Invisible
This is a SAD story with no heartwarming happy end or moment of redemption. It's the middle of the night and I feel depressed, so why not write some sad fiction
You've loved Sanji for a while, but he doesn't even see you. When Nami asks to switch bodies for a day, you experience his devotion for a short while - before going back to being invisible for him
Part 2
Part 3 is actually a choose your own adventure type!
Part 3.1: Zoro or Sanji?
Part 3.2: Law or Sanji?
Also check out my stories and headcanon masterlists
You weren't sure what she was planning, but Nami assured you that it was of the utmost importance that she borrow your body for a day. She also swore by her mother's trees that it wasn't anything illegal. And also all the money you owed her would be forgotten - so it seemed overall like an acceptable deal.
She somehow blackmailed your crews ally Trafalgar Law into this to make the switch. So when you anchored at an amusement island full of casinos and shopping opportunities, you found yourself in the thin, busty, long legged body of hers.
You looked down at her - in your body - and couldn't help but frown at the small, mousy girl looking up at you with Nami's glint in her eyes.
"Thanks Y/n, take good care of my body. See you tonight!" She saluted you and sprinted off the ship with determination.
Unsure what to do, you wobbled to Nami's closet on your much to long legs that were in much too high heels. Hopefully she had something like a shirt, you felt naked in her Jeans and Bikini Top combo.
Eventually, you found a simple shirt with a round neck and some flats and felt more like yourself immediately.
Getting out into the sun, you enjoyed the feeling of a cool breeze playing with her long hair and sighed.
"Oh Nami-swaaaaan how wonderful to see you this morning! I made extra tasty breakfast for you todaaayyyy!" Sanji screamed with his usual slurred voice. It took you a few seconds to make the connection that he, indeed, was talking to you. Or Nami, wich was gone for the day.
You turned and looked at Sanji who was prancing towards you with heart eyes and an excited expression.
"May I accompany you to the table mademoiselle?" He held out his arm.
You took it, and your heart already pounded like mad in your chest. He was gorgeous, smart and charming. He was strong and kind and had dominated your thoughts since you joined the crew.
Too bad you never lived up to the standard he had for women. Small, mousy, not at all shapely or beautiful. He treated you friendly, but way too often he seemed to overlook you. And he never, ever treated you like your female crewmates.
So this felt new and exciting, his blue eyes looked at you for the first time, really seeing, even if it was not you he really looked at.
Happily, you let him walk you to breakfast and push your chair to the table that was already loaded with all kinds of the crew's favorite food.
"Y/n not coming?" He asked when one seat remained empty.
"She left for the city just a few minutes ago" you answered.
"Very well" He said and absent mindedly took the plate and cutlery away to make place.
Usually, you ate and goofed around with Usopp and Chopper, but of course, you are not here, Nami is. You've barely taken a bite out of your toast when Sanji already inquired if it's to your liking, while simultaneously barking at Luffy and Zoro to remember their manners.
"Nami-swaaan, my sunshine, my diamond, do you need anything else?" He asked, totally in love.
"Uhm, maybe a tea?" You answered, still a little perplexed. He never asked you anything like that before.
"Tea? Of course, right away my angel!" He cooed and hurried back to the kitchen, preparing the tea.
The rest of the breakfast continued just like that - Sanji asking endlessly for your wishes and getting to work immediately when you so much as whispered an answer.
Afterwards, everyone was getting ready to explore the island. You were planning to look through a few bookstores and end the day reading at a cafe.
"Nami-swaaaan, may I accompany you to the city? I will carry all your shopping bags!" He begged you eagerly.
"I don't plan on doing so much shopping..." You said with your hands raised in defense of his onslaught of affection.
"I'll just look around a bit and maybe get a book" you explained as Sanji already sank to one knee, taking your hand.
"Than I will be your bodyguard, the city is dangerous!" He informed you and like that, it was settled that he would come with you.
He wore one of his more casual outfits - a brightly colored hawaian shirt, a fitting tie and short cargo pants - so you two looked more like cringey tourists and less like pirates together.
Going with Sanji to explore the city felt almost like a date, commenting on clothing in shop windows and what would look so nice on Nami's body. You didn't plan on buying clothes that day, you didn't exactly know what she would like anyway, but he was very, very insisting that you at least try on a few things.
Unsure what to do, you left the decision to Sanji and he immediately lead you into one of the store
You tried a few things, just basic shirts and a dress, and of course it looked gorgeous on Nami. She could have worn a potatoe sack and look like a million beri. Sanji was almost swooning and loving every bit of it.
"So beautiful!" He gushed. "Nice body!" He squealed in delight. "Why don't you try this bikini?" He asked as he held up a few shreds of fabric.
"Why don't you try on something?" You asked him, already thinking what kinds of shirts or jackets would suit him best, and trying to discourage him from suggesting more revealing outfits.
____
Meanwhile at the Casino
Nami wandered past the picture of herself with the fat letters "DO NOT BELIEVE THIS WOMAN" and chuckled to herself. The owner of that chain of casinos kind of had a grudge against her, but the new face she was wearing couldn't be more inconspicuous. And she didn't directly do anything illegal, so it will be absolute fine.
-------
You
Soon, you flattered him into wearing some nice shirts that accentuated his bright eyes and slender frame. Much like Nami, he could wear pretty much anything and look fabulous, now it was your turn to gush about his looks and search for more outfits.
"Are you sure you don't want to try any more?" He asked insecurely as you handed him another suit to try. He didn't seem to be used to being on that side of the conversation, he talked softly and shyly all of a sudden.
"Do you really think this looks good on me?" He would ask again and again, revealing his sweet side even more.
"Of course, Sanji-kun! You look so handsome in that shirt." You said and saw his cheeks flush like he was a cute maiden.
"In fact, I like it so much that I'll buy it for you" eliciting an expression of pure shock from him.
"That is so nice, but what interest do you want?" He asked, already afraid that he was driven into debt. Of course, Zoro already was looking at an amount he would never pay off in his life, something Sanjin surely wanted to avoid.
"No, I really want to give you a gift. Promise!" You said and took out your purse.
"Really? A gift from my beautiful Nami-swan? I was never more happy!" He was almost crying from joy.
Leaving the store, he hummed and cuddled the fine dress shirt that you bought him, thinking it was a gift from his beloved. He looked so happy and sweet, you would love to shower him with gifts endlessly.
"How about we take a break, eat lunch at a restaurant?" You asked him, getting used to interacting with him in this new constellation. Of course he would say yes and of course he would be delighted at the chance.
"Yes, of absolutely! I'll find the best restaurant in town for you!" He promised and already started to walk towards the restaurant mile.
Like a researcher, he studied every restaurant meticulously, almost like his life depended on it. After what felt like an eternity, he finally decided for a small seaside bistro that looked not at all fancy or outstanding.
As he guided you to a table, he explained: "it may not look like much but their kitchen is filled with fresh herbs and they have few, but excellent dishes."
And he was right, it was fresh and delicious. You used the opportunity to get to know him better, since he usually didn't talk so lengthy to you.
"Tell me about yourself? A few stories from the baratie perhaps?" You asked, shamelessly nosy.
He looked like you had just gifted him the all blue on a pladder.
"You really want to know? About me?" He tentatively asked.
You nodded.
"Oh damn...where should I start? There's so many stories..." Once he started he almost couldn't stop, he seemed delighted by Nami's attention. She usually treated him politely, but held him at arms length if she didn't need anything. You felt a bit bad for changing the relationship somewhat, but you couldn't help but bask just for this one day in his company. Those blue eyes fixed on you, sparkling with joy and love, his pretty mouth telling you about his life. Moments that could be treasured long after this freak magic ended.
You hung on his lips and both of you forgot the time. He told you about the cooks that raised him, how Zeff trained him and how he went from a clueless kid to a master cook.
It felt like you got to know so many new sides to him and you fell in love with all of them. You knew that he was kind, but you didn't know that he loved animals as well. When a cute dog wandered by - telling by his round shape no doubt the villages favorite stray - Sanji absent mindedly scratched it behind the ears and gave it his leftovers.
It got late and the sun was already low in the sky.
"Time to head home, I don't want Luffy to starve tonight" He said with a chuckle.
Over already? He finally relaxed and opened up like never before, desperate to get just a few more moments with him you said: "come on, it's not that late. I bet they already bought something to eat in town. Let's search for a nice spot and watch the sunset!"
He looked speechless, the cigarette he just lit hung loosely from his lips.
"Uhm...sunset...watch...together???" He stammered in shock. "SO IT IS A DATE" he screamed and proceeded to bleed waterfalls from his nose.
No! You promised you wouldn't get Nami into trouble.
"No! No date! You know what, this is my fault, let's get back to the ship." You protested and tried to save the situation.
"What date? Who said something about a date? I just wanted to...uhm..buy some dates for dessert, yes. Let's watch the sunset as friends." He tried to save the situation.
Lucky for him, all you wanted was this moment with him, but without getting Nami into a situation she didn't want.
You found a spot on a low brick wall along the beach and watched the sun paint the sky in violet, pink and soft blue. It was calm and peaceful and you took deep breaths as you took in the beautiful scenery.
You turned to look at Sanji, but he was already staring at you, his mouth open.
"You're so God damn fucking beautiful" He whispered.
"You look like an angel..." he continued and leaned in to kiss you with heavy lidded eyes, competitively enchanted. You forgot who you were and why you were here, all that existed was this gorgeous, soft, wonderful man and you. Your eyes fluttered shut as your heart kicked into overdrive.
"Oh Nami-San" He whimpered when you could already feel his deep, nervous breaths on your face - slapping you back into reality.
This was not your kiss to have. This man didn't even want you. What you did there was deeply, deeply wrong on many levels. You jerked back, gasping, leaving Sanji to lose his balance and crash to the pavement below.
"Oh Nami-swan, your love is hitting me like a brick wall" he said, looking up at you with crossed eyes and a bleeding nose.
Panic rose inside of you - not only did you practically lie to your crewmate Sanji, you abused the body of your friend as well. You looked down her body, reminding you that none of this should be happening. You grabbed the cook at his collar and heaved him up. Emulating Nami's more demanding voice you say:
"NOTHING happened between us today, you hear me? NOTHING. We had a nice shopping tour, ate something AND THAT'S IT."
Baffled and with slightly wet eyes, Sanji nodded.
"And now we're going home." You said and dragged him to his feet. Ignoring his softly whispered questions, you stalked back to the ship on long legs that weren't yours, left a helpless and absolutely devastated Sanji on deck, and shut yourself in the girl's room
_____
Meanwhile: Nami
A broad grin in her face and a big sack of money on her back, Nami left the casino. She won - fair and square. She didn't always need to revert to robbery to get what she wanted - give her a card table and a bit of time and she wins everything just like that.
Nami was banned from all major casinos, so she didn't get to play as much. It was so much fun, she may have overdone it with the beer a little...y/n would surely understand.
_____
You
Finally, Nami came back, a very sour looking Law in her grasp. After putting everyone in the right body again, Nami gave him a brown paper envelope that he checked briefly, called her a witch, and left for good.
Crushed by guilt and feeling strangely dizzy, you confessed your guilt.
"I swear nothing really happened...I told him to forget it...I'M SO. SO. SORRY!" You collapsed at her feet as she turned in front of the mirror, admiring herself.
"Ah, thanks for the heads up. I'll deal with him, don't worry." She said, totally relaxed as she squeezed her boobs in both hands and pursed her lips, admiring the pose in the mirror.
"God, I missed these two!" She finally exclaimed and dressed in a bikini top and hotpants.
"So he'll be a little more annoying than usual. No biggie. Oh and...by the way? Maybe stay away from casinos for a few months" She said with a wink and ran down to the kitchen for dinner.
You felt like you couldn't show your face to Sanji ever again, when you remembered that you didn't spend the day with him. Nami has. And she would handle it.
You swayed down the stairs and sat down, there was no plate in front of you. Fair enough, you weren't really hungry. You watched Sanji as he carefully wooed Nami with special treats and compliments, all the while looking sad and small. When you finally decided to get up and get your own plate, he mumbled "oh sorry y/n, didn't think you were coming" barely glancing at you. "Just help yourself" He said as he pointed to the mountains of food on the table.
He stalked around Nami for the whole evening, ignoring you completely. Now that you've known how his attention and love felt, his indifference stung more than you could ever have imagined. And there was nothing you could do about it, you were just you. Not interesting.
Tears welled up in your eyes and you excused yourself hastily, fully crying before you could reach the relative privacy of the girls dorm.
You were crying over your own shortcomings, over perfect moments that would never come back, over blue eyes that would never look at you ever again, your pathetic weakness. Agitated, you threw yourself on your bed, bud were unable to fall asleep.
You decided to take a bath to feel better, and it helped, even just a little. Spending a long time relaxing in the hot water, you finally got tired and decided to give sleep another try.
As you walked back to the girls room, shriveled up like dried fruit and with ouffy eyes, you saw Sanji lean over the railing, smoking and looking out to the sea. He looked lost in thought, sad. You would have loved to comfort him, give him just the tiniest piece of happiness back, but it was pointless. He whispered something under his breath. Deciding against eavesdropping, you returned to bed and left him by himself.
-------
Epilogue
"You did quite a number on that guy. He brought me flowers this morning, can you imagine?" Nami told you, chuckling.
"White roses. He's really lost" She added, looking at you for some reaction.
"Sorry..." You muttered, your voice trailing off.
"I shouldn't have..."
"Don't feel bad, I'll be alright. It doesn't matter anyway if I'm too nice to him or kick him in the face, he'll be into me no matter what. It's annoying but harmless, and sometimes useful" She winked at you, trying to lift the mood.
"You know, it's not your fault he made it into a date. Bet he just coerced you into it, you're too nice!" Nami went on, you looked away, flushing.
"It's not like you wanted it, right?" She asked.
"Right?" She added a bit more insecurely.
"Oh." Her eyes went wide at your pained expression.
"Oh, well, uhm. An idiot like that for a nice girl like you? Nah!" She grimaced as your face darkened more and more.
"You deserve so much better! Some day you'll find the one" She talked on, slowly realising that it was not exactly making you feel better.
"Haha...sorry" She pouted.
"It's okay, I'll get over it." You answered.
"You're strong, you will." Nami patted your back and finally left.

Unintentional couple behaviour

you two acts like a loving couple all the time, so what happens when someone points it out?
gn!reader
characters: zoro, sanji, law, ace and sabo
(luffy, kidd, katakuri, shanks and mihawk)
words count: around 0.8k - 1.3k each
masterlist || ao3 || ko-fi
ââ .⊠Roronoa Zoro:
You do a lot of things for Zoro without thinking.
You wake him up when itâs time to eat. You stop him from training too much. You make sure he doesnât get lost whenever the crew visits a new island.
Itâs normal for you. Someone has to do it.
But one day, the others start teasing you about it.
It happens at lunch. You are eating with the crew when Usopp laughs and nudges your arm.
âHey, arenât you gonna get your boyfriend?â
You blink. âWhat?â
Sanji, cleaning his hands with a towel, nods toward the deck âThat moss-brained idiot. You always bring him to meals. Itâs like a little routine between you two now. Like a coupleâŠâ
âWeâre notââ You nearly choke on your drink âWeâre not a couple!â
Usopp grins âThen why do you always take so much care of him?â
âBecause heâs stupid and forgets to eat!â you say, standing up âIâll go get him, but not because of whatever weird ideas you guys have.â
You walk away while they laugh behind you.
You find Zoro exactly where you expect, napping against the shipâs railing, his swords next to him.
You roll your eyes and shake his shoulder âOi, wake up. Lunch is ready.â
Nothing.
You shake him harder âZoro. If you donât get up, Iâll eat your food.â
He grumbles and waves his hand, like heâs trying to swat away a fly.
Sighing, you do what you always do. You grab his wrist and pull him up with both hands. He lets you. He always does, like itâs natural.
Zoro blinks at you, still half-asleep âHuh. You again.â
âYeah, me again,â you say âCome eat before Sanji âforgetsâ to save you anything.â
Youâre still holding his wrist, making sure he doesnât fall back asleep. Thatâs when you notice Nami and Robin watching from across the deck, smiling.
âWhat?â you ask, feeling awkward.
Nami smirks âYou two are cute.â
Your face heats up âWeâre notâheâs notâweâre not together!â
Robin chuckles âYou do take care of him a lot.â
Zoro frowns, confused âWhat the hell are you talking about?â
âNothing,â you mutterl âCome eat.â
You let go of his wrist too fast and walk away, ignoring the warm feeling in your chest.
You think itâs over, but now you notice things.
Zoro always sits next to you at meals, even when there are other seats. You always save food for him without realizing. And during fights, he always protects you first, like itâs a habit.
And, worst of all, people keep pointing it out.
ây/n,â Chopper asks one day, tilting his head âAre you and Zoro dating?â
You almost trip âWhat?! No!â
âOh...â He looks confused âBut you act like itâ
You groan âNot you tooâ
After that, you canât stop thinking about it.
The next time you wake Zoro up, your fingers stay on his wrist a second too long. The next time he pulls you behind him in a fight, your heart beats faster.
And then one evening, when you catch him watching you with a thoughtful look, you realize you might be in trouble.
That night, Zoro speaks first.
âOiâ
You look up from your seat on the deck âWhat?â
He leans against the railing, arms crossed âDoes it bother you?â
You frown âDoes what bother me?â
âWhat people are sayingâ His eyes stay on you âAbout us.â
You swallow âWhy? Does it bother you?â
He doesnât answer right away âNoâ his voice is quieter than usual.
Your stomach flips and you look at the ocean âI mean⊠itâs just dumb teasing, right?â
Zoro doesnât reply. Instead, he watches you for a long time. Then, finally, he smirks.
âDoesnât really matter what they sayâ he says, voice calm but sure âIâd still stick with you either way.â
Your breath catches and suddenly, your heart wonât let you ignore this anymore.
For the next days you try to brush off what the crew said.
You really do, but itâs impossible to ignore when Zoro keeps acting the same way.
Like when youâre on lookout duty together, and he hands you his jacket without a word.
Or when you spar with him, and he pulls his hits just enough so you donât get hurt.
Or when you fall asleep on the Sunnyâs deck, and you wake up covered with a blanket, one you know you didnât grab.
And every time it happens, you catch the crew watching. Smirking.
Itâs driving you insane.
One afternoon, you finally decide to do something about it.
You find Zoro by the training room, lifting weights. His shirt is half undone, sweat glistening on his skin, but you shove that thought aside.
You cross your arms âHey, Zoro.â
He grunts in acknowledgment, not stopping his reps.
You hesitate ââŠWhy do you treat me differently?â
He finally sets the weight down, wiping his face with a towel âWhat?â
âYou heard me...â You shift uncomfortably âYou do things for me that you donât do for anyone else.â
Zoro leans back against the wall, looking at you like you just asked a stupid question âSo?â
âSo?â You huff âThat means something, doesnât it?â
He shrugs âI guess.â
You blink âThatâs it? You guess?â
Zoro sighs, scratching his head âLook, I donât really think about it. I justââ He pauses, then shrugs again âI want to.â
Your heart skips a beat ââŠWhat?â
âI want to do those things for you,â he says simply âitâs not a big dealâ
You stare at him âNot a... Zoro, are you serious?â
He frowns âWhat, you donât like it?â
âThatâs not the point!â Your face feels hot âYou donât do this for Nami or Robin or anyone else!â
Zoro looks at you, unimpressed âYeah. Because itâs you.â
You freeze.
The way he says it, so blunt, so obvious, it makes your stomach flip.
He isnât flustered. He isnât overthinking it. Heâs just stating a fact.
ââŠOh.â
Zoro crosses his arms, watching you carefully âIs that a problem?â
You swallow âNo. Itâs justâŠâ
Itâs everything. Itâs him always being there, always looking out for you, always treating you like someone important.
Itâs a realization you should have had ages ago.
You let out a breathless laugh âIâm an idiot.â
Zoro raises an eyebrow âWell, yeah.â
You smack his arm. He smirks.
But when your hand lingers just a little too long, he doesnât pull away.
And suddenly, you both understand... this isnât just a habit.
It never was.
Ever since that conversation in the training room, things between you and Zoro have⊠shifted, but not in a bad way.
He still trains for hours. Still naps in random spots. Still bickers with Sanji.
But now, when you sit beside him, his arm naturally rests along the back of your chair.
Now, when you fight, he doesnât just watch your back, he makes sure youâre never out of reach.
Now, when you look at him for a second too long, he looks right back.
Like heâs waiting.
Like heâs giving you the choice.
One evening, you find him on the Sunnyâs deck, looking out at the ocean.
ââŠCanât sleep?â he asks.
You shake your head, stepping closer âThinking too much.â
Zoro smirks âDangerous habit...â
You huff a laugh but donât argue.
Instead, you stand beside him, silent for a moment before you finally ask...
âDo you regret telling me?â
Zoro frowns âTelling you what?â
âThat you⊠actually treat me differently. That you want to.â
His jaw tightens slightly âNo.â
Your heart does something strange âGood.â
You donât give yourself time to hesitate.
Before doubt can creep in, you grab him and pull him down.
Zoro freezes.
For half a second, he doesnât move. Doesnât even breathe.
Then a quiet growl rumbles from his chest, and his hand cups the back of your neck as he kisses you back.
Itâs firm. Solid. Like heâs been holding back for too long and refuses to anymore.
When you finally break apart, Zoro leans his forehead against yours, exhaling through his nose.
ââŠFinallyâ he mutters.
You grin âYou were waiting for me?â
âWasnât gonna rush youâ His fingers brush your jaw âYou get there when you get there.â
You hum, leaning into him âAnd now?â
Zoro smirks âNow, youâre stuck with me.â
You kiss him again, just to make sure he knows you wouldnât want it any other way.
ââ .⊠Vinsmoke Sanji:
Sanji has always been a flirt. Thatâs just how he is.
He calls Nami and Robin âmy loveâ and âmy dearâ. He spins around the kitchen whenever they compliment him. He offers to carry their bags when the crew goes shopping.
But when it comes to you, itâs different.
It starts when the crew is eating dinner together.
âSanji, can you pass the salt?â you ask.
Instead of handing you the salt shaker, Sanji grabs it, twists off the lid, and sprinkles just the right amount onto your plate.
You blink âUh. Thanks?â
âOf course, my dearâ he says smoothly. Then, as if nothing happened, he turns back to his own plate.
You think nothing of it... until you notice the way the others are watching.
Usopp raises an eyebrow âDid he just season your food for you?â
âYeah?â You shrug âWhat's new about it? He's a chef and heâs just being nice.â
Luffy grins âHe doesnât do that for anyone else.â
âThatâs not true,â you argue âSanji treats everyone like this.â
Nami hums âNot exactly like this. If we wanted more salt he would start a lecture about how it would ruin his masterpiece.â
Before you can ask what she means, Sanji stands up to grab dessert. He places a plate in front of you first. Itâs your favorite.
The crew stares.
You stare too âSanjiâŠâ
He smiles âWhat? I made extra for you.â
Usopp coughs âYeah. Okay. Totally normal.â
Robin chuckles behind her hand.
You shake your head and go back to eating. Itâs nothing. Sanji is just being Sanji.
âŠRight?
But then, you start noticing other things.
When youâre cold, Sanji drapes his jacket over your shoulders without you asking.
When you need something from a high shelf, Sanji wordlessly reaches up and hands it to you.
When youâre about to trip, his hand is always there to steady you.
And every time, every single time, he does it so naturally that you donât even think about it.
Until one day, Franky whistles and says, âYou two sure act like a couple.â
You nearly drop the drink in your hands âWhat?!â
Sanji, who was stirring a pot at the stove, pauses.
Franky leans against the counter, grinning âYou two do all that coupley stuff. He gives you the best food, takes care of you, treats you differently from everyone elseââ
âThatâs not true,â you say quickly âSanjiâs like this with everyone.â
Franky snorts âNah. He does flirt with everyone. But this?â He gestures between you and Sanji âThis is different.â
You glance at Sanji. Heâs staring into the pot, silent.
Your face feels hot now âYou guys are reading too much into things.â
âSure we are...â Franky says, smirking. Then he leaves.
The kitchen is quiet now. You swallow and turn to Sanji.
ââŠIs it true?â
He looks at you. His usual confident smile is gone. Instead, thereâs something softer in his eyes.
âI donât knowâ he says âis it?â
Your heartbeat quickens.
Suddenly, every touch, every sweet gesture, it all feels different.
Maybe it wasnât just a habit.
Maybe it was something else all along.
After all this the teasing has only gotten worse.
Ever since Nami and Usopp pointed out how Sanji treats you, they will not let it go.
âHere comes Sanjiâs beloveeeed~â Usopp sings when you walk into the kitchen.
âI should start charging you for all the extra food Sanji makes only for youâ Nami smirks.
Even Luffy, who usually doesnât care about these things, grins at Sanji one afternoon and says âOi, cook, when are you gonna marry y/n?â
Sanji chokes on his cigarette so hard he has to brace himself on the counter.
You groan and drag a hand down your face.
But what really drives you insane?
Sanji never denies it.
He stutters, blushes, waves his hands, but he never says âThatâs not true.â
Because it is true.
And itâs starting to drive you crazy.
You try to ignore it. But then you start noticing things, even the smallest ones.
Sanji never lets you carry anything heavy.
He always pours you tea first, even before Nami and Robin.
He adjusts your chair at dinner like itâs second nature.
And the worst part? He doesnât even realize heâs doing it.
But you do.
And now, every time he gives you that lookâthe one thatâs soft, full of admiration, like you hung the damn sun in the skyâyour heart stumbles over itself.
This has to stop.
Or something has to change.
It happens one evening after dinner.
Youâre in the kitchen, helping Sanji clean up. He hums as he washes the dishes, sleeves rolled up, golden hair falling over his forehead.
You watch him for a second, then take a deep breath.
âSanji.â
He glances at you, smiling âYes, my love?â
You grip the counter âWhy do you act like weâre together?â
Sanji freezes.
The faucet keeps running. The kitchen is warm with the smell of spices. But Sanji is frozen.
Slowly, he turns his head toward you ââŠP-Pardon?â
You cross your arms âYou treat me differently. Even the crew notices. You never do this stuff for anyone else.â
Sanji swallows hard âIââ
âYou never deny it,â you press âand honestly? Iâm tired of waiting for you to finally say something.â
Sanji stares at you like youâve just flipped his entire world upside down.
His hands shake. His lips part like he wants to speak, but nothing comes out.
ââŠSanji.â Your voice softens âDo you want this to be real?â
A shuddering breath leaves him. He looks at you, eyes wide, vulnerable.
âMore than anything...â he whispers.
Your heartbeat stutters.
Thatâs it. Thatâs all you need to hear.
You step forward, grab the front of his shirt, and kiss him.
Sanji malfunctions.
His entire body locks up, like his brain has completely short-circuited.
For a solid two seconds, he does not move.
Then a noise escapes him, something between a whimper and a desperate sigh, and his hands come up to cup your face, pulling you closer.
The kiss is warm, overwhelming, but soft, like heâs afraid youâll disappear if he holds on too tight.
When you finally pull away, heâs redder than his own suit.
ââŠM-Mon amour,â he breathes, voice shaking âYou...you actually...â
You smirk âTook us long enough, cook.â
Sanji makes a strangled sound and immediately buries his face in your shoulder, arms wrapped tight around you.
Outside, the crew is losing their minds.
âTOLD YOU!â Usopp shouts.
âI WON THE BET!â Nami cheers.
âOi, Sanji, you alive in there?â Zoro snickers.
Sanji doesnât answer. Heâs too busy melting against you, whispering sweet nothings into your skin.
And honestly?
You think youâll let him.
ââ .⊠Trafalgar D. Law:
Law is not the kind of person who likes physical contact. He doesnât let most people touch him. He keeps his distance, always standing at the edge of conversations with his arms crossed. If someone bumps into him, they get a glare.
But for some reason, you are different.
It starts when Bepo hands you a coat one evening.
âHere,â he says, tail flicking âyou left this in the lounge.â
You blink at it. Itâs black, long, and definitely not yours.
âThis isnât mineâ you say, confused.
Bepo tilts his head âOh. But you always wear the captainâs coat, so I thought it was yours now...â
You freeze.
âWait. What?â
Shachi walks by and hears the conversation. He grins âYeah, you totally do. Every time youâre cold, you steal his coat.â
Penguin nods âAnd Law never complains.â
You open your mouth. Close it. Try to remember.
âŠOkay, maybe you have borrowed Lawâs coat a few times. But thatâs just because itâs warm! And because itâs there! And because...
Oh no.
Your stomach twists âI... I do not...â
âSure you donât...â Shachi teases âWhatâs next? Calling him âdearâ?â
You groan and shove the coat at Bepo before walking away.
But now, you canât stop thinking about it.
After this, you start noticing other things. Like how Law always lets you into his personal space.
How you can tug his hat down over his eyes without him pushing you away.
How he casually rests his hand on your shoulder when he stands next to you.
One day, you trip over a loose crate. Before you even hit the ground, a familiar blue glow surrounds you... Lawâs Room.
In an instant, youâre back on your feet, completely unharmed.
The Heart Pirates snicker.
âCaptain didnât even thinkâ Penguin whispers.
âHe never uses Room for anyone elseâs clumsinessâ Shachi adds.
You glare at them âI heard that.â
They just smirk.
Law doesnât say anything. He just sighs and keeps walking, like saving you without thinking is the most natural thing in the world.
Your heart does something weird. You ignore it.
Later, you sit on a crate, arms crossed. Law stands next to you, reading a medical book.
You glance at him âYour crew keeps calling me âCaptainâs partner.ââ
He doesnât look up âSo?â
âSo, why?â
He flips a page âProbably because you act like one.â
Your brain short-circuits.
You stare âExcuse me?â
Law finally looks at you, raising an eyebrow âYouâre always in my quarters, you steal my coat, and you act like you belong next to me. Theyâre not wrong.â
Your face burns âI... You let me do all that!â
He smirks âI know.â
You open your mouth, but no words come out.
Because suddenly, you realize... he has let you. And he still is.
Ever since Bepo and the others pointed out how Law treats you differently, itâs been impossible to ignore.
The extra care during missions. The way he always stands just a little closer than necessary. The way he lets you touch him, his arm, his shoulder, even his hand, when no one else would dare.
But what really gives him away?
The way his ears burn red every time you get too close.
And yet he never says anything.
If you didnât know better, youâd think he was running an experiment to see how long he could keep this up before you lost your mind.
So tonight youâre calling him out.
You find him in his quarters, buried in medical books.
âHey, Law.â You lean against the desk, arms crossed âCan I ask you something?â
His eyes flick up âWhat?â
You tilt your head âDo you like me?â
Law chokes.
Not just a little cough... he full-on chokes on air, slamming his book shut as if thatâll somehow save him.
âWhatâ?!â He coughs into his fist âWhere the hell did that come from?â
You raise an eyebrow âYou tell me.â
Law scowls, shifting uncomfortably âYouâre being ridiculous.â
âOh? Am I?â You step closer.
He stiffens âWhat are you...?â
You place your hands on the arms of his chair and lean in, caging him in.
His breath hitches.
Oh. Oh.
He is not prepared for this.
âLaw,â you murmur, watching his face closely âyou never let anyone touch you, but you let me.â
His jaw clenches âThat doesnâtââ
âYou always make sure I rest. You check my injuries before anyone elseâs.â
âBecause youâre recklessââ
âAnd...â you lean even closer âyour ears are red right now.â
Law swallows.
You smirk âSo, wanna try again?â
For a long moment, he just stares at you, lips parted, golden eyes darting between yours.
Then, in a last-ditch effort, he growls... âYouâre annoying.â
You hum âMaybe.â
And then you kiss him.
Law goes still.
For the first time since youâve known him, he is completely speechless.
But then a quiet sound escapes him, and his hand suddenly grips your wrist, holding you there.
You almost pull back, unsure, until his other hand slides around the back of your neck, fingers threading into your hair, and he kisses you back.
Itâs hesitant at first, but when you donât pull away, something shifts.
The kiss deepens, his grip tightens, and the heat radiating off of him is enough to make you dizzy.
When you finally part, Law exhales sharply, pressing his forehead against yours.
ââŠYouâre gonna be a problemâ he mutters, voice rough.
You grin âYeah?â
His fingers tighten in your hair âYeah.â
And then, despite everything, he kisses you again.
Because for once in his life heâs done running.
ââ .⊠Portgas D. Ace:
Ace is naturally affectionate.
He throws an arm around peopleâs shoulders, laughs loudly, and grins like the world is a joke heâs in on. Heâs warm but also because he makes people feel welcome.
So itâs not weird that he touches you a lot.
Right?
It starts when Marco sits down next to you, smirking.
âYou and Ace finally together, yoi?â
You look at him confused âwhat do you mean?â
âA couple⊠are you two a couple?â
You almost drop your drink âWhat? No!â
Marco raises an eyebrow âYou sure? He always saves you a seat at meals. Always gives you his food if you ask. Always keeps an eye on you during fights.â
You roll your eyes âThat doesnât mean anything. Heâs just like that.â
âNot with everyoneâ Marco takes a sip of his drink âJust you.â
You open your mouth to argue, but then you donât know what to say, because now, youâre thinking about it.
The next time Ace sits beside you at dinner, you notice how he slides his plate a little closer to yours, letting you steal his food.
The next time the crew docks at an island, you notice how he instinctively waits for you before walking off together.
The next time youâre about to trip, you donât even get the chance to fall, Ace grabs your wrist and steadies you like itâs second nature.
And maybe it is second nature.
âCareful, Ace,â one of the division commanders teases âIf you keep acting like that, y/n might actually think youâre in love.â
Ace laughs, scratching the back of his head âYeah, yeah.â
You laugh too. Because itâs just a joke⊠Right?
One night, you sit together on the deck, watching the ocean.
You fidget for a second before saying âThe crew keeps calling us a coupleâ
Ace hums âYeah?â
You glance at him âWhy do you think that is?â
He leans back, arms behind his head, and grins âProbably because we act like one.â
You choke on your own breath âExcuse me?!â
Ace tilts his head âI mean, we do everything together. You always take my food, and I always let you. You always pull me out of trouble, and I always let you. Feels natural, doesnât it?â
Your brain short-circuits.
Because now that you think about it... yeah, it does feel natural.
ââŠAce,â you say slowly âAre we...?â
He looks at you, amusement flickering in his eyes âWhat do you think?â
Your stomach flips.
Because suddenly, youâre not sure where the habit ends and the feelings begin.
After this, Ace keeps flirting with you all the time.
Itâs just who he is.
Winks across the deck. Throwing an arm around your shoulders. Calling you hot stuff like itâs your actual name.
Youâre used to it.
But after the teasing from Marco and Thatch, after realizing that Ace treats you differently, you start to wonder.
Is he just playing around? Or is there something real underneath?
Thereâs only one way to find out.
The perfect opportunity comes one afternoon, when Ace flops down next to you on the Moby Dickâs deck, grinning.
âHey,â he drawls, resting an arm behind his head âMiss me?â
You smirk âI saw you literally two hours ago.â
âThatâs two hours too long.â He winks âBet you were thinking about me the whole time.â
You hum, tilting your head âYou really think that, huh?â
Ace chuckles âCâmon, you love me.â
You raise an eyebrow âProve it.â
He blinks âHuh?â
You shift, leaning closer with a sly smile âYou say all this stuff, Ace. You flirt, you tease... but are you actually serious?â
For the first time, he hesitates.
Just for a second, but itâs enough.
ââŠOf course I am,â he says, but his usual confidence isnât all there.
You smirk âThen show me.â
Before he can react, you grab his hat, his precious hat, and plop it onto your own head.
Ace short-circuits.
âOi! Thatâs...!â He reaches for it instinctively but stops mid-motion, staring at you.
You tilt the brim with a smirk âWhat? You said you liked me, right?â
Ace swallows âY-Yeah?â
âThen just take it back.â
You expect him to snatch it back playfully.
What you donât expect is for Ace to grin, eyes flickering with mischief, and suddenly tackle you onto the deck.
You yelp as he hovers over you, forearms braced on either side of your head.
The crew whoops in the background, but neither of you pay them any attention.
Ace smirks down at you âYou think youâre funny, huh?â
You grin âA little.â
Ace shakes his head, chuckling, but then his expression softens.
He reaches up, tilts the hat back just enough to see your face properly.
And then without thinking he leans down and kisses you.
Itâs grinning into the kiss kind of playful. Itâs warm and teasing but full of something deeper.
And when he pulls back, face way too close, he murmurs âNow you gotta prove it.â
Your heart races.
You donât back down. Instead, you tug him down by his necklace and kiss him again.
This time, Ace melts.
When you finally break apart, Ace huffs out a breathless laugh.
âWell,â he grins âGuess you do love me.â
You roll your eyes âShut up.â
But you donât stop him when he kisses you one more time.
Because, honestly?
Heâs right.
ââ .⊠Sabo:
Sabo is easy to be around.
Heâs kind, smart, and always ready to listen. He laughs at your jokes, never forgets your favorite things, and somehow always knows when you need him.
So itâs no surprise that you spend a lot of time together.
But apparently, the way you act around him is a little⊠suspicious.
It starts when youâre walking through the Revolutionary Army base with Koala.
âSo,â she says casually âwhen are you and Sabo going to make it official?â
You nearly trip over your own feet âWhat?!â
Koala grins âCome on, donât play dumb. You two already act like a couple.â
You scoff âNo, we donât.â
She raises an eyebrow âOh really? Whoâs the first person Sabo looks for when he gets back from a mission?â
ââŠMe.â
âWhoâs the only person he lets borrow his gloves?â
ââŠMe.â
âAnd whoâs the only one he lets fall asleep on his shoulder without complaining?â
You open your mouth, but nothing comes out.
Becauseâoh.
Oh.
Koala smirks âSee what I mean?â
You shake your head âThat doesnât mean anything. Weâre just close.â
She shrugs âIf you say so.â
But now, you canât stop thinking about it. You start noticing things, like how Sabo always finds a reason to sit next to you during meals, or how he reaches out to fix your collar or tuck your hair behind your ear like itâs normal, or how he always makes sure you have a blanket when you fall asleep at your desk, even though no one else gets that treatment.
And the worst part?
Now that youâre paying attention, everyone else is too.
âI swear, itâs like theyâre marriedâ one soldier mutters.
âThey finish each otherâs sentencesâ another whispers.
âBet they donât even realizeâ someone else chuckles.
You groan and drop your head onto the table.
Sabo, sitting beside you, blinks âWhatâs wrong?â
âNothingâ you mumble.
He frowns, then wordlessly slides his drink toward you.
You stare at it ââŠDid you just give me your drink?â
He shrugs âYou like it more than I do.â
You glance around. Several soldiers are watching now, smirking.
Slowly, you push the drink back to him.
Sabo looks confused âYou donât want it?â
Your face burns âNope. Iâm fine.â
He tilts his head, then shrugs and takes a sip.
The others snicker.
You sigh.
Later that night, you sit beside him on the rooftop, watching the stars.
âSabo,â you say carefully âdo we⊠act like a couple?â
He hums âWhy?â
âPeople keep saying we do.â
Sabo leans back on his hands, thinking. Then he smiles âI guess I can see why.â
Your heart skips a beat âYou can?â
âWell, weâre always together,â he says easily âI trust you more than anyone. You take care of me, I take care of you. Feels normal.â
You stare at him âThatâs⊠kind of a couple thing, donât you think?â
Sabo looks at you for a long moment. Then he smirks.
âWell,â he says, voice teasing but gentle âdo you want it to be?â
Your breath catches.
And suddenly, the answer seems obvious.
Sabo has always been easy to be around.
You never have to force a conversation. Never have to second-guess his presence.
Heâs just there, a steady warmth beside you, the hand that always steadies your back when you walk through the Revolutionary camp, the person you find yourself naturally leaning against when youâre tired.
And the thing is?
He never pulls away.
Even now, sitting beside you near the fire after a long day, his arm rests lightly along the back of your seat. Close enough to feel, but not demanding.
Itâs natural.
But tonight, somethingâs different.
Thereâs a quiet between you, not uncomfortable, but charged with something unsaid.
You donât know who moves first, but suddenly your head is resting against his shoulder, and instead of shifting away, Sabo just exhales softly, tilting his head against yours.
You close your eyes, feeling the warmth of him, the steady rise and fall of his breathing.
ââŠI like thisâ you murmur, barely thinking.
Sabo hums âMe tooâ A pause. Then... âI always have.â
Your heart stutters.
Slowly, you lift your head, turning just enough to meet his gaze.
His expression is calm, too calm, like heâs waiting for you to understand something heâs known for a long time.
And you do.
Because of course it was always him.
You donât say anything. You donât need to.
Instead, you reach up, gently tracing your fingers along his jaw.
Sabo closes his eyes briefly at the touch before opening them again, watching you with something unreadable, something deep.
Then, without hesitation, he leans in.
The kiss is slow, certain.
Itâs not rushed, not desperate because this was never a question.
It was always going to be this.
When you part, Sabo lingers, his forehead resting against yours.
His hand finds yours, fingers lacing together easily.
ââŠFeels like we shouldâve done that a long time agoâ he murmurs, lips brushing against yours.
You smile âMaybe. But I think we got here at the right time.â
Sabo chuckles softly, squeezing your hand âYeah. I think so too.â
And when he kisses you again, it feels like something that was simply meant to be.

LaDS Men React To An Unexpected Pregnancy
AN: Pregnant reader. Not the boys. That genre is currently unexplored on this blog but not for long đ€đș
Pairing: LaDS boys x Fem reader
Ingredients: 75% fluff, 25% angst.
My Fav: Rafayel's (new segment because I want to discuss which ones I liked best when writing)
Xavier:
You pass out during a mission. Thatâs how you find out. In the Hunter Associationâs medical ward, you stare at the positive report in stunned silence.
The nausea hadnât just been Xavierâs cooking.
How even You sit there, frozen, until he walks in, finding you pale and unmoving.
A child.
He leans against the wall, the report in his hand. God.
He had vanished the day he found out. Left you bitterly alone. But you didnât need him, you could raise the child on your own. If Xavier was too weak to accept the truth, so be it.
But he returns. You donât know where he went, only that when he comes back, he is broken.
"I couldn't change it." He falls to his knees. "The world remains unchanged," he repeats, voice hollow.
The destruction he had accepted, the grief he had worn like armor, now, it becomes unbearable. Because for the first time, he isnât sure if he can ever manage to save it for his child.
Rafayel:
He dreams of it. Strange dreams.
Heâs not one to obsess over omens, but even he, in his eternal wisdom, cannot decipher what a colony of seals playing with marbles is supposed to mean.
Then, one afternoon, he dreams of a baby seal. It coos at him, glumphing closer, making infant-like noises.
And in the dream, he bends down to pet it. Only for you to pick it up instead.
He jolts awake. Hands immediately over his stomach. Breath unsteady. No...not him...it was you. You picked the seal, that meant-
Then he stumbles out of bed, nearly tripping over himself in his rush to find you.
Drives like a madman. He counts the days. Two months. He counts the signs.
His heart refuses to slow down.
Barging into the Hunterâs Association, heâs chased by guards, by an exasperated receptionist, but none of it matters.
When he finds you, he grips your shoulders, searching your face. How could he have missed it?
By the tides, he was a fool.
And thenâhe feels it. A whisper, warm and murmuring, like the gentle pull of the waves.
A half-formed yawn, ringing softly in his mind.
The presence of his child.
Now all he has to do is tell you.
Zayne:
You watch Zayne eat dinner, half-listening as he talks about his day. He absentmindedly bites into another baby carrot.
Not just baby carrots, baby corn, baby potatoes, those tiny tomatoes.
"Howâs dinner, Zayne?" you ask, feigning nonchalance.
He nods, smiling. "Itâs good. Very healthy."
"Notice anything?"
He hums in thought. "Youâre trying Italian cuisine these days." He places his hand over yours, gentle. "But you donât have to cook if youâre tired after work."
Heâs too kind to mention the small incident with the oven last week. To be fair, the bun in the oven analogy is a classic.
A week. A whole week of hints, and still, he hasnât caught on.
Sighing, you give up on subtlety. "Darling, did you visit the pediatrics ward today?" you ask, pushing food around your plate.
"I didnât have time. Had to miss the volunteering event for surgery."
You grin. Taking his hand, you guide it over your stomach. "Well, luckily for you, weâll have one right here soon."
His mouth hangs open. Eyes darting between you and your stomach before his fingers brush over the nonexistent bump.
"Really? Are weâ"
"Yes, you dummy!" You pull him into a hug. "Iâve been trying to tell you for days."
For a man obsessed with your health, he somehow had been ignorant of the biggest of surprises. Unplanned or not, you were going to give him the longest late night shift of his life.
Sylus:
The timing could have been better, he muses, wiping blood off his cheek.
But he had been too lax.
Not that it mattered. Everything was under control.
"Clean up," he orders, snapping his fingers. Shadows slither forward, dragging the remains of his enemies into the abyss.
The news of a child had changed things. He had let fate play its part for too long. Now, it was his turn.
Whatever slow-moving scheme he had let linger, ended now.
There was no way in hell he was letting you go on any mission while carrying his child.
Aether Core be damned. EVER be damned to NEVER. He would wipe them out if he had to.
For now, though, he had other priorities.
Leaving you safe at home, he finishes this last errand. Your only battle at the moment is morning sickness which, much to his surprise, isnât just limited to mornings.
He wipes his hands clean, heading for his bike.
One last stop. You wanted pickles.
He smiles, revving the engine. Soon, only cars.
And then, heâs gone, speeding into the night, back to you. Back to his family. To cuddle the little dragon who gives you unrivaled heartburn and kicks like a menace at 18 weeks.
Caleb:
He knew.
Some would say he saw it coming, but just because he kept track of your cycle didnât mean he could predict your ovulation exactly.
He was justâŠgood at math.
Mental math.
And taking you to a convenience store for cough drops, right next to the pregnancy tests, had been pure coincidence.
Not that he totally snuck a glance at you eyeing them. And if he excused himself to grab a snack right then? Also not planned.
You hand him the test. "I think Iâm pregnant."
He goes through all the expressions shock, surprise, joy, tears. So dramatic that it fools no one.
Seriously, heâs atrocious at being subtle about it.
Instantly proposes. Shotgun wedding because the baby will need a family.
Grins like a madman when it turns out to be twins.
Secretly, heâs very, very proud.
Heavens, he thinks smugly, I really am amazing at math.

Misplaced Rings (Luffy, Sanji, Zoro)

_____ Pairings: Luffy x Reader; Sanji x Reader; Zoro x Reader Summary: They misplace their wedding ring/band and are sent into a panic. Warnings: Some Angst, Fluff, Female Reader [One Piece Masterlist] _____
- Luffy -
Everyone knows that Luffy's most prized possession is his straw hat. It is always on his head or within his reach wherever he may go, and if it was not, he would be sent into an untamable panic that almost always ended with tears if the hat was not found within the day. However, unbeknownst to most, there is now a second possession he cherishes just as much: his wedding band.
The simple strip of gold around his ring finger adorned with crushed rubies was a fitting wedding band you had picked out just for him. And though Sanji often berates his Captain for wearing such precious jewellery during battles, his concern was for naught; you had sought Franky's help, ensuring the band could survive Luffy's battles and keep up with his elasticity.
Thanks to those facts, the ring remained on Luffy's finger indefinitely, just like the iconic straw hat on his head. It reminded him of his wedding with you upon his ship; the banquet far larger than any he had thrown before, the lively music and laughter, the utter joy. But more importantly, it reminded him of you and your pledge to stay by his side as he became the pirate king; it was an oath you undertook with pride every day of your life.
So, imagine his utter despair when he realises it has gone missing.
You were sitting at the dining room table with Nami and Robin, the three of you chatting and looking over magazines away from the harsh summer sun when you heard a familiar shout. You startle along with the two women you sit beside, meeting glances with utter confusion.
"What was that-"
You barely get to finish your sentence when the door to the kitchen slams open, revealing a wide-eyed Luffy who looks as though he is about to be sick. Your brows furrow together, Sanji looking over from his kitchen and about to give his Captain a piece of his mind, but you are concerned seeing your husband look as though on the brink of rare dread.
"Lu, what's wrong?"
You stand from your chair and run up to him but he already has comical tears almost pouring from his eyes. He is on his knees and instantly grabs your hands, and shakes them in his despair.
"[y/n] it's gone!!!"
You are still lost in your confusion as you look at him, his straw hat still attached to his head. You remember his outbursts in the past when he had thought he lost his hat for good, so you look down at him confounded at why he is having a similar breakdown with it still on his person.
"But Luffy, you still have your straw hat. It's on your head."
Luffy shakes his head like a downtrodden puppy as he looks up to you with tears falling from his eyes.
"No, my wedding band, it's gone!!"
Your eyes widen for just a moment as you look at the hands that still hold yours, noticing for the first time that there remains a tan line where Luffy's wedding band used to be. You feel your heart drop lightly at the predicament, and at that point, your friends had also gathered around in the fuss their Captain seemed to cause. Sanji seemed shocked the most whilst Robin and Nami frowns in concern behind you.
"What?! You lost the wedding ring [y/n]-san especially bought for you?!"
Sanji starts berating Luffy but you can hardly be mad at him when he looks so genuinely upset and in despair on the ground before you. You instantly kneel down to his level, and caress his raven hair gently trying to soothe the turmoil in his eyes. "W-wedding band-" He murmurs, and you are touched by how much he seems to hold the simple piece of jewellery so dear, to the point where he reacts to losing it just as he does his straw hat. You smile gently, and pat the straw hat that remains atop his head.
"It's okay Lu. I'm sure we'll find it."
"W-what if we don't?!"
You sigh as he looks at you imploringly, but you take his hands and help him to his feet.
"We'll all look for it, surely we'll find it then."
You turn to the cook who stands beside you, still glaring at his Captain as though he had committed the worst crime in the world.
"Right, Sanji? You'll help us too right?"
Sanji instantly perks up at the mention of his name past your lips and turns into a puddle of nods and affirmations.
"Of course, [y/n]-swan-"
You sigh at his never changing demeanour but turn to your husband who seems to have collected himself and nods in grim agreement. You smile as you take Luffy's hand, ready to search every nook and cranny of the ship. Nami, Robin and Sanji also help, with Chopper joining in when he bumps into you all searching the ship for a glimpse of gold and red. You force Luffy to retrace his steps entering the rooms he went to the past day for the glimmer of jewellery, but soon hours pass with no sign of his beloved ring.
"W-wedding band-"
You had all returned to the kitchen, Luffy now with his head on the table and tears pouring down it like a river of defeat. Chopper tries to cheer up his Captain but it is for naught, and you pat his shoulder in comfort whilst the others look on sympathetically.
In his mind, Luffy cannot believe that he has lost the one piece of jewellery he thought he would cherish until the day he died. Gold was often a mere bonus to him as a Pirate amongst the sea; an afterthought often intertwined in his adventures on the path to becoming Pirate King. But the gold around his finger was another story.
"I'm sorry Lu, I'll ask Franky if he can make you another one?"
But Luffy seems inconsolable as he is adamant the one he received on his wedding day, was the only one he wanted. However, before you can even input another word, the door smacks open, revealing the very man you had just spoken about. What's more, in his hand, the shine of gold and red reflected from the kitchen lights; Luffy's wedding band.
"Here you go Luffy! Sorry, it took a while but I promise I added some SUUUPER upgrades to keep up with your SUUUPER gears."
For a moment, there lasts a long and lingering silence in the wake of Franky's words, when suddenly, Luffy sits up like he was told the day's weather.
"That's right, I did give it to Franky yesterday."
Everyone falls off their chairs in utter bewilderment at Luffy's words; the day spent searching that could've been solved by one trip to Franky who had been working away all day, or by lack of Luffy's dense memory. Sanji instantly stands back up, kicking the underside of his Captain's head in utter rage and causing his head to hit the table.
"Idiot! We searched the whole day for that damned ring!"
But Luffy seems unfazed, and you have to let out a small laugh as he collects the ring from Franky and puts it back in its rightful place. You don't know if your laughter comes from relief or discomposure at the stupidity of the scenario you were in, but Robin joins you, your other crewmates more agitated. When Luffy looks up to you, however, with his wide and satisfied grin, ring shown proudly on his ring finger you can't help but get up and kiss his cheek lightly.
"I found it!"
He was an idiot, but he was your idiot.
- Sanji -
Sanji adores you, he is utterly in love with you, and if anyone asks what the happiest day of his life is, they don't even need to wait a second before he tells them about his wedding day. The gorgeous atmosphere, the pleasant music, the wedding cake he pondered and spent hours making just right, you adorned in your beautiful white dress. He could speak hours on his love if you let him, and he is not afraid to shout it out for everyone else to know and hear: you were his and he was yours.
If there was anything that symbolised the depths of your love and his, it would be the wedding ring around your finger and the wedding band around his. Yours was gorgeous but simple, a beautiful diamond reflecting the strength of the love you both shared. His was personal and beautiful, a gold band etched with sapphires, engraved with the date of the wedding until the end of time.
He adored it, he adored the weight of it on his finger, a reaffirmation of the oath you both pledged. He adored showing it off to people, just as he adored seeing you pointing to your ring when asked if you were taken. He would only remove it when absolutely necessary, such as when he prepared meals for his crew, but even then it stayed close to him where he could never misplace it. He told you he would look after it forever, but amongst Sanji's abundance of thoughts, there was a moment where the location of his prized ring slipped his mind.
Sanji has been absent all day, hastily making meals, moving swiftly from your side, and not even a murmur of hello as he leaves every room you enter. You are confused and slightly hurt, but most of all you are concerned.
Have you done something?
Was he feeling okay?
Why was he avoiding you?
When you asked your crewmates about his behaviour, however, they said similar things. How his answers had been short, unable to request meals due to his haste to enter the next room, even Nami and Robin claimed he had seemed more distracted. So you frown at the entrance of the kitchen; you had just seen him enter and knew you could try and talk to him now. You only hoped he would share in his troubles.
As the door to the kitchen creeps open, Sanji freezes at the sound of your footsteps and looks up at you standing before him. When your eyes meet you catch guilt and trepidation in the depths of his, and you are instantly more worried than before.
"Sanji, what's wrong? You're not being yourself."
Your husband grits his teeth in regret, and you catch a slither of tears amongst his lower lash line, causing you to reach up and caress his face in concern. But in his mind, Sanji feels as though he does not deserve your touch or your care. He had lost his wedding band and could not for the life of him remember where he put it. He felt as though he had been searching the whole day, but as the hours passed, he felt his hopes withering along with the sun.
His most prized possession, a symbol of your love and a remnant of the best day of his life, was lost due to his carelessness.
His eyebrows furrow together as he reaches out and holds your hand that lingers on his face, his words low and softly spoken.
"I lost my wedding band. I- I'm so sorry love."
Your eyes widen slightly in surprise, and Sanji readies himself for the disappointment and your swift anger, rejection, your swift dismissal of him from in front of you. But instead, you collect yourself before continuing to bear the concern in your gaze mixed with what looked like understanding; finally knowing why he was acting this way.
"It'll be okay Sanji, no need to work yourself up. We'll look for it together, I'm sure we'll find it."
Sanji's eyes spark open in his own surprise at your kind words and conduct. God, he didn't deserve you. Guilt still travels freely within him, especially as he feels the coolness of your own wedding ring against his cheek; you had looked after your ring with so much care.
"I'm sorry love."
You smile but you release the touch on his face in favour of grasping his hand in comfort.
"It's okay, now come on, let's retrace your steps shall we?"
The next few hours are spent all around the Sunny, every room Sanji had been in before he remembered losing the ring was searched from the roof to the floor. You asked your crewmates if they had seen the mix of gold and blue you both are so adamant to find, had looked in every small crevice that may contain the precious jewellery. And as the sun started to dim, you were now looking in your shared chambers one last time.
Your hair was ruffled like his, clothes wrinkled under the time spent trying to find the ring, but to Sanji, you were still the beautiful, thoughtful and loving wife he married. You had spent all day trying to find something due to his own mistake, and he was never more regretful for losing the wedding band, nor more grateful for having you as his wife than he was now. Moments pass in silence, but finally, you let out a delighted gasp.
"Sanji!!"
Your husband instantly perks up from the other side of the room and in your hands is the wedding band, finally found. Your smile is wide, as you quickly run over to him, taking his hand and sliding it on his ring finger where it lay as perfect as it did all that time ago at your wedding. Sanji meets your gaze with such gratitude he cannot describe and impatiently presses his lips to yours. You smile as you return his fervour and pull away.
"Thank you, my love."
You let out light laughter as you roll your eyes.
"Of course, I am your wife you know? You can come to me about these things."
Sanji's heart warms even more than he thought possible as he tucks away a loose strand of hair from your face, admiring your features.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
Sanji makes you your favourite dinner and dessert as a thank you for your help and your love. You never see him without the ring on his person, again.
- Zoro -
Among the straw hats, Zoro seemed the least likely to be intertwined with thoughts of love and rings and weddings, well at least that's what the Strawhat crew initially thought. But as time passed, he fell for you, and what would you know, suddenly he is asking Robin and Nami about weddings and dresses and ceremonies; how it works, what would you like, how soon could he pledge his love and you yours? In utter reluctance and on rare occasions he would even approach the 'idiot cook' for advice; something he would often regret afterwards.
But suddenly, the two of you were married and had rings on your fingers and he was your husband and you were his wife. The ring he got you was surprisingly thoughtful, and you knew the girls had something to do with it as it looked so much like how you wished it to be when you talked to them. His was simple. A gold band, but on the underside there etched your name. He very rarely took it off, and it became a part of him just like the earrings he wore or the three swords always at his hip; secretly finding strength in the piece of your love always present.
Zoro is a man, adamant about loyalty, and it is one of the things he adored most about you. The rings symbolised that for him; that an oath had been pledged and the two of you belonged to the other. It was something you both took pride in every day, and he found satisfaction watching the crestfallen faces of men when they spotted your wedding ring, just as you did when you saw women leave him be when they spotted his wedding band. He took care of it and treasured it, more than he would allow you to know, so he is honestly shocked when one day, he finds it missing.
Zoro feels cold sweat rising on his skin, and he honestly can't remember a time he felt more stressed. He is looking down at his hands again and again, as though he can't believe the absence of jewellery he always had on his finger.
He looks frantically around your shared chambers, looking in drawers of bedside tables, under the bed, and every nook where gold might enter his vision. He spent many moments, searching in utter silence, but he finds no semblance of a ring anywhere.
The door suddenly creaks and Zoro stands upright, hair and clothes slightly ruffled, swords leant against the wall in his haste to find the missing ring. You enter your room, looking up in surprise at the rare presence of your husband in the middle of the day, but it was lucky for you as you had been searching for him.
"Zoro," you smile, before your eyebrows pull together in confusion. "Are you okay? I thought you're usually in the crow's nest about this time?"
Your husband freezes, static under the weight of your searching eyes and scouring for an excuse. You step closer, and instantly his hands go behind his back, causing you to stare at him in bewilderment at his strange behaviour. You eye his discomposure, his hidden hands and his guilty expression with suspicion.
"Zoro what are you hiding?"
"N-nothing woman just got up from a nap. I'll be in the crow's nest-"
He doesn't let you continue your words and is out the door in a swift movement. You frown but shrug looking down into your hands. Ussop had found Zoro's wedding band in the bathroom, no doubt from the shower you had somehow forced him into this morning. You had simply wanted to give it back but decided to wait until a better time when he wasn't in such a hurry to get to his training. As you are about to let the matter go, however, you spot three familiar swords on the wall of your room where Zoro left them.
You frown at the sight, just what was your husband up to?
Meanwhile, Zoro is moving at speed throughout the Sunny, every room he barges in, searching in what he hopes is discretion before running off in frustration again. Many times he left his crewmembers in utter surprise at his uncharacteristic demeanour, usually he was training or napping, not found running around deck in discomposure.
You had bumped into a few of your friends who shared the same concern you had earlier; his strange behaviour and franticity. Nami complained that he had barged in while she was making a map, ruined due to her shock, Robin said that she had been reading on deck when he had been looking closely at the floor for something, Luffy exclaimed that he thought he was looking for some sort of treasure but quickly left in his boredom of nothing found.
You start to put the pieces together and begin to realise, that he was looking for something. And that something was probably the ring the Ussop had turned to you, so even if Zoro did check the bathroom it wouldn't have been there for him to find. You sigh as you quickly get up, trying to find him, Robin assuring that she had last seen him enter the kitchen and with the sounds of two men fighting, you supposed she was right.
When you open the door to the kitchen, Sanji and Zoro who seemed as though they had been arguing look at you blankly before crossing their arms and looking away from the other. You hear Zoro murmur something along the lines of, "Don't tell her," but you ignore it, hoping to relieve the tension in the room.
"Hey guys, everything alright?"
You ask, and Sanji sighs at your words before walking out of the kitchen; he seemed disappointed in your husband, more than usual. "I'll be outside [y/n]-san." You turn back to your boyfriend in Sanji's absence and you furrow your brows in concern.
"Zoro-"
"I lost my wedding band."
Zoro interrupts you before you can continue or pass him the ring in your grasp. You pause at the abruptness of his words, and the surprising amount of regret and hurt in his downcast eyes; he looked as though he had failed you.
"Zoro, it's okay I-"
"No, it's not okay, dammit." He looks to you then, and his eyes betray the stress and worry he had held onto all day, softening at the sight of his wife - you - looking at him in concern when he has just lost a treasured possession you had given him. You watch the way your husband's eyebrows pull together, and a frown makes its way to your face at the sight of him so worked up over the ring.
"It was my wedding band, a part of an oath we pledged on our wedding day, and I- I lost it. I should've looked after it better, I know that. I'm sorry."
You look, wide-eyed at the sight of the swordsman apologising to you. One of the rare times he would, but you realise now how much he placed importance on what the ring symbolised and what guilt must've filled his senses at his readiness for your disappointment. You step forward, caressing the curve of his face with one hand, as his eyes look at you, emotion betraying his eyes, but you smile softly and unravel your other hand. A moment of shock enters your husband's vision at the sight of the golden band he had almost turned the ship over for.
You smile sheepishly then, "I'm sorry, I tried telling you and giving it to you earlier but you were, you know, you seemed busy. Ussop found it in the bathroom."
You expect him to become irritated, having searched so long for something already found, but instead, Zoro smiles wide, kissing your lips suddenly in one swift movement. When he pulls away, he puts the ring back on his finger, satisfied by the light weight of it on his hand. "Thank God," he murmurs before looking at you so determinately it makes you blush. "I won't lose it again." You collect yourself before nodding, warmth spreading in your chest at his rare emotion in front of your eyes.
"I know you won't."

I love your writing so much aaaa (â ïŸïŸâ 0ïŸâ )â ïŸ
I need the monster trio's reaction to reader calling them "husband", could be an accident or intentional I just need it pls!!!! ( TïčT )

pairings: monster trio x female reader
cw: reader is referred to as "wife", mention of suffocating/drowning in sanji's part, not proofread, probably contains grammar mistakes, english isn't my first language!!
wc: 1.3k+
â (a/n): tysm!! <33 i like writing for one piece characters so I love it when I get more requests for them >.< also, so sorry if this feels boring or short!! :(( -> m.list
â LUFFY
Luffy loves it when you introduce him to new people, but he's usually too distracted to pay attention. Until you call him your husband.
The moment the word leaves your mouth, his face lights up.
He repeats it INSTANTLY, grinning ear to ear. "Husband? That's me, right? You mean me?"
If you try to play it off and say it was a mistake, he ignores your protests and laughs. If he likes it, he likes it. And you're gonna keep calling him that, no matter what!!
He immediately starts calling you "wife" in return, but in the most casual way, like it's completely normal.
He doesn't fully understand what marriage means in a traditional sense, but to him, being your husband means you're his person.
If the crew hears about it, they all would have different reactions. Zoro snorts, Nami fights the urge to roll her eyes, and Sanji almost faints in disbelief.
Luffy, however, is completely unbothered.
If you tell him later that you only said it as a slip up, he just smiles and says "But you could mean it, right?"
He doesn't let it go. He starts using it as an excuse to do things for you. "Husbands have to share their food."
*Cue him stealing from your plate instead*
He loves how you blush when he casually refers to himself as your husband mid conversation.
If you ever genuinely called him that again, he'd get the biggest grin ever and he won't stop talking about it for hours.
He doesn't care about official ceremonies or rings. If you called him your husband once, that's enough for him.
âââ â
You were introducing the crew to a kind old shopkeeper on an island, someone who had been chatting with you warmly for the past few minutes.
"Oh, and this is my husband, Luffy." You added casually, not even realizing it until the words were already out. You meant captain, not husband. At least that's what you wanted to believe.
Luffy blinked, tilting his head to the side, before a wide grin formed on his lips. "Yeah, that's me, I'm her husband!"
Wait, what? You froze, stiffened, locked in place. Did he seriously just agree?
The shopkeeper chuckled, a warm smile glued to their lips. "Well, aren't you two adorable? How long have you been married for?"
You opened your mouth to correct them, but Luffy beat you to it. "Long enough!" He answered confidently, throwing an arm around your shoulder.
You looked at him, eyes wide, stunned. He just grinned at you, completely unbothered. You sighed, deciding to let it go. For now.
â ZORO
Zoro is not the type to get flustered easily, but calling him your husband? Yeah, that'll do it.
He'd be calm on the outside, but on the inside, he's replaying that moment over and over again.
If you called him that in front of strangers, like introducing him as your husband to avoid weirdos, he'd immediately go along with it.
He doesn't see the need to correct you. If you called him that, then fine. That's what he is now.
If someone asked when you got married, he'll just say "None of your business." and move on.
He secretly enjoys watching you get flustered after realizing what you said, trying to cover it up and say it was just a small mistake.
"Didn't know you were that eager to make it official."
If Sanji overheard, it would be war. "YOU?! HOW DARE YOUâ" "Shut up, cook. She said it herself."
He says "cook" as if it's a slur.
If you apologized later for the slip up, he would just simply shrug, saying that it's just some words, but the slight redness on his ears would say otherwise.
He wouldn't bring it up much, but if someone else called him your boyfriend or anything else, he'd correct them. "Husband." No explanation.
Zoro starts to lowkey like the title, but he would NEVER admit it.
He doesn't joke about things like this. If you seriously wanted to be with him in that way, he'd take it 100% seriously.
If you actually bring up the idea of marriage later, he's going to instantly agree.
He starts calling you "wife" just to mess with you!!
âââ â
You were traveling through a town when an unfamiliar man started hitting on you. He was persistent, and you were quickly running out of patience.
Then, without thinking, you gestured toward Zoro. "Sorry, I'm here with my husband." You sighed as the man's gaze followed the direction you were pointing at.
You immediately regretted it. Zoro turned his head slightly, raising an eyebrow. The man scowled but backed off, muttering an apology before walking away.
You exhaled in relief, until you felt Zoro's gaze on you.
"Husband, huh?" He muttered, amused.
Your face burned, heart beat quickening. "I just said that to get rid of him."
The corners of Zoro's lips tugged upwards, forming a smirk. "Didn't mind it." He kept walking like nothing happened, leaving you flustered.
â SANJI
Sanji freezes completely the second you call him your husband.
For a split second, he actually imagined it. Being your husband. Starting a family. Then his brain shut down.
If you were introducing him to someone that way, he'd try to act normal, but would fail miserably. "Y-Yes, that's right, I'm herâ herâ her husband, yesâ"
His heart would be racing.
If you called him that to avoid someone flirting with you, he'd immediately play along, but also fall deeply in love with you all over again.
If you told him later it was just a slip up, a small and meaningless mistake, he would dramatically explain the feelings he had in that very second. "For a moment, I lived in paradise."
He would start calling you "my wife" at every opportunity. "Oh, my darling wife, allow me toâ" "Sanji, stop."
If someone else flirted with you after that, he's quick to place himself in the middle of you and the other person. "I'm her husband, thanks."
I swear bro this man is SO sassy.
Sanji would start daydreaming about an actual wedding. He also gets more protective than usual, standing a little closer, guiding you with a hand on your back.
If you genuinely meant it, he'd be the happiest man alive.
He swears to be the best husband in the world, treat you amazingly, kiss the ground you walk on.
Sanji will never, ever forget the moment you called him that. The moment you called him your husband. Those words remain imprinted in his mind, locked in a special place.
âââ â
You were in a crowded restaurant, and the waiter was getting a little bit too flirty for your liking. So, without thinking, you immediately decided to shut him down, but not directly. "My husband will have the same order as me."
Sanji knocked over his glass of water, almost choking as he coughed severely. You turned to see him frozen, eyes wide, face completely red. You groaned, pinching your nose bridge. Here we go...
"Say it again, love." Sanji literally sparkled, practically glowing. His eyes held a childish shine, which you couldn't help but describe as adorable.
You sighed. "It was justâ"
"Say it again."
You buried your face in your hands, already feeling your heart beat increasing. Gosh, why did he have to be so handsome?
"Sanji, stop." You mumbled, resting your chin in your palm, elbow propped up on the table.
"My darling wife, pleaseâ"
"Sanji I swear that if you don't stop this, I will hold you down underwater and watch you suffocate."
"I wouldn't mind that one bit. Dying by your hands is an honor, sweetheart." He winked, smiling as he leaned in closer, giving you a soft kiss on the lips.
He drove you insane. But in the best way possible.

Carrying YouÂ
Summary: How do they carry you?
Characters: Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Ace, Sabo, Law, Kid
Genre: Fluff
CW: None // SFW
âââÂ
Luffy:Â
We all know heâs a potato sack kinda guy. When he wants to, heâll just throw you over his shoulder and thatâs that. Notorious for reaching all the way across the deck of the Sunny, wrapping his arm around your waist, and snatching you up.Â
Zoro:Â
Another type to just throw you over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. Heâll smack your ass every time he does, too, and tell you to stop complaining if you dare say something. Heâs been known to do this in an argument.Â
Sanji:Â
Bridal style. Always bridal style. He sweeps you off your feet, handling you with great care, and makes sure not to jostle you around too much. Heâll carry you any time, day or night, always happy to have you in his arms.Â
Ace:Â
Piggyback rides all the way. He loves having you on his back because he can move at his fast pace and keep you with him. He also puts you on his shoulders to carry you around because why wouldnât he? Very happy for you to climb him like a tree. Â
Sabo:Â
Always picks you up off the counter or desk or somewhere youâre sitting, grinning when you wrap your legs around his waist and cling to him like a koala bear. Definitely not above tucking you under his arm for safekeeping.Â
Law:Â
Not the most handsy, though he has been known to pick you up against your will when youâre overworking yourself and take you back to his cabin. How he carries you depends on how difficult you make it. If youâre nice, heâll carry you bridal style, but if you put up a fight, over his shoulder you go. Â
Kid:Â
Grins when you come behind him and attempt to lift him off the ground, failing miserably due to his size, turns around and does the same to you but with far more success. He takes advantage of the size difference and manhandles you all day long.Â

sleeping separately after an argument pt. 1
SFW
characters: luffy, zoro, usopp, and sanji x fem! reader summary: how the strawhat boys would react to you sleeping alone after an argument CW: mainly fluff, slight angst others: not proofread, lowercase intended, and pictures found on pinterest

âââââ
Monkey D. Luffy
luffy doesn't handle conflict well, especially not one with someone he cares deeply about. after the argument you guys had earlier, he would never suspected that you would sleep else where for the night.
at first, he would brush it off, thinking you just needed some space and that you would return to your shared room soon. but, as the night wore on, he'd find himself restless. constantly tossing and turning unable to lay as comfortably as before now that he was alone. luffy would eventually get up and wander over to your old room.
knowing him heâd poke your face (gently of course) while whispering, "hey, are you still mad at me?" his big eyes would reflect genuine concern and confusion. but because you were asleep you couldnât respond, so he would get into your bed and curl up next to you, determined to be close even if you were still upset. youâd wake up the next day to a goofy grin and a sincere apology, as he was eager to make things right.
Roronoa Zoro
arguments with zoro are often intense but short-lived. so when you decide to sleep separately after a fight, zoro (like luffy) would be taken aback. however he, unlike luffy, would initially be too proud to go after you. so instead heâd brood silently, replaying the argument in his head while sharpening his swords.
you were the dramatic one. right?
as the night deepened, his stoic façade would crack, causing the gnawing sense of regret to seep in. heâd eventually get up, quietly making his way to your old room.
âbabe?â his voice was uncharacteristically soft cautiously enters the room. after seeing your sleeping figure his demeanor immediately softens.
without a word, he'd lie down on the floor next to your bed, his presence a silent apology. he would wake up before you like usual but after breakfast he would pull you aside giving you a gruff but sincere apology, his actions speaking louder than his words.
God Ussop
usopp is sensitive and prone to overthinking. after any argument, he'd probably be filled with anxiety and self-doubt. which would worsen after you decide to sleep separately. he'd pace around, muttering to himself and crafting elaborate scenarios in his head of what this could mean.
is this it?
do you not love him anymore?
were you going to break up with him?
eventually, he'd muster the courage to approach you, armed with a heartfelt speech. ready to kneel beside you and pour his heart out with the promise to do better. but after walking to your old room and seeing you sleep so soundly his resolve would soften. not wanting to wake you he would leave telling himself that heâd apologize in the morning.
instead of going to bed though he would go to his factory deciding to make you a small gift to show his sincerity. he would place that along with a short an apology letter by your door. hoping to give you a better apology in the morning.
Vinsmoke Sanji
sanji would be devastated if you chose to sleep separately after an argument. unlike usopp, he wouldnât overthink it. he knows you love him just needed some space. despite thinking that, he would never let you go to sleep upset especially not at him.
so he'd spend the majority of the night in the kitchen, preparing ingredients for tomorrow and making you a midnight snack.
with a tray of food on hand heâd softly knocks on the door of your old bedroom, his voice both gentle and cautious. âmy love? i brought food. can i come in so we can talk?â
your lights were on so he knew you were up, after waiting for a minute or so he would let out a relieved sigh as you opened the door and making room for him to enter.
you guys would spend the rest of the night talking about your argument except this time with a much clearer head. once he knew that you both were on the same page he would bring you back to your share room to sleep.
âââââ
hi guys! thanks for reading, this is my first attempt at writing hc so idk if i did it right lol but it was fun!! i also have a couple more characters in my draft using this idea. iâll post them if this does well (fingers crossed).

just think of getting mad at tall men.
those who tower over you easily with their height, so naturally intimidating to those around them. able to pick you up with one arm like a small child and make you feel small and insignificant in their presence no matter your own size.
who really shouldn't be scared when you're screaming their ears off. in fact, it should be cute when your finger is pointing up at them, small frame trying to intimidate him as you scold them.
but when your neck starts to ache looking up at them, and you tell them to "sit the fuck down!"
they do it.

Could you maybe do smth like cuddling with sukuna
đđ
Backs facing each other, you gently nudge his legs with your foot, smiling as youâre able to wiggle it between his calves. He traps your foot between his legs, and you giggle when you try to pull it back.
âIâm on insta, fuck off,â he grumbles, but you hear the annoyed smile in his voice.
âI wanna snuggle,â you mewl.
âYeah, and I want to see how this dude makes this garlic bread.â
You slip your own phone off the nightstand and open your message app, clicking his name and quickly typing.
SENT I want attention, boyfriend đ«¶đ»
You hear him snort and blunt nails briefly scratch down the sole of your trapped foot, making you try to tug it back and squeal in surprise. âYou want attention?â He begins, letting go of your foot so heâs able to turn on his side and spoon you from behind, body contorting to be straight curled behind you. âWell let me tell you something- I always give you my damn attention. You just canât live without it.â
You practically purr as he loops his arms around you, tugging you closer and letting his warm hands slip under your hoodie, warm touch on your tummy relaxing you. âYouâre right,â you hum. âI just want you all to myself all the time. Not my fault you give in.â He hikes up his voice to offer you a mocking âmi meh mi meh miââs. You call him a brat in reply.
âIf you wonât let me scroll on my instagram, scroll on yours so I can watch,â he demands.
âI canât, I follow naked anime men.â
âIm sure youâre joking, but so help me god if you go on Instagram and thereâs a naked anime man, Iâm blowing up your phone.â You offer him a laugh and slip out your phone to scroll, relishing in the little kiss he plants to your jawline, then adjusting his head to be able to watch your timeline with you.
You canât help but grin as you feel one of his feet prod to try and get between your legs, mimicking how yours was just moments ago.

just thinking abt relationship dynamics with the op boys <33
EVERYONE IS 18+ (minors dni)
a/n: currently have one piece brain rot and it is consuming me so hereâs this! fem!reader and very suggestive + mentions sex, but no actual smut. NOT PROOFREAD đđ»
donât forget to like, reblog, comment, and follow to support my work! it always makes me day mwah
âof course iâm seriousâ
luffy:
in usual luffy fashion, one of your very first interactions ends with him trying to convince you to join his pirate crew
at first youâre hesitant, rightfully so, having just met the guy
however, youâre quickly persuaded by his happy-go-lucky personality and loyalty to his crew
after finally joining the crew yourself, your relationship with luffy gradually melts from just being friendly crew mates to being so close that you would put your life on the line for him at a momentâs notice
he seems to have that effect on people
while you grow close with all of the strawhats, your relationship with luffy is different
within a few months you already feel like youâve known him your entire life
the two of you never have a dull moment together
while you love to entertain his antics, you also know when to stay level headed and keep him grounded
and while your work ethic is always valued on the ship, luffy can always get you to relax and have a good laugh when you need a break
eventually the two of you start to literally finish each otherâs sentences, and it freaks everyone else out every time
you balance each other out perfectly
the two of you can talk and laugh for hours and not get tired of each otherâs company
definitely tries to teach you a little portuguese but does not have the patience
you guys have friendship bracelets and he never takes his off
over the years, your relationship begins to grow from best friends to something more
you notice the shift far before luffy does
luffy picks up on little changes, like the weird tingly feeling he gets in his stomach when he makes you laugh
he doesnât really think much of it though and brushes it off
probably assumes heâs just hungryâŠ
in fact, luffy probably doesnât really comprehend his feelings until someone spells it out for him, but in his head it doesnât really change anything
youâve always been his go to, and that wonât change now
the shift from platonic to romantic is gradual, natural, and if you ask robin, entirely inevitable
(she predicted this from the very beginning when the crew met you in your hometown)
heâs confident and honest with you in sharing the way he feels once he comes to the realization, and you allow him the same courtesy
he doesnât feel any reason to hide or be embarrassed about his feelings
to him, being your boyfriend just means being your best friend except better because you get to hold hands and kiss and stuff
nothing is awkward when you start dating
it just feels right
heâs always been a very touchy person, even before you started dating
now that youâre together though, he loves cuddling
sleeping just isnât as comfy anymore if he isnât laying on you
definitely bites you sometimes and he says itâs because youâre so awesome that he doesnât know what else to do with himself
he holds your hand all the time and likes to swing them back and forth when you walk together
he also likes to carry you on his shoulders because it makes you laugh
he doesnât really use pet names for you often, if at all, but he really likes it when you use them for him
will, however, give you absolutely ridiculous nicknames that he finds cute
he has obviously never had a girlfriend before you
he wasnât really concerned with romance or sex at all actually until you
you definitely have to teach him a lot
like what youâd like to do on dates
and how to kiss
luffy didnât really understand the appeal of kissing, but you seemed to want to do it so he figured heâd give it a try
after kissing you for the first time he canât get enough
definitely understands now
a super messy kisser (ofc)
gets giddy when you smile or laugh into his kisses
he smiles into your kisses a lot himself because heâs just so happy to be with you
you also have to teach him about the concept of pda and public etiquette, because otherwise he just does not care and will literally start making out with you in front of the entire crew simply because he wants to kiss you
sex is of course also very new to luffy, and like kissing, he does not understand the appeal until you test the waters with him and his mind is blown
he didnât realize it would be so fun
itâs almost always sloppy, but heâs very attentive to your requests and desires
he takes in everything you teach him and improves upon it, because he loves making you happy more than anything
kind of a little shit sometimes though because he definitely overstimulates you without even realizing it
never intentionally mean though, but can be a huge tease entirely by accident
loves giving you pretty things he finds like rocks, shells, and any cool trinkets he finds laying around
he just gets so excited to share everything with you, and youâre always the first person he wants to talk to about everything
even if it seems as simple as finding a cool rock
other than sprinkling in more couple-y things, your relationship dynamic really does remain the same as it had always been, best friends
the two of you never take life too seriously, and just allow yourselves to enjoy each otherâs company
luffy may not be the most âromanticâ boyfriend in a traditional sense, but he will do absolutely anything to see you happy and safe, and you the same for him
he doesnât need to do any grand gestures to give you butterflies in your stomach
you are each otherâs safe space
the two of you said the L word to each other well before you became a couple, but the first time he says it romantically is when you personally cook a three course meal and bake him his favorite sweets to celebrate his birthday
saying those words to each other feels so natural that you almost donât realize you hadnât been saying it this whole time until now
will willingly share his food with you if you ask, which is genuinely mind blowing to everyone including yourself
if he proposes to you it will be super out of the blue and unplanned, completely catching you off guard
the two of you could just be talking, having a normal conversation, maybe getting some work done around the ship, when all of a sudden heâs just like
âhey, do you wanna get married?â
probably heard sanji talking about weddings or something and was like, oh! weâre in love, we should get married too!
obviously you canât legally get married being pirates trying to slip under marine radar, so luffy has franky make you both simple rings out of pieces of sea glass you picked out
the rings have each otherâs initials engraved into them
after that, the two of you consider yourselves married and the rest of the crew follows suit
not much changes in your relationship other than your titles
heâll proudly tell people youâre his wife if you do something cool in a fight or someone asks about you or something
but even without a proposal or a ring, the two of you were always going to be forever
zoro:
when you first meet zoro, you see him as cocky, brazen, and extremely annoying
the two of you clash almost immediately
after luffy somehow manages to convince you to join the crew, the close proximity only makes it worse
the two of you are constantly at each otherâs throats, taking any opportunity to push each otherâs buttons
nami often jokes that âthe two of you bicker like an old married coupleâ, which does not go over well with either of you
for months the two of you are rivals, making everything a competition to see whoâs better than the other
however, after a while you begin to see zoroâs true colors through the cracks
his dedication to his craft, the respect he has for luffy, the kindness he tries to mask beneath a hardened exterior, and his absolute undying loyalty
it makes you begin to wonder why you began to dislike him in the first place
over time, your bickering becomes less venomous and more playful, bantering back and forth for the fun of it
you pick up new habits like sparring with zoro every day, telling him itâs because âthe only way to beat your rival is to know his weaknessesâ
or zoro waking you up at the crack of dawn to do laps around the deck because he heard you say you werenât a morning person once, except he brings you coffee exactly the way you like it, every time
eventually your relationship snowballs into friendship
the two of you still bicker and banter, butting heads every once in a while
but now you also laugh at each otherâs jokes
and sit together in comfortable silence just to be in each otherâs presence
and eventually, you get to the point where the two of you can share your deepest, darkest secrets, fears, and desires, that nobody else is allowed to hear
he makes you feel safe, and you know you are with him
without even realizing it, your relationship starts sinking into something much deeper than friendship
whenever youâre off the ship, zoro is almost always at your side, practically attached to you, making sure youâre never in harms way
the two of you can basically read each otherâs minds, seemingly able to communicate without a single word shared between you
neither of you are even conscious of your feelings for one another until nami catches the two of you sound asleep on the desk with your head resting in zoroâs lap and runs to tell usopp
when you do begin to realize how you feel, neither of you bring it up, too afraid to ruin what you already have
but you donât need to
your bodies and minds are practically interlinked, bending at each otherâs will
your relationship stays mostly the same, only gradually and organically becoming closer
running errands together on new islands, napping together more often than you do apart, sitting next to each other during meals, etc
eventually your mutual feelings become almost unbearable, and you finally cross the line between friends and lovers
you would probably have to be the one to make the first move, because not only is zoro insanely stubborm, but heâs also uncharacteristically easily flustered
your first kiss feels like pieces clicking into place, or feeling the warmth of the sun in the dead of winter
as cheesy as it sounds, it feels like home
thereâs no conversation about feelings, or asking you to be his girlfriend, you just are
like all the seasons of your relationship, the shift is slow, and goes unnoticed for a while by most of your crew mates
robin, nami, and usopp are the first to notice, seeing you fall asleep against his chest instead of his lap, or seeing you whispering secret conversations up in the crows nest when you think the others are asleep
eventually everyone is made aware of your relationship when you challenge zoro to a drinking game at a party, ending with you getting drunk off your ass and kissing him before immediately passing out against his shoulder
zoro is not a fan of pda, so for the most part, your relationship remains the same around the crew and on islands
still bickering and making up stupid competitions to challenge yourselves, but now theres a softer, more intimate side to your relationship
he will occasionally do passive agressieve little things to rub your relationship in sanjiâs face though if heâs flirting with you too much for his liking
like whispering something dirty in your ear to make you get all flustered, or wrapping his arm around your waist to guide you into the dining room
he partly does it to get a rise out of sanji, sure, but mostly because he loves the reaction it gets out of you
the bond you share is clearly special, and thats something that everyone can see
however, your relationship is much different when youâre alone
itâs much more domestic
quieter
you know each other like the back of your hands at this point, so sometimes theres no need for words
the silence is soothing
other times, the two of you can talk for hours
heâll gladly listen to you ramble on about anything and everything thats on your mind if you want to
and heâll hang onto every word
heâs also a bit more touchy and vocal in private
heâll massage your sore muscles after a particularly tough sparring session
or rub his thumb across your hip where he holds you against his chest, mumbling compliments into your hair
heâs another man who never really thought about relationships until you came along, so heâs quite inexperienced in a lot of areas
he picks up quickly and adapts, following the signals that your body sends him and adjusting accordingly
sex with him is either extremely intimate and gentle, or heâs being a total pain in the ass and teasing the shit out of you
either way, heâs hyper aware of your every move and action
his main objective is always to please you, because he quite literally would do anything for you
in his eyes you deserve the world handed to you on a silver platter, and he wants to be the one holding the plate
neither of you need to hear the words to know that you love each other irrevocably
you can see it in every move that he makes, and he can hear it in the beating of your heart
when the words are shared itâs in the hushed privacy that only you will ever share, or after a particularly life threatening battle
zoro knows that heâs yours forever like he knows he needs oxygen to breathe, but heâs also not a sappy romantic like the cook
he would bring up the idea of marriage in casual conversation to see where your head is at
the two of you have extremely healthy communication, always 100% honest with each other
if you donât like the idea of marriage he would drop the subject and never bring it up again, content to just be with you
but if you do like the idea of getting married, he would propose right then (very informally)
âwhy donât we get married then?â
âare you serious?â
âof course iâm serious. letâs get married.â
the two of you would pick out simple wedding bands on the next island you docked at, stealing away for the day to allow yourselves to bask in your new beginning
the rest of the crew would also totally freak out at dinner when they see the sparkling new jewelry adorning your fingers
sanji:
as we all know, sanji is a lover of women
heâs also a hopeless romantic
from the moment you join the crew, heâs completely head over heels
he thinks you are absolutely the most stunning woman heâs ever laid eyes on in his life
while he dotes on you, you donât really pay him any mind at all at first
you see the way he treats other women, and you know heâs simply a flirt by nature, so why would it be any different when itâs aimed towards you?
and it first, itâs really not that much different
he just finds you mesmerizing, but itâs nothing more than an infatuation
but as some time goes by and he and the rest of crew get to know you, it turns into something more
you become friends first, quickly forming a strong bond
you keep him company while he cooks, allowing him to teach you different techniques and recipes
you listen to him talk about his dreams, and he returns the favor, judgement free
sanji quickly realizes heâs fallen for you
like for real
the feeling scares him at first, never having felt so many intense emotions about one person before
but the fear is quickly overcome by determination to devote himself to you in every way
he takes care of your every need, defends your honor when necessary, and is always there for you when you need a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on
you donât catch onto your feelings until months after sanji pinpointed his, long after you had already plummeted far away from feelings that could be considered platonic
you make the first move, and neither of you hesitate to leap right into it
he setâs up dates for the two of you frequently
compliments you up and down, every word sincere
he gets super flustered and giddy when you compliment his cooking
never forgets an anniversary, valentines day, or your birthday, and always goes all out to make sure itâs extra special for you
sanji isnât inexperienced per-se, but he also hasnât been with many women
however, he has a talent for this sort of thing, and his movements are smooth and fluid, never unsure
he kisses you like a man starved, gentle at first, quickly becoming more passionate and hungry because youâre absolutely irresistible
heâs handles you the same way in the bedroom
gentle and passionate
sanji always finds a way to make sex super romantic
he likes to hold your hand, and give you kisses, and tell you how much he loves you
he has a CD burned with a bunch of super sweet love songs, and it doubles as a slow dance playlist and a sex playlist
after you become official, itâs no secret to the crew
sanji is practically shouting it from the rooftops
heâs even more over the top than before, waiting on you hand and foot
loves holding you, and intertwining your fingers when the two of you go looking for ingredients on whatever island youâre docked at
loves hugs and cuddles obviously
always holds doors open for you, pulls out your chair, offers you his coat, and kisses your hand like a proper gentleman
also uses so many pet names for you that you canât even keep track of them all
still a massive flirt even though youâre already his, and reaffirm that truth every single day
your relationship is very flirty in general
he can dish it out way better than he can take it
he gets flustered sooooo easily when you give him a taste of his own medicine
even though heâs quite eccentric in the way he loves you, he can also be really soft when the momentâs right
the two of you can giggle about stupid hypotheticals one second and be having a deep philosophical conversation the next
sanji tells you he loves you for the first time within like the first 3 weeks of you dating
and he means it 100% too
he absolutely worships you and thinks he must have been a saint in a past life to be able to deserve you reciprocating his feelings
sanjiâs known since the very beginning that he was going to marry you some day
as romantic as he is, he cooks you a wonderful meal, just for the two of you
he lights up the place with dozens of candles and rose petals scattered everywhere
and by some miracle he summons the will power to get through dinner with you, before finally beginning his long speech, pouring out all of his love for you like poetry
he kneels on one knee before you, and the ring is barley slipped onto your finger before he has your back pressed against the kitchen counter
oops!
the two of you throw a little ceremony with the crew on the next island you dock at, with vows and a dress and everything
sanji refused to let you settle for anything less than perfect, because you deserved to have a real wedding
his vows are gut wrenchingly gorgeous btw
cries when he sees you walking down the aisle
he makes sure to call you âmy wifeâ as much as humanly possible, and kisses your ring all the time
usopp:
you and usopp became friends pretty much the second you joined the crew
you both have such a similar sense of humor, and you love listening to his ridiculous stories
he lovessss gossiping with you and itâs your favorite pastime
and of course you help him craft his weapons
the two of you are basically inseperable
you do absolutely everything together
you help each other get through your day to day tasks, talking and joking your way through them
you watch him practice his aim and cheer him on
you like laying down together and looking at the shapes the clouds make
you sit next to each other at meals most of the time so that you can gossip with your eyes
but sometimes if you sit across from each other you have staring contests
you donât know when or how it happened, but somewhere over the years you and usopp fell desperately in love with each other
everyone knows how you feel for each other, hell even you know how usopp feels about you, but heâs completely oblivious to it all
the only reason you havenât made a move yet is because nami made a bet with you to see how long it takes him to fess up, and neither of you are allowed to âinterfereâ
he finally confesses to you one night after a long celebration for another strawhat victory
you always make fun of him for being such a lightweight, but tonight it really shows
completely wasted after only two shots, he finally professes his love for you
nami won the bet, but you honestly couldnât care less
the next day heâs probably super embarrassed, but once you tell him you feel the same way heâs SO relieved
he gets flustered so easily itâs a little humorous
you barely even have to do anything to make him a blushing stuttering mess
most of the time you do it by accident
he has a staring problem because everything you do is so mesmerizing to him
you take your relationship fairly slow
he gets insanely flustered every time you hold his hand
he LOVES cuddling but he has to hide his face against you because he gets so dazed just by being so close to you
the first time you kissed him he almost passed out
he cannot believe you actually want to be with him
once heâs more comfortable with the concept that you really do want him as much as he wants you, he kisses you all the time
your cheeks, your nose, your forehead, your knuckles, and most importantly, your lips
his kisses are gentle and cautious at first, growing more confident the longer youâre together, but still always soft
the crew thinks youâre the cutest couple ever, sometimes disgustingly so
usopp is extremely inexperienced, despite the stories he tells that suggest otherwise, so you make sure to let him set the pace
when heâs ready to take the relationship a step further, heâs a bit clumsy at first, but eager to learn
talks a big game, but when it comes down to it he always âlets youâ take the lead
loves bragging about you and telling people that youâre his girlfriend
heâs just so proud to be with you
literally thinks youâre the coolest person ever
you guys are still best friends even though youâre also so much more than that
you still gossip, and do your work together, and make ridiculous jokes, and are there for each other no matter what
if marriage is something you want, you would have to hint at it heavy
because he is not going to come up with the idea to propose otherwise
not because he doesnât want to marry you, but simply because heâs never even thought about marriage like that before
it take him weeks to work up the courage to finally propose, but he would do it all âthe right wayâ because you deserve a real proposal
takes you out on the deck to watch the sunset and then heâs down on one knee with a ring box in hand
gets teary eyed asking you to marry him, and cries happy tears with you when you say yes
you would have a simple ceremony on the ship, just vows, rings, and a kiss, and just like that, youâre husband and wife
chopper would 100% be the ring bearer and nami would be the flower girl
brags about you, and makes sure to include you in all of his stories
no matter how long you guys have been together, his wild imagination never gets old
law:
you were on the brink of death when law found you, taking you onto the polar tang to perform a life saving operation
you could barely remember what even caused the injuries in the first place by the time you woke up, but you had never been more grateful in your entire life
you owed youâre life to him
so you insisted on joining his crew, promising to repay him for saving your life, even though he assured you it wasnât necessary
you stayed anyways of course
your relationship started out strictly professional
he was the captain, and you were the crewmate
you were friendly with each other of course, but that was the extent of it
over time, you grew closer
you started getting tasked with him with his personal tasks while he worked, allowing the two of you to spend a lot of time in each otherâs company
eventually your simple conversations became staying for hours after all the work had been completed just so that you could continue talking
you bonded over similar interests and shared knowledge, realizing you had more in common than you initially thought
after that the years seemed to fly by, blossoming friendship getting stronger until you could practically read each otherâs thoughts, and then one day it all became much bigger than either of you had anticipated
you have both somehow managed to fall in love with each other, and neither of you dared to speak a word of it to anyone, even yourselves
youâre too scared of being rejected and humiliated, and law is absolutely terrified of being in love at all
he has absolutely no idea how to handle his feelings, so instead he bottles them up and stores them away in the hopes that theyâll just vanish
they donât vanish
instead they get bigger and bigger, until itâs all consuming and he canât think of a single thing that is not you
meanwhile, youâre trying desperately to suppress your own feeling and failing miserably
the two of dance around each other, tension so thick it radiated to everyone else on the crew
youâre interactions become shorter, both of you unable to be in the presence of the other for too long before you felt like you were going to say something stupid
eventually it all reaches a peak, and while working in his office one night he canât fight his impulses, so before he can overthink it he finally just kisses you
his kiss is heated and filled with a million emotions he doesnât know how to express with words
your relationship remains the same outside of your shared privacy, so most of the crew doesnât even know you guys are together for months
if anyone does pick up on it, itâs because both of you are in considerably better moods for weeks after your first kiss
he lets you paint his nails and do his eyeliner
gets really affectionate when heâs tired
he isnât the best communicator, but youâre patient and he tries his best
law is somewhat experienced, only having been with a few women in the past, but itâs enough for him to know what heâs doing
he has no problem taking the reigns, and easily slips any semblance of control right out of your grasp
sex is either super soft and romantic or heâs really mean, depends on his mood
loves having his hands all over you whenever he can
also gets really cocky and his smile when heâs like that is deadly
doesnât say it often, but makes sure to show you every day how much he absolutely adores you
heâs so in love with you it drives him a little crazy sometimes, but he doesnât say that
instead he saves his smiles only for you, kisses every inch of your skin, and holds you impossibly close to him while he whispers sweet praises and confessions in your ear
when law does say âi love youâ, he makes sure you know how much he means it
he cherishes your late night conversations, whispered beneath the sheets
while the crew does know of your relationship now, you still donât really act like a couple at all in front of anyone else aside from very subtle things
you always make law coffee in the morning and he thanks you for it with a kiss to the cheek before getting breakfast
and he whispers things to you all the time, just wanting to share things with you even if he may not want to share them with the rest of the crew
your relationahip changes slightly you become his wife
he never really liked the idea of marriage, but with you, heâs open to anything that would make you happy
if you want to get married, thatâs what will happen
the rings would be extremely simple, but engraved with something incredibly sweet to remind you of how much he loves you, even if he isnât able to tell you so as often as he thinks he should
there wouldnât be any ceremony, just the rings, but itâs enough for you
after that heâd be a bit more affectionate with you in front of the crew, the occasional peck, and domestic touches
itâs usually subconscious and goes unnoticed unless someone points it out
he canât help himself, youâre his wife, and heâs surprised by how much he loves the new title on you
ace:
very flirty with you from the very beginning
compliments you all the time
thinks youâre the hottest person in the world and is very vocal about it
the two of you literally just flirt with each other like 24/7 but still say âweâre just friendsâ
pisses everyone else off
you know ace has a history with women, so you figured it was safe to assume that you simply followed that pattern
so the two of you go on like that for months, so obviously crazy about each other that it quickly becomes annoying to everyone around you
the solution? set you up, obviously
some of your crew mates make it their mission to finally get you two together
setting up romantic settings where the two of you just happen to be alone
pairing you up on chores and tasks
they may or may not lock the two of you together in a closet for like an hour
it only takes a few weeks to finally get you to crack
ace is a cocky bastard about it, but also literally bouncing off the walls because heâs wanted you for forever
he fell first, you fell harder type shit
huge dork
can be pretty childish sometimes, but in an endearing way
but he does know how to read the room and take things seriously when necessary
never fails to make you feel better if youâve had a rough day
loves seeing you in his clothes !!!!
literally the biggest flirt and tease ever, no matter how long youâve been together
very touchy and just wants to be close to you
despite the fiery passion woven through his personality, he kisses you like he has all the time in the world
extremely good kisser, and enjoys pulling away to watch you chase his lips and try to catch your breath wayyyyy too much
50% slutty and 50% the most romantic man on the planet
heâll literally be making the most obscene noises in your ear and then say something so butterfly inducing and poetic that you feel like you could cry
very experienced, and it shows in everything he does
he knows exactly how to read what you need, and just what to do to have you a complete mess by the time heâs done with you
slutty waist đŁïžđŁïž
king of the knee thing
loves when you give him hickeys too so he can show off that heâs yours
also pretty open about pda
he doesnât like make out with you in the middle of a bar or anything, but he definitely does not shy away from showing you love just because there are people around either
your relationship is surprisingly mature, and you have really good communication
definitely would carry you on his back, shoulders, bridal style, or just pick you up and spin you around cause it makes you smile
if he proposes it would be planned, but not necessarily traditional or formal
heâd plan some sort of fun activity for the day, like a picnic or something, and then you turn around and heâs kneeling on the ground in front of you
would pick the PRETTIEST ring
heâd also be smiling like crazy through the entire proposal cause he wants to marry you right this second
as soon as the ring is on your finger heâs already making stupid jokes that have you rolling your eyes
would âelopeâ (unofficially) on an island and then see how long it takes for everyone to notice
possibly making a bet to see who catches on first
once the rest of the crew knows, he takes everyyyy opportunity to call you his wife or by his last name, and giggles like a kid every single time
asks are open!

Catching Smoke
A long Smoker romance fanfic where he gets to be the strong, grumpy, hot marine we know and love, falling for his capable sexy secretary(you!) that keeps him functional and saves his ass about as many times as he saves yours.
It's a secret enemies to lovers slowburn longfic that I will try to update every Sunday. Comment below to be tagged with every update!
Part 1 - where you land in the marine base g-5 and meet Smoker for the first time!
The last thing you saw was a giant paw, then you flew in this strange way for three days - and things went black.
When you woke up again, you were in some kind of hospital, but all the other beds were empty. Your head was aching and spinning, but you had to get up, get back to your friends, help them against the marines. You needed to get back to sabaody.
You limbed to the only door you could see and opened it, daylight blinded your sensitive eyes and sent a bolt of pain through your head. Blinking, you tried to get some orientation - and saw marines, lots of them. They ignored you for the most part, only a few especially ragged looking specimen wandered towards you with lopsided grins.
"Sleeping beauty woke up! Hey dove, wanna have a good time with me?" A mean looking soldier said in the grimiest voice imaginable. He had long, brown hair and wore his uniform a bit more lose than the others. He would have been handsome if not for the disgusting expression on his face.
"Fuck off!" Was your only comment as you moved, painfully slowly, in the opposite direction, down a corridor. Even you could handle a few of those conscripted losers. You were half sure. Were was your weapon?
"What was that?" the soldier grunted behind you.
"Kitten has claws" commented another one.
"We will show you what it means to-" the first one added, but was cut short by a female voice.
"Ah, there you are miss! Sorry, may I pass?" A woman with a sword approached. Her black hair was cut short. She squinted and studied your face - you didn't know her. You hoped she didn't recognize you - you may not have a wanted poster, yet, but after being involved in that kind of shit show? You couldn't be sure anymore. She was holding up a stack of papers and seemed to check your face against a picture- fuck!
Panicking, you tried to make out a way to escape before she would throw you into the hellhole named imple down. Would your friends save you? Were they even alive?
"You're an applicant for the position of secretary?" She finally asked, holding up the paper so you could see the picture. It looked nothing like you.
"Uh, sure" you answered.
"Excellent! I am captain Tashigi. Please follow me!" She turned and briskly walked away.
It looked like she was your ticket out of this situation, so you trotted off behind her - shooting the asshole soldiers a deadly glare. You hoped she would lead you around the base and that her obvious bad eyesight would give you plenty of opportunities to escape.
The base was enormous. A labyrinth of hallways, doors and stairways.
Tashigi, you knew that name from your crew mates. She was always partnered with the white hunter, Smoker. Fuck. That one was mean. A logia user that was set on capturing the strawhats. You had to get away before he saw you, he was a not called a hunter for nothing. There was no chance you could escape him.
You tried to assess your position - you were in a marine base, the blind swordswoman thought you were applying for a secretary position. Who ever you would be talking to - they would get you out somehow after the interview was over. Maybe you would have to be shipped to a civilian harbour, from where you could plot your return to sabaody. Your head was killing you, but you didn't have to give them a good performance. Surely this was just with some captain or low ranking service personnel.
Tashigi stopped at a door and knocked. A deep, growling voice answered: "come in".
Tashigi opened the door and you followed - and it took all your willpower not to curse loudly.
In a chair behind a huge wooden desk sat a man with white hair and two cigars in the corner of his mouth - Smoker. His jackett was open and he didn't wear anything underneath, his hands were in dark gloves and folded on top of the desk. He looked annoyed and angry. And, in a scary kind of way, really handsome. His broad build and white hair were unusual, but interesting. Next to him, your crewmates looked like scrawny boys.
You froze and swallowed.
"Commander Smoker, this is another applicant for the position of your secretary!" she informed him, saluting.
"Ah, I thought we saw every one of them! Of course, please, sit!" His demeanor changed somewhat, he now seemed nervous. His eyes widened and he bend a bit, like he wanted to make his enormous body a bit smaller.
You sat down on a ragged chair in front of the desk. Smoker sat down opposite you and Tashigi next to you. Trapped. Fuck.
Gathering all your strenght and acting ability, you managed to plaster a broad smile onto your face and said with the softest, most professional voice you could manage "pleased to meet you, sir!"
He nodded.
"Welcome miss...?" his voice trailed off as he was shifting through the pile of papers on his desk.
"Y/n" you answered. You were now sure that he didn't know your face. It was unlikely he knew your name. He nodded again. The angry expression returned to his face, like it was the default state his face took, whenever there was no other emotion to transport.
He continued digging around the absolute chaos covering his desk, eventually giving up with a sigh.
"I don't have time to coddle you, Miss, so I'll cut to the chase. Can you help me and captain Tashigi with this" he gestured towards the mess of paper on his desk like it was an unsolvable problem, "so that we can do our jobs?"
You were so perplexed - you nodded out of habit. And fear. All your head was filled with were the stories of your crewmates parading through your head. He beat them, all.of them. He beat Luffy. He was smoke. Couldn't be touched.
"Great. You're hired. That's all." He hit the top of the desk with his hands and almost broke it in the process, ripping you out of your panicked thoughts.
"WHAT?" you screeched, shocked.
"Miss?" he seemed confused.
You coughed and tried to calm yourself, you needed to come up with something.
"Oh I am not sure. I'll think about it and call you in a week or so. When is the next ship away from here...?"
Smoker and Tashigi looked at each other.
"Next ship off this base for civilians is in three days. Please Miss..." he seemed a bit overwhelmed, going with his fingers through his white hair "just try it out, Miss. I promise this will be a great opportunity." He seemed to try hard to sound calm and nice. Tashigi added, much to Smoker's annoyance: "all the other candidates ran off. We're really desperate!"
"Tashigi shut up!" He barked at her and she froze.
"Give us three days, Miss. You won't get back sooner anyway. Let me show you around." He stood up. You were still dizzy - and hungry. Your stomach growled. His eyes wandered towards your midsection.
"I'll show you the mess hall. Lunch is on me." Smoker said and already stomped out of the room. You and Tashigi followed, half Jogging, to keep up with his long strides. You were always a little jealous that all the others had bounties and wanted posters except for you - now it came in handy. Big time.
The mess hall was huge, filled with marine soldiers gulping down typical army rations. Not very appetizing, especially after being pampered by one of the best cooks in the world, but food was food.
Every soldier who saw the three of you saluted and greeted Smoker, he seemed well respected among marines. He nodded in response. No one dared to even look at you inappropriatly.
"If you want to, we can go to the captain's mess, food is a bit better there." Smoker said, looking a little puzzled.
"No, here's fine" you answered. Best not to overplay your hand. The food line was moving remarkably quickly and when it was your turn your realized why: there was one meal handed out. Some kind of brownish stew with potatoes. Well.
Smoker, Tashigi and you sat down on a bench at the long tables, right in the middle of the soldiers, it felt quite odd not to be shot at and attacked by those uniform wearing bastards.
Smoker and Tashigi started planning the rest of their day: training, stretegic meetings. Or rather, Smoker was barking at her while she nodded and made the occasional comment.
You tried the food - fortunately, it was quite tasteless. This was no fun, but it filled your stomach. The portion was so huge, you couldn't finish it. Looking around, you started to realise what being a marine really meant - and how massive the organisation really was. All those people, supply chains, organisation. All that material.
"If you don't like the food, we can find a solution!" Smoker said as he saw you laying down your cutlery. Both Smoker and Tashigi seemed concerned.
"No, it's fine" you answered, hearing a sigh of relief from both of them. They were desperate.
"So tell me commander" you tried to sound as business as you possibly could, "you seem to have run out of options for the position, why is that?" You asked, getting interested in the inner workings of the marine.
"Well uhm...we need someone for the paperwork, but this particular base is not so popular." Smoker poked at his food with the fork. "They're good men, but they lack manners. All the office personnel capable of doing administrative jobs has quit." He scowled. "But I assure you that you are under my personal protection, and the rules for soldiers of course don't apply to you. Headquarters is willing to pay a good salary and you will not have to participate in drills or such things." He explained.
You felt a little sorry for those two, they seemed like okay people at least. And you had to get along with them for three days.
"I'll have a look" you said, earning a smile from both.
"And I won't wear a uniform!" you told them, getting a little bold.
"Of course not!" Smoker reinforced his promise not to treat you like a soldier.
The three of you returned to what was clearly Smoker's office again. There was no one to explain the system to you, not even Smoker or Tashigi. They pretty much left you to get an overview by yourself while they trained and drilled their soldiers.
You started to look through the mess of papers, forms and memos. It was quite informative. Since he was commander of the base, the paperwork on his desk included lots of classified information and an excellent insight into the organisation of the marine as a whole. There were memos about the whereabouts of high ranking officers, troop movements, supply shipments, secret news - a whol cornucopia of secrets you could use against them.
This was a gold mine of information. Information that could be useful in the future for a pirate. You sorted and stacked the papers by type and date and just a few hours later, the office looked a lot tidier. You were putting away some uninteresting files in what seemed the proper place when Smoker returned, his jacket flung over his shoulder. He was glistening with sweat and showing off his muscular chest without seeming to notice how appealing he looked. For a short moment, your face must have been a grimace of shock mixed with a sleazy smile. You jumped up, trying not to look at the hot marine soldier in front of you and pushed around some more papers while greeting him nervously "wel-welcome back commander!"
He nodded absent-mindedly and threw himself in a big comfortable leather chair in the corner of his office. He let his arms hang down the sides, sighind deeply. Like he was posing for you, presenting his broad chest with deeps breaths.
He looked around, one of his cigars almost fell out of his mouth as he probably saw the surfaces of the tables for the first time ever.
"I see you already got to work!" He nodded in admiration. "I didn't expect to see order so soon!" Relieved, he leaned back with his arms behind his head, showcasing his chest even more.
"If you continue like this, we will get along excellently. And I will finally be able to do my real job." he leaned back, relaxed and self-content.
Even though he provoked lewd thoughts about licking his torso from the gutter of your mind, it bugged you that he treated you like this thing was already settled.
"You will have to keep order as well, commander. It is your office." you sternly stated, immediately causing his brows to crease again.
"That is not how you talk to me Lad-" he berated you - or tried.
"You have responsibilities here. Act like it." you shut him up, crossing your arms in front of your chest. You knew that you had to win a few powerplays with him to get his respect - and not get trampled under his demands.
He ground his teeth, almost biting one of his cigars in half.
"I am going to let that slide - for now." he begrudgingly said.
"I have put all the communication marked with "urgent" on your desk. That is, all that are still relevant. Some are months old" you pointed to his desk.
He got up and moved to inspect your work, visibly reigning his anger in.
He sat down and started to look at the papers, angrily puffing out clouds of smoke.
"I don't need to know all that crap" he said- and froze. There was a memo about Luffy's involvement at Sabaody - it surely interested him.
It sure as hell was interesting to you. He, and the rest of the crew, were missing. You prayed that they landed on friendly islands and not marine bases. The more meat-headed of your comrades would be in real trouble, otherwise.
You watched as his face derailed into an expression of utter shock.
"STRAW HATS! DEFEATED???" he barked at the paper in his hands.
"FIREFIST ACE - CAPTURED???" He grunted as he got to the Next page.
"AND THE EXECUTION IS IN 2 DAYS?" He sunk back into his chair, exhausted by the news.
"And your attendance is required" you informed him, smugly.
He answered with a puff of smoke and a defeated grunt.
"Well, we still have enough time to get there. I'll leave tomorrow morning"
"If you don't keep order and read the news from headquarters, you'll miss such things" you rubbed his shortcoming into his face. Powerplay - won!
"Dismissed." Smokers brown eyes glared at you as he barked the order.
He knew he had lost, you were sure of it.
You trotted out with a spring in your step, getting greeted by Tashigi, that proceeded to show you to your room.
Smoker
Smoker slumped into his chair after he ordered his new secretary out. Compared to him, she was small. No doubt she had never been in a real fight. But she stood before him and didn't flinch. She had spunk. It was hard to admit it, but as he excelled as a soldier and a hunter for pirate bounties, he was lost amidst all this bureaucracy, rules and politics.
And it was time to admit that if he wanted to stay on top of things, he needed help.
He needed her, and she had shown that to him today. His hand glided nervously through his hair. For some reason, he felt giddy, nervous. Excited. Their little exchange had been something new. Tashigi rarely stood up to him, and never like that. He looked forward to what she would present him with in the future.
He needed to think about how to make her stay. It was not his forté.

2:53 am
"kei." no response. you know tsukishima has to get up early for work, but the window across from your bed is open, allowing the night breeze to creep in and sting your face. you could get up yourself, but that's what husbands are for, right?
you twist around, trying to wiggle out of your husband's grasp so you can take a better look at his sleeping face. he has an arm wrapped firmly around your waist, the other supporting your neck to, in his words, 'protect his ears from your constant complaints about your sore neck in the morning'.
"honey?" you poke his cheek, smiling to yourself when he grunts in response. tsukishima has always been a light sleeper. you lay in silence for a few seconds before he finally lets out a sigh, opening his eyes to look at you.
"what do you want?"
you muster up your biggest doe eyes, knowing that he hates getting out of bed just as much as you do. "close the window for me?"
"no. you do it."
you sigh dramatically, gesturing at his arms wrapped firmly around you. "i would love to, but someone is holding me hostage, so i think you're going to have to do it."
tsukishima rolls his eyes, untangling his arms from your body. "problem solved." he holds back a smile when you frown and pull the blankets away from him, turning your back towards him. you're so cute. tsukishima would do anything you ask of him without hesitation, but he can't help but tease you a bit first. he'll never get tired of your reactions, and he loves that he can be a little snarky with you.
you sigh again, this time louder and more pointed, pretending to shiver just to show your husband how cold you really are, and how cruel he is for not helping. "if only someone could hold me right now...", you trailed off.
"ok, do you want me to help you or not?" he finally gives in, getting up to reach for his glasses. you win, as usual. you turn back to face him again with a smile as bright as sunshine, and despite all of the years you've been together, his heart still stops for a second. wow. okay, maybe he is obsessed with you, but he can't help it. you've clearly worked your magic on him, considering the fact that he's getting out of the bed for you when he has to be awake in a few hours. he goes to close the windows with a firm click, walking back to his side of bed.
"kei...since you're already up...", he looks back to see your guilty smile, an empty mug in your hands. "please? last thing, i swear." he give you a look that reads, "you're lucky i love you." (you know you're the luckiest person in the world.)
he takes your mug and you hear his quiet footsteps making their way to the kitchen. he comes back, handing you a mug full of warm water. once you take a sip, he takes the mug from you again, placing it on your nightstand.
"i poisoned that," he quips, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead before finally lying down and snaking his arms around your waist, pulling you in closer to him. the only reason he hates getting out of bed is that he has to let go of you, but he doesn't need to say that. he's sure you already know.

Unintentional couple behaviour

you two acts like a loving couple all the time, so what happens when someone points it out?
characters: luffy, kidd, katakuri, shanks and mihawk
(zoro, sanji, law, ace and sabo)
a/n: since a loooot asked for more, here I am eheh
words count: around 0.4k - 1.1k each
masterlist || ao3 || ko-fi
ââ .⊠Monkey D. Luffy:
You donât know when it started.
Maybe it was the way Luffy always stole food from your plate, but make sure to never let anyone else touch it.
Maybe it was how he always grabbed your hand first whenever the crew split up.
Maybe it was how he insisted on napping with you, his head always finding your lap, his arms always looping around you like a makeshift pillow.
Whatever it was, it had been going on for way too long. And the worst part is that you never questioned it.
Until now.
It starts with Sanji.
Youâre sitting at the dinner table, picking at your food, when Sanji suddenly snorts âYou two should just date already.â
You blink ââŠWhat?â
Sanji gestures between you and Luffy âYouâre basically a couple anyway.â
You choke on your drink.
Luffy just tilts his head, mid-bite âHuh?â
Sanji raises an eyebrow âSeriously? You guys act like a couple all the time.â
You open your mouth to argue, to deny everything, but then Nami nods âHeâs right, you know.â
Usopp grins âYeah, I mean, have you even seen yourselves?â
Franky chuckles âSuper obvious, bro.â
You stare. And then Zoro, of all people, grunts âTheyâre not wrong.â
Your brain short-circuits. Luffy just blinks at all of them, then turns to you âWait⊠are we a couple?â
Your face burns âNo!â
The crew groans.
âOh, come on.â
âYouâre in denial.â
âThis is painful to watch.â
You glare âWeâre just friends!â
Luffy nods âYeah! Just friends!â
The crew stares. Then Brook smiles âOh? Then you wouldnât mind if I asked y/n out on a date?â
Silence.
Then Luffyâs fork snaps in half and the table goes dead quiet.
Luffy grins at Brook, but itâs not his usual happy-go-lucky grin. Itâs the grin he wears before picking a fight.
âYohoho,â Brook laughs nervously âJust kidding.â
Luffy hums, still smiling âGood.â
Your stomach flips because holy shit. That was jealousy. Luffy was jealous... Over you.
The realization haunts you for the rest of the night. Because if Luffy was jealous then what did that mean?
Did he actuallyâ?
No.
No, this is Luffy. Heâs just protective. Thatâs just who he is.
âŠRight?
You barely sleep, and the next morning you wake up to Luffy in your bed.
Sprawled across your mattress. Arms locked around your waist. Face buried in your shoulder.
Like itâs completely normal.
Like he always does this.
Your heart pounds.
Becauseâwait!
He does always do this. Every night. Every time youâre on the Sunny, he sneaks into your bed without even asking. And you never questioned it.
Because it was just Luffy.
But now everything feels different.
You slowly try to move, but his grip tightens.
âMm⊠donât goâ he mumbles sleepily, lips brushing against your skin.
And thatâs it. You lose it.
âLUFFY, WHAT ARE WE?!â
Luffy jerks awake âHuhâ?â
âWhat are we?!â you repeat, flustered as hell.
Luffy rubs his eyes, confused âWeâre us.â
You groan âThatâs not an answer!â
He tilts his head âWhat do you mean?â
You gesture wildly âThis! Us! The sleeping together! The hand-holding! The food-sharing!â
Luffy suddenly grins âOh.â
Your heart stops âWhat do you mean, oh?â
Luffy laughs. And then, without hesitation, he leans in and kisses you.
Soft. Certain.
Like heâs been waiting to do it forever.
You freeze. Your brain short-circuits.
He pulls back, grinning âSo? Are we a couple now?â
You gape ââŠWHAT?!â
Luffy just laughs âWell, weâve basically been dating this whole time, right?â
Your eye twitches âAND YOU KNEW?!â
Luffy shrugs âI just thought you knew too.â
You sputter, because what the hell. What the actual hell. Luffy just decided you were dating. And you never even noticed.
You flop back onto the bed.
Luffy just grins, tugging you closer âYouâre thinking too muchâ he mumbles, nuzzling against you.
Your heart races.
Your face is burning.
But⊠maybe the crew was right. Maybe you and Luffy were always meant to be.
Even if you were the last person to realize it.
ââ .⊠Eustass Kidd:
Youâve always known Kid was the stubborn type. He was gruff, intense, and always had that tough guy act. But lately, youâve noticed something strange. The more you were around him, the more he didnât seem to mind you being there. In fact, he almost seemed to expect it.
It starts with those small things, things he doesnât think twice about. Like when youâre both sitting on the deck, and a gust of wind hits just as youâre about to stand. Before you can catch your balance, Kidâs hand shoots out, steadying you. He doesnât say anything, but his grip lingers just long enough for you to notice.
âWatch itâ he mutters, his usual gruff tone, but thereâs something softer behind his eyes. You smile but say nothing. Killer, standing nearby, simply raises an eyebrow before looking away, smirking under his mask.
A few days later, when the crew is at port, you notice Kid keeping an eye on you more than usual. Every time someone gets too close or even bumps into you, his sharp gaze zeroes in, and he doesnât hesitate to step in between you and whoeverâs too close. At one point, a shady pirate from a different crew tries to flirt with you. Before you can even respond, Kid steps forward, pushing the pirate away with a low growl.
âGet lost.â
You blink, surprised at his intensity, but he doesnât look at you, just at the pirate whoâs now backing off.
âKid, I can handle myselfâ you say, rolling your eyes.
âDoesnât mean you should have toâ he grumbles under his breath, clearly annoyed by something. He turns away before you can say anything else, muttering about how annoying it is to babysit you. But you know itâs not just that.
The crew knows it too.
Heat lets out a low whistle as he passes by âDamn, Captain, didnât know you were the protective boyfriend type.â
Kid turns on him with a glare âShut the hell up.â
Heat just laughs, walking away. You shake your head, but the warmth in your chest lingers.
Then, it all comes to a head one evening. The crewâs just finished a round of celebrations, the ship rocking gently in the quiet of the night. Youâre leaning against the rail, enjoying the peace when you feel him behind you.
âCanât sleep?â Kid asks, his voice low as usual.
You turn around, finding him standing there, arms crossed, the moonlight casting a soft glow over his scowling face.
âI could ask you the same thingâ you reply.
Thereâs a quiet moment as you both stand there, not speaking. His eyes never leave yours, and the tension between you both seems to grow with every passing second.
Suddenly, you hear footsteps approaching. Instinctively, you move closer to Kid. You donât even think about it, but he doesnât pull away. Instead, his hand shifts from where it was casually resting at his side to just hovering near your waist.
The ship creaks, the quiet atmosphere making you both more aware of each otherâs presence. He doesnât speak. Neither do you. His fingers are so close, just barely grazing your side as if to assure himself youâre right there.
The closeness feels⊠different. Intimate.
You glance up at him âKid?â you ask softly, your heart beating a little faster.
He doesnât answer immediately, instead, his eyes flicker over your face, and you can see the internal struggle within him. Itâs a battle, and for a second, you think he might just ignore it, keep up the stubborn front.
But then, his hand finally rests against your side. His touch isnât harsh, but gentle. You donât pull away.
âI donât know why I keep doing this shitâ he admits, his voice low but clear âBut when it comes to you⊠I donât want to risk something happening.â
You blink, surprised âRisk what?â
His gaze softens, and the gruffness in his tone fades away. He looks straight at you, the usual deflective annoyance replaced with something more vulnerable.
âI donât want anyone else near you. Not after I saw that idiot trying to hit on you.â
You smile, your heart fluttering in your chest âKid, Iâm not a damsel in distress.â
âI know,â he replies quickly, but thereâs no hiding the quiet affection in his voice now âI just⊠I donât want to lose you.â
His words hit you harder than you expected, and before you can even respond, something unspoken passes between you both. In a split second, his lips are near yours, and the kiss is soft, almost hesitant, like heâs still not sure if heâs allowed to show this side of himself.
But you kiss him back, your hand gently resting against his chest. The kiss lingers for a moment longer than either of you anticipated, but it feels like the world has paused, like this is the only thing that matters in that moment.
When you pull away, you both stand there in silence, but this time, itâs not awkward. Itâs comfortable.
And then the moment is completely shattered by the sound of someone clearing their throat. You both snap your heads toward the entrance to the deck, where Killer and Wire are standing, watching with amused expressions.
âSo,â Wire says, smirking, âyou two finally gonna admit youâre basically married, or should we keep pretending this isnât happening?â
Your face heats up immediately, but Kid just groans, rubbing a hand down his face.
âGo to hellâ he grumbles.
Killer just shakes his head âToo late, Captain. Everyoneâs been taking bets on when youâd figure it out.â
You gape âWhat?â
Wire grins âYeah. Heat won. He said youâd kiss before the next port. Guess we owe him a round of drinks.â
Kid looks absolutely done. You, on the other hand, canât help but laugh. Because honestly? Itâs not surprising.
You look back up at Kid, whoâs still scowling but isnât pulling away from you. You squeeze his hand briefly before grinning.
âGuess we were the last ones to know, huh?â
He exhales sharply, shaking his head, but thereâs no real annoyance in his expression anymore. Just acceptance. And maybe, just maybe, the start of something real.
ââ .⊠Red-Haired Shanks:
Being part of the Red Hair Pirates meant living in a constant mess of drinking, laughing, and reckless adventures.
And somehow you ended up being the most responsible one. Which was probably why everyone assumed you and Shanks were together.
The problem?
You werenât.
But apparently, no one got the memo.
It starts with Yasopp.
Youâre in the middle of patching up Shanksâ arm because, once again, he got into a bar fight for fun, when Yasopp smirks at you from across the deck.
âYou know,â he says casually, âyouâre basically married to him at this point.â
You nearly stab Shanks with the needle.
âWhat?!â
Shanks, meanwhile, just laughs.
And the worst part? He doesnât even deny it.
âCâmon,â Yasopp continues, âyou take care of him, clean up after him, yell at him when heâs reckless...â
âI yell at all of you.â
âYeah, but you baby him.â
Shanks grins âItâs true. You do.â
You glare âI do not.â
Shanks just shrugs âIf you say so.â
And that should be the end of it. But itâs not.
Because after that the whole crew starts treating you like... ugh.
âOi, Y/N! Can you grab Shanks another drink?â
âY/N, tell the captain to stop picking fights with Marines again.â
âHey, Y/N, Shanks says he wants something spicy, maybe you could help... and it's not about foodâ
You want to scream.
But Shanks?
Shanks just goes along with it. Smiling. Laughing. Letting everyone assume youâre his.
And the worst part is that you let them, because deep down you donât hate the idea.
And thatâs dangerous.
Then one night, it all clicks.
Youâre sitting at a bonfire, surrounded by the crew, listening to them sing and drink and bicker over who can hold their liquor best.
Youâre not paying attention until you hear your name.
âSo, Captain,â Lucky Roux says, âwhenâs the wedding?â
You choke on your drink. But before you can argue, Shanks just grins.
âOh, give it time.â
The crew erupts into laughter.
You just stare at him.
Because... what????
Shanks turns to you, smiling like he didnât just casually imply he plans on marrying you.
And something in his expressionâ
Something warm. Something knowing.
It hits you all at once.
The hand-holding. The lingering touches. The way he always pulls you onto his lap when thereâs no room to sit.
The way he lets you fuss over him when he gets hurt, the way he only ever listens to you.
The way he looks at you like youâre something precious.
Your heart pounds.
And Shanks just grins against your lips.
âTook you long enoughâ he murmurs.
And when you pull back, breathless, flustered, you realize that maybe youâve been his this whole time.
You blink, heart still racing as the weight of his words settles in. The laughter of the crew fades into background noise, the warmth of the bonfire casting flickering shadows over Shanksâ face. Heâs watching you, waiting, like he already knows the answer, like heâs known it for years.
And maybe he has.
Maybe heâs been waiting for you to catch up.
Your throat is dry. You open your mouth, but no words come out, just a strangled sound of disbelief.
Shanks chuckles, eyes crinkling at the corners âYou alright there, sweetheart?â
Sweetheart. Like itâs the most natural thing in the world. Like he hasnât just upended everything you thought you knew.
Your hands tighten in his shirt, and you canât tell if itâs to ground yourself or to pull him closer âYou...â you swallow, voice quieter now, meant just for him âYou shouldâve said something...â
He tilts his head, considering âI thought I did. Plenty of times.â
You scowl, smacking his chest lightly, which only makes him laugh âThatâs not what I meant, and you know it.â
âOh, I know.â His fingers brush your jaw, featherlight, reverent âI just like seeing you all flustered.â
You groan, but you donât pull away. And well, that says everything, doesnât it?
And Shanks knows it too, because his grin softens, something unreadable flickering in his gaze âSo,â he murmurs, close enough that his breath tickles your lips, ânow that youâve finally figured it out, what do you plan to do about it?â
The challenge is there, teasing, but thereâs something raw beneath it, something real.
You take a breath. Then, before you can overthink it, you grab the front of his coat and pull him in, kissing him again, firmer this time.
The crew erupts in cheers. Someone whistles. Someone else yells about winning a bet.
But all you can focus on is the way Shanks smiles against your lips, like heâs just won something far more important.
And maybe you have too.
ââ .⊠Charlotte Katakuri:
The first time someone calls you Katakuriâs spouse, you nearly drop your mochi donut.
âExcuse me, what?â
The Big Mom Pirates stare at you like youâre stupid.
âWell, yeah,â Oven says, like itâs the most obvious thing in the world âYou take care of him, he lets you into his tea time, youâre the only one who sees his faceââ
BrĂ»lĂ©e smirks âAnd you always defend him when people talk behind his back.â
Daifuku nods âMight as well be married already.ïżœïżœ
You sputter âThat doesnât meanâ! Weâre notâ! Heâs just my commander!â
Oven raises an eyebrow âYou ever see Katakuri treat anyone else the way he treats you?â
You freeze.
Because... okay.
Thatâs a good point.
Katakuri isnât exactly warm with people. Heâs respected, feared, distant. A perfectionist. The strongest Sweet Commander.
And yet, with you?
He lets you tease him. Lets you see him.
Lets you in.
Your stomach flips.
And you donât know what to do with that.
You try to forget about it.
But after that you start noticing things.
The way Katakuri always saves you the best snacks at tea time.
The way he steps in front of you during battles without thinking.
The way he lets you touch him, his arm, his back, his face.
His unguarded moments are always with you.
And suddenly you canât ignore it.
Neither can the crew.
It all comes to a head one evening.
Youâre sitting with Katakuri in his usual spot, tea cooling beside him, the setting sun casting a warm glow over his sharp features. Heâs eating, as usual, but his guard is down because youâre here.
And then the words slip out.
ââŠKatakuri.â
He glances at you, chewing âHm?â
You hesitate. Then screw it.
âAre we⊠something?â
Katakuri pauses.
Slowly, he sets his cup down. Then he exhales, like heâs been waiting for this.
âYou tell me,â he says, voice steady âWould it bother you if we were?â
Your heart pounds. Because no, it wouldnât.
You swallow âNo.â
Katakuri watches you for a long moment. Then, he smirks.
âThen I suppose we are.â
Your brain short-circuits.
âWaitâWHAT?!â
Katakuri chuckles, low and deep âDid you really think Iâd let just anyone this close to me?â
You gasp, because hold on. Has he known this whole time?!
Your face burns âYou couldâve said something sooner, you jerk!â
Katakuri just leans closer, his presence overwhelming.
ââŠWould you have been ready to hear it?â
You freeze, because damn it.
Heâs right.
ââ .⊠Dracule Mihawk:
Living on Kuraigana Island with Mihawk isnât easy, but somehow, you get used to it.
You get used to the silence. The way he watches you over the rim of his wine glass. The way he corrects your sword stance with the barest touch of his fingers.
You get used to the way he does things for you without asking, bringing you an extra plate at meals, fixing your sword when itâs damaged, moving his coat so you donât sit on the cold stone steps.
Itâs just how he is... Or so you think.
Until one day Perona stares at the two of you across the dining table and snorts.
âYou guys act like a married couple.â
You choke on your drink. Mihawk just raises an eyebrow.
Perona grins âOh, come on! You live together, train together, eat togetherâhell, you even drink out of each otherâs cups sometimes!â
You freeze.
Becauseâwait. When did that start happening?!
You sneak a glance at Mihawk, expecting him to argue.
But instead, he just takes a sip of wine and says, âAnd?â
Your brain short-circuits.
Because what does he mean, âandâ?!
Perona cackles âOh, this is gold.â
Meanwhile, youâre too busy spiraling to notice the small, knowing smirk on Mihawkâs lips.
Because the truth is, he knew all along.
The next few days pass in a strange haze. Every time youâre near Mihawk, youâre hyper-aware of his actions. The way he hands you your sword when itâs too heavy for you to lift properly, the way he adjusts your stance when youâre practicing, even the way he leaves his wine glass half-filled so you can sip it without asking.
You canât help but start noticing the little things. And it makes your stomach do these strange little flips you canât quite explain.
You try to convince yourself that youâre just overthinking it. After all, youâve spent so much time together, working side-by-side, that itâs only natural for him to be a bit⊠attentive. But you canât help but feel that thereâs more to it than that.
One evening, youâre training in the yard. Mihawk is watching from the porch, as usual, but today thereâs something different in the air. Maybe itâs the cool breeze, or the strange feeling of him staring at you.
âFocusâ he calls out when you fumble with your sword.
You grit your teeth and refocus, sweat already beading on your forehead. Your movements become sharper, more determined, but you canât quite shake the feeling that something is⊠off.
When you finish the routine, Mihawkâs still leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed. He doesnât say anything at first, but you can feel his gaze. You give him a quick, sideways glance, noticing the faint hint of a smile tugging at his lips.
âSomething wrong?â you ask, trying to sound casual.
His response comes as a slow, deliberate drawl âYou still arenât quite in sync with your sword. Iâve been waiting for you to catch up.â
You feel your face flush, but you push through it âYeah? Well, Iâm not some grandmaster swordsman like you, Mihawk.â
He steps closer, his presence almost overwhelming, but his gaze softens for a moment âYouâre getting better. Iâm simply making sure you donât lose track of your progress.â
The softness in his voice catches you off-guard, and for a split second, you feel as if youâre standing on the edge of something, something new.
But you quickly push it aside, shaking it off as just another passing thought. You turn to grab your sword again, determined to change the subject.
âThanks for the help,â you mutter, trying to keep your voice steady âBut I think I need a break. My arms are sore.â
Mihawk doesnât respond at first. Instead, he merely watches you for a moment before he speaks again, his tone unusually gentle.
âAre you sure youâre fine? Youâve been training for hours without rest.â
You give him a small, appreciative nod âIâll be fine. Youâre too used to looking out for me, Mihawk.â
He lets out a faint chuckle, but you notice that thereâs a strange intensity in his gaze now âI suppose I am.â
Before you can react, you feel something slightly off, a flicker of tension between you two.
Itâs subtle, but itâs there. And you feel it in the way he looks at you, the way he almost seems to be waiting for you to say something.
But, just like that, the moment passes. He steps back, motioning for you to take a rest.
âIâll prepare dinner,â he says quietly, as if nothing had happened âIâm sure youâre hungry.â
You blink âYou cook?â
âOf course,â he says with a slight, almost invisible smirk âItâs not difficult, and youâve been working hard all day. You deserve a proper meal.â
You feel your heart race at his words, but you manage to keep it together âAlright, Iâll take you up on that.â
But as Mihawk turns to walk away, you pause.
For just a second, you wonder... has this always been a normal interaction between you two? Or has it grown into something more without you even realizing it?
The unease gnaws at you as you sit down on the steps, watching him disappear into the house.
Youâre overthinking it. Youâre just friends.
...Right?
Later that evening, youâre sitting across from Mihawk, your meal already finished. The conversation is easy, but thereâs still that lingering, unspoken tension hanging in the air.
Finally, Mihawk breaks the silence, his voice low and casual âYouâve been avoiding the subject.â
Your brow furrows in confusion âWhat subject?â
âThe subject of us.â
You choke on your drink, sputtering âWhatâus?!â
His expression remains unreadable, but thereâs a faint glimmer in his eyes âYou think I havenât noticed? Youâve been acting strange around me lately. Ever since Perona made her comment.â
You freeze âIâuhââ
âLetâs stop pretending,â he continues âWeâve been behaving like a couple, whether we admit it or not.â
Your heart starts to race. You open your mouth to deny it, but the words get stuck. Instead, you just stare at him, trying to make sense of what heâs saying.
And thatâs when Mihawk leans forward just slightly, his voice dropping lower âI donât know what youâre feeling, but I do know that I donât want you to leave.â
The bluntness of his words takes your breath away.
âI never planned to leaveâ you manage to say, the words barely leaving your lips.
Mihawk gives you a rare, genuine smile, one thatâs so small and almost imperceptible that youâre not sure you saw it at all. But something in his eyes shifts.
âGood.â
And just like that, the tension finally breaks.
Youâre not sure where this will go. But for now, youâre content to just be here with him, uncertain, but sure of one thing: neither of you are going anywhere.

âđ°đđ€đ đĄđąđŠ đźđ©!â
synopsis: you're tasked with waking up zoro for dinner, but it's hard to make him budge.

pairing: zoro x gn!reader cw: more tooth rotting fluff for my favorite swordsman :) wc: ~1.6k an: i had a dream about this and added some even more fluff because why not. ty all i hope you enjoy <3 also i realized i have a decent chunk of zoro fics about napping lol maybe this is why im sleepymarimo i just love that sleepy lil guy

"Where the hell is that shitty swordsman?" Sanji grumbles, cigarette hanging from his lips as he sets a hefty plate of rice on the dining table.
Even though you're acutely aware that the marimo is missing, you pretend to peer over shoulders and swivel your head to give the impression that you're just as clueless as everyone else. You're already sat at the table, utensils neatly resting beside your plate.
Everyone else is already in the dining room, Luffy practically on the brink of perishing as the food is placed before him. Chopper and Usopp are close behind, their forks glinting in the light.
Robin is patient, smiling at the sight before her, the one she's grown to love. "I believe he said something about taking a nap," she reveals, her fingers wrapping around the stem of a wine glass. "He might be holed up in the boy's room."
"You mean the men's room?" Franky speaks up in an attempt to lighten the mood, the cola bottle in his hand hissing as he pops the cap.
Nami shakes her head, not in the mood to entertain the hooligans she calls her crewmates- her family. When Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper start to chant for their food, the navigator's last straw cracks into a million pieces.
Her chair slides back with a screech as she stands, planting her hands on the table. "Ugh, I can't believe that guy, sleeping through dinner!" The sigh she gives is intentionally dramatic, her charm working its magic as Sanji quickly offers to knock some sense into the green-haired swordsman.
It all comes to a halt when a pair of hands sprout from the table, tugging at the cook's shirt in a silent command to stay put. All eyes go to Robin, her knowing gaze easily hiding whatever ploy is running through her mind.
She calls your name and you immediately feel your cheeks warm, though you still feign obliviousness even if it seems like she's peeking right into your brain.
"Why don't you get Zoro?" she suggests, yet deep down you know you don't have an option.
Even if the thought of protesting crosses your mind, the chorus of growling stomachs and pleas for you to hurry have you standing and scampering up the stairs and to the deck.
Standing in front of the door to the boy's cabin, you feel your stomach drop a bit. You're quite literally entering a tiger's den, into the willing jaws of a beast who has been known to treasure booze, swords, and naps above all else.
The air inside the room is significantly more warm, heavy, compared to the cool breeze blowing outside. It's dark, your eyes adjusting to the lack of lighting as you carefully step over shoes and dirty clothes.
For a moment the beds seem empty and you wonder if he's even inside, yet the massive figure atop one of the bunks makes you quickly reconsider that thought.
His bare back rises and falls at a leisurely pace, his arms sprawled over the sides of the bed while he lays on his front. Cheek pressed comfortably into his pillow, Zoro naps away without much care for anything else.
After gawking for a second or two, you step toward the bunk, mentally cursing, and steel yourself for what feels like the millionth time. The wooden structure is a bit too tall for you to get a look at him, so with a small grunt you step onto the bottom bunk and grip onto the rails to hoist yourself up.
As soon as you take a glimpse over the top bunk's railing, you feel the warmth of his exhales across your nose and cheeks. It makes your face warm, your own breaths stalling as you take in the sight of him looking so⊠serene.
His face is softened, relaxed, a stark contrast to the pinched brows and scowls he usually wears.
Imagining the exasperated faces of your hungry crewmates, you get on with your small mission. Even though you're there to wake him, you're considerate enough to keep mindful of your tone. "Zoro?" comes his name from your lips, a murmur not quite suited for waking a beast.
The most you get out of him is the slight wrinkling of his nose, like a fly had perched there for a second before buzzing off. In a way it's expected given that he's slept through storms and whole marine attacks.
Your tone is louder the next time you call his name, more firm, his silhouette becoming pronounced as your eyes adjust to the dark room. "Zoro," you call again, arms starting to ache from how you're pulling yourself up to the top bunk.
Again, nothing. It's almost comical at this point, really.
You resist the urge to groan in frustration, your options becoming more limited. Time really isn't on your side here, not when the odds of a hungry pirate barging into the room increases by the second.
Taking a big breath, you decide that this is going to be the last try. This is going to be the one to wake the marimo, whether he likes it or not.
Unfortunately, the sea has other plans for you.
The ship hits a patch of rough water, the violent movement causing you to lose your grip on the railing tethering you to the top bunk. Your breath also catches when the sudden jolt makes your feet slip off the mattress belonging to the bottom bed, your heart skipping a beat when you feel yourself starting to fall back.
You're fully prepared to brace yourself against the harsh floor, your muscles tensing and jaw tightening, but you don't even have the chance to fall back a single inch.
A strong arm, previously hanging limp over the bed, curls around your waist and holds you steady. It supports all your weight, even as your legs kick out in an attempt to find solid ground. With your face suddenly squished into the junction of his neck, your own arms act on instinct and wrap around his shoulders.
Zoro's awake now, steel-grey eye open and aware as if he hadn't been knocked out cold just seconds ago. His senses have a unique threshold, not bothering to pick up on the calls of his name but always managing to be ready when his crewmates need him most- especially you.
His skin is warm, a tell tale sign that he'd probably been napping for hours. Tightening his grip on you, he sits up, pulling you with him. You're still disoriented, wondering why you haven't hit the floor, but he's as sharp as ever.
"The hell are you doin'?" he grumbles, voice still heavy from his rest, carrying that delightful rasp. His irritated tone is a facade, more of a light chide than anything. "You tryin' t'break your neck or something?"
You feel like a fish out of water, mouth opening and closing a couple times while you're still dangling from the top bunk. It's hard to not get in a few mumbled apologies, not knowing if he's ticked from being stirred from his sleep.
"Dinner is ready," you reply, managing to find your words, your hold on him not letting up due to fear of falling once more. He feels so warm, the definition of a guilty pleasure, and you're left to exert as much self-control as possible.
He lets out a scoff, amused, then grunts as he finally realizes you're still hanging over the bed. His hand moves, sliding across your waist to grab at the back of your shirt. While Zoro's strength is known throughout all the seas, it always leaves you in awe. With nothing more than a bicep curl, he hoists you up and onto the top bunk with him.
A sigh of relief leaves your lips as you sink into the soft mattress, the bunk creaking with the added weight and how Zoro shifts into a seated position. Legs crossed over one another, he stretches his arms over head, unintentionally showing off his physical prowess.
Your eyes find the ceiling out of respect, but mostly because you're another second away from bursting into flames.
He yawns, then rubs at the back of his neck. "Dinner, huh?" he repeats, finding the answer satisfactory enough and shrugging his shoulders. "They sent the right person. I don't need that shitty cook hurling a kick my way."
You nod and even get out a laugh. "Yeah, I'm sure waking up to me almost falling is a lot better," you joke, looking over the bunk to see the drop to the floor.
"It's no problem," he assures, his gold earrings catching in the slivers of moonlight entering through the window as a lazy smirk grows on his face. "I got ya."
While you'd be willing to skip dinner to stay with the swordsman, your stomach protests with a hefty grumble. Zoro's stomach follows suit, making it's need for food known. The timing of it makes another laugh slide past your lips, a sound that makes his smirk soften into something more genuine.
With a small grunt, he hops off of the top bunk and lands on the floor with a solid thud. "Alright," he starts, stretching his back out a bit more before lifting his head to meet your gaze. "Let's go eat." His arms raise, ready to help you down from the bed. Whether you want to take the ladder or propel yourself into his embrace, he silently vows to be there to offer support. Although Zoro could be stubborn, gruff, and brash, he'd never let you fall, not ever.

skin to skin
they almost lost you in a fight against a powerful enemy. they just need to feel your touch to know that youâre really here, safe and with them.
includes: Law, Zoro
tags: hurt/comfort, mentions of blood and injuries.
law, zoro | luffy, sanji
law
Law had forgotten what fear, true fear, felt like. Until he watched you receive a strike that had you crashing against a wall and collapsing to the floor. The fight that ensued was brutal, him doing all he could to put an end to it and go to your aid. When he finally kneeled next to you, he froze for a second.Â
No physical pain could compare to the anguish of seeing the state you were in, of having failed to protect you. A voice in his head told him he had lost you, and Law was inclined to believe it. But then you opened your eyes. You called his name, and although your voice was weak and strained, relief washed over him.Â
His hands trembled as they approached your body. His eyes shifted, uncertain and frightened, over the wounds and bruises littering your skin. Law bent over your body, resting his forehead against yours with more force than he meant to. He inhaled deeply, the smell of blood and you filling his lungs. His hands gripped your shoulders, his nose pressed lightly against yours.Â
âYouâre alive,â he whispered, though you werenât sure if he was simply stating it, or trying to convince himself that it was true.
zoro
The fight was over, the villain defeated. Another helpless village saved from the claws of its oppressive ruler. As the dust from the battle settled, Zoro turned to look at you. Covered in blood and cuts, you smiled up at him. It was weak, nothing like the bright smiles youâd greet him with every morning. Faltering, even, like keeping it up was taking up all your remaining strength.
Zoro took a step closer, his question turning into a cry of your name the second you collapsed to your knees. He hurried to your side, wasting no time to tear pieces of his clothes and bandage your wounds to the best of his abilities. Strong arms wrapped around your thighs and back, and he was soon sprinting to find someone to take care of you.
You came to not much later, but every attempt to call his name was futile. It wasnât until your hands forced him to look at you that he stopped running. His expression softened as if by magic. An exhale left his lips. Zoro made no move to put you down, instead pulling you closer to his body. His hands gripped you tighter, as if to prevent you from jumping down yourself.
âDonât do that again,â he simply muttered, before resuming his walk to the ship.
