Anyway time to talk about the 6x03 poem:

As many others have speculated judging by the map, Captain Skall made her way to Hook named after her, and then "as east she sailed into waters so deadly and cold" in the Frozen Shards, her ship eventually being stuck and meeting her doom there.

With that out of the way, I want to talk about other pieces of info, why this might be the poem for 6x03 specifically, and where I think Skall may fit timeline wise:

"From the isles without name" makes me think of the Independent Isles in between Evenere and Katolis.

"sailing north, she called herself free" makes me feel feral with Callum (and Rayla) doing the same in hopes of freeing Callum from Aaravos' grasp by destroying the prison

"Through forests and flowers, past the uneven towers" clearly symbolizes Katolis, indicating that Skall lived once most of the human kingdoms had been established, and thereby post-Exile/Exodus.

"Skall hungered for glory, she wanted a story / they’d tell it long after she died". Routinely we see a desire for glory / worthiness / power described as hunger ("Hungry for knowledge and power" / "But that small taste left some humans hungry—starved, even—for a better path. An easier path. And thus Elarion became the birthplace of a new form of magic, a shortcut to primal power: dark magic"). This also comes into seeking a legacy.

"So with winter wind’s blowing / she sailed north, forgoing / a man who’d have made her his bride". This is where we see the poem take a more negative slant in a few ways. The first is winter, wind, and north, setting up a future unfortunate turn of events. This is also the first mention of Skall having something else in her life other than adventure and something she had to subsequently abandon. While the end of the poem is much more on her side of feelings, "forgoing" does mean "renouncing; sacrificing or giving up" something that is more positive.

"Alone in the cold, yet ever so bold" again adds to the more negative feeling the poem is building, as boldness is in the contrast with "alone in the cold" that's overall negative and maintaining a bit more of an upkeep. Likewise, we see the return of the wind with an even more negative connotation in wailing in the following stanza: "And oh, winter wailed / as east she sailed / into waters so deadly and cold". We see the return of cold but also the change into things being 'deadly' (although there were still hints of danger earlier, as 'bold' indicates).

"Then came the ice, and trapped in its vise" The cold finally catches up to her, and we see ice return as a form of entrapment (2x06, 3x08, 3x09, 5x04, 5x06, 5x08). Most interestingly, "vise" is a tool with closable jaws for clamping things. Maybe the ice is magical, or the jaw of a great (the dragon we've seen in the trailer) creature?

"And while she found peace / she wished that, at least / she’d told him she loved him, always". While the poem ends on a somewhat bittersweet end (at death but at peace), we do see that Skall died with a final regret to the man she could've wed but left instead.

Or you could say, a last wish.

Either way, the poem paints a rather grim journey: going North didn't hold the same freedom and achievements that Skall hoped for, and instead led to entrapment, separation, and death.

That said: there's a few Rayllum-y things I think we can glean from this poem, for starters:

1) The episode will likely have a strong focus on Callum and Rayla sailing to and/or through the Frozen Sea on whatever ship they're planning to use to get there. This leaves 6x02 "Love, War, and Mushrooms" more open to either explore other plot lines or another pit stop in their journey (like say, the Silvergrove)

2) The poem itself has pretty clear Rayllum parallels, specifically in TDP's continual gender subversion of the women who puts other things above her romantic relationship, even if it's likewise seen as a sacrifice. Rayla left Callum in order to protect him/the world from Viren, even if that meant damaging their relationship, and Skall puts her desire for glory and adventure over presumably a more settled married life at home. (Excuse me while I scream over "forgoing a man who'd have made her his bride.")

3) The poem likewise has some parallels to Rayla's "Dear Callum" letter specifically. There are wishes expressed of the leaving party, a desire to have made feelings more plain that Callum reiterates in 5x04 when they think they're about to die ("I hope you know—" "I know"), and most notably, a parallel to the always mention:

she wished that, at least she’d told him she loved him, always.

But, if it does—if you feel that soft aching—know that that piece of your heart isn’t missing. It’s not missing at all, Callum: I’m carrying it with me! Always. I love you. I love you so much.

4) All this bodes quite well for 6x03 being an episode with a big Rayllum moment in it — perhaps even their Big "You Finally Came Back" Talk — especially since there's not much else to (presumably) happen on a ship if they're just travelling somewhere (and not being pursued this time).

Episode Speculation (a summary / misc thoughts)

They reach the other end of the Frozen Sea

Maybe fight the big dragon from the video game teaser we see with Rayla (like Skall, she has literal hooks = blades) whose guarding or in their way to the Starscraper? Could account for the jaws and maybe the ice

One of them is worried and/or has a moment of thinking the other person is hurt/injured bc of said dragon fight?

Maybe some Aaravos backstory in his lost love (although like I said, I don't think it's Skall exactly — I still think the likeliest names are Elara-adjacent or Kalik)

Evil Like Me

Plot: Y/N gives Sky a choice. Embrace his dark side, or remain imprisoned forever. What will he choose to do?

A/N: Just channeling my inner Katherine Pierce, lol. Based on the elements of the episode 3x08 Dark Sky. I also grew up on the 4kids version of Winx, so that's why he's called Baltor, instead of Valtor.

Y/N walked down a dark corridor. He had one place in mind, as he walked down the hall towards the last door in front of him. He opened the wooden door and walked inside, and traveled down a flight of concrete steps, next to a stone wall. He walked down to the end of the steps, then towards another room that had cages, cells, and chains dangling just above the floor.

He was here to visit his favorite prisoner. His only prisoner. Said prisoner's hair was stuck to his forehead. He had no shirt on, so his bare chest was out for all to see. His hands were bound by chains from the ceiling, but his feet touched the ground. When he met Y/N’s eyes, he saw a wild and maybe just a hint of fear. Y/N smirked.

“You know, I had a sex dream like this once,” Y/N said. “You were in chains just like this, only now it's a reality instead of a wet dream.”

The prince looked at Y/N, a pleading look in his eyes. “Y/N, please. Please let me go.”

“You know that I can't do that, princey. Lord Darkar and Baltor will kill you the moment they lay eyes on you. You're much safer here with me.” Y/N walked behind Sky, trailing a hand down his back. The Specialist shivered against his touch.

“W-Why save me from them, just to lock me up? Do you hate me that much?” Sky asked, confused. If Y/N was truly evil, like the evil wizard and Shadow Phoenix, then why save him?

Y/N walked in front of him and stared at the Prince. “I don't hate you, Sky. As hard as it is to believe, I still care about you. Good or Evil, you intrigue me,” the Ice Fairy said. “The only reason why Darkar and Baltor made me like them was that they have pervy little thoughts about me.” Y/N smirked.

“Darkar is hot. In a DILF kind of way. And Baltor is a sexy wizard with strawberry-blonde hair and striking blue eyes, but I prefer something a little sweeter.” Y/N eyed Sky.

“Something tells me that’s why you came down here,” Sky told him. “You want something, right?”

“Pretty and smart. Look at you,” Y/N said, with mock congratulations. “Do you remember when you invited me to Eraklyon? You were gonna tell your entire kingdom that you loved me, but Diaspro put you under her spell and you called me a witch and tried to kill me, remember?”

Y/N grinned as Sky hung his head in guilt at the mention of that. Y/N had told Sky what happened after they had broken the evil spell over him. How he had chased Y/N with dragons and tried to stab him with his sword. “Y/N, I'm sorry about that. I never meant–would never hurt–”

“–Never would hurt me?” Y/N asked.

Sky nodded his head.

“Oh, I know you wouldn't, but your evil side would. Y/N looked at Sky in the eyes. “I want you to be that way once again.”

Sky’s eyes widened in shock. “What?! Are you crazy?!”

“Oh, come on. You were so much more fun when you were trying to end my life. Sexier too. Like an angry top,” Y/N chuckled.

“I was a monster, Y/N. You don't really want me like that, do you?”

Y/N nodded his head. “Yes, I do. I need someone strong by my side to help me kill both Darkar and Baltor and I'll rip their hearts from their chests.”

“Here's my deal. I'll free you from your shackles and you'll live with me above ground instead of this dreary place. I have the spell to bring out your inner darkness,” Y/N said. “Refuse, and I'll leave you down here until you're ready to comply. Your choice, Blue Eyes.”

Sky wasn't sure what shocked him more. Y/N’s deal about turning back into that dark version of himself, ‘Dark Sky.’ Or that fact that Y/N called Sky his nickname, the one he gave him on the first day of school at Alfea. Y/N could see the gears turning in Sky’s head. He was wrestling with his choice. Light vs Dark. Good vs Evil.

Sky looked at Y/N, his piercing baby blues so full of life and mystery that Y/N lost his concentration for a moment. He quickly recovered. “So, what’s your decision? I haven’t got all day.”

“I’m sorry, Y/N, but I can’t.”

“I knew it,” Y/N said. He knew he’d never choose the darkness. He was good and pure. Y/N turned to leave back up the stairs. “I’ll come back in a week, and see how no food or water makes you feel,” he called over his shoulder.

“I can’t live my life without you in it.,” Sky’s voice echoed around the hallowed space. Y/N turned back and around, unsure if he heard correctly.

“What did you say?” Sky licked his dry lips as he looked at his boyfriend and said. “I can’t live without you, Y/N. If embracing my dark side means we can be together, then I’ll happily accept your deal.”

Y/N eyed the prince suspiciously. “What’s the catch?”

“No catch. Just… Promise me we’ll be together.”

Y/N couldn’t believe it. Sky would become evil if it meant that they get to stay together. For a moment. Just a moment, he felt his icy walls melt. The old Y/N was touched by Sky’s love for him. His sacrifice. Then it was gone, as he shook his head of those kinds of thoughts.

“Alright. Let’s get this over with then shall we?” Y/N walked up to Sky; he leaned up towards Sky’s face, never breaking eye contact with him. He hovered just above his lips, giving him the chance to back out of this. He owned him that much. Sky looked at him, a few tears cascaded down his face. “I love you, Y/N. I will love you until my final breath and I know our love will set us free from this darkness one day.”

Y/N could feel Sky’s warm words chip away at his icy heart. He whispered the word: “Tenebrae.” He connected his lips to Sky’s as a purple mist entered Sky’s mouth and traveled up until his eyes flashed purple as he continued to kiss Y/N, his thoughts of light and goodness suddenly becoming clouded by darkness.

Y/N pulled away from Sky, who looked at him with such hate and scornfulness. “You, witch!! Unhand me this instant,” Sky demanded.

Y/N waved his hand, and the chains disappeared and Sky fell to his knees. Y/N looked down at the now dark prince, who looked at him with such disdain. “I know you hate me, but I can help you.” He offered the prince a hand. Sky slapped his hand away with his own as he rose to his full height, towering over Y/N. “Give me one good reason why I shouldn't end your miserable life right now?”

“Because you and I share a common enemy.”

“Oh, and who might that be?” Sky glared at the Ice Fairy.

“Lord Darkar, and Baltor,” Y/N told him.

“Those evil sorcerers? What threat do they impose on me, Prince of Eraklyon?”

“They will not hesitate to take over your kingdom and take all the magic your realm has,” Y/N told him. “Or maybe they'll come after a certain fiance of yours: Diaspro.”

“None shall hurt my beloved fiance,” Sky said. He eyed Y/N for a moment before he sighed. “Okay, witch, I'll work with you… For now. After that, I'll hunt you down like the evil bloody bastard you are.”

“Fair enough.”

Sky nodded his head. “Good. Now get me out of this ghastly place and into some proper clothes.”

“Right this way…” Y/N said, as Sky passed him and walked up the stairs. “... Blue Eyes,” Y/N said, a warm feeling in his stomach as he smiled.

hey all I’m not sure if I am still a writer- the rust on these muscles approaches 7 layers... much like a Taco Bell burrito, nothing but crap and regrets!

However- nothing stays the same, the universe moves toward entropy, so I’m keeping the lights on.

for richer or for poorer- I’m still invested in my big bang follow ups, sorry I’m so slow, but Michael is grieving Alex in a pod, and fixing the house. And 4x01 gave me some feelings about that, lol.

last years wishes one-shots - I’m still into it, I love that story, I honestly think it was someone else who wrote it some days lol - a total out of body experience and I am beyond insane over the fact it just hit the 900 kudo mark.
