Droid Village - randomly assorted thoughts once more

The extinction of humans happened in 2734, while phantom crystals were discovered in 2411.

Robots nowadays don't have distinct countries anymore, but the ones built before the humans went extinct were, obviously, built in specific countries. Colonel was built by a Polish man, Tadeusz Żuk, while 56-18 Plasma and 94-48 Sparkbot were made by a Chinese company. Seweryn was also Polish, but built moreso by a company as well, and MedTech-376 was built in a German factory.

When it comes to serial numbers, despite robots from a series being referred to by the series' title (like PITs or AGUARDs), they're most often referred to by being called an unit from a specific series, such as "an ARES unit".

PIT-5102 is helpful, friendly, and selfless... a bit too selfless. Being one of the many, many PIT units produced, they don't percieve themself as important, not as an individual unit. They tend to dislike it when they mess up in any way, and are therefore very dedicated to doing their job well. They don't notice flaws in others as often, though.

Their relationship with FLO-R4 makes them realize there's more to them in the optics of their friends, and it matters that these friends see them as unique - they don't see it right away, certainly, but FLO-R4 always liked them for being, well, themself, either way. PIT-5102 is still learning to accept it.

Sometimes, they bring FLO-R4 random little organisms they find in the caves, like mushrooms or moss, although FLO-R4 also doesn't mind hearing about the interesting stones they find either.

As overall helpful as FLO-R4 is to others, they consider themself more important than the other villagers because of their job. That's why they can come off as slightly arrogant, or percieve their contributions to the village to be greater than they actually are. Generally, looking down on others subtly.

Their relationship with PIT-5102 and TerraSO-4's friendship with AGUARD 1997 make them realize that their talents and one-of-a-kind model shouldn't be making them feel they're above others, or at least it shouldn't make them treat them worse. They slowly learn to pay more attention to others' talents, even if they seem mediocre in comparison.

56-18 Plasma built Lampi as a learning unit, which means Lampi's a robot that learns skills from experience instead of having a ready database. While they mostly keep track of how Lampi develops, especially around the lab, Plasma is just glad to have a friend around. Lampi was around for only 15 years, so they have much to learn.

Despite what could be expected, they met Colonel only once they moved into Droid Village. Their friendship bloomed rather quickly due to them being older robots from before humans went extinct, certainly, but they just generally like interacting together. It helps that 56-18 Plasma often gives repairs to Colonel.

There was an occassion when it turned out that 56-18 Plasma forgot to register Lampi as an existing robot, which resulted in them having to go with Drifter X31 to Commastok on the nearest occassion. To their and Lampi's relief, they didn't need to change Lampi's name.

They have a hard time with meeting other Lopen-oriented AGUARDs, and have cancelled an order to transport a new batch of Lopen to them on at least one occassion. Drifter X31 didn't exactly like being notified about it this late.

Having been built as a factory error specimen meant that AGUARD 1996 lacked many characteristics Lopen AGUARDs need to control their alien herds properly, such as the usual unit's height or strength. Even if they learned to use other advantages they may have, such as their speed or their claw's sharpness, they still think of themself as flawed. They tend to turn to violent options because of how they learned to deal with the Lopen, and they have a short temper - as short as a robot could have, at least. Still, they do want to help others in the village, and they are glad when they do succeed in their job - they hate failing in their purpose even more than PIT-5102 does.

AGUARD 1997, being built to care for the Bijou, is a generally calm robot. They love helping others and want to make sure others feel pleasant, and they often percieve things positively. They don't feel upset with others too often, but when they do, they have trouble making others aware of it.

They like visiting TerraSO-4, as the two like sharing topics together, such as about what they find beautiful, or general village stories. FLO-R4 is just glad TerraSO-4 has a friend, especially one who matches the AI's enthusiasm about aesthetically pleasing things.

TerraSO-4 is quite the pleasant AI, and appreciates when they get to interact with more robots. Just like FLO-R4, they are incredibly proud of their work, though the desire to be recognized for their importance can make them jealous of their robotic sibling.

Both AGUARD units have an option to play the same sounds their alien pets make, which helps with luring them in a bit more.

Colonel has trouble with remembering things on an inconsistent scale, which means sometimes they forget specific events or facts, and other times they remember them just right.

FLO-R4 keeps in contact with FLO-R2 the most out of all the other FLO-R units, same going for their AI companions. FLO-R2 doesn't always appreciate it, but she doesn't mind talking to them on a videocall from time to time.

FLO-R2 is one of the few still existing robots to be referred to by gendered terms, which is because she's gotten so used to feeling connected to the organic life she works with that she adopted that characteristic in particular.

Due to her job, she can filter the water she collects in her hatch without hurting the organisms inside, even using a mechanism in one of her arms to throw out the resulting dross.

Despite damaging PIT-5102 for not much reason, ARES 1410 didn't suffer much consequences. Colonel called their parent company, Arsenal Inc., about the incident, but the company never did much about 1410 specifically. As far as everyone knows, they're still doing their usual patrols.

There was one time where ARES 1410 crashed in Droid Village due to their rotors failing, ungraciously landing on AGUARD 1996's part of the alien barn. You could imagine neither AGUARD 1996 nor anyone else was happy with that happening. 56-18 Plasma fixed them up after they were brought to their lab, but 1410 specifically was sent away as quickly as possible. PIT-5102 thankfully didn't meet them directly this time.

Interestingly, ARES units, as a concept, are heavily repurposed from a former war-oriented series of robots called TalonACE, down to the transformation ability - although TalonACEs could also transform into jets and tanks, depending on type. ARES units are essentially the post-human version of them. They keep in being overall combat-oriented instead, and some units don't even resort to violence as often as others, just moreso strictness instead.

BEHOLD: MASSIVE LORE DUMP!

Peter B. Parker is a young troublemaker who has a problem with authority. He also has a knack for picking tech apart and putting it back together, which puts him on the radar for a small-time gang that needs someone to act as their alarm system breaker for a big score.

Unfortunately, said score had bad intel and what was supposed to be a simple robbery turns out to be manslaughter when the resulting fire that was supposed to cover up their tracks ends up killing two guards.

Peter is tried as an adult with the rest of the gang and sentenced to Rykers for 5 years.

At Rykers, Peter meets Marko Flint, who takes Peter under his wing. and teaches him how to survive and thrive when wearing the orange.

Life goes on for 5 years. He learns the trade, gets some tats, learns how to make some great shivs, and becomes a better criminal all around. Yay prison!

Peter gets out at 21, and reunites with Uncle Ben and Aunt May. He does his best to clean up his act, but normal life is hard for someone who spent their formative years in prison.

(He also makes questionable hair and fashion choices. What can I say, he's catching up!)

He goes from job to job, trying to pay back his aunt and uncle for all their support but is completely unequipped for the 'real world.' After a few months working/getting fired from soul-crushing menial jobs (HS dropout!), he agrees to take 'one last job' with Marko that is 'guaranteed to set them up for life'.

*cough*

This robbery goes off without a hitch! No one is hurt and they make off after hitting a heavily armored Oscorp Transport with a ton of documents/tech that they aim to sell to the highest bidder.

The biggest mystery is that one glowing vial of untested, experimental serum they found...

Unfortunately, Oscorp doesn't take robbery lightly. Marko finds out through contacts that the serum (whatever it is) is too hot to sell on the market, so he instructs Peter to get rid of it so it can't be traced back to them.

Peter, a rational 22-year-old ex-con, 'gets rid of it' by mixing the serum into ink and tattooing it onto his wrist, triggering the start of his mutations.

It takes a bit, but Peter get's all the regular spiderman benefits (webs are organic), plus one more. The serum was created from the venom of the Portia Spider, a hunting/jumping spider known to be uniquely intelligent among arachnids.

Alongside the speed/strength/spideysense, Peter also grows some fangs that secrete a powerful venom.

The venom speeds up the body's processes, working almost like an insane performance booster and enhancing an injected person's strength, speed, and senses for a few hours.

Unfortunately, repeated doses also eventually induce shock, paralysis, and, later, death.

He gives a few samples of it to Marko as an exit fee.

Uncle Ben was suspicious of how Peter suddenly got so much money, but took him on good faith. But, while he was watching the news that covered the Oscorp robbery, connected the dots and had a blowout fight with Peter that ended with him having a cardiac event.

Unfortunately, he did not survive.

Aunt May and Peter were estranged over this for several years.

This event crushes Peter, sobering him up immediately. He goes back and gets his HS diploma, and works on night courses in college.

However, he spends much of his days wandering, angry at himself and what he did. He beats up a mugger one day and realizes that he could be using his powers to back up the faith Ben had in him.

Spiderman is born!

Eventually, he and Aunt May reunite, and their relationship is slowly healing.

A few years later, Peter is on the up. He and Aunt May are close again! He's got a bachelor's in computer science, has a (semi) steady job, and is well-liked as Spiderman by the populace at large. His rogue's gallery is roguing- etc.

Unfortunately, a variant of his venom (developed by Kingpin) hits the streets as a drug. It's favored by both criminals for its performance-enhancing strength, as well as civilians, for the time-slowing sensation/high it gives them.

His girlfriend, Mary Jane, who has been sober for a few years, relapses. Peter, knowing that he can't stop her from getting it on her own, reveals his identity and becomes her main source.

At least, this way, he can control the dosage.

Marko (who sold Peter's venom to Kingpin) manages to fire off his only two brain cells and realizes that Spiderman IS Peter Parker.

Then he outs him to the world because Spiderman made it personal.

Peter's life catches on fire. The entire world is after him. His loved ones have to go into hiding because there's no shortage of criminals and psychopaths who want to get their hands on MJ and Aunt May to get to Spiderman.

Peter ceases to exist. It's not safe anymore. He spends days (weeks? months?) in the suit. Eventually, on the run and burnt out, he pleads his case to Dr. Strange in desperation. (Ala No Way Home)

"Everyone deserves a clean start."

Dr. Strange agrees, but the spell can't work with Peter still existing as part of the equation. So it fires him off into a reality where Peter B. Parker, and by extension Spiderman, never existed.

So how's an ex-con/ex-superhero (for now) supposed to carve a space in a world that never knew him? By finding somewhere that doesn't ask any questions.

And it just so happens, that St. Margaret's School for Wayward Children has a reputation for both being a bar of questionable repute and looking the other way.

Might as well start there.

I find it endlessly fascinating how much Alhaitham outside of his character stories is portrayed as someone solely defined by the present. He never mentions his family ever. You don’t even know he’s an orphan unless you read them, or even that his grandma was such a pivotal figure in his life (and inspired some of his current views). He’s so divorced from his past you could be convinced he just popped into existence one day with no fuss.

THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT | Concept Redesign

Taylor Swift's 11th studio album The Tortured Poets Department dives into the lives of victorian women who refused to adopt wholesale the codes and conventions of the male poetic tradition.

Theodore Turner, Thomas Bennet, Paul Wright and David Morgan founded TTPD in 1835 in New York with the hopes of making their way through the world of literature. 20 years later they found themselves being the most prolific publishing house in the city with acclaimed poems and short stories becoming an undeniable force among their female readers. No one could believe four men around the age of 30 could understand the nuances of love, heartbreak, loss and hopelessness as well as they did. But not every story has a happy ending. While the four gentleman became history and their names were positioned next to the biggest names of american poetry of the 19th century there's something that lies beneath that chronicle.

35 Women were the backbone of TTPD writing everything from poems, short stories and even clever and witty jokes that were quite hard for victorian men to grasp. While relegated to the back of the building they tried to fought for their space in the poetry world. Each publication was signed with the initials TTPD and while common readers could interpret that as the well known acronym of the company's founders they believed leaving their own trace would mean something to future writers and women across the country.

The Tortured Poets Department was born out of anger and spite yet kept going for so many years, until the company closed, because the shared love for poetry and expressing and seeing the world in a different way was cathartic for 35 women who from a young age were told to get married fast and not intefere in gentlemen's business.

This album shines a light on those women who died thinking their efforts to become someone were useless. The Tortured Poets Department dives into lives of 35 victorian women who refused to adopt wholesale the codes and conventions of the male poetic tradition and recounts the story as it should've been told in the first place.

How Much Territory Are the Fallout Player Characters Actually Micromanaging: An Analysis

I did some amateur research to figure out which of the Fallout protagonists (specifically 3, NV, and 4) have a reasonable area of land to constantly traverse. I used Apple Maps to find the straightest possible walking path from a point on either end of the game map, then multiplied the north-south and east-west figures to get an approximate square mileage. Since none of the walking paths were completely straight, these numbers will all be a little higher than actual. BUT the game maps also don’t completely correlate to the real-life locations, so consider these numbers to be estimates.

The Commonwealth: Around 600 square miles. This is honestly pretty manageable, especially if you’re teleporting or helicoptering all over the place. It would be exhausting, but you could theoretically get across the map in a day with time to spare for questing.

The Capital Wasteland: Around 800 square miles. Fairfax is the halfway point; very few locations on the western half of the map actually correspond to anything in real life. The exception is the cavern Little Lamplight is based on, which would make the game map 100 miles long. The map definitely doesn’t extend that far into Virginia.

New Vegas: Kind of hard to calculate at this scale, but we’re looking at a little under 3000 square miles! Through. the Mojave. Desert. The Courier is really going to have to commit to a course of action before traveling, because they won’t be coming back for about a week.

If you’re a fanfic writer, remember that you don’t owe realism to anyone. BUT, if realism is something you care about for your writing, keep these distances in mind!

If you don’t mind the questions, how’d the Tortuga gang react to Chris tagging along? I assume they understood Chris would be joining them early on into Martin being accepted, but I imagine the situation was more like. Martin snagging a new job on the Tortuga >> realizing he can’t take this job and leave his brother alone >> Chris says don’t worry just take me with you >> Martin nervously asking heyyyyyyyy is it cool if my little brother comes with?

Obviously everyone had to be cool with it eventually, but do you know what Aviva, Koki, and Jimmy had going through their heads when a mildly emo, 14yo Chris rolled in with a deeply anxiety-ridden Martin?

This is kinda the awkward phase of the team's relationship where they know Martin is struggling, but he's not willing to let them help just yet.

The second Chris finds out about the Tortuga it becomes his life-mission to convince Martin to let him go on the trip (it will not be difficult at all to convince him)

Martin is just hesitant because he wants to make sure he's not being selfish in his decision to join the team. Of course Chris wants to go too, but Martin is trying to think of his best interest.

Of course, he eventually realizes that the team genuinely cares about them and he's willing to let them help out with Chris, and then the found-family can commence!!!

Doodle Request #32!

A little out of order (okay a lot out of order) but I really wanted to do this one because it was funny!

Small fluffball really packs a good pair of lungs to scream that loud. IT FINALLY SENT!!!

They had a bit of a chance encounter on a day where Blueblood was dealing with something that was very difficult and was so caught up in his emotions he didn’t even care that he was in the garden getting grass stans on his coat and Ditzy, with her natural impulse to cheer ponies up, didn’t even notice or care that she was flying into the palace gardens when she saw someone sat in the rain.

At first he was definitely going to call the castle guards to come apprehend this strange filly with the odd eyes who was intruding when this was the last moment he’d want to entertain any desperate debutantes, however she surprised him by not fawning or anything, not even caring about his status, just putting one of her fluffy wings up and asking if he needed somepony to lend an ear.

“Don’t let my eyes fool you, my ears work just fine!”

She was incredibly disarming and while he didn’t reveal everything about why he was upset, he found himself talking about his feelings to her. And she made such cheerful remarks, and was very comforting. In the end, he felt better and she came to check on him the next day, even sharing a blueberry muffin with him. He remarked that he’d never seen her around before, and that he wouldn’t mind terribly seeing her more often.

The rest, as they say, is history.

saying this as respectfully as possible but. Do not put fandom content creators on a pedestal. We are also just fans contributing to a community just as you are. We have boundary on our own work and that’s it. What I say is not and should not be considered sth the whole fandom should listen to. I’m just a normal ass person ranting about things on my blog. If it does not have a fandom tag for others to engage in, do not make it out to be me trying to start fights or addressing the whole community. Because it’s not.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again, my art, my lore talk, is biased. I’ve never tried to hide that I view Marika a certain way and will always develop my theory following that base assumption.

Aside from translation stuffs and pointing out in-game items, everything else I say you can look at it, agree or disagree, and move on to form your own opinions. Just because I draw stuffs doesn’t mean you get to saddle me with responsibilities about managing fandom expectations. What the hell? I’m a fan artist, I’m the last person who you should look at for “leaderism” (?) WHAT?

I can and will be a hater in my own space, like I know sometimes other artists will just post their stuffs and not engage too heavily with fandom, and for a while I did try to do that here (because I’m already a dramatic ass on twitter), that’s just not me though.

You will get art and you will get my opinions as well.
