I so appreciated that the script emphasised the “our doctor THINKS” “he THINKS” and then clearly stating that they didn’t inform Ellie that they didn’t ask her or tell her that she wouldn’t survive this. It makes it so clear exactly why it was such an easy choice for Joel to say no, you will not do this.

You know what? Joel saving Ellie was the only good option and I ALSO support him shooting everyone who dared to stand in his way. Why? Because they are the main characters. I'm ALWAYS rooting for them. No matter what heinous crime they commit.

There it is. I said it. And I don't need to make up reasons like "oh, the cure wouldn't have worked anyway" or "it would have been impossible to get the cure to everyone around the world because of logistics".

The only thing I NEED to know is that the main characters are safe (for now). That's it. There is no need to create a moral dilemma for yourself, no need to feel bad for liking Joel even though he did bad things.

People need to start treating these shows like what they are: fictional shows. I am not arguing against media literacy, intellectualism etc. It's fine to analyse media but there is absolutely NO reason why anyone should feel bad for supporting a character that you were SUPPOSED to support.

Tlou spoilers!!: Joel’s silent ruthlessness in the last part of ep 9 was chilling, the entire episode we’ve got to see him in all his dad glory and the switch between those two moods is insane. Everytime you get to see these lighter parts of Joel they snatch it away and you see how dark he can truly get. Doesn’t matter how many times I’ve played the game or watched the show it’s so easy to forget all the horrible things Joel has done and see how it haunts him then something happens that makes you remember and it’s actually quite scary. I gasped when he started talking about how he tried to kill himself, that was such a well written addition to the story. Pedro pascal has done an amazing job and I think we all know that everyone is going to collectively loose their shit when we have to watch him as Joel die. Bella Ramsey again has completely outdone themself, we couldn’t have asked for anyone better to portray Ellie, I’m so excited to see what’s in store for their future in terms of their career but also as an older version of Ellie.

The Last of Us + text posts and stuff

I've never been more sad at a show ending. one that i loved and waited for dearly week after week to bring a smile to my face. 3 months that was. when this past week hasn't been kind to me at all at that. being disabled is normal they said. as long as you keep hope for an eye donation. cause you only become normal once you can see. second chances were thrown around a lot. while forgetting they're meant for those willing to learn and repent from honest mistakes, had there been any. if i felt any better, I'd go on to write about how much i adored their wedding, mom's speech to porjai and day's bookshop. but i dont. this week has just been shitty and nothing has made it better.

Still posting, as a goodbye of sorts. I'll believe it ended at ep9. Not looking back.

my dad finally watched tlou and he called me in tears at the end of episode 9 to say “I would have done that for you too” and anyways I wasn’t looking to feel absolutely emotionally destroyed today but I guess we can’t always get what we want

Sam and Evan: need no explanation. Neither of them have confessed to each other but COME ON. whether or not you think they Should be together, there is no way at this point that danielle and brennan are unaware of what their characters are doing which is falling in love. on screen in front of us.

Sam and K: this is where it gets less obvious-- I can't remember exactly why but K in the last episode just felt so down bad to me. Even before last ep, I was starting to see a future where Evan and Sam got together and K was really fond of Sam "totally by proxy" (see K and Evan later).

Evan and Jammer: this one I struggle with if I'm being so honest, so I decided to make them struggle with it too. If you think either of them would ever know what was happening you'd be wrong in my personal opinion.

K and Evan: they're in love. I'm sorry. Not saying they're in a healthy or stable relationship but they are in fact in love. I'm part of the theory that Evan broke up with K and if you've seen his face this season he's dead in the water for them.

Jammer and Sam: he has no idea what's in his brain about Sam. I didn't put an arrow back because I don't know what she feels about him in my head so I didn't even want to make her confused.

Similarly, Jammer and K: I have no read on them. I can however see K being at least platonically into Jammer (they seemed a little too into the Weugan thing). But that's just a thought. A film thought.
