#hilary for ts #i have been waiting for FIVE YEARS to get a new one #i got up #i checked my bank to be sure my payment arrived #the mattress is ordered #the mattress is paid for #the mattress will sadly not ship for another 1-2 business days #and therefore the mattress will not arrive until the end of next week #but it's a REAL NICE MATTRESS #i got it for half off #my elderly back rejoices #you can indeed just feel the Elderly dripping off this post but yknow I regret Nothing

I hate sales. It’s not a surprise, I went back to school to try to avoid working retail and the game industry is shitting itself so here I am once again in retail. But the fucking worst part is how much worse I’m getting paid.

When I sold mattresses last time I was making incredible money because the company I worked for was employee owned. I got bonuses, I never made base pay, I always sold enough to get commission. Then a mega corporation bought it and fucked everyone over.

So no more bonuses, lower commission, less benefits. All the evils of capitalism and no union.

I’ve been forced into trainings over and over being like, “If you do a good job and add on accessories and bases you’ll get paid so much more!”

But guess what? I’m great at my job. I fit people for the right pillow and sell protectors because I believe those things are important. I haven’t made commission in months. Deliveries are spaced out, I’m stuck too often in the little store. My sales numbers look incredible, I’m in every way a model employee. Except that I’m getting paid shit to be a model employee and it makes me furious.

#ramblies #vent #we need a union like yesterday #hypothetically the new schedule will see me more days in the big store so I could earn more but I cannot believe how shitty pay is #my friend runs a small store and kinda hinted he’d hire me on #but I doubt I’d get health insurance and we’re trying to move further east to cut down my wife’s commute #it’s so frustrating #I know I’m worth more than this #el problema es el capitalismo #because I still have rage adding on to say that yesterday I had like 13k sales day #and I was like surely NOW I’ll make commission #but I still probably won’t because several mattresses were back ordered and will go on next pay cycle #and my commissions will split up and stay small and I will make hourly once again

He was getting so brave and coming out to the living room all on his own to explore. But after he peed on my bed I had to make the executive decision that no cats are allowed in my bedroom unless I’m in there (at least until further notice).

Now that he’s forced to be in the living room it’s scary out here. He has to hide under the couch so the living room monsters don’t get him

Weighted blankets are amazing until you have to mash your sheets and then you have to remove all your pillows and blankets and plushies from your bed and you regret all your life choices.

#but also I slept amazing last night with my fresh and clean bedding and all my neatly arranged pillows #I take my bed seriously #when I couldn’t find a fluffy mattress topper I bought a $20 comforter from the kids section and layered that below my sheets #and ordered a king sized bed-gap filler to go along the side of my bed that touch the wall. that way stuff doesn’t fall down the side #when I escaped dv one of the forst thing I want to do was reclaim my sleep #because sleep had been taken from me #I wasn’t allowed to sleep before her #which meant I didn’t sleep until after 2 and I work in the mornings #I would also get yelled at for sleeping wrong #sleeping wrong mean sleeeping with my arms in from of me

amazing what sleep will do if you're feeling bad

#speak friend and enter #i stayed up till 3 last night bc i was upset and didn't want to be alone w my thoughts essentially #and then wondered why i just kept feeling worse as the night went on 😐#for context i hadn't slept since sunday night so. i think that was a large part of my problem #but now ive slept and cried a lot of it out so im gonna go get 'breakfast' (it is 2pm) and go shopping 👍#i think cleaning and decorating my new place will make me feel better too. i always get kinda icked out by new apartments #just because i haven't had time to clean them the way i want yet. but i can do that today!#and i ordered a new mattress and can get a duvet today and make it feel like my own :)#anyway. the scary thing about all this is that it's all up to me to make it work.#but on the flip side it's all up to me!!!! no gods no masters just me and whatever strikes me at the moment :^)#i dare say i think it's gonna be ok! and if it's not im gonna make it ok!
