Why you should watch 乘风破浪 and 披荆斩棘 to learn Chinese
What are these shows?
Both 披荆斩棘 and 乘风破浪 follow the same basic format: 30+ celebrity contestants, mostly actors and singers ages 30+, form teams and compete in singing and dancing over several rounds. Viewers vote on their favorite performances and contestants, and 1-3 contestants are eliminated each round. The top contestants form a temporary "group" and appear on a follow-up reality show.
youtube
Why you should watch
1. Exposure to different accents
Contestants come from all over the Chinese-speaking world: Dongbei, Sichuan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and even Malaysia. I can personally say that watching these shows has vastly improved my ability to understand the Hong Kong Mandarin accent.
2. Pop culture knowledge
Because the contestants are celebrities, you'll be introduced to dozens of famous actors, singers, etc. Also, you'll hear the many iconic songs that they cover. I've impressed several native speakers with my with knowledge of pop culture and music.
youtube
3. Branch out to new media
These shows serve as a gateway to Chinese music, movies, and TV. if you really like the contestants who are actors, you can check out their shows and movies. If you enjoy a certain song or like a contestant who's a singer, you can explore more music.
4. Casual and formal registers
You’ll get to hear casual, unscripted speech while watching the behind-the-scenes and rehearsal clips. But you’ll also get to hear more formal speech when they’re announcing rules and also from the MC who hosts the actual live performances.
youtube
5. Incredible talent
Also, you should watch for the awesome performances and general fun. I love seeing the contestants' friendships, and I’m also obsessed with the amazing sets. There are some incredibly talented performers on these shows, and I love getting to see them shine.
Where to watch
All seasons are free to watch on YouTube! Sometimes clips may be muted or missing, probably due to YouTube's restrictions. But the vast, vast majority is available, and when a clip is missing, you can usually do a separate search and find it. I also pay for a Mango TV subscription, which is $1.99 USD/month.

To help you get started, below is a YouTube playlist of my some of my favorite performances (5 per season, except for the most recent season of each). Cause why not! Also, below the cut I'll put more details along with direct links to my favorite performances.
And if you're a fellow fan emotionally preparing for the 披荆斩棘4 finale 🥲, feel free to message me and commiserate!

Sisters Who Make Waves
Chinese title: 乘风破浪的姐姐 (S1-2) / 乘风破浪 (S3) / 乘风 (S4-5) English title: Sisters Who Make Waves (S1-3) / Ride the Wind (S4-5) *I call it Sisters for short
This series is the original, having started in 2020. The focus was on female empowerment, particularly of women 30+. A lot of the celebrities had slowed down in their careers, and the show served as their reintroduction to audiences. While female empowerment is still a theme today, I do feel it has lessened in prominence.
Season 1
The original, iconic season. You can tell they had a limited budget and not a ton of space, but it doesn't detract at all thanks to the incredible talent and energy of the contestants. And they had no idea what a phenomenon the show was going to be! Many of my most rewatched performances come from the season.
得不到的爱情
大碗宽面
相爱后动物感伤
FLOW
新物种
youtube
Season 2
This season has a special place in my heart as the first one I watched! It's the only one I've seen twice (when it originally aired and rewatched with friends). Compared to season 1, you can definitely tell they had a bigger budget and started to refine the format. Also, some of my all-time favorite contestants are from this season.
现在不跳舞要干嘛
归零
快乐宝贝
给自己的歌
我
youtube
Season 3
This season was the first with the show's "modern" and fully-developed format, which remains to this day. For example, they started to include more complex sets and recruited more diverse contestants, such as dancers, an athlete, etc. Also, my favorite performance of the entire series, 雾里, is from this season.
雾里
梦中人
山海
孤独颂歌
有吗炒面
youtube
Season 4
This season was the first time I felt there wasn’t improvement over the previous season. I think the stage design took a step backward, and I didn't love the international focus. It was hard to identify my favorite performances because I didn't feel strongly about many. That being said, my friends and I still enjoyed this season.
从头
千里万里
下个,路口,见
归途有风
I'm Not Yours
youtube
Season 5
Though this season has already ended, I'm not done yet. I watch with friends, so we move at a slower pace. So far, it seems largely in line with season 4. I'll update this post after we finish.
Call Me By Fire
Chinese title: 披荆斩棘的哥哥 (S1) / 披荆斩棘 (S2-3) English title: Call Me By Fire *I call it Brothers as a nickname
A show about female empowerment gets a male spin off? Out of skepticism, I did not plan to check out this show when it premiered in 2021 (after Sisters S2). But at some point I changed my mind, mostly because I had to run out of other shows. Little did I know I would arguably become a more devoted fan of this show than the original!
Season 1
This season had too many iconic performances to count, and in particular, the Hong Kong contestants really took the world by storm. Due to scandals, they edited out 2 contestants (Huo Zun and Li Yundi), which admittedly does make for an awkward viewing experience at times, but you should totally watch anyway.
凄美地
MMA
飞云之下
达拉崩吧
如果还有明天
youtube
Season 2
Looking back, season 2 did not have as many stand out performances as season 1, but it does boast my favorite performances of the entire series, 新地球. It also features a fantastic group of contestants, probably my favorite overall cohort of the show.
新地球
袖手旁观
私人生活
理想
凤毛麟角
youtube
Season 3
This was the first season to air after I started watching, though I didn't watch it live because I was still on season 2. While it's probably impossible to top the iconic status of season 1, I think season 3 was an improvement over season 2 in terms of memorable performances. We also got the iconic 0713 (2007快乐男声全国13强) contestants.
行走的鱼
爱人错过
Joker
走麦田
有没有一首歌会让你想起我
youtube
Season 4
This season is sadly coming to an end, although I have not started the finale yet. I'll start this weekend and update this post in the future after I've had some time to gather my thoughts.
Now I have to go finish 披荆斩棘4 episode 11 so I can watch the finale. Bye!!!
#my watchlist#deciding what to include was soooo hard I was in pain#also sadly some really good ones are not available on youtube prob cause of the usage rights#if just 1 person checks out these shows it will be worth the inexcusable amount of time I invested in this post#to contextualize my obsession know that I have painstakingly translated and subtitled 20+ songs from Sisters#just so my friends who don’t know chinese could enjoy them#I think amber liu and xue zhiqian must have the same stylist cause so many of her outfits look like they could be his lol#sisters who make waves#ride the wind#乘风破浪的姐姐#乘风破浪#乘风#chengfengpolang#call me by fire#披荆斩棘的哥哥#披荆斩棘#pijingzhanji#cvariety#chinese variety show

Training Season| Häkkinen!driver!reader
A/N: so this has being in my drafts since January, after Hamilton announcement, the calendar is a little off because I used the 2023 calendar when writing, but I would like to point out that I wrote that Lando has three podiums with Charles and Max and finishes second in the Championship. Also I had big hopes for Williams this year, I know, but hope is a fools gold so... sue me. This is kind of a super rookie scenario where she can be a beddie even in a Williams.
ships: I am not sure yet... It can either be Landoxreader or Charlesxreader, I was unsure even when writing...
Y/n Häkkinen was signed by Williams for the 24’ season, taking the seat previously owned by Sergeant. The young Monegasque driver was the 2023 F2 champion and 2022 F3 champion, the daughter of double-World Champion, Mika Häkkinen, her seat at the team came backed by some big sponsors—sponsors that had supported her career since the early days.
She’s also the first woman on the grid since Giovanna Amati in the 90’s, which in itself brings a lot of attention to the team.
Williams is the gateway for her to prove herself to the world.
The door that no other team would have opened for an untested female rookie.
Their 2024 car is ok-ish, good, but not really great. Yet, it does not stop her from overtaking several drivers with better cars and far more years on the grid than her.
She bulldozes her way on each track from the get-go, driving in a level far above her paycheck and far beyond her years of experience, leaving her own teammate and stronger teams in her wake.
She does not win her first race.
She never expected to do so in a Williams, however she does end up in the podium, below Norris and Verstappen. Though she’s not the day’s winner, the reporters seem far more interested in the only girl on grid pushing her Williams to a third place than in Red Bull’s three times World Champion or McLaren’s golden boy.
She’s the first women to ever put foot on a F1 podium—and on her very first race too.
Y/n Hakkinen is history in the making, a bold French journalist states.
One that the press finds a lot more interesting and appealing than the 7 times world champion that does not seem anywhere near his eighth title, or the current one, who can’t stop winning, until now.
Her second race, Jeddah, is another show of great skill, another podium, she finishes the race once again on third place. Scoring in just two races more points than Williams scored the whole of the last season.
In Australia she takes second.
When it comes to the comparisons, her rookie year can only be compared to Hamilton, she demonstrates the same prodigious talent on the track that the seven-time champion did in 2007, with the added mystic of doing so in a midfield car—she eventually breaks a few of his records, most consecutive podium finishes and most points in a debut, but she does not bet his record of most wins in a debut season.
Though she admits that Hamilton is one of her F1 idols she does not accept to be called the next Hamilton, “It is 2024, we should stop comparing people, I am not the next anybody, I am the first and only Y/n Häkkinen, thank you.”
There is no denying that she’s popular with the public, who find the quiet Monegasque who sings in her radio during races quite endearing.
She warm and inviting to the public and with fans, however, does not get closer with the other drivers until after her first win.
It is in Imola, the seventh race of the season.
She had developed a bit of an arrogant/cocky reputation with the lack of interaction with the rest of the grid—not even with her own teammate—and monosyllabic answers to the press.
At Ferrari’s home race she qualified third, behind Leclerc and Norris. On race day Sainz DNS’s, Verstappen has trouble with his car from the beginning and DNF’s and Russell crashes against the barrier taking out Alonso and Piastri.
Y/n/n overtakes Leclerc on the 22nd lap, and after some battling from the older Monegasque to regain position, she proceeds to lead the remaining of the race until the finish line, sharing the podium with Ferrari and McLaren, leaving the world speechless.
A Williams beating a Ferrari…in Imola.
She has a celebratory dinner with the team, picking up the bill and thanking everyone for the hard work, apologizes for sometimes being so closed and difficult to approach and promises to do better. Alex finally breaks his teammate's out of her shell, after only seven races, the two have a long—first conversation—during dinner, the Monegasque confesses that she kept her distance because she never got along with teammates, they always end up resenting her for winning—God forbids a girl winning in Formula.
The dinner ends up with Alex and Lily dragging her to a nightclub to meet with a few of the other drivers—who were celebrating Leclerc and Norris podium.
Most seemed shocked by her arriving alongside the couple—and the fact that she was dressed in something that didn't have the Williams logo in it—overall, after the initial chock, everyone was surprisingly welcoming. It surprises everyone that Y/n/n, is far from being the Ice Queen portrayed by the media, with monosyllabic answers and cold glares—she earns some points when as the winner of the day she puts her card on the bar to pay for drinks.
She gives as good as she gets to Pierre’s natural flirting, amusing everyone around, declares herself in love with Kika and Lily—Oscar’s girl—after half an hour talking about fashion. She sings with Yuki on top of her lungs, dances with Lando and Arthur and drinks them both under the table. At the end of the night leaves the club between George and Charles, the two most sober ones of the group, Albon's blazer jacket around her shoulders and a pair of sunglasses she doesn't remember who she got from covering her eyes.
Photos of the night appear all over the internet in gossip pages, there is speculation and some amount of hate in her comment section bellow her photos on Instagram, and although none of those involved or their teams comment on anything, it becomes clear in the following races that it was nothing more than a bonding moment between the rookie and the other drivers on the grid.
Being social does not affect her performance on track, she comes in seventh in Monaco after tire problems, fifth in Austria, and takes her second win in Silverstone.
For the first time in years, it seems like Williams Racing has a shot at the Championship, surprising all—though it is undeniable that the public loves an underdog by the growing number of Williams fans at each race wearing caps with the number eight and the soaring numbers on Y/n social medias.
It is after Silverstone that the other teams start to approach her about her next season, eager to bring her to the front row after she showed what she’s capable of with a Williams.
“I have yet to think about my future, as of now, I am focused on do my best with Williams.” She says during the press conference after avoiding several questions of the same content. “Deciding where I will be next season is something I have to do with a very cool head, without getting carried away by sentimentality. Like many drivers here, I have many dreams, but my main goal is to win. That's the only answer I'll give on the matter."
The press quickly catches on in the ‘bidding war’ amongst the teams for the hot commodity that is the prodigious young Monegasque.
Not to say that every race is perfect. Y/n/n is a consistent driver, but sometimes crashes are beyond her own control. Ocon crashed on her in Baku ending her race on the 15th lap, and at Spa she is unable to avoid crashing into Pierre after being hit by George and Zhou.
After several rollovers, Y/n/n ends up upside down, the driver is quick to turn off the engine, but it doesn't take long to notice that she has no radio and probably has a sprained wrist, which leaves her unable to get out of the car on her own.
She felt like a lifetime, when it barely took more than two minutes for Pierre and George to get to her—their own crash site not being far—and help her slide out of what is left of her car. Y/n watches the rest of the race from the medical unit, but she is there for the podium, with her wrist bandaged, smiling and cheering Lando third win of the season, a podium once again shared with Charles and Max.
Zandvoort is good, but not half as good as Y/n/n would have liked, it was almost a month in between Belgium and Netherlands, and her wrist is fully healed she had no excuse for not doing better.
After personally meeting with Toto Wolff in Monaco during the break for talks about taking a seat at Mercedes, the last think she wants is to underperform. She had other offers. But she won't be Verstappen's second at Red Bull, and she won't carry Stroll on her back at Aston Martin, much less wait two years for Audi debut in 26’, she’s too hungry for wins to wait.
It is after taking second place in Monza, that Y/n gives the go ahead so that her manager—her father—starts negotiating a contract with Mercedes.
Car issues stresses her out in Singapore and Suzuka. But she's more of a social butterfly as the season starts to come to an end.
By the time Interlagos arrives her contract with Mercedes in signed, securing a seat for her in 2025.
In Abu Dhabi, the last race of the calendar, she has her father by her side—and her older brothers, who did not attend for most of the season due to their own careers, are present. It's easy to see how important the three men are to Y/n—although she races with her father's surname, and the same number as he did, she does so under the Monegasque flag instead of the Finnish.
They say that when your career is soaring, your love life does not exist, and it couldn't be truer for her.
Her rookie year is one for the motorsport history books.
Y/n signs a Netflix deal for a Drive to Survive’ spin-off focused on women in motorsport and her own career. Brands she always admired reach out for endorsement deals and ambassadorship.
However, she never knows if a guy is interested in her or the privileges of dating a Formula One driver.
She did not take part in the podium at Yas Marina, yet her final position at the parc fermé kept her with just enough points to finish the Championship in third place.
Max is once again the World Champion, but different from previous years, it was not without sweat, this time it was a tough competition with Lando in his McLaren and the points difference between the first and second is tight.
To end the year on a high note, Y/n/n presents the entire Williams team with gift baskets, a kind of thank you and farewell gift, even though no one would know that she signed with Mercedes for a few more days. All the drivers receive a gift from her during Secret Santa, nothing too extravagant, she still feels shy about giving them a gift.
The announcement of Y/n/n's signing with Mercedes comes hours before the FIA Prize Giving Ceremony, it is posted with a photo of Y/n on George's right, both in Tommy Hilfinger apparel, Toto in the middle just a little behind his young drivers—looking every bit like a Ralph Lauren dad, proud of his preppy children, as a user on X pointed out.
It shocks everyone who thought that Toto had his eyes on Alonso or young Kimi Antonelli from Formula Two—even Ocon had shown up on the betting pool.
The ceremony happens in Abu Dhabi due to the last race of the year being near mid-December. Y/n arrives solo in a custom-made midnight blue Dior gown, glimmering in Cartier diamonds and blood-red lips, she was the focus of every flash on the red carpet with a thousand questions thrown her way, she smiles and waves and dodges questions like a pro.
She ends the night with three prizes, 3rd place in the World Championship, Rookie of the Year and Action of the Year—for that phenomenal overtake on Leclerc in Imola.
“How did you managed? It was a Williams against a Ferrari!” The presenter asked her impressed once the driver joins the stage.
“Big balls.” She jokes, sending the room in an uproar. “On a serious note, Leclerc is an amazing driver, it was tough, he hunted me down all the way to the finish line, winning when going against your idols, the people that inspire you, that you look up to, it is an amazing feeling, especially when their cars were much superior to your own.”
Y/n/n cracks another joke on stage after receiving the crystal trophy as she was seated beside Lando during the ceremony—and the internet can’t get enough of the screenshots from the broadcast of the two drivers talking and giggling, with Verstappen looking sternly at them for their shenanigans before smiling.
A/n: share your thoughts!

This is a little preview of my new series and yes, bunnies, this is a whole series from me. I hope everyone is ready for an erotic dystopia?
Decadent dystopian erotica with majestic dragons - second teaser for today
Glass House Ateez x reader
Everything changed in an instant.
The king was dead, and thousands of dragons took to the burning skies. The old world was over, and a 'new age' was in the making—an age of gods and monsters.
A thousand years ago, the fires of revolution blazed across the face of the world. Dragons—the creatures of ancient legends and children's fairy tales—reduced the once prosperous world to ashes in a matter of minutes. Rivers of black blood coursed through the veins of the streets, flooding the cities and lands in their wake. The sky was a blaze of purple flames and electric shocks. The church was reduced to rubble, and the royal family was executed in a public display. In the eyes of the dead, the unspoken horror in front of these majestic creatures remained forever, and in the sparks of the flames, they shimmered like precious sea stones.
There was a bitter smell of burning flesh and ash in the air. It was the smell of dreams on fire—the smell of a future in decay.
It was the beginning of the end of ancient life. The beginning of a new world. The Age of Immortality has begun.
All the legends turned out to be true; dragons did exist. They had always lived close to us, lurking in the velvety darkness of the night, waiting for the hour. Waiting for the hour to come when the power would be in their hands. Dangerous, unbridled, wild creatures of magic and the elements, predators at the top of the food chain. They had come into the world to rule, not to obey, and now, at long last, their time had come.
The world was at anarchy. Dragons were killing, raping, and enslaving races and lands as if it were an amusing child's game. They drank blood as black as the night from golden bowls, and they ate our succulent flesh as our bones cracked under the pressure of their razor-sharp teeth. They would hold orgies in the midst of the torn corpses and revel in their omnipotence. Those were the days of darkness. A time of terror, when the very word danger was a synonym for life itself. And so it went for several years, until the ultimate power fell into the clutches of the deadly Children of the Night, the oldest of all dragons.
The majestic Hala.
Eternal as the moon itself and deadly as the uncharted depths of the ocean, they inspired burning terror in all who encountered them. To their people, they were nothing more than a myth, a legend written on fragments of tablets. Forefathers, ancestors—they had hundreds of names, but each one inspired more fear than the last. They were predators among predators, bristling with animal dominance and primal, unbridled sexuality. They exuded power and sinfulness. They were the ones who defined the rules and set the boundaries of what was permissible.
With the arrival of Hala, a new phase in the history of the world began.
Humanity was enslaved, and dragons became the dominant species. As the years went by, the human population began to decline rapidly, with fewer and fewer humans, until "our" species reached the status of gatherers. Angelicus Nova, or Angel Stars, was what we came to be called. Human existence took on a strange religious orientation; we were worshipped, idolized, and adored, but despite all this, humans remained nothing more than a rare exchangeable currency, nothing more than an expensive trinket that was prestigious to own and could be broken with a flick of the wrist.
The human being also became one of the ways in which money flowed endlessly. These institutions were known as "glass houses." Gateway to heaven. They would be the equivalent of strip clubs or luxury escort houses if you and I were in the old world. The rules were the same: "Look, but don't touch." Girls and boys were expensive pieces of family jewelry that rested under the glass of fancy display cases. Our masters showed us off to the greedy eyes of the world with all the pride and ostentation that dragons have.
In spite of their possessive, animalistic nature, dragons were nothing more than swaggering bastards with inflated egos and delusions of grandeur.
Humans could be anything as long as dragons owned us—a muse, an innamorata, a nymph, an angel, a siren, or even a goddess—but like everything else in the universe, we came at a price.
The 'glass houses' were only in operation at night. During the day, all the 'jewels' rested and tidied up after tiring hours of contemplation of the world through the bluish glass of the display window. Nice, obliging workers in starched white collars were busy with the cleaning, scrubbing the baroque decorations of the vetrines with great care from a mixture of sperm, drool, and other secretions. You looked at it with an almost reverent awe, finding it disgusting to the point of bordering on the pornographically beautiful.
You could see it as real art—crude and original, but art nonetheless. There was something particularly mesmerizing about it, almost hypnotic, about the way the thick, pearly sperm dripped slowly from the golden flowers.
Of all the glass houses that ever existed, "Eros" was the most beautiful. It was the jewel in the crown of the New Empire, and you were its goddess. There were rumors that the Hala themselves were customers of 'Eros'. But rumors were only rumors. If they were ever to visit your 'home', you would know about it, for they would be where all men ended up—at your feet.
You were content with the life that you were living. There was no tragedy and no misery, no abusive family or abusive peers, no bullying and harassment at school—no, you had it all great. You were born here at Eros—the growth and blossoming of a beautiful flower. Your whole life has been within the confines of glass rooms and silk sheets, but unlike your dreamy friends, you weren't in need of rescue.
Your name is Aphrodite. Born in the radiance of the Creator. A goddess among goddesses, carved out of marble and mother of pearl. Your hair falls to the ground in waterfalls of pearls and silk. Your eyes are the eerie silvery moonlight in half-darkness, the deadly attraction of jewels in velvet lashes. Your lips are the succulent, juicy, forbidden fruit that every man would like to taste. The pain of your kiss is going to be the last pleasure of life.
You are not a delicate, pure lily; you are not a passionate, fiery rose; you are a narcissus reveling in the crystal of mountain waters. You love yourself to pain, to death, to despair, and in all the New Empire, there was none more beautiful than you.
Original sin. The primordial beauty. You are desire in all it manifests and begins to manifest.
The naked goddess, clad in snow-white fur like armor, is the goddess of love and ecstasy.
You've never been conceptualized; you've always been enigmatic.
You have been the object of worship. Your beauty has been sung in songs, and your love has been professed in a thousand languages. "Eros" was the site of visits from the mightiest and most powerful dragons of the New Empire. They all crawled at your feet, stroking their thick, greased with their cum cocks, greedily as they burned your skin with their golden gaze. They licked the deceptively thin glass of your display case with their long, sometimes split tongues, leaving muddy streaks on the perfect surface of the glass. The mighty and great dragons, unaccustomed to humiliation and submission, urinated like bitches in heat at the mere sight of your bare shoulders and long neck covered with diamond serpents, their eyes shining like stars in the twilight of your silken chambers. They would drip their sperm onto the icy marble floor until it collected in small, glistening puddles, and then they would lick it up as if it were the sweetest nectar in the world. Ambrosia in the truest sense.
Behind the glass walls of Eros, they were dominators, predators, and the rulers of this world through fear and pain, but here in this garden of Eros, they were nothing more than whores—shameless and needy. Slaves to your beauty, desperate to please you.
Their moans are always a delight to you. The moaning of your name.
The scenarios have been repeated to the point of being painful. Sugar-sweet subs with outstretched tongues and pretty, tear-stained faces. Dominant alphas with sweat-glistening skin and eyes rolling with pleasure.
Dragons fucked other dragons; orgies and bacchanals were staged; they were subjugated and subdued. They growled, moaned, squealed, and purred; some were fucked like a port slut, and some were licked for hours until they passed out from hyperstimulation. Some masturbated in front of your window, enjoying the fact that you were there to watch them, and there were others who would spend their heat and ruts in front of your window.
The list could go on and on: bondage, darkphilia, breeding, voyeurism, humiliation, objectification, and breathing games.
You were saturated with this game.
There were so many ways in which you could spend your evenings in the company of others. It was all designed to excite you, to make you beg, and to make you plead. Each of your visitors secretly hoped that one day you would strip off your luxurious furs and assume the position that was right for them—submissive, naked, and ready to accept whatever it was they were giving you.
It was an act of power; it was a position of strength, but here you were the strength. You were power.
No one would ever have the temerity to lay a hand on you. Goddesses are always untouchable.
You entertained yourselves by teasing them, mocking them, and fanning their flames of desire and passion. Dragons are creatures that are very dependent on their emotions and their desires; they feed on their power and their magic, but when they do not get what they want, it burns them from the inside; it breaks and crumbles them, like a cookie that has been bitten.
It was delicious, but you were full. Thank you, next.
You never denied that you were a sadist; you had a taste for pain; maybe it was a kind of revenge for the destruction of your family; maybe not. They came to you for that feeling; the dragons wanted to be punished and tamed, and the feeling of pain made them cum harder. As they say, Orgasm is a little death.
You could play this game for hours on end, letting the fur expose your boobs and pressing it against the cold glass as you went. It was magnificent—tall and plump, as if it had been milked with milk—with pink nipples the color of magnolia blossoms. There was something animalistically seductive about it—an appeal to their natural reproductive instincts—that evil thought of possible pregnancy. Their whimpering made you laugh, and the sounds they made were so sweet—desperate pleas and long, long moans.
"Let me taste you; I want it so much. I was a good boy, such a good boy."
There were other days when you would let your hands run over the bare skin of your thighs, leaving long red streaks that stood in erotic contrast to the silk of your pale skin. You smeared the clear, shimmering liquid of your juices along the line of your neck, in that most exciting place for dragons, where their teeth locked in a mating mark, as if branding their mate in the most perverse of affiliations.
"Tell me I belong to you; please say it. I'll do anything you don't want. Own me, use me; I want to be your toy.".
Sometimes other girls would be brought into your shop window to put on an erotic show. Exquisite nymphs and rosy-cheeked Lolitas would explore your tender skin with their soft, wet tongues, leaving traces of hungry kisses, until at last their lips would close on the most intimate spot between your thighs.
On days like this, the whole of 'Eros' would shake with furious, jealous growls and thunderclaps. Dragons were terrible possessive, and even though the "scene" itself would excite the hell out of them, the jealousy would burn through their veins from the inside out, like a deadly poison.
"You belong to me, and only to me. You are mine, mine and mine alone. I will tear this girl apart, and we will fuck in her blood until there are no more conscious thoughts left in your pretty little head, until you remember nothing but my name.".
But no matter what their words were to you, you didn't have a care in the world. Nobody would dare touch the goddess, and if they tried, they would not only lose their hands but also get killed.
That was the law of the New Empire—all the people who were left were protected and sheltered in an incredible way. There were very few of you, and if there had been any harm to even one of you, it would have been a real tragedy. Only once has there been a breach of that law, and the consequences have been terrible. No one wants a repeat.
In any case, your life in the Garden of Eros was a pleasure. Maybe it was some kind of perverse way of looking at the world and love, but you didn't have any desire to change anything; everything was great.
Have you ever wondered if there might be another version of you out there? Perhaps, somewhere in a parallel universe, humans would still exist as the dominant species, their countries and cities would be prosperous, and you would be living a different life—a normal one. There, in that other universe, that other Aphrodite—no, not Aphrodite—you would have an ordinary name, not a divine one, something cute, something sweet, and always with a hint of shyness. It is probably there that you would have experienced your first love, that you would dream of a prince who would take you off into the sunset, and that "and they lived happily ever after." You would have been embarrassed to talk about sex, and you would have blushed horribly if his fingers had been in your knickers. But you weren't her. And she wasn't you. You don't want to be saved from sinning; you want to become one of them. You want to experience forbidden pleasures. You want to subjugate and dominate.
You're not in need of a prince; you've already had a king, or rather, eight kings. The day will come when everything you have ever dreamed of will come true, even if you haven't met any of the Hala yet.
You want power; you want to sit on a golden throne in a castle high up in the sky, and so it shall be. They say that love is a great strength, but they fail to mention that it is also the greatest weakness. And you, like no one else, know how to use it to your advantage.
This is not a pink fairy tale. There are no rainbow ponies pooping rainbows and eating fairy dust. No, this is a rotten world. It is full of debauchery, violence, and sex. You could say, "Come and rescue me. I'm waiting for you," but no, you have to rephrase it as "I'm waiting for you to crawl on your knees and lick my heels, and from that moment on, I will own you.".
Yes, that sounds much better.
It's already eight o'clock; time to get ready; you're leaving soon.
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the most famous glass house in the New Empire. Tonight we have wet aesthetic cunnilingus as our main course, and for dessert, a mind-blowing orgasm. You have a choice of starters. Drinks are on the house. We accept cash and checks. If you wish, you can leave a tip for one of our "jewels.".
Our hope is that your time at Eros will be an unforgettable experience.

Two smart guys with 80’s tech can only do so much. It took them years to make the portal, one that breaks down everytime it activates.
For Commander Peepers? He can make a portal in a quarter of that time that’s stable.
It wouldn’t break down and would be able to control the excess energy that emits from it.
Peepers is the perfect pawn for Bill. Socially outcast with a crippling insecurity about his height, the desire to be praised and hold power over others, painfully lonely with a brilliant mind- he mirrors Ford in this way. I believe one of the WOY crew members emphasized him being different from the watchdogs.
It’s so easy for Bill; what do we have here? A smart guy who builds evil planet-destroying devices? Handling complex machinery?
He’s got a high IQ- misguided by his adoration for his stupid leader. The need for approval is crippling. So what can we do? Our little song and dance-
Bill’s experience speaks for itself. It would take very little effort, no questioning or anything- kind of boring, really.
Oh and Peepers has just been WAITING for someone to realize his true potential!
It’s all the same with Ford. He wants to feel special. The way Peepers would cling, claw, ride the high of the teensy bit of praise Hater gave him months ago…it makes Bill laugh. Such a sucker. A mathematically talented genius with more weaknesses than anyone can count.
So here we are, Peepers wants power. He wants respect. He wants to be seen. Bill promises Peepers a sense of social validation- to be adored- and eventually feared by his peers, and in extension, the galaxy. In return, Bill wants a portal- instead of spinning it as a “gateway for infinite knowledge of the universe” he can actually be a little more truthful. He’ll tell Peepers it can be used as an unstoppable weapon of destruction, better than what Major Threat had, better than what Lord Dominator had. The Peepers empire- I mean- The Hater empire would conquer the galaxy. Bill can come into this plane and they’ll rule everyone, side by side, Muse by Painter.
It’s a win win! Come on Peepers! Take the deal! When was the last time you played chess with someone that was actually smart enough to compete against you?
Infatuation: We saw how easy it was for Ford to be a Cipherholic. For many others to be. Peepers would unfortunately fall for his flattery. Under the assumption that Peepers is in love with Hater- (idolization if you wish) this prevents him from fully going evil, betraying everyone at once, I think.
But Peepers does get a little tired here and there putting up with Hater’s stupidity. Everyone’s stupidity, actually.
But Bill?
Bill has a lot of knowledge of the universe and intelligence.
Peepers would feel so intellectually stimulated by their conversations- likely about quantum theories, astrophysics, how stupid everyone is. There’s one thing Peepers has going on instead of Ford. Ford isn’t directly malicious or evil (besides the revenge fantasies), but Peepers is. He’d find Bill’s sadistic humor to be funnier than Ford ever did. Bill likes that.
Planting these seeds in Peeper’s brain- like the portal- Peepers would reach worship levels faster than Ford.
“I want to feel tall.”
“I’ll make you feel tall.”
Possession: This one is funny to think about, Bill’s unhinged behavior is exponential. He uses his charisma to gain social approval with the watchdogs and Hater’s favor in Peepers’ body. He probably wouldn’t have to complete all the calculations that Ford needed help with- really the possession is just so Peepers is more likable.
Bill’s feelings: Peepers was the easiest pawn to entrance. Bill finds this rather boring. There’s nothing to sink his teeth into- nothing to tear. Just a hollow puppet. He isn’t weird enough for Bill to enjoy, he seems rather logical and put together. Sure he’s shorter than everyone but was he born with any extra features that makes him an anomaly? But he’s certainly the most efficient puppet, so he’s gotta keep that going.
Peepers would also catch Fiddleford and Ford’s mistakes with the portal’s code.
Sort of like, “Oh haha, whoever did this code is so stupid, have they considered their calculations would blow up the entire room?!”
Bill being Bill, filled with bitterness, would agree in tandem at first. “Haha YEAH my last guy wasn’t up to par!”
Before uh, Peepers gets carried away and Bill’s own complicated feelings about Ford arise.
“Seriously, have you seen this derivative answer?! A traffic cone could have done better-”
“That’s enough”
Ford: I don’t have a set story/timeline for these two in mind, but I would like to imagine Ford’s reaction. Being unable to stop the vicious cycle repeat chokes him. Warning Peepers and all, oh don’t fall for it, he’ll betray you, promise you a galaxy, yadda yadda…
But Peepers only hears that last part.
“My own galaxy…?”
“Yes, he’ll make you ‘one of them’ and promise ultimate power with no law or restrictions- everything you could dream of- but DO NOT fall for it!”
Peepers falls for it. Or rather embarasses himself- Bill does not care for Peepers in this way. He’d never offer this unless it was for gain, so what does Peepers do? Throw himself to Bill and the Henchmaniacs- pleading to be a part of them. All that results from that is being laughed out of the room. Doesn’t help that he's the shortest.
Peepers doesn’t fit in with the watchdogs, or even the crazy weirdos/freaks.
He is truly alone.

I'm writing a scene where a cultivater (chinese martial artists who fights ghosts) falls in a forest and I'm trying to figure out how someone who fights on rough terrain would train to fall. I tried looking at martial art/parkour/stunt man tutorials, but I feel like a lot of the basic techniques (rolling, and slapping the ground to distribute weight) wouldn't work well on uneven ground. I also tried looking at hiking advice but they just say to fall on your pack. Any insight?
Chinese cultivators don’t fall, they choose to reacquaint themselves with the ground.
That sounds like a joke, but the best way to understand Chinese cultivators and Chinese fantasy media is to realize that martial arts are the gateway drug to magic. And that will get you into a lot of trouble if you follow that all the way into Martial Arts Give You Superpowers, which is both the outgrowth of the western understanding of Chinese culture and a trope rife with orientalism. Cultivation seems simple on the surface when you’re watching Chinese media, but it’s more than martial arts, it’s more than religion, it’s more than mythology, (though it is all of those too) it’s a genuine transition into metaphysics that reorients how we understand and interact with the world around us. The concepts we see in cultivation come from real martial arts philosophy that you find in Tai Chi, Shaolin, and most other Chinese martial arts. They come from real religions including Daoism, Buddhism, a healthy dose of Confucianism, general mythology and mysticism from a wide range of subcultures, and, to an extent, Animism. If you aren’t doing your reading with the Eight Immortals, Journey to the West, The Legend of the White Snake, and others then you should dig in. I also really suggest watching the live action C-Dramas whether they’re true Wuxia or more Xianxia idol dramas (and in this case the idol dramas are better because the action is slower) so you can acquaint yourself with the stylized martial arts portrayals, a wide variety of choreography, character archetypes essential to motif based storytelling, and the most important aspect of all—wire work.
Understanding and conceptualizing stunt action done on wires is essential when you’re trying to visualize and create action scenes in any East Asian genre. Your first instinct might be to dismiss the stylized movement as unrealistic (it is) but remember that it’s also genre essential. Hong Kong action cinema has a very specific feel to it that’s very different from the way Western cinema structures and films their fight scenes. Even when you’re writing, you’ll want to find ways to imitate it through your visual imagery on the page.
Probably the best way to contextualize cultivators is that they’re wizards who do martial arts. They’ve learned to transcend the limitations in our understanding of reality through knowledge and study to perform superhuman feats. How superhuman? Well, it gets wild. They can be anywhere from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon/Who Rules the World fly through the trees levels to Shang Tsung’s “I’m going to slam my hell reality into your normal reality because commuting to work is too much of an inconvenience.”
Which is to say, they don’t always fight ghosts. Sometimes they fight other martial artists, sometimes they fight other cultivators, sometimes they fight demons, sometimes they fight gods, and sometimes they fight incredibly overpowered monkeys. They’re often monks living in seclusion on a mountaintop, but not always. Cultivation is more of a state of mind. Anyone can do it if they learn how to absorb spiritual energy from the world around them through meditation and breathing exercises. Gods cultivate. Humans cultivate. Animals cultivate. Remember, the demons and the ghosts cultivate too. Sometimes, your master gets reincarnated as a demon. Sometimes, you do. The amount of wacky spellcasting you can do is dependent on how much energy you’ve cultivated, which is dependent on how old you are and how good at cultivation you are. Using the power means you need to cultivate more energy, the greater the spell or difficult the battle then the more energy is lost.
This is important to the question of: how does a cultivator fall?
Metaphorically? Existentially? Physically?
When we’re talking physically, wire work becomes very important. Think of your cultivator as being on wires. If they have the knowledge and understanding to do it, they can slow their own fall through the air to land harmlessly on the ground or twist over like a cat and launch themselves back off the ground to fly at their opponent in a counter attack. If they have the knowledge and understanding, they can teleport. If they lack the knowledge and understanding or want to trick their opponent, they can hit the ground like a sack of potatoes. If they’re relying on basics, they can also smack the ground to counter and spread out the impact then use the momentum from that fall to roll back onto their feet. They’ll do it no matter what terrain they’re on because it’s a basic technique that’s trained into their foundation to the point it’s a reflexive action. Any force distributed away from, and reducing impact on, important body parts like your spine is better than nothing. It’s better to sacrifice your arm than be paralyzed. At its heart, that’s the point of the technique. If you’re able to walk away with a functioning spine, it’s done its job. Your shoulder hurts? That’s normal. Your arm is sprained or broken? Sucks, but that’s better than the alternative that is paralysis and death. For reference, learning to fall was the first lesson my Wushu instructor ever taught me. It is that basic.
A lot of the time when portraying cultivators in media, the goal is to show them as being beyond the limitations of standard martial artists. How vast the gap is between the cultivator and the average human is dependent on both the setting and the cultivator. So, the average martial artist who possesses superhuman talents but hasn’t dedicated themselves to a life of cultivation and cultivators who are new to the path are going to be on the rung below and more likely to be knocked on their ass. Cultivators in the mid-range are more likely to have crafted or trained in solutions to being knocked on their ass which put them in a less vulnerable position while recovering and empowered/enhanced their martial arts. Cultivators in the top tier are usually straight up masters at spellcasting, if they deign to fight at all. Gravity need not apply. Rember, the time it takes you to hit the ground and roll to your feet is time your opponent has to launch a counter attack or move to a better position. Also, it means you’ve taken your eyes off your opponent. This is bad enough against a normal human opponent. Against another mostly immortal or ancient magic user this risks a terrible outcome.
Cunning and strategy are both as important as skill. Wisdom, knowledge, and hard work outweigh talent and raw potential. You’ll have to decide how esoteric you want to be and what limits you want to set. I really urge you to do this because the danger of power creep is real and especially prominent here. A character’s growth in power is often linked to their growth in character or their arc, as they gain a greater understanding of themselves and the world around them their skill increases. The self-discovery/self-reflection/self-interrogation/intense suffering to reach enlightenment portion is just as important and intrinsic to the martial arts portion of Martial Arts Give You Superpowers. It’s easy to focus on the Superpowers or the Martial Arts parts of the equation and miss the genre necessity of character growth. This growth often happens through heaps of steadily increasing trauma. Or, failing to undergo that by being too powerful and thus unable to progress is the joke like it is in Qi Refining for 3000 Years. (Go to hell, Bai Qiuran, you hilariously overpowered monstrosity.)
The irony is that the trajectory in character growth is the same trajectory the average student experiences when practicing martial arts. The only difference is that the power arc is inflated. This includes overcoming ingrained truths that you believe about yourself, about your own abilities, what you believe yourself to be capable of (both good and bad,) about your biases toward yourself and other people, your biases about reality in general, your understanding of good and evil, the potential upending of right and wrong, and facing the greater complexity found in the world at large. The stripping away of these illusions, coming to terms with uncomfortable realizations in a more complicated world, and the gaining of new understanding and confidence are vital to that growth.
Skill isn’t just represented in the power creep, it’s also found in a character’s sophistication and complexity in their approach to combat and life in general. Their awareness both of themselves and of other people, their ability to read intentions, their predictive abilities, their complexity in initiating their own strategy and tactics while also recognizing and countering the plans of others. It’s their insight into human nature and their cunning. It’s not enough to be powerful. The world is full of powerful people and not so powerful people who have the capacity to be just as dangerous. This isn’t Goku and Freeza slamming into each other while the planet explodes in nine minutes. You also need to be smart. It’s also not about being a better person. It’s about being a self-aware person. A person who is self-actualized. Monkey’s growth is in his awareness of the world around him through his experiences and in approaching problems differently rather than becoming less of a little shit. If you grow up in the West, one of the issues you’re going to face is thinking of these hurdles as materialistic rather than emotional or intellectual.
A lot of Western media misinterprets the concepts of “giving up” as physical sacrifice. One of the popular examples is physically sacrificing the person we love. In order to have enlightenment, we must be separated from them. We can’t physically be with them anymore. Whereas under a Buddhist structure, what we are actually sacrificing is our own ignorance, our own preconceptions, and beliefs that keep the world comfortable. Under this structure, we’re sacrificing our preconceived notions of who our loved one is. The person that we invented when we first met and we must force ourselves to come to terms with who they really are. The outcome of this isn’t necessarily going to be bad, but it’s still painful. The person we think we love could be perfectly wonderful. However, they’re not who we imagined. If we choose to hold onto the illusion we created, to ignore the realization that the illusion is the person that we love, we’ll only end up causing ourselves and our loved one more pain. We must fall in love with them all over again. Coming to terms with that is painful. All pain comes from ignorance. In sacrificing, letting go of, or overcoming our ignorance, we grow.
These are the emotional, intellectual, and spiritual challenges necessary for a cultivator because they allow the cultivator to level up. Yes, level up. Whether this is coming from the influx of gaming culture into media at large or because the concept synergizes with the Buddhist goal of progressing through the Six Realms toward nirvana, leveling up is how a cultivator’s increasing power is often depicted. Of course, once we reach the next level we can’t go back except by falling or failing and are no longer the person we once were. This then gets mixed in with Daoist principles of finding divine understanding by living in harmony with the universe. The more understanding we gain of the world, the more energy we can absorb as a result, but our original goals may be lost or changed in the process. If a character begins their journey on the path of revenge, their newfound contextualization of the situation that caused them immense pain may force them to give that revenge up or find they don’t want revenge anymore.
Failure is also an option and often a common part of the story. These stories usually follow characters through multiple lives and rebirths over hundreds and even thousands of years, especially if they’re also gods. This is the existential fall. The fall to the Dark Side. All our heroes are going to go through it at least once. This is also why a lot of Chinese media ends in tragedy with hope for the next round.
-Michi

Heyy!! I have this cute idea
How about Yunjin and 6th member reader who are in a relationship and whenever they play any sorta game R looks at Yunjin pouting and so Yunjin lets her win all the time and the other members are annoyed at her
Just a light-hearted idea
A/N: Hii! This really was such a cute idea.
Pairing: Yunjin x Fem!Reader
Idol: Huh Yunjin (Le Sserafim)
Warning(s): None!
You and Yunjin have been dating for several months now, and your love for each other had only grown stronger with time. Of course, the girls were well aware of this and supported it. However, it was times where you played games that they couldn’t stand you both, or more so Yunjin. One thing you guys enjoyed doing when you had free time was playing video games together.
The familiar jingle of Mario Kart's theme song filled the room, you and the others settled yourselves on the couch, eagerly grabbing your controllers. Your members (and girlfriend) were more than ready for an intense gaming session. Whenever you guys gathered for these sessions, everyone was competitive, especially Sakura and Eunchae.
For this game, you were on teams. Yunjin, Chaewon and Eunchae were one team, and Sakura, Kazuha and you were on the other. Everyone knew that if Yunjin was on one team and you were on the opposite, they would want to be on your team. It was basically a gateway to winning.
This round, you and Yunjin were against each other. You couldn't help but smile as you glanced over at Yunjin. She always looked adorable when she was focused, her brows furrowed in concentration. There was no trash talking, but you did poke fun at her every now and then. Though, you had a tactic for whenever you began losing. Knowing that Yunjin couldn’t resist you, you abused the power you had over her. The competitive nature in you couldn't resist trying to bring out Yunjin's soft side. You would do anything to win, even if it meant playing dirty. So, whenever you found yourself losing, you would pout and shoot Yunjin a playful, pleading gaze. It didn't take long for Yunjin to fall for your tactics. Seeing your adorable pout, she couldn't resist giving in to her girlfriend's wishes.
As the race progressed, Yunjin's gaze kept drifting towards you, unable to resist the urge to make you happy. Every time you pouted, Yunjin's heart melted, and she found herself easing off the gas pedal, allowing you to pass her effortlessly.
The other members quickly caught on to Yunjin's habit of letting you win, and they couldn't help but express their displeasure. Well, it was more so your rivals. Chaewon, known for her fiery spirit, couldn't contain her annoyance any longer. "Yah! Stop letting her win!" she shouted, throwing her controller up in the air in frustration. Eunchae joined in, throwing her head back in exasperation and exclaiming, "Unnie!"
Amidst the chaos, Sakura and Kazuha couldn't help but celebrate the victory. They high-fived each other, enjoying their win while sharing amused glances with you.
Yunjin, on the other hand, was flustered by Chaewon’s outburst and tried to defend herself. "I-I'm not letting her win on purpose! It's just... luck!" She stammered, desperately searching for excuses. But her teammates weren't buying it. They scoffed and rolled their eyes, clearly unconvinced.
While Chaewon continued to scold Yunjin, Sakura and Kazuha basked in your victories. Unable to contain your delight, you jumped up from the couch, cheering loudly before rushing over to hug Yunjin tightly. Planting a sweet kiss on her cheek, you couldn't help but tease your girlfriend playfully, "My big softie!" The members' voices faded into the background as you showered Yunjin with affection, not caring about the chaos surrounding her.
She blushed furiously, caught between the joy of your affection and the disapproving glares of her members. The raven-haired girl stammered, trying to find the right words to defend herself once again. "I... I just wanted Y/N to have fun, that's all! It doesn't mean I'm not good at this game!" She protested, hoping to salvage her dignity. Laughter filled the room as the playful banter between Yunjin, Chaewon and Eunchae continued.
Eventually, the members realized that no amount of complaints or protests would change Yunjin's behavior. They accepted that Yunjin was head over heels for you and couldn't resist your charms, even in the digital realm. Besides, deep down, they were happy to see Yunjin so smitten.
And so, as the Mario Kart tournament continued, Yunjin found herself torn between competitiveness and the overwhelming desire to see your smile. Yunjin occasionally tried to sneak in a win, but you always saw through her tactics, and you would both dissolve into fits of laughter. The members learned to embrace the dynamic and even started teasing Yunjin about being a "whipped girlfriend," which only made Yunjin blush and laugh along.
No matter what, she knew that in the end, there was no resisting you, and your members couldn’t stop that. They wouldn’t even bother trying.

felix x fem!reader
you and felix broke up years ago, but now felix has the best idea on how to win you back.
wc: >700
warnings: established break up, felix wants to get reader back, mention of idol life and concerts
seeing your ex boyfriend’s face on billboards and hearing his voice on the radio wasn't exactly what you wanted. but you're proud of his success, nonetheless. a part of you wishes that you could've been there for him during this time in his life, be a person he could go to for comfort when he's too stressed. the possibility of that happening ended years ago, though, when you and felix broke up a couple months before his debut. within the years you two have been separated, you thought that you would get over felix. although, as of a couple months ago, the idea of moving on has gotten ten times more difficult.
a couple months ago stray kids had a comeback. you heard bits and pieces of their newly released music playing in stores and on the radio but what really caught your attention was the fact that one of their new songs was a love song. this love song was discussed often on social media, mainly that felix played a big part in writing the lyrics. you're the one who broke up with felix but the idea of him being with someone else hurt. naturally, you decided to listen to the song in full and that was when you realized that the lyrics were about you. felix wrote a love song about you years after breaking up. one thing that most stays didn't pick up on was the passive aggressiveness of the lyrics. it wasn't your average love song, the lyrics expressed hope and pain at the same time. was lee felix possibly still in love with you after all these years, after you broke his heart?
then last week, you got an email from jype. you had never expected to get an email from your ex boyfriend's company asking for permission to use your voice in one of stray kids’ songs. you didn't send back a response until two days later. you had asked what exactly they meant by ‘use your voice’, you weren't an idol or anything so you quickly knew that felix had something to do with this. and you were right, jype had said that they wanted to use audio clips of your voice that a member already has. the only information you got from their second email is that felix saved all of the voice messages you sent him when you were dating. not only that, but the fact that he still listens to them.
you had told the company that it was fine to use your voice in their song. you regret telling them that. it only opened up a new gateway of communication between you and felix. you were about to unknowingly cross a bridge that got torn down years ago.
since then, the song has been released and many fans were speculating who the female voice in the song was. jype has been giving you opportunities to come to the company and meet stray kids, which you always decline. you can't face felix again. that was until the company offered you one free concert ticket. it's one night and you'll be in a crowd with thousands of other people, there's no way he’ll be able to spot you out; so you decide to go to the concert. it was such a stupid idea, of course, they’ll give you vip and you’d be in the front row.
now, in the pit of some random venue, you are face to face with your ex boyfriend who stares at you from the elevated height of the stage. you stare back, giving him the most calculated glare, letting him know that you know everything.
you leave the concert not wanting another thing to do with lee felix or the rest of stray kids. unfortunately, those cards weren't in your favor. since in a couple of days you’ll not only get another email from jype but a text from a number you forgot you still had in your phone; a person who goes by the name lee yongbok.
requests are open !!

I’m new to the fandom, I found the show on Disney and couldn’t look away. Jimin and Jungkook are so cute I had to know more about them. I found my way here to tumblr, it’s been a while since I’ve been involved in a fandom, but I do love their music and they seem to be such a cute couple!
I Read on here though that some people think these two were distant in the past year? I came across it looking for the way the travel show came to be, not that I found anything about that other than what was said on the show. I was just wondering why they made it and not fully with the group? I know some were enlisted at the time? Anyway, the take I found on a blog shocked me. This person saying they are either Fwb, they broke up or were just distant? But how can that be when they made this show? They seem so in tune with each other and domestic? And to enlist, which I learnt hadn’t been done before for an idol?
I just See commitment and got weirded out by said comments by people supposedly supporting them. I’ve never seen that in a fandom space before. I found some of your posts and you seemed level headed and I just wanted to ask your pov?
Thank you
Hi, and welcome to the fandom. Are you a BTS fan as well or just jikook? I'm so curious 😅 maybe they'll be your gateway drug to BTS and that would be WILD. Bcs shipping, or in jikook's case supporting, is usually something that happens once you look deeper into certain interactions or vibes.
And Jikook have vibes to spare! So it doesn't surprise me that you pick up on that.
When it comes to jikook I think the best way to approach them as you travel in these spaces is to just enjoy them for what they present to you. What you see, is what you get. Now, tbh some people look SO closely they think they're seeing things that aren't even there. They think they can infer motivation and emotions and whole backstories cut from cloth all from A LOOK, usually from a three second clip heavily slowed down 😂. I think it's much simpler than that. You see it. You put 2 and 2 together when you said 'they enlisted together'.
That's everything right there.
Jimin and Jungkook chose to be together. They've been choosing eo since they were teenagers. They're the ones who are most often seen together. No matter the setting. Jikook speak the same language, one borne of love and respect. They see the other, truly see, flaws and all and still love and support. They know things about the other they themselves can't know or see about themselves.
I'll be honest and say that I, too, thought at a certain point thar they might have cooled it down at a certain point. They are humans, after all, and relationships aren't always easy. In my eyes, they are mature enough to be able to revert back to friendship if that were to ever happen. Yet, I don't think they'd be able to stay away from each other. They really have something special going, and why would you deny yourself such a thing?!
I need to say, though, that jikook are not the first idols ever to enlist in the buddy program. Though I can't tell you who did.
It’s noteworthy because once again, jikook chose to deviate from what the other BTS members were doing. Defying everyone: their haters, solos, and the general fandom. But...jikook gonna jikook. No matter the eyerolling and haw clenching. And that, that takes some real guts.
The reason jikook did the travel show together and not with the group is because the others are not a part of their symbiosis. Easy as that. Jikook have something else going on. Something that makes them want to spend extra time together. This, however, does not threaten the group, nor the other friendships within, nor the special bonds they each have with other people. But it is different. And whomever doesn't see that is just being wilfully ignorant.
So, there it is. Plain and simple. By enlisting together, jikook are once again not hiding the (to some) obvious. It's just another step towards that something they've been nurturing. They've been doing it for years. No matter the cost. And that is not something you'd do with a fuck buddy 😌🙂↕️ right?
Thanks for your ask! 💜

Radahn and Miquellas' Vow
This is a bit disjointed and unorganised but I just need to get this thought out.
I’m gonna have a hot take but maybe Radahn did agree to the Vow on his own free will and was always okay with it. So Miquella sees Radahn as a kid, and admires him, and then Miquella is chosen as an Empyrean, and starts his plan. They both promise each other that if this Vow were to happen, Miquella would do something for Radahn, and Radahn would become his consort when the younger ascends to Godhood.
I think it’s plausible Radahn started to lose admiration for the Golden Order (his idol was kicked out of the lands after all, and his father divorced his mother and left her heart broken so he could marry into the Golden Order, and Radahn is all about being loyal!!) and began to think about challenging it. In the opening cutscene you see Morgott and Radahn fighting. I think Radahn really tried becoming Elden Lord, but obviously didn’t succeed. Then Radahn goes to Miquella and agrees on the Vow.
I think his wish for Miquella may have been to kill Radahn in an honourable way, in combat. I’m assuming he’d know about the Land of Shadow, and Miquella’s plan to get to the Gate of Divinity, and that Radahn would have to die so his soul could be brought back there. See: Secret rite scroll:
Few can decipher the scroll, which describes the secret rite of the divine gateway said to be found at the tower enshrouded by shadow.
"A lord will usher in a god's return, and the lord's soul will require a vessel."
Idk the technicalities! But yeah. So Radahn and Miquella fight, but Malenia fights for Miquella as she is his blade and would be willing to do that for him. They fight, but Malenia is losing, and is determined to see that Vow go through. So in a last effort to defeat Radahn, she unleashes her scarlet rot. But it still doesn’t work. So the vow is left unfulfilled. At this time, Miquella had already cocooned himself and been taken away by Mohg to receive his accursed blood and be able to go to the Realm of Shadow. He’s in the realm of shadow, doing his thing, abandoning his everything. But is unable to complete the rite and his plan with Radahn’s soul not there with him. Until we inadvertently fix it for him and now Miquella’s followers think we’re on his side but we are just trying to fix the Elden Ring lol.
OR: I’m just stupid, and actually, Malenia beat up Radahn because he betrayed the Vow, for whatever reason, and would force him into being Miquella’s consort anyway. Miquella really wanted his ass. So he decides to do what the secret rite scroll says and has this as a backup plan because the Vow didn’t work. Radahn’s soul is taken to the Realm of Shadow, Mohg’s corpse is used to house Radahn’s soul, and the big lad himself is remade in Miquella’s image.
In this scenario, the Vow could’ve been to make the solar eclipse and resurrect Godwyn? There’s a big fuss in Castle Sol about the eclipse needing to be done for Miquella, and I’m assuming it’s to give Godwyn a proper death. and Radahn couldn’t fulfil this part of the Vow because he decided to hold back the stars.
So when he’s revived, it’s himself before he became the Starscourge, because that’s who Miquella made the vow with.
IDFK !!!!!!! Both versions make sense to me! This started because I thought about Radahn’s view of the Golden Order since Godfrey was kicked out, and his mother was heartbroken by Radagon, and Radahn is all about loyalty and stuff. So personally I like the first scenario I talk about. But that’s just me! I don’t want to say what is right and wrong. It’s just what I think. And that might change in the future too, who knows!
#tommie thoughts#elden ring spoilers#shadow of the erdtree spoilers#elden ring#shadow of the erdtree#elden ring radahn#elden ring miquella#radahn#miquella#i have so many thoughts about this game but i am very bad at putting them into words#i apologise!! :(#very happy to talk about this further too :D#i will always talk about elden ring even if nobody listens#this is my blog darn it

Ultimately I don’t think prsk fans should be expected to have been long time fans of vocaloid or even keep up with newer releases. I think prsk being a gateway into vocaloid for a lot of people is really great and it makes me happy. I just also think that if you’re going to make a video called “songs I want in prsk” you should consider realism like. They are not putting kick back or bling-bang-bang-born or whatever in the game. Maybe idol is possible? idk. Just because a song is in Japanese does not mean it’s a candidate for prsk especially if the creator doesn’t have any connection to vocaloid.
Also there’s a difference between a touhou collab, where a lot of these songs are adjacent to vocaloid, and a collab with a big anime. Let’s all hold hands and mourn them not putting chirumiru/marisa stole the precious thing in prsk.
#I would love to be wrong but this is a hatsune miku game not a Japanese music game#iirc the ado songs/eve songs are bc ado/eve have roots in vocaloid#even a yorushika song feels like a long shot & n-buna has a song in the game#mine

- Oh.
Miyako looked to one side and then another. Digimon could invade the internet and other kinds of computer networks to spread information, couldn’t they? And after saving the Digital World a couple of times, she should be considered at the very least a fairly well-known Chosen Child, right? Or at least that’s what she liked to think.
But that was some random little digimon whose only mistake was to hear about how she stole and ruined her eldest sister’s dress to impress her very unimpressed onee-sama.
Maybe he didn’t even know her onee-sama was the beautiful princess Mimi Tachikawa.
- You won’t tell anyone? You mean it? Not even the gekomon?
"Gah-!"
Without missing a beat, Cthyllamon was quick to swim further away from Miyako. Geez- this human was threatening him? Wait. The way she spoke- did she have a partner Digimon? Like Hiro and the others? It wasn't far-fetched- if they could have partners, other humans surely could, right? But that minor thought didn't last for long- he was being yelled at, and he didn't appreciate it one bit!
"Geez! You're actin' like I'm gonna tell this to everyone I know! So mean!!" He exclaimed in return, kicking up water with his wings and fins through a minor tantrum.
"I'm not scared of some dumb-sounding Digimon! Or you! Don't go around threatening random Digimon you meet!"
#Digital Friends~ | The Digimon#The 02 Idol | Teenager Verse#Chosen Children LET'S ROLL!! | In Character#digital-gateway#{poor cthyllamon is doing his best dknndkas}#{there you go miyako's very stupid secret}#{i just needed something dumb for her to fuss about ajdalksadklasd}

genre: superhero fiction (any form of art/music is portrayed as a superpower), dystopian future, science fiction, adventure, action, mystery, thriller, drama, romance, angst, mature content (rebellion and war, underground illegal things, explicit smut)

What if there was a K-pop based game? Not a Just Dance K-pop edition, but an actual game? What would the gameplay be like? Would you play or buy it? And who should be the first cover idol?
This honestly shouldn't be something I put so much thought into, and it's only scratching the surface, but there's so much material and concepts you could do with a K-pop based game. Other suggestions have already been tackled and explained tactfully, such as gameplay and Career/Story Mode, so here's a list of things and ideas I would like to see in a hypothetical game:
Cover idol:
I think if it’s not BTS or Blackpink, especially for the first game, you’d cause a huge riot. They are far and away the two most popular and recognized K-pop groups of all time, and are basically most Westerners’ gateway to the genre. It makes sense why not them, they’re currently inactive (esp. since BTS are in the military), but I’d argue that you should easily make two cover versions of the game—one with BTS, the other Blackpink. If it has to be one active idol, you could go with many options: Wonyoung, Karina, An Yujin, Yeji, Chaewon, Winter, Seulgi, Sana, Miyeon. It would be cool to have a foreign idol, but it has to be a Korean first, and I’d personally go with Wonyoung. For the Legacy/Legend Editions, I’d pick IU.
MyGM:
You could go three ways with a MyGM mode. Group based, company based, and music show based. All three will have similar gameplay elements, but have different ways and strategies to go about managing a successful group, company or music show.
MyIdol could be you as a singular group’s manager, scheduling comebacks, concerts, days-off, and so on during a calendar year. There’s a stamina/morale system to balance between working them for profit/popularity and resting them so that none of the members get disgruntled and leave or be sidelined. You’d also have to make decisions for the members’ solo opportunities, line distribution, and more.
MyCompany is larger in scale—you now run an entire company or sublabel (good luck if you’re running Cube or SM lmao). You have to manage every artist’s comebacks and schedules, or else they leave or demand a contract termination. An addition from MyIdol is the ability to sign other idols/artists/trainees on the free agent market and you can add them to existing groups or create new groups with your current roster.
MyMusicShow would basically be WWE 2K’s MyGM. You’re in charge of a music show/Korean TV station like KBS’ Music Bank or SBS’ Inkigayo and you have to compete with other networks for the best ratings of the week throughout a calendar year. You can negotiate exclusive contracts with other agencies so that their groups can only appear on your programs, as well as managing set designs/TV booking (who wins on your show)/screentime for the artists on your show.
Universe Mode:
What it says on the tin: you have control over the entire industry and decide who are the top dogs, create special collaborations, send groups on international stages, etc.
Showcase Mode:
Depends on who’s the cover idol: you basically replay some of their most iconic/legendary stages throughout their career. If it were someone like Wonyoung for example, it would include her Very Very Very performance from PD48, that one Love Dive baseball stage, K-Pop Flex 2022, her 2022 Melon Music Awards performance, and so on. You could also do one for whoever’s on the Legend/Legacy Edition cover.
Roster:
Depending on which companies are down for it, I expect all the current 4th/5th gen guys to be available from the start, while 3rd/2nd gen groups are labeled as Legends/Legacy and require some grinding to unlock (with few exceptions). Newer groups would probably be DLC or groups from prominent eras/releases (like 2018 TWICE or 2010 SNSD for example). TheLibrarian’s suggestion of having boy group/girl group only versions is also a possible option, but c’mon, if the NBA and WWE 2K games can include both their men and women’s rosters, I see no reason for the K-pop game not to do the same.
I put so much unnecessary thought into it for some reason, I even tried making concept covers of my own using my ideas and others (they're kinda bad XD). Sorry you had to read through all that.

Aespa Thoughts on Being an Idol
Now to continue with some recommended girl groups to do. Let's look into Aespa and what their thoughts are on being an idol. Hopefully it isn't as difficult as the one with IVE. Let's see what we get here.
Karina
What she likes? (The Star) The hope, the optimism. This is something she has maybe wanted and hope for. The fact that she can inspire others and live to her full potential or have the ability to show her potential. It was like this was what she was meant to do. She enjoys the spotlight and attention on her. It is cleansing and purifying for her. Not sure why that would be, but okay girl, whatever makes you happy, do you.
What doesn't she like? (The Chariot/The Moon/5 of Pentacles) She gave me a lot here. This may be telling a story. I am seeing that her dream wasn't what it was cracked up to be. She went in very confident. She was ready to dive into it all, but there are illusions here, a lot of uncertainty, fears and worries. There is a sense of lack here or scarcity. Maybe not as much money as she may have thought. There is a lack of support and may not as much money put into them. Is the company in debt or broke? Like they flex more, than they really have. Interesting.
What she has experienced/learned from the past? (Rebirth/3 of Swords) Like what she wanted from childhood wasn't what it was cracked up to be. There is a lot of hurt and frustrations here. She is kind of stunted, she is infantilized. She is kind of stuck. She may have expressed her hurt and frustration in the past as well. It is like she was a child again, maybe reborn again. It is hard for her to grow up, it is like they won't let her mature or be independent. Oh, she got some interesting sh** to say.
Thoughts on fans? (Ace of Pentacles) Well, this is interesting. I mean she sees fans as an opportunity for her to advance and build her career. They are a gateway to that. I asked for another card and got The Sun, she seems to like the attention the fans give her. Does she have any Leo in her chart? It is like they awaken something in her. They bring her joy and happiness. They fulfill a childhood dream.
Okay, she was interesting, let's see if we get something from the others.
Giselle
What she likes? (The Chariot/The Moon) She is giving me a like for what Karina didn't like wtf. She may like stepping into the unknown, the mystery of it all. She may like the challenge of being an idol. There is a sense of wanting to defeat the odds, she has a fighter, confrontational mentality here. She likes that she is able to face her fears with being an idol. It is like she is willing to face the good and the bad of it all.
What she does not like? (7 of Pentacles) That she is molded to fit a standard of the company and maybe the public. There is a sense of stagnation, and inability to grow. She may find aspects of her career boring or there is a lack of passion here. She is a bit stifled here, similar vibe to Karina in this aspect.
What has she learned/experienced in the past? (5 of Cups) That she will face disappointments or just be disappointed in general. There may have been missed opportunities she regrets in the past. Maybe the fact that she didn't enjoy things when she should have. There is this focus on what she lost or doesn't have, but she struggles to look at what she does have and has achieved. There is a struggle to look at the bright side of things.
Thoughts on fans? (10 of Wands/King of Cups) She may find having fans can be a burden, physically exhausting to appease them, or she has to do a lot to please the fans. She may also see them as carrying a lot of burdens and overly tired, she may see them as draining. She may be someone who gets drained with being around a lot of people and maybe they are draining. Do they have a lot of male fans? Not sure why I got the KOC's here, but maybe she protects her emotions around the fans. She adores them, but also knows how to keep emotional boundaries. She cares for them, and she may want to help them emotionally. She may also see them emotionally stable, or she tries to be emotionally stable around them. That was kind of all over the place, but not sure which direction to go here, it may be all the above. She may also like to offer emotional support, or they do the same for her. They may also help her emotionally deal with her exhaustion.
Winter
What she likes? (Queen of Pentacles rv) Girl, why is this reversed? I don't know; she may like not having her financial independence. She may like having others handle her career for her. That she doesn't have to do it alone and she has others to help her. I don't know if she just isn't good with money or taking care of her own needs. There is a sense of dependence she has, and she is comfortable being taking care of by others. It is like she likes that they take care of everything.
What does she not like? (The Shadow/9 of Swords) The first time I got this card. I was expecting to get this card a lot, and this is now the first time I got it. The shadow card is similar to the Devil card in the regular Tarot deck. So yeah, she doesn't like the trickery, interesting word that popped up. The dark sh**, the negativity, the stress and fears, the sleepless night. The obligations she has. She doesn't like the dark side of this. It can be a very stressful and dark place to work. She doesn't like being restricted and chained to things as well. Lots of obligations she may not like to do.
What has she learned/experienced in the past? (Knight of Swords) Ugh, don't like this energy. Basically, she has to learn to be silent, not speak up for herself. She can't express how she truly feels or defend herself at all. She learned she has to keep things to herself. Ugh, I hate that for her and other idols. It is like sit down and shut up.
Thoughts on fans? (The Sun) Love this, they bring her happiness and joy. They brighten up the dark sides of the industry for her. They give her a reason to enjoy being an idol. She feels seen when she is with the fans. She feels successful and maybe she can be a bit of herself with the fans. She also feels like her inner child comes out with the fans. She enjoys the attention they give to her.
Okay, also likes what she has to say.
NingNing
What she likes? (5 of Wands) She likes the chaos lol She may like the competitive energy. She may have a competitive spirit and likes that about being an idol. She may like different energies coming together. She likes the passion, the aggression and maybe the intensity of being an idol. I am getting she likes the competition and fighting her way to the top. Interesting take here.
What doesn't she like? (The Magician) Makes sense, her inability to show her skills and her full potential. To not say or do the things she wants. She has many talents but cannot showcase it or she is shut down. It is like she has a lot of creative ability, a lot of different things she can do, but can't. It is likes she can do a lot of things. She is multi-talented, but can't show that, or it is suppressed. There is a lack of communication as well.
What has she learned/experienced in the past? (Th Druid) This is like The Hierophant card in the Regular Tarot. She learned to follow orders. That she will be limited in what she can do. That the powers that be hold the power and she follows along. To just listen and do what she is told. She is kind of limited and confined. She also learned that she will be put up against another. I saw this for my Riize reading on this topic, so SM may like to do that, but pretty sure every company does that with their idols. It is like they are taught to always be in competitive mode with one another.
Thoughts on fans? (The World/Knight of Cups) This is cute! She loves her fans all around the world. She would love to meet all her fans. She seems to enjoy the variety of fans she has and would like to learn from them and vice versa. She adores the fans and loves pouring her heart to them. She may express and show a lot of love to them. She opens her heart to them. She may also enjoy giving them loving advice and support and she may feel they do the same.
Okay, this was much better. I agree with the anon that requested this. They are much more open and chattier. I really enjoyed this one.
