#the pining and the longing

Don't get me wrong, I see the appeal of Rayllum as parents working extra hard to defeat Aaravos (I am writing In Absentia, after all)

But...

Seven years of longing? Of pining for the quiet domestic life they got a quick glimpse of? Wanting to relax and begin that next stage of their life, but the anxiety gets to them every time. Whenever they contemplate maybe things will work out. Maybe they've prepared well enough. Hopefully, they're strong enough.

This time they'll truly win.

For good...

But what if they're not?

What if one of them doesn't make it this time?

What if they leave their kids as orphans?

What if Aaravos targets their children?

And so they decide to wait. Seven years isn't that long and they'll still be young then.

They'll have more than enough time.

Even if Lira teases them every time she sees them, if she doesn't pick up on the smiles that don't quite reach their eyes.

"Shouldn't you have some by now if you want ten?!"

It's safer to wait...

Haven’t collabed with @renconner in a long while for a mini comic (minus our big one, Instinct). We were talking about one of Stan’s lowest moments involving being outside with that damn sign, so we decided to make a comic with Stan remembering it. I’ve also kinda of assumed Filbrick would lie to Ford about what’s going on with Stan (Stan probably did too to some extent).

Ford: I've managed to record substantial evidence on tape, such as floating objects, footsteps that are not my own, and radio weirdness; The host or singer will slip in observations of my being that I simply cannot chalk up to coincidence. Whether this being is a ghost, or one of Bills tricks I've yet to discover… There are more dubious encounters such as the whispers, spine shivering chills, and of the brief shadowy figures I see down dark hallways. (Proof of an apparition? or simply a hallucination dreamt up by my sleep deprived mind?) I fear my mind is slipping further and further-

Ford: What is that blasted noise?! Stan: Cartoons got ghosts shockingly realistic! Ford: Reminds me of... being annoyed.
