That's definitely a look of pride, admiration, mirth and not least a not insubstantial amount of WANT 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries - Fan Dancing
So I enjoy Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries for a lot of reasons, but one of my favourite things about it is the relationship between Phryne Fisher and Jack Robinson, an inspector for the local police force. They fall pretty solidly into the free spirit and dependable/grounded type dynamic, with Miss Fisher providing the eccentricities and Jack the voice of reason.
I feel like a pitfall they could have fallen into is making Jack too stern and disapproving all the time - when writers take the grounded personality trait too far I always wonder why the characters are even hanging out with each other if they’re so opposed to the other person’s beliefs/behaviour. One of the things I like best about Jack and Phyrne is the even though Jack acts very straightlaced (and is very straightlaced, in a lot of ways) he really enjoys watching Phyrne have fun and shock people.
Case in point from the episode that prompted me to make this post (s2e01):
Phyrne is undervocer as a fan dancer at a brothel, and while most of her colleagues are going like this
Jack is going like this

Uh... nickname headcanon time? I guess?
For a while, I needed to have Ninjago nicknames ready in my brain whenever I wrote. Then I would have to remember the ones the fandoms made up. Then I decided "fuck it; just make a list so that it's ready to go."
So, here's random list that I have slowly gathered up. As you can see, I list the character, and then I'll put the nicknames that they'll call the others below that. Some nicknames I am well aware exist, but don't like (example: "Pebble" for Cole) or my creative juices die for characters I rarely write about (literally anybody that's not the OG 4), so this is not a comprehensive list of every nickname within the fandom. Just ones that I like and would like to use at some point.
If you have any other ideas, comment below. Have fun!
Divider created by drawloverlala!
Cole
Zane: Frost/Frosty, Frosted Flakes, Snowflake, Tin Can (rarely), Pinky, Snake Jaguar/Jaguar (occasionally), Frostbite, Ice Cube

Cole: Rocky (occasionally, Rocky Dangerbuff), Honey (glacier), Angel (glacier)
Pixal: Detective (occasionally)
Jay
Sometimes goes into a southern dialect thanks to his upbringing. (Ex: dearie, hun, etc.) (Zane may eventually start picking up on it himself. Nicknames may also be game references.
Cole: Rocky, Earthbound, Cake Pop (bruise)/Cake Pops (bruise, with child), Boulderbrain
Zane: Bucket o' Bolts (rarely), Mr. Mint (Candy Land), Vanilla Ice (rarely), Ice Bucket, McFlurry, Frostbite (techno), Icee, Gumdrop, Jack Frost

Zane: Glaceon
Jay: Jolteon, Thunderbolt
Kai: Blaziken, Flareon, Charizard, Torchic
Lloyd: Leafeon
Skylor
Nya: Dewdrop (amberphoenix)
How is it that I came up with more ideas for Nya and Skylor than Lloyd? I mention them even less than I do him. I might eventually add to this, but only if I get significantly more ideas.
I'm just gonna tag all the ships because they're mentioned. I don't even like a few them. Sorry!

genshin on a minecraft smp
there was this prompt on reddit i saw asking what the characters would be like on an smp and this was what i came up with :) really silly and fun, i actually really enjoyed thinking about this
yoimiya is the redstone maniac, and she’d probably help klee build really complex tnt contraptions to grief the server
diluc is the mob farmer; builds the entire structure and spends literally all his time farming and enchanting. probably also enslaves the villagers
klee builds a zoo but the only thing inside of it is creeper exhibits
nahida’s the gardener, kaveh probably helps her build automatic farms and all the cool shit
bennett dies all the time—falling into lava after just having found diamonds, a bunch of creepers snuck up on him, etc etc. he can literally never progress in the game because he loses everything and anything he builds gets exploded by creepers (or klee)
xingqiu is just the little shit who steals stuff and does small bits of griefing. im also convinced that he and fischl would be writing a roleplay script for the server and forcing everyone else to comply
nilou is just sweet and happy, she just wants to build a pretty home and get along with everyone :) she’s the one who always helps others out no matter what, whether they need food, weapons, armor, or blocks, she almost always has something to help, and if she doesn’t then she’d be willing to help you get it.
wanderer grinds everything by himself and completely ignores everyone. might even try to beat the dragon by himself too. xingqiu and fischl explain him in the lore as the rude old man who no one ever sees, but occasionally he will grant luxurious gifts to anyone he deems mildly tolerable. the only people who have ever received such gifts are sayu and layla because they do jack shit and are afk most of the time, and he thinks it’s funny.
venti is the first one with elytra. cons yoimiya into giving him all her fireworks. farms music discs
albedo and sucrose are predictably the ones with all the potions. they’ve also scoured the nether; they know it better than anyone else, and they make all the ice bridges for quick nether travel.
layla and sayu are always the ones asking to sleep first—if he is online, there will be a following “fuck you” from diluc, as he is the server’s resident mob farmer and batman kinnie
alhaitham refuses to participate in the “lore” because “fuck you” (fischl cries) (xingqiu demands a duel, for thou hast made his fair lady shed a tear) (alhaitham obliterates him and goes on with his day)
xiangling forces chongyun to share a house with her because the only thing she wants to do is make a farm and kill animals and throw food at everyone and thats literally it. she’s probably really frustrated there aren’t more elaborate meals to make. forces chongyun to build the house and mine and get armor and weapons and literally anything that doesn’t have to do with food (xingqiu visits sometimes to say hi to xiangling and then bully chongyun). she probably also mooches off of nahida and kaveh’s automatic farms
cyno is immediately elected chief of police in the “lore” (the only other people on this “police force” are xiao and heizou)
xiao is completely serious about his job, heizou is not. cyno is a mix of the two. basically all they do is show up occasionally and act really intimidating (or, in heizou’s case, flirt with everyone). yanfei (the judge in the lore) is sick of them for wrongfully incarcerating innocent people over and over again
tighnari and collei have an ACTUAL zoo that isn’t just full of creepers
diona lives with diluc and literally the only thing she does is breed cats, she has so many that it lags the server if you walk into the chunk, so the “police” have sometimes had to stop by and make her spread them out. she’ll comply but then the next day there will be even more cats because she does everything out of spite. also steals everyone’s nametags. she is a convicted felon, charged with multiple accounts of armed robbery, assault, and intentional failure to comply with the wishes of the server, which resulted in harm to one or more players or the entire server (it nearly becomes unplayable because of all the cats so they ban her)
zhongli terraforms the shit out of everything
dori creates a monopoly off of some resource by taking all of it in the vicinity and anywhere remotely nearby so that if someone didnt want to buy it from her they’d have to run thousands of blocks away
fischl builds the entire castle from last year’s summer event, crowns herself prinzessin, and appoints her knights (kaeya, mika, jean, bennett, razor) who start to have beef with the police and then there’s a war and then it gets resolved by klee and yoimiya blowing everything up

About Kuni's family
Although I already discussed about the dragon-like creature, I want to cover one aspect I never cared about before. Okay, first of all, I want to make it clear — in 2018 I myself came to the conclusion that the dragon-like shadow is a vengeful spirit of the killed animal. Yes, most likely it was inspired by demonic boar gods from Princess Mononoke, since Samurai Jack had several references to Miyazaki's works (Totoro and Jigen from Lupin The Third are the brightest examples), and the creature can share some similarities with spirits from myths, — and that's absolutely fine and cool — but the point here is that these possible sources of inspiration (if they really were inspiration, of course — the crew could come to this idea independently or be inspired by some other sources) don't matter. A good show/book/film is self-contained and itself has small details, which hint answers to a viewer or reader. Simply saying, during watching you came to some thoughts and conclusions about some characters and events and lore exactly during watching the show that gave to you details and hints to answers. I watched the show, I watched the Haunted House episode and I myself came to certain thoughts and conclusions about what the dragon-like creature is — i.e. I used arguments exactly from the episode (the painting that demonstrates how the hunter attacks the boar family), not from various myths or other movies etc. Second, what I want to point out — if the crew is inspired by something, it doesn't mean that their characters (or their interpretations) will be the same as their preimages. Since in SJ universe the supernatural creatures (that humankind considered as gods and created myths and epic stories about them) are real, I would even argue that they are not gods, but supernatural aliens, whose real history and true nature have almost nothing common with mortals' perception of them, i.e. at best 12% of events, embodied in myths, can be true. I.e. they're not what they seem.
So, now about Kuni and her family, who became the victims of the dragon-like creature. The question is simple — is the family dead or alive? Is Kuni dead or alive? Well, fans, who really enjoy to study myths of many cultures, can find some elements that can give impression that the family is dead, but I won't agree with this statement. And I have my own arguments, again, based on what the show demonstrated. I.e. I look at it from the perspective of the show and how it demonstrated the story, i.e. visual storytelling. First of all, if Kuni's family is dead, then the episode would show it directly — that Kuni's parents and brother are ephemeral ghosts, who hug and say goodby to his daughter, disappear in the sunlight and rise to skies with the wind, 'cause they are free now. The Lava Monster episode, for example, blatantly shows how valkyries take away the cursed warrior's spirit after Jack defeated him and freed him from the lava shell he was imprisoned in for many years.
But Kuni's parents and brother don't go. They hug each other and stay in their house. Not to mention the dialogue between Jack and Kuni — Jack thought that her family is dead after he killed the creature and hence destroyed its inner dimension, but they are free and alive.
While other prisoners inside of the shadow beast already looked like black silhouettes, i.e. they were here pretty long time and hence dead, so after the beast's death their free souls can rest in peace. Hmm, it means that the father killed the boars many years ago, and exactly after many years, when he made his own family, the creature returned for revenge and finally reached him and his family... Second, Kuni is alive for sure. She can hold the toy, Jack holds the girl as well.
And Kuni casts a shadow.
Even when they move near the statue of a goddess, you still can notice the shadows.
And when the dragon-like monster absorbs her family again, she is still in the house, not in inner prison-dimension of the monster.
So, Kuni is alive. Now about her parents and brother. First of all, they cast a shadow. Even in this illusion trap the creature created for Jack.
Second, I doubt that a ghost can sweat. Like, it is not a trick from the creature. It wasn't planned, and the father's nervous reaction confirms it.
Third, this creepy moment. Why would ghosts feel suffocation and epilepsy(?) with hypersalivation instead of simple turning into black silhouettes and returning to the creature's inner dimension? Nope, they are alive. And the monster simply tortures them, hiding inside.
Fourth, look at how the beast absorbs Jack's soul. It didn't devour Jack's body (I would assume, the fact that Jack's soul was strong enough to rebell and became free and challenged the creature for the battle is the reason, why it didn't devour his body — if Jack failed or wasn't able to become free, the beast would absorb his body as well), and after Jack defeated the monster out of inside, his soul returned into his body. While in the case with Kuni's family the monster absorbed their bodies as well.
But after death of the creature, they are free again.
So, I confidently think, they are alive.

Lava Through Time Chapter 1
I had someone ask me to write a story following Kai and Cole through time, so I'm working on it slowly.
I don't think there's any trigger warnings, let me know if I need to add some.
Kai gave the pot poured the spaghetti back in the pot, the water having just been drained from them, before turning back to the sauce he was making. Giving it one final taste, he decided it was finally ready. If only the other half of his family was home so they could eat.
He ran a hand through his hair as he stepped back to look at the clock on the microwave. 7:36, Nya should have been back hours ago. School let out at 3:30, and it only took 30 minutes to get back home. Before she had left this morning, she had said that she wanted to go to the mall with some friends. Kai had assumed that meant an hour or two at most. Looking back, he probably should have clarified which friends they were and where exactly they were going, but he didn’t want to be too clingy. Even though he was raising her, he didn’t want her to start looking at him as a parent instead of just an older brother. He’d give her until 8:00pm, that was her curfew after all. After that he would go out and look for her.
Taking a seat at the table, he pulled out his phone in hopes of distracting himself from the anxiety currently encircling his mind. About fifteen minutes later, he heard the front door open, followed by Nya’s voice as she yelled at him from the hallway.
“I’m back!”
“Where have you been?” Kai accused, darting away from the table and walking towards her. “I was getting worried.”
“Relax, it’s not even my curfew yet. I’m not late.”
“But you almost were. Who were you out with anyway?”
“Just some friends from school,” Nya replied casually, refusing to meet Kai’s eyes.
“Define ‘friends?’” He specified. Nya knew how to get around questions she didn’t want to answer, he’d learned that the hard way. She never straight up lied to him, she just phrased her answers in ways that made it seem like you had an answer.
“Just friends. Pearl, Jack, Crystal, some other girl I don’t know the name of.”
She started heading towards the kitchen, stopping to check the stove before continuing to the table.
“Why are you so worried? You worried I have a boyfriend or something?”
“Yes, Nya. That’s exactly what I’m worried about.”
“You’re just jealous because you don’t have a boyfriend.”
Kai spluttered in denial. “That’s not the point! I just want to make sure you’re safe!”
Nya simply raised an eyebrow at him as she dished up her food.
_____________________________________________________________
“Come, my feet or tired. We will take the horse carriage.” With the final declaration, Wu closed the door behind him.
“We have horses here?” Jay asked. “Unlikely. We’ve been here for months and have explored these grounds many times over. We would have come across any animals by now,” came Zane’s response beside them.
Cole simply rolled his eyes at his teammates, instead turning towards the newest member of their group. “It’s Kai, right?”
“Who’s asking?”
Cole chose to ignore the teens snarky response, as the leader he had to set an example. He wouldn’t let this hot-headed boy break him. “My name is Cole, it’s good to meet you new guy.”
Kai only narrowed his eyes. “I take it you’re also new to this ninja business. Don’t worry, I’ve got your back.”
“Thanks, but I won’t need your help. I’m going to get my sister back, then I’m leaving this place and all of you behind as soon as I can.”
Cole gave his shoulder a comforting squeeze as he moved to stand in front of the shorter male. “Hey now, that isn’t much of a team spirit.”
“Because we aren’t a team!” Kai shouted, pushing away from Cole and retreating out of his reach. “I don’t need a team! I don’t need anyone!”
With that final declaration he turned and retreated inside. But as he walked away Cole heard him whisper under his breath. “I never have.”
“What’s his damage,” Jay asked. “I didn’t see any physical blemishes. He appears fine to me.”
“No Zane, I mean why is he acting cruel?”
“Perhaps he just does not know how to be part of a team.”
Cole shook his head as he started to head inside. “Well, he’ll have to get over it. Like it or not we are a team now, he’ll have to get used to it.”
____________________________________________________________
“Alright, take five!” Lou declared as he slammed the door to the studio.
“I’m starting to see why Cole’s so sour. It’s cause twinkle toes here couldn’t deliver the goods.” Jay mocked, before switching to a softer tone. “Is that why you ran away?”
“Oh, I could deliver the goods!” Cole shouted back. “Look, let’s just go along with this until we can get our hands on the cup. And then we can leave, and I can erase this whole fucking disaster from my memory!”
Coles stormed out of the room, and the ninja heard some distant shouting between the father and son before the front door slammed behind him.
There was a moment of silence before Jay spoke up. “I didn’t mean to upset him.”
“It’s not your fault,” Kai responded gently. “I’ll go talk to him, don’t worry.”
Kai found Cole outside lying on the roof. The black ninja had the hood of his sweatshirt pulled up and his headphones overtop of them, and his eyes were closed against the dying light of the evening. After taking a quick breather, Kai walked over and laid down next to him. He didn’t speak, opting instead to wait until Cole started the conversation.
“It didn’t always used to be like this.” Kai raised his eyebrows in acknowledgment, waiting for him to continue.
“When I was a kid, we got along. Well, when my mom was alive, we used to get along. Our relationship started getting rocky as soon as she got sick. He went a full year without talking to me after she died, and I couldn’t for the life of me figure out why. Then one day, I walked into the kitchen before school. And there he is, the man who has gone out of his way to actively avoid me for months just standing in over the stove singing along to some song to the radio. He had the biggest smile on his face as he flipped pancakes over his shoulder.
“He said ‘There you are son! I was wondering what was taking you so long! I made your favorite meal, take a seat!’ and I remember it so clearly, those were his exact words, the first words he had said to since mom had died. And I told him I couldn’t. I had to leave or I’d be late. He said, ‘don’t worry about that, you don’t have to go to school today, I thought instead we could bring some flowers to your mom.’
“So, I got to skip school that day, we went and picked out this beautiful bouquet from a local florist in our neighborhood.” There was a soft chuckle at the memory. “She always loved purple and orange, so we got orange roses and purple larkspur. We didn’t know much about flowers than we liked those to, so they filled it in with everything, they were the experts after all. And it was truly gorgeous, I couldn’t stop thinking about how much mom would have loved it. We stopped and got lunch on the way there to, dad let me choose.
“We brought mom the flowers, and we had lunch with her, and we spend hours in the cemetery just… talking. It was so nice, and different, and I finally felt seen again. But after an hour or two I asked him. You know, I needed to know. Why did you ignore me? And he told me that it was because I reminded him of her. He said that everything I said or did, or even just looking at me, all that he could see was mom and he couldn’t handle it. And apparently, he talked to, someone- I don’t remember the specifics- and they told him to use it as an opportunity. That pushing me away wasn’t helping him grieve mom, it was making sure he lost both of us instead. Ad then he looked me in the eye and said that he didn’t want that. He said he lost her, but he didn’t want to lose me too.
“And that day forward things were great. We had conversations, we ate together, watched movies. He listened to things that I said and took an interest in my drawings and hobbies, I went and saw him perform, our relationship was fantastic.”
The two laid in silence for a while. Kai was hoping that he would continue, but it was clear he didn’t plan to without prompting. “It sounds like you and your father were very close.” Cole nodded, eyes still closed.
The red ninja sat up, tapping at the others knee as he turned to face him. Cole followed hesitantly. He brought his headphones down to sit around his neck but left his hood on as he looked at his lap.
“How did it go from great to… how it is now?”
Cole’s breathing got heavier as the time passed, and Kai waited patiently, even as the tears started to fall down the earth ninja’s face.
“When I was a sophomore, I realized something about myself. And I was so certain that my dad was support me. So as soon as I was sure, I came home grinning and told him that I needed to tell him something. He told me that we had to leave soon if we were going to make it to the restaurant on time, but I had the floor for the remaining of the time. So, I took the floor, and I told him.”
Kai tilted his head trying to get the other to look at him. He was certain he knew where this was going, but he didn’t want to assume. “What did you tell him Cole?”
Cole reached up to wipe at his eyes as his sobbing increased. “I told him I was gay.”
Kai reached out hold onto his shoulders, trying to offer some comfort. He didn’t want to cross any lines, but still wanted the earth elemental to know he was there for him. None of the ninja had come out to each other, but they all had assumption, none of them malicious. Kai himself was bi and had plenty of unpleasant interactions with people, but it broke his heart that one of his best friends experienced that with someone he was supposed to feel safe around.
“After I told him, he just stared at me for what felt like hours. Until he stood up and told me he was canceling the reservation, and he just went back to ignoring me again. Just like when mom had died. And I felt horrible all over again, and I had to get out. So, I ran away, and this is the first time I’ve come back. He’s talking to me now, but I can tell, he hasn’t accepted it, and I don’t think he ever will.”
Cole fell forward into Kai’s lap, and the red ninja rubbed his back as the other sobbed. “I’m sorry, Cole, that isn’t fair. You didn’t deserve that. But I promise you, no matter what your father may say to you, you are amazing and worth it. And we love you, all of us, me, Jay, Zane, Wu. You’re a part of our family, and we’ll always be here for you.”
Cole nodded, but otherwise didn’t move as he continued to cry. The two of them sat under the sun set, until the sobs had quieted, and they had both fallen asleep. They only moved when the chill of the night chased them back inside.

Gift for GaboKoopa
It was a good day at the elemental dojo, and Liam and Jack are training to do their balance. "Ok, we have to focus a lot on balancing, or else we are going to fall." Liam said. "Sure, we will never fall to this one!" Jack said. Just then, a wasp came to Liam and Jack, and it is trying to attack them! "Ah, get this wasp away from us!" Liam said as he loses this balance. "I hate wasps! I hate them!" Jack said as he also loses his balance as well. They both fall down to the ground with a thud. "Oof, seems that wasp messed us up our balance." Liam said. "Yes, I think we need to try again, or else the wasp is going mess us up again." Jack said. Liam has an Idea on where him and jack could go somewhere to have a safe place to do their balance training with no distractions. "Well, to be on the safe side, we could be able to go to Bowser's castle and ask Lemmy to do the balancing act for us." Liam said. Jack was very unconcerned about Liam's idea. "Uh, are you really that sure? He wants to be with the Koopa Troopas, and even the koopalings as well." Jack said. "Hey, remember we been to Bowser's castle to try out Bowser's cola?" Liam said. "Oh yeah, I remember now! and there is a new koopaling as well and his name is Gabo!" Jack said. "That's it! Gabo is the balance master, just Like Lemmy! Let's head to Bowser's Castle and talk to Gabo!" Liam said as they went into their Karts and went to Bowser's Castle. They have arrived at Bowser's castle, and they could feel the heat from the lava. "Gee, this feels very hot in this place. It feels like this castle is inside the volcano!" Jack said. "I know, but let's head into Bowser castle and Chat with Gabo." Liam said as they walked to bowser's castle an knocks on the door. The doors opened, and a Koopa Troopa appeared. "Hey, welcome to Bowser's Castle, How can we help?" The Koopa Troopa said. "Well, we are here to see Bowser, is he around?" Jack asked. "Well, he's busy doing his world domination at the mushroom kingdom, is there anyone that you want to see?" The Koopa Troopa said. "How about Gabo, is he around?" Liam asked. "Him? Yes, he is in Lemmy's room, doing his balancing act." The Koopa Troopa said. "Yes, we have to do our balancing act again because when we are training our balancing, there was a wasp that made us fall off the platform, and we decided to go to Bowser's Castle to be on the safe side while we train." Jack said. "Ugh, Wasps are very annoying, but let's head on to Lemmy's room and talk to Gabo." The koopa troopa said as they went to Lemmy's room to see Gabo. The Koopa Troopa knocked on Lemmy's room. Lemmy opens the door to see them. "Hey, do you need my help? And also, who are those two bone heads?" Lemmy asked. "Well, there names are Liam and Jack, and they are to do some balancing training." The Koopa Troopa said. "So, do you have anything that we could balance on?" Liam asked. "Yes, I do! I also have Gabo with me to teach you how to become the best balancer. Hey Gabo, we have some new members to learn!" Lemmy said as Gabo sees them. "Uh, hi there." Gabo said. "Hey, seems Gabo is a little bit shy." Jack said. "Yes, he really is a bit with new members, So Gabo, would you like to take out the balancing equipment out?" Lemmy asked. Gabo Nodded to him. "Sure, If I could find them." Gabo said as he takes out the balancing equipment. "So, that is the big round thing that we going to balance on?" Liam said. "Yes, that is the big round thing that you, Jack and Gabo are going to balance on!" Larry said. "Well, this is going to be tricky because this can go when we balance" Jack said. "I know, but be sure to focus, and be safe! So, let's begin your balancing training!" Lemmy said as Liam, Jack and Gabo went on the balancers and begin. Liam also has a stick with him to maintain his balance. "Ok, just try to keep your balance on it." Liam said. But for Jack, he is moving his balance. "Woah, I knew this moves when I Balance on it!" Jack said. "Jack try to keep your balance, we don't to fall off again like last time." Liam said. Jack maintain his balance very slowly. "Ok Jack, you can do this, believe in yourself!" Jack said as he keeps his balance. "See, this is easy to do right?" Gabo said. "Ok, I'm just take out the paper wasps and they will hover all around you!" Lemmy said as he uses the paper wasps around Liam, Jack and Gabo. "Ahhhhh! A WASP!" Jack yelled. "Jack, it's fine. It's just a paper wasp, so there is no need to worry. Just try not to get distracted." Liam said. "Oh, just stay focused Jack, it's just a paper wasp." Jack said as he tries to focus while the wasp goes around them. Lemmy stopped swinging around the paper wasp. "Right, the paper wasp has gone away now, you can now continue on Balancing now." Lemmy said. Minutes later, they have finished doing their Balancing training. "Wow, seems we increase our balance now! Thank you very much Gabo!" Liam. "Uh, that's ok I guess." Gabo said as he started to become bashful. "Seems he's red in the face now, but thank you very much Lemmy! Now we will go back to the elemental dojo to focus our balance and ignore the wasp that we encounter!" Jack said. "Right, come back when you need us!" Lemmy said as Liam and Jack went back into their karts and drove back to the elemental Dojo. Back at the Elemental Dojo, Liam and Jack are doing their Balancing training, and their is a wasp coming to them, but they decided to ignore it. The wasp went away because they didn't get scared. Liam and Jack has finished their Balancing act, and they are very happy about it. "Seems our Balancing training has gone well! Now let's go and do our fire training!" Liam said as they went to the fire section at the elemental Dojo.

lucky’s eyes were so painfully lovely that the moment they landed on her at last, jack had to look away, gaze falling to her feet, moving with contained desperation to the cows being dragged inside their warm and safe barn to call it a night. fondness crossed the brown of her look for a moment at the sight, but then lucky spoke once more and jack’s vulnerability turned to incredulity to confusion to rage so fast, she felt choked by the speed and wrath of her feelings. she looked at her friend with wide, questioning eyes, and her mouth opened and closed several times, words stuck in her throat, prisoners of the ire she felt like lava clogging her veins. until they weren’t. “ for you, you fucking imbecile ! ” jack finally managed to spit, so full of anger it made her whole body shake. “ i was terrified for you, you brainless, insufferable— ” a strangled sob interrupted her words, eyes looking away, hands curled in fists tight enough to turn her knuckles white. and then she couldn’t hold the tears back anymore, she didn’t want to — in the end, jack behrens had never been truly good at hiding who she was, what she felt. “ i saw you there, luck, when— when it happened, ” she mumbled, a murmur so soft and weak only how quiet the sanctuary’s nights were allowed it to be heard. “ a-and … i saw— i saw the boys carrying you back here, and i wanted— god, i needed to see you so badly, but you— you— ” her teeth clenched in frustration and anger and pain — she didn’t want to feel like this, she didn’t want this despair. “ you didn’t want me, luck … and— and i get, okay ? ” she rushed to say before being interrupted because she understood, she always will, and didn’t want lucky to misinterpret her again. “ i just … i thought i still had your honesty, at least. that you still … cared enough to— to be clear about what you wanted. or about what you didn’t. ” defeat permeated the tone of her last words and her shoulders dropped along with a sniff — she was exhausted and the only thing she wanted was the one she couldn’t have.
There was a reason she'd moved slowly, but Lucky wasn't pleased by her correct instincts. She retracted her hand with a nod and a swift exhale, one whose resulting cloud of vapor she watched float away into the night. Jack's words were clear enough - she didn't need to look at her, and with tears stinging behind her own eyes she definitely didn't want to. She didn't think it would have mattered this much, and maybe it wouldn't have if she'd done things differently. But here they were, standing in the barnyard with a chasm growing between them. This was what Lucky had hoped for, right? Some space to clear her head, some space to regain control. But this wasn't what she wanted; it was too much space, and any control she thought she had floated away with her breath on the cold night wind.
A surge of bravery brought her eyes to Jack's, swimming. Her cheeks were on fire and there was a lump in her throat so large she could hardly swallow past it. "You were terrified?" Lucky didn't recognize her own voice, tremulous and small. Her hands tingled, restless, and she wrapped herself in her own arms.
Another painful swallow.
"D-Did you see what I did?"

The End of Everything
(8k words, tw for graphic violence, blood, gore and suicidal ideation (not really but it’s best to be safe), read it below or on my ao3)
The last thing Tommy hears before his final death is his best friend screaming his name.
The first thing Tommy feels as he comes back to consciousness is Tubbo’s hand on the back of his neck.
---
After the end of the world, Tommy, Tubbo, Jack, Dream and Punz wake up in a place that no longer exists, teetering on the edge of oblivion. DreamXD offers one last game.
(Or, Tommy is tired of not being dead yet, Tubbo is trying to get him to play, Jack has his last grievances to settle, Dream and Punz are bastards and DreamXD has a few tricks up his sleeve. Fix-it fic for the DSMP Vol. 1 finale.)
Yes, this was that one I wrote in 24 hours on Sunday night/Monday morning. Full fic below :))
The last thing Tommy hears before his final death is his best friend screaming his name.
From the hole in the wall they burst, Jack and Tubbo, haloed in fire. Tommy turns his head as he hears Tubbo scream his name one last time, throwing himself across the gap, arms unfurled. He goes to reach for him, scream Tubbo’s name back, but the word never reaches his lips in time and his arms never get there as the white rushes in all around like the arrival of a blizzard. Tears form in his eyes that are vapourised instantly, along with the rest of him, as the bright light envelops them all. Then there’s nothing.
Then, there’s nothing.
Tubbo said it would be like TV static. Sudden, painless. For a second he feels very, very hot. He stretches his arm out just the tiniest bit more, no reason, just momentum, and feels parts of him colliding with other parts of him no longer connected to him. In the space of a few seconds, where there once was a boy, there is nothing. Every cell eviscerated. Memories housed in burnt neurons firing into nothingness soon fade with the body. The whiteness is so bright and so hot, but not uncomfortable. He was told it wouldn’t be uncomfortable.
Told what wouldn’t be uncomfortable? By who?
There’s just nothing. There is no one. He is no one. The body could regenerate, the mind be made anew. An interesting prospect. A novel idea. Refit the world, retell the story. Again. Again. Again.
No.
The first thing Tommy feels as he comes back to consciousness is Tubbo’s hand on the back of his neck.
Without opening his eyes, he knows it’s Tubbo because of the scars. They’re a little softer than his normal skin: always have been. He knows them too, each dip and wrinkle. He could map them out like land if that wasn’t a really weird thing to do. Tubbo’s hand, with its soft scars, cradles the back of his head. He’s got an arm around him, holding him steady, turning his body into Tubbo’s, whose knees are under Tommy’s back. His limbs sprawl out on rough, cobblestone ground, legs aching, one arm a tad warm from proximity to lava. Uncomfortably so. He pulls it to his chest, whimpering.
Tubbo said it wouldn’t hurt.
“Took him long enough.” “Bit of a wimp if you ask me.”
Voices, familiar voices, voices it hurts to try and place. Tommy focuses on not moving, not listening, barely breathing. He’s dead. He should be dead. He cracks an eye and sees Dream, Punz and Jack’s legs standing facing him. He closes the eye again.
“Seriously, why was he out so long?” The voice that responds cannot be placed either, but that’s not Tommy’s fault. It crackles with pure energy, booms with power. "Proximity to death. Limbo gets its wires crossed. It becomes harder sometimes to get back. You remember?"
“Up, c’mon,” Tubbo whispers to him over the others conversing with whatever otherworldly being is in the room, pulling him into an upright position. “Tubbo-” Tommy goes to tell him to stop, then throws his shaking arms around him instead, ignoring the way his insides feel like they’re sloshing around within him like liquid jelly in a mould. Tubbo hugs back, smelling overwhelmingly like smoke. Who cares, they’re dead anyway. Unless-
“Are we dead?” Tommy asks, reluctantly pulling back. Tubbo sighs. “Yes. Yes, we are. The nuke-” “Don’t care. If we’re dead-” He turns his head and flinches violently back into Tubbo with a small shout. Tubbo sighs again. “Tommy, meet DreamXD. And, yes, he’s a god.”
The swirling white robes actually flow as if upon some ethereal wind despite the fact they are very indoors. His (his? his) head is heralded with a floating broken crown of gold, continually circling the mask-ball head. The resemblance to Dream is uncanny - must be why the man looks so thrilled - and puts Tommy right on edge. “Come on,” Tubbo whispers again, putting his arms under Tommy’s shoulders and standing. “The liquidy-feeling stops after a minute or so of being upright.”
As they get to their feet, DreamXD waves his hands and the light from the lava inexplicably dims. As he speaks, all five maybe-mortals draw into a circle around him: Tommy feels, not for the first time, like a puppet being manhandled into place.
“Finally, Tommy. I was getting anxious that you really wouldn’t come back to us. I needed the fifth player for my game, I’d hate to have to go get someone else.” “No thanks,” Tommy’s nervous laugh just escapes from his rapidly constricting throat. Everyone stares at him. “I don’t want to play anymore games.” “Tommy-” But DreamXD cuts over Tubbo’s plea and Dream’s taunt.
“Are you sure you would want to give up on this unique opportunity? It’s not going to be that painful, dear.” “Tommy, just hold on a minute,” Tubbo’s eyes lock with his, almost unnaturally. “Let him explain.” “I don’t want to be played with anymore, Tubbo,” Desperation bleeds into his tone as he tries to reach for Tubbo and finds he can’t move, which only makes the constricted feeling worse. His shoulders fall, “I’d rather just- die, and be dead.” “Tommy-” Tubbo is silenced by DreamXD again, so he gives Tommy a sad half-smile, and pleads with his eyes. Tommy blinks back unshed tears and turns obediently to look at the god.
“Thank you. I will explain this once, and only once, so make no misconstrutions of my words.” He raises one hand with a flourish, and returns it holding a book. Light emanates from the pages and in his other hand he holds a quill with an exuberant feather. “Some call me a God of Death,” He smiles unnervingly with a tilt of his head, “They’d be wrong. Some prefer God of Life. Closer, but still no.” The arm holding the book multiplies, and soon there are five arms holding books in a circle and a further five hands holding quills descending on the pages to write furiously. The god’s voice reverberates with a sound like thunder. “I am the God of Wishes. And Dreams. And Protector of the End, Master of Hauntings, Merchant of Souls, Purveyor of Stories, blah, blah, blah. But foremost, I am the God of Wishes.” His smile stretches uncannily. The other members of the circle seem unreassuringly less creeped out by his many titles as he clasps two more of his hands.
“Today was a bad day, wasn’t it? All those lives, snuffed out like candle flames, all those stories left so unfinished, so unsatisfying!” He practically squeals with joy. “Awh! Here is my game: I give you my tome and my quill and you write your wish. And then, if you pass my test, I grant your wish before sending you off to your afterlife. I know, how generous. Graciously giving you the chance to tie up a loose end before you depart this life. Because, despite my best efforts, someone-” The mask-ball head and its golden satellites wheel on Dream, who is doing his best to appear casual. “-managed to drop the thread. But it doesn’t matter! Because you’re here now, and you’re going to play, RIGHT?”
Despite not having eyes, the cross-shape on his head is definitely looking at Tommy, who shrinks back in very sensible, mortal fear. “What’s the test?” He asks in a voice so small. DreamXD cocks his head gradually all the way to one side, “It’s a surprise!”
Tommy nods before he can find out how that voice became so deranged. Tubbo’s fingers interlace with his as he tries to remain calm. This isn’t fair. He should be dead. He always knew living was hard, but it turns out dying can be a bitch as well. Tubbo puts a hand on his arm and squeezes gently. “Breathe, Tom.” “What’s the fucking point in that, we’re dead aren’t we?”
“Oh,” The god swirls his robes in a cheery circle as he addresses the whole group again. “And it can’t be, ‘Bring me back to liiife!’ That’s just rude.”
The swirling mass of arms becomes but two, and DreamXD offers the book first to Jack. He takes the book and the quill with steady hands that Tommy certainly doesn’t possess, thinks for a moment, then writes his wish with deliberate strokes of the pen, almost smiling as he does. As he lifts the quill from the page, it slithers away with a small cracking sound to the next blank canvas. Jack shrugs and passes the book to Punz as indicated. They take it forcefully from him, all but snatching the pen, sharing a look with Dream, then scribbling down their wish. The page flips, they pass it to Dream, and he also writes down his wish at speed, like they had prepared a contingency plan for this exact situation. Dream passes it to Tubbo, almost dropping it, and Tubbo repeats the ritual, writing his wish with surety, only biting his lip a little as he puts the ink on the page. Finally, he passes the book to Tommy, meeting his eye and giving him an encouraging nod.
Only, when the book is in Tommy’s hands, he doesn’t know what to do. He’d tried to anticipate the others’ - Dream and Punz will no doubt be trying to get back alive, Jack, fuck, Tommy barely knows Jack anymore, maybe he’ll wish for some hair, Tubbo, probably something sweet about Michael? - and now he has no idea what to write for himself. What he wants. Well, he wants a lot of things, but he’ll never get any of them. He wants to get pastries from Niki’s Bakery with Wilbur again. He wants to listen to his discs and hold them tight against his chest. He wants to be fifteen once more, sitting on the banks of the river outside L’Manberg next to Tubbo, drying their clothes in the August sun beating down on them after they went for an unplanned swim. But he’s here, in a body long dissolved, in a building that no longer exists, with the memory of the white-out of the end of the world seared into his mind. He has no hope of receiving what he wants. Needs. Prayed for night after night, wished and hoped and longed for.
Well, it’s worth a shot.
Tommy writes his wish and the book slams shut in his hands with a noise like a sudden intake of breath. He holds aloft to DreamXD the tome with trembling arm and it is taken by their perhaps-benevolent, perhaps-sadistic present deity, who immediately begins rifling through the pages. He reads and reads and glances up at Tubbo and shrugs and goes back to reading and chuckles at one page and then stops at the last.
“No, no, this won’t work. Tommy, I need another one.” “Wha- Whatt- I, I- I don’t have-” “It’s too vague and too big, I need another one. Gods, did no one tell you to manage your expectations?”
Before Tommy can take the book back, Jack peers through the god’s shoulder at the book. “I- Oh. Oh, that’s-” “Let’s see this,” Punz snatches the book from the god, who only seems to step back and allow it as Tommy chases after it, making his protests painfully clear. Punz grabs his wrist and holds him at arm’s length while sharing the contents of the page with Dream, and soon enough the laughter is coming thick. “Oh, oh, that’s too good.” “Agreed. And I thought the coming to fight us earlier was ridiculous, but this is just pathetic.”
Tommy wrestles his hand out of Punz’s grip, “You bastards, give me that.” “Hey Tubbo,” Dream holds the book out to Tubbo with the arm furthest from Tommy. “Read this.”
Tubbo takes it and closes the book. “You’re both fucking awful. We’re dead, about to go to limbo, and you’re both acting like fucking clowns.” The two of them laugh like a pair of high school bullies, Punz straightening up first, “Apologies, Tubbo, but killing us all doesn’t give you a leg up in this.” “Hey, excuse me, it was me, that killed us all, okay?” Jack crosses his arms. “Just so you know.” “Fine, whatever, I don’t care,” Dream adjusts his mask with one hand. “The point is, fuck all of you, but especially Tommy. We had the mercy to let him go after killing Tubbo, which, hey! Apparently that wasn’t true, and then he comes back and talks me into believing we can make the server better before we all get blown to smithereens. That’s the meaning of awful. He deserves to feel like shit for this.”
“Whatever,” Interrupts the god. Tubbo hands Tommy the book back, the quill that never left his hand gripped tight like it was known all along he wouldn’t be allowed what he wanted. He had known. Fucking awful world. He thought he’d be off it by now.
He puts the tip of the quill against the page and watches as ink flows out of the nib, blotting the sheet with a small, black lake. A tear hits the page, diluting the inky water and forming a small river in his topographical map of failures, and he sinks to his knees, cracking the quill in his fist, wanting nothing more than to curl up and die as the jeers resound around the room.
“Tommy-” “I haven’t GOT another!” It’s useless, it always is. “I don’t know! I’m tired, I can’t- Make up a wish for me, please-” Tommy holds the book out towards Tubbo, until the leather binding slips from his fingers and hits the floor with a dull thud. Dutifully, his best friend kneels, retrieves the book from the floor and the quill from Tommy’s fingers. Ink leaks from further up the feather than it should, bleeding endlessly, marking their fingers with similar jet-black stains. He puts the feather between his teeth and opens the book to the correct page, and Tommy watches as the feather falls from his mouth as he looks slowly and sadly back at him. He then simply stands, walks across the floor and returns the book to DreamXD.
“I don’t see any problem with it.” “Are you serious.” “I see no issue with it. No reason why you shouldn’t be able to grant it. Unless you’re not as powerful as you pretend to be.”
This seems to have made DreamXD ticked off, which Tommy would calculate was probably a poor move on Tubbo’s part. “Would you give up your own wish for it?” Tubbo’s hands, playing with a loose thread on his sleeve, still. “It’s okay,” Tommy says hastily. “I don’t need it.” “Tommy, that’s not-” “That’s pretty shit, man,” Jack says. “Tubbo doesn’t need your approval for that. He can have his own damn wish without spending it on you.”
Tommy’s shoulders drop again and he shuts his eyes. He’s vaguely aware of Tubbo chewing out Jack, but he has no energy left to care. He hadn’t been expecting to make it through the day, for obvious reasons. He did not save anything for after the nuke fell. That was supposed to be it.
‘Very depressing train of thought tonight.’ Tommy, startled by the booming voice now inside his mind tries to cry out, but finds the sound never comes. ‘Don’t do that. Do you want to get bullied more than you already are?’ He squirms in place, unable to speak, unwilling to move, scared and tired and waiting for it all to be over. ‘Just think, idiot. I can hear you.’ ‘Why are you doing this please stop please stop I thought I’d get to be done by now but I don’t want to be used anymore. Please.’ ‘Are you done yet.’ ‘Please I’m so tired I just want it all to stop please.’ ‘Do you really want to just die?’
With two years of exhaustion radiating outwards, Tommy goes to think-speak ‘Yes’, and then doesn’t. Maybe if he doesn’t say anything, DreamXD will understand how wearied he is. ‘You’re a total downer. I mean, “I wish to be happy for a bit” is not the most outlandish request I’ve had, I was just expecting something a bit more…’ ‘Selfless?’ The god looks away from Dream and Punz. ‘...Elaborate.’
He hangs his head in shame, ‘I should wish for someone else. That’s the good thing to do, isn’t it? But, I- I want something for myself. For once. Something guaranteed. Something actually good, and not fake and breakable and-’ ‘I’m starting to remember why I don’t like talking to mortals.’ ‘Sorry. Can you bring Tubbo back? He has a son. Michael should grow up with a dad.’
The god makes no reply, and when Tommy lifts his head, he is met with that unnatural smile. ‘Sorry. Missed your chance to amend your wish.’
“Okay, here’s how this is going to go.” Sporting a gormless expression, Tommy is suddenly encumbered much, much more than his previous eerily-weightless feeling. Armour digs into the backs of his knees and shoulder blades, in some places clipping into the floor where he’s kneeling. The weight of a sword and shield materialises at his side. Netherite. Oh, joy.
“A simple contest,” The god swirls through the air, robes flowing around him as he spreads the ordinary amount of human arms across what again becomes a battlefield. “I’m sure you’re all familiar by now. Tommy and Tubbo against Punz and Dream,” DreamXD allows an interlude for Dream and Punz to howl with laughter. Tommy lifts his eyes to meet Tubbo’s and the latter comes over to help him up, armour scraping against the cobble floor. They conduct a silent conversation with three looks and a pair of tentative smiles, and Tubbo curls his fingers around Tommy’s. Looks like it’s me and you again, one final time.
“Jack may join whichever side he likes. If Tommy and Tubbo win, Tommy gets his wish.” Dream wheezes like a sick dog. “If Dream and Punz win… they get their wishes.” The delighted expressions on the two and a half formerly-laughing faces instantaneously drop. “What? What about Tubbo and Jack’s? Why do we have to fight for ours?” The masked man walks straight up to stand directly in front of the god, a bold show of defiance. One smiling facade glares back at another and the god replies with meticulous articulation.
“You have to fight for yours because I say so. And I like Jack and Tubbo’s better. Theirs are cute. More… whimsy.” The side eye that the god gives Dream as he swoops out of the way could slice the man in half. “Besides, I thought you’d like this game.” “Dream, he’s right. We know we’re gonna win this.” Punz sweeps their axe over their shoulder as they stare Tommy and Tubbo down. “We’ve only won this battle… What, twice already this week?”
When Dream doesn’t reply, Tommy realises he’s staring at Jack. “What?” “Nothing.”
“Take up your arms, fighters!” The two best friends drop each other’s hands to pick up a sword and a shield respectively. DreamXD twirls up to the ceiling of the chamber and back down again, gleefully perching on the roof of the cell. “And don’t worry. It’ll probably hurt, but it’s not like you can die twice! Not like this anyway.” “Hey,” Tubbo quietly calls Tommy’s eyes to meet his. “It’s been an honour.” He replies with a smile that doesn’t reach those eyes, repeating a false refrain sung too often, “To the ends of the earth.” “To the end of everything.” Tubbo earnestly amends.
The first crossbow bolt flies in the small space between them, and they abandon their moment, surging forward as a pair. Tommy clashes blades with Dream as Tubbo takes Punz to task with his axe. Dream presses their swords towards him so Tommy ducks back, swinging beneath and slashing a shallow wound in Dream’s right leg as Dream brings his sword down directly in the middle of Tommy’s shoulder plating, bouncing harmlessly off. Tommy ducks, Dream rushes forward, chasing him across the floor, agility versus pure power.
Punz calls Dream’s name across the room: Tommy jumps onto a small pillar in time to see them kick Tubbo’s shield across the floor and into the lava as the younger advances, axe raised, pinning Punz against the outer wall of the main cell with Jack reloading a crossbow to their immediate left. Dream also turns to look, scowls, and Tommy makes the split-second decision to jump.
The clatter of armour against armour sends a shockwave through his bones as they both go to ground. Dream drops his weapons and grabs the back of Tommy’s leg hard, pinching and pulling so violently the strap on his armour snaps and the plates protecting his upper leg come away in Dream’s hand. Across the room, Jack cries out, Tubbo shouts something to him, Punz whoops: Tommy discerns none of these over the sound of his shield smashing repeatedly into the side of Dream’s head. The hardened porcelain-like material of the mask protecting his face shatters after the fourth hit, but Tommy doesn’t stop until Dream throws him off and stands over him, placing a foot on the wrist of his sword hand.
He leers over Tommy, blood dripping intermittently from the gaping wound on the side of his head just above the left eye, gore coating the edge of Tommy’s shield. He feels nothing, not even as Dream raises his foot and slams it full-force into the centre of Tommy’s chestplate, instantly bruising skin with the first impact, breaking ribs with the second. He wonders if this numbness is due to the fact they’re already dead - small mercies - or perhaps he’s just incapable of feeling the pain anymore. Reached capacity. No more room for it.
“You doomed all of us,” Dream rasps, face slick with blood, kneeling on Tommy’s chest that protests with the weight. “All of that talk about getting a simple life back, working together, that was all just talk, wasn’t it?” Across the room, Jack fights a losing battle against Punz while Tubbo struggles to find a gap in the action that’ll allow him to shoot foe and not friend. “That’s sick. You were just waiting for the slaughter. Well done. Well fucking done, Tommy.” He sweeps hair out his eyes, looking every bit the crazed maniac Tommy remembers beating him to death only metres away, frolicking on the grid above L’Manberg, laughing as Wilbur pressed the button.
I meant it, he wants to say. We could’ve gotten out alive, if only I’d known before, if only my own plan hadn’t already doomed us.
You’re right, he also wants to say. It was all a set-up. I hate you. If you didn’t continually antagonise and torment me and try to control me we wouldn’t be in this position at all. I hope we win. You don’t deserve your wish.
(But I deserve mine.)
Instead of speaking, he rolls, ignoring the way his chest feels like a box of child’s bricks; pieces loosely jangling together, swirling in their container. He comes up on one knee before Dream knocks him down again with another well-placed kick to the chest, so this time he reaches for Dream’s discarded crossbow and fires the loaded bolt. Dream dodges but it’s enough to give Tommy the time to put his feet back beneath him and take off running, firing another bolt in Dream’s general direction. Preferring his talents as a kamikaze homing missile to his swordplay, Tommy rams into Punz at full tilt, knocking them away from Jack and into the shallow lava.
“Behind you!” Tubbo’s warning comes just in time for Tommy to see Dream before he clobbers him with his shield, wielding it like a two by four. Tommy crumples like a paper bag just as a crossbow bolt whizzes over his head and strikes Dream satisfyingly in the shoulder. Tubbo cheers. Jack swings his axe in Dream’s direction just as Tommy scrambles to his feet, just as Tubbo turns his crossbow on the figure of Punz pulling themself out of the lava, looking burnt and pissed as the glowing magma rolls off their shimmering armour. Suddenly, Jack starts shouting right in Tommy’s ear, and it’s not doing anything for his ears.
“What’s wrong with you, man?” “What’s- What?”
Tommy barely parries a strike from Punz’s axe, scrabbling for his shield, not understanding why Jack is choosing now to do this. “What do you mean, what’s wrong with me? What are you-” Tommy barely gets his shield between his face and Punz’s axe as the netherite bites through the wood. Across the room, Tubbo cries out and Tommy wants to go but can’t, and now bloody hell-
“You’re always poking into other people’s business, putting your nose where it doesn’t belong. We can fight our own battles, y’know!” Tommy does his best to convey his indignance to Jack while engaging in Punz’s standoff, “This is my business, we’re on the same side!” “We haven’t been on the same side in a very long time, Tommy.” Tommy redirects his momentary flash of anger and confusion into throwing Punz off and turning to see Tubbo very ineffectively hacking at the arm Dream has gripped around his shield hand. He twists Tubbo’s arm with brutal force and the resultant scream feels like a knife to the chest.
“What do you mean?” “I mean I hate you, you killed me and I’m only doing this for Tu-” Punz’s next strike sends Jack stumbling back towards the edge of the cobblestone platform. Without hesitation Tommy drops his sword and throws out an arm to grab Jack’s, pulling him back. “I can fight my own fucking battles man-” They both stagger back onto the platform with the momentum and Jack colldies with Punz. “You drag everyone else into your messes, you’re selfish and you don’t care-” Punz stamps on the side of Tommy’s discarded sword and catches, turns and stabs it towards Jack with one swift movement. Tommy shoves him aside and feels the sword pierce his stomach through the gap where his missing leg armour should protect the bottom of his torso.
Pain isn’t the correct word for it, but the feeling of a foreign body intruding where it isn’t welcome sobers him right up. Jack stands, weapons sinking, looking rather gobsmacked, as Punz rips the sword out and Tommy sways on unstable feet that suddenly become crossed beneath him as he sits down hard. A mock round of applause given by one fills the quiet air, and Tommy looks through his warped vision as Dream drops his hands and drags Tubbo across the floor by the shoulder to throw him next to Tommy and Jack. Their shoulders clash in a way that makes breathing difficult for Tommy for a moment, though he’s pretty sure Tubbo has it worse: fucking drenched in crimson with no clear point of exit, audibly wheezing, holding his shoulder in position. All three of them look like shit compared to Dream and Punz with their moderate burns and single impressive head injury.
There is a clear winner in this contest. But then, there was always going to be a clear winner.
“Jack,” Tommy whispers. “I dunno what I did, but- I’m sorry, man. I- I’m sorry.” “It’s fine.”
“Fighters!” The god’s voice crashes over them with thunderous aplomb. “I have decided the winners of the game.” He floats down from on high, hands glowing with golden light as the book and quill return. “Allow me, victors, to grant your wishes.” The gaping smile broadens in a way that makes Tommy sincerely wish he wasn’t at this god’s mercy. He hopes his limbo will be nice at least. Nice enough to spend the rest of eternity in.
With a flurry of turning pages and a flicker of golden light, the book opens in his hands and he begins to write. Gleefully, he glances back at Dream and Punz. “Remind me, my conquerors, of your wishes?” The two look at each other, as if to question the god. Punz starts, “Well I wished for Dream to be brought back.” “And I wished for Punz’s life to be restored.”
The reality of it hits like Tommy like an anvil to the head. They lose. They’ve died. He’s killed them, for nothing. The world is doomed, if it isn’t gone already. It’s over. They’ve lost. And it’s all his fault.
“Jack, what did you wish for?” His expression is hard as he turns it on the god, “I wished that people would know this was me. That I changed the world today. I left my fucking mark on this world.” “Your wish is granted. A girl sneaking around Snowchester overheard your arguments and spread the word. You are heralded as an angel of destruction, harbinger of the end of the world.” From the way his countenance softens, Tommy thinks he might be satisfied. “Tubbo? Your wish?”
His best friend looks devastated. He’s almost glad he couldn’t change his wish: he’s not sure sending him back to be Dream and Punz’s new toy would be preferable. Or perhaps it’ll be him again: who knows! Death is not the end until the gods decide they’re done with you. Tommy catches DreamXD observing him curiously again and wants to tell him to stop, but he ignores the feeling that the god can hear what he’s thinking and takes Tubbo’s hand in his, squeezing. “I’m so sorry.” Tubbo meets his eyes and gives him a small shake of his head. There is nothing he can think to say to make this better.
“I wished that my son would grow up safe and happy.” Knew it. DreamXD’s expression tempers, “Your son will live a long and happy life far from here. He slept through the explosions and is far, far from the danger zone. He is with Technoblade right now, and he will look after your boy.” Tubbo looks relieved, “Thank god, thank god for Techno. Thank you.” A rush of golden light surrounds him, settling on his skin like a cloud of friendly butterflies. With a pop and a grunt, his shoulder is no longer dislocated. The blood wipes away with the remnants of the golden light. With quiet gratitude, Tubbo raises his arms, looking at skin stitching itself back together and bows his head to DreamXD. The god looks at Jack, cocks his head and sighs, “I suppose you as well.”
The same golden light envelops him like silk drapes wrapping themselves around a figure in a burst of wind, and his scrapes and slashes are gone. DreamXD turns on Tommy, “Now, your wish.”
“I thought you’re not granting my wish.” “Come on, man,” Jack nudges him gently with his foot. “When the gods offer you something, you don’t ask why it was offered.” “Hold on, hold on,” Dream approaches, Punz shortly behind him, looking irate. “I thought it was his wish or ours.” “It is!” Chirps the god. “His wish is pretty vast - funny how that works - so I could do both of yours or… only his.” “So you’re not doing his..?”
The laughter starts small, a childish giggle, spectral hand to mouth, that then grows - a full-body laugh, a howl, a roar of amusement. Golden light bursts like lightning in a bottle outward as he cackles, and one of the bolts hits Tommy, sealing the hole in his side, reinflating his chest, soothing the anxiety bubbling in his stomach. “I don’t see what’s so funny, we played your game, we won the right to our wishes-” DreamXD claps his hands together like an elated child and a shockwave sends Dream toppling head over foot.
“You false fucking godhead! You think you’re powerful, you wait ‘till-” “Don’t try to threaten me,” Tommy flinches back despite the god facing the other direction as his voice fills every inch of air with static electricity. The god’s voice changes, echoing as if they’re in a vast cavern, booming with power and taking on a new, discordant deepness. Dream momentarily does the same, and Punz’s face betrays genuine fear. “I am DreamXD, God of Wishes and Dreams, Protector of the End, Master of Hauntings, Merchant of Souls and Purveyor of Stories. Let me explain this to you in a way your tiny minds might be able to understand.” Tongues of fire crackle and flicker from the god’s hands as he cracks them against the floor. “You think you deserve the answers to all of life’s great questions. You think you deserve immortality. You call yourselves Gods, but you are incomparable to my power. I could write you out of existence with a flick of my quill… but I won’t. Much better to have two new fascinating playthings!”
Abject horror crosses Dream’s face, “What the hell? No! We won the battle!” “Yes, you did, didn’t you? Again. How boring. It’s not a very satisfying ending, is it? They all die in the nuclear blast, but I think it’s better than sending you two back to continue the very same plot threads that put us here to begin with.” “We’ll do better this time!” “Put your ear to the world and listen, Dream. No one wants there to be a ‘this time’. Could you hear it? In the leaves on the trees, the critters of the earth. Particles of soot and magic in the air, words on shimmering pages, the whispers between unseen witnesses. None of them want you back. They seek different endings. You, ALL OF YOU-” The three nearly-kids on the floor cower as he sweeps over them, golden pieces of crown spinning at incredible speeds, lightning bouncing around the room. “-made such a huge mess of it, I had to step in and put things right! You’re not getting another chance, Dream! I gave you power over death, and instead you bent to its will and carved a never-ending, bloody trail. YOU MAKE YOURSELVES IN THE IMAGE OF GODS, THIS IS WHAT YOU GET!”
With a sound as loud as the nuke blast, the room fills with light the colour of burnished brass and a prickly heat. Somewhere in the cacophony, Tommy hears screaming. A too-familiar voice yelling out his name one last time. He clamps his hands over his ears and scrunches his eyes shut. He feels Tubbo gather him in his arms, pulling his head under his chin, blocking out the second apocalypse of the past few hours.
Then, eventually, there’s nothing.
When Tommy opens his eyes, the room is still. Jack crouches behind him, gazing over him at the god floating a few feet off the ground, one leg crossed upright against the other, leaning the book against the side of his knee as he scribbles and chews on the end of the feather. Tubbo still has him cradled to his chest, turning his head every ten seconds or so, keeping lookout, perhaps. One of his hands is repeatedly stroking Tommy’s cheek with the back of two fingers. It’s nice. Peaceful. The one problem is that the staticky sound in his ears has reappeared, but apart from that, this is okay, lying here. He’d be quite happy to stay here forever.
Then the god looks up from what he’s writing, his voice back to normal. “Is he awake yet?” Tommy groans and presses his face into Tubbo’s collarbone, and his best friend just laughs. “I don’t know, maybe you should ask again.”
“He is a bit pathetic, really.” “Is it done yet?” DreamXD shoots Jack an irritated look. “Is it done yet? Gods, I hate working with mortals. You’re all so puny and annoying and simple-minded,” He pauses, smiles. “But I prefer you that way.” Tommy groans, “Is what done yet?”
As Tommy sits up, jimmied along by Tubbo’s gentle murmurs, the god lands lightly on the floor, standing over them like a schoolteacher. “You shall all get your wishes-” He glances behind him, where a crimson stain on the cobblestones speaks for itself. His voice drops an octave again, deep and starkly warning, “But cross me, and you will not want to live to tell the tale.” No one says anything to that, so he continues, back to the light, merry deity Tommy still isn’t sure what to make of. “Jack, the notoriety of your deed will secure you a place in every history book here forevermore. Tubbo, your son will grow into a fine young man, after a childhood that was safe, happy and free. And Tommy…”
The god cuts off, says nothing more. Tommy looks between Tubbo and Jack, confused, still a little groggy from the second round of loud noise and bright lights, catching smiles on their faces. “What? Why are you looking at me like that? What is it?” Their faces seem brighter, holy light shining from their eyes. Tubbo laughs and Tommy decides that’s his favourite sound, “Look at your hands, big man.”
He looks down and shrieks. Tubbo and Jack erupt into peals of laughter, and Tommy isn’t sure whether he should be scared or thrilled. His hands are turning into that familiar golden light, melting into glowing patches that disconnect from his being and float upwards.
“WHAT’S HAPPENING TO ME?” “I guess you won, boss man.” Tubbo’s grin fills him with a warm feeling that makes him feel weightless, or maybe that’s the turning to light and drifting away thing. “Tell Michael I love him, yeah?” “Wait, I’m-” He looks at his hands glowing golden, the weightless feeling, Tubbo’s knowing smile. “I’m- I’m not… I’m going back?”
“Gods, took you long enough. Yeah, why not. Don’t fuck it all up this time.” “I’ll- I’ll do my best… I mean, it also wasn’t really my fault, if Dream hadn’t- Y’know what, yeah, n-nevermind. I’ll make sure it doesn’t go badly this time.” He laughs at the disgruntled face of the god apparently giving him his life back. “Maybe don’t give power-hungry maniacs the power over death this time? Maybe don’t give anyone that power, actually.” “Are you telling a God how to do his job?” “Consider it free advice?”
A laugh breaks free from his chest, rising him higher from the ground. He floats up out of Tubbo’s arms, feeling his fingers trace every scar as they leave his sides. No way. The god appears to be consulting a map, clicking his divine tongue, “Right, where can I… Prison is gone, house obliterated, L’Manberg blown away, ah shit there goes the Community House again, wow, it’s a good job that evacuation alert went out so quickly-”
Tommy looks down at his friends, at Tubbo’s beaming smile and Jack’s grimace. “Tubbo?” “Yeah?” Tommy beckons to him and Tubbo stands, reaching his hand up to hold whatever of Tommy’s isn’t yet golden light.
“Is this it?” Tubbo shrugs, smiling sadly, “I guess so. I guess this is it. But I’m fine with that.” “I- T- Tubbo-” “This morning, this bloody morning-” Tubbo shakes his arm. “You made me contend with the same reality, okay? So don’t give me any bullshit. You go back there, and you take care of my son, and you live your life, yeah? Mourn me for a few months or whatever it was- Dream’s gone now! You can be happy! You will be! You don’t have a choice!”
It makes him laugh. Tubbo was always, is always so good at making him see the good side of things, drawing out his smile, making him laugh until his stomach aches.
“How am I supposed to do that without you?” “It doesn’t matter. You’ll make other best friends, new countries, new memories, you’ll move on from me, I-” “I could never forget you. Never.” “Well I didn’t say that.”
All through their heartfelt final conversation, Tommy had been ignoring a succession of funny noises from Jack, but when he replies with a particularly sincere “I don’t want to live without you.” and Jack fully scowls, Tubbo suddenly wheels around. “WILL YOU SHUT UP, JACK. PRIME, I’VE BEEN TELLING YOU ALL DAY, I DON’T KNOW WHAT YOUR PROBLEM IS BUT-” “Tubbo, woah.” Tommy reaches down and stills him with a hand on his shoulder. He pushes against it, using Tubbo to propel himself through the air towards Jack and his surly expression.
“Jack, I’m sorry, I didn’t know this would happen, I-” “You what, Tommy?” “Like I said, I- I wish I could make it up to you.” “You know you can, right?” “What?”
The god looks up from the map he’s been plotting upon and the sides of the giant ‘X’ fall. “Are you kidding me? I have to do it manually? For the love of-” Jack’s voice draws Tommy’s attention back. “I just think you’re fake. You say all this stuff to him that I don’t think you actually mean, because all this time you’ve just been using him for your schemes, and when they don’t work and he gets hurt-” “Jack, look at your hands.” “I swear to Prime, it’s when he gets hurt in your stupid schemes and I see you for what you really are-” “Jack,” He finally stops. “Your hands.”
Jack glances down and lets out a shriek of his own, and this time it’s Tommy splitting his sides with laughter. He swirls around in mid-air to see Tubbo’s similarly turning into golden light and rising into the air with him, raising his hands to wipe away the tears slipping down Tommy’s cheeks that ache for grinning.
“I was wondering why that was taking so long,” The god slams the book shut with the map inside and Tommy feels all the molecules that make him up shimmer and shake. It’s a little scary and slightly nauseating and he tries to channel it back into excitement as the world around them becomes a little hazy. “Anyway, I hope to never see any of you shmucks again. Don’t break anything, don’t go around killing people as an experiment and don’t you go anywhere near the dragon!” “The what?!” Tubbo asks with a laugh. “Forget it!”
The golden light is almost blinding. Tommy and Tubbo’s hands find each others automatically, their matching beams saying so much more than words ever could. Tommy turns to Jack, floating in place beside him, and offers a hand as well. “No. Absolutely not.” “I missed messing around with you, man.”
“Tommy?” He snaps his head back to look at DreamXD one more time before the light swallows them. “For the love of Prime, be happy. I cannot actually guarantee that kind of thing. I also don’t do swaps or money-back guarantees.” “Man, this is enough. I will, thank you! Thank you! Thank you-”
The last important thing Tommy feels before his vision fades to white again is Jack’s hand scrambling for his, just in time.
The ground beneath him is soft with a slight give that indicates it probably rained recently. Crows call to each other from the battlements of the castle, moving every so often with an effortless flight wall to wall. A taint in the air grows stronger with every minute that passes, smelling like a burnt-out electrical cable. Grey clouds have swept the skies, threatening to burst at any minute.
Tubbo breaks their easy silence, waiting for the end of the world to catch up to them, “We should really go inside before either of us gets radiation poisoning. After all that, that would be a shit way to go.” “Yeahh… Jack had the right idea.” “Jack was just worried his incredibly notable status as the guy at fault for this is going to get him jumped.” “Perfectly reasonable.”
They laugh softly, Tubbo leaning his head against Tommy’s shoulder. “Is this real?” “That’s the fifth time you’ve asked me that.” “Is it?”
Tommy grabs a handful of grass and throws it in Tubbo’s face. He splutters indistinct protests, “Yes, it’s real.” “Thanks, asshole.” Tubbo rolls onto his front and hops to his feet. “Come on, inside, before any trouble starts.” “Never far, is it?” Tommy asks softly, accepting the hand up that Tubbo offers him.
They walk in a comfortable quiet back inside Eret’s castle, one of the last remnants of Downtown Dream SMP that escaped the blast. Beyond the battlements: crater, and ruins, and nothing else. Just, nothing. Evidence of an entire civilisation wiped straight off the map, leaving the clean lines of annihilation. Inside the castle it’s warmer, out of the Autumn breeze. It also doesn’t smell like ozone, thanks to the fact all the windows and doors are firmly shut. Tommy’s feet lead him aimlessly to an indoor garden in the centre of the courtyard, protected by a hastily erected glass dome. He sits down heavily and lays back in the less damp grass, closing his eyes, aware of Tubbo standing over him when his shadow blocks out the light.
“What are you doing.” Tommy asks, unable to suppress his grin. “Enjoying the view.” Tommy cracks an eye open, “Finally coming around to my rugged good looks?” and earns himself a light jab to the ribcage. He sucks in a sharp breath, “Careful, that still doesn’t feel right.” It’s been about an hour since they got back, having woken up on Eret’s front lawn much to the concern and jubilant confusion of the King herself. While the injuries from the fight left no marks, Tommy still feels tender where the sword almost ran him through, and that ringing in his ears still hasn’t gone away. Annoying.
“Sorry,” Tubbo smiles, stepping over a small pinkish bush to sit down beside him. “Penny for your thoughts?” Tubbo shrugs, “Trying to work out what we do from here.” “Obvious, I thought. Get your son, get far away from here. Make a nation,” He nudges him with his elbow. “Go to the moon.”
Tubbo shakes his head, “Unfortunately, king, Project L’Moonberg has taken a major hit. We appear to have lost our rocket.” “Looks like we’ll have to set back our launch date then, Commander Underscore.” Tubbo barks out a laugh, “Commander Underscore. Give over.” “Whaaat?” He puts his arms behind his head and leans back. “I’m feeling very jovial right now, so don’t you dare bring me down.” He pauses, feeling almost breathless, despite having not done anything. “We can do whatever we want to do now, and no one’s going to tear it all down just because they can.” “Hope not. Dream’s not the only bastard in the world, you realise that, right?”
He tilts his head back to see Tubbo picking the petals off a tiny daisy one by one, “We’re not kids anymore though. We know better this time.” He watches Tubbo pause, smile, keep picking petals. “Yeah, you’re right.” “Of course I’m right,” Tommy says with satisfaction. “I’m always right.”
After another couple minutes, Tubbo lays down beside him again, “Can I say something?” Tommy groans, “Ohhhh no. Ohhh, this is never good.” “Shut up, man!” They laugh, Tubbo shaking his head. “Screw you, I’m saying it anyway. I love you, dude.”
“Awwww-” “Tom, I swear to god-” Tommy then tries to put Tubbo in a kind of headlock to ruffle his hair. “Awwwwwwwh, Tubbbbboooo-” “Tommy!” “Ow! Okay, okay!” Tubbo screws up his face with laughter as Tommy snatches his hand back. “Prime, you don’t have to bite me, ow!” “You’re such a wimp, you’re such a wimp!”
When the latest round of lightly kicking each other subsides, Tommy shuffles closer to Tubbo. “I love you too, Tubs. I- I can’t believe we made it out.” “Neither can I-” “Like I really thought we were dead for good there-” “-no chance if we were brought back we were gonna have good lives-” “-and it was really bumming me out that we died for nothing if they went back-” “-and, like, thank god you stuck to the plan but I kinda screwed us over not checking the-” “Tubbo?” “Yeah?”
Tommy looks at his best friend’s face beside him. He remembers what that face looked like when they met - none of the scars, none of the stress, just kids, just best friends, normal, nothing more. They’re so changed, irreversibly so, but he still sees the same kid that somehow endeared himself so firmly to Tommy that he could never let go and also the one that never left him behind, not really. He hopes, beyond all hopes, that Tubbo sees the same thing staring back at him.
“What? I’m on tenterhooks, man.”
The two of them, forever against the world, forever fighting the same battle again and again, losing and falling and picking each other back up. Their wars are all over, their battles won. Time to get on with the rest of their lives.
Together.
“I really thought I might lose you today. I’m so- Look at me. To the ends of the earth, yeah? Promise me you’ll stick by me forever, because I can promise you now that you’re never getting rid of me. To the ends of the earth, and- and the moon, I guess.” “Clingy.” “Shut up.”
Tubbo’s smile was the first thing that greeted Tommy when he came back from the dead for the last time. Here, now, and forever, he gives it again and bumps his forehead gently into Tommy’s.
“To the end of everything.”

Wait…can Jack feel MCS arousal?
Considering certain statements made in the “yes” route, I feel pretty confident that’s the case. Allow me to highlight what I mean. ;3
I felt the warmth spread through my chest. It bubbled up and rose like lava in a lava lamp, before sinking back down into my core. There was something unspoken there between us at that moment We both knew what was going to happen. It was just a matter of waiting for the first one to break… The red hot anticipation filled me so much I thought I was going to burst. I was shaking with want. Infatuation. Need. I didn’t think I’d be feeling this anytime soon... So...happy... So...accepted... But I was cornered now. And I was ready to let whatever this was overtake me… This feeling... It had to be love… Jack Yes, Alice... Jack This IS love… Jack THIS is how it feels! Jack THIS is how I have been feeling...for you…
I hope you’ll pardon me that I saved this quote with my MC’s name filled in. ;)
The rest of the quotes go under the cut because we’re getting into more explicit territory now. Remember, Something’s Wrong with Sunny Day Jack is an Adults Only game. No one under 18 should be poking around in this fandom.
It was starting to become almost unbearable… I want...more… I want him inside me... I want him to touch me more… Hold me… Jack I can feel how eager you are… Jack It’s so...intoxicating. I love it…you’re so wonderful.
Jack straight up admitted he can feel MC’s eagerness here.
He was being so careful… This gentleness made me grip onto him tighter. God I wanted him to go harder… Jack I don’t want to hurt you…
Of course this connection goes both ways, as MC can pick up things from Jack as well.
He was close. He didn’t even need to tell me.
I suspect that just like pain can be shared between them through their connection, Jack and MC can share pleasure as well. I would imagine that would make the sex between them even more amazing when they can share so many good feelings. No wonder the two of them quickly get addicted to each other’s presence when they can make each other feel good just by being near each other.

OSMP Denizens Sleeping Habits
Ranboo: She has carefully set up a four-poster bed with purple (has to be purple) hangings, and little gold chains. She sleeps in a lovely set of lacy pajamas with an eye mask and hand-cream gloves. About half of the time one of her bed posts falls on the bed while she’s asleep and she comes awake in a furious panic.
TommyInnit: He’s very convinced that it’s a nice nest and will proclaim this loudly, but like, it’s mostly a lot of sticks covered in moss. He stuffs shed feathers in the cracks, and curls up in a quilt he stole from Phil, and snores very loudly.
Niki Nihachu: She has a kelp bed that she carefully moors herself in, so after a nice hot snack (Jack’s got her in the hot drink trend), and taking care that her pet crabs and axolotls are safe, she ties herself in place and drifts off to sleep.
Tubbo: Passes out in random locations.
Philza: Has a very nice nest up high with a careful mattress-and-quilt base to it (the quilt is from his wife), and artfully woven sides, and he can lean over the side and spy on everyone if he needs to.
Jack Manifold: He drinks a hot drink and puts on his thermal pajams (he does not have the ones with a butt flap and if Tommy said so he was lying, these are made of asbestos and they’re very dignified), and he curls up in a shallow lava bath and he sleeps with his mouth open, drooling.
Sneegsnag: He has bored a hole in a tree, it is very sweet and cute and cottagecore inside-- acorn table, leaf bed, water drop dispenser, sugar dispenser. He goes on a sugar-high craze about once a week and wrecks it cause he’s moving too fast and has to bore a new hold and rebuild. The tree is becoming structurally unstable.
Smajor: It’s just a single bed, but it’s set right up underneath a skylight so the stars can see him. He has space-patterned sheets, and sleeps with a tape of ocean noise, and a hot water bottle, cause he’s cold.
Badlinu: He has a New and Modern nest of his own design, which is mostly a crate of 2 by 4s set up around a walmart single mattres and comforter (he does not have sheets on the bed). You have to climb up the side and worm between the boards and the ceiling and then fall onto the bed. He insists he sleeps soundly in this.
CaptainSparklez: King-sized bed, high thread-count egyptian linen, aromatherapy setup, white noise machine, yoga before bed, turning off his phone an hour before bed and reading a paper book, 10:30 bedtime. Or that’s what he’s supposed to do. Half the time he falls into bed at 3am because he’s been playing COD too late and sleeps on top of the covers.
Technoblade: He has a warren and if someone (tommy) manages to work their way into it they’ll find a very ordinary ikea-furnished bedroom in a logical place for a bedroom. He does not sleep there, he has a very secret futon with carrot-printed sheets and a gold-ore-printed duvet, that is in a classified location. No one (no one) gets to know where that is.
Fundy: Logically, you should not be able to get to his bed with the amount of stolen items there are crammed into his bedroom. It should not work. He manages it anyway, and he sleeps curled around and inside the most valuable thing he possesses currently, which is Captain Sparklez’s netherite armour. The captain thinks he misplaced it, but no. Fundy is cuddling it while he sleeps.
Shubble: She didn’t know what bedrooms were supposed to look like so she googled “cute bedrooms” and recreated the top hit. Wilbur and Jack both helped build it, sniping at each other the whole time. It’s adorable and has many cushions on the bed.
Beau Beautie_: Has decided that she doesn’t want to sleep in a nest, so she has a bedroom that is a careful imitation of Shubble’s Pinterest-Inspired room, including the huge collection of pillows. Most of the time she has to use the pillows to make a little nest so she can stay asleep, but she’s determined to ignore that.
Wilbur Soot: Has a little nest set up in a dark room. Big soundproof curtains on the windows drape over the woven sides of the nest, and sometimes he gets them tangled up with the quilt. He has a switch charging port set up for when he gets nightmares, which happens fairly frequently.
Jschlatt/Fragrance Man/Man: Drinks a fifth of whiskey, sleeps in his vestments on the couch. Like he has a bed but it’s used to store laundry and a cat. He doesn’t sleep super well, but he wakes up still drunk, so he’s not hungover.
James Marriot: Didn’t want to take the time to build a bed, is secretly sleeping in Schlatt’s bed when he’s not looking. He doesn’t sleep super well either, and somehow he does wake up with a hangover despite not having drunk the night before.
Charlie Slimecicile: Bucket.

Erlande my beloved help I’m sad and sad and wanna jump back into AH but I dunno where to start pls hold my hand and guide me ur like the ceo of this place
i am holding both of your hands right now
okay, so like, even though i've watched a lot of AH stuff from this past year, i can't recall every single thing i’ve watched off the top of my head. to make this easier for myself, i'll mainly look at the let's play and achievement hunter channels on youtube. from there, i'll recommend series from 2021 that are easy to binge, and then suggest one-off videos, some of which are longer than others :)
before i start the list, the short announcement video with BK and joe is really cute. show them your love and support on the socials!
here are all of the AH videos i really liked from this year [as of december 23rd, 2021]:
★ live action ★
challenged accepted (formerly known as “challenge finders”)
unruly rollers (a let’s roll miniseries)
go-op! (like the series “go!” but more cooperative)
between the games (not a new series, but it returned this year)
achievement hunter summer games in spring (their first video in person as a large group. very fun. very wholesome)
extra life 2021 (alternatively: a highlight reel of extra life 2021 made by rt themselves)
specific videos:
ready set show: fake british slang quiz 4
between the games: sumo x floor is lava on hoverboards and how we broke the ceiling
let’s roll: monikers with barbara + is this another HR incident? (title refers to the previous game)
chump: the face jam episode and the takeout crew episode
off topic: the halloween episode, episode 300 (more chill than 200 lol), the hot tub episode, and the rtx 2021 episode
also, this one sponsored video where jack and lindsay get a tank (from december 2020, but sshhh) and that one olympics video with ray
with many podcasts getting video versions and bonus content on youtube, i’d like to recommend:
red web: yorktown memorial hospital
face jam: road trip videos [ 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 ] + this sponsored video
f**kface: their “breaks sh*t” series. not much gets broken (physically, at least) [ 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 ] + geoff’s bike stunt video
annual pass: the rtx 2021 panel and their youtube channel. the channel was made in june, and videos started being uploaded in november, so there’s not much in-person content to recommend this year :)
★ gameplay and animations ★
AH animated (yes, all of them from this year. i couldn’t pick a favorite)
ocarina of time and super mario 64 randomizer (with michael and matt)
pokémon snap (with matt and jeremy) [ 1 | 2 | 3 ] + their pokémon stadium video
halo 4: laso (michael, gavin, jeremy, and alfredo)
gta v: the chungschwa videos [ 1 | 2 | 3 ], the cayo perico heist (michael, gavin, jeremy, and matt) and los santos tuners (matt, alfredo, trevor, and a rotating crew member, each episode being a different person)
minecraft: ya dead, ya dead season 4, ya dead, we dead, this capture the tower video they did with the other departments at rt, and of course, episode 500
hitman 3 (played by gavin as the other AHers watch and have a laugh)
play pals: the room series and cursed halo [ 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 ] (this one’s still an ongoing series!)
specific videos:
drawful 2 custom game (with the internet’s geoff ramsey™. it’s from december 2020, but hey, that’s close enough to 2021)
50-turn mario party
that weird-ass bigfoot roleplay video (ky plays as bigfoot, and it’s as great as you'd expect)
march to madness: the 2021 AH wrestling video (as hosted by post team’s aaron)
mario golf super rush (the one where alfredo died inside)
play pals: getting over it (the second part that was only made because they joked that they’d do it when the first video hit a million views)
★ first-exclusive content ★
dead little roosters
camp betrayal
last laugh: season 2
let’s firt + an explanation as to why it’s called “let’s firt”
specific videos (and miniseries):
off topic: last call: episode 300
sims 4 cottage life (with ky, lindsay, and fiona)
let’s build (with ky, lindsay, and matt)
hades (with lindsay, matt, and alfredo) [ 1 | 2 | 3 ]
i... think that’s everything? at least, i hope it is. i started writing this at 2 in the morning, so there’s a chance that some of the links are broken or misplaced. if i got lucky and all of the links are good, then everyone is free to add their own suggestions!
#collarful-clover#Anonymous#ask box 360#achievement hunter#scrimping and saving these links for the people#will definitely add it to the masterposts page in the afternoon#there's no gmod because i don't like gmod lol#love the cast dislike the game#i still like prop hunt though

Finding a Forgotten Memory
Summary: A happy ending for this post and this one.
Pairings: Parental! Ghostbur x F! Child! Reader
Tommy x F! Child! Reader
Warnings: ANGST! But there’s a happy ending.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tommy swept his gear on the floor as he paced the length of his bedroom in his hotel, warm tears rolling down his face.
He remembered the day Ghostbur had stormed into his home, balling, his tears creating smoke, that he couldn’t find his little blue. He had assured the ghost, she was fine. Probably hiding or she wandered a little farther than she should have.
Grabbing his sword in case the search took too long, he followed Ghostbur into his sewer he’d moved back into after Tommy’s freedom from exile. Inside, Tommy had a few doubts as he looked at the bit of wreckage around the place.
“Did you do this looking for her Ghostbur?” Tommy asked, sitting a barrel upright.
“N-No. I-I s-s-s-he…” The ghost couldn’t form a coherent sentence.
“I’ll look outside. Stay here in case she comes back alright?”
Ghostbur nodded rapidly, clutching onto an already full piece of blue. Tommy nodded before leaving the sewer calmly then booking it to Phil’s.
“Phil!” Tommy shouted, slamming the door open, startling the man and his crows. “There’s something wrong with Ghostbur.”
“What? What’s wrong?” Phil immediately stood up.
Tommy explained the situation and they both gathered everyone they could, a search party formed. (Y/N)’s name was shouted into the wind as everyone separated into many corners of the Dream SMP land and the L’Manberg land. Even people like Sapnap and Punz helped them look in their more familiar areas.
But they couldn’t find the little girl and mobs had started to come out. Tommy, Phil, Techno, Fundy, and a few of L’Manberg citizens continued their searches. Techno and Phil went into more in-depth searches or rather questionings. Yet…there was no word of her…
That was the night Phil fabricated the lie.
“We’ll only use it till we figure out what happened. Ghostbur will have to believe it because Fundy refuses to talk to him but he likes (Y/N).” Phil assured the younger as he fidgeted in worry.
They’d try to figure out what happened in the next few days!
…
Then a few days turned into a few weeks. And a few weeks turned into two months…
They’d lost hope and even though there was no message on the walkies, they knew the magic had a range and (Y/N) …she had to be gone…They didn’t know what happened, could only speculate.
Time had to move on and people grieved, Tommy taking it hard as the little girl had helped him through hell without knowing. She was part of his family and she had made him smile when he needed it the most, not even knowing he had needed her little games and laughs. He wished he had those when he had gone through the final battle with Dream, yet even after his victory, he continued to grieve and now seethe as Dream dangled a fruit of revival in front of him.
Listening to the same horse shit, day after day…
They had told Ghostbur once or twice in the beginning but Phil told everyone to keep up the lie when the ghost would just break completely, unable to function at all. Tommy couldn’t handle it anymore that Ghostbur didn’t remember the one thing he thought the ghost would never forget. That he wasn’t grieving like him. The little girl only helped Tommy through a rough time but that same little girl was Ghostbur’s entire world! It wasn’t fair to her memory that Ghostbur simply forgot the end of it!
He knew the ghost couldn’t help it and that the ghost would break if he actually remembered but it frustrated him to no end because Tommy didn’t forget and broke at his own memories and he couldn’t live like this anymore! He…he couldn’t let the little girl be gone any longer…
He looked at the prison from his window, before clenching his hands. He needed to pay an “old friend” a visit.
…
Tommy stood on the other side of the netherite blocks as the lava behind him finished cascaded down and the barrier was gone between him and the smiley masked man.
“Tommy! What do I owe the pleasure?” Dream asked, spreading his arms as he laughed.
“Business. I want that revive book Dream.”
“The revive book? You know I can’t just give that to you Tommy. I won’t revive Wil—”
“Not…Wilbur,” Tommy muttered.
Yes, the boy wanted his older brother back but he wanted this little girl back first.
“Not Wilbur? Who would you want? Not Schlatt.” Dream mocked and Tommy clenched his jaw.
“Just shut up you bastard and listen!” Tommy shouted and Dream stopped, watching. “You’re going to bring (Y/N) back or I’ll never visit you again and we both know how much you want me to visit.”
Dream stood there before grinning wickedly behind his mask. “(Y/N)? Huh. You’re going to have to remind me who they are…”
“YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHO SHE IS!” Tommy snapped, doing his best to keep his tears in. “She was the little girl you hated because she made me happy during exile!!”
“Oooh, right. Ghostbur’s kid.” He chuckled, turning from him. “How’s he doing?”
Tommy restrained himself with great difficulty.
“Such a bad memory, his child going missing, I’m sure he’s practically been destroyed…”
Tommy felt the warm tears in the corner of his eyes as he took deep breaths.
“Or did he finally forget the little brat?”
He lost it.
He pinned Dream to the obsidian wall and barked at his smiley mask.
“YOU’RE GOING TO BRING HER BACK RIGHT NOW YOU GREEN FUCKING PRICK!”
Then Tommy saw his wicked grin under his mask.
“I’d love to Tommy, but I can’t bring back what’s living.”
“W-What?” Tommy sputtered, confused.
Dream laughed as Tommy let him go.
“You never saw the message because there was no message to have! It wasn’t my goal after all to kill her.”
Tommy’s world stopped before his heart pounded. She…She was still alive?! But Dream had been in prison for three months after they finally decided she was gone. She…She wouldn’t have survived…
“And now that you know, the clock is ticking Tommy. Will you lose her and have to deal with another ghost? Of course, I can make it simple. Let me out and I’ll give her right back.”
Tommy shook. He had mourned for her. He had stopped…looking for her…
Shaking his head, Tommy stepped behind the barrier, it going up, shocking Dream. No, Tommy needed to make this right.
“I’ll find her. Suck it, green boy.” Tommy snarled, before stepping onto the bridge.
“YOU WON’T! SHE’LL DIE BEFORE YOU FIND HER TOMMY! ONLY I KNOW WHERE SHE IS AND SHE’LL STARVE SLOWLY!”
But Dream underestimated Tommy’s determination…
…
“PHIL!” Tommy shouted on the walkie as he sprinted back for his hotel for his gear.
“Don’t talk to me, Tommy! How could—” Phil started to yell at him.
“(Y/N) IS STILL ALIVE!”
“W-What?” Phil stopped.
“I went to Dream to revive her and he admitted to taking her. She’s still alive. We need to find her now!”
Tommy slid slightly as he got to the entrance of the hotel before dashing in.
“H-How, what?!”
“IT’S A LONG STORY NOW WE NEED TO LOOK! We need to every fucking place Dream’s ever been!”
They had figured she had been kidnapped. They just hadn’t known by who. Dream had been prime suspect, but even then, he had an alibi; and at the time, they couldn’t exactly search the most powerful man’s places.
“O-Ok. Ok! I’ll get everyone!”
Tommy grabbed his gear and went to meet with everyone else. The search was back months later but they had new information. Dream was tricky with his hiding and everyone had to be clever as they went into different corners of the world…
Tommy didn’t sleep for two days as they searched everywhere they could as his thoughts went rampant. What if Dream was just messing with him again? Lying to get him to let him out! What if Tommy had just given everyone false hope…
Then as the sun just breaking into light purples on a new day, Tubbo cried out on the walkie.
“WE FOUND SOMETHING! WE FOUND SOMETHING IN DREAM’S BUNKER!”
Fear didn’t even grip Tommy as he sprinted for the nether portal. Tubbo, Ranboo, and a small crew of others took to the task of taking the bunker physically apart in hopes to find anything.
Tubbo justified by saying this was where Dream had held his biggest cards. He wouldn’t have kept (Y/N) too far from there.
Tommy stumbled into the room as he saw Ranboo standing back to be there if someone got stuck as Tubbo, Foolish, and Jack carefully digging around a mechanism they had destroyed. Tommy pulled out his own pick and joined them.
After some time, they managed to crumble away stone into a hallway.
“I’ll go,” Tommy muttered.
He hated the tight space of the hall but he had to know and if it was a trap, he wanted to take it. Carefully going down the hall with his axe instead, he didn’t go too far before he found a door. Opening it slowly, he found a plain room and…a little girl in a dirty blue hoodie spinning around bored in the room.
“(Y/N)!” Tommy choked on a sob before dashing into the room and hugging her tightly.
She yelped in surprise before grinning widely. “Uncle Tommy! I told Dream you’d visit!”
Tommy cried as he squeezed her. She was so naïve as always. She hadn’t changed in the missing months…He missed his niece so much.
“Your crying! I don’t have any blue.” She said, looking around the empty room.
“I-I’m ok (Y/N).” He laughed quietly. “They’re happy tears…but there’s a ghost that would love to see you…”
She gasped. “I missed daddy! Is he here?”
“No…but I know he’d love to play a game of hide and seek…”
“Ok, do you have any food? The tall man hasn’t brought me any.” She explained as he stood up.
He frowned in confusion before his eyes went wide. The person that had been helping Dream while he was in prison.
“(Y/N), what did she look like?” Tommy asked quickly.
She shrugged. “He was very tall and he wore funny clothes and he wore a mask.”
“Like Dream’s?”
She shook her head. Tommy frowned deeply. Who the hell had been helping him?
“I don’t have food on me but I’m sure Ghostbur will gladly give you dinner.”
She grinned as he carried her out. The others cheered seeing the pair, sharing hugs with her as Tommy continued to hold her. Everyone over the radio celebrated as Ranboo made the announcement. Phil nearly collapsed in happiness when they got to L’Manberg, relieved he hadn’t lost another child he had helped care for.
Reluctantly, before Tommy brought her to the sewer, Tommy told her not to tell Ghostbur about her “trip”. It was a little secret between the two of them. She promised not to tell and Tommy brought her into the sewer, seeing Ghostbur was doing his daily morning to find his little blue. He hid (Y/N) in a barrel he knew Ghostbur checked before rushing out.
He waited by the door as he heard a cry of laughter, smiling lightly before leaving, his work done.
“There you are little blue! It’s breakfast time, not time to play hide and seek!” Ghostbur laughed, hugging the little girl tightly, not really understanding why he had before he gasped hearing her stomach rumble. “You’re starving! Let’s have a big breakfast!”
She giggled, agreeing with him as she snuggled into him.
“Your hoodie is getting dirty, we’ll wash that before we go visit Phil and Tommy, ok?”
“Ok, daddy. I love you.”
“I love you too my little blue. I love you so much.” He muttered without thinking, nuzzling the top of her hoodie.
A Leap of Faith
~
Jack held the bucket and stared into the molten gold inside. He had always watched his friends leap down waterfalls and slide down crisp anobanks, using the cushion of H2O to break their fall, but water stung his skin and snow as well, like little hornets, little fluffy white hornets in a gray sky. But fire made him warm, and if he was "born from hell" like they said, maybe this would work? Jack lifted up the bucket all a glitter with spells, dull purple, filled with lava and poured a stream down the side of the cliff into the lava pool below, the airy needle of the rock outcropping graced with a thread of orange light. Then letting out a breath, he leapt.
His knee was skinned. It's not like the lava was that deep, it never was in this pool. And his arm ached , it had caught a floating piece of rock from the lava cooling on top. But the warmth all around him felt the same warm way a candle in a window looked.
A voice crackled over his intercom "lava isn't water, mate."
"Yea, but water won't do shit for you in hell anyway."
The voice laughed, "Ok, I've got the key ready for the portal now, too."
"On my way."
Dream SMP Recap (March 2/2021) - The Day After
The server grieves, building tributes to Tommy. Ranboo ponders to himself and confronts Sam about what happened as Sam continues to search for answers.
Ranboo
Eret
Skeppy
Badboyhalo
---
- Foolish builds a tribute to Tommy in front of Tommy’s house.
- Captain Puffy builds a shrine to Tommy.
- Ranboo reads through the Memory Book. On the eighth page is written, “He’s dead.”
- Throughout the stream, “It’s Raining Somewhere Else” plays in the background.
- Ranboo doesn’t understand how it could have happened. How could Sam have let it happen?
- He eventually decides there’s no sense in trying to rationalize why it happened...it already did.
- The only person who could stand up to the person in that prison is now gone, and there’s nothing he can do about it. But he can’t cry about it.
“Why do I want to? It’s not like he was kind to me...in fact, he was the opposite most of the time...But it was the fact that...he was kind once. That’s really all it takes. That’s really all it takes for me is...one person being kind to me, and then I’m indebted to them. Because I’m indebted to Tommy...although he didn’t really keep up friendship, he was still technically the first person I considered a friend on this server.”
...
“But now...I can never repay him anymore, so...there’s only so much that I can do.”
- Ranboo wanders away into the wilderness, passing by Jack’s restaurant. He goes into the forest to collect flowers.
“Why now are the same people who argued against him suddenly being sad? Because they see it...they see it as a relief. People only really see Tommy’s death as...relief. For them, it’s relief from...well...Tommy. They didn’t want to deal with him anymore, so now that he’s gone, their mourning isn’t sadness. It’s celebration, because no longer is the one person who, if I’m entirely honest, made this server interesting...now people can do whatever they want with little to no repercussions.”
“The reason so many people hated Tommy is because Tommy made them think.”
“For the first time, the people who were so deeply rooted in their beliefs...they had conflict."
- He was stuck in the prison for an entire week, and no one thought to help.
- Now that he’s gone, people are becoming virtuous. Afterwards, he’s now viewed as a reason why people want to help, to not let it happen again.
- Eret jumps down to the spider spawner and heads to the Egg Room to check his kingdom taxes chest. He peeks into the Egg Room but heads out before too long.
- Ranboo continues his monologue. All these people who claimed they were going to “protect the children of the server!” They just assumed that Tommy was safe when he was locked in with a murderer.
“I should’ve done something but I didn’t because I was scared...I was scared to help, and that was my fault, and I know that...I’m being...I’m going back on what I’ve said previously, I’m doing all this because I don’t know how to handle this! I don’t know how to handle this.”
- He forces himself not to cry. He says things that are wrong sometimes, he says things about what he believes that don’t work.
- Puffy completes her cobblestone shrine for Tommy.
- Ranboo continues.
“Monologues about my beliefs aren’t gonna change anything, right?”
“And who knows who else could be next? ‘Cause it’s not like no one else is going to die...”
“But what are we gonna do? We’re just gonna react!”
“God, I’m such a hypocrite...I don’t know what to do!”
“Why didn’t I do anything? Why didn’t I do anything to help Tommy in the prison? I -- I should’ve, I could’ve...But then why didn’t I? I was aware of it, I could’ve done something, but...what stopped me from going in? And saying something? I mean I know I’m banned, but I still see Sam outside. What stopped me from going inside, or at least telling Sam that...what stopped me?”
- He starts swimming across the lake to walk back.
“I know I’m hypocritical, I know I’m a...non-redeemable character, but...I just don’t know what to do...just doesn’t make any sense.”
- Ranboo walks up the Prime Path to Tommy’s House and begins to plant the flowers there.
“That’s how most people deal with it, right? We’ll just make a quick little shrine and move on...make their shrines, make their statements about how they’re gonna make it better, and then...they aren’t gonna change a single thing. They’re gonna say their piece and continue on. And me, of course, being the hypocrite that I am...I’m gonna do the same thing.”
“...At least I can remember this.”
- He holds an allium.
“Remember this? I gave him one of these and he immediately insulted me...that was one of the first times we ever interacted. I gave him one of these, he insulted me, and then I helped with one of the things that led to his demise...so here, Tommy. A flower...there’s no one there to pick it up anymore.”
- He watches the dropped flower on the ground.
“If you don’t make the most of what you have before it leaves, then you’ll have regret. You’ll think to yourself, ‘why didn’t I do something more?’ Why didn’t I do something more to help?"
- The flower despawns.
“Goodbye, Tommy. You were interesting, but...you were still a friend.”
- Ranboo decides that he wants to figure out how it happened. Because even if he doesn’t need closure, other people might. He decides to speak with Sam.
- He meets Sam (Awesam) at the Big Innit Hotel, asking how he’s holding up.
- Ranboo says he’s confused about a couple things and wants to ask about what happened.
Ranboo: “I’m not talking about Tommy’s final days, I’m talking about the period of time before that. Before...prison. Before even the Disc War, do you know what happened to Tommy?”
Sam: “Yes. Dream...was in the prison, and I would...he...started admitting, telling me about what happened, and...yeah, I know.”
Ranboo: “So you know what Tommy had to go through.”
Sam: “Yeah, I know.”
- Sam insists that there was nothing he could do.
Ranboo: “You never thought ONCE that maybe, maybe, having a visitation with one of the most dangerous people on this server wouldn’t lead to ANYTHING bad for the visitor? So you installed NOTHING about it? You did nothing about it?”
Sam: “I didn’t think that something wouldn’t happen to Tommy specifically.”
Sam: “There’s some people that I never let go and don’t forget. I didn’t let Tubbo go visit him, there’s a reason for that...but I didn’t think that he would kill him.”
Ranboo: “What would make you think that he wouldn’t!?”
Sam: “He admitted himself that he needed Tommy. It’s the only thing that he would talk about when he was in there alone, was Tommy, Tommy, Tommy. And Tommy came and wanted closure...and I thought it would be good for him to move on.”
...
Ranboo: “So you never let him out after a WEEK?”
Sam: “Ranboo, I couldn’t let him out!”
- Sam explains that trying to make more entrances also means more exits, and that he was following protocol. Ranboo protests that Dream had Sam make the protocol in the first place.
Sam: “If I thought there was something I could’ve done, I would’ve done it. By the time I realized Dream was -- attacking him, I headed back there to try and stop him immediately, and when I got to the main cell he had already done it. And then...I was standing on the other side of the lava just screaming at him, and he just laughed. I know I should’ve tried to do something, but you have to understand I couldn’t let him leave. What if Dream left with him, where would I be?"
- Ranboo then asks about the explosions. Sam explains that there’s no sign anywhere of who did it.
Sam: “I need to find who it was. ‘Cause...whoever did that...trapped Tommy in there, and made me leave him in there with him. And they saw what it did, and they knew he was trapped in there, and they still didn’t come...they didn’t tell me that it was them, so they...they wanted him to die.”
...
Ranboo: “I can help you with that. I think, if I see anything, ‘cause...obviously if the person that did it probably had...no...connection with anything. I mean, they must’ve just...someone who was against Tommy.”
Sam: “Someone who was for Dream.”
Ranboo: “No one’s for Dream.”
Sam: “I would hope not.”
- Meanwhile, Eret meets with Captain Puffy at their castle. Puffy asks if he knows...Eret doesn’t. They go on a walk down the Prime Path and Puffy shows them the shrine as she tells them.
- Ranboo then confesses about George’s house.
Ranboo: “It’s kind of my fault!”
Sam: “No, it’s none of your fault.”
Ranboo: “No, you remember -- George’s house, the thing that started all of this, that led everything to this moment? I...helped with that. And...Tommy covered. Tommy covered for me, and he could’ve not, and then everything probably would’ve been fine.”
Sam: “You don’t know.”
Ranboo: “But I do. The only reason why Dream built the prison was because of Tommy’s exile, because he realized how nice someone being away was, on the server. The only reason why Tommy’s exile happened was because of the house, and because of the fact that he covered for me. It’s a butterfly effect, Sam.”
- Sam asks for Ranboo’s Memory Book. He writes a page saying it’s not Ranboo’s fault, Sam is responsible.
- He says that, if Ranboo finds something, to come and talk with him. Sam then says goodbye and leaves.
- Ranboo thinks, maybe there was some evidence that Sam didn’t see around here. He walks closer to the prison.
“But there is at least one thing I can do, and that’s...at least take care of our friends. Like Tubbo, my friend.”
- Eret is devasted by the news. Everything was supposed to be fine! Like the old days before L’manburg! He was only gone for a little while. Puffy isn’t sure what she’s fighting for anymore. They walk down to see the prison as well.
- Ranboo decides to work on the hotel, at least. He sees Sam Nook standing by Tommy’s hotel. Sam Nook asks how Ranboo’s hotel is coming along, and says that Tommy is excited about the competition. Ranboo says he’ll see Sam around.
- Puffy fills Eret in on how corrupted the Eggpire has become. Eret reminisces about the L’manburg War, and the duel Tommy lost to Dream.
- Ranboo sits on the bench for a quiet moment.
- He then remembers something. He descends into the Power Tower war room.
“This is where he told me our plan...of going to burn down George’s house.”
- He mines down and finds the chest, still filled.
- Puffy tells Eret that she tried to break the Egg, but it hurt her back. They make their way to L’manhole. Eret has a theory that, in trying to revive Wilbur, they may have caused some sort of rift that caused the corruption to accelerate -- but it’s just their theory.
- Puffy remembers how Bad and Skeppy had a heated moment where Skeppy asked Bad to choose, the Egg or him.
- Ranboo goes to leave but then...wait...was that...?
- He checks the chest again and finds the allium.
- Ranboo continues walking down the Prime Path. There is one constant, and that’s death. And no matter how you try to run from it...it’ll always come eventually.
“Hardships are hard, death is tough...but...loss is a part of life, chat. You gotta make sure that you’re open to the lesson, ‘cause you never know when it’s gonna be able to help. You never know.”
- Puffy shows Eret the McPuffy’s.
- Ranboo goes into the Nether to pull a 180 out of the lore and immediately falls in lava. Welp.
- Puffy and Eret explore the Oogway Shrine and then Puffy decides to show Eret Ponk’s Maze.
- They walk around, Eret turns on shaders and Puffy shows them her secret chamber in the mansion.
- Foolish speaks with them.
- Bad does a hangout stream with Skeppy.
- Puffy starts building a statue at Tommy’s house and the others help.
- They decide to have a beach party funeral at Logsted, a celebration of life.
- They place a coffin at the site of the beach party. They say some parting words.
- They then walk around Logsted and explore.
- Bad speaks with George, Dream, Quackity and Foolish too
- Obama lore
Upcoming Events:
- Tales From the SMP: “Haunted Mansion”
AU(s) where all the mod videos Tommy does, along with some other videos, are all alternate universes, and their residents end up in the SMP. Chaos ensues.
Voice Mod AU:
Universe where nobody talks aloud. They telepathically communicate, and the closer you are, the clearer and louder you are, unless you have the control the lower your mental voice.
Why?
Post-apocalyptic world(because Tommy said welcome to the new world at the start, and I too that and ran with it). They’re the new versions of humans, created after life returned on the planett, and the telepathy is a survival method, because outward noise draws predators, inner noise does not.
This also means they possibly have some other features similar to that. Like maybe Quackity’s duck wings being from some newly evolved duck species in the new world, Wilbur being a bit abnormally tall, or similar. I’m not sure.
Oh hey, no, Wilbur can be like a tree hybrid or something, cause Treebur.
Basically, evolution and telepathy.
Wilbur has a horse named Bert, he is speedy, and spends just as much time dragging his owner out of trouble than he does riding him into it.
The gang is basically just traveling the lands, exploring what’s about.
There are fish-horses, ender-horses, spider-horses, silverfish ponies, and horses that are somewhat like a breed between llamas and sheep in the world.
There are a lot of new horse breeds.
The Quackity of this universe wears clothes a lot like Manhunt Dream’s, hoodie-wise, but it’s all bright blue, and his mask has the :] face on it.
Size Mod AU:
Universe where people can shift and change sizes, though only to certain ones.
For example, Wilbur’s stuck small. He can shift to the size of a small dog, height wise, or that of a flower, but he can’t get big. Quackity can go smaller than Wilbur, or literally bigger than the Enderdragon. Both Tommy can be normal sized, or big, and Phil’s can be about the size of a tree, or become the size of a small mountain.
They all live in a nice house in the plains and spend their time terrorizing the locals.
Wilbur has a little house within the house, and he uses his size to cause havoc more often than not. Quackity is equally guilty of this.
Sometimes when the kids are being particularly bad, Phil puts the smaller ones in a compost bin and holds Tommy off the ground until he starts behaving.
Quackity’s a follower of the Blood God. Not to Techno’s length, but he goes and kills rabbits for him, and dedicates the chaos his giant form causes to the guy. In return, the four always have a flourishing harvest, and Quackity’s absolutely mean in battle.
Wilbur sleeps in one of Tommy’s old shoes that he stole and made into a bed.
Honestly, Wilbur’s kind of like the house mouse. He steals stuff and vibes in his little home in the walls. The cats that occasionally slip in try to eat him a lot too.
Wilbur and Quackity are bird hybrids, Tommy’s a zombie hybrid(cause he’s fighting a zombie and saying ‘I burn’ at that little bit), and Phil’s an iron golem hybrid.
Quackity and WIlbur have little bird-houses set up around the area for them to dart into and hide if anything comes after them.
They all met when tiny Q and Wilbur tried to rob Tommy and Phil. They succeeded with Tommy, but Phil was less than impressed at the attempt. Somehow it resulted in them all sharing a house.
Dragon Mod AU:
Universe set in more medieval-themed world. Phil, Quackity, and Tommy are dragon hunters. Wilbur’s a mischievous dragon sorcerer who enjoys shapeshifting into a dragon to mess with people. The hunters were originally sent after him, but spent more time frantically running for their lives while he laughed at them.
Wilbur’s actually good friends with the actual Enderdragon, who he calls Keithette. It was with her blessing that he decided to pick on the hunters.
He just spends all of his time messing with them. That’s all he does. He messes with them. It’s originally more malicious, which means they had a ridiculous amount of deaths, but they eventually all grew fond of each other, so now it’s more playful.
He helps them find treasure and scares off rivals.
Tommy’s a trained medic.
Quackity and Wilbur are...something? It’s a Skephalo situation. They could just be very affectionate friends, or they could be dating, or they could be messing with everyone. Nobody knows, and everytime they think they’ve figured it out, the two seem to magically know and do something to throw them off.
They’ve confused many, many people with their antics.
(They’re probably messing with people though, because they definitely know what they’re doing)
When the actual Enderdragon and her egg mysteriously went missing, Wilbur rounded up his friends and asked for their help in finding her-so now the group is on a quest to find her and return her to the End.
Natural Disaster Mod AU:
Universe where world ending natural disasters just keep happening. It killed off a lot of people, but honestly, at this point, it’s been going on for years, and those that remain are pretty used to it.
Tubbo and Wilbur are followers of the Mule God, and were brought together by him. Jack and Tommy are two good friends who came together to survive. And Phil’s a top-tier survivalist who keeps an eye on the four, mostly because he’d feel bad if they died too often while they live in the area.
Though they’re all three different groups, they stick together and help each other out.
Tommy and Tubbo were childhood friends before the disasters separated them. A young Jack found Tommy and took him in, and Tubbo was saved and blessed by the Mule God. They’re still friends, but have somewhat grown apart with their differing lifestyles.
Tommy’s a penguin hybrid.
Tubbo and Wilbur have been known to try and scam people passing by, and they have tried this with everyone in the area too-the difference is the ones who stick around know better than to buy it.
Whenever Tommy wants to hang out, he declares he’s rescuing Tubbo, and steals him from whatever he’s doing. Wilbur has long since accepted that occasionally Tubbo is going to be stolen, and doesn’t even blink anymore.
Tommy wears green, and Tubbo wears red.
Storm riding is a favored sport of Tubbo’s, where you grab a hang glider and get swept up into the storm. Jack hates it, but often gets dragged along anyway.
Morph Mod AU:
Universe where shapeshifters are more common, and Tommy, Charlie, Phil, Schlatt, and Wilbur are all a clan of them.
They co-exist with humans, and actually protect the local villages they live close too.
They also spend a lot of time messing with people outside said villages, but that’s unimportant.
Charlie and Wilbur prefer to be aquatic creatures. while Phil transforms into whatever works better for the environment he’s in. Schlatt just does whatever, and Tommy usually sticks to human form, only shifting when he’s bored or he needs too.
Wilbur tried to transform into a horse once, while in fish form. He’s not sure what exactly happened, but long story short, he’s the reason for the myth of the hippocampus.
They have a house in the village, one out, and then general little areas meant for them in animal form.
Because shapeshifters are strongly group-oriented, they prefer to shift in pairs or groups. Charlie and Wilbur typically pair up, as do Schlatt and Tommy. Philza doesn’t really have that instinct as strongly, so he just stays close to them instead.
Laser Eye Mod AU:
Universe set in a futuristic setting, where, due to an ancient void deity becoming malicious, Tommy, Phil, Charlie, and Wilbur are selected to become plasma wielding cyber warriors(futuristic magical girls, basically) to fight back against such threats.
These four’s cybernetics were embued with magic to produce specific plasma that would be effective against threats.
Phil wields divine plasma, and it’s fired out from his cybernetic wings, which were implanted as a military experiment. He can even detach a feather to act as a plasma covered sword.
Tommy wields phoenix plasma, and it’s fired out of his cybernetic eyes, which were transplanted into him when he was in an accident young, rendering him blind. They allow him to see by scanning out the outlines of objects and areas, and feeding the image into his brain.
Wilbur wields soulfire plasma, which is fired from his prosthetic legs, which have a kind of mermaid-motif, with fins and all, and make him a fast swimmer.
And Charlie wields greekfire plasma, fired from his cybernetic arm-it can also fire slime-like globs that rapidly grow and incase the area they’re attached too.
Wilbur was actually the first selected for the program, but he went missing shortly after, stolen and controlled by the void deity, who turned him into quite the obstacle for the others.
They eventually rescued him from it’s control, and after he recovered, he joined the fight.
Endermen and endermen hybrids are common minions of the void deity-it seems to have End-based origins, being able to control them.
Lava Ravine Mod AU:
Universe where Phil, Charlie, Wilbur, and Tommy are all strangers, who get a mysterious invite to an unknown world. It seems like a lovely vacation at first, strangers aside, but things turn deadly when a seemingly normal ravine in the ground begins to grow, the lava inside it begins to rise, and our heroes find themselves unable to leave the world.
They soon realized they may have been selected for their ability to survive, but to do that, they’re going to have to all work together.
Tommyinnit originates from the world of RLcraft, Phil grew up in Hardcore Mode, Charlie is a fallen god from a world of chaos, and Wilbur has lived through a world like this before.
They build a giant glass and stone dome, and live within there, using their various skills to survive.
Wilbur pretty much knows how this world works to a T, and is able to predict when the lava will raise and how quickly. He knows how to survive and work around the heat.
Tommy and Phil have a variety of skills from their lives before, not limited to first aid and cooking.
And Charlie’s got a bit of godly power he can put to good use here, as well as many out-of-the-box ideas for what to do.
Charlie brought a card-game from his old world, and teaches Wilbur how to play. It becomes a favorite past time of theirs.
Jump Mod AU:
Universe where enhanced individuals have recently begun to exist. Tommy, Wilbur, and Quackity are some of many who choose to use their new abilities for their own gain, becoming thieves. They were taken under the wing of master thief Philza, who was in the game long before he gained his new powers.
Or, well, they were thieves. A job gone wrong resulted in them being caught by authorities, and forced into a deal. Once thieves for their own gain, now they’re agents for the government, stealing back what was stolen from their country.
All of them are generally more physically enhanced, with agility, endurance, and all that jazz. But they also have other abilities.
Tommy’s faster than anyone. Wilbur can refract light, essentially becoming invisible. Phil can communicate with birds. And Quackity can change the density of anything he touches, himself excluded.
Philza was actually caught because he stayed behind for his new partners. He had realized someone was looking into them, and didn’t want the younger ones going into that alone.
TNT Mod AU:
Universe where everyone is a mob hybrid, and they live divided in tribes. Tommy, Phil, Charlie, and Wilbur are a tribe/keg of creeper hybrids, who protect their territory, and cause havoc for any trespassers who happens upon them.
No one dares settle there, because these four are just as likely to swear a village’s protection as they are to laugh as they set it ablaze. It’s purely up to how they feel at the moment, finicky keg that they are.
However, there is a reason some do venture here.
Every tribe/(name for grouping of specific mob) guards a certain treasure. For the creeper boys, it’s an orchard of apple trees that grow, not only red apples, but gold ones too-and rarely, a god apple.
If you do happen to stumble upon their territory unintentionally, your best bet is to appeal to Wilbur, as he does have a soft spot for people-of course, you’ll need to make sure none of the others think you’re taking advantage of that soft spot, lest they slowly and painfully kill you for even considering it.
Creepers are very friendly to them, and see them as one of their own. Other mobs, not so much.
The orchard is surrounded by a dense forest, that’s abruptly lets up to a clearing that rings around it. This is where the keg lives, in high tree houses all connected to one another.
Their forest is their pride and joy, and it’s filled with many exotic trees and plants from around the world. Bringing them an addition for it is a sure way to assure your survival, and even gain an alliance, if it’s a really good addition.
Likewise, messing it up even slightly will immediately get you murdered.
Black Hole Mod AU:
Universe where the sun exploded and became a black hole that’s slowly consuming the world. Though many perished, some survived, with the advanced technology in the future.
Wilbur, Charlie, Phil, and Tommy are some of those survivors.
Charlie is a scientist, studying the black hole to see if there’s anyway to perhaps stop it, or survive within it once it consumes them.
Phil’s a former mercenary who came to the lab with Tommy, after finding the young student stumbling about the remains of a city.
Wilbur’s the former on-board scientist from the crew that first encountered the black hole. He was originally presumed dead, but suddenly reappeared one day, and was found nearby by Phil, who dragged him to the lab. He’s...different. He’s seen things.
Charlie and Wilbur graduated from the same university, and were actually working in the same lab before Wilbur joined his crew in space for an up-close study.
Philza has a bad habit of adopting any creature he finds, and it’s become something of a joke by the four. He adopted Tommy, he’s adopted Wilbur and Charlie, and he has quite a few birds and other creatures that followed him back.
Body Shuffle Mod AU:
Universe where glitches a common sight, and humanity has evolved alongside them.
The world basically...well, I wouldn’t say revolves around? But glitches are a large part of life at this point, and players have specifically evolved to be able to work with them.
A common glitch includes the Body Glitch, where random body parts will seemingly vanish off a person without causing them harm or effecting them.
Tommy and Charlie are Takers, people who have a special, glitch-specific gene that allows them to take a glitch effecting a being or item, and pull that effect from said being/item, and upon themselves.
They’re equally loved and hated, considering the rarity of the gene, and what uses it could be employed for.
The two have a business that they use this ability to take and relocate glitches for various purposes.
Philza and Wilbur are the two’s bodyguards turned friends, who protect them from less savory people, and suss out the ones with bad intentions.
Gas Mod AU:
Universe set in a modern fantasy world where a mysterious gas suddenly overtook the planet. Many died. A few survived-but for some of them, that was the crueler fate, as the mysterious gas began to make them monsterous creatures that sought flesh and blood.
Tommy, Charlie, Phil and Wilbur are the scattered survivors in a city overtaken by the gas, banding together to fight back the monsters born from the green fog, and stay alive.
Wilbur was formerly a cartographer on a ship. He’s also half siren, and his most priceless possession is a diamond dagger given to him by his former captain.
Charlie is a doctor, as well as a wizard. His magic pet is a slime-like dragon. Yeah, he’s not sure where the little guy came from either.
Phil got a whole cocktail of heritage, but most are sky-related, so he’s got a strong grasp on air magic, which he uses to create safe bubbles for the gang to breathe freely.
And Tommy’s a low tier human-turned demon after death- an imp, basically. He causes havoc.
They all have to wear gas mask, which are heavily enchanted to keep the gas from affecting them.
The group basically just has a weirdly domestic life in the abandoned city, after they cleared out an abandoned apartment building to chill in.
Surgery Mod:
Universe where the gang are the experiments of a mad scientist having escaped.
Tommy is a poison-based experiment, Wilbur is a Nether-based one, Philza is an End-based experiment, and Charlie is an Over-world based one.
They were all grouped together in a cell because the older three are part of the Dimension Project, and Tommy accidentally imprinted on Wilbur when he was created, meaning he would have died if he was separated from him.
The four eventually decide that they hate this life, and stage a break out with the rest of the guys experiments.
Once they escaped, they decided to travel the world as a family, exploring everything they’d never had the chance to see, and finding where they belonged in this place.
Lava Floor Mod AU:
Universe where all the oceans in the world have been replaced by lava. For Ninja, Tommy, Wilbur, and George, their get-along vacation goes south when they’re stranded alone on a chain of distant islands, far from any sign of civilization.
If they ever hope to survive, they’ll have to put their issues to the side and work together to get to the one place unaffected-the Nether.
Tommy ‘Smokes’ Notfound, and Wilbur ‘Soot’ Fortnite are the two children of the struggling couple George ‘Specs’ Notfound and Ninja ‘Bow’ Fortnite, who haven’t seen each other in years, despite still being married.
The two, knowing how close their kids were, agree to meet up so the two can hang out, which is why they ended up on this vacation on the first place.
Wilbur and Smokes would really appreciate if their parents could get along too-it’d make vacation a lot nicer without all the tension. And yes, they could worry about all the oceans turning to lava, but they won’t. Instead, they’re going to be gremlins who try to get their parents to make up, whether that means divorce, or becoming a happy couple again.
Rising Void Mod AU:
Universe where the planets are being eaten by the void. Tommy, Philza, and Quackity are all aliens who managed to escape the demise of their home planets, and crashed landed on Earth, with the intention of warning them of what was coming.
Unfortunately, the only guy around for miles is Ranboo, a conspiracy theorist who prefers his isolated mountain cabin to the city...and also is in complete denial about the existence of aliens, even if they’re standing right in front of him.
Quackity is from a planet where ores and gems have a large part of fashion culture.
Tommy’s planet was the first to fall. However, Quackity was the one who was closest to be touching, and it leaves side effects-like him occasionally hearing it’s eldritch whispering calling for him to surrender himself to it and stop fighting-
But, y’know. It’s fine. It’s all good.
(Although he does happen to be the most aware of their inevitable fate, and uses humor to cope with the knowledge that no matter how hard they try, he and these people he’s grown to care for are going to die, and there’s absolutely no way to stop that)
Sky Grid Mod AU
Universe where Ranboo is a young, lonely god born to a grid-formed world. Though he has made many interesting creations, he decides he wants someone like him. Who can listen, and answer, and love, and hate.
And the universe loves him, so it answers.
It finds two souls who’ve died too young, and puts them into his hands to mold as he wishes. One, he creates in colors of green, like grass, and emeralds, and poison alike. The other, he creates in colors of red, like lava and poppies, and warm beds.
Their names are Tubbo and Tommy, and they’re different than what he thought they’d be. They cannot be controlled or remade, but they can bleed, and they can laugh, and most importantly, they can make choices.
And they choose to love him, taking him in their embrace as a friend, treating him kindly, and as one of their own, regardless of his power or abilities.
The three make a home in the gridded world, finding themselves and never fearing the fall, because the world loves both it’s godling, and the people made within it.
Terraforming The Moon AU:
Universe where the remains of humanity have fled to the moon upon the destruction of earth. They unintentionally awake age-old space deities, who, luckily for them, feel like lending a hand-mostly.
Wilbur is the only actual deity of the moon, but the rest of the SBI spend more time there than they don’t, because humans are interesting.
Tommy’s the youngest god, a deity of the stars within their young galaxy-it’s a position that was passed onto him by the former star deity, Clara.
Technoblade is the deity of both Mars and Venus. He’s actually been to Earth a few times before it’s destruction, and finds their cultures fascinating-particularly the Greek and Romans.
Philza is the god of the End. The oldest, he’s not just a deity, he’s a primordial of the end of all things. Truthfully, it was the very end of Earth that awoke him from his slumber, and it’s former inhabitants interesting lives that keep him awake.
They all pick a human to favor, and help out. Changes on the day.
Honestly, they aren’t necessarily malicious? They don’t really consider the fact that humans don’t have the same limitations and powers as them, so occasionally they fuck something up that somebody worked hard on, and don’t understand why they don’t just fix it already, not realizing that the humans actually have to take awhile to do that.
One Hundred Player Laboratory AU:
Universe set in modern time.
Wilbur and Technoblade are two university students trying to do a study for their finals-unfortunately, the rats they were supposed to use are both oddly sentient, and incredibly chaotic.
Techno and Wilbur are doing a study of behavior, and other scientific things. To do this, Techno has built a large, complex maze/building thing.
And Wilbur purchased a bunch of rats-except, he probably should have been a bit more careful who he bought from, becomes these rats definitely understand human speech, are all not normally colored, and desire to be as annoying and detrimental to their grades as possible.
To put it lightly, it’s not going well.
George’s If You Laugh You Lose Rematch AU:
Universe set in a chaotic, light-hearted world.
Sapnap, Karl, George, and Dream are some of the world’s residents.
Karl and Dream are chaotic shapeshifters who enjoy messing with George.
Sapnap’s a mischievous nether spirit who likes to team up and help them do it.
Karl can shift into objects, and Dream can turn into animals.
The whole world is comedic, and all it’s residents have a permanent case of the giggles-to the point of making a game of how long one can hold off laughing.
Sapnap usually takes the form of an enderman or enderman hybrid
Prison Break
Tw: lots of violence, blood
The white pastry box in her hands was heavy with the weight of the pie. Niki walked down the prime path the way she always did, smiling softly, sweater sleeves covering her hands. It had been a long time since she truly felt the way. She wasn’t sure when it had become a disguise, but it had, and everyone believed it without batting an eye. Beneath it, rage burned, hot but controlled. Always controlled. Her best weapon, she knew, was how she was perceived. Patience would pay off. Nothing but pain was coming for the people who’d locked her friend away.
She found Sam outside the museum. He leaned against the pillar, turning an unlit cigarette over and over in his fingers. He glanced up at her footsteps, then pushed himself off the pillar and pocketed the cigarette.
Niki smiled brightly. “Sam! I was just looking for you.” She hurried up the steps and under the awning outside the museum. The light rain a few feet away droned on.
“Hey, Niki.” Sam sounded tired. He looked it, too. Purple bags under his eyes were made starker by the unhealthy pallor of his face. “How are you?”
“I’m good. Are you okay?” she asked, arranging her features into a concerned look. “You look exhausted.”
Sam blinked a few times. “Yeah, I’m good. Just all the stuff that’s happened around the prison. Tommy, you know?”
No mention of Techno. Nothing about the lies, about how he and Quackity had pulled him away from his damn birthday party to lure him in. Niki nodded understandingly. “I’m sure it’ll all work out in the end,” she said. Then she held out the box. “I made you a pie. Felt like you might need a pick me up on guard duty so often.”
A small smile appeared on Sam’s face. “Thanks, Niki. I really appreciate that.” He took the box, opening it to find a pumpkin pie and cutlery taped to the side. “Pumpkin! My favorite.”
“I was hoping I remembered right.” Niki smiled again. There was a chance it wouldn’t work, she knew. That Sam would set it aside for later. But he had a parentlike streak. Niki had seen it in his interactions with Tommy. So she tweaked her gaze, made it subtly more hopeful and excited. Sam noticed, and freed the fork from the side of the box. He relaxed a little at the first bite of the comfort food and immediately ate more. “It’s good?” Niki asked sweetly.
Sam nodded. “It’s amazing. Thank you, Niki, really. I needed this.” He swallowed another bite, and two things that would oppose each other happened. First, his eyes widened with panic. Then they began turning glassy. “What…” his knees buckled, and he slowly slid down the pillar before falling sideways.
It had worked. Niki and Jack had been playing around for a while. Mixing potions together, testing the effects. They’d found a combination Jack had named Aurora’s Poison. Weakness, slowness, the scantest drop of harming, and a ground up petal from a wither rose. Death without stillness.
Sam’s face had taken on a bluish tinge, but his chest still moved up and down. His eyes were half open. “Niki… ” he mumbled, “help.”
Finally, the facade could fall. Niki’s smile turned into a cold smirk. She squatted beside him, strands of pink hair falling into her face. “Oh, Sam.” His lighter had fallen from his pocket. She picked it up and sparked it, studying the flame before looking back at him. “You don’t deserve my help.”
There was the faintest glimmer of realization in his eyes before they closed for good. “Sweet dreams, Warden. The Syndicate sends its regards,” Niki murmured. She stood. Let Quackity try to wake him. He was a living corpse.
She stepped back into the rain, her boots the only sound on the prime path as she returned to the underground bunker Techno had left in his instructions. Phil and Ranboo were already inside and suited up. There were two more pairs of netherite armor on stands against the back wall. One was for her. The second was for Techno.
“How’d it go?” Phil asked.
“Perfectly,” she replied, tying the straps of the chestplate. Phil’s armor had two bumps on the back, designed specifically to accommodate his wings. He had his sword in hand, shield leaning against his wall. A crossbow and quiver were slung across his back, and Techno’s sword hung from his belt. “Didn’t know what hit him.”
Ranboo looked the calmest Niki had ever seen him. Normally, he fidgeted constantly. Now, his hands were still, aside from the way they drifted to his axe handle. His face was set determinedly, and his crown hung from his armor stand, swapped out for a helmet. He’d been the one to get them the armor. It shone with the best enchantment the server could offer. Niki had known he was rich, but she hadn’t realized exactly how much he’d been sitting on. Her jaw had nearly dropped when, before they set out, he passed a totem to each of them.
“Need help?” he asked, taking half a step towards her when she started struggling with her gauntlets.
“I’ve got it.” Ranboo returned to the wall. He began tracing the blade of his axe lightly with his finger.
When she’d finally gotten all her armor in place, Niki crossed to the rack of weapons. She seized her bow and a quiver of harming arrows, slinging them across her back. She and Phil were the contingency plans if they were somehow pursued. Finally, she picked up her own axe. Its enchantments hummed, sending thrills up her arm. “Ready.”
“Ranboo?” Phil asked. The teenager nodded. “Alright, then.” He flicked the lever by the door. The sound of breaking glass filled the air as potion bottles broke. Niki felt the difference immediately, her bones strengthening with the magic. “Let’s go.”
-
Phil had known anger before. His life had been too long not to. There had been a time, before Techno, before Wilbur, that he let it consume him. Then Techno had arrived, and it was like impulse control had been installed. They were still formidable, of course, but Phil didn’t seek war anymore.
He knew grief, too. He knew the way it moved, the way it played with you until you wanted to sink beneath its waves and drown. It had consumed him after Wil’s death. He could hardly bring himself to clean his sword before he fell into a stupor in front of the fireplace. It had been Techno, again, who pulled him out of it. Who’d given him a new sword and convinced him to play war games until the sight of blood didn’t send him vomiting to the bathroom. There would be no Techno to pull him out if this went wrong. Phil might as well be dead too.
Ranboo and Niki followed him out of the bunker. The streets were empty as they silently made their way to the prison.
They didn’t bother to ring the bell. The three of them stood in the portal until reality straightened itself out. Phil had Techno’s will clutched in his hand. The bundle of papers had been empty, at first, until a few days ago. Writing had begun appearing, in Dream’s messy, spiked scrawl. Sam was a fool, Phil thought. He couldn’t take away Techno’s knowledge of spells.
He strode to the corner of the little room they were in. A loose tile was there, easily unnoticeable if you weren’t looking for it. Phil lifted it and threw it to the side. There was a loud crack when it hit the wall. He flipped the lever beneath it. “Thirty seconds before it resets,” he said, returning to the portal. Niki and Ranboo followed suit, and the prison constructed itself around them.
It was all so darkly decorated. Alright, edgelord, Phil thought sarcastically. They bypassed the waver on its lectern and the lockers to the side. Phil flicked the levers according to the code Techno had written. A door opened, and they took the tunnel Sam used into the next room.
Their way through the prison was marked by similar proceedings, and Phil’s mind was left to go on autopilot.
Techno knew it was a trap. He’d told him so a week ago, standing in the snow outside their houses. The moment he was out of sight, Phil had opened the will. He’d thought the message of the empty papers was clear: do what you want, lol.
So he’d gone to the stasis chambers and waited by the levers. Three days, he gave himself. Then he’d hit the lever, and Techno would be home safe.
Then it was four days, and Phil wasn’t sure why he’d waited longer. The pearls were a safety blanket. Using them would make things better. Unless what they revealed made it worse.
Then, on the fifth day, he’d woken up to a scratchy, crinkly noise from the will. Scrambling out of bed, he’d turned the pages over, and found the ink still wet. And what had Techno written, first thing?
PHIL, DON’T USE THE PEARLS. I NEED THE VIEWS FROM A COOL ESCAPE.
The dramatic little shit. But Techno had lain out his plan, and like always, it was smart. Phil had gathered the Syndicate, and they’d been ready.
A hint of nerves appeared in Ranboo’s eyes when they passed the iron door into the main cell area. Phil understood it. When they’d hung out, Ranboo told him how it was the point of no return, in a way. They all remembered what happened to Tommy. But Ranboo had three lives, Phil assured himself, and hoped the teen remembered too. He’d be fine. So would Niki. And Techno.
They travelled through the respawn checkpoints and extra rooms until they were in front of the lava wall. Ranboo glanced at the bed. “Should we set our spawn here?”
Phil shrugged. “I wouldn’t want to be spawn-trapped in here, but if you want to, go ahead.” Ranboo looked at the ground. Remorse tugged at Phil. “Sorry. Just a joke,” he said. Ranboo nodded.
Waiting for the lava to come down would take too long. Phil threw a few potions of fire resistance down on them and flipped the lever so the bridge would be safe when they returned. Then, with Ranboo and Niki standing on the bridge, he flipped the lever. He ran and leapt onto the bridge with the help of the jump boost pots from earlier.
The flames surrounded them in orange light. They couldn’t see each other. The lava tickled, almost, drying them off from the rain outside.
They came out the other side with a few blocks between them and the cell. Phil blinked a few times, readjusting to the low light, and froze. He hadn’t expected to be greeted by what was there.
-
Ranboo worried. It was in his nature. So of course, when he’d heard the plan, he took precautions for failure.
Tubbo was back in Snowchester with Jack by his request. They were in the control room, with a nuke armed and ready to hit the prison. Michael would be there too. Ranboo had made Tubbo promise not to let him out of his sight. Ranboo had never been more grateful for his husband’s habit of not asking questions.
His comms had been burning a hole in his pocket the whole way here. One message and it would all go up.
Now, though, he forgot all about the nukes as the bridge came to a stop at the cell block. Anger took its place. “Quackity,” he said in a near growl, “what are you doing.”
The scene before them looked like a horror movie. Blood, dry and fresh, coated the floor of the cell. Dream –– Dream –– was curled in the corner, shaking. Quackity stood in the middle of the room with a sword in his hand, grinning. And Techno.
Ranboo’s friend was standing by the back wall. His cape was torn. He was bleeding, too, but Ranboo couldn’t tell from where. He did, however, see the way Techno was just barely leaning against the wall behind him. His heart clenched.
“Oh, hey guys,” Techno said. Despite everything, his voice still came out strong and unbothered. “Nice timing.”
“Hey, guys.” Quackity flipped the sword in his grip so the point was against the ground, then leaned on the hilt. “Surprise seeing you here.” His easy grin didn’t reach his eye.
Ranboo vaguely remembered a day in old L’Manburg. He and Quackity had shared a pot of coffee and talked about Ranboo’s thoughts on people versus sides. He’d felt like Quackity understood. He’d thought he’d befriended someone who wouldn’t betray him. “Quackity,” he repeated, lifting his axe, “what are you doing.”
Behind him, Niki and Phil were moving. He didn’t pay attention to their movements, just trusting them to be ready.
“Ranboo,” Quackity said. “I get you’re probably mad. I saw you at Techno’s party, you two are friends. So first, I’m sorry you had to see this.” I bet you are, Ranboo thought. “Second, I’m only doing it because Techno’s a threat. I can’t let him be out in the world, causing problems.”
“You. Are. Torturing. Him,” Ranboo said. “Both of them!”
“Eh, Dream’s had it worse,” Techno shrugged.
“Shut up,” Quackity snapped. Ranboo’s temper snapped.
Of all the people in the room, Quackity probably hadn’t expected Ranboo to make the first move. It took him two steps to reach him, three more to shove him back against the wall. He held his axe to Quackity’s throat. “Who’s next on your list, huh?” he snarled. “Who’s the next ‘threat’ you’re gonna take out?”
Quackity’s eyes flashed. “Well, I hadn’t been thinking on it much,” he grinned, “but Tubbo and that outpost aren’t exactly making me feel comfortable.”
A furious scream built in Ranboo’s throat. He drew back his axe, to do what he didn’t know ––
“Ranboo?” It was Dream, looking up at him. For a moment, Ranboo was thrown into chaos. He couldn’t tell if it was really Dream, or all in his head. A small blade pierced the chink in his armor. He stumbled back, blinking, and the time it took for him to rip the cork from a Regen pot and pour it over the spot was all Quackity needed to ruin his advantage.
He launched himself at Ranboo. Phil intercepted him, netherite screaming as their swords collided. Niki was by Techno, offering him Healing and Regen while he leaned more heavily on the wall.
The moment the prickling in his gut subsided, Ranboo threw himself into the fight. Phil was quickly left out, which he seemed alright with. From the corner of his eye Ranboo saw him kneeling by Techno as well.
He hadn’t expected the fight to be so short, for his part. Anger fueled him, and something else. The Enderwalk, rising up in his unsteady mental state and giving him strength he didn’t know he had.
Cuts opened on Quackity’s limbs. His laughter turned to panting in the confined space. “This all you’ve got?” he yelled, out of breath. He tripped, stumbled, and fell against the wall near the lava.
Ranboo stood over him, axe in hand and red with blood. The natural course from here was to end it, right? Kill Quackity, kick him into lava? But the day in L’Manberg wouldn’t leave his head.
“You can’t do it, can you?” Quackity said. Somehow he managed to look relaxed, leaning against the obsidian as blood soaked his clothes. “I remember being that weak. It was awful. Really, Ranboo, don’t mess with me. The house always wins. You don’t want to start this.”
“Oh, shut up.” Ranboo swung his axe, and the handle collided with Quackity’s head. He slumped against the wall, eyes closed. Blood trickled from beneath his hair, but his chest still rose and fell. Ranboo left him there and returned to his friends.
Niki and Phil had taken care of most of Techno’s injuries, though he had his arms around their shoulders. “I can walk by myself, guys, seriously,” he said, but was immediately cut off by the two of them saying “bullshit” in unison. “Well, one of you needs to get Dream,” he said.
They paused. “Dream?” Niki asked incredulously.
“Yeah. Look at him, Quackity’s been giving him hell.” He glanced at Ranboo. “But hey, Syndicate rules, remember? You guys don’t have to do anything you don’t wanna. You can go ahead on the bridge and send it back to us.”
Ranboo and Niki shared a glance. They had both been citizens of L’Manberg. They had both been victims of Dream in some way. Ranboo knew Phil had helped destroy L’Manberg like it was a business deal, but he would agree with Techno. They wouldn’t follow Dream, but they’d help him. And as pathetic as the man looked in the corner of the cell, Ranboo couldn’t bring himself to do the same.
He looked Techno in the eye. “This doesn’t change my loyalty to the Syndicate. I just can’t justify helping Dream. I’ll still stand with you in other matters.”
“Got it.” Techno grinned. “Just don’t trap us in here again.”
Ranboo returned the smile, stepping onto the bridge. Niki followed him. “Sorry, Techno,” she said. “But I agree with Ranboo. He’s done too much to hurt me.”
Techno nodded. Niki knocked an arrow and shot it across the now empty pit. It hit the button on the other side, and the bridge began moving. When they reached the other side, Niki removed it from the button before hitting it once more.
“You can go ahead,” Ranboo said. “I’ll bring them back.”
Niki smiled at him. “Thanks. You fought well, Ranboo. See you at the next meeting.” She disappeared back into Sam’s tunnels, which Phil had left open.
Ranboo waited until Phil and Techno were safely on the bridge, Dream draped between them, to press the button one final time. Before it had reached full speed, he was traversing the tunnels himself, moving back towards Snowchester and his family. Quackity would find a way out of the prison, he knew.
