The vibes of my current test Zorloks:
Butch Badass Zorlok (she/xe): Is an older, butch lesbian with gray starting to streak through her dark mullet. Xe wears a cowboy hat, boots with spurs, and a bandana tied like a kerchief. She will kick your ass. Xyr Hellhound is a massive wolfhound named Cerberus. Goes by the name Crowley and walks dogs/watches houses to make ends meet. Calls pretty ladies "darling" and everyone else "son".
Bisexual Menace Zorlok (he/him): Young trans man who plays up being sarcastic and tough to cover up the fact that he's terrified and lonely. Introduces himself to people as Rafael Night, a guitarist who exudes confidence and sexuality and will seduce everyone he can just for the hell of it. His Hellhound is a leucistic snake name Ouro.
Ethereal Enby Zorlok (they/them): A chill being that seems detached from reality. Fascinated by everything, particularly mundane things. Loves learning about the modern world but does not blend in. Dislikes using power or violence but can and will wipe you from this plane of existence if necessary. Goes by Z and nannies a kid named Kevin during the day. Their Hellhound is Huginn, a crow.
Kind Professor Zorlok (he/him): A really nice older man who passes as human very well (cause that's all he wants to be). His Hellhound is a cat named Grimalkin who is always at his feet or perched on his broad shoulders. Hates using violence and demonic power but loves doing magical and supernatural research. Becomes a beloved local tutor under the name of Dr. Jonathan Gray. Rose calls him Jon.
Chaos Incarnate Zorlok (she/her): Some of her favorite things are violence, power, and corruption. Sadistic and petty. Plays up an impulsive and juvenile persona to cover up how calculating and patient she can really be. Her Hellhound is a goat named Baphomet. Calls herself Zorlok and the only human she truly cares about is Tommy who she will turn into the most wicked, cruel version of himself.

The fact that in that scene in the doctor who special Donna’s about to go off with the doctor in the end and her husband is like yeah most husbands would be jealous of their wife hanging out with men in a small space alone but then he looks at the doctor and is like nah not him. Like he knows the doctor wouldn’t be interested in Donna in that way and that she was completely safe from cheating on her husband. Shaun took one look at the doctor and was like I know what you are . He was NOT worried about Donna being alone with him
So, I did watch the 60th special today, which I originally wasn't planning to do, since I'm not much of a Whovian. But curiosity got the better of me, and once your ask came in, I figured why not give it a watch.
After sitting through the whole episode, I still have no idea what the hell actually happened, or what a Metacrisis is, or why they were all fighting evil anthropomorphized dryer lint...but I was still thoroughly entertained. Haha. And there were moments I liked (disability rep with Shirley Bingham whose character actually wasn't about her disability but just her as a badass person!), moments I didn't like, and moments that made me unexpectedly emotional (the mention of Wilf, which given Bernard's passing last year was incredibly poignant and left me in tears).
But what I was really living for with this episode was how unbelievably and incredibly gay it was, in absolutely the most phenomenal way possible. Again, I want to emphasize that I am a very casual DW viewer, so I can't speak to previous seasons or incarnations, but this certainly felt like the queerest Doctor Who ep I have ever seen. The awesome Yasmin Finney as Rose. Describing the Doctor as "male...and female...and neither...and more." Having legend and lesbian extraordinaire Miriam fucking Margolyes as the voice of the Meep.
And of course, the moment you mentioned...
What's really interesting to me about this is so much of the writing in this episode was pretty on the nose (thinking in particular of the scene about the Meep's pronouns, which was very well meaning but felt a bit heavy-handed in both the writing and some of the delivery). But I wouldn't say Russell T. Daddy was really going for nuance in a lot of what ended up on screen, which is why this moment stands out and is so interesting and hilarious. You can almost feel Russell abruptly stop short of saying what this is clearly meant to be saying, and leaving it as subtext instead of, well...text. And I've mentioned on my blog previously about seeing the Doctor and Donna's (as well as David and Catherine's) chemistry as very "exasperated straight woman and her chaotic bisexual BFF," so this really seemed to validate the hell out of that. Haha.
So yes, overall, I enjoyed "The Star Beast" much more than I ever expected to, and I'm definitely intrigued to see what the other specials will entail (especially "The Giggle," since NPH is in that one, and the queer quotient will no doubt be off the charts, at least if the production stills/BTS I remember seeing last year are any indication). It will certainly be interesting to see if we get more moments like the one above with Fourteen (Ten? Ten-Four?), so I suppose we'll find out soon...

So I was talking, like I said, to @bragganhyl earlier about my boy Montgomery, and man...I don't talk enough about the fact that he's bisexual, but especially that he's bisexual in a specific way that makes him probably not very palatable to the internet.
Like. Okay, so here's this boy who was born to a noble house in a society where your worth is determined by magic, and he doesn't have any magic. No natural talent, no trainable skill; he literally cannot do magic no matter how hard he tries. So, because of this, he's become virtually useless to his parents as an heir except maybe as a tool for marriage, which would have to be to a woman (because there are no members of the nobility who are trans in his society--those who are fled for a better life well before feeling safe enough to come out).
Montgomery has one (1) friend growing up. One person in the whole world who is on the level with him in terms of social standing, so not having to navigate systemic power imbalances, and who is around his age, and who still cares about him despite his lack of magic (because the boy doesn't have any, either), and this person is also a boy, named Aesir. They go through everything together--every birthday, every playdate, every outing, every meeting, every lecture from their nursemaids when they get into trouble, even every scolding from their parents because they'll share everything with each other eventually. Montgomery barely has a concept of what romantic love is, but he knows very certainly that Aesir is his person, his best friend, his partner, the person Montgomery always wants at his side.
And then they turn 16, and Aesir commits the ultimate betrayal by making a warlock pact, turning to outside forces to gain magic, without telling Montgomery. He keeps Montgomery completely in the dark, shuts him out, and rips out half the bond they share, because now Aesir can do magic and Montgomery still can't. Because warlock pacts are sacrilege. If Montgomery and Aesir were nothing without magic, now Aesir has made himself the Hells incarnate, and Montgomery doesn't know whether to be in awe of his bravery or to hate him for leaving him behind. So he lashes out and rips what's left of their friendship to shreds as soon as he has the chance, because it'll hurt less than being reminded everyday that now he's not the same as the other half of his soul.
It's not until years later, after Montgomery has met a girl who leans on him as if he could be the pillar of something instead of the dust in the corner, that Montgomery realizes Aesir was his first heartbreak. It's not until he has the words to know that he's falling in love with the woman that girl has become, that he even starts to accept that maybe she's not his first love at all. And in the process of learning to love Lorelei, he learns to love himself enough to accept the place in his heart that belongs to Aesir. Montgomery still asks his friends to help him try to save Aesir from the power that cursed him, when it would be easier and probably safer for the many to simply sacrifice the one. He agonizes over whether he's the one who's betraying his friend by choosing Lorelei, whether it's fair of him to move on from the pain when Aesir is literally being eaten alive by it. He still hides from his friends, and it takes him half a decade to admit that what he felt for Aesir was even in the same vein as what he feels for Lorelei. There is always a part of him ashamed to be as fascinated by the male form as the female one, to know that it wouldn't have mattered at all what Lorelei looked like and he would have fallen for her in the end, regardless.
Montgomery's first love was a boy who he couldn't be with for a dozen reasons that were "more important" than his gender, a boy who broke his heart and who Montgomery moved on from, but ultimately chose to love platonically in the end, and then he married a woman who society would have accepted in the first place for literally all the reasons his first love "shouldn't" have been. He lives most of his life as a symbol of how the old ways of the nobility were wrong, because he becomes their greatest leader without an ounce of magic inside him, but he never brings his sexuality into the public eye. Not once. It definitely keeps him up at night sometimes wondering if he's betrayed his identity by following his heart.
#anyway montgomery is the best bad bi rep character i've ever made#and i love him#and his love stories#he's important to me#dnd stuff#oc: dnd montgomery

"Did we fall in love in every timeline?" / "I think we're still trying."
SHADOWHEART HALLOWLEAF, SELÛNE'S GUIDING LIGHT | JETT RIDLEY, CHAMPION OF JERGAL
LADY SHADOWHEART, CHOSEN OF SHAR, THE CONSORT | LORD REVAN, SCION OF BHAAL, THE CONQUEROR
(Additional lore under the cut)
Happy Tav Tuesday gang! Here is some content for my oc Jett Ridley! (I'm gonna post the sheet for them sometime after I finish their run! All I have left is Raphael and the Endgame. So maybe that will be next week?) Jett is the bg3 incarnation of my kotor player character (iykyk). I romanced Shadowheart because she gives me Bastila Shan energy and I wanted to romance Bastila in that game, but I couldn't get the bisexual Bastila mod to run.
I did a cute little photoshoot for Jett and Shadowheart after the Orin fight because Jett got a new fit. (I'll post more photos eventually because they are fucking adorable. The hand holding?? The kisses?? Is sweet what can I say.) And then I was looking at the (top) photo and said "actually what if I made it tragic?"
So the bottom image was born!
In this AU, Jett left the choice on Aylin up to Shadowheart as in the main timeline. But here, Shart chose to kill Aylin. And then Shart was like actually we can't have a relationship, I need to be committed to Shar, but we can fuck tho. (She actually did want this relationship, but Shar is a right bitch, and Shadowheart also thought it was too late for her to have something nice.)
This kinda crushed Jett after everything they had been building, but they were in love and basically said "I'll take what I can get." (Because Shadowheart has faith in you is one hell of a drug.)
Fast forward to Act 3, Jett fails to defeat Orin and is doomed to be Bhaal's chosen. They retake the Revan name because it's inevitable, right? They will always be what their father made them. Shadowheart will seemingly always be as Shar made her. What choices do they have, really? Trying to be anything else ended in failure. But at the brain, out of sheer terror, Revan betrays their mindflayer and seizes control of the brain in their name in a last ditch attempt at salvation.
It works (mostly), but at what cost. And the ending becomes this odd blend of the Shadowheart, Gale, and Durge endings where they go after the gods (Shar, Selûne, and Bhaal specifically but they won't discriminate). However, there's also a healthy amount of bloodshed! In a divine war, humanity is always the first casualty.
(BTW 98% sure that it's Flayerlach in the AU for angst reasons. I think Shart killing Aylin was a wake up call for Karlach and the only reason why Gale and Astarion were on track for their good endings is because they used the power of the 4th wall to forcibly turn it into a co-op game. She was trying with Jett too, but their pathway to the bad ending was resting solely on the duel. Had they won, Shadowheart might have turned against Shar in Act 3 and all of this could have been avoided. I think this way is more tragic than 'everyone who could realistically go dark is dark'. It's a tragedy because they were all trying, but it wasn't enough.)
And Shadowheart, still loves Jett and they still love her. But neither of them are good people and don't know what they're doing anymore. So they're kinda in a messy stand off, will they or won't they but for the (slightly reluctant) heralds of the godly apocalypse, you know?
I would want them to get a better ending in this timeline because they are both very much products of their circumstances having been manipulated by the gods since birth and having essentially 1 set of memories between the two of them. I don't know how they would get there, but it’s the thought that counts.
I really love how the edited photo came out!! I think you can tell that Shadowheart's hair color has been edited, however because the whole image is edited I think it's less noticeable.
Here's the original screenshot before I touched it up so you can see the difference. I really love how I gave Jett the hood and helmet back in the bad timeline to really sell their regression back into being their father's weapon.
I also think that the poses choices are fun. The body language is so very different and I think it says a lot without saying anything at all. Anyway I love them <3 Thank you if you got this far!
(Also if you're interested in any of the mods let me know! I think the most important ones to mention are the Darkh Set Mod for Jett and the Inconstant Moon Cleric Gear Mod for Shadowheart. But I can pull up the dyes if there's a need!)
#shadowheart#oc: jett ridley#the dark urge#durge#durgeheart#shadowheart x durge#I think their ship name should be hmmm#saberheart#yes I like that#bg3#baldur's gate 3#digital photography#my art#I think this counts?#I'm tagging it but it's a 20 year old game at this point if you haven't been spoiled for it I'm amazed#knights of the old republic spoilers#kotor spoilers#bg3 spoilers

Ankh from Kamen Rider: OOO has long been a character who in my mind is both completely aroace and simultaneously the gayest cuntiest little twink alive. Today I realised that what I really think is that Ankh as he is is aroace, but just the tiniest little shift to the left and human AU Ankh is a slutty little gayboy. "But Lars," you say, "What Ankh is in canon is a literal greed demon. He is an incarnation of human's selfish desires. Isn't that much sexier and sluttier than being human?" And to that I say: I dunno, dude, Ankh just gives me the intense vibes that he has absolutely zero interest in sex. I won't say he doesn't know what sex is, he just doesn't care what sex is. He only cares about power and medals. He has never once considered sex or relationships as relevant to him in his thousands of years of life. However, you take that Greed existence away from him and make him some human guy and it instantly frees him to become the bratty sub femboy he was always meant to be. I can so easily see him at a sleazy gay bar wearing dog ears and a leather harness looking for innocent doms to seduce, only to be the biggest temperamental, possessive, selfish, manipulative nightmare of a partner if anyone ever tries for more than a one-night stand with him. But canon Greed Ankh? Nah.
The other Greeds though... Kazari and Uva definitely fuck, or at least try to - I don't know if they actually get any pussy. Uva has (even) more "red flag" energy to me, he's a shitty teen boyfriend with anger issues type beat, and I don't know whether that makes him less or more successful at getting laid.
I'm not sure if Mezool has any interest in sex or not, but if she does, she is definitely freaky as hell. Yknow, breeding kink, mommy dom, oviposition, it's all obvious low-hanging fruit with her. She's also definitely hella bisexual or maybe straight up lesbian, and either way, unlike the loser boys, if she wants to get laid she definitely could with no difficulty. But like I said I can't decide either way whether she would actually be down for any of that or not. She feels like she might be proud and disinterested in the idea, though not as much so as Ankh.
I don't want to think about whether Gamel fucks or not.
#my take as someone who's watched like 10 episodes of this 50 episode show#I was brainstorming this post for like 45 minutes while walking the dog#I just had to write it out somewhere lmao#draco speaks#also note all of the ones I think might fuck would do it entirely to seduce humans and do their greed demon thing on them#mezool could be extremely successful at medal farming if only ooo wasn't a pg rated show#but yeah they would all be terrible selfish lovers that use you without remorse#this is also why I can't imagine them fucking each other besides the fact that would feel kind of incestuous#though of course gamel definitely has something.... interesting going on with mezool#h. hey. you know how gamels torso medal is gorilla. do you think he has a tiny di

Blorbo from my defunct dnd campaign who I miss dearly. He's a Levistan-ish tiefling, Ghostslayer blood hunter. Part of a blood cult that lives in a city filled with the dead and ghosts. He's very chill except for when he's suffering from The CurseTM and then he's paranoid as all hell and anxiety incarnate. Has Texan accent but is, regrettably, fantasy fr*nch. Great partner to have, extremely bisexual in an aro way.

I’m trying to figure out what the hell happened
I was trying to theorize for months why DT was back until I remembered the interface thing in Power of the Doctor brought in Peter Davison and Sylvester McCoy.

Because 5 and 7 are associated with Tegan and Ace.
Not to mention 13 was sort of connecting to 1, 5, 6, 7, and 8 sort of Avatar the Last Airbender style.
I think that 13 was still intwined with them when she died and when the TARDIS suddenly decides that we have unfinished business with Donna, Doc takes the face that was associated with her.

Which may explain the clothes changing as well.
Thing is, 13 died and needed to change. It’s not like she can just pop back as her old self like she did in Power of the Doctor. She’s died but the intended incarnation is in there somewhere which I guess caused the bi-regeneration.
This seems like an RTD style explanation but I’m probably missing something.
Also on an unrelated note, the episode which will now be considered the bi-regeneration episode came out THE DAY AFTER I came out to my friends as bisexual. So that happened…

For the character headcanon ask game!!!! Firstly, the Tenth doctor as I like that guy and secondly,,,, Klavier or Kristoph Gavin or both because they are just so epic to me,,,,,
under the cut because I talked a Lot
ten
sexuality + gender: canonically genderfluid yippee!! as for sexuality idk. rose tyler.
fav ship: tenrose u will always be famous. tensimm you will be famous too I guess because what the fuck was. Everything. in the end of time. not my fav incarnation of thoschei but I do enjoy it . "you could be beautiful" doctor do you have something to share with the class.. OH. TENJACK ALSO. I am perpetually haunted by the scene in utopia wjat the hell is this
fav platonic relationship: doctordonna is LEGENDARY. they're so good they're sooooooo good. entirety of S4 is banger after banger after banger I'm excited to watch the 60th specials and see donna and dt again but im still dragging myself through chibnall era. It's bad.
general opinion: I used to like ten more than I do now not that I dislike him but watching twelve set a gold standard for doctors and I think none of the others quite reach it. am I biased because I'm obsessed with peter capaldi? No comment. anyway. ten is really good and has a lot of strong episodes particularly with donna ofc. I like his relationship with martha in theory I just wish the show didn't hate her guts . Midnight is one of theeee best episodes on television and ten is so good in it he's also particularly good in waters of mars tho I do wish the time lord victorious was dragged out a bit longer like for another episode or so before that finale. His regeneration never fails to make me tear up especially the part with rose... she WILL have a good year. sobs. Finally obligatory mention that fear her is a GOOD EPISODE IM SICK OF THE HATE.
klavier
sexuality + gender: bi + genderfluid she/her pronouns would solve all her problems
fav ship: klapollo I love u... t4t
fav platonic relationship: his relationship with trucy they're sooooo silly look at this art . also obsessed with what we see of his relationship with kristoph I'm thinking about them always and I wish we saw more
general opinion: she's my fav from aa4... No one is surprised. cute + silly + has problems + sees the protagonist and is like omg hi. did you know I'm bisexual. did you know im really into you . just saying. 0.5 seconds after meeting. I would like it if the game went more into his feelings on losing kristoph and then daryan and then kristoph again all back to back but I guess that's what fanfiction is for. guilty love is such a good theme I don't normally listen to just instrumental songs but.... She's beautiful. the concept of the gavinners is fucking stupid so I'm living in my dream world where they're a normal band not a weird law cop themed one.
kristoph
sexuality + gender: idk nothing in particular .
fav ship: he and phoenix definitely fucked at some point
fav platonic relationship: once again gavin siblings. I wish the game also went more into how his relationship with apollo is like I assume they were working together for a while pre 4-1 .. it's interesting to think about but there's not much to go off
general opinion: beautiful evil man. I love him and it really surprised me how many people hate him??? the godawful mischaracterisation I've seen on ao3 haunts me like yes he's a cunt but he wouldn't fucking do THAT. he's a cunt in a different way. please hate him correctly at the very least. I want to know what goes on inside his head. he was definitely lying about why he killed zak there was more to it than just being a petty bitch like the black psyche locks and everything... I don't think he's the sort of person who'd resort to serial murder over just not being chosen as lawyer there's definitely things he didn't tell us. I like him. he's also kind of stupid like if he just hadn't tried to be all poetic describing the cards in the first trial he never would've been caught??? and come on now why is he using the same fancy rare nail polish that he poisoned as a gift. If he hadn't used it they couldn't have proved he gave it to vera. I could not fix him but I could fuck him.

2. Go to your AO3 “Works” page, to the sidebar with all the filters, and click the drop-down arrow for “Additional Tags.” What are your top 3-5 most used tags? Do you think they accurately represent your writing habits?
Humor, Kissing, Sad, Crack - each of these only have 1 each, so "most-used" maybe not the word. I agree they do describe my works in a funny way. I am both a hilarious and deeply sad person and that definitely comes out in the writing. I mean DATDS was just two men being sad and gay on a boat in the rain (but it was also full of memes) and Exile//Vilify is about someone living an entire life knowing they're doomed to hell. Likewise, Stories from Exile is a compilation where I tried to bring to life every zany, weird thought that ever crossed my brain. (My brain never. stops. rotating. blorbo.) And like 90% of those thoughts are actually deeply silly. So while it may not describe the bulk of my novels, I think it accurately describes my mind.
16. What’s an AU you would love to read (or have read and loved)?
I want to read a whole book with the first incarnation of Astor being Ganondorf's royal seer. I have a small one-shot planned for this but not enough to make an entire novel and I would be absolutely INTRIGUED to see someone plot out how that relationship worked and what sort of plans they would have made to keep Ganondorf alive/bring about his reincarnation in the future.
I also would like to read more content that explores the potential relationship between Astor and Zelda's mom.
There aren't a lot of Pokemon AUs I want to explore right now I've just been sort of chilling on my own island over there.
32. What’s your ideal fic length to read?
Very pathetic bisexual male of me for someone who frequently crosses 100k but I prefer one shots or shorter novels of like ~60,000 words. While I can churn out a ton of writing, reading is not my forte. I also like collections of short stories because I can consume them in little bits without being overwhelmed.
Ask me writing things!!

I have totally stolen this tag from @ladyvaderpixetc, for fifteen fave shows!
1. The OA: I will never forgive its cancellation. Contains my number one problematic ship of all time. A true declaration of love in all its forms in a neat two seasons that should have been allowed to grow and continue. I adore it.
2. Altered Carbon (season 1): still love season 2 but it lacked some kind of pizazz I still can't pinpoint. Wonderful exploration of grief and life. Better than the book. Women led!!
3. True Blood: Eric being uninvited from Sookie's house and levitating backwards, offended, out the door will never not be peak comedy. I will never read the books because I don't want to read a world where Lafayette does not live.
4. Daredevil season 2/The Punisher season 1: season 2 of The Punisher was bad. I miss him.
5. Midnight Mass: beautiful, gorgeous, perfection in all its forms. The priest is hot and misguided.
6. Haunting of Bly Manor: queer grief, Big Sads, falling in love with a ghost, blows Hill House out of the water.
7.Battlestar Galactica: the only good thing my worst ex ever introduced me to. Suffering always for my crush on angry old man Saul Tigh. Bisexual disasters everywhere. Starbuck would beat me up and I'd let her.
8. Succession: only time I care about billionaires. Cycle of abuse in all its forms. Would Get Down Mr. President for Kieran Culkin any day of the week.
9. Sharp Objects: gorgeous, heartbreaking, equally as wonderful as the book.
10. Lucifer: goofy as hell award. Would simply declare my love for Amenadiel always. Also Mazikeen.
11. Raised by Wolves: when I tell you I had dreams of flying around like Mother for MONTHS. Incensed by the cancellation. Let beautiful things exist and continue!! Sadly suffers from annoying main character syndrome.
12. Evil: only religious themed show to not give me the ick. Actually frightening antagonist in the form of a pathetic little incel wet man who is constantly being foiled by a gaggle of prepubescent girls. Old nun who is fighting her own war with a broom and a mop.
13. The Americans: loved it more than Breaking Bad 🤷♂️, very bittersweet ending.
14. Shameless: never over Mandy's everything, Lip, Carl going from chaos incarnate to Good Man and the scene of Frank thinking that little sick girl in the hospital who passed was Fiona. They did Debbie dirty.
15. Walking Dead season 4: hot cowboy cop rips man's throat out with teeth, reaffirms familial bonds, more at eleven.
Honorary mentions: Mindhunter, House MD, Yellowjackets, The Office (US), Halo, True Detective, Boardwalk Empire, Mare of Easttown, The Outsider, American Horror Story, The Last Kingdom, Black Mirror, Sons if Anarchy, Westworld, Spartacus.

I don’t think the reaction to Miguel’s comment was entirely discomfort, and rather somewhat embarrassed/bashful. In the second half of his reaction, you can see him trying not to smile as he tries to think of a response.
I wrote a whole-ass essay about Alex and his bisexuality with an entire section on Miguel if anyone is interested who hasn’t read it.
As much of a piece of shit Miguel ends up turning out to be, prior to sandbagging Ellen’s campaign, he and Alex are friendly; they’re more than acquaintances but not quite friends. I also think that Miguel’s flirting is partially genuine. He’s for sure trying to get close to Alex for info, but he’s definitely attracted to Alex (who isn’t?) outside of the politics.
And to be fair, Alex’s hesitance prior to their fallout was rooted in the fact that he was a journalist, not because he said he didn’t like him.
It’s also worth noting that he genuinely doesn’t realize there was something wrong with his article on Texas. He’s pretty dimwitted for not thinking it through further, but he didn’t actually intend it to be malicious. He’s near-sighted when it comes to politics because he’s a journalist whose entire job is to stay on top of what’s happening “NOW!”. It’s later when he leaks the emails that he’s being intentionally harmful.
To clarify, Miguel is still an asshole, and everyone is perfectly within their right to hate him, but it does bother me a little when people go super overboard on him prior to the Texas article and the leaks.
I guess, it makes me feel defensive of Alex, actually.
Somehow my emotions associate the heavy bashing of Miguel (again, pre-fallout) with indirectly insulting Alex.
Like, Alex is not stupid. If Miguel was being completely fake, he would notice. If he was truly uncomfortable with his advances, he would shut him down. This is a man who regularly picks fights with the fucking Prince of England. He is not afraid to stand up to someone when they piss him off, as Miguel later experiences for himself. Alex is in fucking law school for a reason. He is argumentative and intelligent. He writes a fourteen-page memoir that impresses and convinces the fucking president to try and flip Texas. Hell, when Miguel tries to talk to him about politics at the party, he deflects him super easily until Henry shows up, and even then he just mumbles a single sentence, that Miguel is only able to use because he has access to confidential documents.
So, when people act like Miguel was the devil incarnate before they fallout, my brain goes: “Do you think Alex is stupid enough to fall for it/let Miguel get away with it for so long? Do you actually think Alex would allow himself to be manipulated so obviously?”
No disrespect towards anyone intended!! I just thought I’d share my thoughts! I have been trying to work out why I felt frustrated, and I finally figured it out!
ADDED SECTION
I'm adding this on here because the more I think about Alex being "uncomfortable" with Miguel, the more confused/frustrated I get. You can tell by the look on his face in the rest of the conversation that, to quote Nora, "not NOT into him".
Why do you think there's so many GIF sets from this conversation that don't include the actual dialogue or shots of Miguel?
BECAUSE HE LOOKS FUCKING HOT OKAY??? HE'S GRINNING AND LAUGHING AND LOOKS SUPER FUCKING FLIRTY!!
And this look alone tipped people off that Alex may have had/have a "thing" with him, before Miguel implies it directly, before Alex confirms later:
And to clarify AGAIN, Alex isn't sure about hooking up with him again because he's a journalist. And to clarify AGAIN, Alex only gets nervous when Miguel starts talking about it.
This actually a trait of Alex in general, in both versions, though easier to see through the book. He internalizes a LOT. I didn't mean for this to be so long and in depth, but here's a couple lines from the book that indicate/show that genuine communication is a bit difficult for him:
"And I know we're, uh, not really friends, and we don't really talk about this stuff. . ." - page 91"We don't really..." Alex coughs. "I don't know. Talk like that?" - page 180 . . . and not just continuing this thing where they fly across the world to touch each other and don't talk about it. - page 220"I honestly don't know if I'm good enough or smart enough to ever be either of my parents. But I could be that." He drops his head down. He's never said the last part out loud to anyone before. - page 229
So, of course he's going to get closed off once he's forced to talk about it face-to-face with another person. It's easier to just go with the flow if he's having fun.
He does the same thing when Henry says they need to stay casual. He could have told him that he wanted more much earlier in their relationship, but that's terrifying, and he's basically been rejected in advance. It's the other way around in the book where Alex simplifies it:
"Hey," he says. He pokes Henry in the arm. "Don't freak out." "I'm not freaking out," he says, enunciating the words. Alex wriggles an inch closer in the sheets. "It was fun," Alex says. "I had fun. You had fun, right?""Definitely," he says, in a tone that sends a lazy park up Alex's spine. "Okay, cool. So, we can do this again, anytime you want," Alex says, dragging the back of his knuckles down Henry's shoulder. "And you know this doesn't, like, change anything between us, right? We're still... whatever we were before, just, you know. With blowjobs." - page 144
Alex basically tells Henry to just have fun and not to think/worry about it. And that's what Alex himself does. Weird feelings in his chest? Henry being the only thing on his mind? Imagining him in domestic settings? What does that all mean? NOPE. He's out; thanks for stopping by, but he's leaving this train station of thought.
ANYWAY
This turned into a way longer ramble than I had intended it to be, but thanks for reading if you got this far!
Thanks for reading!! If you enjoyed this essay & would like to support me, you can give me a tip on my Ko-Fi! ☺️

What Did I Watch: #23
EVERYBODY SHOULD WATCH TRIAGE.
Triage could take the whole world by storm if not airing on the same period as KinnPorsche. Because personally, me thinks, Triage is a better story than KinnPorsche. That is true, its set production a lot poorer than the later but, the foundation of a great visual medium is always the story and characterization. And goddamn Triage is surely like has been written by Christopher Nolan in his teenage years probably. I'm not exaggerating, I mean I could say it's like had been written by Christopher Nolan on his prime era (*cough*The Dark Knight*cough*) but Triage still had its minor flaw. It was too rushed on certain parts, over-simplification, and making some scenes just like a complete dumb. Yet overall, I'm going to write something controversial.
This by far, the closest I felt joyous, like having nearly the same feeling as I watched Interstellar.
It was freaking genius. On the level script, I have not found something as this genius as what.... when was the last time I watched a genius series? Sherlock? I mean I rarely watched time-travel thingy when it presented in TV. But the logic was tight and the rules on the universe did make sense. And I just can help to compare this little series that the minority of the world know to a mega box office such as Interstellar. Because you see, you know that when you watch both of those things. The foreshadowing, clues spreaded into tiny little details, and god actually a BL which didn't try so hard to became a BL. Fuck even you can ignore all of the BL aspects, it would still a decent drama. This is, motherfucker, what I want on a freaking drama.
And Love Mechanics, why this wasn't trending when now its currently airing? Nobody told me that the shots were straight like movies eh. The framing is to die for, and everything seemed so screenshot-able. Genuinely I felt rather surprised because the budget sure hell increased a lot than their previous incarnation. It presented like, "yes, now we're damn expensive!".
Sure, the Director's Cut is more in conjunction to each scene rather than the usual Cut, because the usual Cut, I'm not saying it's all over the place, but it's quite a bit messier. When I watched a certain scene, sometimes I wondered why this happened, why it suddenly cut to the other scene that has nothing to do with the previous scene. Meanwhile Director's Cut is neater and I could understand the purpose of why something happened in the first place. I get the point why they had the urgency to separate the two cuts (it's money, no surprise). But as far as I concerned, this isn't airing on broadcast television. It's only on the streaming platform, why bother? God, capitalist.
Love Mechanics is still following Vee Vivis, the ultimate asshole who can't seem make up his mind, and the unfortunate Mark Masa. Thank God the story did tone down from the novel by a lot. Vee is all the same, a destructive unknowingly bisexual, but this time, unexpectedly, I understood him. I understood his intention to try his damn hard to make everybody happy. And Mark, I just couldn't help but to comprehend his stupidity to falling in love with someone like that. Well I know that we couldn't choose the person who we fell into. I've been there and certainly having issues to see my stupidity reflected back at me through Mark's action.
At the end of the day, Love Mechanics is a reminiscence of past events. Past loves. Exes. How stupid I am back in the day.
By the way this is what we called Emmy contender for outstanding lead actor in a drama series. Can we agree on that?

With Jared’s return in Infinite Frontier (2021) #4, I thought it was time to finally put together a proper reading list that includes all his appearance in some capacity. So, without further ado:
VITAL
The Book of Fate (1997) #1-12 - miniseries by Keith Giffen & Ron Wagner. While technically acting as a reboot of the earlier Fate series, it is almost certainly the best introduction to the character as a down-on-his-luck petty thief conned into stealing the artifacts of Doctor Fate and finding himself chosen as an agent of true balance. It’s a compelling, humours series built on a heavy subtext of social class dynamics filled with many familiar faces from DC’s magic side.
Batman: Shadow of the Bat (1992) #69-70 - Jared’s singular appearance in a mainstream title but an absolutely delightful one. When signs of some incoming occult apocalypse start appearing all over Gotham, Batman is aided by the man called Fate, now having come into his own as a reality repairman.
Scare Tactics (1996) #8 - Tactics as a whole is a fantastic miniseries starring Jared’s best friend, Arnold Burnsteel, as an unwilling father figure/manager to a band of teenage monsters (two of which are a gay werewolf & a lesbian/bisexual vampire!) but issue #8 specifically picks up where The Book of Fate #6 left off as part of the ‘Convergence’ crossover.
The backups in Impulse Plus (1997) #1, Superboy Plus (1997) #2, Catwoman Plus (1997) #1, Robin Plus (1997) #2 - The backups, read in that order, tell the origins of the Scare Tactics band but also feature Jared & Arnold freeing the kids from a facility known as the R-Complex.
The L.A.W. (Living Assault Weapons) (1999) #1 - Jared’s last appearance before his untimely death but firmly worth reading for the glimpses of him in the reality repairman role.
OPTIONAL
Fate (1994) #0-22 - The original post-Zero Hour series that introduced Jared Stevens as Fate. While a very enjoyable read, it suffers greatly from some of the stereotypes of nineties ‘edgy’ writing and subpar art. Great for a more in-depth look at Jared and Arnold’s friendship and definitely the first stop in the search for more Fate content after the above but not the most gripping introduction.
Underworld Unleashed: Hell’s Sentinel (1995) #1 - Coincidentally one of my favourite Alan Scott stories, it’s also the first time Jared teams up with The Conclave (Sentinel, Phantom Stranger, Etrigan, The Spectre, etc).
More Weird Mystery Tales (1997) #1 - A promo comic for The Book of Fate (1997) featuring a fun little story of Jared meeting The Challengers of the Unknown.
JSA Secret Files (1999) #1 and JSA (1999) #1, #47-48, #58, #63 - The prelude to Jared’s death, the event itself & consequences. Arguably out of character in many ways, these mark Jared’s last major appearances for a good long while.
MODERN
The Multiversity (2014) #2 - In present day, Jared Stevens reappeared as Fate on Earth 13. He’s effectively retained all aspects of his original appearance, with the sole exception of the fact that he’s now part of the League of Shadows with Superdemon, Hellblazer, Annataz, etc.
Superman (2016) #15 - Jared appears as part of the League of Shadows.
DC’s Very Merry Multiverse (2020) #1 - Jared briefly appears in the Earth 13 story.
Infinite Frontier (2021) #4 - Jared’s first major appearance in the modern era happens at the end of the issue, seemingly as a member of Injustice Incarnate. It will most likely be followed up on in Infinite Frontier (2021) #5-6, as he’s even on the cover of the latter.
ASSORTED CAMEOS
Guy Gardner: Warrior (1992) #29
Underworld Unleashed (1995) #3
JLA in Crisis Secret Files (1998) #1
Scare Tactics (1996) #7
Flash Forward (2020) #4
Dark Nights: Death Metal (2021) #5

Trivender au headcanon masterlist
Trina Mora: first of all her last name comes from a sims 4 falsettos game file i hsve where i just tried to randomize her a last name and this is what i got. She's bisexual and has depression i don't think anyone ever doubted that. Also a lot more chaotic in this au than canon? That's just the effect Lavender has on her ig.
Lavender Baker: MY LOVE!! I already explained her name's origin in the pinned post. Like my url implies she's trans and she's also bisexual. Girlboss. Polyamorous but thankfully no longer a cheater we don't talk about that storyline in the original. It didn't happen. How did she get pregnant if she's trans you may ask? I don't fucking know how did Cinderella talk to a tree by that logic. There's no logic in the itw universe <3
Baker Baker: he's a baker if you couldn't guess. Transmasc bisexual wet cat of a man. Malewife. Left handed. Severely traumatized. Daddy issues. Also both him and his wife are jewish, naturally.
Bread Baker: Baker and Lavender's child. His name is Bread. I don't have much to say about him.
Jack: gay gay homosexual gay. Autism. Zero braincells whatsoever.
Little red riding hood: non binary icon 😌. because i said so. Also lesbian. You can't tell me what to do. Also autism but a different genre of autism than Jack.
Cinderella: also a lesbian with the worst case of comphet I've ever seen.
Milky white: bigender icon.
Marvin Gardens: just my regular headcanons for any incarnation of him. ADHD, bpd, being a weatherman. Controversally i did go with the Gardens last name. I'm sorry.
Whizzer Brown: autism, and demiromanticism. Also photographer Whizzer since everyone seems to love this headcanon. And he's from Omaha Nebraska just for the fun of it. He and Marvin have two cats btw he bought both of them which Marvin initially didn't approve of but accepted later on. They're named Chess and Racquet because I'm uncreative.
Mendel fucking Weisenbachfeld: BISEXUAL!! Bi Mendel real!! He canonically didn't earn his diploma in this one 0/10 worst psychiatrist ever
Mr Bungee: not actually homophobic, he himself is gay, but he is a capitalist. Cis white rich gay man. He's also an absolute loser. Frogs.
Jason Gardens: I'm so sorry for making him get the gardens name too. AUTISTIC as hell also aromantic and possibly aplatonic i'm projecting too hard probably. Jack, Red, Cinderella and Bread all count as his siblings and i would love to make content of these kids in the future
Charlotte and Cordelia: idk how exactly they fit into the au except Trina definitely did talk to them first thing when having her sexuality crisis. Charlotte probably has anxiety idk. And some level of non binary.
The witch/Luna: lesbian. But also arospec. And asexual possibly. And autistic now that i think about it. One look at the baker's father was what made her realize she's not attracted to men. She's mostly just done with everyone's bullshit. Her name is Luna i don't know why i decided that. This is my au so my rules. She somehow ends up dating Dot i have no clue how that happens.
Dot: local she/they. Token neurotypical. Some flavor of queer. Idk how she became part of the story. Louis the baker she dated is not the same baker as Baker Baker our local baker, they're actually rivals since they work in the same business.
George Seurat: JUST TO CLARIFY I'm talking about the musical version i wouldn't make headcanons for a real life person!! Autistic. He/she pronouns (don't ask just don't.) doggirl in the same way catgirls are catgirls. As I'm writing this I'm regretting all my life choices.
