revisiting an old OC concept from 2021!! I’m so happy I decided to draw them again, she’s literally so dear to me <333

her name is Honey and she’s definitely a normal girl and not a sentient hive of bees in a suit <33

(pronouns she/it/they?? nobody knows what to call it but they’re just like if a genderless swarm of bees was a girl basically. you understand.)

First time making a character sheet. Anyways, here is Zoe! One of the two main characters of ‘The Ashen Magus’ (which is a placeholder name for now). The other main character is her twin. I will draw his character sheet next.

Leaning towards Biatriccia (shortform: Bia) but…

lol! i want to name her after some little flower for plot reasons but i also want to make up all the plant names because fantasy worldbuilding!

The Princess/Heroine in my fairytale, a little bit Snow White and a little bit Cinderella, she is all the things a fairytale heroine needs to be, brave and clever but most of all kind, but her character arc more revolves around missing the days people took care of her, coping with her anger and grief, and healing from more or less having to be the one who had to step up and save herself.

Phew, finally done with the dod headshots! I definitely had a lot of fun and I loved experimenting with a more cartoony style and brush textures!

I tried to keep their designs based closely to their names and personalities! I did make tsunami a little bigger size wise than clay but she’s definitely shorter and more muscled than him.

I tried to make glory and clay almost iridescent like clays underbelly is described in the books as copper like and I wanted to bring parallels between clay and glory bc I like the idea that they are kinda alike if u know what I mean? And I wanted to give Tsunami fins like a wave of water like what surfers surf on! Like those water tunnel pictures! And I loved giving sunny features like starflight bc she’s a hybrid. I feel like if she wasn’t so unassuming you’d immediately be able to tell she’s a hybrid heheh. And I like to think Tsunami hated when her siblings got hurt enough to take all their “training sessions” with kestrel nearly every time, and continuously challenged the guardian enough that when she did take them kestrel didn’t hold back whatsoever and was constantly nearly permanently injuring her and she required many, many scars over the years.

Well, I had a blast making these and I hope you guys like em! ^^

Funny idea re: Henry’s last name, if he isn’t a Vanderlyle; if he’s an orphan, going the Jean Valjean kinda route and him saying “Just Henry” every time he gets asked for his last name he winds up on the police books as Just, Henry, which eventually becomes Henry Just.

Which is amusing enough, given his laundry list of petty crimes, but then he grows up and marries a lawyer.

And now I’m imagining they meet because Diedre was given his case to prosecute as like, something small and basic and so easy even a woman could handle it and it turning into this nightmare that ends with them half accidentally crippling a fairly large organized crime business because they couldn’t stop flirting with each other.
