it's 5:30 AM so I'm really tired and rambly but I had a shower thought about how commanding is a rejection of christian dogma especially w/rt how christianity tries to hijack the self-actualization process and put it all under becoming more godly/christian -- "The price of autonomy is personal responsibility. If no god commands you, then every failure is your own fault [...but] you also know you have the power to make yourself." this is all probably obvious but im dense and this is very cool aa.

This is funny actually, I DID originally operate under the assumption this narrative would read as overtly and objectively blasphemous to everybody because of all the things you just said; literally every single thing about the comic's philosophy and Phineas' specifically rails against every basic tenet of Christianity, On Purpose. Over and over the comic goes CHOOSE YOURSELF AND THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU and that is about the worst possible thing a Christian can think. I was still sort of deprogramming for the first hundred or so pages, and every time I did anything with KC I felt like I was committing a crime haha.

But uh. Most people do not get that at all, which I realized over time because people act totally confused when I said it was an anti-christian narrative; a lot of folks think it only started getting in the weeds with religion in the latest arc. It's another one of those invisible ink things, the only people who notice it are other people with religious trauma (or people still steeped in it) whose brains have been rewired like mine to find blasphemy in any form of autonomy or basic self-actualization. Even people WITH church experience whose worst thing was having to sit still for an hour on Sundays don't pick up on this stuff, it's a very specific perspective that I hadn't realized was as rare as it is haha. So, while /I/ think it's very clear, it's actually a detail tons of people overlook! It's always nice when somebody picks up on it, thanks for sending this in <3

The whole thing with Lucanis being plucked up into a found family and becoming a happier healthier person for it are great but it makes me almost bitterly jealous on behalf of Illario. I think that guy would really flourish by having a group of friends (and maybe a lover). Imagine it. Imagine a version of Illario where he was appreciated and valued and given the attention and love he needed and deserved. I have no real coherent or interesting thoughts to add here all I have is this overwhelming need to give Illario friends.

So I debated responding to this at all, but I thought it would be educational to explain how & why I knew this was bait.

I will not post the ask uncensored because I don't want to contribute to a smear campaign.

Ask is anon; it must be answered publicly, meaning my followers will all see it. Whoever is sending it is unwilling to stand behind the warning.

It's about a follower- not someone I've collabed with, or am friends with, just some random follower. I wasn't sent this bc of personal culpability or concern for my safety; I was sent this bc I am a large enough blog to guarantee attention.

The goal is that most people will not do that, they'll get this ask and go 'Well I don't want to dm... but better block them, better safe than sorry." This also conveniently means that if the callout is fabricated or has insubstantial proof (an almost sure bet or else they would've just.. linked it here), it won't be subject to much/any scrutiny.

"Surely these aren't the sort of people you want to share spaces with" Note how there's time for several sentences emphasizing how much proof they have of how evil this person is... but I have to dm someone to find out ANY specifics. No brief summary of previous crimes, no indication that I would need to be concerned for anyone's safety (including my own), just the implication that I wouldn't want to be near someone so gross.

Anyways, in conclusion: this ask isn't meant to keep anyone safe, it's meant to scare & drive out the person targeted by spreading vague distrust to as many people as possible. If you get this message, don't answer it: your ask box is being used as a stage to convince your followers not to trust this person. Don't be a mouthpiece.

amab and afab, if they were used as shorthand for the actual full phrases that they signify, with emphasis on the "assigned" part, and an understanding that they are enforcements of normative (ie, dyadic and cisgender and binary) sex, would be like. really useful. but people took the terms and started using them as shorthand FOR normative sex instead of the ENFORCEMENT OF normative sex. so when other trans people (almost always dyadic trans people) ask for your agab they are almost always asking for your Original Genital Situation. your starting point, so to say. and the reason FOR asking is also almost always bc they are trying to also enforce a certain kind of normativity within queer spaces (which is stupid bc being queer is inherently non-normative but here we are). like, you cant be a lesbian if you're ftm, bc you ARE m, so if you ARE a lesbian, then that means you're lying about some aspect of your identity. does that make sense?

it is always always always incredibly.... i do not trust dyadic trans people that use cagab terms, even moreso than i do not trust dyadic trans people that just use agab terms. agab is also coopted intersex language, but the "coercive" part of cagab SPECIFICALLY refers to medical "intervention" of intersex characteristics, such as "corrective" surgeries and hrt. i am deeply fucking suspicious of any dyadic trans person that uses those terms exactly the same as described above, even moreso if they do so bc "all gender is coercive".

like. yeah. that's true. but you use these terms to erase and overtake intersex discussions on the medical abuse of intersex infants. and i cant help but wonder why you would feel the need to do that.
