The problem with being friends with someone for such a long time, approximately eight billion years, and going through the apocalypse with them to boot, is that you may start to develop a tiny, itty-bitty, eensy-weensy little crush on them. For once, Mike just lets the moment swallow him up. He doesn’t think of anything but the way it smells like sulfur and dew, her lavender musk and his clean earthiness. He sinks into the feeling of how their bodies press against his sides, hers small and soft, and his broad and thinly muscled. He falls into the light that makes the backs of his eyes hurt with how bright it is, the cracking boom of the fireworks above him crying out in a broken rhythm, like man-made thunder. Mike chooses not to be the explosive waiting to blow at the end of a burning wick, but instead, even if it's just for today, for this moment. For a second. He chooses to be the sparks, floating down from the sky and fizzling out into petals of ash. He chooses to let go. He wants to live in this new favorite memory for a while, so sticky sweet it will be impossible to forget.

Alright here’s the last round of the ship polls

Here are the descriptions for the ships since I know poly ships aren’t very known:

Elumax: Lucas, El, and Max. Most people that ship this are fans of both lumax and elmax so they combined them together. Wether or not Lucas and El are dating depends on the shipper, but Max is always dating El and Lucas.

The sapphic senate: like the name suggests, this is a big sapphic polycule. It normally contains Robin, Nancy, Chrissy, and Vickie— but sometimes Barb and other female characters will be added to the mix. I’m pretty sure it was created as a combination of ronance, rockie, and buckingham, but many people that ship it make them all date each other.

The partycule: basically everyone in the party dating each other. Well not everyone, but it’s sort of a “this is my boyfriend Will, and his boyfriend Mike, and Mike’s girlfriend El-“ type of thing.

Teens: basically all of the older teens dating each other. I’ve only seen this ship like once but I’m sure there’s a decent amount of people who like it. It’s a combination of steddie, ronance, stancy, jancy, etc.

Stoncy: Jonathon, Nancy, and Steve. Why have a love triangle when you can just be poly right? A mix of jancy, stancy, and stonathon. There might be times where stonathon gets taken out, idk I haven’t seen a lot of this ship.

Willelmike: this one’s pretty self explanatory. I haven’t personally seen anyone ship this but I know that it exists. It’s for people that like both mileven and byler. Will and El aren’t dating though, or at least I hope they aren’t.

Bywheelclair: Will, Mike, and Lucas. Byler + byclair + wheelclair, basically.

I didn't really like AU fics before Byler fandom. That just goes to show how amazing Byler fic writers are, that it got me to change my mind--something Very Hard to do. "He must have something useful in his bag, right?

Michael moves slowly when he shifts his bag into a more accessible position. Holly’s arm moves along with his, letting go seemingly the last thing on her mind. Her eyes are still fixed on Batty who crouched down to examine the paper. They’re wide, a little terrified even though she has nothing to fear. Michael will face the consequences, no matter what happens.

With a hand deep in his bag, trying not to make a noise he will regret instantly, Michael tries to recall what exactly he threw inside. He doesn’t remember much other than Dustin’s bewildered look when he cut off the curtains—which he mostly only did to see his reaction and because he can. If he leaves the castle in a cloak-and-dagger operation he will leave his parents with a present. Or steal something, seems more accurate.

It isn’t like Michael has never done anything illegal before, and stealing half the curtains in his own room should hardly count as a crime.

The object he finally feels at the bottom of his bag is a different story."
