The Kingdom Vistaria, is the most powerful and respected kingdom as it holds the most dangerous and feared creatures in its abyss; oddly enough unharmed, tamed and loved by the Queen of Vistaria, whilst being intimated by the King.
Somehow, Greymorr had planted a curse that destroyed the barrier the king and queen created that safely separated the creatures of the Abyss from the general lives in the society of Vistaria. Not only did this free the monsters of the Abyss, but it altered their understanding and connection to the kingdom making them go rogue, destroying anything in their path.
Luckily, he wasn't able to control them into obeying his orders and instead went against anything that tried to assert order onto them. Even the Vistarian Royal couple. At this point, Diana was 15 years old and the king and Queen sent their daughter to the second closest Planet to them, Earth, with her pearl pendant protected by a positively cursed locket. She needs to find the other princesses on Eath to help her get more powerful and return back to Vistaria and defeat Greymorr.

me ranting about what i need to see in season 3
(yeah, it's pretty long)
The important/plot twists/character development
Iris and Praxina being the focal points of the season
Remember, Praxina was created to be an anti-Iris, so there’s no better season than this one to explore that.
Main conflict: Praxina is convinced Iris is responsible for Mephisto’s death (Iris didn’t kill Mephisto, it was a culmination of events that led to it, but Praxina needs a scapegoat, someone to dump her anger and grief on, because she can’t cope with loss in a healthy, non-destructive way). So, she is set on making Iris lose the people she cares about (Nathaniel, and also probably her friends), to make her feel the way she does.
The vision I have for these two in season 3 is that their actions will be correlated, each making the other do unspeakable things over accumulated resentment and hurt and grief, in a vicious cycle. Then somewhat meet in the middle at the end. Maybe…
Iris becoming more and more paranoid
Iris getting nervous everytime she sees a butterfly, for example. Very worried that she’s going to lose Nathaniel, her friends, her parents, or Ellira, at any moment. Makes her sometimes not be very rational.
Maybe it will affect her relationship with Nathaniel too. Maybe she’ll think that in order to keep him safe from Praxina, she has to distance herself from him.
BECAUSE I WANT THIS GIRL TO GET SOME ARC TOO. Allow her to be angry, do questionable things, be flawed, be scared.
Guilt over Mephisto’s death
This one is for both Iris and Praxina.
Because while Iris doesn’t have much to do with Mephisto’s death, I don’t doubt that part of her will start doubting it, wondering if everything that’s happening is, in fact, her fault.
And Praxina, who didn’t appreciate her brother while he was right there next to her, finally realizing how much she actually needed him. You know what they say, you only truly appreciate someone after you lose them. AND THE GUILT-
More interactions between Iris and her parents
I just really really want this. And to learn more about the King and Queen of Ephedia. Because it has so much potential for added inner conflict inside Iris’ head.
Because if you really think about it, the King and Queen of Ephedia are just strangers to her, who just so happened to be her birth parents. But weren’t the ones who raised her, who were there for her her whole life. Ellira was.
Not that it’s their fault. Not at all. They made a sacrifice to keep her safe. I know they would’ve done anything to see their little girl grow up. And Iris knows this, and I think, for a while, she’s going to feel a bit guilty for seeing Ellira as more of a parental figure than them.
Also, I feel like Iris’ parents would never resent Ellira for this, but I do think they will be a little hurt.
Iris attempting and failing to balance her Earth life with her Ephidean one
Because she will definitely be going back and forth between the two worlds, trying to keep everything balanced. Her social life with her friends on Earth, her relationship with Nathaniel, the band, her princess duties, the rebuilding of Ephedia, royal ceremonies, etc…
And if she had trouble before, I can’t imagine now.
Iris not being sure if she wants to become the future queen of Ephidea
Let’s face it. It was all really pretty and fun while they had the goal to defeat Gramorr and free Ephidea. No need to think about what would happen next, because even that was a big “if”.
Now, Iris is finally gonna have to come to terms with the fact that she is THE future heir to the throne, But is she even fit to lead a whole kingdom? Does she even want to? Won’t that mean she’ll have to leave her Earth life behind? Nathaniel?
The King and Queen not approving of Iris’ relationship with Nathaniel
Not because they dislike him, or simply because he is human (they don’t seem like that kind of people), but because they want to protect their daughter from getting hurt. Not from him. But from having to inevitably let him go eventually. Again, she is the future queen. She has responsibilities on Ephidea, not on Earth.
Also, there’s this whole question line of “do ephideans live longer than earthlings?”. Because I feel like that's also relevant to this point.
Praxina slowly descending into madness (bonus points if physical corruption)
Her madness trip should be a linear thing, getting worse and worse each episode.
More towards the end PLEASE fuck up her face a bit. Not necessarily permanently but like- I wanna see this girl with one side of her face corrupted with dark magic (we saw Gramorr underneath the mask), eyes red, going full eldritch abomination mode.
Her crying while laughing hysterically and maniacally AT LEAST ONCE please please.
Also, not to be that person, but she’s gonna be so hot that season, istg I’m not prepared.
What the fuck is up with those butterflies?????
Imma be real rn. I’m begging for the creators NOT to pull a Hawkmoth on Praxina. Let the butterflies be spies only, there’s no need for much else. If they make the butterflies mind control people, I'm gonna lose it. This isn’t miraculous 2.0.
Iris’ Shanilla form going batshit on Praxina/Big Final Battle
Because if Praxina does manage to kill someone or several people Iris loves, even if only temporarily (yall know this show is for kids, no one's dying permanently - though it would be cool to see a darker narrative), Iris is gonna lose it, and I expect a full dark shanilla mode. Going absolutely off the rails on Praxina, and then having an “oh shit, what am I doing?” moment.
Banes being shady and the true mastermind aka Final Boss
I want to see the build up to this, how he stays in Praxina’s shadow and “helps” her, making her feel like she’s in control, when she’s not.
And I fully believe Banes had his eye on her even before Gramorr was defeated. Not long before, but when there was only one gem left to complete the crown of Ephedia, and he started to suspect Gramorr’s chances at winning were slim, he definitely started to plot his next “puppet”.
Zenavion/Banes?????
Zenavion was mentioned once, but whyyyy??? My guess is that Banes is Zenavion. Or belonged to Zenavion/was his creation. But I’m leaning more towards the first one. Maybe he got himself turned into an entity of dark magic after years of meddling with power he shouldn’t have, leaving him stuck in that feline form with only a fraction of the power he once had? Sounds super interesting and would make for a great Final Boss.
What is his goal? Maybe to return to his full power and autonomy? Maybe he needed the power of the crown of Ephedia for that.
That would explain why he picked Gramorr, who was in the same circles as the royal family, at the time.
Also Praxina blaming Iris, the princess of Ephedia, and future heir to the throne, for her brother’s death, and blaming her for it? Also very convenient that she was a young girl who had just lost her only support, and was completely alone and vulnerable. Easy to manipulate.
Gramorr’s backstory
I need it. For someone who was the main villain for two whole seasons, he sure got no depth at all. Which was kinda disappointing. Hope this season clears everything up.
Perhaps Banes manipulated him and he never realized it? What were his initial motivations? His past? Also what was the deal with him and the royal family? With Morgane? I bet all those people have a lot to say and explain about him.
The mask
I’m sure Zenavion created it, centuries ago. I want to know how it works, how much it controls the user, how fast it corrupts them, why it was created in the first place, and how it ended up in Gramorr’s hands in the first place.
Also wouldn’t it be so cool if the current user of the mask had access to the memories of the previous users??? That way we could get Gramorr’s backstory through Praxina, like YES.
The yellow gem thingie????
The gem in Gramorr’s hand that was pierced by Iris in the finale, is now on Praxina’s chest. Do with that information what you will.
Big Betrayal moment between Banes and Praxina
Gramorr/Praxina parallels
Cause it’s inevitably gonna happen. Maybe he promises her a way to bring Mephisto back. But it’s all a ploy to get her to do horrible things for him, to allow him to return to his true form, and has nothing to do with Mephisto.
Girl is gonna be played big time.
Because now they’re kinda connected, with Praxina being manipulated by Banes the same way Gramorr probably was, in the past. And both ultimately got betrayed by him.
Praxina getting a long deserved reality-check
Because as much as I love her, she needs someone to spew some hard truths on her. It IS her fault. She IS a bad person, and a bad sister. And in order to get redeemed, she needs to confront that.
Izira’s medallion????
Anyone remember how the one object with immense power and the ability to TURN BACK TIME literally fell down a cliff during the final battle with Gramorr? Because I sure do.
And this could be a super irrelevant thing, but I do think it’s interesting that it fell in roughly the same place where Mephisto would have (hypothetically wink wink).
Don’t know what they’d do with this necessarily, but it has the potential to be a very important plot point.
Mephisto being alive (duhhhh)
As long as it’s not shown from the beginning. I feel like Praxina’s whole arc would be much more satisfactory if he was only revealed to be alive, halfway through the season or later, in the very end. Note that when I say “revealed to be alive”, I mean, to us, the people watching the show, not to Praxina. She should only know this at the end of the season. For the plot.
Mephisto donning the scars and maybe some type of disfiguration on the side of his body that took the blast. It would make sense for him to be able to teleport, but the half of his body that was leaning more towards the energy source took most of the blow).
Mephisto having his own mini character arc, away from the main conflict
He probably needs to heal from the blast, and that would be hard for him, both physically and mentally. If part of his face/body gets “burned” by the blast, my boy is definitely not gonna take it like a champ at first.
Also, I’ve said this before, but I don’t think he’d go look for Praxina immediately after he’s doing better. Not because he doesn’t care about her, or doesn’t miss her, but because he thinks she doesn’t need him and is better off without him.
Iris (finally) telling Nathaniel the truth
I’d like to see him struggle with something like this, maybe meet some new characters and form connections with other people. It’s a great opportunity for him to mature and learn who he really is, outside of Gramorr’s or his sister’s shadow. An opportunity to atone for his mistakes, and make up for it. He was, and a lot of people forget, a war criminal.
Sibling reunion
I want tears and a proper hug, and Praxina completely falling apart. Bonus points if she doesnt want to believe it's actually him at first, because that would be too good to be true. They're both fucked up, both physically and mentally, but they're together at last.
And him NOT forgetting it right afterwards.
Everything that is important but isn’t necessary for the plot
THE TWINS’ BACKSTORY
We all know this is the one thing that actually matters. And I will lose my shit when it does.
Gimme them happy flashbacks followed by the deadly pain.
And this needs to be a WHOLE episode worth of flashbacks. Like a whole flashback episode. They deserve that much.
Also who the hell is Pappy?
Mephisto’s staff!!!
Unimportant but uhh, if it’s so powerful, a lot could be done with it. And it’s probably still in the cave hideout. Praxina could get her hands on it.
Also how did he get it in the first place?
Explanation of the magic system
Worldbuilding/Ephidea lore
I want this so badly. I wanna meet more kingdoms, see how they look, what other colors represent them, the cultures, the people, etc…
I’m a sucker for this, and no one can deny that they got confused as fuck when the supposed “voice-based” powers, only actually matter in the first episode and then got dropped completely. Yeah, I know, the writers probably forgot. But please just make up a convenient connection to fill in that plot hole. This show needs to fix these damn plot holes.
Ephidea still very much being in shambles, and in need of rebuilding
Cause it can’t be that easy to put a whole planet back on track after a 15+ year old war, neither physically nor politically.
I wanna see meetings between all kingdom leaders, discussions on how to proceed, the release of war prisoners, etc…
Oh, and the imprisonment and persecution of any of Gramorr’s former associates.
Backstory on how Talia and Auriana first met
I need it. And also an explanation on why they were the ones chosen to go to Earth, and find and train Iris, and WHO chose them for that mission exactly.
Also, how did they even know Iris was on Earth? Fix these plot holes fr.
More of Auriana’s family
HELL YEAH 32 SISTERS. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT, CHARACTER DESIGNERS.
No, because I really need to meet them, and see what their dynamic is like. Also more of Jodan please. And their parents.
Also, the 34 children cannot be all fully blood related, can they? CAN THEY?
What happened to Talia’s parents?
We haven’t seen them ever, so I’m assuming they’re dead.
More Izira
I just need more of her in general.
Also, she’s the heir to the throne of Xeris, and if her parents are dead, she is gonna have to fill it.
I fully expect an Izira coronation episode. Just imagine, new outfits for everyone.
The less important/cameos/things i wanna see just for funsies
New daily outfits
And I mean this in a “completely drop the old ones” kinda way. Not because I don’t like them, but because I feel that, with all that’s changing in the show, now that the same formulaic plot has finally broken, the outfits should also change. To indicate a new era of sorts.
New songs/new concert outfits, etc…
Me like it.
Talia’s ghost powers
They just dropped this plot point like; whatt????
I just want a little more light in this. Some Talia backstory as well, because we know she was bullied for it when she was a kid.
Also, I wanna meet the only other princess with this ability.
Have Talia and Praxina met before the start of the show???
It’s been pointed out several times that Praxina seems to know an awful lot about Xeris, and even possesses some Xerian artifacts and scrolls. Why and how did she get her hands on it? And it would make sense if Mephisto also seemed to know these things, but he doesn’t.
Also, they seem to have some underlying tension. Which could be simply because- well, they’re on opposite sides and hate each other?? Would be perfectly plausible. Or maybe they’ve met each other before. How and when? I wouldn’t know.
A musical episode???
Because wdym you have all these talented voice actors that sang in My Little Pony, and fucking BARBIE (don’t forget Praxina IS Barbie. They have the same voice actress), and never once have we heard ANY of them sing with their actual voices.
Also it would be so fun for a change. Please, just one, I’m begging you.
A little more of Carissa and Lyna
Hear me? A little. Not a lot.
I know a lot of people love them, and so do I, but I really don’t want them to join the gang permanently. Definitely not join the band. This ain’t winx club.
Jk, but actually I’m not.
Still, I do want to learn a bit more about them, some backstory insights, their families, how they met each other, etc…
What happened to Lev?
Is he actually dead? Or did he manage to escape and joined the resistance? I just need some confirmation.
Because if he is alive, he’s gonna be helping rebuild Ephidea for sure. It's gonna be interesting to see the dynamic he’s gonna have with Iris, in this scenario.
But just like with Lyna and Carissa, to me, personally, he is not a priority.
I would love for these characters to be explored more if there was a fourth season, but I just feel like, in season 3, there are just so many more important things to touch upon, and so many new things happening, that too many unnecessary details would make it lose impact.
A “Raffle Daffle” twins’ cameo
Just a small one. For funsies. They kinda just disappeared after that one episode (and thank god for that, because I hated them)
Kyle (blergh)
Please make him disappear. Or at least end things between them. Or end whatever there is between them. I’m not even asking for a big dramatic moment, just a “oh, this isn’t gonna work out” blah blah blah.
Or, you know, just him not showing up at all and everyone forgetting about him.

Theory and headcanons about Mephisto and Praxina origin!!
We all know they're grandchildren of court jester in Ephedia and theory that one of their parents is or was also court jester is definetely my favorite.
Tumblr media
–We can see they both have big knowledge about Ephedia kingdom. In "Home pt.1" when Mephisto was going to through the portal leading to the castle in Ephedia he said he's going home and the most interesting thing of all is Praxina who is able to wield Iris' necklace and even know how to use it good. So I think they're next court jesters in Ephedia kingdom
–Another thing I noticed is importance of cobra's symbol. Mephisto has it a lot. On his uniform and his gloves. But this are not the only things with cobra symbol. The staff Mephisto got from probably his grandfather forms the shape of a cobra.
Tumblr media
But he also had his spell book which also can belong to twins' family. Let's see Gramorr didn't know about her the same as Praxina who also didn't know about the staff.
Tumblr media
There is also a cobra.
Based on this, I theorized that the sign of the cobra is court jesters symbol. I did a research about court jesters in royal families and I read they all had symbol which helped to recognize them. Maybe cobra sign is symbol of court jesters in male line and butterfly (or moth?) is symbol of female line?
–Don't forget about Mephisto and Praxina skills. In royal families jesters were shared on two types if I can call this this way. The first ones were mentally disabled people who were humiliated by the nobility and the second ones were smart and educated people who were by the king/queen side to mainly played an entertainment role such as singing, tricks, dancing, theatre, joking and stuff but also help and advise king/queen. Their acrobatic skills such as back flips, somersaults (Praxina) and professional dancing (Praxina) may indicate their upcoming position.
We can also see in "If you can't beat them" that Mephisto juggling.
Tumblr media
They definetely had artistic performances past based on this.
–Praxina seems to be annoy or offend by her position. I read that most of court jesters weren't treated well on royal court no matter what position or education they had. That can explain Praxina's hatred and grudge to princesses especially Iris (what combines my belief that they are future jesters in Ephedia kingdom). Praxina also she expressed her dislike for wealth or rich people by calling it tacky (tacky in Polish dubbing, idk how it is English or French).
So yeah. That's my favorite theory about their origin;)

The World and Lore of Hermit Heroes P.1
LOOOOOORRRRREEEE.
Sorry, had to get that out of my system for the Empires SMP peeps. Now, to note, I am mixing lore of several different TV shows and their worlds together so some things will be changed and messed with. I am a stickler for canon so this will be minimal but there is some stuff here and there that will be changed to fit the world.
I'll also add links to anything that might need further reading. Bits of lore that relate to a specific show will be color-coded to make it easy for anyone unfamiliar with the series to know what show it links to. In events where the majority of the text is lore-linked, only hyperlinks will be colored since otherwise it'd be a massive wall of text with one color and that's hard on the eyes after some time. Repeated mentions of the same thing will only be color-coded once, otherwise every mention of something like "Ephedia" would be colored and that might get annoying (it certainly did for me).
KEY: LoliRock Lore | Mysticons Lore | Miraculous Ladybug Lore | Winx Club Lore | Sailor Moon Lore
Parts of this Series
Part 1 (Empire of Ephedia, Creation of the Mysticons, Fall of Ephedia) - YOU ARE HERE
Part 2 (The Miracles & Creation of The Miraculouses, The First Sign of The Listeners) - Here
Part 3 (Empires SMP S1, Formation of Sirenix, The Sirenix Quest, The Solar Soldiers of Mezalea, Fall of the Empires) - Here
Part 4 (Fairies & Witches, Fairy Forms and Witch Forms) - Here
Part 5 (Current Time) - Here
Empire of Ephedia
So, let's start at the beginning with the Empire of Ephedia. This empire used to span the massive world of Empires SMP S1 from end to end. It was closed off, hiding away from the world. It was comprised of several smaller empires, the capital one being the kingdom of Gemima and it's capital of Drake City. Ephedia is where Crystal Magic was born, the magic type innate to every citizen born of Ephedia. Because of this, all Ephedians, young and old were capable of casting this magic and because it was so vital to their very existences, they would experience many side effects of the power such as longer lifespans upwards of 300 years, slower aging once grown and changes to appearance. Hair would change color while in the presence of Ephedian magic, becoming colorful and shiny with white magic.
While every citizen was able to use Crystal Magic, it was women who were strongest and most able to do so. This made Ephedia a strict queen-monarchy with a Queen reigning as the supreme ruler of Ephedia's empire whereas smaller empires had either a king or queen as their monarch. The King of Ephedia was instead a protector and ruled over the military and might of a kingdom, sworn to defend the kingdom. The women who wielded Crystal Magic would undergo a process known as "Shanila" when she was approximately 15 though younger cases around 12 have occurred (dubbed "early Shanilas"). Shanila is the stage at which a girl's power has grown enough that it can now progress even further, often likened to that of a caterpillar becoming a butterfly.
While Crystal Magic was often white magic, it also held a dark counterpart known as black magic. Black magic could not heal and would hurt both the caster and victim whenever used, so it was often used for evil purposes, necessitating a defense against its use. Since women were the most capable of magic, it was the princesses of every kingdom who were tasked to defend against black magic. Princesses were gifted items that allowed them to transform into an upgraded form, one that boosted their magic and powers and changed their outfit to one with a symbol on it, often one related to their kingdom or themselves. Most symbols were unique to the person but many times multiple princesses shared symbol types.
Creation of the Mysticons
Over time, Crystal Magic grew in strength, eventually attracting the attention of a race of powerful creatures, ones who could see, here, speak and do things with unknown limits to their power. They wanted the magic for themselves and attempted to destroy the empire of Ephedia to obtain it. Realizing that their very existence was in danger, the Ephedians created the Dragon Disc, forged in Gemima's Celestial Forge, an item that could imbue four chosen heroes with its own magic type and abilities, different from Ephedia's Crystal Magic.
These heroes were dubbed the "Mysticons" and were gifted lotus-shaped belt buckles to transform into the Dragon Mage, the Ranger, the Striker and the Knight. Their powers were each connected to an animal which could be called upon and summoned with a magic bracer colored to each animal and activated with a short phrase. A spellbook known as The Codex was also crafted, able to boost and increase the power of the Mysticons when used. The Mysticons were the most powerful force in the entire empire and would guard the many empires alongside the royal families of each one.
The Dragon Mage was the leader of the team, capable of calling upon the power of the Green Dragon. They wielded the Dragon Mage Staff and their special ability was called "Telekinesis". The Dragon Mage specialized in magic and sorcery, able to defeat enemies at any distance as well as commanding the element of fire.
The Ranger was the second-in-command, capable of calling upon the power of the Blue Wolf. They wielded the Ranger Bow and Arrows and their special ability was called "Super Speed". The Ranger specialized in expert marksmanship and ranged combat, defeating enemies from any distance without a sweat.
The Striker was the heart of the team, capable of calling upon the power of the Yellow Phoenix. They wielded the Striker Energy Hoops and their special ability was called "Pixie Blast". The Striker specialized in confusion and chaos, using explosions and whatever trickery they could to defeat enemies with pure madness.
The Knight was the tank of the team, capable of calling upon the power of the Pink Unicorn. They wielded the Knight Energy Sword and their special ability was called "Shield". The Knight specialized in melée combat, offensive and defensive moves, protecting the team and attacking with power, force and strength.
Fall of Ephedia & The Aftermath
Unfortunately, the combined powers could not prevent Ephedia's fall and the massive empire collapsed, taking every smaller empire inside of it with it. Drake City of Gemima took it the worst as the Mysticons were killed in the very heart of the city with the Dragon Disc and Codex shattering into 4 pieces and hidden by what remained of Ephedia's forces. The only remnant of Ephedia that remained to current knowledge is Crystal Magic which was passed down through stories and tales. After the destruction of its home, Crystal Magic was unstable and only able to be used by certain people. Meanwhile, the Mysticons remained dormant, pieces still scattered and for thousands of years, they were never called upon.

Lolirock Reminder
FRENCH MAGICAL GIRL SHOW LETSGOO
so many gifs so i will reblog gifless version as well lol
Tumblr media
so this is not the main character unfortunately, you can tell because she isn’t pink. That’s talia, but was my fav because i related to the MomFriendStrugglesTM. anyways, here’s main girlie Iris:
Tumblr media
And Auriana
Tumblr media
These girls make up the band lolirock, and the animators actually put in the effort to make a dance number band scene at the end of each episode-
Tumblr media
Plot: Gramorr is evil guy and has taken over the magical planet of Ephedia. This planet has many kingdoms including Xeris, Volta, and Ephedia (yes, a kingdom named ephedia on the planet ephedia). The kingdoms i bothered to name are the home kingdoms of our three girlies, all of which currently reside on earth to be safe. The king and queen of Kingdom Ephedia sent iris to earth as a baby for proetection. The queen also sealed a magical crown away from Gramorr, sending the “keys” to earth as well.
Talia and Auriana have come to earth to find Iris, who is unaware of the situation. Iris has latent magic abilities that show up when she sings, and apparently that’s common because T and A know to pretend to make a band so they can find Iris. (they make it a real band, too).
They find iris and inform her than her planet is in danger, and that they need to train her. Thus ensues the show, which comprises of training, singing, fighting, finding the “keys,” and trying to figure out how to get back home. Also love interests.
why the hype? besides being freaking gorgeous
Tumblr media
and yes, the girls use their magic during the shows and pass it off as really good special effects because why not 😂 😭
Tumblr media
and full of bops, the show went on a very long hiatus for six years. I know, it sounds dead, but the creator actually recently announced that season three is in the works, though it may be as long as 2025 before we get to see it. either way, i’m hyped.
oh who am i kidding, it’s because its subtext is gay as hell. yeah everyone has straight love interests but like- MAGICAL GIRL SHOWS ARE ALL GAY TO SOME EXTENT BECAUSE FEMALES ARE BEAUTY AND IT’S IMPOSSIBLE TO IGNORE OK?
the minions praxina and mephisto are both just-
Tumblr media
come on.
anyways, talia supremacy because upon reflection of my life i may have been gay for her and didn’t even realize HAPPY PRIDE ENJOY

Yesterday I did some cartoon characters tier list with my step sister. We did Shugo Chara, Winx Club, Lolirock and a whole bunch of other stuff too. And as we talked about Lolirock, I realized how much I wanted to make rewrites for this show too. Just like Miraculous Ladybug I think it has so much potential. From memory the two big 'problems' Lolirock has in my opinions is not going far enough into the plot and being stuck into the "cartoon for children" cliches.
Tumblr media
The problem is not that it's made to appeal children, I mean Winx Club did the same, and while it's not a work of art in terms of plot (I've never seen a timeline so confusing like the one in Winx Club.) it didn't stop them from offering some diversity in the magical genre, nor displaying deep themes and episodes that are plot-driven while still being independant enough from the plot, or filled with enough exposition so that the children won't be confused if they haven't watched the previous episodes.
I can't speak much for the season two of Lolirock since I have very little memory of it, but I know that season one lacked of those qualities.
Diversity in the magical genre ? Well Iris's personality is quite bland and boring, apart from being the main character she doesn't have much going for herself, which makes her really boring in terms of storytelling. At least she manages to fit the main character role. Auriana and Talia, while not having the most original personnalities, are fun to watch and they have a bit of spotlight, so it's easier to get attached to them.
If we compare it to Winx Club, even if Bloom's personality quickly disappears and her character development is really just the plot going forward, we still have a diversity of personnalities like the shy, soft and insecure Flora, the confident, active and stubborn Aisha, the 'boyish', free spirited and creative Musa, so on and so forth to make up for Bloom's main character syndrome.
But since Lolirock do not offer such a wide range of main characters, Auriana and Talia can't do anything to help Iris's boring personality. It could've been avoided if Iris wasn't just a "i'm good because being good is good and i'm good" kind of character.
And this kind of characters are a cliche from cartoons for children, and in my opinion clearly foreshadows if a show is going to be good or basic.
Tumblr media
Going far enough into the plot ? Well to me establishing the story mainly on Earth is a handicap in itself. We can compare it to W.I.T.C.H, because it has the same base : a bunch magical girls fighting evil forces from another world. But in this show they actually went to this other world on a regular basis.
Ephedia and Meridian have the same base too : a magical world ruled by a blond tyrant and rebels are fighting to overthrown that said tyrant. And while in W.I.T.C.H the girls are actively part in it, in Lolirock we barely see it until season 2. Of course, having Iris stay on earth makes sense since she kinda is their last hope and is unprepared for a war, but the plot really focuses on the Earth, so much that we barely have some worldbuilding for Ephedia.
That's what I meant by "not going far enough". Each episodes focuses on some random person that is in need of help, and even if they're very lovely sometimes they're not relevant. Because while focusing on this, we barely know all of the different kingdoms in Ephedia, if magic is different from one princess to another, how can Gramorr still have a control on the parts of Ephedia when he can't even get out of his own castle and that any greedy person can infiltrate the army and instigate a revolt against him and take advantage of his situation ? We even barely know things about Queen Manon and King Hyperion, the main character's parents. I'm not talking about learning what happened to them, it's the kind of mystery that needs to stay that way for a bit, but is there really not anything to say about the former rulers except from "they were kind" ? Really ?
And I'm supposed to believe Iris discovers that she is from another world, that said world became a dystopia and kingdoms can be destroyed, she is actively hunted down by two twins who unleash monsters at them and those said monster sometimes being hidden in plain sight throughout the episode. And that instead of learning more about the different kingdoms of Ephedia, learning the magic system and how they can prevent those monsters from surprising them at the last minute, we learn how a human girl wants to win the gardening contest with her giant plant ?
No hate to that character in particular, it's just very underwhelming in the context of the story. The plot is literally "the only solution to help a whole magical world on the verge being destroyed by a crazy man is to firstly help that random human that has nothing to do with the plot and that you will never see again in the show with their existential crisis" and it's so disappointing.
And it's not like this kind of dramatic life-or-death-situation plot is too heavy for a children's show :
W.I.T.C.H had a little girl being manipulated into thinking Meridian was beautiful (but it was just an illusion) and turning her back to her friends, the themes of rebellion and how rebels are dying everyday for their cause oftenly discussed
Winx Club had a main character dying, another going blind, another one stuck in ice and having to watch her parents fall to their death, several shots of an entire city destroyed and the people stuck into webs (and you could clearly see that their last expression was one of pure terror and desperation)
Steven Universe even had a bunch of characters having to fight against an empire that colonized most of the galaxy and the literal Earth about to implode from the inside !
Angst and heavy subjects are not specially needed in order to have a good main plot, but if your main plot tends towards this idea (and the one in Lolirock clearly does, how can a plot about a whole planet being in danger can not be at least a bit dramatic ?) you can't just spend a whole season ignore it to focus on random human character number fifty two.
So yeah, Lolirock is awesome, it has great potential and even great morals, but cartoon writers (even in general) really needs to learn how to dare go further and go for more diversity in the very beginning of their show.

Nathiris Weekend: Day 1 -  Meeting the Parents
I just love the idea of Iris’ parents being super big dorks who really love their daughter. King Valarion, very wise and calm who’s very soft at heart. He’s very generous and loves a good fight. Queen Iridessa is the possessor of an ancient magic, she’s the heart of Ephedia, and knows how to provide and insure the survival of her people as their leader. As a mother, she’s loving, doting, and eager to bond. She has a lot of love to give, but can be a bit of an oddball. She’s enthusiastic, emotional, and clever. Nat and Iris know they mean well, even if they’re both a bit excitable about finally being able to be parents.

Let’s address these weird shoulder holes in people’s capes
I am terribly sorry it’s so long, I got a bit lost
First off, the king has them along with a set of massive pauldrons (the shoulder armor he’s wearing)
Tumblr media
But his soldiers (including Ellira), even though they’re elite bodyguards/whatever you call his private troops, don’t have the shoulder holes (just regular capes for you guys, sorry). Although they do have the matching armor. So the type of cape may have to do with political status.
Tumblr media
The xerian guards don’t have capes at all, but have pauldrons of the same design. But, see where the horizontal line is on all the other ones? That’s where the Xerian ones stop and theirs appear to be only the upper part, whereas everyone else who has these things has complete ones. Both sets of guards have close proximity to the royal families so their armor composition is most likely not to do with their status in regards to the royals. So is it regional differences? With complete top+bottom ones reserved for Ephedians to differentiate troops (despite already having huge color palette differences)?
Tumblr media
regular civilians=no capes/armor of any kind. Well, Ellira has a short regular cape but who knows her rank.
Tumblr media
except for this guy, who exists to punch holes in my shaky theory. Unless he’s simply a guard of lower rank/from another realm. Though he has the same color armor as the Ephedian guards, the symbol at his collar isn’t a heart. It’s a kite?
Tumblr media
Gramorr has holes in his weird smoke cape, and he too has matching complete pauldrons
Tumblr media
Both of the twins have capes with holes, as if in preparation to eventually receive the armor pieces
Tumblr media
And Praxina actually got them, along with another cape that fits the same trend
Tumblr media
What does it mean?
Since those with connections to the Ephedian royals are apparently the only ones with complete pauldrons (top+bottom halves), we can deduce that the twins (or at least Prax) must have had some type of connection to them at some point. We of course know Gramorr’s connection to the king and queen (though not in much detail).
The fact that only 4 characters in this show have the weird capes leads one to believe them to be granted only to a chosen few. Did Gramorr wear one just to mimic the King and further humiliate him when he took the throne? Just for another kick at the reverence surrounding the capes did he then also give almost identical ones to his two underlings?
Or, since Gramorr was part of the royal court before the takeover was the cape part of his regular uniform? If it was, then were the twins connected to the court? Their grandfather was the jester, but they’re usually considered servants so I doubt the family somehow achieved such a high position as to actually sit on the court. They may have instead worked in service in close proximity to important people. But then why would they have the capes??
Or they could just look cool. The world may never know.
I think some of these theories are contradicting each other, but at this point I'm just throwing out any possible explanation i can think of and confusing myself

Names for the King and Queen of Ephedia
Are we ever going to learn their names? I get the feeling we won’t, so how about we toss some ideas around.
Queen Aria
King Erfan

Aurora, Princess of Volta
The first of my many Lolirock ocs: Aurora is one of Auriana's 32 sisters - although she's only a half sister to Auri on their father's side. She has a questionable relationship with her family after being separated from them and Isolated by Gramorr. She's a bubbly but ambitious and tenacious girl - determined to not be looked down on for only being "half a princess".
~full profile/ backstory under the cut ~
Name:
Aurora
Gender:
Female
Age:
17
Kingdom/Hometown:
Volta
Favorite Color:
Red orange
Weapon(s):
Daggers (she always carries a few, just in case)
Magic o/c! Her crystals are a rust orange
Likes:
Sunshine, powerful magic, festivals and celebrations, attention, jewelry
dislikes:
the cold, the dark, fire, a lot of her siblings, being looked down on
Strengths:
👍 bluffing
👍self reliance
👍 charismatic
👍 resilience
Weaknesses:
👎takes things too personally
👎a little self absorbed
👎easily swayed
👎materialistic
Fears
Confined spaces
-like most the princesses of Volta, Aurora was captured by Gramorr when he attacked their realm. Much of the family was kept together but Aurora wasn’t one of them. Being left isolated in a small prison cell for year has given her some serious claustrophobia
fire
When gramorr conquered Volta he was met with resistance and in the fight the palace was destroyed. Aurora remembers trying to escape only to have her path blocked by flames. Her fear is very reasonable
3. Small animals
She just doesn’t like them, something about a small creature is just off putting to her. She’s not a fan of Amaru
Hobbies
Practicing her spell craft
Shopping
Performing (dancing and singing)
Taking long walks
Eating new foods
Back Story
Aurora is one of many princesses of Volta. She’s the closest sister to Auriana in age, being just a little bit older than her. She’s only a half sibling to Auriana, her father is the King but she has a different mother. Despite being among the older children, because she’s only half royalty she’s pretty low in the running for the throne.
Aurora was never really close to any of her massive family. As a young child she and Auriana were friends because they’re so close in age, but after they’d both hit their shanila Aurora started to notice how differently they were treated.  Her shanila was of course a big deal and treated as such, but once she was past it her life returned to business as usual. Auriana on the other hand was treated as a maturing princess who needed to learn to be in charge of things given that she was reasonably in line for the throne. This was the biggest hit to Aurora that made the gap between herself and her siblings a solid issue.
When Volta fell she, like most of the royal family, was imprisoned by Gramorr. While much of the family was kept together in a single cell a number of the older children weren’t lucky enough to be kept with their family, Aurora was one of those children. She was kept on her own completely isolated for years, because of this she became even more disconnected from others. Her time in Isolation made her very independent and self reliant but also very self absorbed. She’s always been the only person she had to count on and also the only person she’s ever had to worry about.
Since Gramorr’s defeat she’s been trying to make up for all she missed growing up in his prison, and a lot of her personality and likes have formed around that. She loves spending her time outside, enjoying the sunlight that she barely saw before. After years of isolation she loves being the center of attention, she’s taken to showing off in any way she can, and she particularly loves celebrations for giving her lots of opportunity to do so. Much like her sister she enjoys performing, both dancing and singing.  Since being freed she’s started working with her brother and Izira’s resistance force to help repair the damage Gramorr did to Ephedia. She’s a little jealous of the relationship her brother has with her other siblings, but she hopes working alongside him will help bring her closer to her family.

Part 4 (Fairies & Witches, Fairy Forms and Witch Forms) - Here
Part 5 (Current Time) - Here
Empires SMP S1
Eventually, empires once more were formed where Ephedia once stood. The empires of The Grimlands, The Crystal Cliffs, The Cod Empire, The Lost Empire, House Blossom, the Ocean Empire, Gilded Helianthia, Pixandria, Mythland, Rivendell & The Undergrove were built and thrived on the grounds, each kingdom soon able to feel the influence of the magic that lived there, though only three empires could actually wield the magic there. Those empires were Gilded Heliantha, The Ocean Empire and The Crystal Cliffs. Grand Wizard GeminiTay was the first to master this magic, with Queen Lizzie being the second. It was believed that Farmer Queen Pearl was also able to use this magic but it is unknown if she ever did as she died with her empire before any information could be obtained.
Formation of Sirenix
When Queen Lizzie ate the Ocean Orb and gained her Blue Axolotl form, she also received a special gift of power known as Sirenix. This magic was the essence of the Ocean and formed from the Ocean's Blessing that was granted to Lizzie, who became its power source and known as the Life of Sirenix. Sirenix was a counter of sorts to the biggest weakness of Fairies and Witches, water. Water disrupted their magic, so Sirenix allowed for free use of it underwater without the negative repercussions.
Along with this new power source, Lizzie was given a special series of items know as Sirenix Boxes. These boxes held the Guardians of Sirenix, creatures who were created when Lizzie became the source and would forever protect her and Sirenix itself.
The Sirenix Quest
In order to ascertain who would and wouldn't be allowed to wield Sirenix power and protect the Ocean Empire, Queen Lizzie held the Sirenix Quest, a trial of riddles that would test those who wished to obtain Sirenix.
For Fairies, it required them to find six gems: Empathy, Courage and Self-Confidence on land and Resilience, Creativity and Balance underwater. These gems would then be placed inside the Source of Sirenix, a giant glowing pearl with spots carved inside for the gems to be lain. For Witches, it required them to find six pieces of the a circlet, three on land and three underwater. These pieces would then be crafted into the Abyssal Charm, a circlet that would be cloned into however many Witches had found and brought it back.
For this challenge, Fairies were granted Harmonix, and Witches, Disharmonix, a temporary form akin to Sirenix and Dark Sirenix, but far less powerful and only needed for completion of the quest. The Guardians of Sirenix were also instructed to aid those who undertook the quest, and if one succeeded, their Guardian could grant them a singular wish, the limits unknown. All information of the quest, the history, everything one could wish for was compiled by Lizzie into the Sirenix Book, intended to forever live on.
The Cosmic Crystals and Solar Shards
Shortly after the wedding between Queen Lizzie and King Joel, Joel found himself enraptured in a very specific item found in the Crystal Cliffs. Magical shards from a series of crystals known as "Cosmic Crystals" had been uncovered by Grand Wizard Gem. These crystals were originally from an End, a very special End, a space farther away than anyone could know.
Pieces of these crystals had broken away and were dubbed "Solar Shards" for the bright golden color they held, akin to that of the sun. These shards held immense power that could transform and imbue those who used it with very special powers derived from all sorts of places. King Joel of Mezalea would go on to fashion them into a special pen that allowed them to become the Solar Soldiers of Mezalea.
The Solar Soldiers of Mezalea
Throughout the time of the many Empires, a furious foe named Xornoth had made itself known to them all. With corruption rising, many empires were on edge. Shortly after the wedding between Queen Lizzie and King Joel, Mezalea and The Ocean Empire had been seeking out ways to defend themselves against Xornoth's power. Joel, who had been tinkering with the Solar Shards with Gem, decided to take inspiration after those who wielded Ephedian magic (Lizzie, Katherine, Shubble "Shrub/Shelby", Pearl and Gem) and created the "Solor Soldiers". Their name was for how they were meant to act as the royal navy of Mezalea.
The Solar Soldiers were a group of empowered individuals, similar in nature to the Ephedian Empresses except this time, they were not limited by the rules of Ephedia's magic, instead running on their own rules for the power they wielded. These individuals were trained to be effective warriors on land, sea, sky and stars. Their leader was, of course, Joel himself known as Sailor M (short for Mezalea) and he held the power of the weather, often employing the use of dry wind and mesa-like conditions to battle foes.
Fall of the Empires SMP 1
Unfortunately, no matter what was done, Xornoth and other events lead to the fall of the many empires. The Ocean Empire drained away as did the Cod Empire. The Grimlands was destroyed into an unsalvageable mess, House Blossom and Undergrove burned up, Rivendell ripped apart by an earthquake and the Lost Empire completely destroyed. Worst of all, Gilded Helianthia burned away and took its queen with it, killing Farmer Pearl whereas the rest survived. Only Pixandria was able to stand the destruction, but even it still fell eventually.
Before the oceans had drained, Lizzie was able to bind herself as the Life of Sirenix to a pearl which she placed in the heart of her empire alongside the Sirenix book. Once the oceans drained, she lost herself and with who she was, Sirenix was nearly lost, only surviving by the pearl which held the part of Lizzie now lost. As for the Solar Soldiers, they were killed and items scattered about. Even Joel was killed, though he would manage to be reincarnated devoid of memories soon after.

Mephisto and Praxina, the royal twins of Runic!
Tumblr media
@teamlolirock Hey there! Made you some gift art of the best Lolirock characters!! And hello everyone!! So my bestie Astril recently got me into Lolirock by showing me Mephisto alone. I binged both seasons and- MEPHISTO IS PERFECTION. He's sweet, goofy, energetic, thoughtful, compassionate, and has a good heart. I realized we never learned the twins' backstory, even though they are some of the most popular characters in the entire fandom, if not THE most popular period. So I wondered: They're REALLY good at magic. What if Gramorr sought them out from their kingdom to use their magic for himself? What if the Tiara of Runic...was really Runic's Tiara for Praxina, since she's the older twin? So I spent 3 days on the above edit to make my own magical boy/girl designs for the twins, if Gramorr hadn't corrupted them! It comes my favorite screenshot of the twins throughout the series:
Tumblr media
How could I not? This shot is perfect! Anyway, you notice I kept their emblems, just modified a bit. I have a reason for that! Astril helped me brainstorm Runic as a realm of Ephedia. So, here's our lore/backstory for the twins/Runic!
Long ago, there was two neighboring realms, both excelling in magic of a most complex nature: Coden, a realm represented in green by a snake emblem, ruled by a king, and Leides, a realm represented in red by a butterfly emblem, ruled by a queen. Neither were married, and had fallen in love with the other. Their union merged the two realms, and because both realms were magic specialists, they named the unified realm Runic. Runic's new color was a burnt orange, a blend of the red and green from Leides and Coden. Years later, the ruling couple gave birth to twins. They were special because merged bloodlines had been creating children with the orange shade of Runic in their magic, bloodlines merging, but the twins had red magic like Leides for the older, a girl, and green magic like Coden for the younger, a boy. Both twins were born with whitish blonde hair. The king's father, their grandpa, had a brother who had once been Coden's court jester. When he saw the boy, Mephisto, had green magic, he passed on his staff to him, as an heirloom. Both twins grew up for a short time in Runic, studying their magic. Then Gramorr invaded. He used his power to take over, kill the king and queen, and destroyed Runic. The twins had smartly took shelter durjng the attack, and their magic helped them survive. But Gramorr found them along with the Tiara of Runic. Sensing their magic potential, he took both twins, using his power to corrupt their hearts. Their magic turned into black magic, and their hair was stained a burgundy reddish violet forever more. As time went on, Runic faded from memory, but Mephisto kept his staff, secret from Praxina out of fear she would want it for herself. Their hearts grew darker by the day...but deep down, a sliver of light fought the black magic of Gramorr, preventing them turning INTO Gramorr himself. Maybe someday, now that Gramorr is gone, that light can be freed, and the twins can live in peace once more...
Thank you! I hope all the Lolirock fans enjoy mine and Astril's lore for the best twins!!!
