Like, killer can see nightmare being affectionate with his spouse and vice versa

Basicallg what im saying is what if killer used that as an example of how to show affection and did it with color

Imagining killer just cooking a human heart for color and giving it to him, or like... purring loudly whenever color is near because he could always faintly hear nightmare purring when his spouse is near

And gifting the limbs of someone who bothered color, because nightmares spouse would frequently kill and make little artworks of the bones of someone who bothered nightmare

Hell, maybe even try to make a little artwork too. Or like carve something out of the bone that he likes, like a lil cat

That idea is both hilarious, terrifying, and cute. I mean, he already keeps entire jars of souls for study and presumably scoops up blood and monster dust also for study.

Realizing that some of what he’s already doing can be used as affection would be a prime light bulb moment lmao.

Like, he spends hours of his days making color the perfect jar—carefully placing the souls, blood and dust of Color’s enemies (or at least who killer thinks are color’s enemies) into a jar and decorating it all pretty with glitter and ribbons and of course placing little upside down heart stickers on the jar (don’t ask him why it was instinct) and its beautiful and killer is sure color would love it because the boss and the boss’ lover love it.

And like the jar is probably heart shaped and looks something like this

So from Color’s perspective, Killer walking up to him with the jar is the equivalent of something like this

Until Color actually gets a good look at it and then just stares, and killers like “do you like it? 🙂” and he’s all squeezing his hands together in front of his chest like this

And then Color has to ask why he gave him this—souls and hearts and blood and dust specifically—and then killer explains about nightmare and then color’s like..”yeah, okay. That makes sense. Of course they’d do that.”

And then Color has to explain that Nightmare and his lover are not exactly the picture of a typical relationship nor what’s considered appropriate to give others, and if killer gave this to anyone else they’d probably be creeped out by it. (Which killer of course keeps in mind, because he loves creeping people out lmao.)

But then Killer’s like..

“..so do you not want it?”

Now here im not sure how exactly color would react��his souls would probably have a lot to say on this. The fact that Killer hurt and killed people for this gift, that Color has to set an example and maintain his integrity— but also how killer very obviously put a lot of thought and hard work into this gift for them and it’d be rude to throw it away.

And yet another part of color is mindful of the fact that this could very well be another of killer’s little morality and boundary tests—trying to test what color is going to do, chose kindness and not hurting killers “feelings” or maintaining his integrity.

And i think maybe a good compromise would be color giving the jar back with a kind, patient smile, and requesting that he hold the jar for him—keep it safe for him. And instead, he’d like to show him something he likes to make as gifts. (And therefore likes to receive as gifts.) and then maybe color makes use of the jar stuff to make like, some of those sand container jewelry like these:

Or perhaps Color further compromises by making one of those blood vial necklaces, appeals to killers idea of a gift with something more consenting and harm free because its vials of killer and colors blood freely given.

Something like this, but imagine Killer’s blood is something more thick and dark like Determination, while Color’s blood is like a darker version of his flames; changing colors and glowing softly in the jar.

All the Costs are Even by tsujiharu: A fic that deserves more love imo, is this Pride and Prejudice retelling. Also, I'm just now realizing that most of these are Human AU's despite me being notorious for generally not liking them, lol.

Summary:

A modern day Pride and Prejudice AU, in which a disgruntled lawyer and an aloof entrepreneur can't seem to get over their pride (and prejudices?) and admit their very obvious attraction to each other.

love is a four-letter word by @la-muerta: Do la-muerta fics need to be recced? Probably not because I suspect most people have read them. Am I still going to to rec them because I love them? Yes! So here is another lovely human AU fic where first impressions maybe aren't what they seem.

Summary:

Magnus knows he's one of the best editors in the business. So when the bigoted director of the publishing house he works for gives their grandson's best friend the promotion Magnus deserved to get, he decides that it's the last straw. Crush On You by @gospi: A FTH fic of 2023 that had me laughing at how salty Alec is about crushing on Magnus. A lot of fun.

My True Love Gave To Me by AlxSteele: Christmas repeats itself endlessly for Magnus and while it's annoying he does end up learning a new side from the awful baked Alec Lightwood. Surprise, he isn't all that awful.

Summary:

Magnus Bane had a plan, a perfect Christmas Eve just like always. Hang out with his friends, bask in the Christmas Spirit. Then everything went wrong. Now he's stuck reliving the same day again and again and again. The bright side? Maybe Alec Lightwood isn't as terrible as Magnus always thought.

A fic that I am sure most people have already read because it is wonderful (which is the reason why I didn't add it last month even though it's a wing fic) is Fall Without Wings by @notcrypticbutcoy. It's a brilliant fic that's all.

Random thoughts GMMTV part 2 line up (BL only)

The Heart Killers. I was fully on board by the opening scene, Khao and Joong as mafia brothers? YES. I'm so happy to see JoongDunk have graduated and Joong isn't playing the love sick puppy. That tattoo chair better remain a prop in the series as FirstKhao were making good use out of it. We basically have YokRay and I'm here for it.

Heart That Skips a Beat. EstWilliams chemistry is on fire, oh my that dance studio scene 😅. I'm loving the vibe of this teaser. The music and dialogue is giving kbl. Idol romance/secrecy? Yes I'm on board. I feel like this one is going to be the one that surprises everyone.

The ex-morning. It's nice to see the OGs are back but I'll be honest, I've never watched SOTUS. The teaser looks interesting with an exs plot and I love a good enemy to lovers trope.

Revamp. Now, I've been waiting for The Vampire Project ever since the first teaser as I love vampire series/films but I just pray that GMMTV don't make this a light romance Twilight kind of thing. I need dark, crazy obsessive vampires. I need Boun to be will to do anything for Prem. I need Santa to be unapologetically badass. I'm excited for this, don't let me down GMMTV!

Sweet Tooth, Good Dentist. MarkOhm are finally gracing our screens as main leads together. It looks like a fun, lighthearted series and Mark singing the Last Twilight ost took me out. I just hope this isn't the type of series that make us wait 11 episodes for a kiss.

Perfect 10 Liners. If you told me the premise of this beforehand I would not be too excited. However the teaser looked fun especially ForceBook. Apparently this will be 3 seperate dramas so if you don't like PerthChimmon you could still watch ForceBooks episodes or vice versa. I'm not sure what to make of this one, it will be interesting!

Ossan's Love. Before Thai Cherry Magic I would have worried about this re-make but it showed it can be done well. EarthMix are hilarious and I trust them. However who wouldn't instantly choose to marry Mix?! I loved the scene of Mix going on his tip toes to kiss Earth, I hope they keep that in the series.

Overall I think it was a good part two with exciting things to come!

Red, White and Royal Blue: A Royal Obsession

This is honestly a long overdue [personal] review of one of my most favorite book to movie adaptations EVER, considering it came out last August 11, 2023, and I wrote this entire thing on October 11, 2023 (Wow, on the 2nd month anniversary of the movie's release! How ironic!). But hey, what's important is it's here and it's here for you to read.

To be quite honest with you all, I have no particular format for this review, but I will be reviewing the storyline, the characters, the dialogue and what's in the book but not in the movie and vice versa.

I will also discuss the perfection that is the CASTING!! Like I can't imagine anybody else as Alex and Henry than who was casted, and you should know their names by now even though I'm gonna state their names a little later, so stay tuned.

Feel free to keep reading even though you haven't watched the movie or read the book, I'll leave it to your discretion but there is a section where I discuss the differences between the movie and the book so skip that if you wish ;)

So with that, I'll go ahead and jump into the movie and book review.

RED, WHITE AND ROYAL BLUE MOVIE AND BOOK REVIEW

Let's talk about the storyline first.

The storyline is not one for your typical romantic comedy. To be honest, this is the first romantic comedy storyline of its kind that I have ever seen in my life, like its not set in like high school or whatsoever where stakes are low. This is sort of high stakes (though not fantasy level high stakes), considering that the lives of the main characters Alex and Henry are forever altered with what happens in the story. This is also a story with an enemies/rivals-to-lovers trope, which I personally love, like I'm such a fan for any story with that trope.

The story has plot and it's a good one. It's one of those plots that are sort of unforgettable and you really need to watch until the end to find out what happens. The storyline of this balances the comedy to the romance and the drama. Like I love that so much, it's everything I want in a romantic comedy story.

Also, there are certain changes between the movie and the book but I'll discuss that in a bit.

Now, let's talk about the dialogue.

With regards to the dialogue, I wouldn't call it cringe because some of the lines are just the wittiest and hit lines that I have ever heard and read. The banter between characters is so fun to read and the way the actors delivered the dialogue is just worth remembering. Like there are certain scenes that I can never unhear from my brain, even while I was reading the book. I would also like to point out that the dialogue are not those cringy one-liners that other rom-coms have and so, it was one aspect that set it apart from your typical rom-com.

One thing that I would like to point out is the conversations between Alex and Henry through text and emails. Now, this was an aspect in the movie that I loved, like the way they executed their conversations in the emails and texts by having text bubbles show up is just cool. Their emails were longer in the book, with some poetry involved but I didn't mind how it turned out in the movie.

I'll now talk about the characters and the utter PERFECTION that is the CASTING.

This story does not have an overload of characters, which makes it easy to remember almost everybody in the story. There were some characters who were not included in the movie or was changed in the movie but kind of had the same vibe with the original character in the book. The titular characters of this story are Alex Claremont-Diaz and Prince Henry. Notable side characters include June Claremont-Diaz, Nora Holleran, Princess Beatrice, Zahra Bankston, President Ellen Claremont, Oscar Diaz, Shaan Srivastava (Henry's equerry), Rafael Luna, Percy "Pez" Okonjo, Duchess Catherine of Edinburgh, Queen Mary and Henry's pet beagle David.

Casting wise, I have nothing to say except that the characters were casted perfectly. Having Taylor Zakhar Perez as Alex and Nicholas Galitzine as Henry was nothing but PERFECT! Like, their chemistry was off the charts and emanating through the screen as I was watching the movie. The banter that flowed between them is so natural and so fun to watch. They did have to be close immediately because of the intimacy of the story, and I love how easily they got along considering that Nick was casted first and they had to find someone who can easily bond with him and I'm happy they found Taylor because their friendship is a gem to be treasured.

Even when I read the book after watching the movie (I know, it's a sin. PEACE!), I heard their voices in my mind as I was reading their characters' dialogues. As for the supporting characters, Uma Thurman as President Ellen Claremont was a force of nature, her speech toward the end of the movie was something else, Sarah Shahi was hilarious and iconic as Zahra, Rachel Hilson as Nora is the best friend you want in your life, and Ellie Bamber as Princess Beatrice is the sweetest and supportive sister you want with you during tough times.

Honestly, I have nothing but praise for the casting of this movie. Other casting directors should learn from this (just kidding, but lowkey, yes, they should!).

Moving on to the twists and differences from book to screen.

Similar to every other book to screen adaptation, not every element from the book gets adapted on screen and this movie is no different. Certain characters were also not adapted and changed and certain scenes were not included.

Let's talk about the differences in characters first.

One of the characters that I really wanted to see in the movie (this is after reading the book already) was June Claremont-Diaz. June is Alex's older sister and the First Daughter of the US. She was not included in the movie, which kinda made me sad because her banter with Alex and Nora is one of my favorites in the book. Also, she just provides that sisterly vibe to Alex similar to what Beatrice provides to Henry. I would've also loved to see the Claremont-Diaz siblings banter on screen but sadly, that is not the case. I would also like to mention that one of my favorite actresses Emeraude Toubia was the fancast for June and simply imagining her with Taylor just makes me giddy and happy.

Another character that was not there but mentioned multiple times in the movie was Henry's mother Duchess Catherine of Edinburgh. She was present in the book but not in the movie so that's another character that I would've loved to see on screen.

For the characters that were changed, a few notable ones were Rafael Luna. Rafael's character became Miguel in the movie, and believe me when I tell you that Miguel irritates me in the movie, especially when he is around Alex, which is always! Another notable character change was the royal ruler of England. In the book, it was Queen Mary but in the movie, the character became King James so it was a transition from a queen to a king which I don't mind.

So far, those are the only ones that really come to mind. The other side characters like Zahra, Nora, Shaan, and Percy were maintained. I would also like to add that it's a smart move when they decided to have the author of the book Casey Mcquiston appear in the movie! That's a slay, honestly.

As for the differences in the storyline and dialogue...

Storyline-wise, the movie stayed pretty true to the book, which is honestly good because I am not the biggest fan of when they put too much twists in a book to screen adaptation that sometimes it already strays away from the original plot. Some iconic scenes from the book that did not make it to the movie (the Cornetto scene, for example, but it was released later on) and some minor changes to places were made like in the book, Alex and Henry first met in the Rio Olympics while in the movie, they first met at the Melbourne Climate Conference.

Dialogue-wise, it is pretty much the same thing. Some dialogue was just made more dramatic in the movie (Zahra saying "I will Brexit your head right off your body" to Henry in the movie is one of my favorites), but most of it was taken from the book itself which honestly, slay because the book basically gives you your script so if changes were to be made, it would be minor and not super major.

More deleted scenes could possibly be coming, so keep manifesting for their release, you guys!

Before I end, let's talk intimacy, smut and spice

This story is definitely not YA, and it has spice and smut within. Honestly, I would rate the spice 3/5 chili peppers because it's not like a full-blown "frack me boneless" or something but it still has hooking up and making love scenes that are essential to show the growing romance between Alex and Henry. To be fair, since I watched the movie before reading the book, I was surprised by the speed of the spice but I was also enchanted by the tenderness of when they made love in their room in Paris. Like that scene was beautifully executed and I was speechless after that.

The intimacy level of the story is one of the main reasons (if not the main reason) why Nick and Taylor had to be close so fast because the level of trust that needs to be established in order to execute the intimate scenes is necessary between two actors. Their dedication to their craft just leaves me in awe every time I think of the care and work they, along with the entire cast and crew, put into this movie.

Now, to conclude,

To end, I do not regret watching Red, White and Royal Blue. It's one of those feel-good movies that I could never get tired of no matter how many times I have already seen the movie, read bits of the book and heard the dialogue. It's just that good. The movie easily became a comfort movie for me and the book is one of my 5-star reads for the year.

History, huh? This movie definitely made some.

Izzy has love for Ed. Ed has love for Izzy.

Ed loved Izzy as best he could. Izzy loved Ed as best he could.

And it wasn't only not good enough, in the end it was actively bad, a destructive, unhealthy, co-dependent love for both of them.

But!

We don't know when and how it started (Izzy's "all my life" implies a very long time) and what happened between them in the years and years they spent together. We don't know if there were good, happy times once. Or at least content and/or exciting ones. What we do know is how important Ed is to Izzy, and vice versa. They built their whole lives around each other.

Yes, their relationship was (at least in the end, maybe always) damaging to both of them, to put it lightly. But I think they didn't know it could be any other way and painfully held onto each other 'cause this is as good as it gets - at least we don't fuck each other over. At least this one person will never leave me. If we go down, we go down fighting side by side. And if we live another day, there's this one person I can trust to help me survive.

And then Stede comes along. And shows both of them this radical new concept - a soft and sweet kind of love, affection, enjoying each other's company in a light, sunny way. Just having fun, nothing life-and-death about it! Two people immediately getting each other, talking, laughing, being comfortable. Ed immediately falls for it and is the happiest he's ever been. For Izzy it takes a while, and it has to trickle down and be filtered through the crew for him to accept it (also his armour had to be cracked by the Kraken to make even that possible).

For Ed (and also, to an extent, for Izzy) this is the first time in their life they got a taste of a healthy relationship - it can also be like this?

This is only the start of it of course. Love unfortunately isn't that easy. But Ed will get there with Stede, and Izzy will get there (and faster than any of us thought judging by his character development in the first 3 episodes alone).

But...

Edward Teach and Israel Hands, old married couple, best friends, mentor and pupil?, captain and first mate, maybe (ex-)lovers, probably not, their worst enemies, the perfect team, two very troubled men, taking each other down to the brink of death. Obviously theirs wasn't a healthy relationship! But that doesn't mean that their love for each other is worth less and shouldn't have happened. It also doesn't mean that the way forward is to stop that love (as if that was so easy).

This show is all about learning to love in a healthy, mature, non-destructive way - be it romantic love, friendship, the love of (found) family or (most importantly) self-love.

I'm absolutely certain both Eddie and Iz will get there in the end, not us-two-against-the world, not as a romantic couple. But each in their own way and, hopefully, still remaining loosely bound to each other by mutal hard earned respect and love. That's all I hope for for them <3.

ik that people have probably said similar to what i'm saying rn but i personally think medhammer and subkit are both very bad ships for the same reason imo. i cant ship them because they'd be pretty damn toxic if not going off of an enemies to lovers or perfect universe au or smth. it would be hard to execute them properly

i dont have anything against medhammer and subkit shippers, as long as they're executing it properly, but if you're gonna ship one of them and call the other one toxic, oh boy hypocrite alert. you can dislike the other one but if it's because "iT'S tOXiC!!!!1!11!" then you have literally no right to ship the other one. why? because if you didn't make it perfect that'd be. guess what. Toxic.

idgaf about what you ship, as long as it's not poorly executed or proship, but jesus learn how to maybe not be a hypocrite and do yourself a favor?

tldr if you like medhammer but hate subkit because subkit is toxic or vice versa you have no right to ship that ship at all.

Chapter 10

  You love water, but not this water.

   Astarion holds you by the bicep as you peer over the water- far too afraid you may tumble over or be dragged off by something. The water is dark- almost a perfect mirror. You can see your own reflection, but you wish your lover could see his too.

  You and Astarion’s relationship has gone surprisingly well in the aftermath of Dahlia. You had been worried he would become afraid and dump you after finding out Cazador was after both of you, but instead, he became significantly more protective and affectionate. It was odd, buit there hadn’t been a single moment to address him about it.

 You, Astarion, Gale, Karlach, and Shadowheart are heading towards the coordinates where Nere is located. You are both aware of how closely some creature is following you- it seems to have massive tentacles, but also a lizard like body. A Kraken? Maybe?

 “My love,” Astarion says nervously while pulling you back, “I think being more towards the middle of the boat would be safer.”

“Astarion Ancunin,” you gasp, “are you… telling me to be careful!?”

  He rolls his eyes at you before pulling you into a very sweet kis- then whispering against your lips, “I’m demanding you be careful

- don’t make me punish you, Darling.”

  You feel heat go straight to your core- the idea humming through your veins. Punishment usually means he is thinking of thrusting into you from behind while whispering sweet nothings in your ears- nipping at the tip of them- then paying an exceptional amount of attention to your clit.

“Shhh,” you whisper, “everyone else can hear us.”

 “Let them,” he growls possessively in your ear, “I’m the only one who can smell how delicious you are and I’m the only one who gets to worship you- give them something for their alone time.”

 Your breath hitches at the words he says. You wouldn’t consider yourself a kinky person, but Astarion makes every sexual act sound positively exquisite. Even though you haven’t had sex for a while. 

 You don’t mind at all- you are happy Astarion feels safe enough to explore intimacy with you without pushing his own boundaries. The two of you had grown close exceptionally fast and you can’t remember a life without him. It makes you feel some guilt, but it does give Tessa’s death a bit of purpose.

 You wouldn’t be here for the person who needs you most and vice versa. 

  A sudden shaking of the boat causes Astarion to hold you tighter to his chest.

 A group of Druegar hop over onto the boat- you can’t help but scowl. Druegar and Drow had been natural enemies for centuries- Druegar had been running the camp your mother died in. 

  You numbly walk over and the man goes to open his mouth, but you didn’t really care to listen. You kick the man straight in the nose and then use the bottom of your foot to drop him into the depths below- a massive tentacle coming up between the boats and skewering him.

 The fight begins and ends very quickly. The Druegar were no match for you and your group- Gale and Shadowheart didn’t necessarily agree with your approach, but at least Astarion and Karlach understood. 

  The boat ride continues to go pretty easily, but of course- it can never be that easy with this group. Misfortune seems to follow you everywhere.

  The Kraken suddenly appears- one of it’s tentacles wrapping around your neck. You can hear Astarion calling your name and Karlach running, but it’s far too late. 

 You forgot that Krakens are greedy, hungry creatures. The Druegar weren’t going to be enough.

 Your head disappears under the water and you take in a mouth full of the dark, murky water. You are thankful that you naturally have dark vision and that you don’t necessarily need to breathe even though it’s uncomfortable not to. 

  You change your mind very quickly- being able to see in the dark is a curse. An even bigger curse is the giant fucking Neotheliod that is dragging you towards it’s mouth. You begin to panic- unsure of what you should be doing to get away from the massive creature because you’ve never seen one. 

  You can feel blood seeping from your leg as the creature continues to pull her further down- it’s spiky tongue digging more into your flesh. You thrash around- trying to make it harder for the creature to pull you down and it works momentarily, but it also attracts another creature in it’s wake. 

  A Kraken with all of it’s tentacles and it’s massive fins comes soaring through the water right towards you- you scream into the water as you begin to see the whites of it’s eyes and like that- you’re in the creatures’ mouth. 

  You cling to one of it’s razor sharp teeth, scrambling to swim away before it closes it’s jaw- you barely make it and the creature does not tear your foot off like you had been anticipating. 

  You turn invisible in the water- the creature thrashes around wildly as it looks for you and you feel a sense of relief.

 You turn to begin swimming back towards the surface, knowing your invisibility has worn off, and the kraken gone, but some weird fish creature is in your way and it says something you don’t understand, but it can’t possibly be good because your world is getting darker and darker by the moment until it completely disappears.

 The group split up- Karlach telling Astarion she will pay him 50 gold and a fresh hog so she can be partnered with Shadowheart in their search for you. 

  Astarion had almost jumped in after you, but Gale had cast “Hold Person” on him. Astarion had never felt more pissed off in his entire life. 

 “You know, that Kraken was really quite impressive,” Gale says, “they are very fascinating creatures- rarely leave their prey alive.”

 Astarion bristles, “Gods Gale- you are really the most educated man I know. Would you like a closer look next time?”

  Gale seems to get the hint that maybe the ‘fun fact’ wasn’t all that fun at the moment. It would be preferable if he doesn’t have to spend 200 gold to bring you back because that means a whole ass day and a half without you as they head back to camp. 

 He probably should have attempted to convince you against fighting the Druegar in the first place, but it was a rather fun fight and it was actually kind of difficult. Astarin hasn’t had to think that hard in a fight for a while. 

  They had been so close to that stupid ruin in the distance- the damn thing couldn’t wait for another ship to go by? 

  There are the oddest statues as they continue their trek up a rocky cliff- Gale complains about his knees the whole time and Astarion does actually feel bad for the man. At least Astarion has some undead strength and his cartilidge won’t be wearing thin anytime soon. 

  Something in the air changes and Astarion suddenly feels like a spring ready to snap. 

“Gale,” Astarion says, turning to the man, “do you feel that?”

 Gale nods his head very, very slowly. 

“Astarion,” Gale says very slowly, “there is a Beholder Beast behind you and I think we may have made a mistake because the statues are not statues- in the traditional sense.”

 He looks around to see what Gale is referring to and he finally notices the statues for what they actually are- petrified Drow. 

 The  sound of the angry, growling Beholder beast rings in his ears.

“Shit.”

This is gonna be a long and weird post from me, and I don't know if it'll even be comprehensible in the end, but I just wanna put my thoughts out there about my feelings for Jhinhwei and why even as everyone else has fallen in love with this ship, I'm struggling to get into the idea of it.

(And to get this out of the way, this is all just my personal interpretation of these characters, I'm not gonna shame anyone for shipping something I don't or reading a character differently than I do. I'm doing this mostly cuz I just wanna voice my thoughts on this pair and maybe hear from people who think differently than I do. Also the other ships I tagged will make sense in a moment I PROMISE!)

It's not that I don't understand the appeal, oh no, this ship feels like it was handmade to appeal to Tumblr's love of darker, tension-filled, inherently toxic, homoerotic romance. It's LoL Hannigram, it's someone who's at least somewhat moral falling obsessively in love with a psychopath, and now they're at a cross roads of if they want to try to remain a decent person but abandon their love, or embrace the darkness within them and allow themselves to be in love with this horrible person. There's so much potential for drama and complex explorations of love and obsession that this ship should absolutely grip me.

But it doesn't, even as it's gripped others who like the same other pairings that I do.

My two other favorite ships (bear with me, I think understanding why I love these two helps rationalize why I don't ship Jhinhwei), the ones that have actually worked their way into every crevasse of my brain and I think about scenarios of them while trying to fall asleep is Kayn/Rhaast (big shock I know /s) and Simon/Betty from Adventure Time. They are also two pairings that delve into obsession and where neither partner is fully good (or in Petrigrof's case, more like good people with unintentionally toxic behavior).

Let's start with Rhaayn cuz I've rambled enough about that ship on here to fill a library (hehe voicelines references). Rhaayn is more of a classic enemies to friends to lovers with the Symbrock dynamic of Rhaast being a parasite that is fighting for control over Kayn's body being thrown in there for spice. The fun with this ship is seeing how their fight forces them to have to share moments of closeness and eventually bond with the other, and how through those moments, Kayn and Rhaast both find a perfect mirror for themselves. They find someone with the same level of bloodthirst and similar war-related trauma, but also someone who balances them as they are opposites and the same in so many ways.

Petrigrof (spoilers for both Adventure Time and Fiona And Cake) is sorta the opposite of Rhaayn in that a lot of Rhaayn focuses on how they fall in love, while Petrigrof's main story starts after already being together. The other way they're different is that while I very much SHIP Rhaayn, I'm kinda lying when I say I SHIP Simon and Betty as my favorite part is that they don't stay together in the end. The Youtuber Sarcastic Chorus has already done an amazing analysis of this ship that matches a lot of my feelings on them, but to sum up, how Petrigrof ended is all due to Betty and Simon's mistakes. They loved each other so much that Betty was willing to throw so much of herself away for Simon, while he was blinded to how much she was doing for him, and even in the moments where he did recognize Betty was doing too much, he let her keep trying as he thought it would undermine their relationship if he didn't. And I love that their story is a lesson in how even well-meaning obsession can be toxic and that you need to know when to walk away and move on, even when it hurts you and the person you love.

Simon is just as madly in love as Betty is and vice versa, and they're both equally responsible for the way they ended up. While with Rhaayn, both crave each other's company because they've found someone who is just as violent and fucked up in all the same ways as they are.

But compared to those two pairs, Jhinhwei feels too unbalanced, and not just due to the power imbalance. To summarize it, my other ships feel like two people who ruin each other (or heal each other, or both!), while Jhinhwei mostly feels like Jhin trying to ruin Hwei and the main draw is Hwei choosing to accept the ruin and his internal struggle about it. The story of them, as I read it, focuses almost solely on Hwei's arc and you could theoretically have him effect Jhin just as much, but first, any attempts for Hwei to "fix" Jhin would just recreate the issue for me in the other direction, where it's now about Jhin's internal struggle with Hwei trying to heal him. Second, I have a hard time reading that as anything other than drastically changing Jhin's character to the point where you might as well make an OC.

That last point is definitely more of a personal problem as I have way more trouble getting into Jhin's headspace than I do with Hwei or Kayn or even Rhaast. But to me, Jhin is almost more of a force of madness than a character I can dive into the complex mind of, and I'm kinda ok with that. A lot of people love trying to figure out how these characters' brains work and why they are who they are, but just like how Riot never wanted to unmask Jhin (until that goddamn concept art came out!), I'm ok with leaving the mask on and letting some things about Jhin remain mysterious, even at the cost of Jhinhwei not meeting a lot of the criteria to be a ship that I really fall in love with.

Lumity x Zukaang dance ya’ll?

AAAAA YES THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THIS UP!!! Lumity is literally one of the main things that inspired me to write The Avatar and the Fire Prince. I adore Amity and Luz so much and the way they were developed from enemies to friends to lovers, with Amity (the more hostile one at the beginning) being the first to start crushing on Luz (the bubbly, optimistic protagonist). I'm sure you can see some of the similarities with the way I've written Zuko and Aang's relationship in my AU lol.

That also gives me me an idea for the perfect Zukaang as Lumity fan art... You probably know the scene I'm thinking of lol. Honestly I would love to draw Zukaang versions of all of my favorite Lumity moments (and possibly vice versa)

Running her hand through his silver hair, Penelope observed the man laying on the bed, his head on the pillow on her lap. Kip had been talking enthusiastically the entire night about the downfall of the Best Friends, effectively trapping Penelope there to listen to him joke and laugh about this betrayal that had gone down earlier. How proud he was of this web that he had started to weave around them, controlling the now trio of friends like puppets on strings.

Penelope just nodded along, occasionally making a quiet approving sound to give out the illusion that she was listening to him. Obviously she was proud of what Kip had managed to achieve with this plan so far, but at the same time she had to wonder how much of this was actually them, and how much was just the other outside pressure - especially with Danhausen that Penelope knew they had nothing to do with - that was put on Cassidy that was causing all of this to happen.

She shouldn’t have cared about it as much as she did as everything was still going according to plan, but something about the sudden turn of events was bothering her. Penelope knew they put a lot of time and effort into trying to make this thing into something that benefited them as much as possible while tearing their competition down, while going towards their ultimate goal of that International championship being on the waist of her boyfriend sooner rather than later, but something about it didn’t quite add up.

It felt to her like there were some other powers at play here. And if someone knew what that felt like, it was her.

“…And then we will prey on his loneliness and insecurities until it’s time for the final act of this story: the climactic spectacle, the rematch, where the world will see me finally beat him for the International title. Where Kip Sabian will finally be victorious, where Kip Sabian will finally be crowned… A champion.”

Penelope just nodded, a hand running through his hair in an agreeing manner. Kip’s hands waved in the air a little as he spoke, signaling the amount of excitement and trust he had in his own words. Not that Penelope doubted him, but he was being a bit over dramatic this early in their plans.

“AEW International champion Kip Sabian…” He inhaled deeply, Penelope watching the smile playing on his lips, the man fully and truly already living in the fantasy created by those words. “Has the perfect ring to it, doesn’t it babe?”

“Mmhhmm.”

She watched as Kip’s brows furrowed a little, his head tilting back so he was, for the first time since laying down, actually directly looking at her. “Babe, is everything okay? I was expecting a bit more… Enthusiasm with that, to be honest.”

Penelope just shrugged a little, but Kip’s eyes were looking at her with such intense determination it was very obvious that he wasn’t going to let her off the hook so easily with such a response. Kip was very into this fantasy he was building in his own head, and he wanted her to live it along with him, obviously.

“Don’t you think this is just all a little bit… Too convenient?”

Kip’s eyes narrowed at her a little, but he remained silent. Penelope wasn’t sure if he was catching on to what she was talking about, or if he was too deep in his own head to understand that there were things at play here outside of their control. As the thought crossed her mind, she glanced over her shoulder across the hotel room, staring back at the box set on top of the dresser, as if it was left to overlook the room at all times while they were eventually going to be asleep.

“Convenient for us, definitely,” Kip finally muttered, Penelope’s eyes returning to him. “But that’s a good thing, right?”

“I don’t know.”

Penelope couldn’t really put her finger on it, but something about this whole thing felt off to her. Sure Danhausen had always been a wild card, as honestly it had just been a matter of time before he did something neither of them had been prepared for and threw a wrench into their plans, but something they hadn’t really thought about before was him actually helping them further, faster than they had prepared for. And something about that was making Penelope nervous about all of this, making her rethink the pacing of this whole thing going forward.

“It feels… Odd.”

Kip just shrugged, slowly sitting up on the bed, turning towards her. Penelope didn’t look back at him but focused on her hands instead, contemplating her own words over a bit more, trying to form a sentence that both of them could, in this situation, fully understand, that put her thoughts and feelings into some sensible order.

“Anything that propels us towards the ultimate end goal is good for us, isn’t it?”

She shrugged again, not being really sure if she could answer such a question honestly. It felt like it was good, but there was some form of small doubt in her mind. They had planned everything so perfectly from the start to finish, and even though they had thought about some hiccups, to Penelope, things were starting to go so much off the planned rails that it was becoming concerning.

She just wasn’t entirely sure how to bring this up with him in a way that he was going to believe her that this was probably a bad thing. Kip clearly wasn’t as strict about staying on the designed and approved road map they had laid out for themselves with this plan; it was so obvious he was going to cut any corner necessary, take any easy way out and any cheap shot, whether it came from inside or outside their group, to get what he wanted.

“You have to stop worrying about all of this so much.” There was a very slight singsongy, almost teasingly lighthearted tone in his voice as Kip spoke up again. Penelope didn’t respond to him, shortly afterwards feeling Kip reach for her, hand gently placed under her chin as he pushed her face back up, getting face to face with her again. He didn’t intend to be mocking, as the soft smile on his lips was clearly telling her.

“We got this, baby. There’s nothing the Zest Friends, Clementine, or anyone for that matter can do about it. It’s just a matter of time.”

She smiled at him, watching as Kip carefully leaned closer, pressing a soft kiss on her lips. “You just have to trust me. I know what I’m doing.”

Penelope didn’t want to admit it, but he really didn’t, in reality. While yes, things were going in the right direction, it was less thanks to him than anyone or anything else. She remained quiet though, letting Kip bask in his blissful ignorance, hoping that things would just continue to go well enough that he wouldn’t notice the true course of things.

She just couldn’t shake the odd feeling that something was very off with their current situation, but if Kip didn’t see it, then maybe it ultimately wasn’t worth being brought up to disrupt the amount of glee he was currently experiencing with all of this.

Penelope followed his lead, leaning towards him to likewise steal a little kiss from his lips. She didn’t say anything, but the smile on her face and her actions spoke more than her unsure words surely could, giving Kip the sense he needed that they were on the same, safe page about all of this.

“Next week,” he stated as he pulled Penelope into his lap, kissing her again, “We got more work to do. I have a plan on how we can really show Clementine that those friends of his aren’t worth keeping around for much longer.”

Chuck was absentmindedly scrolling around on his phone, trying to busy his mind with something else than the thoughts of the day as sleep just wasn’t coming to him. The silence in the dark hotel room was ringing in his ears, only occasionally being broken by the soft snores coming from Trent who was already fast asleep in the other bed. Chuck wasn’t sure how he was able to so easily fall asleep after such a day that they had, but at the same time maybe Trent wasn’t seeing the whole picture as easily as he was.

He couldn’t get the visual of Cassidy snapping so violently at Danhausen out of his mind. While the situation was definitely understandable, Chuck also had rarely seen him being like this that it was throwing him into a loop. Cassidy was usually so calm and collected, barely showing emotions publicly, so this was really out of character for him.

And while his outburst was justified, at least in Chuck’s opinion, just the thought of it made him shiver a little bit.

He hadn’t wanted to say anything before, but Chuck was sure everyone around them had noticed the subtle changes in Cassidy in the past few weeks. While most of this had definitely happened behind closed doors and away from the cameras, it was no secret that the champion had been struggling. The hints had been subtle but if you knew what to look for while he was in the ring, they were definitely noticeable. And the more Chuck scrolled through Twitter, seeing the various takes on tonight’s happenings, the more obvious it was that it was bleeding out to inside the ring as well, for the whole world to see.

People were talking about how Danhausen had snapped. How Cassidy deserved it. How this had been coming for weeks now, but they thought it was going to be the champion that cracked first. He was clearly tired, he needed a break. And so on and so on.

With a sigh, Chuck clicked off Twitter, almost on instinct opening Instagram instead. At least he didn’t have to read the comments over there, he could just enjoy some mindless scrolling of photos and hope to catch a glimpse of something more interesting and positive than whatever people were throwing around in the bird app. Scrolling past a few photos from tonight’s show and some promo shoots from people, one thing curiously kept poking out of his feed the longer Chuck kept going.

As the next ad popped up, he stopped. It was almost as if at that point a light bulb turned on in his head, Chuck looking at the flight offer with completely new eyes. Usually he just passed such ads by without a second thought, already knowing where he was going and when, most often already having flights booked for shows and such well in advance.

But this time it was something different. Maybe it was because of the exotic destinations they had listed in the ad, or maybe it was because he was in the mindset of thinking about Cassidy and his currently very exhausting lifestyle, but Chuck’s tired mind put one and one together with these two thoughts, actually forming an idea on the spot. He clicked on the ad, quickly sitting up on the bed as he continued to scroll through the selection of offers, actually finding a few pretty good deals, which was rare to see for a social media ad campaign.

Chuck glanced to the other bed, contemplating a little on waking Trent up to discuss this with him. Maybe this was a thing that could wait until the morning, and Chuck was sure he would still remember it by then unlike most of his middle of the night thoughts that regularly ran through his head. Trent had been complaining about a headache well into the night, especially after everything went down with Danhausen, so he had basically been out cold as soon as his head hit the pillow earlier. Chuck didn’t blame him, but out of all the times he could do that, of course it would be tonight when Chuck actually had a discussion worthy idea.

He kept scrolling through the page for a while longer, formulating a more coherent plan in his head. The flights were cheap, surely they could find a good but not too expensive or difficult destination to book a hotel in for a few days, for all three of them. Chuck didn’t dare to think about sending Cassidy out alone, and if he was going there too, of course Trent would need to be included. Just a few Best Friends on a relaxing little trip together, away from all the trouble and hassle of work for a few days to cleanse their palettes.

Well, Cassidy’s palette first and foremost obviously, but he wasn’t going to say that to him. It was probably going to end up being very obvious, but that was a bridge Chuck was ready to cross when they got to it eventually.

Copying the link to the ad, Chuck quickly sent it to Trent, detailing his plan in the text message as well. They could get Tony on the phone in the morning and get some time off for the well deserving champion and themselves. It was probably not going to be a huge deal if it was only going to be for a few days – they could easily be back for next week's Dynamite if needed.

Hearing Trent’s phone quietly beep on the nightstand but the man not reacting to the sound at all, Chuck smiled and nodded to himself in approval as he proceeded to continue to look through the options of locations they had to choose from in this specific sale. He didn’t really have any destinations in mind when he started planning this so suddenly, but Chuck knew Cassidy at least wasn’t picky about such things. Or he was hoping he still wasn’t, that’s at least how it had been in the past.

With how things had been changing recently, Chuck was hoping he could still at least trust that bit of knowledge he had about one of his closest friends. With so many things changing all of a sudden in such surprising ways, he was just holding onto hope that this wasn’t one of those things. Only time would tell however, depending on how Cassidy was going to react to the news in the morning, how things would go if they went through with this plan.

Chuck was determined to make it work though. He wasn’t entirely sure how, but hopefully with Cassidy agreeing to everything and Trent there to help make it all happen, it was going to work out. Hopefully.

Independence is 1st and foremost one of the biggest thing between you and the thought of a relationship happening didn't make that likely. You knew the sexual chemistry was there but realizing there's emotional chemistry, genuine connection, it's scary. But maybe that's exactly what you were unintentionally looking for.

@heartkyeom : Opposites attract; i think about your bias and how he is so much more timid than you in some ways, and you both think there are things you can't do that the other can do, and vice versa. Some people may think you're complete opposites from another but that's ok because you know there's no one else that understands you better than your partner. I don't think I actually ever asked you this so,, what are your favorite fic tropes? 👀

I love enemies to lovers (any combo actually, like friends to enemies to lovers, or lovers to enemies to lovers again, whatever give me that perspective change and those complicated feelings! Especially if it´s like. "No one understands you as much as I do and vice versa but we won´t acknowledge it because it would mean too much and we can´t deal with it").

I like noncon/dubcon in any form, not just as a kink but as a narrative dynamic, as in a character is forced to so something (or some things) because of the circumstances. Maybe they´re a slave, or they need to work for someone even if they have sworn to never do it again. Or like everything that surrounds a forced pregnancy, or a situation where Character is struggling with money and they´re forced to do Things to survive. Or maybe they´re trying to protect a loved one and again they do things they didn´t think they ever would.

I´m also a sucker for fake betrayal especially when it comes from two characters that have a frenemies situation. Fake betrayal, unexpected mercy, unexpected tenderness, enemy to caretaker, enemy to guardian, anything that blurs the lines between "I thought you hated me/I didn't we're just on different sides", "enemies who respect each other to the point of saving each other's life", "No one can hurt/kill you except me", "I just realized that if they die I won´t be able to keep on living myself". That sort of thing. On this note, I absolutely love when "A saves B's life despite they've always been enemies, and when asked why they make up excuses or just refuse to elaborate". That being said, I also love the other way around, so when a character lulls the other into a false sense of security only to take advantage of them at a later stage. This one is not frequent but I believe it works very well with Sladick, especially with a young-ish Dick involved.

I love incest, again not necessarily in a kinky sense but because it creates complex dynamics and feelings, both when it's a situations where the characters are aware of it, and where they find out at some point.

I love aftercare and comfort after dark shit went down. Hurt/comfort might be my favorite trope ever, and albeit I love it when the comfort happens between two loved ones, I absolutely adore when the comfort comes from the same person who dealt the hurt. That's the perfect recipe for Stockholm/Lima syndrome and I am THERE for it (again both when it's kinky and when it's just a narrative device).

I also love dumbass characters who have no idea how to deal with their feelings and make it everyone else's problem. They are SO STUPID (said while shaking with lust). I love characters who are having a hard time coping-dealing with their trauma, and I love hopeless situations where Character A is at the complete mercy of character B (think of a "bad guys won" scenario).

I also love omegaverse. Like I really REALLY REALLY love omegaverse. I don't think I need to elaborate on this point lmao.

Hi, time for unofficial request ideas before I send a shorter version lol. I wrote this on another app and I’m kinda feeling too lazy to edit it nicely sorry lol. Hybrid panther punk pet mc and yandere punk rapper suga. Yandere mc too? Yeah prob. Or nvm and that she beats or tortures them until they’re almost dead but is too scared to kill. I prefer he’s the yandere and she’s really protective. He kills them after she goes away if there’s a good reason to. Can’t pick hm. Maybe smut is that she’s in heat and so he gets possessive and or jealous while they’re outside. Or either way around? Or both lol hm. Him patching her up even if it’s a tiny scratch compared to the enemy’s broken bones lol both are hybrids?? I like the pet idea with them both as humans or he’s human bc it’s more humiliating for the mc. But I want to see some variety and I like hybrids so why not have them both be hybrids. Maybe they’re both awkward at first. But she ends up loving to be spoiled and taken care of. And a lil vice versa. Maybe she patches him up on the rare occasions he can’t find a trusted gang doctor or member to do it bc he doesn’t want to look weak in front of her. Maybe Yoongi is a cat, tiger, cheetah. I kinda like cat the most but idk hm. Would a black cat make them look too similar or is that cute? I like the idea of her being a lil taller and kinda stronger than him but will submit to him. (Oh no there’s the thing of whether hybrids have human ears or not too lol. I’ll say no) the other bts boys as the top members of his gang. Yoongi who is kind of a crazy asshole to anyone who isn’t in his gang. Maybe some hybrids instinctually love chaos, blood, violence, fire etc Loves mc, genuine with bts, but only plays nice for his own benefit with other gang members and other ppl. Mc is kinda similar but more cold except for with him. Maybe she gets a lil closer to the other bts boys after a while of seeing Yoongi being happy/soft with them. There doesn’t need to be a lot of gang/hybrid/world lore. I just want some and to see if Yoongi and or mc change as the gang gets bigger. MATING MARKS! I imagine they’d get it on opposite sides of their neck so the bites make a heart when they have their necks together. That’s so cute. Maybe it’s considered weak for a gang member to have a mate mark esp if it’s easily visible. But they don’t care and will more likely hurt/kill anyone who tries to flirt with the other despite the marks. Would mc’s mark be peeking over her collar? Hm. And it could be perfect heart shape or mc’s bite is a lil smaller in size. Origin story hm. Maybe he sees her playing in a small band. Or she sees him at a rapper event. Or she sees his gang. She has some fighting experience bc of the neighborhood and joins his gang for him and then they’re in love. Or she does boxing, goes to the gym or something like that and gets recruited by him, bts, or another gang member. Prob best if it’s him hm.

Note: I was too tempted. I'm just going to do almost all of these because I can. For Levina and Nari because they're such foil characters.

They were introduced to each other at a Burlixin military base.

2. How long have these two characters known each other?

Nari was 11 and Levina was 14, so they've known each other for about 8 years.

3. What were their first impressions of each other? How does that compare to their impressions of each other now?

Levina was unimpressed with Nari and not sure why Nari had been selected to join her. Nari was just excited to meet Levina!

4. How would they describe each other if asked? Physically? In personality?

Levina: "She's Nari."

Nari: "Oooh, Levina is... kinda... you know, a person. She's just a little rough around the edges. No one's perfect, right?"

5. Do they get along? Why or why not?

In Nari's words, "Oh, I get along with everybody! [...] It’s Levina who doesn’t get along with me!”

6. Do they have any shared interests/hobbies? Do they ever do these hobbies together?

Levina and Nari both learned combat fighting together and still practice at the safe house.

They live together in the safe house, so they see each other everyday! But they get their own room at the safe house. Before the safe house was built, they bunked together at the military base.

8. How do they communicate with each other? Are there any recurring phrases or gestures unique to their relationship?

Levina is just very straightforward and dry cut. In contrast to Nari who's just more expressive and bubbly.

9. What is one quality they have in common?

They are both very protective of their squad, just in their own way.

10. What is one major difference between them?

Levina is intense. Nari is very friendly.

11. Does one act as a narrative foil to the other? How so?

Yes, yes, yes. Levina feels like she is unable to heal vs. Nari who thrives after she joins the squad. Levina is actually a bit envious of Nari because [REDACTED]. It is kinda hard for Levina because she is the only one in the squad with her experience, whereas the others have somewhere to go after the mission is over.

12. Do they have any affection for each other? How do they show it?

Yes! Nari is always trying to include her in things. Levina does TRY not to be so abrasive and does do things for Nari and the rest of the squad.

There is a bit of a grudge sometimes.

This one is hard. They do have a bond now. Nari doesn't want to lose any of her squad friends, including Levina. Levina does not want to see her squad as temporary, but once the mission is over - she knows they will all return to their own separate lives.

Yes and no.

They don't have one in particular. But Nari does remember Levina's kinder gestures and vice versa.

Yes, the squad! Rowena was the next to join them. Then Aria joined a few months later. Then they got the safe house and Shelby and Lila joined the squad too.

More arguing in private. In public, they appear very coordinated and unified for the most part. Isaac is the first to notice that they are maybe not as unified as they originally thought.

They can deal with each other just fine, but that doesn't mean they won't get on each other's nerves.
