Imagine the sequel to The Batman (2022) opens with a performance similar to the Cirque du Soleil and it goes through nearly the whole performance and just before the end of it they fall and it cuts to the title before they hit the ground. When the film starts back up its on Dick Grayson's traumatised face while officers try to talk to him and then Bruce walks over

Party (1)
Hugh Jackman x reader (actress)
A/N: Sooo this part was written right after clubbing, and I may got carried away, which why I divided it into two parts. The next part should be online on Monday or Tuesday! So stay tuned! :)
Warnings: smut (not completely detailed), unprotected p in v (wrap it up!), mentions of alcohol, some swearing, mentions of pregnancy
Not proofread!
Enjoy!
Previous Part
---------------------------------------------------
It's happening. I'm officially a year older today. Honestly, I don't even feel the change. Except for maybe the overwhelming sense of everything right now - the music, the laughter, the champagne that seems to be in my hand all the time - and him. Especially him. Hugh.
The night feels like a dream, but it's real - my birthday, my party. I rented this entire club for the occasion, and it's filled to the brim with friends, the people I care about, the ones who've been there through everything. Some are people I used to only see on screens, in magazines, but now they're real, they're here, and they're celebrating me. It's surreal.
The cast of The Greatest Showman showed up early, and I've barely had amoment to myself. Zac and Zendaya are dancing like they don't have a care in the world. Keala's by the bar, harmonizing with the DJ's set like only she can. Everywhere I turn, someone new is pulling me in for a hug, giving me a gift, toasting to me and wishing me all the best.
"Happy birthday, y/n!" Another friend comes up to me - one of the faces I vaguely recognize through the blur of champagne and flashing lights. They hand me a beautifully wrapped gift, and I accept it with a smile, although my mind is elsewhere. I'm grateful, of course, but the attention, the noise, the constant flow of people - it's overwhelming.
But my eyes always drift back to him. Hugh.
I catch a glimpse of him near the bar, his tall, broad frame leaning casually as he sips martini, talking to Ryan. The way the dim lights catch his features - sharp jawline, eyes that sparkle with a mischievous glint - it's like time slows down when I see him. My heart speeds up, a familiar heat spreading through me. It's not the alcohol. It's him.
I can't stop thinking about him, not tonight. There's something about the way he looks, how he moves in that perfectly tailored suit that drives me crazy. Maybe it's because I've had one too many glasses of champagne, or maybe it's just that he's Hugh and he's everything I want right now. I'm feeling it, that hormonal pull that still won't quit. It's like I'm on fire, and he's the only one who can put it out.
Our eyes meet across the room. A slow, easy smile spreads across his lips, and I feel a rush of heat flood through me. God, he's gorgeous. I feel myself gravitating toward him before I even realize what I'm doing weaving through the crowd.
"Enjoying your party, love?" His voice is low when I reach him, the deep itmbre sending shivers down my spine. He leans in, his breath warm against my ear, and I inhale the familiar scent of him - something earthy, masculine, mixed with the faintest hint of martini.
"I would be enjoying it a lot more if you weren't all the way over here." I murmur, my fingers finding the lapels of his jacket, tugging him closer.
Hugh laughs softly, his hand sliding around my waist with such ease it feels like second nature.
"Oh, I see. Is the birthday girl feeling a little. neglected?"
"Maybe." I tease, but the truth is, it's not just that. It's everything. I feel wound up, my body buzzing from the alcohol, the excitement, and from him. The way his hand rests so possessively on my waist. The way his eyes darken just a bit when I lean in closer and my chest brushing against his.
He's trying to play it cool, but I know him too well. He feels it too, this spark between us that's been burning hotter as the night goes on. And right now, I can't think of anything but us.
I press my body against his, my lips just grazing his ear as I whisper.
"You know, I've been thinking about you all night."
His grip tightens on my waist, his thumb brushing my hip in a way that makes me bite my lip.
"Oh is that so?" His voice is teasing, but there's an edge to it now, something darker and more primal.
"Mmhmm" I hum, letting my hands drift up his chest, feeling the firmness of his body beneath the thin fabric of his shirt. My fingers toy with his collar, brushing against his skin.
"I can't stop thinking about how good you look in this suit."
He chuckles, a low, rumbling sound hat vibrates through my body.
"You're playing with fire, baby."
"Oh I like the burn." I grin.
For a moment, we're just standing here, locked in this invisible dance of tension and desire, the noise of he party fading into the background. My fingers slip into his hair, tugging lightly, and I can feel the way his breath catches in response. He doesn't move, just looks at me with that slow smoldering gaze that makes my knees feel weak.
"Y/n.." he murmurs, his voice a little rough now, like he's barely holding himself back. "We're at your birthday party. You do realize that?"
I grin, pressing my hips against him as I lean up to whisper in his ear, "And what do you wanna do about that?"
His hand grips my waist tighter pulling me even closer, his mouth so close to mine I can feel his breath against my lips.
"You're trouble, you know that?"
"Only for you, baby."
Before I can say anything else, the music changes, and I feel the beat thrum through my body, pulling me onto the dance floor. Hugh follows, his hands on my hips as we move together.
Dancing with him feels like the most natural thing in the world. Every sway of my hips, every turn, it's like our bodies are in sync, perfectly attuned to each other. I can feel the heat of his hands on my skin, even through the fabric of my dress, and it makes me ache for more.
I turn in his arms, pressing my back against his chest and grinding against him as the music pulses around us. His hands tighten on my hips pulling me back harder against him, and I can feel his breath on my neck, hot and heavy.
"Y/n.." he whispers in my ear, voice strained but playful.
"You're making it very hard to be a gentleman right now."
A wicked smile curves my lips. I glance over my shoulder, giving him a sultry look. "Who said I want you to be a gentleman?"
His eyes darken, the playful glint replaced by something more primal. He presses a kiss to my neck, just below my ear, sending goosebumps down my arms. I turn in his arms, facing him fully, and pull him into another kiss, this one deeper, more intense, oblivious to the crowd dancing around us
He groans softly into the kiss, his hands sliding down my sides and his fingers gripping my hips like he's trying to keep some semblance of control. But I can feel him losing it, just as much as I am. The way his body presses into mine, the heat between us - it's almost unbearable.
The music blurs into the background, and all I can think about is the feel of him behind me. His body moving with mine, the way his hands seem to leave trails of fire on my skin. I look up, our lips just inches apart.
"We should stop.." he murmurs though his grip on me doesn't loosen. If anything, he pulls me closer.
I tilt my head up, brushing my lips against his in the barest of touches, teasing.
"Do you really want to?"
He doesn't answer with words. Instead, his mouth crashes against mine, and I lose myself in the taste of him. My hands are in his hair, tugging him closer, and I can feel the way his body tenses against mine, like he's holding back everything he wants to do.
I know we're still in the middle of the dance floor, but I don't care. Right now, it's just him and me, lost in the heat of the moment. I deepen the kiss, letting my tongue slide against hus, and he groans into my mouth, pulling me even closer, if that's even possible.
After what feels like an eternity, we finally pull away from the dance floor. My head is spinning, but not only from the champagne. I grab his hand, pulling him toward the photobooth in the corner of the club.
"Come on, let's do something fun!" I say with a playful grin, tugging him inside.
He laughs, following me into the cramped space. The curtain closes pehind us, and I waste no time climbing onto his lap, my legs straddling his.
"Smile for the camera!" I say, sticking my tongue out at him just as the first flash goes off.
We make silly faces for the next few shots - sticking our tongues out crossing our eyes - but I can feel the tension building between us again. My body is still humming from the dancing, the closeness, the way his hands feel on my thighs, even through the fabric of my dress.
I lean in for the next shot, kissing his cheek, but it doesn't stop there. The kiss lingers, my lips trailing down to his jaw, his neck, and I can feel the way his breath hitches beneath me.
"Love.." he breathes, his hands sliding up my thighs, gripping them tightly. "You're really trying to drive me crazy tonight, aren't you?"
smile against his skin, my lips brushing his ear as I whisper, "Maybe."
The camera flashes again, but we're not paying attention anymore. My mouth finds his, and the kiss quickly turns heated, desperate. His hands slide up my sides, pulling me closer until there's no space left between us. I can feel him hard against me, and it only makes me want him more.
I grind against him, and he groans softly, his hands gripping my hips so tightly I know I'II have bruises tomorrow. But I don't care. All I care about is the feel of him beneath me, the way his mouth moves against mine and the way his hands are everywhere at once.
We're lost in each other, so caught in the heat of the moment that I barely register the curtain ripping open. It takes a second for reality to hit, but when it does, it's not subtle.
"Hey! No funny business in there!" a voice teases, giggling as it echoes in the small booth.
I freeze, still straddling Hugh, our lips inches apart, our breathing heavy. I look up and find Chris standing there with his brother Scott, both grinning like they've just caught us in the act - because, well, they pretty much have.
"Really, guys?" I groan, burying my face in Hugh's neck in a mixture of embarrassment and frustration. Hugh chuckles, his chest vibrating beneath me, still catching his breath.
Chris gives me an exaggerated wink. "What? Thought we'd come join the party. The booth's big enough for four, right?"
"Get out of here, man!" Hugh says with a laugh, shaking his head, though he's still holding onto me like he has no intention of letting go. His hands remain firm on my waist and his body warm beneath mine. Scott leans against the doorway of the booth, grinning. "You know, we're happy for you two, but maybe save the PDA for after the birthday cake?"
I roll my eyes and slide off Hugh's lap, standing up and adjusting my dress, trying not to look too flustered.
"Fine, fine. The booth is yours!"
Hugh stands up behind me, smoothing down his suit and running a hand through his hair. He's got that mischievous glint in his eyes, though one that tells me this is far from over.
"Have fun!" he says, stepping out of the booth, his hand slipping into mine as we head back toward the party. I squeeze his fingers, unable to hide the grin on my face. But as we walk away, I feel the heat between us still simmering beneath the surface. It's like every brush of his hand against mine, every glance he gives me, is charged with electricity. I don't think either of us is done with what we started.
We slip into a quieter area of the club, tucked away from the noise of the party.
There's a small storage room just off the side of the main hallway, dimly lit, the perfect place to catch our breath and maybe finish what we started.
Inside the storage room, it's cramped and cluttered, a stark contrast to the opulent club just outside. The air smells faintly of cleaning products and dust. Shelves ine the walls, stacked with supplies - boxes, extra bottles of liquor, random equipment that looks untouched for months. There's a small, rickety table in the corner, just big enough for me to sit on, though it Iooks like it could collapse at any moment.
Hugh's hands are on me the second the door clicks shut. His lips find mine in a fierce, hungry kiss, and the world around us fades into a blur of heat and need. His fingers grip my tips, pulling me against him, and can feel the hardness of him through his pants, pressing insistently against me, The urgency between us is undeniable, like we've been holding back all night and can't wait another second.
He guides me backward, and stumble slightly as my back hits the edge of the small table, my breath catching. His mouth leaves a scorching trail along my neck, his teeth grazing the sensitive skin where my shoulder meets my collarbone. I shiver, my hands tangling in his hair, pulling him closer.
"I need you." I whisper, my voice breathy and desperate.
His response is a low growl vibrating against my skin. "God, y/n.. I need you too. I've needed you all night."
With one swift motion, he lifts me onto the table, my legs wrapping around his waist instinctively. The table creaks beneath me, unsteady from our combined weight, but neither of us cares. His hands slide up my thighs, pushing my dress higher, bunching it around my hips.
"You have no idea what you're doing to me." he murmurs against my ear, his voice thick with desire. His nands grip my waist, and his lips brush my neck again, leaving a trail of heat wherever he touches.
"I've been thinking about you.. imagining this.. every second of tonight."
A soft moan escapes my lips as his fingers tease the edge of my panties, and I arch my back, pressing against him. "Hugh please.."
Hugh's mouth crashes back onto mine swallowing my words. He fumbles with his belt, the leather slipping through the loops with a soft hiss, and the sound alone makes my pulse race. I can feel the tension in his body, the way his hands shake slightly with need, and it drives me wild.
He pulls my panties to the side, and I gasp as his fingers slide against me, teasingly testing.
"Fuck. You're so wet." he whispers, his voice hoarse. His fingers dip inside me briefly, making me gasp.
"And all for me?"
"Only for you baby.." I manage to say parely able to form the words through the haze of desire.
I need you, Hugh. Now."
With a groan, he frees himself from his pants, and I feel the hot, hard length of him pressing against my thigh. His fingers dig into my hips as he positions himself at my entrance, and I bite my lip, already rembling with anticipation.
"Tell me what you want." he murmurs, his lips brushing my ear. "Say it."
"I want you." I breathe, my voice shaking with need.
"I want you to fuck me."
He pushes inside me slowly, inch by inch, and my head falls back as a moan escapes my lips. The sensation of him filling me is overwhelming, a mix of pleasure and pain as he stretches me and takes me.
"Fucking hell, y/n." he groans, his forehead pressed against mine as he bottoms out inside me.
"You feel...so fucking good."
The table creaks beneath us, swaying slightly from our movements, but I barely notice. My legs tighten around his waist, pulling him deeper, and he begins to move slow at first, then harder, faster, until the rhythm of his thrusts matches the beat of the music still thudding through the walls. With every movement, I feel the tension building inside me, winding tighter and tighter until l'm on the verge of breaking. Hugh's hands roam my body, gripping my thighs my hips, sliding up to cup my breasts through my dress. His lips find mine again, his tongue tangling with mine as he thrusts into me with a desperation that mirrors my own.
"You make me feel so good.." I whimper, my nails digging into his shoulders.
"Don't stop... please, don't stop.."
His hand slides down to grip my ass pulling me harder against him as he thrusts deeper, his breath coming in ragged gasps.
"I love you, y/n." he groans, his voice rough with need. "I fucking love you."
"I love you, Hugh." I whisper, my body trembling as I hold onto him for dear life.
"I love you so much."
We're completely lost in each other now, the world around us disappearing as we move together and the table creaking loudly beneath us.
At one point, I hear something fall - a bottle or maybe a box knocked off one of the shelves - but neither of us cares. We're too far gone, too wrapped up in the heat of the moment to think about anything else.
His thrusts become more erratic, harder, faster, and I feel the tension inside me snap.
My climax crashes through me, sending waves of pleasure rippling through every nerve in my body. I cry out, my nails raking down his back as I hold on, riding the wave of ecstasy.
Hugh groans loudly as he follows me over the edge, his body tensing as he thrusts one last time, his release hot and deep inside me. We're both shaking, breathless, our bodies pressed so tightly together it's like we're one.
For at few moments, we - just stay like that, holding each other with our foreheads pressed together as we try to catch our breath. The room is silent now, save for the sound of our breathing, the faint thump of music still vibrating through the walls.
After a long moment, Hugh pulls back slightly, his eyes dark and intense as he looks at me. He leans down, pressing a soft, lingering kiss to my lips.
"You're amazing." he whispers, his voice thick with emotion.
I smile, my heart still racing. "So are you."
He kisses me again, but this time slower and sweeter, like he's savoring the moment. Then, with a soft laugh he pulls back and reaches into his pocket, pulling out a handkerchief.
"Here, love." he says with a grin, his back pocket and pulling out a handkerchief. It's such a gentlemanly gesture, one that makes me laugh softly. He helps me clean up, his touch careful and respectful, and I can't help but feel a rush of affection for him in that moment.
"Always prepared, huh?" I tease, running a hand through his tousled hair, which is still slightly damp with sweat from our heated encounter.
"I like to think so." he replies with a wink, adjusting his pants and redoing his belt.
He then wrapped his arms around me and pulled me closer while kissing softly my forehead.
"You okay?" he murmurs, his voice soft.
smile, my heart still pounding 'More than okay.
He chuckles, pressing a kiss to my forehead before slowly puling away and helping me straighten out my dress. We both fumble with our clothes trying to make ourselves look at least somewhat presentable, but I can't stop myself from smoothing his shirt, adjusting his tie, and brushing a hand through his hair.
"You're fussing." He says with a lazy smile while his hands find my waist again. "They're going to know we've been up to something."
"I don't care!" I laugh softly, though I can feel my cheeks flushing. I tug on his shirt collar one last time, making sure everything is back in place.
Then, he looks at me with that familiar softness in his eyes, the intensity from earlier replaced with something deeper. His hand cups my cheek, his thumb brushing my skin, and for a moment, we just stand there in the dim light, staring at each other like the rest of the world doesn't exist.
"What if you were pregnant?"

You know what, now that he's back I'm gonna say it:
For as good a Showman as he is, when it comes to his actual chosen profession of a show creator Mr. Puzzles actually kind of sucks.
-He can't handle when things go off-script even slightly, which is ironic considering his four greatest successes came from giving the crew (or a related character) a prompt and just sitting back and recording the fireworks.
-Everything always has to be about him, even when in-context it really shouldn't be.
-When he has full creative control over the crew he has NO UNIQUE IDEAS. Everything he makes is a blatant rip-off of another show that only gets elevated to affectionate parody thanks to the very cast that he chose explicitly because he believed they sucked and wanted a challenge.
-Speaking of which, he clearly doesn't know quality when he sees it and either severely underestimated them, overestimated himself, or both, because it took them less than ten minutes to match and surpass his precious Five Stars.
-The five stars that took him most of a movie to get AND, need I remind you, THEY EARNED FOR HIM UNINTENTIONALLY!!!!
-It's clear from his monologue at the end of today's episode (and the fact that the episode exists at all) that, despite claiming otherwise, he has learned nothing from his defeat.

Hsmtmts headcanons i would like to think that the og cast got along with the wildcats
thank you for the ask! I did another post about this a couple of months ago but let's see how my feelings have changed and if I can come up with some new ones...
I also would like to think that the og cast got along with the wildcats! I think that alyson reed (who played Mrs Darbus) became a huge mentor for Gina and helped her out, as well as Ashlyn. I can definitely see Lucas grabeel (aka Ryan) teaching Frankie some jazz squares and teaching him and Seb everything he knows. Monique Coleman, aka Taylor, definitely becomes a huge inspiration for Kourtney and continues to be a really good big sister/second mom for. and I think Bart johnson (who played Troy's dad) became a sort of fatherly figure for all of them, especially for the ones who didn't really get that kind of attention that they require. he takes Emmy out for ice cream all the time before finishing the movie to make up for her being cut and remembers everyone's birthdays.
the show they put on for the spring musical has to be the greatest showman. I stole this idea from someone else and ever since I cannot imagine anything more perfect to send Ricky and Kourtney out with a bang. obviously we have Ricky as Phillip and Gina as Anne, and I think jet could play pt Barnum and dani could play his wife. I think Ashlyn could play Lettie and Kourtney could play Jenny Lind, Emmy could be one of pt's kids, Carlos could play the general small guy, and Seb (since he has to come back, right?) could play Anne's brother. honestly I have no idea if that works but I could totally see Kourtney nailing "never enough" and Ashlyn absolutely slaying "this is me." or maybe even the roles could be reversed! I could see ash doing "never enough" and kourt doing "this is me"! but I think Ricky and Gina would be so amazing doing "rewrite the stars" with their amazing chemistry and lovely singing voices.
honestly I headcanon that there's another freshmen student who joins the theater club and becomes a really good friend to Emmy. I always feel bad that she's so young and really doesn't have that many friends and is the only one on the young side, so there's a theater girl (or boy!) who transfers mid year and is an amazing singer and actor who plays pt barnum's other kid in the musical
i read a fanfic where Ricky and Gina secretly adopt a golden retriever while they're still in school and honestly it was one of the funniest and most rina things EVER. I definitely think they do this and struggle to hide the poor puppy from Gina's mom and Ricky's dad, but eventually they find out. Ricky's dad is totally cool with it, actually, he just wishes Ricky would have told him about it sooner. to no one's surprise, Gina's mom FLIPS. OUT. she grounds Gina for two months and takes away all cell phone, television, and computer privileges, restricting her free time so when she's not doing chores or her homework she is sitting in her room reading. she even puts locks on the window so Ricky can't sneak in! also to no one's surprise, Ricky figures out how to pick locks so he can sneak in to see his not so secret sweetheart. it's the longest two months of their lives but afterwards they're back and better than ever! oh, and they name the dog Romeo. and when they're older and actually moved out of their parents houses they buy another golden retriever puppy and name her Juliet.
ricky gets the role of Romeo in the movie "Romeo and Juliet" after Mack leaves. Quinn doesn't even have to think about her decision; immediately after "love you forever" and before the wildcats go to Denny's she pulls him aside and says "that took guts. you are so in love with that girl you don't even know what to do with yourself. what are you going to do all day while she's filming a movie? oh, but you don't say anything, because I have a proposition for you. your chemistry is so amazing, so natural, so artistic, that I would like to extend an offer for you to replace Mack in the movie and play the Romeo to Gina's Juliet." and obviously Ricky says yes without even hesitating, and then later realizes he should have thought about it but doesn't want to back down and let Gina down so he sticks with it. the movie ends up breaking a dozen box office records and Gina's career skyrockets as a result, as well as Ricky's music career, since he helped with the music and songs as well.
mack and Gina end up becoming good friends, and Mack and Ricky are even able to get past all the awkwardness of the past and be friendly to each other. Mack moves to salt lake to try and kickstart "mark and spark" again and he babysits Romeo all the time - even uses the dog in the eventual tv show as his Spark.
nini comes back to salt lake over the summer and reconnects with her old friends before her eventual tour in the fall, as she's become a quick rising singing sensation. she is elated that Ricky and Gina are actually together and harbors no hard feelings at all towards the pair. however, it's still hecka awkward between her and Ricky until Ricky reveals he wrote a song all about his feelings of hurt he has towards his ex and nini reveals that she did the same. after they play each other the songs, the two agree to try and be friends again and end up becoming almost as close as they used to be (I NEED rini friendship, they weren't good as a couple but like I just want them to be friends again 😕😕)
the wildcats return to camp shallow lake over the summer and put on a production of some obscure musical chosen by miss Jenn that no one has ever heard of before. of course, it's a smash hit and everyone becomes even more popular
Kourtney graduates top of her class and her valedictorian speech goes down in history as one of the greatest speeches ever performed at a high school graduation. she has the whole crowd in the palm of her hand and makes EVERYONE cry
ashlyn throws a raging good ol' times party at her house after graduation to celebrate Ricky and Kourtney and even ej comes back to celebrate
speaking of ej, he changes his major to become a teacher and winds up back at east high to become the new sports athletic coordinator. the football team has six successive playoff wins in a row under coach ej (since he refuses to go by his last name). he ends up marrying Val later on and the two have a bunch of adorable kids
ash and Maddox end up buying camp shallow lake from Dewey wood when he gets too old and they build a permanent cabin for them and their eventual family: a bunch of tumbling, amazing, singing redheads
ricky and Gina, as I mentioned before, have two goldens and at least two kids. maybe just the one. I imagine Ricky as a girl dad, because he's such a simp, and the two little girls have the most beautiful curls and are a perfect mix of their parents. Ricky is a musician but he also gets a minor in education, so he ends up becoming a music teacher/theater teacher when he's a little older and his girls need a little more stability. Gina is still a movie star and even though her schedule is crazy, she can always come home to Ricky and her puppies and her girls. that's one thing she can count on: forever.
anyways, that's all that I have for now! thank you for the wonderful ask 😚 if anyone else has any asks, headcanons, etc about marvel, hsmtmts, zombies, hunger games, pjo, and probably many others 😅 feel free to ask! my ask box is always open 😎

My brain has been working nonstop because as much as i love willemijn she posts vague things on her instagram story like this:
Tumblr media
so naturally i have been theorizing all day and i have compiled my evidence and when i tell you i’ve never manifested anything harder i mean it. my conclusion is that this announcement is about her being jenny lind in the greatest showman on broadway. i am going to explain myself in a moment but i just need to preface this with something else so that what i’m trying to say makes sense. so back in 2017 when willemijn had her solo concert she sang a song from ghost the musical and then the next show she was in was a German production of ghost (do you see where i’m going with this). so my thought process was back in december she sang this is me with gaia aikman at that christmas tv program that was broadcast in the netherlands and then at the end of june at musicals in concert she along with two other musical actresses sang never enough, and what musical are both of those songs from? the greatest showman and they have both been prior (one might saying leading up) to her saying she has news today. my other evidence includes that she has worked with pasek and paul who wrote the music for it originally and willemijn and rebecca ferguson (who played jenny lind in the movie) look scarily similar. plus i am going to make the case of why did they originally cast an actress that can sing but then cast someone else to sing when willemijn looks like who they cast visually and has the voice of an angel, so just like people want jeremy jordan in it, i want willemijn in it. honorable mentions go to she’s finally going to do vlogs and/or finally putting out an album but I don’t have any evidence to back up those possibilities. also if this is barely coherent i sincerely apologize because i myself struggled to put my own thoughts into words.

Hayley's Completely Self-Indulgent and Borderline Ridiculous Bill Cipher Playlist (Part 1)
Just gonna go for it and make a masterpost of all the songs (video links included) I've got on my Bill playlist so far.
'So far' being the key words; I've added over a hundred songs at this point and will probably add more in time. Whether it's songs I think Bill would like, songs that just remind me of Bill, the most obnoxious songs to hear on a party playlist, songs connected to the side of himself he tries to bury in lies, or songs that I'll admit are a bit of a stretch but they still remind me of Bill so I added them anyway, I've got a little bit of everything here.
I do take requests for songs to add but also don't make fun of me for some of the more obvious and basic choices because I know. I know. But also I can do whatever I want forever.
I did put some small reasons/infodumps next to each song, to explain why I picked them. Or I'll just say that it had Bill vibes to me and leave it at that.
Anyway, for anyone interested (if you actually read all my little blurbs, massive props to you), the first chunk of songs are listed below. Just a heads up, it's LONG and this is only the first part:
Mariana & The Diamonds - Oh No! - Yeah, obviously. Obviously.
Taylor Swift - Death Note 「AMV」 Look What You Made Me Do - I said it before, I'll say it again; Death Note AMV creators can turn water into wine and every time I watch this one, I can't stop picturing the song from the POV of a manipulative, power-hungry bastard with a God Complex. So you know, Bill. But only specifically in this context, it doesn't hit as hard without the AMV.
Fall Out Boy - Centuries - Listen to the lyrics of the chorus. That's Bill. Like...that's Bill. The rest of the song has a lot of really good Bill lyrics as well.
Scissor Sisters - I Can't Decide - Shut up. SHUT UP. I knew about the song WAY before it was ever applied to Bill. Heck, I knew about this song way before Bill even existed so SHUSH. But like, come on. Sometimes a song choice is overapplied to a character for a reason; it works.
Creature Feature - The Greatest Show Unearthed - I think my teenage self would strangle me if I didn't put at least one Creature Feature song on here. Lucky for him, I've put more than one. But the other one comes later. ...Did I add it? I should check that.
Voltaire - Land of the Dead - Speaking of teenage Hayley's tastes, time for the Voltaire songs I've definitely just added because of the 'I'm 13 and this is Deep' vibes. But also Voltaire fucks severely and every Bill playlist should have at least one of his songs on it, in my personal opinion.
Voltaire - When You're Evil - Once again, I'm 13 and this is Deep, but also tell me you can't imagine Bill singing this to himself. No, not in a sexy way in a human body who looks like Oregonian Onceler, in the edgy teenager way where you thinks you're the most evilest evil in the entire world but you're really just going through puberty and also probably transgender, but you don't know that yet.
Voltaire - Death Death (Devil, Devil, Evil, Evil, Song) - Once again, edgy teen who thinks he's the most evilest evil in the entire world (I don't think Bill is actually irredeemably, unquestionably evil, he'd just really vibe with 'Ooh I'm so evil! I'm such a bad guy!' songs).
I'm pretty sure this is the last Voltaire song for now, unless I added Brains! somewhere down the line and forgot. (Also just a mild warning but this song DOES use the f-slur, if that bugs you)
The Greatest Showman Cast - The Other Side - Sighs. Look. It's a Bill and Ford song to me. I don't even mean romantically or anything, just LISTEN to it. That's them. If there were a Gravity Falls Musical, dedicated to recreating the entire show through song and dance, the two of them meeting for the first time would have a song exactly like this. I refuse to apologize for this choice. Also a Gravity Falls musical would rule, someone should make that eventually.
Italobrothers - My Life is a Party - Just the first of my many Dragostea Din Tei choices for this playlist. I really like the original, okay? And I usually end up attached to people who try to remix it/make a new song outta it. This one has the bonus of also being a fun party song.
David Guetta, Bebe Rexha - I'm Good (Blue) - Speaking of the first choice of a song I have multiple times on this playlist in some form. I don't care what anybody says, I think this song is a lot of fun and I think Bill would have it on one of his party playlists somewhere. Probably the Nightcore version, it's a lot quicker and makes for a better fistpumping song, in my personal opinion.
Set It Off ft. William Beckett - Wolf In Sheep's Clothing - Yeah, I'm not explaining this one, you get it.
Vocaloid (made by Fukase) - ‘Cause I’m a Liar - I actually don't like this one all that much, and I can feel everyone's judgment about having a fucking Kokichi Ouma fansong on here. But the lyrics don't lie. Or...I guess they do. It's a song about being a liar, that's the joke. (Also slight content warning but the video has a lot of flashy effects, so take caution!)
Kesha - Blow - Of course we've gotta have some Kesha. There will be more. She needs no explanation.
Kesha - TiK ToK - Once again, not explaining myself. It's Kesha.
Taylor Swift -【AMV】Death Note - Blank Space - What I said about the last Death Note AMV with a Taylor Swift song. It just works so well for a manipulative guy like Bill, but only when set to Death Note specifically. Why? I have no idea, it just hits different. It's like eating crackers with cheese whiz: not a healthy or fantastic snack by any means but sometimes I just want some junk food. Except this junk food manipulates people.
Kesha - Take It Off - Once again, will not explain my Kesha choices. You understand that Bill and the Henchmaniacs would be Kesha girlies or you don't.
Neil Cicierega - It's Gonna Get Weird - Giggles. Also funny enough, I don't listen to this all that often. Dunno why.
Gravity Falls Soundtrack - Is It Bottomless - Triangulum Entagulum - I mean, yeah.
Gravity Falls Soundtrack - A Very Tricky Triangle - I mean, yeah x2. I don't care if this might be cheating, I can do what I want. But also, isn't this such a FUN instrumental? I love the music they use for him in the show SO much. It's so sinister and otherworldly. Top-notch soundtracking.
Voltaire - Brains! - Oh, hey, I did add Brains! to this. Anyway, we can tell I was a Billy and Mandy kid so I'm gonna project that onto Bill. Also I'm 90% sure this is the last Voltaire song I have on the list. For now.
Trolls 3 - Mount Rageous [Extended Edition] - This is absolutely one of my most self-indulgent picks on the list, especially because I went straight for the one that includes the Sweet Dreams part of the song (because I guess the soundtrack doesn't actually have it?)
Anyway, it's a song all about faking it to make it, sung by people who have gone on to manipulate everyone around them by using others for their own abilities. So I think I at least have SOME excuse to connect it to Bill. Maybe? Possibly? I think so. Plus it fucks and actually got me to semi-care about the Trolls films again.
Alex Hirsch - We'll Meet Again - Giggles again.
Marina and The Diamonds - Bubblegum Bitch - Insert that post about always understanding whenever someone slaps Bubblegum Bitch onto a character playlist. That character's Miss Sugar Pink Liquor Liquor Lips now. Admittedly I don't have any other real reason for it to be on here, other than its extreme levels of cunt. Maybe Bill adds it to his party mix at Pyronica's request or something. Now THERE'S a Bubblegum Bitch.
Rihanna - Disturbia - Another song that gives me Bill and Ford vibes. Pretty self-explanatory, probably. Probably?
Malia J - Smells Like Teen Spirit - I also have the original version and the Weird Al parody down further on the playlist, and I tie them all to Bill in different ways. This one's for his more ominous and sinister side, where it's like 'I'm coming and I'm not leaving :)', whereas the original touches more on the 'teen/young adult revolutionary' side of things and the Weird Al cover is just because Weird Al. Also this cover is so pretty and chilling to me.
David Guetta ft.Sia - Titanium - This one's kind of a 'I could take it or leave it on here' song, admittedly, but also it gives me pre-Second Dimension-Destruction Bill vibes, in a twisted kind of sense. Like, he feels all powerful and like nobody can stop him...as he proceeds to make the worst mistakes of his life and destroys everything he knows. Might stew on this one and potentially remove it, but it can stay for now.
Ricky Martin - Livin' La Vida Loca - I feel like this one speaks for itself. He's insane. He's cah-RAZZYYYYY. Also it's a fun party song.
Freak Kitchen - Freak of the Week - This one just fucking rules. I'll admit connecting it to Bill outside of the title is a stretch, it's more a critique on people so desperate to achieve fame and fortune that they'll go as far as putting their own lives in danger to get it, whereas Bill is more likely to put others in danger to achieve his own goals.
But also he was willing to destroy the universe with himself inside it, for the sake of the most wild party imaginable. Also, desperate to seek fame and fortune without considering the dangers necessary to get there? Could always stretch further, say it's a Bill and Ford song. Either way, I'm keeping it on the playlist.
Christina Milian - Am to Pm - I've just really liked this song since I was like, ten, and it's a fun party song. Not all of Bill's party songs have to be super annoying, sometimes they can be bops. The bops make you lower your defenses. So when he drops a What Does The Fox Say? down the line, you're completely blindsided. Yes, it will be on here.
Viva La Vida - Coldplay - A human Bill song if I ever heard one. Another fairly basic choice, but again, I don't think it's a HUGE stretch to tie it to him. Plus again, insert that Top Forty Hits quote from Dipper here. They're in the top forty for a reason, they're CATCHY.
Eurobeat Brony - Discord (Remix) - Yeah.
Alina - When You Leave [Numa Numa] [Basshunter Radio Mix] - I told you this song was going to be all over the playlist. And we still haven't gotten to the original yet. Also fun fact; there was originally another version of the song before this one, but upon a relisten I was like 'Hmm, nah, it's good but I don't know if it's got that Bill energy.' Yes, I can and do compare Dragostea Din Tei covers for my Bill Cipher playlist like I'm comparing paint swatches at Home Depot. It's that important to me.
Switchfoot - Dare You To Move - I have no excuses for putting a song from a psuedo-Christian rock band on my Bill Cipher playlist outside of the sheer nostalgia factor, and I can't even pretend it's a one-off thing because there's another one of their songs further down the list. But CONSIDER; the Axolotl singing it to him. That's all I'm going to say. I will not apologize.
BB Cooper - Blame - To me, this is one of those songs about the feelings Bill probably tries to drown in lies. I realize it's a stretch, because we know he wouldn't actually stop and self-reflect in the way that the song does.
But at the same time...I could easily see someone making an animatic set to this song with Pre-Second-Dimension-Destruction Bill at the beginning and it switches to present-day Bill for the second half. I see the vision, even if I realize Bill would try his hardest NOT to see it.
Either that or he'll interpret it as a 'You see? I'm not the villain here. My tragic past is the real reason I'm like this.' song. But you know, there's always that thin thread that's tied to his past, before everything unfolded as it did. Where at some point, he really and truly wasn't to blame. Alas.
They Might Be Giants - Particle Man - Heehee hoohoo triangle man.
Tom Cardy (ft. Montaigne) - Red Flags UNO REVERSE - I added these two in reverse order, oops. Oh, well. I feel like it adds to the chaos.
Tom Cardy (ft. Montaigne) - Red Flags - Of course. Sidenote but this song is physically impossible to sing out loud in public unless you want some WEIRD looks from people.
Hudson Mohawke - Cbat - Tell me he wouldn't love this garbage.
Circus Music - Just circus music. Because he's a massive clown.
Earth Wind & Fire - Boogie Wonderland - Just a fun song, especially for parties.
Nicki Minaj - Super Bass - It feels so wrong to think of a party mix without it, and I feel like Bill would agree.
Toby Fox - Your Best Friend and Toby Fox - Your Best Nightmare - These two are tied together in that order, for pretty obvious reasons.
Simple Plan - I'm Just A Kid - I bounced back and forth with myself before eventually taking Teenagers by MCR off the playlist. I'm not doing that with this song. It just...it feels Bill, you know?
Maybe specifically my version of him, but also can't you imagine your own version of him blasting this at the age of like, fourteen? Am I wrong? I don't feel like I'm wrong. Also I might add Teenagers back onto the list, he needs more of those angsty teen songs.
Darude - Sandstorm - It's a meme, it's funny, it'd be a blast at parties.
Flo Rida ft. Kesha - Right Round - I wouldn't count this as a Kesha song but also I could easily see them bumping it in the Fearamid.
Sia - Chandelier and Toad - Chandelier - Once again, a two-for-one special. I feel like Bill would enjoy both for various reasons. He can interpret it as just another party song, while ignoring the obvious darker implications behind the song of masking your true pain and emotions through a wild and reckless lifestyle. He'd probably love to get as literal as possible with it and try swinging from a chandelier. The Toad once is ear-splitting annoying. I think they fit
Florence and the Machine - Cosmic Love - This one is just for Mina. That's the only reason it's here.
Weird Al - Polka Face - Funny Weird Al song.
Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby - Drake suggested this one and it was right. I laughed and added it, then proceeded to get jumpscared by it when I shuffled the playlist this morning. So that was funny. Go, white boy, go.
Tim Rothrock & Jim Wise - Goofy Goober Rock - More Drake suggestions (this and the other Spongebob songs, along with a few others down the line), and this makes me smile extra hard because I've been in such a Spongebob mood lately :)
Spongebob - Jelly Fish Jam (4 Hour Edition) - Yes, the 4-hour edition specifically. If you're not jamming as much as the jellyfish did in the episode, you're doing something wrong.
Spongebob - Sweet Victory - Of course. Gotta honor the classics.
Weird Al - NOW That's What I Call Polka! - Another one of my personal favorite Weird Al polka mashups.
LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem - Would Bill be Team Party Rockers or Team Party Rock Is?
Cutting it off here because this playlist has over a hundred songs so far and I'm only at...57. How fun for me personally to stop there for the first part. Anyway, expect the next part in a bit.

Musical asks! 23, 24, 25?
Thank youu 🤗❤
x
23. What's a song you love from a musical you don't otherwise like?
I do have songs I love from musicals I'm indifferent about or haven't seen, and I do have songs I like well enough despite them being in shows I otherwise hate, but I don't think there is one I really like despite it being in a bad show...
oh wait. Oh wait. There is a movie musical. Maybe I don't love The Other Side from The Greatest Showman (enemy eternal), but it is catchy and the choreo is fine, and it has been an ear worm for me, so. That.
x
24. Which three cast recordings would you take with you to a deserted island?
Sigh. As you've said, they call Les Mis TAC "The Dream Cast in Concert" for a reason. Second, Operation Mincemeat (let's call it Original London Cast for manifesting reasons), since I can apparently shout along with it in a car for two years and it's still not dead to me despite it being rather short. Third, Hadestown: The Myth. The Musical. This is partly assuming I have no other music at all and I have to satisfy my folk needs. But also because a girl needs to cry.
x
25. What catches your attention in a musical and makes it interesting to you? Is there a subgenre of musicals you especially like?
Me looking at this question, then looking at my favourite musicals, and trying to find something they have in common... Well, musical as a genre is a good medium for tragedies, I think. I'm talking about hopeful songs getting tragic reprises, I'm talking about having the death song of a character as an ear worm as you watch them sing to their beloved, I'm talking about a powerful sense of catharsis at the end, I'm talking about that scene in Titanic the musical where Mr Andrews experiences a feeling too powerful for mere words, and then he drowns. You know. So maybe that answers the question of the kind of musical I usually like.
Things that catch my attention are characters, mostly, and to be honest I'm also a sucker for clever wordplay in lyrics. If you've ever heard a lyric and thought "they put that in just to sound quirky and clever", wrong, they put it there for me, and only me.
I also like it if there is a big song where a character talks to God and is like "what the fuck, man (gender neutral)".

WELCOME HOME AUS
Henlo Henlo!
I have a few Welcome Home Aus in mind, and 1 is in the making already! But i have a few here so i just have to blurt it out so i wont forget about them 😭
WH SHOWMAN AU:
• This au is basically Welcome Home mixed with my absolutely favorite show! The Greatest Showman! I will have to remake the plot, but the jist of the lore is there but i do have to add some or edit some.
WELCOME HOME DAYCARE (ANIMATRONIC AU) :
• Besically a FNAF take on Welcome Home! The crew will be animatronics of Welcome Home Daycare!
WH DIAMOND AU:
• Yes by the title of this au, Its a Steven Universe Welcome Home au! I will change some of the plot from the steven universe, i will base some of the lore from the show since it was my inspiration to this au.
WH DESSERT AU:
• Its just Basically like a desert version of the crew! Think of it like Cookie Run Kingdom! Its still the original WH, its just that they are all desserts!
WH CORRUPT/E̶̜̒̓̄͊̈́͘R̸̡̗͓̗̈́́̂̋̀̅̕R̶̺̳̙̀O̵̺̙̗̼̟̓̎̇͋̿́̚̕̕̚͜R̷̡̞͓͙͕̝͙̯̆̇̄͛͘̚̚͝AU: Forgotten Memories
• Ę̶̜͖͇̘̹̒̓̄͊̈́͘R̸̡̗͓̗̈́́̂̋̀̅̕R̶̺̳̙̀O̵̺̙̗̼̟̓̎̇͋̿́̚̕̕̚͜R̷̡̞͓͙͕̝͙̯̆̇̄͛͘̚̚͝....ʀᴇʟᴏᴀᴅɪɴɢ ɪɴꜰᴏʀᴍᴀᴛɪᴏɴ..
Weird..what happened there.. Oh well!
This au is a little different from the rest..While the others will have ocs of mine included, this one has an specific oc that will be very dear to me. Basically a little protion of RL me will be in my oc.
The original WH but with a little twist- WH is a puppet show, but what if someone came before them? Can the crew save them? Or will it slowly cosume all of them or will they be able to find them and solve the problem of the mysterious glitching area, their little community has.
WH BOOK OF LIFE AU:
• Basically the WH cast as he character in Book of life. I already have planned who wally would be.
Either Manolo or A Male Version of La Muerte 😭💕
(UPDATE: I made a few edits in some of the AU's, especially the titles so if you see some differences, that means I changed it :>)

The Disney Showman (Unexpected Musical) — PattyCake Productions music video
youtube
Nostalgia can be a powerful force. The Greatest Showman portrays P.T. Barnum as a dreamer who wanted to entertain people above all else. There is a very similar air to the general perception of Walt Disney. Both men were, of course, much more complicated than their public personas, but the parallels were too strong for the PattyCake guys to resist. Especially since both Tony and Layne had worked at Disney World, performed on Disney cruises, and collaborated on projects with the company at large. So combining the Showman music with a visual retrospective of Walt's life was a perfect fit.
Details:
title: Unexpected Musicals — The Disney Showman
performers: D.J. My favorite bits:
combining the Disney fanfare with instrumentation from "Rewrite the Stars"
young Walt sketching Oswald the rabbit, followed by adult Walt creating Mortimer Mickey Mouse
the newspaper headline noting that Disney's first studio failed at the start of "Come Alive"
those extremely perky Mouseketeers
Tony and Layne doing their best faux-Cockney accents for the chimney sweeps' vocals
showing footage from the actual parks
elder Walt coughing as he walks away, a somber sign of the lung cancer that took his life
returning to young Walt still dreaming of ♫ "the world I'm gonna make" ♫ that we've just seen

Trivia:
The actors playing young Walt Disney and Shirley Temple are siblings.
James is yet another of Tony's fellow alumni from the "Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue" show at Universal Studios, having played BJ himself for many years.
The subtle special effects makeup that transformed James into Walt was created by Andy Wright at Makeup and Creative Arts, and was applied by Rick Underwood.
This video was filmed on location at the MBS Equipment Company warehouse space in Orlando, using some of their lighting equipment. There is also additional footage from both Disneyland and Disney World.
PattyCake garnered some praise from several of their fellow former theme park cast members in the YouTube comments for both the accuracy of the behind-the-scenes imagery and the celebration of the Disney legacy.
As they did with their "La La Land" video, PattyCake highlighted their attention to detail with a series of "Double Take" posts on social media, comparing shots from the video with the iconic moments they had recreated.

As a bonus, the thumbnail for the video itself is a recreation of a photo of Disney that was also used as the cover art for PBS's episode of American Experience about him.

URL Song Tag Game
Thanks to being tagged by @seriallovertrait and @gamyrmaiden I get to bless you all with how eclectic my music taste really is. I'm going to tuck it all below the cut because my username is long.
Quick moment for all my beloved songs that start with s that won't be able to be mentioned 🕯️
Everyone who sees this is obviously tagged but I know not everyone is music mad. For some exact tags... @marcishaun, @sharona-sims, @daedriyth, @simslegacy5083, @aliengirl, @limeysims, @nigmos, @ethicaltreatmentofcowplants (feel free to shorten your username, or not, I'm not your boss), @eljeebee, @calicosimgirl, @mushbop. But EVERYONE is genuinely tagged because I'd put you all in if I could.
So, songs for the letters of my username below! Also including the lyrics I love because who am I if not someone who breaks the rules of tag games? Please don't feel like you have to do this level of detail, it's purely me making more work for myself.
EDIT: Omg and @matchalovertrait tagged me to but I missed it because I took so long doing this 🫠
C Curtains: Ed Sheeran
This one is my, I see the light at the end of my depression tunnel song. It came out just as my mental health was moving into a better place. Obviously I also love Ed Sheeran.
Can you pull the curtains, let me see the sunshine? I think I'm done with my hidin' place, and you found me anyway It's been forever, but I'm feelin' alright Tears dry and will leave no trace, and tomorrow's another day
H Heroes: David Bowie
I love David Bowie! This song is a classic and it always makes me happy.
I, I will be king And you, you will be queen Though nothing will drive them away We can be Heroes, just for one day
A All the King's Horses: Karmina
I am still obsessed with Reign. This song I actually heard and fell in love with before I saw it on the show though. It conveys such rich emotion. Seriously, if you only listen to one song from my post, make it this one. It makes me want to write every time I listen to it.
All the king's horses and all the king's men Couldn't put me back together again
There is a reason I'm still standing I never knew if I'd be landing And I will run fast, outlast Everyone that said no
N Never Enough: Loren Allred
I love musicals, though I'm not as obsessed as some. I really like the Greatest Showman and it has a bunch of great songs. This song always takes my breath away.
All the shine of a thousand spotlights All the stars we steal from the night sky Will never be enough Never be enough Towers of gold are still too little These hands could hold the world but it'll Never be enough Never be enough
G Gold Forever: The Wanted
My boyband phase was The Wanted rather than One Direction. I love Gold Forever, and hearing it gives me all the nostalgic high school feelings. I still can't believe Tom is dead.
Promise me, you'll stay the way you are Keep the fire alive and stay young at heart When the storm feels like it could blow you out Remember, you got me and I got you
'Cause we are butterflies, butterflies, we were meant to fly You and I, you and I, colors in the sky When the innocence is dead and gone These will be the times we look back on
I It Won't Be Long Now: In the Heights Original Motion Picture Cast
I love so many songs from this film, some days I will just listen to the album on loop for hours. This one is a favourite, along with Blackout and Champagne.
The neighborhood salon doesn't pay me what I wanna be making but I don't mind As I sweep the curb I can hear those turbo engines blazing a trail through the sky I look up and think about the years gone by But one day I'm walking to JFK and I'm gonna fly!
N Nothing Left to Lose: Jeremy Jordan and Eden Espinosa
Yes this song is from the Tangled animated TV series. I see no problems. These two are great singers and honestly I could just copy/paste all the song lyrics because it's great.
So I chose To lose my doubts and lose my chains Lose each weakness that remains Now that I have nothing left to lose Nothing left to lose
G Give Me Your Hand: The Ready Set
This is one that gets stuck in my head easily but I actually fell in love with it because the lyric video for it is singing the song in sign language! We love inclusion and accessibility here!
She said 'I love this song I've heard it before and it stole my heart I know every word' She's gonna dance all night night, Till it hurts Singing the best song ever, best song ever!
P Playground: High Dive Heart
I like a bunch of songs by High Dive Heart and was stoked this one could fit on the list! I love it because I'm a senimental sap at heart and the whole song is a nostalgic dream of what made our childhood before we grew up and had to tackle the real world.
That's why they call e'm the good ole days Taking on the world cause we weren't afraid Jumping off rooftops in our skates Cause we didn't know we could break If I knew then, what I know right now I would've stayed on the playground I left my heart in the lost and found I should've stayed on the playground
L Life On Mars: David Bowie
Another Bowie song? YES! When I play his legacy album and get to this one I often have to put it on single song repeat for a while.
Sailors fighting in the dance hall Oh man, look at those cavemen go It's the freakiest show Take a look at the lawman Beating up the wrong guy Oh man, wonder if he'll ever know He's in the best selling show Is there life on Mars?
U Unapologize: Carrie Underwood
I am a romantic so of course I'm going to love this song.
I unapologize I meant every word Won't take back the way I feel about you Can't unsay what you heard
'Cause you heard me right, and I won't try To fight 'em back or hide my feelings for you I unapologize
M Monster Under My Bed: Bebe Rexha
You know that song The Monster sung by Eminem and Rihanna? Well Bebe Rexha wrote it! I love her solo version, not to rain on the rap version obviously, but I love her early music.
In a world so black and white Out of place and out of my mind Woke up and I realized Imperfection is divine
B Babe: Taylor Swift
So I heard the Sugarland version featuring Taylor Swift, loved it, adored the music video! Then Red (Taylor's Version) came out and I learned she actually wrote it? I love it.
I'm here on the kitchen floor You call, but I won't hear it You said no one else We ain't getting through this one, babe I break down every time you call We're a wreck, you're the wrecking ball You said no one else This is the last time I'll never call you, babe
O On Melancholy Hill: Gorillaz
I heard this one first when playing Life is Strange 2 and I love it. The rhythm is soothing to my brain.
Where you can't get what you want But you can get me So let's set out to sea, love 'Cause you are my medicine When you're close to me
B Brave, Honest, Beautiful: Fifth Harmony ft Meghan Trainor
I was never obsessed with Fifth Harmony but during university I did have a rough time and there was a bunch of their singles I'd listen to on loop to lift my spirits. This was one.
You can dance like Beyoncé You can shake like Shakira 'Cause you're brave, yeah You're fearless and you're beautiful, you're beautiful
So whine like Rihanna Go and pose like Madonna 'Cause you're brave, yeah You're honest and you're beautiful, you're beautiful, girl

I did not know Jeremy Jordan originated a role in newsies, I just knew him as varian from tangled... huh, you learn new things everyday
He was the original Jack Kelly in the stage show and there is a proshot on Disney+ starring him that you can watch any time. My family personally watches it every Labor Day.
Also, if you’ve seen the movie The Greatest Showman, despite not having a role in the film he was vital to getting the film greenlit, a story you can watch him tell here and while he may not be P.T. Barnum, from the way you see his storytelling abilities kick in there, I personally think he’s the actual greatest showman.
Also, funny kind of, another thing he did is he was the original Clyde Barrow in Bonnie and Clyde on Broadway, and then in the past few years or so they decided they wanted to transfer B&C to the West End and so they did a test concert, kind of like with Death Note, and Jeremy came over to be their Clyde, but the original Bonnie couldn’t come (long ass story but she’s kind of blacklisted from theatre because she lied about getting vaccinated for Covid) so they had to recast the role and they cast Frances Mayli McCann to be the Bonnie to his Clyde - who then went on to be the original West End Misa, so at least in that universe, Light and Misa went down together to the end.

I saw the first ever preview of Great Gatsby on Broadway. Here are my (pretty negative) thoughts.
Before I begin, I am just writing this for fun. This is not serious, and it's all my own opinion. We're all entitled to our own. I go on tangents as well so know this is more than a review. If you'd like to read more reviews, I try to upload once a week. ALSO THERE ARE SPOILERS IN THIS REVIEW.
On Friday, March 29th, 2024 I went to see The Great Gatsby on Broadway. It was their first preview, first time ever on a Broadway stage with a paying audience. My friend and I went, bought tickets the moment they went on sale. We sat back orchestra, not to the wall but close. Despite it's hype...it was a tad underwhelming.
_________________________________________________
Let's discuss the Headliners.
The show is commercialized as "Featuring Jeremy Jordan and Eva Noblezada" which I understand is to rake in revenue necessary to keep the show running, but I hate when shows do that. I feel like it takes away from the work and talent of everyone else involved in the cast. Jeremy Jordan is a Broadway phenomenon, almost everyone knows his name. He is best known for his role as Jack Kelly in Newsies, but has since then gone on to do a ton of projects and concerts including the Greatest Showman's workshop, where he so famously discusses at a concert of his how he lost the role to Zac Efron. He's been in Little Shop Off-Broadway, which I had the pleasure of seeing him in and will definitely post a review of because it was a breathtaking performance from everyone involved but - I digress. My point is that everyone loves Jeremy Jordan. He is placed on this pedestal above everyone else, a renowned Broadway actor. He plays the leading man, Jay Gatsby, who has been in love with one Daisy Fay, now Daisy Buchanan, since they met years before when he was about to leave for war. Daisy is played by Eva Noblezada, a Broadway superstar best known for her role as Euridyce in Hadestown, or as superfans know her, as Kim in Miss Saigon. I had the pleasure of meeting both, Eva as she snuck out of a different stage door as the mob at the actual stage door was panic attack inducing, where she thanked us for coming and we chatted for a few. I met Jeremy after a Little Shop performance back in August, and he was one of the douchiest men I have ever met in my life.
And let me preface this all by saying that I cannot imagine how annoying it must be to feel like you have to be "on" all the time for people. Like you're an enigma people just want to look at, and all. I don't know a thing about showbiz. I do know, however, that it isn't too hard to be kind.
I cannot imagine how annoying it is to stage door all the time - to have so much privacy ripped away when you are as renowned as you are in the theater world - a world that so famously does not understand boundaries. But would it fucking KILL YOU to be the teensiest bit kind? Jordan threw my pen back at me after we met, barely signing my playbill. It looked like a chore to be out there, and there were only about 20 of us waiting at stage door that day. I assume, and this is coming from someone who knows next to nothing, that he doesn't HAVE to do stage door. If I'm wrong, ignore everything above. But if it's his choice, then don't fucking come out! I'd rather not meet someone if they're going to be rude than meet someone who makes me feel like it's annoying that I'm there.
All that being said, Jeremy's voice is no doubt superb. It's soft but passionate and I could listen to it for hours. He does, however, lack any wow factor when it comes to acting this role. He is able to reach in and become the character when he sings, but during speaking scenes I felt like I was watching a bad high schooler. Also, here's a game you can play if you go to see it. TAKE A FUCKING SHOT every time Jeremy Jordan says the term "Old Sport" in the show. You'll have alcohol poisoning by the end of it. I understand we wanted accuracy from the book and that that phrase has a lot of meaning for Gatsby's character but MAN the way Jordan says it made me want to swallow a pair of jorts or something.
Noblezada has a voice clearer than the seas in the Caribbean. It cuts like glass. She is an incredible performer, every note looks and sounds effortless. She did, in my opinion (and who the fuck am i, really) act Daisy much like she did Eurydice though. Her performance is lovely, per usual at the center of it all.
The letdowns.
Woof. First I'll start with Paul Whitty. Good fucking lord. What the hell??? How was he the choice for George Wilson. His voice wasn't as bad as someone else's who I'll discuss further down, but I mean. No one else? Really? Is no one searching in the casting calls that 200 people are in line for almost every week? His songs were lackluster and felt like an afterthought, space that needed filling. Second, I'm a huge fan of Eric Anderson, I saw him many times in the 394790173493 times I've gone to see Moulin Rouge on Broadway, and he was fantastic every time (per my review you can find on my page.) However, his performance as Meyer Wolfsheim was...boring to say the least. His character, granted, has very little stage time and only one big number, which opens Act II and while the choreo was very flashy, it wasn't anything like the Bad Romance x Toxic opening of Act II that Moulin Rouge has. Third, I think John Zdrojeski was the most confusing choice to play Tom Buchanan, Daisy's abusive, cheating husband. He's pretty nice to look at, sure. But his voice? Jesus Christmas they couldn't find ANYONE else?!?!!? Maybe it's because he had five singing lines total that I couldn't get a better feel of his voice, or maybe that choice was made on purpose because they knew Zdrojeski was gonna play him but his voice sucks so much. SO SO much. His vibrato sounded forced and the melody sounded off, it felt like they put him on stage just because he was a pretty good actor and had abs.
There were a few mishaps in terms of head pieces falling off - which I got the pleasure of hearing about from the costume people who sat behind me and discussed notes during intermission and many of the dresses looked quite baggy on the dancers, but otherwise it seemed pretty accurate.
The best parts.
My favorite, by far, was Samantha Pauly as Jordan Baker. She is the standout for me, capturing Jordan's essence perfectly. Spunky, doesn't give a fuck and a girl's girl. The costume choices for Jordan's character were done exquisitely as well, and Pauly's voice was show stopping. Noah J. Ricketts as Nick Carraway was another showstopper. Not only is he nice to look at, he's nice to listen to. His voice is smooth like butta, his acting is great and I loved the back and forth he and Pauly's characters had. The set was a wow factor for sure - if this is nominated for any Tony's (I'll be as surprised as Gatsby when Daisy turns him down if there aren't) the set should surely win. Created by Paul Tate dePoo III, the set glides on and off, the projections work seamlessly and overall I was in awe of the glitter and gold of it all. Platforms erupt from the floor in a nonchalant way, as if to say "we had all the money in the world for this show." The choreo, was also one of the best things to watch. Choreographed by the well-rounded and talented Dominique Kelley, the choreo captures the era of this show (NYC 1922) well. I loved her choice for a tap number as much as I enjoyed the acrobatic-esque moves she made for the stellar, electric ensemble. All toes were pointed, all legs were extended, and it's clear, or it translated to the audience, that that was a part of the show everyone was confident in.
Sara Chase, who plays Myrtle Wilson deserved so much more stage time. What a fucking voice. Her energy, her lack of empathy for anyone but herself, I mean shit. She was so good. They didn't do her justice, but then again I forgot the Wilson's were even a part of the book until I saw the show again. Two of the dresses she wore (one being a very impressive on stage quick change where a literal rolling clothing hanger like the ones in malls rolls in front of her and when its past her shes in an entirely new dress) looked very baggy and her character's wig was god awful, looking like it was plucked out of an amazon package 10 minutes before curtain. But she was impressive regardless.
The music was pretty entertaining, written by Jason Howland with lyrics by Nathan Tysen. The songs "New Money," "The Met" and Gatsby's ballad "Past is Catching Up to Me" were star songs and have been stuck in my head for days. The ending of Act I "My Green Light" which has been teased on all of GG's social media accounts was as good as it sounded. There is no doubt that Jordan and Noblezada will go down in history as two of the most impressive singers on Broadway.
If you have the chance to see it, I think you should. Not for more than, like $150 with the way ticket prices are but it's definitely worth the music, set and Samantha Pauly.
Best part though? Every seat was given a mini copy of the book. My seat, however, apparently had the only signed copy of the book in the theater. So, thats pretty fucking sick.

Mayhaps some thoughts on Valentine?
Tumblr media
Oh, dear valentine... so mysterious... and the weight of being the perfect, gentle showman is such a heavy burden to bear...
Val is fascinating to me, because even though theres so much we don't know about what he really wants, really feels, really thinks, because most of his screentime is on the sidelines in an obviously staged persona, theres a lot of interesting inferences we can make from what he says when he breaks character, doesnt break character, or expresses his (oft-ignored) agency, but, with so many details missing, I am forced to turn to thematic analysis and context clues to fill in the blanks. I say forced as though I dont love doing this shit lmao
Val's occasional awkward fumbling breaks with his presenter persona lead me to assume hes that flavor of theater kid thats sort of... reserved, passive, awkward, almost shy in their personal life until they're onstage, where they Come Alive before the crowd, but also, hes presented in his introductory episode as a man who 'walks directly into explosions just to see if he can survive them.' contradiction between the private and public self, risk and spectacle and, of course, performance are important things to consider when evaluating Val. He wants to put on a good show for the people, after all! Talented and radiant and powerful and good, Val is an instant hit with the audience- and Val puts his body on the line trying to 'save the day' in a very risky move, a shady deal with a shady being with shady terms. Keep in mind Crimson really hadnt done anything REAL bad at this point- a little theft, a little homewrecking, his greatest crime we saw was being kinda spooky, really.
We don't hear the terms of Val and Crimson's bet, their discussion of the terms entirely held through crimson's ability for psychic communication, but we do see the result. Valentine looked at the quiet, eldritch thing Crimson began as, and wagered his body as Crimson's prize. Crimson wins, a gentleman keeps his word, and the Captain Crimson era begins. It isn't long before theres reason to regret his choice, although the Grunk's death wasn't something Crimson exactly wanted to happen either. Captain Crimson, given the privilege of choosing who in the tie at the bottom of top 8 gets to move on to the next part of what was supposed to be a two part tournament, the Grunk is shortly after found dead. Val remains in Crimson's thrall for another several months, Team Crimson formed amid the hiatus's offscreen chaos.
I think a feeling of guilt in the situation hes avoiding does haunt him. He claims little memory of his time as Captain Crimson, but the Grunk certainly seems to blame him some, even saying that 'at least hes not dead this time,' when Val successfully defends his championship from the Grunk. And hes in good company! Culpable in the Grunk's Death Club: Crimson (oops!) Hamhel (catalyst for both his and his killer's presence at the tournament,) Val (unintentional accomplice to manslaughter) Larry, Iggy and Chartreuse (knowingly complicit for timeloop reasons!)
Which adds some layers to Val breaking from his professionalism and stage persona a bit in 23's intros to express Intense Concern with J0hn's puppeteering of a murderer and VERY POINTEDLY bringing up the Grunk's own murder charges, audibly upset by the Grunk explicitly taking pride in them, he's clearly pretty disturbed by it- although he never pushes too hard against the tournament's regular function, even when it would be pretty fair to. One must remember the P. Rool Arc- the tournament is not an unquestionable arbiter of good or fairness, the tournament's rules are not unbreakable impartial tenets of the universe but the personal, often petty, choices of a jesterly godking, a TURTLE in a CLOWNCAR, and so going along with them is, within their world, a choice that all the characters are making! Everyone in the cast is, for better or worse, somewhat complicit in the tournament's failings, at least as much as any one actor who willingly works under a questionable director or in a questionable industry, if that makes sense. Technically, Valentine's championship was won at Plum's expense. Valentine participated- alongside an assortment of other fighters, including Rights Sentience, a so-called sentinel of that which is good and right- in the group free-for-all to take P. Rool's win away from him, and happened to come out on top. Relevant information to recall on P. Rool Day.
And, also relevantly to 23, he's pretty disturbed by Quad too, as we see in his introduction in 17. I think Quad is critical to understanding what Val's got going on under the surface- of the clones, theyre pretty explicitly the most directly similar from base to clone, and ive said it before and ill say it again, the thing Ryan's said about Quad and Val thats stuck with me characterization-wise is that 'Val is like a rollercoaster, Quad is like skydiving.' Rollercoasters are a thrill, with ups and downs and twists and turns but a careful calculation for safe results along a planned path, placing an implicit trust in the engineers who designed it for you to enjoy, although the controls are left out of your hands, and so when something goes wrong all you can do is wait for it to be over and hope noone gets hurt. Skydiving is throwing yourself directly to the whims of the world and letting go for a very INTENSE and STRAIGHTFORWARD thrill, running on the often CAREFULLY CONFIRMED trust that your parachute will work and with direct, conscious, personal control over when it deploys. I think of how Val often rolls with the tournaments decisions despite his misgivings, often seemingly not even informed until DAY OF what he'll be dealing with, and I think of how Quad was part of the first forfeit in tournament history and on another occasion caught just a whiff of horseshit and marched right up to god and beat her ass. Quad is like Val without the tact, the nuance, the subterfuge, like Val if you intentionally distilled and intensified him to the point of parody, and in the process, boiled out all the subtleties and passivity.
The natural instinct to compare Crimson and Val's relationship during Val's possession and Quad and Order's is... I think not EXACTLY wrong, but I don't think it's one-to-one at all. If Quad is, thematically, like Val with all the subtleties and nuance (not to say quad is UNnuanced because of course he is, but like. yknow what i mean in this context) wrung out, then maybe the intensity and circumstances of the awfulness of Quad and Order's relationship is a much more black-and-white case, but the baseline dynamic was similar? Just. Greyer. More complicated. Less extreme. Another all-take and little-to-no-give relationship between a controlling person and someone only wanted and valued by them in the first place as a useful, disposable tool in the pursuit of their own desires, who was never really all that interested in them personally as anything more than that, because at the end of the day they always wanted something or someone else, until someone else gets rid of the taker, and the giver is left alone to reevaluate things in their absence. But i suppose we already knew that. Another difference of course being they were two people who happened to collide for a while by chance and made regrettable choices, while Quad was born and designed with the purpose of being used. (And, of course, got to overcome that.)
Considering other Crimson'd folks were very much able to dispel Crimson from their bodies when they didnt want him there anymore, Hamhel 'defecting' offscreen, Chessmaster casting it off with all the casualness of flexing muscle, when they had come to some kind of epiphany and wanted to better themselves, while Val needed to have it dragged out of him by force, and even, in a moment of weakness and spite in response to the humiliation of Dani's Rat Stunt may have even considered taking crimson BACK if jay's speculation about val's feelings after the exorcism in 11 holds weight... its... interesting. And while they're plenty professionally friendly, I do think theres potentially some... lasting resentment, between him and Dantoinette in the mix, too. She did not need to rub his face in losing to the rat, and that could just be a dani-typical weak-filter shit-talk moment. But he did not need to bring up the bear. and Val's usually more careful than that.
Val lost a bet. They were together for months. They had to have developed some kind of dynamic and rapport in that time. While he absolutely was a controlling asshole, even just by nature of How Possession Literally Works, there isnt much reason to assume crimson was uniquely cruel to Val in their relationship compared to his other partnerships, and most folks who were possessed for more than a day came out of that relationship rightfully hating his ass and not wanting to be around him but not like. Life-Wreckingly Transformed by Him or anything. He's not an abuser, hes not that kind of evil. hes your dickhead ex that brought out the worst in you, he's the sketchy mp3 downloader thats BEGGING for you to let him install viruses, he's the best employee at a scam company. Crimson is just as disgusted by people like Prism or the Doc as anybody else reasonable. He's just a selfish, negative, dirtbag asshole thats rebellious for the sake of it and pressures you into and gives you excuses to pursue bad ideas- both his and your own, and living vicariously through those he controls to escape his circumstances and get to be anybody but who and what he actually is for a while, and Val was perfect for that. He 'got what he needed' by 'being' him. Vibrant, beloved by the crowd and community, comfortable in front of the camera, seemingly so confident warm and happy despite everything, so in control of his own destiny, at least in theory. The heartless coveting that which he cannot have. Val reduced more than once to an idealized object on a pedestal. The perfect man, and a being that from certain perspectives might barely qualify as a person at all- he certainly didnt present himself as one to start with. Hell, hes still imitating Val just a bit trying to play presenter in his stead in Orange.
BUT. All that being said. Order isn't what Val chooses to compare his time with Crimson to, in a rare instance we see of him actually trying to talk about it. No. His choice of comparison is a different object of Val's disdain- Cupid. Heartbreak and Cupid.
Heartbreak and Cupid are friends. and Heartbreak does say he WANTS to find someone that meets his romantic standards- but Cupid begins to push through his boundaries, FORCING it, making this OVERWHELMING UNASKED FOR SPECTACLE out of his issues on live broadcast, and when he decides he DOESNT want to pursue it actively anymore, Cupid refuses to back down from trying, because he DID want it and Cupid doesnt want him to Give Up on what he wants, but the reality is Heartbreak just found some peace with being by himself and doesn't want it so bad anymore, but Cupid seemingly wont take him at his word that he's genuinely just changed his mind. Tempered expectations, mistaken for lost hope. And it pisses heartbreak off so much that at least when the wound's fresh he doesn't even want to look at the color pink.
Val made a bet. We didnt see the terms. Val, in contrast with his perfect gentlemanly persona, flirts with villainy from time to time- quite literally in the case of his exchange with Dr. Order at the start of 16 before Quad was made, sometimes less literally and more subtly complicit with the tournament's less than perfect ethics record, nobody's perfect, no exceptions, not even the perfect man is unflawed- but never truly falls from grace again after his time with Crimson, while using the same cunning and subterfuge the god of treachery employs in facing challenges and claiming advantages all the same. Tempered subversion, mistaken for submission to conformity. And Crimson's presence is enough to make Val just want to stay home.
Am i cooking or is this nothing? YOU decide!
