Hi everyone again. And today I will post another fanfic! If you want, you can send me ideas in private messages.
~ Echoes of the past ~
Beautiful summer night. She wrapped the town of Mineral Wells like a duvet. There is no one on the street anymore - all the residents are in beautiful houses and have wonderful dreams.
And there was peace and quiet in the Magic Shop. But one person couldn't sleep that night. The man's name is Carter Lock. Unfortunately, the boy is haunted by nightmares, and they are all connected with his past. After all, what the boy went through, you will not wish even the worst person. He was often starved, the boy and his "uncle" slept on the street. And the worst thing was: Uncle Sly forced him to steal, and every time he refused, Sly could insult the boy with the most unflattering words, and even beat him. Despite the fact that he now has a house, a comfortable bed, delicious food and, eventually, a family, he could not stop being afraid.
"What if Uncle Sly finds him here and takes him away? "
The boy abruptly got out of bed and began to walk around the room. He tried to calm down, but panic began to consume Carter, and at the same time, he began to breathe sharply and quickly, and his heart was pounding wildly. His eyes, like a clear sky, were covered with a veil of tears. In a panic, the boy accidentally knocked over a chair, but this noise was enough for the head of the family to wake up.
- What's going on? Dante thought, putting on soft slippers. The wizard left the room and listened.
- It was kind of from Carter's room.....I need to see if he's okay.
After the battle with B.B. Bosso, the boy moved to the Vernon family, because it turned out that Carter was Dante's nephew. However, Mr. Vernon noticed that Carter was getting bags under his eyes every day. Dante was asking him :
"Carter, my boy, is everything all right?"
Even the "misfits" were interested in his condition, but Carter waved him off, they say :
- It's okay, I'm fine.
Finally, when he came to the room and opened the door, he was really scared. The boy was sitting on the floor and trembling, tears were flowing from his eyes and it seemed that he was suffocating. He also hugged his shoulders too tightly.
Vernon immediately rushed to his nephew, after closing the door, sat down next to him and hugged him.
- Carter, Carter!- Dante called him , but the boy did not hear him, because there was such a ringing in his ears that you could hear it for kilometers. But then the boy realized that he was being hugged and held tightly in gentle, strong hands. Then he came to his senses.
- Uncle Dante.....what happened? The boy asked, not understanding.
- I couldn't sleep, so I decided to check on you.- the wizard replied. He was still holding his nephew in his arms.
- I see....- the boy understood everything, it was he who woke him up, but the boy did not want this. Tears started rolling down his cheeks again. Noticing this, the magician began to calm the boy.
-It's all right, my boy, I'm here. I will always be there for you.
Surely you thought that Dante would ask about Carter's fears? No. He figured it out himself. After a prolonged tantrum, the boy finally fell asleep.
Dante wanted to put him to bed and go to the bedroom, but he could not leave the child in such a state.
- If you were here...... Lyle ......
The wizard picked up the sleeping child and left the room. He was walking down the hall to his bedroom when his husband, James, met him.
- What happened? -The other Mr. Vernon asked. He was clearly agitated.
- He had a nightmare. Let him sleep with us tonight? the magician asked.
- of course. -James replied and kissed Dante on the cheek, then stroked the boy's hair.
-Thank you, James,-Dante said, and the three of them went into the bedroom.
Today Carter fell asleep in the arms of his loved ones and until the morning he will no longer be disturbed by the echoes of the past.

Children of ashes

In Tokyo,20xx
A young man with green hair and a black suit was wandering the alleys of Sparta City. He looked deep into an alley and saw two children. Curious he called out to them
"You both can come out now. I wouldn't hurt you. I even have food." He holds out a box of donuts.
Two children come out,one boy with dark skin and red hair and one girl with black hair and purple strikes. They both look about 7. They were also ragged and hungry,as both of them didn't have anything to eat in a while. The boy especially looked eager for the sweets.The girl, on the other hand,looked suspicious at the offer.
"Why are you giving us food?" The girl asked with doubt.
The man said calmly "Because you look hungry of course. Besides I ordered too many donuts."
They both take the box and run. The man shouts"Where are you going?"
The children stop in shock. The boy starts to ask"You actually care?"
The man answers with a smile"Of course". The boy walks to him"Thank you Sir" . The man smiles"
"So what happened to you 2 kids to be out here? Where are your parents"He asked them neutrally.
Tears streamed down the girl's face and the boy was holding back his. The man continued to pry"Come on, you can tell me".
"They're dead !!killed by bad people.. " the boy said with tears in his eyes.
The man looked sympathetic" Who are the bad people,?"
The boy looked unsure if he should talk . The girl, realizing the unease in her friend,looked around to see if anyone was listening. When she was sure ,she spoke" Fiona Veron sir ,she killed my parents and is planning on finding me and stealing my body."
The man nods "and the boy?" He asked with intrigue. The boy kept quiet and looked scared. Come on, little one.
"You can tell me, I'll keep you safe"the man said softly.
"It was the Trix"the boy whispered. "What was that little one" the man asked. After all, I wouldn't be able to here you if you don't speak up."he said staring into the boy's eyes."It. Was.The.TRIX!! They did it,and killed my whole apartment too!!! All for some dumb flute!!!! " The boy shouted ,tears now rolling down his cheeks.
The man decided to comfort the children"there , there, it's okay". The man then said "Do you know why it happened?"
The children kept quiet,not knowing what to say.
"It's because those people are monsters,in human skin,they are all you know? They act as if they are kind but in reality,they are all evil. The fact they can live on earth is a crime in it off it's self"
The children nodded" I could give you a place, you both can thrive but you will have to serve me loyalty" said the man.
The boy then said" We can do it!!! Please!!! Just give us a home".
"Good,know what your names are?" The man asked in a calm demeanor. "Nistro!" Said the boy. " Dextra! Sir!! Said the girl. The man smiled
"Nice to meet you, I'm Mr Heartland,you will call me sir " the kids nodded ,happy to have a home. Mr Heartland then said"Follow me I'll get you out of this awful place". The children smiled and did what they were told.
"Now don't worry little ones. You'll be safe. As long as you obey every word I say,of course".

HOME: Book 1 - CHAPTER TEN
MASTERLIST
“Come on, Veronica! Just tell me what Dumbledore needed you to do!”
Veronica rolled her eyes as she looked out the window of the Hogwarts Express. Charlie had not stopped asking her since he returned from the Christmas break, and no matter how many times she had told him that it was a secret, he kept asking. Even Bill had told him to drop it on several occasions, but Charlie couldn’t help it; he was curious by nature.
At the mention of Dumbledore, Veronica was brought back to a conversation she had had with him a week prior when she visited his office
* * *
“Ah, Veronica. Is Mr. Weasley still pestering you about the events that supposedly transpired over the Christmas break?” 
“Yes, sir.”
“And you still refuse to tell him the truth?”
“Yes, sir!” Veronica chuckled as she sat in one of the chairs across his desk.
Dumbledore smiled as he shook his head, changing the subject. “What are your plans for the summer? There’s only a week left before the holiday.”
“That’s actually what I came to talk to you about, Professor. I was wondering if you gave our previous conversation any more thought?”
“Veronica, I already told you. Students cannot stay at Hogwarts over the summer, no exceptions. I’m sorry.”
“I know, I know. But there has to be somewhere I can stay that isn’t with my parents.”
“As I have mentioned before, you could always stay with the Weasleys. I know they would be happy to have you.”
“Professor! I already told you I don’t want to burden them! Mr. and Mrs. Weasley have seven children of their own. They do not need an eighth.”
“Veronic-”
“Please Headmaster, just drop it. There has to be somewhere else, like a wizard hotel or something.”
“Well,” Dumbledore stood from his desk and began pacing around his office, “there is the inn above the Leaky Cauldron in Diagon Alley. I could inform the barman, Tom, that you will be staying there for the summer and ask him to give you a fair price on a room. And to keep an eye on you, of course.” Veronica’s eyes lit up, and she was about to thank him when he continued. “However, you will have to find your own way there from King’s Cross Station.”
Veronica jumped up and hugged the Headmaster tightly. She knew it was probably frowned upon, but she didn’t even care. She was so happy. “Thank you, Professor! Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
Dumbledore was unsure what to do as he had never been hugged by a student before. Awkwardly, he patted her head until she let go. “Alright, alright. Go on now, you’ll be late for class.”
“Thanks again, Professor.” Veronica made her way over to the door. “And get used to the hugs, Headmaster. I’m sure you’ll be getting a lot of them from me over the next six years.” The grin on Veronica’s face was priceless as she left Dumbledore flustered in his office.
* * *
“Veronica!” Charlie’s hand was waving in front of her face as she shook her head, being pulled out of her thoughts. “You weren’t even listening to me, were you.”
Veronica smiled shyly as she looked over at him. “Nope,” she admitted. “But I’m sure you were trying to convince me to tell you what Dumbledore had me doing over the Christmas break, even though I’ve told you a million and one times that I cannot tell you. Am I right?”
Charlie glared at her playfully as he shook his head. “Actually, no. I gave up on that. I was asking what you’ll be doing this summer. If you don’t have anything planned with your parents, you should come visit Bill and me at the Burrow. Mum and the others really want to meet you.”
Veronica’s hands clammed up at the thought of lying to Charlie again, but unfortunately, it had to be done. “Honestly, I’m not sure what my parents have planned for the summer, but we’ll definitely keep in touch over the break, and I’ll let you know if I can come over.”
Charlie beamed, but his smile faded as fast as it appeared. “How are we going to get letters to each other? Neither of us have owls. We have Errol, but he’s always busy doing things for mum and dad; I’m not sure he’ll ever be free for us to send letters back and forth to each other.”
Veronica shrugged, “I’ve been thinking about getting one actually.” Veronica knew on her first trip to Diagon Alley with Hagrid that she wanted an owl after he had explained their use to her. Her only concern at the time was explaining it to her parents when she went back to live with them in the summer. Now that she knew she wouldn’t be going back, she couldn’t wait to own one of her own.
“That’s great! Do you know what kind you’re going to get?”
“I’m still debating between the snowy owl and the jungle owlet. They’re both great options, but I’m leaning towards the snowy owl because it’s bigger, which means it’s usually faster and stronger. I want to make sure it’s able to carry heavy packages and fly for a long time.”
“That’s a great choice; they’re beautiful too.” Just like you, Charlie thought to himself. These types of thoughts have been crossing his mind more and more everyday, and he couldn’t understand why. Veronica was his best friend; he didn’t like her like that. Did he? No… it must just be Bill’s teasing getting to him. Yeah, that’s it.
Veronica nodded in agreement, but before she could respond, Bill had joined them in their compartment. As it always did when her and Charlie were together, the time had flown by, and they would be arriving at King’s Cross Station in five minutes. The plan was that Mr. Weasley would drop Veronica off at the Leaky Cauldron, where she told them she would be meeting her parents to buy her owl when they finished work that evening, and then they would make their way home. While this was not true, it was the best lie she could come up with that would prevent the three Weasley men from insisting on meeting her parents.
Grabbing their trunks, the trio made their way off the train, and Veronica could immediately pick out Mr. Weasley among the parents on the platform. That hair was impossible to miss. Veronica made sure to hang back for a minute to give the redheads a chance to reunite. After hugging his father, Charlie turned and ran over to her, dragging her towards his family. Veronica fiddled with her fingers nervously as she stood in front of the Weasley patriarch and avoided eye contact as she awaited his approval.
“Veronica!” Mr. Weasley shouted, causing her to flinch. When he raised his arms, Veronica braced herself, but was surprised when he pulled her in for a hug. Her own father had never hugged her like that, and no matter how much she tried to deny it, she craved this fatherly affection. Besides, Mr. Weasley was a good hugger. “It’s wonderful to meet you, darling. Molly and I have heard so much about you. She wishes she could have been here to meet you, but she had to stay home with the children. She sends her love and wanted me to let you know that you are welcome at our home anytime. Which I second, of course.”
When Veronica looked up at him, he was already smiling down at her. “Thank you very much, Mr. Weasley. That means a lot to me.”
“Call me Arthur, dear. Now come on, you lot. Let’s get to the car.” 
As they made their way through the station and out into the parking lot, Veronica couldn’t help but notice the relationship between her friends and their father. It was lively and joyful; it was obvious that they felt at ease and safe with him. Veronica wished she hadn't been filled with envy at the sight, but that was all she ever wanted her whole life: the love of a parent.
As they drove, Mr. Weasley bombarded Veronica with all the muggle questions he could think of, and by the time they arrived at the Leaky Cauldron, he was silent, thinking about everything she had told him. Bill and Charlie helped her with her trunk, and she hugged them all goodbye.
“Thank you so much for the ride, Mr. Weasley. I really appreciate it.”
“Arthur, dear. And it was my pleasure, you’re practically family. Thank you for answering all my questions.”
“No worries, it was fun.” Veronica then turned to her two friends. “We’ll be in touch once I get my owl, right?” The boys nodded simultaneously. “Good. I’ll miss you guys.” If only they knew how much; this summer would be a lonely one for her.
“Well, you don’t need to miss us too much, just come visit!”
“I’ll do my best, Charlie!” The pain she felt in her chest every time she lied to him was nothing compared to the pain she felt when she watched them drive away.

Unlikely Places - Chapter 32 - Part 2

Chapter: 32 - For Myself
The excitement was still there the next morning as I parked my car and glanced up out the windshield to the building in front of me.
I marveled at how at ease I felt this time around compared to my first visit here.
Though not much time had passed it felt like I had changed immeasurably.
I didn't dread this meeting.
I wasn't anxious about walking into the building.
I wasn't insecure about my capabilities or the expectation of them.
I felt I could handle about everything that came my way.
It was so odd to feel this secure.
Thinking about it started small butterflies in my stomach and the familiarity of the sensation had me smiling ruefully to myself.
Changes, I corrected myself, not changed.
I quickly decided the best thing I could do for myself was to stop thinking about it and get on with living.
I would surely run into issues and I would deal with them like I usually had done.
Baby steps.
I walked into the office building and took the elevator up.
Mr. Johnstone had told me in the email that the meeting would be held in the same room after I had assured him, he didn't need to meet me downstairs again.
A few minutes later I strolled into the meeting, pleased more than I could say at the sight of Pierce sitting in the chair he had sat the first time I came here.
I glanced at him but my eyes quickly shied away in nervousness.
The last time I saw him I had been intimately plastered against his body, both of us breathing harshly and painfully aroused.
I had never encountered this kind of situation before and I felt stupidly ill equipped as to how to handle it now.
I simply took the seat I had used before and waited for the others to enter the room.
I knew Pierce looked over at me and my eyes shot up to say a quick hello.
He had a playful smile dancing on his lip and his ice eyes sparkled at me, showing the humor he was doing a bad job of hiding, if he was even trying.
I coughed lightly into my fist and glanced away and then back at him, trying my best to act normal but it wasn't the easiest thing to do with him not a foot away from me.
Shockingly, I realized it would have been easier for me if we could have acknowledged each other as simply each other.
Unfortunately, though under the circumstances, I knew we needed to be discreet despite it making things more awkward for me.
I was learning in this moment that I didn't pretend very well.
It was a weird thing to learn about oneself during a business meeting.
Thankfully Vernon and T.J. arrived along with Amber traipsing in behind them.
Vernon as usual looked prickly and T.J. looked as harassed as was his norm.
Amber though looked oddly flustered and though she said a hello in my general direction she was failing to make eye contact with me.
Before I could ponder why though, Mr. Johnstone started speaking to start the meeting.
The first fifteen minutes went smoothly.
I sensed nothing amiss and listened attentively as Mr. Johnston and Vernon discussed the setup and potential delays.
After that came Vernon's presentation.
That was when things started to go wrong.
The presentation given by Veron was the exact same as he had sent me yesterday.
He had made none of the changes I had spent two hours working on.
It lacked the pertinent details required to fit Pierce's expectations.
I glanced over at Pierce and could tell he wasn't impressed and actually looked angry.
A tight knot of anxiety formed in the pit of my stomach.
Vernon seemed oblivious to Pierce's displeasure though and he continued on to the end as if everything was perfect.
He apparently was the only one.
Mr. Johnstone looked quite miffed as well.
T.J. and Amber looked ill at ease.
The ball dropped for me then and I had a light bulb moment.
Amber's inability to meet my eyes when she had come in was making more sense.
She knew Vernon hadn't heeded my changes but she hadn't known what to do about it.
I sighed inwardly, trying to steady my breathing.
My work was my work.
The fact that he was presenting this half-completed presentation with my supposed approval was devastating to me.
I felt my old self returning.
I wanted to hide away where I didn't have to deal with people and their pettiness.
I wanted peace and quiet and to be left alone where I knew no one could undermine me or the job I do.
I glanced over at Pierce and the disappointment on his face made things even worse.
I sat silently as he piece by piece broke down all the sections that were lacking and there were quite a few.
All but one of the things were what I had revised myself and sent to Vernon to correct or add.
Looking at me, Pierce asked directly.
"Is there any reason why you didn't think to make these changes?"
I fumbled to speak.
Nerves were interfering with my brain and I couldn't seem to find the words to explain.
My eyes darted to Vernon who looked pleased with himself.
"I trusted that since this meeting was called that that meant you had looked things over and made changes where applicable. I am finding it hard to believe Jackson, that you couldn't do better than this."
The anxiety grew and a detached part of myself marveled that not that very long ago I had felt calm and positive and actually comfortable.
All of that was being destroyed and I hadn't even done anything wrong.
Frustrated with the situation and myself I struggled through the chaos of my mind and fought hard to speak up.
Before I could though Vernon did, is look and voice were falsely sincere. I could tell he was striving hard to make me look even worse than I already did.
"This is what Jackson approved. I was a bit disappointed myself but..." he said, trailing off insinuatingly.
My eyes locked with Amber's and I could tell she wanted to speak up but was afraid to do so.
Afraid like me.
Why either of us were afraid was beyond me.
Vernon was lying.
Why was I letting him get away with it?
Why was I letting my anxiety flare up and cloud my mind?
I lay both of my hands on the table and clenched them into fists.
Looking down I closed my eyes and concentrated on my breathing.
I heard Pierce's harsh intake of breath and him say my name but I ignored him.
I had to fight the internal conflict raging inside me.
I had no desire to go backwards.
I wanted to break free of this debilitating and often times irrational anxiety that had plagued me for so long.
For my work, for myself I had to do this.
I heard Vernon try to speak again but Pierce harshly cut him off.
I was thankful in that moment that he was giving me the time I needed and in doing so giving me back some of my confidence.
After a few moments, my composure somewhat in check, I unclenched my fists and reached down to my case by my feet.
I heard Pierce say my name again but I ignored him.
I needed to keep focused for what was about to happen.
I hated confrontations.
I never started them.
I avoided them at all costs but today I was about take on one head on.
Reaching in my bag I drew out the small black thumb drive that had a presentation that I had at the last moment created on my own.
To the room at large I announced.
"Let me show you the presentation you should have been given."

Top 10 favorite books of any genre

Dragon Ball, Akira Toriyama. This series means a lot to me, I grew up both reading the manga and watching the anime, and even today I love this story wholeheartedly and I'm sad that people forget that "Dragon Ball Z" is only part of it.
Gaston Lagaffe, Franquin. This comic series never fails to make me laugh!
Karekano, Masami Tsuda. One of my all-time favourite shoujo manga; if Dragon Ball and Sailor Moon remind me of my childhood, then Karekano reminds me of my teenage years in a good way. It's a good mix of comedy and emotions, the whole cast is very endearing and lovely to follow, it made me cry and laugh so much, and just remembering some part of it makes my heart warm. Not perfect of course, but still an excellent read!
Worlds of Ewilan, Pierre Bottero. It's a story told in three trilogies (haha), and they are all wonderful! I picked this cover because it must be the book that I love the most. The world created by Pierre Bottero is amazing, and he really had (sob) a way to write group of people travelling, getting to know each other and bond; so when a character dies, you really feel the pain with everyone else TT_TT
Wonder Paris, Pierre Pevel. A story written by one of the best French fantasy writers (in my humble opinion!), I remember how the bookseller of my fav bookshop back then rushed to me when it was edited again, telling me "This is a series you are going to love! It's just what you asked me a while ago!" and he was so right! A story set in Paris that is a gateway to the Fairies World, with tons of magical creatures now living on Earth, mystery, action, humour and great characters? I recommend it!
The Miniaturist, Jessie Burton. A wonderful surprise, I was afraid it might be a horror book of a style I might not like, and I don't regret buying it! The historical aspect of the story is great, and I love the heroine's development!
Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde, Robert Louis Stevenson. If you take a look at my fanfics, my blog and my writing side blog, you might not be very surprised XD I just love this story.
Beauté, Hubert & Kerascoët. An adult fairytale where a poor girl's wish gets her into a chaotic spiral! Love the heroine's character development, the world-building and the lore!
Chewing gum and Spaghetti, Exbrayat. I am sad so few people know about Exbrayat, he's such a great writer! And this book is my favourite so far. Send a rigid American inspector in Verone of all towns in Italy, team him up with an eccentric, romantic but competent Italian inspector, and you have this! A ton of fun XD
The Chronicles of Prydain, Lloyd Alexander. Another fantasy series (yeah I love them), it's one of the best coming-of-age I've read.

One of my fav aus is snape leaving Hogwarts to another continent , but do you know what's funnier??? Petunia also leaving England for the same continent.
And they just stare at each other when they spit each other in a Café , spider man meme style internally, vowing to each other if they get caught by Lilly, they will never ever rat the other one out.
But like Petunia has a sibling and she's very much alive and thanks to the powers of idk therapy and getting sufficient sunshine she visits her sisters family once or twice a year, max for maybe a month.
Flash forward 7 to 10 years later, the potters blacks and maybe the whole order of the Phoenix are talking about highschool. Regulus black ( who I have decided is also alive) talks about the unfairness of dumbledores bias.
Petunia ( drunken on magical wine and a chatty drunk) goes :oh fuck me I can see why snape never came back, good on him.
Lilly :... I'm sorry what do you mean he is alive? You're telling me he's okay!??? Why hasn't he visited me or anyone else?
Petunia : of course he's alive, are you daft? He barely participated in both sides of the war, sure he was a potential candidate but snape cared about one thing. Potions when he realized the world is bigger than England he left.
Now I'm not super close to him but i think we both shared milestones, mine with my promotion in my career, the breaking of the engagement with Veron cheeky fucker you know, gave me a cake that said 'good riddance to the sad bastard' . And his with his marriage, his first child's birthday and ya other things. And his entire life is there Lilly, his family is there. his agenda has now become snape the family man and potions, he would never come back here nor send his children here because well like Mr black was saying biases still occur, and as a parent you are supposed to love and protect your children, so why throw them to the wolves or a place where he felt there was no love in that place or any support? God it's no wonder why he and I agreed mentally to never tell you.
The rest of the group :*looks of indignation and momentary sadness, James Potter looking at his wife with a slight look of pity and guilt *
Petunia : which I fucking realized that I just broke it. Oh well it's been what more than 7 years and I think you should let the past stay in the past let people move in and if they haven't reached out it could either be two options a) he couldn't because of some barrier or b) he doesn't want to.
Oh my god I literally love this!! Severus really should’ve moved somewhere else and just abandoned everyone, god knows Hogwarts doesn’t deserve him! Also, I love that you kept Reggie alive!!❤️
And the “thanks to the power of idk therapy and getting sufficient sunshine” part literally killed me for no reason.😭😭

wanted to watch west end heathers again because veronica & jd simply mean so much to me (off broadway has the best veronic of them all but west end veronica is great in different ways + west end jd best jd ever) but then i was too busy trying to identify the flute music from the wilbur soot water rising video. i knew it was kevin macleod because hes wilburs little meow meow and the only music credits in the descriptions were for the incompetech soundtrack by mr macleod so i went and listened to the beginning of like 77/90 songs on that album (?) and didnt find it but then i remembered that shazam existed (because someone in the comments of one of the incompetech songs mentioned it) and then i downloaded it on chrome (in general i would rather die than use anything other than firefox) and used it and found the song. its in the west by kevin macleod btw. like if you even care. but now i dont have enough time to watch west end heathers before my beddy bye

Random thought...The Grangers can't handle a 5 year old Hermiones burst of accidental magic, the last straw for them is when she shatters all the windows at their practice and are afraid her "freakishness" will rub off on their new born son. They decide that they are going to move to Australia but without Hermione, afraid of what people will say at a orphanage when she has one of her "freak outs" they decide to abandon her in the Forest of Dean.
The day before they are to fly out they leave early to take her to the forest, when there Mr. Granger hikes 25 miles in and "generously" sets her up with a small tent, blanket, some books, water and food. He tells her to wait there while he gets her mother and brother, that he'll be back real quick but Hermione already knows he won't shes 5 not stupid she knows that the things she can do scares them and since her baby brother was born they never let her around him but she doesn't say anything just smiles sadly and says "Its okay daddy." Mr. Granger hesitates for a moment but remembering all the freak accidents just nods his head and continues on.
Little do the Grangers know that only a day before Veron Dursley tired of dealing with his wife's nephew decides that he's not going to waste good money on a "freak" takes his nephew to a forest, kicks him out of the car and tells him to start walking till they come for him. Harry with only the clothes on his back and ripped up shoes starts walking knowing that if he stops and his Uncle does come after him that there will be more pain, but no one ever comes and now its dark and Harry is scared. He's able to find some shelter in a cave that blocks out the wind to spend the night in and though his stomach is growling he's used to it, he sets out the next morning and comes across Hermione. Hermione startled to see another kid ask
"Have you been left behind too?"
Harry "I think so? My Uncle told me to keep walking and don't stop but my feet hurt."
Hermione "Oh, my daddy told me to stay here and wait, I don't think he's coming back. Mommy and daddy are scared of me cause I make things happen."
Harry "I can make things happen too. Umm can I stay with you please? I don't want to walk anymore."
Hermione "Of course we can help each other, itll be me and you from now on. Always!"
Harry gives her a big smile "Always!"
Magic witnessing the abandonment of her children decides to send her most fiercest beast to not only raise the children but teach them as well. She send a nesting Horntail named Myrina to take the kids in as her hatchlings and takes them away that very day, she gifts both children with the knowledgeand understanding of Dragons as well as the ability to speak to them. Myrina takes them to her hoard and there they learn about magic and all it entails and how to be warriors, they learn how to become dragon riders and both end up with a familiar bond with one of their hatch mates.
Mr.Granger racked with guilt of what he's just done to his own child talks to the Mrs who feels the same way. They have a change of heart and rush back, by the time they get there night has fallen having camped there many times knows where to go but its too late Magic has reclaimed what is hers. He approached the little campsite and calls out for Hermione letting her know he's back but gets no answer, thinking she's asleep he opens the tent and finds it empty. He starts to panic and begins yelling for her.
Mr. Granger "HERMIONE! HERMIONE WHERE ARE YOU? HERMIONE I'M BACK, I CAME BACK! I'M SO SORRY SWEETIE BUT DADDYS BACK. I PROMISE WE WONT LEAVE YOU AGAIN JUST ANSWER DADDY AND I'LL COME GET YOU AND WE'LL GO HOME...HERMIONE PLEASE SWEETIE WE'RE SO SORRY!!!"
He continues to look for her but never finds her.

Request= Here is another request. What if Cipher wanted Carter Verone's help but when he refused she kidnapped a pregnant Owen. Cue Carter going to Brian for help and Deckard and Hobbs rescuing Owen and Baby Brian.
Carter leaned back in his beach chair, enjoying the cool drink in his hand and the sun warming his body.
Hawaii was the best place to hide from the cops, in Carter's opinion.
Suddenly, be felt a shadow cross over him and block out the sun. Opening his eyes, Carter rose and eyebrow when he saw a woman standing in front of him
She was smirking, a hand on her hip as she looked down at him
"Carter Verone?" She asked smoothly
"Yeah? Who's asking?" He snapped. Nobody should know that he was there
"Just someone who has a job you might be interested in."
"Shove it, lady." Carter hissed. "I'm on vacation."
"Maybe you'll change your mind after you see this." The woman shrugged, her smirk growing bigger as she handed him a tablet.
Looking up at her suspiciously, Carter took the tablet and saw a video playing
His heart stopped
He watched as Owen Shaw paced in a small room, looking just like an angry panther. But, as Carter looked closer, he could see Owen cradling a very big belly
"That's..." Carter whispered
He hadn't seen Owen in months. The last time they had been together, they had tumbled into bed and the next morning saying goodbye again.
Wait. Several months
"The baby's your's." The woman boldly told him. Glancing away from the video, Carter saw the woman lean closer. "So, if you don't want either him or the kid to be hurt, you might want to reconsider my offer."
Carter glared at the woman, hands clenched tightly around the tablet

Jaw clenched, Carter knocked on the door in front of him and waited
"Hold on, I'm coming!" A voice called out. Suddenly, the door opened and revealed Brian O'Conner, who's smile immediately dropped when he saw Carter. "What the fuck are you doing here?"
"Heard you've gone traitor," Carter smirked. "Thought I'd drop by and congratulate you.'
"Fuck off, you prick." Brian hissed at him. "Get the hell out of here before I beat your ass."
"Fine." Carter rolled his eyes. "I need your help."
"What? Why would you need my help?" Brian narrowed his eyes
"Some bitch kidnapped my very pregnant boyfriend." Carter explained. "And I need help getting him out of there. I heard some of your friends are in a similar boat as me."
Brian stared at him, not sure if he should believe the story or not. But, as he looked closer, he could see the dark circles under under Carter's eyes. Maybe he wasn't lying
"Let me make a few calls and see what I can do."

Carter sat with his hands clasped in front of him, leg bouncing up and down as he kept glancing at the door to the roof
Where the fuck was Owen?
Deckard had called him and said that they were on their way. But they still weren't there
After having to work with Toretto's crew, Carter was exhausted and just wanted to see Owen and make sure he was actually all right
He had been recruited by Mr. Nobody and forced to go into the freezing cold to battle a submarine just to make sure Owen was safe
So, where the hell was he?!
But, even though Carter felt close to screaming that to the sky, the roof's door finally opened, revealing Deckard and Owen Shaw
Deckard was carrying a baby carrier, no doubt Toretto's son, and had an arm wrapped around Owen's waist
Without hesitation, Carter was on his feet and making a beeline for the brothers
"Cart!" Owen's eyes were wide as he broke away from Deckard to run into Carter's arms.
Hugging him tightly, Carter let out a long sigh of relief. He never thought he'd ever feel Owen in his arms again
They stayed like that for some time, quietly whispering to each other.
"Never do that again, Owen." Carter begged quietly
"Wasn't bloody planning on it," Owen chuckled. "And I'm sure the little tyke would want to either."
He looked down, rubbing a hand over his belly. Carter reached out and put his own hand on top of Owen's
"Good. I don't know what I would have done if either of you had gotten hurt."
Owen smiled at him and leaned in for a kiss

A Defining Moment
Summary: A hero wants to know what is threatening his home and friends. An alchemist wants to have a chance to help. And a Veron Mystic just wants one moment to share her burden with another. But the road to hell, and the Skeleton King, are paved with good intentions A/N: Some backstory for my OC’s Pheena and Flora, as well as showing my theories about how having an eldritch abomination seal in its core would affect Shuggazoom. Also, here is an explanation for why its ‘Sparks’ here when I normally write it as ‘Sprx’ elsewhere.

Captain Shuggazoom may have left all matters scientific, magical, and otherworldly to his friends, but that didn’t mean he was stupid. He did have a city to protect, and more often than not that was on his own. Sure it was always great when his friends were able to pitch in, and the Alchemist’s inventions were always a boon, but a tool could only get you so far. He had to rely on his wits, instinct, and experience to make the most out of his friend’s help.
And then there was his life as Clayton Carrington, where he had to use his smarts to appear as dumb as he did. It was a balancing act, playing the part of airhead playboy while also subtly manipulating his handlers so that his family’s company and wealth were being used how he wanted them to. He had long since learned how to anticipate people’s behaviors, and how to act so that they would react in the way he wanted. It may not be like the volumes of facts and physics and what not Pheena and the Alchemist knew, but it was intelligence all the same and the price he paid for ensuring that Captain Shuggazoom stayed as far away from Clayton Carrington as possible.
But it meant that he knew how to read people. And pattern recognition was an important skin in both sides of his life.
He observed and these were the facts that didn’t escape his notice: Delpheena just so happened to get leave from the Varon Mystics at the same time as a monster attack. But it wasn’t a normal monster attack, the result of his enemy releasing some beast on the city to accomplish their goals. Because if that was the case, the monsters would be targeting the city. Instead, these beasts always focused on someplace away from the city. It was places like desolated quarries that weren’t even used for mining anymore, an island out in the middle of nowhere that was barren save a ring of stone pillars, and a temple hidden among the jungle the Alchemist also lived in.
That one was literally too close to the Alchemist’s base for comfort. Attacks on the city were on thing, because more often than not Clayton Carrington was there and could easily slip out for Captain Shuggazoom to appear. But even at his fastest, it still took him a while to get to the Alchemist’s. Sure, his friend was a great wielder of magic and machines, but he also had a troop of baby monkeys to look after as well, not to mention whatever else was lurking in the Shuggazoom-forshaken foliage.
Something was going on, and it may not be threatening his city directly, but it was threatening his friends and that was enough for him.
Especially when they didn’t even become aware of the beast until they discovered Pheena was missing, and when the Alchemist was able to track her down, there was the beast, with her glowing green sword through its heart.
She had greeted them like it was any other time, like it was routine to meet each other among the corpse of a slain beast.  Or she tried, but it was hard to ignore the surrounding, the dark sludges dusting her uniform, or even how tired she was behind the façade of normalcy she tried to maintain.
He didn’t say anything, allowing his thoughts to stew as she babbled (with more effort and pauses to catch her breath than normal) about whatever caught her fancy, the Alchemist occasionally chipping in with his two cents so there would be some semblance of a conversation
Because here it was again, the way she tried to downplay it and wave it off as nothing to worry about, only to try way too hard. She only seem to genuinely relax once they were back to the Alchemist’s lab and she was playing with his troop of monkeys.
He leaned against a wall, just watching how genuine her smile became and some of the exhaustion left her shoulders as she let them crawl and climb over her. Even Mandarin, the oldest who usually preferred to hang back and observe, approached her as he and Antauri played with the draped edge of her cloak.  She especially perked up when Flora, the smallest and youngest of them, woke up and wanted to be cuddled by her.
Maybe that was why he finally felt time was right to speak.
“Sucks how your leave is always interrupted by monster attacks.”
“Yeah, my luck has just been so bad lately. I don’t know why I’ve been so unlucky, but at least I have my good luck charm here” Sparks chirped in response, and she giggled. “Isn’t that right, Lucky?”” She giggles as she takes Spark’s hands into her own and shakes them in rhythm with her chant. “Lucky, lucky monkey, good luck charm!” 
Sparks squealed in delights with her, and from her lap Flora chirped and reached her hands out to their clasped ones.
She use to do something similar with her siblings, way back when they were kids. Whenever she was babysitting them and a serious issue came up, she would quickly change the subject with a silly song or joke or some other distraction. Anything to distract from the things she didn’t want them to think about.
That was fine when she was babysitting her siblings, but not now as adults. Pheena was a year older than him and the Alchemist and never let them catch up to her. When they were kids, a year meant so much more and did make things different for her. She was the first to double digits, new schools, and graduations. She was even the first to leave Shuggazoom when that Master Zan recruited her into the Varon Mystics. But as they aged and that year became more negligible, she still refused to let them close the gulf. He and the Alchemist had caught up to her, but she never let them in. 
“Well, I’ve been getting pretty lucky myself lately,” At that, she turned to him to stare enough that he caught what he just implied. “Get your mind out of gutter, I mean that things have been going well in both my heroic and civilian life. I’m sure it could help counter your own bad luck, so I’m open to assisting you however you can.”
“Of course that is what you meant Mr. Shuggazoom’s most eligible bachelor,” She chuckled, but it was forced, “But what if instead my bad luck ends up taking over your good luck? Then you or the city could get hurt?” She shook her head and looked him in the eye for the first time the entire evening. “No, its better if I’m still on my own and you keep doing your own thing. So Shuggazoom’s golden boy doesn’t have to worry about little old me, okay.”
He frowned but she just kept staring, trying to hammer the point home without speaking. She only let up when Flora began to climb out of her lap, trying to steady onto her feet and walk over to the rest of the monkeys. Sparks was still by her lap, as was Otto who poked at the nearby Gibson to look his way. Nova, ever adventures, had climbed onto Pheena’s shoulders while were still a playing with her cloak.
He had to smile at the scene, especially how Sparks reached out to help Flora as she tried to steady her stance, Nova chirping encouragement, and Otto clapping his hands. They really were amazing creatures and every time he visited it was a treat to see them grow and develop. Gibson always hung around the Alchemist lab, Otto tried to get his hands on his gadgets, and Nova took to imitating his fighting stances from the battle clips they watched. Antauri had even begun mimicking their lotus positions during meditation!
If he wasn’t so busy, in both facets of his life, he would be severely tempted to ask the Alchemist if he could keep one. He wouldn’t mind the company when he had to be away in the city. Maybe he could ask the Alchemist about it…
Flora slipped, but Pheena quickly had a hand under her belly to catch her. “Don’t worry, everything is okay.” She said with just enough emphasis his way that he knew she wasn’t talking to just the monkeys.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t think of anything to say that wouldn’t devolve into arguments. “Well, I have to get going. Got things to do and people to see. Will I get we get a chance to meet up again before you head back?”
“Probably not,” And for once there was a break, a genuine gleam of sadness to her eyes before she fixed it away, “I’ll be heading back to Karaladol once I’m done saying goodbyes to Patches and the monkeys. The masters will want an update about what I’ve been getting underfoot about.”
“Before you leave, I want to show you something I’ve been working on Captain,” Spoke up the Alchemist, who had otherwise blended into the background of the lab and their conversation, “Would you be fine with watching the monkeys while I’m gone Pheena?”
“Of course,” She laughed as the monkeys tried to fill her lap, now empty since she was holding Flora. It was a good thing she was being overwhelmed with the cute, otherwise she might have caught the look that was shared between her two friends. Or that they were walking not towards the Alchemist’s lab, but the secluded hallway that led to the front door exit.
She also didn’t see how Captain Shuggazoom let out a huff. “She’s hiding something,” He said, his frustration venting out through gritted teeth.
The Alchemist nodded. “She is.”
“Do you have any idea what it could be? I figured that it’s probably related to the monster attacks but that is as far as I got.”
“I have some theories, but nothing concrete.”
He frowned as he ran a hand through his hair, as if it would stimulate his brain to come up with a solution. “Do you want to try talking to her about it? You’re better with this spiritual stuff than I am, so you’ll understand it more than me anyway.”
“I doubt she’ll be more open with me, but I can try. I do have some questions for her about the Power Primate that might help illuminate some things.”
And probably would involve things Captain Shuggazoom couldn’t even begin to understand, but he was use to that now.  The Alchemist and Pheena would deal with esoteric magics and spirits, while he would always be here, protecting Shuggazoom and the home they could return to.
“Best of luck to you then, old friend.” Captain Shuggazoom put his helmet back on, but before slipping the cover, he turned towards the front of the hallway to shout. “I’m heading out now, Pheena, see you next time!”
“See you then, Goldie!” Her voice, somewhat muffled by the distance, replied. His helmet’s screen then slide into place, his cape fluttering behind him as he walked out the lab.
(But there wouldn’t be a next time for the two of them)

The Alchemist got into the habit of always makings sure the front door slide into place when Captain Shuggazoom left. It was suppose to automatically close, but there was always a chance of a bug or leaf or some other factor interfering with the mechanism. The Captain would probably say his magic could handle any creature that dared to walk in, but his biggest fear was more of what could get out.
His monkeys were at a precocious age, all save the youngest steady on their feet and ready to explore. He had plans that would allow them to stand up against the threats around their home, but that was for the future. For now they were small and curious and needed the front door to stay closed.
It also gave him an excuse to take a moment to think about what he and the Captain discussed, and how he would approach Pheena.
There was the blessing that the time made for a good conversation segue-way. “It’s almost feeding time for them again.” He said as he returned to the monkey covered pile that was his other childhood friend.
“Alright,” She laughed as she careful stood up and gently pried the monkeys off of her. “You heard him, it snack time!”
Pheena still kept Flora in her arms, so he handed her a bottle. The littlest monkey was doing better, and able to eat some solid food, but she still needed some formula supplements. Pheena happily took to the time-consuming task of bottle feeding her, allowing him to focus on the rest of his monkey troop.
He sat down a plate of fruit, vegetables, and other snacks. There was a cascade of squeals as they clamored over the plate, Mandarin trying to ensure some semblance of order by making sure no one monkey hoarded all of one type. But the afternoon playing made him as hungry as his younger peers, so he gave up at a point to stuff his face from the selection of citrus. And then, with bellies full, they all let out a yawn, one by one in turn, and curled up in a file of fluff and fur to sleep.
The Alchemist reached down to clean up the scraps of peels and rinds left on the floor and turned around with the now empty plate towards Pheena, only to find her gone.
Frowning, he placed the plate on one of the many tables that littered his lab, reviewing where she could have gone. She still had Flora, he thought as he put a blanket over the rest of his sleeping monkeys, so he was pretty sure that she hadn’t returned to Karaladol behind his back.
Or at least he would like to think she wouldn’t, but she became more of a stranger with each visit
There was a change in the atmosphere, a slight shifting in the aura of the area that his magical training let him pick up on. It was the same feel when Pheena used her Power Primate abilities and was coming from another room.
Pheena was there, the empty bottle discard off to the side and a sleeping Flora clutched to her chest. Her eyes were glowing white-green, bright enough that he couldn’t see her blue irises but it did seem that she wasn’t focusing on something in the room.
“Pheena?”
She gasped as the glow subsided, her irises reappearing as she turned to him. “Oh, it’s just you Patches! Sorry, I just wanted a quieter place to feed our little Sprout.”
“That didn’t seem to be the only reason.”
She shrugged, “Just scanning the area and practicing my technique. It’s one thing to read a single life force, but it’s another, harder thing to be able to spread it out.”
“And the Veron Mystics taught you that. Did they teach you anything else?”
“Oh, just things that I don’t think you’ll understand.”
He walked up to her, towering over her even with her standing upright. “Try me.”
There was a flicker of something on her face before she smiled. “Oh Patches, trust me, it not something you’ll be interesting in knowing-”
“If it troubles you, of course I want to know.” She backed off at her interruption, “Pheena, Clayton and I both know that something is going on. It’s just not these monster attacks, but your behavior as well. We know you’re trying to hide something from us.”
“I’m not-“
“We know you too well. And it’s because of that we are worried for you. Especially because I know something is up. I can tell with my magic, that you are battling some force far bigger than petty crooks and super villains.”
She was stricken silent, the smile slipping from her face as she stared at him. There was a gaunt paleness to her skin, and combined with the dark coloring of her Veron Mystic clothing, it made her look deathly ill.
The Alchemist’s heart ached with a need to help. He was all too use to being resigned to the sidelines. He wasn’t born with gifts the way Clayton and Pheena were, he didn’t have super strength and flight like Clayton, or read mind like Pheena. All he had was his mind, an ability to consume and absorb the offer conflicting knowledge of magic and science into a harmonious mix.
And it was through knowledge that he was able to do good, even if it wasn’t directly. It was why he labored so long with Maezono and Takeuchi to create the Super Robot, a prototype for future fighting machines that could be used for good. It was why he happily made weapons and tools to assist Captain Shuggazoom in defending the city.  It was why he had such big plans for his monkey team.
It was why he wanted more than anything to know what weight Pheena carried on her shoulders.
He bend down, putting his hands on her shoulder as they stood face to face. “Please Pheena, we’re your friends.  Let us help you, let me help you, even if it as a sympathetic ear for the burdens you bear.”
The silence seemed as heavy as she took in his words, looking away from him mismatched stare. He found himself holding his breath, waiting in anticipation for her answer.
“…they’re called the Dark Ones.” She finally said, looking at him with a steel to her eyes.
“The Dark Ones,” He repeated, mulling over the name. “That sounds familiar, I think that I saw some references to them in some of my arcane texts.”
“You probably have, they’re as old as the galaxy. They remnants of the first evil that threatened all life and existence.”
“And the monsters are trying to complete that goal?”
“No, the demons and cultists are trying to free them, or at least the surviving offspring, no matter the cost to the planet.”
“The planet?” There was a flip of his stomach as a horrid thought crossed his mind. “Pheena, where are they imprisoned?”
“…it seems you have figured it out already,” She said, in a tone barely above a whisper, “But to confirm your suspicion, they lay dormant in the cores of planets, and Shuggazoom is one of them.”
She turned away, her eyes directed at the floor but peering at something far below it. She left out a short, bitter laugh. “You know, I always felt that there was something within the planet. It felt like there was something just crawling under the surface, trying to burrow its essences into every part of the planet.” Her left hand still held Flora, but her right one was free to dig its nails into her left arm, as if trying to claw at a worm underneath her skin. “That’s why the Veron Mystics recruited me, because I can so easily sense them.”
He put his hand on hers, gently pulling it off from the arm and giving it a comforting squeeze. It broke whatever trance she was in, as she turned back to the Alchemist and took a deep breath. “That’s why the planet gets targeted so much, why Shuggazoom always had a protector in the past even before Goldie. They may not be actively seeking it, but its evil subconsciously calls to them and they respond. Normally, that’s no big deal, as freeing it isn’t their main objectively, but lately-”
“But lately there have been one’s going after it.”
She nodded. “The powers of the Dark Ones grows in their dimensions, and with it their influence in ours. Now they have dedicated followers that are trying to tip the balance of the universe in their favor by releasing the ones sealed in the cores.”
“But if the Veron Mystics recruited you because of them, then that must mean that have their own ways of dealing with it.”
“They do, and I’ve become quiet adapt at sealing their evil, but it’s just exhausting because of the size of their forces and areas we have to defend. Take Shuggazoom, where we have three main points of concern.”
He immediately knew the place. “The temple, the island, and the mining pit.”
She nodded. “Right, but we already were able to control most of it. The Arcane Island is supposed to be a portal to their home dimensions, but we reinforced it so that it is pretty much useless. Nothing can come out of it, and while they could get in, that’s only if they have some Power Primate to bypass the seals. Same thing with the temple, it’ll be years before they can work around my wards. The only one we’re having trouble with is the mining pit.” She frowned. “It’s not a means to summon or empower the Dark Ones, but a way towards the weak point of the prison.”
“And I take it you don’t know how fix that.” 
“The ruins on the island and the temple are relatively recent compared to how long the Dark Ones have been imprisoned. For now, all we can do is to try to manage the threats.”
There was a soft cooing sound, and Pheena looked down to where Flora was waking up in her arms. She let out a small yawn before bleary red eyes looked up to her and smiled.
Pheena returned the smile and gave the monkey an affection pat on the head, fingers running down to the pink ribbon tied around her. “I spend so much time sensing and reading the minds of those dedicated to evil and death, that it is such a relief to be here. Being with your monkeys, just being able to bask in their life and innocents, has been a bright spot in all this. It was especially wonderful tending to Sprout and watching her grow up.” She sighed, reluctantly pulling Flora away from her chest, despite the protesting cries the monkey made, and holding her out to him. “She can keep the ribbon, consider it my way of thanking her.”
It was only semantics that made Flora ‘his’, more out of convenience that he was already use to caring for young monkeys.
But it was Pheena who had found Flora among the wreckage left in the wake of the beast’s destruction, cradled by the bodies of her parents who had sacrificed their life to protect their young daughter. It was Pheena who had not let their sacrifice go to waste by bringing Flora to him, otherwise he didn’t think she would have let him or Clayton know she was even on the planet. And Pheena was the one who did most of the demanding one-on-one care Flora required, allowing him more time to see to the rest of the monkeys. He had doubted her chances of surviving, but she persevered, probably because of the extra attention Pheena gave her.
From the very first moment, from being the finder and the found, that was a bond put in place between Pheena and Flora. Pheena didn’t try to show such blatant favoritism, but it was clear once she tied her old pink ribbon around Flora, trying to justify it under the flimsy excuse of ‘being too cute.’
He really shouldn’t do this. Flora was entering a precarious stage of development. As she became more mobile, she would need social interaction with monkeys of her species. The socialization would be crucial to her development, teaching her certain behavioral cues and rules. Who knows how her temperament would turn out without it?
But he kept thinking of the uncensored joy and peace that Pheena always had with Flora, and his decision was made. “Do you want to take her back with you?”
Pheena looked like she was about to fall over. “What? Patches, are you serious?”
I am,” He nodded, pushing her hands and Flora back towards her. “You already showed that you can take care of her, since you’re basically her primary caretaker already. Flora’s going to still need more individual attention, and I have six other monkeys to take care of. You’ll be able to better give her the attention she needs, unless you don’t think you will?”
“No, no, I can!” She hugged Flora again, lighting up like a kid who was told they could get a puppy. “Most of my time on Karaladol is spent sensing for Dark Ones, meditating, studying, all that stuff that will leave me with plenty of time to care for her. And she is such a good girl that I’m sure the masters will be fine with her tagging along with me.” Pheena held Flora up, resting their foreheads together. “Even stuffy Master Zan wouldn’t be able to say no to such a cute face!”
Flora chirped in response, getting a genuine, happy laugh out of Pheena.
The Alchemist had to smile at the display. He could help Pheena this way, he thought as they went about packing up supplies for Flora and going over instructions just in case she fell sick again. 
But his mind was already working on another solution, recalling what he learned about other dimensions and interacting with them. He could make it so they could better monitor the Dark Ones, and if what Pheena said was true about the connection between them and the villains that threaten Shuggazoom, then this could even help Captain Shuggazoom as well in the long run.
In time, he was sure he could make it so that such evil would never be such a threat again.

“Okay, what’s going on?” Logan finally asks, hands on the steering wheel and eyes on the road but he’s too well attuned with his surroundings to not notice the giggling kids in the back seat.
“Heather and Darrell are playing cupid,” Veronica remarks, chewing on a piece of liquorice as she twists around in her seat to get a look at the giggling duo.
“Cupidress,” Heather corrects. “Or well you could just go ahead and call me Aphrodite, the goddess of love.”
Logan chuckles, brows perking up, amused, “Alright, Miss Goddess of Love, who are you aiming your arrows at?”
Veronica tilts her head and informs him, “Nope, Cupid’s the one with the bow and arrow," she points directionless at him with her liquorice as he drives. "Aphrodite has a magic girdle.”
His lips curves, remarking, “Chill out Athena, I was talking to Aphrodite here.”
Veronica rolls her eyes, munching away, trying to focus herself on the scenery outside instead of the boy next to her. “Sure, Poseidon, get back to your mixed up mythical references.”
“Sheesh, someone’s testy this morning.”
“Not all of us can sleep through the car ride like Wallace here," she jerks her thumb in the direction of the back seat where Wallace is leaning his head against the window, snoozing away until they reach the zoo. "And I didn't get enough sleep last night."
"Thoughts of me?" He quips, batting his lashes. "Hey, I get it. Sometimes I’m up all night, just thinkin’ about myself.”
She resists the urge to smack his shoulder since he's driving and settles for making him regret his unwanted snark. "Actually I was baking a chocolate cake for us to have for dessert but guess who just cost himself a slice?"
Logan groans, he wants to look at her with pleading eyes but he doesn't want to take his eyes off the road for too many seconds. "C'mon, Veronica, don't I get credit for driving us all there?"
"Nope, you wanted to drive," she mercilessly points out.
"Heather asked me to drive," he retaliates. "Who am I to deny the kid her wish?"
Veronica sneers at the reminder. "I drive perfectly fine, thank you very much and if she had a such a problem she could have rode with Dad and Mrs Fennel."
"No!" Heather objects, almost leaping out of her seat to defend her choices but thankfully has on her seatbelt holding her down. "The whole point is that Dad and Alicia can have some alone time!"
"Oh," Logan lets out, comprehending who her two victims of love were.
"And she said you drive like you're in a NASCAR game," Darrell points out and Heather objects with a loud hey for the treachery. He shrugs, "That's what you get for sticking me with the middle seat."
"Urg!" Veronica huffs. "That happened once! And I thought we were being followed by the E-String Strangler. And maybe you shouldn't get any cake either."
"Who wants a piece of the leaning tower of Pisa anyway?" Heather snarks. "Besides we want ice cream for dessert, not cake."
Veronica lets out a long psshhttt sound and grumbles, "It goes down your throat the same either way."

“We’re getting on the bus!” Keith eagerly says, map in hand, ready to go.
“Dad, no," Veronica whines, she's hungry and hot and wants to just sit and eat something - anything - before they start their journey from one end of the zoo to the other.
“It’s only half an hour Veronica. Half the zoo, half an hour," he emphasises like it's a bargain they can't possibly pass up on.
"I've got snacks," Alicia interjects and Veronica's eyes are drawn to the overly big beach bag that Alicia's carrying. "You can have some to tide you over until we can eat," she offers with a smile and Veronica eagerly accepts, looking at her best friend's mother like she's a savour sent from above.
"Sandwiches are life savers," Veronica hums happily, settling on the upper level of the double decker bus with Logan next to her. She admits, it is easier to take the bus but hunger takes precedence over everything else and Veronica's never been more grateful for Mrs Fennel.
Logan chuckles, nodding his head and stares at her adoringly. Yesterday while surfing he'd come to many revelations; one being that he's gonna show Veronica just how real they are. He's come to understand her a lot in their short time together and knows he can't lay out his feelings to her just yet.
She'd been firm in the fact that she doesn't want to date him and doesn't like him but he feels like that's changed - they've changed - in the sense that she does care about him, has fun with him, can be honest with him and maybe all these feelings were always there buried underneath the spells of her letter. And now he's opened the letter - broken the spell - he's seen her bared feelings and he wants to open her heart and see what's in there now.
She's been hurt, she has trust issues and she'd rather leave before she's left. She has all these pre-determined notions in her head and he's hoping he can deconstruct each one and in time she'll come to see him as he sees her.
So he's doing his best, showing her he likes her, showing her she can trust him and showing her that he's there - that he's going to be there. And he can see that she's doing the same even if she doesn't realize it yet.
“Ronica," Heather says, bright eyed as she turns from her seat in front of them. "Make sure to take out some good koala-ty pictures,” she giggles and nudges Darrell, who's looking excitedly at said Koalas and giggles along with her.
“Don’t worry, she’s got the koalafications,” Logan winks, instantly joining in before Veronica can make a snarky remark.
"And if she's underkoalafied, we just have to bear with it," Darrell outright laughs along with Heather, the two thoroughly enjoying themselves the moment they stepped out of their houses.
"So glad I could be of amoosement to you," Veronica remarks, straight-faced and seemingly exasperated. The kids giggle wildly and Logan chuckles, happy that she's not really upset and Veronica obligingly snaps shots of the Koalas hugging the trees and eating leaves.
"Guess what," Wallace leans forward in his seat, his head popping between Logan and Veronica, startling the couple.
"You've finally found where they're stashing the unicorns?" Veronica pipes, hope springing in her eyes.
"It's better than unicorns, Vee," he grins widely, suddenly full of energy unlike his earlier slumberly state.
"Damn, man," Logan chuckles. "You've got it bad."
"You would know," Wallace reproaches, nudging Logan with his shoulder from the back.
Logan peaks at Veronica and she shakes off his look. "Is this about Georgia?" She asks, brow arches, already knowing the answer.
He bobs his head. "She said she can meet me at the zoo. Isn't that great?"
"Ronica," Heather calls out once again. "Look," she says, pointing to an Orangutan swinging on the tree. "It's you!" She bursts out in giggles.
Veronica huffs. "Oh and look at that, you're right there next to me," she sticks out her tongue, unwilling to be defeated by her little sister.
"Who's the eleven year old, again?" Wallace chuckles, shaking his head.
"I'm eleven and a half," Heather points out, firm in the fact that she's not merely eleven anymore.
“Oh, hey, Heather, look it’s you,” Veronica smirks, gesturing to the Tasmanian Devil, a cheeky smug look on her face while Heather gasps.
“I happen to think it’s adorable,” Logan winks, earning Veronica a playfully triumph tongue out from Heather.

Heather obsesses over getting a picture with everything. And more so, she obsesses over getting Logan and Veronica to take coupley pictures together whenever she sees coupley things. Like if two animals are being cute together or if there's statues that seem romantic - not that there are many - except maybe for this one particular statue. It's a statue of a sailor, dipping a nurse and kissing her full on the mouth.
Veronica hasn't denied her sister much but this is one of the things she simply cannot do and Heather whines, "C'mon, Ronica, it'll be so romantic! I mean you dragged Logan to the zoo and you can't even give him one kiss?"
Veronica gaps at her little sister. "You dragged Logan to the zoo and I'm not gonna kiss Logan like that here with dad right there! I'm not insane."
Heather concedes the point but she's not happy with it. "Urg, fine, but I still want a picture of you two with the statue. I need proof to send Meg that you actually have a boyfriend."
Veronica sighs, she's been meaning to tell Meg about Logan's new role in her life and now that everyone but Meg knows, she really doesn't have much of a choice.
She's standing next to Logan, their fingers laced with a camera ready smile in front of the statue as Heather snaps a picture and shakes her head, asking them to try another pose.
It takes three more tries before Heather is satisfied with one where they're gazing into each others eyes.

She leaves them be and turns to her father, begging him to let her take one out with him and Alicia.
Keith chokes back a cough while Alicia chuckles, accepting the request. Veronica's just glad that Heather didn't demand they kiss in front of the statue like she'd done with her and Logan.

“I am a koalafied match-maker,” Heather brags, puffing out her chest and twirling around like the power of love has given her unreserved energy even though it's the end of the day and everyone else is exhausted.
“Oh, are you now?” Veronica arches her brow, she's holding Logan's hand and they're walking up a nearby park to set up a nice evening picnic. Alicia has prepared a variety of food and kept it in a warmer in the car along with a cooler filled with water and soda. They also have Veronica's homemade chocolate cake for dessert that Veronica's been coaxed into sharing with Logan. And Logan has somewhat been coaxed into getting ice cream for the two kids - three kids including Veronica.
"Mmmhmm," Heather hums, she's smiling wide, proud and again she's got that 'I know something you don't know' look on her face. "Just look at you and Logan.”
Veronica's hand tightens it's hold on Logan's. “Me and Logan?”
Heather notices the look on her sister's face and freezes, decidingly changing her mind from saying anything more because one, Veronica looks stricken and two, she doesn't know if Logan's supposed to know what she knows.
Veronica stares at her little sister, she's got a feeling that she needs to know what Heather knows so she lets go of Logan's hand and dashes after the now running girl. She feels an adrenaline rush hit her because it all makes sense if what she thinks is true, she just doesn't know why her sister would do that to her.
"Heather, get back here," she calls out, she's the star of the soccer team and she's beaten Heather many a times at racing so it's only a matter of time until she catches her.
Logan stays rooted in his spot, deep confusion spreading over his face as he watches the girls get further and further away, everyone else is setting up for their evening picnic and he wonders if he should leave them to it or catch up. The moment Veronica had tightened her grip on his hand, he'd felt the tension right to her fingertips.
Heather is hiding behind a tree, darting back and forth so Veronica can't grab her. "Okay, I was the one that sent out the letters," she admits, hoping her honesty gets her some mercy points with her sister.
“I’m gonna kill you, you little brat," Veronica lunges across and Heather darts away as quick as her small body allows.
“Oh, come on, Ronica, Logan’s the best thing that’s ever happened to you," Heather makes her plea. She can see the difference in sister's life; everyone in Veronica's life let her live in her comfort zone and Logan brought her out of it in a way that didn't seem all that uncomfortable and Heather figures that's a rare thing to have.
“Veronica," Logan calls out, jogging to the girls.
“You didn’t have to send out all five!" Veronica says as she thinks of how messed up everything has gotten with Duncan and how she's now keeping secrets from Meg.
Heather pouts, puppy eyes are out and her head tilts, just like she'd learned from Veronica and she slightly shrugs, “I thought five chances at a boyfriend were better odds.”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa,” Logan holds Veronica steady before she could once again dart to her sister and Heather quickly runs behind Logan. “What’s going on?”
“Veronica’s being totally irrational," Heather says, her adrenaline rush catching up to her.
“I’ll show you irrational," Veronica grunts, trying to move away from Logan but he wraps his arms around her and holds her tight against him with a soft but firm, hey - a hey that's reminding her that she's going attack mode on her eleven year old sister.
“She sent out the letters," she tells him, her anger slowly subsiding.
“Oh," he lets out a breath and loosens his hold on he see her face. "Well, you can forgive her since it worked out, right?” He gives her a pointed look.
“I just wanted you to be happy, Veronica," Heather softly admits.
Veronica sighs. “I wasn’t unhappy.”
“But you’re happier with Logan, right?” Heather peaks, still slightly behind Logan but now can visibly see her sister's facial reaction.
“Right," Veronica pats Heather's hair, softly, letting her know that she's forgiven. "But you owe me one."
Logan leans down to Heather when Veronica starts to to walk away, "Hey, kiddo, I owe you one," he winks and Heather brightens, all regret officially thrown out the window.
"You better not hurt her, Lo," Heather warns. "Especially not since you've got the Mars seal of approval."
He chuckles, rubs a hand over her head like Veronica had done. "I don't intend to," he softly says. "Thank you, Heather."
She bobs her head, smiles widely and drags him along to the picnic; she's glad she invited him.

Complicated Favor (Harry Potter x Reader)
            “Do I have too?” (Y/N) asked, as she scrubbed another dish.
           (Y/N) was in the kitchen washing the dishes, when her mother approached her about going out with her friend’s son. Her mother and Petunia Dursley were friends and they thought it would be a good idea if their children were to have a date. (Y/N) wasn’t exactly thrilled about it. She met Dudley once, a year ago, and he wasn’t her type. She loved her mother and would do what she asked, but not without trying to get out of it first.
           “I don’t even know him,” she said, rinsing off the dish.
           “Well,” her mother thought for a moment. “Petunia said he attends Smeltings Academy and that’s a very prestigious school.”
           “I suppose it is,” (Y/N) replied, using a towel to dry the dish.
           “Oh! I do remember her saying he was a boxing champion. That’s pretty impressive huh?” her mother said with enthusiasm.
           “I guess,” she said, placing the last dish in the cabinet.
           “So you’ll do it?” her mother asked hopeful.
           “Yeah I’ll do it,” she said with a small smile as her mother embraced her.
           “Thanks sweetie,” her mother said, giving her a peck on her head.
           Petunia hung up the phone and rushed over to Dudley, who was sitting on the dining table with his father, Vernon, and his cousin Harry.
           “Good news Popkins!” she happily said, placing her hand on him as he shoveled food into his mouth. “(Y/N) wants to go on a date with you!”
           He continued to eat not paying attention to his mother. His dad, Veron, on the other hand was pleased to hear this.
           “She’s a lucky girl to be with our Dudley,” Vernon bragged.
           Harry rolled his eyes at his uncle’s words, wondering what kind of girl would agree to go on a date with Dudley, certainly not one with good judgement.
           Dudley continued to eat without any response to his parents. Petunia tried once more to get his attention.
           “Popkins did you hear what I said?” she asked, moving the dessert dish closer to him knowing that it would get his attention.
           When he looked at the dish, she repeated her news. “(Y/N) wants to go on a date with you.”
           This time he heard his mother and he swallowed the chunk of food in his mouth so fast that he almost choked. His mother hysterically slapped his back several times.
           “My poor Duddy. Are you okay?” she asked, hugging him and giving him multiple kisses.
           “Give the boy some air,” his father suggested.
           Petunia fanned her hand in his face. Harry couldn’t believe Dudley’s reaction, but he figured that Dudley was in just as much shock as he was hearing that a girl wanted a date with him.
           “Did you say (Y/N)?” he asked, taking a deep breath and sinking into his chair.
           “Yes!” Petunia replied, with a big smile.
           He thought for a moment before speaking, as Petunia anxiously waited for a response. He regained his composure and straighten up in his chair.
           “I knew she couldn’t resist me,” he said, pulling the dessert plate towards him.
           “Of course she couldn’t,” his mother happily agreed.
           “When will this occasion take place?” Vernon asked Petunia.
           “She wants to come over tomorrow for lunch,” she replied, gathering the used plates.
           “Hear that Dudley. She’s eager to see you,” his father said proudly.
           “I want four desserts for lunch!” Dudley demanded from his mother.
           “Yes Duddy! Anything you want,” she replied, placing the dishes into the sink.
           “And you!” Vernon spewed, pointing to Harry. “Stay out of sight!”
           “Yes Uncle,” he replied, annoyed with his uncle’s demand. He already knew to stay out of sight when visitors came. He didn’t need to be reminded every time. It’s not like he wanted to be around the people they invited. Most of them were unpleasant just like the Dursley’s, from what he could hear in his room. He’d be in his room even if they didn’t order him too.
           After dinner Harry was forced to clean the house, alongside his aunt with him doing most of the work. They wanted it to be spotless when (Y/N) came over.
           (Y/N) lived a few blocks away from the Dursley’s, so she decided to walk to their house for the lunch date. She tried her best to stay positive, but it was hard not to think that it was going to be a miserable experience.
           She approached 4 Privet Drive and paused on the sidewalk before moving towards the door. She gave herself a quick once-over and smoothed down her hair. After a few light knocks on the door, she heard voices and footsteps.
           “Hello Mrs. Dursley,” she politely said as Petunia held the door open.
           “Good afternoon (Y/N). Come in dear,” she replied with a huge smile.
           (Y/N) followed Petunia into the sitting area where they were met by Vernon and Dudley.
           “Hello Mr. Dursley,” she politely said as she shook his hand.
           “Good afternoon,” he replied with a grin.
           When she looked at Dudley, his stance was stiff and his eyes were practically popping out of his head. She had grown more beautiful since the last time he had seen her.
           “Hello Dudley,” she held her hand out for him to shake.
           Petunia gently pressed Dudley on his back to snap him out of his trance.
           “He..Hello ni..nice to see you again,” his voice cracking on the last word.
           She wanted to giggle at him but politely smiled and shook his sweaty hand.
           “Well let’s move to the table. Everything is set,” Petunia happily guided them to the dining area.
           Vernon gestured for Dudley to pull out (Y/N)’s chair. He quickly got behind her and pulled it out before she sat down.
           “Thank you,” she said, a little surprised by his manners.
           Throughout the lunch it was mostly Petunia who talked to her. Vernon occasionally voiced his opinion, but Dudley had only spoken a few words. She could see that he was nervous and, here she thought, she was going to be the uncomfortable one. So for her mother, she made an effort to engage him in conversation.
           “There are so many delicious desserts,” she stated, glancing at the four that were placed in front of her and Dudley. “Which one do you recommend that I try Dudley?”
           He glanced at them for a moment then chose. “I think mum’s pudding.”
           “Good chose my boy!” Vernon piped.
           “It looks wonderful Mrs. Dursley,” she complimented. “Could you serve me some Dudley?”
           He happily took her dish and plopped a large portion onto it. She smiled at Dudley as he placed it in front of her.
           “Thank you,” she remarked, lightly touching his arm.
           This relaxed him finally and gave him a shot of courage. Because he picked up a big blob of pudding with her spoon and pushed it towards her mouth. She had to open her mouth quickly to keep him from hitting her teeth. But she took it in stride and gulped it all down without choking.
           “It’s delicious,” she said, wiping off the pudding that had hit her lips.
           “So glad you like it!” Petunia beamed.
           Vernon and Petunia finished their desserts and left the two of them alone. Dudley continuously talked as he ate a portion from each dessert. (Y/N) listened and pretended to be interested in what he was saying. She had finished her dessert long ago and was just waiting for him to finish so she could put an end to their “date.” He finally pushed his plate away and wiped his mouth.
           “Well this has been nice,” she said, pushing her chair away from the table.
           “Wait!” he said not wanting her to leave yet. “I’ve got new computer games we could play.”
           “Yes! That’s an excellent idea!” Petunia chimed in.
           “I would but my mother is expecting me home soon,” she lied.
           “I’ll call her and explain. I’m sure she wouldn’t mind,” Petunia suggested.
           “Alright,” (Y/N) said seeing no way out of it.
           “Good come on!” Dudley excitedly said, grabbing her hand and leading her up the stairs to his room.
           She was practically tripping over herself trying to keep up with him. Once they reached the top, he slowed down. As they walked down the small hallway, she heard a loud noise come from one of the rooms.
           “Did you hear that?” she asked, coming to a stop.
           “No,” he answered.
           “It came from behind this door,” she said, releasing his hand and stepping close to the door.
           “It’s nothing,” he replied, seeing her approach Harry’s bedroom door.
           She ignored him and could see that the door was cracked open. She knocked on the door, then waited for a response. Harry remained still, trying not to make any noise. But unfortunately for him, this was the moment Hedwig chose to stretch her wings and flap causing a vibration against the cage. Having heard the noise again and no response from her knock, she opened the door. She never imagined she’d see a boy standing next to a caged owl.
           “Sorry for disturbing you,” she said, entering the room. “But I heard a noise and no one answered when I knocked.”
           Harry couldn’t believe the sight that was before him. He never thought  someone that agreed to go on a date with Dudley would be so attractive. For a brief moment, he was envious of Dudley.
           “Not a problem,” he replied, with a smile.
           “Is that an owl?” she asked, walking up to the cage.
           “Yes,” he replied, looking over to Dudley who was standing at his doorway with a glare. He knew there was going to be trouble with the Dursley’s once she left the house. He had broken the rules about staying quiet, but right now he didn’t care. “Her name is Hedwig.”
           “That’s a nice name. What’s yours?” she asked as she stared into his eyes noticing their beautiful hue.
           “That’s not important. Let’s go to my room,” Dudley interrupted.
           “Dudley don’t be rude. Let him answer,” she said.
           “It’s Harry. Harry Potter,” he replied.
           “Are you two related?” she asked, wondering why none of the Dursley’s had mentioned him.
           He looked to Dudley and answered. “Yes, we’re cousins.”
           Hedwig flapped her wings again grabbing their attention.
           “Is she hungry?” she asked, moving her hand toward the cage.
           Harry immediately grabbed her wrist to stop her.
           “She likes to snap at fingers,” he said.
           “Oh sorry,” she replied, noticing that Harry was now holding her hand.
           “Wouldn’t want you to lose a finger,” he said, rubbing his thumb against her finger.
           “No I wouldn’t want that,” she giggled.
           Dudley cleared his throat to break up their discussion.
           Harry let go of her hand and smiled. She had almost forgotten that Dudley was even with them.
           “Dudley was going to show me his new computer games. Would you like to come with us?” she asked him.
           “No I’m fine here,” he answered, feeling the angry stare of Dudley on him.
           She looked around his room and noticed that there were only a few books and a trunk. There wasn’t much for him to do.
           “Come on. It’ll be fun. Right Dudley?” she asked with a smile.
           Dudley not wanting to say no to her, agreed.
           “Good. Lead the way,” she said happily.
           They entered Dudley’s room and she was overwhelmed by the massive amount of items he had in there. It was obvious that his parents gave him anything he wanted. It was quite the opposite of Harry’s room.
           Dudley and (Y/N) sat down at the desk in front of the computer, while Harry stood behind them. Dudley explained to her how to play one of the games then let her try. He sat very close to her almost covering the entire screen from Harry. Occasionally, he would look back at him angrily. He ignored Dudley’s threats and kept his concentration on (Y/N).
           “Let Harry play too,” she told Dudley, noticing that he was only allowing the two of them a turn.
           Dudley reluctantly rose from his seat and allowed Harry to sit. She watched him as he played. She could see his face light up every time he passed another level. She thought he looked so cute.
           The three of them continued to play for some time. She looked at her watch and noticed how long she had been there.
           “I think it’s time for me to head home,” she announced, rising from the chair.
           “I’ll walk you to the door,” Dudley said.
           Harry tried to follow them down the stairs but Dudley pushed him back when (Y/N) wasn’t looking. When they reached the door, she said goodbye to all the Dursley’s who kindly invited her to come back whenever she wanted. She wanted to say goodbye to Harry but he was nowhere to be found. She figured he must have not enjoyed her company as much as she did his.
           As she walked down the block, to her surprise she saw Harry standing at the end of it.
           “What are you doing out here?” she asked him.
           “I was waiting for you. Thought I’d walk you home,” he said with a grin.
           “I’d like that,” she said, smiling back at him.
           They walked slowly beside each other as the sun started to set.
           “How come you didn’t say goodbye with the rest of the family?”
           “I wanted to surprise you,” he answered, not telling her the whole truth.
           He didn’t want to explain how he wasn’t even supposed to come out of his room or make any noise. They just met and he didn’t think it was the time to be explaining his horrible situation with the Dursley’s.
           “I thought you didn’t like me and that’s why you didn’t say goodbye,” she replied.
           “No definitely not. I like you,” he replied a little more excited than he meant too.
           She giggled at his response then said “Good.”
           They reached her house and Harry walked her to the door.
           “Thank you for walking me home,” she said.
           “My pleasure,” he confessed.
           They stood in silence for a moment. Harry gazed at her beautiful features wondering once again how Dudley could manage to get her to come on a lunch date.
           “Can I ask you something?” he asked, breaking the silence.
           She knew what he was going to ask. It was obviously about her and Dudley. Anyone besides their mothers would wonder.
           “Why would I agree to a lunch date with Dudley?” she answered.
           “If you don’t want to tell me its fine,” he responded, not wanting to make her uncomfortable.
           “No I’ll tell you. Tomorrow,” she responded with a smirk.
           “Tomorrow?” he asked confused.
           “Yeah, if you want to know the answer come over tomorrow.”
           “Okay I’ll be here,” he responded with an elated smile.
           “Goodbye Harry Potter,” was the last thing she said before going inside.
           Harry left her house thinking that he never could have predicted that Dudley’s date would turn out so well for him.
           The next day (Y/N) waited for Harry. In fact, she waited all day. She didn’t understand why he hadn’t shown. She figured he had changed his mind about her.
           Harry paced back and forth in his room. As he had suspected, his Aunt and Uncle were waiting for him when he returned from walking (Y/N) home. They locked him in his room and ordered him to stay in there, until further notice. Without any way to make contact with her, it would look as if he had skipped out on her.  Unable to use his magic to escape, because the Ministry would get involved he would have to wait until his punishment was over and explain the situation.
           Dudley called (Y/N) every morning for the next few days to invite her to one place after another. She was only able to make excuses twice before having to give in. Petunia became involved and talked to her mother about the two of them spending more time together. So once again upon her mother’s request she went out with him.
           He picked her up in his parent’s car and to her surprise once again, opened the car door for her. When they arrived at the pizza parlor, he ran around the car and opened the door. It didn’t stop there either. He held the door open when they entered and pulled out her chair as well. He was really making an effort to display manners with her. He ordered a large pizza, which she thought was too much for the two of them.
           “Dudley don’t order a large. I’m not that hungry,” she said after the waitress walked away.
           “I have to. Coach says I need to bulk up before my next match,” he replied, punching the air as if there was an invisible opponent. “You can come and watch me win.”
           “You’re pretty confident,” she remarked.
           “I’ve beaten him before and I’ll do it again,” he boasted. “I’ll save you a seat right next to the ring.”
           “I don’t think---“
           “Afterwards Mum and Dad will take us out to celebrate,” he interrupted.
           “Well I’ll have to ask my mother. It is the summer and she may have already made plans for something,” she replied, hoping to find a way out of going.
           The waitress arrived with the pizza and he continued boasting about opponents he had beaten. By the end of the meal, she heard everything about his boxing career. Not once did he bother to ask her anything about herself.
           “You know it’s not very polite to talk about yourself the whole time,” she remarked, having had enough of his selfish behavior.
           He hung his head and looked down at his plate. “I didn’t realize that I had been talking about myself and not including you. I was just excited to tell you about boxing because I like it so much,” he said in an apologetic tone.
           That was not the reaction she had expected and now she felt bad for scolding him.
           “I understand. Don’t worry about it,” she said, patting his hand.
           He ordered dessert for them and they talked about her interests until they were done. He opened the car door for her and kept her talking about herself the whole ride home. He was genuinely trying to makeup for his earlier behavior and (Y/N) noticed.
           He parked in front of her house and once again ran around to open her door.
           “Thank you,” she said.
           Dudley closed the door behind her and walked her to the front door.
           “I liked eating pizza with you,” he stated. “Maybe we could do it again?”
           “We’ll see,” she answered.
           He said goodbye and drove off.
           She entered the house and sat on the other end of the couch where her mother was currently relaxing with a book.
           “How was your date?” her mother asked.
           “It was fine.”
           “Just fine?” her mother asked, closing her book.
           “Yeah.”
           “What do you think of Dudley?”
           “He’s confusing,” she replied.
           “How so?”
           “Well one minute he’s completely self-absorbed but then the next he’s so attentive,” she answered. “I don’t know what to think.”
           “Sounds like he’s trying,” her mother encouraged.
           “I guess he is,” she remarked.
           “A boy came by today looking for you.”
           “Who?”
           “I believe he said his name was Harry. He said he’d come back later,” her mother answered.
           “Is that all he said?” she inquired.
           “Yes,” she replied.
           (Y/N) felt strangely happy hearing that he had come to see her, but also wondered why it took him so long to do so. She went to her room and changed her outfit and fixed her hair.
           It was getting late and she had just about given up on him when the doorbell rang.
           “I’ll get it!” she yelled to her mother.
           She fixed her outfit and smoothed down her hair before opening the door. She stepped out and closed the door behind her.
           “Well look who finally decided to show up,” she remarked, leaning against the door frame with her arms crossed.
           “I know it was longer than I intended and I’m sorry,” he apologized.
           She could see that he meant it and he did look particularly cute at the moment, so she decided to forgive him. She grabbed his hand and lead him to the small bench on the porch. There they continued to talk. Learning more about one another.
The sun set and the stars came out. The porch light turned on snapping them out of their conversation.
           “I guess it’s getting late,” Harry announced, realizing for the first time that he was holding (Y/N)’s hand.
           “I suppose it is,” she replied.
           Harry rubbed his thumb gently against her hand making her smile. He leaned in slowly and placed a soft kiss upon her lips. To his delight, she returned the gesture.
           Their lips parted and Harry stood, pulling (Y/N) along with him.
           “Would you like to meet at the park tomorrow?” Harry asked.
           “Yes,” she replied, her cheeks still flushed from their kiss.
           “Around lunch time?” he asked.
           “I’ll be there.”
           Harry waved goodbye as he walked down the street. Excited for the next day.
           The next day he sneakily gathered things into his bag for his date with (Y/N). He heard his Uncle’s car pull into the driveway and hurriedly zipped his bag and headed out the back door.
           At the park, he placed a small blanket on the ground underneath a shady tree and waited for (Y/N). He heard someone approaching from behind the tree, but to his dismay it was not who he was expecting.
           “What are you doing here?” Dudley asked with attitude. He looked at the picnic set up displayed. “Having lunch with your imaginary friend?” he scoffed.
           “No just go away Dudley,” he commanded.
           “Make me!” Dudley angrily replied kicking dirt onto the blanket and Harry.
           Harry jumped up ready to pull out his wand but spotted (Y/N) at a distance.
           Dudley grabbed Harry by the shirt and balled his fist. Harry braced for the impact. Just as Dudley’s fist came into contact with his jaw, he heard (Y/N) cry out for Dudley to stop.
           “What are you doing?!” she yelled at Dudley as she pushed him away from Harry.
           Shocked that she had seen what he had just done, he stuttered to find words to explain his actions.
           “Are you okay?” she asked Harry examining his face.
           “Yeah I’m okay,” he replied moving his jaw slowly in a circular motion.
           “Were you coming to meet him?!” Dudley asked heatedly.
           “Yes!” she replied.
           “But you’re my girlfriend!”
          “I’m not your girlfriend!” she replied. “And even if there was a tiny chance that we could be friends, there is none now. I couldn’t be friends with someone who goes around hitting people for no reason!”
          “Could you be friends with a..a…?” Dudley pointed at Harry wanting to tell her he was a wizard.
          Harry gave him a stern look.
          “A what?” she asked.
          Dudley stared back at Harry furious knowing he couldn’t tell his secret.
          “I think you should leave Dudley!” Harry demanded.
          “I agree,” (Y/N) replied.
          Dudley growled before stomping off.
          “Are you sure you’re alright?” she asked Harry again. A bruise began to show on his jaw.
          “Let’s go back to my house and put some ice on it,” she suggested. Harry nodded.
          They gathered up the picnic supplies. Once there Harry set up the picnic in the yard as she went inside to grab the ice. While inside, she explained to her mother what happened and that she didn’t want to spend anymore time with Dudley. Her mother understood. (Y/N) was concerned that this would cause a rift in her mother’s friendship with Mrs. Dursley but he mother assured her that she could smooth things over with Petunia. She gave her mother a hug and returned to Harry.
          They finished their meal and laid side by side holding hands.
          “(Y/N) would you be my girlfriend?” Harry asked nervously.
          She snapped her head to face him and happily replied, “Yes.”
          Harry eventually told her that he was a wizard and she wasn’t surprised. Turns out that wizards run in her family too.
