me the hell off… you all know better.
