Crime Report
Related to the time traveling criminals associated with and originating from the planet ALDERAAN (located outside of this local cluster of galaxies which contains the planet Terra (human species homeworld) and the planet Vulcan (Spock and Sarek) and the planet Orion and the planet Kronos (kablah and batleth and targ and gahk) and the planet Bajor and the planet Romulus (Tal Shiar, jolan tru Pardek) and the planet Cardassia and the planet Ferenginar and the Andorian home world.
MOFF TARKIN repeatedly spotted along with associated criminals in the city of Sheridan in the state of Wyoming in the country known as the United States of America on the planet now known as Earth (this particular instance is known as Earth. This planet was originally generally referred to as the planet Terra with Atreides, Mayer, Keurig, Lucerne, Gomez, Romanov, Merovingian, Sobieski, Ming, Meiji, Andersen, Olson, Hansen, Bergstrom - noble or highly public families, among others. International Business Machines is a widespread advanced technology company associated with the more similar to original timelines instances of the planet Terra). Calendar date on the planet known as Earth referenced is Thursday July 18, year 2024.
MOFF TARKIN was originally a janitor associated with the military on his home world Alderaan (known for lesser access to copper, and different technology development associated with having less access to that mineral or natural resource). An opportunity arose for him to steal a white coat and wearing it and using his Janitor's set of keys, gain access to an experimental transporter, along the lines of a device featuring twisting or rotating dials, and no changing numerical displays, and using the dial intended to define the level of time travel, began his continuing time travel crimes. After encountering instances of more advanced technology associated with reel to reel tape machines, MOFF TARKIN used his time travel and infiltration to redesign the existing military uniforms to feature military rank insignia in a square shape for each unit, similar for each unit of rank to the square, often colored buttons on a reel to reel tape machine such as for start or stop playing, rewind, fast forward.
White stormtrooper armor was a later included development, giving certain military members supposedly effective combat armor that they essentially wore continuously that was essentially entirely white externally with black connection areas and features such as eye ports for the helmet. Designed essentially as a disguise for criminal officers to wear temporarily, stormtrooper armor is definitely not combat effective. These square military rank insignia militaries are entirely composed of males. Look for their top criminal members raping women in arenas or public stadiums or areas and broadcasting it widely, often with compelled viewing. MOFF TARKIN's version of this square military rank insignia time travel crime is definitely not the only one. Similar sets of conditions produced vast numbers of the same sorts of criminals in entirely unrelated Star systems and galaxies.

My Take on Warhammer 40k Or A Potential Original Work inspired by 40k
Part 1: Setting up the Game Board
DISCLAIMER:What you are about to read is a radically different take on Warhammer 40k which will most likely be its own thing, so I ask do not take it seriously a Warhammer AU fanfic, for that case consider this a concept made out of boredom and faith, but should you take it seriously, see it rather a prototype of an original work with its influences as placeholders.
Plus this contains Christian theology ala Tolkien and Lewis in terms of world building. Its not complete and not perfect so pardon me if I don't touch on things like the Orks or The Old Ones.
Thank you for Reading.
While overall I'm not that into Warhammer 40k, there are things among it I do like such as space elves, space gods, space church, space demons, blocky armored human super soldiers. So I kinda want to do my take on the Warhammer 40k universe which will be its own thing(which I have notes on). Most of my inspiration comes from Tolkien's Lengendarium and CS Lewis' Ransom Trilogy/Space Trilogy(which terminology from both works will be borrowed) combined with the theology of my Catholic faith.
When coming up with these sorts things, I always ask myself questions such as
"What do you want from this? Why from this? And what's the merits of this?"
Which then I turned to CS Lewis on how he came up with ideas such as Narnia which he asked himself a speculative question, so I did so myself;
"Supposed 40k had more clear lines of Good and Evil ala Lord of The Rings and existed in a Christian Theological setting and Man, Eldar, and Tau were the big good and the three were created by God in his image; what would all of this put together look like?"
So let's start with my take on The Warp
The Warp itself is a gigantic cosmic ley line between the Materium and what would be referred to in CS Lewis's Space Trilogy as "Deep Heaven" where the triune supreme deity of this universe, whom we will call for the sake of this AU Triad, wells with his heavenly legions.
Triad is known as one Deity in Three Persons;
The Emperor-Of-All-That-Is(Aka Eru Iluvatar, The Old One, or The Father)
The Celestial King(Aka Urendi Maleldil, The Young One, or The Son)
and The Breath of Life(Aka The Flame Imperishable, The Third One, or The Spirit)
In this theology, the Gods in Warhammer akin to Valar of Tolkien's Middle Earth or Oyéresu and lesser warp enties akin to Maiar or Eldila who are assigned to guide and watch over mortal species and planets, the most unique being the pantheon of Powers amongst the humans, Eldar, and Tau.
Now in this beginning, there was the War In The Heavens started by the 5th Chaos God, who's vaguely implied to be Satan/Lucifer, hell for the sake of what little 40k this resembles, lets dub him Malal/Malice
Who The Eldar know as Morgoth formerly Melkor
and The Tau know as The Bent One formerly The Shinning One
and his four elite subordinates
Slaanesh who we know as Asmodeus on our planet
Nurgle who we know as Beezlebub on our planet
Tzeentch or who we know as Leviathan
and Khorne who known to be some kind of malicious demon of wrath(haven't come up with who)
and all of them were driven back and confined to certain planets
Nurgle and Slaanesh and their repsective legions were confined to the home planet of of the Aeldari
Khorne and Tzeentch and their minions were bound T'au the planet
and Malal was bound to Terra with his legions with a far greater seal.
However the planets they were bound to were home of three species that were all of the "Imago Dei", The Aeldari, Tau, and Humans respectively, the humans being the youngest
So 5 "gods" plotted to corrupt these species and use them as a means to spread their influence throughout the Galaxy and beyond when they become able of space travel.
One by one these three races fell, Malal tempted the first parents of Man first, then Tzeentch and Khorne temped the first parents of Tau, and finally Slaanesh and Nurgle tempted the Aeldari.
But Triad has plans for these races and did not intend to leave the galaxy to suffer, these plans began with the redemption of these three species
But as the Fall started through Adam’s race, the redemption had to also begin through Adam’s race.
So for the sake of each world and each life, The Celestial King came to Terra and became a Son of Adam.
From there he carried out a great task that rippled across the cosmos, and not only redeemed the children of Adam and Eve, but made them fully warp and fully matter, just as The Celestial King became Fully God and Fully Man. Which I will go into detail in part 2 with The Emperor of Mankind, the human race and their role in this AU.
After this, the newly ascended King departed for the Aeldari and Tau planets where his mere arrival redeemed the two races.
With things set into motion, The Celestial King departed back to his father in The Heavens.
History of the three races transpired, and accumulated in the Age of Strife where The God-Chosen Monarchs arose to bring order to their respective races and come together to conquer and civilize the Galaxy.
Coming soon in Part 2: Man, Eldar, and T’au: Three species of One Image

Several pre-Astral Confederation human colonies, each settled by a different Earth nation in the days before the Terran Alliance, a time sometimes referred to as the "Vale Terra Period". All are now official members of the Confederation, while still retaining their status as components of their parent nations.
玉山, Jade Mountain, a garden world in the Luyten's Star system. Also known by the names Gliese 273b and Luyten b, the planet was settled by the first Chinese exosolar colony vessel 钱学森 (also known as the Qian Xuesen). Originally settled in 2073, Jade Mountain successfully weathered the storm of the Second Chinese Civil War of the 2080s, largely by virtue of not picking any specific side. A subsequent controversy over the colony's flag ignited during the Chinese Democratic Confederation accession to the Terran Alliance in 2102. Debate over the legacy of the flag ultimately resulted in Jade Mountain keeping its original design as a nod to its origins. The planet has a current population of ~26.4 million sapients.
Bunyan, also known as the State of Bunyan, officially known as Ross 128 b. One of the 60 states of the United States of America, admitted to the Union in 2085, after colonization began in 2071. Named for the immense "heavenwood" trees that blanket 56 percent of the planet's surface, the planet has a population of ~42 million sapients. Its proximity to the claimed territory of the Wargen species made it a key trade world in the years before the Astral Confederation was founded.
Avalon, officially the British Exoterrestrial Territory of Avalon, also known as GJ 1002 b or Gliese 1002 b. Founded in 2072, Avalon was the site of the Houseblock War, the 2151 first contact and (mistaken) confrontation between humanity and the Lamian species, which resulted in the second extrasolar deployment of the Terran Alliance Navy. Owing to the nature of the conflict's resolution, the second moon of the planet (formerly known as Guinevere) is now a joint human-Lamian colony known as Tasha'laar. Sometimes known by various extranet nicknames, including "Scalies' Paradise" or "Arena" (a reference to a fictional conflict which somewhat mirrored the events of the Houseblock War), Avalon continues to be a major centre of human-Lamian diplomatic relations. Combined with its four moons, Avalon boasts a population of 64.6 million sapients.

Crossover Of The Earths & Crystal-Terra (2022)
------------------------------
Credit for Hazbin Hotel & Helluva Boss goes to Vivienne “Vivziepop” Medrano
Credit for Steven Universe series goes to Rebecca Sugar
Credit for Deltarune & Undertale goes to Toby Fox
Credit for Super Mario Series goes to Nintendo
Credit for Sonic The Hedgehog goes to Sega
Credit for Archie-Sonic The Hedgehog goes to Archie Comics
Credit for IDW-Sonic The Hedgehog goes to IDW Comics
----------------------------------
at first I was only gonna draw the Earth from Deltarune, but then I decided to do well more than just that.
also in my last post before this one, that has Tallest Purple kissing Steven (from Steven Universe Future)
I didn’t notice until now, that I accidentally put“worse” instead of “words”
when explaining those who saw it, will have to click on the drawing in order to see it better.....also after fixing that, I found something else I didn’t notice until I took a good look at it, that I accidentally put “Deltarue” instead of “Deltarune”
in the credits.....we all make mistakes, spelling mistakes do happen at times.
I know I didn’t get some of the Alternate Earths 100% correct,
and yeah the “Mushroom” on the Earth that is suppose to be where the Mario Brothers, Peach, Bowser and the other characters live on, is a reference to Super Mario Odyssey, so that is where The Mushroom Kingdom is, on the land that looks like a Mushroom.
the Mobius Prime in this is suppose to be a fuse of both the old and new timelines together, Prime Zone 2.0. is suppose to be Fanon only...
I don’t believe Penders should have Scourge, I still believe that Scourge should be cleaved from Anti-Sonic, to become his own character....plus Penders isn’t the one who redesign him into Scourge in the first place, plus it be nice if Scourge did appear in IDW, he is given a different backstory and isn’t a Sonic anymore, he was naturally born as a Green Hedgehog with Blue Eyes.
Scourge The Hedgehog, should be seen as Patrick Spaziante’s son.
anyway back to the drawing...this drawing also has a Crossover-Earth,
where it’ suppose to be a Crossover Earth with Deltarune, Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss and Steven Universe.
one of the Earth’s belonging to Undertale, is the way it is because of the whole Humans Vs Monster War.
and if both Undertale and Deltarune, shared a Earth with Steven Universe...
it might be the Undertale one, that will end up being in the timeline
who will fall victim to the bio-poison, and then after everything is over with, the planet would then be reformed into Crystal-Terra;formerly known as Earth.
I do have a theory that while the Monsters and Kris live in the Modern Times,
the Humans (not counting Kris) who are still in the “dark ages”
like yes in this Modern Times we live in now, there are still Kings and Queens.
but what if the Humans in Deltarune had Royal Family, and they even do a Hero Summoning thing, you know when people from a Fantasy World, Summons you without your consent to save them from a Demon Lord.
like if Susie showed one of the Head Of The Royal Knights a kitten video on a cellphone.
the said Knight, might yell out “what is this dark magic...?! why is that kitten trapped behind the glass, who would dare trap such a innocent feline with dark magic!”
anything that is technology, would possibly be seen as “dark magic” to the Humans of Deltarune, and Kris was raised possibly since they were a baby, by a Monster Family.
when Queen mentions taking over the world, there are images of what looks to be a Planet, that we can assume is Deltarune’s Earth which I tried to draw in this, and then I decided to make a Crossover of the other Earths...
I hope some Steven Universe Fans, like the idea if Pink actually completed her Gem Colony, it would end up having the Earth renamed Crystal-Terra.

Hey, any thoughts on going to the aquarium with literally any of Pedro's characters (whatever you feel like writing bc i'm incapable of making decisions) (like a real/modern-world au or smthn idk)? (sounds super random I know but i'm studying to be a marine veterinarian and the thought of being able to enjoy that topic without it being school related sounds great rn) --also i'm nonbinary so if you could keep language gender-neutral i will love you eternally
HELLO FRIEND
So I tried all day to think of a suitable gender-neutral pet name. “Bumblebee” was the best I could do, and I hope you like this. I also tried not to allude to reader’s gender at all.
“Hey, Bumblebee. Get over here.”
You turn at the nickname Ezra has bestowed on you. You’ve never even seen a picture of a bumblebee, but Ezra insists that he read in a book that they were vital to life on the planet formerly known as Earth, or Terra-1, in history tomes.
I have found a rare gem which I must protect at all costs, he’d said, after the first time you’d made love to each other, and which I find I cannot countenance in the hands of others. My Bumblebee.
You cross over to the tank he stands infront of. A dozen fish swim lazily behind the thick pane of glass, but Ezra points out two lobster-like creatures duelling on the pebbles at the bottom. “Wanted you to see these gentlemen duking it out.”
You chuckle and lean into him, and he wraps his one arm around you.
You two had worked for over a month, harvesting on three different moons, to save up enough to trade for passage to Nova-3, the universe-renowned pleasure planet. At the time, you’d said I don’t know, Ezra, and, that’s a lot of aurelac, but now, seeing the childlike joy on his face whenever you passed a new tank, you felt warm inside, giddy with happiness for him.
How long since he’d known joy like this?
“Place your bets, who will win?” you asked, as the smaller lobster creature advanced on the larger one.
“Well, that smaller one, he’s got spunk a’plenty,” Ezra mused.
“And the larger one?”
“I’m guessin’ he’ll need some time to concede, ruminate on what losing could gain him.”
You smirked, remembering your first meeting and how the conversation had gone somewhat similar.
Ezra kissed the top of your head and released you, and you led him to the next hand, a huge one. The sign read:
ONE OF THE LAST OCTOPUSES IN THE KNOWN UNIVERSE
In the tank, the large cave looked dark. A single tentacle could be seen, curling around the lip of the cave, the flesh bright orange and peppered with dark spots. A small child with her parents nearby ooohed as another tentacle appeared.
“This beats readin’ about it in the books, Bumblebee,” Ezra murmurs in awe. “When we can obtain literature, that is.”
You glance up at him. His dark eyes shine. In the dim light of this part of the aquarium, the blond streak in his hair lit like a beacon. Since you’d arrived on Nova-3, Ezra’s face has relaxed. The little lines at the corners of his eyes are back when he laughs. And he laughs full belly laughs with you. He’s always touching you, casual - holding your hand, bussing your cheek, but he’s there, and you would have paid all the aurelac in The Green to have him this relaxed, always.
The octopus’ bulbous head appears in the yawning maw of the cave. Everyone around you gasps, and Ezra is transfixed. “Would you look at that,” he marvels, speechless for once.
Well, actually, you had found a rather reliable way of making him speechless, but it wasn’t for public places.
The octopus floats to the front of the tank, seeming to pin its otherworldly eyes on you both. “Well, hello there,” Ezra croons to the creature, using the soft voice he sometimes does when he’s naked in bed with you. You feel a blush creep up your neck.
Thankfully, a gaggle of eager kids arrive and you and Ezra step aside to let them look their fill.
The next tank is chock full of tiny little fish, a bright silver shade, darting to and fro with, seemingly, no real destination in mind. That was me, you think as you watch them, the light reflecting off their scales. Drifting, until you met Ezra. He’s your lynchpin.
“You like these?” Ezra asks, his fingers idly playing in your hair.
“Hmm.”
“Does this trip reach the desired merit, do you think?” he asks softly. “Do you deem it worthy of all that aurelac?”
You turn to face him. The artificial light from the aquarium tank plays over his face, casting him in dappled shadows. He looks happy and relaxed, and to you he has never been more enchanting. You cup his cheek, rubbing your thumb along the scruff of his jaw, revelling in the warm, familiar scent of his skin. “You’re worth everything, Ezra.”
****
Not beta’d - we die like men.

World Headcanon - Terra Veteris
Terra Veteris is an Earth-Like planet located in universe 183-WSERIES (On the United Government’s Ministry of Science’s ‘FasTrack’ Coordinate Register). The actual inhabitants of Terra Veteris actually call it Earth, but it is commonly referred to on the M.O.S’s register as ‘Terra Veteris’, a name for both the planet and the universe as a whole.
This is the location of Authrum and it’s capital, Lobarr City, both heavily prominent in the Tetsuwan ATOM series, being the headquarters for the United Government and the Ministry of Science.
This is a brief overview of Terra Veteris as a whole, regarding it’s countries and some notable locations.
The countries are Authrum, Beyis, Evichy, Khrakov, Untera, Harfolk and Niyon.
AUTHRUM
Authrum is conisdered to be the powerhouse of Terra Veteris. It is run by the United Government. It leads the way in industry and technology, everything is made in house, exporting all over the world, resources of all sorts left, right and centre. It also spans the biggest railway network. The whole of Authrum, despite being such a world leader, is culturally in the 1980s, mixed with some 1970s and 1990s Australian/American aesthetic. While mostly a mainland country, Authrum has occupancy of a number of small and large islands in it’s territory, including what was once the north-western corner of Untera, once it’s own nation, but eventually voted to become part of Authrum. This is, naturally, disputed by Untera. In addition, Authrum also occupies the eastern side of the disputed Doglong Strait, part of a long-standing stalemate with it’s direct neighbour, Khrakov. The Strait was once it’s own territory, until split in half due to war in the 1950s.
Authrum is mostly an Australian aesthetic with British and American culture mixed in. They have a democratically elected parliament and senate, along with a prime minister. The president is independent of those elections and acts as an authority on determining the moral and social impacts of legislation, ensuring all laws are within the greater public interest.
Notable locations of Authrum include:
Lobarr City: The very centre of the United Government, where all it’s department buildings are kept, as well as the impressive Railway Station. It in itself is probably the biggest metropolis in all of Terra Veteris, stretching for quite a distance and so incredibly populated. It in itself is architecturally and culturally in the 1980s.
Mobilong: Located in the north, Mobilong is one of the industrial hearts of the country. It is a port, a complex, a town. It provides shipping to the northern islands and territories.
Thalassa Valley: Located in the south, Thalassa Valley is a sacred site, an ancient valley running for quite a stretch. It is also a bit of a country town, but the inhabitants try to preserve the heritage of Thalassa and it’s story in making Authrum what it is today.
Leyvaw River: Part of the giant Metropolitan District of Authrum (which includes Lobarr), the Leyvaw River runs for miles upon miles. Along the river in the Metro district is the NightWatch Facility, an Experimental Concepts building, running the deepest, darkest, most secret projects of the United Government.
____________
KHRAKOV
Khrakov is considered to be the second most powerful country, due to it's size and military might. Like Authrum, it is heavily nationalised, vast in resources which it utilises for it's work. Unlike Authrum, Khrakov is quite behind in the technological race. They do have a number of things, cars, transport, computers, television, etc, but every attempt to one-up or rival Authrum in everything itself has resulted either in complete failure or an abysmal knockoff. Their military is also the second most powerful in the country as well and do have a safety aresenal in the event of being completely threatened. They are currently engaged in a stalemate with Authrum over the Doglong Strait, with Khrakov occupying the western side. They also are monitoring the situation with Harfolk, considering, at this point in time, it borders with them up in the north. They also tend to have small border issues with Evichy and Beyis.
They try not to import what they can't make, even if it's superior. They seem to experience warmer weather, being further south. The aesthetic of Khrakov is distinctly Eastern-European, in it's culture, traditions, etc. They try to be modern, but their aesthetic is a bit behind, stuck in the 1970s. Democracy apparently exists in Khrakov, but really it’s all for one political party.
Notable locations of Khrakov include:
Darkvinkrat: The capital city of Krhakov. Quite the metropolis, but cannot hold a candle at all to Lobarr. It's structured in some way, but it is scattered a bit, depending on who was ruling at the time. Home to all sorts of displays when it's an off-day. Sometimes it's propaganda, sometimes it's promoting the country's culture.
Ronklov Labs: A large, disused facility located in Khrakov's east. Used to be home to Krhakov's experimental research branch until it was discontinued due to lack of funding. Home to all sorts of discontinued, abandoned experiments of all kinds. The place is considered to be haunted.
Beklucha Wasteland: A giant, uninhabited area of Khrakov that's off limits to human access. Such became a wasteland after being selected as the prominent site for Khrakov's destructive weapons testing. A lot of information about the land is considered to be classified and while checkpoints are located on what were once major roads, the site can still be accessible undetected. It is not considered safe to visit, not only due to being illegal, but also due to the site now contaminated, thanks to the different kinds of weapons tested. Some say this is also the dumping ground for Krhakov's larger failed experiments.
____________
BEYIS
Beyis is located to the very west of Terra Veteris. It is a land that has suffered many an internal struggle, with the north and south of the country divided by two different groups of people. The Helenese to the south and the Alpans to the north. It is a mediterranean country, the two cultures extremely similar to one another, but neither can stand the other due to the differences that they've had, both in cultures and in several disagreements. Even in a period of it's history they were split right in half, two countries themselves, Helena and Alpa, until war eventually brought the two together, becoming the united country today known as Beyis. Despite being in union, tensions are still rife between the two groups, and there has been the threat of civil war on a few occasions, until simmered down by other parties. At one stage too, Alpa owned far more land to the east of it’s territory, until the 1950s war resulted it in ending up in the hands of Evichy. It is one of the few disputed territories of Terra Veteris, though the current form of Beyis tries to keep things peaceful with it’s north-eastern neighbour, despite their tension.
They have a few industries to try and keep themselves independent, but they do rely on other nations' economies to make up for the shortfall, a mix of goods from both Authrum and Khrakov, though items from Authrum tend to be of far superior quality. They have a 1960s/1970s kind of mediterranean aesthetic. Beyis is largely democratic and tries to include a split mix of Helenese and Alpan representatives.
Notable locations of Beyis include.
Froma: The capital of Beyis. Literally sits on the border of the Helenese/Alpan line. It’s one of the very few places where you get a melting pot of both cultures. Also a very busy port, shipping goods to and from some of the other countries, like Untera, for example.
Ripidi Mountains: Located in the Alpan North, the Ripidi Mountains is a gorgeous peak that stretches quite a distance. It houses a small town of the same name. Once it was a trek to get to the mountains, but thanks to new technology, the railways in particular helps to make it far easier than it was before. Some say mystery lies in the mountains itself, including a cave that runs for miles, up and down along the peak. What does it hold? Nobody knows. Some say a temple, strange rocks, maybe a monster? Thanks to superstition, nobody has moved to tread inside.. and the Beyis Government forbids any tourist or explorer from trying, fearing great catastrophe will come if attempted.
Takalata Beach: Located in the Helenese South, the Takalata Beach is a long-stretching beach, beautiful and pristine, even with the many tourists flocking to the sunshine. It is a beach that seems to have great weather for the majority of the time. A town has since been made around it with inhabitants cashing in on the value, despite the outcry of some of the more concerned, traditional inhabitants that development will ruin the beach and spell disaster. It doesn’t help that past the beach lies a vast desert, but was only recently populated thanks to the connection of the trains and roads, bypassing the most dangerous areas. Rarely, the beach does experience abrupt violent sandstorms, though the development of outside weather systems has allowed them to better predict when they will come.
____________
EVICHY
Evichy (pronounced Eh-vih-shee) is a country in the northwest. Once a small part of the political game, in modern times acquired Wishlin Island, the Liaque Leg (Formerly the Ciabetti Leg), formerly a part of Beyis, as well as Maulonge, once a part of Harfolk. It wants to establish itself on the world stage, despite taking big risks in it's acquisitions, creating tensions with Beyis, Harfolk and in association with Harfolk, Authrum. Such countries question Evichy's motives, since it's not so much out of conquest as they believe it being scared of it's closest neighbour, Khrakov.
Evichy is distinctly French in culture and aesthetic, based in the 1960s/1970s. They are well known for their refined flair and rich arts. Some of the greatest art in Terra Veteris was painted by Evichese. They are also very dependent on imports, particularly more so from Authrum than Khrakov. They seem to have a particular distrust for the country as a whole, which extends to their goods. Evichy also has some industries going, particularly textiles, their fashion is known right around the world. They also are notable for their vast fields of picturesque flora. Many a botanist come to Evichy just to study the flowers. Evichy is wholly democratic, both for parliament and president.
Notable locations of Evichy include:
Teulais: the capital of Evichy. While a bustling city, the capital is rich in history and architecture, along with culture. Historic festivals, of all sorts including arts festivals, are traditionally held in Teulais. It's landmark is the magnificent Neulois Fountain, a magnificent, towering water fountain that stretches so far upwards. At night, it is lit in so many colours, or sometimes just in white, the light shows a sight to behold.
Liaque Leg: Formerly the Ciabetti Leg. Acquired in the 1950s war, initially to control the Mozzana Strait, but the acquisition was far more than expected. The inhabitants have mixed feelings about it. Many didn't seem to have a problem with the previous Alpan rulers, but many also have no issue with being under Evichy's rule. The leg itself is filled with Alpans and many don't want to get into a confrontation with the Evichese, considering their own issues with the Helenese back in Beyis.
Wishlin Island: The northernmost island of Terra Veteris. Filled with natives and some Evichese. It was once it's own nation until the 1950s war. Many believe it was a senseless power-grab by Evichy during the conflict, but the counter-claim is that the nation was falling apart and that it sought guidance, as well as a historic document from hundreds of years ago as being claimed by the nation of Evichy thanks to sea-faring explorers back in the day. It is a very scenic island and is a very popular tourist destination. The locals are starting to get wary of the attention, however.
Maulonge: Once a part of Harfolk, it was also acquired by Evichy during the 1950s war. The country itself was completely at risk, only just managing to be saved with the intervention of Authrum. As a token, Evichy was gifted with the western land. Still, there are tensions with the countries in question about the land. Harfolk and it’s residents clearly want it back. There is a reason Evichy is after the land, due to what it might hold.. and it’s little parcel is only part of what it seeks. As much as the country does look after the former people of Harfolk, the locals are very resentful of any Evichese that come upon their territory.
____________
UNTERA
Untera (Pronounced Oohn-terr-ah), otherwise known as the Unterreische Fatherland, is the eastern-most country of Terra Veteris. A land of it's own cultures, it is very traditional and regimental in it's ways. Imperialist, though kept to their own territories, it's only neighbour is Authrum. Relations tend to be friendly with Authrum, save for the western chunk of it's northern island now under occupation by Authrum, after it was once it's own nation. Untera wants to re-unify it's territory, but clearly it became independent for it's own reasons, now under Authrum's protection. It is said that Untera is believed to be part of Authrum from centuries ago and it has been stated that the language of Untera is considered to be the ‘Traditional’ Language, but in the 18th century, Untera split from Authrum to become it’s own nation, due to the shift in culture and tensions at the time.
Despite their regimentalism, they were on the side of Authrum in the 1950s war, having avoided the political tensions of Beyis, Evichy and Khrakov. The country is 1970s in culture, distinctly Germanic. It relishes in it's own history, but welcomes foreigners and tourists to discover the history of Untera. They tend to be very defending of their land, but they do not seek to claim any more than what is rightfully theirs... considering the only land that's left belongs to Authrum. They try to be independent with their economy, but tend to have a reliance on Authrum as well outside of private enterprise. Untera is set in old ways of governing, for while you can have democratically elected representatives, it is ultimately run by an emperor.
Notable locations of Untera include:
Galdinburg: The capital of Untera, located on the southern island, known as Sutriche. Galdinburg is probably the oldest looking capital city of it's size, deep in traditional architecture, especially in regards to Government departments. The city is home to a mass transit system that runs all over, both the inner CBD and the edges of the city. The architecture, food, the atmosphere are some of the many reasons come to visit Galdinburg, along with the Linwald Tower, constructed in 1965 to look all over and around the city. The view is spectacular.
Verschleife Peaks: A spectacular landscape of hills in Sutriche. The Verschleife Peaks hosts hills, forests, wildlife, as well as a few villages around who preserve the landscape and all that are a part of it. They do welcome some tourists, as long as they follow the customs and rules to keep the environment intact. They say at night, when the time is right, you can hear a choir sing at the highest hill. The cause for such a particular phenomena, at this time, is unknown, but many theories are circulated about.
Barondul Tower: A historic castle and tower located in Nordruche, the northern island of Untera. Once home to a series of aristorcrats and bureaucrats, the castle and tower now lay haunted, ever since the site of a massacre of all the nobles that occurred in the late 1980s. Abandoned, the buildings themselves have entered a bit of a state of disrepair. Some say the area has become haunted with the souls of the damned.. and that negative energy grows around the tower, especially at the very top. People also say the murdered were living a double life, as beings unnatural to Terra Veteris.
Lhune River: Located in Nordruche, the Lhune river is a lifeline that stretches all along the northern island, even into the section occupied by Authrum. Stretching along forests and valleys, they say the river is a lifeline to all the communities of Nordruche, not only in providing water in itself, but for the ecosystem, as well as being a popular tourist attraction. It tends to glow at night, mostly in a bright shine, but on the right night, you can see all sorts of colours, all throughout the river.
____________
HARFOLK
Harfolk is considered to be the smallest territory in Terra Veteris. It is a country that has been long disputed by several territories, particularly Evichy and Khrakov. Fertile in land, it is the least inhabited, but the most protected. The people prefer peaceful lives. They hate getting into conflict, especially being the subject of several border disputes and having to try and survive the war of the 1950s. They are wary of Evichy, considering the country has the western parcel of their territory, as well as being concerned of Khrakov's rate of expansion. They have an agreement with Authrum for protection, though the other two countries are suspicious as to why. Something exists in Harfolk which Authrum seems to know about, that they are concerned about, that they don't want ending up in the wrong hands. The problem is, what if word gets out?
Harfolk is distinctly English in culture, but they are a bit behind. 1970s in aesthetic, though they are receptive of Authrum's advancements. Who know how far they will grow with such assistance. Lush green lands dot the landscape, good for farming. They don't make much outside of agriculture, relying solely on Authrum for other goods. Since, they trust nobody else, not even Untera or Beyis. Harfolk is wholly democratic, but they do have at least one representative from Authrum.
Notable locations of Harfolk include:
Rikingham: The nation’s capital. A good standing city, modern in it’s own right, though with a bit of heritage here and there. The capital is mostly a business district with some dining and entertainment. Harfolk is pretty big on football and their biggest stadium exists in Rikingham.
Western Border: The Western Border of Harfolk, bordering Maulonge of Evichy. After the territory dispute, the community of Harfolk completely separated the two with a fence that ran right along the border, with checkpoints dotted all over. Welcoming to native and former Harfolk residents, distrusting to those of Evichy. The center of a big political dispute with said country, but naturally Harfolk is wary of Evichy.
Southern Border: Similar to the Western Border, but bordering the edge of Khrakov. This border tends to be heavier in manning, due to the nature and behaviour of Khrakov.
Welbin Plains: The lush plains of Harfolk. Many a world of green grass, even plenty of flora and forests. The most iconic part of the plains not only includes the farmland of many different products, but it has also become quite the wine region. Many award winning wines have come from the Welbin Plains, now available all over the globe (and some even beyond).
Skineland: Skineland is a rumour, of ancient ruins located in Harfolk, including a temple that, while large and vast, hosting many different artifacts, also houses a very large underground network. It is a location apparently only known to some inhabitants of Harfolk, the government of Harfolk.. and the United Government of Authrum. Strange energy radiates from the site, the temple.. but most importantly what is underground. Something is located deep underneath Skineland that has Authrum concerned. While an investigation is underway, the site and everything to do with it is being kept under wraps. Rumours of unlimited power, an energy that could unleash destruction, could be found in the deepest reaches of Skineland, that the name suggests something far greater. Saver for the investigation underway, there are no actual inhabitants of Skineland, having been abandoned for many a millennia.
____________
NIYON
Niyon is an archipelago of islands south of Authrum and Khrakov. It is a land that both encompasses modern technology, while being deeply seated in it's culture. Niyon is friendly with Authrum while wary of Khrakov, however the country keeps well away from political affairs, despite being a powerhouse of production and entertainment. They don't worry about the other countries so much, focussing more on themselves and what they can bring to the world.
Niyon is Japanese in culture and is the most advanced as far as aesthetics are concerned a 1980s/1990s feel, compared to everyone else. While Authrum are still world leaders in the technological side of things, Niyon aren't far behind, despite being much smaller. The islands encompass fields, mountains, forests, when it's not populated by bustling metropolis. Each island still has plenty of shrines regardless, along with traditional villages. There is plenty of agricultural land, even with their industry. Niyon is largely democratic, though the Emperor is considered a Royal position, passed down from parent to child when the parent dies.
Notable locations of Niyon include:
Minkyu: Niyon's capital city. Truly the most modern with the 1990s look. A huge district of business and entertainment, almost like Lobarr City in Authrum. Niyon is a baseball kind of country, it's biggest stadium, naturally, in Minkyu. Expect to see the city lit up in lights and advertisments of all sorts at night. It covers the centre of Inshu, the southern island.
Hokkaini: The western island. Probably the least populated district and the most traditional. Millions make pilgrimages to Hokkaini every year. Populated with shrines and ancient ruins, it’s also the home of the ‘Ancestor’s Fesitval’ celebrating heritage and culture in Niyon, which is also celebrated in Minkyu. Also highly agricultural.
Aishigana: The eastern island. Home of ‘Mount Hoshi’, the tallest peak in Niyon. It is a bit like Inshu in it’s mix of tradition and modern culture, though unlike Inshu, in which suburbia is further and further stretching out, Aishigana has more of a balance. It’s also setting itself up as a tourist attraction, using Niyon’s unique culture and media to create a special ‘Niyonese’ theme park, with both tradition and anime mixed in.
Okaitto: The north-eastern island. Home of Niyon’s manufacturing district, in conjunction with Inshu. Okaitto is a hub of industry and power generation, generally manufacturing vehicles and electrical goods to compete on the world stage, generally against Authrum and Khrakov. It’s home to some decent cities too. You can find some of Okaitto’s traditional roots in the right corners, if you know where to look.
Nabani: The north-western island. Nabani and Okaitto have their own competitive rivalry when it comes to sports. While not as traditional as Hokkaini, it was formerly the capital of Niyon back in it’s Imperial years, with a lot of it’s castles and sites now heritage listed. It does boast a few modern cities regardless, as well as being one of Niyon’s strategic military bases. It’s landscapes tend to make it a good location for filming too, similar to Hokkaini.
#Headcanon#Worlds#May be edited as more information comes#But this is the bulk of it pretty much!#Might also make for some good plots too in some locations#Like Skineland!

ANOTHER massive thing I cut because it’s 50% OOC and doesn’t contribute anything to the story.
/////
Magnus of Prospero first met me ten thousand years ago, when I was a thousand years old and roughly five times his age. He knew nothing of me until that day, and in the grand scheme of things our first meeting was utterly unimportant. It lasted no more than five minutes, and frankly any other Custodian could have been given the assignment that led our paths to cross.
Of course I’d known of Magnus long before he knew of me. The first time I saw him I was sixteen times his age, and that was no more than a glimpse caught from afar during the festivities thrown to welcome him as the newest found Primarch of the Imperium, fifty-six years old and the ninth lost son of the Emperor to be found.
At that time, I had dedicated my life to fighting, training, studying, and serving my Lord as one of his Custodians. Magnus had done the former three throughout the first fifty years of his life, but he also found the time to perform research in his field of study, lead a war against an army of telepathic parasites, and become the primary ruler over a city of a million or so inhabitants. He spent his days after rediscovery commanding armies and helping rule planets conquered for the Emperor, while I continued to serve our Lord as I had all my life.
But all of these events were over ten thousand years ago. Less than a century after our uneventful meeting, Magnus betrayed the Imperium, his brother Horus almost slew the Emperor, the galaxy was split in half, and the Imperium slowly deteriorated into an era of religious obsession and slow decay.
It is the 41st Millennium. For more than a hundred centuries The Emperor has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Earth. He is the Master of Mankind by the will of the gods, and master of a million worlds by the might of his inexhaustible armies. He is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with power from the Dark Age of Technology, and anyone with even cursory knowledge of the galaxy at large would know this already.
Space marines, Imperial Guard, tech priests, in the grim dark future there is only war. I lived in that world for ten millennia. I witnessed the slow decay of the galaxy, watched helplessly as the light of the Imperium was slowly snuffed out by heretics, aliens, mutants, and madness.
Then I discovered ancient technology known only as a ‘text to speech device’ and had it installed into the Emperor’s glorious golden throne. For the first time in ages, the Emperor can command his forces once again. Perhaps now there is hope for humanity. Perhaps now mankind has a future that is more than meaningless death and suffering. Already, the Emperor has begun to re-shape the Imperium, and for the first time in ages change is stirring throughout the galaxy.
Now I serve the Emperor directly, relaying his orders and carrying out his commands. Amongst these, I was the one who told the Emperor’s Most Glorious Space Marines- the Allmighty Ultramarines™)- to find and retrieve Magnus the Red. I had my own guesses as to why the Emperor wanted his wayward son back under his command, but what happened to Magnus wasn’t a major concern of mine. At least until he started following me through the halls of the palace.
He wasn’t really trying to hide his approach, or at least not trying very hard. Magnus wasn’t leaving the sort of loud booming footsteps one would normally expect for a giant in armor, but he wasn’t entirely silent either. And using your reflective surroundings to maximize your area of awareness was one of the most basic skills for an agent who works solo missions. In a palace of gold, every moderately clean surface was a mirror.
I kept walking for a few paces after I first noticed him. I’d assumed there was something of his interest in the area that I happened to pass by, but when I kept moving he kept pace with me.
When I stopped, so did Magnus. Reflections in a nearby archway showed me that after a few seconds Magnus vanished in a swirl of purple. I wasn’t sure if he had actually left or simply moved out of my sight, but as there was little I could do about it I resumed my journey. Some time later I heard a sound like loud wind behind me, and to my consternation I found Magnus had returned. Again, within a few minutes he teleported away.
Well, though his social lesser I might be, I wasn’t one to let him stalk me. Especially given that he was a daemon whose intentions might be considerably less than honorable. I veered off course to take a circular loop through the palace. I stopping whenever Magnus showed up, and after a few trials of this I noticed that doing so provoked anger in him. On the plus side this shortened his visits to just a few seconds. Eventually, I hit a checkpoint where the guards knew me by name and I stopped to give them my greetings. I stayed a bit longer than usual, hoping that Magnus would show up so I could see if social pressure might scare him off.
Alright, to be fair, with the powerful charismatic aura Magnus held I didn’t really expect the guards to stop him. And he was faster than I could ever be, and (allegedly) a shapeshifter to boot. As I was looping back to the place we’d started at I found myself catching glimpses of his reflection more often than I needed to, and thought to myself, ‘It’s so exciting to hold the attention of someone so large.’
Then I thought, ‘Okay. That’s quite enough of that. Stop romanticizing the daemon who broke the Golden Throne and start dealing with your potentially world-breaking stalker.’
Primarch charisma is extremely potent, but that’s certainly no excuse for my behavior.
I kept up a fast pace as we reached our starting point, so that when I stopped Magnus would keep moving and bridge the gap between us a little. It didn’t work as well as I hoped, as I turned about to face him there was still a few meters between us.
“Is there something you needed?” I asked him. Magnus’ eye widened for a moment, before he huffed, leaned against a nearby pedestal[1]and waved a hand flippantly at me.
////To put SOMEWHERE in the rewritten version:
“You!” Magnus said. “Custodian!”
I was the only Custodian in the area, and I wasn’t surprised that he didn’t remember my name. “Yes?” I said.
“Don’t mind me. Just getting re-acquainted with this place.” The pedestal next to him cracked loudly, and he pulled back. “It sure has been a while.”
“…Right.” I said, unwilling to start a fight when I already had too much work to do. “Well, is there anything you needed from me, or can I go?”
“Am I interrupting you?” Magnus said, “Don’t mind me. Just, go about doing whatever task it is you need to do.”
I opened my mouth to point out that he was following me, but stopped myself. Dishonored traitor or not, Magnus was a Primarch, and as such held a level of prestige far above me. Instead I turned back around and continued on my way.
Three minutes later he appeared directly in front of me. “Has the message to the Ultramarines been sent yet?” He said, oblivious to my panic.
As I de-activated my spear I replied, “Um, no, no I was just on my way to do that.” As soon as I finished speaking he was gone again. My first concern was that the he might have plans to intercept the message, or to send a fake before I arrived. I began to hurry, though given the scale of the palace admittedly that would still give Magnus a good deal of time to fulfil whatever plan he had in mind.
I didn’t see Magnus again for an hour or so after that. I was ready to chalk the whole thing up to boredom, but he came back scowling and muttering to himself. It wasn’t until I got within seeing distance of the City of Sight that I heard him groan ”Finally!” And once again Magnus vanished through the warp.
I passed through the gates before it hit me, ‘Did he not know where this place was?’ For any other Primarch I might’ve understood, as it had been several millennia. Magnus was THE strongest psyker alive bar the Emperor, surely he would be able to sense the presence of several hundred other psykers a few miles away. Honestly sabotage still seemed more likely.
But I still had a mission to complete, so brushing it off, I made my way to the Obsidian Keep. The Astropathic Choir on Terra is one of the more important orders, but bureaucracy is bureaucracy and there’s always going to be a check-in desk. And a waiting line.
[1]The pedestal used to house a fully accurate solid gold model to scale of an Imperator class battleship. Said model had been knocked over one too many times and was now awaiting repairs alongside all the other priceless treasures formerly on display. Nobody bothered to move the pedestal because it still served as a good speed bump for anyone racing through the palace halls.

Terra-Magna
Terra-Magna is an Earth-like planet in which lifeforms like Matoran, Toa, Makuta, Skakdi, non-sapient Rahi, and plants reside.
It is currently the only known planet in its solar system with signs of life. Life started when Ignita, the Spirit of Life, shed a tear onto the surface of the newly-formed planet during the Stability Eon (just think of the Archean Eon), initiating the Vivacity Eon (basically our own Phanerozoic Eon) with the first prokaryotic Rahi. Ignita shed a tear because her sons and daughters (the Spirits of the elements we all are familiar with in BIONICLE) would not stop disputing over who shall rule over this planet.
As a result from the dispute of the Elemental Spirits battling over the planet, Terra-Magna ended up being a chaotic mess full of various elements, causing regions and ecosystems in which Rahi evolved and adapted to their surroundings.
Now as a way to keep the planet in check, the Spirits nowadays have responsibilities for each activity of Terra-Magna, whether it’d be its volcanoes and magnetic fields, to its oceans and plantlife. The Spirits are especially careful currently due to letting Terra-Magna once suffer through a meteor named Magmageddon, killing many dinosaur Rahi and leaving mammal Rahi a chance to evolve.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Each continent has a name and nation they’re based on:
The one on the top left is Zakara, modeled very much after the United States, Mexico, and Mesoamerica and Native America during ancient times.
Directly right of Zakara is Driah, an island based very much off of Alaska for its scarcity of sunlight, and culturally modeled after the Middle East and 1800′s America and England.
Originally during the Third Phase, Archoko, which was just above Zakara, was essentially modeled after Canada. Unfortunately, Achoko has since been destroyed in the battle between Toa Conua and Makuta Shaddex.
Directly below it is Uniki, modeled after the United Kingdom (in which it was named after).
The very top is Polara, modeled after Russia (climate-wise and culture-wise) and Italy (culture-wise).
The top right is Duanja, modeled after China, Japan, and Mongolia (climate-wise and culture-wise).
Below Duanja is Moccoto, modeled after Africa (climate and culture-wise).
The one below Moccoto is Skakdinavia, an obvious model and pun after the Scandinavian regions of Europe.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Terra-Magna has a moon that is yellow in color, and is less cratered than the moon of our planet. Terra-Magna’s moon was formed during a planet collision due to the frustration of one of the Spirits (Onutaros, Spirit of Earth) attempting to destroy Terra-Magna in order to stop the discourse over ruling it. The moon now serves as the creator of the ocean tides of Terra-Magna, as Onutaros has since been demanded by Gatrina (Spirit of Water) to fix the formerly destroyed Great Ocean.

Planet’s satellites offer customers a new world view every day
BUILT by the Indian Space Research Organisation, the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle threw itself into the sky at 3.58am GMT on February 15th. It took with it a record-breaking 104 satellites—88 of which belonged to a single company, Planet, a remote sensing business based in San Francisco. Planet now has 149 satellites in orbit—enough for it to provide its customers with new moderately detailed images of all the Earth’s land surface every single day.
The satellites Planet makes—it calls them “doves”—measure 10cm by 10cm by 30cm. The first doves, launched five years ago, could send back pictures of just 3,000 square kilometres a day. But the satellites have followed a trajectory of improvement much closer to that seen in cell-phones—from which they get some of their components—than the established satellite industry. The latest doves can cover 2.5m square kilometres a day.
The expanded fleet of satellites will send over 3 terabytes of data a day to more than 30 receiver stations spread around the Earth. After processing to remove distortions and to locate each image, the data will be in the cloud and ready for the company’s clients within hours.
Planet does not provide many details about its customers, but Will Marshall, the company’s CEO, says that it has over 100. Some are spooks, historically the biggest consumers of satellite images. But though Planet has spoken of a big contract with the relevant American outfit, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, Mr Marshall says the NGA is not his biggest customer. Other buyers include mapmakers, financial companies and multinationals—especially those in the energy sector with widespread assets.
Providing daily updated images of the whole surface of the Earth fulfils one of the goals Planet had at its founding in 2010, since when it has raised capital of $183m. That does not mean it will stop launching doves; among other things, passing over the same place more than once a day increases the chances of a shot unobscured by cloud. But turning its unique product into an ever bigger earner is the priority.
A key to doing so is processing the images to answer pressing questions: what has changed since yesterday? Is that illegal logging? What does the number of containers in these ports suggest about trade balances? Planet will be providing more such analysis itself, but there are also third parties eager to play. SpaceKnow, a startup which focuses on turning satellite data into analysis the financial community will pay for, has just raised $4m.
Satellites alone do not make a good business, as illustrated by the fate of an earlier startup, Terra Bella. Formerly known as Skybox, it made SkySat satellites and was bought by Google for $500m in 2014 amid fanfare. But in recent weeks Google sold the firm to Planet in an equity deal which almost certainly gave Terra Bella a much lower valuation; at the same time, it became a big customer for Planet’s data.
This is the second time Planet has snapped up satellites from a rival in trouble, and the deal could work out well. The resolution available from the doves, three to five metres, is a bit coarser than many consumers of satellite data are used to. The larger Terra Bella satellites can pick out features less than a metre across. Mr Marshall says Planet is interested in developing software whereby the new sharper-eyed satellites would automatically take pictures of places where the doves had spotted something change between one day and the next.
Planet is not the only company using small satellites to produce big data; the launch on February 15th also carried up eight ship-tracking satellites owned by Spire, just a couple of streets away from Planet. The companies hope that, as more and more customers come to see the value of an endlessly updated, easily searchable view of the world, insights from satellites will become ever more vital to the data-analysis market. The more normal their wares start to seem, the more spectacular their future may be.

Ulysse Nardin Diver X Antarctica – an ode to ice: Terra Australis, as Antarctica was formerly called – the last continent to be discovered and the Earth’s southernmost, most hostile landmass – has been a source of fascination for explorers, scientists and historians for the two centuries since it was first sighted. A place of mystery and intrigue, the frozen tip of the planet has been fabled destination and source of fascination since Aristotle wrote about a possible Antarctic region in his tome Meteorology circa 350 BC.

Terra Australis, as Antarctica was formerly called – the last continent to be discovered and the Earth’s southernmost, most hostile landmass – has been a source of fascination for explorers, scientists and historians for the two centuries since it was first sighted. A place of mystery and intrigue, the frozen tip of the planet has been fabled destination and source of fascination since Aristotle wrote about a possible Antarctic region in his tome Meteorology circa 350 BC.
Ulysse Nardin Diver X Antarctica
In an ode to the essence of exploration and all it entails, Ulysse Nardin has designed the DIVER X ANTARCTICA. An avatar in the world of watchmaking, the ANTARCTICA model of the DIVER X is a watch that brings the “X-factor” to tackle world’s roughest seas – in honor of the modern-day Ulysses who choose to risk exploring this daunting, dangerous place, literally located at the end of the Earth. With its light blue icebergs and frozen ocean, beacons of an age long past, Antarctica has no longitude coordinates, only a location of 90° latitude.
Sebastian Copeland
Sebastian Copeland is a photographer who uses his artistic work to communicate messages of urgent global significance. A friend of the Swiss watch manufacture Ulysse Nardin since November 2019 he joined the brand’s armada of modern explorers known as “Team of Ulysses” together with other free-spirited watermen and women: Fred Buyle, Alex Caizergues, Mathieu Crepel, Sebastien Destremau, Ben Thouard and Alessia Zecchini. Sebastian’s images have been seen around the world and his books are a reference for modern explorers as well as for those merely curious about the extreme climate; the cold, dry and windblown, least inhabited continent on Earth. On the centennial 2011-2012 season of the South Pole, with partner Eric McNair-Landry, Sebastian spent more than his fair share of time in the field, witnessing this marvel of time untouched firsthand. He led the first East/West transcontinental crossing of Antarctica by skis and kites via two of its poles, setting three world records over the 4100 kilometers during an expedition through the polar desert that lasted a grueling 82 days. Sebastian is planning a new expedition to cross the Arctic Ocean in 2021.
Antarctica
The fruit of Sebastian’s labor has been seen on the National Geographic Channel, CNN, in the New York Times and Paris Match, among others. He is a devoted proponent of environmental conservation and his published books are a living testament to his crusade. “Helping people fall in love with their world,” he says, ”is a catalyst to wanting to save it”.
Antarctica
A polar symphony of light and ice, the Ulysse Nardin Diver X ANTARCTICA is an extension of his deep love and respect for the planet. “Ulysse Nardin is a brand as devoted to our planet’s oceans as I am. I believe that our partnership will bring important benefits to all parties concerned and, hopefully, raise awareness of what we need to do to take better care of this great blue planet.”
Antarctica
DIVER X ANTARCTICA
A matte white rubber strap recalls the clean and austere lines of the Earth’s Southernmost Continent with ice blue touches on the dial reflecting the icebergs floating in the sea there. The Ulysse Nardin brand element is prominent under the sand-blasted dial. The bezel – in a white rubber – matches the watch strap. Its UN-118 movement guarantees accuracy in any hemisphere at any time of the day or night. The gray face is marked with a bold and elegant “X”. The crown, horns and case back are all made from titanium.
Ulysse Nardin Diver X Antarctica
The stamp on the back of the watch details not only the coordinates of the Antarctic Continent: 90° latitude (with no longitude necessary for the landmass located at the southernmost tip of the Earth) but also the route of the Vendée Globe sailing race, of which Ulysse Nardin has become the official sponsor.

In 2018, the French Sénat awarded Sebastian with the prestigious solo exhibition around the gates of the Luxembourg gardens. This public exhibit of 80 large panels of Sebastian’s polar photographs reached 4 million visitors over the four months with an urgent climate message.
A personal commitment to fight for the protection of the environment and a relentless pursuit of a sustainable future has led Sebastian to focus on visual arts as a tool for social change. Since 1999, Sebastian has worked closely with Global Green USA (the US arm of President Gorbachev’s Green Cross International), where he serves on the Board of Directors. A life-long waterman, climber and mountaineer, Sebastian has specialized his adventure skills to polar exploration, and re-tooled his commercial photography roots into Fine Art as a medium for activism. Since 1999, he has led various expeditions to the Polar regions. Sebastian spearheaded a media effort in the Arctic in 2005 in defense of the Inuit. He spent two seasons (2006 and 2007) aboard a scientific research icebreaker in the Antarctic Peninsula. In 2008 with partner Luc Hardy, Sebastian led a team of nine children from international nationalities to the northernmost Canadian Arctic as the Young Ambassadors of the Arctic. In March 2009, Sebastian led a mission to what is widely considered the most difficult expedition in the world: the geographical North Pole. He and his partner Keith Heger walked seven hundred kilometers to commemorate the centennial of Admiral Peary’s reach in 1909. Sebastian chronicled the mission in his first documentary Into The Cold: A Journey Of The Soul. The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and has won multiple international awards.
In 2010, Sebastian and his partner Eric McNair-Landry spent 43 days crossing the Greenland ice sheet using skis and kites and without outside support. During the 2300 kilometers crossing, they set a new world record for longest distance traveled on kites and skis over one twenty-hour period by covering 595 kilometers. The trip was chronicled in Sebastian’s second documentary film, Across The Ice (2015) produced for Red Bull Media House.
On the centennial 2011-2012 season of the South Pole, again with partner Eric McNair-Landry, Sebastian led the first East/West transcontinental crossing of Antarctica by skis and kites via two of its poles, setting three world records over the 4100 kilometers/82 days expedition. In 2016, Sebastian and partner Mark George completed the longest unsupported East-West crossing of the Simpson Desert, Australia’s driest area.
The expedition was a training exercise for his second mission to the North Pole from Canada, in winter 2017, perhaps the last of its kind due to the rapidly melting ice.
That North Pole mission was dramatically aborted due to severe frostbites. In 2021, Sebastian will undertake to complete mission, purporting to be the last team in history to reach the pole from land. As an international speaker on climate crisis, Sebastian has been featured on television and radio (Larry King Live, CBS, NPR, Air America) and has addressed audiences at the United Nations, the COP21 in Paris, the World Affairs Council, the General Assembly on Climate in New Orleans, the George Eastman House, Hewlett Packard, Google Headquarters, VF Corp and to Apple’s Senior Design Team amongst others. He has spoken at Universities, museums and embassies, as well as international climate summits addressing the systemic geopolitical consequences of climate change. In 2011, Sebastian founded the SEDNA foundation whose mission is to report from the front lines of climate change. Sebastian is a regular contributor to Men’s Journal, The Huffington Post, and Al Gore’s 24 hours of Climate Reality.
In 2008, Sebastian was named German GQ’s Man of the Year for environmental leadership. In 2009, he received the Founder’s Award from Global Green USA, and in 2010 the Gala Award for his environmental stewardship. He was commended twice by the City of Los Angeles, in 2005 and 2009, and received the Green Good Design Award from the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design in 2014. In 2016, Eckart Witzigmann and BMW honored Sebastian with the Eckart ‘16 Award for Personal Engagement. In 2018, Sebastian received the Medal of Light from Thailand’s cultural minister for “sustained excellence in the art of photography”. In 2018, Sebastian followed in the footsteps of Jane Goodall and Arnold Schwarzenegger when he received the Bambi award in Germany, in the “Unsere Erde” (“Our Earth”) category. In 2019, French President Macron will knight Sebastian in the National Order of Merit.
He is a brand ambassador for Napapjri clothing and Herbalife. Past and current sponsors include Hewlett Packard, REVO sunglasses (both as brand ambassador), Canon, Lexar, MSR, Rossignol, Nemo, Ozone Kites, MSR, Organic Foodbar and Hilleberg tents among others. Since November 2019 Sebastian is a friend of the Swiss watch manufacture Ulysse Nardin and joined the brand’s armada of modern explorers known as “Team of Ulysses” together with other free-spirited watermen: Fred Buyle, Alex Caizergues, Mathieu Crepel, Sebastien Destremau, Ben Thouard and Alessia Zecchini.
Sebastian has two daughters with his wife, Carolin. He is a member of the Explorer’s Club and the International Glaciology Society, and currently lives between Los Angeles and Munich.

Culture Wars (Monster Hunter Nation): Here’s a fascinating demonstration of just how stupid and backwards the political gatekeepers in fiction really are. This week author Dan Simmons wrote a post about Greta the Climate Scold, and because his opinion went against left wing orthodoxy, a bunch of virtue signalling morons threw a fit.
Historical Fiction (DMR Books): Swords are a recurring feature of Talbot Mundy’s stories, as we will see as we continue our look at his work. This is especially true of his tales set in central and southern Asia, but before we begin discussing yataghans and chooras, let’s take a look at four of the blades that would have been used the armies of Rome and her enemies in Tros’s time. Keep in mind that swords that were used on the battlefield were quite different from the swords that are commonly seen in anime, comics and cover art. For one thing, they must obey the laws of Physics.
Robert Heinlein (PR News): One of the year’s most significant science
Robert A. Heinlein
fiction releases is a new novel by Robert A. Heinlein, a rediscovered manuscript titled The Pursuit of the Pankera. Heinlein is, arguably, one of the best-known writers of science fiction, with titles like Starship Troopers, Stranger in a Strange Land and The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. Known as the “dean” of science fiction, he died in 1988 but his books continue to sell worldwide and are often made into movies and TV series.
Robert E. Howard (Adventures Fantastic): Kane and another man, calling himself Gaston l”Armon, have stopped at an isolated inn somewhere in the Black Forest. The innkeeper isn’t a friendly sort, but he serves them a meal and then shows them to their room. A room down a dark corridor. A room with no bar for the door. Kane and l’Armon go looking for a bar in one of the other rooms, neither trusting the innkeeper. They stumble upon a secret closet in a room at the end of the corridor, where they find a skeleton chained to the floor.
D&D (Blog That Time Forgot): The Beithir is one of many serpentine creatures one can find in the folklore of Scotland – all the more unusual, since the moors & glens aren’t exactly the ideal habitat for reptiles. The fact that one beast devoured seven horses (which I hinted towards in the illustration) suggests it was a mite larger than Scotland’s modern reptiles, like the adder or the slow worm.
Science Fiction (Best British Fantasy): It took me over 10 years to find all 33 books in the Dumarest of Terra series, a far-ranging and rollicking set of science fiction novels by Edwin Charles (E.C.) Tubb, concerning Earl Dumarest, formerly of Terra, who stowed away as a child on a spaceship and now, as an adult, finds himself very far from home and wanting only to return. Earl possess genetically superior luck and is inordinately fast with his reflexes when he chooses to be (mostly to the detriment of those whom he reluctantly kills who barely have time to gasp “too fast, he was just too fast….” before they die of a chest wound).
Writing (Mad Genius Club): We’re all familiar with the terrible trope of action movies (and cop shows) where a guy takes a bullet, and then in the end of the episode, he has his arm in a sling, but he’s all better by the end of the movie / very next episode. In the really real world, people don’t end up with a little artistic bruising or smudge of blood or soot, and walk, run, and fight perfectly…acrobatically and dramatically.
Art (DMR Books): Wollheim’s instincts for spotting promising artistic talent were second to none in the entire history of the field. In fact, I considered just typing, “Frank Frazetta and Michael Whelan. Mic drop.” While Don always had an eye for a pretty picture, it was during the long decade betwixt 1962 and 1975 that he consistently kept hitting it out of the park as an art director, giving artists new to the field—and soon to be legends in their own right—their first shots at doing cover work for the American paperback market.
D&D (Skulls in the Stars): CB1: Conan Unchained (1984), by David Cook. As a company, TSR was not immune to the allure of making more money by licensing deals. Later, I’ll discuss some products that will blow your mind! One of the more obvious choices was to take advantage of the popularity of a certain barbarian, and the actor who played him!
Hard Boiled (Rough Edges): I first encountered Frederick Nebel’s work in the iconic 1965 anthology THE HARDBOILED DICKS, which made me a fan of hardboiled pulp crime fiction ever since. Editor Ron Goulart included one of Nebel’s Kennedy and MacBride stories, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. But then for years after that, I didn’t read much by Nebel since there just wasn’t a lot available. Half a dozen of his stories were collected in the paperback SIX DEADLY DAMES, but I never came across a copy of it.
Paperbacks (Paperback Warrior): Author David Morrell’s 1972 action-thriller “First Blood” was a runaway hit, eventually adapted to film in 1982 and kick-starting the ‘Rambo’ franchise that’s still thriving today. Attempting overnight success, many authors and publishers exploited the idea and began releasing similar novels featuring wilderness pursuits, small town sheriffs and ex-military survivalists. As good as author Brian Garfield is, I’ve got solid evidence that his 1973 Fawcett Gold Medal novel “Relentless” may have been imitating the “First Blood” literary phenomenon.
Horror (To Much Horror Fiction): Late ’80s and early ’90s horror writer Gene Lazuta was born on this date in 1959. Lazuta wrote several paperback originals under pseudonyms (as well as a mystery series), but did not continue his career as a horror author; indeed, you can see his professional bio here. While the cover art is striking and in keeping with totemic pulp horror imagery—drippy typeface, fangs, skulls, hands crawling out of eyes.
Genre Fiction (The Silver Key): If S&S is only Howard, and defined only by what he wrote, then it’s not a genre. It’s the works of a single man. Howard created sword-and-sorcery in the 1920s, but he did not consciously set out to do so. He was trying to tell entertaining stories of blood and thunder, and make a living. When he died in 1936 there were very few indications sword-and-sorcery would survive, let alone flourish. It had a lot more growing to do.
Fiction (Ty Johnston): This was more space fantasy than true fantasy, but it still rocked along with plenty of monsters and sword-swinging action. In the far future, Earth is ruled from another planet by the Dream Lords, semi-benevolent humans with vast powers of the mind. Yet the world of the Dream Lords is crumbling as one evil figure vies for their power. Fortunately, this evil being is thwarted by the mighty thews of our hero, an heir to being one of the Dream Lords.
Gaming (Walker’s Retreat): In short, making a hobby normie-friendly is a mistake. Gates exist. They will be kept. Either you hold those gates to keep those who do not belong out, or they will hold those gates to keep you–the rightful hobbyist–out of the very domain you made possible. To that end, having some barriers to entry is good. Uninituitive mechanics is one. Liminality is another; liminality is anathema to normies, who are too often NPCs requiring a script to execute to function, and liminality confounds that entirely.
Cinema (Unz.com): Todd Phillips’ much-anticipated new film Joker is an origin story starring Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck, who becomes the Joker. Frankly, both of Ledger’s origin stories are more interesting. The question on everybody’s mind is: How does Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker compare to Heath Ledger’s?
D&D (Goodman Games): “Co-author of Dungeons & Dragons games?” What did that mean, I asked myself. I could not recall ever hearing of this David L. Arneson before and now, suddenly, here he was before my eyes, being touted as having had a hand in the creation of my beloved D&D. How was this possible? How had I never come across him before? I quickly consulted the rulebook of the Basic Set and, lo and behold, there was his name on the title page: “By Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson.”
Comic Books (Lovecraft E-zine): That said, Swamp Thing originally came out of the gate roaring, the creation of two legends in the comics industry having a blast. The two individuals in question would be the writer Len Wein and the artist Bernie Wrightson. Len Wein wrote for every major superhero book published by Marvel and DC from the time he entered the field in the very early seventies until shortly before his death in 2017.

[HM][SF] An Archaeologist's Shopping Spree
Year: 4512. Voice translation into classic American English. Holographic log of Dr. Vincent Kramer, Archaeologist, Terra Research.
Day 1.
We are now departing from the Terra space station. I am being sent to explore a site on the northern hemisphere of Earth, formerly called Sweden. Finally, the reterraforming of our former home is complete, now that it has been uninhabitable for a millennium after the great ice age brought about by the impact of asteroid XB51 in the year 2075. Fortunately we have developed the technology to migrate to an exoplanet. Living for five years on the space station gave me a bit of space dementia whenever I look at our planet. This term is overused in science fiction to such an extent that people have lost the desire to research its meaning by taking it for granted. I think a band even wrote and performed a song about it way back before my great- (n?) grandparents were born and everyone still lived on Earth. It is supposed to be good so I will check it out when we return. Alright. We are now preparing to land and meet the team comprised of archaic language expert Dr. Camille Lin and team leader Dr. Philip Hodgson. I am truly curious what they have found.
RESEARCH FINDINGS, Excavation site:
FACT: Translated from the placard at the entrance, the excavation site used to be a fallout shelter. According to retrieved digital archives of a search provider called Google, found at a site on the western part of the American continent, this is one of 65,000 fallout shelters in this part of the Earth. Human skeletons were found inside together with other artifacts which were surprisingly well preserved.
THEORY: The fallout shelter was built by humans to survive a nuclear war. They have repurposed the shelter to survive the ice age after the asteroid impact but still perished due to insufficient supplies. Artifacts may have been personal possessions and/or sources of physical and/or emotional comfort.
PERSONAL THOUGHTS: Humans must have been a truly violent species during this time when the threat of nuclear warfare warrants the construction of such an abode. Thankfully, with the advance of genetic engineering and the understanding of the human brain at its core we were able to manipulate the limbic system in general and the amygdala in particular and successfully bred out any desire for power and violence, thereby creating the united, mutually protective and intellectually guided species that we have always aspired to become.
Day 2
Ocular inspection proved to be inconclusive for most of the artifacts found in the shelter, in particular the smaller ones that were found in bags, The larger artifacts were easier to identify. There were also lots of vessels.
RESEARCH FINDINGS, Artifacts:
FACT: According to Dr. Hodgson, the bulkier artifacts were probably furniture and are made up of an ancient building material called wood, which was obtained from large perennial plants otherwise known as trees. The vessels are made from a type of earth. Based on the bulb the tall pole with the wide base was a lamp. The smaller artifacts were thin, flat rectangular items made of metal and glass and had an engraving on the metal side reading "SAMSUNG" or "iPhone". There also exists rather primitive electrical equipment found with those items consisting of a cable with non-identical terminals on both ends. There are also smaller vessels that resemble bottles made from a rather soft yet stable material of unknown origin. There is also an artifact consisting of two rectangular glasses connected to a wire frame with foldable handles.
THEORY: The furniture seems to comprise of chairs, tables, beds and cabinets which appear to have been assembled on site following a rather complicated procedure. There are cracks on some of the wooden artifacts which may have been intentional. The vessels are probably used to support plant life. They appeared to be the pinnacle of human artistry, yet a quick glance at the Google archives disproved this theory as those vessels were mechanically created with little human intervention. As for the smaller artifacts, their purpose still remains unclear.
PERSONAL THOUGHTS: One thing that is admirable about humanity in the past is their willingness to endure hardships coupled with determination to succeed at any cost. Problem solving instead of comfort. I drew this conclusion after looking at some of the wooden artifacts.
Day 3
Further exploration of the artifacts within the shelter revealed a word that appears on almost all of the larger items, the furniture, the vessels and the lamp. The word is "IKEA". Personally, I am unable to decipher its meaning, thus I am submitting my findings to Dr. Lin.
RESEARCH FINDINGS, Word found on artifacts:
FACT: According to Dr. Lin, who has ready access to archived files from Google on her holographic computer, "IKEA" means "Ingvar Kamprad Elmtaryd Agunnaryd". There is also another interpretation of the word meaning "I Know Everything Already". Archives show it to be what was then called a corporation. A legal entity practicing commerce or trade with the public which, in this case, involved manufacturing furniture and appliances.
THEORY: It was deduced that the second interpretation "I Know Everything Already" pertaining to the artifacts at hand made little sense and was quickly dismissed. In the other interpretation, the first two words seem to represent the name of the creator of those items and the last two, his place of residence. Kamprad is revealed to be a billionaire in long defunct fiat currency.
PERSONAL THOUGHTS:
It is interesting that in those times, humans were not self sufficient due to the lack of modern technology and overpopulation and, therefore, had to rely on corporations to provide them with their means of living. We still have corporations now but only for things beyond our individual influence. Back on Earth 2, everything is made of carbon fibers. If I want a dining room table for a special occasion, I instruct my 3D printer to create one. After that, we recycle it and feed it back to our printers for something else. Billionaires in digital currency is nothing special anymore. The richest person is a quadrillionaire who mines asteroids, undertakes space travel to explore and colonize other planets and manufactures the technologies that make us self sufficient as a species and ensure immortal life. The man who defeated death. That is beyond our control.
Day 4
Dr. Lin found out that the wire frame with two glasses is a reading aid and the rectangular artifacts are some sort of communication device. All these items will be showcased in the new Museum of Human History upon terrestrial repopulation. We have replicated an electrical outlet for which this communication device was made and use the ship's electricity to power it. In the age of holographic communication, this device has become utterly useless. If I were to travel back in time, I presume I have to get used to talking to somebody while holding something in my hand. It has other functions as well. A music player. It even has Space Dementia by Muse on it. I assume those plugs are for my ears. Alright, time to leave. Good song. Sort of catchy. Dark orchestral background but catchy. I'm singing along. My colleagues probably think I have lost my mind.

Lifestyles In the Sun's Earth Solar Gadget
New Post has been published on https://beingmad.org/lifestyles-in-the-suns-earth-solar-gadget/
Lifestyles In the Sun's Earth Solar Gadget
Introduction to Existence Inside the Solar and Solar gadget Tool: People and our associated household at the 0.33 rock out from the Solar are lords of Life paperwork Inside the Solar Machine. But, we are not precise lords, simply lords. Different abodes Inside the Sun Device, maximum probably Mars, Jupiter, Europa, and Saturn are anywhere from possible to in all likelihood habitable abodes to easy microbial Lifestyles office work; in all likelihood a few component barely above and past that. Taking each living house in flip…
Solar
But first a pat at the once more for the only’s terrestrial microbes; all the one’s germs, micro organism, unicellular critters or maybe viruses (even though viruses, depending on your perception of their absolutely being alive as we generally outline ‘alive’ may exclude them from this dialogue). They may be difficult, I mean they boldly pass, live on, or maybe thrive wherein even angels fear to tread, ways much fewer Human beings.
Microbes can stay in environments wherein Extraordinary multicellular critters moreover worry to tread and regularly cannot: from the coldest terrestrial environments, up to the near boiling temperatures, from deep underground to the heights of the surroundings, from internal water-cooled nuclear reactors and the interior of rocks, to intensely saline, acidic and alkaline environments, to ecosystems wherein the Sun and Solar system by no means shines, just like the abyssal depths.
They’re able to even survive the outer area. micro organism survived at the floor of the Moon – on Surveyor 3. This becomes in all likelihood the maximum substantial discovery of the complete Apollo Moon software and it on occasion even rated a mention. Astronauts from the Apollo 12 challenge added lower back to Earth additives of the unmanned Surveyor 3 Lunar Lander. The terrestrial micro organism on the one’s components survived the lunar vacuum, Sun and Solar system radiations (UV, and so on.), the large temperature extremes, and lack of water and vitamins. Experiments considering that performed in low earth orbit have proven that given simply minimal defensive, the micro organism can indeed boldly go!
You’ll be aware of how hard it is to absolutely sterilize some thing, be it medical institution machine or a spacecraft positive for a Martian landing. They’re difficult – have you ever ever study approximately a mass extinction occasion in which a bacterial species, not like say the multicellular dinosaurs, went poof? Microbes are easy to transport. They may be blasted off the surface of the Earth, blanketed against radiation by using the particles and stay to inform the tale to land on a few Different worldwide and be fruitful and multiply. There may be absolute confidence that someplace manner to be had, terrestrial micro organism have hitched a experience to the celebrities, bolding entering into which hundreds of microbes have long gone earlier than! Translated, I firmly assume that the universe (which includes our Solar and Sun system device) is teaming with microbial Life in all kinds of places. The less than glamorous capture is that LGM isn’t going to face for Little Green Men, But Little Inexperienced Microbes.
In the global, microbes rule, Right sufficient? The biomass of all the one’s bacteria, and lots of others. prepare effortlessly equals the biomass of each Different multicellular plant and animal delivered collectively. One have to with out troubles argue that microbes, not People, are the jewels in God’s crown – He made so numerous them, and talk approximately being fruitful and multiplying. The variety and mass of micro-organisms are many orders of significance more than the numbers and collective mass of humanity. If fact, there are hundreds of lots of microbes living inner you – maximum beneficial. In truth, it may also be argued that you are nothing greater than a complex colony of billions of unicellular organisms – your character cells that make you, you.
Microbes have some Different determined benefit over greater complex Lifestyles forms, like flowers. Solar electricity (photosynthesis) isn’t the most effective form of strength available to organisms. Even On earth, there are masses of organisms, in particular, unicellular ones, that use chemosynthesis because the technique through which they without delay derive their electricity wishes, at once as in from the chemical compounds in their environment. These days we understand a great deal about chemosynthesis and the organisms that could produce organics from inorganic substances and derive electricity from the way.
While I used to be an excessive faculty biology pupil (1962-63), it modified into specific gospel (and no correspondence is probably entered into opposite) that our Sun turned into the be all and forestall all of the Lifestyles of terrestrial Life. No Sun; no Existence. All Life ultimately trusted photosynthetic vegetation which in turn could not exist without daylight. And on the equal time as we do not get our electricity immediately via photosynthesis, we are still dependent on Solar and Sun device strength for the purpose that we eat the plants or the animals that devour the flowers.
A broadly recognized, if the little-understood instance of chemosynthesis is the colonies of microbes (dubbed ‘rusticles’) which is probably consuming the iron form of the RMS Great, resting some 4 kilometers under the floor of the North Atlantic. Inside each Other technology or two, the well-known shipwreck will be essentially eating up thru microbes, with none gain bestowed through our Solar and Sun machine. additionally, from the marine environment, the complete ecological groups’ component and parcel of hydrothermal vent structures are ultimately based totally on chemosynthesis.
From terrestrial environments to the ones of outer area and our Sun system is However possibly a small step for microbes. Even decrease returned Inside the one’s immoderate school days, But, I seem to recollect hypothesis by means of the use of no tons less a scientist than the overdue Carl Sagan about the possibility of a non-photosynthetic primarily based definitely ecology Within the ecosystem of Jupiter which gladdened my coronary heart no give up – However, it wasn’t Jupiter that broke the photosynthetic mold, But suitable vintage Mom Earth herself as it hydrothermal vent ecosystems among many others now stated. So gospel ain’t gospel to any extent further!
Now once more to taking each dwelling house in flip…
Mercury: The planet Mercury, the nearest planet to our Solar and Sun system, unluckily lacks any environment to speak of, and broils at the side dealing with the Sun and freezes at the thing going through away – similar to our Moon, and is, in reality, is in addition closely cratered. There may be no liquid water on the floor, and typical, like our Moon, seems definitely inhospitable. the micro organism is probably capable of exist in a dormant shape of the manner in one hundred% sheltered niches, But actively survive and thrive they do no longer.
Venus: The planet Venus had lengthy been concept of as Earth’s twin sister. It is the second one planet out from the Sun and has a length and density very close to terrestrial values. It moreover has an environment. Being towards the Sun than Earth, Venus modified into, pre-area age, concept to be heat and wet, a completely tropical environment of lush vegetation in which possibly dinosaur-like creatures or dragons roamed and chased scantly clad maidens! Alas, as quickly as location probes crossed paths with, and landed on, Venus, such goals of a tropical paradise turned into dashed. Nicely its tropical ok, if ‘tropical’ way a surface temperature of 900 tiers Fahrenheit. However the surroundings, mainly carbon dioxide – a greenhouse gas – is so thick and dense that the atmospheric stress is manner massive relative to Earth’s. So, Venus have become out to be greater similar to Hell than a tropical Heaven. No Lifestyles right right here!
Earth
But wait, possibly one in every of this judgment is untimely. What happens here On the planet as you climb up a high mountain? Properly, the temperature drops and the air gets greater rarefied – and so too on Venus. Within the better surroundings, the temperature and pressure of Venus drop to greater terrestrial ground conditions. There cannot be surface Life-as-we-recognize-it on that planet, But what approximately easy, say microbial Life existing Inside the better surroundings?
Earth (Terra): Domestic! now not whatever, further, want to be said.
The Moon (Luna): Like Mercury, our Moon is airless and problem to extremes in temperature relying on whether or not or not the Moon is dealing with towards or away from the Solar. whilst a number one couple of crews of Apollo Moon touchdown astronauts had been quarantined after their missions, simply in case, no extraterrestrial Existence kinds of any type have been ever found. But that is not pretty the give up of the tale. The Apollo 12 astronauts introduced once more to them a few bits and quantities of the unmanned Lunar Surveyor that had landed approximately three years formerly. Terrestrial micro organism Within the one’s bits and portions have been located to nevertheless be possible after exposure to the lunar vacuum, severe radiation exposure, and temperature extremes. while rarely indigenous Lunar Life paperwork, they deliver credibility (as although any were wanted) that microbes are composed of the right stuff to continue to exist the trials of outer location.
The Moon (Luna 2): The Hole and Inhabited Moon Principle: once upon a time, no longer all that prolonged in the past, in truth, there virtually wasn’t a satisfactory scientific reason behind the herbal beginning of our satellite tv for PC, Luna. All of the 3 primary theories had fatal flaws. And for that reason, the opportunity that the Moon wasn’t natural in any respect, However a few sort of Hollow global, possibly a Ufo base and colony deliver, wasn’t all that brilliant to three. But, some scientific genius came up with a fourth natural clarification that happy All the previous scientific boundaries. for this reason, the usage of Ockham’s (or Occam’s) Razor as a guide, me-thinks the Hole moon concept has proved to be a piece, Nicely, Hole. Pity! However, if UFOs have to show to be area motors, the goods of alien intelligence, then it logically follows that ET may have explored our moon, maybe even have a base of operations there. That could account for part of the various transient lunar phenomena (TLP) witnessed over many centuries.
Mars (The Purple Planet): Microbial Life on the Purple planet Mars is pretty much a sure fireplace a factor as lack of Lifestyles and taxes, albeit It might unfold very thinly.
The concept of there being now not nice Lifestyles But clever Lifestyles on the Pink planet Mars has been part of the imagination of astronomers and most of the people for the better a part of a century. Technology fiction novels and quick tales, films and Tv episodes, and famous astronomical books all speculated on Martians and the loss of life Martian civilization with its Machine of canals heading off the inevitable global drought. Even the two tiny Martian moons were critically suspected of being synthetic.
Then Mariner IV flew past Mars in July 1965 taking the number one ever close-up photographs of the Martian floor. Sadly, no canals, no towns, no signs and symptoms of wise Martians. However desire dies difficult, and At the same time as the Viking orbital spacecraft photographed the ‘Face on Mars’ there has been a large outpouring In the popular literature in the least that no matter the fact that there wasn’t a present day civilization on Mars, there as a minimum once became. Lamentably, But first rate this could have proved to had been, an obvious intelligently designed alien artifact sitting on the Martian ground, it clearly becomes simplest a mirage – a trick of mild and shadow – as later pictures confirmed. It proved to be a case of wishful questioning, like the canals and moons of Mars have been, and a case of a mountain made unnecessarily out of a molehill.
But that does not mean there aren’t Martians present on Mars proper now. it’s far certainly that our Martians are microbial, and the proof, Whilst not but conclusive, will be very suggestive. Numerous unbiased discoveries have all But proved that Life, albeit smooth Life, in all likelihood exists, presently exists, on Mars.
Firstly, the two Viking Landers, prepared with 3 separate Life detection experimental strategies, all scored hits. It changed into high-quality due to the fact the detection of organic molecules proved bad that it modified into concept prudent to study outstanding inorganic soil chemistry as a possibility cause for the pleasant Existence detection effects. There are those scientists worried approximately the ones Viking experiments who despite the fact that keep that microbial Lifestyles turned into detected on Mars in 1976. Without a doubt, It is now not a hundred% proof, However, It’s Truly a pro-Existence run on the scoreboard.
Secondly, There is the proof from the Martian meteorite placed Inside the Antarctic (ALH 84001). maintain in thoughts there were 4 separate and independent reasons for coming to the belief that the meteorite contained fossil microbial Existence office work from Mars. at the identical time as every taken apart ought to have a non-organic clarification, the four together were incredibly suggestive of microbial Existence on Mars. Make that runs on the scoreboard.
Existence
Thirdly, spacecraft orbiting Mars have detected methane Within the Martian environment. Methane is chemically reactive, and would disappear in quick time frames were it now not replenished with the aid of some source. The primary deliver of methane On the planet is from micro-organisms. at the identical time as there are non-residing belongings of methane (volcanic activity), lack of such hobby on Mars shows that one chalk up But some other run at the board for Lifestyles.
Fourthly, There isn’t always any query approximately Mars once having had Considerable water. The Spirit and possibility spacecraft rovers have settled that chestnut, and that is pretty other than the seen proof of what seem like water channels, and so on. at the Martian ground. where’s there water, There may be the opportunity of Existence.
Eventually, it is apparent that Earth and Mars may have exchanged substances via rocks being impacted off one planet and arriving on the opportunity (so-referred to as ‘ballistic panspermia’). on the grounds that microbial Existence exists On earth facts
But, the environmental conditions on Mars are very harsh. The temperatures drop Properly below freezing, best rarely getting above the freezing factor. The ecosystem is so skinny that liquid water can’t exist on the surface due to the fact the atmospheric strain is so low. There may be every now and then any oxygen, so no deliver to provide for an actual ozone layer to dam the Solar’s ultraviolet rays from impacting the floor entire energy. For Existence to exist there, it’s miles both underneath the ground (wherein It’s warmer, wetter and much less exposed) and/or in tiny pockets like an oasis wherein situations are each so slightly higher. Regardless, relative to microbes On the earth facts, the microbial population on Mars, assuming it in reality exists, is probably spread as an alternative thinly.
Jupiter (The big Planet): Jupiter is the most important planet in our Solar Tool, However, composed in particular of gas. In reality, Jupiter has been insulted through the use of being in contrast to our Sun and Sun gadget, However a failed Sun and Sun system. If Jupiter were an honest few hundreds big, it might have ignited in a ball of thermonuclear fusion and become a second stellar item in our Sun Gadget, turning it into a binary big name system. Jupiter, However, remains Solar enough such that it emits more electricity than it gets from the Solar. Jupiter, because of the intense gravity, compresses its very own stuff, and compression produces warmth. Critical issue number one: Jupiter has its non-public internal strength deliver.
Essential factor’s wide variety, 3 and four: Secondly, Jupiter’s surroundings consists of the right sorts of chemical materials that one identifies with the muse of Life sports – hydrogen, methane, ammonia, water vapor, and so forth. Thirdly, Jupiter’s environment is turbulent such that there is lots of blending of those factors and compounds. Fourthly, the atmospheric bands of Jupiter are enormously colored, an illustration that There may be masses of complicated chemistry, which incorporates organic chemistry occurring Within.
The upshot of all of this is that it is not implausible that Within the better reaches of Jupiter’s surroundings, as in keeping with the case of Venus, simple Life forms could not exist, live on and thrive. You have got the chemistry – You have were given the energy. And perhaps Carl Sagan became proper and that something extra complicated than best a unicellular environment may want to exist in Jupiter’s ecosystem. But, it’d be an atmospheric ecology.
Europa (A satellite tv for PC of Jupiter): Europa is, aside from Mars, the darling of the exobiology (astrobiology) set. There can be evidence that Europa has a liquid water ocean beneath a thick ice cap this is saved from freezing strong by means of the use of the flexing movement imposed at the moon through its parent planet, Jupiter. When you have liquid water, a power source, you therefore have feasible Life, or so is going the wondering. I am no longer pretty as positive. The ice cap is thick sufficient simply so any electricity source to be had for Existence may not be Sun and Solar device . The sea is probably in eternal darkness. this is But not a loss of life blow as not all critters On earth facts depend upon Sun strength. There might be hydrothermal vents, with associated living corporations on Europa as there may be Inside the international. But, with the ice cap, there is probably little In the manner of assets brought to The sea from outside; it Sincerely isn’t the case On the planet. All chemical materials that could sustain such Lifestyles might ought to be effectively recycled. Life on Europa – feasible, However, It’s going to expose to be very tough to discover that ocean, so I’m no longer waiting for a definitive answer any time actual soon.
But, there stays the opportunity that substances contained Inside that hypothetical ocean can also, because of tidal stresses, can be squeezed via cracks Within the ice and discover their way to relaxation at the surface. It is consequently feasible that a robot craft that lands on the icy ground might also come across organics and/or fossil or frozen stable microbes or maybe lifeless multi-mobile Lifestyles forms resting on the floor.
Saturn (The Ringed Planet): Saturn is a quasi-dual of Jupiter. although barely smaller and farther a long way from the Sun than Jupiter, the same elegant arguments that observe to Jupiter follow to Saturn. this is to mention, Saturn has the right styles of chemistry – and an internal electricity supply. It’s However barely less dense than the other fuel giants, such that if you may locate an ocean big enough, Saturn may go with the flow! That, But, has no regarding the issue of locating an environment-primarily based surroundings there.
Titan (A satellite of Saturn): The satellite Television for Computer of Saturn, Titan, is Virtually one of essential moons Within the Solar System, and actually, if it existed all by using its lonesome, may be considered a planet in its private proper. Titan has, pretty specific amongst satellites, a dense environment. It is denser in fact than our very personal surroundings. It additionally has the right forms of chemical compounds that we discover as having a strong reference to organic and biochemistry. were Titan the identical distance from the Sun that Earth is, Well, you may have a real twin of earth facts , no longer like our faux dual, Venus.
Lamentably, Titan is way, way, way – a long way away – from the Sun strength supply that makes Earth the form of relative paradise. consequently, Titan is Earth, However an Earth in sluggish motion because of the fact Titan is so bloodless in comparison to Earth. If you don’t forget Earth as liquid water at the equator, Titan is molasses on the poles!
Uranus: Uranus is a bad cousin in comparison to the likes of Jupiter and Saturn. it’s far especially a gas planet, albeit way smaller, But so far out from wherein it’s miles all occurring that it is not too possibly that even clean Life might also need to flourish Inside the atmospheric depths, in spite of the fact that the chemistry is not wonderful to that of the nearer-in Jovian planets of Jupiter and Saturn.
Neptune: The equal sorts of arguments practice in widely known to Neptune as to Uranus, with one mild exception. despite the fact that farther out, Neptune, like Jupiter and Saturn, radiates out excess energy. it’s miles Solar and Solar system independent, as a minimum as ways as any Life paperwork might probable describe their environment and power deliver.
Pluto: The planetoid Pluto has become currently formally demoted from strict planetary reputation and is now not relevant to consult it because of the ninth planet. However, Even as I used to be growing up, it changed into the 9th planet, and so I say buggers to astronomical officialdom. That rant apart, Pluto is rarely top rock for vacation seekers. It is bloodless. I endorse it is virtually cold. It makes Antarctica appear In reality tropical in the evaluation. I imply polar bears might freeze to demise on Pluto, no longer that There is something moderately akin to an atmosphere as we are privy to it for them to respire. again, Pluto is just too bloodless to allow for the immoderate temperature chemistry we companion with Existence-as-we-understand-it. If you’re looking for Existence in our Sun Tool, Pluto wouldn’t be your first port of call.
Comets, Asteroids/Planetoids, Meteors: those relative tiny our bodies cannot really qualify as liveable abodes to Lifestyles, besides, There may be proof that not quality can a number of the above be rich Inside the styles of chemical compounds associated with Existence (water, carbon compounds, and herbal chemistry), they will certainly be environments that would residence dormant Life paperwork or fossil Existence varieties of a unicellular type. Meteorites which have been amassed up and analyzed On the earth facts (like ALH 84001) have yielded if no longer fossilized micro organism, then at the least enough chemical proof to signify that they could have had a close to the reference to contributions toward a beginning of Lifestyles event.
Solar
Conclusions: Life is in the long run no longer something extra than an on-going series of complex biochemical reactions. This sort of reactions will be predisposed to be top-rated at warmer (quasi Earth-like) temperatures. Too cold and the important chemical reactions are too slow if they hold at all. Too hot, complicated herbal molecules hastily destroy down. So, Titan is probably way too bloodless, and the surface of Venus, manner too heat. a few actual estate is every too warm and too bloodless at the identical time – Mercury and Luna (our Moon). My favored Solar Device places for (likely) hard-as-nails microbial Existence, Mars aside, are the top atmospheres of the Jovian (gas big) planets (Jupiter and Saturn; perhaps Uranus and Neptune). Their atmospheres are rich in organics and no doubt water vapor. The gasoline giants, Uranus excepted, radiate greater warmth power than they accumulate from the Sun and Sun gadget . There is probably areas of their top atmospheres that have Earth-like temperatures; there can be loads of atmospheric mixing (beneficial for bringing one of a kind chemical substances collectively); and of course the ones planets can even be seeded with organics and water from location thru comets, meteors, cosmic dust, and so forth., if now not in reality seeded right away with microbial Existence bureaucracy through panspermia. The trouble in finding out for fine goes to revolve spherical sending suitable instrumentation into those planetary atmospheres to be able to be capable of discovering actual Life office work, as opposed to simply measuring really essentially bodily parameters and chemical parts. So, do not expect precise answers every time quickly.

Planet Labs buys Alphabet’s satellite division Terra Bella, signs contract for Earth imaging data
Last month a report surfaced suggesting that Alphabet was looking to sell off its satellite division, Terra Bella. Google purchased the company — formerly known as Skybox Imaging — back in 2014 for roughly $500 million. Now, in a statement on their website, Planet Labs has announced that it will be …
