Now, seeing how frustrated Peggy looks, Steve doubts that decision. He’s also sure that Bucky would smack him upside the head for it. Bucky’s always been much better at knowing what to say, especially to ladies, than he has.

“I’m sorry,” he says, truthful as anything. Steve wouldn’t dare to try and pull one over on Peggy. “I should’ve written. We’ve just been so busy- I thought I’d write you, and just as soon we’d be off again.”

Some Unused Urbz (GBA) Dialogue

I was looking through the string table in the Urbz for GBA and noticed some dialogue that goes unused in the actual game and decided to catalogue it and share it because I just love things like this.

If you see an '@1', in the dialogue, that's just a placeholder for the player's name (or at least for all of THESE. Sometimes it's used for other things.)

As a side note, the dialogue for this game is pretty well-organized and all the characters have distinct enough voices (TS2GBA DO NOT INTERACT) that it's incredibly easy to figure out who said what. There's also a lot more unused strings, but I'm just focusing on the dialogue right now

First of all, all characters, not just those you can have as a roommate, have roommate acceptance dialogues. So, here are all the unused ones.

BAYOU BOO: Gosh, that's fine idea. Don't mind if I do. BERKELEY CLODD: Sure I'll move in with you. What a splendid way to meet a whole new set of clients. LINCOLN BROADSHEET: Sure, I'll live with you, buddy. But be warned: I stay up late. CRAWDAD CLEM: You know, It'd be real fun to share accommodations with you for a bit. Sure. EPHRAM EARL: To haunt your house with your permission, this I will do. PRITCHARD LOCKSLEY: Sure, so long as you help me memorize my lines. HARLAN KING: Of course I will. How wonderful! LOTTIE CASH: Okay! That'd be killer! We're going to have such an awesome time. LUTHOR L. BIGBUCKS: Sure, why not. It'll be just like college all over again. MAMBO LOA: I would gladly share accommodations with you. When do I move in? Now? MAXIMILLIAN MOORE: Sure, why not? So long as you don't mind the smell of bleach. OLDE SALTY: You're darn tooting! I'd be your roommate any day. CRYSTAL: Okay! I can't wait to redecorate your dumpy pad. POLLY NOMIAL: Yes. To maintain a domicile with you would be most enlightening. GIUSEPPI MEZZOALTO: Why not, right? It'll be loads of fun. I'm moving in today! ROXANNA MOXIE: Sure, why not? It'll be fun, you know? A real laugh. THERESA BULLHORN: Yes! I would love to share your life of glamour and fame. DARIUS: Heck yeah, dawg. We can kick it together. DADDY BIGBUCKS: You betcha! DET. DAN D. MANN: It's an interesting proposition. Hm… Consider it done! LILY GATES: An excellent plan! Your place is much closer to where I work! KRIS THISTLE: You want me to move in with you? After all I've done? Wow. You're great. GRAMMA HATTIE: What a grand idea. Your house will be a great place to hold meetings.

There is also an unused set of rep group-related dialogues. These ones most likely being used if you managed to get an exceedingly poor rep with your rep group.

DARIUS: Hey, @1. Check yourself before you wreck your Rep. The Streeties are getting sick of you hanging around. LUTHOR L. BIGBUCKS: Sorry to be the one to break this to you, @1, but the rest of the Richies think you're getting a tad uppity. Clean up your act or we'll boot you. POLLY NOMIAL: Our patience with your gradual assimilation into our social sphere is waning. Progress or be excommunicated from the Nerdies. ROXANNA MOXIE: A few words of advice @1. Shape up or ship out of our group. End of story.

These MAY not be unused, but I've never heard of anyone getting any of these messages, and, for the life of me, I could not get them to activate through my own twiddling. There exists no dialogue for actually kicking you out of the rep group. So even if this WAS used, it would just be an empty threat. (I mean… it's implied that it was your rep group that picked you up after you crash landed in Miniopolis, which is why you're apart of it despite not really knowing anyone.)

As a side note, when I was going through getting to -10 rep points with the Richies, after about -6, every time I lost a rep group point, Roxanna Moxie kept on giving my silver plaques. RICHIE silver plaques. Using the Artsie silver plaque dialogue. By the time I was done testing things out, I had five of them. Strange glitch?

So, the Urbz GBA, for whatever reason, doesn’t let us romance the elderly. That doesn't mean that there isn't flirting and kissing dialogue for the unromancable characters! The first dialogue is flirting, and the second one is refusing to accept a kiss.

EPHRAM EARL: A piece of human interest seems to be the loving way. EPHRAM EARL: I cannot kiss that which I cannot touch. HARLAN KING: Eh? Does that have a saucy secondary meaning I am not aware of? HARLAN KING: Ugh! No! Your breath smells like everything but fresh! OLDE SALTY: Arrr, you've cracked my barnacle encrusted heart! OLDE SALTY: I'll kiss no one! Not until you proves your devotion! DADDY BIGBUCKS: Hello there… do you mind if I buy you a small island? DADDY BIGBUCKS: Get away from me, you pest! I'd sooner kiss a sneezing dog. GRAMMA HATTIE: Stop it this instant. I know you're just trying to fool with an old woman's mind. GRAMMA HATTIE: Ack! Help! Help! Police! This boy is trying to inhale me!

Related, when a character accepts a hug or a kiss in-game, they don't say anything. However, there is actually unused dialogue for this event. Almost all of it is just "Aw!". However, there's a few exceptions.

BAYOU BOO: Aw! BAYOU BOO: Plant one right here, girl! BERKELEY CLODD: Come hither and embrace me, @1! BERKELEY CLODD: Ah! LINCOLN BROADSHEET: Come here, you! LINCOLN BROADSHEET: Oh! EPHRAM EARL: If arms were ribbons consider this my bow. EPHRAM EARL: Ah! EWAN WATAHMEE: Hugs are free, yes. But they are also round. EWAN WATAHMEE: Ah! PRITCHARD LOCKSLEY: It's so good to see you too! Let's do lunch. PRITCHARD LOCKSLEY: Ah! LOTTIE CASH: It's fun to be this close to me, huh? LOTTIE CASH: Oh! LUTHOR L. BIGBUCKS: Wrap your arms around me, baby. LUTHOR L. BIGBUCKS: Yeah! MAXIMILLIAN MOORE: You washed your hands before you hugged me, right? MAXIMILLIAN MOORE: Eek! CRYSTAL: Gee, thanks. You're sweet. CRYSTAL: Oh! OLDE SALTY: That's right, give poor Olde Salty a nice hug. OLDE SALTY: Yay! DADDY BIGBUCKS: Normally I don't let people touch me if they're not wearing an expensive coat. But for you'll I'll make an exception. DADDY BIGBUCKS: Normally I don't let people kiss me if they're not wearing fruity lip gloss. But for you'll I'll make an exception.

The first dialogue here is accepting a hug; the second is accepting a kiss. All characters not listed here just has "Aw!" as a response to both being kissed and hugged.

There seems to be a scrapped interaction, most likely called 'Talk about Pets.' from the subject of the replies and the fact that it was tucked between 'Talk about Ninjas' and 'Talk about Politics,' which would make the placement alphabetical. I wonder why it went unused!

Not every single character had a line for this. The following characters do not: Bayou Boo, Crawdad Clem, Ephram Earl, Ewan Watahmee Harlan King, Luthor L. Bigbucks, Mambo Loa, Misty Waters, Olde Salty, and Theresa Bullhorn. Some of these characters do have other lines that refer to owning a pet; they just don't have a dialogue here.

BERKELEY CLODD: I looked into buying a talented chimpanzee, but very few know how to pick pock- er, pick their nose. LINCOLN BROADSHEET: I have my pet rabbit to thank for my interest in journalism. Why? Well… isn't it obvious? PRITCHARD LOCKSLEY: I was so proud my pet lizard Harvey was cast as the lead in a new gladiator film. Sure he beat me for the role… but he was wonderful! LOTTIE CASH: I have a cute little pug named Paris. You don't think I'll get sued for that, do you? I hope not. MAXIMILLIAN MOORE: Sooner or later, every disease that pets get will jump to humans! The end is near! CRYSTAL: I totally want a pet dolphin so it can protect me from sharks. PHOEBE TWIDDLE: My mom was a cat lady and my dad was a dog guy, so I learned to love pets very early on. But I'll never forget the smell. POLLY NOMIAL: Your colorful colloquy is highly amusing. GIUSEPPI MEZZOALTO: If I tell you I like snakes, you'd better not make any jokes. Got it? My landlord doesn't allow pets, so when I moved here I was forced to sell my ferret. CANNONBALL COLEMAN: I owned a crow a few years ago. He made enough noise to scare ghosts away. I miss that old bird. GRAMMA HATTIE: I'm definitely a cat person. And a dog person. And a chicken person too. I'm really a pet person. DUSTY HOGG: I used to own a small python and a small dog. Now I just own a bigger python.

'Talk about Pets' does not show up in the list of interactions earlier in the string set.

Lincoln Broadsheet has some mission dialogue that, again, may not be unused, but I have never seen, and I have never seen anyone else talk about it.

YOU: Mister Broadsheet, would you help me write a thesis? LINCOLN BROADSHEET: Gosh, I would if I wasn't so busy. Tell you what I can do though: I'll let you use my computer to log in to my research database. That should give you some good ideas. LINCOLN BROADSHEET: Hey, have you heard the recent news? A local TV station is filming a new Reality Television Show. YOU: Interesting, but I don't watch much TV. LINCOLN BROADSHEET: Me neither, but don't let that stop you from going up to Paradise Island and signing up. If you do well I could write a big article about you. YOU: Are they still letting people sign up? LINCOLN BROADSHEET: I think so. Head up to Paradise Island and see for yourself. And if you do well Id love to write an article on you.

Note: I have been informed that the first two lines in this section actually can happen in-game!

It is also appears he would have given the player the Reality TV Show plotline.

And finally, ‘The Bad Ending.’

This is actually listed next to all the character introductions, so this would have been how Daddy Bigbucks introduced himself, if he were to actually introduce himself. There are placeholders for the other characters who don’t get to say a proper introduction as well (Kris Thistle, Det. Dan D. Mann, Crawdad Clem, Harlan King), but they’re just placeholders. No text of relevance.

He's reserved, in complete denial for a long while after realizing his own feelings and if you dont confess first he wont EVER, he decided.

However much this man has a resolve of steel though, his thoughts about kissing you DO get out of hand for him. He makes the mistake of ranting to Lavi about it, who won't stop teasing him about it.

Lavi accidentally spills the beans to Allen who goes into complete and utter shock - which pisses Kanda off even more because really, does he honestly seem like the type to be SO incapable of a healthy loving relationship at first glance?! (don't answer that!)

So he practices. A Sunday morning he's standing in the bathroom, looking himself in the mirror and trying to confess. He doesn't even get through one sentence though because talking to himself is absolutely ridiculous. 0/10 won't ever happen again!

Surprise! It does happen again, and again and again.... Almost every day at this point, after brushing his teeth.. He practices how to confess to you!

After he's deemed himself prepared he asks to hang out with you - which isn't an unusual occurence, you've been meditating with him for months now after you showed interest in wanting to learn and started hanging out just the two of you afterwards (you just wanted an excuse to be with him, mostly)

Also he is not even the slightest bit insecure on whether or not you'll reject him. Not because he's that confident but honestly? You’re close with him and he feels like he can read you like an open book. He’s not blind to the way your eyes linger on his lips (at least not blind anymore....)

 "Are you having a stroke?" Alma asked when he walked past Kanda on the couch one day as he was holding back a blush and a smile from reading one of your stupid texts again, "shut up, Alma".

So when the day comes he’s taking you to the meditation room, setting up with you and sitting down next to you. He keeps stealing glances and holding back a smile, knowing what’s about to happen (he gets to try and finally kiss your lips)

He honestly thought of something bigger but he wanted it to be about the two of you. So when you’re both seated and positioned correctly he breathes out an “I’m in love with you, you know.”

He keeps his eyes closed but he hears the way your breath hitches, hears the way you move around your mat and nears him and he’s actively fighting back a blush when he can almost feel your breath on his cheek. He opens his eyes to see you staring right into his, “what the fuck kind of confession is that!?” you ask, almost enraged by the casualty of it - if his words hadn’t been so... heavy, you would’ve thought he was joking. You still fear he is, “don’t mess with me!”

His face scrunches up at your reaction and he’s confused for a solid moment, unsure why you’re mad at him. “You don’t like me back?” he asks, almost confused and brows furrowed. You flop back on the mat with a sigh and even wider eyes, “you’re serious?” you ask again and he leans closer to you, his heartbeat quickening. He lets the blush he was fighting to hold back earlier loose as he gets on his knees to crawl to you, “I’ve never been more serious in my life.”

His hand travels to your cheek and he gently touches it with his thumb, “can I kiss you?”

You stare at him, dumbfounded and gather your strength to nod and lean toward him.

He’s a very gentle kisser! He’s aware of how rough he can be around the edges and wants to be the opposite with you

He doesn’t act like you’re made of glass, though! He will still kick your ass if you train with him! He sees you as a perfect equal and while he won’t admit to it, he likes seeing you riled up - especially if it’s because of him and silly things. If you’re ever sad or frustrated he will support you, though!

His toxic trait is jealousy... I’m sorry but this man is JEALOUS. He’s not possessive per say, but he will glare daggers at the person behind the counter at the supermarket who even remotely sounds like they’re flirting with you. His glare is scary for others to experience. You always smile apologetically to the poor cashier before you leave.

Kanda CARES so much about anniversaries! They’re very important to him - he remembers the days for your first kiss, your first (real) date, first time he slept over as your boyfriend and the day you moved in together. He even wants to celebrate the day he realized he was in love with you!! He’s so precious, he writes them down in both his own calender, yours and the joint one in the kitchen.

Kanda’s love language number 1 is physical touch. His favorite dates are when you’re sprawled out on the couch or the bed, completely entangled in each other, he’s like a cat. It took him a while to admit and even longer to start asking for it but he absolutely adores when you’re fingers rests on his hip, moving in mindless circles as you’re watching yet another film he hates

(”we can turn it off if you hate it so much,” you mutter after the second negative comment about the composition and camera positions (when did he become an expert in move making?) You feel his grip tighten on you, “never.” he mutters as he kisses the top of your head) You guess you’ll never figure out why he enjoys “torturing his eyes with such imagery” every weekend but you don’t complain. His gruff voice close to your ear and the expert cuddles makes up for it.

Kanda also has a soft spot for matching couple outfits.... Nothing wild, just matching sweaters or color coordination! He’s super embarassed about it at first though, grumbles through the entire Christmas dinner where you’re matching but can’t hold back the need to match again at New Year’s! It starts a whole thing for him.

Kanda snores. Loudly. I’m sorry but you can’t convince me otherwise. In the beginning it’s a whole “deal with it!” kind of situation but behind the scenes he’s researching how to help it - he buys one of those nose clips and even tries the anti-snoring nose sprays!

His first priority will forever always be your safety and happiness. So whenever you have arguments that take a stronger turn than friendly bickering, he sits you both down to talk it out and figure out what to do with any problems you might encounter! He doesn’t sacrifice his own principles for you and he expects you to hold to your own as well! That will cause clashes and fights once in a while, but he’ll always be there to hold you when it’s all said and done.

After all, there’s nothing he enjoys more than waking up for his morning workout 15-20 minutes before he has to only to look at you, peacefully asleep next to him, grumbling about the morning sun as you try to crawl into his skin to be closer. It’s home, it’s the love he lives for and there’s nothing better after any rough day than coming back and going to bed with you so he can experience these magical minutes the next morning, right?

Please talk more about Cyril. I strongly agree with you about his honesty. He is an underrated gem and not enough people are talking about him without taking a potshot at Rhea.

Falling ass over teakettle into the fe3h tumblr space has really solidified my opinions on pretty much every character by virtue of the fact that I've taken to combing through the datamine as a way of either corroborating or disproving takes for my own enjoyment/knowledge. Cyril was just . . . There before, but now I look at him and I'm like . . . Cyril you don't even know it but there's one brain cell in this game and it's yours.

What started the path to winning me over is his support with Lysithea :(( I think it's a fan favourite for FE3H-enjoyers, and it's so deserved, and for me it's a favourite because it hits a lot of Cyril's really good points! He wants to do things on his own as best as he's able, in large part because he feels he'll never be able to pay Rhea back for the support she's given him; he has his own obstacles in doing what he wants to do, and struggles to verbalize that no, in fact, he cannot do every little thing by himself just yet; he's kind and he's blunt and he has a heart very much capable of love that's not entwined with adoration and idolization. (His supports with Ashe...Seteth...Petra...He is just so neat. He has such love to give. F u c k .)

And I like that he's realistically jaded considering what happened to him. Not even jaded, I guess--he's just painfully realistic, which is enjoyably contrasting against his young age. Like when he says to Lysithea, "Sure, we live in the same places now, but that's not gonna last forever." Especially after a relatively tame/lighthearted support, I like that little splash of his outlook on life! This is a boy who was forced into being a child soldier; though we're not reminded of that fact like we're reminded of Dimitri's trauma, it's still prevalent in the small ways, and I love that.

And his bluntness makes his compliments fucking gems!! He straight up looks at Lysithea as is like, "I think you're pretty when you smile. I betcha everyone tells you that though, huh?" Like okay king, go off. Shower her with the praise she deserves without a second thought! Honourable mention goes to the way he fucking obliterates Hilda in her supports with him, completely unintentionally. Good for him though; I adore her, but she's got some spots to iron out.

I also really like that he's a little different from the rest of the non-Fódlan-natives in that he fully and completely just has no attachment to Almyra--because sometimes that's just how it is when you're removed, either by yourself or other parties, from the place you were born. It's not his fault he had a shit time; if the child wants to make the most of the life he's been given at Garreg Mach, I think he should be allowed to do that.

“...L/N-san, why aren’t you going to the banquet tonight?”

“I’m busy.” you simply replied to your co-worker, not even looking up from the sheets of finance papers in your hands, your brows furrowing in deep thought as you encircled some mistakes on the paper.

“It's the weekend tomorrow!” Aiko exclaims, shaking you lightly, “You can take your work home and finish it there! This is only held once a year and it's your first year in the company! You can’t miss it!”

You finally turned to your over-enthusiastic office mate and narrowed your eyes, “I can’t miss the grocery sale tonight.” You deadpan. Aiko blinks once then twice and suddenly she bursts out into a boisterous laugh, “Y-You got me there, Y/N.” she says, clutching her stomach.

Your expression remains the same though and it slowly dawned upon your raven-haired office mate that you weren’t joking at all, “Oh, you were serious.” Aiko stops laughing, realizing how stupid she must’ve looked. You return to your work but she continues to stare at you, ever since you entered the company six months ago, you refused to attend any work-related parties or do a lot of overtimes (this wasn’t a surprise, you always managed to finish your work before deadline)

You just didn’t bother correcting them when they thought he’s dead.

“Hm.” You simply hummed a response, “I don’t like leaving them alone a lot.”

“I-I understand,” Aiko sighs, comforting you but it's deaf on your ears as usual, “Have you never considered dating again?”

“I’ve got two growing boys, they’re enough for me already.”

Aiko shuts her mouth when she notices that your tone is sharp as if you’re telling her to drop the topic because it’s not in your best interest as of the moment, “May I see what they look like, L/N-san?” she asks in pure curiosity, changing the subject instead.

You simply open your phone next to you and there sits the lockscreen of two wide-grinning and identical-looking boys with raven-colored hair, “They don’t look like you.” she loudly observes but you’re not at all hurt by it.

“They got the best parts from their otosan, I guess.” 

The only thing the boys got from you was your eye color, it seemed like they were their father through and through in terms of looks, over-enthusiastic attitude, and love for the sport. In fact, only recently, the youngest twin had expressed his excitement to learn volleyball, the oldest, being the competitive one too, decided to join in and expressed that he had started to truly like it after a class.

Thankfully, your officemate doesn’t pry more about your life. You ended up resuming your work without much disturbance. You try to finish quickly, you have a sale to catch after all.

People often found it odd when you pointed out that you were the mother of Youta and Yuuto, for one, they looked and acted nothing like you. If you had to describe them, it would be balls of sunshine while you were just the gloomy rain clouds looming over them. It was definitely an amusing sight for many when they got to know your dynamic and many wondered how you made it work.

You watched the pair rush down the grocery lane in a hurry as you push the cart filled with essentials needed for this month, Youta was annoying his twin once again as they paced down the snack lane and tried to find the choco pie they’ve been raving about these past two weeks, “Slow down, you’ll fall.” You scolded lightly.

“Hai!” They called out in unison as they went behind one of the shelves, you stopped to take a biscuit off the shelf and read the nutritional facts, keeping an eye out on your boys from time to time. You suddenly felt a presence on your side, were they done taking the choco pie already? Sighing under your breath, you’re getting ready to be fake scared because they loved sneaking up on you but when you feel no tug on your leg, you’re immediately surprised for real by the familiar face in front of you.

“Miya-san?” 

You regain your composure almost immediately, not wanting him to notice how tense and scared you were, amongst everyone you had to run into, it had to be the twin brother of your ex, “ Well this is a surprise.” he greets, you could feel the distant tone on his voice and you weren’t phased by it the slightest, after what you did to his other half, you’re surprised he even approached you, “Me and ‘tsumu wondered where the hell you ended up after disappearing on him randomly and breaking up over the phone after a week.”

It wasn’t exactly the best plan but it was the fastest way out.

“I apologize.” You bowed down, you were sincerely sorry about what happened but if you could’ve done it again, you’d do it for the sake of your kids and his career, “Whenever I look back, I knew I could’ve done something better than treat him like that.”

Osamu’s brow quirks up, you were still as calm, cool, and collected as you were six years ago. It was scary how Atsumu fell for you when you were this unphased and cold. What the hell was he on when he fell in love with you?

“Well, thanks to you, he worked himself to the bone.” He shrugs, “He’s got a better life now.”

“I know.”

It may not look like it but from time to time, you’d check up and see how he was doing. Even more so during these days since your boys were getting into volleyball. Youta’s favorite was Hinata since he was one of the small guys in the league and he played very, very well. Ironically, Yuuto’s favorite setter was not his own father but a guy named Kageyama Tobio from the adlers who could set the ball at any place and had the greatest timing ever.

“He’s got a girl too.”

“That’s goo-”

“ ‘Kaasan!” A loud yell bursts out, cutting out the younger Miya twin. Osamu looks around, wondering who the boy was calling but when he realizes it was you, he’s in shock and he doesn’t even hide it. The cold facade he was waving in front of you immediately diminished when two identical looking boys ran to you at a fast speed, one clung onto your leg while the other was tattle-taling.

“Oh, is that Miya Atsumu, ‘kaasan? You didn’t tell me you knew him!” Yuuto points out, staring at the large man in complete awe. Youta who seems to finally notice who the guy was, immediately lets go of your leg and joins in with his twin, completely forgetting about the little spat they have.

“I’m his twin.” he corrects, Osamu wasn’t very good with talking to kids yet they didn’t seem to mind at all, they were still as excited when they realized that he used to play too and was the one who spiked his brothers sets back then.

“Woah,” Yuuto exclaims, “How are you not in volleyball? I betcha as good as him! Mom would comment how good he plays when we watch him on TV and mom hates sports!”

Osamu doesn’t know what to say next, he’s just surprised that you even watched and kept track of his twin brother after all those harsh words you said on the phone, what’s even more surprising was that you were a mom (and someone's wife probably)  and you seem to have a good life judging by these kids energetic upkeep. 

“...wish we could watch it live though! I heard the adlers and the jackal’s have another game soon!” Yuuto frowns, crossing his arms, “ ‘kaasan’s always busy.”

“How about yer otosan?” Osamu wanted to let that out for a while, he’s very curious to see who you settled down with, according to one of the many stories about you from his twin,  you weren’t a big fan of marriage and settling down permanently. 

“Oh,” Youta blinks, “Kaasan says otosan’s in a better place now. Do you know what that means, Mister?”

Osamu feels his throat constrict at how casual and nonchalant the boy is, he probably got that characteristic from you. These set of twins dealt with the idea of death way too casually towards a stranger.

“Baby, I think you should give him a rest now. Why don’t you both grab the wafers over there.” You try to calmly take them away in front of the grey-haired man, you didn’t want Osamu to keep interacting with them. There would be breadcrumbs left if the boys kept divulging about their lives towards him, Osamu had always been quick-witted despite his quiet nature.

The boys seemed downcasted right after but they listened quickly and wobbled towards the wafer shelf at the front.

“I thought ya didn’t want to get married.” 

“We didn’t,” you blinked, “He was gone before the boys were born, I wasn’t able to tell him.”

Osamu’s eyes narrowed, “You love him or something?” 

“I do,” you replied coolly, ��Very much so until today.”

“I see,” the grey-haired man was still looking at you, trying to gouge any reaction but you remained the same, “I wish you did the same to my brother.”

“He seems happy and successful now.” was all you could reply to his bitter phrase, “As sorry as I am, I can’t take back what I did. I can only atone and keep moving forward.”

Miya Osamu wants to yell at you because you didn’t see the state his brother was in after you left but he couldn’t bring himself to, after all, it seemed like you were unappalled by him and that his words would mean absolutely nothing.

“Then I hope I don’t see you again, L/N-san.” he spat, putting as much hatred in his words as possible.

“Have a good night, Miya-san.” You simply replied, bowing down. 

“I wish you did the same to my brother.”

“Kaasan says otosan is in a better place now.”

“Kaasan, do you think otosan would be proud if I became the super best volleyball player?”

“Stupid, it should be the both of us who’re the best!”

“Yeah! If we became the super best volleyball players, maybe he’d come back from that better place when he sees us on tv!”

You suddenly dropped the plate you were holding, a loud sound resonated in the small kitchen. Shakily, as you picked up the broken shards of the plate, you felt something trickling down your cheeks, “Ah…” you breathed out, wiping out the stray tear.

When was the last time you cried?

“Kaasan?” a small voice called out, you hurriedly wipe out the tears and pick up the broken shards of the plates before turning to the two boys in transformer pajamas.

“Hey.” you tried to reply steadily but the little lump on your throat prevented you from doing so, “Have you brushed your teeth?”

The boys gave each other a quick glance and the only thing they replied with was opening their arms to you, you blink for a moment,surprised by their quietness and their open arms, “When we have a bad day, you’d always do this to us.” Youta mutters, seemingly shy by this, they were never one for big hugs and kisses, saying they were big boys now.

“Did that miya atsumu-fake make you cry, kaasan? Should we get’im?” Yuuto grumbles, their attitude seems to contrast their exciting ones a while ago.

You bend down to their level and just encompassed them in a hug, “Kaasan’s just tired,” you hummed as you buried yourself between them, seeping in the warmth of their hugs and comfort, “I’m all better now, I’ve got you two anyways.”

You placed the small encounter you had with Miya Osamu at the back of your head, not wanting it to be a distraction or a hindrance. You couldn’t cry in front of your kids anymore than that night, you shouldn’t. You were a single parent, the only rock and permanent companion your kids would have for the rest of their lives, you couldn’t let them down.

“L/N-san have you heard?” 

Thankfully it was your day-off today and you could pick up the boys earlier than usual. The mom next to you looked more excited and elated, you were betting that this had something to do with gossip around their circles.

“I’m sure she hasn’t, she’s a rather busy mom, akiko-san.” another gushed.

“Ah yes!” she giggled, “Sorry I can’t contain my excitement but Sugawara-sensei is very good friends with a member of the black jackals, apparently he was his kohai back in high school.”

You feel your shoulders tense, it couldn’t be right? The amount of coincidences seemed to hit you like a truck, first osamu, now your kids teacher?

“Ninja Shoyou was it? Yes, well, they’ve decided to host a mini training camp this weekend! All the members would be there! Ah, I hope my boy gets noticed!” Riya grins, “Your boys would be very pumped, right? I personally heard Sensei telling them how natural they seemed to be. They even had their own jerseys made for the class!”

You could only nervously nod along and excuse yourself, you wanted to hurry home and deny your boys to go to this training camp. As much as you supported their love for the sport, you weren’t ready for them to meet him. They loved to blab and if Atsumu were to get wind of them, what would he say?

You didn’t want him to deny them right at their faces.

At the same time, somewhere at an upstate part of the city. Miya Atsumu lays on his bed with a naked woman sprawled next to him. His head’s fuzzy from the alcohol he drank last night and how early he and his partner had finished.

“What the fuck, put some clothes on, ya freak.” He hears his brother curse as soon as he goes out of his bedroom. Osamu would randomly make an appearance in Tokyo to fix up his plans for the franchising of his store.

“Thought you had your own place to crash?” Atsumu ignores his brother’s statement as he grabs a short that had been thrown to the side last night.

“I’m going back later, thought I’d swing by before I went home.”

“How nice of you.” the blonde deadpanned, “You should leave though, Riku’s still here.”

“You don’t say...you lot like to go at it like animals in heat.” he mutters, a look of disgust crossed his features, “I’m just here to drop by some food, I can’t leave you dying.”

“Could’ve left it in the ref and dashed off when you saw the panty on the couch.”

“Again,” Osamu crinkles his nose, “Disgusting. Kita-san would throw some disinfectant at you.”

The blonde rolled his eyes in reply as he grabbed some water by the refrigerator, Osamu watched his brother for a bit, wondering if he should tell him. They’ve never talked about Y/N after that phone call six years ago, he had to walk on eggshells around his brother for a year because of that, taking in a quick breather, he confessed, “I saw Y/N.” 

The room turned silent, Osamu waits for a reaction, a curse or anything similar to that yet he’s surprised by the lazy smirk adorning his brother's features, “Hn, it looks like you’re the one who she called and broke up with on the phone.” he laughs.

Osamu is wary but he doesn’t push it, “I was just surprised that’s all, you weren’t exactly in a good place after she left.”

“That was ages ago, ‘samu!” he exclaims, shaking it off, “I betcha she still doesn’t give two shits about me and what happened because that’s how she is but i don’t care because i’m living the life now! I’ve even got a nicer and prettier girl now! Who, mind you, is better than her in many emotional levels. Y/N’s history.”

Osamu didn’t want to tell him about the kids or the ‘man’ you met after Atsumu who you claim to love very dearly so he kept his mouth shut and just went with the flow of the conversation. Not pointing out how his twin just changed the topic right after as if he didn’t want to dwell on it and open anymore wounds.

Jiang Cheng for the Give Me A Character thing

★ How I feel about this character

I love (1) fashionable angry grape!!!! But he also frustrates the fucking hell out of me. sTOP TALKING TO PEOPLE’S BACKS U STUBBORN FUCK I don’t know why I always pick the trashfire characters. Like he has a very demeaning view on the worth of people’s lives when they are not directly under his responsibility, and we know he makes some Choices on this. He’s sharp-tongued, prone to anger and putting his foot in his mouth, and has an intense fear of failure/low self-worth. A truly perfect (horrible) storm when you toss him into this oppressive hierarchical society with an impending war and shitty abusive parents. BUT his earnestness in wanting his family to be safe and together is very moving and heartbreaking. He tries really, really hard through it all actually. It would have been very easy to side with his mother, but instead, he nopes the fuck outta that disaster, takes his sworn brother, and goes to their sister instead. However bitter he is that he’s never good enough for his father, he for the most part makes a rather concerted effort to not let that be Wei Wuxian’s fault. He is (grudgingly) proud of his brother and proud to be Wei Wuxian’s brother. Jiang Cheng is a person who loves and feels so intensely that he doesn’t know what to do with that tornado of emotions, and oh man, is it a journey watching him try suffer.

★ All the people I ship romantically with this character

Zero..? I’m not super interested in romantic ships for Jiang Cheng. I ship my guy with therapy, recovery, and emotional growth with his family. However, I do have a soft spot for meaningful courting combs being kept safe in a handkerchief hidden somewhere in the back corner of a drawer that he never looks at and pretends doesn’t exist but is always acutely aware of.

★ My non-romantic OTP for this character

YUNMENG SHUANGJIE. Need anybody even ask? *screams and screams about it in the corner* Look, they deserve happiness after all the massive fuckery they and the rest of the world put each other and themselves through. I have read excellent meta about letting go and moving forward from unfixable relationships. But– I call bullshit. They’re brothers. Not only that, they want to be brothers. They want to reconcile. They just don’t know how for a lot of traumatic childhood reasons. But they should be allowed the chance to try, now, without all the distractions of war and imminent death. Like sure, they could be have a version of happiness and at peace without each other, but I don’t think they could ever be whole without this relationship. You can’t be Jiang Cheng without Wei Wuxian, and you can’t be Wei Wuxian without Jiang Cheng. Their happy endings include each other, so why not watch them bloom together? 

★ My unpopular opinion about this character

Jiang Cheng was Right™ to be upset about the golden core transfer. (Is this an unpopular opinion? I have no idea what’s popular and unpopular.) He wasn’t being an ungrateful whiny little weasel or other what-have-you reasons that I’ve stumbled upon in the, uh, not-so-nice side of fandom. I say this even though Wei Wuxian is hands-down my absolute favorite character whom I will die on this hill defending. But Jiang Cheng was being rightfully angry over being forced to undergo a life-threatening operation without his consent that left his brother crippled, then lied to about it for 13/16 years. Was his sacrifice very noble and heartbreaking? Yes! Did he do it because he loved his brother? Yes!! Was it still selfish as fuck? You betcha son!!! I don’t know how anyone can look at the utter devastation on Jiang Cheng’s face during the golden core reveal and think “stop crying and be grateful.” That shit hurts.

I’m not judging here. For an orphan, who just lost his second family and was wrongfully blamed for it, to then have to hear his little brother say he wants to die, Wei Wuxian would’ve done anything to save him. But it doesn’t make it any less selfish. While we as an audience knew exactly the kind of sacrifice and pain that Wei Wuxian endured, Jiang Cheng didn’t. To him, his sworn brother and best friend simply decided very abruptly without explanation to fuck off to demonic cultivation and then more or less abandoned him after Jiang Cheng sacrificed his core to save him. Of course, that’s not Wei Wuxian’s fault because he didn’t know (funny how that works), but as you can see, we have, before you, the Twin Idiots of Yunmeng.

★ One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

OCTOPUS HUG HIS BROTHER AGAIN GDI!! I will forever be mad about Jiang Cheng’s loud ass pining from across the courtyard in full view of like everyone, followed by his stubborn unshed tear and bittersweet smile whispering, “Take Care.” Meanwhile, Wei Wuxian in his pretend post-resurrection zen of “that was all in my past life” only to have the most heartbroken face as soon as Jiang Cheng looks way.

Please gtfo with this goddamn bullshit, and go fucking hug each other, you absolute mORONS.
