Nervous Much? Pt. 3
> Pt.1 >> Pt.2 >>> Pt.4
Warnings: fluff, heavy kissing, teasing, plus sized!reader
“I’d love to.”
He says as you unlock your front door and lead him in. His hands stay in his pocket as he follows you toward the kitchen. He leaned against your countertop as you go to fish out the first aid kit.
“Why you getting that shit out?”
“Because, that creep got a few blows on you too. Especially with the lovely scratch on your forehead and your blistered knuckles.”
“C’mon now sweetheart, you really don’t have to do that.”
“No, you are a guest. Besides I thought you were a gentleman tonight.”
“You’re I did say that didn’t I? So I am at your disposal babycakes.”
You giggled as he bowed in your direction. You prepared your things and held Negan’s hand. Examing the small scars and a little blood you frowned. You stayed concentrated to make sure that he didn’t end up with any permanent marks.
“I’m warning this is pure alcohol and it’ll sting.”
“Whatever. I’m no pussy.”
He scoffed as you soaked a cotton ball in the solution. He then flinched at the touch and you couldn’t help but laugh at his reaction.
“Ha. Ha. Go on keep laughing it up. But I can’t help it, this fucker hurt.”
“Don’t worry it’ll be fine big boy. Now I just have get the mark on your forehead before I get out the bandages.”
He nodded and let you continue. You groaned as you had to go onto your tip toes to reach his head and forget that he’s tall. Negan giggled and brought his hand to hip to keep you secure. You finished the cleaning him up and wrapped his knuckles in gauze and a bright red bandage on his forehead.
“There you go!”
“Well I appreciate it beautiful.”
He said as he flashed a toothy smile, you went pack everything back up and feel Negan’s body press against your back. He goes to kiss the area behind your ear and you moan as the sensation sends goosebumps down your body.
“Mmm! You are sweet as a fucking peach baby.”
“I need to put this away Negan, here I’ll also make a couple of drinks.”
You say as you laugh nervously and escape his hold. He just chuckles to himself as he leans against your counter. You saw him out of the corner of your eye as he keeps his eyes on you. Walking towards the liquor cabinet and pull out a bottle of Crown Royal and Malibu.
“Which one do you want?”
“Either or honestly depends. You drink it straight or use shooters?”
“Well I have juice and coke. I like them so I don’t get drunk fast.”
“Oh yeah! I love some coke. Let’s drink up baby.”
You loved his enthusiasm and go to pull glasses out. Negan walked towards you and saw you going to unscrew the cap of one of the bottles. His hand going on top of yours. You froze in your steps and felt his finger tips going up your arm. You could feel your body heating up and his hand moving onto your shoulder then your neck. You whimpered as he turned you to face him before kissing you. His lips moving against yours slowly so he can feel you. His hands guiding you to lean against the surface as he grew more hungry with his kisses. His hands grab onto your ass to pull you to sit on the counter. You gasped at how strong he was and he took the opportunity to slip his tongue between your lips. His soft tongue massaging yours and his hands pulling your thighs to his slender waist. You whimpered at his touch and you could feel his smile against your mouth. He reaches to bring your arms onto his neck. Your fingers go into his dark hair as he moaned into the kiss. You could yourself growing more needy for him. Slowly you made out for a few minutes and pulled away to breathe again.
“Fuck you taste good. Wonder what that sweet kitten tastes like.”
He said with a dark smirk as your face turned bright red. He just loved seeing you flustered.
“Do you have to have such a dirty mouth?”
“It’s how I express my love and it’s apart of my charm.”
He smiled and you couldn’t fight the grin on your face.
“Do you still want that drink?”
“Not really. But maybe we could move this to the bedroom?”
You nodded and laughed when lifted you in his arms. You just pointed him in the right direction and he happily kicked the door opened. He placed you onto the bed and you for once you felt confident.
“Before we really get into this baby, I really need to piss.”
“Oh the bathroom is right behind you.”
“Thanks sugar lips.”
He smiled as he walked away. You sat up to get comfortable and strip away your clothes. Soon you were left in your panties as you didn’t want to have hassle with your bra. As the door began opening you moved under the sheets. Negan appeared but without a shirt this time. He smirked and made his way to crawl on top of you.
“Hmm I wonder what you got hiding under here. Let Daddy have a look.”
He says as he hooks a singular finger on the top of the covers. At first you resisted but then he pulled hard to reveal you to him. Negan let out a low growl as he took you in.
“Holy shit princess. You’ve got a smokin’ hot body here. Can’t wait to eat you all up and have you screaming my name.”
You bit your lip as he dived in and by kissing on your neck and massaging on your breasts in his hand. You moan at the nice feeling and hold onto his shoulders. Your slipped shut and the bed felt so warm and comfortable.
Morning came quick as you woke to Negan spooning you. He was in his boxers and you couldn’t remember anything from last night. You shifted and sat up to try to remember something, but nothing came to mind.
“Morning sunshine.”
“Hey. Did we have sex? Because if we did then I can’t remember it.”
“Nah we didn’t. You actually fell asleep before we got things going.”
You covered your face and groaned loudly out of embarrassment.
“Oh my gosh! You gotta be kidding me. I’m so sorry Negan.”
“For what? You were tired. And I had to admit you’re cute when you sleep.”
You didn’t say much as Negan moved closed and gently ran his fingers down your back. You giggled at the tickling feeling and lean back to lay on his stomach.
“I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be baby.”
“But I feel like I’m leading you on and-“
“Hush that bullshit. You’re not leading me on and besides if I thought that I wouldn’t be here. But I really fucking like you and I enjoyed our time together sweetheart.”
“So you think that we could try again?”
“I mean I won’t say no baby. But let’s do that later and just go back to sleep.”
You agree and go back into his warm embrace as he covered you both up.
Part 4 coming soon…smut

EXO with Y/N at a fair
So, this is for my lovely friend who wanted to have some fluff, here you are my baby! Enjoy!
Suho
,,I’m so excited!’’ you giggled as you prepared the sandwiches, putting some salad on the soft bread.
You heard your boyfriend laugh from the bath where he was currently preparing the first aid kit.
,,Junmyeon?’’ you suddenly called him, feeling his hands around your body a few seconds later.
He put his head on your shoulders as he looked at the fruits you prepared and the muffins you baked.
You put something in his mouth which he gladly began to chew before you told him your worries.
,,Will they like it?’’ you asked him.
Suho kissed your cheek when he gulped your food and assured you that they would go crazy for your snacks.
,,But isn’t it too much work?’’ he then asked you, but quickly realized that it was something that made you happy.
A few hours later, you all stood at the entrate and you were just so nervous.
The bag was on your boyfriend’s shoulders while he held your hand.
Half of the members carried the bag, making sure to change so that it wouldn’t get too hard to carry.
,,Let’s go there!’’ you laughed and tried to run towards a shop.
,,So crowned,’’ you heard Chen laugh as all nine members were in the shop, fooling around with the merchandise.
It was a funny day and it felt like a big family journey.
Chanyeol
,,No! I don’t want to get wet!’’ you complained as you tried to take your boyfriend to a calm drive while he tried to make you change your opinion.
,,Dear guests, in a few minutes our animal show will begin. Everyone who’s interested please feel free to enter the hall in the southern side of the park!’’ a woman’s voice said.
Both of you looked at each other before you quickly entered the entrance hand in hand, getting the best spots.
Dolphins did acrobatics with other people and amazing water shows were shown.
Penguins were shown, which at some point made your boyfriend clap his hands, making him look as if he was one of them.
Honestly, his face amused you more than the show did.
Baekhyun
Your boyfriend at first was a totally obsessed boyfriend.
He never let go of your hand, made sure that no one bumped into you, and even carried the stuff you brought along.
But it was less than a minute until you guys entered the fair.
,,WAHHHHH!“ he happily laughed and threw the bag on the floor, letting go of your hand and running to hug the mascot.
You had to laugh too at his funny behavior and quickly picked up the bag.
,,Y/N! Y/N! Let’s eat the candies back there!“ he exclaimed as he pulled you along, making you giggle again.
The both of you did everything and were even more childish than the children around you.
,,Baekhyun, come on babe. You don’t have to win the teddy bear for me!“ you tried to convince your boyfriend who never gave up.
And after he lost almost half of his money and spent more than double for the teddy bear, he finally gave it to you with a smile brighter than the sun and told you that he loved you a lot.
Chen
Hand in hand, you walked through the fair.
You two just spent half an hour on a bench, trying to dry in the sun after you got wet from the last ride.
It was funny because the ride itself wouldn’t make you that wet, but people could spend money from the outside to splash you with water.
And that’s why the both of you were resting on a bench, trying to dry your clothes.
But finally you could go on, looking at the different stations and enjoying the sight of the children having fun.
,,Know what I thought of?“ you asked him.
He looked at you and gave you a sign that you could tell him everything.
,,Maybe later on in the future, we can come here as a family… or we could take along Chanyeol and Baekhyun. They would be just like children!“ you laughed and made him chuckle too.
,,Let’s do it…!“ he nodded.
Suddenly you stayed firm in front of a haunted house and grinned at him.
,,No, Y/N, let’s do something else…“ he almost begged you.
,,Pleaaase!“ you whined.
,,No, let’s go…“ he said as he tried to pressure you. However, he lost and got pulled in by you. He was shocked a few seconds later on after a zombie tried to pull him into a corner.
Kai
,,HAHAHAHAHA!“ he laughed at you when he saw you with the silly clothes the staff made you wear.
You and Kai wanted to play paint ball, however you quickly noticed that the game looked easier than it actually was.
Instead, you hid yourself and observed your boyfriend shooting at other players.
,,Aish, Y/N, we wanted to stop fangirling over him,’’ you hissed to yourself as you felt hot watching him.
However, due to you watching Kai, you didn’t see that some player was about to shoot you.
,,WAHH!’’ Kai laughed and shot at the person behind you, making you quiver at his action.
In the end, someone else still shot you.
,,At least I could take revenge,’’ he laughed as the both of you licked the ice cream he bought.
,,That’s true, you were so cute!’’ you laughed and took his hand.
It was already dark and the parade, which walked down the street, began.
A lot of colors came up, making you gasp at its beauty.
,,Y/N,’’ suddenly he whispered, making you turn your head to Kai.
,,I love you,’’ he whispered and kissed you while the fireworks began to show their beauty in the sky.
Xiumin
,,Oh no no no no no no no!’’ he laughed as you showed him different haunted houses.
,,Okay,’’ you laughed and kissed Xiumin.
Today it was your anniversary and so Xiumin finally made your wish come true and brought you to the fair.
It was a beautiful day.
The sun was shining, but it wasn’t that hot and the atmosphere was really good.
There were so many things you and your boyfriend wanted to test out.
,,How about we go on the horses back there?’’ you said as you pointed to the carousel.
Xiumin looked at you and strongly nodded.
Laughing, the both of you ran over there.
He got on a white horse and you got on a pink unicorn next to him.
You kept chuckling on the children's carousel and took a lot of pictures, sending them straight into the EXO group chat.
,,Oh! Look there!’’ you suddenly exclaimed after both of you finally stood on the ground again.
Xiumin tried to follow your finger as you pointed at a big doll which represented Spongebob.
Since Spongebob was his favorite cartoon, both of you followed the yellow man and managed to take a picture.
,,Thank you for being my boyfriend,’’ you finally mumbled as you both sat on the green grass and kissed each other.
D.O
,,I’m sorry,’’ you whispered as your boyfriend put a wet towel over your face.
,,It’s okay, don’t worry, Y/N,’’ he said to try to make you feel better.
,,Come here, you need to drink,’’ he mumbled and tried to make you drink as he wet his own lips.
A few seconds later, you finally fell asleep.
The day began perfectly fine.
Both of you were having a lot of fun at the fair.
You kept walking around, taking pictures as you saw a lot of beautiful flowers.
You went on a few drives and even sat down below a beautiful tree to eat the food Kyungsoo prepared for the both of you.
However, you suddenly fainted when you wanted to get up again and found yourself on the bed in the medical room of the fair.
When you suddenly collapsed in his arms, he forgot what to do.
Luckily, people around him helped out.
,,I’m so sorry,’’ Kyungsoo himself mumbled as he observed you.
He actually wanted to make your birthday perfect, however, he forgot how weak you were against the warmth and how quickly you could faint if you didn’t stay hydrated.
,,Can we go on one last ride?’’ you asked him as both of you were about to go home.
You just wanted to go on the magical ride which drove you through the park.
Kyungsoo was hesitant, but then agreed, making sure that you would drink a lot of water.
,,I love you, my considerate boyfriend,’’ you laughed and kissed him when you were on your way home.
Sehun
,,Oh!’’ you exclaimed and looked at the shop which was filled with little souvenirs like caps, shirts, or pens.
Both of you suddenly had the same thought as you looked at the funny and beautiful souvenirs.
,,We need to get something for the members!’’ both of you said at the same time.
Your laughter echoed through the shop as you began to choose what the members may like.
,,Okay, we spend our money on presents for our dear friends,’’ you began.
,,Should be we drive some carousels?’’ you asked him, which made him nood.
He followed you around the whole time and smiled to himself whenever he saw your happy face while watching some rides.
The day unfortunately went by quickly, but both of you were more than happy.
You went on every ride, even the ones which were very scary and totally risky for the both of you.
,,It feels so good to know that you tried to overcome your own fear, right?’’ you asked him.
Sehun nodded.
It was true that thanks to you, he got to do things that he wouldn’t have done if you would have done it alone.
,,Thank you,’’ you suddenly said before you were ready to head over to the parking lot.
Lay
,,Here,’’ you mumbled when you finally succeeded at fishing out the scarf from the bag.
Sadly, the day was kind of windy.
And since you knew that he was sensitive to the wind, you made sure that he was warm.
Hand in hand you walked down, looking at different rides.
,,Let’s first look through them and then decide which one we will ride first, okay?’’ you asked him, unsure if your idea was a good one.
But your boyfriend quickly nodded, making it seem as if he was okay with it.
A few minutes later, both of you sat in various rides or played some mini games.
,,AHHHHHHHH!’’ you screamed when you rushed down in the big car.
Both of you were currently having a lot of fun, especially after you finally got the picture they took of you while riding the carousel. It was funny.
Lay also made a few jokes about you and then finally took your hand before walking on.
After all there were a few things to do, like feeding the animals and having a beautiful lunch with you for free.

Conversations, Conversations, in the Early Morning Glow
Of all the things James was expecting to see today, Sirius Black sitting on his couch at five-thirty in the morning was certainly not one of them.
He had been prepared to get up early, make some coffee and maybe an omelette, and head out for a quick jog before practice. But when he turned on the light, there Sirius was, one leg propped up over his knee, fingers drumming nervously on the sole of his shoe.
Sirius looked up. They stared at each other for a moment, and then James took off his glasses and put them back on again. “Hello,” he said.
Sirius bothered with none of the preamble. “How do you tell someone you’re in love with them?”
“What the fuck?”
“I’m in love with someone and I want to tell them so, but I don’t know how.”
After taking a moment to process this information, James walked over to the kitchen. “I need caffeine for this conversation,” he said, glancing backward over his shoulder. “Want a coffee?”
“I—yeah. Sure. No sugar—”
“Lots of milk. I know.”
They grinned at each other, but Sirius’s smile was slightly… off. There was something tense about it, almost like he was holding back.
The coffee machine whirred quietly to life, red light blinking on, and James grabbed two mugs from the cupboard: the WORLD’S BEST DAD one Kuny had given him after Harry’s birth, and the one with the rubber ducks Sirius always used. He filled the kettle with water, flipped the switch on the side, and finally spun around to face his friend.
Sirius had hopped up to sit on the counter and was swinging his legs slightly, bumping them in turns against the dishwasher; his gaze was focused somewhere on the floor in front of him. James paused for a moment before walking over and sitting beside him. “If Lily catches us, we’re both toast,” he said, finally, trying to lighten the mood. The corners of Sirius’s lips twitched up only slightly, and that was when James knew something was truly bothering him.
“So.” The two of them took a breath almost in unison. “I’m going to need some backstory here. Are you in a relationship with this person? Are you merely admiring from afar?”
“In a relationship.”
No matter what he had asked, James had assumed Sirius was merely harbouring a crush. He’d thought that surely, if Sirius was dating someone, he’d say something about it. “You have a girlfriend? And you didn’t tell me?”
“That’s the other thing.” A pause, like he was working up the courage to say something. “I’m gay, James.”
For the second time that morning, James took a moment to process this. He arranged his face—or tried to, anyway—into an expression that less resembled someone who had recently run into a brick wall, and then he put a reassuring hand on Sirius’s shoulder. “You have a boyfriend? And you didn’t tell me?”
The look of relief Sirius gave him was both immense and immediate. “Well, it’s pretty recent. Only a few months, really—since my birthday—and… I was scared. I’m still scared, but not as much as I was. But I love him. I really, really love him, and I want him to know that.”
Nodding, James slid forward off the counter to pour the now-boiling water into the top of the coffee machine. “Is it anyone I know? Is he from Gryffindor?”
“Yeah, you know him. It’s—well, it’s Loops.”
“Remus?” James jerked his hand backwards, away from the spill of hot water from the kettle. He hissed in pain when a drop landed on his wrist. “Remus Lupin? Our PT?”
“One and the same.” Even without looking, he could hear the smile in Sirius’s voice.
“And you want to tell him you love him?”
“Yeah.”
“And you came to me for advice?”
Sirius leaned over and smacked his arm. “I can’t tell whether you’re insulting yourself or me more.”
“Shut up. But in all ser—sincerity… does he love you, too?”
“I think so,” Sirius said, biting his lip. “I hope he does, anyway. I don’t know what I’ll do if he doesn’t.”
James whistled quietly, not wanting to risk waking Harry. A crying child was the last thing either of them needed. “God, you’ve got it bad, haven’t you?”
“Yeah.”
“Look.” James crossed his arms, staring Sirius right in the eyes. “I’m only going to say this once. You are my best friend. You are the third most important person in my life, falling just behind my wife-to-be and my son. If I had to pick one person to be stranded with on a deserted island, the only reason I would not choose you is that I think we would die within a week because neither of us actually has that much common sense. That being said, there are very few situations in which I would not trust you with my life. In the words of the youth, you are my bro.”
“Why is this starting to sound like a marriage proposal?”
“Fuck off. The point is, Pads, you deserve the best of the best. You deserve someone you love and who loves you. If that’s Loops, that’s amazing and I support you. If it ends up not being him, I’ll be here for you, and I’ll make sure any future boyfriends you may have don’t break your heart. Got that?”
For a moment, Sirius said nothing, and James grew more and more worried by the second. “Cap? You okay?”
“No, I’m not okay, you fucker; I’m crying.”
“I hope they’re happy tears.”
“What do you think?” Swiping the back of his hand across his eyes, Sirius let a grin spread across his face. “Are we supposed to bro hug now?”
“You know what; why not.” Even just two years ago, they would have put their arms around each other nervously before awkwardly pulling away again (hell, two years ago Sirius probably wouldn’t have suggested it in the first place), but now they were miles past that, James even rubbing a noogie onto the crown of Sirius’s head.
“Coffee machine looks like it’s about to overflow.”
“Oh, thanks.” There was a comfortable silence as James poured out two mugs of coffee and added milk (Sirius’s) and sugar (his own), not broken until Sirius, mug in hand, said quietly, “How do you think I should tell him?”
“Well, my advice, which is flawed at the best of times, would be to just tell him. But if you were planning on doing that, then chances are you wouldn’t have come to me in the first place.”
“I want it to be… I dunno. Romantic.” Sirius raised his coffee to his lips, taking a sip. “This is the worst coffee I have ever had in my life.”
“Well, duh. For the romantic part, I mean. Not the coffee.”
Laughing under his breath, Sirius poked him. “Try it. It sucks.”
“It does not—oh.”
“Told you so.”
James was halfway through pouring his coffee down the drain when Sirius’s phone rang. Both men froze.
“Who is it?”
Sirius fished the phone out of his pocket, checking the caller ID. He visibly relaxed at what he saw, swiping up to answer. “It’s Remus,” he whispered.
It was only thanks to the silence of the house that James could hear the voice on the other end of the line.
“Baby?” Remus asked. “I’m, uh, I’m at your house—I bused—and, um, your car’s not here.”
“Oh, fuck, is it six already?”
“Yeah.” After a moment, he added, “Where are you?”
“At the Potters’. I’m with James.”
“Are you okay?”
A smile flickered over Sirius’s face. “Yeah. I’m great. I… I came out to him.”
James held his breath until—”Oh,” said Remus.
“Oh? Is that—is that okay? Should I have waited—”
“No, no, of course not,” Remus assured him, the emotion in his voice audible even through the speaker. “I’m just surprised. And I’m proud. God, baby, I’m so fucking proud of you.”
“I’m proud of me, too.”
“As you should be. Hey, I’m hugging you right now. You feel that? That’s my arms. And now I’m kissing you. Okay?”
Sirius actually giggled, a sound James had never heard him make before. “I’m kissing you back.”
James wasn’t sure whether he grabbed the phone to put at least a temporary stop to all the mushiness, or whether his intention stayed the same all along. In any case, the first thing he said after wresting it out of Sirius’s grasp and pressing it to his own ear was “If you hurt my bro, I’ll kill you.”
“Hi, James.”
“Got it?”
“Yeah, I got it. But between you and me—and Sirius, I guess, ‘cause he’s probably listening, too—if I ever hurt him, I think I’d die before you even chose your weapon.”
When James glanced over, he saw that Sirius’s eyes were shining.
“Oh,” Remus added. “And please send Cap back over here. He’s not just my boyfriend; he’s my ride to practice.”
“You got it.” He waited until Remus hung up to say, “Hey, Sirius?”
Sirius took the phone when James held it out to him. “Yeah?”
“Get out of my house and go get your man.”
“Oui.” He slid off the countertop, landing on the floor with a slight thud.
“Oh, and one more thing.”
“Yeah?”
“What Loops said? Over the phone? If that’s not love, I don’t know what is.”
He got a grin for that, but he also got an elbow in the ribs as Sirius passed by him. “I’m going to tell him. Today.”
“You do that.”
“Wish me luck. I’ll see you at practice.”
“See you,” James said, leaning against the doorframe. “And you’ve already got all the luck you need.”
***
He hadn’t forgotten. He really hadn’t. He’d just had a lot on his mind, and Sirius’s promise of ‘today’ was pushed to the back. But when Cap’s car pulled into the parking lot with Loops in the passenger’s seat, it was brought immediately to the front again. He watched as they shared a warm, private smile, eyes not breaking contact for almost ten seconds.
As soon as they walked through the arena doors, James was there to ambush them. “Good morning, gentlemen.”
“Wipe that smirk off your face.”
“Well, we are temperamental today.”
“It’s because of your godawful coffee.”
“Touché.”
Sirius smacked his arm. “I’m serious—and please don’t make that pun. I would like to be left alone with my boyfriend, with whom I am very much in love.”
“All right, all right!” James said, raising his arms in mock surrender. Go make out in the PT room; I won’t stop you.”
Remus smiled when Sirius turned to him. “Yeah, sure, we can do that later. You go ahead—I need to talk to Pots for a sec.”
“‘Kay. Love ya.”
“Love you, too.”
Waiting until Sirius disappeared down the hallway to speak, Remus pursed his lips, trying to smother a grin. “Thank you,” he said, finally. “That—how accepting you are, I mean—means a lot to him.”
“I know.”
“No, really. You were the first… you’re the only person he’s told, other than me. Coming out to you—it really goes to show how much more comfortable he is with himself. When we got together… well, he’s really come a long way.”
James waited for a moment, sorting through the emotions in his head. “The thing is… I made him feel like I wouldn’t be accepting. This morning, when we were talking, he said he was scared. I’m part of the reason he was scared.”
Already, Remus was shaking his head. “He wasn’t scared you wouldn’t be accepting; he was scared of other people finding out. No, not of you telling people. Just that they’d find out.”
“That literally makes no sense.”
“Look, James, the way he grew up—if there’s one thing he learned it’s that if you tell one, you’ve told them all. He came out when he was ready to come out. Maybe not to the world—not yet—but to you.”
He nodded slowly. “I think I’ve got it. Oh—and, Remus?”
“Yeah?”
“He makes you really happy, doesn’t he?”
“Really happy.” Even without the words, Remus’s grin would have said it all.
“You make him happy, too. Happier than I’ve seen him in a long time.”
“Thanks—”
“Don’t mess it up.”
Remus laughed. “I should have known. Trust me, though, Pots; I’ve got no intention too.”
That seemed to be that—James made his way to the locker room, catching Sirius’s eyes upon entry and winking. Sirius simply rolled his eyes and walked over, bumping their shoulders together. “What did you guys talk about?”
James didn’t even try to lie. “You, mostly.”
“Should have guessed.” Glancing away briefly, Sirius lowered his voice to barely more than a whisper. “Thanks, by the way.”
“For what?”
“Bullying me into telling Loops I love him?”
“Eh, that was mostly you. I just kind of stood there and let you talk at me.”
“Fuck off.”
“Really, though.” James was only partly joking when he added, “I’ll be here for you again when you want to propose.”
A red flush spread across Sirius’s cheeks. “Maybe not for a while yet,” he said, smiling straight ahead at the jersey hanging in his locker. “But someday.”

The Unforgotten King
A Dimimari drabble that fits into Fae's post canon.
The icy winds pouring down from the frigid Fraldarian mountains were starting to upset the horses with how cold they were. Many roads this far north were impassable for carriages; even the main roads, which in many cases were the only option, were made to constrict the approach of enemies and allies alike, venturing to and from the historically chaotic northern border, and the capital to the south.
They had come first by boat and then followed the trade routes carved out by the fishing villages on the eastern coast.
Marianne held her scarf against the chill, wincing and shaking her head about Dimitri, with his scarf pulled down around his smile as he spoke about his homeland. He'd long ago let his hat fall back around his shoulders, secured by a cord about his neck, and his bound hair was a tangle as a result of the gales. He was going home, and it was as clear in his person as it was in his temperament. His nose and cheeks were pink and frozen, and his beard was gelid with frost, but the Faerghan climate suited him. Marianne even suspected that the temperature might have been harsh on another man's injuries, but Dimitri was only livelier by the mile.
Some might have said he was as a boy gone to the fair, but she knew him too well now, and could see the flit of his eye as he watched the forests. He was fighting his hauntings and his memories of war, and trusting her and their guard with his insecurities. A vast improvement when compared to the dreary state of his heart and mind during the year or two past.
Marianne had worried that despite Dimitri's growth, that returning to Faerghus was going to upset him and his friends, when he and they found him without the crown, without the armour and attire one expected of a king, and with the continued trauma of never having achieved his vengeance. She was overjoyed that it was nothing so simple.
.
"Do you see how the trees have turned from green to blue here?" Dimitri asked, gesturing to the evergreens, brightening as Marianne nodded. "They say the Goddess took pity on the verdant evergreens of Fodlan after her first ice storm, and blessed all the trees north of Conand River with a piece of her home on the Blue Sea Star, that they might from then on weather the storms."
Marianne held her scarf from her face as she replied, "They're quite beautiful. I hear they house wildlife too? I would have expected we'd only find migratory birds out in these temperatures."
"It would be wonderful to hear an owl at night," Dimitri mused. "You are right, though. There are a variety of creatures in the underbrush."
"As stubborn as any Faerghan," Marianne joked. "Although I suspect, in regards to your tale of a blessing, that similar accounts are told of the seas themselves, rather than only of Faerghan forests. Anything blue."
Dimitri had blushed and laughed awkwardly at Marianne's initial declaration, knowing that it was true that sailors in Faerghus were revered and worried perhaps even that he had misremembered his own short yarn, but then he'd smiled and contributed softly, "It is a color dear to my heart."
"Because of your house banner?" Marianne asked as if to confirm, offering Dimitri no space to argue. "Perhaps a square or kerchief could be sewn in one of your pillows? Or some other secret space? I am sorry that you're only clad as one of my guards."
Dimitri shook his head. "An honor. I am glad to ride beside you, Mari— my lady, and ... maybe with the right materials, I could try to award myself with the gift you suggest. It would be a small and challenging project for a man of my extremely limited skill."
.
Upon their arrival at the manor in Fraldarius, they were escorted to the entrance hall, where Dimitri embarrassed Rodrigue with a bow and an embrace.
"Dimitri," Rodrigue said softly, as a reprimand and a prayer, testing the name, free of title and ornamentation. "It is good to see you again. If Felix had not seen you himself, I would have assumed a ruse or extortion." He pulled away, a hand still on his once and fallen king's shoulder. "To bury you, would be as burying another son—"
"Rodrigue—" Dimitri said, meaning to interrupt.
"Humor me," he begged. "Hear me. Not only am I proud to host you, in secret, in public, but should you ever need a home in Faerghus, we will never turn you away." Rodrigue swept a tear from his eyes, "Hm. I think you'll find my lack of decorum is your fault, for hugging me first—"
"My sincerest—"
Rodrigue chuckled. "Don't apologize. Just know that I intended to be more reserved, for the sake of Lady Marianne, if not for that of my son."
"Where is Felix?" asked Dimitri, as a door to the entrance hall opened at the top of a far stair, and Felix, Annette, Sylvain and Ingrid rushed out of it.
Although Felix had been to visit him in Margrave Edmund's territory three times, Dimitri could not suppress his joy at his friend's reveal, and after Rodrigue's admission, he could either hope that Felix too thought of him more fondly, or else worry that he needed to apologize to the younger Fraldarius for what he'd inspired in his father. "Felix!"
Dimitri spared a glance for Marianne, who waved him off delicately so that he could rush to his friends at the base of the stair. She shared a far more respectable greeting with Duke Fraldarius.
.
"Wait—!" Felix started to object, but too late or with too little conviction to keep Dimitri from fitting his arms around him and Ingrid and squeezing them to his chest.
Ingrid laughed happily, and Felix scoffed when Sylvain was greeted with only a joined hand and a clap on the shoulder, though Annette then jumped into Dimitri's arms.
"I half worried it was an exaggeration," Dimitri said softly. "That you all could make it."
"Mercedes and Dedue's boat is expected tomorrow," Sylvain said to assure him.
"Ashe won't be here for a week," Annette lamented as her feet hit the floor, "but I hear that will be long enough to see you?"
"I won't leave before," Dimitri promised. "It would break my heart if his journey from Gaspard was fruitless."
"Did you know that he needed to wait for Linhardt to take up residence in Gaspard?" asked Ingrid. "To deter the Adrestians from overreaching — even now."
"As well as general rebellion," Felix supplied. "Things aren't exactly settled that far west."
"You're helping him?" Dimitri confirmed, and a part of his heart stirred to be able to have this conversation with Felix in person, rather than over a period of days by letter.
"Fhirdiad's helping him," Felix said and then frowned when the others around Dimitri looked at him more directly, and corrected himself. "Yes, I'm helping him."
Fhirdiad had been Felix's home and his charge these past few years. He had taken up the title of Archduke and wielded his role with purpose. He always intended to return to Fraldarius, imagining that there would be an opportunity to suggest another lord be honoured with the capital region, but some days he worried he had sealed his fate. His father, and Sylvain, were less subtle in their matching inquiries about his return, but it seemed all others were slowly becoming accustomed to him sitting in that place of kings in the more temperate south.
"I appreciate it," Dimitri said carefully.
"There'll be plenty of time to worry about the shadow of dissent tomorrow," Sylvain said, looking to change the subject. "What are you wearing?"
"Oh," Dimitri said in surprise, looking down at himself, dressed as a Leicester soldier in wool and armour.
"Are you warm enough?" asked Annette, turning over a side of his cloak to assess its thickness.
Dimitri chuckled. "I'm plenty warm, I—"
"How many layers is that?" Ingrid inquired critically.
"Do the rest of Marianne's escorts have hats like this?" asked Sylvain, propping Dimitri's upon his golden hair.
"Four. No, most have wool lined leather caps."
"Four? Like this? That's not enough," Ingrid worried.
"We'll warm him with drink and games," Sylvain suggested. "Maybe dancing if Annette feels like singing?"
Annette squeaked in protest, but Felix spoke first.
"You're being ridiculous. Dimitri's had a long ride—"
Dimitri's lips tightened to hear Felix call him by name, and he spoke gently, worried he might break this simple spell of friendship when he spoke in favour of Sylvain's suggestions, "I think it would be nice to drink with everyone, but I might like to bathe first. I fear as soon as I loosen my collar my sweat will thaw from where it's frozen upon me."
Three exaggerated tongues of disgust extended in sympathy.
"Do you want to stay inside?" asked Felix. "Wood fires can heat baths in the lower levels."
"Oh, no, lets show Marianne the hot springs," Annette said, as if pleading with Dimitri, though he would have agreed without any provocation.
"I would like that," he agreed, looking at Felix for permission.
With an expression of vague annoyance, Felix nodded, and then he and Dimitri each glanced to where Marianne continued her conversation with Rodrigue.
.
There was a social element to the hot springs that Marianne feared, but Sylvain made a joke that set her at ease, and challenged her to try the new experience.
Dimitri half expected Felix to return home after dutifully guiding their group to their destination, and thanked him for his continued company and conversation, such as it was, while they sat together in the steaming water. Sylvain was kind and assertive, inspecting Dimitri's right side as he stretched his arm and took advantage of the heat, to massage strong fingers into his shoulder.
Elsewhere, Ingrid and Annette had Marianne giggling as the trio raced from the spring to the snow and back again each time they grew over-red from being boiled together.
Later, they drank and reminisced, and Ingrid pulled Dimitri aside, to reaffirm that she would have been his knight and protector ... and that she still would, if he wanted to pursue his place in Fhirdiad. She saw no reason to defer to the law in Garreg Mach when Faerghus could still have its own king, and if not that, then at least he could be recognized, as the rest of them were, within Fodlan's nobility.
The shock that overtook Dimitri frightened her, when she had only meant to offer him his ancestral home, and the respect many had died to get him.
Sylvain and Felix were in listening distance, and Ingrid had known that; the four of them looked to Marianne, weaving Annette's hair in a five strand braid, while they spoke of seals and bears and other creatures that plagued the harbours.
Felix hissed about how Ingrid would throw them from one war into another, reminding her that Dimitri was hidden away precisely to avoid what she was suggesting: that there would be people willing to die for their rightful king to reclaim his place in Fhirdiad.
Everything would change if Dimitri returned, and they'd lose the trust of the Adrestians, especially Ferdinand, when they had already been caught in another lie.
"You can't come back," Felix said to finish his argument. Aggressive, nervous, cruel.
"Dimitri should be given a choice now that he's recovered," Ingrid said, firm.
"He's recovering," Sylvain insisted.
With a great expression of self control, Dimitri maintained his volume as he declared for his friends' forgotten benefit, "I am right here." He waited for the shame to silence them before he went on. "And things are not ... how I envisioned them — how I wanted them? My mind and upbringing feel ... wasteful, at times; and yet I have been consulted," he sighed, "on strategy and trade, customs and etiquette — by Felix and Marianne both. My input is heard in Faerghus and Leicester, and if I willed it, I am sure that Garreg Mach is within my reach ... even Almyra."
Sylvain raised his tankard in salute as he walked away then, seeing that a fight wasn't about to break out, and that Dimitri had their conversation well in hand. He complimented Annette's hair, and strove to further distract the ladies from the dark turn of that other corner of the room.
"If Faerghus was threatened, I would find my way back here, lance in hand. But I trust the peace that's been building. And the crown, as it was, only invited duplicity and massacres. Faerghus will thrive without me." With one arm he embraced Ingrid, pressing a kiss to her temple. "And Sylvain is right, I have been recovering. I would not risk all of Faerghus' progress, all of your work," his eyes drifted to Felix for a moment, "because I could not accept the truth of what a minister said. I still struggle. I am more comfortable with smaller challenges ... and I would appreciate your reassurance of our friendship as I am."
"Of course, Mitya," Ingrid insisted.
"Thank you."
"I miss you," Ingrid clarified. "I miss... The lives I thought I'd have by now."
"Change is painful," Felix agreed, sharp and forgiving.
"Yours is a life worth celebrating," Dimitri promised. He drank at the same time as his old friends, and then fumbled after, worried about sounding too much like his healers, but still he added, "Take time to recognize success."
Their quiet conversation was interrupted by Marianne and Annette hollering with laughter, and Dimitri could not even imagine Marianne's disappointment in him if in returning to Fhirdiad he brought a new conflict to her doorstep. He could not imagine his own heartbreak if their peoples ever returned to bloodshed. Sadly, he had imagined his horror with the possibility of witnessing another day like the tragedy, his blue love desecrated, their hypothetical children screaming, and him again, a lone survivor.
He would not speak of this in casual conversation with his friends, though perhaps in private with Marianne at some later time.
He was grateful for his anonymity.
.
It was late in the night when they made for bed, and Marianne was as drunk as he, and Dimitri worried between her state and their locale that he shouldn't have followed behind the door of her rooms. They had lain together a handful of times, but not for weeks now, yet she pressed him against the door like it was a casual thing, delicate fingers curving over his hips.
They leaned close as if they might kiss, and then she turned her face away from him with a sigh.
"I hope I haven't made a fool of myself. Did you have a good night, Mitya?"
"Beloved," Dimitri beckoned, curving a large hand around the side of her face, his scarred fingers had been mended and shattered an embarrassing number of times in the early use of his Crest. He guided her to look at him, his shining blue eye, deep as the ocean in the dark of the room.
"Thank you for bringing me here," he said, his tone deep and sincere. "The snow, the culture, my friends... I missed them more than I realized. I've had a very good night."
His last sentence was near whispered upon her lips, his thick lower lip tickling against her mouth.
Eyes closed, Marianne hummed her approval, bumping her nose against Dimitri's; narrow and then bulbous, a pretty princely feature that somehow he still maintained despite the violence in his life.
He bent to kiss Marianne, his hands finding her upper arms, her shoulders, her neck, and her twin braids, a gift from Annette that extended nearly to Marianne's waist.
"I should let you sleep," Dimitri whispered, though he felt how Marianne's hands wandered, pressing his shirt against the muscles on his chest and stomach.
Marianne looked from her bed to Dimitri. "Let me sit," she requested, "and I'll untie your hair. Stay with me a while longer." She swayed a little and Dimitri worried he would have to catch her. "Your friends are kind," Marianne confided, "but it felt a little strange as the night wore on, and maybe it's just me, and maybe it's just the building, but I know I can rely on you. Say you'll stay."
"A while longer," Dimitri agreed, drifting a thumb through her bangs as his hand rested on the side of her tightly bound hair again.
He sat between her knees while she pulled the ribbon from his fine hair, carefully carding through it with her fingers around the strap of his eye patch, and then allowing her hands to find the muscles of his neck, thick from stress and training.
One dainty foot made it's way over one of Dimitri's monstrous shoulders, and he brought the opposite one over his other side, leaning back into Marianne's space so her skirt ballooned out around him. They shared a soft laugh.
"Did you have any trouble today?" Marianne asked, gentle in her approach of his occasional visions.
"I thought of Glenn," Dimitri confided, "but I am uncertain if I saw him or imagined him today. There are many memories of him here. And ... at the gates, I ... I saw some violence that was not there, but I could not hear it. I'll write it down tomorrow."
"Tell me about Glenn? There must be a happy memory tucked into what came to mind."
"He would have made you feel welcome," Dimitri insisted with a smile. "He was very personable, and I was always glad to be in his company — though I was always closer with Felix, and so thought, like Felix, that I was in contest with him. Unless my Crest activated, I was always left embarrassed, and regardless of whether my Crest activated, I always lost. Felix was often disappointed in both of us."
.
Dimitri spoke of friends like family until well after Marianne curled up on her side. He stayed on the floor, and spoke with less frequency, though the memories didn't fade. He could picture Glenn on the opposite side of the room, a macabre spectre of the self from his memories, but it wasn't a hallucination this time, just a horrible imagining, the loss of a friend.
Dimitri kissed Marianne's forehead, and she mumbled that she was still awake, despite sounding as if she were miles away. Still, Dimitri smiled and kissed her lips, just in case, and then left for his own chamber.

CW insecurity, mentions of food but only briefly
It was the first warm and sunny day of the year and the team had a day off so they decided to meet up at the park, a whole bunch of hockey players spread all over the grass. Cap and Loops where laying on a blanket, making little flower crowns for each other, Pots was throwing Harry in the air, who’s giggling made everybody’s heart go wide. Dumo and Celeste where cuddling on a bench while watching their kids on the playground.
Regulus was currently seated next to Leo. The two of them were chatting about the newest videogame, while Logan let his gaze wander. Every couple on his team could show affection in public and for a blissful second Logan let himself think about how it would be, if he could kiss Leo or hold Finn’s hand now. It wasn't like he didn't want it, of course he wanted to show the world how much he loved his boys but, well, he was scared. He was scared of the reaction because this wasn’t “just” another gay couple in the NHL, no, this was a polyamorous relationship in the NHL. It was a big deal.
The day went by in a heartbeat and soon the three of them were back in the apartment, getting ready to call it a day. Finn and Logan were already in their bed, while Leo was still in the kitchen preparing some food for tomorrow, cleaning up the last bits from the morning.
Logan was not well known for talking about his thoughts and feelings, but for once he felt like sharing, so he turned around to face Finn.
“Finn?” Logan’s voice was uncharacteristically small, which was why Finn’s head almost immediately snapped towards him.
“Are you finally going to tell me what has been on your mind all day long?”
Logan didn’t even question how he knew. It was quiet for another minute.
“Do you think Leo deserves better?”
Finn put his book down and let out a sad sigh.
“Lo, you have no idea how much I think about that. Like today? I want to give him what the others have but- but-”
“You don’t have to explain. I know exactly what you are talking about,” Logan’s voice was thick with tears by now, “I just want him to have the happiness with someone who is ready to share it with the world. And- and he does so much else.”
Finn nodded and pulled him against his chest not even trying to stop the few tears in his eyes from spilling over. They didn’t hear Leo’s footsteps so they were a bit surprised when the door opened and Leo stepped in with two steaming mugs of tea.
Said blonde boy nearly dropped the hot liquid the moment he saw the state his boyfriends were in. Leo hastily set the cups on the nightstand, hurrying into the bathroom to get some tissues, grabbing two hoodies on the way to the bed. He new for a fact that his clothes always made them feel better.
“Don’t cry. I hate it when you cry. What happened?” Leo’s voice was incredibly soft and caring.
Logan wiggled a bit in Finn’s arms to look at him.
“Leo, why are you still with us?”
“Because I love you,” there was no hesitation in his voice.
“But-“ Logan’s voice broke a bit, “We can’t give you something like Cap and Loops have just yet, Finn and I aren’t ready and you do so much for us Knutty. God, we would be so lost without you and we give back so little.”
Logan looked at Leo with such a confused look in his eyes, it broke Leo’s heart. Couldn’t they see it? He grabbed both of their hands, carefully intertwining their fingers.
“And that’s us, that’s how we work and it’s all I need. I’m not ready yet either, but the team knows, we know and that’s perfect. Look, you give me more than you think you do. Maybe you don’t put your clothes back where they belong and maybe you don’t like to vacuum, but who cares about things like that? You two give me everything. You give me love, understanding, acceptance, you give me a reason to wake up in the morning and isn’t that what’s most important?”
All Logan and Finn could do was to gape and Leo chuckled a bit.
“Peanut, how are you the youngest again? Screw college, what did we go to Harvard for?” Finn said, wiping his face with his sleeve.
Logan wasn’t even listening, instead, he lurched forward and gave Leo the kiss of his lifetime. He moved his lips carefully and with so much love, Leo was very close to combusting at the feeling.
“I love my life.”
Leo and Logan parted, laughing slightly.
“What about you Fish? What can I do for you?” Leo asked while taking Finn’s hand in his again.
“I could just use a hug.”
And that was something Leo definitely could provide.

good intentions.
kuroo x reader
your long-term boyfriend is perfect. i mean perfect. he excels at basically everything he does. well, except one thing. at least he has good intentions, right?
based off of a request found here.
word count:
tags/tw: y/n & kuroo are uni students, lots of playful insulting, kuroo is perfect, well not really, y/n is a mess, y/n is me doing any kind of work, domestic x1000, kuroo cooking is so cute.
You know those people who just seem to have it all?
No, not literally, but it’s so sickeningly easy for them that they might as well be arms reach of anything they want.
Usually we tend to dislike people like that, mainly because... well, we’re not them (much to our abysmal dismay, too). They end up taking a spotlight of jealousy in our lives and we find ourselves constantly thinking: Man, i’d love to kick their asses, but would alternatively jump at the oppertunity to switch lives with them ‘Freaky Friday’ style.
These people are the embodiment of admiration.
Young. Good looking. Fit. Successful. Socially conscious. Killer smiles. Can always hold a drink. Never seem to embarrass themselves even a little, but on the off chance they do, everyone adores them more and sees it as a cute little incident or quirk of theirs.
Just thinking about it makes you want to build yourself a bunker, deep underground, just to sulk in for a decade or so, lamenting angrily at the dusty walls.
Yes. You know the truth is that there will always be someone better than you at simply existing, but that doesn’t stop that simmering of content from rising within. Realistically speaking, you’d avoid these people like your life depended on it because they’re so... detestable.
So who would have known that you —of all people— would end up falling in love with one?
Well, you did. As much as they repel you, you find that they weirdly attract you too.
That’s right.
The man who stole that pretty little heart of yours, who’d caught your attention indefinitely with his cut-throat prowess and charisma. He’d approached you one fine evening at some bar you’d never been to before, ordered you your favorite drink because he’d seen you order it twofold previously (vodka cranberry, heavy on the juice) and chatted you up the way you’d always wished a guy would.
The appalling epitome of cliche.
The whole encounter practically ran like he’d planned it before-hand. It’s almost infuriating, how easily he swept you off of those tipsy feet of yours.
Something bumps lightly over your head as a shadowy figure passes by. You groan lightly in response.
“Hey, cut it out!”
Somehow, you’ve found yourself on the floor, crossed-legged, pen in your mouth and both your hands. One is furiously scrawling something down, the other flicking the cap off to highlight. It’s an understatement to note that you look like a bit of a mess, brows scruched up in an untidy pile in the middle of your forehead, dead-focused on the first draft of your thesis that was due weeks ago.
Yeah, you were one of those people.
A mocking string of apologetic noises come from the figure in front of you as he chucks his keys onto the kitchen counter.
Kuroo Tetsurou. That’s your A-list Boyfriend.
A-list of what? Of life, for god’s sake.
If it were him that’d been assigned a task with this ridiculous deadline, he’d probably have handed it before it was fucking given to him in the first place! Not only is he academically adept to the point of pure indignancy (on your part, of course, you’re too prone to jealousy for your own good), but his organisation is nothing short of freakishly unnatural.
He says he’s minimalistic, you say he’s an alien.
If someone had told you that the man you loved was actually some kind of secret government- made equipment to survey you, you wouldn’t bat an eyelid. He’s that good.
He chuckles at his own jeers, slipping a hand through the fridge handle. It unlatches with ease and he takes a cold can of beer out, pulling the tab back and allowing it to hiss open satisfyingly. Your eyes flicker upwards, gnawing at your knuckle, you’re not only stressed out, but unbelievably embarrassed that you’re at it again. He’s seen you like this countless times, after promising to clean up your act and follow in his footsteps.
Following in his footsteps. Well, that’s how he described it. You were close to socking his arm.
“Shut up.”
Tetsurou tilts his head back, drinking to his heart’s content before catching your eye. You’re correct. He has seen this before, so he knows not to take your off-handed comments to heart. Instead, he’s rather bemused.
“Your scruched up nose.” He begins, setting the can down to the side, crossing one leg over the other. “That’s your classic concentrating face.”
You’re not even listening if you’re honest. You’re trying to understand what this section of the task even means after re-reading it for the fifteeth time. The responses you give are made absently.
“Hm.”
“You look like a cat that’s been forced to wait to eat. That little glare. It’s cute, kitty.”
Your head jerks up questioningly. Did he call you cute?
His head tilts.
“Oh, you’ve relaxed your face now. It’s gone back to being ugly.”
You scowl and throw the highlighting pen at him.
“Go away! I’m almost done!”
Your fingers move to your lower back, pressing on your spine in hopes it’ll crack and relieve some of the tension in your body. Kuroo retrieves the pen, sweeping the can up with his spare hand. He plods over, craning his neck down to study whatever it is that you have on your lap.
“It’s too dark in here to see that properly.”
“I’m fine!”
“Well—“ He leans back to switch the overhead lights on. “—now you’re finer.”
You turn to him, pausing for a moment.
“Oh, thanks.”
It’s like you fall into this crazed state when you’re overworked. Frantic. Snappy. Cowering in the dark like some sort of parody Dracula— that is, if Dracula were three weeks late on his university assignment worth a disgustingly high percentage of his final grading. If Kuroo came too close, or said something a little too sly, you’d probably bite him. He knows this too, opting to keep quiet from now on. Instead, he sits leisurely on the floor, just behind you, placing his hands against your propped up body and gently pressing his thumbs into the blades of your back.
“Drop it a sec, yeah?”
Your body’s stiff, but you can tell he’s shocked at just how stiff it is. For a moment, you’re caught off guard, before rolling your shoulders back forcefully.
“Can’t... gotta finish—“ and you gesture wildly at everything around you. That answer was to be expected. You weren’t as academically driven, sure, but you weren’t one to give in easily. Or fail, for that matter.
Tetsurou plants a gentle kiss onto the nape of your neck, mumbling into the ridge of your spine.
“That—“ he copies your movements. “Can wait. I know you think it can’t, but it can. And you’re going to stop now.”
Your eyes lower a little, vision blurring.
“But—“
“Nope.”
You twist yourself to look at him, giving him another sour look.
“I’m serious!”
“So am I.” It rolls off the tongue so easily for him. He’s utterly calm. But then again, he’s not the one that needs to be on bloody ‘X-Games’ mode.
He’s never the one. Damn it.
You lift yourself up a little by placing your palms under you, wincing at the twinges of pain it induces. You’d made friends with the floor for a little too long, butt totally numb.
“Fine.” You resign, suddenly falling back onto him. “I’ll email my professor for the tenth time this week and wait as he rips me apart. Shall I?” Kuroo tuts, snaking an arm around your upper-body, the other brushing at your baby-hairs so he’s able to see your face a little clearer.
“He wouldn’t do that.”
“Uh— yes he would. Would you like front row seats to my untimely demise?”
“You’re so dramatic.”
For the first time through that entire day, you smile, even if it’s just a little. And to him, he’s managed to fish you out of that downward spiral you’ve been plunging into. Job well done on his part. He softly runs a his palm down your side.
“Your professor covers mine when she’s busy.” He states matter-of-factly. “Let me email him. It’s not ludicrous to say that i’m your boyfriend and you’re a little troubled at the moment.”
You’re slumped over, at the moment, chin buried into your chest.
“Troubled sounds like i’ve lost my mind.”
“Well not like that—“ The eager boy begins sifting out your laptop from under the seemingly endless piles of paper. “Let’s think of a better excuse.” Your body doesn’t move an inch, fiddling with the cap of the pen lid. You throw it by accident and it bounces too far to reach comfortably. Shit.
“Mmm.” He buries his nose into the crown of your head. “Shall I tell him you got into a car accident?”
“What? Tetsu, that’s stupidly unbelievable. I don’t even drive.”
“I guess... maybe not a car.” His fingers teasingly splay over your stomach, body bent intrusively over yours. They move against the softness of your flesh, dipping down slightly.
You suck in a breath.
“I’m sure I can do something for you that’ll keep you from walking for quite some time.” Tetsurou hums deeply, and it feels like he’s talking directly into your brain.
Your fingers fumble for the pen he just gave back, before hitting him square on the forehead with it. It ricochets back perfectly onto your chest with a loud snap.
“Ow!”
“You’re an idiot.”
“Geez.”
“I don’t need excuses. I’ll just come back to it later.”
“Oh— yeah. That too.”
With a heave, you sit up, rubbing the side of your head as the blood rushes back.
“I’m kinda hungry.” You’d been so distracted with this work that even simple, human needs took a backseat.
This is why Kuroo doesn’t like it. At times like this, you’d barely eat, sleep, breathe. Seriously. Sometimes you’d hold your breath for absurdly long periods of time whilst reading, only to hack and gasp and apologise because you were so into it.
That’s... extreme. And he does not approve in the slightest.
“Yeah?”
“Mhm...” Your eyes sparkle hopefully. “Did you get me something to eat?”
Tetsurou scratches his neck timidly.
“Well, not exactly.”
Immediately, your face drops and he protests wildly.
“Don’t look at me like that!”
Well— well— you couldn’t help but be disappointed! You were starving and tired and ready to email your professor a string of rather unpleasant curse words instead of another half-assed excuse. Your fingernails had been worn down considerably from all the abrasive biting you’d done, aching and red.
Being a full-time student was covert self-destruction. You heavily relied on your boyfriend to bring in food because you didn’t have the time to do so yourself. This had been discussed and agreed upon prior though, since along with Tetsu’s many formidable talents, a balanced work to school life was yet another.
He ambles back to the kitchen area, gesturing to the island smack bang in the middle.
“That doesn’t mean I came empty-handed.”
Oh. You hadn’t noticed it before, but he’d come home with groceries. Um. Groceries?
“What’s that?”
“Stuff I picked up on the way back.”
“Like, ingredients?”
“Yeah, I guess you could say that.”
The both of you are quiet for a moment, and you’re eyeing the bag like it’s appeared out of nowhere with something potentially life-threatening inside it. Yes, that sounds stupid. But the truth is... you guys never really got groceries. Not actual groceries with actual ingredients. Because that is a strong indicator that they’d have to be cooked.
And god, neither of you knew how to do that.
You’re a student who’s barely stepped into adulthood, not Gordan Ramsay.
Okay. You sound ridiculous. Cooking isn’t that complex. It’s actually quite simple if your heart’s in it.
“I figured i’d be able to do something with these.” Kuroo pats the bags and they crinkle a tad.
Of fucking course he’d ‘be able to do something’ with them.
He’s Kuroo-Genius-Tetsurou!
CEO of doing things with other things and it actually working out. Building cabinates, lock-picking, gardening, guitar, skateboarding, poker. Since you’ve been together, these are a few of the varation of things he’s naturally picked up.
You? You’re a more do-it-once-it-fails-and-never-do-it-again type.
In your mind there’s literally no doubt he’d ace cooking and list it under the other fifty(billion) things he’s also capable of, just so he can mention it off-handedly to other people at parties or something.
If there’s something to criticise about your boyfriend, he’s awful at shutting up about himself. He’ll go on forever, as if he’s showcasing his entire life to strangers in some desperate attempt to sell them his excessive excellence.
Is he arrogant? Maybe. But is he able to do it in a manner that’s utterly bewitching? Absolutely. He’s not gloating, you see, he’s ‘modestly sharing’. And you find yourself wanting to praise him, you want to hear about how much better he is than you.
Let’s be honest. Kuroo and modesty were not made to be placed in the same sentence, any humble talk of his is utter bullshit.
But everyone loves it all the same.
That’s what you mean about perfect people. They spark something in others. It’s almost hypnotic. And when you snap out of it, it’s like it’s been confirmed that you’re undoubtedly inferior. Post-Kuroo-Encounter depression. PKE. You having a devastating case of it.
Maybe you have a bit of a complex about this. Ugh.
He’s lucky he’s so damn loveable.
And that you’re so damn hungry.
“Okay.” You state.
Plus, you are a little curious to see what exactly will unfold with his newfound persuit in the culinary arts.
You haul ass to get up, audibly cursing, hopping around from foot to foot to get your blood-flow back in action. Eventually, you’ve nestled yourself onto a stool, hands propping your chin up, observing expectantly.
“What are you making, chef?”
“Uhh..” He’s rolling his sleeves up, eyes glued to the screen of his phone that’s placed facing upwards. “Chicken Alfredo.” Tetsu sounds a little uncertain but you’re staring into his head and you can almost hear the cogs turning. Really, it’s only a matter of time until the bastard works his Area 51-esque magic and concocts the dish.
He takes a little more time to familiarise himself with the recipe, before looking up, giving you a wicked grin.
“I’ve got this.”
You’re sure he does, smiling back.
Whilst he’s preparing god knows what, you peek into the grocery bag to see if there’s anything you can nibble on. You recieve another gentle smack to your head. Tetsu’s holding a packet of dry pasta.
He’s hit you with pasta.
“Nu-uh. I didn’t bring any kitty treats for you, be patient.”
“Stop hitting me like i’m a fly, or a cat!”
“Don’t be silly. I’d never hit a cat! They’re precious, adorable, i’d protect one with my life. And you—“ He hits you again. “—well, you’re you, baby.”
You snatch the packet forcefully and lob it at him again.
“You have a death wish, Kuroo-san.”
“Eesh. The formalities! I’m kidding!”
You cradle your cheek in your palm, sighing tiredly. The two of you usually ordered in, or got something you’d be able to set up pretty easily. Neither of you were particularly passionate about cooking, hence its absence in your routines. Yes, it’s excessively healthier than your current lifestyle, but you weren’t suffering. And even now, watching Tetsurou fill a pan with water, muscles firm against the shy of his shirt. You know he isn’t either.
Now that you’re looking, and looking some more, it’s pretty hot, seeing a guy cook.
“You know, you should make breakfast shirtless so I can tell my friends my hot boyfriend cooks me breakfast shirtless.”
He laughs.
“You’d enjoy that too much.”
“Is that a bad thing?”
“Yes. I can’t keep indulging you.”
He means that your desire for immediate gratification is your biggest weak-point. Kuroo’s recently been trying to teach you the art of patience. Abstinence. You don’t get it. Apparently perfect people believe in ‘self-control’ crap.
“Also, oil.” He adds.
“Oh, I suppose it’d hurt, right?”
“Mhm.”
Your boyfriend alternates from his phone to the actual practice in short cycles. To you, he looks like he’s on track, though you’re not quite sure what to be looking for in the first place. These things usually came ready and steaming on plates in restaurants. Even now, having to wait, it’s so difficult. But you’re enjoying the light conversation it brings, so it’s whatever.
Though, that lasting etch of confusion and concern on the boy’s face leaves you wondering if actually, this is proving slightly difficult for him.
“Is everything okay?” You pipe up.
He doesn’t answer at first.
“Think so.”
“Oh— i’ve never heard that from you before.” It’s usually straight confidence from this man.
“Shut up.”
From the stool, you slip, dragging your hand over the counter as you walk around to see it up close. You don’t really know what you’re expecting, but... it’s not this.
“Tetsu, that’s boiling a little violently, don’t you think?”
“...No?”
“Yeah. It is. That’s not a good sign.”
He bats you away.
“We can’t both stand here!”
“Why not?”
“Spaaace.” He whines. “And if we both stay crowded around it’ll—“
And it happens, exactly what you’d predicted.
You, of all people, had made an assumption your boyfriend hadn’t. Ain’t that crazy? The water rises up too high, boiling over and spilling absolutely everywhere. The gas flame heightens all of a sudden, curling up next to the fabric of a dish towel next to it. In a panic, you pull him back.
“What the fuck—“
There’s no time for you to think, your hands fumbling to close the stove, you hadn’t realised the water had seeped over it, causing you to cry out in pain in the process, hand burnt silly.
But you do it. Quickly too. And Kuroo’s utterly dazed, like he hadn’t even thought to react. Your immediate response post-injury is to suck on the wound, trying to suppress the pain with the soothing movements of your tongue. That doesn’t do much, so you flap it about like a mad man, that only instigates more irritation.
Tetsu snaps out of it when he hears your hissing, grabbing onto your wrist and pulling you to the sink forcefully, apologising profusely as he does.
Cold water hits you. It’s instant relief.
“God— i’m so sorry, (y/n)—“ He stumbles, still panicking, he seems to be experiencing everything five minutes too late. “I don’t know why that happened, I swear to God i’ve done that before but it just—“
You let out a giggle, and it shuts him up.
Another one slips. It gets louder and louder, harder to suppress until you’re full on belly laughing, hunched over. He stares at you, wordlessly surprised.
“T-Tetsu— you burnt water—“ You try and stifle your laugh but it only shakes your body more. His deep shame morphs into relief when he sees you’re okay. Tearfully making fun of him, but okay. He pulls you into a tight embrace, ignoring your remarks and still feeling unbelievably guilty.
It’s okay. You’re still chortling, holding him just as tight.
“Here, let me— let me bandage this.” In a cupboard somewhere, he pulls out a small wrap of fabric, proceeding to do just that. You watch happily enough, before turning to the boiled water that had completely stilled.
“Thanks. Let me do this.”
With considerable time and effort, you’re able to clean up the haphazard mess and start afresh, filling his place. Yeah, Kuroo is pretty humiliated, but he was more concerned about your wellbeing at the time than anything else. Seeing you unwavered was enough to make him feel like things were good.
It’s a miracle really, that you do end up filling two plates with delicious smelling pasta.
That lingering look of sorrow is still plastered all over the poor boy’s features, watching you with wide eyes.
“How did you manage that?”
You just shrug, licking a smidge of sauce off of your thumb.
“Dunno. Guess I have potential.” Your gaze moves up to his, pinching his cheek and blubbering jokingly. “Baby. What’s with the long face?”
“Feel bad.” Tetsu looks so glum. It’s adorable.
“Hm.”
The scrape of the plate against the counter is clear as bells as you urge him to eat.
“I should thank you, dumbass.” Admiring the bandage work, a grin settls upon you. This ordeal helps you to see that, actually, Tetsu wasn’t good at everything. In fact, for once, you were better.
And God. That’s— that’s different. You don’t want to be as cocky as him, but it feels nice for a change. He admires you.
“Got an excuse for that late assignment now.” You muse.
“Oh my god.”
You’re always going to be a handful.
“Ugh. Tetsu. Something good always come out of your actions. It’s sickening!”
“I hurt you, silly!”
“I’m feelin’ pretty good about it, regardless. Plus—“ You jump up, leaning over the counter to flick his forehead. “—i’m going to tell everybody this pretty little golden boy set our kitchen on fire because he tried to boil water.”
“Cruel. You’re cruel.”
“The cruelest.”

Shakarian Fae AU!
What if turians were magical fair-folk and the krogan fearsome elementals? What if Garrus encountered a wounded Commander Shepard in his enchanted forest?
The turians were a race with many names: fae, seelie, forest spirit. They inhabited the plane known as Palaven, between the mortal world--the one where humans, asari, salarians and the other races dwelt--and the enchanted realm of the elementals, or krogan.
While little was known about them or their fabled Hierarchy Court, what was known was that they appeared as tall, naturally armored beings, with talons and claws and mandibles flanking maws filled with dagger-like teeth. They appeared dangerous because they were; as all the magical races were compared to mortals. Entering one of their red capped mushroom rings was flirting with catastrophe.
You didn’t step inside a fairy ring, you didn’t sing near a woodland stream, you didn’t summon turians if you could avoid it. Everyone knew that--Shepard knew that. Had known since she was old enough to understand the tales of the turian-krogan war.
Shepard panted, a hand coming to smear the trickle of blood coming from her nose across her cheek. Her head felt like it was stuffed with wool and her left arm, the broken one, hung uselessly at her side. Damn those batarian bandits! She’d lost her sword and even her knife, forced to flee into the thick tangle of trees and bushes. She swore she’d been pursued. The sound of cracking branches and heavy footfalls had chased her like a sinister echo until suddenly, suspiciously, all sound died.
Shepard whirled around, taking in the heavy greenery that cast the forest into permanent shadow. The birds had gone silent and not even a cricket chirped. The only noise was her ragged breathing and harried heartbeat. Sunlight filtered through the dense canopy in pinpricks, drops of gold flecking her crimson hair and filthy armor.
She tried to steady her breathing, ignoring the sensation of the fine hairs lifting off the nape of her neck. A quiet woodland was a full one--full of what, she didn’t know. I won’t go down without a fight, Shepard vowed, clenching her good hand into a fist.
She backed away from the direction she’d come, deeper into the small clearing she’d entered. She heard a soft squelching sound and registered she’d stepped on something soft and slimy. Risking a glance down, Shepard saw the pulpy remains of a mushroom squashed beneath her boot. She took another few steps backward, senses still on high alert.
The perforated gloom of the wood seemed to inhale a deep breath, before arrows of light fell down on her in a rain of smelted gold. Her vision went white and her broken arm throbbed. Shepard fell to her knees. As she took in the damp grass and moldering leaves, she noticed the ring of mushrooms that surrounded her. A perfect ring. In a deep forest, far from settlement.
When she chanced to look up, the light had returned to normal. The forest resounded with the chirps of robins and finches, the buzz and hum of cicadas and mayflies and rustle of leaves. It was perfectly normal. Except he hadn’t been there before.
Tall with a crown of horns fanned out behind his head, the turian had brilliant blue eyes and cobalt paint--or maybe tattoos?--in a bold geometric pattern across his small, segmented nose and maxilla. He was dressed in a form fitted suit that looked like it was made from iridescent fish scales. The spade shaped material caught the light, scintillating in lilacs, yellows, greens and the color of sea foam.
“That looks painful,” the brilliant personage said, gesturing a three-fingered hand toward Shepard’s broken arm. His voice was warm amber honey.
“You’re a turian,” Shepard managed, forcing herself to stand. She cast a frantic look around her. The forest seemed the same, but somehow felt--younger. Wilder. The trunks of oaks were immense, bark flaky and untouched by mortal hands. It was noisier with more woodland creatures pitching their croaks and calls to the chorus. “Where am I?” she demanded, rounding back on the turian in front of her. “Where did you take me?”
“Somewhere that the batarians can’t follow,” he replied in an infuriatingly calm tone. “Somewhere where I can treat your injuries.”
“Treat my injuries?” She stared at him incredulously. “Turians don’t help us mortals--at least not without strings attached.”
“I’ve never been a very good turian.” The forest spirit stepped closer, a mandible flicking out in what might have been a smirk. “Look, I don’t like batarians cutting through my forest and hacking at the verge. I...eliminated the ones pursuing you and brought you to Palaven. I’d like to help you with your arm, Ms…” he trailed off looking to her expectantly.
Of all the warnings concerning turians, the one Shepard had always remembered was that names carried power with the fae. Give them your name and you gave them power over you. “You first,” Shepard said, narrowing her eyes.
The turian chuckled. “Garrus Vakarian. A member of the Palaveni Guard.” He dipped his head as he spoke. Then, flicking his mandibles down and out, he made a strange whistling sound. The treetops exploded as though caught in a hurricane and Shepard shielded her eyes against the wind. The unmistakable sound of wing beats filled her ears and she gasped as two colossal dragonflies with charcoal black wings landed in the clearing. “And these are Widow and Mantis if you wanted to know,” Garrus said.
He offered Shepard his hand, light playing along the scales of his tunic and the natural silver plating of his wrist. She stared at the appendage, unsure what to do. If Garrus wanted her dead he could have left her to the batarians. She couldn’t stay where she was--injured, alone, and acutely mortal.
“Please,” Garrus said, drawing her attention back to his face. “I’m not trying to trick you. You won’t owe me some favor for helping you. I want to help you, odd as that might sound.”
Shepard’s arm twinged in pain, reminding her of how bad the break must be. She sucked in a breath through her teeth. “Okay,” she said, placing her hand in Garrus’s larger one.
He led her towards one of the dragonflies. She could see a saddle was affixed around the segmented torso. He offered to help her but she shook her head, gritting her teeth against the pain in her arm as she hauled herself astride the massive insect. “Where are we going?” she asked Garrus as he climbed into the saddle of his own mount.
“Hierarchy Court,” he replied.
Then, the dragonflies beat their wings and the world became a gossamer blur as they lifted into the air, above the magical forest and toward whatever mystery and adventure awaited her in the Hierarchy Court.

✧ Bang Chan ⇢ STAY Island ✧
Passport Title ⇢ Crisp Ringleader
Okay family
As our ENFJ king Chan would totally have a island that revolved around the others
Sure he’d have his own space too
But he’d def be one to put up lots of fun camping space and interactive inventions
A cute little barbecue grill on the beach with a wooden table and log benches 🥺🥺 and a picnic area too
I feel like he’d also go out of his way to breed black roses but that may just be me 😂🤷🏻♀️
Black and white flowers everywhere, and maybe some red roses too?
He’d also be a generous donator and frequently visit the others to see if anyone needed help with anything
Just stopping by to check in and drop off some hardwood, or iron, maybe even gold
...That’s a big maybe on the gold cause we all know that stuff ain’t common and if you want Marshal on your island you better have some handy
In addition to this, I think that the generosity would only go so far and he’d be quite the tease too
Running around left and right ratting the others out during pranks and “borrowing” things from the others
“where’d my recipe for gold armor go???”
🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ “idk bro I think I saw Minho running off with it?”
For villagers, he’d have a plethora of the animal kingdom on his island
Anyone is welcome
You get what you get and you don’t throw a fit 🥴
He’d def have mentions of Stay on his island too
And the guys, his squad
A Stay flag and Stray Kids written in the sand somewhere
Maybe vice versa
His character would likely be of similar resemblance but I can totally see him playing with the fun hair colors and face paint
His wardrobe would consist of similar attire too: black, white, caps, hoodies, and chains
Y’all AC fans know that one punk outfit with the chains across the bodice? He’d own that
His home is a toss up: on one hand it could be very chill and cozy, but on another I’m seeing workout gear in one corner and iron tables and a TV and radio going, maybe (definitely) a music studio setup (similar to Weber’s home but more hardcore LMAO)
All in all, I think Chan would be a chill/causal player that would be happy to help his friends and community while also playing hard ball once in a while just to mess with everyone 😂♥️

✧ Lee Minho ⇢ Soodori Island ✧
Passport Title ⇢ Total Genius
Soodori is a combination of Minho’s cats
Your boy Minho couldn’t resist the ingenious idea
He’d pondered for the longest time which of his precious babies was going to be awarded the title of his island; an impossible decision
Then along comes our creative leader, “why don’t you just use all three?”
‼️‼️‼️
Genius!1!1!!1!1 😩✨
On Soodori, you bet all the villagers are cats; if you don’t have pointy ears and a swishing tail, Access Denied 🙅🏻♀️
This means you, Han
Villagers included would consist of Raymond, who may or may not be an island celebrity
And let’s not forget Queen Ankha
But to Minho, all his cat citizens are equally loved and cherished as a valid part of the community
His whole aesthetic would be cats too
That includes a cat cafe
His flag would probably be a paw print 🐾 or his cat’s names, maybe a cute scribbling of their faces
And if you disrespected that, there’d be blood to pay
I can see his character closely resembling him as well, with a little paw print on his cheek? Maybe some whiskers?
He’d thoroughly enjoy visiting the others islands “if he absolutely had to”
Swipe some goods
And bundle them up to go on the plane out ✈️
For the most part, I see him being more of a hermit on his island that only heads out On Demand
Even then, it’s kind of a toss up: good luck getting him to leave his children behind
If you’re nice to him, he MIGHT let you come and view the splendor...m a y b e
But you better not touch or take anything 🗿🔥
Shoot, when it came to special visitors, like Redd or K.K., he’d probably try chasing them off
Put those tools to use
There’s more than one way to skin a cat
(Don’t tell him I said that tho 👀💧)

✧ Seo Changbin ⇢ DARK Island ✧
Passport Title ⇢ Music-Loving Loner
Dark, dark, dark
We all done knew, didn’t we?
Changbin is the KING of darkness
So it goes without saying that his whole island would radiate the stuff, too
It may seem depressing and a little emo at first, but eventually the concept comes off being pretty cool
...In an angsty, Evanescence sort of way
He’d probably be very lost on how to play at first...at first
He’s got Felix and Chan to help him tho, so he’d be breeding black flowers before you know it
Maybe a little gray and navy blue tones to break up the solidarity somewhere
I’m seeing a kind of night sky aesthetic, maybe some astrology furniture???
Look out, Celeste
She’s gonna be running to Big Brother Blathers saying some scary short guy is following her around the woods
Poor Binnie just wants a Starry Sky wall...until he sees how bright it actually is
Then it’s 💯 a fat pass
Binnie would kindly welcome all sorts of villagers while being minorly selective
After all, we can’t break the darkness with some cheery-idol-wannabe villager, or some Judy the anime bear
I can say with utmost certainty at 95% that his whole wardrobe would be black caps and hoodies
Maybe a plain black tee
Some black pants
And
White or black sneakers 🥴✨
I think he would be pretty intent on building up his island...in particular, collecting all the artifacts and critters for the museum
He’d work hard but not go crazy or stress about it and still take lots of time to just chill in his deep dark vibes
Maybe get out once in a while to visit Felix and learn a thing or two
Overall, we see through your front, Bin; you may have a dark vibe but you’re really just a small big softie ️

This boy may have some vibing days and go at his own pace
But don’t be fooled: he plays to win
Plant those money trees
Enter those QR codes
Carve out those pathways
Where is Blathers we have a donation 😤😤
Hyunjin would be a steady-paced worker bee 🐝
He’d likely be selective of his villagers and go for cute ones
Possibly top to secondary tier
When it came to games and get togethers, you’d likely find him chasing another member with a net or an axe, in most cases Jisung
“qUiT LEaViNG TrASh oN mY iSLaNd!!1!1!1!” 💢
“DROP THAT DIY!1!1!1!!1”
Let’s see
His whole island aesthetic would be cute and peaceful:

White and wooden furniture in and around the home
An adorable tea and snack time plaza too! And a library!!! 📖✨

Ohhh boy
I bet y’all were waiting patiently for this one
Or maybe you jumped right to it
Either way here we go:
Han Jisung would be the king of the trash heap
And by that I mean this guy would save up all his bells and buy himself a crown 👑 where he’d sit atop a throne of garbage
BECAUSE THERE WOULD BE TRASH EVERYWHERE SIS 😩😩
This guy would be yeeting furniture and garbage all over the place
...Okay maybe that was a bit overdramatic
Maybe not EVERYWHERE...
......
...It’d be pretty messy tho
He’d probs have traps set up too
You step off the plane and get catapulted into the ocean, if that were a thing
You’d have to navigate and hop around discarded junk for sure
He’d have clothes here, a fan there, a...urinal...on the beach???
.........o k a y ._.💧
Han Jisung wouldn’t be all that competitive when it came to gathering every fruit or collecting all the fish
He doesn’t have the patience for that
He needs to run around and be free, letting his mind wander while wrecking havoc for everyone else; which is also Minnie’s job but we’ll get to that later
For villagers, he’d have at least one squirrel or two (Marshal?! :D) but I’m not so sure it’d really matter...all that much?
I’m not sure he’d even want many villagers at all
He’d be spending most of his time crashing other member’s islands and leaving little surprises like a useless DIY they already have or a fake painting he got roped into buying bc he was too lazy to check if it was genuine =_=
Everyone got sick of it pretty quickly but no one like Minho or Hyunjin; he’s permanently banned from those two locations and Jeongin’s considering adding him to the list next
Despite there being so much junk, his house would have an almost decent vibe: lots of instruments and fun gear, along with some random clothes, a lava lamp, and...another urinal 🗿💧

After that Seungmin closed him into a corner as punishment and wouldn’t let him out until he dropped the Apple
But Jisung was feeling pretty prideful that day so he ate it instead 🗿💧
Anyway
This guy would def make a character that looks just like him!
Would he try new hair colors and face paint? ...Maybe
It seems like a sorta-Seungmin thing to do
Seungmin would wanna be the best of the best while still staying true to himself, so you’ll likely see tier one and two villagers that he particularly fancies
Fancy you, fancy me 🥳✨💃🏻🎶
He’d also be one to go around admiring the chaos from the background while occasionally becoming the chaos
Kinda like the Cheshire Cat 😅
When challenging the others to an art contest (who could buy the most expensive artifact from Redd without using the internet) he switched some of the other members paintings while they were distracted by a meteor shower
“Look, a shooting star! And another one!”
“Make a wish.”
“How do I do that?!”
“Tilt your camera towards the sky and press A.”
“I’ve got my camera app open and it’s just taking photos???”
“Not you CAMERA camera—“
“Hey! Chan hyung, Minho just stole my star!!!”
“I didn’t see your NAME on it...”
“Don’t fight, you can each have half!”
“That’s not how it works at all...”
...Anyway
It was pretty comical until Changbin had to say something, about the art that is
Then Minnie had to bounce before the angry shovels and nets caught up to him
“Hey!!! Why is my painting on Minho’s side???”
“Why is everyone attacking me???”
“Oh, Hyunjin has my painting...”
“I do not! ...Oh hey I do? Why’d you put it over here?”
“I DIDN’T!”
👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
...
🛫 🏃🏻♀️💨
Poor Minnie just wanted to have some fun amongst the confusion 😔
But
When it gets right down to it, you better believe this boy would be an aesthetic and skillful player ✨

Initially, Jeongin was prepared for what he senior members would do
He knew there would be much anticipation to visit the 막내’s island and drive him crazy
Sometimes, he doesn’t mind it
But others he just wants to be left alone and do his own thing
When he started the game, it was one of those days
So he wanted to make the message clear 😤😤
Also, Don’t Bother Me seemed to be too long 🤷🏻♀️
Go Away was straight to the point ;D
Anyhoo
On Go Away, you’ll encounter lots of cute characters 💓
Innie has a very cute and true-to-himself aesthetic
He doesn’t understand much of the mechanics but he’s working on it okay?
And he’s getting better every day!
Okay, so like, sometimes he’ll allow Chan to come over and help
Or Felix or maybe Seungmin if he promises to be genuine and behave
But like
The rest of the members are semi-banned
Hyunjin gets a pass if he whines enough
Or he’ll come up with a crafty excuse to come over
“Innie, look! I got peaches on my island! Don’t you want one? They’re cute like you! 😩❣️”
...He could do without that last embarrassing remark but okay sure
He really did want those peaches for his picnic garden 😔✊🏻
In terms of hair color? We’re on a rotation like Felix
We’re trying lots of hair colors
And a few aesthetic designs, too!

when we all fall asleep - rosycheeked (@lovelyisthedawn) Tony wakes up and questions why Steve loves him. It's a surprisingly complex question for such a simple answer.
you anchor me (back down) - rosycheeked (@lovelyisthedawn) Steve still loves Tony, no matter what mask he’s wearing. He’ll never tell Tony that, though. He’s read enough books and watched enough movies to know that it only ends well when it’s just a story. Or, everyone needs an anchor sometimes, and Steve and Tony just happen to be each others’.

Beyond a Reasonable Doubt
Summary: Detective Killian Jones took an indefinite leave of absence from SBPD after his brother was murdered in the Line of Duty. Bitter and broken, he resides in a cabin on the beach when his brother's former partner, David Nolan brings him a case he knows the vengeful detective won’t be able to resist. A case involving Liam's killer.
Dr. Emma Swan makes all of her decisions like she operates on her patients—with care, competence and compassion. But when her colleague, Graham Humbert, is murdered in cold blood by the man who was freed because of a decision she made as a juror, she starts second-guessing herself. To make matters worse, her squeaky clean reputation is being questioned when she becomes a suspect for Graham’s murder.
There is one detective who believes she’s innocent, and he has a plan to protect Emma and find his brother's killer at the same time. When Killian finds himself caught between his duties to the SBPD and his need for vengeance, matters are only complicated by the feelings he develops for the woman he's supposed to protect.
He's impulsive and hot-tempered, and she's methodical and cool under pressure. Despite their differences, can they work together to bring the murderer to justice, or will the murderer get to them first?
A/N: Many thanks go to @ultraluckycatnd for her wonderful beta-ing skills and @onceuponaprincessworld as always for her encouragement and letting me bounce ideas off of her.
So a few things before we get started with this chapter.
You've probably noticed, I made Emma older than she is usually portrayed in fanfics since being chief of surgery requires an extensive medical background, education, training, experience, etc. Basically this is how old she would be ten years later from the OUAT pilot. With that said, I've made the other main and supporting characters older as well. Emma and David are 38-39, and Killian, Elsa, Anna and MM are 32-35. Just wanted to clarify that to avoid confusion, though I do mention some of their ages in the story. I'm doing my best to keep the timeline consistent but if anything doesn't make sense with the timeline, or in general, please don't hesitate to ask me about it either on here or Tumblr.
Secondly, I know some of you, or maybe all of you are hoping Emma will contact the police about Neal, but keep in mind, Emma's a suspect and yes, contacting the police would be in her best interest, but Emma's going to be paranoid about every move she makes because she overanalyzes and thinks everything through. And any move that could potentially bring more attention to herself regarding graham's murder could effect her career she has worked so hard to obtain. So please keep these things in mind before you get too upset with her.
Also, this chapter is in Killian's pov, so we will see the video footage of Emma's interview. To avoid a bunch of repetition this chapter shows different points of the interview so that's why different questions are shown in this one, except for a few that I included in both chapters..
You will find that Killian has to iron out some wrinkles in his relationships with David and Elsa, so this chapter and the next will include some angst, but I think all of you lovelies are going to like what I have planned for chapter 5, so please bear with me until then :)
Okay enough of my rambling and on with the story. Thanks for reading!
Rated: Explicit due to mature language, character death, violence, murder and smut. The scenes won’t be too graphic, but I’d rather overrate than underrate it.

Chapter 3
“Uncle Killian!”
With a big smile on his face, Killian watches his nephews charging toward him. He sets down his tackle box and fishing pole and wipes the sweat off his brow as he steps off the dock. “Oof,” he feigns a pained noise with a chuckle as Leo tackles him. Killian picks him up, drawing him into an enormous bear hug, noticing his nephew is heavier than the last time Killian picked him up. “You’re growing too fast. Soon you'll be taller than me.”
“Nah-ah,” Leo laughs, shaking his head.
“Uncle Ki-wi!” Liam wobbles toward him and wraps his arms around Killian’s legs.
“Can you tell they missed you?” Mary Margaret asks as she catches up with her children, David hot on her heels, their hair rustled by the wind.
“No, not at all,” Killian chuckles, setting Leo down to pick up Liam. “It’s been too long. Far too long.” The two brothers are four years apart, and though Killian is not related to them by blood, he’s like a brother to David, thus Uncle Killian to David’s sons. “I missed you too,” Killian says, dropping a kiss to the crown of Liam’s head.
The little lad will be three years old soon, but it feels like only yesterday when Killian cradled the newborn in his arms as the parents announced they were naming him after a man who died a hero—David’s best friend and partner, and Killian’s brother.
He sets little Liam on his feet and looks up at David, noting the laptop satchel strapped around his shoulder. He fooled Killian into thinking this was only a social visit by wearing his casual clothes—khaki shorts and a Hawaiian shirt. And Mary Margaret is carrying a tote bag of beach supplies, ready to lounge on the beach.
“Did you catch anything?” David asks.
“Fishing is not about the catch, mate.”
David grins. “I know. It’s an excuse to drink during the day, right?”
Killian scoffs playfully and waves his words. “Like I need an excuse.”
They share a laugh as they draw each other into a hug and pat one another on the back. They’ve been friends long before Killian joined the Storybrooke Police Department. David’s four years older than him and the same age as Liam would've been—thirty-nine—but the three of them were pretty much inseparable. And after Liam passed, Killian and David shared a heartache neither would ever fully recover from. “I’ve missed you, Jones.”
“Missed you too.” After they break the hug, Killian turns to Mary Margaret, smiling warmly at her. “Thanks for bringing the boys.”
“Of course,” she says, throwing her arms around him. She’s six years younger than David and has been married to him for ten years. They met right after she graduated from college and moved to Storybrooke to take a teaching job. She is now the vice principal at Forest Grove Elementary.
“Sorry if I smell like fish and sweat,” Killian apologizes as he wraps his arms around her.
“Oh wow, you do,” she laughs, pinching her nose but doesn’t pull away. “That’s okay. Wouldn’t expect anything less since you live in this fishing town.”
He chuckles. “You know, I could’ve just visited you all in Storybrooke if I had been given more notice. I could’ve saved you a trip.” He didn’t even know they were coming over until last night when David had called him out of the blue.
Mary Margaret waves off his words as they break the hug. “Nonsense. The boys were dying to see their Uncle Killian, and they've been begging us to take them to the beach, so we thought we'd kill two birds with one stone.”
“It’s nice to see all of you again.” He looks at David, narrowing his eyes. “Though I have a feeling this isn't just a pleasure trip for you, is it?”
David gives into a grin and pats Killian on the shoulder. “Is it ever just pleasure with me?”
Killian chuckles and shakes his head. “Never.” Outwardly he’s relaxed and cheerful, but inwardly, he has a bad feeling about whatever David wishes to discuss with him.
“Uncle Killian, will you make sandcastles with us?!” Leo asks as his mother hands him and Liam a big sand bucket packed with sandcastle molds and a shovel.
Killian opens his mouth to answer but David beats him to the punch. “Actually, we have some important things to discuss first. Then Killian can make sandcastles with you.”
The boys groan their disapproval, Leo gets over it quickly and wastes no time racing off toward the shoreline, Liam wobbling after him.
“Not so fast, you two! Sunblock, first, then floaties!” Mary Margaret calls out, following their trail of messy footprints in the sand.
When Leo halts in his tracks and turns around, going to his mother as she spreads out a blanket on the sand and retrieves a bottle of sunblock from her tote, Liam trails behind his brother.
“Anyone want something to drink?” Killian asks them.
“Sure, I’ll take some iced tea,” Mary Margaret replies.
“Do you have Capri Suns?” Leo asks.
“Of course I do. What kind of uncle would I be if I didn’t stock up on Capri Suns for when my nephews come to visit?”
“Yes!” Leo exclaims, fisting the air.
Mary Margaret pulls off Liam’s shirt and rubs lotion over his back and arms. “Thank you, Killian. And you don’t have to worry about Liam, he has his sippy cup with juice in it.”
“Okay.” Killian turns his head to look at David. “Want a beer?”
“Sure, you got Lone Star?”
Killian’s lips stretch into a wide grin. “Any other beer would be treason.” After he grabs his fishing gear and stores it in the garage, he and David head inside the house.
Killian goes to the refrigerator and pulls out a pitcher of sweet tea, a fruit punch Capri Sun and two bottles of beer, setting them on the island counter. He pops off the caps of the beers before handing a bottle to David. “What important things did you have in mind to discuss?”
David holds up his bag. “Take a wild guess.”
Killian sighs as he pours Mary Margaret a tall glass of tea. “And here I thought you just wanted to catch up on old times.”
“I do, but I also want to discuss a case with you,” David admits softly before taking a swig of his beer.
Killian’s jaw twitches as he glares at his old friend. “Then you’re wasting your time. I came here to Port Lavaca to get away from that stuff.”
“Which is exactly why I brought it to you.” David sets down his beer and places his laptop bag on the counter, unzipping it. “Just give me five minutes, okay?”
“And why should I?”
“Because you’ll want your hands on this case, trust me.” David pulls out his computer and sets it up on the counter.
“How are Elsa and Camila doing?” Killian asks, deliberately changing the subject. He’s not interested in whatever case David is about to present to him, nor is he pretending to be.
“Why don't you ask them yourself?”
“Because you see them and talk to them more often than I do. I didn’t even get invited to Anna’s wedding, which I’m positive the Maid of Honor had something to with.”
David looks up from his open laptop, furrowing his brows. “Doesn't the bride and groom normally choose the people on the guest list? Mary Margaret and I chose our own guests for our wedding.”
“True, but even if Anna and Kristoff wanted to invite me, you don’t think Elsa talked them out of it?”
David shrugs. “Maybe, but if she did, who’s fault is that?”
“David…” Killian mutters with a pained expression, his heart constricting. “You know my relationship with Elsa hasn’t been the best since Liam passed.”
David turns around and plants his hands on his hips, gaping at Killian. “Hasn’t been the best? It’s almost nonexistent.”
“Aye, because of what happened,” Killian states bitterly. “Since then, she’s only ever let me stop by so I can pick up my niece and spend time with her.” He desperately wants to change that though. He wants his sister-in-law back, he wants the friendship they once had, and he wants to spend time with both her and Camila again. He’s tired of missing out on important milestones in Camila's life all because her mother and uncle prefer not to be in the same room together. He’s just been too much of a coward to tell Elsa that. To apologize for letting his temper get the best of him.
“Do you blame her? You let her husband’s killer get away with murder,” David scolds.
Killian slams his beer on the counter, anger surging through him. “I loved him too, okay?! I was only trying to prove—no, you know what?” He raises his open palms in protest. “I’m not doing this with you. Not today, not ever.” He gathers the beverages and storms out, the backdoor squeaking on its corroded hinges as he strides onto the deck and rushes down the steps. He doesn’t need this shite. His nephews are here to visit with him and he’s not about to waste the opportunity.
“Killian, wait!” David calls out from the deck as Killian trudges through the sand. “I’m sorry, I shouldn't have said that! I know you loved him! We all did!”
Killian turns around, pinning him with a glare as David makes his way down the steps. “He was my brother. I’m the last person in the world who wanted that piece of scum to get away with ending his life.”
“I know.” David sighs as he inches closer. “Which is why I’m here.”
Killian narrows his eyes, his brows knitted in confusion. “I thought you were here to discuss a case?”
A pained expression etches David’s features. “I am. A case involving your brother’s killer.”
Killian’s fists clench around the drinks, his jaw tightening at the thought of another innocent victim falling at the hands of—
No, he can't do this. He’s not going down that path again; it only leads to anger, bitterness and vengeance. He shakes his head. “I told you, I’m done with detective work. I’m not interested.” He walks away again, heading toward Mary Margaret and his nephews.
“What if I said there's a good possibility you could catch him this time? Then would you be interested?”
Killian stops in his tracks, gazing out at the sea as David’s words slice through him. No, he shouldn’t care about catching Liam’s killer anymore. He gave up a long time ago. But somehow he finds himself turning around to face David again, curiosity clawing at his gut. “How?”
A triumphant grin crawls across David’s lips. “I knew that would gain your attention.”
“Just tell me,” Killian demands ardently.
David steps toward him. “I'll tell you when you agree to hear me out.” He holds up the five fingers of his right hand. “Five minutes.”
“I’m sorry, I can’t,” Killian mumbles and turns around, walking away. This time, David doesn’t holler after him or follow him.
When Killian brings the drinks to Mary Margaret and Leo, she thanks him and lifts her sunglasses, perching them atop her head and squinting up at Killian. “What were you and David shouting about?”
He shakes his head. “Nothing important.”
Mary Margaret frowns, not believing him. “You should hear him out, Killian. He really misses working with you.”
Killian sighs and sips his beer as he watches Liam filling his bucket with sand and Leo walking along the shore, collecting seashells. “Will I really want my hands on the case?”
A solemn expression creases Mary Margaret’s features. “Would David drive three hours to ask you if he thought otherwise?”
“He would if it meant spending time with an old friend… or at least I would hope,” Killian grumbles.
“Of course he would, but if he didn’t think you’d be interested, he wouldn’t have brought it up.”
Killian takes another swig of his beer, pondering David’s offer.
Mary Margaret puts her tea in the beach cup holder she’d brought with her and gets up to walk toward her sons, giving Leo his drink and sitting across from Liam to help him make a sandcastle.
Killian misses spending time with them, but he doesn’t know if he’s ready to head back to Storybrooke. He’d moved here to this fishing town, Port Lavaca, almost two years ago and bought this cabin on Lighthouse Beach. After Cassidy got away with murdering Liam, Killian blamed himself—everyone blamed him—and he couldn’t stand to be in Storybrooke any longer. He couldn’t live in a town that reminded him of his brother, a town that couldn’t bring his brother’s murderer to justice and pointed their fingers at Killian for the reason Cassidy got away with his crime. David knows he has no interest in going back. Not to Storybrooke, not to the SBPD, and yet he made the trip with his family three hours away from home. Nolan wouldn’t have bothered bringing the case with him if he knew Killian wouldn’t take the bait.
When Killian heads inside and steps through the backdoor, David’s back is leaning against the counter, his arms crossed as he waits for a different answer. Or rather the answer he wants to hear.
Killian knows he’ll regret this, but he can’t deny his curiosity is piqued. The detective in him is itching to know more about the case, or so he tells himself. He assents with an exasperated sigh. “Five minutes. That’s all you get.”
David grins. That’s all I need.” He brings his laptop to the table, and once Killian takes a seat next to him, David plays a video that’s ready to go on his laptop. “This was recorded yesterday.”
The video feed takes place in the interrogation room. David and Detective Jefferson are sitting at one side of the table and there’s a man in a suit sitting on the other side who David says is an attorney. But what really piques his interest—or rather who—is the blonde woman sitting next to the attorney. She’s beautiful, with long blonde hair pulled into a high ponytail and striking green eyes. She’s wearing a black blouse under a fire engine red, two-piece suit and red pumps on her feet. Bold color choice. She’s definitely not a woman who lacks confidence.
“Who is she?”
“This is Dr. Emma Swan. She’s a surgeon at Storybrooke General.”
“That name sounds familiar,” Killian comments, more to himself than to David.
“She’s Anna and Elsa’s cousin. But this conversation and what I’m showing you has to stay between us. I’m only here to visit with an old friend, got it? I haven’t even told Mary Margaret that Anna and Elsa’s cousin is involved in the case.”
Killian nods. “I understand, but what’s her crime? Dressing too nicely. Being too pretty?” he quips with a smirk.
David rolls his eyes. “This is serious, Jones.” He reverts his gaze to the computer screen. “Her colleague, Dr. Graham Humbert, was murdered seven days ago in the Storybrooke General parking lot. They were rival surgeons who bickered and teased each other all the time. Both were vying for the Chief of Surgery position he was appointed to just a week before he was murdered.”
“And you think she offed him for his job title?” Killian asks, unable to take his eyes off her. She doesn’t look like your typical suspect by any means. She’s calm and still, her arms and legs crossed casually, her face expressionless. Typically, people who were being questioned for a felony offense trembled, couldn’t sit still and would sweat profusely. But not this woman. He can't detect any sign of fear or worry in her eyes, her posture or her behavior.
“I think there’s more to it than that, but yes, I think she had something to do with his death. The night he was murdered, Dr. Swan was with Graham at the Rabbit Hole. According to other colleagues who were also there celebrating Graham’s promotion, the two surgeons were having an intimate discussion.”
Killian lifts a brow. “You think they were lovers?”
“According to Emma and everyone else, they weren’t. They often squabbled, but it was mostly friendly. They respected each other.”
“Ah, I see.”
“Dr. Swan said he walked her to her car that night, and before she left, she saw him head back inside. According to the bar owner and his employees who were on duty that night, Dr. Humbert left the bar an hour later, around eleven o’clock and went home. His phone records show he received a call at 2:20 in the morning, but it was from a restricted number.”
“And let me guess, the number was untraceable?”
“Yep. But whoever called him knew the safety code.”
“Safety code?”
“Anyone who calls in hospital staff is required to supply the safety code. You know, like when parents give their kids a safety word for emergencies so they don’t get abducted by strangers.”
“So, whoever called Humbert was someone who works at the hospital?”
“Possibly, and either that person had something to do with his murder or it’s a sheer coincidence the phone call preceded his death by only twenty minutes. But no one I spoke with at the hospital knew about the phone call or why he would've been called in. He wasn't on call that night.”
“Was Dr. Humbert married?”
“Nope, never was. A few people I interviewed mentioned he once had a fling with Dr. Regina Mills, head of Cardiology, but it ended four years ago. She’s now happily married.”
“Maybe they still had something together, but kept it secret so her husband didn’t find out? And if so, maybe her husband found out and is the one who murdered him?”
“The husband, Mr. Locksley owns the Rabbit Hole, and he was closing the bar at the time Dr. Humbert was murdered. One of his employees was there to corroborate that.”
“Dr. Mills didn’t take his last name when they got married?”
“No, I asked her about it during the interview, and she said she wanted to keep her maiden name to avoid confusing her regular patients.”
“And where was she that night?”
“She was tending to a patient with cardiac arrest.”
“What was the cause of Dr. Humbert's death?”
David clears his throat and retrieves a folder from his bag, pulls out some photos and spreads them over the table.
Killian swallows the sizable lump in his throat. The photos are of the murder victim with a knife lodged in beneath his left arm.
“Massive hemorrhaging from the stab wound.”
Killian picks up one of the photos, studying it. “And the knife’s untraceable as well?” he asks bitterly, though he doesn’t need to. He already knows the answer.
“Of course. The knife is an average filleting knife that could’ve come from any kitchen. The blade went through clean as a whistle and popped Dr. Humbert's heart like a balloon. And no fingerprints. Whoever did this knew what he was doing. Or she.”
“Like another doctor?”
David shrugs. “Possibly.”
“And you’re certain the cardiologist was with a patient? She would know exactly where to stab a person to make it fatal.”
“I checked the hospital security footage for verification. She went into her patient’s room at the time of the murder. Her alibi checks out.”
“Were there any witnesses?”
“A security guard saw Humbert pull into the parking lot but never saw him go inside. When he left his post to check on Dr. Humbert, he found Graham’s body near his car. The murderer was like a ghost. Never seen, never heard. He left without a fucking trace.”
The hairs on the back of Killian’s neck stand on end. “Cassidy...” He cringes from merely speaking his name.
David nods. “Question is, who hired him?”
“This Dr. Swan… is she married?” Killian doesn’t think Emma had anything to do with the murder, but perhaps a jealous lover who saw her with Graham that night hired Cassidy. He’s drawing straws though.
“No husband or boyfriend to speak of. She lives alone. No kids, not even birth parents. She was shuffled around from one foster home to another until she was adopted at the age of ten—by Anna and Elsa’s aunt. I’m sure you've heard the story?”
“Aye, after their parents died in a car accident, Anna and Elsa went to stay with their Aunt Ingrid and her adopted daughter.” Killian points at the computer screen. “That’s her?”
David nods. “Yep. The aloof cousin.”
“Huh.” Why has he never met this aloof cousin? Of course, if he’d known she was so gorgeous, he’d have made that happen a long time ago, but he'd never seen a picture of her, at least not one of her as an adult. If he had, he would have recognized her on the video. Killian shakes off the thoughts and studies the photos again. “I don’t get how a good-looking, successful doctor like this man stayed single?” Or a beautiful, successful doctor like Emma for that matter.
David shrugs. “He probably was by choice. Maybe he was too focused on his career and thought a romantic relationship would only distract him. Or maybe he was in love with Regina and knew he couldn’t have her, so he didn’t want anyone else.”
“Or maybe he was in love with someone else?” Killian poses. If he were Graham and had a female friend like Emma, he doubts he’d have only platonic feelings for her. “You said he walked Emma to her car that night?”
“That’s right.”
“Was there a kiss goodnight?”
“When I questioned Dr. Swan, she said they hugged, and he kissed her on the cheek. I asked her if that was normal and she said no. It surprised her. But I checked the video footage in front of the bar. Mr. Locksley set up a camera there after someone tried to throw a rock through the door window a couple of years ago.”
“To steal alcohol?”
“Or cash from the till,” David shrugs. “Whatever their reason was, they weren’t successful. Probably got spooked by someone who saw them. Anyway, the hug between the two surgeons lasted too long to be friendly.”
“How long?”
“Ten seconds.”
“How long is a normal hug?”
“A few seconds, maybe more, depending on the relationship of the person you’re hugging. But ten seconds is too long if you’re only friends. Or frenemies in this case. So maybe, Graham had feelings for her but she didn’t return them? Maybe Graham made her feel uncomfortable or said something to her when he hugged her, and that, topped with him getting the promotion she desired was enough to want him dead.”
Killian mulls it over for a moment, then shakes his head. “No, it’s too obvious. She’s smarter than that. She’s a doctor and has way more education than both of us combined. If she really wanted him dead, she wouldn’t have hired someone to murder him a week after his promotion. I don’t think she hired Cassidy.”
David cocks a brow, a sly smirk curving his lips. “So does that mean you’re in?”
“I didn’t say that,” Killian grumbles.
“But it’s been over five minutes. Which means I’ve intrigued you. Otherwise, we’d be outside with my wife and kids right now.”
Bloody hell.
David’s right. Killian is intrigued, and not solely by the case, but by the blonde woman on David’s computer screen. He wants to know more about her; he wants to find out more information. He has a gut feeling about her; he knows she didn’t murder Dr. Humbert. He doesn’t believe the whole rival surgeons scenario is a motive for murder. He and David also bicker and tease each other, but he would never murder David over a job promotion. “Okay, fine. I’m intrigued. But as I said, I don’t think she had anything to do with Dr. Humbert’s murder.”
David makes a noise of hesitance and appears to be unsure about Killian’s assessment. “There’s something else you should know that might change your mind.”
Killian cocks a brow. “What’s that?”
“Did you hear about Cassidy’s most recent trial?”
Killian shakes his head. “I stopped watching the news or following any media regarding that arsehole,” Killian mutters. “Not knowing there’s yet another victim left in his path of destruction is the only way I can sleep at night.”
“He was acquitted from another capital punishment.”
Killian scoffs. “So he got away with another murder? What else is new?”
David sighs and fast-forwards through the video. “Just listen.” He hits play.
“Dr. Swan, did you recently serve on a jury that recently acquitted an accused contract killer, Neal Gold?”
Killian’s eyebrow jumps, and he reclines in his chair, crossing his arms.
“What’s the relevance of the question, Detective?” Mr. Hopper asks, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose.
David raises his hand in defense. “I’ll get to that, I promise.”
“Please do very quickly,” Emma says curtly. “Some of us don’t have time for unnecessary interviews. I have patients waiting for me.”
David sighs. “The sooner you answer my questions, the sooner you can leave.”
She expels a tentative breath. “Yes, I served on the jury that acquitted Mr. Gold.”
“And were you or were you not the forewoman?”
Killian swallows the lump in his throat.
“I was. But you already knew that. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have asked.”
“Feisty lass,” Killian remarks with a subtle smirk.
David nods. “That’s for sure. Feisty but polite.”
They revert their attention to the video.
“That’s correct. I’ve already interviewed the other eleven jurors.”
“Why?”
“Because I believe Dr. Humbert’s killer was hired. He wasn’t robbed, and he has no known adversaries… other than you, Dr. Swan.”
Emma narrows her eyes at the insinuation. “Dr. Humbert and I were not adversaries. We were friendly colleagues.”
“Yes, you were a colleague of his who wanted the promotion he got, and recently let a contract killer back on the streets.”
Her eyes widen as she lunges forward in her seat. “I didn’t free him. The judge made the final decision. My job was to determine the facts and reach a verdict based on all the facts and evidence. In that case, the evidence was lacking.”
Her attorney puts out his hand to stop her from continuing to speak any further. “Detective, Mr. Gold’s crime was alleged and has no relevance to this case.”
David pauses the video. “Some of the jurors said Cassidy and the doctor kept making eyes at each other.
Killian quirks a brow. He doesn't doubt any straight, red-blooded male would be attracted to Emma, but he highly doubts a woman of her class, beauty and intelligence would be interested in a scumbag like Cassidy. “Did you question her about it?”
“Yes, she claimed he kept staring at her, but that his attentions were very much unwanted. That’s as far as I got before Mr. Hopper stood and asked if there were any more unnecessary questions I wanted to ask her.”
“So, you think the doctor hired Cassidy to eliminate her competition?”
“The crime scene had his name written all over it.”
“I’m not arguing that. But I don’t think someone like her,” Killian says, pointing at the paused screen, “would get involved with someone like that piece of scum.” The thought makes him utterly sick to his stomach.
“He may be scum, but he’s clever scum. That’s why your brother coined his moniker, remember?”
“Aye.” He remembers very well when Liam began calling him Cassidy.
One time Killian asked his brother why he called him that, and he said Neal’s father, a convicted felon Liam successfully put behind bars, was referred to only as his surname, Gold. To avoid any confusion, he didn’t call Neal by his surname too, nor did he wish to call Neal by his first name—Liam never called perps by their first name—so initially, Neal was the clever killer because he seemed to be an exception to Locard's Exchange Principle, which asserts, “the perpetrator of a crime will bring something to the crime scene and leave with something from it,” and that “both can be used as forensic evidence.” Dr. Edmond Locard was the Sherlock Holmes of France who came up with the basic principle of forensic science, “every contact leaves a trace.”
While Cassidy always leaves a weapon at the scene, he never purchases the weapons, or at least there is never a trace of the purchase. He also never leaves fingerprints. There was only one single time when Cassidy was sloppy and accidentally left something of his behind and that was when he murdered Liam. But he never took anything from his victims.
The name Cassidy was brought up when Elsa became pregnant with Camila and they were deciding on names. Elsa had mentioned Cassidy as a possible name for their daughter, and when Liam looked up the name to see what it meant, he discovered the origins of the name and that it meant clever. So it became Neal’s nickname.
When Liam’s daughter was born, he suggested they call her Camila, which means perfect , and Elsa was immediately on board with it. Killian’s glad Liam and Elsa didn’t end up naming their child Cassidy. How ironic would it have been if Liam gave his daughter the same name he gave the man who eventually killed him?
Liam never mentioned Neal Gold to Elsa, he didn’t like bringing work home with him and he especially didn’t like to cause his wife any distress by talking about a notorious serial killer on the loose. He didn’t want Elsa to worry about her husband, and while she knew the risks that came with Liam’s job as a homicide detective, he made her believe he mostly reviewed old, unsolved cases.
After Liam died, Killian promised Elsa he’d find her husband’s killer. While no one was certain of who murdered Liam because there was no evidence, except for a single thread of fabric left behind at the crime scene, Killian and David knew. But Killian botched any chance they had of convicting Cassidy and failed Elsa and Camila in the process. Not only did he fail, but he’s the reason why Cassidy couldn’t be convicted. He acted on high emotions after Liam’s death. He was so angry and vengeful, he was willing to do whatever it took to put Cassidy behind bars. And that’s exactly why he failed. He didn’t think. He made a split decision, and several people have subsequently paid the price for that decision. Now a highly respected surgeon has been added to that list, along with who knows how many others.
“So, how will you proceed?” Killian asks skittishly, afraid of what David’s answer might be.
“Not me. Us,” David says. “I need your help.”
“Why me? Why not Scarlet or Jefferson?”
“Because I need someone with your instincts, someone good, and you're better than them or anyone else in our department. Besides, no one knows Cassidy like you do.”
Killian shakes his head. “I can’t. Any case involving Cassidy is personal for me. After he killed—” His voice cracks. He can’t even force the rest of the words out. “I can't.”
“Come on, Killian. I’m not asking you to come back permanently; just this one case, that's it,” David pleads. “If you won’t do this for me, do it for your brother.”
Damn it, Nolan. Why did he have to go and use that card?
Killian sighs and stands up, pacing the kitchen. When he reaches David again, he stops and places his hands on his hips. “Let’s say I said yes, what would you want me to do?”
“Search for any clues that will tell us if Emma and Cassidy are in alliance.”
Killian furrows his brows. “Since you need probable cause, I'm guessing you don't have a warrant for Dr. Swan, so how do you suppose I do that?”
David shakes his head. “Ah-ah, I’m not telling you until you say you’re in.”
Killian sighs dramatically as he drags his hand over his face. He has a feeling he’s not going to like whatever plan David has up his sleeve. But he misses working with him again, and he has to admit, he still doesn’t believe Emma had anything to do with her colleague’s murder. So perhaps he can go along with David’s plan to prove that. He looks at David again and with a curt nod, he makes it official. “I’m in.”
To that, David says nothing, just grins complacently.
Killian gulps. What the bloody hell did he just sign up for?

Armie Hammer wants a sequel to The Man From U.N.C.L.E.—shouldn’t you?
This post is a long time in coming, Gentle Readers and @jammeke, but now, though it might be here, before your very eyes, to think it will be well-laid out would be a mistake. It’s set to be just about as messy as Ilya’s misplaced loyalties and murky motivations.
How dare!
I probably first watched this film well over a year ago (courtesy @jammeke posting things about it). I used Sling OnDemand (I think on TNT). In the ensuing viewings I also watched it in that way, but as I was sitting down for a fourth(?) viewing, it kept coming to me that I was tired of watching it with commercials I couldn’t skip, and I had a sneaking suspicion that it had been edited for time and I was missing out on scenes. [pointless aside: I was also watching the film in chunks, and never as a whole]
Where is she now? What’s the time stamp? How far along did she get? Are you shagging the hotel hostess yet?
So, I, uh, set out to buy it on DVD—without any luck! In the sense that copies I could find cost more (w/ shipping) than buying it to stream. So, I bought it to stream on Amazon. Do I regret my choice, Gentle Readers? No, no I don’t. I do regret burden of knowledge in learning that TNT was already playing the entirety of the film. That was a hard pill to swallow.
Nope, I’ve looked. That’s absolutely everything. Nothing additional lurking around here...
So here it is, as it is, @jammeke, “My Notes on The Man from U.N.C.L.E.”
Look, I don’t know what this film is. I probably can’t fully articulate its appeal. Or maybe I can--certainly after transcribing four page I’ve tried. Number One thing to know about me and fiction/films is that a top draw for me is seeing something out of the ordinary, such as beautiful locations, a historical era, delicious costumes. There are times, frankly, this can trump weak story and undefined character for me. (The best films, of course, combine all three) Certainly, The Man... delivers in the delight of the eyes. Additionally, I must confess that growing up as a person older than @reblogginhood but younger than Miss Fisher, so much of what was on TV was essentially reruns of this film’s iconic Look(tm). So, when I see women dressed like Gaby I am just another three-to-seven-year-old overcome with the drop dead glamour of it all.
Darling, tell me how you really feel...
Some questions I have:
· IS Armie Hammer a hulk of a man? Everyone in this film seems to think so, yet he always tracks to me as trim (rather than hulking)
· Why translate via captions some Russian speaking, but not all?
· IS Napoleon’s backstory directly cribbed from USA’s White Collar?
· DOES Gaby have a German accent?
· Does Ilya get preternaturally attached to all the people he’s ordered to look after? Also, what is his bonding rate with kittens?
Sorry, wrong iteration.
· If Lady Villain knows the lens is wrong—if her technical understanding is that in-depth--does she really need Gaby’s dad to make the bomb?
· How old was Gaby during the war?
· What happens when Ilya gets a NEW puppy assigned to him? (please let this be addressed in film #2)
Hooray for:
· That bathroom fight! *all the Burn Notice feels!
· Gaby is her own lady, and chooses sides as necessary—not always unilateral in her support for either male character. Case in point: she sides with Ilya over the clothes, and Napoleon over the incident of the wallet.
· That delicious (speaking as Rusty, here) Ocean’s 11-stylized action. It’s pretty, so I’m not bored with it. Sometimes a sandwiched montage gets shown, so I’m REALLY not bored. I’ve got 18 tiny moving boxes of things to look at!
· Pinkie rings. There, you’ve told me everything I need to know about that character.
· Solo in a beret. English has not yet found a word for the feeling it evoked in this viewer. Somewhere between ‘precious’ and ‘oh, no’.
See, there? Now you’ve felt it too.
· Goggles! All the accessories! Dune Buggies! (I mean, that’s what I’m calling Napoleon’s chase-scene ride)
Things I adore:
· It seems (after some research) that more than a few folks view Gaby as a third wheel, and though she’s not exactly a Princess Leia commandeering her own rescue and exuding competence and a deserved take-charge-attitude at every corner, she IS a foci for both male characters (though romantically it would seem only for one), just as Ilya is a foci for both her and Napoleon [no one seems to worry about Napoleon, though they should--film #2, anyone?]
· Mechanic Gaby not needing a beauty makeover, or being dragged into one. She gets some nice clothes, but it’s never suggested that she’s not attractive or acceptable before putting them on, and I respect, nay, embrace it.
Oh, my heart. She’s still not as tall as them!
· Ilya, drab pigeon Ilya, knowing fashion
· Oh man, don’t even get me started on the power of the statement, “it doesn’t have to match”
· You knew it was coming on this sublist: the wrestle-fight. I mean, c’mon. Poor little Gaby, locked behind the Iron Curtain, living a life of always being watched. She’s in the swankest hotel (I mean, Napoleon chose it, so we can be sure it’s swank with an E). She’s trying to celebrate her freedom, her liberation. She’s playing verboten music, she’s drinking to excess. Girl wants—and deserves—a party. And Ilya is…not built for that (that he knows of). For some fun, just imagine if she had been given Napoleon to room with instead.
o I will say that this scene, and some of their other interactions have what I would call early (non-sibling) Luke and Leia energy. Ilya seems to have moments of being struck by Gaby in a way Luke is struck by Leia in the early part of the trilogy. When Leia takes charge, and Luke accepts it. When Leia does something incredible, and Luke is left open-mouthed. *no, I don’t see OT Star Wars in everything. Shut up.
· “He fixed the glitch.”
· Again, shout-out to the non-action action.
· “I left my jacket in there.”
· The whole race to rescue Gaby I am in love with beyond words. [I have noted it as “Crazy Jeep Drive with Warhead!”] Probably b/c it comes across as totally egalitarian. Both men want her rescued. They’re no longer in competition. It’s just as important to Napoleon as it is to Ilya to catch up to her. Also, it is bonkers, like some sort of X-games version of a commercial for the vehicles they’re driving. And screaming Willie Scott does not make an appearance.
Someone says “winkle” out.
· Look! Another note about the screen divisions and how I love it, shout-outs to the original Steve McQueen The Thomas Crown Affair (a contemporary of when this movie is meant to be set), and TV’s 24.
Things that get a great, big NOPE:
· Jerrod Harris: you’ve been in so much streamable content in the last decade I can’t hate you, but frankly, you’re terrible here—unless you’re supposed to be giving a mannered, not-campy-enough-to-be-enjoyable performance here. Your American English puts me in the mind of Alex Hawaii 5-0′Loughlin where it feels you’re concentrating so hard on your accent that you fail to convince anyone that you’re a harried, over-worked and exasperated spy handler. Your performance is at odds with every bit of dialogue you’re given to say.
· That awful, mishandled title that doesn’t even connect to the film until the final moments (a sequel set-up, for sure)
· Look, you don’t introduce Hugh Grant casually mid-way through your film in a throwaway appearance. I mean, he’s HUGH GRANT we all know something’s up now.
· This is not exactly a great big NOPE, b/c I love a flat cap, Tommy Shelby—but I feel like a less tall man with a far rounder face in a flat cap would track more as Russian to me that AH does. To me, he just looks like he’s about to go golfing.
Over par? Unacceptable!
· Is Victoria a British-accented Italian? A British woman who married—what? Gaby’s uncle isn’t Italian!? An Italian who went to school in Britain? My head hurts. Also, is her hair meant to be unconvincingly bleached?
Other commentary:
· Napoleon’s adult ne’er-do-well backstory is so far from being emotionally equivalent to Ilya’s childhood trauma [and his enslavement to the USSR] it seems bestial when he calls it out on multiple occasions. Badly done, Solo.
· Gaby is the film’s key (sorry, Buffy fans). Everyone is connected to her. Yes, she could have been given a bit more on the character front, but I don’t see her as as much of a flaw in the film as some others/reviewers seem to.
· Look, essentially (and not very nuanced-ly), Ilya is a stalker. I think the film goes a certain distance in establishing that his early behavior toward Gaby is not normal, but concurrently it does not truly call him out on it. He’s essentially viewed as an odd-duck, sure, but not a true threat to her (should she not reciprocate or tolerate his intensity toward her). I think I might be able to cite his behavior when Gaby comes on to him (that he doesn’t jump at a chance with her) that maybe he’s given a little more nuance than a straight-on stalker, and it helps that he and Napoleon never get into a pissing match over Gaby’s person, only over her new clothes. But overall the film has to walk a fine line (and the jury is still out on how successful it is, I’d say) between playing Ilya’s laser-like attention to Gaby for its humor, and calling it out for the unsettling, threatening behavior it is.
· Honestly, it wasn’t until I engaged the Closed Captioning that I understood Napoleon was calling Ilya the ‘Red Peril’. So, that was nearly three viewings in.
· I give the screen credits A+, on both ends. Not to mention the end credits are actually INTERESTING with lots to see and learn! (Certainly we learn more about HG in them than we do at any time during the film)
Things I would have liked:
· More of fish-out-of-the-Iron-Curtain Gaby moments
· A better dichotomy shown of East vs. West Berlin/Germany. There’s nothing easy either visually or otherwise to distinguish the two.
· HC being given a more specific American accent (from an actual locality). This, for an American viewer, works better than the flat, unlocated American accent many a British actor will bust out. *Mind you, HC does a generally good job, but he fails utterly on both “Immediate” which he pronounces at least twice as “immeedeejt” [rather than imm-E-deeot] and “Nazi” as “NAHT-zee” [rather than “NOT-zee”]. And let’s not get started on that late in the film use of ‘earnt’, a word that—well, it’s just not in the American English twentieth century lexicon.
· C’mon. You gotta tease the Hugh Grant more.
· Solo is a blank before the war. I’ve read thoughts on the film calling out Gaby as the blank character, but they’re wrong. Solo is the blank. He’s the ‘made’ man, his identity seemingly assembled during the war and after. For example, he doesn’t go into the war a thief, nor (it would seem) a particularly educated or urbane individual. Now THAT’s a juicy backstory I’d love to learn about, perhaps in film #2--or #3? What creates a Napoleon Solo? What would he be doing if he weren’t on the government’s leash/incarcerated? Is anyone left caring about him back wherever he calls home? I mean, who doesn’t love a gender-flipped 60s-era Holly Golightly backstory? [And yes, I would love there to be an ex-wife or even a current wife mixed up in his origins as well—Guy Ritchie, call me!]
Notes I have that I’m not sure if they still make sense to me:
· Only mom calls me Napoleon (do he say it ‘mum’?) Is he a secret Canadian?
· Solo’s torture, 1st view recall Napoleon’s childhood? *I think this means that after watching the first time I somehow erroneously believed that during the torture Napoleon’s childhood was a topic gone over. This was wrong. HOWEVER, this would have made far more story-sense than the backstory we’re given on an easily disposeable villain.
· “Even the average Russian agent. You’re special.” ?
· Uncle is Baddie (*so glad I made this note to myself)
· Ilya’s dad IS an embarrassment. I’m not sure what genius commentary I had in my mind, here. Perhaps that Ilya himself is embarrassed of him? Not just Ilya’s handler’s? [Also, aside: Napoleon totally slut-shames Ilya’s mom, which is the doublest of double standards from ‘I got myself the biggest and most ornate suite b/c I-wanted-plenty-of-space-for-my-random-seductions’ and I really wish Ilya had thrown that back in his face] *yes, of course I know that Ilya and Napoleon would not likely equate a wife/mother’s sexual exploits with that of Solo’s, but let’s be honest, this film tweaks the nose of (I won’t say reverses, it doesn’t go that far) plenty of tropes and gender expectations, and this certainly seems like a missed opportunity to call Solo on the carpet (which I hope film #2 does far more)
Things I wrote down so long ago I don’t recall what they mean:
· CC-save
In conclusion:
What does film #2 look like? What title does it get? Will the Peter/Neil White Collar dynamic continue to grow? *note that I have no confidence a second film will ever come to pass...
In the end, all I know is, “It didn't help when American Tom Cruise, who was slated to play U.S. spy Napoleon Solo, dropped out, prompting the casting of Cavill (who had previously read for the Russian role).“ I would not have watched that film.

Omg if you’re taking requests for coops, maybe sirius showing up with a huge bouquet of roses and remus and the team not being able to handle it, or the team trying to stealthily follow them on their first date by like hiding behind pillars and having code names lol. oR sirius asking for the teams help to do something for remus. hope one of these peaks your interest!
Dear Anon,
you have not been forgotten! I just needed a moment to come up with something.
Abort Mission!
He would rather eat a skate than admitting that he's a total sap and yet, here we are.
Remus was lying on a blanket in the middle of a wildflower meadow at the edge of lolligo-lake in the park, surrounded by candles, his head on his boyfrieds lap while being fed strawberries by said boyfried.
He absolutely loved it! And even more, he loved that Sirius obviously loved it. His dopey smile hadn’t left his face since he removed Remus' blindfold on the blanket.
Little did Remus know that in the nearby shrubbery, a certain Russian tried to not freak-out as a little spider slowly roped down in front of his face.
"Kuny be quiet! They will hear us!" Nado was on edge.
"NADO is spider, might bite us, might be ve- veno... Might be bad!" Kuny whisper-yelled while leaning as far away as possible without leaving the greenery.
"You are 6'4'' Russian terror on legs! Stop getting spooked by a tiny spider."
"But spider..."
"There are no venomous spiders in Gryffindor. Keep calm, love." Nado patted the head of his, secretly very soft and sensitive, flatmate in a calming way.
Nados phone lit up with a message.
WHAT THEY HELL ARE THE DISASTER TWINS DOING?! THEY WILL BE SEEN! – The coolest Team
Who? – Voice of reason?
Kuny and Nado. – The coolest Team
This night will be over before I have learned that. – Voice of Reason
On the other side of the completely undisturbed and definitely not spied on couple, Kasey and James were laying flat on the ground between the high grass, binoculars rised.
"See anyone snooping on our precious lovebirds, Kase?"
"You mean except us?"
"Oi! We're not snooping, we protect them. With love. No one dare interrupting my lovesick puppies. I will take them all down before they even come close!!"
"Endearing, Pots. I think I already have like nine ticks at my- Hell no!" Kasey dropped his binoculars and started frantically tapping on his phone.
I think they have spotted the Voice of Reason! Abort approach! – The coolest Team
Who? – Voice of Reason
YOU! Stir the boat away from the shore before they can make out your faces! – Disaster Twins
Whose idea was it with the stupid code names anyway? – Voice of Reason
Oh, Shut up Dumo, they're brilliant! – The coolest Team
No. No, they're not. – Lovebirds
It's Talker here and they are brilliant! – Voice of Reason
NO! Do not betray me! – Voice of Reason
Nicknames is fun. Not have much fun here! Spider try kill us! – Disaster Twins
Oh, hell xD – Lovebirds
"Oh my god, this is gold!" Leo sniggered and leaned out of the giant hammock they've installed the day prior in the crown of a large weeping willow, directly above Remus and Sirius.
He and his two boys were scheduled to keep an overview of proceedings and who would say no to a night out in a hammock with the hottest guys of the NHL, which just so happened to be his boyfriends? Even if the occasion was absolutely ludicrous, he was in.
"But the codenames are bad." Logan put his binoculars down to rub at his eyes.
"Well, Pots came up with them, what did you expect?"
"True." Logan yawned and carefully rolled over to bury his face in Finns chest.
"It's funny in Potty's flat and stupid sense of humour. I Mean Lovebirds. Us. In the tree. In a Hammock that resembles a nest. Not subtle but entertaining."
"Shut up Fish." The other two groaned in unison.
"What is that?" Leo sat up, making grabby hands for Logan's spy glasses.
"What?" Finn peaked up, too.
"Over there, near Kuny and Nado"
"You mean the disaster twins?"
"Finn you're sleeping in your own bed tonight." Leo was getting a little irritated with these stupid, overcomplicating names. Potter!
"Ok."
"Alone."
"NOOOOOOO!" Finn was a man! He would never whine! But he did.
"Then shut up, there are people coming! Logan, send an alert."
Hey, Nado there is a group of teenage girls approaching! – Lovebirds
Oh no. And it’s Disaster Twins. – The coolest team
And sure, when Nado turned around there was a gaggle of gushing girls ducking a few feet away in the same bushes, peaking out to get a glimpse at the unsuspecting couple in the meadow. Nado tried to stand very still while also looking intimidating wnough to scare the girly away. If I don't move, they won't see me. Just like in Jurassic Park.
"Nado."
"Nado."
"Nado."
"WHat?" This time, it was the addressee's turn to whisper-yell.
"I'm think is too much same." Kuny quietly fidgeted with his hands.
"What?"
"They and we. Should feel bad for snooping on cap. We just like girls."
"Kuny, we do not snoop. We protect!"
"Sure?"
"...no." Nado, veeery slowly, turned to his phone.
Hey guys, you think we've taken this too far? -Disaster Twins
Why, what would ever make you think that? - Lovebirds
WE. NEED. TO. PROTECT. – The coolest Team
And who is gonna protect them from you? Or... us? – The voice of Reason
OH SHIT! One of the girls in the shrubbery is Adele!!!! – Disaster Twins
Has she seen you? – Voice of Reason
ABORT MISSION! ABORT MISSON! – The coolest Team
My end is near. Farewell, friends. It was tolerable knowing you. – Voice of Reason
RIP Dumo. - Lovebirds
After watching the others flee the scene, more or less stealthily, Leo turned to Finn and Logan.
"Think we're we done now?"
"Seems like it." Finn just shrugged.
"Then let's go home."
"We can't." Logan stopped mid getting up and looked at Leo.
"Why?"
"Caps and Loops cannot not notice us climbing down the tree directly besides them. And so far, I think we might be the safest of them all."
"Right." Logan plopped down again.
"Well... We have blankets, it's a mild night with a clear sky..." Finn just noticed airily. And continued with a little smile while his boys were following along with interest.
"We're together..."
"Rather romantic up here isn't it, with the branches like curtains..." Leo continued with bright eyes.
"Might make the best out of it?" Logan patted suggestively at his side.
"YES!!!" Leo exclaimed in a very quiet whoop and flung himself between the others.
Little did Remus know... Or, did he?
Three days earlier...
Remus created HELP!

Thank you!!! – Re
You get an update after your date. - Lils
Adele is ready and wants you to know that she got it. Now go and don't worry ma chérie. - Celeste
Alright :D Love you! - Re
The morning after the date...
When Kuny and Noda arrived at the locker room, about five minutes late, they were in for a shock. Every stall of the 'Mission protect- squad' was plastered with photographs of them spying. The guys that politely declined any involvement were chirping them badly for being that bad in secrecy.
They would probably never hear the end of it.
Although, no pictures of O'Knutzy were taken during the mission, there were indeed pictures of them setting up the hammock.
Sirius and Remus were nowhere to be seen... the quiet was freaking them more out than any yelling ever could.
And then, it came down on them. Cap and Loops were already waiting on the ice with snacks for the team and death-drills for the assholes.
"We'll never do that again!"
"Snooping on our Cap and PT? No, they are too much of a powerful combination."
"But how did they get all the photos?"
"Adele." Dumos face was crestfallen.
"But that means-" Nado piqued up while rubbing his sore ass.
"Celeste." Dumo nodded.
"Oh, hell." Leo muttered while he and Finn dragged an almost passed-out Logan along. If his exclamation concerned that or the evil genius of Dumo's wife, no one knew.
"Probably Lily and Natalie, too." James and Kasey were leaning against each other.
"No chance. Too smart." Kuny shook his head while he softly kneaded Nados shoulders.
"Caps and Loops are gonna pay for that mean trickery." The desperation on Dumo's face was replaced with utter determination.
"I've pranked people before they were even out of their diapers! With my own wife, nontheless! Je n'accepterai pas la défaite!"
"What have we done...."
I really hope you like it!
Writing it was a lot of fun. I would never laugh at my own jokes.
As always stay safe and channel your inner Hufflepuff <3

synopsis in which mark admits his attraction to you
you released a heavy sigh, your best friends all overflowing on your couch. "i've babysat all of your children. can't you all do this one favor for me? the only one who has babysat melanie is jinyoung"
jinyoung nodded according to your statement. five of them chorused in groans and whines. "we all have plans tonight. spare us?" jackson pleaded, gripping youngjae's hand.
you glared at him, "well i have plans too and it's more important than regular, old partying. now," you pulled out your secret weapon. signaling your daughter to come over from your loveseat.
melanie giddily stood by your side and the guys visibly cringed. they didn't want to upset melanie and that's exactly why she's your secret weapon.
you tapped her full head of curls and pointed at the group in front of you both. smirking as they quivered and held onto each other for dear life. "pick who you want to babysit you bub"
melanie narrowed her eyes and tapped her chin. inquisitively eyeing her contestants, filling them with fright. her feet eventually moved towards east.
yugyeom pretended to pass out and the group collectively broke in laughter. but he wasn't even her pick. melanie stopped at mark's knees who clearly didn't even know what was going on.
he placed his phone to the side and picked up the child, placing her on his lap.
"mark, do you even know what's going on?" jackson stared at him in disbelief. mark pulled out his headphones, "huh?"
"looks like you have to babysit mel for the night, mark" you said. snickering when the other six let out sighs of relief.
"oh. okay" mark shrugged, smiling down at melanie.
"why did we have this whole dramatic scene if mark was willing to do it in the first place?" bambam exclaimed in shock.
you shrugged, "you're all free to leave"
"so, i have to babysit because you're going on a date?" mark questioned from your left, watching you struggle to keep up your towel and hold a dress at the same time.
"exactly" you said, handing the dress you had chosen to mark while you fixed your towel and grabbed the heels from by your closet door.
mark held the dress by it's metal hanger and glanced into the dress section of your closet. spotting a dress that would look even more impressive on your frame. "i think that wine dress looks better" mark commented.
you looked at the dress he was referencing to and nodded. "i agree but it's a bit tighter on me. wouldn't want to turn him away with my chub" you laughed. but mark furrowed his eyebrows at you.
"you're going to catfish him?" his eyes followed you as you walked over to dresser to fish out some fitting intimates.
"i wouldn't call it— anyway, it's probably not going to work out anyway so who cares" you shrugged.
mark nodded. "but if that's the case just wear the dress"
you sighed and spared your persistent friend a glance to know that he had won. "fine"
"i'm ready!" mark heard while sliding another glove onto melanie's arm. he stood up and grabbed her hand. "mommy's ready"
"do i look like a princess uncle mark?" melanie questioned while they turned the corner from her room and into the main hallway.
"you look like a true princess, mel—" mark was saying until he saw you at the end of the hallway. he felt his heartbeat pick up and his palms get sweaty.
"ooooo! look at my little princess" you cooed at your daughter who raced to your side.
mark was at a loss for words. that dress fit you in all the right places. "so do you, ___" mark blurted whatever was on his mind. and that was that you belonged in somebody's fairytale obviously.
you inhaled sharply and felt heat take over your cheeks. "thank you mark"
you grabbed melanie's hand and mark hurried to fall suit behind the two you. "how's junior?" you exited that detour of being flustered. remembering that mark is one of your best friend's, not your date tonight.
"a pain in my— ahhhh—" mark realized who was also in the hallway with him.
melanie snorted, "you can curse, uncle mark. mommy does it all the time" she nonchalantly snitched on you, her mother.
mark looked at you in surprise. you all entered your kitchen and you turned around with an awkward smile.
"uhhh— force of habit?"
"right" mark chuckled. "i'll make melanie some dinner"
"thank you" you sighed and sat at the island with your daughter.
"you're not leaving right now?"
you shook your head, "the date is at seven. it's only six—thirty, i don't want to be too early"
mark shook his head. "does it really matter?"
"time is everything, mark. but i'll leave right now i guess" you gathered your necessities and slid from the stool.
you placed a loving kiss to the crown of melanie's head. "i'll be back in a couple hours, lovebug. behave for uncle mark, okay?"
"of course, mommy" she smiled.
mark closed the oven which held dinosaur nuggets inside and followed you to the front door. he pulled you into a tight hug.
"have fun, okay? if this guy makes you feel bad i'll beat him up" he quipped playfully. you giggled but nodded your head nonetheless.
mark pulled away but held your shoulders protectively. "and if there's any trouble, call me"
"i promise, mark"
mark stared at the bourbon in his glass. having done everything he was required to do tonight. the last task was taken care of a whopping ten minutes ago. melanie was passed out in her tiana dress but she insisted to keep it on and mark wasn't arguing with someone else's child so he just let her sleep in it.
he grabbed the glass and took another sip. his mind unwinding a little bit more. but that soon vanished when he heard the front door open. the sound of heels and keys letting him know that it was just you.
you strolled into the kitchen with a stoic look on your face.
"oh, hey— was it not good?" mark began to greet you but then he saw your facial expression and frowned.
you huffed and sat on the stool closest to him on the right. eyeing his glass. "sucked ass".
mark sighed, "elaborate"
"at first, it was fine. but then when i actually started to flirt he said he wasn't into big women" you reached out for his glass and mark just let you have it with no hassle.
you downed what was left and placed it back on the island. "story of my fucking life".
mark took the glass and refilled it. "you went on a date with a boy," he gulped half of it. sliding the rest to you.
"a man would be able to appreciate a woman of your size" you began to chug what was left but choked when hearing the end of his sentence.
you stared at your friend with narrowed eyes. studying his words over and over again.
"what?" mark inquired.
"or maybe he just draws the line at fat" you replied.
mark shook his head. "you're not fat, this is not fat" mark puts a hand on your stomach.
you looked down at his hand then back up at him. placing the glass in front of you. "then what is it?" you tested.
"love" he answered.
on cue, you became a flustered mess and threw your head back in laughter. "you're so Goddamn cheesy"
mark gripped your love through your dress gently, "seriously, ___, there's people who really love what you have to offer"
you snorted. "and they probably just have a fat fetish" you grumbled.
mark hummed and removed his hand from you, "or it's a preference for their girl to have a bit of meat on their bones"
"let me ask, are you one of them?" you tilted your head. confused a bit to why mark was capping hard for your size.
"would it bother you if i was?" mark fired back boldly.
you bit your lip and glossed your eyes over him. meeting his eyes after, "hmm, i don't know"
"why?" mark did the exact same thing.
"because, and i might be taking this the wrong way, but i'm catching a vibe that you just prefer me" you mumbled. scared if he was going to flat out reject you right now.
but to your surprise, "you're taking it the right way then" mark said.
"are we flirting right now?" you thought out loud.
"is it working?" mark raised his eyebrows.
"very much" you licked your lips and straightened your posture.
"then yes, yes we are"
"would you like to stay the night?" you suggested.
"if it means i can show you how much i adore your 'love' and everything after then yes" that was it, that was the final straw. you slid from the stool and held out your hand for mark to take.
"you're in luck, tuan"

Moments (King Liam x MC)
Summary: Liam and Kendall enjoy the first few moments of their daughter’s life.
A/N: This has been siting on my computer for months now, and with TRH coming out on Friday, I decided I might as well upload it. Again, I’m not subscribing to the fact that my MC will more than likely give birth while trapped in the palace, so I’m retconning it.

~v~
It’s a peaceful winter evening in Cordonia. Everything outside is quiet, the streets are calm, the sun is setting beautifully, and it almost doesn’t feel real.
King Liam decides it’s a perfect day. Not because of the weather or the sunset, no those are just added incentives. Today is perfect because it’s the day the Her Royal Highness, Victoria Juliette Eleanor, Princess of Cordonia was born. The official announcement hasn’t been made. Liam and Kendall decided that they’d do it first thing in the morning, opting to enjoy those first few hours of their daughter’s life in private.
In the privacy of Kendall’s luxurious maternity suite, Liam marvels at the tiny bundle of joy swaddled in a warm blanket. He reaches into the bassinet and slowly pulls the baby out, careful not to make any noise. The Queen is sleeping, 18 hours of labor having completely exhausted her, and the last thing Liam wants to do is disrupt her peace.
He has a daughter. A beautiful baby girl, a spitting image of her mother. Once she’s securely in his arms, he smiles down at her, a smile so bright and wide, his face might burst. “Hello there, little cub! I’m your daddy, and I am so happy to finally meet you. I’ve been waiting rather impatiently for the last 9 months to have this moment.”
“You look so much like your mother, it’s uncanny,” Liam says. “It’s a good thing, because in my completely biased opinion, she’s the most beautiful woman in all of Cordonia. And you’re the most perfect baby in all of Cordonia, so I consider myself to be a pretty lucky man.”
Liam slowly walks around the room, trying to keep the young princess calm. She’s awake, her bright blue eyes that rival his own slowly adjusting to how bright the world is. “You’ve had a very eventful day. I know this is probably weird for you, being out here. You’re used to a pretty calm, dark, quiet atmosphere in mommy’s tummy and all of a sudden, you’re being thrust into the world, with all of these noises and bright lights. It’s quite a shock.”
“I don’t think there are enough words to describe the joy I’m feeling right now. I didn’t think it was possible to be happier than I was than the day I married your mother, but here we are. When she told me she was pregnant with you, I was on cloud 9. Above everything else, I’ve always wanted to have a family of my own, and your mother gave that to me. She showed me that true love exists and it’s possible for someone in my station to find it. So when you grow up, I want you to always strive for what you want. Never settle for less, okay?”
The baby yawns in reply, earning a small chuckle from Liam. “Am I boring you, princess? I’ll have you know that your mother and I have a very fascinating love story, and I can’t wait to share it with you one day.”
Liam sighs. He’s been up for the past 24 hours straight, and he knows he should be getting some sleep, but he’s just too excited.
“Since you’re up and I’m up, maybe I should tell you a little bit about our lives and about myself. We live in a small country called Cordonia, right off the coast of Greece. I’m the King, and one day you will be the Queen. I know it sounds daunting and at times, I’m sure it will be, but your mother and I will be there to teach you and advise you along the way. But that’s a long time from now, and while it is a great privilege and responsibility, I will never burden you with the weight of the crown. I know all too well what that pressure can do to a person.”
“Your uncle and I didn’t have the luxury of just being children, but I promise that changes with you. If you want to have tea parties with Auntie Hana, go fishing with your Uncle Drake, or have dance parties with Uncle Maxwell, you go right ahead. I welcome it, and I encourage it. I never want you to feel like you’re being stifled.”
“You have so many people who can’t wait to meet you,” Liam continues. “There’s your grandmother Regina, and tons of aunts and uncles. Drake, Olivia, Hana, Leo, Maxwell, Bertrand and Savannah. They also have a baby, so you won’t be the only kid around here. And If your auntie Olivia ever tries to teach you knife throwing or weapon concealment, promise that you’ll tell me or your mommy right away. We told her she’s not allowed to introduce you to weaponry until you’re 16.”
“And there are tons of pets. Chance and Lucky, and their babies already love you dearly. I couldn’t tear them away from your mom while you were still in her tummy. I’m sure you all will be best friends. And there’s also two pandas, and a horse. They live in Valtoria at your mommy’s duchy.”
Liam stares down at the baby again. It still feels surreal, like this is a dream and he’s going to wake up soon. “I love you so much. I don’t know if there are enough ways I can express it. I love you. Te amo. Ti amo. Se agapó. Je t'aime. That’s all the different languages I know how to speak, and it still doesn’t put into words just how much you mean to me. But I’ll gladly learn more.”
They walked around the spacious suite for a few more minutes, Liam alternating between talking to his daughter and just marveling at how precious she is. He’s halfway through telling her about how his ancestor, Queen Valentina went from a scribe to a noblewoman to a queen, when he hears his own queen stirring from her sleep.
“Liam?”
He rushes to her bedside. “Hello, my love. I didn’t wake you, did I?”
“No.” Kendall’s eyes land on the baby and she smiles softly. “Is she sleeping?”
“She’s actually awake. I’ve just been telling her stories about Cordonian history. She’s an excellent listener.” Kendall chuckles and attempts to sit up, wincing slightly as she moves the wrong way. Liam instantly notices the discomfort. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine, I just moved too quickly.”
Liam places the baby back in her bassinet and moves to his wife’s side. Placing a strong hand on her back, he helps her sit up, propping up pillows to use as support. He also drapes a blanket— a ridiculously expensive thing from Hermès, courtesy of Princess Marguerite — around her shoulders.
Once Kendall is settled into a sitting position, he picks up Victoria again and places her in Kendall’s arms.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone so...perfect.”
“She takes after her mother,” Liam says smoothly, joining his wife and daughter on the bed.
“Forever the charmer.”
“I only speak the truth.”
Kendall stares down at the baby again, fully taking her in. Her perfectly round head, her chubby cheeks, her stunning blue eyes, her dark hair peeking out of her tiny cap. “I think I want to stare at her 24/7 for the rest of my life.”
“We have a country to run, my queen,” Liam teases.
“Once they see how cute she is, the citizens will understand.” Kendall runs a finger along Victoria’s cheek and the baby leans into her mother’s touch. The simple act makes Kendall’s heart thud in her chest and tears prick the corners of her eyes. She’s a mom, this perfect bundle of joy in front of her is her’s. “I love her so much.”
“I love her too.”
Kendall thinks back to the past year and a half that she and Liam have endured. Conspiracies, assassination attempts, kidnappings, and intense alliance negotiations. All of that has brought them here, to this moment. To this serene, wonderful moment.
“Maybe it’s the hormones, but I feel like crying,” Kendall confesses.
“It’s fine. I’ve been teetering on the verge of crying all day.”
“I just can’t believe she’s finally here. This feels like a dream.” Kendall leans down and kisses Victoria’s forehead. “You are...a site for sore eyes.”
Liam kisses Kendall’s temple, his lips lingering there for a moment. “You were amazing, my love. I can’t thank you enough for bringing Victoria into this world.”
“It was worth it,” Kendall says. “I’d do it all over again for her. All 18 hours.”
“When do you think we should call Madeleine, so she can tell the press?” Liam asks.
“It’s nighttime now,” Kendall replies, softly. “We can call her in the morning.”
“She’s going to be absolutely incensed that we waited a full 24 hours before notifying her.”
Kendall shrugs in nonchalance. Madeleine being upset with her is at the very bottom of her list of priorities. “She’ll just have to be mad then. I don’t care.”
She leans back against Liam’s chest and he wraps an arm around her shoulder. They sit in silence for a while, just soaking in all of the happiness of the moment.
“Kendall?”
Kendall manages to tear her eyes away from Victoria and looks at her husband. “Yes?”
“I love you,” Liam says simply. “I love you so much. You are heaven sent, and you’ve made every single one of my dreams come true.”
The Queen leans forward and gives Liam a soft kiss on the lips. “I love you just as much.”
Victoria makes a tiny noise, and Liam and Kendall look down at her, smiles on their faces. “And we love you too, princess.”

As always, lots and lots of love and thanks for reading ❤️ Pls tell me what you think.

part one part two part three mobile masterlist
— Oi, lass, lass,— a familiar intone is heard when I open the window.
To my surprise, I spot Harry behind a trash container, with my cloak resting on his right shoulder.
When he sees my head peeking out of the second floor window, he pipes, — if you wanted to see me again, you should’ve just asked.
— Who says I wanted to see you, that was a hint for Gil to find.
He snickers at my words,— ya gaunnie come get yer manky cloak, or do I have to go up there?
—Shit, — I breathe — Just a second!
I close the window and look at Jay, who quirks a brow but doesn’t move from his spot on my desk. He began to explore my sketchbook app a few minutes ago, and seems to be completely immersed in it. Nevertheless, he puts the device down and chuckles, — This is you’re place, you know. Say the word and I’ll be out.
His words take me by surprise. Even if he’s been here for a few hours, I still can’t get completely used to the idea of such dangerous people, who are feared to death back home, being as decent and friendly as they have been during my stay here.
So, after a brief goodbye, he leaves and, after all of my Auradon-related stuff, I open the window once again.
— You already came all the way here, what’s a few steps up.
He’s about to make his way up the fire escape but, after a few steps toward it, he crosses his arms and says, — Yer right, I came to yer place, don’t I deserve a prize?
He’s such a flirt. After debating it with myself for a second, I make up my mind.
— Come here and get it, — I wink.
Without a second thought, he runs up the stairs outside the building and reaches my window in no time. What I’m I doing? No one was supposed to find out about this place, yet I’ve brought two vks here in just a day. I try to keep my cool as the pirate walks toward me, stopping about a foot away.
He smirks, —So, doll, ‘bout me prize.
I feel the heat in my cheeks when he takes a small step closer, placing a hand on the side of my waist.
—oh, right… that,——
Think fast, think fast….
I smile at him sweetly and kiss his right cheek, retrieving my cloak from his shoulder. — your welcome, — I smirk.
He laughs at my antics, — yer kidding? Don’t ya say that’s it! Glaickit of ya to think I’ll leave with just that.
—Who says you have to leave?— I utter the words while stepping back in order to sit on my bed.
His brows jump up and his ocean blue eyes shine with mischief and surprise. — What’d you suggest, doll.
— Staying here for a while but, now that I think of it, wouldn’t it be more fun to go out? The docks, maybe?
— Nah, depends on what you want to do. — his words keep coming out laced with an air of innuendo.
Not wanting to give up yet, I decide to play coy. — You know, the usual; take a walk, grab a bite, ‘keep the heid’, don’t you have to do rounds?
This time, it is a mix of mischief and excitement that floods him. — Yer right, can’t wait to see the faces of those wingnut vampires when ya scare the shit outta them!
— yeah… I’m thrilled.
Why did I suggest this, of all possible things to do? The question seems to be trapped in my mind. Ever since we left the apartment, Harry began to show a new side of himself, one that I had only seen in the papers I read beforehand.
He invited me to do his rounds with him, on the way to the docks and, needless to say, my magic resulted completely useless when it came to achieving the level of fear that Harry had in mind.
— Not so badass now? bastard, — he hisses, with a smirk on his face as his hook grabs some guy by the jacket. — whatcha gonna do?
The guy limits himself to whimper and let out some sort of cry. Given that the pirate has already grabbed everything that caught his eye, together with the designated amount of golden coins, the business there is dimmed as finished and we finally begin walking to Ursula’s.
—So what ya think, see yourself doing this with me and the crew?— he asks.
—Not really, not one for all of the intimidating.
— Ain’t so sure ‘bout that, lassie. You’ve done pretty well for what I’ve seen. — it is kind of weird to hear such words coming from him; even more so when sincerity is all across his handsome features.
I snicker, — yeah, right; I can’t even get a fly to run away.
His chin lifts up and his chest comes forward subtly, — I’d help you with that, if you decided to join us. In fact, — he wiggles his brows with a smirk, — I’d train you.
— As tempting as that sounds, I’ll have to decline, Hook. Got better things to do:
I shouldn’t even think twice about declining but something about exploring my vk side a bit further than I’ve been able to doesn’t sound completely crazy. Maybe is the way he looks at me, or should I say through me, with his ocean eyes; or the way in which those same eyes shine when he’s about to wreak havoc? Don’t really know, and not sure if I really want to.
Guess I’ll just have to solve this problem in the way I do it best, ignoring my questions until they go away.
I begin to run and chant, — Race you to the docks!
….
Panting, I stop in front of Ursula’s and get inside. The place is packed with members of Uma’s crew, some of which seem to recognize me. They acknowledge me without hostility, still thankful for what I did for them the night of the party.
—Look, Uma, Y/N’s here! Bet she’s looking for Harry, — Beams Gil, the blond and tall guy who first broke the ice with me the night I met the crew.
Uma smirks and approaches me, — Look, witchy, not sure if you got the memo but one night stands are supposed to be just that, and last one night, nothing more.
— Thanks for the heads up, cap, but I’m actually here to grab a pint. — I sit down on a barstool.
— in that case, — she turns away, visibly relaxing, — Bonnie! A beer for bibbity bobbity bullshit over here!
When Uma is behind the bar again, Harry, who had been inside and contemplating the scene, approaches me.
— Sorry ‘bout that, Uma just knows me too well,— he ventures. — Ain’t good for the business to have every lady in the isle claiming to see me, now is it?
His cockiness is amusing as it is annoying. — Oh, of course — I ponder.— that would be completely tragic.
He chuckles at me and steals a sip from my still full beer. Honestly, I don’t even like beer that much; just ordered it to play the part. Go
— Yer different, though, — he claims, but I don’t believe a word.
— Do tell, why is that?
— You’re not as annoying. Actually, I kinda like having you ‘round, — he flirts.
— So you, Mr. use-‘em-‘n-dump-‘em, are claiming I’m special? — I gasp mockingly, — what an honor.
We both laugh a bit, share another sip of beer, and he continues.
He shrugs, — Yer also fast. Not enough, but fast; even if you were playing dirty.
—Oh, gods, aren’t you one to talk about that! — I accuse,— and, given the case that I did play dirty, how did I do it?
— Lookie here — he gesticulates, motioning himself. — Racing a hungover pirate ain’t fair, besides, I had too much clothes on.
I chuckle, part of me wishing I could wipe that smirk off his face. — You’re just a bad loser, I’m pretty sure you’re always hungover; and, as for your clothes, not sure how that’s related to me kicking your ass.
— How low do ya think of me, doll, ya think I’m a bad loser? — he fakes a gasp. — and, as for my clothes, —his tone is mocking, — can’t you just enjoy me charm and help me solve the problem? But, in case you wanted a serious answer for your question, nakedness makes me more aerodynamic.
— wouldn’t you like that, Captain cockiness.— my brow quirks up. — And seriously, aerodynamic? Yeah, right.
— Not as much as ya would, my little witch.
I scoff as my eyes drift over to the window. The day is warm despite the lack of sun, so I suggest, — I think I’m gonna go for a walk. Come with me?
…….
The sound of the waves crashing against the docks is one that I’ve loved my whole life, back home, my dad and I go for boat rides often. However, here there’s a bunch of noise that accompanies the punches of water against wood and stones. The market is busy as we walk, but most of the catches turn out to be dead fish and trash that arrives from Auradon.
— I still don’t believe you, you know? It’s impossible for you to fit the grip of your hook inside your mouth; besides, how can I believe you if your too chickened up to prove it,— my arms cross expectantly.
Since we got out of Ursula’s, Harry’s been telling me a bunch of stories of his and Gil’s drunken deeds, and I may have also revealed a few of mine and Chad’s own disventures. For the last five minutes, he’s been trying to convince me that he’s capable of putting the whole base of his hook inside his mouth, but refuses to show me.
— Lass, ya’ll have to take me word for it. I’m still a few bottles of scotch away from doing that again.
—pff,— I playfully shove him sideways. — Yeah, right.
He places the tip of his hook on his chin, pretending to think, — you know, shouldn’t have spilled so much, now ya have lots of dirt on me.
—What am i gonna use it for? You know what, never mind. — I proclaim, — You, Harry James Hook, just made the worst mistake of your life. Now I’ll overthrow you and Uma, and take over the lost revenge. Buahahaha!
He laughs at me and counters, — seriously lass, some of these things, I’ve never told anyone before.
—relax Hook, you can trust me, — I smile, with the sincerity I can muster.
— Oh, okay then.
After the short moment of vulnerability, we fall into a void of uncomfortable silence. We continue to walk along the brick street next to the sea, and my hands seem to find a permanent place inside the pockets of my jacket. Harry softly whistles a melody with his eyes locked down, but looks up and smiles as we reach a familiar ship.
His frame stiffs for a moment as he inquires — You sure I can trust ya?
I hesitate, — Yes, of course.
— Then come on, you’re meeting someone. — he grins.
The ship seems to be isolated from the rest, yet it is full of crew members that work and bounce from one side of the deck to the other.
When we enter their sight, they stop to stare at us and pull out their swords.
One of them speaks with a threatening and raspy voice, — Not outsiders in the Black Pearl, Hook.
— Relax, Y/N ain’t gonna start beef, Barbossa. — Harry assures, — where’s Jack at?
— Sure hope she does cause some trouble, we could always use some tasty ladies here in this humble ship. — the malice in his expression makes me shiver, not to mention the wicked grin coming from the monkey on his shoulder, so I move slightly behind Harry.
At this point, it’s evident that the younger pirate’s patience is becoming thinner. — She’s not here for that, now where’s Jack?
Barbossa’s pounding laugh comes laced with his response, — His chambers, drinking. Good luck getting him outta there.
So, shielding me from the Wolfish looks sent by some crew members, Harry drags me to what I assume is the entrance of the captain’s quarters.
He knocks three times and a groan is heard on the other side, right before the breaking of a bottle and an incoherent train of curse words.
The door opens to reveal a tanned middle aged man sporting wild dreadlocks and a bored expression. However, his facade changes as soon as he registers that Harry was the one who dared interrupt him.
—Powder Monkey! What brings you to this old man’s ship?— his arm flies over Harry’s shoulder and he drags him inside.
I follow closely behind. My eyes scan the wooden floor and walls, the scattered pieces of green glass that I’m sure recently fell down, and a table full of unopened bottles, surrounded by five stools.
— Just thought I’d come ‘n greet, so you pack of salty dogs wouldn’t forget ‘bout me.
— Nah, wouldn’t forget ‘bout my favorite boot cleaner, — he smiles, showcasing a few golden teeth, — now would I?
Harry’s only response is to laugh as he opens a bottle of rum, — Also, wanted you to meet a, uhh, an acquaintance. Jack, Y/N; Y/N, this is Jack.
Acquaintance, seriously?
He turns my way, smirking and stretching out a dusty hand, — Well, let me say, m’lady, any friend of Jimbo here is a friend of mine. —After we shake hands, he sits down on the table, grabbing yet one more bottle, — Now tell me, what stupidity have you done to cross ways with this wonky piece of sea garbage?
I’m about to start, but Harry interjects, — She can’t tell you nothing without a dram.
— Only got rum, Hookey, who do ya think yer talking to, Turner?— he scoffs.
— Rum it is, then.
Awkwardly, I state, — Actually, I’m good as it is, gentlemen.
— You don’t drink? — This time, Sparrow breaks into laughter,— got a princess in your hands, Harry. But m’lady, — he turns toward me,— we all drink here, ‘s the code.
I chuckle, — Fine, but just a few drinks.
…
Thank god I have my boots on, I think to myself as I look at the floor. A fit of giggles scale my lips, followed by an almost unperceivable hiccup. It’s been a few hours since we arrived at the Pearl, and we’ve been drinking nonstop. At the beginning, it was only Jack and the two of us, but then Gil ended up here, together with maestre Gibbs.
I told them how I met Harry, but that’s the only truth that I’ve spilled. After all, knowing where I’m from would be enough motivation for these men to make me walk the plank and straight into the kraken’s nest. From then on, I’ve been mostly listening.
— So, then I was like ‘proceed,’ but they noticed I wasn’t white so the one with the fancy wig went all ‘it’s Jack Sparrow, it’s Jack sparrow!’ and I was like ‘nub-uh, I’m justice Smith.’ — Jack speaks between laughs, with exaggerated esticulations, as he takes another sip of some cheap wine; the rum ran out like an hour ago.
— You saved my ass that day, Jack, I remember it like it happened this very morning, — Gibbs patted his friend’s shoulder.
Gil chimes in, — like that time you saved us from the Huns, we wouldn’t have lasted two seconds without you and Anamaria.
— I haven’t heard that one yet, — I voice, utterly curious.
— Well, — Jack announces, then yawns. — you’ll have to hear it another time, Y/N/N. I've got some business, you know? Gotta sleep for a few years now.
Being the ship’s captain, and the two young pirates’ mentor, no one’s hesitant to comply. We get up and say goodbye, then make our way outside.
All three of us are still fairly drunk, so I decide to take this chance to see if I can get them to open up.
— I still haven’t heard the story of you guys and the Huns.
— ‘S a long one, lass. — states Harry, placing an arm around my shoulder, to which I respond by loosely grabbing his wrist with my right hand, as to keep his arms from moving.
— Well, we’ve got time! — I yowel.
— You’re gonna love it, Y/N. — As we walk, Gil begins to explain, taking a sip of the bottle we grabbed from the Pearl.— We were like seven when that happened?
----
Harry and Gil walked silently, as they kept an eye on Shan Yu’s men. It was Harry’s first official mission as part of his father’s crew, or it was gonna be, and he had called Gil and Uma for help and support. Sadly, the young sea witch had been grounded that very morning, so she couldn’t be there with the two boys. To say that they had absolutely no idea what they were doing was a complete understatement. They were clueless.
So, they did what seemed rational at the moment: follow the enemies and wait for the perfect moment to attack. Or… at least that’s what Gil had heard his father say when he talked about hunting.
—Shh!! — scolded Harry, — you’re gonna make them see us, Gil!
The blond boy muttered a quick ‘sorry,’ and continued walking, this time avoiding collisions.
— Harry, they’re getting into a warehouse, we should wait out here. — Gil intoned, chocolate eyes shining with fear.
Harry immediately countered and, on the contrary to his friend’s, his blue orbs were flooded with pride and determination. —No, this is my chance to prove father that I can be a real pirate. If we make it, he will train me.
----
We continue walking through the very same road that we took earlier today (yesterday, as midnight passed a few hours ago). Harry’s arm remains placed around me and mine has now found its way around his middle.
As he speaks, I feel the soft vibrations of Harry’s voice and the alcohol that pleasantly poisoned his breath; — so, we decided to ambush the Huns right there.
— We decided? You manipulated me into going, — Gil points out, giggling.
Harry sighs and grumbles, — Anyway, the point is we went inside and here we are; so, continue talking Gil. Before sunrise, if you can.
----
The two boys literally crossed a door that had no way back. They hid behind a few boxes of what they supposed were ingredients for Dim Sum, and carefully watched as the Hun soldiers opened a chest full of gold that they had stolen from the Jolly Roger.
— There it is, — Harry whispered in awe.
— It’s a lot of gold, — Gil quavered.
Back then, they were convinced that no one was aware of their presence, but a certain pirate lord who had his eyes on the very same prize had seen them from the start.
— Isn’t that Hook’s boy? — asked Anamaria.
—Yup.
She continued to press on the topic, — shouldn’t we take him? He’d be useful against his father; we could get some money out of him.
—Nope.
— And why the hell not, Jack?
The captain sighed, as he adjusted his position on the ceiling bar, — Jim doesn’t pose a threat at the moment and nothing he has seems to be worth it these days, the boy’s useless.
The Huns continued to speak in hushed tones, reason why none of the intruding parties were able to register what was happening.
The kids didn’t even have time to move when they felt the cold metal of swords against the back of their necks. With their hands raised in defeat, they stood up and faced Shan Yu’s soldiers.
—Your father didn’t even have the balls to come here himself?
— Maybe we could send him your fingers? Or maybe even your left hand? That way you’d get matching hooks.
The grown men spoke as they advanced on the two boys, making them head toward the wall of the building. When they had them cornered, both Huns raised their swords and both boys shielded their heads with their arms; but no harm came their way.
Instead, they saw the Huns fighting two other people, whom Harry recognized as members of the enemy pirate crew, the tripulation of the Black Pearl.
— So that’s why you went after the kids —chortled the man. — Your technique is worse than your fashion sense, and that’s saying something.
Both boys giggled at his words.
The man’s combat was sparkled with humor and witty comments, while the woman fought silently and with a stern expression, only groaning every few hits. Both of them had impeccable technique, and they seemed to be dancing in perfect coordination.
After what had seemed to be hours, the Huns ended up dead.
— I can’t believe I agreed to come with you in the first place, — hissed the woman, cleaning her left boot with the end of her puffy white sleeve.
— Come one, don’t tell me it wasn’t fun!
She ignored her companion and approached the boys, who had been contemplating their interaction.
— Hey, — she smiled, — I’m Ana, and that idiot over there is captain Jack Sparrow.
Harry stepped forward, — I’m quartermaster Harry Hook, and this is my friend Gil.
—Quartermaster? Harry, your father doesn’t even let you near the crew.
Harry glared at his friend and decided to explain to the two strangers, — well, I’m not exactly a quartermaster… yet! — he assured. — but I’m gonna be one, when my dad decides to train me.
It was the man’s turn to speak, and his voice came tinted with venom. — You mean Jim sent you here without training? Not even I would do that.
— My dad doesn’t think I have what it takes to be a pirate. I was gonna bring him his treasure back and show him I do have it, but I guess you’re gonna take it, right?
‘Not the puppy eyes, not those; anything but the puppy eyes!’ Jack pleaded to himself, but he ended up looking at the boy and giving in.
He groaned, and then spoke up. — We’ll all go back to the Pearl. There, well split the gold and maybe you’ll learn a thing or two.
— Uma’s gonna love this, — grinned the boys in unison.
----
We arrived at the end of the road, so the three of us sat on the edge of the dock, feet dangling over the water.
— So, that’s basically it. — concludes Gil. — Jack taught us everything we know about being pirates. Then, he helped us get the Lost Revenge.
I take a drink, — And, you’re all still pretty close to him. That’s really cool.
Harry chuckles, — well, we kind of owe him everything we are.
I lift my head, which was resting on his shoulder, and glance at him. — That’s not true; he may have trained you, but I’m sure you all have become your own selves.
— Don’ be stupid, lass, he did it because it meant a future a alliance and an advantage, not because he has a teaching vocation.
I sigh, looking for adequate words to phrase what I want to say, — Then you guys owe him what you know about piracy, nothing more.
None of the two pirates said anything.
You know, — Gil sighed, — he’s been there for us more than our own parents. He even saved us from Hook’s crew once, when we were thirteen.
—Still, he did it because we’d signify power for him and not because he cared about us. — Harry takes a long swing of liquor.
I sigh, — Still, I think that, even if he didn’t care at the beginning, he’s fond of you guys now.
Harry’s about to object, but he thinks for a moment and mumbles, — he’s been around for quite a while, even for me sisters.
—I’m just pretty glad that we found him, — Gil hummed, — since I began training with him, my father has been going on about how proud he is that I’m big and strong, and how he hopes that I’ll get myself a nice lady.
— Funny, — Harry says with a tint of grief, — my dad stopped talking to me when the moment I stepped on the Pearl.
Once again, we fall into silence. I fall backwards and look at the cloudy sky, Gil and Harry soon follow and, once again, I find a spot right under the first mate’s arm.
— I’m kind of sleepy, guys.— Gil voices my thoughts, we should head back to the Revenge.
Without complaining, the three of us stand up and walk back to the ship. Instead of heading to their quarters, Harry and Gil lead me to a few hammocks that are placed on deck for those on night guard.
Harry takes off his boots and coat, sitting on one, —‘m sure Uma won’t mind if we use these for tonight.
—Yeah, no big deal, — Yawns Gil.
— Kay.
I’m already beginning to sober up, so sleep is beginning to hit me. Without a second thought, I lay down and wrap myself in my cloak. I drift off to sleep, and my head clears.
It only lasts a few hours, though. I wake up with nausea and my head pounding. Sitting up, decision which immediately regret, I look around for Harry and Gil but turns out I’m alone. I get up and rub my eyes, walking towards Frollo’s creperie, which is a few blocks away from Ursula’s.
I arrive and bark my order, like I’ve seen people do it around here. Then, with a huff, I sit down and quickly glance at my watch.
9:30 am… shit!
