"Why does nobody love Spinel" meme by me. I can tell you why, Spinel. You planned on committing mass genocide! And for what? Pink abandoning you? That's still inexcusable!

First things first.
I know, not a very creative name for a blog, but I've been in real deal pain in the past days for being an adult with poor decisions (poor diet, tons of coffee and gastric bypass, results are shocking), and not a native english speaker make creativity not being my forte.
So, Cartoon Network was always great in encouraging new shows and productions, originals. Back in the day, they used to have this segment called Cartoon Cartoons, that was basically one short episode of a new show, about 10 minutes, and depending how the audience responded to it, they started to invest in the new production. The greatest success of Cartoon Network came from this place, such as Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, The Powerpuff Girls, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Ed, Edd n Eddy, tons of others productions, and my favorite Cow and Chicken. Sure, as a cartoon freak, I love all (not Johnny Bravo as much), but something about the nonsense, reference to old cartoons, kept me glazed.
Cow and Chicken (1997-1999, Hanna-Barbera & Cartoon Network)
youtube
Cow and Chicken was a show created by David Fess in 1997 to 1999, with 52 episodes in 4 seasons, Fess is well known for his taste for the nonsense because of other productions that he also participated in, such as Ren & Stimpy.
An 11 year old skinny and tiny chicken, named Chicken is the older brother of Cow, an 7 year old cow over 400 pounds, with "human" parents, living in some suburbia, attending to school as normal kids, but problems finds them through the Red Guy, comical version of the Devil, who has the main focus to drag the siblings to hell, when he remember how. Chicken always tries to protect his sister, not that he wants that, but it's his sister, and usually she ends up saving the day, turning herself to super Cow, a heroine. The support characters are an extra spice to this madness: Mom and Dad, that always said delusional things, and never show anything waist up, only waist down, just like in Tom and Jerry, where the humans never showed waist up, but in one episode we find out that they don't show waist up, because they don't have anything else, no torso, no arms, no faces! Flem and Earl are Chicken's best friends, and both are in love with Cow. Cow's secret identity, super Cow, is a super heroine who is always saving the day, and she is very inspired in Mexican wrestling, she even speaks spanish! And we finally get to Weasel and I.R. Baboon that runs a spinoff in the middle.
By this premisse, we notice that this is not a regular kids show, and maybe that's the reason why it dazzled me in the first place. Not silly situations with the intent of having a great lesson by the end. It's a different kind of comedy, made to amuse, creating ridiculous situations, with real human emotions that are not so noble, such as anger, envy, hate, etc. This show was my first time experiencing that a cartoon doesn't need to be just for kids, it could be anything themed, any age and kinds of audience. Unlimited possibilities!
The Simpsons (1989 - , Fox/Disney)
The American dream! The stereotype of the perfect north american family living in the USA, with a not so perfect life, with not so perfect dreams and desires. The Simpsons is one of the longest TV Shows ever, with more than 30 seasons and still running, it shows us that a good thing, well thinked, well executed can last forever (or almost). This show tells us a story about Marge, Homer, Bart, Lisa and Maggie Simpson, a typical American family, with mess, fights and love. The geniality behind their script is Matt Groening, who was able to run a Comedy TV show that could fit to all ages audiences, with sutil jokes that adults understand and are still fitable to children (with supervision) to watch, because there is no explicit content. It's all about the acuteness, the sutil art of not making everything so clear, and embracing the flaws of being human.
Steven Universe ( 2013-2019, Cartoon Network)
Who would tell, another Cartoon Network production! Created by Rebecca Sugar, Steven Universe is one of those shows that never is enough, and that great things have to end. The premisse is about Steven, a 10 year-old boy raised by 3 women "friends/sisters" with his mother, who died giving him birth. She and her friends are aliens, and as an alien she becomes part of him, half human, half alien. In this context, Steven starts to find out about his mom's past, things that she did, and in the meanwhile, learns how to control his powers and save the earth. Despite it looks like a classic script of the hero's journey, this cartoon goes way deep in emotions, with emotional conflicts, dealing with complex feelings that all of the characters feel and have in this amazing show, enlightening things like feminism, transexuality, different kinds of love, mindfulness, and etc. Along with that, Sugar also writes and produces most of the songs in the show, it's a very musical inclined show, she even sings the end song of the episodes. Add with a stunning aesthetic, that gives this cartoon a very sutil, magical, sensible and still very strong atmosphere. One of my favorite shows of all time. I'm not a person who cries with shows and movies, but this makes some tears drop a few times.
youtube
As you can noticed in the above lines, a good script, unlimited possibilities and aesthetics that can change completely are the most fascinating things for me in the 2D animation world.

i'm not sure
The one thing I’ve ever been sure about in my life is that I love art, the rest has always been iffy.
May 2013, Blue Sky Studio’s Epic releases in theaters.
I am six years old and in first grade. I do Ballet, Tap, and Jazz, I don’t like Ballet, but my mom won’t let me quit. I like to dance and sing and draw and laugh. I watch Powerpuff Girls and Veggietales with my brothers and sister. My favorite colors are pink and purple, because they go together. I like to make cookies with my Mimi in her kitchen and sit next to her by her green chair while we clip coupons in the family room. My sister goes to college at UTA and when I sleepover at her apartment we play on her Wii. I like Donkey Kong, but we play just dance and Wii sports too. It’s cool having a big sister but it’s weird because when we go to the mall people think she’s my mom and nobody at school knows what half-siblings are.
August 14, 2014, Robin Williams passes away.
I am eight years old in third grade when I first experience death. I walk out of my room on a Monday morning and see my cousin in the hallway. I don’t know why I’m not in school yet but I’m not one to complain. Later my parents pull me into their bedroom and sit me down on their bed. When they tell me, I feel something guttural escape me. I block out most of my memories from that week. In the limo after the service, my aunt pores over a small gold cross, Jesus stretched across it. I don’t go back to school for the next few days, but when I do, I do not feel welcome. All I want to do is look away and stare into space, but the moment I enter I see the check in board. Absent – Grandmother passed away. Immediately I am bombarded with questions from people who I was sure hated me. I feel sick. I spend the next three months isolating myself in the counselor’s office.
November 3, 2016, Donald Trump is elected president.
I am ten years old in fifth grade when my “best friend” tells me she hopes Donald Trump wins the election. When I ask her why she says it’s because of the economy. But what about the horrible things he says about women and minorities?
“Well obviously I don’t support that part.”
If it’s obvious, why do you have to say it? And how do you value economics over people’s lives? How can you live with yourself when you do that? I don’t understand, but I have to stay her friend, it’s not like I have anyone else.
June 28, 2019, the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots is celebrated.
I am thirteen and just finished seventh grade , and I think I like my friend. We met in theater and she’s cool and effortless and funny, but most importantly, she doesn’t think I’m weird, finally, somebody doesn’t think I’m weird. I want to tell her, but I also want to never see her again, so I won’t have to.
March 11, 2020, the WHO declares COVID-19 a pandemic.
I am thirteen years old in eighth grade and my birthday is in seven days. My boyfriend just broke up with me and when he tells me why it doesn’t sound like the whole truth. It seems like the worst week of my life. No birthday party because it’s spring break, everyone else is at home because of this “COVID” thing, and lately I just feel empty. I call up my friend Mabel to see if they can come over, and we drown out the pain with green splat hair dye and bad pop punk.
By the end of 2020, 44 trans people are murdered in the United States.
I am fourteen years old in my freshman year and as I open my phone, I see more notifications pop up in 10 minutes than I think I’ve ever had in my life. A barrage of apologies, condolences, sympathy. I’ve never talked to this one girl, I think she’s new, but somehow, she has my number. I’m not complaining, but I never would have thought these people would have cared about transphobia. I never would have thought these people would have cared about me. Weirdly, the same people telling me how bad they feel that someone called me that word are the same people whose friends still say it.
July 2022, Rep. Glenn Thompson attends his gay son’s wedding days after voting against legal codification of protections for same sex marriage.
I am seventeen years old in my junior year and I am excited for the future. I am scared but, for once, I have friends, a passion, and will. I plan to double major in psychology or adolescent psychology and women’s, gender, and sexuality studies, with a minor in Spanish. I want to work in counseling at an LGBTQ+ youth nonprofit. I want to help other people cope with what I am feeling right now. With college, I mostly worry about free time and art, depression, burnout, and money. I can feel the burnout coming soon and I’m going to take a gap year, but I’ll have to work full time, then keep working at least part time during school. I’m sure I’ll make time for art somewhere – I don’t know if I could live without it. It’s brought me to nearly every friend I’ve ever made and taught me how to be a person.

Top 11 Worst Cartoons of the 2010′s!!
We had so many great cartoons introduced in this decade and while I haven't seen every last one I can say this decade was one of the best for animation in general! Sadly for every good animated show produced in this era there are also some bad apples in the bunch the following cartoons are some of the worst I have seen but please remember this is only my opinion if you like any of these shows then that's great continue to enjoy them don't let me stop you!!!
Now let's get this list started!!!
11. Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs the series (2017-2018)
Ok before we talk about the show I want to make one thing clear I don't hate the films in fact I actually find them enjoyable even going as far as calling them guilty pleasures the show on the other hand is a huge flop compared to the movies were the films had creativity and fun humor the show lacks that in fact this is by far the most boring show to be based on a freaking film about an invention that makes it rain food!! The other problem I have with this show is it's set before the events of the films so Flint hasn't even become an inventor yet but instead it's about him in high school and apparently him and Sam knew each other already did they even watch their first film!? Also the mayor is the principle because why not seriously this has got to be the worst show based on a hit animated film it's so painfully unfunny that I question how kids found it entertaining to begin with!!!! Not every movie needs a tv series and this one proves it!
10. Total Dramarama (2018-ongoing)
Oh the pain to see the Total Drama series downgraded to this especially since the original Total Drama Island took a ton of risk for a show aimed at kids also how did we go from a series that spoofed reality shows to a bad Muppet Babies rip-off!! What's really sad is that creators have no desire to produce a new Total Drama series they just want to work on this. On the plus side it's still not as bad as other shows your going to see later on the list.
9. Super Noobs (2015-ongoing)
Other then the "how do you do fellow kids" title I wasn't expecting this show to wow me considering it was brought to you by the same dude that brought us Johnny Test aka the original most hated cartoon of all time I got the DA pics to back me up! The worst part is this show has a very interesting concept but it's ruined due to the bad humor and characters. The show is about a group of outcast middle schoolers who receive super powers in the form of power balls from aliens who then become their mentors and how they must save the world from an evil virus that threatens the world sounds like an awesome plot too bad it's not pushed further.
8. Almost Naked Animals (2011-2013)
Yes this is a children's cartoon not a title for an X rated film. All I can say about this show is why? Why would anyone greenlight a show about an animal nudist hotel not only is it disgusting but those character designs yikes!!!! They look so ugly looking no one wants to see something that looks this hideous!! Not to mention the humor is just as terrible as the art design.
7. Breadwinners (2014-2016)
You know when you feature twerking in your show you automatically fail. The best way I can describe this cartoon is it's just awful first off the two idiot main characters who I'm not going to refer by name since they are some of the most stupidest names for characters seriously SwaySway and Buhdeuce!? Anyway the show is about these two "ducks" I say ducks like that since they look nothing like ducks they look like frogs or aliens or something. Try to make your character if they are an animal try to look as close as possible as the species they're supposed to be so it will make it easier for you audience to identify them. Well they fly around in a rocket car or something I really don't care and deliver bread to stock-image ducks which brings me to another problem they can't even draw background characters they just go on Google find a duck photo and photoshop cartoon eyes and whatever on it how lazy a can you be!! Also I found out a long time ago your actually not supposed to give ducks bread yeah it can use malnutrition and illness to them so this cartoon is spreading the wrong message to kids.
6. Brickleberry (2012-2015)
You know why I despise most adult cartoons because most of them are either trying way to hard to be quote on quote "adult" with overuse of swearing, gore, shock humor, and sex jokes and guess what this show is full of this!! Not only is the animation similar to that to Family Guy it's just as disgusting and offensive!!! The show revolves around these park rangers and their everyday lives at their jobs and the characters aren't very good either they are pretty much all assholes, stereotypes of usual characters you see in adult animation, and your typical characters that are just there to offend you! In fact the little bear cub character is pretty much the shows answer to Brain from Family Guy with the personality of Cartman from South Park. Now I haven't seen this show in a long time but I just remember it wasn't a pleasant experience if you want to check it out just be warned it's not for the faint of heart. Also the creators of this show produced another show for Netflix that is just a carbon copy with cops instead of rangers and I though that Seth McFarlane was lazy when it came to plots!! It's called Paradise P.D. btw
5. Teen Titians Go! (2013-Ongoing)
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah you've heard it all before this show is garbage, a disgrace to DC comics, stupid etc. The animation community has tore this show apart so there really isn't much to say that already hasn't been said but I will say this I never intended to hate this show as much as I do in fact I was fine with it when it fist came out I mean the original Teen Titians cartoon from 2003 will always be better then this show in every possible way but I wasn't one of the fans to jump on the hate wagon when this was announced I mean I had nothing wrong with it just focusing on comedy if you remember correctly the original had eps that were just as silly and bizarre. The main reasons why this show is so high up on this list is for the following reasons the first is I've never seen a show like this disrespect a fan base this much it's like the creators have it out for the original fans and they get joy out of mocking them with all these pathetic critic call out eps they do it also shows that they can't take criticism at all!!!! Second is how the creators view their show and animation in general they literally came out in an interview and said the reason why they made the show so stupid is because it's for children you do know kids aren't stupid right guys they deserve shows that don't try to talk down to them!!!! But the main reason for my anger towards this show is how they made an episode awhile were the moral literally was that cartoons are only for kids and told the original fans to grow up!! Mainly the creators themselves have this warped mindset that I honestly wish would just die out that only children should be allowed to watch cartoons and that their show should be immune to all the hate since it's for kids so they use the "just for kids" excuse for their show being like it is. It's hard to believe they would even have a mindset like that when they are adults themselves making an animated cartoon show. I didn't mean to rant this long but I mainly hate everything this show stands for and sadly it's going onto to get 300+ eps. Personality I really think it's time for this show to officially Go not because I don't like it's mainly because it's showing signs it's on it's last legs and with that Sixth Titian thing they pulled this summer and repeating episode plots is starting to show that the writers are becoming burned out this show was never good but I think it's time it ended. There are tons of other reasons this show is bad but I rather not go into them this has gone on long enough already.
4. PPG 2016 (2016-Ongoing)
Well TTG isn't the worst reboot/spinoff Cartoon Network produced in this decade the honor has to go to this piece of trash Powerpuff Girls 2016!! Why was this made simple CN wanted more money so they made this show to sell toys yes that was the only purpose of this reboot to sell merchandise too bad the show sucked so hard that the target demo along with the fans of the original Powerpuff Girls hated it! There are tons of problems with this reboot that have already been explained such as god awful animation errors, bad writing, and let's not forget the memes those outdated memes. Not to mention they removed the character Ms. Bellum since the creator thought that having a beautiful, warm-hearted, motherly, intelligent and strong-willed woman on the show was offensive to the new generation! Not to mention they got rid of breast but they did allow the girls to twerk tho!!! Yes because having an intelligent good-looking woman with boobs is bad but kindergarteners doing a sexually explicate dance is fine!! Seriously I feel so bad for Craig McCracken it was bad enough he was screwed over by Disney but to have his show turned into this!!
3. The Problem Solverz (2011-2013)
If you want to know my opinion for the worst animated show Cartoon Network has ever made it would be this one! Not only is the show ugly to look at but it uses enough bright colors to make your eyes bleed. The show is about these detectives who solve problems in their home town too bad they cause 90% of the problems they need to solve. These characters are so nasty to look out we got this ugly fish-like man, some robot, and a big nosed hideous lipped Domo wannabe. It was cancelled from tv but ran it's final season on Netflix. I still feel pain for any child that had to sit though this.
2. Pickle and Peanut (2015-2018)
Ugh this show!!!! If you've never seen it you may guess this would be something on Adult Swims line up since they're more known for wired shows like this but no it's not from Adult Swim in fact you'll never believe who made this Disney!!! Yes Disney Television Animation produced this the very same company that bought us shows like Gravity Falls, Phineas and Ferb, Star Vs. and so on made this garbage. There are several problems with this show first off the animation remember when I said that Breadwinners was lazy for using stock-images as background characters well this is the same damn thing but in reverse they couldn't even animate a pickle and a gosh darn peanut this is a peeve I have with most modern cartoons if it's not for a joke then why use stock-images it just makes your show look lazy! Second the humor it sucks it's mainly is "trying" to be Regular Show since both characters are slackers and get into bizarre adventures. Also this show loves to show gross-out shots like the ones in Spongebob for example but unlike Spongebob these are not funny and just plain disgusting like how is this show fun for kids to watch I mean I can understand why kids love cartoons like TTG but I can't see any child liking a show like this!!! Finally we have to talk about the god awful theme song it's not even a theme song but a random robot voice listing off things adults think that children are into so pretty much they're trying way too hard to appeal to kids just like with PPG 2016. There really isn't much more to say about this show it's just awful and it's still hard to believe Disney had a part in making this.
Now it's time for the cartoon from the 2010's that I believe disserves the crown as the worst show from this decade. Out of all the shows I've seen this year none of them of completely disgusted me more then this one it pretty much has everything I despise in modern adult animation it makes Brickleberry look tame in comparison!!! It comes to us from our friends at Adult Swim may I present to you the cartoon that I consider the worst!
1. Mr. Pickles (2013-Ungoing)
I honestly don't know where to start on this one it's just god awful!! First it's got all the things I despise in adult animation shock humor, sex jokes, violence for the sake of it, and ugly character designs!! The show is about a family who owns a dog who is either the devil himself or one of his loyal followers and the dog does extremely messed up things to people stuff I rather not try to remember let's just say this show is MA for reason. If you have a faint heart please stay away from this show at all cost!!!
So there it is my opinions for the worst shows from this decade I hope you all enjoy it since I worked really hard on it.
I didn’t include Big Mouth or Paradise P.D. because I’ve never seen them but yeah I know they’re bad.

It’s the end of the 2010s Here’s some events i cherish, cry and some I wish I could forget!
2010- The 7.0 Haiti Earthquake caused massive devastation killing over 300,000 people and billions of dollars in damages. Easy A and Zombieland (I know it came out in 2009 but I first saw it in 2010) what a great time to be a Emma Stone fan! Blockbuster files for bankruptcy it was the end of an era for all video stores! The one that was right next to me for years is now a laundromat breaks my heart everytime I drive by there.
2011- The end of the Harry Potter franchise, my childhood heart!!! I think we can all agree after Jack and Jill Adam Sandler stopped trying, such a shame and he made me appreciate golf. Osama Bin Ladin is killed!
2012- The world didn’t end! The Sandy Hook shooting just 11 days before Christmas which over a dozen children and several adults would never get to celebrate with their loved ones again! Gun control has not changed since then, not even Congress was moved by Obama’s pleads and tears!
2013- Frozen breaks Disney records!! No I will not Let It Go! The death of Nelson Mandela. Rick and Morty airs and has taken over adult swim! Attack on Titan airs god I love anime, for awhile I thought wtf some kind of sick twisted version of Jack and the bean stalk?! Teen Titans Go was big a F*** You to my childhood Teen Titans!
2014- We lost an acting legend one who made us laugh and cry for so many years. “Genie, you’re free” We love you Robin Williams! The Ice Bucket Challenge was fun but a total waste of water. Korrasami is canon and breaks boundaries!
2015- Dragon Ball is back i fell in love with Beerus and Whis and I missed Vegeta! Short to say, GT never existed. Same sex marriage is legalized nation wide! A new Star Wars saga begins shouldn’t really be surprised it happens every 10 years or so but hey we finally got a female lead protagonist! I still can’t get Adele’s Hello outta my head and I don’t want to! MK X man I haven’t played an mk game since the second one I think!
2016- Leo DiCaprio wins his very first Oscar for best actor in The Revenant! The Orlando nightclub shooting was an act of hate against the LGBT community! WWHHHYYYYYY?!?!?! I got my first tattoo!
2017- Hugh Jackman’s last year as Wolverine aka Logan leaves us heartbroken yet honored, as a matter of fact the first time I saw his first X men movie was the first time I used a dvd! Man how time flies! I vow never to work in the fast food industry again! IT is better than the original don’t try to convince me otherwise I loved Tim Curry but the way Bill Skarsgard made the clown interact. That smile and lazy eye movement which were not CGI related, goosebumps for life there! I got another dog!
2018- Marvel’s Spider Man game best one since Spider Man 2! Stephen Hawking and Stan Lee pass away! “Mr. Stark I don’t feel so good”. Spider Man: Into The Spider-Verse. Yup it was hell of a year for Spider Man. Got my second tattoo. Spongebob creator Stephen McDannell Hillenburg passes away. Thank you Stephen for giving us such a loveable annoying relatable cartoon. Retro portable game stations like Atari and PlayStation are released!
2019- The long awaited Frozen 2 breaks records again! Screw that live action cgi emotionless Lion King remake! Yeah as you can tell I’m a big Frozen fan and proud of it! Toy Story 4 another part of my childhood ending. A lot of franchises ending or ended, Game Of Thrones, Star Wars, The Avengers, X Men, The Big Bang Theory, I’m not ready for Modern Family and Attack on Titan to end next year! Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker will go down in Joker history!! DC’s arrowverse Crisis on Infinite Earths is going to be the biggest crossover! Dyed my hair for the first time. Trump impeached!
Short list of what I’m looking forward to next year. The Last Of Us part 2, GTA 6 trailer hopefully, it’s the longest wait we’ve ever had for a new gta game, a new president, Frozen 2 on blu ray and a different position at work.

For the film ask game: multiples of 5 :)
5. What’s the very first film you remember watching? i remember my family watching sleepy hollow (1999) as soon as it was out to rent, that can be one of the earliest ones. or elvira (1988) too, i saw it on tv and i must have been 5 or so! i’m not sure. first one at the movie theater was the powerpuff girls (2002) lolll.
10. What’s your favourite movie director? there are a lot of directors that have a v strong voice that i enjoy. it’s been a while since i went through someones filmography and i’ve been doing that with rollin and it’s been a lot of fun.
15. A film everyone loves but you hate? theres a lot i don’t even really hate but just don’t find interesting or inspiring in any way.. if i have to say a popular one then something like ‘her’ (2013). meh.
20. Old movies or contemporary movies? i want to say it depends but really i feel so much better watching an older movie, it’s just comforting to me. late 20s/early 30s movies have a different sound that no contemporary movie can recreate. late 30s/early 40s movies can have a very long heavy script but still keep a 80/90min runtime bc it’s all so fast paced and just.. great. 70s movies Look Like That. idk, it’s what i’m into!

Reboots: They’re for who?
When I was interning a handful of summers ago, I remember talking with a handful of editors and peers about our favorite comic to television adaptations. I said honestly that I am not a fan of Teen Titans Go because I don’t think it has a lot of substance when compared to Teen Titans or Young Justice. It’s a problem I have with a lot of reboots, and I remember distinctly one of the editors saying that reboots “aren’t for you.” That’s a fair statement, they’re not for me specifically, they’re for... who exactly?
What the editor meant, I believe, is that a reboot isn’t really for the original fans of a series. It’s for a new generation to experience the characters and become fans. The characters we see from one show to another are kind of like reincarnated versions--they may have similar names and art styles but, the characters are kind of new because their stories are new. I think that this is often correct. However, I want to disagree a little with the idea that reboots aren’t aimed for older fans. Good reboots should have something that the older fans can enjoy too. I say this because clearly reboots in some ways market to the audience that watched the previous iteration(s), sort of like a big sign saying, “Hey, remember this show you loved as a kid? The one that we sold a lot of for a long time? Yeah? Great! Why don’t you check out our new version and show it to your kids/younger siblings/others?!” Their’s nothing really wrong with that, its an effective sales/marketing strategy, but for it to work the new iteration needs to have something old fans will appreciate.
A great example is My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic - the series takes the older characters, characters that fans of the previous iterations have loved for a long time, and translates them to the current climate of television, allowing for a new generation of fans to fall in love with the characters. The new show still holds some elements of the underlying message that the original show or stories held. What I mean is that My Little Pony has always focused on friendships and what it means to be a good friend; this message has carried on over the years to what we see today. The old fans can appreciate that the morals or backbone of the show are still there and the new fans can fall in love with these reborn-characters on their own.
I remember watching the vintage version of MLP on youtube in middle school and loving it. When the new version came out around my junior year of high school, I never quite got into the show again, but when my nieces started watching it, I had no problem enjoying episodes in passing. The same thing happened in college when many of my friends liked binge-watching seasons of it on Netflix. While I still wasn’t a die-hard fan again, I enjoyed that the friendship elements were still there and felt comforted that my nieces not only enjoyed a collection of characters I had loved previously but also by the fact that the show was still teaching aspects of how to be a good friend and responsible individual. MLP FIM is a perfect example, to me, of what a reboot should be. It’s easy to merchandise to new and old fans (which the company producing it will like), it’s still got the elements needed for the nostalgic appreciation and a revival of the fandom in older viewers, and it provides something a new generation can enjoy. If I’m babysitting and my nieces and they say let’s watch it, I’m 100% down for the reasons stated above.
Now let’s look at shows like Teen Titans Go from 2013, or The Powerpuff Girls 2016. Are the shows merchandisable, of course--but do they hold true to the same values that we saw in the originals? I would say, No.
Teen Titans was a beloved show. We saw a mix of comedy and adventure expected of a story with teen superheroes, but we also saw some serious elements befitting characters who are transitioning between childhood and adulthood-for all intents and purposes-alone. They’re, in many ways, outcasts who are bound together by their friendship and a mission to protect the planet from harm. Their episodes are memorable and often have a deeper underlying message. In many ways, the show begins with an examination of crime, and the adult world at large, as being one of black-and-white. It’s how children often see the world, but as the series progress or even single episodes, characters learn that there is a lot more grey area and nuances than we previously thought or understood.
Like, I remember the episode “Sum of His Parts” where Cyborg confronts, not for the last time, challenges with his disability as a half-man, half-machine individual. While the robotic parts give him great abilities most of the time, there are situations where they become more of a hindrance than helpful. It was a meaningful episode that allows us to see that despite having a cool robotic exterior, and the name “Cyborg,” the character himself is a human being with complex emotions that will not always show on his face or in his interactions with others. When I first saw the episode, I remember Cyborg’s last line, “I am just like you, but it’s not your arm that makes us the same, its the stuff that’s connected to it.” It reflects a lot about the character and the emotions he has, as well as stating something about image and what’s inside. While I don’t have a robotic arm, I felt like a part of me was reflected in his character in that episode because I have insecurities (everyone does), and while I sometimes hide them well it doesn’t mean they aren’t there. I also remember the episode “Troq,” in which Starfire faces racism. She and her team (once they are informed of how she is being treated) must set aside their anger for the greater good. It’s a difficult episode for many reasons, the most important of which is that 1. Racism still exists and is something people must fight against 2. Sometimes you have to work with your enemy to prevent a greater evil from taking place. Both are difficult to accept, especially as children, but they’re realities of our world. As I get older, both seem to become more prevalent in my life, particularly the later as sometimes you have to work with awful people to get a job done. Even the former though is something I’ve had to see and face in life.
The original Powerpuff Girls, likewise to TT, had memorable episodes not so much for their imagery but for their stories. For example, “Equal Fights” is an episode I may never forget. In it, a female thief behaving like a radical who hates men points out to the PPGs that women have suffered a lot in history and uses this as an excuse for her behavior. It seems almost justified as retribution against the patriarchy for how women have suffered, at least, until the PPGs’ primary female role-models step to remind the girls and the audience that two wrongs don’t make a right. The common theme with these memorable episodes in these memorable shows is that we, the audience, should learn something from the presented morals and ideas. They encourage us to think more about our situations and our autonomy in society.
Overall, these shows attempted to help children navigate the difficult world around them--that is what made them beloved by their audience. Perhaps the greatest proof of this is that new shows that have gained popularity today seem to continue this message of helping youth transition into thoughtful adults - like, Steven Universe.
However, some of the reboots seemed to have missed this point entirely. Rather than aiming to create an encouraging message for kids, they instead aim to briefly entertain--like a meme. The episodes aren’t memorable, not really. I think the most memorable thing I’ve seen from Teen Titans Go is "Let's Get Serious!" where Young Justice characters make a unique appearance. Aqualad critiques the Teen Titan Team about their ridiculousness and, in all, a very meta-episode in which the end leads us to believe that Teen Titans Go is just supposed to be a joke and we shouldn’t be so serious all the time about a children’s show. Ha Ha. (Let that sarcastic laugh sink in.)
I don’t have kids (yet), but I have nieces and nephews that I care about--and I know how easily kids can be led astray or tricked. Hell--I remember being a kid and how easily adults could manipulate me and my peers simply because they hold the authority. Adults can be manipulated too, I mean look at the Milgram Experiment. So when I look at these poorer reboots and see nothing of substance, when I look and see things that seem to encourage stupidity and lack of thought, I don’t feel like letting them watch the show because some of them aren’t old enough to understand that Beast Boy’s inability to open a textbook is supposed to be a joke. Particularly when he “saves the day” at the end. Sure, I can laugh at it, because I can see it as a joke, but one of my nephews might see a cool and funny superhero shoving a banana into his ear and think “that’s funny, I’ll do it too to make someone laugh” and end up with an ear infection (which is something a friend of mine’s little brother actually did).
In the case of Teen Titans Go, perhaps the creators really do intend for it all to be a joke, like a subversion of the original’s message(s). But then that, to me, is evidence that these are not truly marketed to a new generation of viewers--it’s marketed to the adults that watched the show previously. The joke is that the series is meant to be a form of high comedy with low comedy dialogue (if you don’t know what high comedy and low comedy are, please see here: https://www.enotes.com/homework-help/tell-me-about-origins-comedy-whats-difference-276012). If it is, in fact, not for the older audience, but to a growing generation, then I don’t think the joke is a good one because in some cases it insults the audience’s intelligence and in others overestimates the still-developing cognitive abilities of some viewers.
If TTG is for the former audience, I can appreciate it as a joke. I mean that sincerely, as I’ve found a handful of episodes to be funny and enjoyable. However, I would not recommend the show to kids.
As for I’ve seen some of PPG 2016, I can’t remember anything story-wise, only a collection of meme-like images, like the girls twerking. It’s, again, a show I wouldn’t want kids watching simply because it doesn’t seem to have any value--even from a comedic standpoint.
Of the reboots I’m mentioning, there are many more.
In conclusion, I think that good reboots are intended to be primarily for a new generation of viewers but also hold something that a majority of the previous iteration(s)’s audience(s) can appreciate or even love. Bad reboots focus on the “instant gratification” of entertainment and seem to ignore part of what made the originals so great. They seem to be created for meme-like instant laughs, not memorable content. That seems like a flaw to me but clearly works as a selling point for some shows. Of the two reboot examples I gave, TTG continues. Why? Probably because it holds comedic value to an older audience while providing content that’s not entirely unstable for kids to see. PPG, though, struggled with its release because it didn’t really have value to the older audience that formerly loved the show and relied to much on instant comedy to create a storyline that would keep a younger audience interested.
Essentially, TTG assumes that the new audience is smart enough to understand that the Teen Titan team is acting stupid. It likewise creates comedy that the older audience can laugh at. TTG will never have the same level of appreciation for storytelling that it’s original once provided, but it’s not intending to. PPG’s creators may have had similar intentions, but didn’t fulfill.

Cartoon Network has already entered the dork age
It’s hard for me to explain but it saddens me to say this,Cartoon Network is already in its dork age because it focus more on comedy and less on action and adventure cartoons especially when they ‘reboot’ old action/adventure’ shows into funny ones.
You see it happened after the end of the CN real era when Turner broadcast reorganize the whole executive staff and replace with a new one led by Christine Miller,Then in 2013 When the DC nation block aired ,Teen Titans go a funny spin off of 2003 Teen titans appeared ,A year after the block ended,Teen Titans go still remained on the channel and It has been a long running show ever since and also release an upcoming movie ,But it gain mixed reception from critics and received bad reception from fans of the original Teen Titans series because of its crude humour and is considered a bad role model for children according to older viewers though the children liked the show which is why it was still long running.
Then in 2016 the reboot of the Powerpuff girls aired ,It was like the original except it focus on slice of life and less on crime fighting especially that it is hated by fans of the original series and is notorious for its off model facial expressions and the expired memes according to most people.
The same year Ben 10 is rebooted and even though it has some action scenes it is more comedy oriented and only runs for 11 minutes like current cartoon network shows unlike the original which balance both comedy and action and runs for 24 minutes.
The two reboots which air is boomerang (cartoon networks sister channel which will soon be rebranded as a streaming channel) are Be cool scooby doo? (which is considered a more funny light toned version of Scooby doo) and Wacky races (2017) which is a reboot of wacky races but is more character driven and less on racing unlike the original where it has more racing.
And now this year there is another “reboot” of thundercats which is also comedy driven by the same animation studio that made Teen Titans Go Warner Bros. Animation and will air on 2019 centered and it's called thundercats Roar! ,The creator of the show victor courtright who is considered a fan of the original thundercats series says that the show will be a comedy series but will have some action included but i think that it like a copycat of OK K.O ,Mighty Magiswords and wander over yonder combined.
So what I am writing this topic is to sadly confirm that Cartoon Network has reached the dork age because it just rarely focus more on 11 minute shorts and comedy rather that other channels which air cartoons which balance action, adventure and comedy and attract both older and younger audience.
And seeing that cartoon network air these type of shows,I think there are many reasons for this,It can be used for as a merchandising strategy for older shows to promote their toy sales and the executives of this network are using this strategy to attract younger audience while unknown to them the older fans don’t like it as they could have made original shows and reboots aimed for both ages and they no longer want to air action cartoons since they might be considered too violent.
I mean if cartoon Network keeps doing this type of reboot strategy with warner bros animation it will go something like this,
Transformers will receive a comedic spinoff about the misadventures battle with the autobots and the decepticons
Gi Joe will receive a funny spin off probably in a style of funny caricatures of chibi like forms similar to the style of TMNT team up nickelodeon shorts where it will be a parody of 80s pop culture between the joes and cobra through daily routines.
(note Gi joe and Transformers are owned by hasbro and will probably air them on other channels rather than cartoon network)
Swat Kats will be revived as a funny furry cartoon involving the misadventures between the swat kats and the villains.which will look something like this like the one made by a tumblr artist:
Street sharks even though its forgotten will end up something like this like the one made by a tumblr artist :
Samurai jack (even though the main ones finally gains its conclusion) will end up like this :
TMNT :Team Up! A comedic version of the 1987 turtles but it will be expanded to 11 minutes when it airs on cartoon network :
He-man will be revived as a parody of the 1980s cartoon while poking fun at pop culture which will be something like this made by a tumblr artist:
Sonic the hedgehog which will end up something like this which is drawn by a deviantart artist:
Even though sonic boom was like this on cartoon network but got better though it will likely be cancelled.
Yogi bear will be revived and be funny like its predecessor but worse like Yo Yogi! Though it will be probably air only on boomerang
And more!
So If cartoon network keeps focusing more on comedy and more on 11 minute reboots,Then I fear that the channel will truly get worse and will be stuck in the dork age
Unless Infinity train which will likely be mystery oriented which will be balanced with humor similar to gravity falls and likely be 24 minutes will change all that and help the channel be retooled and will likely receive its second renaissance by airing cartoons which balance humour with action and adventure similar to what disney channel is doing now or maybe get some new executive staff to retool the channel but make it air 24 minute cartoons as well like the rest of the channel and streaming ones even though the channel wants to aim for the streaming business.

Your Name, Age (18+), Pronouns & Timezone: mars, 23, cdt, she/her
Deborah Marin Baker turned 24 years old on December 4th. She works at the makeup counter in a department store in Greensville. Her face claim is Maude Apatow.
Admin note: The usual from here! Send in her account, wait for her follow link to go up, and you’re all set! Everyone else, make sure to take a look below at Deborah’s wanted connections :)
Bio (10+ sentences, include brief history, personality, potential plots):
TW: death and cancer
Deborah Marin Baker was born in Columbus, Ohio to Charles and Anne Baker. She was the couple’s very first child and, as fate was to have it that 4th of December in 1996, she was also the last. Anne, unfortunately, died during childbirth leaving Charlie to raise Debbie by himself. Unprepared to do so and heartbroken over the loss of his wife, he moved back to his hometown in Greensville to live with his mother so she could help him raise the beautiful blue-eyed baby Anne had left behind.
A few years into them living in Greensville, when Debbie was 4 years old, her grandmother passed away, leaving Charlie, once again, alone with his one and only daughter. She had died during sleep, he had said. She hadn’t suffered and she was in a better place now. By that point in her life, Debbie hadn’t fully understood what death meant and why people said they went to a “better place” when they ceased to breathe in this world. What was this better place? Would she be able to visit it one day? Talk to her grandma again? Charlie had no answers for his little girl – no concrete ones, at least – so he’d just hold her close and try his best to keep her the happy child she was growing up to be.
Debbie was what you could call a free spirit. She had been ever since she was a kid; always jumping from one thing to the next and from one hobby to another without a care in the world. Despite being close a few times, Charlie never remarried, and so it was him and Debbie against the world. He was her everything; her best friend, her confidante, and the only person in this world she knew she could count on. He was also obsessed with the paranormal; an obsession that he quickly passed on to her when she was young. They would spend most of the time they had together watching ghost hunting shows, documentaries about haunted places all over the world and horror movies. This was how they bonded. Charlie even had his own little group of friends with whom he investigated seemingly haunted places.
But then Charlie got sick. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that was rapidly spreading, and they, unfortunately, didn’t have enough money to pay for the treatment. It was only a matter of time before he passed away, and so Debbie tried her very hardest to keep him happy in his last few years. He finally passed in 2013, when Debbie was 17, and they remained the closest they could be until the very end.
When he died, Debbie inherited everything: the house, his beat-up truck, old family jewels her grandmother had left him when she died, and his ghost hunting equipment. She decided that she wanted to do what he did – even if it was just for fun – and investigate places around Greensville that were (apparently) haunted. She wanted proof that there was something after death, that ghosts were real, and that maybe, just maybe, her dad was still around. She talked to him anyway, every night before she went to sleep. She’s not sure if he’s listening or if he’s even there, but she likes to think that he is. In the years she has been doing this, Debbie is yet to see or hear a ghost, but she is hopeful that she will one day and that she could make this a career for herself.
Have you read the rules?: removed
In the event that you leave, can we keep your biography for future use? nope.
Any comments/questions?: nada.
Potential/wanted connections:
Best friend/close friend (also kind of frenemies, but I’ll explain): This would be someone her ex cheated on her with. Debbie’s ex, Ben, was very good to her for the first 3 years of their relationship, and then when they went off to college (and after her dad passed away, which in horror movies is always code for: CHEAT ON ME), he slept with her entire feminist studies class. This would be someone from that class who would maybe start out not liking Debbie because she’s annoying and doesn’t take a hint (re: is persistent and LIKES making friends) but then they’d grow to like her (or not! maybe a little!) I like to imagine it’s, like, a sunshine character & grumpy character kind of thing, but it doesn’t have to be. Debbie kept dragging them out everywhere and pairing up with them in class, even though she knew her ex cheated on her with them, she was like “I don’t see why we can’t be friends. Clearly we have something in common if Ben liked us both.”
Childhood friend: I like to think that because of the way Debbie is, she wasn’t very popular when she was in school. She was the kid that dressed up REALLY SCARY on Halloween while all her classmates dressed up as the powerpuff girls or their favorite superhero, and who talked about creepy stuff all the time, who was loud and VERY ANNOYING. This would be someone who saw Debbie for who she was and was like “Hey, you know what? You’re kinda cool.” They don’t HAVE to be friends anymore– this could also be someone she had a falling out with in middle school, or in high school, someone she doesn’t talk to anymore but still has some kind of connection with. or maybe they’re still very close, I don’t know!
Ex-bully: I don’t imagine now that Debbie is 24 that she still has a bully, so this would be someone who USED to bully her in school, and Debbie still holds a grudge against them. Like, if she discovered an actual ghost, she would tell them to haunt your character, you know? And Debbie’s a nice person, but this is someone she truly cannot stand. Hates them with a PASSION. Even though it’s been years, even though they’ve probably changed, Debbie still thinks they’re the worst and will not give them a chance to prove they’ve changed. It is very out of character for her to hate someone, but she hates your character, I’m sorry, not everyone can be friends.

February may be the shortest month, but that doesn’t mean streaming services can ignore their duty to entertain us at all times. In that mission, Netflix is making a decent effort in February 2021. This isn’t the most jam-packed month the major streamer has trotted out just yet but there are plenty of new originals to get the job done.

Netflix has a few original series of note this month. The party begins with Kid Cosmic on Feb. 2. This animated series is a comic-tinged adventure from Craig McCracken, creator of the Powerpuff Girls. That’s followed by the Sarah Chalke and Katherine Heigl-starring Firefly Lane on Feb. 3 and Behind Her Eyes on Feb. 17. Perhaps the biggest sleeper this month, however, is Tribes of Europa. This post-apocalyptic adventure series premieres on Feb. 19.
There are also quite a few intriguing Netflix original movies in February 2021. Malcolm and Marie stars John David Washington and Zendaya and premieres on Feb. 5. The Crew on Feb. 15 and I Care A Lot on Feb. 19 provide two different flavors of comedy. Then on Feb. 12, Netflix continues its young rom-com dominance with To All the Boys: Always and Forever.
As is increasingly the case, Netflix non-original options are sparse in February. But Inception does arrive on Feb. 1 and the first two Conjuring films return to the streamer on Feb. 21.

Well, It's Time I started these 'Best of' Reviews for what Animated thing had Happened this Year, and Now I'm ready for it, and for me, I think that 2017 was a great Year for Cartoons on TV (and one on the Net), and here are my Reviews on why.
Ben 10(2016 series) – Although the Show was Made and Released in 2016 at other Foreign territories, It finally got a Release in the US in 2017. And some Folks might say that some reboots aren’t very too Bright (and I would agree on TTG and/or PPG 2016), But I find this to be a Nerve Calming excitement, some of the Character Designs/Re-Designing look Cute & Likable to Me. And the One Thing that gets me Fired up for this Series is that some Artists I know worked on this Program, like Mr. Ryan Krammer(Uncle Grandpa, & SpongeBob's 'Food Con Castaways' episode), Ms. Monica Ray(Harvey Beaks, Magic Children Doing Things) as Storyboard Artists & additional Writers& Mr. Colin Heck(Legend of Korra, Harvey Beaks) as Supervising Director. And It was Wonderful to hear Ms. Jessica DiCicco(Lynn & Lucy Loud) voicing a Different-looking FrightWig, who the Character was previously voiced by Cree Summer in the Original Series. But believe me, I remember seeing the Original Ben 10 series along with Alien Force, but didn’t quite go thru the Rest of the Series until the Reboot came. Even the Original villains of this Show look so Cute (except for Billy Billions), which that Cuteness also goes to the re-Designing of the other Villains from the Original ‘Ben 10’ series, and the More appearance I’ve ever seen from a Villain is Steam Smythe (voiced by Roger Craig Smith of ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ & ‘Regular Show’).
Billy Dilley’s Super-Duper Subterranean Summer – Quite an Interesting Show, and I bet many people thought that the Program reminded them of ‘Uncle Grandpa’, so Keep in Mind, Most of the Artists & Writers who worked on this Series previously worked on ‘Spongebob Squarepants’ & ‘Uncle Grandpa’. Even the Show’s Creator Mr. Aaron Springer voicing Billy almost sounds like Paul Rugg of 'Freakazoid', 'Pig, Goat, Banana, Cricket', & 'Secret Mountain Fort Awesome'.
Samurai Jack(Season 5) - I truly Enjoyed watching 'Samurai Jack' when I was Young, this Program along with 'Courage the Cowardly Dog', 'Juniper Lee', & 'Chowder' are Probably the only Good Old Cartoon Network Programs that I give Full Circle to in my Childhood. After the "Jack and the Baby" episode, the show went into a Deep Cliffhanger, and I truly Sympathize the Great Hero Jack for it, But Twelve Years Later, a New Season had Finally cometh, with the Show's Original Creator Mr. Genndy Tartakovsky coming to Ex. Produced the series after some Great Work back at Sony Pictures Animation(Hotel Transylvania films, & that Popeye Test Footage). And Instead of the Program being a-little Lighthearted like the Past Seasons with just Slime, Oil & Robotic Guts, and Major Boo-boos, the New Season 5 now airing on Adult Swim has moved to a Darker Tone, which I like as much as 'Return to Oz', 'Over the Garden wall', & 'the Black Cauldron', with some major Blood, Profanity, and some Grown-Up jokes put into it. And it was a Surprised to see some Old Characters that I recognize to make some Cameos in that one episode(or few), such as the Woolies, Demongo, and the Ravers, the Robots and their Robo-Samurai, and the "Jump Good" Monkey man & his Tribe. And some Fresh New Voices came in by Surprise, such as Mr. Chris Parnell & Keegan Michael Key in some Episodes. And I was Lucky to film the Final Confrontation between Jack & Aku during the Premiere of the Series Finale for Instagram. And did I nearly weep during the Part that Now that Aku is Gone, Ashi will Never be Born in the Future(because of the Space Timing Continuum), and I got to say, Ashi was a Cute Character that I truly Sympathize because of her Dark Past & People Torturing her back then, and I like her Voice Actress, the Legendary Ms. Tara Strong (Powerpuff Girls, My Little Pony, Ben 10, & Chowder). And even since Aku's Original voice actor Mr. Mako passed away back then, I say that Mr. Greg Baldwin really did a Good Job impersonating Mako voicing Aku, just like he did with Iroh of 'Avatar: the Last Airbender' & 'Legend of Korra', almost sounded like If Mako aged Puberty. I would say I'm Gonna Miss this Show, just like how I'll miss Chowder, Regular Show, and soon Uncle Grandpa.
Star vs. the Forces of Evil: Battle for Mewni /SvtFoE Season 3– To come Clear, I only watched the First Four Stories of that TV Movie Special, from “Return to Mewni” to “Marco and the King”, Because during the Further Episodes there was an Artist whose Career I clearly dislike, Tyler Chen of ‘Clarence’, ‘Fish Hooks’, ‘Pickle & Peanut’ & the Overrated Bravest Warriors minisode “drama Bug”, and that’s why I never made it to the Ending point, But I do read Perfectly that Star won the Battle against the Vile Toffee, and she got her Wand Redesigned. But what I can tell you that one of my Favorite Episodes from that so Far is “Moon the Undaunted”, and I gotta say that Eclipsa, Queen of Darkness is one of my Most Favorite Characters from the show so far. As for the Rest of Season 3 so Far, I’ve only watched Episodes that are NNOT directed by Chen, cuz remember when I said I don’t like his Career, but my Most Favorite Episodes out of Season 3 so Far is ‘Stranger Danger’, ‘Lint Catcher’, & ‘Trial by Squire’. Also, Despite having appeared in the 2016 episode "Page Turner", I like Hekapoo's appearance in the 2017 episode "Running with Scissors", which is One of my Most Favorite Episodes of Season 2.
The Loudest Mission: Relative Chaos - I really Enjoyed this Half-Hour Special of ‘the Loud House’, the New Characters there seemed Likable/Lovable unlike the Unlikable/Hate-able ones in Royal Woods where some Folks aren’t that Disgusting as Hell(Funny Business, Cereal Offender), and It’s also a Good Episode where no Sister Siblings were Complete & Utter jerks(Sleuth or Consequences, a Novel Idea), Even what surprised me Completely is that this was the First Thing in a Kids’ Cartoon to showcase a person with Down-Syndrome, and believe me, I felt Really Disappointed on how they were Portrayed in Adult Cartoons, Mostly *COUGH*Family guy*COUGH*. But in a Kids Cartoon, they were Treated Properly with Good Respect. And the Character Rosa reminds me of Mrs. Claus/Mama from Rankin/Bass’ ‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer’ for some Wacky Reason, “Eat, eat, EAT”. And I still Love the RonnieColn Fandom Completely, that one LH Episode “Back Out There” almost Ruined some Things, and that Led me to have Mixed to Negative Feelings for Lincoln’s Friends Clyde, Rusty, Liam, Zach. So I would say that ‘the Loudest Mission: Relative Chaos’ is a Fun-Filled Episode that I could watch Multiple Times, It’s got Cute & Funny moments, some Heart-Warming Drama, and some Great Entertainment when the Alley Cats run amuck in the Casagrande apartment.
OK K.O! Let’s be Heroes – This Show has become a Great New addition to the Grand CN, It was created by Mr. @ianjq, who was previous storyboard supervisor & storyboard revisionist of ‘Adventure Time’, Writer & Story Artist for ‘Secret Mountain Fort Awesome’, voice of Wallow of ‘Bravest Warriors’, & developer, co-executive producer, supervising director, storyline writer & storyboard artist for ‘Steven Universe’, and I really like him Voicing Rad & other Characters such as Darrell & Crinkly Wrinkly in the K.O. program. It was based off a short Pilot episode ‘Lakewood Plaza Turbo’ back in 2013, in that Great Year of Discoveries along with other pilots for ‘Steven Universe’, ‘Over the Garden Wall’, & ‘Clarence’, and that was a Time when I was also Fascinated with Disney’s Nine old Men and their Work/Book ‘the Illusion of Life’, and watching that Awesome Documentary on Cartoon Network’s ‘Next Generation of Animation’, I will always accept New Cartoon Network shows like ‘Adventure Time’, ‘Regular Show’, ‘Uncle Grandpa’, ‘Over the Garden Wall’, ‘Steven Universe’, & ‘We Bare Bears’ into the Cartoon Society. But as for ‘OK K.O.’ , the seems pretty Wonderful, It has a Blend of 1970’s Obscure Anime looks into the Western Animation looks, and How they have some Classical Cartooning Principles(Funny Cartoon Noises, Jokes & Gags) into the Modern Day Greatness. Even some of the characters seemed likable, Mostly on either Lord Boxman(voiced by the Great Jim Cummings), some of the Villainess Characters that the Heroes might met(Professor Venomous, Cosma, & Mr. Cardsley), and even some of the Main Good Characters, especially the Ones I also Sympathize like K.O., Rad, Enid, Dendy, Carol, & Mr. Gar, and I gotta say that Character Crinkly Wrinkly is the Funniest character that I’ve ever seen. I think it was Good that I first get to watch the Series when It was On-Demand before it aired on actual TV, but I have yet to see it’s 2013 Pilot episode along with the Rests that Aired on 2013, But I do know that it had a Mobile Game back then (though I did not Download it or played it) and a Series of Shorts by other Animation Studios, but I haven’t watch them because I am Never a huge fan of SCIENCE SARU and I’m Not too certain about Studio Yotta. But I gotta say also, This Show is a Fanstastic Experience on the Grand CN, Filled with Precious Heart-Warming episodes with Good Life Lessons like How to handle your own Duties as an Employer or how Great your Boss can be (‘Legends of Mr. Gar’), or If you Try not to Spoil your life by being a Self-Proclaimed Selfish ‘Cool Kid’ like Brat, you should have a More Focused Future ahead of you, even without going to Jail (‘We’ve Got Pests’), and the Show had some Crazy Developments such as Enid & Rad used to being a Couple (‘Second First Date’), and Enid being a Witch and being in a Family of Halloween-Themed Characters (‘Parents Day’). Plus the shows got a Good crew, Like the Program's Supervising Director Toby Jones, who Previously worked on 'Regular Show', and one of the Show's Story folks Dave Tennant, previously does some Stories for Pete Browngardt Cartoons, Which I think makes it Better for Me.
Pickle Rick – Why not, It’s “PICKLE RIIIICK!!!!”, I thought I would pass on this, But eventually won my Heart, don’t ask why, but Things just happen like that.
The Summoning - I just Discovered this while browsing on the internet probably from Fan-Art on DA, and I watched it on Youtube, and I gotta say, this Cartoon is Really Cute, Funny, & Creepy at the same time. The Main Characters seemed Lovable, and I mean Claire & Edgar, the Bunny Character is hugely Funny in a way, Though I feel Terribly Bad for the characters accidentally eating some things like Eating some Dandruff from a Big Head Island which Claire thought it was Dirt, and Eating Poop which Edgar thought it was Chocolate. But to make Matters Better for the Cartoon, Celmation Hero Ms. Natasha Allegri(Bee & Puppycat, Fionna & Cake) worked on the short as Director, Story Artist, & Character Designer, WHAT A HERO!!! And the Animations/Celmation was done by Digital eMation inc., the Celmation Team behind ‘Ok K.O. Let’s be Heroes!’ & the Season 5 of ‘Samurai Jack’.
The Movies of 2017 & Probably some on Video Games should be made soon.

TheOneTrueVincent Reviews: OK K.O.! Let’s be Heroes
Hello everyone! This is TheOneTrueVincent and I’m here to bring you my review of Cartoon Network’s newest show OK K.O.! Let’s be Heroes
OK K.O.! Let’s be Heroes is Cartoon Network’s new hit show, the show started out as a pilot called “Lakewood Plaza Turbo” back in 2013 among a few other pilots that soon got their own series on the channel itself such as Clarence and Steven Universe. As for Lakewood Plaza Turbo, it was presumed failed but it was only thought that because of a lack of information. Until 2016 where the show and was announced to come out soon and got 3 new shorts and a mobile phone game along with its new title name “OK K.O.”, of course, after that, the show came out on August 1, 2017, now let’s talk about the creator himself.
The Creator:
As for the creator, his name is Ian Jones-Quartey, other than making OK K.O. he’s done a quite a few roles in animation. He’s been a writer, storyboard artist and director, producer, as well as some voice acting in shows like Bravest Warriors, Steven Universe, and even in OK K.O. He’s worked on shows such as Venture Bros, Secret Mountain Fort Awesome, Adventure Time, and Steven Universe, and as for his original stuff, other than OK K.O., he’s only done a popular webcomic called “RPG World: The Comic That’s in a Game” and was co-creator for the web series “nockFORCE” along with Jim Gisriel (A movie reviewer and podcaster of the “Pizza Party Podcast”). OK K.O. being his first original cartoon to actually be on a channel, speaking of which let’s now get into the show.
What this show is about:
OK K.O! Let’s be Heroes takes place in the year 201X where everyone and their mother is a hero or a villain, we follow the adventures of a vibrant young boy named K.O. He inspires to be a great hero when he grows up, so he believes by the best way to do this is by getting a job at Gar’s Bodega, a hero supply shop ran by Mr.Gar (a no-nonsense amazing hero) at Lakewood Plaza. K.O manages to get the job and with his friends and co-workers Enid (a cool, levelheaded sister-like employee) and Rad ( a lazy, narcissistic big brotherly alien) go on crazy, wacky adventures, from fighting evil robots by Lord Boxman ( an evil villain who runs his factory “Boxmore” and hates Gar and anything that involves friendship) to keeping up on their duties at the Bodega, and to them it’s all in a day’s work to become great heroes.
The general feel of the show:
OK K.O. is an action/comedy show, but more comedy than action if we’re going, to be honest, the comedy is the best part of the show, the jokes are great and I would believe that both children and an older audience can laugh at these jokes, there are also a lot of jokes that make references to tons of stuff in media but we’ll go into that later. As for the action, it’s pretty cool, nothing to the levels of shonen anime or anything like that, but more like other cartoons something more PowerPuff Girls and Danny Phantom, but in the end, they’re pretty cool. In the end, the most important thing, in the end, are the characters, of course, I think the characters are funny and great. K.O. is a good main character he gives me that feeling of when I was a kid and loved all stuff superhero related and that feeling of just being an impressionable kid, Rad is pretty cool as well he’s lazy and full of himself but does care for his friends in the end, and as for Enid she’s amazing and the most relatable character in the show. Now let’s go into the major criticisms of the show. Major criticisms of the show: There aren’t that many problems with the show itself but there are a few people have pointed out a few things in the show, and these things in the show you can either love it or hate it.
The first thing is the off-model problem, this has happened in Steven Universe where certain characters go off-model depending on the scene ( going off-model means when a character has been drawn off par with the original source or model sheet). But I don’t think it’s that big of a problem in this show, OK K.O. is more of a comedy and can kind of get away with it since they use it for jokes. Where in Steven Universe it can be funny, it can off-putting as it depends on the scene itself.
The other thing is the show’s uses of references, OK K.O. makes tons of references to all sorts of other cartoons, anime, movies, etc. and often ask “are kids even going to get that reference?”, I understand where they’re coming from, but I don’t find that a problem of any sorts, I can enjoy the show without knowing the references they make, tons of shows in the past have done the same, We just didn’t know when we were kids and I would say it’s the same with kids today. I showed my 9 and 6-year-old brothers and they loved the show without knowing the references. I just think we notice this more often mainly because we’re grown up and the people making the show grew up around the same time as us and experienced a lot of the same media we watched.
But if you don’t mind these problems, then you’re fine, if not that’s fine we all don’t always like the same thing
Final Thoughts:
I love this show, I love the characters, love its humor, I love everything, OK K.O is my favorite show currently on CN at the moment and favorite cartoon of the year
OK K.O. is the type of show I’ve been waiting for on CN, it’s nice to take a break from CN constantly playing Teen Titans Go and seeing something new coming from the channel since a lot of the older shows are ending now. and OK K.O. is just the start of the new generation of cartoons on CN, and I hope it stays strong for years to come.
