Birdy's Alastor

Y/n Altruist's presence seemed to radiate even in death. As she passed through the pearly gates of heaven, a soft, ethereal glow surrounded her, drawing others to her just as she had in life. Over time, she became known as the angel whose voice soared like a canary's, captivating all who heard her. Her weekly concerts became a much-anticipated event, a beacon of joy in the heavenly realm.

When Y/n was allowed to observe her loved ones, she was unprepared for the sight that greeted her. She saw her mother-in-law in a graveyard, cradling a tiny baby—her baby, Eudora. But it was the sight of the headstone that caught her breath.

However, she started to choke on her breath when she saw what was on the headstone.

Why wasn’t he here with her? 

When she asked her frantic questions, the truth almost made her faint.

Her Alastor rubbed her feet after a long shift and always had a cup of tea ready when she got home. 

Her Alastor made cringy radio jokes first thing in the morning and then apologized with breakfast. 

Her Alastor made sure she was happy and healthy during her pregnancy. 

Her Alastor couldn’t wait to father his child. 

This was the world’s Alastor.

Y/n’s Alastor was real. 

She needed to see him.

Hazbin Hotel is ironic but okay.

Y/n thought the idea in itself was good. Sure, it could use more workshopping and an overall steady plan of how they were going to do this, but other than that, it was great. 

As Y/n grew deeper into her thoughts about the hotel logistics, she didn’t realize the commotion happening in front of her. 

“Gotta say I can’t wait to-”

“Adam!”

“-come down and exterminate you!”

What?

Exterminate?

Could her husband be exterminated?

That wouldn’t do.

During her time in heaven, Y/n grew to be loved by many. That includes the higher angels. Sara’s Bosses. Considering how even Emily didn’t know of the extermination, Y/n had a slight hunch that the higher-ups didn’t know about it either. So, after her most recent  concert, she asked for an audience with the seven virtues. 

Due to their busy schedules they weren’t able to see her until a month later.

They were NOT happy. Sinners were never mean to suffer like that, they were meant to repeant. That’s why the hotel was so important. Turns out no one had even told them it existed. 

With the events of the most recent extermination and Adam’s death, the seven virtues were preparing to put Sara on trial as well as Lute when somthing exstrodinary happened. 

A sinner was redeemed!

The hotel worked!!

Since Y/n was the one who brought light to the subject, the seven virtues asked that she be the one to check on the progress of the hotel from now on.

She gladly accepted.

PROFESSOR NEMO THEODORE INKLING REDESIGN 🐙🌊📚

Design Elements :

Straight, but soft features

Skintone less vibrant, more gray

Look the most uncanny (or at least I tried)

Hair isn't actually hair --- it's long, fleshy tentacles (8 of them)

^ Tentacles and pink patch in brow can change colors to camouflage and/or show strong emotions (face turns red when angry, blue when sad, etc)

Eyes meant to appear colorless

Very squishable, soft skin

Some Personal Lore & Headcanons ! :

Used to live in the Mariana Trench, but moved to Sea Mound to have better access to the land, where he went to school and such.

He has two rows of teeth, one row of frontal white shark-esque teeth, and a row of sharp black teeth closer to his throat. Meant to look like the beak of an octopus (irl dumbo octopuses don't have beaks or squirt ink, but I do it for the rule of cool).

Can glow (again, irl dumbos can't do that, but it's for the cool), and similarly to his cousin, the colossal squid, he has a glowing ring of dots around his eyes.

He has so many siblings that he's lost count (irl dumbos can lay up to 200,000 eggs at one time)

Being a shifter from so deep in the sea (which is a rarity in my AU universe), he's prized by Shifter Hunters ( a concept developed with the help of one super dope @mildy-vibing ). One time in his youth (way before the Octonauts), he was captured by Hunters but was able to escape, but he now has a fear of going on land (where he was caught). He will go on land if he feels safe enough and/or has to, but prefers to with company, or just not at all. None of the Octonauts know about this, or much of his past at all, only Min. (Who I see as both his best friend and lover)

Floyd's Nickname Analysis

We all know that they can be correlated to how they look or act, but what if they were also actions or personality traits that each person has?

Riddle- "goldfish" or "kingyo"

He's red (Trigger for Floyd). He feels bad that Riddle is trapped in a "fishbowl" and hopes for him to explore the ocean. Can get violent, unlike what he seems (goldfish eat other fish; they can be at the top of the food chain depending on what fish you consider)

Ace- "crab" or "kani"

He's spiky and red (hair and personality-wise). Eels eat them; they are great prey for them (like in the 3rd arc, with the contracts)

Deuce- "mackerel" or "saba"

Mackerels are called "blue-backed fish", which spoil easily (In Japanese it can be translated to "Fast legs". Mixed with his track/field club). In France, I think, April Fools can be called April Fish day. Mackerels can be caught a lot in April. He is kind of... Stupid (Fool)

Cater- "snapper" or "hanadai" (This is from the wiki, which is correct, but I'll explain why I can't translate this correctly)

I can't translate his name because there isn't an actual fish; there are tons of fish that are called hanadai (just to name a few; akaobihanadai, sujihanadai, nagahanadai), kind of like a sub-family (different personalities). He is the only one so far who has a more vague nickname.The ones I think about have a tall nose, which reminds me of Pinocchio, whose nose gets taller the more they lie. They are pretty though.

Some of them are called “sea goldies” (a clue about how he could have been ex-dorm leader)

They eat shrimp... Maybe one day he'll hurt us

Trey- "sea turtle" or "umi kame"

They're smart, and they can also go on land (Secret?). He's the father of Hearts, and turtles and Disney remind me of a certain sea turtle in the Nemo series. And I think turtles are smart (glasses maybe?)

Leona- "Todo" or "Sea Lion"

As it's called, he is a lion. Sea lions can go on land... I wonder if he knows something outside of the ocean (Twisted Wonderland)..? Reminds me of Grim in a way.

Ruggie- "sharksucker" or "kobanzame"

He's always with Leona, like them with sharks. They eat scraps, and look out for a chance to strike, like for food.

Jack- "sea urchin" or "uni"

He's spikey with his hair. He's different than he appears; Sea urchins look inedible, but they are rich and creamy. I mean rich as with knowledge and mild as in personality in his case. And he is from the north, where I think good sea urchins are harvested. I wonder if the orange has anything to do with his dorm color. I can't say this for sure, but rich as in money.

Jamil- "sea snake" or "umihebi"

He's a snake. And like one, he is pretty, but with poison. I wonder if Floyd knows about the snakes' hint in the mirror. Anyways, I think Floyd thinks Jamil is similar to Jade (Sea snakes can be mistaken for eels sometimes)

Kalim- "Sea Otter" or "Rakko"

I wonder if his hair was brown, and not white... They are gourmets and can't eat without their favorite rock (Jamil). And he is hunted down because he is rich... (Sea otters were hunted down for their pellets). The turban reminds me of the seaweed they wrap around.

Epel- "guppy"

Not good with bettas, and loose to them. They are sensitive with temperature; Epel get heated up sometimes and is usually cool (faking his personality)

Vil: "Betta"

They get tired after flaring too much (overblot; with the issue with Neige). Really pretty, and aggressive. Not good with mirrors because of this (Mira with Vil)

Rook: "black-tailed gull" or "umineko"

He's in the sky, compared to the ocean. They can get wild and fast when they want. He's also a hunter (they hunt fish). He also has cat eyes. (they are literally called sea cats in japanese)

Idia- "firefly squid" or "hotaruika"

They glow like his hair. That's all I can say as for now

Ortho- "sea angel" or "clione"

He is an angle, but they can change rapidly with their looks to be quite... terrifying.

Malleus- "Nudibranch" or "Umiushi"

He's kind of cute with his personality, actually, he's more fluffy than cute though. They have something that looks like 2 horns.

Lilia- "flapjack octopus" or "mendako"

Like Azul, he is strong, unlike his looks. His hair reminds me of a flapjack octopus.

Silver:"jellyfish" or "kurage"

They're usually kind of white. They can hurt a lot when they attack. Unlike the people in his dorm, he is human so his life expectancy is short compared to them.

Sebek- "crocodile" or "wani"

Probably a reference to Sobek, the Egyptian god. He does remind us of a crocodile/alligator; he eats a lot, his phase in battle, etc.

The ones he adds -kun to (Cater, Jamil, Rook, Sam, and Trey) are a bit... troublesome in some way. I think Floyd sees Twisted Wonderland as the Ocean if you couldn't tell, so if they can go on land, they either know something or correlated in some way to MC/the lands beyond it.

Chapter 2 - Scorched Face

The sound of waves rolling into the rocks of the beach steadily grew louder as the morning’s wind grew. A forceful gust of the wind made its way through the doorway of croaks house, and stirred the scroll now laying on the floor. The scrapping sound of the paper brought Croak back to the present, he had been adrift in his daydreams.

He picked up the noisy scroll and brought it back to where it belonged on his bookshelf. Croak noticed that he had gone stiff from sitting for so long, and stretched out his limbs one by one, and shook himself to shake away his fatigue. He needed his full attention to be able to capture the little squids. They always seemed to guess his next move before he’d even made it, zipping away into a crevice he couldn’t reach his talons into, or disappearing behind some corals, never to be seen again.

Shaking his head, he quickly left his house and took off, knowing that he would continue to procrastinate or get caught up in his daydreams again if he didn’t leave straightaway. The sun was hovering just above the horizon, making the sky glow red-hot. The clouds hanging in the air were a deep orange. He always loved the peaceful morning skies.

Croak flew above the water, which now had some sizable waves, their white caps tumbling over and disappearing under the water only to rise again. He headed for a large coral garden that was near a small island just a few kilometres south of his home. The squids could always be found at the shallow reef, feeding off the other small fish and critters who lived there.

In the distance he spotted a murky green blob. Looks like Barb coming back from some early morning fishing. Barb was his nearest neighbour who often went fishing before the sun rose, so that she could spend the rest of the day sunning herself on the dark rocks of the shoreline. She was a sweet dragon, getting up there in age, who often invited Croak over for dinners. When he had first settled on the island, she’d taught him how to keep pests out of his seaweed garden.

As they got closer to each other she flashed her scales in greeting. “Good day for fishing, the cuttlefish were especially active.” Her bioluminescent scales glowed a bright green.

“Looks like you got quite the haul!” Croak flashed back as they passed each other. She was carrying a net bursting with colourful flopping fish in her brown talons.

Like many SeaWings who lived outside the Palace, Barb had brown scales speckling along her body and gathering on her arms and feet like muddy boots. SeaWings who lived in the Sea Palace were often bright shades of greens and blues, with the occasional deep indigo, while farmers and hunters living near the border with the Mud Kingdom tended to be darker, and less vibrant than their wealthier neighbours. Croak himself was almost completely covered in brown scales, with nearly no blue scales on his body, except for his bioluminescent scales, which were a deep blue. Many royal SeaWings even held the belief that at one point villages near the border had hybridized with MudWings.

Whether he or Barb had any distant MudWing relatives had never actually been proven, and Croak believed it was simply genetics at play. After all, he had never heard of a farmer marrying into the Royal SeaWing family.

Croak twisted his head back to watch as Barb plunged her net into the water, helping keep the fish alive on the journey back to her home. He was about halfway to the reef now, and decided to swim the rest of the way, avoiding scaring off the squid with a loud splash. The cold water pressed around him, chasing away the very last of his morning weariness.

The water here was much deeper, the bottom of the ocean covered in dead corals and large bumpy stones. Swimming along the bottom, he pushed himself off of the large stones that rose up off the seafloor. Just as he was about to push himself off of the next rock, he saw a familiar shape darting around in the corner of his vision. He grabbed hold of the rock, stopping his momentum, and turned to properly identify the squid.

I’ve never spotted one this far from the reef before.The cuttlefish was darting to a black rock and back. Barb did say they were extra active today.

He slowly wriggled through the water to get closer. The easiest way to catch the slimy creatures was to sneak up close to them, and flare all of his bioluminescent scales at once in a blinding flash, stunning the squid long enough for him to grab it. He was nearly upon the squid now. Come on, just a bit closer. He moved as slowly as his muscles would allow him. When the squid was nearly in talon-length he shot forward, flinging his wings open, and flashed his scales to life.

The squid flinched, and Croak’s mouth opened in an inaudible scream, bubbles flying from his mouth, as the illuminated face of a charred-black SeaWing stared back at him.

Croak sat trembling on a sandy beach. He felt hot and cold at the same time. The moments after discovering the corpse and now a total blur. Barb sat beside him, rubbing small circles in his back, trying to calm herself just as much as she was trying to calm Croak. Two soldiers blatantly argued further down the beach, where the body had been dragged to shore. They had tried to question him, but he just stared numbly at his talons, pressing them in and out of the soft sand. He couldn’t bring himself to lift his head, scared to see the dragon’s face again, petrified forever in a lifeless scream.

Barb’s hand stiffened on his back, and she let out a small gasp. Croak managed to tare his gaze from his talons, to glance up and see what had caused Barb’s reaction. His eyes widened as he saw a group of deep blue and green SeaWings rushing to the Island. The huge blue dragon at the head of the group was Queen Coral, unmistakable with her strands of pearls gleaming in the sunlight.

She landed on the beach clumsily, and ran towards the body, dropping down and wrapping her arms around the charred corpse. She let out a scream as she looked at his face, “CERULEAN!”

Croak felt the blood drain from his body, and Barb let out another gasp. Cerulean? The SeaWing Prince?!

im back! time for pt 4! today we will discuss piglins, aquatics and enders!

(camel here. it seems i forgot the piglin bosses from minecraft legends. i forgot to add them to the boss/mini boss category. sry bout that!)

the piglins are.... a weird bunch. we wont talk about Sus scrofa domesticus (average pigs), we will talk abt Sus scrofa carnivora (the scientific name i gave to the piglin/hoglins). being able walk on two feet, intelligent and have a love of gold, the piglins are a iconic bunch. reminiscent of orcs from modern fantasy, they carry weapons made of cold and are deadly in a group. lets take a look.

Dream is the best glow squid hunter in the realm, known far and wide for his skill. When a strange man named George shows up on his doorstep with a lucrative offer and the promise of adventure, Dream doesn't ask too many questions. He never suspects that George might not be exactly who--or what--he seems, or that the adventure he joins in on might actually be a trap.

It turns out, the glow squids have finally come for their revenge.

Alrighty, so... my thoughts on Khione.

I still think she only really makes sense if her power comes from all the power Frost absorbed both in order to kill fake!Ronnie and from him when she did kill him. All that power was too much for her and it killed her but it had to go somewhere, so it did. Caitlin. And when Caitlin's ill advised Frost resurrection scheme went sideways, that power manifested in her body to create Khione.

So when Khione 'ascended' (still disappointed that she didn't briefly look like a glowing squid like Daniel in SG-1, but that doesn't stop me from saying she's besties with Oma now and definitely thinks Oma leaving Daniel naked in random locals - twice - is hilarious), it does make sense that she was able to restore the body she'd been wearing to it's original state and wake Caitlin's consciousness back up. After all, Caitlin's consciousness had only been suppressed - she'd been dead in the sense that she'd never wake up again so long as Khione was living in that body since they weren't time sharing like with Frost.

But I don't really feel like Khione was actually 'essential' to the plot. They never explain where her powers come from, so my theory about her powers coming from an evil cosmic entity and being remade into something good through her is... just a theory. Even if it is the only explanation that makes anything remotely approaching sense. *side-eying the show's in-universe, desperate retcon of Thomas Snow's experiments*

With my theory, we could also assume that Caitlin might have ended up dying anyway if that power had started leaching into her while she remained a regular human. That the power instead took advantage of Caitlin's crystal coffin tech to transform her body into a more suitable vessel - hence why Khione wasn't human when Chester checked her DNA - and that Khione's existence was necessary to save Caitlin's life in the long run.

Without my theory... we have Thomas Snow accidentally turned himself and his daughter into random power/personality generators that just happened to both cause ice powers the first time around and made a literal goddess out of nothing the second time the dice was rolled with Caitlin. Whoops?

Beyond the question of how Khione came into existence and whether she was necessary for Caitlin's survival... honestly, Khione doesn't really do a whole lot for the plot. She saves Mark Blaine twice when him dying would be the only instance of redemption equals death that would actually be satisfying on this show. (Admittedly the second time she saved him from a death she first caused, which she caused with a hilarious amount of ease while the N!SF is going PANIC!!!) And since the N!SF was only mining the 2023 team for power, her fight with the possessed Mark Blaine really didn't matter in the long run because even when she 'won' the N!SF still won too.

Before that, her first real 'usefulness' in a life or death plot was when Ramsey was doing his zombie invasion redux and she freed Dig from his control and froze everyone else. But... with Oliver's Specter powers being used to cleanse Ramsey's zombie goo from the multiverse before it could spread, they could have just as easily had a first demonstration of that ability by having Oliver cleanse Team Flash + Dig, or at least just Dig, while he and Barry escaped from STAR Labs.

Her curb-stomping of Zolomon in the final episode was kind of fun, but would have been more satisfying if she'd actually been Caitlin. Even Frost shattering the Black Flash was more satisfying because it was at least Caitlin's PTSD from Hunter kidnapping her that triggered Frost's re-awakening in the first place. Khione really had no connection to the events with Zoom and neither did Blaine, who was just kinda standing there thinking everyone wants to see him shirtless.

And Khione sends Barry to the N!SF, but there's no reason he couldn't have found a way there without her. Focused on, say, how much he loves Eddie and doesn't want to lose him again... (look, he and Iris just want to keep Eddie bundled up in blankets in their loft for the rest of forever, okay? They want to keep him warm, safe, hugged, and snuggled in their bed. And as an extra pair of hands to deal with a baby, you need all the hands you can get with a baby.)

Khione herself has a very bland personality. She's cute and I did enjoy seeing her grow, even if the most important of her power growth happened off screen. But there was a lot of tell-don't-show going on with her and in a tv-show... you want to have more showing than telling when it comes to character growth. Most of Khione's powers we actually saw were temperature and ice based. The only exceptions was her inexplicable healing kiss for Mark, being able to tell Iris was pregnant, and sensing the changing of the seasons - which a weather broadcast could have told her, so that last one is kind of a stretch. So while it isn't surprising that a plant obsessed girl with goddess powers can 'heal' people by giving them temporary plant photosynthesis... it does come out of left field. Everything the does in the four part finale came with no real build up, to be honest.

And while her powers clearly developed, Khione's personality doesn't really grow much by comparison. She's still very much the naive, newly-born personality at the end of the season that she was at the start. She did learn to be passive aggressive. I'll give her that much. But in comparison? We've seen Ralph grow from a jerkass who covered his insecurities with misogyny into someone not afraid of being vulnerable, who loved his friends, and wanted nothing more than to support those friends in whatever way he can over the course of a season. We've seen Frost develop from someone who used other people's fear of her to keep them at bay turn into someone who desperately wanted to be loved, not feared. We've watched characters process grief and how it affected them as they dealt with it in healthy and unhealthy ways alike. The ninth season was only half a season long, compared to the lengths of previous seasons, so they didn't have long to develop Khione but beyond wanting to be seen for herself and not as Frost or Caitlin... we honestly didn't get much development from her.

Danielle has done understated characters before - Caitlin has always been tightly controlled, but still amazingly expressive nonetheless - so i don't think it was her performance that failed with me where Khione was concerned. I think that she just... wasn't really given a lot to work with.

Now as to what I wish we'd gotten in place of Khione? More Caitlin. Caitlin dealing with her grief over Frost only to slowly realize she has frost powers of her own. Hoping it means Frost is back within her mind, only to realize she's not and having to really accept her sister's death. Caitlin's healing and ice powers protecting her from Bloodwork and seeing that as Frost's final gift to her. Accepting that Frost would always be a part of Caitlin, even though her sister's dead. Caitlin using those powers to defeat Hunter herself, to finally pay him back for the horrible trauma he put her through.

Things being rocky between Caitlin and Barry at first until they both apologize and Caitlin breaks down crying with him over having Frost's powers but not Frost. She doesn't want the powers. She wants her sister.

We've seen Caitlin - not Frost - use those powers before. So it makes sense she's still have those powers but had psychologically blocked herself from using them previously because, to her, they were Frost's powers. Not really Caitlin's. And her grief, her need to have something of Frost's stay with her, having broken that psychological block. Seeing Caitlin learn to love and enjoy the powers that Frost loved so much...

That would have been a lot more satisfying to see in the final season of the Flash. A much better plotline for an OG member of the team than 'comatose while a baby nature goddess borrows her body for a year'. And a much better tribute to Frost's death than making it look like her sacrifice to save Caitlin was for nothing for twelve episodes.
