Im watching poolverine the movie- UUHHH, I MEAN Deadpool and Wolverine for the 6th time, and not only did I accidently stream it downstairs on accident, but I made some notes.

Ngl mcu wade scarred or not is hot as fuck. Like, idk man, I'd bang him as long as al didnt yell at me. She scares me.

I like how self-aware he is in the beginning. That he lashes out when nervous or upset.

How he tries his best to apologize for cursing but accidently ends up backhanding it with even more inappropriate information (do we think our boy has Tourettes or do we think he just lets the inside thoughts outside too often?)

The implication that he's dreamed of having children is very sweet but dude lowkey just said "Yeah but I get too much anal and oral for that :( ah well. Maybe one day"

He's fully aware that he hates his life, and all he has to look forward to is his little dysfunctional family, such as talking to Colossus about medicore tv

His current best friend being a little weirdo who asks barely legal lesbians to tug his literal chain (not a good look on you peter- like seriously dont... dont do that.. Logan would have punched you so hard if he saw that)

Coming to Al half way through the party to decompress, his banter with negasonic and happy little face when he see Yukio

Love his and vanessas "make a wish buddy" "going down 10 4" thing. How she looks at him so fondly. As if wishing he was like this all the time but knows just how hard he's masking. How he tries SO hard to make normal small talk but Vanessa made the mistake of telling wade her new boyfriends name so now he's concreting that shit in his head so he can kill him later.

Saying 'Stop that, eyes on me' worked a little TOO well. Baby boy needs 1st grade instructions. Someone write a fic of this. My boy loves him some simple instructions. Its something his adhd can handle.

Love (sarcasam) how this is supposed to be a buddy movie but the second an old man slaps his ass he is SO happy and confident LMAO like Bro CHILL you're a victim. AGAIN. My OC but I can't draw - The Widow

Maitreyi Jokhar (she/her & South Indian), Earth-206202, Present day, Spider-man/Black Widow (kind of) variant

I doubt anyone's gonna see this, but if you do and you like my character, let me know, cuz idk whether I should try to write stuff about her like other creators on Tumblr or if I should just keep her within the confinement of my mind lol.

Summary: She's basically the Black Widow if she was Spider-man and Indian. She went through a very similar process as the MCU Black Widow when it comes to her backstory. As for her suit, I got inspiration from Cindy Moon/Silk Spider and she basically wears a black face mask with a silver and black suit with straight black pants/jeans over them. She has her black hair pulled back in a braid that falls to her mid-back with curtain bangs to frame her face. For her backstory, I tried to make it as accurate to the MCU universe as I could because shes a product of H.Y.D.R.A, and I also tried to follow the storyline of ATSV but if there are any mistakes, please correct me! I made her bisexual and it'll briefly mention that below too. I'm going to ship her with Hobie Brown, cuz I'm obsessed with him, so some of that will be down as well. If you have any feedback or anything, that would be greatly appreciated, because I'm still pretty new to Tumblr and this is my first Spider-sona/OC! Also, if anyone can think of a better name for her, please let me know, cuz "The Widow" feels kind of cliche, lol.

This is a MEDIUM-LENGTH POST (About 1.2k words)

Backstory, Personality, Looks, Relationship, Fighting Style and Canon Events are all under the cut! 💜

I think I gave her too much trauma but whatever, character development and all that great stuff :p

Backstory:

Kidnapped and sold into child trafficking at the age of 5

Eventually forced into the Red Room/Black Widow Program from the ages of 7-14(the same one that Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow was subject to)

In this universe, the Red Room Program is an extension of Hydra

Chosen to be part of one of Hydra's new super-soldier experiments at the age of 15 after hundreds of failed attempts at replicated the super-serum used on Captain America during WWII

Gave her the same powers as the normal Spider-man except she has a limited amount of webs and has fangs which inject extremely deadly venom

Continued to be trained by Hydra until the age of 16, when the Avengers of her universe were finally able to find the base and invade it

Captain America/Steve Rogers of her universe took her in and treated her like a daughter, because she reminded him of Bucky who he lost in the war

She became an Avenger until her universe's version of Avengers Infinity War happened, except they weren't able to bring everyone back, and they were only able to get rid of the infinity stones

Half of the universe disappeared, including most of her Avenger friends

The world blamed superheroes for this and superheroes were no longer revered in this universe and were instead hated

She gave up her mask until she was eventually recruited by Miguel at the age of 18, only a few months after she gave it up

Looks:

I can't draw her out but this is what I imagine her to look like in my head

Fairly short, about 5'5ish

Black hair that she pulls back into a loose braid that falls to her mid-back with curtain bangs framing her face

Medium brown skin cuz she's South Indian, so probably an almond brown color with big dark brown eyes and long lashes

Wears a black face mask instead of a normal Spider-man mask, kind of like Silk/Cindy Moon's

Her suit is a black and silver spider-man suit and she wears straight black pants, kind of like straight jeans over them.

Has a big silver spider emblem on her back

Fingerless gloves to make it easier to stick onto walls

Has a side pocket in her pants where she hides a knife given to her by her version of Aunt May (expanded on in the canon events section of the post below)

Personality:

Cold, and doesn't really like to open up to people because of her trauma

When she does open up it comes out very emotionally and she kind of bursts

She has anger issues, and can get pretty heated, especially if she's performed badly during a mission or missed a punch during a fight

She beats herself up over little things, and expects perfection from herself (trauma)

She has a punching bag for this reason and she's always in the conditioning/training area of the Spider Society, trying to be better, to be the best

Despite this, she's really gentle and quiet around people she cares about (Hobie, Margo, Pav, etc...)

Doesn't enjoy physical touch unless its from someone she really cares about or feels safe around

Her love language is physical touch and quality time and if she's around someone she cares about, she'll constantly be touching them, whether its holding their hand, holding their finger or having her arm around their waist

Doesn't crack jokes like the average spider-man, has a very dry sense of humor when she does make jokes

Once someone get really close to her, she'll never let them go, always being really clingy and hugging on to them, cuz shes afraid of losing them like she lost everyone else

She never got the chance to be a kid, so she can seem a little clingy and childish at times.

She tries hard not to be, but its so difficult when she's so afraid of being alone again

Fighting Style:

She's very acrobatic

She tends to fight differently than the average Spider-person because she was trained to be more of an assassin

Uses anything in the environment she can get her hands on, like sticks, knives, sharp rocks, even pencils

Shes very handy with guns

Stopped holding back her punches after her canon event (expanded on in the canon events section of this post below)

Relationships:

After joining the Spider-Society, she met Hobie Brown and fell head over heels for him, although she would never admit it

He reminded her of Captain America/Steve cuz of how vocal Hobie is about his values and beliefs

Steve was the same way and she always admired that so it fueled her crush on Hobie

They became friends shortly after she arrived

She told Hobie about how people in her universe don't like superheroes after what happened and he immediately asked her if she wanted to stay with him in his dimension instead

She got very flustered but eventually said yes and now she stays in his spare room

He's trying to teach her how to play the guitar, but she's not that good at it

But she has a really nice singing voice

Sometimes she'll sit down next to Hobie when he plays the guitar and softly sing along to the music with her head on her knees

Its comforting for her and she likes being around him

Maitreyi isn't ACAB like Hobie, but she supports him either way, going with him to protests and being in the audience when his band plays

Since she was brought up in present-day she doesn't have as many bad experiences with racism as he does, but she, as a brown-skinned individual, has dealt with it before

She found that after moving to Brooklyn, there was a lot of prejudice against dark-skinned people, especially since she lived in the upscale, predominantly white neighborhood with her version of Aunt May

Because of this, she can somewhat relate to him, but not on the same level

Maitreyi also became close with Margo Kess/Spider-byte

They clicked when they first met

Margo likes to show Maitreyi all the cool tech she makes because her universe is a lot more advanced than Maitreyi's

She loves silently sitting in the corner while Margo works because she feels safe with her

She and Pavitr immediately clicked when they first met

Hobie introduced her to him and she was absolutely in awe of this optimistic, colorful young man who was basically the exact opposite of her in personality terms

They're both South Indian so they quickly bonded over their shared culture

Despite Maitreyi being South Indian, she does speak some Hindi, along with German, English and Russian

She doesn't speak her mother-tongue or even know what it is because she was taken from her parents so young, but she tried to learn Hindi after moving to Brooklyn because she wanted to be closer to her culture

Pav and Maitreyi talk in Hindi to each other sometimes, which confused Hobie whenever he's with them

She looks up to Miguel O'Hara

She thinks he's a good leader and aspires to be like him, even though she hates his justification of canon events

They have similar powers (they both have fangs) and he taught her how to talk without showing her fangs so she can be less intimidating

She likes Mexican food and they often go to the cafeteria together to eat empanadas and etc...

Both of them enjoy silence and quality time, so when they do get food together, they don't talk, they just quietly enjoy the vibes

Its the same with Jess Drew

She thinks she's freaking awesome

Jess was Maitreyi's mentor, similarly to how she was Gwen's mentor in ATSV

Jess taught her how to drive a motorcycle and she fell in love with it

Sometimes when she needs to blow off steam, she'll ask Jess to take her motorcycle out for a drive (She'll always say yes)

She does NOT like Peter B. Parker

She doesn't find him funny and doesn't like his vibes

She doesn't appreciate the fact that he brings his baby on dangerous missions, because she has a major spot spot for children

She DOES however love Mayday

She especially loves babysitting her with Hobie and watching him play with her

She finds it very comforting and sometimes she'll find herself staring at Hobie, just admiring his features and his voice and has to snap herself back to reality before he notices

He 100% has no idea about her major crush on him because he's kind of dense about those things

Also she's not vocal about it and tries her best to be inconspicuous about how attracted she is to him

Canon Events:

Maitreyi's first canon event was the experiment in which she gained her powers

It functions as her version of the "Spider-bite"

Her second canon event was losing Gwen Stacy

After being saved from H.Y.D.R.A. by the Avengers, she tried to live her life out as a normal teenager, under the protection of the S.H.I.E.L.D.

S.H.I.E.L.D wanted her to assimilate with the public quickly in order to prevent the possibility of her falling under the influence of H.Y.D.R.A again, and believed that by engaging with people her age and creating emotional connections, it wouldn't happen

They allowed her to use her powers to protect Brooklyn as they wanted her to hone her abilities in a safe way, while also being able to ward off the possibility of Kingpin, Green Goblin or any of the other New York villains becoming Avengers-level threats

She was given a new name, Mary-Jane Watson, and sent to live in Brooklyn under the protection of May Parker, a retired S.H.I.E.L.D agent

She met Gwen Stacy at Brooklyn High and fell in love with her

They dated for a few months and Gwen quickly found out that she was Spider-woman

Maitreyi lost Gwen Stacy during a battle with her nemesis, Norman Osborne/Green Goblin

Maitreyi dropped out of school immediately after Gwen's death and turned her attention toward becoming a full-time Avenger

She also got rid of the alias, Mary-Jane Watson, because she wasn't fond of it in the first place and started using her original name instead

Her third canon event was losing her mentor, Steve Rogers/Captain America

In her universe's version of MCU Infinity War, where Thanos collected all the infinity stones, they were only able to stop him by killing him

Thanos destroyed the stones right before he died, and dusted away 50% of the population

Iron Man/Tony Stark was one of those 50% and therefore, they were never able to travel back in time to get the stones or do any of the things that happened in MCU Endgame

Steve Rogers was one of the people who was snapped away as well and Maitreyi held his hand as he died

Her fourth canon event was giving up her mask

Only a week after Thanos happened, she threw away her mask and went back to live with May, who was perfectly willing to house her

About two months after she gave up her mask, Miguel approached her and asked to recruit her to the Spider-Society

At first she was hesitant, but she accepted, taking back her mask and once again becoming, The Widow

This is all before the events of ATSV by the way, I have no idea how I'm gonna introduce her to ATSV-Gwen Stacy or Miles yet lol

Currently: SVU (EO), MCU/Marvel (Steggy), Once Upon a Time (OQ) (shut up, i'm calling it current bc I intend to continue, I've just been taking a little break....)

Over the course of my fandom life: Battlestar Galactica (Lee/Kara), Private Practice (Charlotte/Cooper), CSI:Miami (Calleigh/Eric), and if you count all the writing I did in notebooks during my teenage years Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel: The Series (Buffy/Angel, Buffy/Spike, Angel/Darla).

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I used to respond to every single comment, years and years ago. Now I am terrible at responding to comments, for a number of reasons. 1) I just don't have the spoons I used to have, and oftentimes I will start out replying to all the comments and then the day will pass and the next day I maybe don't have the time/energy for it, and then I worry people will think I'm intentionally ignoring their comments, which I am very much not, so I kind of adopted an "if I can't get to everybody, I just shouldn't do anybody" mentality which is probably not the greatest and I am trying to work on... 2) I tend to keep the tab open for my latest fic/update for a day or two to see what comments roll in but then after that, I close the tab and I forget the inbox on Ao3 actually exists so I'm reliant on my email alerts to know when there's a new comment, and I don't check that email every day so sometimes it's dayssss after someone leaves a comment on a not-quite-brand-new work before I see it. And then I feel like I've accidentally left it too late? 3) I feel like I should have more to say than just replying to everyone with "Thanks!", or I feel bad when I have more to say to some reviews than that (because they ask a question, are more specific about something, etc.) but then reply to some of the others with only "Thanks!" Like I feel like the people who just get "thanks!" are gonna feel like I don't value their reviews as much as the people who get a longer response, and then they'll feel bad or like they wasted their effort reviewing and then I'll feel bad bc that is very much not the case. (See above re: "if I can't do it for everyone, I'll just do it for no one.") This is the (one and only) downside to me of the Ao3 comment reply format vs. FFNet review replies -- I LOVE that the Ao3 comments format lends itself better to conversation, but the FFnet review replies went to people's DMs so nobody knew if they got a "Thanks!" on this one and someone else got a paragraph. 4) I feel like it pads the Comment count? Like it looks like the work got double the response that it did, it feels a little like I'm cheating? So in summary, I have Comment reply anxiety, clearly lol. But I love receiving everyone's comments, and I hoard each and every one like a dragon with their treasure, and I appreciate everyone who takes the time to leave one. Maybe in 2024 I should make it a goal to reply to all of them idk...

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Mmmmm.... Hexes, maybe? I was scrolling down the OUAT fic memory lane last night and hit OQ Angst Week, that had some doozies. Maybe Sing A Song of Forgetting, that one was rough.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Baker's Dozen, probably. (Which, fun fact -- I put the OG version back up on Ao3 a few years back "temporarily" and then forgot to take it down, so if you have that and the published book version, now you can compare, I guess 😂)

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Not much these days, but I have a few times in the past. The one I got the most hate on is actually not on Ao3 because when I moved over my Private Practice fics from FFnet, I didn't move anything incomplete that I wasn't expecting to finish. But it was a Charlotte King fic that dealt with her fiance coming back into her life (before we actually met him on the show) while she and Cooper were broken up, and I was very clear that it was a Charlotte fic not so much a CharCoop fic, but oooooh people were mad that there was a love triangle going on and it was unclear who she was gonna end up with. LIVID. FURIOUS. That's the fic that made me turn off anon reviews for the first time bc I had someone who would just troll me with hate reviews and blow up my DMs. It was a time....

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Indeed, and pretty much... whatever's clever. lol I need more specifics on the last question.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

Not really, no.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Yes! Someone swiped a chunk of one of my EO fics and reused it like word for word (with the names changed, obvs) in their Jopper fic this summer! And someone linked me to it and I blew up their Comments section on the chapter and they deleted their entire internet presence, it was wild.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

No, because every time someone asks me for permission to translate one, I say no, bc I am very protective of my work. lol I don't like not being able to vet the translation and know that it comes across the way I want it to. I've talked in the past about having a friend of mine do a Spanish translation of Baker's Dozen, but she literally does translation for a living and she's so familiar with my writing and my writing process (and I'm so familiar with hers) that I can trust the end result would be what I'd want it to be. Also, in my experience, folks who want to translate my work also want to repost it somewhere themselves, and I haaaaaaate that. I'm a control freak about my work, I want it to be where I want it and have control over the managing of it at all times. (I get annoyed when people repost my work to other fic archives/collections, or have it bound in print for themselves, etc. I don't like that. What if I want to go back and change something? Just leave it where I posted it and link back to there, please and thank you!)

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Yes, but never to completion.

14. What's your all-time favorite ship? It's like choosing between children, I can't.

15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

If Every Road Led Back Home (the aforementioned Charlotte King fic). Everything else, I am still convinced I'll finish it someday. lol (But if we were gonna be less optimistic than that, What Happens in Vegas, and L'ébauche probably)

16. What are your writing strengths?

Porn with feelings. lol Sex scenes with what I call "heightened realism" -- it's probably consistently better sex than real-world sex, but never so much that it seems implausible or too exaggerated, and I like to include little mishaps, or imperfections, or the real things that often get skipped over (hey condoms, hey lube, hey peeing after sex) because when you've been writing sexy fanfic for two decades, quite frankly it's boring when it's perfect and shiny every time. I have a Steggy fic planned for sometime this year that is basically "their sex life has one consistent and inconvenient obstacle and here's all the ways that works out (and sometimes doesn't work out) for them." I haven't flexed my angst muscles in a while, but I used to absolutely love writing stuff that wrecked people until they were yelling at me in the comments. I miss doing that.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Rampant abuse of grammar (I know I'm doing it, I just don't care), overuse of the word "just", and too many parentheticals. Also knowing when to stop. I will use 18 words when 3 would do, and I can very easily write myself into the weeds instead of staying on target and writing every scene with intent toward a goal. (Hi, Breaking In.) Also, finishing things. (Hello again, Breaking In, and every other unfinished WIP both on Ao3/FFnet and in my Google Docs graveyard.)

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

If it fits the fic, absolutely, but only a language I can find a native speaker to check and correct for me before I post it. I don't wanna be the one out here with the wonky Google Translate French that makes people who can actually read the language cringe.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Technically, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The first fanfic I ever published on the internet was a Spuffy fic that is now lost to the ages because it was on some fic archive that no longer exists, but I did a lot of pen-and-paper BtVS fanfic writing in middle and high school.

20. Favorite fic you've ever written?

I'm gonna go with Breaking In, because it's my baby. My Beast. The big guy. My Everest. And also Baker's Dozen because it's Baker's Dozen.

Hear me out, I'm at my most creatively fulfilled when I look at fanon or canon and I say "that has potential but poor execution, let me help you out, let me 'yes and' you" so here's my pitch for the kind of starker fic I could get on board with (Peter B Parker x 616 adjacent Tony Stark)

Peter B Parker, according to into the spider verse, is 38 years old, freshly divorced and for the sake of keeping him at his most sad and pathetic, the plot of into the spiderverse hasn't happened yet. He is crying in the shower, still wearing the spider suit, eating pizza as we speak

The last time Tony Stark's age was mentioned in the comics he was 34 (can you fucking believe he'd be 50 in the mcu currently) but I think this pairing would benefit from Tony having just finished his origin. So lets say this Tony has just realized the error of his ways and is trying to get this whole Iron Man thing to work and for the sake of drama he's still doing that thing where he pretends the iron man is his bodyguard because I love that. That'd put Tony in his mid-twenties

Spider-Man runs into Iron Man one night, at the top of Stark tower and Peter gives him a stay out of my city new guy I don't trust you kinda talk. Iron Man is like I know I'm new at this but I've got to do something good, I've got to make him for my past mistakes, I have all this power and I need to actually use it to help people. And Peter's like...okay I didn't ask for your whole backstory dude. He also makes a snide comment about Iron Man being that spoiled brat Tony Stark's bodyguard and Iron Man says that spoiled brat pays my bills. Peter is like damn is he taking applications? Iron Man gets really excited about this because Tony is of course inspired by the first superhero this city has ever had, the one protecting people for as long as he can remember. And Peter is like, I don't do team-ups or friendships, Spider-Man is a solo act right now. But he promises to help Iron Man out in an emergency, maybe give him some hero tips. Iron Man says he wants to help Spider-Man in any way he can but Peter kinda shrugs him off

There's like some Stark charity gala that Peter is forced to cover for the Daily Bugle but oh no a super villain attacks or some shit. Peter is like fuck I'm getting too old for this but puts the suit on anyways and somehow saves Tony before he can call the iron man armor. Spider-Man has to carry him out of the building which requires some kind of cradling. Spider-Man is like are you okay while like maybe holding his face or something. Tony who is instantly down bad for anyone that shows him the slightest bit of care is obsessed

the next day, Peter gets a call from the Bugle that Tony Stark wants to give them an interview, but he insists that Peter has to be the one to do it. Peter is like shit, the super genius put the pieces together but my life can't get worse so fuck it. He goes and Tony is like, you're the guy that takes pictures of Spider-Man can you give me his number. Peter is like what. Tony wants to sponsor Spider-Man and this instantly boils over into a fight because Peter thinks Tony is trying to buy Spider-Man and you can't just buy goodness, but Tony genuinely wants to help. Peter storms out and Tony slumps against his desk with a drink in his hand. He is now down bad for Peter because his type is older men that are mean to him *cough* daddy issues *cough*

Spider-Man and Iron Man work together for some save the world type thing idk I hate action set pieces. Peter mentions that Stark tried to buy him and Iron Man suggests that maybe he was just trying to help. Peter calls bullshit, but Tony pushes and says that he could give him some upgrades to his suit or Peter could work for Stark industries, with the webs like that, the guy behind the mask also has to be pretty smart. Peter tells him a hard no. But Peter gets back to his apartment to a pile of bills and no emails back from all the jobs he applied to. So he puts his masters in biochemistry to use and applies for a position at Stark Industries. He gets a call back the next day

Tony interviews him and even though he was hoping Spider-Man would apply, he needs to fill the position and Peter is undeniably qualified. Peter notices that Tony looks like shit, he looks exhausted and like he's drinking more than usual but also he's got bruises that Peter can't imagine a CEO having. After the interview is over, Peter reaches across the desk and takes Tony's hand and earnestly asks him if he's okay, maybe does the "who did this to you?" thing. Tony nearly starts crying and melts into a puddle at the same time. He does neither of those things thankfully and tells Peter he's got the job, no reason to kiss his ass. Peter rolls his eyes and says that he can be concerned without wanting Tony's money

Peter starts at Stark Industries and he's working in the lab...with Tony. He's surprised that Tony is still getting his hands dirty and he's even more surprised that the CEO wants to work with him even though he's just a new hire. Tony needs someone with biochemical experience for three reasons, he wants the vital measurements in the iron man suit to be more precise, Stark Industries used to make chemical weapons and he wants to make treatments for the victims, and he wants to improve his chest plate and treat his heart condition. Peter is like holy shit none of that is for profit that's so sexy

As they work together, they actually become friends and at the same time, Spider-Man and Iron Man are teaming up more often. After months of working with the Iron Man armor, watching Tony try on and test the armor, Peter puts two and two together, but he understands the importance of secret identities so he keeps it to himself, but he does feel bad about the double life he's created with Tony and he can't help but compare it to how that foundation of lies was what made his and MJ's relationship so unstable in the first place

It's the anniversary of MJ and Peter's divorce and Peter is fucking distraught but comes into work anyway. Tony is like you look like shit man and Peter explains. Tony gives Peter the day off and offers to go bar hopping with him. Peter gets mad at him because he knows that Tony is pushing himself too hard just like Peter did at his age. He tells him that he's still young, still has a chance to make something of his life why is he throwing it away on drinking and this party boy life and wasting away in a lab with an old burnt-out weirdo like Peter. In the middle of Peter yelling at Tony, Tony kisses him says some cheesy pick-up line about maybe he likes being yelled at by older men.

They take the elevator to Tony's penthouse in the tower and they sleep together, Tony probably calls him daddy. Peter mostly does it because he misses MJ but also maybe he likes Tony too, he definitely cares about him. But he's also having a crisis because he's a decade older than Tony but Tony is also his boss oh god what's the responsible thing to do here. Tony is down bad for Peter, he wants this so desperately to work, needs this to work because no other relationship has given a shit about him like Peter B Parker has

Tony obviously moves too fast and instantly tries to start doing romantic gestures for Peter, nice dinners, gifts, getting physical while they're working together, etc. And Peter just kinda lets it happen like he's not opposed to dating Tony and he's definitely physically attracted to him, but he's not sure if he's ready for a romantic relationship

and then idk after that Tony probably reveals that he's iron man and Peter is like fuck I feel really bad about not telling him I'm Spider-Man and that's only going to make things more complicated. Maybe Peter tries to break it off and Tony kinda spirals so Peter as the older more responsible one feels the need to continue to care for Tony. Maybe Peter thinks they're just fwb when Tony has caught feelings idk

Director’s Cut answer about Deficit in Human Will

Hmm, okay, let’s see… First, I guess, I have had the idea of Clint and food insecurity on my brain for ages. To me, it just fits with his abusive childhood, time in the system, the circus with no adults to really help him, and then then being betrayed and abandoned by his brother. I see that as something that was sort of imposed on him from outside, but conversely, internally, I also think there’s this strength and resilience that his early life forged forge in him. This is where the “secretly smart Clint” part comes from—I see him as being powerfully driven (I mean he’d have to be to become the Amazing Hawkeye as an adolescent) to overcome his circumstances, so he’s a voracious learner, even if he doesn’t have much formal education.

Because I’m largely an MCU canon-adjacent writer, I usually have common traits/characteristics that I include when I write these characters, so I try to switch up little things to make each story a little different. In this fic, I tried to switch things up with Phil a little. I mean, I think he’s still the Phil we know and love (badass, super efficient, etc.), but he’s a little green in this fic, and he makes some missteps with Clint along the way, says the wrong things, doesn’t read Clint quite right, etc. But his true nature and his heart are still evident, and because Clint is pretty smart and self-aware and “other-aware” he can see beyond the mistakes to the person that Phil really is and is drawn to him for that reason.

And I liked the idea of Phil being viscerally horrified and completely confused by Clint’s food hoarding—that this was something he didn’t know about or understand--rather than presenting him as all-knowing. Food insecurity is a real thing and I definitely was trying to be respectful of it as a trauma that many people suffer. But, I think if you’ve grown up middle class and in a secure and stable household, you might not have ever encountered it. I’m slightly horrified to say that I was entirely ignorant of it as a thing until about 15 years ago, and I’m old AF and college educated. But it just, was never on my radar because I wasn’t ever exposed to it. Actually, it’s very probable that I did know people who experienced it but because of the unfortunate shame associated with food insecurity, I wasn’t aware because they hid it well. So Phil’s confusion about what he was dealing with and his horror about the implications of Clint’s behavior, I think were something that a guy who grew up in a healthy, happy family like I hc Phil did, wouldn’t have known about.

Lastly, early on, I toyed with taking the fic a different direction, and I was going to have Lu turn out to be Hydra-SHIELD, and have her use what she’d learned about Clint from Phil to torture them both in captivity by feeding Phil but starving Clint. And Phil feels like he has to eat because he needs to stay strong to take advantage of any opening to get them free, but of course, he is completely guilt-ridden but Clint is telling him to stop being an idiot and just fucking eat (idk, they’re in separate cells that are separated by solid, clear walls or something). In the end, I liked Lu too much to do that to her. Also, it probably would have taken me another 25K of words to write that plot point and the fic was so late already I felt bad at the prospect of it taking even longer to finish.

Loki is not a bad guy. He was never even a villan.

In Thor, ok yeah maybe he did some kinda sucky things, but can you blamem him?? He was feeling seccond to Thor all his life only to find out he was adopted and a FROST GIANT!? All he was doing was trying to prove that Odin, Frigga, Thor and Asgard were his family, but it went wrong. That's not his fault and he wasn't a villan.

In the Avengers movie (no. 1/Avengers Assemble) yes he was portrayed as the villan, and that was his role in the film. BUT, he was under the influence of the sceptre. You can tell this by his eye colour, and the fact that Marvel Confirmed this. Thanos was commanding The Other, who was contolling Loki (and kinda blackmailing and bribing him) through the sceptre and mental manipulation. Loki in human years would've been like 17-20ish in the Avengers, so really he was just acting out like a scared kid. He'd been through a lot and was being controlled.

Now, in Loki, we see him trying his best to do morally right things and form friendships of his own. It proves he can love, feel remorse and be sorry. He was never a villan in any of the movies, just misunderstood. He did make mistakes, but he's trying to do better.

(Also the pic you used was of the President Loki Variant, who was in an episode of 'What If?' Before presumably stepping off his path on the timeline. He has heightened pain tolerance and that is why his reaction to him losing his arm was so amusing. If you meant to use that pic then yeah, that guy is kinda bad I guess, but Our Loki is not, and is a different charichter to that guy.)

I'm pretty sure most of the Marvel family knew. Tom could barely keep it a secret from a fan years ago that he had a girlfriend. There's no way his cast mates didn't know that they were dating lol. 😅🤣

I feel like people close to them all knew (even the MEDIA knew, c'mon now... 😏). Plus, in regular conversation it's hard NOT to mention your "girlfriend" or "boyfriend" because you're usually doing things with them, or calling or texting them, like they typically come up in regular conversation sometimes.

I'm not sure about other actors that he didn't really work super closely with like Leticia or Brie, but RDJ, Mark, Chris, etc. I'm pretty sure they knew. I have always suspected that when Tom visited RDJ in LA/Malibu that year and went hiking with him after he and Z went through their breakup, I have always felt that RDJ was partly trying to encourage Tom cuz he was going through a LOT back then...the Tomdaya breakup, the Sony/Disney fiasco....The Tolivia/media frenzy/invasion of privacy, etc....

Idk why, but that was always the impression that I got. 🤷

RDJ is like his second dad lol.... 😅 He has probably given him a LOT of great advice on how to handle certain things in the public eye, and how he personally learned a lot through his own mistakes.

I actually remember reading this on the anti Wanda maximoff tag some time ago,but it really made an impact.the post was talking about how Wanda stans/tony antis shit on tony for trying to kill Bucky(which he wasn't bc he would have destroyed him,we've all seen iron man 2 and 3.if he wanted you dead you'd be dead)but like rabidly support Wanda and her revenge.

When I said I wanted more female representation in the MCU, this was not what I meant.

Honestly, Wanda stans give me a worse headache than cap stans. At least with Cap stans, Ik they’re just falling for that stupid USA propaganda. Other than being fooled by her white woman tears™️, idk wtf is wrong with her stans.

Wanda fully aware chose to join Hydra, a neo-nazi organization, as an adult, just because they were offering her “revenge” on Tony Stark, which makes her a fucking neo-nazi. She consciously decided to use her powers to mind-rape the Avengers. She actively decided to send the Hulk on a rampage to kill innocent civilians. She actively supported Ultron up until she realized she was one of the fucking humans he was going to wipe out, which makes her joining the Avengers a conflict of interest at best and pure self preservation/manipulation at worst. And all of that is just Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Later, she murders POC innocent civilians because she has no control over her powers, then gets upset and throws a fit when Tony says, “hey, maybe you shouldn’t be on life-or-death missions when you can’t control your powers”. Imagine if someone who didn’t know how to use a gun waltzed into the middle of a highly stressful mission in the middle of civilian ground with a machine gun, murdered innocent people, then got upset that they had to face consequences.

Then she throws a fit when someone suggests her microwave boyfriend’s life is less important than millions of innocent civilians, and with Cap’s support, thousands of Wakandans (black Africans) are killed, for nothing might I add considering she did a shit job and Thanos still got a hold of Vision’s stone, and half of the universe is snapped.

And woe is she, so she loses control of her powers, again, and enslaves a whole fucking city. But she didn’t know! So when she finds out that she’s hurting all of them, she throws another fit and forces them to continue playing along with her little fantasy.

And not once has she ever learned from any of her mistakes. Not once has she been humbled. Not once has she been forced to face the consequences of her actions. In fact, for her mistakes, others are punished.

But it’s alright. All of this is alright. She’s grieving and traumatized after all. Right? Because Tony Stark killed her parents with his bomb when she was a child.

Cry me a river. Why doesn’t she try to get revenge on the terrorists that deployed the bombs? Why does she actively choose to be an entitled cunt and put thousands of POC lives at risk? Why does she join a fucking neo-nazi organization?

Imagine going “oh I’m sad, I’ll join the KKK to feel better”.

But Tony is rich and she’s a white woman and she cries on screen.

And that, right there, is their logic I guess.

Imma just preface this by saying that I'm not looking to kick the hornet's nest and I'm not interested in having arguments with people about this sort of stuff. If anyone disagrees, that's cool, I legit do not care and please don't come into my inbox trying to change my mind or be upset.

I love Tony because he's a deeply flawed character, and within the story he's completely aware of his faults. He's by no means perfect and he doesn't pretend to be (except as a mask or a joke). He accepts responsibility for his actions the second he realises what's happening, he carries his guilt well and uses his mistakes to improve. He's charming, a snarky little shit, and traumatised, which is my favourite character type.

I'm Team Iron Man largely because I agree with their views in the movie. The Avengers really did need oversight, because holy shit have they done some fucked up things and made things actively worse in many instances. The fact that the accords were brought up by the UN and agreed on by 117 countries really makes it hard for me to just hand-wave those away. I live in a country that has a real problem with certain policing or political entities not having the correct level of oversight, and it's a shit-show. If I lived in a world where people could fly and punch someone into the stratosphere or destroy cities with laser beams and magic, then hell yeah would I want someone keeping an eye on them and at the very least making sure they had training/processes/policies they had to follow. The fact that Steve barely read the accords or took the time to understand them really bothered me. And the fact that the Civil War stopped being about the accords the second Barnes was involved also annoyed me. Steve had tunnel-vision, and it fucked everything up for everyone. So just on that, Team Iron Man wins by default for me.

Endgame just disappointed me. The plot was messy, and the shoehorned humour was completely out of tone. Trying to redeem Howard Stark was dumb. Thor was bad. Thanos annoyed me. Natasha got done dirty. It was just - idk. I don't really need to justify it. I just didn't have a good time overall. I haven't really liked many mcu films or tv shows, to be honest. I think I just watched them because they're the latest trend or whatever, and even the hype wasn't enough to keep me on the tether. There's just a lot of inconsistency with certain projects and it can get frustrating.

I didn't like Loki's show because I couldn't get into the characterisation of him. He turned...almost goofy? Silly? He just didn't have the sharpness I initially really liked, if that makes sense? Him being softer would have been fine, him learning to trust and have bonds would have been absolutely cool, but this was Loki fresh from New York and those first few episode just had him come off as a bit dumb. So I couldn't get into it :/

It’s so sad bc I used to be such a big MCU fan I’d stay up till 2:00 am to watch the new Disney + shows as soon as they came out & I’d go to all moves opening night. Now with Hawkeye coming out I still wanna watch it but I just do t have the motivation to watch it when it first drops. I’m not excited for new the projects anymore since I’ve been disappointed so many times in a row. I still go to see the movies owning night but idk how long that’ll last tbh. I just feel burned out & I think it’s a mistake to release SO MUCH content that your audience feels obligated to watch everything as soon as it drops. Honestly I was happy with only getting 2-3 movies per year & now we’re gonna get 4 along with a billion shows per year. It’s too much.

Oh no! It’s always sad to see something you enjoy lose the spark of joy it brought you.

You’re right, there’s just been a flood of products in the last year, and I think the fatigue is from a combination of factors.

Firstly, the biggest lie the movie industry has managed to sell is the idea that comic book movies are underdogs. “They don’t get critical recognition”, “they’re a niche genre”, “they get snobbed at the awards”. All of this is to try and create brand loyalty and the sense that you’ve invested in its growth and need to protect it, when in reality Disney’s pockets are bottomless pits that need no lining. Phase 1 might have been a gamble, but these days they are guaranteed sleek blockbusters and the idea they need extra support when they’re the ones pushing small films out of the way is disingenuous.

Secondly I think the newer movies are treated less like art and more as commercial products. The crossovers are no longer Easter eggs but require you to watch something else to understand what’s happening, ie it’s product placement. The stories are not interested in building a character, and prioritise setting up the next franchise rather than actually fleshing out their main hero.

Thirdly, fatigue from the overwhelming number of products is natural, and it helps to be aware that any sense you need to watch the next product is carefully manufactured by Disney. What I mean is — like I said above, they position themselves as underdogs (we need to support them against the mean critics!), they play on investment bias (I’ve watched 20+ films already so I’m in too deep to leave), on FOMO (X character is going to appear in Y franchise for 2 minutes!), on superficial woke points (I need to support this film that had the first <minority group> presentation even if it’s irrelevant to the whole) etc. Your sense of loyalty is not accidental.

Fourth, the commercial need to appeal to the largest denominator is drowning out any artistic expression. The underlying messages are becoming vaguer, the evil more generic, the heroes more non-committal. In a bid to make itself as inoffensive to the largest number of audience as possible, it has made itself devoid of any meaning.

I’ve always thought of the superhero genre as like shounen anime - the tone is supposed to be hopeful, hot-blooded, optimistic and focused on chivalrous ideals of freedom and defending the weak and standing up to bullies. But these days the MCU is merely an algorithm-driven corporate product and I think its true colours are starting to seep through.
