Like. Tim was supposed to be the level-headed Robin. Quick thinker, emotionally stable, Batman’s right hand. He gets kidnapped by Joker, and Bruce tells himself he’ll save him this time. It’s not going to be like Jason. Tim is nothing like Jason.
He’s right.
Tim doesn’t want to be saved. He shoots Joker dead and laughs.
Bruce tries to bring him home but Tim doesn’t want to go. He looks so much like Joker, with his skin smeared oily white and the corners of his lips pulled taut. But the sharp way he talks is just so familiar, so Tim, like Bruce could just reach out and grab him and pull his Robin back to the surface — if Tim wasn’t already cackling and slipping away into the shadows of the abandoned asylum.
The next time he sees Tim, the boy is having the time of his life, leading the GCPD all over town on a wild goose chase involving copious amounts of fireworks, laughing gas, and awful puns.
Gothamites are relieved — the villain that terrorized their city is dead, traded in for a cuter, less-bloodthirsty-but-equally-maniacal version. He’s equal parts scary and charming — even Nightwing looks conflicted for a moment when Tim plants a red lipstick mark on his cheek and sets off a glitter bomb in his face.
He’s happier now, he insists. Robin was great and all, but this is tons more fun. Why was he holding himself back for so long? He used to think every responsibility he took on was so important, that he was saving Gotham — all Gotham really needs is a good laugh!
…And don’t call him Junior, he informs Bruce, gesturing with the gag gun he used to kill Joker. The Joker is back, and he’s here to stay.
#the joker is dead long live the joker#joker junior#tim drake#batman#bruce wayne#dick grayson#dc comics#joker!tim is a force of destructive chaos but he’s here to have a good time not to like#force batman to watch him splash around in a kiddie pool filled with the blood of innocents or whatever the hell joker does these days#Tim has realized that nobody can actually stop him from doing whatever the hell he wants and unfortunately for gotham he’s very creative

Being someone who read Under The Red Hood and came out with the firm belief that, for Jason, it's not about killing Joker, it's about Jason wanting proof Batman would choose him over the Joker (bc shelia chose the joker). Makes seeing any other media where it's all about just wanting the Joker dead is a teeny bit frustrating. to be honest
Jason could've killed the Joker himself, really, really easily. Jason kidnaps the Joker before the confrontation. I can't open my comic for a reference right now, but it felt like he had the Joker for quite a bit before the confrontation. He had him. He beat him up with a crowbar. He had every single opportunity to kill the Joker himself, but he didn't because that wasn't his goal. Make no mistake, he did plan for the Joker to be dead by the end of it, but do you see what im trying to say here
Edit: If I knew this post was gonna get 1000+ notes I would've tried to word it better or something, this was a rant I made on the way to the grocery store 😭
It's not about making Batman kill either. When Batman says he won't kill, Jason adjusts and goes, 'Let ME kill the Joker or kill me to stop me' instead. The test is all about Batman choosing him. The whole final confrontation is Jason's first death again. The parent, The Joker, and the explosives. It even ends with Jason unable to move as a bomb goes off right next to him again because the parent didn't choose Jason. And instead tried finding an option that'd benefit them and (consequencely) letting the Joker walk, again, lol, lmao <-in agony
#the final confrontation was basically his first death again#and YES he Does want the Joker dead#and it would've been really really nice if Batman was the one who did it#but when batman made it clear he wouldn't kill the joker. Jason easily switched to saying “LET me kill the joker” to accommodate#because he Wanted batman to pass his test#he gave a test to dick too. and technically tim but it wasnt the family test it was a different one so it doesnt rly count#AFTER utrh and the reveal and the batarang you can go hog wild about it. i care less about it then#granted i do believe they make jason more scared of the joker after it at some point#i guess because hes a bit too willing to kill the joker and ive heard jason wasnt meant to live after utrh#my watsonian explain for that is he was so fixated on his plan he cpuld override his fear. or maybe the pit. either work#i prefer the fixation bc i dont like the explanation that the pit was the /only/ reason he could get all plan together and done#BUT THATS UNRELATED!!!#dc stop putting the joker in jason stories im begging you please please please. lock him in a vault for the next 20 years or something#it Cpuld be good and i understand. but also. after so long of people that dont know or go for jasons need for family and parents#that love him and he can trust#the joker starts to feel like?? hm. words. a cop out? oh haha its that guy that killed him woagh hes here#i bet you dont even know that jaybin got beat until unconsciousness by an angry mob#while asking batman to save him only for batman to have to walk away#anwya. where was i going with this#i think i got off topic#jason todd#dc comics#batman#ADDED AN EDIT. SORRY. this post has been haunting me it keeps me awake. what if people misunderstand#they cant read my tags where i ramble more depth. thisbis the only option#EDIT EDIT: hiii#removed the sentence abt jason having the joker for several days bc i misremembered some things#go read its-your-mind 's addition instead also#ok no more i wont edit this post anymore i promise

What if Danny and Jason met in the infinite realms when Jason was dead and started a relationship?
Jason gets brought back to life, with or without memories of what happened while he was dead, and Danny has no idea where he's gone.
Jason is going through his whole training for vengeance thing. Danny is searching high and low, calling on all of the ancients and all of his rouges, doing whatever it takes to get his boyfriend back.
Jason meets up with the Bats. Does his whole 'kill Joker if you actually care about me' thing. Heads in a duffle bag and what have you. Danny still can't find Jason, but is starting to figure out that Jason was Robin. Like, actually Robin and just a concept spirit like Clockwork.
Jason starts making amends with the Batfam, but his "pit madness" is still a massive issue. Tucker and Sam help Danny figure out that Robin was Jason Todd and he lived in Gotham.
Jason wakes up one morning and feels like crap. He keeps having random sharp pains in his chest. He goes to the Batcave to get Alfred to check him out. Danny gets to Gotham and starts searching for Jason when he senses something odd. It's like someone is calling out to him, so he follows the feeling.
Danny arrives just in time to see Jason "giving birth" to their child.
#danny phantom#dp x dc#dc x dp#dp x dc prompt#i guess it's actually more of an outline than a prompt#danny fenton#jason todd#jason x danny#dead on main#double dead#the pit madness was just pregnancy hormones#yeah he still tried to murk tim#but to be fair#he was pregnant and going through a lot emotionally#the baby took a long time to develop because of lack of ectoplasm#he calms down after the baby is out of him#danny's freaking out because holy fuck he's a dad!#danny does unspeakable things to the joker#he was not about to let the guy that murdered his boyfriend live in the same world as his baby#could be changed to jason and danny being from different universes#that's a better explanation for why it takes danny so long to find jason#need to queue#i already posted something big today

regarding the difference in jason's actions towards two-face when he learns of willis's murder vs. his desire for bruce to have avenged his own death: rather than a change in morals or caring more abt bruce than willis this case shows jason's own hypocrisy. jason forgives and pities harvey bc hes a deeply empathetic person. i personally think that contrary to what he may say if bruce had died in jason's place, jason would've reacted very similarly to how he did in willis's case. after his resurrection jason latches on to the specifics of joker's continued existence, but inwardly what he's really feeling is a deep sense of his own worthlessness. he sees that bruce has moved on as though nothing happened, as though he never mattered; this triggers a deep sense of insecurity in him because he cannot so easily move on. he's stuck in the moment of his death, 15, waiting for someone to prove to him that they love him as much as he loves them. this discrepancy he feels between himself and bruce leaves him unbearably vulnerable. to assuage his own humiliation and feelings of inferiority he fixes on a problem which rapidly becomes black and white before his eyes: heres what bruce should have done if he actually loved me. id have done the same had it been him. however, as with almost anything jason says or thinks after his resurrection you have to ask yourself is he really being truthful to himself, consciously or unconsciously? when jason encounters earth-51's batman in countdown who did kill joker in response to jay's death, he seems instinctively to find this version of bruce lesser. he says to him 'we're both dead "batman." any fool could see you've been dead inside for years.' jason can't reconcile the caring person he had known with someone who would have become what that bruce did.
i think the reality of the situation is that jason would likely have reacted badly even (or perhaps especially) if bruce had killed the joker because the situation is just so fucked. bruce can't react in any way that jason isn't able to twist inwards into self-loathing. jason is simply unable to admit to himself that what he really wants is not for bruce to have killed the joker, but for his life, his death, his tenure as robin, to have been meaningful; for bruce to have unconditionally loved him as jason loved him in turn; for bruce to continue to love him, in fact to continue to need jason; more than anything though--he wishes he hadn't died, because ultimately he wishes desperately for things to be as they were -- but neither of them can ever go back to being those people.
... the tldr jason thought process is essentially -> bruce doesnt love me bruce never cared about me at all or not in any way that mattered i loved him wholly i would have done anything for him i would have died for him i would have killed for him. but LOL he would not have done that!
I love that you brought up earth 51 Batman because i think about him a lot and I think I’ve said it before how they’re both just hanging out with shuffling corpses BUT ☝️ I would attribute Jason calling this Bruce dead more to how he keeps calling Jason “Jason” and ignoring and not addressing Jason’s attempts to distinguish himself from dead-Jason. I think it’s very palpable to Jason the uncanny valley and horror of the situation because when Jason talks about dead-Jason bruce says “you” for both of them. And yet in the end bruce dives in to help when that Bruce is in trouble even tho he’s sooooo doomed. (Funny as hell for Donna and Kyle to just give Jason space to do that like in context it’s a sad moment but “we’ll just be over here”. )
I do think Jason has hypocrisy ngl but I will also but you here- I think it’s what you’re saying about the desire for proof of love but also with a combo of a change in morals. The difference could lie quality of the bad guy. I mean we get that out of Jason’s mouth, “I’m not taking about X Y and Z” but you’re right that you know, we can’t always take Jason’s word for it. But the other half of that line “doing it because he took me away from you” I think Jason thinks killing people is okay. It’s how the world works to him.
Tbh preface that I don’t think modern Jason feels this way about Bruce anymore, but the joker thing specifically was UtH Jason feeling Bruce was living in naïveté and that Jason’s death would be the thing that took him by the shoulders and forced him to confront that it’s okay to kill people sometimes. It wasn’t, because I don’t think anything is, although I see people saying he would if it were a different character and I get a little :(
Thanks for the ask, sorry I only talked about where I disagreed with you
#I’m trying to find fanfic where Bruce and Jason have a good relationship#long post#edit to say say 51 Batman was dead inside because he was killing lots of people and that’s why he was dead (inside)#and living in the past and having a fucked up fantasy and probably seeing dead Jason everywhere if we take bats track record#of how often they see dead people into account#but ☝️#and a Bruce understander can crucify me for it#I think he could forgive himself for one death. he’s done it for other people. would it tear him up? yes. but also he’d get over it#this Batman is not. like it’s crude to say he’s killing other people for self harm but I LIKE this Batman in a way that I don’t grim knight#or god forbid robin king. BECAUSE he very clearly to me doesn’t like killing people#so. he’s self harming by killing people and he’s dead inside and I have to be very humble when I say this okay. is it because#he didn’t have a tim#1 thing people get wrong for reasons I can’t understand is the post aditf Sman guest appearance#but like if you’ve read that. what’s the difference. joker shows up a year later but until that moment Bruce could’ve killed joker#and he wasn’t FINE fine but he was starting to be. so like hypothetically if joker never came back. Bruce chose to let him die.#world keeps turning he’s still Batman

reading this made me think that, if anything, Tim would be a variant of Oracle
Reverse robins is an interesting concept that's being do underutilised it hurts. Just because the order of them being adopted and their ages are reversed doesn't mean that major events are set in stone; just because Tim was adopted second doesn't mean he would've died, or that he would become the red hood. Jason died because he felt like being bruce's son hinged on him being robin, and so went to find his mother that sold him to the joker. Tim doesn't come from Jason's background, he doesn't NEED to be told he's loved to get it, and he was still bruce's robin when his parents were still alive so it doesn't make sense giving him the secret bio mom thing.
Also Tim wouldn't become the red hood and set up shop in crime alley because why the fuck would he? what connection does he have to that place? He's the most practical robin, so if he was to have a red hood esque character, he would never even reveal himself to the public, just operate behind the scenes. Jason's dramatics are a call for attention from bruce. That's his whole thing, wanting bruce to confirm his love and validation. Giving all of that to Tim is a disservice to both characters.
#again probably with a different name and definitely with a difference in backstory bc I hate when ppl literally just pick up a characters#trauma and dump it on the next guy in line bc. that's so boring and unimaginative when you could consider so many fun new traumas—#and hero names!#I think a joker junior!tim that ends his reign as Robin and then switches to an Oracle type antihero after would be much more intriguing#it would explain why he doesn't want to be in the limelight anymore bc that's what got him kidnapped. he doesn't want to be seen by anyone•#—more than he needs to. he probably had his civilian id declared dead due to being gone so long and now lives under a fake name and his—#—parents are probably still alive but he can't go see them bc he has a Glasgow smile that only the second robin should have!!!#(im saying 'robin' but the name would definitely be dif)#literally five minutes and here we have a free new backstory anyone can steal. Tim wouldn't be red hood in crime alley#he'd be obsessed with control & knowing everything behind the scenes doing unethical shit if it's necessary (or he THINKS its necessary)#and it would be a unique response based on his back ground personality and his OWN unique personalized trauma :D !!

Jason's bike stopped in front of Damian's school, the school was almost empty at this time. Damian walked over to where Jason stopped and got on the bike after putting on his helmet. Jason noticed that Damian was depressed these months, he would be a fool if he did not notice the change in Damian, first his fights with Tim had stopped, his taking care of his animals had decreased, and his enthusiasm for fighting crime had disappeared. He knew why, it was all because of Y/N's departure, and he had to admit that her decision to divorce Bruce was a good choice... almost.
He rode his bike back to Wayne Manor in silence, Jason didn't make fun of Damian for this, he himself was suffering now after Y/N's departure and even before her departure... Before his death, his relationship with Y/N was beautiful, wonderful, like a real family, he couldn't have asked for more, but after his death... everything changed, he still remembered that night when he returned to Gotham and sought revenge on Bruce and the Joker, when Batman was chasing him through the city's procedures and the identity of the Red Hood was still unknown Y/N was the first to discover his true identity, she was monitoring his movements through the bat computer while Batman was chasing him, and when she saw Red Hood's movements... and how familiar he was in every way she didn't hesitate for a moment to take the nearest car in front of her and drive to Batman and Red Hood's location. Alfred tried to stop her but couldn't, as soon as Y/N reached their location she ran to them. Batman tried to stop Y/N and push her away but Y/N shouted at Batman that Red Hood is her son… her son… Jason remembers that he froze in place when he saw Y/N and when he heard the word… my son… his mind was confused, he didn’t know what to do and from the sudden tension and pressure he raised his gun towards her and shot her… he doesn’t remember what happened after that… he doesn’t remember anything… he only remembers that Y/N gave him a look that he will never forget as long as he lives… a look full of pain and sadness… and disappointment… and from the strength of his fear and tension he fired another shot and then everything else turned into a blur… he ran as fast as he could away from the place… away from her…
Since that day his relationship with Y/N changed, even after his relationship with Bruce improved, he didn't visit her or meet her... afraid of her reaction, afraid of seeing her hatred towards him in her eyes... Still... he was still trying to follow her... even if it was by chance... he wanted to improve his relationship with her.. like before... to be a mother and son again... he admits that he missed hugging her before going to sleep, and morning activities like yoga and chasing around the house... if he could go back.. he wants to stay in those moments that he cherished with all his heart... but he can't... he tried once to enter the house at a random time... just to meet Y/N even if it was by chance... but by mistake.. he overheard Y/N and Alfred arguing about him... which broke his heart and he surrendered that she would never forgive him.. Alfred told her to see Jason more, Jason became quieter and came to the house more often... Y/N's answer had ruined all his plans for reconciliation... Y/N said that this boy is not Jason... Not her son… Her son is dead and he’s not coming back. Jason remembers running as fast as he could out of the house, riding his bike as fast as he could, and hiding in one of his safe houses. He couldn’t stop the tears… He couldn’t hide his regret… Hide his feelings… Hide his frustration… He was sorry… He was sorry… He was ready to pay back… He was ready for Y/N to shoot him if she wanted… She could kill him if she wanted… He was ready to surrender… He just wanted her to forgive him… To be her son again… He wanted to tell her about his fears and nightmares that haunt him at night… He wanted to tell her about the pain he felt without her, he wanted to hold her before he fell asleep… Like a little child… Couldn’t he have that? Couldn’t he be her son again? What should he do? He was ready to do what she asked for until the end… He really missed her so much…
Jason stopped his bike in front of Wayne Manor. "Okay brat... We're here." Jason turned to Damian who took off his helmet and walked silently into the manor... Jason sighed sadly. He was sure Damian felt the same way... That he missed her... Jason wondered if Y/N still had any love for him... He didn't know.
As soon as Damian entered his room, he threw his bag and lay down on his bed... Why did she hate him? Was it because he was cruel? Or because he was so emotional? Or because he was cursing and belittling her? Or because he broke her hand because she tried to brush his hair? Or because he was comparing her to his mother Talia in front of everyone... ? Does she hate him now because of this? He's sorry... He's so sorry... He's ready to apologize... He's so sorry for all the stupid fights... He's sorry for every word he said... He's sorry for trying to be cruel... He's so sorry for all the threatening texts he sent... Maybe... Maybe if he apologized in front of her, she'd forgive him.... Right?
His tears were wetting his bed… His fist gripping the blanket tightly like a lifeline…He cried and screamed sadly into his pillow. She came today to school but not for him!! Not for him… But for two children he hadn’t noticed throughout his time studying here… Who are they to have Y/N’s love? Who are they to take Y/N away from him?!! Who are they to even dare to hug Y/N?!!… He wiped his tears and went to the bathroom to wash his face with cold water… He wouldn’t let two weak children have all of Y/N’s love. He walked out of his room and headed to Tim’s room… He didn’t care if he was going to beg… He wanted to know who these two children were…
Y/N’s love for him. Only him. And he wasn’t ready to share it with anyone.

Dead on Main short part 2
This was not supposed to be this long. It just kept getting longer, just kept going. I found a cut-off point eventually, but there may actually be a part 3 to what was supposed to be a very short little piece. Whoops. (part 1)
Jason never had the time to be concerned about his words when he was young. Neither did anyone else around him. His dad couldn’t be bothered with anything to do with him, and Jason would have been surprised if Willis actually knew what his words were. His mother was more confused by them then anything else, and even then that was only in her rarer sober moments.
Then Jason moved in with Bruce. Dick wasn’t around much when he lived in the Manor. He had just started tolerating him when Jason had died. Dick probably knew what the words were, but they had never discussed it with each other, and Jason couldn’t begin to guess what his opinion was on them back then.
Bruce used to entertain his fantasies of trying to think up different scenarios his words could be said in, both of them trying to make the funniest good outcome. It became a game they played when bored on stakeouts, obviously keeping the contents of the words private while playing. To be fair, there were a lot of good and funny scenarios. But they lived in Gotham, and Jason had experienced enough of the world, even at that young age, that he understood the likeliness of a bad scenario.
And then he died. And he didn’t think about his words for a very long time. Too busy training and plotting. Busy coming back to Gotham, enacting his plans and building a criminal empire. He barely remembered them himself until he was back in Gotham, operating as the Red Hood, with a trail of bodies behind him.
Assassin training, heads in a duffel bag, counts of arson, and leader of a gang, Jason was not the same kid he used to be. There were few scenarios in which his words could be said that he couldn’t come to understand. And he was at a point in his life where he could find room for a soulmate again. He was settled, secure as the anti-hero of Crime Alley, tenuous agreement with the Bats and all. He had even been by the Manor to have tea with Alfred.
Arkham breakouts were old hat to everyone in Gotham. Citizens bunkering down, and Bats readying themselves to round up whoever made it out this time. However, this was the first Arkham breakout since his plan with Bruce and the Joker failed. The first since his agreement with the Bats to use non-lethal means. When Jason heard that it was the Joker that had broken out, he planned to kill him, truce be damned.
The Bats could probably deduce that, it was too soon into the truce for any real change to have been made. And this was the Joker. So now it was a race to see who could get to him first.
Luckily (in this instance), Jason’s base is much closer to Arkham than the Bats. So while they are all stuck driving in from the better parts of town, Jason is already chasing the Joker down alleys.
Joker is laughing, practically skipping away as if this is a game, and Jason almost loses him as he turns a corner he didn’t see. Jason can hear the Joker laughing, starting to speak. Probably to taunt him again. Then the sound cuts off with a choke and a thud.
Jason turns the corner to see Joker laid out flat, nose bleeding and neck at a funny ankle. A choked breath escapes him, and he looks around to see a man leaning against the alley wall.
The man’s hands are shaking, breaths choppy, and there's a bit of blood on his right hand.
Jason takes a deep breath, which causes the man to look at him out of the corner of his eye. Jason takes in the scene again. And then again, hardly daring to hope even with the evidence in front of him.
“Is he dead?” Jason asks softly. The man turns to face him, and Jason takes a glove off and slowly, hesitantly, checks the Joker’s pulse.
“Look, in my defense…” The man trails off, looking to the heavens for a moment. “I really fucking hate clowns.”
Jason, hope fully settled in as the Joker remains still and lifeless on the ground, pulse non-existent against his fingertips, almost laughs. Then his brain does a record scratch. Rewind. Replays the words ‘Look, in my defense’ over again, head shooting up to look at the man who just killed the Joker.
Jason takes his other glove off, standing. He takes a step towards the man, pushing up his sleeve. The man seems nervous at his advance, watching him warily until Jason uncovers the words on his arm. The cover falls to the ground behind him as he takes another step forward.
The man’s eyes light up in realization, and he also rushes to push up his sleeve. One more step forward and they are right in front of each other. Arms held up, brushing together as they show each other their marks.
Left forearms pressed together in the space in front of them, one reading ‘Is he dead?’ and the other “Look, in my defense.’.
The man laughs and Jason takes in the sound of it, the happiness in his eyes as he looks up at him. Jason slowly reaches up to remove his helmet, domino still on underneath it, and lets it fall to the alley floor as well.
“You’re amazing.” Jason breaths out, hand reaching up to cup the stranger’s, his soulmate’s cheek. “You have no idea what you’ve just done for me.”
“Little bit of manslaughter.” He laughs. “Didn’t think it would be received this well.”
Jason smiles in response. “I would worship you for this, if you’d let me. I will never stop thanking you.”
“Oh.” The man gasps, breath hitching. Jason, one hand still on his cheek, thumb stroking underneath his eye, places his other hand on the man’s waist and backs him up to the alley wall. Deliberately slowly, watching the man as he takes a deep breath, licks his lips, and lets himself be moved.
“Tell me your name and I’ll start right now.” Jason whispers.
“Danny.” The word is breathy and low, only heard due to Jason’s close proximity.
“Danny.” Jason repeats his name like an anthem and a prayer. Prepared to give his life for this man already. And then kisses him, pressing his lips to his softly, reverently. Wanting to hold this moment forever.

The Wrong Robin Au (part two?)
Previous | Master Post | Next
"Alright, kid." Danny sighed as he walked back into the motel. "tell you what, you tell me everything you think you know about me and bats, and I'll be Robin. Deal?"
Tim's eyes widen in surprise, "wait, really?" he asks, dropping the third Oreo he had been trying to balance on Sam's forehead. Sam snored, her nose twitching in agitation for a moment before going back to normal.
Tim leaned back, keeping an eye on her. "do you really mean it? you'll come back and fix him?"
Danny sighed, "I can't promise that I'll be able to fix him, but I can promise to do my best."
Tim nodded his head, "That's all I ask." then the kid stood up, holding his hand out for Danny to shake, "We got a deal, Robin."
Danny smirked, unable to keep a straight face at how cute the kid was being. Reaching out, he shook his hand.
"Right, first things first. Who's Batman, and why do you think so?" Danny asked, making his way over to the table. Tim followed behind him, his face brightening up in excitement.
"Bruce Wayne of course," Tim cheered, plopping down onto the chair across from Danny.
Of course, another rich fruit loop would be Batman. Why not? What's next? Lex Luther was Superman's archnemesis? Oliver Queen cosplayed Katniss Everdeen?
"I thought Dick Grayson, Bruce's ward, was Robin at first. It had made sense, or at least mostly did but I wasn't completely sold on it. I only really thought it was him because Robin was able to do a quadruple backflip, and only Grayson's family was able to do that. but then I saw you! and it makes perfect sense!" Tim smiled excitedly, leaning forward as he continued.
"You were able to do the flip, AND you acted just like Robin did! Dick doesn't act like Robin in public, or ever really. But you do! You did the flip, you make puns! you even bit that one mugger!"
Danny blinked before slowly nodding his head; Well, at least his personality wasn't going to be a problem. "right, makes sense," not. it did not make sense, but who was Danny to crush this kid's hopes. also, how long ago was this? because Danny hadn't done the flip this time... he's definitely bitten a criminal or two over the past two weeks, but the flip? that had to have been back when he first got his powers... he vaguely remembers his parents dragging him around the country on some trip Vlad set up for them.
see, it was totally Vlad's fault.
"and who was the second Robin?" Danny asked, leaning back and crossing his arms.
"Bruce's second kid, Jason Todd," Tim replied, not smiling anymore. "The Joker killed Robin over in Ethiopia. Jason went missing and was declared dead around the same time."
"Right," Danny coughed, glancing away from Tim. "and what else do you know?"
"Well, I know Commissioner Gordon's daughter, Barbara, was batgirl..." Tim trailed off with a wince, obviously not liking the conversation anymore. Danny had to agree, the whole class had been informed about the dangers of Gotham City. Barbara Gordan had been one of the examples they used.
"I know that you're using a fake name!" Tim suddenly added, looking more lively now. Danny blinked before sighing, "Yeah? and why's that?"
"you used your bat training to make a fake identity to throw Bruce off your trail! That way you would have more time to settle in with your new team! and it worked for a while, that is until he caught up to you and your team. it doesn't seem he knows about this identity, so you've been using it ever since Jason's death. because you're mad at him."
"and why am I mad at him?" Danny asked, tilting his head back to stare at the ceiling. Just what had he gotten himself into?
"because he didn't tell you about Jason's death." Danny glanced back at the kid, watching as he looked away and out the window. "just like he didn't tell Dick..."
had he finally connected the dots? had he finally realized he got the wrong person?
"why would he not tell you two?" Tim asked, turning to look up at Danny. Danny shrugged, turning to look back at the ceiling. "grief makes people do things they never would have before." like becoming a billionaire and spending twenty years scheming on how to murder a single man. or it could make them more obsessed with their work.
Danny knows Greif, he's had to deal with it for years now. It's the only thing he understands about why Batman has changed so much. Greif, especially for someone you love? It changes you, it holds onto your heart and never lets go. It can drive you insane if you let it.
"he was so caught up in his own grief he didn't realize that there were others who needed to grieve with him."
"Oh," Tim replied.
they sat in silence for a moment before Tim spoke up again.
"I know where the Batcave is."
Danny blinked. Right. Batman. Batcave. the bat-themed vigilante had a secret lair and it was a cave. That checked out. At least it wasn't in the basement.
"yeah?" Danny prompted, "And where's that?"
"under the manor," Tim replied, crushing any and all hope Danny had for Bruce Wayne.
It was official. All billionaires were fruitloops. Danny didn't care if they didn't all have secret basements, they were fruitloops.

Warning: Long post?
—
Jason did not expect his ghost form to feel…like this.
(Oh, dealing with his body randomly phasing through the ground and smacking his face onto hard concrete was not fun, but Jason dealt with that just like with every other hurdle in his life. By being more stubborn than the problem itself.)
It felt like something… settled into place. That was the best way he could describe it.
He felt as if spite and anger were finally not the only things keeping him awake and running.
He felt calm, almost. Stable, at least. Whatever pent up energy that was stuck in his chest cavity now flowed freely throughout his body, redistributed, instinctually easier to manage.
It's almost like he could breathe a little bit easier.
(After much… ranting that Jason decided to ignore for his own sanity, Danny said that his case ectoplasmic corruption was probably due to the fact that Death, as a concept, doesn’t let go of things easily, time shenanigans notwithstanding.)
(Becoming a half-ghost was seemingly the only working compromise.)
—
Danny once told him that broad strokes of a ghost’s personality could be guessed by looking at their physical appearance.
Despite the cool powers, this was a slight downside. Jason dealing with the filth of the Earth meant that being to hide his emotions and who he is was kind of important. Life saving, even.
He realized later on that his ghost form was way too easy to read.
—
He looked at his arms covered in bandages, and got reminded of the amount of times he had to patch himself up in the last month.
His jacket was ripped in place he knew that would have been sewn together when he was a living breathing human (well, as much as he could be).
He always looked slightly on fire?
(Danny told him it's probably related to his... core?)
(He know he died in an explosion but really?)
And then, there was his… veil? Shroud? Cloak?
It looked really nice.
But on the other hand…
It drooped when he felt under the weather. It flicked and thrashed around when he’s either irritated or barely holding back his urge to headshot someone.
And—
(No Danny, my cloak was not fucking wagging when you brought me fresh ectoplasm last week, you’ll have to get your goddamn eyes checked—)
He'll deny it until the day he dies (a second time).
And then his cloak could sometimes just…grow bigger. He figured that it acted as an extension of his own body, and had a nice add-on of allowing him to sense things he couldn't see. Hell, he could even make a hand out of it (wacking Danny with it - gently - never gets old). Jason had to also admit it looked cool, with the wispy bits and with one of its sides becoming a bright yellow.
(It reminded him a bit of his time as Robin.)
—
Being a ghost had a lotta perks.
Dealing with targets was so much easier when no one could see you. Inflitration was so much simpler when walls became optional. Cameras will glitch out when he's around, he left no traces visible to the naked eye and, combined with his training, to say that it was useful would be an understatement.
But, sometimes, he feels like he’s changing as well the more he transforms. Not drastically, but enough for him to look back and notice.
He usually was someone who prided on being efficient and straight to the point.
But now he’s starting to… have fun.
He started using his claws whenever he could. Don't het him wrong, he still uses his guns plenty, but there was just something deeply satisfying about vaulting over things, scaling a wall or crawling on the ceiling with bare hands.
(Punching people is still the most satisfying by far, though.)
That one time hunting down the Joker wannabes was fun too.
(Danny said he’d get along great with Skulker? Did Jason want to find out? No.)
Fading in and out of invisibility, he picked them off one by one, watching as panic and dread slowly but surely creeped up on the remaining ones.
(After all, he has no respect for those trying to emulate the dead clown.)
—
(Yeah, the Joker was dead.)
(Surprisingly, that has not been a good day.)
—
One of the favorite things he liked to do was rooftop parkour. The… bendability of gravity is… fun, not gonna lie.
(Not flying though. Jason is used to having feet in regular contact with solid ground, thank you very much. No offense, Danny.)
But he gets why ghosts love to fly. When he’s jumping from rooftop to rooftop in Gotham in the at night, watching the city light fly by, cloak spread behind him, it’s as if nothing else matters.
(No Joker, no petty criminals to beat up, no avoiding the Bats so they don’t find out about his existence—)
He can just enjoy, even just for a little bit.
—
(Somehow the Demon Brat and Orphan could sense him. Will keep and eyes on those two, and also the more reasons to avoid them.)
(The real problem was the new Bat in town. Bruce, what the fuck, another one? Again?)
(The yellow one, Signal. No time to check his profile yet, but probably a meta or something.)
(First night out and the guy almost managed to actually fucking see him —looked at him straight in the eyes and all, then did a double take. Jason never phased into the pavement so fast in his entire fucking life.)
(And so far no Bats on his cloak tails yet.)
(He did help the guy incognito, just a couple of times.)
(And he also did steal his escrima sticks for fun, and once the guy went out looking for them, he’d put them right back where they were.)
(Turns out, he discovered later, that being a little shit runs in the ghost community.)
—
(Sometimes he also wonders what happened to Danny before they met.)
(He wasn't a Gothamite, that was obvious. He doesn’t pry, but it doesn’t take a lot to piece two and two together.)
(He just wonders who he has to kill this time.)
—
(Jason could not believe he forgot and underestimated just how fucking persistent every single one of the Bats could be. Of course it had to run in the family.)
He gazed down, thought the agony, at the gaping wound under his right armpit.
(The Bats have been chasing him relentlessly for a while now. He got more injuries than he can count, especially from Bruce.)
(They know. Oh, they know.)
(It didn’t go well.)
(He knows the others are there surrounding him to prevent him from escaping, he knows that Dick is right behind him, but at the moment he couldn’t care less.)
It has been a long time since the last time he got shot.
(It felt like someone set his right side on fire.)
What was flowing out in abundance was a neon, toxic green.
(The Pit Waters, ectoplasm, he didn’t even know that he could fucking bleed in ghost form—)
(Danny—)
He looked back up at Batman, holding a (frankly) ugly gun, white casing and highlights in the same shade of toxic green.
(A gun that Danny warned him about. And everything behind it.)
Jason felt something in him... snap.
(Why did it have to be you, Bruce.)
His mouth opened—
(waitsincewhenhecoulddothatthroughtthe mask—)
(Jason could see the billows of neon green smoke—)
(He couldn’t see Bruce’s expression.)
(Every. Single. Goddamn. Time.)
— and wailed.

Danny has a new rogue. The man is going by the name of Freakshow, but most of the whispers he’s heard have labeled him as the Joker. The Joker pings as a liminal, so Danny has been trying to find him. Problem is, the Joker doesn’t stay in Amity Park. The man is mobile, and the more Danny leaves Amity Park, the more he’s hunted by the GIW. This makes it harder to hunt the man, but he knows that Joker is dangerous. Unstable.
And he really hates clowns.
He’s chasing the Joker through New Jersey when a red blur knocks into him and drags him away from the Joker. He has enough sense left to realize he’s being moved in superspeed before he’s head butting the man holding him and turning intangible out of his arms. He hears the man in red groan and hold his bleeding nose.
“Wait.” The man in red pants, “The Joker is dangerous.”
“I know he is.” Danny tells him, “That’s why I’m taking him down.”
“You’re not working with him?” A man in black asks.
“What? No!” He gestured to himself, “I don’t have this getup because of him, you know. I’m a dead kid. A ghost. He’s messing with the living while carrying traces of the dead, and that’s wrong, you know? Once you kill so many people, it offends the dead and we have to intervene. Once you pass that point, the dead takes your soul. He’s already on his way there.”
“You don’t look dead.” The man in black says while the man in red looks away from him.
“Yeah? And you look like a bat. You don’t have room to talk when you look like a furry.” He rolled his eyes.
“I’m Flash and this is Batman.” Flash introduced himself and his partner, “We and the Joker are from another dimension. We’re trying to take Joker down before he merges our dimensions and takes over both of them.”
“Ugh, not more interdimensional bullshit.” Danny swears. “You can call me Phantom, by the way.”
“You don’t seem suprised about this.” Batman prompts.
“Yknow, after the fifth attempt at interdimensional war you get used to it. This dimension has the most… uh, what did they call it? Oomph? I think it means like, this is the most powerful dimension out of all of them. It doesn’t take long for us to kick them back where they belong. But this Joker dude, he’s persistent.” Danny shrugged.
“I know Joker the best.” Batman told him.
“As long as Joker ends up back in his dimension before he merges ours.” He grimaced. “Been there done that once, it wasn’t pretty to undo. It nearly destroyed both of our dimensions, but some things aren’t supposed to be merged.”
“To work together, we need to know what you can do.” Flash glanced at Batman.
“Do you want a list?”

A Fair Warning
It was only a matter of time, and a long awaited and well deserved comeuppance, when Joker tried to hurt the wrong person or people.
Not everyone was going to play his games like 'Batsy' does. Not everyone will hesitate or let him live should he put his hands on someone to hurt them. Not everyone will believe Arkham could 'fix' him, he just needed more time and help.
No.
This time Joker bit off more than he could chew when he kidnapped the newly hired Arkham psychiatrist Jasmine Fenton (and he had plans, so many plans, for her. With her mixture of Harley's mind and her looks matching Gordon's daughter would sure to cause some chaos and pain in memories) and the girl's visiting sister Danielle 'Ellie' (and did he laugh when he noticed the 'Wayne' adoptive looks the girl had, on the fun he'll have, maybe he'll beat her the way he beat the second Robin just for funzie's, it'll no doubt upset Batman) from Jasmine's apartment.
He had plans to keep the Bats guessing where he was and by the time they reach him it'll be far to late for them to save either of the two girls, he had just sent the little video he taped to the Bats and the police to get the ball rolling...
So...
So why did a shiver run down his spine for the first time in years when they both looked unafraid (it was their eyes that made him shiver, a look of already dead yet somehow alive, something he never seen before. He's seen the light fade from people's eyes before yes, he's even laughed as he watch people desperately cling onto life only for it to fade into nothing as they took a final breath but never have he seen someone, something alive yet dead at the same time before. It, their eyes, held a natural yet unnatural sense as they stared at him, stared at everything that made him Joker and it unnerved him), honestly they looked very bored, and one of them (the youngest of the two, and the one with more of the look of death than life in their eyes) said with a chill tune in their tone.
"Last chance to back out of this Freakshows Reject. You wont like what'll be waiting for you."
The tone alone was enough to send another bone deep chill down Joker's spine.
But instead of listening to his natural instincts, the deep inkling of run blaring at him, Joker merely placed a grin on his face, ignoring the strain he felt from doing so, and said as nastily as he could in order to scare the two girls (BOTH OF THEM STILL LOOKED BORED WITH HIM?!?! Not even a twitch of fear!)
"OH? And pray tell what is awaiting little ol' me hum?"
His mocking question got a wide feral grin from the smaller girl, a grin with sharp teeth and iris eyes beginning to bleed slowly from sky blue to neon green with each second he stared at her and he barely stopped himself from jumping in his spot when Jasmine answered his question.
"Your end."
-x-x-
By the time the Bats get to the warehouse Joker had taken Dr. Jasmine 'Jazz' Fenton and Danielle 'Ellie' Fenton they were prepared for anything and everything to go wrong. As much as they held the tiniest bit of hope that the two young women were still okay they knew better than to really do, this was the Joker that had them after all.
They had manged to narrow down his location much quicker than normal when they gotten Joker's first video and his little 'game' he was setting the Bats on, most locations he gave them were going to be red herrings or traps to keep them busy and it would had worked. Batman and the others would had been searching for hours for even a hint of the clue of where the Joker and his hostages were actually being kept.
It was nearly, not really, a shame all of Joker's plans went to waste when Red Hood had stumbled onto something when scooping out Jasmine's apartment with Red Robin.
You see, not only were they looking for clues at first but something about the apartment Jasmine rented seemed off, Red Robin noticed it first and called in back up encase there was more to oldest Fenton than what they could dig up (oldest daughter of Dr's. Jackson and Madeline Fenton, grew up in a small Illinois town, straight A student and a goal to become a psychologist, has two younger siblings, etc etc) and their suspension raised up more when the moment Red Hood entered the apartment and seemed to freeze for a moment.
Red Hood couldn't really explain it but he said it felt like something was... strange. Not evil bad danger strange but it felt familiar? Like he was a kid again on the streets and had walked into someone else's territory but knew the person wouldn't be too much of a hardass about it as long as he didn't stur up trouble or disrespect. A kind of... as long as you don't fuck around you won't find out feeling.
It was because of this feeling that Jason had manged to stumble across something in the room, his instincts telling him there was more to it, and they had discovered a clunky old custom PDA hidden away in a false floorboard in the office room. Thankfully Red Robin, was there in person because the old thing apparently had a rather ingenious firewall to keep others (aka Hackers) OUT but it did nothing against someone who held the main thing.
But still it took Red Robin almost frying the damn thing to get to open up, turns out the ghost and star stickers on the PDA was a rather large hint of the pass code. Once Red Robin was in the PDA he noticed some rather interesting files, one of them labeled "Gremlin Tracking" with a tiny green blob with red eyes and a green outlined star as the icons.
Curiosity taking a hold on the most curious of the Bats he opened it up, hoping it would need another password, and watched as the screen split into two maps, one was... strange, there was no land marks or anything but the star icon seemed to be right in the middle of wherever it was and the only hint of anything was the name "baby brother" and the map labeled as IR.
The other one showed an above map of Gotham, before zooming into the city, heading towards some abandoned warehouses Red Robin knew of and stopped right at one. This was the green blob icon, the short abbreviation for Gotham in the corner of the map, and the name for the icon was 'baby sister'
Red Robin immediately got onto coms to tell the others of what apparently was a tracker for Jasmine's younger siblings. Some questioned why the young woman had trackers on her siblings, though some of the others snarked back that "oh didn't know keeping trackers on each other wasn't normal. Mind if I loose the one you got on me than?"
After a quick sweep into the warehouses camera feeds, the very few up that could be accessed, done by Oracle they quickly discovered that yes the tracking on the younger girl of the two, Danielle Fenton, was correct and that was where they and Joker were at.
Despite this, Batman decided that in order to make sure Joker didn't have suspicion that they already know his actual location he made sure to send a few of the others to the fake locations.
So here they were now, staking out the warehouse where they could see a few of the Jokers goons walking around and looking for a way into the building without alerting any of them. As they talked low into coms, Robin mentioning a possible way in for Red Robin by how small it was, Red Robin hissing back a "just because you got a growth spurt doesn't mean you can poke fun at my height you little-"
"Wait!" Red Hood suddenly hissed shouted, his tone startling the rest of them and they all turned their heads to him. Batman made a quick and harsh grunt as a way to say "report."
Under his helmet Jason's eyes were wide and wild. He could feel something, something huge was on the rise, like something was out of sight but the energy of it was felt.
And if Jason could feel it from his spot, the Jokers goons all felt the same thing from the way they all dropped their weapons, turned toward the warehouse and looked ready to bolt like scared animals.
Jason opened his mouth to explain but fell silent when the feeling suddenly popped. Whatever was causing the feeling was here and like the calm before the storm he could only watch as the first drop of rain fall.
The next thing they know, was the noise and the screaming.
It was inhuman, a mixture of noise and sounds to hard to explain. The closest they could explain was a thousand voices coming in all at once mixing with radio static that kept changing volume so only few words could be even hinted at, and the angry cawing of crows along with the flapping of their wings as they took flight. The noise was so bad that many who heard it nearly ripped their coms out, or covered their ears. Thankfully it only lasted a few seconds.
Then, the air itself shifted. It felt like the coldest of winter nights and bone chilling shivers ran down their bodies for a moment. The air was suddenly that sharp cold that hurt to breathe sometimes.
The goons surrounding the warehouse fled in fear. Many scrambling to get far, far away from whatever was happening. If they felt even a fraction of what Jason could feel, he could understand. He honestly felt like a small animal cornered by a predator and there was no escape.
Then just as suddenly as it happened, everything shifted again. The noise of Gotham returned to normal, cars honking, a stray cat hissing or a dog barking, police sirens in the distance, hissing steam from a nearby factory. The air went from winter cold to a chill mid winter harbor feel now.
Once everyone registered what had just happened and not wanting to waste anymore time they bolted towards the warehouse, cautious and alert in case they needed to fight. Batman went in first, quickly making his way to the area he knew Joker would be with the Fenton sisters and wondered just what the fuck was that? Did Joker do something? Was he messing with things outside of his usual MO?!
He walked into the room and stopped.
There was nothing.
The room was in fact the room Joker had used to record his first message to them, the layout was correct and the evidence of two people who had been tied up were still there as well, ropes that weren't cut sitting on them, a lone lamp light above shining down from above no doubt to emphasize the two girls were meant to be the 'stars' of Jokers latest show. Thing was, the two weren't there despite the fact Oracle swore she could see them a few mins ago from a camera set up in the room, she would later explain that she heard the noise as well and that all her tech had glitched hard.
The only other thing in the room was, sitting innocently on one of the chairs was a green sticky note and on a tiny pillow was a tiny sickly green orb with hints of purple, white, and red swirling in it.
A note they would later read the following message written on it after carefully examining it over.
'Joker learned not to touch what is mine to protect. Sorry not sorry, but hey one less killer clown and he was warned not my fault he didn't take it seriously... The massive amount of souls wanting to rip apart the Joker's soul into nothing was quite a sight to be honest.
They were so ruthless. Best not mess with the vengeful dead am I right?
PS. I left a tiny gift for Jason Todd aka Robin Two. It's the tiniest piece of Joker's soul left over after everyone else got done. He can finish it off since he's a reverent and all, and well they need their revenge filled in order to peacefully move on later or else they'll be stuck forever in a loop of madness and revenge. So yeah. Hope he likes the gift.'
D.P.'
It took Jason less than a second after those words were spoken out to reach for the orb, ignoring the cautious and alarmed cries of the others, and could feel deep, deep, deep in his own soul the absolute pure weeping joy as he threw the orb onto the floor, the bottom shattering thus it didn't roll away and stomped hard with his reinforced boots. Crushing the broken orb into more pieces and if one listened closely they could hear the pure screaming terror that came from it.
And Jason for the first time in years felt his rage finally leave him.

What traits are they attracted to? | Jason Todd x Reader
I think if someone were to ask this of Jason—maybe Dick in a thoughtless fit during a particularly boring stakeout, Jason would reply with a scowl and an embarrassed shrug. He wouldn’t bother to answer and let the silence lapse into something uncomfortable.
After all, he’ll think to himself—what would be the point in answering?
He’s legally dead in Gotham City, a vigilante with a bounty on his head.
It’s not exactly like he’s spoiled for choice in the dating realm.
And—adds a nasty little voice in the back of his head, one that sounds eerily like the Joker (even dead he haunts Jason like a ghost)—there’s the scars.
His torture under Joker’s hands had left him his body a patchwork of scars and knotted flesh. And each one of them tells a story: the splash marks on his back where the Joker slowly dripped acid on him, watching it eat away at the flesh and boil the fat. The ring of thickened skin around his throat, where he had once (once?) been strangled with piano wire.
And then
(And then—)
There’s the brand.
He’s seen how people react to it—even in a place in Gotham City, brands are not something one sees often. It speaks of an intimacy to violence that even Gothamites are uncomfortable with.
His face is something that makes people look away. The quick, almost imperceptible widening of their eyes, then the averted gaze.
As if he were something hideous
(He is hideous.)
The voice again, snide and burning in acidic, like the slow drip of chemicals on his back, blackening the skin and boiling the fat.
(And he so hungry, that he feels his stomach rumble at the smell of his own burning flesh. There is a certain kind of humiliation in that, an animal kind of shame: the knowledge that, if given the choice, he would have eaten his own flesh just to ease the ache in belly.)
The question echoes in his head, and it sounds uncomfortably like laughter: Who would ever want him?
So when asked—what traits does he find attractive?—he doesn’t answer. He bites his tongue, he pretends he doesn’t care. But in reality, he just doesn’t see the point.
After all, what is the point of answering, when no one else would find him attractive?
Jason has his work, his missions, and his purpose as a vigilante.
He has more than he ever had as a street rat in East End, palms cracked and bleeding as he sorts through yesterday’s trash to maybe find something that will ease the gnaw of hunger in his belly.
(The smell of his own burning flesh.)
He has a safe house, something to keep the rain off his head and to keep him warm during the winter. He has a gun to protect himself.
He has a purpose.
Except.
(Except.)
God help him, he wants more.
There is a hunger to Jason Todd that he is afraid that he will never be quite able to fill.
It is an orphan’s hunger, shared with every abandoned street rat that ever lived in the gutters of East End.
It is a hunger for a roof over one’s head, one that is not made of rotten plywood and stained tarpaulin. A gnawing ache in their belly for a meal that does not have to be fought for at every turn.
A longing for a home, a place to belong.
God help him, he wants to be held dear.
He wants a roof over his head that is not just made of four walls, a place, however safe, that is only ever somewhere to lay his head on for the night.
He wants a meal that isn’t fought for or eaten absentmindedly for nourishment during long stakeouts.
He wants someplace to come home to, somewhere warm to keep out the cold. He wants warm coffee on cold mornings and soft music playing on an old speaker, and he wants someone’s smile when he talks about his favorite book.
God help him, he wants you.
(And yet, and yet.)
Who would ever want him?
So when asked, he does not answer. He replies with a scowl and an embarassed shrug, and he’ll let the silence lapse into something uncomfortable.
After all, what would be the point in answering when no one else would ever find him attractive?

Hi that ground hog day Jason prompt has me in a head lock. The absolute angst and trauma the batfam will experience. Especially the first time before the loop resets with Dick, Bruce and Alfred who have already lived through Jason's first death. The bad memories this will stir up. You could go for extra angst, since Jason's death into he first loop probably wasn't intentional and go with the classic bomb in in warehouse for an extra guy punch. Just really drive all the bats to the brink of their remaining sanity.
Then you look at the fun Jason gets to have, with all the different ways he can kill the joker. Like, you could have some really jaring and comedic tone switches with the pov switches.
Just, I am so looking forward to anything you bless us with from this idea.
The first thing I just thought of was the song Headlock by Imogen Heap and I think it’s funny cuz it sorta fits the differing POV of this particular groundhog AU pretty well hehe
Alrighty! So, I most likely won’t be writing a fic for this, but I do have some plot points written down as some food for thought/inspiration ✨
!!! Considering the mechanics of this particular prompt please mind that these include mentions of suicide !!!
A stranger cryptically tells Jason they’re gonna do him a favor and create a time loop for him ((this could happen in some random supermarket while he’s getting spaghetti. So… the usual Gotham weirdness. Nothing to be concerned about quite yet))
Going with the first death being accidental and happening at a warehouse, we could add to it by having it be a malfunction of Jason’s helmet. Like the detonators being triggered by a stray kick or bullet ((or batarang))
For Jason it’s an instant reset of the day. The Batfam have to experience an hour post Jay’s death before everything starts anew.
Bruce usually spends that hour cradling Jason’s body the way he did after Ethiopia
The first time the day resets the Batfam just think they had a spectacularly bad dream and keep everything to themselves. Jason spends all of ten minutes in a daze, and then he starts making a list of all the things he wants to do to Joker
Jason tends to opt for quick ways to kill himself at the end of each day. Usually as soon as Joker is dead, because that’s when he loses interest. And because he doesn’t want to deal with the fallout. Unfortunately the Batfam assume that all they need to do to end the loops is to keep Jason away from Joker and any explosives.
The batfam start reading into every interaction they have/had with Jason and become increasingly frantic trying to convince Jason that life is great and worth living. Jason is confused. And annoyed. Mostly because it’s becoming increasingly difficult to steal away from them.
By the time the loop finally ends for good, Joker has resolved to stay tf away from any and all Robins forever. He’ll go work at friggin seven-eleven and become an upstanding citizen as long as the Red Hood just STAYS AWAY from him. He regrets many of his life decisions.
Bruce has a full blown meltdown when he realizes that Jason is actively killing himself. Dick isn’t far behind.
Alfred tries to end the loop by sedating Jason, but the loop resets anyway
The batfam are feverishly looking for the catalyst that keeps driving Jason over the edge. Meanwhile Jason is having the time of his life and healing some of his trauma.
The longer the loop continues the more Jason takes notice of how frequently the batfam tell him they love him, and his focus starts shifting from Joker to spending time with them. Telling them things he never would if he didn’t think they’d forget it anyway.
Heartfelt talks and, eventually, teary begging from a batfam member for Jason to please not die again because they can’t take any more. And Jason’s horrified realization of what he accidentally put the batfam through.

DP x DC prompt.
We back, baby! I am warning you that this one is kinda flimsy, but I need it out of my head.
-------‐---‐-------------------
Dark souls esk Danny i guess.
Basicly.
Danny was one of the first heroes to exist, but no one ever exactly recognised that. Hence the fact he isn't very well known. His heroism ultimately ended with the GIW managing to completely seal off the ghost zone. Trapping him as the unwilling King of ghosts.
Danny is lonely. He has his servants, ghost friends, and animals to keep him company. But he hasn't had any real connections in so long. That is, until a new ghost appears in the zone. It's a child, fourteen, just like Danny when he died. The boy calls himself Robin. He shares his tale of woe, and Danny, seeing himself in the child, takes him in.
Robin became like his son. Not only was he the first human soul in the gz in decades, but he was also a source of hope. A connection to the living the ghosts had desperetly missed, a promise that one day they will be free.
Danny built him a library, cooked with him, sparred, played, they did everything together. Sometimes even sitting in silence.
---------------------------
"Hey, Danny?" Robin looked up at the half dead King, and he looked back down at him.
"Yeah, babybird?"
"If you were able to leave the ghost zone, even for just one day, what would you do?"
Danny thought. Humming and momentarily closing his eyes, "Well... I don't exactly have much to go back to. So if I could go back, even for one day..." He gave Robin a very serious look, "I would drag Joker back in with me."
Robin gave a vicious grin. He liked that answer.
---------------------------
The fun, of course, came to an end. Danny woke up one day to find no more Robin. He looked everywhere. The castle, the library, the far frozen, and beyond. Robin was gone, and Danny couldn't understand why.
He mourned.
And he never stopped mourning.
~~~
In the living realm, Jason woke up. No memory of the ghost zone. But with the overwhelming need to drag Joker down to hell.
~~~
Years later, the bats are fighting the Joker in an old warehouse previously used by a cult. Red Hood is there. Both Joker and Hood's blood spilled across the floor. Nothing lethal.
The old dusty summoning circle on the floor sparked to life. It glowed lazerious green, and a tall twisted figure emerged from a swirling green portal. Its joints popped and creeked, voice wheezing, its eyes glowing a visceral green, and its hair was long flowing and white. The body of the creature was shrouded in black dress, resembling an ancient mourning shroud. Its loud and wet sobs filled the room.
"JOKER!" It screeched. A gient clawed hand reached out, gripping the clown. The creature began to sink back into the portal with a groan. Dragging the Joker with it.
He screamed. Batman grabbed his hand. Nightwing grabbed Batman's cape. Red Hood, with an exhasperated sigh, gripped Nightwing's arm. Red Robin practicly wrapped himself around Red Hood's leg, and Robin clung to the back of Red Robin's suit as they were all dragged into the swirling portal.
~~~
The Bats woke to a swirling green and purple sky, floating doors upon the horizon.
Jason gazed at his surroundings. Floating islands, doors, and a castle not too far off. It screamed 'home' to him. He knew where he was, and most importantly, he knew where he needed to go.
