Second time in about 48 hours that I have gone into the search mines to bring out a specific pride flag for my blog only to be met with either long or thoughtless posts about how x flag is the most inferior or y flag is the most superior while shitting on other flag designs. Like, I am all for making as many flags as you want — the more the merrier no monopolies here. I would just like for people to keep in mind:

Which communities (including geographical and cultural!!!) specific flags come from and why they were created.

You do not need to be represented by every single stripe for the flag to be applicable to you.

If a flag is featuring a specific identity there's probably a reason for that, I don't care if it's ugly.

Please cite sources and inspiration! Flags represent communities and usually come from community involvement and influence.

Seriously unless a flag was made purposefully to demean or alienate others it's probably fine. You don't have to use it or prefer it and you can be annoyed with it but it doesn't mean it's the end of the world.

Pride Angels 2024

What is Pride Angels?

It is my series of angel designs in the colors of different Pride flags. I am planning to make the Pride Angels into stickers, pins, keychains, patches, and lanyards. The campaign is planned for June 2024, after Angelology IV. You can follow the pre-launch page to be notified when the campaign launches.

Can you draw X for the Pride Angels series?

Before inquiring, please check that your request is not already complete! I am not taking requests for any new flags at this time, but read on for how you can request a Pride Angel during the pin campaign. After I complete this series this year, I am not planning to make any more Pride Angels.

About the Pride Angels design request pledge tier:

If you would like to request a Pride Angel, I will have a pledge tier available in the pin campaign to pay to request one. Outside these pledge tiers I will not be accepting any requests. Please save your requests for the pin campaign!

If you nab one of the design request pledges, you can request a flag and optionally suggest a theme or inspiration. If I shared a design you liked that I ended up not going with, you could request that too.

Where can I find the 2022 Pride Angels merch?

Most of the past Pride Angels have been discontinued in my main shops, but you can still find them as pins, stickers, keychains, and patches with my stockists.

I liked an old design better. Will the old designs be available during the campaign?

Depending on order quantity I will make the 2022 Pride Angels available as stickers, keychains, pins, and patches. If they don’t meet the order threshold they will not be funded.

Can I draw a Pride Angel too?

Of course, I don’t own angels or Pride flags! If I inspired you I would love to be tagged to see and share your design.

Star Trek Pride Icons

While clearing out files on my hard drive, I found a collection of Star Trek themed pride icons I apparently made a while back and never posted. So I added a few more and here they are!

Star Trek options include: Starfleet (three styles), IDIC, Bajoran, Borg, Cardassian, Dominion, Ferengi, Klingon, and Romulan.

Hi people! Happy Pride!!

I thought this could be a good reason for me to finally dust off a bunch of cute WIPs and things I'd been meaning to convert. I think pride flags are joyful reminders of how many sides human identity might have, and this set includes, in my opinion, an incredible variety of flags. I hope it will add something nice to your game :)

- an identity i created which combines gender and sexuality relating to femininity, womanhood, lesbianism and the punk subculture.

Details & Info:

Dykepunk is a label which combines sexuality and gender related to a connection to femininity, girl/womanhood, an attraction to women/non-men and a connection to the punk subculture, especially feminist punk like "riot grrrl".

There is a rejection of femininity during childhood or adolescence due to sexism or trauma and a reconnection to femininity and acceptance of feminine gender presentation during early adulthood.

The slur "dyke" is reclaimed due to connection to lesbianism and often a rejection from society due to some form of trauma or discrimination (e.g. bullying, hate crime, rejection from community/family).

Gender identity is seen as a social construct and used as a fun and interesting way of expressing individuality rather than "fitting in" with society's expectation of gender presentation. This identity comes under the transgender (and non-binary) umbrella but gender dysphoria is not required.

Dykepunks are often rejected from the lesbian community especially if they use masculine pronouns (he/him/they/them) or present their gender in more masculine ways, e.g. taking testosterone, having top surgery etc. This identity does not specifically exclude these masculine identities/expressions. The connection to "femininity" is a feeling rather than a look; an individual can "look masculine" and still have these connections to femininity and lesbianism. This label is inclusive and can be used by any individual who feels a connection to this identity in any way.

Inspirations: punk, riot grrrl, activism, feminism, Bikini Kill, Barbara Hammer, lesbian history, the effects of discrimination and trauma on one's identity / attraction to others.

I created this identity as i felt that my gender identity and sexuality are one thing together, combined - i feel that they come hand in hand and other labels separated the two, making it hard for me to find a label that represented me, or even a community that felt accepting.
