Daily Fic Highlight: The Odds

Today's winner of the kudos email is:

"The Odds" is a Jack/Bunny ficlet I wrote as part of my project to fill all unfilled prompts in Round 1 of the Rise of the Guardians Dreamwidth Kinkmeme. Jack and Bunny share a quiet moment in the Warren after the events of the movie. 602 words, G, M/M.

The prompt for this one was just a sentence that the prompter remarked that they couldn't use in their own fic. A unique approach for handling lines you like but know you have to cut--turn them into a prompt for someone else to use.

Figuring out the Prim plotline in The Odds universe is driving me up a wall…

He’d been frowning, but at the mention of Haymitch’s marriage prospects he laughs, “and what poor young woman have you selected for that duty?”

“Not a young woman, but a widow would suit. The elder Mrs. Hawthorne is rather handsome, don’t you think? With the raising of three sons she could easily manage him.”

“She’d never have him.”

“Perhaps not,” Prim assents, but the upturn of her lips suggests she believes otherwise.

i think we should remind musicians they can absolutely make up little stories for their songs btw. it doesn’t have to be about them at all. you can invent a guy and put him in situations to music. time honoured tradition in fact.
