Turtles Have Hair In The Mario World
So something people don't realize is turtles are capable of growing hair. Now while one might think it's just what I've dubbed the Boss Shell Creepers that have hair, it's not just them. Bowser and Bowser Junior obviously have hair, and so too do the Koopalings not all of them do. Roy and Wendy like many turtles don't have hair. But what about the other species of turtles like Koopas? That is the claim that turtles as a whole can grow hair.
Well in Super Mario Odyssey when you knock off a Hammer or Fire Brother's headgear you get to see that they have hair.
The Common Koopa also can grow hair as seen in Koopley and Kuzzle. Also, the reason I call them the Common Koopa is because of the following. Koopa Troopas are members of Bowser's army, and not all Koopas of this species let alone in general work for Bowser. Meanwhile simply calling them Koopas can make things confusing when talks about different Koopa species. With all that and the fact this species of Koopas is so common I've dubbed them the Common Koopa.
Anyways back on track. Lakitus are another species of turtles that have hair, and it's pretty common. In fact other members of the species like Lakilester have more obvious hair. I'd also note Morton's hair is like that of a Lakitu.
Now finally to mention the OVA, while non canon it this has many useful parallels to the games. For example, several Koopa Troopas in this animation can be seen having hair. This could indicate from the start all Koopas from the start have had the ability to grow hair.

Have you ever seen the old anime movie “The great mission to rescue princess peach”? Luigi’s in that movie too, though it was made so long ago that he has a different, more Wario-esque personality. What do you think of him?
I have! I enjoyed it a whole lot! And though the Luigi in that film was pretty different than the modern version of Luigi, I'm still quite fond of the character. Outside of his interest in money, I don't really see him as Wario-esque. Wario's greed comes strictly from a place of selfishness, while Luigi's greed strikes me more as... well... "worldly" is as close an adjective as I can come up with.
Tumblr media
The interesting thing about TGMTRPP Luigi is he lacks the "shyness" so often attributed to modern Luigi, and doesn't exhibit much anxiety outside of situations of immediate danger. This version of Luigi is outspoken, direct, sensible, and grounded, and cares a lot about being prepared and getting properly compensated. He's the one telling Mario to go to sleep when he stays up too late playing videogames, trying to bring him tea to help ease him into a bedtime routine. He's the one who runs the storefront and manages customer relations. He's the one who actually thinks to pack supplies when Mario races out the door. When they start getting hungry he's the one who wanders off to forage for mushrooms, and when they're trapped and Mario starts letting hopelessness and fantasy get the best of him, Luigi is the one who keeps his head enough to dig a tunnel out (once he stops hyperfixating on the gold of course).

While modern Luigi joins his brother out of admiration and a desire to follow in his footsteps, TGMTRPP Luigi seems to follow him around because he's thinking "if I don't help out he's going to get ripped off at best and killed at worst," despite the fact that he himself ends up in trouble just as much as Mario. He's more blind to his own flaws and self-interested than modern Luigi, but he's still a good brother and a decent person. After all, the sage described both of The Mario Bros as "kindhearted, but also money-seeking."

Mario just so happened to have known Princess Peach long enough to develop a crush that usurped his desire for wealth. Luigi, on the other hand, got no such opportunity.

Mario And Luigi Are Twins Part 1
Something I've come to learn is a lot of people don't know Mario and Luigi are twins, and that when I bring it up to them they are surprised. So I decided to make this post talking about it.
So in the games since Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island it's established Mario and Luigi are twins, as seen in the intro. It even mentions they have a twin bond that let's them know where each other are. This also includes page 3 of the manual. "In his bill, he supports a pair of twins." "The bond between the twins informs each of them where the other is."
In Super Mario Run in the bio for Luigi it mentions he's Mario's twin brother. "Mario's twin brother is shy and easily scared but that won't keep him from jumping a little higher!"
Finally in one to information tidbits that can be seen when starting up a level in Super Mario Bros. Wonder, it mentions Luigi is Mario's taller slightly younger twin. "While they may be twin brothers, Luigi is taller and slightly younger than Mario."
Now here's an interesting detail from the OVA. While it's not canon the OVA does parallel the games and has concepts that would be later introduced in the games. Keep in mind this animation came out a whole year after the Super Mario Bros. So yeah, Mario and Luigi are twins.
