In terms of Jedi Apologists pretending to be "woke" when their community is actually rife with homophobia, ableism, abuse apologism and yes to an extent- racism- I have one more point to add.
Never read their takes on mental health. I mean it, especially if you know someone who struggles with mental health issues or you do yourself. Some of their stuff is absolutely vile.
The amount of victim-blaming and the way they attribute mental health problems to "moral deficiency" or eqaute them with evil is absolutely vile. You would think we were still livng in Victorian times with some of these people.
Yeah. Like, Jedi apologists often fail to recognise how screwed up the canon actually makes the Jedi and instead try to defend them with any means necessary. I often have seen them jumping through hoops and bizarrely throwing around unrelated-topic words like "Homophobia", "Nazi" and "Racist" at people who critique the Jedi Order, both diluting these words which concern actual real-life, serious issues and insulting people at the same time all for the sake of fictional magic characters. It's definitely not "woke" to support a theocratic Order and fascist Republic that deals in slave soldiers.
It doesn't surprise me their takes on mental health are so wonky. I've seen them victim blame Ahsoka for the Wrong Jedi arc. Anyone hurt or taken advantage of by the Jedi Order is apparently always in the 'wrong', never the Jedi. They'd rather rip apart a teenage girl to protect precious middle aged idiots with cool lightsabers than actually evaluate the unethical actions of the Jedi Order and its relationship with the Republic.

Are Jedi Padawans Child Soldiers?
There is no doubt that most Jedi Padawans are child soldiers. A Few Padawans are over 18 years of age so we can’t say all, but most padawans, especially the padawans we get stories of are under 18 and as such would still be minors, assuming that 18 is the age of maturity for most species in Star wars, which I believe to be a safe assumption. In canon, we have three Jedi padawans where the story explicitly depicts them as child soldiers: Ahsoka, Cal, and Caleb.

In the year of our lord, 2024, some of the fandom is still approaching the Jedi Order with zero nuance

Help me dislodge my brainworms by reading my Star Wars story about being how being a Padawan during the Clone Wars is actually the most fucked up thing ever and even gay crushes can't save you from the Dark Side.

the sweetest moment in all of SW, and one i think of constantly, is in Rebels when the ghost of Yoda hesitantly waves to adult "I am no Jedi" Ahsoka
my HEART 😫😭💔
as a forceghost he's realized the wrongs of the Order under his guidance and always feels pain looking at their lost child, Ahsoka.
and so he extends this small, tentative olive branch, a wave, to this grown person who carries so much pain and who has stepped far and away from the Jedi, but never far from her own goodness. her own moral compass which is unyielding. this person who carries that pain with strength - the pain his Order made brick by brick, yard by yard. she pulls it behind her.
she who is trying with her whole soul to preserve some remnants of goodness in the Galaxy, the vestiges of the rebels, and Anakin, the lost son, himself.
all while committing to her own beliefs, and letting the Order rest in its death.
yoda knows, in some way, that strength comes from her teachings at the Temple. it was given to Anakin Skywalker and he gave it unto her. and her resolve to say goodbye to the Order? that strength and ethics? she learned that at the Temple, too.
that when Yoda looks at her he sees that while the Order may be fallen and its time had apparently come, that they still did not fail.
not entirely.
not while Ahsoka is there, strong enough not to be one of them.

This isn't plot relevant but I find it interesting that when asked, Cal says that he "wasn't a child soldier, not exactly"

Every single day I log onto Tumblr dot com and see star wars takes that clearly have no consideration for anything other than clone wars. It's a good show! Not the only part of the franchise tho

so we all know that war crimes exist in star wars, yes?
when and how did they get decided on? what event caused a space Geneva convention? what even counts as a war crime in star wars? did they change after the rise of the empire? how long had the space geneva convention been in effect?

Now that the trailer is out, it's probably best that I get this out of the way before acolyte releases
The Jedi are right about the Force and the dark side
The Jedi did not lose their way
The Jedi were not corrupted
The genocide of the Jedi was not their fault
The Jedi are not wrong for being part of the Republic, it is in fact a good thing
The Jedi are not arrogant for thinking the sith are gone
and while we're at it the sith are evil, always, end of discussion
The Jedi do not steal children
If someone wants to leave the Jedi, that's allowed, no one will stop them
The Jedi are right about attachment
Attachment is not love (SW uses the Buddhist definition because Lucas is a Buddhist and the Jedi are based off Buddhist monks, Buddhism defines attachment as being possessive or unwilling to let go of people or things)
The Jedi do not forbid emotions, they forbid being controlled by your emotions, you must control them
The Jedi are not forbidden from loving people, nor are they celibate, they just can't get married (big whup) because their duties must come first
Being peacekeepers doesn't preclude the Jedi from fighting in war, sometimes to keep the peace you have to fight back, especially when its against tyranny, see WWII (or Ukraine today)
Gray jedi are not a thing
The Jedi are not slavers or complicit in slavery
Oh and of course, the Jedi are not elitists for not training non Force sensitives, (Han voice) that's not how the Force works, dave filoni broke the rules so he could shoehorn sabine into a Jedi (to give the benefit of the doubt, I do believe sabine's role as ahsoka's apprentice was meant for an original character but things got condensed by executives, so maybe filoni isn't entirely to blame here)
(Edit)
The Jedi are not cops
The Jedi are not the government/the rulers of the Republic/galaxy
The Jedi do not persecute other Force groups
Padawans are not child soldiers
Feel free to add anything I forgot
Do not, DO NOT!! add anything Jedi critical, I'm done with it and won't hear it, don't have something nice to say? Then go away, I will block on sight, either reblog without comment (either in the reblog or the notes) or don't interact at all

"boohoo obi wan was such a stickler as a padawan he was all by the books and wouldn't break a rule to save his life"
my brother in christ. he was the worst one out of his entire lineage. he just learnt to poker face. man stayed behind on child soldier planet as a kid because he told qui gon to fuck off. he has never followed any rule but his own, he just knew how to lie. and also to be a bit more refined about it than his master and padawan

"was that its name?"
rewatching the acolyte (well, parts of it) and i am currently obsessed with reading into the dialogue with a slightly different perspective. like during jecki's death:
sol: jecki!
the stranger: was that its name?
sol: she was a child.
the stranger [shrugging]: you brought her here.
the first time i watched this scene, i totally thought qimir called jecki "it" at first just to be a dick. but it really speaks to the fact that qimir finds the jedi's values and philosophies to be inherently broken.
was jecki a soldier or a kid? pick one. was she a tool or a child? if she was the latter, why would you bring her here to hunt down a criminal that already killed two masters? obviously this is not a person who will hesitate to kill jedi.
you treated her it like a tool, and now you see the consequences of that unfold right before you; hence qimir makes a point of this. (also interesting to wonder how this could tie into his backstory with vernestra)
why would you bring a kid there? is it the enemy's fault when you choose to bring a child to the battlefield? is the enemy really responsible for her death, or you?
referring to jecki as "it" is, i think, a jab at the jedi for treating their padawan as tools, for choosing specific moments to humanize them or weaponize them (perhaps as his master did to him?) it's not because he didn't see her as a person—it's because he doesn't believe that the jedi truly did.
"the jedi live in a dream... an acolyte kills the dream."
but that's just my two cents.
