I do agree, and it's scientifically sound (pretty sure there is data about how people with better social networks live longer and etc) but also....augh..... what about the severe social issues, difficulty to leave the house, physical issues which lead to like zero socialization energy a majority of the time, etc. etc. Social support can be a replacement for structural support, but.. I guess I just wish it didn't have to be. Community is extremely difficult to build, even moreso if you're someone who has issues with social cues or group conversations or even just being around others in the first place. And blah, nuance, of course I'm just complaining or maybe being too negative or maybe misunderstanding, but, I hardly have the energy to brush my hair once every 2 months.. how am I supposed to maintain a wide social network and be active in a Community and Join Groups lol... sometimes it kind of feels like "er.. well if thats my only option then...... ruh roh". It's overwhelming

The Scoundrel's would like to say their default response is fight, but more often than not it's either freeze or fawn. Particularly the latter.

The Scientist's response is almost always fight, and far more rarely, freeze. He'll never fawn or flee if he can help it.

People exaggerate how much Makoto is intellectually carried by Togami and Kirigiri. I'm not saying he's not helped by them a lot, but much of that is Makoto's own inexperience at investigation and this prosecutorial thinking. Kirigiri's definitely an great help outside of that thought, she points out things Makoto hasn't noticed or thought about, and they even indirectly collaborate to expose Oowada! I've always read them as eventually becoming intellectual equals, so that makes me happy to reconfirm in my head. I'm only at 1-2's trial (edit: just finished it lol), and Makoto is already a very dominant voice, more so than he was in 1-1 even though he was decently active there. He's managed to figure out a lot of details, corner Togami's lies, and he even has the clarity of mind to hold back on pouncing when he comes to what seems like an absolute answer to the rest of the class:

His instincts are excellent, he gets a lot of epiphanies and hunches that he decides to chase down and figure out why he's feeling off about the current situation. In general, Makoto tends to get a really good read on other people when he's paying attention to them, their actions, and what they say/how they speak. It's one of the reasons why I label him as "empathetic, perceptive, and active" on my About page for him! I think a part of his style of thought is that once he gets going he gets going, as he's thinking and piecing things together he keeps making more and more connections and realizing contradictions on the fly. Like assembling a giant puzzle. It also makes me think of how whenever Makoto is presented with "sink or swim" situations, he always swims. He's one of the most reliable people out there in a crisis, it's where he performs his best and pulls off what can seem like honest to god miracles. Just chuck him into the deep end right away.

katsuki never explicitly says “i love you” the first few months. he always has his own way to vocalize his affection—and i stress, in his own way.

where he gets annoyed and says “i want your heart to beat only because of me until you can’t feel it when i’m not there.” or when you guys make love and he says “every time you lay on our bed,” (your house, he came over) “you’d have no choice but to get reminded of me.” something like that. (it’s more extreme than those two examples) and you’d tease him because he says a lot of shit even though the meaning is very simple (though deeply felt).

sometimes those three words are manifested into simple actions. tucking your hair behind your ear while he looks at you calmly. helping you with your necklaces and leaving a kiss at the back of your neck after he connects the hooks. driving you to work even when it’s out of the way.

when he notices you’re feeling anxious and your hands start to twitch, immediately taking them in his own and peppering kisses until you calm down.

even remembering the tiniest details about yourself that you almost forgot until he reminds you himself.

then one day it just falls out of his lips so smoothly. in the middle of a tickle fight and when you both catch your breath you stop to look at one another for a brief moment.

“i love you.” he says with a smile while his chests continued to rise and fall.

that you kept asking him to repeat it over and over while the tips of his ears get redder by the second. (you trapped him against the headboard too)

still, his actions always proved more than those three words. you never thought you could feel something that’s even beyond love, beyond devotion.

it was entirely all possible because of your katsuki.

However sometimes he just can't stop himself and will eat you out (even maybe finger you at the same time), and will be proud when you come

What is your favorite trope woth each CoD guy?

I love favorite tropes. Okay so starting off strong we have:

John Price who I love to see in the exhusband role (the one where everything works out in the end ofc). Give me a John who fought but conceded when you insisted on a divorce. Irreconcilable differences.

But you wouldn't be able to tell from the outside looking in because he doesn't change his actions at all. Still does the yardwork for you every weekend, goes to the grocery store and stocks your fridge, you'd better not leave out a to-do list that you're meaning to get to bc that man will see it sitting on the counter and take it as orders.

And heaven help you if you come home stressed and anxious and he happens to be there (you've taken his key three times, how does he keep getting in?) bc he's pulling you to the bedroom and proceeding to work every bit of stress out of your system enthusiastically. You're going to be a wobbly-kneed foal by the time he's done with you.

And then we have Kyle Garrick who I love to read in the 'everything he's saying could be true but he could also be spinning it to keep you from acting out'. This is a little darker but I love when reader is kidnapped/forcefully relocated through extenuating circumstances and the reasoning he gives could technically be true. But it could also be a line, used to keep you manageable.

Bc he's so pretty and he's so well spoken that surely he wouldn't lie to you. And what he's saying makes so much sense, how could it not be true? All the while he's facilitating things that corroborate his story, pulling you in deeper and deeper until you don't even think of running away anymore.

Johnny MacTavish? Breeding kink breeding kink breeding kink. That man was raised catholic and he wants his own house filled with the pitter-patter of tiny feet. He wants chaos in his home and he's not above a little stealthing to make sure it happens. Give me a man who wants (fictional) babies with me so badly that he would do anything to see it through.

And finally Simon Riley who I'm unafraid to say is my favorite and who I love in any role he plays. But my favorite is when he's half of a ghoap pairing, being so good-naturedly dominant and letting Soap have his lead, running around and getting in trouble while he follows behind and glares at anyone who might upset his boy.

And then Johnny does something silly like kidnapping you and bringing you home as a present (after he spends a little one-on-one time with you first ofc). Then here comes this mountain of a man, looking at poor little kidnapped you, all teary-eyed and pleading and Johnny--grinning like a cat that caught the canary. Proudly showing off his new toy.

Simon who takes it all in with a slow blink before slotting you into their lives like you'd always been there, no you can't leave pet, this is your home now.
