Kay's comments: This story is so incredibly well done. It's just. No one knows Wangxian as well as they know each other and I absolutely adore how it was shown in this story, how even though Lan Wangji was cursed the only one noticing something was off was Wei Wuxian. Not even Lan Qiren or Lan Xichen manage to put the pieces together and despite that, Wei Wuxian doesn't give up. No matter if its ends with him getting in trouble, he will not stop fighting for Lan Wangji.

My comments:  In which lwj stops emoting and reacting entirely and wwx is the only one who realizes that something is terribly wrong. But no one believes him, and so he has to try to figure everything out all on his own. Meanwhile, lwj is trapped inside a body that functions as an emotionless, rule-abiding automaton – more or less desperately screaming for help and not able to break through in the slightest. But wwx is on the case, and we all know he never gives up. Lwj has never been more thankful for that trait.

fuck it since my birthday is in like one day i'm gonna use my birthday wish to tell y'all to look at the shit going on in southern Appalachia right now after Hurricane Helene. look at it and talk about it and spread resources about it like wildfire because nobody else fucking is and it feels like we're on our own out here.

there are people who are stranded in hazardous areas that are still safer than trying to leave by driving on the increasingly hazardous roads. i'm personally going into my third day without electricity at this point, and haven't been able to get any gas for a generator to even keep our fridge working. there are very few places with power or running water, and cell service has just barely been restored in the last hour. ground crews are working hard to repair things, but there are many, many areas that are entirely inaccessible that may not receive these fixes for several more days if not weeks. i'm afraid my own neighborhood might become one of those areas if repairs don't get to us soon, and since we're much more rural i have a difficult time trying to be optimistic about it.

we're very far inland. i guarantee you damn near everybody here was expecting a little more rain and wind like we usually get during hurricane season, if they even heard about the hurricane beforehand in the first place since most people only got about a twelve hour notice before landfall- after several major areas had already been flooded. our terrain protects us from most major weather events- most locals have never encountered a single tornado or legitimate tornado warning in our entire lives. nobody i've talked to or heard from about it seems to have had any idea that it would be this bad. everybody's wishing that they took it more seriously, but we've never, ever had to before. i've seen people comparing it to Hurricane Katrina and honestly i'm not sure if that's all too inaccurate. today while looking for a single working gas station i drove by a military helicopter parked in front of the elementary school i went to when i was little.

please for the love of god, talk about us. talk about the good memories you had here or the beauty of our mountains, and talk about how devastated we are as we watch historic structures, buildings, and entire towns get wiped from the face of the earth like they were never even there. stop dismissing us as uneducated hicks and rednecks and hilllbillies and fucking help us.

A beloved poet, teacher and life-long activist for Palestine, he was recently assassinated along with members of his extended family by a targeted Israeli air strike. personally i like to think of the vees less as some group of evil masterminds but more like. a particularly shitty group project

sure, velvette calls herself the backbone of the vees, but what she really means is that she designs the slides and transitions to look cool as hell while vox does all the research, writing, and sourcing, meanwhile valentino cries and stabs a broom handle through his laptop because he can't figure out how to change the font size

this all goes perfectly fine until they're presenting the project and alastor yells "you misspelled 'colour'!" from the crowd and vox abandons their a+ grade in favour of murdering his ex

Sparring sessions with Damian would be the worst. He's constantly mocking you, trying to make you lose your edge. And he's quick too, dancing around any punches or kicks you throw. Even when it's obvious you won't win the spar, he still doesn't take you down. He'll let you keep going. Keep struggling till you're a sweaty and exhausted mess.

That's when he'll pounce. Pins you down to the sparring mats, his body straddling yours. You try to buck him off. He just thrusts his hips back down into yours. The bulge in his sweats pressing against you has the fight in you disappearing like smoke. You look up at him, confused, and he merely smirks back down at you.

"Not going to tap out?"

You do, hand tapping the training mat, even as you stare into his emerald green eyes. You don't think you could look away even if you tried.

"Hm, but I think I've earned my reward, don't you?"

It doesn't really matter what your answer is, does it? He likes it when you struggle, after all.
