Sukuna calls a shy concubine for the first time. She's nervous, but upon entering his chambers, a book about astronomy catches her eye (since he has many books and scrolls). He notices her interest and is intrigued, perhaps because his concubines are raised to have no interests other than pleasing Sukuna

The first time Sukuna called you to his chambers should have excited you beyond belief, but instead, it made you incredibly nervous. 

You were adorned in your best Kimono, perfectly painted makeup, and hair styled to accentuate your alluring features. You felt beautiful, and you knew you looked the part. Hours had been spent on your appearance the second your servant caught wind of Sukuna’s request. 

And now that you were standing at his door, your heart was pounding. You knew your purpose; you knew your place. But what if you failed to please your master? Instinctively, you shied away from his advances, opting to serve him in other ways. Surprisingly, there were many tasks and chores to complete daily as a concubine, which you weren’t aware of before Sukuna selected you among the other noble women from your faction. 

This was the first time you would be utterly alone with the King of Curses, and it made your stomach twist into knots. 

“You requested me, Sukuna-Sama?” you squeaked, already blushing from the intensity of his gaze. 

A long silence stretched between you, but all he did was stare, taking in all you had to offer. 

“I realized I still have yet to spend a night alone with you, “ he finally replied. 

Sukuna loathed the meek. You seemed to be the only woman he bothered to tolerate, and he didn’t know why. If anything, it just made you cute because he knew you weren’t dumb. You followed your orders, you served him with grace, and the way you danced was unlike the rest. On the stage, you were a completely different woman. 

But off the stage, you were as shy as they came. 

His eyes were ravenous as he watched you approach his bookshelf. Despite his own desires and your intended purpose, something about you intrigued him—notably, that curious glint in your eyes with the desperation to discover more. 

“I was not aware you kept so many records." Your voice was almost a whisper, partly out of respect and awe.

“Taken from my conquests.” 

“As expected,” you replied somewhat meekly, eyes drifting back to the wall of books and scrolls. One in particular caught your eyes, the binding resembling a constellation you were familiar with. 

Hesitantly, you glanced at him, waiting for permission to tug the book from its rightful place amongst the rest. 

Sukuna nodded, sighing deeply before leaning back into the corner of his room, legs, and arms crossed as he watched you explore. 

The intended cushion for you still remained empty. You could feel it, and Sukuna's bloodlust calling for you to at least join him. With the book in your hand, flipping the first page, you gave in and sat across from him, knees perfectly tucked in like you were taught from a young age. 

The book lay halfway open on the floor between the two of you. And finally, you gained the courage to meet his eyes, pleading for permission. 

“Astrology?” The King of Curses bemused, reaching for a sip of his sake. If that’s what you wanted, he would grant it. There was no harm in having his concubines be somewhat knowledgable about something, despite what other kings and lords agreed, despite what they claimed about him. 

There was a reason why he had so many women flocking to him despite his appearance and dominance. They actually enjoyed his protection and offerings. It was the best place in the country for a curious woman like you to explore and indulge. As long as you excited him, of course. But, he enjoyed the variety, and you undoubtedly provided him with that. 

“Can you read?” he asked from your silence and timid glances. You were so incredibly meek it astonished him, so much so he couldn’t tell if you were waiting for permission or for him to explain the words to you. 

“Yes, my Lord.” You bowed your head slightly, managing to peek at him through your eyelashes. 

“Finish it,” he paused as if he couldn’t believe the words coming out of his mouth. “And it’s yours.” 

There was no way to stop the way your mouth dropped open. The surprise was evident in how your eyes widened, your loss for words, and the sudden bashfulness that etched into your expression. 

“Do wish for my body in exchan—”

“No,” Sukuna interrupted, exhaling as if he anticipated your question. “Despite any rumors you may have heard, I’m not fond of forcing a woman to be with me.” 

You could not hide your astonishment. It was like you could feel your timidity fading away into the nighttime breeze that wafted through the door to his private garden. 

“It bores me," he sighed. “If you’re not ready, that is fine.” 

“My Lord,” you rushed, the honorific rolling off your tongue with a hint of approval and submission you didn’t expect to find tonight. The surprise of it all made you lose your train of thought and all your responses to it. 

“Out with it,” he rolled his eyes. 

You chose your words carefully this time, unable to look at him until after your sentence was finished. “Are you claiming that aquiring knowledge is more important than sex?” 

“I never said that,” he replied quickly but smirked. “If you wish, you can visit me to read instead, until you are ready for more.” 

Sukuna didn’t need to dominate his concubines every single night. A companion would be appreciated for the days he wished for peace and quiet—which was rare but still happened occasionally. The way you danced was enough to entertain him. And there were plenty of other women who could satiate his hunger differently. 

For your own comfort, along with his amusement, he felt an introductory offer was needed. Of course, he wanted you; he wanted everything about you and your submission. But what Sukuna learned over the years was very important—it wasn’t just about his pleasure. He could easily kill you, and he knew it, but the human part of him also wanted you to crave him in the same way. 

And if that took granting you access to his literature, so be it.

Biting your lip, you reached for the sake bottle and filled his empty glass as a thank you. You were there to serve him, and it was comical how miserably you failed to provide him the requested service. But there was no use in denying how excited you were. The last thing you expected was this. It wasn’t just permission he gave you; it was respect. Even in its slightest form, it was enough. 

“Once you learn about the stars, you must teach them to me.” 

Once he took his first satisfactory sip, you replied, “Do you not know the stars, Sukuna-Sama?” 

His boisterous chuckle surprised you and made you flinch in surprise. You couldn’t recall a moment where he had ever laughed, let alone smirk devilishly so. But perhaps he reserved this side of him for late-night discussions. The thought of him teasing you hardly mattered; what mattered was that he was listening to you. 

“Of course I do, concubine.” Sukuna took another sip. “But I wouldn’t mind testing you for my enjoyment.” 

“That only makes me want to study more.” 

“Good. For every question you get wrong, I get to claim a piece of you.” 

The most vigorous flush of emotions you’d ever felt rushed through you, appearing on your cheeks despite how your face was painted with makeup. Any attempt to mask was futile. It may be beneficial to just be yourself, as he already seemed tolerant enough. 

“I would appreciate that.” 

Sukuna laughed again, watching as your body relaxed. Shifting your legs to emerge from your Kimono and onto your side, you flipped back to the first page, scanning over the first page of documentation. It was exhilarating, and you didn’t want to stop. 

Sukuna’s hands reached out, guiding yours to the first page of information, scribbles, and many mystifying illustrations. “Start here, woman.” 

“My apologies.” 

Rolling his eyes once again, Sukuna took another swing of his liquor and leaned back to a more comfortable position. “Eventually, you will let me have you,” he started, relishing in the sake burning down his throat. Undoubtedly, he would need bottles of it to keep his hands off of you. “You’re too interesting to waste.” 

“That was never out of the question, my Lord.” 

Appreciative of your constant honorifics, he nodded at you. “Now, sit there and read to me. I’m too tired for anything else.”  

And that was what you did until he moved to rest his head in your lap, eyes finally closing in response to your lullaby, the softness of your voice beckoning him to tranquility. Eventually, uneven breaths filled your ears, and his head slacked entierly against you.

Technically, you were trapped under his weight but didn't mind. Not when he was this peaceful, this handsome. And when your curiosity got the best of you, he only sighed in admission to the faint touch of your fingers tracing over his facial tattoos.

You know just before something bad happens, and that split second before it happens you feel intense regret. Yea that’s happening right now.

You turn towards the male voice and see none other than Phinks, Feitan and Shalnark. You now regret running out of miss Biskys house like that.

Phinks had shouted your name so loud it made you straighten up and forget about your sadness. Regret overtook your body instantly, RUN was all you could think.

So you started running, “wait!” Bialy said running after you “I can help you!” She says still running after you.

“BISKY PLEASE STOP CHASING ME THEY WILL KILL YOU” You said desperately. Bisky looked behind and say the 3 men catching up to y’all at record time.

“I’ll help you I PROMISE” she said diverging left, jumping up onto buildings. They didn’t chase after, because of her form they didn’t think she was a threat.

Suddenly you were tackled to the ground by Feitan. You fell with a thump, “GET OFF OF ME” you said now panicking. Feitan held on to you not letting you run away again.

Suddenly you were pulled away from Feitan, you zoomed up into the air. “AHHHHHHH” you screamed scared.

Why were you suddenly in the air? Well let’s all thank Hisoka.(THATS RIGHT IM WRITING HIM BACK INTO THE STORY)

“WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON!?” You said now in Hisokas grip.

He raced off with you bridal style in his arms. Hisoka looked down at you and smiled one of his terrifying smiles.

Hisoka had run with such sped that you had gotten whiplash. You thought about struggling but him dropping you at the speed he was going is basically the equivalent of barrel rolling out of a car.

Y’all had outrun the phantom troupe, Hisoka stopped at the back door of a bar placing you down softly. The security guard tried to stop ya from entering but he got a card to the throat.

Y’all had entered the bar gaining strange looks, y’all sat down and you unloaded everything you had when waiting to ask him. Why had he taken you from his own group, why were yall at a bar, where were the boys.

Hisoka explained everything, he had double crossed them, the boys had escaped and he still didn’t answer your question about the bar.

It was a lot to take in all at once, but suddenly a question popped into your head. “How did the troupe know where I was?” You blurred out suddenly.

Hisoka smiled a sick smile “well that’s quite simple” he answered in his signature smooth voice. “The troupe was always cautious with the things they loved” you shuddered at his words. You wouldn’t call what they put you through to be love.

“They put a tracker in your arm” Hisoka said like that was normal. You stoped breathing for a second, a tracker? You thought, once again you were speechless.

Hisoka grabbed you arm pointing at where it was. “W-what” you said in a painfully sad voice.

“While you were sleeping, that’s how I found you after leaving a happened upon one of the tracking devices they used to follow you” he said holding it up.

In a daze you lifted up your arm and used your nails to try and dig it out of your arm. You scratched through your arm, blood dripping down your arm. You had dug it out of your arm and threw the blinking sphere on the table.

You arm started shaking, your adrenaline wore off and it started to hurt but you didn’t care.

Hisoka smiled once again, you were intriguing. But he didn’t want to fight you, it was strange he saw you as somewhat family. The only reason you weren’t cooped up in some apartment was because Hisoka was to sure he could protect you.

He stood up signally y’all where leaving he took the tracker and as y’all left slipped it into a waiters pocket. People have you strange looks as y’all left, understandable I mean you are still bleeding out.

You grabbed napkins and trued your best to dab the blood. As y’all started walking you started zoning out. You mind began to wonder, you knew about his nen ability bungee gum that’s how he grabbed you, but what if it was still attached to you?

You use gyo on your eyes and sure enough it still was. He knew you were gonna run like you always did. But you knew that you could play to your strengths, feeding into their delusions until he let his guard down then you run.

That was your plan with everything because it worked so well. You needed to find Bisky and get this curse off you.

Hisoka suddenly stopped he looked around before grabbing your hand and walking towards the right. He leaned against some ally wall while holding your hand.

Suddenly someone appeared, he had the palest skin you had ever seen you would think he was sick if he wasn’t to built. He had long black hair and a weird crop top get u, but who were you to judge his fashion.

He looked at you before looking at Hisoka in a questioning way. “This is [reader] their staying with me” Hisoka said as if he hadn’t ran away from the phantom troupe with you.

Y’all started walking with the weird man, he spoke rarely but he said enough if that made sense. You gathered from his limited words that he was an assassin and he needed help with a job.

You felt something strange with him, you started tuning out their talking focused on the assassin. You closed your eyes and focused, you could hear his heartbeat it was playing a melody of death. The more you focused the more you realized how much death surrounds his overall aura.

He scared you, kinda like how Feitan did but differently. He was lean and towered over you it was intimidating.

After walking for awhile Hisoka told you to stay with the man you now know as Illumi. He turns to leave.

“Wait what? Where are you going?!” You shouted as he walked away. “He’s gonna babysit you for a little bit.” Hisoka said with a smile.

When you knew he was out of earshot “fuck you” you said lifting your middle finger towards Hisoka. You stuck your tongue out but quickly put it back in when you remembered Illumi was right there.

Y’all started walking again, it was awkward and illumi was too menacing to talk to.

You thought about everyone you met in the past months, Hisoka, Bisky, and mito were the less obsessed. Despite Hisokas weirdness it felt like a breath of fresh air talking to them you felt almost free.

You suddenly spoke up “Hey man look I know you don’t want to watch me and I don’t want to be watched, how bout you let me go and I just leave? How does that sound?” You said hopefully.

He simply gave you a look, grabbed your arm and pulled you closer as you looked like you were about to book it and he didn’t want to chase after you.

You shaked around in an almost playful manor. He gave you the run down you where joining him on his mission, while Hisoka went to the auction.

Here you were in some underground club, “stay here” Illumi said coldly before leaving to find his target, it was some rich male loser.

You saw his picture he looked like a loser, that’s what you thought at least. Suddenly you spotted the rich loser and by some chance he planted himself right next to you.

“Hey sweet cheeks~” he said in a voice that made you think he was a discord moderator.

He put his hand on your back and started rubbing your back. “Oh fuck me” you said under your breath.

He tried and failed to flirt with you, “I’m actually a minor” you said coldly “age is just a number” he said leaning in.

You decided you were tired of waiting for Illumi and decided to take care of this yourself.

You lead the perv to some back room, saying you were curious about body stuff. You held back the puke as you spoke.

He closed and locked the door, you activated your nen into some random nail you picked up of the ground, held it between you fingered and shot it at him. It hit him right in his forehead, he fell with a thump.

It was an interesting night you and Illumi talked more. He surprisingly wasn’t mad you snagged his target. Yall talked about his job as an assassin, and you talked about how gay it was that the phantom troupe kidnapped you.

You felt comfortable telling him about you being kidnapped you didn’t know why.

As time passed and you talked, you felt tired and fell asleep completely forgetting about your nen curse the very thing that got you into your situation.

You woke to Illumi staring at you, y’all were in some shitty motel. Y’all left going god knows where, you tried asking but he didn’t answer.

After several trains yall arrived at the infamous Zoldyck manor. You knew after last night Illumi was a Zoldyck like Killua, you avoided mentioning you knew his brother that but for some reason you think he knows already.

Y’all stopped at the testing gate, he stepped back, “open it” he said blankly.

“What? Are you kidding I can’t open that?!” He didn’t seem to talk no for an answer and he would let you leave so you had no choice but to try.

The gate stoped but you didn’t you fired more nen charged nail into the gate and with each nail it moved until it was open.

You later on the ground sighing in relief, that took a lot out of you.

Illumi pulled you up and dragged you inside before the gate closed again.

He practically dragged you up the hill to the giant mansion , after catching your breath you questioned him. “Why are we here?” You said tiredly.

He didn’t say anything, you passed a girl that guarded the way. She gave you a confused look you returned the look.

Suddenly a women with the puffiest dress imaginable showed up and started asking an insane amount of questions all at once to illuminate mostly about you.

After she settled down she grabbed you inspecting you closely. She pulled you inside, suddenly you wished you were back with Illumi. You all sat down on the many couches, with some old man named Zeno.

Illumi explained that you opened the testing gate, he talked bout your abilities saying you were capable. It would be nice if his mom wasn’t all over you it was suffocating.

Y he started talking about you staying here for a little bit. Suddenly dread washed over you, here we go again.

so energy bending isn’t connected to any bending style and could theoretically be preformed by anyone, but (i think) if you initiate you are opening yourself up to corruption, and need a very strong energy/will/ etc to be the one in control of the energy transfer, making it work best for the avatar, plus their connection to bending in general.

bloodbending isn’t energy bending because it’s literally bending the water in someone’s body, you’re right it is connected to the full moon, yakone (noatak and tarrlok’s father) is noted as being particularly dangerous because he is genetically predisposed for bloodbending, making it easier for him to learn it and eventually perfect it to use outside of the full moon, but otherwise even a powerful water bender could only use bloodbending on the full moon

i agree with the water overpowered thing but i actually think this is a korra problem, spirit purification is ridiculous and not connected at all to water bending as an element, all the other stuff is just actual water being used in creative ways, not different styles. the only bending style without temperature control is earthbending and even that is debatable with the addition of lava bending.

lighting bending is a similar concept just the honing of a particular aspect of the already existing element, lighting, in this context, is the plasma created in the air by intense pressure and electricity, this is actually something we can achieve in real life (look up an electric lighter)

it does however make more sense as something special, like bloodbending, only achievable by powerful bending and lots of practice. in avatar only the royal family is ever seen lighting bending and other characters treat it with appropriate shock and respect. in korra it is just something anyone can do, makko has it as a 9-5 man. i personally don’t think this was the right choice but that’s just me.

but yeah it can be confusing but all bendings are about energy, think about the episode with bumi about gins: water is mainly push and pull between positive and negative, fire is mostly positive (attacking), air is mostly negative (retreating) and earth is neutral (waiting for your time to strike)

i feel like the addition of “energy bending” makes this more confusing, but they never call it that in the show if i remember correctly, that’s just what fans call it.

as a fan who watched older gmm a lot i have to say if i just saw a picture of link i wouldnt think he was attractive. but watching the videos endeared him to me SO MUCH that i started to see the attractive side?? i mean when you get over/used to the weird look you start noticing the pretty face in movement lol. but more than that he got me hooked immedietly first couple of videos i was barely paying attention to rhett unless he was doing something outrageously funny/weird etc. (this is kinda the only reason why i can remember my reaction to one of my first gmm videos i watched ''Taking a Dust Bath - Experiment'' and how i became a more dedicated fan. i kept thinking why am i so fond of this dork on the right?? tbh at some point he removes the big fugly(imo) glasses and his hair gets messy but his attitude is still what makes the ''it'' factor lol) also the bangs looked good sometimes when he let them get a little shagy/messy/fluffy (what it is supposed to look like tbh) especially even earlier times like "the mythical show" and on the great american road trip etc. he also had the smalled office style glasses which complemented that corporate/IT emo-adjacent look of 2000s better imo. its just as he got older he started to put too much gel or whatever which made the hairstyle unusually stiff/shiny (i used to call it the lego affect) and that paired with the big square dorky glasses it was an off-putting combo to say the least. buut i was still so endeared by all of him it didnt bother me much at the time? like i would watch it and still be into his vibe. he just has some kind of attitude that is magnetic and "cute" at the same which somehow doesnt get fake/over the top? idk im still fond of shagy hair but it definitely ran its course way before it was gone. what i personally truly hated was the shaved sides with the intense and stiff high quif even worse when he was dying it poorly to coal black which absorbed all the life and moevement out of it..that was my true nemesis. the close shaved sides/fade is such a basic fuck boy cut i cant believe people used to want link to go back to that

halfway through reading this I did understand the appeal of his old cut haha so congrats on painting such a good picture. I did hate the shaved sides too, think we can both agree that no matter how he styles it his hair is the best when there's more of it. but in the end no matter what he looks like his personality is what shines through. I don't think I'd be so drawn to him if he wasn't in this era though, just because his current look is sooo appealing to me rn, but at this point I'm already hooked so... he's just extremely charismatic, and i kinda love how he's such a - you either love him or hate him - kinda person. what you see is what you get.

its a gacha game and thus inherently predatory. esp when its marketed towards kids.

very little diversity. you can tell skin color was a second thought to the developers. there’s only four skin tones and when you press clear, the skin tone clears as well. there’s no way to set a default skin tone. a lot of the lip sticks look oversaturated on the darker skin tones. they did not care enough to adjust it and thats horrible.

i know we’re playing as nikki but i Would like at least some body diversity w her.

we need a clear resources button dear god.

i want an option to only send/receive snapshots from friends. let me take photos w my friends :(

option to send photos to our friends in chat!! and emotes!!!!!!! photo taking is half the game man.

things i like:

genuinely beautiful game visually stunninggg. the fact that there are no quest locked areas and we can head into photo mode basically anywhere is sooo sooo cool to me.

photo mode is also beautiful and allows the players to have so much creative freedom. like they know what we want. we can pose our nikki and pause her mid animation, we can put lighting on her in different colors, she has different poses depending on circumstances (ex: sitting at a particular area, interacting w an item), we have focal length, adjustable aperture, the npc’s pose with you etc etc. its sooo sooo cool and interactive. and i love that the lighting and filters have intensity adjustments.

the details on the clothes and scenery are sooooo beautifully done. everything is gorgeous i want to stop and take a million photos all the time.

Hey man, wasn’t trying to be patronizing, just wanted to add a little bit of context for my followers (I have like 20 of them) who have not heard of Mishima and who wouldn’t be inclined to go googling. I can see how such a surface-level screenshot might have been grating to someone who’s neck-deep in Japanese politics, and for that I am sorry. About equating beauty, eroticism, and death though, this is a conclusion I reached while researching Nazi aesthetics; I wasn’t trying to derail the conversation, even if I had that ability. You mention wondering if Catholicism counted, and while I don’t know enough about it to say (not a historian), I do notice that many, many fundamentalist Catholics today are proud fascists. I am not married to this hypothesis, but it did come about through my own critical thinking so I’d be interested to know if you have a more detailed beef with it (if you’ve got the time/inclination to argue with me about art theory, just tell me to piss off if not).

in general i think any claim that any type of imagery in art is inherently fascist (that isn't like, an explicit Fascist Agenda) is flawed and weirdly anti-art. eroticism/beauty/death is kind of one of the most classic combinations of themes which you can find throughout history and across the world, just because eroticism and beauty and death are like basically the most intense emotional concepts that can be represented in art. yeah catholic depictions of martyrdom come to mind bc they go crazy but like truly i would challenge you to find any "the death of ___" art from any era that doesnt invoke beauty and eroticism in some way depending on whos looking at it. like i dont know what kind of blogs you follow but all the talk of artistic/erotic cannibalism thats been popular on tumblr is an example of eroticism/beauty/death. idk its just everywhere and your thesis sounds like something that can be selectively/subjectively applied to call art you dont like fascist

RAY hewwo i am. Planning on getting a tattoo (not now obviously but like when im in uni probably) what’s ur advice on Getting Stabbed with Ink

okay so like. first of all do your research!! if you already have a particular style in mind, find an artist who does a lot of that. look at their portfolio on instagram. see if they post healed tattoos too (if they Don't. well ask yourself why not!)

before your appointment EAT A GOOD MEAL. DRINK WOTER. tattoo artists do not enjoy when you pass out!!!! getting a tattoo is super upsetting to The Body because it's basically inflicting an injury, it fucks with your circulation a lot. tattoo artists will also offer you something to drink and sometimes even sweets to keep your blood sugar up during the appointment, and for the first time I would recommend taking them up on that because you don't know yet how your body will react.

also don't be afraid to ask for a break for any reason. a good artist will tell you this before they start too.

you will bleed btw. some artists have told me that first time clients are sometimes surprised about this. the bleeding will increase the farther you get into the tattoo too as your body becomes more pissed lol.

as they go, they'll wipe your tattoo down A Lot to get the excess ink and blood out of the way, and that shit really starts to hurt after some time! be prepared!

when the deed is done, they'll usually let the tattoo rest for a few minutes and then take some pics. and then they'll wrap it up!

now there's two (three?) options here. either they'll go old school and just wrap that thang in cling wrap and tape it in place, which is a lot of work for you, or they'll slap on second skin.

the cling wrap is in my experience not as common these days, but safer when you already know you could have an allergic reaction to second skin (bad!). you can leave that on for a couple hours, but then you'll have to take it off and gently clean the area under running warm (not hot) water, then maybe let it breathe a bit, but DEFINITELY wrap it back up. a fresh tattoo is an open wound, and you need to protect it from outside grime lol. you'll have to do that every couple hours for a few days. you will leak Tattoo Goop. you will most likely need to sleep on a towel. it's generally not too much fun but what can ya do!

second skin on the other hand is way easier. it's a sticky transparent foil they just put On There and then it stays On There for up to seven days (depends on the brand). you can shower with it on and everything. it'll fill up with Tattoo Goop but it's fine, it won't really bother you. it's best taken off under warm running water. sometimes it leaves a sticky residue but that'll fall off in time.

now for the secret third option, this has only happened to me once. the artist slapped a Thing that was basically a big fat menstrual pad on me and then wrapped me up in cling wrap. that thing absorbed the Tattoo Leakage for the first couple hours, but from then on, it was normal cling wrap business. I was very confused by this!

artists will give you instructions on aftercare and probably recommend some creams. basically just wash that thang with water (and unscented soap? I don't do that, just use water) and put some tattoo aftercare cream on top. thin layer, we don't want to smother it.

I usually do that for uhhh as long as it feels right basically lol. maybe a week or two after the second skin comes off? a tattoo will need about six to eight weeks to fully heal, but it doesn't need intensive care the entire time.

oh and there is an itchy stage. it will drive you insane <3

now for a more unfun addendum, the tattoo industry is RIFE with racism. some artists think they can't tattoo people who are not paper white because the colours won't show up properly. this is because they're bad artists and don't know what they're doing.

try to look for artists who do have darker skin tones in their portfolio so you can be sure they aren't cunts and won't fuck you over.

hi musieee!!! i've been following yours truly for a loooong time and personally it may be the best not only in the hazbin fandom but among all the fan fiction i've read. thank you very much for bringing together so many people with the same feelings even though it takes so much effort to even think and write a fiction. (even though i was a monk while waiting for the 30th chap :p) i would be rich if i earned a dollar every time i logged into ao3 to see if the notification had arrived. it will be a great compensation after my birthday and the university entrance exam. at the same time i am very sad because we are approaching the 40th chap. especially when the story between 27-28 has reached its own consistency. i really like the dialogues, they are very natural and fluent, not only in the fan fictions, in general there is no artificiality that i complain about even in many books. you inspire even a procrastinator like me and push me to write something.

as a song suggestion, i recommend "Rattlesnake" from Kabaret Sybarit, which is a song by a Danish band that is unfortunately not very well known and has already disbanded. in fact, it is jazz-oriented fits the New Orleans theme, and some of its songs use French words as well as English, and it is a song that includes the theme of enemy-lovers. i can recommend many of his songs. btw, the word "Sybarit" is a phrase used in Danish for hedonistic men in the 1930s, for some reason this reminds me of someone else ;). Did you have any criticisms with the lastest episode of Murder Drones? Honestly I absolutely loved and enjoyed it and liked it more than the last episode, it was a little too fast paced and some things could've been handled better, but I enjoyed it! 💛🙂 But I've seen some fans and others state that this could be the turning point for the show and not in a good way, I've seen fans state that this is either is weakest and worst episode of the show or being disappointed by it, or even see it as the show going downhill and losing it's potential, I've also seen some point out how the show continues to ruin intense and serious moments with comedy which turned people away from this episode and even saw it as misleading, since the thumbnail and teaser images hinted at EP 5 being the darkest and even a turning point for the show, but while it was dark..it still seemed to suffer through the criticism some have had with the show lately, causing people to turn away. :(

Another thing I've seen people mentioned is how the show continues to throw more mysteries into the mix which leads to very little answers to the ones we already have and some that still need to be talked about and that's understandable, I think that's a reasonable and valid criticism. I mean, we only have about 3 episodes left for the season and I'm a little worried about how the show will end things and how little we'll end up finding out about the lore! But, I wanted to ask do you see the show going downhill and would you agree with some of the things some fans said and do you see yourself losing interest for the show in the future because of how the show's been handled lately? I'm honestly worried about the show's future and how things might not be improved on, (I'm not sure if Liam listens to any criticisms he's probably got for the show, btw) which'll drive people away more and bash the show even more, I mean some already said they didn't think EP 5 would be good and thought it would be shit before it even came out, lol.

Although MD is flawed and isn't perfect, I'm still very much in love with the show and it's honestly a comfort show for me, it's one of my favorite shows, tbh. Honestly, im not loosing interest and im not scared about the show's future at all, episode 5 was perfect for me.

I understand other's people concern, but i think the reason why so many get desapointed Its because they put way too much expectations over It, Liam has a very unique story telling style that may weird people out If theyre not used to It so is not for everyone, but i dont think thats a reason to think the show is losing Its quality.

And Liam knows how to write serious episodes with less comedy (episode 2 and 3 are a big proof of that) if episode 4 and 5 were goofy Its because he wanted It to be, not because he doesn't have the skills to make "serious" moments . Im sure when the right times come everything will make sense and Liam will give us one of the most gut wrenching episodes yet.

Also, maybe its just me, but i think the reason why ep 4-5 were more focused on comedy is because the future episodes are going to be way serious and more heavy emotionally, so i think Laim wanted to make goofy episodes while he can lmfaooo

I'm honestly so glad that I started to listen to them when I did. I found them at a time when I'm finally starting to think more positively about myself and seeing my own potential, like seeing that I can improve myself but also being kind to myself when I inevitably mess up. I think the messages in their songs are really comforting and make me feel seen. (Although I still remember the night when hug by seventeen absolutely broke me ahaha) Finding a talented violinist who plays music that I like has helped me want to become better in that sense too, although admittedly I have wanted to improve for a while, but Yechan has actually given me a goal which is nice. (I've started to try and learn boogie man and my respect for Yechan has went WAY up).

I have wanted to watch super and for ages!! I never knew where to find it though. I found out about it because I'd started to listen to Hoppipolla and then would watch compilation videos of clips from superband. It seems so fun! And the amount of talent would make me cry ahaha. I'll and Ha Hyunsang's voices in 1000x almost made me cry the first time I listened to it because they blended so beautifully. After getting into Lucy, I was kinda like, the bassist in the awesome cover of the Coldplay song (I can't remember what it's called lol) was Wonsang?! Yechan played viva la Vida?? With Ha Hyunsang?? That made me want to watch it more ahaha (although I don't know if I'll be emotionally prepared to see Sangyeop cry)

I'll let you know if I have any ideas haha, but definitely keep writing for Lucy! I really liked your style of writing and thought you wrote Sangyeop really well!

reading stella maris is so interesting because im just sitting here wondering like. how the FUCK did mccarthy accumulate all this knowledge about a variety of very distinct fields. my brain hurts. this is so much information. im learning nothing and learning everything at the same time. how the man managed to learn all this stuff and how he managed to put it together like this puzzle me equally intensely. its one thing to acquire knowledge. its a whole other thing to convey it in language so dense with information but also character. like, not to be that guy, but when osc does his infodumps i think to myself okay old man lets get you to bed. every time alicia opens her mouth i confront my intellectual inferiority and contemplate the meaning of life because it is alicia talking.

not to mention what the FUCK alicia. if only you’d have KNOWN. EUGH. WHAT. WHAT. WHAT.

my head hurts. the reason why im writing instead of reading is because ive already reached my reading breaking point where my eyes glaze over and the words go in one and out the other. its only been two hours. difficult language i can handle fine, verbosity is fine, i inhaled the ender stuff and only took breaks when osc pissed me off, but stella maris is information overload in a way that i’ve never experienced before. im like, texting three separate people all the time. oh i should vet this w my math guy. i need to show this to my psych classmate. this has to go to my orthopedics bestie.

i started this book saw the page number and went oh sure. its half the length of the passenger. the style means that it’ll contain less words overall too. i should be able to finish this on a three hour hsr ride. WRONG. i CANT. it’s TOO DIFFICULT. im running into roadblocks very similar to what i felt when i read the passenger: dont know place/name/context/big word. except im finding stella maris to be even more difficult because unlike some nautical jargon or random place in the midwestern usa that i can just look up, i cant. i think its impossible to even begin to comprehend all this math.

that’s definitely part of the charm of stella maris. the format of audio transcripts creates a much more intimate connection between the characters and the reader. the target demographic of this novel, though niche, is definitely not as niche as to comprise only of genius mathematicians with a burning passion for music and a hatred of psychology. the reader might be a master in one of these fields, but alicia outsmarts them in it along with all others. viewed through this lens, the reader is the doctor. the reader is the one who converses with alicia, trying their best to piece together a mind that is so extraordinarily genius and extraordinarily tormented. it’s a position of emotional significance. the reader sits through these audio recordings because they want to understand alicia. and to understand alicia is to love her. (this is a certified when i truly understand my enemy i love him moment)

all of that sits in stark contrast to western’s narration in the passenger.

i wrote an entire paragraph but tumblr fucking ate it. im pissed. its ok. for love i’ll write it again.

western’s narration is detached. it’s impersonal. mccarthy’s clinical and direct use of language alienates the viewer and prevents the formation of any sincere rapport, allowing only mild sympathy for western’s continued suffering. the reader is merely an observer, piecing together the life of a strange, curious creature through inference and deduction. nor is the reader meant to empathize with him. he’s the one who chose to abandon alicia, the one reckless enough to chose race car driving over his degree, and therefore the one who shoulders alone the responsibility of alicia’s death—or so he thinks. in a sense, because western is comparatively lucid, the detached narration becomes almost a punishment for the guilt he’s assigned to himself. he’s not the one in the mental asylum, afterall.

its interesting to me how mccarthy presents this duo to the audience. i have many Thoughts on alicia’s sexuality and stuff but i should finish the book before i synthesize those thoughts. anyway. thanks for reading 👍

like okay read my metaphor: so bland contentless non-ai art is like, if you painted a corny "gather" sign for your mom to hang on her kitchen wall. intensely meaningless, but if you have to say the work is "about" something, you could say its about the choices you made with your brushstrokes on the wood, the imperfections in copying the font you chose, and the work as a direct record of the time you spent creating a gift. maybe it only takes you four hours.

then bland ai art aping this style is like if someone bought a "gather" sign from tj maxx and they were like, i spent six hours driving to every tj maxx in town looking for the perfect wall hanging! i put labor into this, it took more time than some traditional works! but at the end of the day, even the extremely scant meaning that could be imposed on the hand painted sign is not present. there are so many layers of disconnect between the designer, the manufacturers, and the handling of the piece all the way up to the purchase, that none of the interesting quirks and imperfections can be attributed to anyone in particular. this could actually be some kind of statement to make, but the "artist" has no interest in that, they are only trying to occupy the same niche as the hand painted sign for some fucking reason.

what could be possible with ai art that no bitches on earth seem to consider is like, you purchase tens of different "gather" wall signs, all made by different people in different places, you catalog their place of manufacture, their materials, prices, etc, and install them in an interesting way, maybe build a little structure with them, maybe hang them claustrophobically close together, maybe present them with info about the companies selling them and the treatment of their workers, idk, and then you have a piece that at least says literally anything, im not trying to say it would be extremely good but imo it would have more artistic merit than either of the first two options.

readymade materials have a huge place in art but they always exist in context!!!!! ai art is not exactly the same i know but it still brings connotations with its use that you CANT get rid of you have to work with them. you cant treat any medium like any other medium they are DIFFERENT somethjng something you cant and will never separate form from content

longbow! and i hc he keeps knives attached to his quiver legolas style. both were learned out of practicality, like most things in malion's life. he needed to be useful to the clan, so he picked up hunting. the back muscles that he developed as a result are a nice bonus too. the daggers started out as skinning knives when he was with his clan, but he knows enough basic close quarters combat to keep himself safe. he switched one of the skinning knives out for a proper dagger when he went to the conclave

mage knife! he was likely trained with a staff first at his clan, which also means the accident that killed his parents likely happened while rhava was wielding a staff. i think it wouldve have been a relief to be trained with a mage knife in the crows, instead. he is a killer mage, he should wield a weapon that reflects that. leave the staves for the healers.

rhava has two modes for any feeling: immediate and explosive, or slow and building. either way its intense. with anger, he's spent a long time training himself out of having explosive reactions- because for a mage thats Dangerous. he can't lose control like that. so he bottles it up until its safe to pour out. well.. he tries to anyway :3 with varying levels of success im sure
