the sweetest moment in all of SW, and one i think of constantly, is in Rebels when the ghost of Yoda hesitantly waves to adult "I am no Jedi" Ahsoka
my HEART ๐Ÿ˜ซ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’”
as a forceghost he's realized the wrongs of the Order under his guidance and always feels pain looking at their lost child, Ahsoka.
and so he extends this small, tentative olive branch, a wave, to this grown person who carries so much pain and who has stepped far and away from the Jedi, but never far from her own goodness. her own moral compass which is unyielding. this person who carries that pain with strength - the pain his Order made brick by brick, yard by yard. she pulls it behind her.
she who is trying with her whole soul to preserve some remnants of goodness in the Galaxy, the vestiges of the rebels, and Anakin, the lost son, himself.
all while committing to her own beliefs, and letting the Order rest in its death.
yoda knows, in some way, that strength comes from her teachings at the Temple. it was given to Anakin Skywalker and he gave it unto her. and her resolve to say goodbye to the Order? that strength and ethics? she learned that at the Temple, too.
that when Yoda looks at her he sees that while the Order may be fallen and its time had apparently come, that they still did not fail.
not entirely.
not while Ahsoka is there, strong enough not to be one of them.
