Ok so idk how I came up with this but you guys know how most dp x dc Aus go so what if Danny just outright didn’t know the justice leads existed.
Like if he heard of them from Tucker or Sam he just thinks that their from some superhero movie and we can and to the funny but by having Amity in a full on media black out that Danny lifts (he got baking lessons from Technus and Tucker) because when he found out and ask Tucker to do it he just said that he didn’t think it would be ok to do it so imagine the out right shock of having the Justice League start to investigate Amity.
So on the Justice Leagues side of things they just chilling over at the watch tower only to aficiona alarm to start ringing and when they check what it is they’re staring at the computer for full on minutes processing that they missed a full media black out on one town and Constantine or Zatanna idk who you decide take one look at the screen with the articles on ghosts and start to immediately gather stuff to got there.
So know like an a third of the Justice League is over at Amity investigating everything and when Danny sees them he just goes up to them and says “cool cosplay dudes but there aren’t any conversations soon” and everyone who herd that just fucking states at him like for a solid minute and then just someone idk who maybe superman just asks “do you know who we are?” And Danny just stares at him for a solid 10 seconds and goes “I don’t recognise your character and I’m guessing your from a superhero movie but I don’t watch those so no I don’t really but you do fit the description my friend Tucker gave me on that guy from that movie what was it called again I think it was The Justice League” and everyone just fucking states at him and then someone on the background that overheard the conversation just shouts “IS THAT WHY YOU NEVER TALKED ABOUT THEM!?” and he just turns around and with a look of completar confusion on his face and everyone is just staring at who they think is the most innocent person to exist.
So now we have a JL trying to tell Danny that they’re actual superheroes and Danny’s over there like the most confused person in the world just staring at them while they explain and he’s just internally freaking out cause he did know there where more superheroes and thought that he was alone in this.
This could be so much funnier with it being a demon twins AU or just an AU where he trained with the league of assassins for some time before coming to amity and I just showed that the Justice League is an actual thing because he just thought they were something that Ra’s made up to make his behaviour seem like it was actually for supervillain reasons to keep Danny and Damian from leaving him instead of it actually all being true.
And if we go from that rout and then add Damian and Danny keeping in contact after they separated we have a Danny who think that the only superhero’s to ever exist are the Batfam and now imagine if Damian was there and just goes up to him and straight up punches him and then hugs him mumbling how much of a ducking idiot Danny is and everyone around them is like confused as fuck about this whole interaction because it’s well damian and it’s just a whole bunch of superheroes being confused and almost all of the people overhearing and wanting to do the same thing Damian did because Danny’s a fucking idiot.
If you don’t like it with Danny then imagine it after a fight with one of his rouges Danny as phantom just doesn’t recognise any of them except for the Batfam because of the same reasons as the demon twin AU thing and Damian recognises him even as a ghost just looking at him and the same punch and hug thing happens but now we have an angry Damian just berating Danny on how much of an. airhead he is and it goes on for like an hour with the JL just rebooting on the background and Constantine and Zatanna just running around the whole town looking for the source of the ghost problem.

I'm kind of confused on John Constantine's characterisation. But, to be fair, I did come across him in the dp x dc crossovers, so...*shrug*
It's just that he ranges from the most pathetic, self-centered but also accidentally altruistic smoking asshole who couldn't care less if you burned alive to a soft-hearted tsundere who wants to help but lets nobody see that and tries to be an asshole to drive them away.
Also the thing about him backstabbing everyone he spends more than five minutes with, but still being on the JL's speed dial???? And everyone says he's an asshole who's more trouble than he's worth but they still turn to him for help?
If you have the time, could you please clear that up a bit? What is he like in the comics? The good ones I mean.
Thank you and have a nice day.
hello! sorry this took me a minute- had a lot to say. its a long post SORRY
buti think the simplest way to describe it is that in regards to the dc x dp crossover, they focus more on the dc universe's john constantine- which is the mainstream universe, with big shots like superman and batman and all of the things that make him, for the most part, seem like he's the best in magic and this man who is on, as you put it, the justice league's speed dial. he's the butt of most jokes, he never actually shows his bisexuality in a healthy manner because he's more likely to be joking about it than actually being in a relationship with a man (his usual love interest is zatanna, and ofc, bisexual people are allowed to date someone of the same gender, but what annoys me is that they are willing to joke about his bisexuality without showing him actually dating these men that he jokes about).
however, vertigo comics (which is dc's black label: comics like hellblazer (john's line), lucifer, the sandman, etc. reside because the topics they touch are for mature audiences- and not just because lucifer's naked 90% of his comic run) is where we get john constantine. in hellblazer, he starts off as a terrified man who's willing to do anything to survive- and, honestly, i'd say that's still the case throughout the series. he seems more real. more possible. more like someone i can connect to.
all the magic he's learned isn't this "inner power" that we see in characters like zatanna (love her, no shade to her) who was taught her magic by her father and has been around it her whole life, or characters like the enchantress. he picked up some books and started digging through them and learning to regain some semblance of control of his life because of his abusive family and just overall not being the most popular kid.
a lot of john's character stems from trauma- his family life, newcastle, most of his relationships with other people, the things he does in general, being in ravenscar, etc.
i said something a while back that i think still stands to this day- he's not a hero because he'll do anything to save his friends or himself, but overall, he comes first. to put it in perspective, there are times he knows things are dangerous, and yet he still asks for favors. also, this guy was dying of lung cancer (yknow. because he was smoking as much as he was) and he didn’t stop smoking, of course. no, he basically pulled this huge con on a bunch of higher people in hell and was like “well now if i die, a whole war starts” so they? made sure he would live. that’s the kind of shit john does. he’s a con artist.
while john doesn't like to sit on his feelings too long, he does care- he just doesn't like showing it. he shoves people away when they get too close, and when someone hurts him- for example, kit moving back to belfast and essentially breaking up with him because of the fact people attacked her to try and get to him, john was horrible. he was cruel. he called her cold, which he knew would hurt her. then, he went into an immediate depression and was homeless for,,, what, a year? because he blamed himself for so much shit and kit was just what made him keel over.
on top of that, john is pretty political. his whole character is- he talks about climate change, he talks about racism, he’s aware of his privilege, and in one of the more recent runs of hellblazer, he shows that too. shame that one wasn’t very long- would’ve liked more of it. however, his dc run doesn’t show any of that. it’s like they’re showing john but without getting into the gritty parts of him that make him him. it’s like they’re scratching the surface and won’t just take the metaphorical shovel and slam it into him. which sucks- i like the idea of him being around the other characters, somewhat, but i don’t want him to be the go to guy when it comes to dc comics’ magical people. he certainly isn’t that. they have those- they’ve got dr. fate and zatanna right on the league, why do they need john?
his character in vertigo is definitely not a hero, and dc wants him to be that. they want him to be the magic guy they have on speed dial. they want him to be the sexy guy with a cigarette in his mouth flirting with everyone in sight. they don’t want to delve into the darker territory because it’s going to scare people away, and the ones that are scared away probably shouldn’t be interacting with his character in the first place.
honestly, i’m probably missing a lot, but this is getting to be storybook length as it is, so sorry for my little tangent but i hope this helps!

I'm all for angst, and this whole prompt reminds me of Ghost of a Chance, a Teen Titans x DP fic that has the Justice League show up.
Danny being distrustful of the JL is awesome. When Danny rewrote reality he rewrote EVERYTHING though. The JL wouldn't remember a thing unless someone was able to reverse the reality gauntlet. Not saying it's IMPOSSIBLE, but I'd imagine it'd take more than any one magic user to fully undo it.
SO
Constantine figures out someone rewrote reality and reset time. They're missing at least three months worth of memories. That someone managed to do that is terrifying enough. That's god level power all on it's own. And once Batman and the rest of the League are aware that something happened, they won't rest until they know what.
Cue Constantine trying to undo a GOD LEVEL SPELL. Zatanna is helping, but they're both only mortal. Doctor Fate would be much better for undoing this, but the asshole refuses to help, as what was undone helped the forces of Order by destroying a Major Artifact of Chaos (tell me the Reality Gauntlet WOULDN'T be considered such since giving anyone the power to rewrite reality on a whim is a recipe for disaster/chaos). So he and Zatanna are on their own.
They eventually craft a workable spell. It can't undo whatever was done, but it should restore their memories, or as much as their magic can manage. Anything that gets left behind should be mitigated by restoring multiple memories so they can fill each other in. They would've been better off restoring everyone's memories one at a time so that each person could remember as much as possible, but that would take far longer and be far more draining. Plus, John is known for being impatient, so mass spell it is.
The League get their memories back.
They remember the identity reveal. They remember being approached by the GIW. They remember Phantom 'kidnapping' Sam and Tucker. They remember fighting the Ghost Boy, and how he was able to Overshadow Superman and turn him against their team.
They don't remember being suspicious of the GIW claiming ghosts are non-sentient, when Danny can talk and strategize against them.
So now the JL is back to thinking that Phantom is a threat, with only Martian Manhunter being suspicious that something more is going on. They obviously need to investigate this, contain Phantom before he decides to become a nation/worldwide threat, but who could they send? Phantom most likely remembers everything, and will probably be on guard if they show up in Amity. One of them will have to go as a civilian to get a scope of the situation, while the rest of the League gets back in contact with the GIW.
put Danny Phantom in the DC Universe during the events of Reality Trip
Reality trip was a two-part episode where Danny, Sam, and Tucker had to run around the US to find the three stones of the reality gauntlet. Danny's identity has been revealed to the world and Freakshow is holding their families hostage, all while the GIW are hunting after him.
Running from the bumbling ghost hunters was bad enough, but competent superheroes that are faster, stronger and smarter than him? A disaster.
Now, the Justice League is hunting him under the presumption that he is dangerous, perhaps even that he kidnapped Tucker and Sam and is behind their families' disappearance.
Danny hasn't met an adult that doesn't hate his ghost half, so after the Justice League has never helped with the ghost attacks, and are now hunting him, he doesn't even try to plea his case to the adults, not when they have GIW brand guns strapped to their backs.
Danny, being desperate to get his family back, might resort to methods he wouldn't usually use.
He might overshadow Superman and use his strength against his teammates or
to beat them soundly enough they're unable to come after him anymore. Stuff he isn't proud of and doesn't talk about with Sam and Tucker.
Maybe they successfully even capture Danny for a small time and he gets the full betrayal of his heroes not hesitating to hand him right over to the GIW
In the end, when Danny finally has the reality gauntlet, Danny's only option is to reverse time and wipe the mind of the last summer from the entire world. This fixes all their problems but also erases any of the alliances they might have formed along the way. They can pretend they don't know what it's like to have the Justice League hunting them, to experience Batman's extensive planning, or see Superman angry
Of course, that doesn't mean Danny has forgotten when years later the Justice League comes knocking, asking for his help, inviting him to their team.
Danny hasn't forgotten what Batman's extensive planning looks like, or what Superman looks like angry. He still knows most of their identities and the names of their loved ones. He knows how to get to the watchtower and crash all its technology. He knows the methods they will go to capture a person who's done nothing wrong and what the inside of their jail cells looks like.
Just saying, the angst potential is limitless.

the ultimate list of comic book recommendations
Hello and welcome everyone! So if you don’t know, my name is Meg, and I happen to be an avid comic book/graphic novel reader and collector (even though I often write in a more fanon universe). So I thought for this post I would compile some of my favorite books for y’all.
I’ll categorize these, but don’t be afraid to try something completely different that what you’ve read before! And for new readers, this list can be a great way to find out where to start. So with that in mind, here’s the list!
DC COMICS
“So I like Batman but I don’t know where to start!”
Batman: Year One by Frank Miller - A classic detective Batman Story; a great starting off point for the character and comic books as a whole.
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller - Another classic, highly rated comic. Features an older Batman and introduces Carrie as Robin.
Batman: The Long Halloween by Jeph Loeb - My brother’s favorite. Gripping from start to end. More detective Bats.
For fans of darker/more artistic/”different” Batman stories
Batman: White Knight by Sean Murphy - Batman “bad”. Joker “good”.
Batman: The Black Mirror by Scott Snyder - Bats and Joker in an unlikely, drug-induced team up. Some of the best art in Batman.
Batman: Hush by Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee - Big fan of both writers. Very popular book in the fandom, but I’ve never personally read it (recommended by my brother).
For fans of Robins
A Death in the Family by Jim Starlin and Under the Red Hood by Judd Winick - pinnacle Jason stories; also for those looking for Tim Drake’s introduction.
Robin: Reborn by Chuck Dixon - Ignore the awful cover art; this is Tim Drake done right.
Red Robin by Christopher Yost - Hard to find this series in a physical copy so just read it online. Defining Tim Drake in one series *chef’s kiss* beautiful.
Super Sons by Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason - The best Damian out there in my opinion, plus the addition of the always adorable Jon Kent
Ensemble
Justice League by Geoff Johns - Say what you want about n52, but this is the best JL out there (don’t fight me on this). Great for beginning readers.
Kingdom Come by Mark Waid - Alex Ross is simply the best comic artist out there. This one is a classic, but probably shouldn’t be your first rodeo with DC.
Brightest Day by Geoff Johns - Again, not for beginning readers; requires A LOT of background knowledge. But amazing characterization despite the hoard of characters it features.
Justice League Dark by James Tynion IV - Ugh I just love Zatanna.
DC Bombshells by Marguerite Bennett - The best damn DC AU ever made
MARVEL COMICS
Must Read!!
Vision by Tom King - Quite literally a modern masterpiece. Just, ugh, if you take anything away from this list, it’s go pick up Tom King’s Vision. Don’t like Vision? Doesn’t matter go pick up Tom King’s Vision-
Street-level heroes just trying their best (my favorite kind of comics)
Hawkeye by Matt Fraction - Hands down my favorite comic series of all time. Perfect characterization of Clint and Kate. Pick these up before the Disney+ series comes out :) Cannot recommend this enough.
Ms. Marvel by G. Willow Wilson - Actual ray of sunshine Kamala Khan will take over your life. Follows her coming to grips with her powers as a POC teen who needs to balance school, home, and hero life.
Let’s hear it for the ladies!
Captain Marvel by Kelly Deconnick - Liked the movie? You’ll love this. So much heart and humor.
Dark Phoenix Saga by Chris Claremont - I got my copy signed by Claremont and almost cried. First comic I bought with my own money; has a special place in my heart.
Jean Grey by Dennis Hopeless - What can I say? I’m a Jean stan forever. A nice pick-me-up after DPS. Features a young Jean in the wrong universe.
Spider-Gwen by Jason Latour - Liked Spiderverse? Boy, do I have the comic for you.
Misc and Third Party
Watchmen by Alan Moore - Simply a masterpiece
Space Riders by Fabian Jr. Rangel - A fever dream from start to finish, in space. Amazing artistry.
Umbrella Academy by Gerard Way - Speaks for itself. The show is too damn good.
WHAT I’M READING NOW!
The New Teen Titans by Maru Wolfman and George Perez
Batman: Last Knight on Earth by Scott Snyder
DCEASED
Teen Titans: Raven by Kami Garcia
Hope these help!! Let me know what you think if you pick any of these up. Feel free to message me for more recs or information on any of these. Also, feel free to reblog with your favorite comics!! Lmk if you want to see more rec lists like these or even comic reviews :) Thanks!

That one where Valerie turns the JL against Danny has me up in arms against this chick.
Like, I have no sympathy for Valerie and so I shall project those feelings onto Danny. (Warning: I’m about to throw some headcanons in here)
Red Huntress and the Justice League are on Phantom’s tail and Danny starts yelling back at Red, asking why the hell she told the JL he was a villain. And Red Huntress starts yelling back so they have an argument, and eventually the chase slows to a stop as the Justice League watches this go down and learns the truth behind Red Huntress’s hatred of Phantom and Phantom ranting at her about his own mistreatment of every living being that was supposed to help him.
RH: You ruined my life!
DP: How was I the one to ruin your life?!?
RH: Your stupid dog cost me and my family everything!
DP: Okay ONE, Cujo is not my dog! I was trying to catch him and take him back to the Ghost Zone. Like I do for all the other ghosts!
DP: TWO, Cujo was an Axiom security guard dog that was put down because of your dad’s shiny new security system. So if anything, it’s your dad who ruined Cujo’s life!
DP: THREE, all that happened to you because of Cujo was that your dad was fired! That’s it! You’re acting like you’re some poor orphan child on the streets because your family was mauled by a ghost dog when that’s not the case!
DP, imitating RH: “Oh boo hoo! I’m Red Huntress! My daddy lost his high paying job so now I can’t live like a spoiled rich girl anymore! My rich and popular friends at school don’t want to hang out with me anymore! I have to get a job like everyone else now!”
DP: Remind me again, which one of us is the dead teenager? Which one of us no longer has the opportunity to grow up and achieve their dreams? Which one of us is automatically labeled a malicious villain and a unintelligent monster in the same breath just because of their species? Which one of us has been in the ghost hunting business longer than the other? Which one of us has to drop everything they’re doing to go stop a ghost from harassing the living day and night!?
RH: I do that you menace-
DP, cutting her off: BY CHOICE! You choose to do this, when you don’t have to! And normally, I’d commend you for that.
DP: But then you go and use it as an excuse to throw your ‘ghosts are all evil’ propaganda BS around! You’re not even doing this to save people, you do it just so you can shoot ghosts to your heart’s content. Isn’t that right, HUNTRESS?
DP, clapping his hands together: So let’s recap. A dog that was killed because of your dad accidentally got him fired when he came back for his squeaky toy, and you’re no longer rich or popular at school.
DP: In exchange, you were given a ghost hunting outfit, weapons, and a hoverboard by a corrupt fruitloop, and then again later on by a ghost, to assault as many ghosts as you want whenever you want. And it is whenever you want because you’ll ditch school or your job at the first opportunity to go ghost hunting even if I or another hunter in already on scene.
DP: Meanwhile, I am the one and only fatality that occurred because of the Fenton’s Ghost Portal opening and releasing the Dead, Deathless, and Neverborn into the land of the living. But I will never be mourned because there is no body left behind to discover and bury.
DP: Any good deed I do is automatically met with suspicion and accusations of manipulation or as a cover for some dastardly plan I apparently have.
DP: I have been framed by another ghost for kidnapping the mayor when the photos and videos taken of the incident clearly show me being the one dragged around, and the only people who get a free pass from property damage or any bad deeds they’ve done while under mind control is Superman and the Justice League apparently.
DP: I have no chance of growing up and achieving any dream I have or held because the US government labeled me and any other being that is composed of, produces, or subsides on ectoplasm as unfeeling yet malicious, unthinking yet manipulative, inhuman monsters that do not deserve rights all because of the racist and biased ‘research’ provided by the Fenton matriarch and patriarch, that not even their own children believe in by the way.
DP: But no, your right Red. It was definitely your life that was ruined.
I need more dpxdc crossovers making use of the way technically, Valerie is Amity Park’s hero. Phantom is the menace running around destroying shit with other ghosts, and Valerie is the vigilante who’s dedicated herself to stopping them.
It can go a few ways- a post-reconciliation fic where Danny and Valerie have moved past their rivalry and now they buds. bros. besties. run around and corral ghosts together. the Justice League is working off of way outdated info and they think Valerie is still the sole hero of Amity, fighting off Phantom and other ghosts as they try to take over the Living Realms. They try to interfere with a fight to help Valerie against Danny until they both stop like "dude why are you interfering in our spar, we're busy here, go away" and continue trying to knock each other into the ground.
Or they approach Phantom, thinking he’s the hero and not knowing anything about Valerie, until she shows up and attacks Danny, yelling about how he ruined her life. and now the JL think Phantom lied to them about being a hero and they’re on Valerie’s side helping her hunt down Danny, who is 10x more stressed than he was that morning before the Fucking Justice League started hunting him down trying to capture him while Valerie tells them all about how evil ghosts and Danny are, with help from the Fentons
Or Danny is an established JL member, and the JL doesn’t really know much about Amity or that Valerie exists at all, until they’re facing a relatively big ghost problem and Danny's like “alright we’re calling in the calvary”. The JL expects another ghost, like the clone Phantom apparently has that he brought to work one day, and then some woman shows up, punches Phantom in the arm for never calling her, and then the pair wreck ghostly shit together while everyone watches in awe
Or the reverse, where Valerie is an established JL member or at least auxiliary member, and she’s their on-call ghost expert. Until one day there’s a question she doesn’t have the answer to and she’s like “alright one sec let me call my friend Danny”, and an hour later a ghost flies through the wall, hugs her, yells something excited about SPACE!!! and helps them with whatever problem the JL is having. Everyone is like “hey i thought you hated ghosts?” and Valerie just goes “yeah, but this guy is cool.”
Or the JL approaches Valerie in Amity Park and she introduces herself as Amity Park’s sole ghost-fighting hero, don’t ask what happened to the last guy. Everybody fully assumes she was dating “the last guy” and he was killed by the ghosts, and she took his mantle to get justice. Turns out, no, “the last guy” is Danny and he’s no longer the Amity Park hero because now he’s the ghost king, and he’s in charge of the fuckers now. Nobody ever clarifies that no, Danny and Valerie were not a couple who fought ghosts together until Danny was killed by a ghost, forever warping his personality and forcing him into the position of Ghost King. Because you’re not supposed to ask about it.
There's so much you can do with it, I have so many thoughts
