Pairing: Patrick Bateman x fem!OC; CW: SMUT, FFM (kinda), established relationship, hurt/comfort, angst, breeding kink. Links: [MASTERLIST]; Song Rec: Jordin Sparks - S.O.S. (Let The Music Play); A/N: Sorry I've been away for so long, my gaming hangover is hitting hard, so I decided to post one of my drafts I'm writing for myself with my OC named April. Also, don't mind me using x reader tags since x OC tags seem to be dead. Anyway, ignore it if it's not your stuff. Love you all!
Panting, April tugged at the tie that bound her hands and wouldn't let her move. "Stop...please...Bateman...don't do this...not like this!"
But Patrick just chuckled and spread her legs, almost ripping her panties off and thrusting into her dripping slit in one swift stroke.
"Fuck," he growled, pulling out completely and then thrusting in again, longing for screams. "My little fairy... has such a tight pussy..."
The woman moaned loudly in response, so Bateman had to stick his finger in her mouth to shut her up and allow her to use it as a pacifier. Just as Patrick was about to lie on top of her and pin her to the bed, the door to their yacht suit swung open and Vanessa, his uncle's girlfriend by the way, stepped inside.
"Oh... what a scene," she murmured, putting a finger to her mouth, obviously enjoying the sight. "Mhmm... can I join you?"
Almost instantly, April pulled away from Patrick as she tried to cover herself, expecting her husband to tell Vanessa to go away, but instead he stopped in his tracks and examined the blonde with undisguised interest.
"I'm not surprised...I can tell you've been thinking about this all evening," he crooned, ignoring the way April writhed beneath him. "Uncle Vic doesn't satisfy you quietly enough?"
Vanessa leaned against the door. "April's such a lucky girl," she snapped, twirling a stray curl around her manicured finger. "So lucky that she can't even understand it...and that means she doesn't deserve you."
"Oh... really?" Patrick asked mockingly before he put his big palm over April's mouth to silence her objections. "You think you can do better?"
Wiggling like she was lying on burning coals, April was about to bite Patrick's finger, but then the man plunged his thumb into her mouth again, a gesture that was something very personal and intimate for both of them. Confused, she blinked several times and looked at him - the confidence he radiated was breathtaking - and she couldn't help but stop fighting him when his lips curled in a way that he was about to blow her a kiss.
"Let me handle this, honey." He whispered so only April could hear. "And then we can continue."
Meanwhile, Vanessa tapped her foot impatiently, the red nails of her hand almost scratching the wooden door. Such insolence only spurred Bateman to prolong the pause, as he relished the way he could keep women on the edge of their nerves.
"You know what," the man began, his face grimacing in disgust. "You can take your flat ass and get out of here right now and maybe... just maybe... I won't tell my uncle about this episode."
Vanessa froze in shock, the gleam in her big green eyes fading. "Excuse me? What...what did you just say?"
Scowling, Bateman took a deep breath, fighting the urge to unleash his fury on this pathetic bitch. "I said...if you don't leave right now...I'm going to fucking kill you!" Patrick almost screamed and before he could get up from the bed, the woman was gone.
Groaning in annoyance, the man went to the door and closed it, then returned to April, who was lying on the bed crying.
"You...you really sent her away?" She asked in disbelief. "I thought...I thought you would allow her to join us."
Bateman stroked her cheek before kissing her lips. "What a bullshit," he chuckled softly, drawing an invisible line along her bound forearm, "I need you, April...only you," he purred, licking her lips and nibbling at them barely sensibly. "Now...I want you to be...my obedient little fairy...would you be good for me...would you do anything for me?"
April gasped, his words stirring something strange in her, something she thought was impossible for her to feel, "Yes...sir...I would."
"Good girl," Patrick murmured, his voice a gravelly purr as his fingers traced the tears on her cheeks before sliding down her trembling body. "That's what I like to hear." He cupped her chin gently, lifting her face to meet his gaze. "I'm all yours. Always remember that."
Patrick's touch became more aggressive as he repositioned himself between her legs. His cock, still slick from earlier, found its way back into April's tight warmth with brutal ease.
Biting her lower lip, the woman bucked her thighs up from the fullness he gave her without mercy. "Pat-Patrick...a-awww..." her voice cracked and she almost clawed at her skin, trying to free her hands. "Sir...s-sir...it's so deep..."
Bateman rolled his hips against hers, pinning her under his heavy frame as he slammed into her, the slap echoing off the walls of her yacht suit. This woman, moaning directly into his ear, was his everything in every possible way, and if he were to breed her, she would be irrevocably bound to him. His love, his obsession, his greatest sin.
"No one else...can make you feel the way I do..." he growled low against her neck, emphasizing each word with a hard thrust that made her gasp in response. "You belonged to me..." he reassured her in that cold, yet soothing tone, filled with twisted satisfaction. "You're all I want!"
As Patrick shifted their positions so that they were now on their sides, he drove deeper into April's yielding form, fucking her sideways. Then he slipped a hand between her legs to vigorously stimulate her clit as he continued his relentless pace, her body writhing with conflicting sensations - as embarrassment turned to arousal - creating an unsettling yet unmistakable chemistry.
"I'mma c-cum..." April cried out, leaning back against his massive chest, tensed and covered in sweat. "I...f-fuck...I'm cumming!"
"Yeah...give it to me," Patrick spurred her on, thrusting even faster into her wet cunt, their mixed fluids spilling out with a wet, shameless sound. "Let it go...let it go like a good girl you are..."
His soft praise added to the fire of their passion, causing her body to quiver, but as he nibbled at her earlobe, she lost it completely as her orgasm washed over her like a tidal wave, crashing everything in its path. The tightness of her inner, velvety walls around his pulsating dick was too much to handle, though Bateman did his best to last longer, wanting to fuck out every little shock of her climax.
"God...you're so perfect," he squeezed her breast through the damp material of her dress. "You're gonna give me a child...I fucking swear..." Bateman whispered into her ear as he choked on his breath, almost reaching his peak. "Remember...my word..."
Closing his eyes, the man snuggled up to her with tremendous force, nearly shattering her bones as he rode out his own release, spurting his warm seed deep into her womb, making sure not a drop was wasted. April could feel every vein on his dick throbbing inside her, or it was just her clouded mind, for she couldn't even remember where she was.
He owned her, on every level and even beyond.
Spent and exhausted, they both collapsed on their backs, panting and gasping for air. Only after a few minutes did the man remember his tie wrapped around her wrists, and with an almost genuine tenderness, he released her hands and kissed them one by one. With her eyes closed, April just sighed and lay on his chest, seeking protection and he was only too willing to give it to her.
His fairy, so small, so helpless. Intoxicating.
As they lay there for a while, Bateman looked up at the ceiling, listened to the waves crashing outside the yacht and absentmindedly painted little circles on his wife's bare back, who didn't even realize she was drifting.
But after almost a few minutes, April woke up lying on Patrick's solid chest, his breathing steady, but somehow she could tell that he was not asleep. "Patrick?"
Bateman shifted, leaned in closer and kissed the top of her head. "Yes, dear?"
"Do you remember our wedding?" April asked, looking up at him. "Are you...are you happy you married me?"
"Of course I remember our wedding, April," he replied softly, his voice like silk over steel. "It was a grand affair...fitting for us."
Her question about happiness made him pause. His happiness didn't conform to conventional notions, but April didn't need to hear that truth. Instead, he leaned into the persona she needed.
"I wouldn't have married you if I weren't sure you were the one," he continued, sincerity in his tone. "Our lives aren't perfect, but we fit together in ways others can't understand." His fingers lightly traced her cheek, a gesture that teetered between tenderness and possessiveness. "We're bound together... by more than just marriage," Patrick whispered darkly against her forehead. "You complete me."
As April clung to him, seeking comfort in these spoken reassurances, Patrick felt a twisted sense of satisfaction. Manipulating love into dominance was an art he had mastered to perfection.
"I guess... I can say the same about you." The woman murmured and yawned, hugging him tighter.
Resting his chin on her head as if offering comfort, Patrick allowed one more phrase to slip from his lips, almost tenderly. "You make me who I am...Now rest, tomorrow we go riding."

what time-period accurate songs do you think Jeremy listens to in TSC? I want to know ALL of your thoughts on this
OKAY I'VE BEEN COOKING THIS UP FOR A FEW DAYS NOW
Like a Bird by Bell Fury Ado ofc
jk jk that song and My Prerogative by Britney Spears are Jean songs ONLY
Okay let's get into this...
Could You Be Loved by Bob Marley and the Wailers (1980)
Jeremy is a beach boy at the end of the day. I know he can surf, I know he can in my heart. I also think Bob Marley's music hits for him because a lot of it is about peace, love, and justice. When he drives to school from his family's house this is the music he listens to fix the good vibes for the day.
Disappear by Beyonce (2008)
Jeremy is a secret sad music enjoyer. I think this is a drive home song for him.
The more I think about it The less that I was able to share with you I try to reach for you, I can almost feel you You're nearly here And then you disappear
pre-jerejean y'all, I know you see it
Won't Go Home Without You by Maroon 5 (2007)
Look at the end of the day Jeremy is a white boy in the early 2000's and he is allowed to be basic! Imagine he's driving to his families house at the end of the day, where he doesn't want to be, and he's just had a painful talk with Jean and he's just belting "It's not over tonight, Just give me one more chance to make it right, I may not make it through the night, I won't go home without you" DO YOU SEE THE VISION!?!?!?
I saw your post about the alt-rock angst for bad days and I wholeheartedly agree. This is more pining and less "big sad".
BUT IF WE'RE GOING TO DO DAD ROCK THEN WE HAVE TO DO SOME DIVORCED DAD ROCK
Lips Of An Angel by Hinder
This is a joke but also-
MY GIRLS IN THE NEXT ROOM SOMETIMES I WISH SHE WAS YOUUUU
Pocket Full of Sunshine by Natasha Bedingfield (2007)
I'M SORRY! I'M SORRY! But when he's in a funk Cat plays this from the boombox and it always wins at least a smile out of him just because it's sooo dumb
His party music is Rihanna. Why? Because it's Rihanna. (Shut Up and Drive, Breaking Dishes & SOS to my specific) (2006&2007)
He also listens to Aaliyah because she's a queen. Like sexy Jeremy = Rock the Boat (2001). You heard it here first kids. Jeremy think's he's alone in the kitchen and is bussin it down and Jean walks in, has a whole 'nother sexuality crisis.
I truly imagine the Trojans going to bar that plays Ne-Yo, Sean Paul, Timbaland, Usher, Akon, T-Pain, Christina Aguilera, Jordin Sparks... I know they are menaces in the off-season. I promise you the student athletes with good reputations can be INSANE on the low
BUT FOR 90'S BOPS
I don't know why but I'm gravitating towards No Doubt. Spiderwebs and I'm Just A Girl. I can see him having a baby sitter who would listen to it and he would always want to listen to it as a kid and his parents were like "omg he must have a crush on her so cuteeee" but really he's just gay and has taste.
I think Jeremy would also be like the type of person to still be softly singing along to the music while being stressed out. Like he's texting about something important but under his breath he's like "get it calculated, do the math, made a thousand songs that make ya move ya ass"
I know the Trojan's lockerroom and lift playlists are deadly too
#I spent too much time on this#jeremy is a lil basic but he'll survive#hehehe#aftg#all for the game#jeremy knox#tsc#the sunshine court

Big Time Rush Song Rankings (+ commentary nobody asked for): "BTR"
I was bored. Decided to go through their albums and put them into a list from favorite to least favorite.
"Worldwide": Is it possible this song is overrated and hyped too much? No. This song was on heavy rotation for me from the moment I heard it. Wonderful song, 10/10. Full of love and yearning. Their all white outfits in the music video? Iconic. My mom's friend's daughter went to one of their shows and was picked as the Worldwide Girl, and young me didn't handle that well (I wasn't even AT the concert, so not like I had a chance, but still). I'm almost over it.
"Til I Forget About You": When they would show the music video for this during commercial breaks on Nick, I would leap from the couch and do the dance along with them. There used to be a good analysis post breaking down each of the boys' sections in the song and how it correlates with their personalities in the show and how they deal with heartbreak (there's also one for "Famous" that does the same).
"Big Time Rush": I used to sit on the school bus and stare blankly out the window listening to this one on repeat at like 7:45 in the morning. Just...not even awake yet but psyching myself up to live it big time.
"Famous": This one is pretty much tied with "Big Time Rush" in my head, and I'm tempted to bump it to 3, but the song's theme ultimately wins out. Love this song. Can't help but see it in a weirdly haunting light due to the above mentioned "Famous Analysis" post that I read over and over when I was younger and changed the way I saw the song from that point on. Thank you to Swedish girl-group Play for giving us this song. (I assume most people in the fandom have seen or heard the Play version already but if not, check it out)
"Halfway There": Ok, so. I love this song, but EVERY TIME I listen to it, I'm filled with slight annoyance over the fact that it's the "different" version than was originally released. When this single was released, it was KENDALL who sang the opening lines ("When the chips are down, back against the wall" etc) and then James who did his part later. That's the version I listened to for months before they got rid of it and replaced it with the version that appeared on their album. It was a jarring experience for me, and I've never quite fully recovered. The song will forever sound slightly wrong to me because of it.
"Stuck": Prior to starting this blog and doing the rewatch, I hadn't heard a lot of their songs for years, and I had completely forgotten this one existed. Like, it had been wiped from my brain. Rediscovering it was fun.
"City is Ours": Fun fact-my sister is scarred for life from this song and can no longer listen to it because when she was younger, she used it as her alarm tone to get up for school. It's forever associated with waking up in a panic early in the morning and has been ruined for her since the show's original run.
"This is Our Someday": I feel like this song is one of those forgotten ones. I don't remember it being big either in the show or outside of it back in the day (and it has the second lowest listens on Spotify). I do like it, though. Such a hopeful tune, and the line, "One is good, but four is better?" That's a good one. So true, guys.
"Count on You": This is a sweet one. I LOVE the music video for it in the Jordin Sparks episode. It's just. It's smooth. It feels like silk in my brain, though it's not one of my faves. I especially like how Logan's part, "What would I wanna do that for?" comes right at the "four" mark in their counting. Very nice.
"Big Night": Was never really a fan of this one because something about the way the music is structured bothers me but it's super sing-able, so it gets some props for that.
"I Know You Know": This one was going to be number 12, but it gets a bump up due to the acoustic version from '22 giving me slightly more appreciation for it. My original list didn't even include this song because I totally forgot about it until just now when I was going through the album.
"Oh Yeah": Not much to say about this one. I didn't really listen to it when I was younger because it was a "James song" and he was my least favorite of the guys singing-wise. (I am SORRY James stans) Love the spinning Logan head in the music video, though. I remember the fandom really enjoying that part.
"Nothing Even Matters": I simply don't have feelings about this song one way or another. It's just there.
"Any Kind of Guy": I have bizarre issues with this song. Gives me sensations of unpleasant colors and patterns. Zig-zaggy and burnt orange and brown. Bleh. Last place for "Any Kind of Guy." I think the silly music video with all the costumes didn't help.

Year-End Poll #59: 2008
[Image description: a collage of photos of the 10 musicians and musical groups featured in this poll. In order from left to right, top to bottom: Flo-Rida, Leona Lewis, Alicia Keys, Lil Wayne, OneRepublic, Jordin Sparks, Sara Bareilles Usher, Chris Brown. End description]
More information about this blog here
Now well into the latter half of the decade, the direction pop music has been heading is even more evident. The music is starting to skew electronic in its sound and the plugin Auto-Tune is starting to be featured more as a stylistic choice, as seen with T-Pain and Lil Wayne. Lil Wayne's influence over rap would become even more prominent in the late 2000's and early 2010s. Especially with the artists that would eventually be signed to his label, Young Money Entertainment.
There are many reasons why the sound of pop was skewing towards club and dance music. Modern production techniques worked really well with the style, music-purchasing platforms such as iTunes worked better for listening to individual singles rather than full albums (which caters to dance music well), and the 2008 financial crisis. With the recession, more and more people were looking to pop music as an escape. As touring and traditional concerts became less financially accessible for both artists and audiences, clubs and parties served as environments to experience music with a group. To quote this article on the subject:
With themes of luxury, escapism and radical optimism, these upbeat and positive tracks provided comfort in the fantasy of extravagance. Despite most peoples’ situations at the time, almost every song on the radio was about loving life and getting money. Music was fast and people were dancing. (Amanda Kiefer)
But more than that, CD sales plummeted after the recession, while online music consumption soared. More and more, music was making its home on the internet.
There are a surprising number of articles written about dance music in the face of global financial inequality (and many of them have started popping up recently, I wonder why...), so I've linked to a few below.
"How music has responded to a decade of economic inequality" Scott Timberg, Vox
"The Recession in the Music Industry - a Cause Analysis" Peter Tschmuck
"How the Recession is Impacting Music, Too" Laura Palotie (this article is from 2008, so it's interesting as a contemporary reading of the situation.)

I Have Looked at You in Millions of Ways and I Have Loved You in Each
This is for my secret santa, @szaleksandra ! I decided to make you both a playlist and an edit cuz I was making the playlist and I thought that it looked bare without the edit.
The link is at the bottom of this post.
This is a soulmate AU where fate has bound Tony and Stephen together, but fate has also made it so that many events are trying/keeping keep them apart. Tony and Stephen overcome what fate has forced them to experience. Basically, this playlist is full of songs where fate has placed them in many AUs separating them. Tony and Stephen keep getting together but are always pulled apart. There are moments in these AUs where there’s soft fluff. The final AU is in MCU post-IW/Endgame where fate allows them to finally have their happy ending. You get to decide what the AUs are based on the songs.

My Favorite Music in TV moments
These moments were so moving and iconic alone, but the addition of music pushed them into the longterm memory part of my brain. Then later, these songs got added to my playlists. We all have our music moments that stick in our minds like Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol in Grey's Anatomy and Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush in Stranger Things. When I think of these songs I think of these moments and vice versa. These are the ones that came to me:
Friends by Laundry Day in Netflix's On My Block (2018)
youtube
"We got so caught up" This song always comes in mind in the moment I realize how much I've grown up and changed so much from who I thought I was. It's so easy to get caught up in who you think you should be and in the life you're living.
2. No Air by Jordin Sparks in the CW's The Game
The song itself is so iconic that the moment the instrumental starts playing you can feel the air get sucked out of the room along with the news. It just makes an already emotionally suckerpunch moment that much more intense. Also, the duet with Chris Brown echoes the relationship themes between Melanie and Derwin.
3. Heatwaves by Glass Animals in Netflix's Never Have I Ever (2020)
youtube
Anyone who was into this show in any way was captivated by this scene. Aside from the emotive lighting, the drenched Paxton, and this entire scene being a complete surprise tucked away at the end of the episode: the music is what really makes it what it is. The little drum beat drop before they kissed! The slow tentative kiss! The exit stage right!! It was toooo perfect.
4. Green Light by Lorde in Fox's New Girl (2011)
youtube
Whoever made this decision deserves a kiss... or something else that would make them feel loved and happy because this is just such a fantastic choice for Nick and Jess. After 6 seasons of these two sticking mugs out for eachother literally and figuratively, the whirlwind dies down and they are just together.
5. Dreams by The Cranberries in Netflix's Derry Girls (2018)
youtube
This isn't the only time the show uses the song, but it's an example of how the song is used to recall the kid-like dreams we all used to have. The soothing voice of the singer of the Cranberries sounds so sweet, but also tentative, like how it feels to be a teenager. The whole thing is so nostalgic to see the characters, their families, their world, their dreams, that every time they play the song it feels like that carefree vibe of hanging out with friends even though there's so much uncertainty and tragedy around. It's a perfect song choice for these moments we see of the Derry Girls.
That's all. I might do another one with movies or something but we'll see. Feel free to comment your own favorite moments if you feel called to!

🎶 MUSICAL NOTES — what type of music does your oc like? do they listen to music very often?
roxy's music tastes i feel is p clearly defined throughout the fic. i dont remember if you talked about her dad's and if maybe that influenced it? would also love to know ur thoughts on the rest of the cast's music tastes pre-btr
imo i feel like even tho the series is based on a musical group, theres not much music based storylines? so its rly fun to read more of the music side of things with roxy <3
RAHHHHH THANK YOU FOR ASKING... i spend a lot of time thinking about roxy's musical interest but i don't spend much about the rest of the cast aside from a few offhanded mentions here and there. this was a challenge to put together but it was so fun! <3
the main thing i want to mention before i dive into oc music taste is the presence of music surrounding my story! every chapter title, song mentioned, musical influence etc i'm trying to keep within the timeframe + past in which the story takes place. as someone who was not really aware of popular radio in 2009, this is a very fun challenge for me.
Here is the fic playlist if anyone is interested!
It features the song where I got the title of the fic first, then the chapter titles! (and a sneak peak of the next few titles of unreleased chapters <3) These songs aren't meant to reflect anything onto the characters, it's basically just my own music taste fitting the chapters.
Now into the real question... Musical notes! Please find everything under the cut for Rox, her dad, the boys, Jo, and Camille :)
Roxy
what type of music does your oc like? Like you said, her music taste is pretty clearly defined! She's into just a bit of everything, though prefers pop and rock music above all else. Since she worked at a radio station, she was lucky enough to have access to all sorts of music, and when the station went digital, the owner let her keep all of the ancient cassette tapes they used to store everything on! Through combing through these albums from across many generations, she's been able to cultivate what she's into on her own, though her biggest musical influence is definitely her dad! If he wasn't into punk/rock she wouldn't be either. do they listen to music very often? Yes! I don't show this too often in my fic, but I think she listens to music a lot because she prefers it to silence - especially when she's alone in her apartment. What she listens to depends on her mood, and she has a bunch of different mix tapes she's made/she's found to match. So one of those could be on, one of her favorite albums could be on, or she could just pull her iPod out and put that little thing on shuffle to let the machine decide... Endless possibility! musical things this character has mentioned/is observed liking: - James - The Fray - The Pussycat Dolls - Boyquake (in universe boy band) - Taylor Swift - Green Day - Jonas Brothers - Jordin Sparks - Dak Zevon (look out girl!) - Oasis - NSYNC - Kelly Clarkson - Lady Gaga - Nirvana - Big Time Rush :) Special side note: No bearing on anything above here, but if 5 Seconds of Summer were around during the timeframe of this story they would 100000% be her favorite band. They're the perfect blend of everything she loves music-wise, wrapped up in a four hot boy package. I'm incapable of listening to their music without going 'omg this is so her'
2. Declan Somerset
what type of music does your oc like? Declan is a rock/punk/metal kinda guy but specifically the sub-genre of these types of music that culminate into local gigs at shit dive bars and basement shows. As a youngin he stumbled into a basement show with some of his friends (soon to be bandmates) and just loved the atmosphere so much he roped his friends into making their own band so they could be active participants in their community. He's the kinda guy to be like "oh, yeah, i like this band, they're super underground idk if you know them" but like... he's right. No one else in Minnesota is listening to Rainbow Sludge Baby Guts Explosion or Sexy Fishing Rod Brigade or whatever that band he saw last night was called. For him, it's not so much about the actual music, but the community surrounding it, but he would love to hit the stage and shred again if someone let him! do they listen to music very often? When Roxy was home, he would listen to whatever she had on! Her music listening habits didn't change from Minnesota to California, so whatever she put on was just background to him. Now that she's gone, he finds the house is a lot more quiet than it used to be. The only time he really finds himself listening to music is if he's at a show or if he's playing it himself. musical things this character has mentioned/is observed liking: - Nothing concrete yet! Perhaps will be expanded on in future chapters <3
3. Carlos
what type of music does your oc like? Very briefly mentioned in chapter 18 but Carlos is a big fan of Latin music, show tunes, and hip hop! I imagine growing up in a household with three generations of Hispanic individuals really helped cultivate his taste in this way. I personally do not know much about Latin music, show tunes, or hip hop music, but I imagined while they were on the plane he had Roxy listen to a lot of Selena because he though she specifically would like her music a lot. Homie was bumping El Chico Del Apartemento 512 so hard trying to get her to vibe with it while she was like half conscious and trying to not get sick lmaoo. As for hip hop, I think that was something he discovered for himself once he entered high school. Artists like Jay-Z, Eminem, 50 Cent amaze him with how they're able to get their point across and he likes to try and learn the words as a challenge (though he is not very good at it) and he also likes to make up his own dances. It's also good hockey hype music, he likes to listen to it before games. And show tunes... I truly know nothing about musicals so I cannot speak to specifics but he likes them because (in my unposted james POV chapter which will come out eventually) he used to try out for school musicals a lot. He likes the flare and the dramatics! do they listen to music very often? Back home, yes, before hockey games, before auditions, around his house, but now that music is literally his entire life he finds he's getting that fix at work and doesn't really need to listen to it on his own anymore. musical things this character has mentioned/is observed liking: - Green Day - Taylor Swift (because i said so!!!) - The Pussycat Dolls - Big Time Rush - Jordin Sparks (Honorarily bc they were mentioned in this post) - Selena - Jay-Z - Eminem - 50 Cent
4. Kendall
what type of music does your oc like? </3 His ass is so boring his only taste in music is what's on the radio. Though... his performance of Girl 2 My Heart in the first ep of the show makes me believe he actually liked some of the 90s boy band stuff! There is hope yet. Also, not in the story, but I think after his and Roxy's little scene in the fourth chapter he listened to some Oasis and was like "what the fuck. no." Too jock to rock... Tragic... But his issue before BTR was that he liked music but never found anything he liked enough. do they listen to music very often? Only at work, only when he's learning a song, only when he's trying to snoop on whatever Roxy's writing. BORING! musical things this character has mentioned/is observed liking: - Big Time Rush - Boyquake (i'm calling it ok) - The Pussycat Dolls - Jordin Sparks
5. Logan
what type of music does your oc like? Oh my GOD Logan is so into rap music it isn't even funny. Everything about it is just so exciting to him! The technical composition of the beat, the eloquence of the lyrics and how they're strung perfectly together, the performance of it all, the messages... It's like a big equation to him, and he loves it! He and Carlos often bond over this, because rap is a sub-genre of hip hop if I'm not mistaken. Artists like 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, DMX... We see the vision hopefully and I apologize for not being more knowledgeable in the rap/hip hop genre to provide more than common generalizations. He also really likes instrumental music! As we saw in chapter 16, he also enjoys being in a room in which Roxy is playing either the guitar or the piano! do they listen to music very often? Yes... This man is somehow able to study and listen to music at the same time, so he'll hit his playlist and hit the books. AKA he's listening to it a lot when he's alone. And as previously mentioned, he'll also seek out Roxy to play him some instrumental tracks too. It's good for him, no silence when he studies, and good for her, she gets to practice. How considerate of him! musical things this character has mentioned/is observed liking: - Big Time Rush - The Pussycat Dolls - Jordin Sparks (Honorarily bc they were mentioned in this post) - 2Pac - Snoop Dogg - DMX
6. James
what type of music does your oc like? Oh, James... In the same vein as Kendall, he likes whatever's on the radio, but simply because that is what's popular and he himself is popular. So pop music, for sure, is his favorite genre and it's easily accessible through the radio or his phone or whatever so he's always keeping up with the latest! In addition, however, I think he really likes R&B and soul-type music as well as a by-product of living with his mother. There's a reason he chose a Smokey Robinson song to sing at his audition and not something on popular radio, right? Part of it is because he has a really smooth voice that flows right along into the R&B/Soul type genre, but also I'd say it's mostly his mom's influence. Her son should know the "classics!" Also like previously mentioned, he's big into show tunes! It's mentioned a bit in chapter 19 hehe. He's very good at convincing Carlos to try out for school musicals with him, so they practiced a bunch together after school hockey practice <3 And of course... He likes whatever Roxy plays... And wishes she'd play for him the same way she does for Logan... do they listen to music very often? I'd say his music listening is moderate... Not as much as Roxy and Logan but far more than Kendall! In Minnesota, his mom would play her music bc she's so controlling lol... So whenever he was on the way to school/friends' houses/dates/whatever he'd pop on the radio to catch up with the latest and the greatest. His show tune listening aligned with whenever musical try outs were coming up :) musical things this character has mentioned/is observed liking: - Roxy - Smokey Robinson and the Miracles - The Pussycat Dolls - Jordin Sparks - Dak Zevon (get out of there king!) - Big Time Rush
7. Jo
what type of music does your oc like? Two words: Boy bands. It's as simple as that! I'd also say this blends into mentions of popular music, but if she has a choice she's putting Backstreet on no QUESTION. That and movie soundtracks, I'd say, but only for the cheesy supernatural romances she likes. I know she's bumping the Twilight soundtrack near daily (as she damn well should be). Also, I know she's from North Carolina but she doesn't really feel like a country girl to me... idk Being friends with Roxy and dating Kendall is like her perfect musical dream. do they listen to music very often? Yes! Like Roxy, Jo doesn't really like silence. I imagine she listens to music most when she's running lines and trying to flesh out the characters she's trying out for. Once again: listening to the Twilight soundtrack while running lines for New Town High... God I love her. Beyond that, I think she's too busy being with her friends to care particularly about what's on, so she's happy to listen to the radio or pop one of her favorite CD's in! musical things this character has mentioned/is observed liking: - Big Time Rush!!! - The Beach Boys - Jonas Brothers - Dak Zevon (before chapter 1.11.5 lol) - Kelly Clarkson
8. Camille
what type of music does your oc like? I'm not going to lie to yall i've literally thought about this for hours and I just have no idea. in the show i know she was in their camp rock spoof, so maybe show tunes? but thinking about her sitting down and listening to like... Hello, Dolly! just doesn't feel like her. my best response is that she absorbs her music taste through her friends like osmosis. Jo and Roxy like boy bands? Great, now Camille does too! Logan is rocking out to Beastie Boys? Camille is excited to be a part of it. I also know that very briefly she mentions knowing how to figure skate, so maybe even like classical music? but that feels far too mellow for her... She likes Big Time Rush and that's enough for me to say she at the least enjoys pop music. What do we think gang?? do they listen to music very often? Right now I'm going to say only when she's rehearsing for a musical part! musical things this character has mentioned/is observed liking: - Big Time Rush - ???
Thanks for reading :) These are so enjoyable for me to write and I'll do my best to add these elements into my story!! <333
#thats all she wrote fic#ash talks tasw#another mountain of words i really mean it when i say thank you for reading#<333

The main character, who was the one who broke off relations first, he sings about how amazing it's been falling back in love with his partner. Songs About Letting Go
YOu have to get into Arolyn the band's music for there songs about this.. Gratitude is a powerful force that can transform our lives. It allows us to appreciate the good things we have and to focus on the positive aspects of our experiences. One thing I'm grateful for is music. Music has the power to lift our spirits and connect us to others, whether we're listening to a crowded house concert or singing along to our favorite songs in the car.
But not all relationships are positive. Some can be toxic, draining our energy and making us feel trapped. That's why it's important to prioritize our own well-being and seek support when we need it. We can also empower ourselves and others by promoting women empowerment and advocating for equality.
Prayers can also provide comfort and support in difficult times, whether we're introverts or extroverts seeking solace in quiet reflection or turning to our communities for shared support. Dysfunctional family dynamics can be challenging, but we can learn to set boundaries and find healthy ways to cope.
Sometimes, the most powerful way to express ourselves is through music. Whether it's the haunting melody of "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston, the catchy pop beats of "Since U Been Gone" by Kelly Clarkson, or the soulful ballad "Someone Like You" by Adele, music has a way of capturing our emotions and expressing them in ways that words alone cannot.
Artists like Dolly Parton, Leona Lewis, Halsey, Alesso, Alanis Morissette, and Hilary Duff have all used their voices to create powerful songs that touch our hearts and souls. "Everybody Hurts" by The Fray and "How to Save a Life" offer poignant reflections on the struggles we all face. Meanwhile, Sara Evans, James Blunt, and Florida Georgia Line offer up upbeat anthems that inspire us to keep going and never give up.
The power of music extends beyond individual songs and artists, encompassing entire genres and movements. From the punk rock of Bad Religion to the ethereal sounds of Lana Del Rey, music has the ability to connect us to others and inspire us to action. Whether we're listening to rock songs or hip hop, worship music or country ballads, there's something for everyone.
As we navigate the ups and downs of life, it's important to remember that we are not alone. From the classic ballads of The Beatles to the modern pop hits of Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish, music has the power to unite us and remind us of the things that matter most: love, hope, and the resilience of the human spirit. So let's embrace the power of music, and let it guide us through the joys and challenges of life.

BTR REWATCH MINI POST
Big Time Rush Season 1, Episode 15: “Big Time Sparks”
I'm not doing a full write-up of this episode on account of it's actually one of my least favorite ones. But I did still watch it, so here's a collection of some scattered thoughts I had.
• Lavender looks so nice on Logan! I feel like as the show goes on, he wears so much blue, gray, and black. Early series Logan is a little more laid back clothing-wise.
• Listen. I know the constant misunderstandings between Jo and Kendall are necessary to the plot. I get that. But from an in-universe standpoint, it's completely ridiculous that neither he nor Jordin attempt to explain what's actually going on. Kendall stands there holding Jordin in his arms for over 20 seconds, and all he can say is, "Jo, this isn't what it looks like." Meanwhile, Jordin just looks back and forth between Kendall and Jo. Um. Hello?? Just explain what happened! Show Jo the banana peel!
Same with the "girly, romantic picnic" mishap. Neither of them even TRY to explain. There are MULTIPLE WITNESSES who can vouch for Kendall's story of saving Jordin from a cat attack, but he just sits there like an absolute doofus and goes, "It's not what it looks like!"
Kendall doesn't have the brain cell in this episode, that's for sure. So, who does? It ain't Carlos or Logan. It 100% is not James. There is a braincell just floating around somewhere while four boys with empty heads run around.
• The guys tend to speak in unison a good deal in general, but it is through the roof in this episode! I feel like they speak half their dialogue together. Maybe I'll watch the episode again and count because it really is very noticeable.
• The sped-up music that plays when James is hurriedly searching for a four-leaf clover cracks me up. Someone get James some help; the boy is unraveling.
• Speaking of James, I can't stand his hair in season 1!!! Doesn't he have sort of naturally wavy hair? I remember seeing pictures of him from pre-btr, and there's a definite wave to it when it's longer.
okay, yeah, I just did some googling and
He does NOT have naturally straight hair. Why did they straighten it?? It just looks dry.
• Kelly and Gustavo are also braincell-less in this episode, which is interesting, since Kelly usually possesses it. Their skunk plotline is pretty funny, though. Gustavo using the fake puppet in the remote control car and delivering his line about the real skunk thinking "they're going to a dance club or to Makeout Point" always kills me.
• Also, "We catch stuff all the time in Minnesota." ???? Why, Kendall? What are you catching? Is it for fun, or are you frequently having to trap animals causing mischief?
• Every single one of them would be dead from falling into that well. RIP to all of Big Time Rush plus Jordin Sparks.
