Imagine being Mattholomule, Jerbo, and Selene in this scene. Like they’ve just defeated Kikimora to give Luz and the others space to teleport to the skull and defeat the Collector; And as they stay at Hexside, unable to follow due to the Collector’s spies as a threat, they see the Collector themselves at the Grudgby field with Luz, Eda, and King. The LEK trio aren’t puppets so maybe they actually have it handled? But then the Collector spots them and goes up close, and Matt and the others go nope and leave, Luz and King and an actual adult are clearly dealing with it anyway.

And realistically, even if those kids had responded to the Collector, the Collector probably would’ve left them behind to explore the Knee with LEK; No need to be urgent about anything, it’s all been resolved and it’s not like there was any upcoming dilemma, right…?

But now I’m imagining some AU where they follow the Collector and LEK around… And then were there when that whole final battle happened. Maybe helping the Collector save the Archives and the entire population within, because imagine those three in the final battle haha. I hope they didn’t realize Luz died and wished they’d been there to follow and protect her when it happened… But she’s alright now, so what can they do but keep going to Hexside together? Even attend Luz’s quincenera, sans Selene because she’s not even voiced or named lol.

Page of Wands: Luz and the Detention Kids Choosing Their Magic Tracks

Upright: Curiosity, finding your passion, adventure, inspiration, possibility, potential, free spirit

Reversed: Indecision, haste, lack of motivation, lack of passion, limited progress

The Pages of each suit represent the beginning of one's journey in relation to the elements the suit represents. The Wands represent the element of fire; they're all about your energy, motivations, creativity, ambitions, and passions. So, the Page of Wands can be understood to represent the first step in pursuing one's passions. The Page is curious, adventurous, ambitious, and energetic, though often inexperienced and naive. The Page is tasked with exploring the limitless possibilities in front of them, finding out what ignites their soul, and taking the first step toward realizing their goals. Reversed, the Page of Wands can indicate a lack of internal drive, stifled ambitions, and being overwhelmed by too many possibilities.

Viney, Jerbo, Barcus, and Luz all share their desire to explore more than just one magic track in school, but are all hindered by the "one-witch-one-coven" rule. In fact, they are punished for their enthusiasm for learning by being relegated to the detention track, unable to study anything at all, let alone multiple types of magic. They don't let this stop them, though; they sate their curiosity by using Eda's old secret hideout to take their desired classes anyway. They are finally allowed to pursue multiple tracks when they prove there's no inherent problem with doing so—that in fact, witches are stronger when they're not limited to just one type of magic. Tying into the Page's themes of beginnings, this episode marks the true beginning of Luz's education at Hexside, and plants the seed for the eventual dissolution of the coven system.

So I wanna clarify that in regards to the whole Jerbo=Jerma conspiracy theory, it was confirmed by writer John Bailey Owen (also referred to by his initials JBO, hint hint) that Jerbo was actually based on him, with no mention or acknowledgement of Jerma. For the record, this is what JBO looks like;

What’s funny is that in this same video (the Post-Hoot for Any Sport in a Storm), those present briefly discussed a few characters’ follower counts, and JBO jokingly suggested that unlike others, Jerbo would actually have “a lot” of fans online. Which if this is still a coincidence then this is getting ridiculous. Remember when the fandom speculated about humans having counterparts in the Demon Realm and vice-versa? Now we know Jerma’s.
