I wanna preface that I'M NOT SAYIN' that Damian should/does have magic powers, but there’s still so much unexplored potential with Damian's character, and the thought that he has a dormant adeptness in magic is somewhat compelling to me. Most importantly it would FREAK! BRUCE! OUT!!!!! What is this, magic puberty 😭??

By DC laws, anyone has the ability to learn magic, but it is also possible to be an innate ability. The Al Ghuls are no strangers to the occult-- Ra's has had increasingly been portrayed as a magic user, and the recent establishment of his mother being a sorceress/witch?? Even Talia dabbled in a bit of magic, I think. There is a catch that their power is suggested to be due to Lazarus exposure, but for arguments sake let's say the Al Ghul lineage is inherently proficient in magic (and Lazarus exposure simply enhances it).

I can't recall "magic" being a part of Damian's training/upbringing (I'm still slowly catching-up on Damian comics so apologies if I miss any canon examples of magic use). Not sure why Talia wouldn't want her little "heir to an ancient assassin empire baby" to learn magic, but it would at least give reason to Damian not knowing about his magic potential, or lack of interest in it.

Through the power of pseudo storytelling, what if Damian's encounter with Mother Soul could have triggered a manifestation of magic that was once dormant; like a pressure cooker waiting to explode with energy when it hasn't been given a safe outlet.

I've yet to read a satisfying arc where Damian truly gets to contemplate his Al Ghul roots outside of "dad is good guy, mum is bad guy". Damian's initial character growth stems from him running away from, and renouncing his association with the League (i.e. "I'm nothing like you, mother and grandfather!").

The most recent thing I've read was Robin (2021), and whilst Damian is much more cordial with his mother, there's still an emotional distance and sense of distrust/resentment (for good reason, even if the context was some cartoonishly evil writing). But there is a silver-lining that they still appear to be fond of each other, in a melancholy kind of way.

Realizing he's "genetically" primed for magic would be especially confronting to Damian. There's no denying his Al Ghul blood, forcing him to confront a facet of himself he can no longer ignore or reject. A family that he likely has to approach for help/guidance.

Damian is put in a position of acknowledging this power could be used for good, to be stronger, to fight crime, balancing it with the implication that what he possesses could be rooted in dark magic (Lazarus enchantment).

If he decides to embrace it, would that be too much of an endorsement of the Al Ghul's dark occultism? Can he separate the two ideas? What if he can't control it? What if he accidentally hurts someone? What if has the ability to save someone where his other skills fall short?

Ideally, I'd love for this hypothetical story to lead into Damian exploring his Al Ghul heritage more intimately, historically, and spiritually (à la RSoB: Year of Redemption adventures). Another little coming-of-age self discovery journey.

I have my own little personal thoughts on what Damian decides to do with his magic powers, but I'd like to leave that open to interpretation... By the end of it I hope that he will at least find some forgiveness over resentment, and a balance between accepting that side of his family a little easier. It is finally a sense of inner peace :)

he's stuck, he has nothing to do, nothing he can do. because he's an npc, his life will never begin because he's not living. people overlook him and don't pay him mind, his own parents don't pay attention to him. it's not that they don't love him, they do, they just don't have the time nor ability to look after him, atleast not properly.

people treat him more like a glorified pet because he is still an npc, no one should, realistically, love him like a son, at most he is a pet. but he's one of, if not the only, npc on the dsmp that is canonically considered a son, not a pet. shroud is technically a pet, yoghurt is i think considered fundy's son? but if you check on the wiki, michael is the only one of actual listing and not just an addition of another. michael is his own person, and yet is still an npc. he can't do anything, and yet is his own someone. he is someone, not someone's addition. he's not tubbo's son, or ranboo's son, he is michael.

and yet he's still stuck in his room. still stuck having to go along with other people's wills. because he is code. he can't do anything but follow his code.

and so with the charactarization of michael, making him his own person, it allows him the ability to think, yet not do. "i think therefore i am" and yet he can't think. not actually. he still has to follow his code. if you hit him, he must attack back, its in the code. so you can characterize and personalise michael all you want, give him hopes, and dreams, give him depth, but in the end, he is an npc. he can't leave his room, he can't make friends, he can't go explore. he is stuck in his room. just like how rapunzel is stuck in the tower.

If he were a true punk, he wouldn't have judged Raven by her destiny and feed into people's assumptions of her. He would have been one of the first people to question destiny, (even if at the time before Raven's legacy day declaration, things were too dangerous to take action and rise up against headmaster grimm). He would HATE a huge majority of royals and probably steal from them constantly (I would support him I'm ngl). And. And. probably be on the more cynical side of things. With him being one of the first to see just how obviously torturous and unfair the destiny system is, that would explain his loner attitude and how he avoids the rest of his more wealthy and privileged peers.

Idk man!!!!! This isn't to say that I hate sparrow's canon character just cause he isn't a real punk... Sgdhrhehfbsf no, I think a poser Robin Hood is an immensely interesting concept. AND it holds potential for character development, I just won't be diving into all those missed potentials to further develop sparrow's character here

All this just to say...... Sparrow isn't a proper representation of a punk. And I'm pretty sure the show acknowledges this. It recognizes that sparrow is selfish, he has no intention to give back to the community, and instead focuses on stealing from the rich and giving to himself, and we don't ever see him ever truly worry about anyone less fortunate than he is.

I'm pretty we all know this so. Why did I even make this post?!?? Uhhhmmmm!?????

─ You put up a good fight ─bites─ but you didn't have enough skill to defeat the self-proclaimed God, running away only served you for a while until your energy was completely exhausted.

─ Enel's first mistake was thinking that you wouldn't need an attack that was too powerful to knock you out of the game, although you got a good spark, since you started traveling with this crew your body had learned to withstand a certain amount of pain, in short, you did not have the same resistance or abilities that a child your age would have, which helped you stay alive.

saw these tweets and this fic and they really reminded me of your latest chapter! a thing that often goes unmentioned in fics i’ve read is how horrible the grid treated rookie max vs the new rookies when he was literally 17 😭 like he was trained to be a winning machine all his life with some pretty horrible tactics and now all these people he’s looked up to aren’t even welcoming him onto the grid. was so happy you explored a little bit of this in search history because max’s rookie season drives me a bit insane <3

OOOOOO I could talk about rookie max for literal ages. he paved the way for all the other rookies, even for the drivers in his own generation. absolutely insane how he got treated, makes me mad every time I think about it.

Especially because Max, potentially more than anyone else, is a product of formula one, a product of the environment they participate in and cultivate. both his parents drove, his dad was literally on the grid, he went on holiday trips with the Schumacher's, his entire life was driving and moving up to F1. There quite literally was not anything else.

I think it was bullshit for the other drivers and media to suddenly act "holier than thou" about him when he got to the grid- he acted that way because that's what wins. He was innovative (see: him backpacking SV in monaco) and he was determined and he didn't cower down in front of anyone else, and I think several drivers were intimidated and didn't feel like he'd "paid his dues".

yes, he was reckless, and aggressive, and didn't leave anyone a single centimeter, and that's because it's what the greatest drivers of the sport did, and he was unfairly and disproportionately villainized for it.

he also knows the rule book front to back + the fine print, and he gets shit for it even today, from other drivers and teams, and I still think that's bullshit. I firmly believe the only time another team gets mad from something in f1 is because they didn't think of it first, and I think we've seen a lot of examples of that with Max.

Max Verstappen, and by extension, Redbull, are here to win, and they will use every inch of track, every gap in the rules, and every loophole they can find to do it. I don't think that's wrong, and any team that says "it's against the spirit of the sport" once again, is pissed they didn't do it first.

Max's treatment of the new rookies is a direct response to the way he was treated, and that is completely heartbreaking to see, because he's always full of praise and advice, and he's described over and over again off the track as kind, and sweet, and practically shy. It's ridiculous that he gets the reputation he does. (drive to survive when I get my hands on you-)

One of the first things that came to mind for me is a dark night of the soul… I haven’t heard that term in so long and I’ve completely forgotten what it means, but for someone in this pile, I feel like that may resonate a lot. Going through a tough time. Blow after blow. Your higher self or inner wisdom is trying to reach you. Introspection before a new beginning. An ending of something you don’t want to let go of?

"I need you to run to me, run to me, lover." (Run by Hozier, the chorus specifically. I know the song is supposed to be a metaphor but I'm suggesting it at face value). A very healing energy to your person's messages. Your person could also fantasise about you a lot... in a non-x-rated 18+ kind of way. It was mentioned on one of the cards but that part of the card felt awkward in the rest of the cards. They’re possessive, it doesn't seem like in a negative or extreme way but again, that's not something that was strong or clear. There’s something to do with the attention of others. They just want to be yours completely… Honestly, a submissive yet dominant kind of energy. A protector and/or provider (take that as you will) who is absolutely smitten with you and will do anything you say.

I don't typically read for it, but one of the cards had twin flame written on it. It could also be symbolic of mirroring each other in your personal journeys in life.

Okay, I can do this: I can’t get you off of my mind. I’m constantly thinking of you, viewing your content, trying to set myself up to run into you. I know it’s silly, especially since you hurt me. Who pines after the person that hurt them? Well, it wasn't meant to be mean. You’re just so mysterious I can’t ever read you and it or you make me nervous. I’m always worrying about what to say. I want to talk to you but opening up to others is hard. I’m afraid I’ll start crying or you’ll hear my voice crack. You’re my person. I’m sure of it. Oh Pile 3, you’re so intimidating to your person. Secret admirer vibes. I definitely think you’ve got a very serious or professional energy and an intimidating appearance. That may especially be true if you’re taller than average for your demographic/s. The energies here feel very balanced or neutral (not heavily feminine or masculine) on both your end and theirs.

Such a beautiful light-hearted energy. There’s such a beautiful and hopeful energy in this relationship here but it’s also possible someone or something is working against you right now. A very important decision is being made. Someone could be trying to take something from you, but keep going. You’ve got this incredible power/energy to you. Vows are super important, be it making them with someone else or making a vow to yourself to gain or achieve something. Collaboration. Having everything you need to succeed. Post-Reading Notes:

The vibes while doing the reading felt like very young vibes? There’s a youthfulness there. Someone who either is actually young in age or hasn’t grown up emotionally in a certain aspect. It felt like they did something prideful that was hurtful to you and you two are in a disconnect during the moment captured in the reading. It didn’t feel like a serious fight. More so when you’re upset with someone and acting like you’re madder than you really are (your vibes) and the other person is sweating and begging you to talk to them again (their vibes).
