Joel’s shift to friendliness and carefreeness with Ellie in this episode did something to me, to my heart. 😭 He’d become so comfortable with her, when he started to talk about Sarah with her so easily I almost died. Lord help me

No matter how special it is, a kid's lunch is still just a kid's lunch.
I dunno, I liked "The Genius Restaurant" (Episode 1,089).
Happy (belated) birthday, Jimjam.

I so appreciated that the script emphasised the “our doctor THINKS” “he THINKS” and then clearly stating that they didn’t inform Ellie that they didn’t ask her or tell her that she wouldn’t survive this. It makes it so clear exactly why it was such an easy choice for Joel to say no, you will not do this.

I cannot listen to the magnus archives as a normal person I have to read the wiki pages of episodes I already listened to and make notes and try to guess the entities and what they do and make a file out of it
#i know there are entities because if youre on tumblr you cannot not know about them#so far i suspect three. one with the closed eye in hand that makes people do their killing. idk whats the gain or if im right but its. there#then there is one with the table. i assume its the one that makes people see visions hallucinations and dreams. gaslighting them and taking#people from their lives as if they never existed. erasing records afterwards (but not without flaws)#then there is the eye. idk what it does. idk if its connected with the books or the lightless flame. or if its literally an all seeing eye#that can mess with everything. and i also think that one can be good? like used to protect too? idk#then there is the whole worm lady which i have no idea about the entity. controlling invertebrates??#infestation definitely?#i havent made notes abt the figures that disappear in light and also about the fog? i guess. the one that makes people get lost.#or is it the graveyard#even though if i count everything ive mentioned here as seperate entities that makes 9 of them#i feel like there are 14 bc of the 14 doors in that one episode#maybe the candle one from the cave ep?#okay 4 more to go.#oh and the one that can make flesh but doesnt really know how to#how to properly humanize the flesh#3 more?#maybe that one with the old man and the keyhole that wasnt there.#dk what that is though#2 more.#idk the last ones are already far-fetched#the first three i mentioned are the ones im more certain about lol#anyway. cant wait to see how wrong or right i was! yeehaw#tma#fandom#also i feel like the sasha and gertrude were gotten by the same thing. might be wrong#if anyone is still here in my tags ive just finished 1st season

You know what? Joel saving Ellie was the only good option and I ALSO support him shooting everyone who dared to stand in his way. Why? Because they are the main characters. I'm ALWAYS rooting for them. No matter what heinous crime they commit.
There it is. I said it. And I don't need to make up reasons like "oh, the cure wouldn't have worked anyway" or "it would have been impossible to get the cure to everyone around the world because of logistics".
The only thing I NEED to know is that the main characters are safe (for now). That's it. There is no need to create a moral dilemma for yourself, no need to feel bad for liking Joel even though he did bad things.
People need to start treating these shows like what they are: fictional shows. I am not arguing against media literacy, intellectualism etc. It's fine to analyse media but there is absolutely NO reason why anyone should feel bad for supporting a character that you were SUPPOSED to support.

ASHLEY JOHNSON!! I closed my eyes and could hear Ellie it was amazing.
Also this quote:
“Ashley sounds like Ellie and Ellie sounds like Ashley,” showrunner Craig Mazin adds. “So she’s already like quasi-mythological creature to me. To see her giving birth to herself, in a sense, and to create that genetic connection between her performance as Ellie and the origin story of Bella Ramsey as Ellie was just profound.”
(From this article if anyone is interested)

THE SHOT OF THE DOCTOR.
The fact that they are able to make shots like this happen instead of moving onto gameplay? UGH.
I shrieked and held my head in my hands. My mom asked me, “What? What?”
And I said, “That doctor. That shot was held for 5 seconds. That’s important. That’s gonna come back and bite us in the ASS.”
Note: I’ve played the game. I know. I’m just shook that it’s now here for the endgame. I didn’t want it to be here and now it’s HERE and GODDDD—

I've never been more sad at a show ending. one that i loved and waited for dearly week after week to bring a smile to my face. 3 months that was. when this past week hasn't been kind to me at all at that. being disabled is normal they said. as long as you keep hope for an eye donation. cause you only become normal once you can see. second chances were thrown around a lot. while forgetting they're meant for those willing to learn and repent from honest mistakes, had there been any. if i felt any better, I'd go on to write about how much i adored their wedding, mom's speech to porjai and day's bookshop. but i dont. this week has just been shitty and nothing has made it better.
Still posting, as a goodbye of sorts. I'll believe it ended at ep9. Not looking back.

Tumblr media
is this anything? (details/analysis under cut)
(closeups have more extensive ids)
EDIT: this is now outdated and made post ep 9 i believe!
UPDATED VERSION POST FINALE HERE:
Tumblr media
Sam and Evan: need no explanation. Neither of them have confessed to each other but COME ON. whether or not you think they Should be together, there is no way at this point that danielle and brennan are unaware of what their characters are doing which is falling in love. on screen in front of us.
Tumblr media
Sam and K: this is where it gets less obvious-- I can't remember exactly why but K in the last episode just felt so down bad to me. Even before last ep, I was starting to see a future where Evan and Sam got together and K was really fond of Sam "totally by proxy" (see K and Evan later).
Tumblr media
Evan and Jammer: this one I struggle with if I'm being so honest, so I decided to make them struggle with it too. If you think either of them would ever know what was happening you'd be wrong in my personal opinion.
Tumblr media
K and Evan: they're in love. I'm sorry. Not saying they're in a healthy or stable relationship but they are in fact in love. I'm part of the theory that Evan broke up with K and if you've seen his face this season he's dead in the water for them.
Jammer and Sam: he has no idea what's in his brain about Sam. I didn't put an arrow back because I don't know what she feels about him in my head so I didn't even want to make her confused.
Similarly, Jammer and K: I have no read on them. I can however see K being at least platonically into Jammer (they seemed a little too into the Weugan thing). But that's just a thought. A film thought.
That's it! This is all in good fun :) lmk your thoughts if you'd like!

Symbol of Love— Rafe Cameron x Pogue!Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary— based off sofia and rafe’s cute moment in s4 ep 9 so slight spoilers. rafe is on mission to catch groff and he gives you something to treasure before he leaves.
warnings— spoilers, fluff, mentions of death.
a/n— saw the scene and immediately decided to write this, my heart is melting omg ugh that should be me and him. these new batch of episodes have been such a roller coaster, can’t wait to finish and see how everything plays out <3
Rafe’s hands were tense as walked around the sand, jaw tight as he tried to process what he’d just learned. Chandler Groff had stolen his money, and he boated off the island. You leaned against the tree, eyes wide as you tried to absorb the news. Hollis’ death had hit you harder than you let on, and whispers were circulating that JJ Maybank might have been involved. Nothing felt certain anymore, but what you did know was that Rafe had always been the one constant—until now.
“Okay, but listen,” Rafe said, his voice sharp and urgent. “Unless I catch up with Groff now, that money is long gone.”
“Where is he, Rafe?” you asked, your heart pounding. You didn’t want him to go, especially not alone, but you knew you couldn’t stop him.
“Don’t worry about it,” he muttered, his gaze fixed somewhere past you. “I’ll track him down. I’ll get it all back.” There was a steely resolve in his voice, a familiar determination that reminded you of just how far he would go to keep what was his.
But before he could take off, he turned to you, his eyes softening just and took a deep breath. “I want to say something first.”
You opened your mouth, the confession about Hollis and everything that happened burning on your tongue. “Rafe, I- I need to tell you something too.”
Before you could finish, he startled you by dropping to one knee, pulling out a beautiful ring from his pocket. Your heart skipped a beat, and suddenly you felt like the world was spinning.
He held it up to you, his gaze never leaving yours. “It was my mom’s,” he said softly, his voice breaking just slightly. “Been in my family forever. I know it’s some kook bullshit, but I just- I wanted you to have it before I left. So you’d know this, us- we’re real.”
“Rafe, wait,” you whispered, your voice trembling. “I- I did something. It’s about Hollis. There’s more I didn’t tell you—”
He cut you off, shaking his head and cupping your cheek, his thumb brushing your skin. “Don’t. There’s things about me you don’t know. And trust me, they’re way worse than anything you could say. I don’t care what you did, and I don’t care to know.” His voice softened, but his eyes stayed intense. “I want you, and that’s all that matters to me.”
You could barely breathe, tears leaving your eyes and he slipped the ring on your finger, his eyes pleading.
You were crying now, overwhelmed by the depth of his acceptance. You could feel his hands tremble as he slid the ring onto your finger. “Say yes,” he murmured, his voice rough with emotion. “There’s no more pogue bullshit, okay? No more of that. I want you to quit that job and move in with me.”
The weight of his words settled over you like a promise, and you nodded, barely able to find your voice. “Yes, Rafe.”
He smiled, relief flooding his face as he pulled you into a kiss, his hands cradling your face as if you were something fragile he had to hold onto. You kissed him back, fingers curling into his jacket, your tears mixing with his warmth.
When you pulled away, he pressed a key into your palm, closing your fingers over it. “It’s to the house. I’ll be back in a few weeks. Stay there for me, okay? At my—no, our place.”
He brushed a kiss across your forehead, and whispered, “I love you.”
“I love you too.” And with one last look, he turned, walking toward his boat as you watched him go.
The salty breeze whipped around you, and you looked down at the ring, feeling a bittersweet ache settle in your chest. It was beautiful and strange, the symbol of a life you were about to share with him, a life you’d always dreamed of. You traced the ring with your thumb, marveling at its age, its history, a part of him that would stay with you even as he left.
Tears blurred your vision as he boarded the boat, but you stood there, rooted, until he was nothing but a speck on the horizon, clutching the key and the promise he’d left behind.
As you watched Rafe disappear over the horizon, a wave of fear washed over you, heavier than the ocean air around you. You knew how dangerous Groff could be, how far he was willing to go to keep what he’d stolen. And now, Rafe was chasing him down. Your heart twisted, the thought of something happening to him tugging at every corner of your mind. But then you shook yourself, forcing the doubt back. Rafe was tough, stronger than anyone you knew. He could handle himself. He’d be okay.
He’d come back.
You took a deep breath, letting the thought settle over you like a warm blanket. He’d come back, and when he did, you’d spend the rest of your lives together. There would be reward, there would be sunshine after the storm. Your love, this wild, all-consuming love, could survive anything. It had to. Everything was going to be okay.
You glanced down at the ring he’d placed on your finger, feeling its weight, its history pressing against your skin like a quiet promise. Your fingers tightened around the key in your other hand, holding onto it as if it could anchor you to this moment, to him. This key was a piece of him, a piece of your future together, the home you’d share, the life you’d build once he returned.
With one last look out at the horizon, you whispered a silent promise of your own. Then you turned back holding the ring and the key close to your heart, holding onto the hope that soon, he’d be back in your arms.
