Has there been something you've written or drawn that was so funny that you couldn't stop laughing?
And on the contrary, it was very sad and you had to stop to dry your tears?
Probably the funniest thing I've drawn was this
So sad that we'll never get to see Enid and Yoko act like besties. Crazy that the only canon on screen interaction we've seen between them was Enid nagging Yoko over the dang boat they were painting lol
I can't say I've written or drawn anything sad enough to make me cry, but these are the ones that have made me the most emotional when making them
Drawing Vaggie in the many stages of her life was idk how to say it. It made me feel really proud of her? One of the most frustrating claims about her as a character was that she was bland, but I always saw her as one of the few characters in the show that was given the most actual DEPTH. All the reasons people give to hate her is such a disservice to her character's journey. I wanted this piece to show the appreciation she deserves.
These two pages are some of my favorite of my more emotional comics. Just Enid and Vega crying as they turn back to their human form while finding comfort in Wednesday. One of the many parallels I love to put in my art

OMG YIPPIEEIE YOU'RE BACK🎉 you're one of my favorite Lotr blogs ever❤❤❤ hope you're having an absolutely wonderful day❤
You know when there's a short character that's comically strong? Could you do the characters of your choice reacting to a short reader just tossing them over their shoulder like it's nothing? I'd think it'd be a little funny
Thank you very much, nonnie! I hope you’re doing well, too. I picked six characters which I think would be the funniest for your prompt!
Also: I’ve decided to introduce a “humour” tag! And a divider, perhaps? What do you guys think? Anyways, have fun reading!
・゚✧ Boromir.
When you pick him up, Boromir is so stumped he cannot speak. How could a small person like you be so strong? Did you practice dark magic? Have you been bonded to the enemy and only now shown your true colours? It causes him quite a dramatic headache. He would stay up late by the fire to stare into it and question your relationship. Once he realises nothing had changed – you’re still yourself after all, always have been! – he would grin and exhale in relief (but still probably ask you to not do that again).
.
・゚✧ Éomer.
You probably won a bet against Éomer, that’s why he lets you throw him over your small shoulders in the first place. He expects to hate it but actually has a lot of fun being carried around like this. The two of you would often joke about how you could become his horse (or rather: pony) and use your strength to win many bets and free drinks among those who haven’t heard of your power. Additionally, Éomer would invent legendary stories to tell about you at drinking sprees. His fun would only be over when someone would ridicule your height – then it’s time for a brawl.
.
・゚✧ Éowyn.
When you first threw Éowyn over your shoulder, she protested like a dragon, so you let her down again quickly. But as time passes, she grows accustomed to the thought of being carried by someone she loves so deeply – just maybe not over your shoulder, but bridal style through the halls of Edoras. She would also carry you in return, needless to say, though she would often blush when asked about it. But she would always defend you against bigots! Sidenote: Éowyn loves your standing on your tip toes to kiss her ♡
.
・゚✧ Gimli.
You and Gimli vow to never speak of the day when you effortlessly carried him all the way back home over your shoulder. Though it fractures his Dwarven pride, Gimli is impressed with your strength. After all, he was wearing his heavy armour as well as his helmet and axe. Secretly, he would think back fondly to the instance. Still, the principle remains: “No one tosses a Dwarf over their shoulder!”
.
・゚✧ Haldir.
You wouldn’t have carried Haldir all the way back to Lothlórien if it hadn’t been absolutely necessary. But he was unconscious, so you had no choice. Other Elves of your party had volunteered, but you were quicker than anyone else (and also untiring). Every single one of you swore to never speak of this again, though you now do share a great insight joke to rile dear Haldir up more than you already do. Needless to say, he would never suspect you tiny little thing were the main culprit!
.
・゚✧ Legolas.
Being the Elven prince that he is, Legolas likes being carried around by you (and the scandalised faces of other people) so much that he would pretend to be fainting or otherwise stricken so that you would pick him up again. He is very playful about the entire thing, throwing his long arms around your neck and kicking his legs like a damsel in distress. He would also retort to your massive strength to threaten people, should the need arise…

I really want to say this somewhere but honestly, my favorite part of Varigo is that it can really go both ways.
Like they have that soft fluffy thing going for them with that first love energy and it’s absolutely adorable in whatever it’s done with. And very believable.
But then they can also have this side where these two hate each other, but they want to MAKE OUT SO BAD IT HURTS TO WATCH. Like major enemies to lovers vibes and it’s very believable.
Maybe it’s just because Hugo technically never existed but any dynamic that any fanfic or art gives them just MAKES SENCE TO ME.
they are enemies AND lovers……... it is the funniest thing to me tbh i cannot see them being super lovey-dovey all the time after they get together, like its not that they AREN’T sickeningly in love, it’s just that they can flip between that and calling each other ugly whores within 5 seconds and they’re completely unfazed. as funny as it is i personally think it’s because at their core they are both kids who were forced to grow up too fast, and they bring out each others inner child in a way…. cuz like, their rivalry/hatred for each other has never been, in any way, Reasonable or Mature
hugo was suspicious when they met, sure, but i don’t think thats really why varian disliked him- i think that’s just the reason he used to justify it in his head. Really he just thought hugo was cool as fuck and he was really mad about being outshined on HIS coming of age quest. like. HE’S the main character bro. Who does this blonde bitch think he is. Goddamn. /j
and….Hugo was the same way lol. like despite his awful circumstances and all the angst going on in his head he only initially antagonized varian because he was a 19 year old boy and wanted to look cool and act like he knew everything. THEIR WHOLE RIVALRY WAS SO CHILDISH! AND THATS WHATS SO SPECIAL ABOUT IT I FEEL CUZ….NEITHER OF THEM HAVE EVER REALLY HAD THAT BEFORE.
ITS EXACTLY WHAT YOU SAID!! it’s that they’re each others first love…but they are also simultaneously each other’s first best friend and also each other’s first Enemy. Neither of them have REALLY done any of that before like ever. varian had friends but he’s never had friends HIS AGE, yk? its completely new for both of them, each for separate reasons, and because of that they are both acting like stupid fucking 12 year olds about it.
even after they get together i think the core of their dynamic is that….they were kind of each other’s (incredibly belated) childhood best friend. and they will always be best friends first and foremost Yk? they bring out each others inner child. it’s why even when they’ve been married for 40 years they tease each other like theyre two middle schoolers fighting on the school bus over pokemon cards. its why they always know exactly how to make the other laugh or cheer them up after a long day. they know EXACTLY how to push each others buttons but they also know when is too far, which is why they can just say the most vile things to each other without even hesitating because they KNOW they don’t gaf. They share one braincell together but they’re also both genius mad scientists so they COULD take over the world together if they wanted to but they’re too busy playing jenga with glass beakers in their pajamas at 2 pm. Idk. They need to be shot.

The Cycling RPF Rec List
for @wtfanworkclassification
(tagging the blogs of the authors I know!!)
1. Favorite smut: a vocabulary, expanding by @strigimorphaes
It’s almost unfair that I made myself choose only one for each category, but yes, if I must, this is The One Smut for me. To put it mildly, it makes me weak in the knees every time I read it. It must have been like five times by now. To be read with the AC on and a glass of water by your side. Gotta love p*rn with feelings.
2. Favorite multi chapter: Faking It by @goingslightlymads
Am I biased when talking about this fic? Yes, because it was one of my Secret Santa gifts. Do I think I am unfair? Nope, not at all! I’ve never had any other experience in Cycling RPF like when I read (scratch that, binged) this one: it made me laugh and cry and it had my heart racing and had me hugging pillows at 3am. What a ride.
3. Favorite Sci-fi AU: jonas vingegaard goes back to the sea by @bakurasilver
Beautiful and clever. A reflection on the meaning of life and love, undercover as sci-fi. Bawled my eyes out with this one.
4. Favorite Fantasy AU: Fierce Creatures by @inbetweenpages
Great world building, incredibly fun and hot. Come here for wouthieu and stay for mathsper friendship, a very mysterious vampire!Jonas and a sentient house.
5. Favorite fluff: Worth it by @ridingupsaturn
Melancholic fluff. My favorite kind of fluff. Read it about ten times and had my heart fluttering through all of them. Love is kind of awesome, isn’t it?
6. Favorite angst: Drought by booming_business (part 2 of the A Study in Water series)
Shoutout to sad carpenter!Jonas who made a complete wreck out of me. The entire series is excellent, but this fic in particular is a masterpiece on its own! Also foundational exes!tadejonas fic before it was even a thing. Groundbreaking!!
7. Favorite drabble: doing what heroes do by @etapereine
I have two favorite types of drabbles: the one in which you feel like you read an entire story in just 100 words and the one that immediately makes you feel in absolute need of a 50k story as a follow-up because of all the possibilities it introduces you to. This one is definitely the second kind. I really need a full Percy Jackson AU long fic on my desk in, like, a week ago. Olympian demigods at the Olympics maybe??? Someone please???
8. Favorite crack/comedy: The 2024 Paris-Roubaix mass heat incident by Anonymous
Top 5 funniest shit I’ve ever read in my life and I’m not even exaggerating.
9. Favorite non-cyclists AU: all hearts in love use their own tongues by @thedeadparrot
I’m sorry, I’m not really a well-studied person when it comes to English literature. This is the only way I could ever read Shakespeare. I regret nothing.
10. Favorite remix/fix-it: Unbelievable, or only in Gotham by Lili_Writes_Banhof
Yes I’m parcial yes of course I am biased because it’s fixing one of my fics, but I don’t care. It’s cute, it’s fun, it’s fluffy (like all the awesome works from this author), you should all immediately go read it!
11. Favorite Soulmate AU: All your life by @interdisciplinary-disaster
I never once had given any thoughts about geese before this fic. Also this is the only cycling fic where the main character is not one of the cyclists, but an adorably exhausted old goose (at least the way I see it, because frankly, what a scene stealer). It changed my core!!
12. Favorite rarepair: Jonas is the boss by @mundanememory
Because ok, now everyone loves Jonas/Matteo but back in April it was a rarepair!! And this fic is awesome and hot and clever and features little big boss being… erm, well treated by a lovable giant ginger, so it deserves a million recs!
#cycling rpf#not here for the maillot scintillement it’s way too far out of reach#i just think these fics need to be read. period.

top 10 ds9 fan fics you've written, ranked?
Oooh, tough question, friend! I don't even know what the criteria for this would be, because the most AO3 popular ones are not always my favorites... Okay, you know what, here we go. I'm just going to go for it and make some decisions. I'm giving myself a rule, though, that I can only chose one from a series, so I'm not just listing everything in the Terok Nor AU. I'll also try to hit different kinds of fics I've written.
10.) After the End of the World: A Survey of Seminal Works of Cardassian Post-Apocalyptic Literature from cross-posted to tumblr. 533 words, "An examination of the Cardassian post-apocalyptic literary genre before and after the Dominion War." This isn't my most popular or my best written but it's one of my favorites; I like in-world diegetic texts and worldbuilding and I'm obsessed with the idea of post-canon Cardassia as post-apocalypse.
9.) Never Have I Ever from The Game Is Afoot, 1,294 words, T, "Julian introduces Garak to the human game never have I ever." This was fun to write and is fun to reread every time! I often spend a lot of fic space on angst and identity and all the reasons why it's a bad idea for Julian and Garak to get together, but in this one we just get to spend time seeing them be clever and enjoy each other's company.
8.) Tribbles, Togetherness, and the Great River, 1,742 words, G, "In their shared quarters, Nog and Jake discuss tribbles, pets, and telling their families about their relationship." This is my only full standalone Jake/Nog fic, and it's another that was a pleasure to write and still makes me smile. It's fun to spend a sweet moment with two young people figuring out how they fit together.
7.) Del Floria's Tailor Shop, 336 words, also known as the space tumblr one. I think this is possibly the funniest thing I've ever written.
6.) Push Me Til I Break, 4,653 words, M, also known as the one where Garak interrogates Julian, and the role play goes wrong. Maybe the most tense thing I've ever written, and really leans into the ways in which two deeply hurting people can choose to hurt or hold.
5.) Growth, 45,843 words, T, "Julian and Garak grapple with their pasts and their feelings for each other at the end of the series." My super long post-canon Cardassia fic, back when I had no idea how to string a multi-chapter idea together. There's a lot I would change if I wrote this now (I've grown as a writer in many ways, including my ability to have scene transitions), but some of the conversations and moments in here are still absolute favorites of mine, particularly around ideas of self-forgiveness, the clash between values and actions, and the importance of choice.
4.) Predetermination, 22,200 words, T, Mirror Bashir arrives at the station and suddenly the nature/nurture debate has never had higher stakes. This is one of the places I think I've been most successful in using sci fi to ask big questions that hopefully resonate in the modern day, about who we are and how we become. Also, the ending takes inspiration from one of my favorite TNG episodes, and that was cool too.
3.) Especially the Lies, 13,019 words, T, "Something is going on with Garak, and no one knows what, except for possibly Julian Bashir." This is my only archive-warning-applied fic and it was really important to me to tell a story about care, for a character who I think doesn't believe he's allowed to have any, in a real world circumstance that too often people have to go through alone.
2.) Necessary Storms, 15,149 words, T, Julian and Starfleet Spouse Garak get entangled in Trill politics. I feel like this is one of the things I've written that most feels like it could be an episode of Star Trek, and is also a fairly unsubtle (though initially unintentional) way to explore populism, demagoguery, resource distribution, and revolt at a very particular moment in national politics with the aesthetic distance that sci fi offers.
1.) Old Friends: An Enigma Tale from Terok Nor AU. I'm exceedingly proud of this whole series, which started as just "what can I do with the idea of dabo boy Julian" and has turned into a sweeping journey covering how Terok Nor becomes Deep Space 9. This most recent installment is perhaps not indicative of the series as a whole, but it was a lot of fun to write and is also a dip into my other favorite genre aside from sci fi (murder mystery).
#my writing#confess nothing is statistically my most popular fic but i don't think it's my most interesting#almost made the list are made to measure and son of tain#also none of my fairy tale things are on here but i think i have lots of interesting ideas in those as well#if you have a fic that is your personal top of what i've written i'd love to hear about it!

This is from this ask game. Feel free to send more!
5) Share one of your strengths.
I have a hard time doing this since I’m not always the most confident writer in the world, but I think I’m really good at mixing philosophy with writing. One of my favorite things to do is explore characters’ belief systems and their morals, what they view as right and good and natural, and I think I’ve gotten good at portraying that through writing. Specifically I think I’ve gotten really good at writing about Mulder’s self-sacrificial complex, and I’m also proud of how I wrote Scully’s relationship with miracles in Caught on Tape and her views on the symbiotic nature of her and Mulder’s partnership in Piece Me Together.
28) Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.
Only three?!?! This fandom has so so many talented writers! But I’ll try.
@california-112 just finished their October ficlet series, and I highly recommend checking it out. They’re fantastic at all genres, but I especially love all of their hurt/comfort oneshots and there are PLENTY to be found! They’re so multitalented, you’ll find something in the series for everyone. I’ll link it here.
@baronessblixen is a staple in this fandom, so I’m sure I don’t need to explain, but I call her the queen of fluff for a reason. I cannot write fluff at all, so every time I read her work I am in awe of how she’s able to make me feel so good and floaty without being over the top or saccharine. She’s also hilarious! And though she dabbles less in angst, the few fics I’ve read where she has have been fantastic!
Here’s two of my favorites by her.
Finally we have @thursdayinspace who needs no introduction. From angst to fluff, there’s nothing they can’t write, and reading one of their fics is a guaranteed good experience. These are the fics I will remember for weeks to come and reread over and over again. I can’t speak to any of their explicit stuff bc that’s not my thing personally, but I know it’s pretty beloved in the fandom, so do check it out if it’s your thing!
Here’s a few of my favorites but I recommend all of their stuff!
And even though she’s on a TXF hiatus right now, shout-out to @theswisscheeserag ! My favorite mutual beta reader who never fails to make me laugh. She is actually the funniest writer ever but her stuff is also deeply poignant. All of her stuff is fantastic, but Redial will always be one of my favorites.
30) Do you accept prompts?
ALWAYS! What I do NOT accept are time-sensitive prompts because I am a busy college student and will not make promises I don’t know I can keep. HOWEVER I absolutely adore getting prompts and if you send me a prompt it will absolutely make my day always and forever.
38) Talk about a review that made your day.
Every review makes my day! The fact that people are actually reading my work shocks me daily (in the best way).
But @emmiebea left a comment on Raise Your Voices that really made my day, because they said that they actually follow the folk music links I include with each chapter and have been enjoying them. That just made me SO happy because it means that at least one person knows more folk music than they did before because of what I wrote, and that just makes me over the moon🌙
Seriously though. I love all of you❤️

This was so random, the 1980s ElfQuest board game popped up on Facebook marketplace - in New Zealand with local delivery by hand 🚚😲
I’m a gamer, but I hadn’t had my eye on this fairly rare collectible, since games with great IP are often not all that fun. But you know what? I tried it and had a great time with my teens! No whining, I’m amazed 😂
Full review below…
The even cooler thing is that it’s actually two games in one. The “introductory” version is an abstract tile exploration and clue gathering mission, themed on the Original Quest reuniting the elf tribes with their Palace (actually spaceship, shhh). Play takes an hour, tops.
This strongly reminded me of my favorite board game when I was a kid - Enchanted Forest - because the overall idea is to find the tiles with hidden clues on them, and be the first to guess which one has been set aside at the beginning.
The additional element in ElfQuest is that you have to explore to find the clues, then also find the location of the tile that matches the winning clue. You can’t guess without traveling to the secret location first, and a wrong guess means you lose! There’s definitely strategy in addition to minor memorizing. I think this fits the quest story well.
Each player represents a different tribe, and starts in their home location at one corner (The Holt, Sorrow’s End, Blue Mountain, and the Frozen Mountains). There’s a minor amount of combat in the introductory game, when pawns occupy the same spot.
This is a potential tense moment here, with all three of us gathered next to two clue tiles (the wooden clue tokens are my own replacement parts). But you can easily spend the whole game avoiding confrontation and still win.
Combat just means the attacker must roll an 8 or better on 2D6. The loser is pushed away two spaces. This can be important at the end, because once a player has seen all the clues, others might race towards whatever tile they appear to be targeting as the winning spot.
I was super lucky that the Palace (elf home) was right next to the last clue, because my 15 year old was hot on my heels and willing to risk a 50/50 guess. Go Backs for the win!!
I’m excited to play the full game, for several reasons:
1. You have the option of winning cooperatively or competitively, and this can change during the course of the game. This fits the ElfQuest story much better than pure competition. Games with optional alliances aren't super common.
2. Character cards! Of course the point of having a great IP is to use the wonderful characters and art. The full game has a lot of bonus cards, characters can change groups or be captured, and tribal abilities are asymmetrical (that is to say, your choice of tribe actually matters to gameplay).
3. Way more strategy! One player is the enemy Guttlekraw, who controls the trolls and races to finish a dome around the palace so the elves can't win.
Reviews said this game is complicated, but it really doesn’t look that complicated to me. If you’re not much of a gamer, then sure, but the rules were not very long and easy enough to understand.
Here’s all the components in the box. Only three cardboard counters were missing in mine, easily replaced with spare parts (more on that next time). It even still has the Mayfair Games feedback postcard and the pop out cardboard trash for all the sending star tokens 😜✨🚮
The funniest part is the fold out paper grid... seems unnecessary, but ok.
Essentially what the introductory game teaches you is how exploration works, which is actually mildly educational for younger kids. Each terrain has a different number printed on it, and you only get 14 movement points per turn. So there's a little bit of addition involved. I'd say kids from age 7ish could play independently, depending on whether they're prone to blurt out secret information and intentions :-)
That's all for this time! My kids actually want to play the full game soon, so hopefully it won't be too long until I review the rest. Shade and sweet water until then.
#elfquest#board game review#my kids actually liked something#i only had to buy them boba tea#and craft supplies#but actual fun was haf

Thanks for the tags @wyked-ao3 and @inkednotebook!
Character Profile Tag
Because I've been working on two big report chapters recently and I miss him, let's do Anarac!
Full name: Anarac Fifth-Blood
Age: He died at 32, but existed for about ~7000 years after that, so I'm not sure how you'd count that
Gender: Cis man
Type of Being: Araunian
Appearance: A tall, gaunt man with berry-red skin, amber-brown eyes surrounded by dark circles, ears that come to a rounded point, and shoulder-length blonde hair usually pulled into a slightly unkempt ponytail. He looks older than 32 by a good bit. A wound encircles his throat, and though his head stays on, it's easy to infer he died by beheading. He wears a tunic of ancient make with some bits of light armor on his chest, forearms, and shins.
Way of speaking: Not much at all. Anarac rarely speaks more than a few words at a time. His voice is deeply strained and rusty with disuse. Without the enchantment that allows the crew of the Starbreaker to understand each other with clarity, his Janazi dialect is very antiqued.
Physical characteristics: Dude has top-tier crazy eyes. That's probably what an outside observer would notice the most. Anarac switches between looking through most things and focusing with an incredible intensity. Also, the way he moves is pretty jerky and uncoordinated, almost like he's not used to having a body to move.
Occupation: Even the dead (or these dead, at least) have to work, so he's the R.S. Starbreaker's onboard End expert.
Family: In life, he had two sons, Finlay and Baerdyn. The last time he saw them, they were thirteen and ten. He was never close with his parents. He also had an ex-wife named Eabain who never paid her fantasy child support.
Best friend: I wouldn't describe the crew of the Starbreaker as his best friends yet, but Izjik has earned that title. They haven't seen each other in a long time, since he's dead and all, yet he still considers her a pal.
Pets: None currently.
Relationships: The crew of the Starbreaker is who he's been interacting with lately. In his mind, he sees Faalgun as a responsible leader who frequently bites off more than he can chew, Nyda as easily the funniest person he's ever met, Kaulakri as a stuffy science type who's also the actual hand behind keeping the mission on track, and Pash as a misguided kid who someone really should've taught better manners to.
Describe their room: None of the ghost crew got rooms when the ship was constructed because they don't technically need them. They've carved out their own places, though, so Anarac's 'room' is a private corner between a supply crate and the wall. It's dark, with a little slit he can watch the cargo hold through. There aren't really any decorations, but he does work on sample sorting in there, so there are usually a few stacks of preservation boxes.
Items in their bag/purse/pockets: Honestly, nothing.
Hobbies: People-watching is a big one. He sort of remembers that he liked to cook in life, but he hasn't had the chance to try that out again yet.
Favorite sport: Another thing he remembers enjoying in life is dancing. Dance was a big part of communal Araunian culture, so he would've gotten a lot of practice in life. Maybe he'll work up the courage to try again someday.
Abilities/talents/powers: Anarac has been dead for long enough that, while he can feel pain on an abstract level, his brain has lost the need to perceive it as dangerous, so it doesn't actually 'hurt' him. Also, give him a situation where he has no choice, and my boy can kick some ass in a fight.
Fears: Everything? Ok, I'm only kinda kidding there, but Anarac is extremely skittish around any overwhelming sensations, since he hasn't had a body for 7000 years. He's scared of people because he still has the initial instinct that End is going to take control and make him kill them. He scared of the stars especially, because of End again.
Faults: His fear. It keeps him from reaching out or beginning to heal. Also, a bit of a minor one, but after being part of a hive mind, his sense of boundaries is a little eroded. He will 100% watch you sleep because what is that compared to watching you think?
Good points: Under all the fear and general creepiness, he has a heart of gold. Anarac does his best to protect and guide the people he cares about, albeit in his own way. Those dad instincts are very much present. He also has a genuine curiosity about new people and new ways of doing things.
What they want more than anything else: To find the lost Araunian afterlife and apologize to his sons.
I'll tag @mk-writes-stuff @kaylinalexanderbooks @astor-and-the-endless-ink @drchenquill @cain-e-brookman and anyone else who wants in :)

HIIII Y'ALL!!!!!!! this is honestly very insane to me but i recently hit 1k on here, so i just wanted to say thank you all for being here and joining me on this fun ride over the past two years since i made this blog. i feel like i've joined the hsmtmts/specifically rina fandom three separate ways/times and i've always been able to easily find my niche of people, which really speaks to how open and wonderful this community as a whole is. this third time around was no exception, this little subsection of some of the nicest, funniest, smartest, most talented, most supportive people ever means the world to me, so thank you all for following and partaking in all of the fun that was this rollercoaster of a show, and thank you for supporting my relentless content creation bc i am most definitely not stopping anytime soon skdjfks 😭 this milestone perfectly coincided with the show's ending since i hit it on the day of s4's release, so i thought it would be fun to celebrate both my little milestone & the ending of our beloved show (and our many major wins) with you all, the lovely people that have made this time with the show as wonderful as it was! this show, these characters, and you all hold a very special place in my heart, so. let's celebrate it all!!

Top five miraculous episodes?
OOO alright alright!
Emotion. Not a huge shock to anyone who has witnessed me yap way too much about it but I’ll do it again and that’s a THREAT. I just love seeing the full spectrum of emotions (ha!) from Félix. He was already an interesting character to me from episodes like Gabriel Agreste and Strike Back but this episode bumped him up to number one and changed my life forever. RIP to Red Moon, my favorite senti, you are a tragedy </3.
Risk/Strike Back. Because they’re a two-parter, I’m counting them as one but these episodes were so GOOD. The Tension. The Twists. The ending completely changing the game for how things would be in Season 5. Also Flairmidable just, in general.
Gabriel Agreste. I know, shocker that the Félix Enjoyer’s top five episodes has three Félix-centered ones but this one was just so GOOD. It was very satisfying to see someone oppose Gabriel specifically. ALSO the subplot of Marinette pretending to be a terrible waiter and all the cute art of Knight Marinette and Princess Adrien? That is EVERYTHING!
Heroes Day/Mayura. I LOVED these episodes when they came out. The first time Full Hero Team fought together? The bits of banter when they’re all fighting together? Having to fight SO many villains in the first place? The reveal of what the Peacock did and Mayura in general? It’s all so GOOD!! Also there’s a sweet moment at the end!!
Passion. Not only is it a Kwami Swap episode but it’s also got one of THE most attractive Akumas, Safari, and hooooly shit is it a good episode. I’m have a great time all around. Also the reason for switching is pretty clever, especially on Adrien’s part! Just all around good things to say here.
Honorable Mentions To:
The Origins, because I love seeing how they started out, and of COURSE the umbrella scene.
Pretension, for Félix and Kagami alone, but also some genuinely clever moves from Félix!
Representation, not just for Holy Shit Backstory but ALSO, Adrien fighting his dad like he deserves to.
Sandboy, because I love the ‘Face Physical Manifestations Of Your Fears’ trope and all the kwamis interacting AND “Plagg? Nooo they turned you into a sock!”
Chat Blanc, for Chat Blanc.
Ikari Gozen, for making Kagami one of my favorite characters on the spot, and also the start of my love for Marigami.
Wishmaker, for having the BIGGEST GLOW UP for a character I didn’t care about until this episode.
Psycomedian, for being probably one of the funniest episodes.
And probably a bunch of others because I kept looking at episodes and being like, “Oh, I liked this one! And this one! Anddd this one!” And the honorable mentions are TOO LONG NOW so I’m cutting myself off.
Thank you so much for the asks!! I’ve been thoroughly reminded all of the parts I love about this silly show <33
(Send me an ask for a top five of something and I’ll do it!)
#SB Speaks#Top Five Ask Game#miraculous ladybug#Do I tag Felix here? I did talk about him a lot#yeah fuck it#more people need to talk about Felix anyways#felix graham de vanily#felix fathom#Thanks again for the asks!!!

Most Popular Post: Happy New Years with 12,876 notes
Favorite Post: Definitely my Keystone post. Not only is probably one of the biggest things I have ever written and had a lot of effort go into it, but it was actually kind of fun revisiting the arcs and figuring out how I felt about them. The D&D one was pretty fun though.
Least Favorite Post: While I don't dislike What’s This-All For One Edition: A Christmas Parody, there were a lot of annoyances around it. Not only was this kind of a pain to write, especially with such a fast song, the scheduling made it come out over a month late.
Funniest Moment: As much as I liked the wrestling commentary and joking about Aoyama's attack, I really liked the Pro Hero Parent Tier List. I think the concept itself was funny and had some jokes sprinkled throughout while still being offset by the actual analysis of these character.
Best Moment in the Manga: Izuku vs Tomura:
I hesitated to include this since it's still going on, but I couldn't deny how good everything has been between these two. I'm really enjoying a lot of the interactions and tactics on display between them, especially in the shared realm where it feels like these two can finally just talk to and understand each other.
Runners Up:
All Might vs All For One: For what sounds like a terrible idea on paper was honestly pretty amazing. It gives lot a of great moments and resolution with Toshinori and his character, all while giving one of the most unique fights in the series.
Toga vs Ochako: The dark horse of this arc. I did not expect the whole part to be this good and actually handled everything with a lot of tact and nuance. Plus, Ochako is finally getting some deserved recognition by the fan base, which is nice.
Worst Moment in the Manga: Stain's Death
Man, what a waste. For one of the most popular villains in the series, the guy that helped define the manga both in and out of universe, having him die without any further impact on the fight or story was such a terrible move. We can only hope that there is some justice for Stain before the series ends.
Runners Up:
Aoyama's Blast: I don't out and out hate this moment, but it does feel like a rushed after thought. It was barely built up to or shown, Aoyama Awakening his power comes out of nowhere, and Hagakure's appearance does feels extremely convenient.
"Decay" coming from "Overhaul": It could be that the wound is still fresh from this, but tying those two Quirks together raises so many questions and issues in the series. It felt like a pretty pointless addition that only caused issues.
Best Moment in the Anime:
Runners Up:
Worst Moment in the Anime:
Runners Up:
Once again, I have skipped out on this season. I haven’t been interested in picking it back up. Heck, I haven't even heard anyone say anything about it. Again, sorry if any of you were curious.
How would I summarize the year: I feel like things are starting to take a turn for the better.
What I would do differently: I really should close the ask box more often.
Thank you all for such a good year. Hopefully the next year will be better.

episode 2 time yippeeee :3
i dunno if it was on purpose or if it was just an error on makayla’s part but hera pronouncing minkowski incorrectly is so silly to me. it’s the only time she does that in the whole podcast and it could be seen as her emulating eiffel because they’ve started to get along and then minkowski tearing into her for it so it doesn’t happen again or it could just be a mistake but. it’s silly.
eiffel is so incredibly monotone in these early episodes compared to the amount of personality his voice is known to have, ESPECIALLY during his announcement to the rest of the station. obviously a lot of it is just zach growing into the character and the voice but i also like to think that losing that monotonality is symbolic of him growing out of his more,,, nihilistic? i wanna say? approach to the whole situation as time goes on
i’d let minkowski throw me in the brig. the way she talks in this episode? i’m. god i love angry women
tiny detail but i love his delivery on “can you explain to these LOSERS—” he’s so unserious i love him
i NEED to know what was going through gabriel’s head when he made minkowski call him doug. i’ll probably have a definitive answer on this further into the relisten but i can’t tell if it’s her just being casual and trying to appeal to him as,, almost a friend? or if it’s a bitter thing, like how she refused to call lovelace “sir” until she had earned it. i’ll definitely have more to say on that later, but for now. hm
i would also like to know how many eiffel protocols there were, and for what scenarios minkowski could have possibly come up with him doing in order to make them—
I. HATE. THE LITTLE RADIO STATIC SOUND EFFECT THEY USE AS A TRANSITION IN THESE EARLY EPISODES. ITS LOUD, ITS UNNECESSARY, AND IT SCARES THE SHIT OUT OF ME I THANK GOD EVERY DAY THEY DID AWAY WITH IT
something something “could there be pain” something something masochism something something homosexual
SPEAKING OF PAIN. HILBERT SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT VAPORIZED BROMINE??? DO YALL KNOW HOW FUCKING PAINFUL IT IS WHEN BROMINE MAKES CONTACT WITH SKIN??? A LITTLE BIT OF PAIN MY ASS THAT SHIT CAN CAUSE PERMANENT SKIN LOSS
also?? i never realized that the fucking. klaxon thing that blares??? was specifically to prevent him from sleeping. that wasn’t a warning because the room was so cold, it was a method of sleep deprivation, that’s fucked up my god fhdbdb
another one of my favorite deliveries is “i THOUGHT i smelled MOLASSES. but then i DIDN’T get knocked out, so i dunno what THAT was about 😀”
i will never, EVER get over “when in doubt, whip it out” that’s the funniest thing gabriel has ever done /j
also there’s something about the way that eiffel pronounces minkowski’s name wrong when talking to or about her, but still has enough respect to call her “commander” half the time. it’s kind of a proof that he isn’t doing it maliciously, it’s simply a bit of banter that he thought was a joke between the two. but that also makes it more heartbreaking because he genuinely just. doesn’t realize the harm he’s doing. and refuses to listen every time she tries to bring it up.
the way that eiffel is so concerned over brushing his teeth this whole time when this motherfucker won’t even shower. like. your priorities are all over the place babygirl
BUT, speaking of that. i definitely don’t think it’s just about brushing his teeth. i’ve seen a lot of things about like. how ridiculous it is that he would go through all of that just for toothpaste? but listen. nothing in eiffel’s life up until this point had been something he’d had a choice in, at least not since the accident. even going on this MISSION wasn’t really a choice, when you consider the alternative was twenty-something years in prison as opposed to only a couple in space. being in charge of this situation, as dumb as it may sound, was the only thing left for him to BE in charge of. he finally had a SAY in something, and he was willing to go without sleep for over twenty four hours, live in minus forty degrees, starve for hours on end, and be entirely isolated just to make sure he could keep it that way, if just for a few more hours. and that’s devastating to me
this one is long as HELL but every time i listen to this thing i find more stuff i can connect in terms of later plot points and it’s so maddening that gabriel admitted to having no idea where he wanted to go at this point because he ended up tying it together SO WELL.

atcually im sending more characters i wanna see u talk abt them tell me abt stan or fiddleford or bill for the ask game
OKOK I JUST ANSWERED FOR FIDDLEFORD OKOKOKOKOKOKOK im so excited i love them. okok ok OK OK ok so from this ask game:
STAN
favorite thing about them
How he loves the kids soso much ouhho vh oh o my ghod Not What He Seems tear my heart out rn. like theyre his world its so... ouhgkhjhbjh........ makes me ill. the way he loves his family as a whole is SO important to me like like like like he values his family so much theyre his world the way he spent 30 years getting ford back GOD dont remind me of of the portal incident i cant hhhrrrr
least favorite thing about them
I suppose how stubborn he is with Ford but like, idk i get it man. hes been thro alot and the two are on rocky ground up until the end so ofc hes gonna act like that and hes not gonna be all that emotionally mature about it.
favorite line
goddd he has so many good lines hes so funny. "Soos, would it be wrong to punch a child?"
brOTP
fiddleford mcgucket i need them to be friends u dont understand. i need this so badly
OTP
ermmm No One ? ive seen some stanbill which i find funny but im not all that invested in it
nOTP
pinecest 👍
random headcanon
As kids he and Ford would often do the twin switcharoo as a fun kid prank, they thought it was the funniest coolest thing but they were actually very easy to tell apart past a first glance because they weren't all that good at lying and pretending (yet)
unpopular opinion
ig its only loosely stan related but roadside attraction should NOT have been aa episode with focus on stan WHERE IS FORD. THE EPISODE BEFORE THE BIG ONE THAT KICKS OFF WEIRDMAGEDDON AND THERES NO FORD!?!?!? kmsing kmsing but you already know how ifeel about it i told you all about it I Miss Ford. I miss my wife tails.
song i associate with them
LUSH BY MINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE "everything i touch falls apart and i am left with nothingg everything i touch it turns to total garbage and i cant with and i dont know whyyyy!!!!" like like his insecurity about being the total screwup of the family, his many many failed businesses, the fact he broke fords project and also ended up pushing him into the portal, juistghfhbvhjhbb
favorite picture of them
i like him with his sailing outfit esp the the beanie its cute :3 and EEEE THE BROTHERSSSS <333333
BILL
favorite thing about them
whatever the fuck he has going on ford jesus christ what the fuck who let them get away twith this hello. hello. i cant elaborate cuz id just end up talking about billford forever but fjesuffucking christ
least favorite thing about them
Honestly sock opera didn't make much sense, like he wanted to destroy the laptop and journal cuz dipper was getting "too close", but the journal was needed to operate the portal which was what he Needed and Wanted. my best guess as to why he did that is cuz he didn't want them to find and go off the warnings Ford wrote esp in invisible ink but i dunno. perhaps its that the journals (esp journal 3) wrote of a way to destroy him, im guessing, since ford tosses them to dipper in weirdmageddon saying theres a way to destroy bill, but still. odd. Still my favourite episode tho!!!!
favorite line
"Fordsy, nobody else really gets you, do they? Without me, you'll always feel unseen, surrounded by dolts who don't recognize your full potential. You've always felt alone in a crowd, haven't you? Who else will give you this feeling again? Even if you got rid of me, you'd miss me. Admit it, you'd miss me."
"Reality is an illusion the universe is a hologram buy gold BYEEEEE"
"BY THE WAY IM SENDING SOMEONE TO STEAL YOUR EYES. THATS NOT A JOKE. I HAVE A FRIEND WHO WILL STEAL YOUR EYES."
"I have some children I need to TURN INTO CORPSES"
also. just his "Yello!" gag in the dreamscaperers. its so sutpid i love it
honestly UGHH hes so quotable i love like every one of his lines everytime hes on screen its a joy. any episode is a good episode with bill. hes such a good villain
brOTP
None reaally? I guess I would've loved more antics with the henchmaniacs, like that one deleted scene, I found them pretty funny
OTP
BILLFORD DO UE VEN HAVE TO ASK HHHHHGHH
nOTP
None I think, i guess fiddleford and bill but i said that already and tbh im mostly indifferent to it
random headcanon
iii havent fully cvuaght up on all the code and lore cracking of TBOB but from what ive picked up he had to take medicine as a kid which affected his eyesight? so my hc is that he has some lasting damage with his vision from that
unpopular opinion
yes the book of bill gave us bill euclydia dimension lore but no that doesnt ruin his character sure his backstory is sad but like. its not his focal point. it gives him depth and an explanation its GOOD. hes still the villain whos evil because! who does whatever he wants! for fun! a sad backstory and a charming villain whos motivation is Fun can coexist its not the end of the world
also this is directed at like One thing i saw on twt but He Would Fucking Not listen to msi oh my god he canonically hates synthesized music i hate you
song i associate with them
GOD i have a few ermm.... theyre like billford related tho so. hope thats cool. the one ive been obsessed with is New Invention by I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME its SO GFUCKING THEM DUDE ITS SO THEM LISTEN TO IT. NOW!!!!!!!!!!!! pls
favorite picture of them
every picture but ig if i had to choose him playing faggot piano for ford is up there

I would love to hear your thoughts on Nosk if you ever got the time to erite about it. Your artwork of it was a delight; I loved Ghost being lit up in orange. 10/10 lighting!
First of all - THANK YOU SM FOR THE COMPLIMENTS!! I haven't tried shading like this in. Months, like I said
Second of all
WELCOME TO MY PRESENTATION
(Also thanks for the excuse to draw my Vessel sona)
Don't get me wrong I don't hate Nosk, they're one of my favorite characters in Hollow Knight and media in general. I absolutely adore the concept behind them and the SUSPENSE through those tunnels leading to the big reveal still remains one of my favorite scenes to come back to in HK. The design and concept behind them is very neat and the overall feeling of that first time you enter the arena and see that cutscene is just. Wonderful.
That said, my issues are all about the actual fight. Specifically the attacks.
Nosk has arguably one of the most interesting buildups to a fight in HK, and is in one of the most creepy areas of the game, considering the arena and atmosphere of the fight too, I was expecting this to be a hard boss. I was expecting really difficult and potentially creepy attacks. The OST is one of the most anxiety inducing tracks in the game. Yet the entire fight just amounts to them.. running around? Occasionally jumping onto the ceiling? It feels like a rip off.
Nosk literally only has three attacks and they're all easy to dodge/cheese, if they were just small parts of the fight, it'd be fine, but instead 50% of the fight is just Nosk running across the arena, which is easy to dodge with or without the use of hiding under the platform(still one of the funniest ways to cheese a fight honestly).
Nosk has a bunch of hanging CORPSES in their den, so I thought that maybe they'd have a close up attack where if you got too close it'd trigger them swiping close range, kind of like this:
Extremely low budget explanation but STILL
The attack with screaming and the infection getting everywhere? NICE! Nosk on the ceiling shooting orange juice at you? GREAT! But the fact those are basically the only two good attacks in this fight with THREE really just. It weighs it down for me man.
By this point in the game(I mean I had to Google where Nosk was since I only saw art of them on my first playthrough since they're hidden), plenty of bosses had phases, too. I feel like the fight could've easily been more anxiety inducing if they had a few phases.
For example:
Phase one - same as current fight + close range attack
Phase two - running attack happens less, potential variations of other attacks, speed up things a bit
Phase three - more orange juice, maybe webs(since that's how the other creatures in the background appear to be captured), could potentially do some jumping version of the running attack(like jumping around the arena aggressively making them harder to do damage to without being hit)?
I'm obviously not a game designer, but I do like rambling about things and potential ideas that could happen to make things better.
The Nosk fight on its own isn't even terrible, it's just the fact that it doesn't live up to the buildup of the way to the fight and the cutscene in the beginning, let alone the absolute panic the OST makes me feel.
Oh and don't even get me STARTED on Winged Nosk. HOW DO YOU MAKE SOMETHING LESS TERRIFYING BY ADDING WINGS IM IN GENUINE SHOCK
I know I probably repeated myself a lot and this is very scattered, but I hope that you somehow enjoyed seeing me ramble aggressively about a fight in a silly bug game that I think has issues anyway.
In conclusion Nosk has an amazing concept, design, OST, atmosphere, and some alright attacks, but really could've benefitted from some more attacks/phases.
I wrote more about this fight than I did for my English essay on Thursday so I don't know what that says about me but do with that what you will

I always enjoyed reading LO, though as of late I've gotten more critical of it and aware of the flaws in storytelling, art, pacing, etc (one can still like trash while recognizing it's trash, I guess), and it's been super weird being the only one in my friend group who's not seeing it as this perfect flawless comic anymore. Your retelling so far has been super refreshing and a joy to read, the art and character design is recognizable yet distinct and great on its own (I LOVE YOUR DIONYSUS SO MUCH HOLY CRAP HE'S SO GOOD), and like... I'm interested in where things are going! It's fun reading this! I still do enjoy LO (maybe it's the sunk cost fallacy, idk), but I'm invested in your version so much more now. So thank you for your work, it's really great :)
I know the story is focused more on H&P than the mostly cast of side characters, but are there any other myths that might get revisited as well? Eros/Psyche, maybe Ariadne since Dio is here...?
Absolutely, I say it a lot when the topic of "LO stans vs. LO critics" comes up but none of the criticism is meant to be persuasive debating, while it can be frustrating to voice our criticisms and be met with "yeah well that's just your opinion", we're also not criticizing the comic purely to convince you that it's trash, we're legit just engaging with the comic in our own way. The best way any LO fan can react to it is either to acknowledge the criticisms and move on, or not go out actively seeking the criticism in the first place if it's something that bugs them. But in the end, no one is talking about the comic in this way as a means to strong arm people into riffing on LO, we'll still be talking about it way past everyone's bedtimes regardless of whether or not you chime in and/or agree. I think a lot of people who enjoy LO have a hard time separating those two things because they love the comic so much that any criticism is automatically flagged as "they're trying to make a hater out of me". And yeah, maybe we are a little bit (because it's fun to riff on this comic and the crit community has genuinely some of the nicest and funniest and most creative people I've ever met) but for the most part it's not our goal to make you hate the comic, we can't take your enjoyment of it away from you, even if you do recognize its flaws yourself. By all means, enjoy LO if you want to, we won't try and tell you not to! Just don't think that gives you permission to tell the critics to stop criticizing because that's a double standard we just ain't gonna stand for LMAO
All that aside, I'm glad you're enjoying Rekindled! As for the other stories, I'm trying to reel in Rekindled's plot to focus solely on H x P because I feel like that's what it should have stayed as. One of Rachel's biggest mistakes IMO was when she stated she "wanted to include as many myths as possible" because it's clear it's resulted in her prioritizing low effort Google-level lip service and Marvel-esque nostalgia referencing over telling an actual cohesive story. I'm taking a lot of the additional myths that Rachel tried to do in LO and leaving them on the cutting room floor, but when Rekindled is done, I'm hoping to pick up what was discarded and do them as little side stories after the fact. I feel like that's the best way to do it especially considering so many of the myths Rachel included didn't happen until after Hades and Persephone were married (including Eros and Psyche). I'd especially love to tackle Orpheus and Eurydice, it's one of my favorite myths :) Dio x Ariadne is also one I'm hoping to tackle, though that one I'll probably work more into Rekindled itself as Dio plays a huge role in Persephone's character arc, we'll see !
